"Stock down to the goaltender. I'm going to give a stock down to the Columbus Blue Jackets who lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning. I can't keep on saying down the bay. I can't do that anymore. You said 5% chance to give Portland if they're the sea going up against the Lakers. Yeah. 5% chance. I think they win a game, maybe two. But I really think the Lakers will win that series in five. I'm really not concerned. I think playoff LeBron will take it up a notch. I think the Inability to guard LeBron and Davis will will hurt Portland. So I'm still sticking with. The the four thirty was like his dream car. He was very stoked on it. He bought it from some other youtubers. We had fire damage or something, which I was like really why, but yeah, but he brought us this, Montana. This is Montgomery American single malt whisky. And he brought us a couple bottles of that. Go going that way, and you just figure out how to go, which is like which is more interesting instead of kind of taking the. Because the trails, there are a little busy because it's July right. I can't imagine how hard that must been especially without a trail like fucking that we're clearly we're clearly different people. Only off trail for. Mahomes' big bet on football pays off with $503 million deal

"Start off the show with the conversation that really dominated the Monday edition of the Zack Help show on CBS Sports Radio. And that was the breaking news of Patrick Mahomes inking a 10 year deal. $503 million contract What it is worth up to, and that's the news that has really rocked the sports world and hit the sports world since the week did commands only two days into the week, and when I look back at this Mahomes deal And I think he's 100% worth it. I know some are going to be even with this talent, skeptical of giving any player a 10 year deal truly a 12 year deal because of the two years that are still currently on his contract. I look at Patrick Mahomes, though, And this was evident to May after his first full season in the National Football League that not only was he the best quarterback in all of football, but he was the best player in all of football and even look at last year. All the adversity that was thrown in front of him. You had a knee injury. Then you're down 24 points in the divisional round. You're down 10 points in the FC championship game, and you're down 10 points in a Super Bowl with only 7.5 to go. Think about that for a second. Look out how much was working against them? Look how much were working against the team a lot of it their own fault. Because they were the team that went down 24 then 10 and 10 as well. And even with all that it shows you how great Mahomes is because Mahomes was able to dig himself into a deep hole, and he was able to find the way against all odds because of his talent to back himself out of it. Now It's not only him. You need playmakers around you. You need a good coach. And you need a defense that in the second half of the season, that defense really did step up. The game where my home's got hurt. I think they were playing the Broncos. I could be wrong on that. But whoever they were playing that night, I remember talking to Steve Spagnola after they won the Super Bowl inspect set on the show. It was that night where Mahomes got hurt. That was the turning point for the defense this year with the Kansas City Chiefs.

"Just an MP in Iraq. I was a medical corpsman in Afghanistan. I had to literally so people back together. What did you do? That was so horrible so with his relationship at a dead end and no help from his friends. Zack starts looking for support somewhere else. In the summer of two thousand six he start seeing a man he met at a local bar. Zach is just starting to come to terms with being bisexual and most of his friends. Don't even know about it so he tries to keep the new relationship under wraps but of course by September word gets back to Addie and she's furious first of all she's furious at Zack's cheating on her although it's hard to say how much they were actually together at this point but to her the fact that he's cheating on her with a man somehow makes it much worse in her eyes for the next few weeks. She taunted him with homophobic slurs even in front of his friends and co-workers. This was very nearly the last straw for both of them. Then at the end of September addy comes to Zak with one last offer of reconciliation. She got into a dispute with her landlord and she was about to be addicted. She couldn't afford to put down a deposit on a new place so she asked sat to move in with her for real this time their own equally shared home a year lease and a fresh start. This seemed promising to Zach so he agreed to give it one more shot so at the beginning of October. Two thousand six they move in eight twenty six north. Rampart street sack pays the first and last month's rent out of his own pocket and he's under the impression that when the landlord gets the paperwork together they're both going to be listed as tenants however on the morning of October fourth addy shows of the office and asked to sign the lease alone with only her name on it about five minutes later. The landlord gets a call from a Zach. Obviously sees where this is heading. If apartments in addy's name she can kick him out whenever she wants as usual and since he was the one who put down the move in fees. He's going to be homeless and broke so the landlord goes back to Addie to ask her. What's going on? The first thing she says is that Zach cheated on her and she's kicking him out now at this point the landlords like listen. You need to sort out your own drama. I don't want to be involved in this. So he leaves and that's the last time anyone sees addy alive now. When police I look at this crime it seemed totally senseless. But that's because they were only looking at the days around the murder itself when you actually put together the full story the year and a half slow-burn of tension it makes perfect sense. The argument about the lease was actually a fight about everything. The financial instability the infidelities sexuality addy's emotional abuse both of their past traumas and untreated mental illnesses. Not to mention the drinking and drug use with such a perfect storm of stress. It's not surprising that sack reached his breaking point. Knowing all this at the end of the day it looks like the only demons involved psychological ones the fact that the new apartment was above. A voodoo temple is just stray thread in the story and for the next few years that was it. The case was closed and the rumors about dark. Magic were put to rest. But in June of two thousand twelve something happen that raised fresh questions about Zack. Addy's demise. Another young woman from New Orleans was killed and dismembered and the killer happened to be one of addie halls. Closest Friends. Coming up will explore the connection between these two gruesome murders. Now back to the story on June seventh two thousand twelve a woman's torso washed up on the beach in Bay. Saint Louis. Mississippi severed limbs and decapitated head followed close behind it. The body was identified as Jaren Lockhart. A twenty two year old dancer from New Orleans almost immediately. The investigators zeroed in on their suspects. Terry speaks and Margaret Sanchez. I closing time in the early hours of June six. The couple had appeared at the club. Were jared danced. Terry and Margaret. Both used to actually work at the club. Chew as a dancer and a doorman respectively so they knew Jaren everyone else. Pretty well Margaret asked around to see if any of the dancers wanted to work a private party a few girls turn them down but Jaren had made very many tips that night and rent due soon. So she agreed. Security cameras picked up Margaret Terry and Jaren walking down the street together at about two o'clock in the morning and that was the last time. Jaren was seen alive. Margaret and Terry were both arrested on June twelve just a week. After the murder. There was a mountain of evidence against them though. Admittedly no clear motive but before the two suspects could be formerly charged. Police were hit with a curve ball on July fourth the ABC drama show final witness aired an episode about Sack Bowen. An addy halls murder suicide one of the main subjects they interviewed was addy's best friend. None other than Margaret Sanchez on the show which was taped more than a year earlier. Margaret talks in detail about her friendship with Addie. They'd met before Hurricane Katrina when they were both working as bartenders in the French quarter Margaret. Also News Act pretty well and it was clear that she'd been around the couple. In the months leading up to their deaths in one segment she imagines going through Zaks head after killing addy quote. What am I going to do to get rid of the body? That would be the first thought. How am I going to fix this and quote the detectives on the Jaren Lockhart Case? Just ignore this deputy chief Don Bass told The Times Picayune. Let me ask you this. How many personal friends you have who've been murdered. And how many personal friends do you have? Who were murdered and dismembered but no matter how closely they looked. There wasn't any evidence linking Margaret to addy's debt to be fair the investigation. Two thousand six would have been quick since all signs pointed to Zach. So it's possible that there's something that they missed as far as anyone could tell though there really was no connection. It was just an unbelievable freak coincidence. The situation looks even stranger. When you consider the motive for Jaren Lockhart murder or rather the total lack of motive just like with Adams APP. No one could figure out what drove Margaret and Terry to murder. They knew the victim but not well. Nothing of value was stolen. The crime was obviously premeditated but for no apparent reason so once again with nothing else to go off the investigators start to wonder if other forces were at play this time the theory they landed on was sacrificed on the night of the murder. There was this really rare astronomical event called Venus transit which is when Venus passes between the Earth and the Sun. It only happens twice every two hundred forty three years so it's kind of a big deal to scientists but it doesn't have any real significance to any culture except ancient Maya most. Maya rituals were based around the planets particularly Venus and a lot of those rituals included human sacrifice. You might remember that in two thousand twelve big panic around the apocalypse because the Maya calendar ended that December. Now it's hard to say. Exactly what the Maya thought would happen. Two thousand twelve but they considered it the end of a cycle for humanity and the beginning of a new world. The Venus Transit in June of two thousand twelve was supposed to usher in that shift so a likely time for human sacrifice if you live in ancient Mesoamerica but as how it relates to our suspects. According to the lead investigator Margaret and Terry had mentioned the Venus transit in emails to each other. But that's all we have. The full. Emails have never been released to the public so we don't even know like what they said about the Venus Transit. They could have just heard about it once on the news and beyond those emails no other evidence supports the ritual sacrifice theory. Jaren had been killed by a single stab wound to the heart. The decapitation and the dismemberment occurred postmortem. And according to investigators to only purpose was to make it harder to identify the body. Ironically it looked like Jaren was cut apart for the same reason as Addie pure and simple convenience. We can't say for sure but it's possible that Margaret was thinking back to her friend. Step the further. You look into it. This is the only real connection between the two murderers they weren't committed by the same people or the same demonic force but they were both rooted in the same emotional trauma. Like sack. Terry speaks was also a veteran. He served in the Marine Corps from nineteen ninety one to nineteen ninety-two during his service was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Later on. He was hospitalized for suicide attempt as for Margaret. According to a friend she had bipolar disorder. Just like addy and when two people who are both dealing with such difficult issues get together. Well we already saw what can happen instead of building each other up you might bring out the worst in one another however even though there's an earthly answer the voodoo rumors about Zack. Addy never really stopped in October. Two Thousand Sixteen on the ten year anniversary of attis murder the TV show. Paranormal lockdown traveled to what they call the Rampart Street Murder House for seventy two hours to paranormal. Investigators locked themselves in Zack. Addy's apartment to finally put the rumors to test. Their results were inconclusive. The only solid findings were from a device called the go box which supposedly allows spirits to communicate through radio waves. The device captured voice. Saying you're not alone and more shockingly strangled to death but before we get too carried away with that we have to take a look at the GIO box itself. It's essentially a radio scanner with a few modulars attached supposedly. If there is a spirit nearby they'd be able to manipulate the radio frequencies to send you a message but the creator of the box admits that without the interference of spirit all you're GonNa get is bleed from am radio broadcasts. If the words you hear match up with the answers you're looking for. It's most likely just a coincidence. Coincidences are hard to accept which is partially why there are so many occult theories about this case in the first place but in a way coincidence is an even scarier explanation than dark. Magic voodoo curse. Zack addy and Margaret Terry. For that matter were all haunted by common every day issues mental illnesses. Ptsd abuse infidelity alcohol drugs. Pretty much everyone has dealt with at least one of those issues in their lifetime and it usually doesn't end with a severed head on a stove top but when you put them all together. It doesn't matter how levelheaded you are or how much you love your partner. The right combination of stress and trauma could push anyone over the edge..

"Original. And I'm your host Ashley Flowers every Wednesday. I'll be taking a deep dive into a real unexplained mystery to try and figure out the truth. It's mental health awareness month so for this episode. We're going to be looking at a case. That's a little different. There's a long long history of mental illness being conflated with the paranormal like demonic possession or go sightings this is pretty dangerous not only because it stigmatizes mental illness but because it stops us from addressing the real human problems that are usually at the root of it and nothing exemplifies this better than the two thousand six murder. Suicide of Zach Boeing and Eddie Hall. You can find all episodes of supernatural and all other podcast originals for free on spotify. And if you like what you're hearing reach out on facebook and Instagram at podcast and on twitter at podcast network when you think of New Orleans you picture a bustling city jazz music and Mardi Gras parades. But in two thousand six. It was a ghost town in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Most of the population had evacuated. Except Zack Addy. They were among the few thousand hold outs who refuse to evacuate the French quarter. They were also both bartenders. And after Katrina bartenders were like Gods. They kept the morale up and basically held the community together during the recovery effort so everyone was shocked when just a year later. The happy young couples relationship ended in the most gruesome way imaginable following the instructions. From Zack's note. Police Arrive at eight twenty six north Rampart Street at about ten PM on October seventeenth. The place was trashed. The floor was covered in beer. Cans and cigarette stubs and unopened. Moving boxes were stacked around the living room and hears strange part. All of the walls were graffitied with black spray painted messages one of them said please call my wife another said. I love her one. I'm a total failure and on the ceiling above the bed read. Please help me stop the pain. And finally and the most ominous of all look in the oven. When officers opened the oven it took a moment to register what they were really looking at arms and legs burnt to a crisp in a tin foil Pan and on the burner. There was a pot containing an unrecognizable head and behind. That was another pot with two severed hands and feet and in the fridge is where they found her torso from Zach suicide note. They knew what had happened. But why was still unfathomable? Eventually they found an eight page confession. Written in the last few pages of Abbie's journal almost immediately the details leaked to the press and excerpts from the note were published everywhere from ABC News to the UK's Daily Mirror. It described in exacting detail everything that led to the grisly scene before them. Zack starts off with his motive about two weeks earlier on October fourth he had he had gotten into a fight they just moved into the new apartment a few days ago and addy had apparently tried to take his name off the lease their argument lasted into the late hours of the night and then at about one o'clock in the morning Zach strangled her so right off the bat. This sounds like a pretty intense reaction to the situation. Right like it'd be one thing. If had a history of violent behavior or domestic abuse but by all accounts that wasn't the case he was never violent guy and in fact he was really level headed. It's true that everyone has a breaking point but this this was it a disagreement about moving in together. What makes it even? More horrifying is that he didn't just strangle addy. He allegedly sexually assaulted her corpse before falling asleep next to it the next morning. He just went to work and when he got home. He moved her body into the bathtub. Got a hacksaw and a knife and spent the entire night. Cutting her body Zach had the whole weekend off work so he had plenty of time to finish up the task however according to his note quote due to laziness I spent most of the time coked up in various bars with different girls. I scared myself not by the action of strangling the woman that I've loved for one and a half years but by entire lack of remorse. I wanted to quit my job and spend the fifteen hundred dollars in cash. I had being happy and kill myself and quote. And that's exactly what he did for the next four days addy's remains continued to rot while Zach was out partying spending all his money on drinks and drugs and Wednesday finally did get around to cleaning up the body. He decided took cook the parts in the oven. Now there's no evidence that he actually ate any of her body parts and in his explanation he claimed it was basically just to make it easier to dispose of but as we know he just left the burnt pieces in the kitchen and called it quits. So that isn't even really make sense to me by October seventeenth. Nearly two weeks. After the murder at the tension finally snapped. He ends his confession note with a list of regrets. Quote Friends Jobs. Military Marriage love. Every last one of these I failed at according to the note he burned himself with a cigarette. Twenty eight times one for each year of his life and then he jumped off the roof of the Omni Royal Hotel to anyone who knew Zach. This was totally incomprehensible. Sure his relationship with Addie wasn't always rosy they'd been on again off again for the past few months but they always manage to work through their differences and stay together until they moved into this apartment. The building was converted. Two Story Cottage Zack. And Addy lived on the second floor and right below them on the ground level was the New Orleans Voodoo spiritual temple. Almost immediately there was speculation that the location itself wasn't a coincidence now. Some of that speculation came from their neighbor John. John had lived on the property for years in a few different units. Actually but no matter which one he lived in. He just never felt comfortable there for awhile. He'd lived in Zach Matty's apartment. He got such bad vibes there that he actually had to have a priest. Come in and bless it but that must have not even worked because eventually he settled into his studio in the back building which is just across the courtyard. He was up late on the night after the murder and he felt a sense of foreboding that he just couldn't quite place then just before dawn he looked outside and he that he saw someone standing on the balcony outside his window so he goes over to check but when he gets there. There's no one there now. At first he let it go but a little while later he sees it again by now. John was so freaked out that he actually called in a friend to come over and look outside but once again no one was there now to be fair kind of sounds like John might just be superstitious. But he wouldn't be alone in that. New Orleans has a reputation for haunting such as John explained to the reporter Ethan Brown. This is an old city with old. Spirits don't tempt them naturally with the apartment being right above the sacred temple. Some people wondered if there was dark magic involved in the murder. The temple only opened its doors in nineteen ninety but the building itself has a history with food that stretches back for centuries it was originally a creole style. Cottage built in eighteen. Twenty nine right down. The street from Congo Square in eighteen hundreds Congo square is wearing slaved. Africans would gather every Sunday to sell goods dancing and practice their native religions. The different African religions actually mixed with the Catholic beliefs of the French colonists to create Louisiana. Voodoo what happened at the square though was more entertainment than actual ritual. The serious magic took place somewhere else. Either out on the by you or at someone's house for example. The courtyard of a message just across Rampart Street. The problem is those ceremonies. Probably weren't as dark as you might be imagining. There are different types of Voodoo and while some of them do include harmful magic some only focus on healing and protection priestess. Miriam Shimoni who opened the Voodoo temple in Nineteen? Ninety is in the second group. Her practice is mainly about and spiritual healing. If there's a demonic presence in the building she isn't the one who summoned it but if something was summoned their way back say the eighteen hundreds. It's possible that it might still be lingering in two thousand six and it might have been what drove Zach Bolen over the edge. At least that's the story. That was making the rounds at the time. It's really just speculation. Apart from their neighbor getting bad vibes. There isn't any evidence. But then how do you explain what happened?.

"zack" Discussed on The Sporting Life with Jeremy Schaap

"Sluggers magic of the one thousand nine hundred ninety five Indians written by Zack. Meisel of the athletic who joins us? Now ZAC thanks for being with us. Thanks for having me Jeremy. All right so you know. I already kind of Gave Away You know The ending they don't win. They lose the braves that great braves team that only won one world series despite winning like forty five consecutive division championships What's so fascinating about the one thousand nine hundred five Indians other than this remarkable collection of personalities and talents or maybe that is the most interesting thing I should say well You hinted at it because it was really a perfect storm of a team that had been built from the ground up years in advance. And then this franchise moves into this beautiful new BALLPARK IN DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND. And the timing could not have been more perfect where you have a team emerging from this forty year slumber where they were the dregs of the league they were. They reached such a low point that they had a famous movie made after them. Of course so that was chariots of fire right. That was the case. Exactly you know your movies tres. The timing was perfect and you had a city that was so desperate and so hungry for something to get behind and not only. Do they have a winning team? But the fashion in which they want with all these walkup victories and come from behind wins and yeah the personalities where you had an imposing slugger Albert Belle colorful characters like Omar vizquel and Kenny. Lofton savvy veterans. Who had been around the block? It was just the perfect mix for a city that was just waiting and waiting and waiting for exactly that I mean and and this this lineup I mean I'm looking at it now. I mean Manny Ramirez in ninety five when he's twenty three hitting thirty one home runs You've got as you mentioned Albert Bell. Fifty that year with one hundred twenty. Six runs batted in Jim. Thome e would end up being a six hundred homerun player and Kenny. Lofton and Omar Vizquel and Carlos by era. And you've got Eddie. Murray a another future hall of Famer Dave Winfield another future hall of Famer all these guys making contribution some larger than others. Obviously this incredibly exciting team. Would it mean in Cleveland to have a team after fifty years almost fifty years since its last World Series Championship in Nineteen Forty Eight? That team what did it mean to Cleveland. Have a team like this around. Well there's no better way to explain it then to say that two days after the Indians lost game six and the braves celebrated in Atlanta. The Indians returned to downtown Cleveland. For a celebration with tens of thousands of fans packing the streets and climbing onto traffic lights and lampposts in downtown Cleveland. And they lost but it meant so much to that city to finally have something some thread to get them through the summer and and the early part of fall Which they had waited so long for that and you know it came in. This is nineteen ninety five and the browns left in nineteen ninety five so it was it really was the start of something to and I think of course fans were disappointed in the end result but it had been so long and really most of the people who experienced that ninety five team not around the last time the made the postseason nineteen fifty four. When they didn't win a postseason game they were swept in the world series so it has been since nineteen forty eight since they had a playoff run. So that's forty seven years. Nobody remembered that so. This was the first time they could remember having something to keep them. Invested for six months and so even with the end result. I think there was an appreciation for what that lineup accomplished. Boulevard famers or would be all of famers should be all famers and a pitching staff. That was pretty underrated too. They just had all of the elements. And it's just really galvanized Cleveland. I gotTA admit And we're figuring Zack. Meisel about his new book. Cleveland rocked precise sluggers and magic of the nineteen ninety-five Indians. And I know I should know this. I mean I was covering baseball on a daily basis. I totally forgot to Orel. Hershiser won sixteen games for them. I mean I didn't really. I mean I remember. Nagy and I remember Dennis Martinez Martinez won twelve yet a very good year for them Nagy was. This is a typical kind of Charles. Nagy sixteen and six with a four five five But hershiser who is thirty six went sixteen and six with a three point eight seven. Era IN JOSE. Mesa had forty six saves with a one point one three era. Yeah what you think about you. Think about the hitters on those teams but there there was some effective pitching going on as well as they won one hundred games. Yeah no one ever recognizes the fact that they led the American league in era and they were really good at preventing walks and hits. And you didn't have much traffic on the basis and the hitters would tell the pitchers just just hold them. You don't need to throw a shutout just limit them to a few runs and let Albert Belle and Jim thome and Manny Ramirez. Kenny Lofton Eddie. Murray do their thing. Unbelievable so yeah you can see if you look at the ages of the roster. It's really interesting because most of the roster was was bill from within. They drafted well. They traded well So you had young hitters in that lineup like told me Ramirez and then they when they knew that it was time to to hit the gas pedal. That's when they went out and they signed Dennis Martinez even though he was forty years old. They signed. Eddie Murray. Who was nearing the end of his career and then right before the ninety five season they signed. Orel Hershiser to be that. If the missing coggin that rotation and hershiser ended up having a fantastic season he was the MVP of the LCS against America. So you know it's funny when I think about the Indians from the mid nineties there was that you know I. It meant so much as well. Because there'd be no world series ninety four. We have mentioned that so it was kind of this unique circumstance to people were hungrier for World Series. And perhaps they were typically because what happened ninety four but two years later in ninety seven they get to game seven Against the MARLINS and and they they lose that one in when I think of the Indians of the ninety s There's so much talent but they don't quite get over the top. What what's what's the team. That means more in the heart hearts and minds of people from Cleveland. The ninety five team or the ninety-seven team. Yeah it it's the ninety five team for a couple of reasons number one. They hadn't disappointed anybody yet. So that's what made that summer. So special is it was all new and fresh and IT WAS FOREIGN TO CLEVELAND. Fans who were used to the team being in the basement by June first so that was one part of it. I think that's why people were more accepting of the end result even though they weren't happy with it obviously But in ninety seven that team didn't click until late August. They were treading water. They didn't have much of a division lead. In fact they were trailing the white sox for a while and then they played a little better down the stretch. I think they want to eighty seven games kind of limped into the playoffs and just caught fire at the right time. Had some some clutch hits at some key moments in October to get to the world series but again that's by that point you they lose ninety five in the World Series Ninety six. It was a first round exit so there was more of a sense of urgency and I think fans were less forgiving especially when they had the lead in the ninth inning in game. Seven in Miami and couldn't shut the door. I gotTa tell you before before we let you go. Is that when I think about Albert Bell and he was this tremendous talents Enigmatic I think is a fair way of describing him maybe maybe a charitable way of describing him when he became a free agent and he eventually goes to Baltimore. I remember that off season trying the producers working with Willie Wind. I were trying to get an interview with him and dealing with his brother. His late brother Terry yet and and Terry Terry finally I can't remember he I think he told he told our producer. Willie Wind Bam. We were telling him eight. Look you've got to trust. This could be a fair story. We're not out to get Albert Bell. We want an interview with him. You know Blah Blah. He said No. You don't ever said I don't want a fair story. I want a good story. Kim thought that kind of said something. It wasn't just about Albert Bell but about the dealings between athletes and reporters generally speaking what what was up with Albert Bell. Where do we begin? Do you have a few hours? And we don't have that much time. But you're an expert on the subject the fascinating thing to me maybe the most compelling nugget during the research and interview process for the book was how close they were to cutting ties with him before he ever reached the major leagues just because they were sick of dealing with the antics whether he was frustrated with reporters or taking out his his anger. From what happened in the batter's box on a clubhouse bathroom sink or the dinner table or the Thermostat it was always something and you know that some of the people in the front office said. Hey It's time we have to cut ties and there were other people who gave some push back and said disguise are only prospect. We can't cut ties with him now. He's he's the future. There's no future at all. So it's it's amazing to imagine that lineup without him. Certainly you have some good hitters. But I don't think you're striking fear into the opposing pitchers like you do when when you have that menacing glares staring back at you in the batter's box who was always hitting fourth for the Indians I it he was. He really was the heartbeat of ninety five team It was just such a studious. Hitter kept diligent notes about every single pitcher every single at that still has them to this day and no you didn't want to model your your off the field routines necessarily after him But everything he did to prepare for games. You can see how that rubbed off on. Young Henry told me and Ramirez and it paid dividends for the Indians immediately ended. The long-term Zach maizels new book. Is Cleveland Rock? The precise sluggers magic of the nineteen ninety five Indians and Zach covers the Indians for the athletic previously covered the team for Cleveland Dot Com and MLB. And you're you're about thirty years old. Yes exactly so you only five. What did you have any memories? Personal Memories of this team is a five year old at the time. Yes that. That's what made me Kinda jump at. The idea is my very first memory of watching. Sports is what I remember exactly where I was watching game six of the world series so I remember David Justice hitting the home run which was the only run in that game. The braves winning one. Nothing and You know I it was when you're a kid growing up in Cleveland in the nineties and you played baseball. You Love Baseball. That's there's no better introduction to the sport and watching that team so it doesn't matter to you that they ended up merely as runners-up this is this is this is your team forever. I mean it's it really was just the perfect Just had every element you could ever want and you think about especially where we're at now where we don't have sports and we're all trying to cling to anything we can that resembles competition. It really hits home to me. Just how important baseball has been not just in my life but in plenty of people especially people in Cleveland who grew up with those nineties Indians and those teams got so close but couldn't get over the Hump and just how baseball is such a constant and every day in the summer you go to work you come home. There's a game on you know it's the weekend and it's nice out. You can listen to the game while doing something outside. You can go down to the ballpark. So it's that ninety. Five team was the perfect example of what it means when you are invested. Got That that next game every single day. There's some new results that you can process and to not have that right now I kinda. It's furthers that point a little bit more. Those Indians teams. Were Fun to watch. They were exciting to cover as well. I remember covering current them in the ninety seven. Lcs I guess but it was a little bit of a different team at that point anyway Zach it's terrific of you to spend this time with us and share your memories and his New Book Zach Muzzles New Book as I said is Cleveland Rock the personality sluggers and magic of the nineteen ninety five Indians. Sean LeBlanc How to book incredible portrait photography clients at expos

"Hey It's Andrew Helmet from impact images. Welcome to this episode of the PODCAST. I know you're GonNa love what Shawn has to share. He has an incredible story. And I think it'd be blown away by the success. He's having in such short time. But I would encourage you to make sure you check out his website to get an idea of the kind of work. This guy is producing before we get into all that. I've been thinking quite a lot about interviewed last week. With Zack. Arias and I've had a conversation with another photographer. I'M GONNA leave. He's nine out of this but he just could not believe he seriously thought Zach was making this up that he would go out and shoot one hundred dollar poets poets after making so much money as a successful commercial and aditorial photographer for big brands. That just did not make sense to this listener. We had a few back and forth. It turns out that Zach was being one hundred percent truthful. Amer God's to these poets portraits for one hundred dollars. He's actually got a youtube video up now. Talking about these executives the fact that he booked fifteen families in five of them cancelled in the graphing ten days families for one hundred dollars a pace to release fifteen minutes sessions. He goes into complete data. So there's no denying that Zach was playing one hundred percent truthful. I WANNA be clear. The majority of comments and feedback were just how refreshing. It was to hear from someone exacting so truthful and honest about the state of photography the industry dealing with Kobe nineteen and all the aspects of having no income and manning expenses. It's just frightening anyway back to this other photographer having back and forth. I think what we both agree on more. No we what we both agree on is. There's a really good chance. Even though exact didn't say this specifically that having high overheads a lot of expenses with little savings and the possibility of no work coming in is extremely dangerous and personally. That's where I see a lot of photographers leaving their lives and probably not only photographers. I mean we all like to have a nice house. Nice US new cameras. Modern computers a lovely looking home with NAS furnishings. Holidays kids with Nice things. I mean. They're all things that way we've been brought up to to want and then to pursue and go after and of course we all know we have to work hard to have those things as well but the scary thing is if worked rise up. Where does that leave us? Where does it leave you? And I believe one of the biggest things that come out of this corona virus pandemic is. We need to take a really close look at the way. We're living what we value. What kind of debt were go into what can happen if we can't service those debts for whatever reason it doesn't have to be a pandemic could be personal injury or illness? Something change China's economic climate. I mean war another could be anything and everything could happen to affect our chance to make an income to generate clients and Mike right siles but on the other hand we still want to have all those nice things so to me. We need to think about what we value more away. You place your value and how much risk or dead. You're happy to carry do. Do you really need to have the fifty or one hundred thousand dollar car? The lightest camera. Do you need to have the lightest fridge that you've taken on an interest free loan from the department store? Can you pay off your major debts like your mortgage before you start pursuing all those luxuries in life or some of them anyway. Is that a possibility because one thing is certain if you have no debt and worked as dry up for whatever reason you're going to be in a lot more of a comfortable position a lot less stressful a lot less reliant on government handouts a lot less anxious and generally in a bit place and when. I started thinking about this this whole thing. The first interview that came to mind was one are recorded a few years ago with Vincent Puglisi. If you haven't had a chance listened to that episode it's episode two hundred and fifty five the toddle that Iran we played episode had to move to a life of zero debt with your photography business. And he's the author of the book freelance to freedom. It's definitely worth getting back. And having listened to Vincent to what he shares and had different his life is as a result of living without debt. Because to me. That's the one thing that he's causing most photographers. That is struggling right now. The most anxiety. It's that debt. And it really is a frightening place to be with all that being said. Hope you are in a good place. I hope things have started to settle down and you can see a way forward through this. It sounds like it sounds like things are going to be slowly moving back to some kind of normal in the next four to six weeks. I don't know how that's going to affect you. Depending on where you live and your government restrictions and rules but it sounds like humanist dry they're gonNA start to slacken off the restrictions in the next four weeks whether that means we can go back and shoot weddings immediately or family portrait sessions. But it's looking like that's the why it'll be and that'll be great when that does happen. I just quickly on that topic of photographers. Not Working. No we covered a little bit of this Zack's interview last week. But what I found interesting is particularly here in Australia or New South wiles. We're being told that we can't work unless we have an essential business and for some reason photographers have jumped in to mmediately. Fly The flag for us not being an essential business and I get that. We aren't an essential business. No one needs photography to survive and this year a photographer that is but the general community doesn't need photography to survive. But I'll look around and I see shops open. I see electricians GonNa work plumbers going to work. I say build is going to work. Say My son going to work as a locksmith. Our all those things essential services in some cases yes they are like you may need a plumber. Plumber is essential if the toilets blocked with the drains not draining. But they're going about their work as they do every other day when there is no pandemic replacing taps tap washers. They're doing little jobs. They're doing big construction jobs. Is that essential? I don't think so now. I'm not suggesting that you should be out there working as a photographer doing your family. Portraits or photographing allotments. Or doing whatever you do for your dog. Affi business but I can understand that if you have to put food on the table. You'll do what you have to do to bring some kind of income in if you can do it within the rules. Governments is setting but for some reason. Photography is saying to have this great divide in our industry where you're the lowest of low if you consider going out to work if you're shooting port portrait's even though you're maintaining your your distance or you're doing what you can to put some food on the table and interestingly. I haven't seen a lot of pushback on Zach Zach Arias and what. He's doing what he discussed in last week's episode. I'm seeing very little pushback now. Is that because he has a higher profile because he's more well known in the Industry. Is that why people aren't screaming at that? Hey you shouldn't be doing that. Zach this is the worst thing. You're a photographer. What you're doing is not essential or is this something else at play here that I don't understand

Social Media DMs - Just Say Hi

"A lot of my friends. Colleagues and other entrepreneurs to very quickly try to move into direct messaging of their contacts on social media. I believe strongly that direct messaging has the highest value as far as communication value. Goes in all social media because it represents a one on one conversation but when I recommend this I always get the question back. Well Eric what should I say? And it's look I get it. It's awkward it's unusual to open up a conversation a cold conversation if you will with anybody but my response is always will. What would you do if I was this person that you want to communicate with and I just walked right up to like right now boom? I'm right in front of you. What would you say and they usually respond with something like well? I I'd say hi that's right. Yeah you say hi. What else did you say I'd say? Hi My name is Jason Right. What else So it looks like you work at company. Abc I work in some similar industry. Exactly when you slide into the DM. It should be a conversation that is just as normal as if you're walking up to someone that you WanNa meet at a networking event and you start a conversation. What are you going to say? The awkwardness of social media direct messages is exactly the same as the awkwardness of in person events. Whatever you saying one is what you're saying the other so just get comfortable with trying to figure out what it is. You're GONNA say to someone regardless of where you are conversing with them. It could be in person or it could be a social media. It really doesn't matter but just be normal. Whatever you would say normally is what you say in a direct message as my friend Zack. Miller likes to say. Just say. Hi and

Gonzaga beats Saint Mary's to win 2020 WCC Championship

"Conference championships that's going to do it we can also put up a whale of a fight in the first half of the contest but at the end of the day it won't matter against the second ranked team in the country as they could snag the Bulldogs have reclaimed the west coast conference basketball championship hi Watson Learfield IMG college good Zack with a win over St Mary's and the second ranked zags earning another conference tournament title eight in ten years and they obviously get the automatic berth from the conference though they were headed anyway Joe Lunardi has been slotted in as the top seed in the west as for what we can expect from them this spring ESPN analyst Alfonzo Ellis we know they are capable of winning the national championship obvious Sir they haven't done it yet so make a case that this year and this team Weigand's A. can win and cut down the nets because the field is wide open there hasn't been that way in the past there's about nine teams that can legitimately when it and each of the teams has some vulnerability to them and that's what's made it so wide open but you look at this good magazine this team can play fast which they prefer to do in transition Giuliani is terrific at finishing in transition this team complained half court constructed this team is their frontcourt led by Philip patch yourself who's terrific with his back to the basket can make a fifteen foot jump shot their defense needs to tighten up at times and I think you saw the adjustment tonight which gets me excited about the defense John Ford lit them up for twenty in the first half what they do in the second half when exchanges with the B. ball screens or dribble handoffs they put a bigger guy on him to contain them you couldn't get from there to the ramp and kept him from taking a fifteen foot jump shot but he loves to make and that was the difference in the game always going to win get the free hatchet Donald no violation whatsoever you hear every coach talk about the draw we got a good draw we get through to the dresser okay so what is a bad drop it and what's the matchup for a team or a style that could prevent Gonzaga from getting all the way when you look at any team that has physicality on the inside and I think of a guy like a Xavier Tillman from Michigan state he's physical he pushes you off of your point where you want to post up that's been a problem in terms of philopatry self and a dynamic guard out front who can not only create offense oneself but to create offense for his teammates and you can't think about it anyone in the country better than Cassius Winston at doing so so a team like that this physical insight with the dynamic point guard creates a lot of problems over the course of a forty minute game for kids at the dragon lowering the automatic berth from the west coast conference they won their conference tournament for the eighth time in ten years another match between the Jagga and St Mary's

Sen. Elizabeth Warren holds rally in Detroit on Super Tuesday: 'I'm in this fight'

"CBS news reporters Aykut excuse following Elizabeth Warren's campaign and joins us from Detroit Zach what did Elizabeth Warren tell the crowd in Detroit tonight tonight she told the crowd it would CC's Appling is good a lot of perks hurting in voting in the strategy and essentially looking to pundits or what they should do here you can tell that that affected by what happened yesterday with Joe Biden with all of these more moderate Democrats getting behind admins are funded sago now we have to do something about Bernie Sanders what she's talking about there is more complicated she's really saying now which is the third option in those with Warren who really spent most of this campaign in both of her political career in the very far left end of the party is now in a way sort of moved into the center of the candidates that remain last night during a speech in LA she said it we find ourselves barreling toward another primary long to Spain weighed just twenty sixteen one for an insider and one for an outsider to hear she is saying look I'm not this like one politician who for better or worse has all these connections or has a record like Bernie Sanders the teacher looking very attractive but she's also not Joe Biden he's not a guy who is connected he just wants to go back to the norm she's saying a lot I also want to shake things up I'm not just but ABC family once pre trump White Joe Biden I'm someone who can actually get the things done that separation is talking about know what you have to do at this point it is in the west the results we don't have we need to see her keep up the major delegate states like Texas California we don't know yet with that whether that's going to happen but we do know is she is headed back tonight the Boston if you were to drop out you would think she would do it there in Cambridge where where she lives in a nearby at our headquarters but if not as of now it's a down day and still be hitting the campaign trail again a few days after so but but but the key takeaway from tonight with Elizabeth Warren Beatty said his brother was really stayed on message it was aside from it being a particularly large event and having a good week gates crowd listed in any town hall she was on the stump she was just talking to voters as he typically does which is kind of a typical for a boating night the other very nice she said speech is what he said to re frame thing the only refrain and she was trying to do tonight is that nothing is going wrong or persisting on and we will take this to a team that can magically after transactions were really quick you talked a lot about the messaging there from Elizabeth Warren but symbolically right now in Massachusetts votes still being counted she sitting in third how does she continue in a race where is symbolically you look at our home state and she's in third well I mean as you said some ball cleared that it hurts your narrative the question that is if you can't win in your home state where can you wanted it eighty so it's unfair thing for her if that happens did it during her Senate seat the future I don't know baby at the very least it's really embarrassing and it kind of creates that a mentality of her own to people and constituents no wonder to be president but I would say beyond that at the end of the day maybe that could be the final nail in the coffin it's going to come down to is whether in the states like California Texas she gets enough delegates but her campaign can still push forward with some impact the letter how narrow toward a potential nomination at the convention I think that is the main deciding factor yeah it could be for the case of it's very borderline and I did she also lost Massachusetts that close the door completely all right thank you Zach CBS news reporter Zack deck with the Elizabeth Warren in Detroit and once again it's Kevin pointed out right now more votes still being counted but Elizabeth Warren is running in third place in her home state of

Family with Julia Bradbury

"Bribery tests about your family. My family my lovely family so I am a bit of a late mom I'm a late comer to the game Because it's about having children. Basically I was having such a good time with my career in life that I talked to my mid thirty shit. Guess that's right children something. Something's missing children. That's and I come from a very close family. I went with my sister. Who's actually sitting quietly in the room? Which is a one off. She has made us sit in the corner knight reprints from dirty rotten scoundrels this before we tell them again. Yes I'll sit here so we are very close and my mom and dad were very very gorgeous parent so we've got a very special bond that my parents are still alive. So family is very important to me and I said I'd sort of just lost track of time and thought took him with his children so as it happened. I met the right person to do that with and we tried to have children. Well we had. We had a little boy. I Love News. Boy called SAF eight years ago. Who just was life changing in the way that you know that babies can be for all the good reasons. I'm going to stick with at the moment. Let's not go down the scummy route. Let's stick with and then I was desperate desperate desperate forty so I was really pushing it at that stage and I was desperate for him to have siblings. Because I just thought we're old. We might will die soon. And he's going to be on his own and I didn't want that and then there's I think that just is something in built other friends and women that I've spoken to. You ought to have that feeling where you don't and definitely an internal drive for me. I felt that he needed siblings. So we went on the fruit and that was pretty tricky. I had five rounds of IVF. I've missed miscarriage in the middle of all of that. So I had one night where I was in excruciating pain but didn't know what was going on and actually nothing seemed to be wrong and then I went for a scam for the first week and because I knew that I was pregnant that stage and my my specialist said to me. I'm really sorry. There's no heartbeat unity. The embryo is still in that. So that our hearts go with that process you have it's not cool to DNC anymore. It's called something else. But that's what that's what people would do it. But that's basically they have to remove what's left inside so that was all very traumatic and very sad and I sort of gave myself a few more chances. I thought okay. Well I'll I'll have another. I'll have another go at. I think I ended up having another two goes and on the fifth attempt I was. I mean it's a long story that I won't take everybody down that path but eventually I went to Greece. I took time off from work which I hit never done before. And that's where I found out I was pregnant. Oh which is very lovely because it sort of completes the circle of my heritage as well. That's beautiful so that we now have to live in a lovely way to shit. Valentine father at this stage I worked it out. That's amazing and now I have so now. I have a little boy who's called Zack. Which is efforts which is a great name and he's eight. I have to go digital twin girls who are called Zina Zapped which also great names and they are just five one but come home deep down here. Judy preparation Malaya scummy mummy. Of course. We're all skinny. Oh my God I mean people was asking. What are the advantages of being an older mom? And you got your wise enough experience and you'll financially soul issue free bus. Yeah exactly when he gets a bye but of course you're also a bit more lacquered. Yeah you don't I mean I like to think I've got quite a good imagination on adventures at my kids so we do fun things but I have never ever ever been a morning person even on shoots when I'm filming my crew. No whatever needs to be done I get that done first and then we'll me out of bed. It's just bad my eyes closed. I'm really grumpy. And it's unfortunately parent who did not change sat in any way so scummy. Mummy number one sort of bad trade is on the weekends. I'm very very strict with the kids with screen time and everything but the weekends they know my weak spot so they know that if they come in to me at seven o'clock in the morning and go. Can we watch film? I'm going to roll into the godfather part two is already in the DVD player. Just press play thanks see. Mummy can't now. Yeah so mornings afternoons on your mom you back in the game back in the game. Let's go to the park. Let's you scrabble. Let's let's do just downs. Whatever it is. Let's scrabble in the park. That sounds like a nightmare. One Gust of wind. You'RE GONNA triple word score for you. Chris I was GONNA ask what you'll be gets parenting challenge. It sounds like mornings mornings mornings of my biggest spared but I'm also balancing the work. Work thing my my career is very important to me because it's such a strong part of my identity and obviously done that much much longer than my mom and I also think it's important for my kids to have a role model in terms of working. They're going to have to work. Got Boys and girls and I find my job very fulfilling. It's the grease series of sounds amazing. But that's not just what I do. There are other of the jobs that I do. But it's very satisfying. I'm learning all the time and meet New People time. Yes traveled the world to incredible places. And all of that I think is important knowledge and experience wisdom that I can slowly drip feed down to my mind. Literally so yeah. It's the challenge juggling big on. Have you ever turned up right somewhere to attend program? Which as you know is your job and go night. This is rubbish. Like this is really. This is not expecting this is measurable how am I Gonna? Pretend this is nice for the ten right. So I'm quite lucky now because I'm now because I'm old now because I've been around for a long time. I I can sort of pick and choose my jobs so I get. I'm also very good. I always have a meeting with the production team and get get a first off instinct to feel about what the product is and how it's going to go and whether or not it's something that is this important enough. Am I going to enjoy it? Enough is the satisfaction level and the reward. Onscreen is going to be good enough for me to leave my children at home and let somebody else look after them and if the answer is no then I just do the job

Jackie's Coming Out Story

"Out for. The swearing comes Jackie. Haiku poet Comedian Anthony. To Mak- she grew up in skelmersdale in northwest England. I'm just white hair about her. First sheltered crushes. I think she's the first person that's ever taught me about being attracted to an object couple of into this. Well I always take the bisexual box literally but the small size ends than that isn't the I like. The word Queer is on fire with an lots waves produced Survive Queen just meaning like fucking things off like an assault of of quite like you know doing it wrong for any sort of purposeful goods. Why saw linked to and GAL rank had to go wrong. Even crepe wrong lights disabled wrong so that people can say me so got one leg and so I- folk that applied instead of being like the. Oh God of Gotland Lego. Pull me or you know whatever light the thing that people expect to be as I do like stump poetry. An you'd like you know you've got to get a celebrity is obviously so it's like things to fuck shit open. A really goes. Why THEM OPENLY SURF expectation? So that's your favorite subject to them. Basically yeah yes. That's what it's called like. Calm Yourself Queer. Because that's what I'm about ways so alike but then when you say queer people like what does she really mean. What's the real sexuality as if it's an umbrella term that means nothing? I don't think that I love it so then you like you're right. Yeah you just want to know. What jets wholesome into his own? Yeah so I mean some yeah. Yeah so all of them all of them and then as problem as advice actual isn't words now. It's the the problem of sexual I mean. A lot of people now are saying Pan Sexual as opposed to vice may be in the past. Marta said bisexual this big shift. Isn't that the problem with bisexual? So people again and a couple of ood might people's on from scam in Wigan listen cone means like he got he got gangrene loving bisexual because of buy into so people like that means that you only like men and women. I'm by taming. You hate transpeople. Or You are an unseen. Non Binary so. That's absolute bollocks. You know historically bisexual people of been translated some advice on use of limited space. It's not like Oh you're bisexual you've got twice. The amount of exceptions gay people hate you straight people here generally people just keep the fucking down which at some yes so historically. It's like being bisexual rights. I don't care about being accepted by any of the group of people Which is true as well of being non binary and Trans and you know occupying all. I'm spices song. Yes was bullshit just because just because the prefix by means ten means that people can really like so fixate on the Ron and going Oh do you know what this represents people and people more complicated than that? By definition you probably would identify as being panned. But you'll just quite happy using by sexual stuff is just like the underdog. I just wanted to defend the word bisexual. Rarely saw stay with it and also I just saw a fought for inside and outside to me. That's because it's you're yourself as well an fought for it for so long about. Just give it all you know so. We'll just fight the case for because there's a lot of sex was out there but the core find not enough people put their head over the parapet and go. Yes me. I'm bisexual. Well exactly. Yeah and especially when you've got a platform if you perform in some sense because you don't know that she giovanna you're gonNA pay the rent Matassa if you like. Oh Yeah Bisexual and the streets you folks on what Stacey Wipe People's so it was sort of come to the conclusion that you were by social what was like my first crush was multiple. Was on tremendously Sasi. Yeah like h three with multiple. I was very very politically correct when it was on the way. Multiple glomma model lovable and Rambo. Rambos Rob Rumba Joe Jr so take like Kinsey. You know it was the people you love some crushing Mongo. I'm moms what you call this. Big Massive St that Intel from the way of Santana big massive tape Zack. Were get so plus plus two. What about the guests that was in there with the group? I was as a Christian Catholic blaster as well. Okay well. This is moving into a whole news. Fair inanimate objects as well well you'll stay. There was just so didn't have any I mean. I think I haven't changed that much since I've lived like quite hard life but in another way quite charmed life because of never rarely socialized. I've never had an office job. I add my parents who great I was never really told off. Fancying ghetto blaster. So we're never stops at quick fair enough check. And you're the first person that's come out. Mister trump's object today like you. I didn't know that you sexually with age child. You wouldn't really so. When was the first time you sort of articulated that and said maybe to your family or someone that union Joran advance and Brooke signs and at been getting the balls up phrases. Well I should suppose that was some some of whom Ananta parents and it didn't say to them moms odds I'm bisexual because it sounds to sexual you know like even just saying the words something sexual Siemens feels embarrassing society as well. He's just embarrassed. The rivalry so aside at the the girl saying I'm not my friends. That's my girlfriends. Go thirteen year. But she wasn't she didn't really like me. That's why USC skips over at nine nine thousand virus so you were having a relationship with not just it was you liked to. I live in a world of delusion. It's like even citizens vets-go angle most the most the reality of this because one year reis from performing you re rice life the narratives in your own life because you use it using the angle. What really happened so at thirteen? There was a girl at school. Presumably that you liked. Did you tell her that you know I was studying like everyone I think is? Is that my sexuality? Always been like a won't the elicit thing on the saying I'm not meant today once a Catholic school. So maybe that's so you're not meant to go out with women but then once so as like very established in the lesbian community. It's like Oh you're allowed to go out with women now. So that's not fun anymore for how Lesbians Hate is shackled men. Let's go to that and then once it was like Oh Giannis just bisexual or okay. So now I'm allowed to Shag out everyone on so where to go. Now so did you. Really get flack from les pins than for food. Let me yeah. Yeah Yeah I was angry. Sort of twenty something. You get more people on the late. I didn't see you face. Those quad knock ECOWAS land. I wasn't this wonderful chairman. Of course you got loads of like bi phobia. I go threatened and stuff life performance pride and do stuff about bisexuality and go like threatens and the Beer Garden say threatens me and you know when you think Oh my God. I'm going to get my kicks usually annoyance and like some people get an annoys for being in Chris Vices or existence in general and then you got like straight people alike. Think just think that it means the Kinky and you WanNa go fronts while I watch so. Why is it so difficult for people to comprehend? I've never really understood. It's just proud. People love binary is learning. People are obsessed with like extremes. The idea that the world's and people are just very gray area and everything's fluid scares the shit our people because humans needs the categorize things like pick a solid any side. Exactly you feel miserable. Yeah it's just don't give a Shit. Choose one very very similar to the football analogy. Yeah it's interesting. I know why phobia exists. I've certainly dated a lot bisexual. Men over the years and a half off lesbian friends. Turn around and go Emma. Why are you bothering? Yeah and the assumption is. They'll never commit to you. Because in the end of the day they will go up and find him on these sump. Shen and then I guess in straight world. The assumption is for men that you're going to go off and leave them for women so you can just want you have kinky sacks. Yeah yeah difficult so you haven't told me yet. The conversation over brookside. What happened to be here for us? So let's go back in time and they were just like okay. It wasn't a difficult kid but I was fucking whimsical. You know thought could fly. It was a more lowest much so they were just like okay okay. I think they saw us. It was a phase but because it was a faizy kid not because they were pricks. And you said you couldn't say reverse bisexual. So how did he phrase it? What did he say? I sat this girl. I such as my girlfriend but then you start talking about what she really Alfred portion on you have to keep coming out so it was. It was years I was being bisexual. I would say it was bisexual swell the people and then Owens University and I was so excited about joining and it was just the algae bay then feel old. I was so excited about being around people and then I got there and it was like Oh okay. You know survival instincts that sends us and you like folk. I should say. Espn so then. There was a lesbian to try. And Fa these people are whenever fest with anyway so it was more of a class thing than a sexual thing but anyway he didn't think that except you. All-Star Bam Adebayo Heats Up Miami

"That was the sound of Miami Heat Center Bam Outta Bio doing what he does best destroying souls the court now in its third year. Outta BIOS had a breakout season. Earning his first all star berth and leading the heat to a surprising start today. Espn Zach Lowe brings us the story of one of the NBA's rising superstars and tells us why not everyone saw this coming. I mean at times. It's Friday February fourteenth this is espn daily presented by ADT. Isak Meena thanks for doing this. Oh my pleasure. I like small third time. That means I'm not blowing it. Debbie's whatever the numbers say. I'm not blowing Zach Lowe is an NBA insider for ESPN. His latest piece is a profile of Miami Heat. All-star Bam Auto Bio Zach. We're coming up on the All Star game and one of the first timers this year is Bam Outta bio the Miami Heat Center. Who's in his third season has really emerged as a star? Why did you decide to write about him? I like to write one or two of these a year and I really top out at two. Because they're they're so time consuming and they take so under a port as you know but I like writing about people it's it's one of the easiest and hardest things to do right. I've come to find the sweet spot to really hit in the NBA for players is like between the fifteenth and fortieth best player in the league. Like the top fifteen guys. You're never you just don't get access to them unless you've known them for years and years and years and anything after thirty five or forty you run into like why am I reading about this guys. He that interesting for casual fans it has to be a player that I like is a player. I don't want to write about someone who's game. I just think is empty calories or whatever like I want to write about someone who I think is really good and maybe under appreciated. That's the kind of sweet spot of guy for me. So why do you like Bama's player? Big Guys who can pass are like my siren song. I I love big guys who can pass and when you watch this guy play defense even more than the defense into speed honestly is the rebounding Joe Harish for through and timed his. Jump Perfectly Blue Ray through the clouds for each verse defensive rebound in the afternoon he gets these rebounds where there's like four people under the rim jostling for position and they all jump and then from somewhere else flies in this gigantic guy with these hands that must be made of. I don't know whatever's the strongest possible material that you can make and the ball goes into this crowd of four guys and then this other guy. Just snatches it away like it's nothing. He makes the kind of place where they're winning. Plays and if they come at the right moment and a game. They're like a Gut Punch to the other team. So Zack you head down to Miami to spend time with Bam is friends and his family to get a sense of who he is. Where does history? Begin? It begins with his father leaving their family when his mother wanted to move to rule North Carolina and out of Newark New Jersey and they lived in a single wide trailer in the middle of nowhere in North Carolina and his mom as a cashier at like a meat. Grocery store kind of thing. Earning about twelve thousand dollars a year after taxes. And then all of a sudden she had a son who was twelve years old and six six and could dunk. What was it like for him? You know growing up in that trailer with his mom and no one else. You know when you're a kid you just don't think it's anything right like you don't think it's it's different or whatever. He had a sense that it was hard for his mom and that her schedule was crazy and that they didn't see each other much because their schedules didn't overlap the right way but he was happy at a lot of friends. You know it was fine but he did say by age thirteen or fourteen. You Begin to realize that this is a hard life that this adult like who you just kind of looked at. Is your mom like every other mom has a job and leaves the House. And all that that it's it's hard for her and that they don't have a lot and that she works really really hard for for what they have and that's what drove him. That's where he says he got his ambition and his anger and his desire to succeed was when he realized. My Mom's life is hard. She's tired a lot and I see that and I want to change that winded it. I become apparent to him and his family that playing basketball might be a viable career for him. Once he started playing organized basketball is not till like twelve thirteen fourteen. He picked things up really fast. And you had good natural instincts and good natural footwork by fourteen fifteen. He's on the map of all the big colleges and by the time he's junior mark godfried is helicoptering in to recruit to NC state in like Landon helicopter the field of their school. What was he like a high school player? A monster. An absolute monster have regular forty twenty games just like he was just huge. These teams in rural North Carolina. Couldn't do anything with six eight dude who could dunk? But he was incredibly unselfish. He loved playing point guard. He loved passing two people and keeping them involved. He didn't want to be the guy. Averaging Forty fifty game and putting up numbers there was a story about a guy on the end of the bench who finally got into game. All Bam did was get offensive rebounds and try to pass it in the week at score so Bam grows up in a trailer with a single mom and discovers. He's freakishly good basketball when it comes time to select a college. He chooses that. I'll take more time to University of Kentucky. How does that go first? So when you win big guys get to Kentucky and this was most famously done with Karl Anthony. Towns cal says this cool you can shoot threes like it's cool you can pass and like run the offense but like we have the Aaron Fox we have Maliki Monk. You don't get to do any of that here. My thing for him get and then. Let's really get you to play the way you're capable. You're going to set screens. You'RE GONNA post up. You'RE GONNA GET REBOUNDS YOU'RE GONNA play defense can do big man stuff because if you go to the NBA. You'RE GONNA have to that stuff well before you get to do the other stuff and so- Bam that's cool like you brought the ball up. You played point guard. Like you're not GonNa get to do that here. He would just say yeah. You know I'm just GonNa do my work like I trust cal. Cal has a record of getting these big guys drafted really hi? I'm working in practice behind. Closed doors on all the fancy stuff. Whatever it takes to win whatever cow says is good for me. I'm going to do and like I'm not going to get frustrated by it. So while he was doing all the big man's stuff and games he was working on his guard skills at practice. Yup in drills with Kenny Pain. Who's an assistant? Kentucky's very close to them. At night he would come back to the and do that. He would shoot jump shots which I. I don't know if you even shot a single three at Kentucky. I haven't checked. Even if scouts didn't see all of it to coaches and scouts would come visitor pick their brains about Bam and whether they should draft him. They would all tell them. Just be aware what you're seeing in. Games is not the full extent of what this kid can

Some different fights turned it on that that kind of stuff that we would glorify now in almost castrates money for doing. I probably happened weekly. Oh Yeah Yeah you know. He was talking about Did something where he jumped out of the helicopter in like one hand roped it down and the Jaakko is like sounds like a movie man that this is Sally. And he's like yeah I know he was like we were just doing shit like that man and I was like my God I do. I mean imagine. We're in Afghanistan and you decide. "The with the Saturday cyber division is sort of attract people from different jobs. Like not your sex military type of demographics flu left field and it worked in a salt. That like those type of people to come in and everybody has this idea that if you're in the military you're gonna be out fielder stuff is that is not everybody's job number two. We're just talking about that like literally. What yesterday the day before they brought these dudes in from cyber south field cyber is and their trust you? It's it's like the most additive branch shelter now in terms of in terms of what they do urges let civilians to accept what I'm probably hearing from. This maddest thing I think is that they understand it. There's probably a pool of individuals that are better suited or be thinking other they want to bring in a central tract greytown. I think it's smart and got of all. Yeah I mean I think the real the big thing now is that they're trying to hold onto what they have. Because you see a Lotta guys from our generation that Kinda did Maybe maybe nine years ten years were Kinda like for me a buddy that we follow on instagram He was in ranger bat up at Lewis and he was like. Yeah Man. This is just not for me anymore. Like I'm just I there's no re I don't have any stay in. I don't have the drive anymore. He got out and lives in Pittsburgh now and he Trains people on weapon systems. But I I think a lot of guys from the combat idolise were taking just feels that they were learning in the army and hopping out Glenn civilian side with it because it wasn't making much sense to stay in at the point. Yes yes he does back to for Florida. Are you drinking injuring Lacroix. You know I am do happy..

"But I think that you and I both found that when we drove corvette back to back with the Vara at road and track performance car of the year. Those are cars for a different buyer. That it's if you actually spend ten minutes or fifteen minutes driving each of those cars. What each of those cars delivers ever? You probably would not have a hard time deciding which one of them you wanted. Absolutely yeah different size different weight. Yeah the Koretz more comfortable but you know because has it has to be and there's so many other considerations for that market the the Sulu little quieter about its business but a little more engaging and fun on in lively. Yeah yeah definitely more racy. Watch the Avar I think is more racy though. Yeah I mean let's just sit in in it. Yeah well yeah. The whole thing aims that like I don't know if you have you have the love of traditional driving main transmission steering his power but likes. They are linear it's powered but The power really dies off if you once you go past like parking lot speeds. You can hear these super charger whistle behind you like it. I don't know it to it Connected all those little bits like I like about driving that. That kind of canyon manner or tight. Track Manner Yeah in the corvettes like you could drive a two thousand miles and then if you want to drive it felt like it would be at home on like a Daytona road course versus the Laura might be more like a streets of willow. I agree I totally agree leaning a little more room to run. Yeah wider and maybe longer than any of our measure. It's a little bit bigger. It is bigger. I think for sure the behind you. There's more behind space behind you. Yes the S. one was cool also did s VJ roadster. which pretty much? which I mean I hate to say? It's what you'd expect. But I mean it's a it's a seven hundred seventy horsepower. top-down event the door with you know shoots fire and Shit launched control was like you know. I don't usually pull clips just to put on my instagram from from your video. It's a four wheel drive traffic and stuff but it was just does do that. Yeah and actually if you turn traction control all all the way off can you flat foot the one two shift. It will spin all four wheels at speed as well one to just slams the clutches just like go. Yeah Yeah so cool they've they have really dragged this gearbox out as long can it's amazing because like you know when you banged hanged shifts at full throttle course mode feels kind of like racecar. Guests are angry fucking violent but like it. Does that like all the time or even worse if you turn off the violence put in the street motor turn off the violence and you're not but it's not smoother it's just less violence like it feels like a person taking a real long time to move a stick shift like it's kind of like you have to be like McLaren. Seven Twenty Thousand Exists Mclaren seven twenty dozen exists the McLaren. You know what I mean. Well would you. Would you say that these are aimed at different markets. I mean there's definitely overlap because it's you know roof down supercar but like this is the extroverts super hybrid car is the engineers even though it is vehicle. Want people staring at yeah to have this. Because it's it's so silly. Like how many hurricanes do you see in Los Angeles angels that are black or silver. I saw they're always black than it was pretty loud like colors they're like blues and Greens and other things because they think the people who buy them want to be noticed. And that's why you're driving that car. Lambeau embraces skittles colors. Yeah for sure and asks. Vj should be skills colors too. I think big but it's just so it's so funny like because I like it. I Like I love this car. I thought it was fucking hysterical. But it's so so funny like I will put up with anything I'll put up with the CLUNKY USB enter. Have you ever used apple carplay without a touch screen. Kinda uh-huh Girl Dako- through thanks I. This hasn't six hundred thousand dollars. You plug in. They added a USB port. Finally it's by the passenger footwell. See Plug in a USB port and car play. It has carplay but it's not a touchscreen so you have to scroll and Click so they've taken taking the menus of smartphones but then Attached it to the usability of like a remote control TV It's really strange but I'll forgive all that shit because I think because the sound I mean it just makes the craziest sounds you know. The engine is so nuts You know eighty five hundred horsepower. I'm sorry eight. Five hundred PM fuck you do. You have sound on this listen. This is a launch control. Off of Zack's Zach's instagram. So that muted. No Oh it vodka's happens here. You fucked up. I did you fucks it up It's it's got sort of like because it's you know it's got like a proper to step in an almost no I don't know keep talking and also like it's it wrought. Here's what's crazy about it. Even the raciest you know nurburgring special events door rides ben the Laura but listen to the the Jerky of what I want to uh you can hear it how slow the shifts are and that's that's in full like full kill mode so but nevertheless despite fight that I think the vendor. There's.

There's there's things that i sell the michael jordan of bressler collecting. I've heard <hes> <hes> but something like that. I wouldn't sell like i would sell the hawkins one if i thought it but not this act on a big family i know i know i collect all his merchandise tonight's now. Did you go through a period of time in your life where your family or your friends where you're too old to still be collecting of course i when i was in high school or in college allerg- like i was embarrassed to collect i would go to toys r. us and always that give receipt you know what i'm saying. Oh yeah yeah when they going to. Do you want to give her seat and you're like yes. Of course i mean these kids eh me but now i don't give a damn. I the podcast that you know. I'm making a second living off toys. It is nice when you get to a place where you don't care because i remember when when i was in college that's when the classic superstars came out and when the two packs came out i was in syracuse and i was like i gotta go to the toys r. us in syracuse and they had that first wave okay which was rockers l._s._d. And the hart foundation and they had all three and i was like oh my god and not only was i like grab mall right away. I had to go by myself. Obviously i can tell the other people but i was so excited about it that you wanna talk about it like you want to tell somebody i just found the two packs and there was just nobody that i could tell without seeming seeming like a total outcast and that's how i initially bonded with hawkins is because we hated each other when we first met a wrestling school because reach of this competition but then when we realize oh my god you're eighteen eighteen and you still play was wrestling for years to finally somebody by the way you didn't just say you still collect wrestling. Please just fed for sure okay i. I no longer fig fed at eighteen i did i did yeah. I think yeah for sure i told myself i was just practicing spots for wrestling school in my head. I think it kind of ended when bone crunchers ended got all the titan and i kind of messed around with them but in terms terms of like i had a fig fed where i had like i would write down the match cards like the notebooks like every card thing i would do four ross and then a pay per view four ross and then it pay overview but i think so whatever year titan try and kicked off. That's when i started to kind of i think it was because the figures sucks so much that i was like i can were so bad except the ventures good vince was good. I that's the vince i have undeclared tie into glacier right now. That's a good that's the best tried vince the original great all jacked act up and stops yeah. It's perfect but the rest are terrible. Billy god is so bad. Who do you talk about wrestling with your sam. Nobody nobody nobody now have your interview of the day. Probably the lowest like views on whatever channels is going on the most interesting although i the truth was just talking about god knows what okay all right <hes> did you have. You been surprised at the people that you've talked in the locker room because you've had guests on the show that all have figure stories as well. Are you surprised at how outward they are with that stuff about how you've got. You and hawkins have kind of opened up that world to the rest of the locker room being like oh yeah we did this to. I think it's a different era when hogs and i got on the main roster in two thousand thousand seven..

"It's, it's just me and the Zack in studio, this is the super show. I guess we can call it because although I haven't recorded it at the time, I'm recording this intro, I suspect one day after the embargo there will be a lot to talk about regarding the Supra. He goes into the bull Durham. Really strange. Kevin costner. Yeah. There's a fun world. World accents in movies. And that's definitely that's gotta be one of them, but it's not as it can't be worse than put the Benny Bank. In the bigs was. That's nNcholas cage attempting to have a deep southern accent while getting mad at John Malkovich who holding his daughter's stuffed bunny on air. Yeah, that's, that's much worth it. The Benny it's act. It's tempting to be southern but it actually sounds like doing a forest Gumbo. Yeah. Like a Forrest Gump thing he does Elvis meets Forrest Gump yachts, real fucking bad real bad that movies in that video as well. Yeah. Follow my ass on Instagram.
