Top 5 Bar Fights // Minding The Gap, They Shall Not Grow Old, Free Solo
Don't you? Never my singing. Yeah. Phil Philadelphia one. That is I'm measuring for today. Tough by bar fights, not done this. We have fights in general. We did fights. I pulled that list of yours and mine saw over those what other fights could there be? I'm not gonna live whether fights can you do. Pop topics on family fights, family fights. You want wanna my list county of those county automatically lose guy. I do county like one three four five. Your family almost I'd have a different one in a different movie for to you. See you got clips hooks clips, they're all very visual. They're very visual. There's a lot of lead up to some of the fact my favorite one with the up. I almost went clip, but would have. We'll take too long rent taking too long. They all traditional bar fights. If it turns into a shootout, I'm out. It's gotta be fisticuffs. It's gotta be, you know, the bare knuckle, maybe there's some Q accuser involved to they'll take place in sticks or pub. Yes, right. Yes. Minor a couple of different places. They're all bar setting a couple that I almost included. But I'm like is that a bar? I see them drinking, but like one particular involved Jackie Chan, but it was like a gang hideout. Okay. I wanted to include it just to make fun of the scene. It's bad times. You're gonna have to stretch your imagination that with a couple of months? When asked these people in these characters scenes, hey, Where'd you get in the fight? They would say bar, and then that explain a little more. Okay. So okay. Phone the category. Hey, we got business delay care of you. Do care of your brainchild. So why don't you step up to the plate there? So ranch south got. Oh, I got a little moving thing. World premiering up in Redwood City Silicon Valley March ninth that's Saturday every about heart Osam tail count arch tenth that will be playing the following day at five pm in San Jose at a very large beautiful historic theater that holds twelve hundred people. So you can see it either one of those days or you can see the following Friday playing March fifteenth back in Redwood City, so it's Cinna west all three times. Thank you very much guys for leaving comments and making the movie seem as important as it possibly can. Because I'm looking at feel like groupers is the only one getting comment. So why don't we keep that trend going cool one hundred and ten comments? Ten comments right now. But it'd be sweet tab one hundred plus you know, what I mean? And nobody else anyways. Brian said, hey, I'm going to be up there. Thanks, brian. It's in his yard. But my book the nonrefundable flight it's in his backyard where Brian grew up in the next town over and he he's coming out. And then he said, hey, you know, what we should do is. Maybe we should think about doing a live show. Well, I took the ball and ran with it. I got a lot of experience with the private screenings that I did over the summer, and we got in touch with a guy who Brian claims to be a fan of something. He's he claims to be a fan of this is the show of the program. Yeah. So I got into talking to Lou stories of the giants long story short. We have secured ourselves a tight little space a brewery. I don't want to give out the exact Todd the space at the moment because I can't remember devil. Something else canyon. Okay. Okay. In San Carlos the home off the birthplace of on purpose. But the home town of Kathryn Bigelow from zero dark forty also Paul Brian Durden zero dark thirty thirty said forty. It's zero dark thirty. Near darks where he should have got anyway. So from two PM till five pm, we have this space. What are we to do in this space? You ask Brian and aren't going to be there. Well, we're just going to be hanging out of the bar like looking like schlub show some home movies. The town of San Carlos. I don't know if you shoot. Okay. There was shot very town. If you could do some editing sit through like really born issues eight year old birthday party. So as here's the here's the plan right now to o'clock doors open we start checking people in. If you wanna come to this live event, and then I'm probably gonna show one of the short sounds Brian's going to be showing some bathtub movies of self as a child I had moved there on fourth grade. So this show shut about the I'm gonna show one of the shorts. Six minutes short beforehand and then right around two three o'clock. We're going to begin the program. We're going to actually do a live film bowl. It's going to be very the patriots. It could be we're going to record it and we're going to. Yeah. I asked that. It was my final question. Lou. I said now a random slugs going to be sitting at the bar annoyed by us. So I think that our space is probably I think we got a private space, and we'll be regular episode that will go up in the feed, which will be great. And then when it's all said and done before as we and the show, I won't crude you to stick around, and I will show the cult of Coronado on the screen. They're attest. It's going to be an event it's gonna be a great time come on out if you'd like fifteen dollars or how much the tickets cost to help us because we had to pay for this. And we have a bar. Minimum again, which is always scary for me ever since. I I that bit me in the ass and San Diego. Remember to pay twelve hundred dollars. Yeah. So we have a bar minimum. Oh, good news, though, if you're a patriot subscriber, it's ten bucks dollar ticket. So get your five dollar monthly fee worth. I know how exactly I'm gonna work out as far as proof and whatnot. But if you're patron click on the ten dollar links. So there's going to be wings on my website Anderson, Cowan dot com. You'll have access to do pay pal which can you know, allow you to do credit card or you can do van MO if you like I'll give you a couple of options up there. It'd probably Anderson Cowan dot com story while send people can go there. We'll put it put it on. Then mohan. We'll have it on. I Anderson Brian dot com to you. But if you want if you wanna come out if you're gonna be out there anyways for for the world premiere. Thank you very much. Let's make an event that's making the day. So. By the way, if you're if the nine fifteen pm screening of groupers, which you should absolutely go to if that's too too difficult for you have knife. Fifteen just gonna walk on a on on Saturday for some reason kids, the two o'clock three o'clock thing in the afternoon in San Carlos accessible by all points in the bay far. Is that from a Redwood City? It's ten minutes if that, okay? All right. Very, and then there's plenty of options to come out and say groups if you like also playing like, I said, the giant California figure Westwood to century. So let's let's have some fun. Real literally homecoming screening that I've I've been involved with obviously that I have no idea behind the curtain. I've no idea how many people buy tickets number of you of emailed me or tweeden me semi messages one way or another. You gotta stick it. But I have no idea how many people have gotten tickets for this for the actual screening. So he's out to our live hit at devils. Game by Anderson of beer, which you probably won't finish remains my it's my world premiere that night. So I gotta stay shot hovering rank going to have like four hours in between. So maybe I can go back to wherever I'm staying sober up. A little good point because our lender on five and you're screening is at nine little get dinner. If they'd like to go home get chain. Right, right. But there's a lot of time or San Carlos is right across the San Mateo bridge or the Dumbarton bridge coming in from out of town to bridge. Okay. Let's get to Barbara. But before let's get to little flick fan show home. I will not be one of my finest Soad's, I explained to you. My my. Emergency last night. God Brian Brian Burton little hand. And he's going to say that he didn't have time to watch them Cup. The majority of by even I saw the movies. I didn't dive deep inside she. But the good news. It's going to be like business as usual address. I'll be top leveling it. The good news innocent two movies. I saw that you saw able to help me out. I don't count on it. You'll be able to say you would three documentaries is how this week all very very g very you've got problems with there. We talk narratives we'll trying to catch up on some of these Oscar movies such as mining the cat. My the gap mending that Gabar minding the gap is twenty thousand film direct by Bing, Liu is one hundred ten on rotten tomatoes has also nominated for best documentary. Thanks place in Rockford Illinois law about. It's about two two and a half three, miscreants, the third guys behind the camera being Lou. But it's about about those two Zach Kierra his. Diva's a blocked velo whose name is spelled K E. I R careful about the curate or it's care. They said like peer, but they misspelled anyway. All the shit about your three documentaries by list. I got to two documentaries and Zach is lifelong friend Zack is white. And he is he opened the story his wife or girlfriend she's pregnant with their first child. And he's he's kids, man. Yeah. Maybe early mid twenties they're younger than that. I think it is under employed. Zach is he's a roofer. But not like known nose on business. He's he's he's a funk strappy scraping. These Chris gets really good. Yeah. They connect over skateboarding. And initially I was a little bit resistant to this documentary because I don't have an affinity for store that a lot of God, another skating video. I don't wanna watch as culture there was way too much skating. But what skiing was great let story the story and the interaction between Zach and key air and Zack's girlfriend and the director being Liu and his mom takes a lot of things unfold. There's this left term pretty hard left turn around the hour. Mark. I don't know if it's love turns hard, it's hard. They they all have this thing in common that the documentary kind of it's kind of Hoop Dreams ish. And then it's says about this sport. And about these kids trying to you know, to be good at this thing. But it's really about their life and their struggles, and what life is like in Rockford rockford's, apparently, not a great place. Mine. Mine. He lives, I think twenty minutes. Fifteen eighty to fifteen twenty minutes from it not too far from and he goes through it all the time. And he tells me he's not a big fan of it. Erin, my buddy Aaron Kessler, not not he says that this is bad as it is in the documentary dropping that you're not pulling punches Zak, the kind of guy who went when he when he describes you know, his how has it just been going for about his wife is pregnant and the judgment to having a kid. He explains he's like you're going to have to grow up man can trigger twelve every night. What's true true? If you weren't drinking twelve every night perhaps prepared for fatherhood, which ends up being the case the first hour this film. I was kind of like, okay, I've seen this movie for this is like a watered down version of kids right as similar characters. It's it's like a documentary version of mid-nineties, which is very watered down version of kids from the mid nineties, ironically. And and then there's this. I don't know why you're giving this to me but at a run the hour marker. So the movies pretty far. Along. When all of a sudden being loose starts being more present. And he throws his mom on camera. And she's the only non skater of girlfriends. She does not belong in this world. We realized that his mom, and it's kind of like putting her on the spot on camera saying, hey, how are you cool with your new husband, my stepdad beating the shit outta me? When I was a kid, and she's exceptional uncomfortable and starts crying. And that's where it really took a turn. And then it began being Lou came out and started saying, hey, this movie, the reason why making this because I'm trying to get to the bottom of like domestic violence on telly with didn't feel like it was a hard semantics because the movie does say, hey, left turn about our biggest problem ease into because all three of the voice had this in common amazing the seat pointed out, I sort of. In a micro sets. I understood the skating world a little bit more that these kids looked skating as an escape, and they had this common thing. Of course, they love skateboarding. But also, you know, had this troubled home life that made them what to spend more time flipping their boards off of scalpels stairs rundown. You know at home while skating cultures so much different than like organized sports. And I've done both. I was in both worlds. I had one foot each world. I wanted it to be full-time in the skating world. But I had a militant father who demanded that I play organized sports. So I was doing that until I got severely injured and couldn't move on those days as well. That's when I really went off the deep end sophomore year in high school when I couldn't play organized sports anymore. But. Yeah. It's a totally different culture. And you know, obviously it at attracts a much different individual for sure usually more individual thought is occurring within that group usually anti authority, and yeah, all damaged goods. I don't think any my skater friends were like, you know, they came from a nice home. We were all damaged because it's to that point. These kids are all sort of, you know, fit that description this around that Mark this sort of ceases being a movie about skateboarding almost abandoned skateboards very much in the background different movie. Yet the cycle of abuse. The with the mom like a super compelling. It's a really good documentary streaming on Hulu, I don't know can get anywhere else. All locked up right now imagining they'll you know maximize their efforts. I don't know. I don't know how they could actually play this because they might just play our ball. And be like if you want to see this movie that might win best documentary, especially if a wins, can you imagine I don't think it will feels like it's a very very good. But a long shot. It didn't feel like I really well planned out executed documentary. A lot of luck occurred here. The kid knows what he's doing good skater. And he's he's good on the camera. But it was very fortunate. He was friends with them to open up a lot honestly without key air who is the the black that you mentioned earlier without him in this movie. I liked this movie half as much he was a lot of the movie for me. He was such a great characters engaging very engaging and his plight as the only black dude is in his group showed him hanging out with his brother a little bit. But then it's brother turns out to be a piece of shit stole from. Yeah. So, but like there's that that tried so hard to keep on the straight narrow, you know, what I mean like, he's got the the trouble home line. There's that one shot where they don't really allude to kind of comes and goes, but really stuck with me where like his friends girl in a couple of other all white dude's, maybe. Yeah. All white, and they're watching YouTube Mike viral video. And in the end words being thrown around, right? Yeah. And he's just kind of off to the side like uncomfortable. A cow. My supposed to you don't really it was really funny. So that that's what sticks with me more than anything else with this. And in his personality. I love that kid. I love that the sex me more is also about care, but it was the foot if it was a little kid early in the film where I think as brothers kind of messing with them like maybe beating about the little better. Bullying him and knocks him down and care, obviously, fueled by this, you know, tumultuous life is impotently trying to smash aboard just jumping up a little giddy. Like eight years old he ought to be. So he can only do so much and he just trying to get all his rage. I try smashes board eventually his rage gives gives in a little bit embarrassment, and he's like because in front of the bunch of people. Now, he's I tried to smash the board because he's been trying to smash the board. I starts out Rachel, then it's like. Just have fun. I'll be like the the rodeo clown. What was the name of the other guy? Scott Zach Zach and Zack piece of shit piece of shit guy. But he's got there's something about him. He's got it. Like, you can't eat, this charisma. He's got charisma and you feel for him. But you know, you put that on the charisma-free fuck, you know, the same behavior, and you're just like, oh that kid's a piece of shit. Documentaries. A good job of making me sympathetic towards a person like Zakho normally would not have my sympathy for but they did that himself to just by being themselves. Explain explain his backstory, and you're like, yeah. This guy struggle, and he'd like he this is also a picture of a young man, you know, a growing into adulthood. He's kind of he's struggling with, you know, should he be involved in his kids life? How much if at all the right till the very end I liked them too. When he when he's fucking around on the on his worksite, and that old guy passes them remember that the very end credits. This liquor in this is that one no. Alley and some like older guy just like walk by. Cameron. He plays to the camera. All right. Very good documentary. Minding the gap. It's kind of a shame that it's locked up on the Hulu over there. But I know a lot of you, listen listeners Hulu, so free trial, which I'm currently in just minding the gap. So I I did it also watch the clue which killer and they pulled. It's no longer there. I watch something else on who is now gone, right? I don't know what that is. That was it. Thank you. Well, then also this just in I had planned big plans. Bryant to come in here and talk a little the house, Jack built movie that has long been on my radar been meaning to watch LARs van tears, two and a half hour saga with Matt Dillon plane, a serial killer, and it's supposed to be gruesome an awful, and there's a lot of controversy around it when my wife, I heard about it when it was playing Hans back in April or may or whatever it was she forbid me forever watching it from ever watching it, obviously that doesn't fly with me. I'm we'll watch this movie, LARs, van sure, of course, director of many films, namely antichrist's, which is a recurring theme on this show. However in digging in digging just last night, I was gonna try and Sweden last night before the show two nights ago. I realized oh look at this. The truncated version is available right now for rent for seven bucks. The full version is supposed to be released in Jews which has four four and a half grizzly minutes. Inserted that that were originally there that he had to pull to make get the R rating. So if I'm going to go deep, I'm gonna go ahead and headfirst into the fucking thing, which I'm not looking forward to even though I've been told, and I'm gonna love it. If I if you look at it as a comedy, perhaps, I don't know I'm not gonna I'm not gonna half ass it. You know what I'm saying? I'm so I'm full thing. Yes. I'm not gonna watch until June. Probably. So that was a non nonfiction Dow's non flick. I did see a film day shall not. This is a science Yoko. It's up we both thought. So let's talk about eight shell not grow old. I was very excited the Brian sign this to me been wanted to watch this one. And it's been a looting me because it has not been Flynn plane, very odd, very many places, and it's kind of pops up and goes away pops up. Luna runs. You see this three D or tutti regular? That's yeah. I did too. I want to drive many many towns relation was enough. Yeah. Anymore with three D would've added a fucking thing. I don't know why they're doing it any documentary about World War One with never before seen footage to commemorate the centennial of the end of the war. The war was what nineteen nineteen? It was there that short who seven year long. Maybe I'll look it up. Was it? Peter Jackson, the credit director because he had the little preamble before might the did you have in yours. What do you mean? Is he the director someone else shot the footage, obviously? Well, yeah. He's a credit. I didn't watch the credits. What's that movie though? Settle. Yeah. Yeah. No. I understand is in. No if he took directing credit on this one. He absolutely did they assigned him. They said, hey, look, we got a bunch of historical World War One footage in our annals. And we don't really we know we want to do something special for the centennial. But we're not sure what I want you. Go out there. Yeah. So he thought long and hard and the idea that came up with was what we saw which was to color is it bring it to life. And I I'm I'm not surprised, but I'm very disappointed that you didn't stick around for the thirty minutes that. It was a mini dock where he was ten. I was ten has good is the documentary. It was fantastic. I'll tell you about what you missed subpoena. Jackson ninety eight percent around tomatoes curiously not nominated for best documentary. Did you research into why I heard that in submitted either in time or they didn't submit why not not up for best documentary? But could have definitely been a contender. I found it to be more enters fascinating exercise than less than compelling story. Like. It's not the story is loose at best. As an exercise though fascinating. I really was interested. I was compelled. I couldn't take my eyes away. So like Anderson alluded to they didn't just color is. They did that of course. But also slowed it down to like the the right like frame rate. So you're not watching people walk by pay brew Fassino, Sean on cameras that the World War One footage at the time. The technology was hand cranked. So it was very hard for cameraman to actually crank either right speed. What we all see I know today. Twenty four frames per second. They were over cranking under cranking there all over the map and Peter Jackson and his team were smart enough to say that's one of the big problems that separates the viewer from this actual footage. And these people the people humans is not only the black and white. But also the speed it makes it seem slapsticky and old, and and it's not acceptable. So once you slow it down, and he went into detail about that in this thirty minute docked that I'm assuming it's going to be available. Once you can. It and whatnot. I'm sure that would be part of the package. I think it's exclusively theaters now, but they also a good thing. They did was added sound sound back. They went into the Foley. Realm as well with the the the doctor that did after that you walked away from lip readers have to readers they had lip readers. And it was fascinating because Peter Jackson giant World War One fishing auto. That's another reason why they picked him. He has like actual World War One. Armory and like a lot of the Foley stuff. Like, we're aware we're gonna find like like that. And he's got you got something similar hundreds of of uniforms in his own personal collection. Big one guy. So he was a Smart Choice. Now, one of the problems that I had with the movie is the movie is told in voice over as well, which was good. I liked that a lot and it actually from dozens is soon they recorded in the fifty to a hundred infantrymen from World War One who Brian said, they were interviewing the fifties and sixties in the same archive. They have all this tape. These reels of these actual interviews. So. Two hundred hours, casual at descriptions of the horrors of war. Well, yeah. I mean becomes second nature. I think right stiff-upper-lip told British thing the voice. Oh, yeah. And that's another thing. I didn't realize that it was going to be primarily told through British soldiers, which I was fine with. So he involved more one what are Americans involved in the fuck would we be back to back World War champs? If it's a really good point. Of course. We're stupid of me. All right. Let's thousand brain farm, right? Then let's not say that word. So one of the problems that I had with the movie while it was unfolding was Ari show me some more stuff. I knows a whole lot of stuff. So happen. We're one I'm getting a little bit tired of these folks. Oh, what I started to say. Sorry, he huge aficionado. Peter jackson. There's this one piece you probably won't remember it. Even though he saw that movie. I wouldn't remember it. If I didn't stick around. But there this one piece where the sergeant is like talking to his men, and he's reading off a piece of paper, and he's actually speaking you can hear him saying. In what he's saying and Peter Jackson's like, oh, I've seen that footage of seeing that that piece like, you know, dozens of times growing up and being a World War One like nerd, but I never heard what he was saying. And yes, they brought in lip readers. But they couldn't even re this guy's lips. But they're going through the annals, and they found a scrap a paper that with that date from that footage, and they read it, and they they looked at it. And they're like does it match up. I think this is what to say. So. Yeah. Thousand for this the little thirty minute. I thought it was going to be a lot of technical bullshit like, and then we use this caller. And there was a little bit of that. Like, he was talking about how the grass was the hardest thing to color, which was interesting. But. No. That was as interesting 'cause I so I should say the footage looked good. But it didn't look so good that I forgot that. I was watching really old footage. You know what? I mean. I mean, it's still looked weird. It was off of little bad. They did the best they could. And it look much better than what or used to seeing. But I I didn't think oh, it was it was as though is good animated movie in a way, I guess, but it did make me see them as real people. Most of them are like rubes. Most of them were like on educated really young fifteen year olds in there. So I was getting tired of the same story the same not the same guy so much, but it was all a British infantryman on the ground, and it was all leading up, and he explains that he did that on purpose who showing some footage of planes, and they had a bunch of like sub submarine footage at see how cool the planes looked. You know what I mean? I wanna make it to make another version. He said he wanted to try and tell the story keep it on the ground and keep it like with one group that had one, you know, mission to which. It all led up he'd tried to tell in a traditional style, which I understand that the the thought process there, I would've liked to have seen more shit though. Yeah. I agree. But I liked it very much. And I found it to be fascinating. And I would like to see like an extended TV version series of this. You know, what I mean like CNN or something be saying? Yeah, they did that with World War Two. They re colored that remember that was stunning but ninety eight percent on rotten tomatoes. I can't imagine anyone giving this review. Dick would do that. It was a feat for sure definitely worth watching them very loud that I thought more that's kind of stuff. I've one more movie. I'm more I got to. So I guess I'll just go World War Two looks like started nineteen fourteen and ended nineteen eighteen or one or we're one is what I meant to say. Thank god. I wasn't the stupidest thing on the show Cold War. Brian call moving. Comfort of my own home. Oh, give it to me the comfort of my own knew that right now. Oh, you don't. I have to see it. Now. I also would like to say this fucks up my plan. I had a really great plan. Brian. I was gonna watch Cold War or private were war and private life on the same week to give it like that bloody simple plan five I need to see all three of those. I would like to see all three of those in the next couple of weeks, but I squeeze Cold War. Instead. Okay. I'm good FC, private war and private life in the following weeks. Mini attractive town because his nominee for best director for best director, cinematographer and foreign language film. It is directed by Powell Powell sqi direct a little film called Ida, which I saw a couple years ago, same tone different vibe, but black and white as well. I don't think he shot that one four three as far as the aspect ratio goes which is the box which gives it that old TV feel mid-nineties was shot for three ago story shot for three. This is love story music director falls in love with a singer and tries to persuade her to flee. Communist Poland to go to France with him. He is much elder. She is played by Joanna Kulik, and he is played by Tomas Kat. And she pops she chews the scenery. She has reminiscent of Lalita Susan Lyons of Lalita. She's just very blonde. She's got attitude from the moment you see on the screen in the beginning. So what it is? It's the Cold War. Brian spans, many years one of the problems that I have with the movie is they look pretty much the exact same through the twenty years. It's a short movie. How nice sh- this music director comes into town. And he's putting together a show, and this this quiet little like polish town, and he's getting like some of the actual people that live in the town to come in. And and essentially American idol but back in the forties. Right. And he's immediately smitten with her like that girl. The woman that he's casting with kind of give him shit. Like, why do you like much? I think I know why you're spending because he's much older than her long story short there together. And you know, it's kind of frowned upon. But and then they're also behind the iron curtain so the trying to get out. But what my takeaway on this movie as she was fantastic. I loved her. She just had it like, you hate it or one minute. You love to the next shoes. It's cold bitch. But gee, I think she was real. We're the best director nomination. It's after one of the five best director edged out Bradley Hooper for for sure, Bradley Cooper born. This is this is a very very typical Oscar Academy Award nominated stuffy black and white arts one foreign yes, this kid keeps this gives them their street cred. They're usually crat right with a movie like this a well-crafted movie. I li- I enjoyed it wasn't made for me. I'm not pining to ever see it again. But she was tastic. But see this. Do we have to see this the filth audience? I I would say no now, I'm sure there's a couple of people out there that loved it. But no, I mean, as far, you know, it's all about what a movie pulls out of me. What what what are you doing folks in me? And like this one just generally get me other than her this. He was okay. And the ending kinda was like really that's the end you're going to have. Yeah. Well-directed in the sense that he was working in black and white and he was up in their grill quite a bit. But I like little show. You sounds like. Just a block about aspect. The. Very what it is like. Like, you kind of like melt into it. And you're like, okay. This is the kind of Mike it's it's not to rid of other things that it is its own thing. And the camera work is really good. But you know, it's it's plain for the art world constantly. Whereas whereas like a star is born like it got into my head deep. Right. A Cold War. Speaking of great camerawork, and well directed I very cinematic film earlier today day still with the still right? Freshman had no crossover then. Well, you've seen this ready. I don't think he likes it maybe much sided because I remember you saying good things. But I quite enjoyed presell though. Yeah. Yeah. For sell out. I'm at the century city. Hi, thanks, awhile to actually you that I maximize burials you some money. Max don't remember the last movie? I saw I am I feel I don't see very many Knicks. Maybe that would have been ten years ago. This was magnificent film making this is this is true. But Chan Chan Jimmy and Elizabeth CHAI ver ver of a shar shar Heli Heli Heli czar how fucking twice now they directed free solo sit at ninety eight percent run tomatoes again who has a problem this movie nominated for best documentary. I haven't seen all the other nominees, but this was a remarkable cinematic achievement. I was enveloppe in grossed. I mean, it's a very simple will-he-won't-he hunt a story because it's about this, dude. What's a free Klein like you said Al capitan peak in Yosemite, and he's a bit Asper either of get into that a little bit. He's very climbing and not much else driven not really suited his girlfriend. I really do home life for not really having anything. Besides and his his shoes climb with. But it is bachelor that he can eat with tried to get out of the pan. Burn tan. So anyway, free solo is really well done really benefits. Rely max I recommend this movie recommencing on a large format screen normally wouldn't care one way or the other. But that's what will you. The music was fantastic is score was here's here's something to think about though because this this has been bugging me ever since I saw the movie, and there's no under no getting around it. But technology gives us what we got to see. Which was. I'm axe footage is insane person climbing capitain without a big part of it. There is friends and it gets into the life and death aspect and how they don't wanna be a part of it. They don't know what they'll do does don't want to be caused caused obviously there. They are so, but because of the signal, gee, we get this, you know, magnificent footage, but because of technology, we all know that he didn't die imagine watching this movie nine knowing if he lives her dies, how would one I mean. I it's impossible to imagine the experience, then I'm how great that movie is if you are like living and dying on each of his little move when he does decide to start to walk yet to your knowledge a little bit this. But even still it is it is there are people out to watch. It probably have no idea if you lived or died mash, the majority probably got to really enjoy that much more. Yeah. All right. I it was very cinematic. I really enjoyed it. And one of the ones of the movies that I will I will demand that if you're going to see this up to see it or not. But if you do see in the theater, preferably on a large format screen. It's you're not gonna get the same filmmaking experience filmgoing experience as you would at home. Brian. I have one final movie, I'm not going to spend time on it. 'cause you have. Not seen it. And this is a movie that needs to be talked about by two people whose most seated also I'm going to suggest the listeners watch even though it's not the greatest time of year to be watching a documentary that was made in two thousand seventeen that's not up for shit with the Oscars right around the corner. However, it sits on the old fuck flicks over there. And I would like to maybe get you to watch this and then within a month or something maybe soon after the Oscars, and we have a maybe a bigger conversation about objected in plain sight, the Netflix spent Pippen this to me have this kind of just dismiss this is like a true crime thing that you're kind thing, and it's fun one. Bob berchtold, very upset berchtold. Bob berchtold, Bob. Bob berchtold, Bob baba birth. We hear Bob's voice over early in the movie explaining how he met he met the young. Jan and how she had dimples and she spoke to him and she looked at right in the eye. And it was at the moment that he realized I had fallen love. I've found the woman the girl my dreams. Probably Bob was around forty and she's around twelve that's a problem. Bob was very persuasive. And it was a different time. If anything illustrates rooms night EPA Tae and a difference in decades eras, it is this movie. Bob moves in Bryant. He moves it on his on his prize, which Jan befriends per tire family, namely her parents, and he gets into a position where they're fine with him spending the night in her bed with her three or four nights people. I one point he says, oh, my my therapist because I had childhood trauma therapist suggest that I sleep in the same bed as a young girl night's sleep in your daughter's been, oh sure, Bob here, your great friend, great friend. Sure. Sure. The things that he does with the two parents is the parents as well, John, I should say are all part of the documentary. They're speaking directly in the camera. They're owning their Rubibi. That's the word their rooms by there. I haven't thought we're rubes in years until I watch how in the fuck Maryanne is the name of the mom and Bob is the name of the dad. Now, I didn't realize Bob and Bob anyways. There's a scene with Bob where he's recounting something that he and Bob berchtold did on the side of the road. And you just like what? Now. How how do you how this I never want? Folks, this going folks, and they're just naive. There's a turnip truck I'll ever seen with them. You could see the turnip truck driving all over their shoulder away the sound right off L trusting that's that's an understatement. Brian. This movie is is key. But it's nothing like it like just just evil Melvin chose Melvin. Yeah. I mean, it's it's unbelievable in the sense that there is full grown adults that could be this fucking knife. Especially in light of today. How everyone's so skeptical and leery of their neighbors and whatnot. And this is a different time. It happened like in the seventies. Maybe late sixties, but I highly recommend. Abducted in plain sight brought it up on the after disaster last night. And Tyler said, oh, yeah. I came home and Lauren. My wife had just watched this, right? As I got home at ended. And she just looked at me. 'cause I what I just watched. What? I don't know what. No, no. It's because everyone's everyone's scathed by the end like mentally, very scathed. But physically not there skate. Okay. And they're they're part of the documentary. It's okay. And there's even by the end, there's even a little bit of like, oh, look it. You you. You saw for yourself there. Okay. It's fucking believable rooms. Where did rednecks though, rooms different ru different? That's my objected in plain sight. Next up next. Will go to the second. Like he was Jesus Christ or something though with gun the amount of respect that Bob gets in this little town Jesus bed. I'm sure that he could have wanted to Jesus, Jamie. Bob just got away with whatever you wanna do. Hey, borrow your daughter for the weekend. Take her out of town. Yeah. You twelve year old. Bob's brother. And he's like, oh, yeah. I'm very excited. I'm so sick of rebuilding old horrible movies about men and just watching the switch not horrible movie. I would never see. The program. Hey, I'm Batman. I feel like the answer this intercept if you've been in a bar fight. No, number what? I've been on the number of fights both and bars out of ours. Bright. Yes. Some that start in bars ended up outside. Yeah. Yes, I can name the bars. Too CISCO's you Catan lose the to come to mind. Have you ever had somebody? Let's take this outside. No, I usually make it happen inside. Let's bring it back inside where the ladies are. They like to watch Cher. I'm sure that there's others that I'm not recalling right now. But those are the two big ones. And it was me versus one was me versus a giant guy. And it was a huge misunderstanding. I was in the bathroom at the Yucatan. And I heard these these Chiloe were in there. They're going. All right. We're going to get the God of the cast. Right. So on my move like when I when I jump in like, you guys also start stopping him, and that's fucked up to go after the cast as I'm walking out of the bathroom allowed bar. See this really tall guy with a cast. And I'm like, that's the guy Duma solid. I'm like, hey, man. Some dudes in the bathroom, the planet on jumping you. What might there's some guys in the bathroom in their planning on beating you up you won't go fucking push me. No, I I was explaining to you. That's actually has it goes on and on and on we fought in the bar without outside the bars. A giant ring of people out in the parking lot confused fellows are like was this guy. Fucking bit me. I have a bite Mark on my arm for the longest time. You could actually see the scar. Cops show you were kissing your gang. These cuffed us. Separate ways can cops were cool. I'd probably because we're white and the white town. So you know, we skated and I'm walking home. 'cause I was there my friends at left and that was their solo. So I was walking to my Buddy's house and a car pulls up your that guy. That was just in the fight. Hey, we'll give you a ride. Thanks hop. The car turns out it was friends. They take me to his house. He comes storming out of the house. Punches me, again, my hands in my pockets punches me again. And then his friends like what I was dick move. So now they're against him. And he goes back inside the how did they bring his house because they wanted to send me. No. They wanted to watch me get finish the fight. They didn't like the sucker punch. It was round three. Yeah. And I said I don't want to fight anymore. I see what's going on. You took me back to the fucking enemies house is in my hands or my pocket. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna the guy comes running out. He's out of his mind. He punched me the face. And they said that wasn't cool. So they take them back inside. He I remember he took a chair at Heathrow. And I heard it go through the fucking window. And then I just I walked away. I'm got hope there's not around four and there wasn't. And then you're listening cast, man. Cisco's was. I got I can't remember all that was another huge misunderstanding. Oh, it's one of them one of the March under the cocktail waitress zero friends with shoes, and it was towards the night of the two in the morning, and she was really upset and she says these fuckers just ordered a bunch of booze full round. And now they're saying they don't have money. They can't they can't pay. And that's a cure there and stuff, but obviously security was there zero this is now my time to shine. So I'm gonna I'll take care of it. So I go over to the table and I'll make guys join your beers. And there I guess who the fuck you. I'm like, I'm the guy that's going to do this and I took one of their beers. And I started drinking it, and I also wanted a free beer, and I look over my shoulder like doing for you. Honey, do you see what I'm doing? And she say, no, no, no. It's those guys over there. And I'm like, oh, and I look back, and I'm like, well, this is a huge entertaining put the down and next thing. I know I'm just on top of me my wallet gone, and my watch is gone and then actual security guard. I'm ever he broke it up. He he lifted me up, and he handed me, my my wallet. And my watch. He's like, you're right. Andy. Thanks buddy, waving atop those are the two that I remember right off the top. I'm sure there's others. I've not one of our fight shocking. Almost got into a fight with that girl at that bar that you and I. Gresley against your trunk leaning car, and you're going to me miss. No, no, no. No, no. I did not say excuse me, miss you. And I are sending barters you're smoking. And I was doing Simpson's trivia and. The bar you like it was signed smoke in the bar drunk girl. There's the wobbling down the street and wobbles and collapses onto my truck, which is parked right outside the bar and just kind of collapses on it. And I just mutter only audible to you know, what I'm saying. It's like. Terms like someone's vehicle. Lien on your new Silverado. Earl's all before we get to it like thing, Jeff listener. I know Jim sorry, Jim for sending sending me a very nice shirt that says mediocre sweet. And it's got Morton Joe's likeness on the shirt. So that one's in the wash can wait to where that one in here, especially thank you very much. Jimmy, also sent us a number of smog city beers, which we will be consuming on this episode. As well. As Brian got a novel sent to him by Jason runny, man. Got it very. Ryan just as Jason from S L C J Runyon from Salt Lake City. Jason sent me a letter, which I'm going to -cation anytime soon or doing maybe bring that and read it coast to coast flight coming up. Okay. I'll try and get through the. It is a very long typewritten letter. And I thought it was to me at first. And then I saw at the top. It said, dear Brian my call the the the envelope on my gut says Phil ball care, Bryan. Oh, yes. Jason. We that. I the the jets. Jess, I feel like it was like a homework assignment gun cancels who's beer. Drinking a homework. Assignment got cancelled. For the pretend potatoes one classic Barbara. All this is you might think of more conic bar fight scene goodfellas, which by the movie a lot so similar themed movie. Also, starring Robert de Niro streets. No with Bronx tale a Bronx tale, great bar fight. Remember the bar fight in Rockdale where it's sunny, sunny, Lous, Spek, ios crew versus things messengers. Save messengers. Are the movie Bronx town Satan's messengers? They are the the biker gang pulls into town. And they they're Blau their noxious, and they're the mere sound. It's a great. It's a great shock as the mere sound of their motorcycles offends Chazz Palminteri, the spec you and the special just the just the cacao sitting down the restaurant here in the special is this just the cacophony of the motorcycles. He's already put out and they go to the bar that's owned by some some some friends friends of the crew, and they're obnoxious and sunny goes. In there. And he's like, hey, what's going on you're going? This guy's refusing to us service. We have some beers and our money out. Green is I want a couple of beers. Couple of society runs the town. Right. He's the he's the mafia's the mafioso a couple of beers. We'll be on shop here in shot. I try and no sooner does sunny leave the establishment. I haven't laughed. He was outside the establishment. They they all and unison shake their beers. And douse the bartender beer known for that. And sons having sunny polls, what is great trope, which will come up again in this list on mine. He he closes it goes back the option closes the door locks it now you're locked in here at me. And he says that wasn't nice. And then now using going now us not leaving. And now he's out of the back. And there's a great shot where the kids narrating like the look of terror that comes over the the bikers here hear the narration leader member of cable does not being my little well, then we'll get to later. I would've gone this deep if you had been a little I watched and he kept digging. I also like to say, thanks to Klay Greer listener, click gear Greer sorry. Clear Greer who sent me an Email a couple of weeks ago suggesting we do the topic. And I quick I was quick to reply. Thanks Klay already. Did it I already done bar fights. And then I passed by you guys, and I looked at my research and low weight on top five site fights. I should also say top-five fight scenes for Brian. It was borat. Number five. You have my matrix reloaded, number four great scene. Three was Christmas story ralphie versus us has got forcus Scott for the book of Eli crooked realize everywhere right now, it's popping up. All right movie. Number one, saving private Ryan Stanley, mental versus the main German soldier my list went down like this. The killing nineteen fifty-six Stanley Kubrick's the killing after choice. Marie Versi entire bar at the track. This could have been on my list today. But it's omitted because it was already in fight scenes. But this is my only bar fight scene. From our previous fight scene list. That was the kid. Killing. That's right. You've not seen the killing fields something wrong. Something very wrong with respective before was raising Arizona. Hi versus Gael snorts in the trailer was good. John goodman. Good. Good fights able dead to adverse possessed hand. He find it on hand as true. He did number two eastern promises. Nikolai thousand two thugs and Turkish baths naked. Jay's an old boy old boy versa. Thugs side scrolling down hall, wet slow etes number five for me in this here. Iterating the Barbara all's treasure of the Sierra Madre nine hundred forty eight. Get my history pig off in out of the way this. So it's it's it's Humphrey Bogart, right? Bogey African Queen nerve Sira Bogart. I was pretty good fights one of his chums there in a bar, and they're drinking and boss man comes in. And they've been doing hard labor for this guy. And they're like, where's our money? It's pay day. Boss man's go a little skit. I don't have it this week, boys. Sorry things have gotten in the way and tell you what I'll pay this time next week, and they're both like, we know the we know that this tune we are not buying this fucking money. And he's like, maybe you didn't hear me. Why don't you just? Taking the week. Don't you try to stiff us in the boss man, says, oh, I'm not I'm not nothing. Nothing. Like that fell around. How about around he gets its drinks and trying to get us liquid up. Nothing like that at all. And all and I'm boss, man. I believe Bosman throws the first punch. He takes the bottle and hits the guy I days ago, and then the fight ensues, and it's a really good old tiny bar fight with the sound effects. The it's like a ping-pong match one point bogey and his buddy or just kind of like playing catch with this this guy punching him, and then he goes this way. And then the other guy punches, and then he goes back to bogey and punches him. It was like volley. Brian was really gonna volley then he falls to the ground. He's literally groveling boss man's now. Groveling crawling away from the scene like you see it's very trophy. But he's like literally trying to crawl away credit point. He does lay down just lay down you just play dead. Like a possum right to Ryan fucking crawl away. 'cause you get more. So of course, they push him down. More time. They take out his wallet. Oh, not scant. He's flush Brian. The man is loaded loaded. He's got cash Lor was bogey bogey picks it up. He takes out the full wanna cash. He counts out the money that's owed. Throws the rest of the money. Beaten bless metro Robby Robin, trying to take what's what's owed just trying to take. What's mine? This came up on zero of my list for research. But dammit, if I didn't I should've I should've that was lifted notes because ever read right here on my notes of this here. Madria pretty good bar fight scene for the ehre. It's good. It's going to start with. Goodman next. Nineteen ninety six oh, this is a brawl, and it's kind of one-sided actually, it's kinda one-sided. But the other side gets gets there's into. Lex at the teddy twister productive on an hour long, bro. It's very long. It's very lengthy Robert Rodriguez directed from dusk 'til dawn this vampires versus the bar patrons. Well, formerly the topless dancers and the the employee of the bar versus the bar patrons. They turned into vampires. Of course, was the carnage begins. Did you watch an eclipse of this the the the band, also presumably vampires? They almost immediately began playing insurance coupled together if you've been body parts playing torso a leg stuck in the middle. Yeah. They were quick on their very quick training. Instrument, but this a wildfire where people turning into vampires and a few of the humans normally normally, namely, George Clooney, and Fred Williamson and Thompson easy. They get theirs. But they're outnumbered all their number. I do like that movie quite a bit. I love the first half the first half is such high tension, and it's like a different completely different movie. Apples, and it's fun. It's it's almost like an early peek into what he ended up doing with the death proof later on right with two separate movies. Sense. What was what was? Planet terror planet terror and death proof, but it was grind house when it came out rigidly right back to back to films and one. What he was doing there. Yeah. I guess so he directed the first half and Rodriguez director the second half. That's almost like a defacto anthology film four rooms, or, you know, seen alita this new Rodriguez film. I so I don't know if gambling on or not by James hurt that one person told me it's good James Cameron. So that's more than I expected. Hey, look at this. I discovered this some research that move for cinema. Dick's here's a fun little trivia piece, Christoph waltz Krista voltage leading research on these films. I research on every single movie that comes out every month, Brian for cinema lines what I do. But I don't go on fucking tomatoes. Right. A lot of insider brand research insider is the name of the they don't talk about critic reviews or ratings at all it's just a bare bones much more than I've done. So because you don't like movies. Here's a little tease attribute Chris volts in this movie lead. What what is the Lido? What's the most notable thing about alita? She's a robot giant is a giant giant anime is oh, it's big is Volks. That's right weird. What German actor was in two movies with character. Or with featured featured women young women younger number four for me. Oh, I'm excited. This one finally gets on the list, if nothing more to get all of you to stop emailing me that I should watch this movie because since it came out in twenty four teen I've been getting, you know, probably once or twice a month in Email. We'll come in from a listener saying, hey, have you seen this movie called the guest transformers five guest one of the worst movies? You'll ever come across because it doesn't I I thought for this list. And I'm like, what's the name of that fucking movie? The guest is not a good name for a movie Brian is about a bar fight, the guess not about a bar fight. There is a bar fight in it. And it's fantastic. The guests is directed by a guy named Adam wing guard. I don't win guard. He's credited with some of those ABC's of death. And we'll see other one that does so many directors. But it's came out in two thousand fourteen he made Blair witch, the actual movie twenty sixteen Blair Blair witch. And then he's working on right now. They're shooting gut Zillow verse Kong, it's twenty twenty. So this director is going to be a name the probably gonna hear of coming up. He's also doing a remake of ice all the devil. Really? Just got an American version English. Speaking version of I saw the devil. Holy shit. Anyhow, the guest is a very. I guess simple story. I'm a stranger arrives, and he knocks on this family's door. He drifted gear next and VHS next as well VHS. He's he's one of the credited directors because so many directors involved VHS. Yeah. You're next is something I saw in theaters. So the guest I did not see in theaters. I forget why or how I saw the guest number of years ago now, but was getting horrible horrible title. But this war vet comes in he comes knocking on those family's door. And he says, hey, I was was really close with with your son who over there and I saw action with them. And he wanted me to come by. And check in it makes you a good because he's he's in the sun is no longer with them. Then he takes out there. They're younger, son. And all of a sudden some shit starts hitting the fan and the small little town. And they think there might be a connection with the guest with this new guy who seems like he's like an anti hero. He kind of comes out of the blue like going war. You don't get any back story on them. And you don't know what his deal is ninety one. Run to and this bar scene is fantastic. In the lead up is so great how it all transpires? But there is no good soundbite to bring the program. So I'll just set it up for you. So there with this young kid, he's not gonna kind of trashy bar. It's a bar that you would think is very trashy. But it's one of the Bill Maher, you're very very high falutin boozy with your bar bar, whiskey. It's a beer bar, Brian. And he's in there with this family psych, son. The family sons probably seventeen eighteen years old, and there's a kind of a rowdy group over in a booth across the way in the bar all high school kids, and they're they're kinda loud. Three dudes three girls. Maybe four four girls and the bartender comes over and he walks up to the guest and this young kid, and he says, hey, you got ID and the guests says you'd ID those people over there. They're obviously underage and bartender pretty much. All right fair enough. All right. I'm going to have a fireball which is like Tabasco and whiskey or something right before fireball was actual thing, and my friend here. We'll have a coke because he's underage is K notice these girls over here that drinking cheap beer that. That's that's unfortunate. I should say to the guest is played by an act of that. I'm not really familiar with named Dan Stevens. I play the dance theism on his is a regular on abbey. Also was beast in the beauty and the beast remake so price. Throbs legion. Apparently, his not anything. I watch. Never say legion legion. If it's not patriot. I don't care from layer with. And so he says I I noticed these these cobbler let it go. I notice ladies over here. Drinking cheap beer that's a shame. I do me a favor will you? I'd like to buy them all around the shots of blow jobs, if you do that for over blow jobs, and he's smacks down one hundred dollar Bill on the table. And and the the bartenders seriously. He wanted to do that, you know, it's gonna cost trouble. He's like don't you want to buy the the guy something to? I guess so once you send them over round cosmopolitans. Another hundred down. All right, anything the change. So now, the bartender kind of has to do his bidding. Right. Even though he knows it's not gonna end. Well, obviously, it's a great setup doesn't go goes down. Exactly the way the guests wanted to go down to do comes over two of them come over. And they're doing tricks blue blowjobs and buying those calls bulletin, the sloppy splash the cosmopolitan cosmopolitan cosmopolitan and in the. Cosmo and the guest face, and then a very very quick and decisive strike occurs. And we see just how bad ass thing is and this movie it keeps you guessing. And it's an enjoyable little genre flick as you might say the guest horribly horribly titled the gas at yes, I will forget what this is called later next week the guest before that was probably my favorite scene terrible poster to. Yeah. The whole thing is just very. Misconceived, but it's a good movie ill conceived till conceal ill. Not miss. For like over seas market. I think you'd like it, right? It's the kind of movie like Bradley Cooper could've been in it, and it could have been a huge hit. And and they would've changed the name to you know. That's my number four. What's your number three for me? So there's actually a more traditional bar fight scene in this very movie, but I'm gonna what they slightly slightly creative scene from legend twenty fifteen fucker is any A-List number three, Ron vers. Reggie no is the actual the actual disease. Then. The nightclub. They are when they fight each other that that's that's a bar in London that's London bar stage. But that's clubs work as well as being a nightclub. So they're in my scene Reggie has gone away to prison, and it's just gotten out only to find that is rather Iran loose. Kennedy is skins Ron has run their nightclub ground. He is chased all the clientele away comes anymore. So true to actual tweet that ran amok in the in London, the sixties, and they were they were as they are in this film Hollywood is a little bit. But this is a remake of a ritual film where I think the guys from Spandau ballet play play the brothers terrorize London. Played both of the plays both in one scene when Reggie one of the top hardy brother, the one of the Cardi brothers gets out of prison to come back to see his precious club as fall into disrepair under his idiot, brother. Ron's. Auspicies? He comes back into happy and they needed a fistfight. It's quite ugly. It's quite a fun little feat of filmmaking watching the same actor kick ass up and down. But it is a trag out brawl brothers. They they have it out right in the middle of the night club. And the rub is that one brother. They're identical twins. But one brother is very calm, and collected and smart and savvy he's the brain. And then the other ones Braun, and he's like, I think he's actually certify -able schizophrenic seems his head case and constantly flying off the handle. Yes. That's part of probably what drove him crazy that time and place, right? And with the machine that he was trying to create, but there was one more traditional seen in British pub that have brass knuckles, hammers and Guinness. It's true. You kind of stepping all over my pick tease. Here's probably the problem with with his movie wide and love it. Because I mean, it's got it's got to Hardee's what more double possibly need. I see the appropriate director attached on man, Brian hell, Helgoland directed it. He he's primarily known for a Knight's tale and forty two. He kind of makes that made for TV Sheen's this movie deserved a little more grit, a little more Scorsese treatment having great moments. But maybe. Treatment. Maybe even a little Matthew von treatment, even though that is more plastic than I tend to love. But I don't know if this was the right director. He's also a very good writer. He's got his fingerprints on a lot of big move. That confidential is Brian does. But this scene that I'm going with. It's got brass knuckles, hammers ear-biting into fucking Harding's makes for a great bar fight scene. And I got a clip. This is the lead up this the and they lock them in is another clipper they locked don't. It looks like it looks like it's a real thing looks like Ronnie, his the crazy crazy crazy one looks like he's leaving because he's got insulted by these ruffians. But really what he's doing is going out to get some hardware, which we couple hammers. And then come back, and he locks the door. So it's two brothers to Hardee's against and six or eight dudes. It's it's again to grew large group of people. And here's the the leader. This is Reggie this is the cool calm collected one going up, and essentially, you know, lay all the cards on the table here here, it is Tom hardy and glory. Charlie Richardson, wits and the Greenwich have you rich? Oh, yeah. He did. Listen. When you see Knicks you tell him from me the site. Fuck Shali Bravo. Thought that fat tools. He cool now to hang out with him Faulk you'll face. Yeah. Fuck you're gonna thank what are you that? I love that. I love the accent. I left Tom hardy. That's good. Snarky and then and then the fighting Susan day. It's good. It's brutal. Brutal fight. I little cartoony. I mean, there's there's many blows. He'll watching that. If you were to actually go count, I would hazard a guest, and it's like probably twenty plus blows that would be fatal that just kind of adverse alone have the effect. Yeah. What I'm saying? I'd say probably twenty twenty-five jets. And instead the effect is. Coal. So that's my number three. All right. Very good. This matched up kind of comfortable next. We will come back with the top two on two teams. Bauxite teams of all time. Super Bowls over it is but doesn't mean to bet online over those rooting for boring. The only winner then hilarious. I saw what the direction is going this. This is so funny to me. Benham line that Agius still your destination for all of your gambling knee, including NHL NHL. We've got the the trade deadline is coming up everywhere twenty fifth if you had to make a features the NHL what what team would he feel comfortable? I mean, everyone would jump on Tampa Bay light here right now because they are the cream of the crop. And there, but I wanna I wanna sleep on the Winnipeg Jets, of course, my penguins are always a threat, you never know. And the capital's could repeat I mean, these are these are all strong strong teams did the didn't beg us win last year or am. I totally lost to the Catholic. How the biggest would repeat the capitals would repeat because they they beat Vegas last Vegas. Not that good. Very good team Vegas where I don't wanna spend too much time here talking to Joe, but Vegas was a Frankenstein team Bryant their expansion team. From parttime all these other teams, and then the the massacre happened and that team really came together on galvanize the city, and there are a lot of times that happens in you'll see in the NHL quite a bit. Like somebody's team members mom will die. And then they'll win the form that happens quite a bit. Wow. So check it out online Asia go there used a promo code podcast one you sign up market. Scott vers is Roxie direct by Edgar right? The scene direct bad go, right? This is Scott programmers. The world of corporate Scott must fight Ramona flowers evil exes and this fourth opponent, technically, this is this is not a bar Zik concert after party, but they are at the bar when this whole thing takes down there at the bar after party, technically, there's a very funny revealed you remember this very well. I I liked this movie a lot I got a lot of shit for like this movie. People say, it's a hipster movie did not age. Well, people do not like this. This is a federal the bowling dynamite or to the movies at dick shit. Shift to this movie. It's a great movie. I remember when I saw in the theater like I I need to see this at homes or echinacea to slow it down because there's so much going on. Of of of of of site images. So the idea is that Scott Bill must must fight literally fight videogame style, this new girlfriends ex league of evil exes and to keep deferring to the MS ex-boyfriends. And she keeps suddenly correcting him. I'd say Xs, and we never he never picks up on it until fight number four when his fight his opponent is Roxie Richter. Apparently Ramona went through a lesbian stage at one point in college calls phase, which raises Roxie even more. And there's a funny LA internal animation of Scott's brain going from the meter goes from clueless to gets it a very fun tongue-in-cheek movie won't point here in Calkins there at the after parties screams, kicker balls defend movie. Called golden where do you go on that HBO show such secession UC's being ruined by show? Again, we're losing fish show some show, but fish or something planet his brother one of his brothers drawn a blank on the name right now, Rory Rory Kalkin is in the lords of chaos movie that comes out later this month, which was on my Sundance preview from a year ago twenty eighteen Sundance or it's all about the Norwegian death. Metal black metal black men. Not dental black metal store if you'd asked me in twenty ten or twenty eleven when this came out, but percents our audience that seen this. I would say upwards of eighty eighty five, but it's not not age wellness sense. That I don't think a lot of people are like saying, you gotta see Scott pilgrim, like, I wonder how many of our younger viewers, and they've seen this movie. There's a really good movie you guys enjoyable. Younger people watch. How young do you think our audience gets ten that young? But I imagine we track new listeners as years go on possibly from previous generation. See if you haven't seen a guy's fun movie. I recommend highly Scott world number two for me already been discussed here a Bronx tale. Sorry steps. Also, listen kept going and suggested that we do this one, clay, clay Greer. This was his defacto number-one pick not the facto, but they seem that his Email like you got to do a bar fight scenes. My number one would be a little movie called a Bronx tale. Yes. This fight scene is fantastic. It's got such satisfaction involved in it because these are such Dick's, and it's kind of like the new common that they had to come in. And it's kind of like the old time gangsters versus the young up and coming like, you know, the new style of which was kind of new then biker gang was kind of new this time was the fifties. Like fifty early sixties right sixties and do up era. So it opens up Brian kind of talked about earlier where you know, sunny and Leigh lower just trying to have. Lunch specials from like, the manager of this restaurant that everybody, you know, it's a small town. They all know each other in the neighborhood and easing. We got a beautiful perset go, and then these bikes come roaring by and you can see Chas this past deniro director this great direction because I can then we go outside the establishment. We can see both both of them kind of trying to look through the door at allowed cycles as they roar by and they spend back around they going to the bar Brian set that whole thing up. And then what's great is like kind of like with legend. I can't believe we have two of the same picks bastard. Maybe number one's the same too. Because there's so many bar fights. So jazz starts to walk out. And they think yeah, right. Yeah. It gets fuck out of here after they're talking shit. And he just goes long walked to the door to close it lock. And it's just him at that point. And it's just him le-le-let's. Leila. Leila's a little kid, and he goes now use ain't even now using. You can't leave and then the back door opens and all the good fellows. We're back. They're playing cards or God knows what Shane there may be cutting some garlic with razor blades doing back there. And. Deniro? This is the first film that he had directed. He did the good shepherd later on. But some of the editing was kind of upset. There's also one shot that need to be there with the fat guy. Squishing the one guy gets the bars. Like, we don't like he was trying to to outdo Scorsese by having more having very very Scorsese ask as you imagine. And then it spills out into the front and the best of the best part that you didn't discuss though, they didn't bring up was as as Chaz is walking away. Now completely unscathed completely ruined. These guys you hear him saying they roll my whole fucking lunch room over shit. Bronx tale nineteen Ninety-three generation. I've got a clip the clip here's what it sounds like right after he locks them in. Now, he's currently now you can't leave. I will never forget the look on the face of them deficient. Trump. Cordial shrink was right from their bodies. Dad, reputation for breaking boys. But they knew that instant they made a fatal mistake this time they walk into the bar. Yeah. That's funny. Bring it up fatal is not the right. The appropriate. Word grave mistake for sure. I think tragic mistake would work there too. Made a mistake someone died. I mean juries so were a lot of blows that not the best fight. If we're doing specifically bikers that get the Schick them in bars, scenes smoking the ban. It's got a great one snowman very specifically there with his dog and these dickhead bikers took a lot of abuse back in the seventies and eighties film these bikers. I think they were kind of like the hipsters of their era. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? Filmmakers are like these fucking bikers easily easily cliche. So they're saying, hey, Mr. your dog bit me, and he's like snowman's like I I don't think he'd snowman drives a big rig. I don't think they did. And along cut to like, they're beating the shit out of the cyclone trucker who just end the bar by himself. So he's all fucked up, and he his dog kind like make their way out of the bar, and he pays for his gas. He was just they're getting gas and a beer and Hopson is a big rig, and he just pulls out of the Varkey lot and just mows down goes down every single fucking bike lanes. And they actually have the footage of the big rig going. Actual bikes is fantastic. And then swings out on the road on into the sunset pretty good shit. Number one is the only the only thing disappointing about this list for me is that so many of the great scenes are visual even from Don. Like, there's a lot of fun visuals going on number one for me is very canal. Very visual fantastically directed by Matthew von as a little bit too earlier, Cayman Kingsman Kingston's is fantastic about galahad versus XI's tormentors at the beginning of Kingsman. So it's a crazy for a lot of reasons. Number one. It's got that great Trump of locking your opponents in the bar re locks them in like manners. Make man and also establishes galahad played by Colin Firth is kind of as a bad ass because up until that point he's kind of this foppish Brit. You he's easy dressed nicely. He's drinking beer, very, very daintily. And and you don't think much Manetti unleashes a whole bunch of what pass on these guys. It really throws down the gauntlet on this movie. Like this the first like show stopping seeing there's a couple of other skirmishes, but this is the first really shits expect that yeah, it's gonna work. If you recall both of us, I think we're underwhelmed with the way that they presented this to us. I it looked very me it to watch the we do not think that it was going to be the kick ass. Already fun movie that it turned out to be still have not seen these couples. I still seeing the sequel. But yeah. The first thirty minutes. I couldn't really good Gillian. And she liked it a lot. But she didn't see the first one so Gillian, you gotta love her like I was out on tour with with the film somewhere in some town and come home, and she she had watched three movies. And I and I can't get her to watch one fucking. She won't home. That was one of them was the the new Kingsman. And what are you watching movies when I'm gone, I felt like watching movies? We'll watch them what she want to remind you of minor view number one for me. This is one of these hands down favorite bar fight scenes every now, and again, we do a list, and I have one that's just kinda like for me personally as out a mile ahead of the number two. This is a movie that I watched numerous times as a child because I think I recorded it on my old Betamax and early eighties. When it was shown on z channel or whatever. And it just became a staple of my childhood. I probably got, you know, fifteen twenty movies at my brother, and I would watch over and over and over again, I'm talking to my nineteen seventy eight Hooper Hooper seventy Burrell's Burt Reynolds stars as. As a soon to be washed up on his way out stuff. And it's a comedy action adventure. My first little Andy watching this movie. I imagine this is how most bars were also the giant Steelers fans a little kid 'cause my dad I'm brainwash me and Terry Bradshaw will still playing for the Steelers when I would watch this movie over and over again, nineteen seventy eight when the movie was released probably watching the eighties. Terry Bradshaw is in the scene. He plays the redneck. Ruffy in he's in from out of town. But so the scene goes down like that. So it's like a shit kicker bar, right? And Burt Reynolds and his buddies numerous people that you'd recognize. James best who is Roscoe peco Coltrane original Pasco PICO for the original. Hazard. He's one of the guys their table with a bunch of. Older experienced stomach, and they they like to get into shit. And they're having a good time there dinner there. There'd be really loud, Terry Bradshaw. I'd never seen the guy act before I was a little kid. Right. And I knew me play for the Steelers, but he's actually in this fucking movie, and he comes over and do a better than actor. He's talking. He's talking to his friend. And he's saying, hey, I threw fifty cents in the jukebox. I can't hear the song at fifty cents by the way back in nineteen seventy eight that's expensive song long. That's an expensive song. So he's like tables get into loud. He didn't appreciate how loud and rowdy these stomach. We're so he goes over and he confronts him, and he says, hey, I put some music, but fifty cents in there, and I can't hear it. And but Reynolds gives them some some lip, and you know, you give them. A little bit of a hard time. When he goes out you want your fifty cents because I said it was Francis. Throw me that to helmet there because the hell need them stomach. He throws on a helmet. And he makes some noise as a bowl Stamps's feet. And then he takes running start at the. Jukebox headfirst with the helmet on slams into it. You know has made Glenn glass in the front smashes a bunch of quarters come spilling out, right? And he picks up the to fifty cents, and he goes over and strangely. Enough gives it not to Terry Bradshaw. But to his bald friend the ball friend, I meant to look him up. And he's somebody you've seen a thousand times big tough guy with the bald head. Oh, he might know. He's not well, he might he might be. He might be. What's this faggots? She might be that. I don't think it is. So next thing, you know. It's on right? So so just really fun banter. The square off. And it turns out the Terry Bradshaw on his buddies or swat from out of town our for a conference or something and the first question, what do you intend for Terry batch a conference Terry Bradshaw? I and then Burt says what a conference for assholes and all friends laugh, right? And then Brad Reynolds counts. He goes. All right. You guys got ten. We got six looks like you'd have to call for backup or something along those lines. It's so good paddock back and forth back and forth. And then he he cold cocks Bradshaw Bradshaw. Sticks his tongue out a two hundred on his tongue. And and I keep calling a Berenice bradtha Bradshaw. Five. Her Cooper turns to his friend. He goes, we might be in trouble. So then he headbutts with the helmet on and Bradshaw who looks huge in the scene just gives a big smile. And then he palm the stuff I can helmet-to-helmet cracks numerous places, and then the Malay begin. Saints tables breaking Sally fields trying to eat this giant rib eye steak or a Puerto rouse and guy gets smashed right onto our table. And she has to pick up our plates and. Good good hole old seventies bar rock and sock. I'm like fight what you'd expect to see in that era. And it's it's what I thought bars were like when I was a little kid until actually went into one. Oh, I love that Hooper bar fights. Whether they all become friends, Brian they all get thrown out through glass windows, and they're doing stunts essentially since very medic, and then the old guy throws himself out. Like, I've been throwing myself through windows before you were born and Terry Bradshaw Burt Reynolds, and then a bunch of the other ones, they're all laying the trash in a bl bleeding, all laughing along. That's a good good friends. What what are the chances absurd? And I know the answer to this mess. What you think what are the chances that? My Khurana has looked for and found is very bar. Slim one hundred percent, I don't even know if you've seen the movie really loves Reynolds. He does we've never talked Hooper, though, talk super I I don't know if this prion back lot bar. I guess I doubt it's on. Real bar. No Hooper can under doesn't even come up on just watch messed up. It is. I'm sure you can find it on YouTube most stuff you can't find on just watch. You can find it on YouTube, and it's tired, but Hooper if you're not seeing Hooper, it's a fun one. It's it's it's an elevated smoking the bandit. John, Michael, Michael Vincent is in. This victim the young. Jan Michael Vincent to they. Call him ski in this because they can't pronounce his name. He's got a polish names go we'll call you ski. He's the young up and coming Stockman that they're all kind of threatened by. So they give them a really hard time. But this is where he decides to fight on their side in the bar scene. And so it's a little bit of brotherhood. Oh, I love that Hooper love Hooper four or five streaming. I'm done. I got Chitaun also rans, but I'm not like the listener list listener less, please. Full-on? Can you wasn't? Part of find. Send away, but I lost it. That out at number five we have a Bronx tale. Yeah. There you go. Number four, the flashback scene an airplane glove girl scouts and the entire fighting with them to listen. I'm glad it made that. Yeah. And the dancing old guy. The move number three is kinsmen golden circle. That's a new one. That's right. I won't never to roadhouse. Several throughout is one big bar. I was looking for just a one where he'd finally pulls out the throat, and I couldn't find that clip throbbing ripping and the number one our fight as voted on by our listeners is from the movie, dirty work. I've never seen dirty work. I seen Chris Farley. And it's great scene. But I've never seen the movie I've seen it. So many times it came out like at the perfect time when I was in middle school underwhelming. To see it. I really wanted to see it. I love the the cast. But I just never got to it. Hold on hold up dirt. Copies. Really don't. Yeah. Chris. Farley was great HBO day. Really being funny. Let's really funny. But. Thirty Mary at work. All right. So we're doing this. That's right. Yard yourself grain. You look like see what I did there. Oh, good. Speaking of which I dump fuck that. I am thought that I bought a Betamax day on EBay for twenty bucks. Because I'm trying to transfer all my home movies from when I was a kid with my dad like screaming and yelling having fits I need to get this shit off of analog. Yeah. So I need a Betamax machine. I bought the manual for twenty bucks for a Sony Betamax. I can't find a fucking Betamax under a thousand dollars on on on EBay or anywhere for that matter that works if any of you have an old Betamax that works that's tested that you want to sell to me or let me rent for a couple of months, I got a transfer shit. I can't find a Betamax for the life of me. I'm not gonna pawnshops gotta be out there somewhere. New one. I'm still in the box, sixteen hundred bucks editing, your post house in Chicago. And they're in Chicago. They don't have Betamax they're all they're all digital. But no. But that's their whole. They don't transfer old home movies and all the scare guarantee. They don't have a Betamax. I I would be shocked about listener has Betamax. And my what kills me, and my mom had two of them and her her son in law took it upon himself to either sell them or throw them away a couple years ago. You wanna do any else? Yeah. I gotta shit Michio airplane already been discussing collateral. More of a shootout, though, kings boondock saints good when they like the guys asked on fire Terminator one and two two two especially Sean of dead very Goodwin. Turner was Barbara some guy start shooting. Everyone wants to leave raiders lost ark, that's shoot shoot at. But that's where the farmed the Nazi Paula medallion. And he got a burn much like you. So that makes me think you're not say, let's write other replacements that Logan maybe watch a few weeks once placement. The replacement says good bar bar fights with a rabbit farro member. Kiana goes up to him. And goes never say you can't hit anyone with the red jersey in practice that doesn't apply here. He just goes right after the raiders. Mean streets. That's right. We don't pay mooks smoking ban, which already mentioned back to school has a goofy one for a few dollars more forty eight hours. I'm not much of a fight even though a couple of guys get punched, Don, of course. And then irreversible. However, I think the rectum was less of a bar more of a club because I never saw actual bar probably serve their actual bar at least poppers private clubs zones clubs, but that that completes. My also my shortlist Trainspotting, of course, great bar fights. So close to including big adventure. But they don't actually fight when the tequila scene. Great scene was bar. Dancing ideas. Like that. There's no fighting designated for years he avoids a fight by doing it in. So that's all the tropes of the fight. Kosher V lie expert first class top secret. The Orange and Black Insider Bengals podcast: Taylor-made
Everyone has going to Anthony Kazan's. And this is the orange and black insider Bengals podcast. We are. So happy to have you with us once again. And I guess officially we are onto I guess twenty nineteen. I mean, even though we've it's now February twenty nineteen. You know, Super Bowls behind it is now the twenty nineteen NFL season in we have lots of talk about including the hiring of Zack Taylor. And with me as always. John Sharon who gave me a great assist on this into young dot com website because I was having some issues with that. But John, how are you? New era of Bengals football has been uttered in. Yeah. You always carry the bag on here in in hiding the fact so my way at some. It's been an interesting twenty four hours, I'm wearing my banana hat because the Bengals seem to slip on banana in this past efternoon in the hours after Zack Taylor press conference. We'll get into what kinda mean by that. But it's it's mixed emotions. I guess because it's something brand new to us. It's something completely new to me. Because again, this is the first time I've been Bengals fan. Marvelous hasn't been the coach and it. Oh, that's that's just the big deal in in itself. And Taylor has a lot to prove now that these officials here in some of the early judge are getting made on, you know, the initial this isn't he is he will make a coach in balls billion tear the coaching staff in talk about a little bit about that. But it's it's it's a mixed feelings for me personally right now. And I guess that's good in bed. You know in kind of both ways a different era of Bengals football for sure. And. I mean, I guess we could just jump kinda right into it. Your thoughts on on Taylor when he was introduced as the Bengals head coach on Monday. Your thoughts on. How he presented himself? Obviously a stark contrast and a lot of different ways to Marvin Lewis, especially Marvin Lewis in loses later years. Your thoughts on how he presented himself? How he handled the media aside from I think you and I both got a funny tweet from a fellow listener that showed. Hit the airing the TV airing of it cutting. Of Taylor's press conference, but aside from that your thoughts on him how he presented himself, and you know candidate that young fresh approach may be that he brings to the Bengals. Yes. So when we were talking know last month about potential replacements for Lewis Taylor's name was obviously one of the name seals like he was the first guy that the interviewed. But most of the session was was surrounding the enemy, maybe even more so Todd machen, and you know in the the week leading up to Taylor getting hired. You know, he wasn't I guess a serious consideration. I guess because people mainly like preferred. But when talking about Taylor we discussed like the Bengals would not be interested in Taylor. Just because he is in the socio of Zach of John fakes use me things will be interested in Taylor because they think that he brings a similar mentality. Similar fresh mindset in values in cultural changes that McVeigh type co. Which would bring because McVay special because you know, there's no one really like him in the way that his mind is built around the game in his memory everything about this actual. So if Taylor was to be hired by the Bengals in the few severe, so heavily coveted by he would he would have had to have wild them in a similar way that McVeigh, obviously. While the Rams I think we kinda saw some of that on display in the introductory press conference in obviously that press conference in the south as breath of fresh air, not just because of anything specific he said, but just in the way of how it was so different than all this other marvelous prostate inferences, but I do believe that, you know, Marvin's first press conferences in general were kinda like that where he can brought this reinvigorated energy to snow stale time, but now this story station stale from from all years of him so tailored kinda brings that recent change. And that's exactly kind of a we were hoping to see him. You know, just hearing him speak for that half. Hour was definitely worth that weight and confirms will be kind thought about him and just just in general. He seems. Like like, the kinda guy beat had hoped a thirty five year old head coach, I had coached woods with sound. Like, you know, he sounds like he can carry himself. Very well. Even though he's never exactly been in this physician before. But obviously, he's he's well well wired grove in family, obviously had those similar ideals to the Brown family, obviously toban as well. It appears to both of them have Hannah connected in you know, obviously fans adore do token for the work that he's done under the under their strictures of the Brown organization. So if they can kind of get on the same page in the stabbing, you know, a process of billion illegitimate championship level team than this is obviously a great direction to go in. And most of the majority of things Taylor said from the most are was just coachspeak in operation be taken with a grain of salt, and what not some the little things. He's talked about communication and an attacking mentality. Kind of those different. Things would allude to the temporal alterations in how the Bengals will approach the off season may be. Season management ethic. That's definitely refreshing to hear in Duffy something that was well worth us waiting to hear. So with the Taylor higher came a lot of social media reactions from Bengals players high profile Bengals reactions. Do you buy that? They are the excitement that they are showing, you know, they kind of superimposed pictures of themselves next to Taylor. You know, what I mean like they like that? Basically, they took the Bengals. That kind of what they did on their official announcement superimposed pictures of themselves said like, hey, welcome coach all that stuff. Exhaust from Dunlap the south from Kirton from Draper, Patrick. I mean, he saw social media. Clips of Taylor greeting. Andy Dalton in the locker room, and that they seem to be very chummy. Do you buy do you buy that? Or is that simple towing the company line? You know, what I mean, where where these people these guys that are paid well by the organization, and they said, you know, I gotta do the right thing if you will and support the new coach some of these guys there's questions if Drake or Patrick's could be on the roster next year there are questions if you don't get to be on on the roster next year. I mean, do you do you buy that you buy the excitement or is that simple? Just kind of a I'm being a good employee doing what I'm supposed to do. I think dre earned the stuff elects on contract for do journey. Ilya. That definitely talk about that. But I think it's a little bit of both. Because like as we all know players Marvin Hughes the players coach through and through. And obviously they like like like, I think headed tweet, you know, he kind of held back. Some reservations, I guess for for you know, like, you know, what we'll see what philosophy brings in exactly display. Great amount of exciting. When you text. I think it was though you'll though BT reporter has anonymous guy, but for for for the other guys, I think, you know, even like the majority this team the core of this team has been around for a six or seven years, and even even then six years is kind of a longtime for head coach in the NFL sixteen years is such a anomaly in an outlying itself success years. It's kinda more even so on the long sides arguments was around for a long time for even the guys having hit thirty yet. So for those guys who are welcoming Taylor with open arms. I think it's a refreshing change even for them. Even if they weren't here for the majority of of Louis center for the most. Part of the guys who were with Louis in the two thousand zero gone except for maybe a couple of guys that maybe won't be on the team next year with expiring contracts. But I do think that there is definite, you know, relief some changes happening the guy that maybe most can relate a little bit more, obviously because not just the age difference. But a different type of coaching background philosophy. Because Taylor is obvious enough in some guy with enough it's background and probably a lot more in lot less conservative as a coach coming immediately than Lewis has turned himself to be six years on the job. So I think with those changes has farts this. This welcoming atmosphere from the players with Taylor because I think for the most part, you know, I don't think this whole rebuilds gonna take one year. I think a lot of familiar faces but will stick around for twenty nine to see kind of what they have. And you know this team in where they are in their vision. Probably will take two or three years to truly be competitive because everyone eighteen games in the pessaries. They're not contenders right now you can. Big argument that the divorce team they're on division, so swift at Santa think like like for now everyone's kind of on the same base the same playing field in level of job security, and the kind of you know, are welcoming this new change in what to do their best to get you know, to impress him to to slave. They have value for the next one or two years three or four years. Even even for those guys who have have yet to hit their thirties while not. So I think that there is a little bit of you know, got welcome the new guy even alike coach. But definitely a refreshing. A welcome change for most of those guys who are should be excited about a coach they can probably perform better under. We'll be utilized under the age. It green mentioned that he had his best years under Jay Gruden in that play option style offense. He mentioned that recently. And obviously that's something Zack Taylor is going to you would think bring to the bagels. Look, I mean. There. There are a number of people that are loyal to Marvin Lewis. Whether it's because he brought him in brought them in to the Bengals organization, drafted them, whatever. But I think there are a number of players that are, you know, more than ready for a change and more more than I mean Zack Taylor for the most part is he's barely older for better for worse barely older than many players on this roster. I I mean, I think he's older than all of them. But there I mean, you know, you got your Andy Dalton's, Gino Adkins, you're you're Carlos Dunlap said are, you know, early thirties or whatever. And they're they're right around his age gap. He's John Sharon, I'm Anthony. This is going to black insider Bengals podcast, and we are talking about the Zac Taylor higher as the Bengals new head coach, you can get this program on IT, Stitcher. Google play on megaphone and on cincy, jungled comments wells, are our YouTube channel check that out. John one of the questions, I guess in. The the Taylor higher is, you know, who made the decision who, you know, who was kind of that the people who pulled the strings if you will in order to get him hired, Mike Brown and his introductory press. Conference of Taylor. Kind of measure, basically, the Duke Tobin is the guy who. Brought who headed up the coaching search. He brought up a lot of candidates. He headed up the interviews all that kind of stuff in. He was the guy that brought in Zack Taylor if you will. Yeah. He hasn't been named GM in official title. But I mean for all intents and purposes that's his job. There's a lot riding on this higher. Right. I mean, this is the first new coaching higher in the Duke Tova era. This is the first new coaching hire in, you know, basically in sixteen seventeen years since Marv Lewis is come in. And it's young it's risky. He's overhauling the staff all that stuff. I mean is it fair to say the Duke Tobin, basically, his job is writing on this higher and he's been here for so long. Because obviously they wanted to keep the lose through kind of tech and he came along with Louis, but that's that's an interesting point. Because you know, you talked about just job securing general the Bengals with those guys in the front office. You never really questioned that. But if this was entirely a or majority part a token move in do toes reason, why Taylor was so well liked within the Bengals brass impressed so much. If those comments were were basically alluding to in. Ultimate meaning that do Tobin was impressed by this than. Yeah. I do think that as right now that they're connected. That's the reason why he was behind those microphones for the introduction press conference alongside with Taylor in Mike Brown in general, but this is still like Brown, and it's kind of ridiculous. Like, Paul the Jews on Twitter light. You know, do Tobin is GM in in everything. But name why does he have the name though? Right. But might my ground is still who he is. And he's just never gonna change in. If there's any if there's any time where he's gonna bubbly giveaway power in a move such as edges naming took Jimmy says nothing to do it. No matter what he's gonna go to go to the grave with those values set in stone. But essentially do token is does have more pal kinda known this for the past years had more influence in the war room in influence in bringing guys in retaining guys in in the offseason in general. But now this this this was his first opportunity to kinda really reset the franchise bring in new voice leadership. In if they were trusting token to kind of find that that kind of also concludes the other point that, you know, the the black rains are also kind of overtaking Brown from power standpoint. And obviously both trying Katie Ed obvious influence on this hires. Well, but they also I think have a certain brain trust in cohesion with Tobin in their civil values in philosophy. So it's kinda that four person brain trust of the front office with Mike still overseeing things still not wanted to publicly give power in not giveaway any levers of the as eighty something years old. But at the same time, this is kinda do tokens era of this. Wherever Zack Taylor goes do token goes we all know, how big of a leash town does have did simul to your contract. But this is Louis now. So this is all new game in this is a whole new ballpark of boss of possibilities for they're not halo succeeds or fails, you know, what's kind of the repercussions of mid may be something bans in so something. Good in. That's gonna be something trusting wash. Does it frustrate you that? I mean, like I said for all intents and purposes do CTO Vanessa GM. Mike Brown continues to hold these annual press conferences and to to both Mike Brown's credit and detriment. He's not Jerry Jones type of owner where he hogs the microphone. He's he odds. The you know, the the limelight. But in that way, he he also doesn't he is not able to clarify a lot of things he has hinted over the past couple of years that hey, you know, basically, it was Marvin his daughter son-in-law and Duke Tobin that have kind of run the show in terms of decision making he kind of said as much again with his act Taylor hiring that it was Duke Tobin's, call they supposedly interviewed nine people. According to Mike Brown. I mean, does this frustrates you? He's like dude do tokens. Yeah. He's he's not saying that right? I mean, we can sit here and say for all intensive purposes, but still. He's not saying it. He's not giving him the title. Does that fresh to me? I'm sitting here going, dude. Just just tell us, right? Just say the GM like an some people quite like senior citizens the babies in terms of stubbornness or legs just point. And I think that's basically what we're doing because e selling grade in his ways, he's he's not gonna change in this just isn in whenever you want progress from someone who just will not change in a certain point is life is just pulling teeth from innovatively when push comes show and butts are in seeds in he's going to make necessary changes, obviously appeased mass in this case. I think we're gonna have to wait a little bit longer for token is officially given that title, but it doesn't it doesn't really matter. But it's still kinda matters. I guess that's the the point that you're making were you know, if he's GM, but it just won't happen with with guidelines. It's he's he set in his ways in a, you know, who knows maybe it is he's eighty three maybe it is an appeasement type of maneuver by some of these other people in the front office said look, he's still here. He's still kind of the owner. Where calling the shots. It doesn't matter. What the titles are what? Or whatever. This is our regardless it does sound like this is a Duke Tobin higher and not a Mike Brown higher. So. You kinda have to sit here and say, well, you know, they're obviously every every one of us who have been fans for a long time. Look back to David Shula and say, oh, you know, young guy and. That's where this higher is heading. But. This doesn't seem to be the guy that Mike Brown. Pull the trigger on this seems to be the guy that Tobin signed off on in the other powers the be signed off on regardless of title. Yeah. And going back to pulling teeth like, yeah. Like Mike allowed do tokens to hire a head coach is allowed to spend money in March. Yeah. Like that s the next that's the next step of if token is truly in charge earn lessees dislike like the king. The hand of the king is still kinda pulling the strings Joffrey entitled Thailand Lancaster out. We don't know that yet. And we will know that in game of thrones reference. Everybody in case, you didn't know. Okay. Doesn't want thrones. But but but anyways. Yeah. Like who's who's truly pulling the strings because those of us who cannot afford HBO or something, I guess are the people I don't pay three. Pretty sure not a lot of people do either. But anyways that that people say teams don't soup teams don't win or lose more for this is not the case. Maybe this the Bengals still people, but you win in this league now by spending money now they spend money on presumably a hotshot young head coach. Let's go out and get get some quality free agents in more than just one on one year. You know, rental deal like they have the fabulous actually do something that matters in March when you're building a championship team, which is presumably what Zach to that wants to do. We'll see that happens. Dionne DT s in the live YouTube shots as if this in all caps, by the way, if you if you say something in all caps, you know, you know, that person's meaning business if this turns back to the shouli years, I'm moving. So there you go. Fill your house. Well, that's not lie decision. That's Dion Dionne decision. But. You know, there was something that I thought Bengals fans. Should. If you want to say, you know, gravitate towards the Bengals or endear themselves to Mike Brown, or whatever. But he basically said, and I don't know if this is a slippery slope or not, but he basically said. They felt the effects of fan. Ticket sales probably letters they received whoever are whatever. That this decision to move to act Taylor was basically based off of that. They they heard they felt the reverberations of fan reactions especially late last year and the possibility of Marvin Lewis retiring, and they said we have to make a move. What do you make of that? John. Well, I think it'll kind of lead into another topic that we're talking about. But at the end of the day, Mike, those care about making money, however, much, you know, of that revenue comes from the twenty thousand tickets that weren't selling towards the end of the year. I don't know. But obviously, I think at this point in his life in his time as the owner he seeing a decision that he made a long time ago in this. He didn't make it over the past seven eight years when it was when it was ripe to move on from Marvin Lewis by Maya unwillingness to do something that I probably shouldn't on the past kind of finally catching up to me. If I want to, you know, do the thing that I'm telling people that want to build a Super Bowl team. I can't have you know, I can have this leadership into new year or otherwise, I'm not gonna sell any tickets because I think it Marvin Lewis in back when they will not have sold more than thirty thousand season game like the here. Honors like, it would just be half filled. Most hersher in if blackout rules didn't exist. Now, it just wouldn't be televised on TV in that wouldn't be good for anything at any even for someone who has been this way stubborn is my ground. That definitely I think's Sunday message in everybody has a breaking point people may have may not often Mike Brown, Ben. But at even three years old, he showed he Camden and into the to to the Dave Shula point. I think that if Zakia does diffuse he's not gonna be your for six years. I if you've missed you can swing again in that goes for quarterbacks as well when you're trying to trying to establish the two most important things for football team. That's head coach in quarterback. And if they don't work you don't have to be stuck there for too long where where it'd would be too late for the rest of your team. You can you can go ahead and try again, that's that's that's something a lot of fancy to understand where if you do higher Schule you won't be off. Medically put into twelve years of misery gin. And if you it exactly does mediocre, you won't autumn actually have six years of him. Again. Those are those are mistakes that remain the past thing even for a team like the Bengals day have a certain level of evolution and learning from their past mistakes. Even if it's a slow as they are those stakes are learned from even for organizations that aren't as competent as others. You have to give Mike Brown a little bit of credit because he was asked a question about Marvin Lewis during the introductory press. Conference of Zack Taylor. He, you know, I mean, not that most people would do this. But he had an opportunity to kind of take shot Marvin Lewis or say, this is wise activities. The guy in Marvin Lewis is not he he basically took the higher road and said this is I'm not going to take this opportunity to slight Marvin Lewis. I'm not I'm not going to do it. Mark, you know, in in that shows mar Mike Brown's. Loyalty and its loyalty to a fault. Right. I mean, we we've said that too. He has a hard time getting rid of certain players. He endeared himself to player certain coaches, whoever and for better for worse. He's like, this is my guy and. You know, I think that was probably a little bit of the scenario Tamar with Marv Lewis in finally it was like it's time. Whether it was the pocket book affect or what have you? He kind of said, I just can't do this any more. It can't have. And I think that's the same thing with like a players when they were, you know, other excited about Taylor or they're more like none of this players with with speak ill of Morgan most than realized that the chains needed app in for for the betterment of their crews for the organization like the no one should really have any ill outs Morgan Lewis. When you look it from an overall standpoint, obviously could have ended better, and you could add more opportunities for legit champs to Brunson there. But at the end of the day, he was still a decent coach in just a decent human being in someone that was ahead value in the organization in Agassi was a close friend to anyone associated with sixteen years. So it was definitely good move. Bye by Mike to stand behind him and not take the opportunity to to buy his. Worse aspera, Jim. But also, I don't think there was a reality Micron would ever do that. Because if you show loyalty to someone that long thinks it's change in instant were your whole perception of pain on someone just just completely alters because you know, drastic changes happen. So it was good. Bye, Mike, but I didn't really expect him to do anything different. Yeah. In this is I mean. It is what it is. And. This is something now where they've they've hitched their wagon to Taylor. And that's that's where they're heading immune. It's you mentioned you mentioned something about, you know, we'll see if this changes free-agency or the approaches there, it's going to be very interesting to see what what kind of sway if any and if that's that is his sway that he wanted that the hill he wants to die on so to speak in terms of Taylor. You know, free agency all that stuff. It's gonna be interesting to see if he's the guy that kinda has more sway in that sort of thing. And you know for those who are saying yes about Taylor. Young offensive minded gets the majority of angles fans, and you should be feeling that way, you have to also recognize that, you know, even if he does make certain changes, it's based off of the foundation the Marvin Lewis built. He had his flaws. He had his this. And that, but Marvin Lewis saddest and'red, Mike Brown budged in ways that he had not budged in for long time. And you have to hope that that Taylor than says. Okay. Marvin Lewis laid this groundwork. I'm now now we have to move here here here here here these positions we have to look at you know, maybe it's different quarterback. Because Dalton Louis were attached to the hip, whatever. But you have to sit here and say, okay, you know, Taylor may be can build off of what Louis did. Yeah. And if you allow me to make a radical analogy here. Oh, as an econ major I happen to learn about the six ages communism and how China release through themselves in the twentieth century when I believe is in the mid the mid twenty century when they try to skip capitalism on the way to communism and in the suffering in ended up going twenty years behind the rest of the world in terms of of economic development and what happened in nineteen eighties. Is that hey on the way on the way going to communist because capitalism, and that's just no way. No in win against the home, by the way. Right. This is not great. So what what happened was that? China's like, hey, we're gonna backtrack a little bit because we skipped important step on the way to go into where we need to go ended up. You know, creating economic surge boom in the nineteen eighties in now, China is worthy are because because of that for for the Bengals in this case, they ended up in the dirt in the nineties. Oregon. Those brought him to stage two in this case. Nets mediocrity. This the opportunity for them to go to stage. Stage three which is legit contending Taylor. Ends up being that guide in the process over twenty something years finally worked and they can have their hands on that in. If it doesn't work again swing again, go find the next guy. This is the orange black insider Bengals podcast. He's john. Sharon. And in case, you didn't know he is much smarter than I am because he is in econ major. I was a lowly history policymaker myself. So he is on. Maybe sort of kind of at any rate. He is a much smarter man than I am a many levels. John, Sharon, I'm Anthony Kazan's e can get this show on itunes Stitcher on Google play and megaphone YouTube since each Ogle dot com. Get the show. Hi can. I mentioned last week just kind of a little sidebar. I just want to. I'm still stoked on it. We are seeing record number a record number of downloads in everything on this program. And I am super excited about it. And again, it's it's probably due to the addition of my far superior intellect co host, John Sharon in his great following that he has on social media. But 'Save tongue-in-cheek literally, John you've been an awesome addition to this show. I can't thank you enough. I can't take our our listeners enough based on some of the. You know, some of the numbers don't lie. Right. I mean, I it just hasn't been killing it in. It's it's crazy. And I also wanna take this part part of the reason why some of the the numbers have been great have been because we have also had Tyler Boyd on the show twice in the last month. We just had him on again last week. And yeah, I mean there there's a propensity of sometimes interviewing the same guy in a month, especially in the off season, you know, kenniston. No. Would you you know, he's an interview we should interview him every month, which is regular thing. Yeah. You know, I tried to make it a little different. I did a little lightning round with him. And all that kind of stuff. If you have not heard Tyler speak. If you have not heard the interviews, whether it's with us or other outlets that he has reached out to he's very very nice young, man. He is a very humble young guy in I tell you just in the in the little interaction of had with him. He is a guy that is very very excited about this activity hiring. He seems to really like being Cincinnati Bengal. Even though he's a Pittsburgh native will keep that under wraps. But he seems he seems to be a guy that really likes being Cincinnati Bengals he likes what has happened. He he relishes his breakout year last year. So we've been fortunate talked to him recently a couple of times, hopefully, you have seen that interview or those interviews and enjoy them as well. But our thanks just aside from all of the listener. Who've been downloading the program are also Tyler Boyd, John. Unfortunately, were not there when we were able to interview him, but I'm sure you've heard them in. He is he's a stand up guy. He truly is. So Anthony, yes, things of hearts coaches. I was gonna go there. And I let's go there. Okay. So. I know you've got a lot to say about this. So I wanna I wanna put the ball on your court there. But yeah, tell me about some coaches that you have seen and. Near thoughts. I guess on some of these guys. Let's go ahead and read. Zack Taylor said in his press conference about finding coaches, and I quote, what we're looking for a great teachers concise communicators outside the box thinkers and people who are not afraid to deviate from the norm. We're in the process of organizing, a great coaching staff that you guys would be very proud of the players are going to be excited to play for. So I think it's pretty obvious. This point that Taylor wants to surround himself with associates former associates of him in his tenure, very young coaching career. One of those well-known associates is Jim Turner who he for the past three years has been the offense of line coach for Texas. Am for that. He was also with Texas stadium in two thousand eight to two thousand eleven the first four years of activities, which is a grad assistant and when Taylor moved to Miami Dolphins twenty twelve Turner follow him as the off. Of line coach just so happens that when turn it was there. So was two guys named bridging company. Do Jonathan Martin think we all know what happened with with those two and the. Yeah. Is a bullying scandal. That incognito started in pulverized verbally more for how long and Turner into the game fired for because he was complicit in the process and also partook in said bullying of Johnson Morton who just as past year was shown on Instagram with a threatening caption in a picture of guns towards his former teammates because for some reason. Bullying does have a mental impact on those victims and can deteriorate their minds, and they're gone. So psyches so Turner ended up suing the investigative report that got him fired because he couldn't work for some reason after his reputation was stained because he was a known complicit bullying as a coach. But then he got a job back in Texas. They now in twenty sixteen and then in his first couple months yet a coaching clinic for women's their end in coaching clinic. He made some very inappropriate and sexist remarks and comments about offense Lampley, if you can somehow somehow even comprehend how that would be involved there. Both regardless Turner end of working there for the next last years now is the replacement Frank Pollack that quote that too said applies to nothing that Jim Turner is. And I know that he entail has worked for many years. And I'm sure Taylor knows very well. But how the hell does Zack Taylor? So a Jim Turner higher after saying what he said the press conference. I waver on this because I'm sure there's another coach that you're gonna talk about that has issues. I, you know. I waver on it in the fact that. Off unless you're Paul Alexander. Who was also in assistant head coach slash offense of line coach the overall responsibilities in the overall level of. I don't know what you want to call it the overall level of accountability or name of title, or whatever. Offensive line. Coach to meet isn't scream. There. You know, doesn't scream high profile coach doesn't stream that this is the guy is going to be the face of the franchise doesn't scream any that stuff. We've also seen the Bengals have some redemption stories in terms of tank Johnson in terms of Adam Jones in terms of some other guys that have come in here with all kinds of terrible pasts and have come in here and. Made made themselves viable themselves relatively good contributors to the team and an have helped team turn into winners. I do not condone anything that is in Turner's past. I also have not been in any of the rooms or anything. In terms of people associated with him. And or what his reasoning behind some of this behavior is so I can't fully speak to it. If I'm going to try and at least somewhat back him, which is hard. But I also, you know, some of the stuff I have seen under his watch and everything I can't condone. I can't you know. I I go why why why you know, the quote unquote, good oh boy mentality or the football guy mentality. It doesn't it just doesn't work today. It just doesn't that would that? He may fall back on. I don't know. I think on one hand this is a little bit overblown in terms of fan. You know, he fan behavioral little bit or fan reaction. But at the same time, it's also I get it. You know? I mean, this is supposed to be a new era. This is supposed to be a new regime in all of that. And Taylor literally says like you like you just said, John he literally says, you know, we're looking for this type of personality straight laced people XYZ Anna day lesson today after its. It's not the people are targeting for critical positions are not of that ilk. And that's a little disappointing. So it's kinda like, you know. Are these things that are going to go the way of taint Johnson Adam Jones, or is it going to be what bit him in the butt for so long in the mid two thousand late two thousands in terms of character issues. Same old bangel 's quote, unquote, in in everything else, and are these the type of people that are going to define this act Taylor regime in a negative way. And I hope not. Yeah. And like to play devil's advocate to play devil's advocate. I guess with tank Johnson jumps fluids. Like if listen what made him such a unique coach was that. He presented himself as a father figure. I some players who ended the game trouble thirty five in. I think. Yeah. I think Turner's like in his late forties or maybe maybe fifties. Now, like, obviously killer is not gonna look over Turner as in the in the same manner, and you know. Appoint that we talked about with Taylor potentially billion. His staff was bringing in veterans that he could therefore lean on to handle some leadership responsibilities in different groups in general aspects of running the team, and you know, we talked a lot about that with potential defensive coordinator hiring. And when we talk about Bill Callahan. That was another thing that we that we discussed because Kellyanne has with Taylor as head coaching college in kinda lean on him in terms of game playing in the run game. Overall, designing the structure of the offense. And now we have to candidates soon. That's gonna be what Turner's responsible for as well, not only just, you know. Refining techniques office lung, but implementing to- scheme and having a significant responsibility there at the end of the day, the Bengals record will not be dependent upon turns koshen billion, by the way. He's not even that is resume doesn't really bode well for him as his line coach at the professional or college level, regardless, you know, mine main reservations for this is just he's just not like I can safely say that. He's just not the kind of guy that you want to bring in at all for for any type of coaching, you know, for any type of of team structure with whoever's the head coaching the over is leadership of that team. In this case, it's a young first time head coach in your brand. The guy with ample experienced as often line coach who has experienced working with him. But also, he's not gonna be Taylor's this committee figure yet where he can assert leverage in power over his assistance at the very early stages of his career. He's gonna be relying upon them to end a lot of some of the. Game and in scheme commission, responsibilities in turn is gonna have a heavy handed that and we have, you know, a guy with his history in way in his conduct in how he treats in handles player interaction than just overall player development is the major pause for concern for me, and he's going to have to work extremely hard to make sure that anything that he's the will not be indicative of what can happen future. Yeah. I mean for me, it's kinda like do you reside in the camp of I question? I now questions that Taylor's decision making capability by bringing in people like this. Right. I mean, it's it's Turner's a questionable character. He I don't know. Personally, you probably don't own personally. He might be a swell guy at home. I don't know. Right. But there are things that point to him not being a great human being and. That it's a balancing act is that Zach Taylor now has to do. It's I'm a first time head coach I'm going to bring in people that I think are capable head coaches as well as people I trust, and these are people that. He has connections to Aubrey pleasant is another guy is why that yes, he's connected to. So he is familiar with them. There's the nepotism I guess aspect of it. If you will. But you have to save your go Kate while DEA sit here and say, okay, he knows Jim Turner. Well, and he knows him. Well, enough to be a guy that says, you know, what that's what he's what he's been raked over the coals for rightfully so is not really who he is. And he's a good football. Coach a good person. I'm gonna hire him regardless of fan backlash or. Is it PR damned? And you know, I'm gonna get the best coach. I mean, it's kinda like what what what are you? What side of the scale, do you balance more the relationship aspect, or you know, PR stuff, and Jim Turner brings a lot of PR nightmare, especially kind of the current landscape of things he brings a lot of a brings a lot of baggage to a team that really doesn't need it. If if for the UT veers, sorry, I can live like one of those guys woods protection 'cause think fuses blew my house my lifespan out, but to your point. I. Shocked. The answer your question. I I understand the logic Turner's hiring because you know, Taylor wants to have the guys that he trust the most and present. Yep. Like Saint to say that you know, he's worked with Turner for a decent out. I'm actually almost terminals follow Taylor universi- natty twenty sixteen by he backed out of the job to return to Texas A&_M. So I get the logic you because if you're gonna be relying on these guys so much you wanna have guys that you trust that you've worked with before? And that you think you can manage a certain way because you have that experience with them. It doesn't have to appreciate or accept the logic. I understand it. Because like just mean just mean general I don't want people like this part of the socio with a team that I associate myself with because it is because he's just because he is who he is. And in there's a certain point where like, you know, there is a Redan. Possibility. But we're talking about a guy who is a sickly. He is disappointed. It's not just nicely incidence. Multiple instance that presented to be a trend, and we wanna talk about potential dentists should the Friday talk about that before he sued the report that got him fired and basically proclaimed his innocence than display any type of remorse or any type of understanding of of the Rabti of action. So at this point, I think we can just accept he is he isn't just have to hope for the best that none of those problems also to the Senegal's in any major way where it would be a detriment in. 'cause you similar instance in the future. Yeah. In like a fan standpoint like Bengals ownership and everything. Okay. Over there money worried about other leg. I mean, like mangoes ownership fan fans are going to have to sit here and say, you know, what the team trusted enough to hire Zack Taylor. He obviously presented some form of a plan. Whether it's system coaches Ross or both. You came up with some sort of plan that said, this is what I have for you guys and everybody signed off on it. Maybe Jim Turner was a name that was thrown around AB. He wasn't. But. You kind of have to think like. If a guy like Jim Turner in history. It's going to be brought into the Bengals you have to you have to think Zack Taylor said this is a guy I'm thinking of bringing in it had to be known. I don't think this is prized anybody in Bengals management now with you like it as a fan, or what whatever I mean. That's that's a different story. But you have to figure the bagels knew about it. And this is part of a plan. This is probably plan that he gave to the Bengals management when he was interviewing for the job. And they probably have some sort of. Plan for potential fallout with something like this. I don't know. But it is disappointing. It's not somebody who's being who's being given a massive amount of responsibility in terms of title. It's kind of a lateral move. If that makes anybody feel better about anything at all. No. But. I mean, he still being being given probably a big opportunity as we go forward. And then. John. I think you were the one on its juggle dot com. Who wrote the piece on a nose Jason Margaret, it wanna interview Aubrey pleasant? I don't know if you have any additional thoughts on that aside from Jim Turner in in all of that. But basically it shows that. Jak Taylor's leaning on his Rams connections. Right. I mean. Yeah. Like, the bagels are buying into becoming the Rams essentially because. Is that Taylor is because because he said 'cause they said like are you are you going to bring any like like Shami as often Soviet news? Like it works. Right. So like us going to the base of of what we do amount. Gonna be exactly like, Sean McVay. But if you're bringing in offense that is a version of it or an evolution of than. I guess this is the this is the equivalent of branded version of the weight Phillips type defense feels he worked under Phillips as secondary coach. And in this bio, actually, look up just before the show is like it was similar to how McVay said that Taylor's is a a significant part of our third Deng game planning and unlike it was a plus by said, he's a significant part of of weight Phillips's over okay plane. So it's kind of like that at similarity there in that in that congruency between the two coaches, so yeah, I think this would be a decent higher because he has easily is also a young defensive and he's obviously worked under a great defensive line in Wade Phillips. So if you're one implementing genie. Muscle implement the team that manage the Super Bowl in probably should've a patriots. If they had a better quarterback. Well, yeah, we've got we we've got a lot more to get to on this show. I wanna talk about that in just a second. Before we get to the Super Bowl and all that kind of stuff. We do have a a caller on the line. It is our one of our regulars Terrell, Terrell. This is Anthony Kazan's with the black insider Bengals podcast. How are you, sir? Good. Good, man. What's on your mind tonight? This one just, you know, very excited about new of change folly. He was talking about just the wages sharp focus making people kind of about who it is. Superstars or create is what they say coupla internal days. This already on the on screen. I believe that. I believe that. They say down the y. Blacking say not not Jesse based. But. Sean williams. Shower. I shall we was the best lab that on things issue. We already know thirty no hardly negative for you. And and many right? You know, as we give him we coming along the law. But if you put a fifteen more pounds on on on him, and I'm trying to tell you. Remarried me, you don't try to eat with that. He's claiming remarried Joe but a little twenty pound back. Another thing. I know we always saying we try to get his or Jason somewhere. So I wonder that get trade. But I was there about a player, I feel it. We don't really use real how we should be made a change, but Giovanni but NAR on. On him. And they're like that. But we might you Trump's someti- conversations for a second the heard form that could do offals. Awesome will throw we're going to answer your questions off the air. Appreciate the appreciate the calls always my friend and thanks for tuning in. And we pre she'd we we appreciate your loyalty to the program. I friend our him out that. How go podcasts anything's going on? Just just I'm trying to sell my friends about your area. It will chance. I get jammed parts. Not really. I appreciate it. And you know, we do this. We do this for people like yourself. So we appreciate that. And we appreciate your your loyalty to the program. And and viewership all that good stuff. Preciado it, man. We'll talk to you next week. First of all, that's awesome. That you mean, he's spread the word about the. There's a couple of things Terrell said that I thought was that resonated actually spoke to my brother last night a fellow Bengals fan. We talked Budgie Vanni Bernardin. We we said, you know. We didn't we didn't go the route Terrell did with him in terms of trade bait we went the other way and saying Zack Taylor's probably a guy that can get the most geo Bernard. I think you know, I think back to the eagles. And I'm thinking back to Andy Reid as something. You know, the eagles have been a pillar of a team that has used running backs in. A number of affective ways and have done. So. That have helped the team. And I think that that's probably what Taylor is going to do with with the Bengals NGO Bernard. I think I think Joe mixing establish himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL last year, and I think you can use geo Bernard maybe a kick returner. Maybe it's a special teams guy, and obviously third-down slash utility back. And I think that the Bengals need to go back to that. Yeah. You mentioned the eagles. Imagine using Bernard is Brian Westbrook. Brian whisper or even? There's foles. That's the other one. Yes. Yeah. Like, there's like the last four or five years of you were not as been, you know, simple inside Ryan's than just a swing past the outside blown up in point two seconds because dumb telegraph throw completely ridiculously and you have guys like Alvin Kamara running Texas option routes out of the backfield in making linebackers. Look silly in just wonder view, Brian Bernard's, not that much different of nasty than you know, some of the other great pass catching backs in the NFL on. They paid like a a inexpensive, you know, rotational back in should probably use this Tyrrell's the other point shot Williams watching the patriots in the charges in the postseason just lay down the season. There those are two defenses that don't abide by the traditional roles of NFL defenses. And the us a lot of guys who you could classify as third level defenders as you know, box defenders run defenders in general that can straight over the top just use that explosives in speed closer to the line of scrimmage, the better in making those impact John Williams, that's his strength. And that's why I think he was kept over a gal George I look to play alongside Jesse base to play more in inside the box. I don't think the bulk up to twenty twenty. It'd be a good line linebacker because a good linebacking NFL's. Now what it was ten years to go in and you can use guys all over the field in all over the box. Now have to worry about them getting clogged by seconds lockers, you can use how the patriots use some other safeties in how they can just disguise some of their priests. That looks rather really take advantage. Be more effective defense. That's something that hope we see. Yeah. You know, it's it's interesting because, you know, Sean, if you talk about Sean Williams, specifically, Sean Williams was the guy that that is not coming into the NFL draft was the guy hasn't covered at the college level. You know, he was Nevada in the box safety and all that kind of stuff in you're like, okay. Well, you know, what are the Bengals going to do with with this kind of guy? And he to be honest with you the guy at like five interceptions last year. So I mean, the guys turned his career around in his supposed- week spots. The guy has turned his career around in a in a really big way. But I agree with kind of what you're saying John in terms of today's NFL landscape. What teams need what you know. I mean, you look at the Rams in Michael Roby? Right. A kind of a tweeter guy. They had marked baron. Another guy who's been a tween guy a Twitter die. You know, maybe maybe that's where the league is heading. Maybe that's where the Bengals are heading terms of, you know, they need to have these guys that have the size of a bigger safety, but can tackle in and are able to play in space like some older, linebackers and. You know, that might be that might be whether heading we'll see but great call from Terrell. We've got another call on the line from another regular John from Kentucky. John. How are you, sir? Guys getting tonight. Yeah. Gonna have on. Yeah. Love your podcast as always, you know, John Sharon was talking minute ago. Something about China and communism. Yeah. I thought communism. Let's see communism. Started in Russia. Why did that start? Well, let's see they had a Royal family that it's been in power for three hundred years. Let's just cut to the chase time for for them to go. Okay. No, not a communist. But this is the last are they had was just making decisions on things. He had no knowledge of it was time for him to get lost. Anyway, we kind of have wanted Cincinnati for six teen years and it was ago. That's kind of what I got out of that. So I am very confident Zach Jaber. And if he doesn't do well, I agree won't be here. Sixteen years. We'll move on from him and two or three years. Who knows I hope we don't end up like the Browns where were, you know, kicking people out every other year, but at the same time, you know, the team is in nowhere near the condition. It was when Dave Shula took over. We have our own stadium or not in trouble with the IRS offer didn't just pass away on us. We're in pretty good shape. I think we're going to be five. Well, that's. Gotta tell you normally from from other callers that cigarette say, lak-, whatever, but you. I've seen a lot with this franchise. You have seen. You've experienced a lot. You have you have been through a lot with this franchise. So I would I take your word for it. John before we get you off the air here. Your your take on Drake her, Patrick, and I don't know. I I don't know how big of a social media guy you are. But your take on Drake ERC Patrick sticking up for a guy who I know, you know, in our in our conversations, the guy, I know you who has been in your personal doghouse. A guy who stuck up for the Bengals franchise guy who stuck up for Bengals fans everywhere in terms of what Jeremy hill recently. Some some recent Jeremy hill remarks, I I would be very interested to hear what you have to say about drinker Patrick on that regard. Well, I don't follow Gregor bedrick. He's not my favorite. So you would have to you'll have to educate. Okay. Well, basically, Jeremy hill as you know, is on the patriots and was injured. I gotta educate John. This is a good segue to another thing, we're gonna be talking about anyways. So it's good. But basically Jeremy hill member of the patriots did not do. Not play meaningful snap with with New England on his Instagram page, basically took a shot at Bengals fans saying imagine being a bangles fan today. While while if video of it while he was obviously engaging in the patriots parade festivities and all that kinda stuff and Drake her Patrick fired back on the same social media platform, saying imagine, something something effective. I wouldn't want to win a championship trophy. If I didn't play meaningful snap. Yeah. Exactly. And have forgotten Jeremy hill fumbling the ball in the playoff games that when she nobody referring to that. Nobody has. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean vervet just intercepted the ball. There's a minute and a half web. What is Jerry veal it gives it right back to Pittsburgh alive? You know? I mean, and you Jackson put him in and hill had been prone to fumbling here they bench team several types for that. Why you wouldn't trust birkhead for such little time on the clock before you would Jeremy hill birkhead or Bernard Benard or exactly what just happened the ask leaning hat, and it says it and he should've happened after that game. And it should've happened after the charges game years before. So. Going back to the Russian thing. It was just time for some people to go. Who are one hundred percent, correct? Thanks, john. We're gonna we're gonna get you off the air here. I appreciate you calling in listening. Always my friend. Hello. I'm Spencer hall from SP nation. And I want to tell you about my new show. It seemed smart it seems smart as a show about people doing things that for some reason or another seem smart at the time. Those things might include doing a little cocaine and driving a bike up a mountain or I don't know maybe racing one hundred miles per hour across the country in the middle of the night with no one's permission or even stealing a bat from an empire is room in a major league baseball park, check it out. And if you like it Tele friend, I'm Spencer hall, don't do anything smart. John from Kentucky. Great calls always end as a as a history guy. Like, I mentioned earlier in the show. You gotta love that bit this. We used to have a segment year. John John from scaring clan. John from deducted Susani. We have it in. I kind of want to do that this week the hater of the week in the hater of the week is Jeremy L of the Bengals. And I could not believe I mean, I kind of leave it same time. It's kind of like. Dude move on. Unless he is still getting unless there are some third Bengal fans out there. And if this program, y'all single you out, if you're if you at the time going so media and dog Jeremy hill for something happened three years ago. Yes, it's a terrible terrible terrible moment in Bengals history. But if you have if you're sitting you're using your free time to go dog, a professional athlete about a screw up. He did then shame on you. I mean, right. But at the same time shame on Jeremy hill for using a big platform that he has instead of saying like, hey, it he didn't even need to mention the Bengals he doesn't even talk about him. And he's he basically gives the middle finger indefens- the middle finger publicly on one of the biggest social media platforms. Are is this finger hit for him. Wasn't wasn't busy enough yet utilizes one to exactly it's like like, I don't know if you follow Kevin Durant in Navia in. Things that he does. But every follow not not Kevin Durant. Every time. I see Renton. I'm just like what are you doing? And this is like like like. Like, this is this is preposterous. What what you the the the potential situation that that that you describe is basically the only logical reasonable explanation for why he will do the he's sing ease. Looking at the five percent Bengals fans who still taunt him about the fumble. It was storing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like easing, those fivers advance and generalizing the entire fan base doing. So basically trying to dunk on all of us who for the most part haven't thought of Jeremy hill since he left for the patriots because there's never been a less relevant SuperBowl winner than Jimmy hill. He played four snaps during the regular season. He hasn't played some ember in like he the best four Bengals on that roster expert has been a valuable contributor for the past years. The patriots as I think it's also a drink rider said congratulations expert on your Super Bowl championship. But honestly like this could not have possibly netted a positive outcome for anybody involved because it is triggered every Bengals fan who again did not think of Jimmy hill at all during during the Super Bowl. During the season in general trigger them into adding him just egging him on creating even more of a stir up in more of a fire and just making the situation worse for them at just feeding Jimmy hill. Exactly what he wanted him with. That was obviously triggered Bengals fans who are reminded of the very thing that Germany hill did the white people hate him why wipe something fan spice in. But not to the point where they were for the most part again for the most part Bengals fans did not engage your meal that much on social media about what he did they moved on that point because it was time for him to move on to the expiration of his contract. You just had to head no value here anymore. Go make yourself with good team in the patriots. Like, there's no need to dance on the grave that was not stirring up anything in the first place other than just a handful of people on the side. If you're gonna look at those few Bengals fans who into your mentioned about, you know, the the unfortunate act that he did as as the Bengals as ever the Bengals team back until fifteen that's fine. But don't love every single one of us in into the same thing. Just 'cause yourself. To be dunked on by everybody who did not think twice about you. I there are a couple of things here that I that made me first of all like you said, I kinda was like, oh, that's right. He's on the patriots. I mean, I I honestly forgot I was like. There is a part of me that says, okay, why is New England. So great at taking trashy guys now grant now granted Germany hill didn't do much for this year's championship run. But. There's Rex Burkhead. There's Devlin the fullback there is, you know, they grab Chad Johnson at one point they had Corey Dillon at one point. They had Delvaux Neil after delta. Neal was was on the bagels ahead are TRE Hawkins after that. He was on the Bank. They grabbed these guys that, you know, have contributed else where they get them cheaper in. They say come in in part of me is like why does that team know how to do that? And nobody else knows how to do that. Ryan. I think the spotlight is brighter because they're just constantly in the championship game. But at the same time, it's also there in the championship game for practices like that. Right. Right. I think it's a same Monson who is one of the main gastric PF. I think he says only tremendous about. Yeah. Hero belt Bill rates versus the coaches a fundamental person. Most coaches have system with various granite, Greg with various predations of of how successful that system is the struggles is when the system gets timing. They'll chicken game plans third dynamic, and I think that's the main fundamental difference between Bella check in the thirty one other head coaches like people implement systems, and when the system needs to change is hard to change something serve rigid. Yes, exactly is not fluid not liquid bell check in the reasonable. The patriots have always been so good countering every single team in every eliminate. Everybody's strength is because they're so fluid. They can implement guys who can kind of buy in to to the fluid game planet, and they always will be able to identify which players strengths that they have and put them in the best possible situation. They will never run the same offense every two weeks in whenever you try to do something that successful against them though. Find a way to adapt because they don't have anything they're committed to. So when. So when they bring in these mid level guys guys in they end, somehow the ended up being a lot better than what they're paid to do is because they find in identify the the strength. They have and they just work around that in whatever they do offense defense completely predicated upon the eleven guys around the field at at that certain point in time they can run a spread offense. They can go to tune the shock head. Brady's the ball around or the can go twenty one person personnel selected against the Rams run down your throat. It's all dependent upon who is available to them at the time because they can utilize anybody that that they want because they're not tied down anything there. So so adaptive in a capable of him because they have a head coach that recognizes that things are so fast paced, moving in the NFL in you need to have that mindset to essentially utilize what you have in this. I think exactly why they can take the gerbils expert as in, you know, whoever else leaking grab off in Browns roster guessing just make him into quality parts guy. I mean, this this feeds into. A couple of listener questions. We'll get to before we get before we get out of here we were going along. But we started late. So, you know, we've got a couple of questions we want to get to aside from the calls. We got but. It's the patriots are the NFL could billions. Right. I mean, there are so many bad. There are so many fads, you know, everybody's out. You know, multiple tight ends multiple wide receivers in, you know, the safety cornerback non linebacker defense and all that kind of stuff. You know what the chiefs ran that stuff? The Rams ran that stuff. They put that stuff out there. They got a lot of attention for it. And rightfully so. Because he wants Uber bowl peop-. Bill belichick. Tom Brady, Tom Brady guys who were able to figure out stuff with the people. They have in the building and plans with the people they had in the building to say, okay run who you want out. We will do what we need to do. And we'll beat you. And that brings me kind of to it's not necessarily a direct question that we received this week. But this is a question that I've seen a lot in Bengals forums on Twitter on all kinds of stuff. John. I mean. With with what Zack Taylor is bringing to the Bengals does the Super Bowl loss. And the performance of golf does that taint your view, or should it taint your view of Taylor coming to Cincinnati in what he is potentially capable of doing with the Bengals issued tender view of any dulling unders activity because violent tents purposes jerk off his more talented version of any Dalton, but they both have similar weaknesses where if you pressure them in if you force them to look beyond the certain amount time with the ball news to get out. They can get flustered. They can make bad decisions on depression. That's exactly what happened with patriots in. How they like. Like the pass. Rush wasn't tremendous for the patriots against the Rams coverage was outstanding in their able to confuse golf, and there's only so much that a quarterback coach can do especially when he's not the one talking into goff's helmet bike up until fifteen seconds since basis what he's always done as advantage against teams aren't the patriots who aren't so adaptive on the fly in. Don't buy you know, a quarterback like offs weaknesses. But you know, people are talking about, you know, Kazak Taylor. Elevated dulling will any don't thirty two years old. He's basically is what he is this point than he can get the maximum what he is. But he can't probably get into any further and for people who think that you know, if you're if you're Goff can't score more than three points against the patriots with that offense in that offense of line those weapons around him. It's hard for me to believe that donkey do such a thing because that's the goal right is to beat the patriots until the patriots aren't the dominant team anymore and with a quarterback liking dulled. I don't think that's a likely scenario. Even with a guy like Taylor if he's bringing that same system with the Rams like we just saw it. It's not it's not a perfect system because it's not the patriots in unless you have a quarterback like Mahomes like drew or someone who can elevate your surrounding talents. Just really hard to do that. Because you have to you have to out patriots. The patriots in the only way that we've seen done that is if the quarterback disco. Goes also the wall, if you have any line main where Nick foles, you can somehow out of the blue, you know, perform out of their minds, you know, if you have a quarterback lay new dog who's were split Beck of all time. It's hard for me to see that happening. Even with a coach soup will presumably bring in some offense of innovations that that helped the Rams gifted that position. Right. Yeah. Very well said, and I might might take away from this is is. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are the whatever you, you know, if you hate him or whatever the the stats show the amount of rings show that they are the greatest dynasty or coach quarterback tandem ever ever. Now how much longer they'll they'll be doing? It is up for debate. My guess is probably within five years. I would say that one. If not both of those gentlemen, will probably hang it up. My my my point is. I look at it in. I say, you know, I don't think this Knox Taylor. I don't think this knots his prowess as a coach, I don't think any of that. My thing is I don't. I just don't think there's someone there is a couple in terms of a head coach quarterback out there or has that has yet to be linked up. That can. Beat them. I mean, I it just that is the NFL landscape at this point. I mean, I I don't they're not winning every year. But. I mean. Was it nine Super Bowl six wins? Something something to that effect. I mean, it's it's absurd. It is absurd. What those what would those two have done, especially with sometimes the personnel. Dave brought into the Super Bowl. I mean, the fact of the matter is that it's going to take them retiring or some tandem better than them to be able to consistently compete nifty in consistently Pete in Super Bowl in that is Dave captured lightning in a bottle in good for them wonderful for the patriots. But. It's kind of unfortunate reality in. It's not a slide against Zack Taylor's unfortunate reality that teams. Just aren't. They don't have that. They're they don't have that relationship court quarterback coach relationship that his able to net amount of Super Bowls. They don't have that in their back pocket now. And you know, Bella tick is the my behind the whole thing. He's the greatest head coach Alzheimer's quest about the we just talk about you know, he doesn't bitches you'll have a Cisco system, but they do have a network of of coaches and players also bring the also form the whole thing. Like Brady mcdaniels basically able the offense are able to change on a moment's notice. Dante's Carney show whose line coach might be the grace offense line. Coach of all time. You wonder why brave doesn't get doesn't ever get hit? And why the Rams pass rushers nullified from us. The second half is because they handle stunts packages run any scheme roadblocking because they're just so well coached with that. And then the like obviously bell take handles defense in is defense coordinators always seem to give promotions will not. So there is a system in a live. Of cohesion in communication in cash since without throughout the entire staff because they're bonded by one. You know, spearheaded in Belgium, and I think with with what Taylor was talking about the introductory conference. It was clear communication clear connections, clear cohesion throughout the entire staff all on the same page. That's kind of what you know. A breed abridged version of what the patriots have in that in that thing that's very important for build. No, his his offense needs to be on the same page in have defense that is able to go go with some of loss season kind of all one cohesive page, that's a part of it. But again, it's obviously Brady Brady, you know, he's not the greatest throw of football. But he the way he greets the field the way he communicates with with Daniels in the system that they've obviously instituted is second none in how they can consistently maintain drives is part of the process. I guess that's that's that's the process of Taylor needs to try to emulate the. Visibility in just bringing you know, guys players coaches that will best work under the type of system that he wants to implement e I can't I can't think of another team who has done a better job of adapting to what their opponents do than the New England Patriots. No now, the patriots don't have the best roster. I don't think in the league. Now if they probably have the best coach in the best quarterback in the league. But what they do is. They just adapt adapt debt. I mean, if I saw briefly before we came onto the program tonight. I saw something that NFL network was coming on. It was the old dot I don't know two thousand one or I don't know when it was it was the the Super Bowl where they played the patriot the Panthers, and it was with Jake delone Steve Smith, Julius peppers. I mean there there are a lot of guys on the timber go. Wow. And that the. Pay the the Panthers team is very well rounded, regardless of your thoughts of Jake alone. Very well rounded in it was a team that could put a points a team that could do a lot of the Dan wargin. Linebacker. Good linebacker. I mean, they could do a lot of things. Well, what idiots do they ended up? Just kind of basically outscoring them that game. And it was a game. That was like not really Tom Brady. Threw a red zone interception. I mean, it was a game. That was not pretty. But somehow they just keep doing it. And I, you know for for those folks those Bengals fans who are sitting here going. Oh, this is a slight against Taylor that you know, his quarterback didn't play while. You know what? Yeah. But at the same time, it's kind of like, well, it's the patriots. And we all gotta deal with it until those guys are done. I mean, I it's just kind of a reality of the league at this point. So that's that's I mean, I I wish I had a better answer for it. But that's. That's kind of where we're at. We're gonna do one more question before we get out of here. We've got a number of texts we've got a number of questions in the YouTube jet. We appreciate it. This was in Email question. I wanted to get this from Mohammad Alam air. Saying greetings. I I wanna thank you guys for your show of in watching you for almost two years. I guess I'm your only fan from Saudi Arabia slash Scotland. Mile. Well, that's cool. My first question is we keep saying that we have so much talent defense in so much of that talent out wasted. Do you agree that a priority high level defensive coordinator is as important as a head coach? Do you think we need to new starters at linebacker this year? Thanks for your Email Muhammed. I'm gonna say this in lead. You my esteemed co host, your John is more of the film guru in a little bit more of he dives more in depth on that front than I do in terms of the position group. I'm gonna say this and kind of just basically what we talked about look, man. This is a quarterback head coach league. And you can sit here and say, hey, you know, the Ran's did well because they had Wade Phillips as defensive coordinator in established coach in this league. It's a league that is built on. You. Gotta get your quarterback in. You. Gotta get a head coach that your players gravitate to. That's what it is. And I would not be surprised if the Rams are consistently in the playoff picture over the next handful of years, and I think the Bengals to their credit recognize the fact that this is a team that needed a change at head coach. I don't know if that means a change at quarterback could becoming but that's what this league is. And. I think the Bengals probably need an absolute overhaul linebacker, especially with Marvin Lewis, gone a linebacker guru. But all at you talk about those questions, John. Yeah. You look at McVeigh in his early success. And you know, he's obviously a lot because he runs the offense any puts the entire defensively Phillips sandwich on the very best coordinators of of the this generation in, you know. Like his point the top four scoring offense in the NFL ended up going to the if championship teams scored Matterson. That's the only thing that matters. But also if you don't have one of those top tier offenses, you're gonna defensively probably a little better than with the Bengals defense put down twenty eighteen. So yet having that defense coordinator that young head coach can young offense of head coach can lean on is to is crucial in its own, right? And getting hired will matter to maximize, you know, some of these young guys who are gonna try to, you know, take over for eventually when Gino Atkinson, Carl leave the team for for their respective reason. So getting getting the defensive coordinator higher is important, especially when he can put up thirty points a game in adult think things often still be do that in twenty nineteen less a major changes happen and with linebacker group. Yeah. If one of the that were taught as perfect means, obviously did not start Brian up being on the team that. Visuals a different story because I think there is still something there. It's not something. Great live, maybe selling good. But something that you can. At least try to out there kennel for couple of hundred snaps. You know, he wasn't completely healthy this year. I think he he was he would've had a little bit more offer. But the ad like anti said major a major overhaul of that position needs to happen specifically with the depth that they have their MRI brain products. Go are definitely definitely definitely needs to go link. Jefferson needs to be given a chance to play significant snaps they needed at least another draft pick in inequality free agent signing there to kind of get that position to some form of competency because it was just amongst the very worst the NFL. And when you have a defensive line that like the Bengals last year couldn't consistent create pressure. And then you have a scheme that opens the middle of the field so much like the Bengals defense does than you're gonna. You're gonna be relying on those linebackers in covers midfield tackles that was to areas that the Bengals were just crap at unless they can just you know, the whoever leaves the defense of coordinator. Will probably a more linebacker friendly schemes in in coverage. What not, but the definitely needs just more town because just nothing resembling that they're right now. Yeah. You know that goes back to I think it was. Tyrrell's call on her show talking about Sean Williams in you know, he almost linebacker type of type guy, you know, you gotta have those capable guys in space. It is what it is. But yeah, the Bengals needed overhaul at the at that position. But I still go back to a waiver on an elite defensive coordinator. Or you know, I mean. I don't know if a lot of people would sit here and say, Gary kubiak is a is in a league coach, but he won a Super Bowl with. You know? Say that. Yeah. I mean, he he's he wants to roll with some revolving parts at defensive coordinator in you know, you've seen what you saw this year. With the two teams in the Super Bowl. I don't I don't wait Phillips has been a head coach in this league in his been to at mixed results as a head coach at best. So to me, it's get your head coach and get your quarterback is what it's all. Always you can you can get your your great supporting staff like McVeigh did in a way Phillips and all that stuff. But in that's probably something that that Zack Taylor is going to try and emulate, but at the same time, it's kinda like. I don't know, man. Like if you're the guy, and you got a quarter it you've got your quarterback than. You're set set. I mean, that's. And that is that is what the Super Bowl taught us. I think is coach quarterback you're gonna win. I mean, that's that's what it is. And you know, unfortunately, some of us who are not patriots fans are followers of the patriots probably have to wait until certain people retire for that torch to be passed. But that that is what it is this better bagels. What's that any or Beckham? As not he's not that quarterback. He is not unfortunately, I wish I I wish I could say he he was. But he's not the quarterback this the orange black insider beings podcast. He's John Sharon, I'm Anthony Kazan's. You can get they show on Stitcher on Google play on itunes on YouTube in cincy jungle dot com as well as megaphone. If he has any final thoughts for this week. Yep. Augury pleasant is better than gone Capers. So hope that. I'm very interested to see who becomes the fence line linebackers coach have imagined probably some Zack Taylor connections that I need to connect the dots with. But you know, hopefully that happens before we come back here next. Once we get this full coaching staff the wraps. Yeah. It seems a did put this on the Bank the orange black insider podcast feed. But it seems as if Ben Martin is going to be teams some sort of a cystic coach as nothing to line. Yeah. And James Casey will probably be coaching the tight ends group. Ironically for those who remember James Casey was actually brought in for visit a handful of years ago by the Bengals in the playoffs. When he was the Texans. Yeah. He's kind of Abraham. Yeah. He didn't torture zone dance did that. But I think he. He played dachshunds turn them. And he he's kind of an H back guy different guy. But you know, hey, whatever, I mean, I I was a fan of the Hayes brothers. They did some good work with the Bengals but time to move into new direction. And I think that that Casey could could provide a good spark there. So that just a little bit of update there. But yeah. More things to come. The combine is just around the corner for the for the Cincinnati Bengals in every team in the NFL. I don't know if my colleague. John Sharon, it will be going to that event or not like he did with the senior bowl. But. He's not. We'll try and get maybe some people from from Indianapolis on the program went up it at any rate.
