And then last cardinals nomination, Jeff Albert, the hidden coach who will not be back, apparently part of why he decided not to return is that cardinal's Twitter was mean to him. Very mean to him. Yeah, so according to John mozzarella, Jeff Albert had frustration, quote, about the frequency with which he took blame for the team's offensive struggles and mentioned the tenor of social media comments as a factor in that frustration. So Jeff Albert does not officially have a Twitter account, but he must have a burner in there somewhere. He must have, he's lurking, and I guess he did not like what he saw on cardinals Twitter, and so the team was prepared to offer a new contract to him, but he decided not to return and that was cited as a reason why. So, you know, people are pretty mean to hitting coaches when the team doesn't hit. It's certainly not always their fault, but cardinals, Twitter, was especially hard on Jeff Albert for one reason or another rightly or wrongly. And he took his leave and that was one reason why I'm sure that wasn't the entire reason, but that was a reason. Wow. Yeah. Now the cubs, so listener Arya pointed out that the cubs went 21 and ten against NL east teams and did not have a losing record against any team in that division and actually swept the Phillies in the season series. So 28% of the cubs wins came against NL east teams and that ended up impacting the play out phrase. So that's interesting. I did not know that the cubs owned the NL east. And also listener Nicholas nominated and we may have mentioned a bit some point, but he wrote for the cubs I nominate Christopher morell, who was such a delight. He always smiled and hugged opposing players every game when he came to bat he fist bumped the home plate umpire or tried to, some empires did not want to do that. And on top of a very successful season for a player who was not a top prospect being called up from double-A, he deserved some spotlight just for being the positive guy. He is. He also had a very fun case where he pinch hit homered in his first at bat and supposedly he called his shot in any earlier, two Wilson Contreras who had hit a Homer in his first at bat years before, so this was one of the many instances of players predicting something which happened so often that we don't discuss it that much anymore. So that was a fun moment. What do you think? If you were a home plate umpire and a better come to the plate went for the fist bump, would you leave him hanging or what? Oh man, it's so fraught in both directions, right? Because if you do it in a game that counts, right? Nelson Cruz took a selfie with Joe western the austro-hungarian All-Star Game. He had his phone in his pocket. We're not doing anything serious, right? But if you do it in a game that actually matters for something, you're going to be accused of biased toward the hitter, but if you don't, people are going to call you ground be, you know? And they might accuse you of bias, the other direction. So I think that the only answer you have in that moment is to immediately start doing your home plate chores. I didn't see it. Sorry I was cleaning the plate, you know? Like, I'll get you next time, but I won't. So it's a fraught situation. Yeah, it's tough. Being very friendly. Yeah. And he's putting them in a tough position by being so friendly. Right. I'm sure empire is appreciated on some level. Like players often not so nice to them friends often that's so nice to them. But they have to maintain some remove of some sense of impartiality and objectivity and if you fist bumped him and then you immediately fist bumped like the catcher and the pitcher, if you fist bumped everyone, then maybe you'd be seen as unbiased, but otherwise it's tough. Right, and then if you're like, you fist pump the hit, or you just sit at home run, and then you turn to fist bump, the catcher, and also the pitcher, they're gonna be like, what are you doing? That was terrible. I didn't want that to happen. We're not rewarding that. So I think that someone should pull the young man aside and be like, look, it is a nice thought. You're clearly trying to be, you know, like a generous, kind of coworker, sort of coworker, right? I'm like, I get it, but also it's like, you gotta not do that. They do have chit chat often, you know? Hitters will come to the plate and they'll go, you know, hey, how's it going? If it's someone who is been their home plate umpire before and I think that a whole book could be written about the relationship between catchers and umpires, right? Because they are at odds, but also have an appreciation, unique to each other about what it feels like to get hit in the face with a freaking baseball. You know, so they have, they have care and consideration, but also antagonism, so there are a lot of ways in which that relationship is fraught, but you have to at least allow people to maintain the illusion of complete divorce objectivity. Allow for that. I wonder if he helped grudges. I don't know whether he fist bumped just before his first at bat of the game or whether he fist bumped every time he came to the plate, but if he got rung up on a borderline pitch and he disagreed with the call, would he still fist bump the next time up, or if the umpire, if the previous batter had had a call go against him, would he still fist pump? I wonder whether he withheld fist bumps, just based on the situation or how the empire was performing in that game or whether he just turned the other cheek and fist bumped regardless. Anyway, interesting. Yeah. All right, we're up to the Diamondbacks, not a lot of on the field nominations here. I don't know whether they're weren't interesting stories or whether we just talked about them. I think we talked about some interesting Diamondbacks stories. They are perhaps over represented based on my proximity to the big league club.

"I mean, it must have been 5 feet high and ten feet wide, a pile of all these baby dolls, and then you just doused it with some dark red paint or scarlet looking, and so it just looked like all these bloody babies and it was such a powerful anti abortion message. "I'm talking about typewritten psalms and messages from the Bible. We're replacing all that font with you may be familiar with Leela lo font to kind of update the message from its severe times the Roman that we had up there previously. But we're trying to soften it and it is a message of course, but I think everything that we gaze upon is a message that our creator loves us. Isn't that right? And he's the best artist. And are those some I did want to ask you about Vaughn because it's not often that you see someone in a sailor suit both around twin hills. And then also what I would call not an unfriendly affect, but when I realized later is that I believe he doesn't speak English or maybe not as first language. So because I did say hello, good morning and he just kind of looked at me with a surprise look. So how did you all come to work together? My first international trip was to Thailand for vacation. And I met him there. He speaks very little English. A lot of people think he's my child, adopted or otherwise, because that is a child sailor suit that he wears. But he's not definitely has an eye. We actually have been, I know you guys are impressed with what we hang around the facility in the campus, but you would not believe the pieces that we have put in pastor Steve's house. And the pieces that we do to litigation and other reasons can't display yet that are just stored below the campus. Oh, wow. Oh, is that way okay, so is that Disney? I was wondering, where do all these pieces go when they're not on the walls? We cycle through a lot of things. We try to keep it fresh. I mean, aside from von and I, we have a series of facilities workers that do hang in level everything. You know, right now we're in the process of taking down the prayer quilt that's in the B building and replacing it with a piece that we've acquired that is not the Shroud of Turin, but its pieces of other shrouds, I don't know if you, if you were as old as I am, you might remember that there's some pictograms where you have to relax your eyes and see other things. These are actually pieces of the fabric, then you relax, yes, exactly magic eye. Thank you. You relax your eye and you'll see a close up on the visage of Christ. That is amazing, a crowd of shrouds. Well, and I like that he's always in a sailor's suit. I mean, he's nothing, if not predictable, but I was sort of curious about it, is he dressing for the job he wants? Or is he just trying to stand out? You want to know a secret? I don't know. Also yeah. He shows up every single day on time. I don't see him arrive. I've never seen him in a car. I've never seen the leave. And I don't know where he lives. Oh, wow. But I brought him home to Indy, and he debarked a pulling disembarked the plane with me. And disappeared. Shows up every single day. I have no idea where he comes from and where he goes but he shows up every single day, right on time. And I've never seen him speak a word of English. I don't know if he knows what I'm saying. We communicate in a certain way. And I think the work we do is proof of something higher than we can. Well, you mentioned tech, you mentioned pastor Steve. "Yes, awesome honestly who are they now? Sorry, Esther Kathy is the founder of Chick-fil-A. And David green was the founder of hobby lobby. Their family, family, Christian family owned businesses and you may or may not know they do a lot of secret operations to for one of the better term liberate Christian art from the so cool. Oh, it's like Indiana Jones or something. In a lot of ways, yeah. Well, I love hobby lobby. I mean, it's full of wholesome activities and boy, do I love a Chick-fil-A? I can't get enough of their Chick-fil-A sauce. I don't know what's in there. It's crack. Well, we'll look out. You don't want to get addicted to it. I will say the hobby lobby has the cleanest public men's room you'll ever find. Oh, isn't that neat? And so tac, have you ever gotten to join those guys on one of their stealing missions? So I have not. But I will say you guys know that the fully clothed David that we commissioned for twin hills. Yes. I was actually flown to the quarry in Italy. We chose the marble and chose the perfect veining on the marble to match as close as we could to Michelangelo's David before we before we commissioned a fully closed version of it. So there's only the second time I traveled internationally. That is fantastic. And I love the choice kind of to put them in some cool street way, the drop crotch sweat pants and the tank top. I just thought that was like really showing, hey, this is a church that pays attention to history, but we're bringing it into the future. Absolutely. Oh, well, yeah. I mean, that can happen to anybody. And let's say the last one was, in first Samuel, the Israelites they lost to the Philistines in a battle and so they decided to take the arc with them, the ark of the covenant so that its power would protect them from the Philistines, but not only did it not protect them, but the Philistines captured and stole the ark of the covenant. Which would make you think that the ark wasn't that powerful, right? Right. But everyone came down with a bunch of tumors. The ash Dodds, the gaffes and the Philistines, they all were inflicted with terrible, terrible tumors, just God was given everybody tumors everywhere. "It's a treat and a treasure. Well, per huge, I'm joined by my co host. He's the youth pastor for our high school ministry called climax. It's gray Haas. Hey, three in one and one in me, Hallie. How are you? I'm so good. Blessed, how are you, my brother? We had so much going on around climax and my teens who came this weekend. You know, on Friday night, we had a party called faith based spelled like BASS like bass. Not the fish. That was confusing to some people. And we invited all the biggest Christian DJs in the greater Indianapolis area to come in spin. Oh, that's so cool. Did they have cool DJ names? Oh yeah, you know, we had DJ nicotine. Nick odemis, you know? He's an Irish guy. That was really cool. We had DJ wearable parable. He sold a bunch of Mitch. We had DJ Jersey bell. DJ WW JD. DJ, will you go to heaven dot com, which is cool. Because you could just check the link. And then the big finale Halle, we added DJ DJ NFT, who appeared as a hologram briefly until someone purchased him and then he just disappeared. Wow. I don't even know how that works or how that's possible. I know. And then, you know, I volunteered this weekend with my friend. I'm not sure if I've mentioned him. Yeah, this week was one of our CrossFit gyms. Does this awesome thing with an organization called traumatic lift? And it's a nonprofit that's specializes in healing trauma through lifting heavy objects rather than talking about them. Not talking about heavy objects? No, the trauma. You can talk about the lifts as much as you want. In fact, it's encouraged. But clay still recovering from a little skydiving incident. So he couldn't do much, but I stepped in and funny, it's because I have zero trauma in my background. Just no trauma. And I was able to set personal records in both the clean jerk and the power clean, which I think was super inspiring to people who were there who, you know, so many people are just so caught up in the past that they can not show up for the present and really lift. And I think I showed them how to do that, which was awesome. How was we, Kelly? Well, I've got a God thing to share. Really? What's up? Yeah, one of my daughters has been saying that she likes comedy. What started? The one who likes comedy and my husband lancelot and we've both, you know, we've been trying to keep an eye out for opportunities for her to use her comic sensibility..

"Well what have you thought of the The recent run of games right now for the saint louis cardinals. They have dropped four in a row including another one last night. But the to milwaukee the to we've seen with the dodgers will start with that. What have you thought. Well certainly the games in milwaukee were winnable games. And you're playing the game that's has now. What a fourteen and a half liters game lead in the division. You know you need to play well. In those games along was away from the team on paternity leave so they weren't full strength and the cardinals just unfortunately found ways to lose. And it's you know it's got to be frustrating for players to have games. That are winnable where they're ahead late and you know the bullpen can't get the job done and it's you know the two games against god you're so far it's for me at least had been a good reminder of the talent difference between the two teams i mean the dodgers are twenty eight games over five hundred whatever it is and you may not even win their division and even if the cartels make the playoffs if they were to play the dodgers as today would be the first wildcard. I mean you. Can't you know it would take a sucker punch to you know for them to be able to advance. The dodgers are just you know unfortunately a much better team than the cardinals right now albert pool halls. Another memorable moment at busch stadium. He seems to rise to the occasion. Doesn't he yeah. It was nice. It was a nice situation. Where of course he got a standing. Ovation is deserved into hit a home. Run off the lefty. Albert's of playing mostly against left handed pitching which is his strength is at this point in his career and for him to hit that no doubt about it home. Run to left feel was was a nice moment and you know you look ahead and say you know could albert help the cardinals in twenty twenty. Perhaps you know if they Do enacted designated hitter in the national league in You know they wanna left-handed match off the bench. Certainly albert could be that guy but you know the cardinals have other needs in their daily lineups that they have to address. It has to be more oppressed more pressing than just you know the nostalgia that bringing albert back to closes career would provide and it looks like adam wainwright We'll come back What what do you think. The the trickle down effect of that is for next year looking ahead at some of the minor league guys in her close and with what the cardinals have currently on the roster to be also the.
