"So I was very surprised and they did. I thought that take Max, Domi didn't take him not to take Dylan demelo, they didn't take him. They were just some guys that I am. Like surprised that they didn't take, they would have made sense, smart to pass on Johansson and Duchesne down in Nashville. I mean, that was kind of expected that, but Tarasenko, I would have thought, smart to pass on price, but like, off of Frank seravalli and the rest of the guys have been reports of just going scorched-earth, like, no, you're not getting any of this. This is all leaking before and then ESPN pretending like none of that had ever happened. So I was just press that they just went with, like, oh well, we don't know who the pic is, I thought of that point they were just admitted which again, I have no problem with the reporters breaking the news, but, like, the NHL had to know better to like not have like, a, a 10:00 hour window between these players and their agents, and their Camp. Knowing this, it's gonna come out with like, just the way they handle. That was crazy, but the fact that these friends Ram was set of, like, who could be, as we all knew Jimmy, every single pick was Michael every pack and then Steve Yzerman was the one who held the longest, the Red Wings. Matt eventually came out. I just didn't know, like, I guess the smart bulb. Be submit the list like an hour before. So you have time to tell the players or whatnot and then do the thing or I don't, I don't know. Cuz I know they wanted to tell the guys, they wanted to tell players that they'd been selected off. But I mean, they don't do that with like the entry draft like so why not just like submit the list and then immediately go on stage and do the show or you know and I know some.

"That's why they won back to back cups. I think last season was all steve yzerman. Because i mean pretty much everybody on that team judgment brought in but i mean this season being able to get that high over the cap hit what was eighteen million at the end of the day when it's all said and done like that's impressive like i know i know it's breaking the spirit of the rules and everything but it's in the rules. He followed the rules. He followed abused them better than any other. Gm did so he did his job. The best and that's why he won the the well. That's what it is about on. I'm not saying if you if you can push the rules to score more goals in and you don't do that. You're not doing your job so he did his job. The best of any. Gm did this year by going as high as he could over the cap it and he got another cut because of it so kudos to him you know. Another player wanted to talk about was a knicks zouqi. Holy crap man The combo of him in caufield over the next. I'll say decade because both of these guys are under the age of twenty two that playoff experience that the gained is completely priceless. I mean you can't put anything on it. There's nothing comparable to what they learn. Yes they lost in. You know they really probably wanted it for those guys. Like period and eric saul Shea weber you know carry price even okay prices not that to that age yet he kinda feel like that was his one in his one and only shot but you know the experience. They gained his tremendous for possible future. Stanley cup pushes. And that's what. I think they're still gonna be in the playoffs next year when it's also done because those young guys are still so good and they're just going to get better and like that's where they're like in my opinion. That's where the best part of their team is is in those younger guys in. That's only gonna get better from here so well In so let's talk about the stars related news to this Stanley cup final. Because there's a couple of interesting tidbits coming out of this. I completely forgot about this guy. But how about jamal smith. He got he got a stanley cup increases. Let hough who he used to play for. The sars Several years and he. Yeah i know. But i didn't know he was on the lightning. No i did. Neither until i saw it i guess he was a healthy scrapped. Kit's i saw them out there for the celebration but he wasn't playing the game obviously But you know he got himself a stanley cup good for him and you take them anyway in the end on the on the flip side on the this ad side corey perry second year on row a second chance to get the stanley cup and he falls short Any chances he returns to dallas just based off of the fact that he gained all this experience. No i agree with you too. There's a lot of people that want him to come back. And i'm just like you know we've moved on for them. We we got that opportunity for him last year. Readers could pull it over the door for him but he's shown that he is a playoff guy. So i think teams are going to want him. I ain't gonna go for a decently high price honestly just just because of what he doesn't play and he shows it last year and this year so right and anybody who is looking for the stanley cup push will definitely sign him. I mean you know those..

"May be as a backup somewhere else than that. Yeah that's what i'm thinking might happen. If he really wants to go for one heck maybe goes too. Maybe he goes to. The lightning seems to work out or just follow patent maroon. I mean that would work as well right. There was a bunch of jokes on twitter. That i was seeing that. Everyone's joking that they were gonna trade mitch minor for maroon because they have pat maroon. It's guaranteed you know. Go for eight million on the on the free agency market because of all the cups has man. That guy makes nine hundred thousand. You know as much as we drown on him and how how stars fans hate him just because of who he is. I mean he does a lot for that team. He plays on their fourth line and he was fantastic for them. He's a role guy he just ends up making big. Plays somehow right and you know. Let's let's talk about another storyline coming out of this Coming out of these playoffs is The the cap situation tampa bay I think they keep the core around a lot of these guys. you know. The big ones stamkos Headman kucherov vasilevskiy but some of these death players in some of these role players that they had I don't see them returning no way. I mean that's where their strength is really like if you look in the in the final game the big guys weren't even there like other other invest leschi. They weren't even showing up. They weren't even really getting great chances in my opinion but their debt is were. They win their hockey games. Like colt. coleman is the number one thing that looking at right now like he probably know chances in tampa bay next year. But that's where their strength is that's why they're able to win and so many different ways is because they had players who can do all the different things well and it's the same thing with All of those other players to you know blake coleman barklay goudreau and then you know speaking of other players that just happened to step up for the tampa bay lightning at the right time. How about the the golden goal for the for for tampa bay. ross colton. He comes out of nowhere this season and he seems to be relied upon and he scored the only goal in the in games five tampa bay lightning. And that's all they needed they just needed one and a it just goes to show you just how deep. This team is a and the deep. Let me ask you this question because there's a lot of Speculation between this to answer that people are talking about but a lot of people are saying that the success of the tampa bay lightning is because of steve yzerman who is no longer with the tampa bay lightning and he's actually now building the team in detroit a Other people are saying no. It's it had nothing to do with steve yzerman. It was all julian breeze bras. Do you think it's a mix of both or do you think it was all steve is..

"You a little parental note down. So I was always doing something. I was always going somewhere and my parents were just rock stars for that. You, you never really think about how much they sacrificed and give to you until you're older. And now you're Thirty. And you're like, I don't think I could, I could take care of a child right now. So love you, Mom and Dad so much. It sounds like they were both very inspirational to you both in the past and probe. And it's speaking of people that were inspirational in your life. What sports did you enjoy watching as a kid? Obviously whether it be in on T or in person? I know that you enjoyed watching hockey which we will get too short. We so what sports did you enjoy? Watching and are there any athletes in particular that you lived up to as a child both male and female? Of course. Yeah, I watched a lot of track and field. I thought Sonia richards-ross was awesome. I ran track in addition to playing ice hockey. So I did the 400 the 200, the four, by the four, by one. I thought I was really fast to get attributed to my speed on the ice and I really obviously, like Serena Williams and Venus Williams. I thought they were just Trailblazers and a predominantly white sport, which I felt, I could relate to playing ice hockey and my dad would always force me to watch the NHL, especially playoffs my favorite team or the Detroit Red Wings. I love Steve. Yzerman I love song. Call. I wanted to have a slapshot just like him and break like a million sticks in a game. I love Brendan Shanahan like those are my guys and they were so good, so it helped that I was favoring a winning team. I, I was a kid that just really loved to play more so than watch if you know what I mean. That sounds like you have been immersed in the sport of ice hockey from a very young age. We're going to be talking about that very soon. I find it very interesting though that you got into track and field and that kind of you said attributed maybe to your speed a little bit. So can we talk about that a little bit more? Did you do that? Competitively I wasn't more for fun. Yeah, it was more of a thing where my mom did the high jump. And I think she might still have the not the Collegiate, but the High School record in Cleveland Heights for it. Probably not but she used to. She would brag to me about it and I just wanted to try it. I thought it was cool and long. Jump was also my thought jumping in a huge box of sand seemed Really cool and I just like to compete. I love being in a lane next to someone at their very best against you at your very best was kind of what drove me to run a Check..

"And welcome back to star cast tick marks. This is ryan chambers alongside. My brother chris and we are here today for you guys at ten thirty at night to talk about the two recent stars games stars continue to roll against the bad teams. At least they pull out winds of four to one. Excuse me three to five to two over. The monday tuesday stretch. How're you doing chris. I'm doing great. It's not like they were just beaten bad teams. I mean they're taking care of business. The you've been doing it. They've been doing it pretty handily. Except for that shootout win. But but but i mean they are beating the bad teams right like. That's literally what they're doing but they're doing it. They're not just scraping by except for the one game. The first game on monday. I would agree with you. Although you know there were points in the game especially the second period after the the red wings got throttled in the in today's game and they came back and fought a little bit You know seeing this red wings team is actually kind of scary. The be one because it seems like they're already starting to get the pieces. That steve yzerman once for his future team so In you know the dave back pretty bad and in the stars have had to work for both. These wins in the past two games. Yeah drew enough. But i mean they just don't have the skill to really compete especially this game. That's what it came down to just a better hockey team than they were. Well if you're looking for like a story line for the night for tuesday. i think it's just the emergence of certain players in the lineup. That stepped up. Despite you know missing a rope a hints and missing a miro heiskanen for one of the few times this season so miro exit the lineup. Joel hanley reenters the lineup and So joe hanley stepped up to help replace miro heiskanen a little bit and then seemingly in who has looked really good over the past week and a half who came in for the stars Through waivers in the stars claimed him off. Waivers from the new jersey devils. He stepped up into that top four and he looked pretty good. Yeah he agreed. In my opinion it was very comfortable. Well in what's awesome about He's another puck moving. Defenseman a that. Will i think would be very useful Five six pairing for the stars. So they've got now. It seems like they've got a puck. Moving defenseman on all all three pairings which is legit and then he now. Joe hanley is your number seven which that's ridiculous. Yeah that's a pretty good seven. Yeah and the. The stars just got deeper. That was her big trade deadline. Acquisition was claiming offer waivers. So good pickup. very good. pick for the stars. So let's talk about this monday. Game i th the monday game was actually really fun to watch. You know despite you know being scared with the fact that You know we live the game twice and we allowed them to come back on both goals. It was still a fun game to watch overall detroit sides. Yeah i thought played great. Yeah that's why. I thought it was such a good game. 'cause detroit played really well the whole game so yeah. I totally agree..

"I'm not sure so the contracts are very comparable as in length, but it is when you think about the money because you're swapping one out for the next the other thing is we're very we're not strong but we do have a plethora of centers that are coming through the system IE. Jack's Tanika, you know some some Providence players down, you know plug and play's down there could fit in as well. As you know, the youth has been going into Incorporated this year. So I don't know. It's just something that I I want to see the right-wing done and and mantha is is a consistent Thirty goal scorer. The kids are freaking monster man, and he plays a really good heavy game along the boards and I think he'd be a solid fit. The reason why I don't think it's going to go is because of the fact is the challenge so streaky pointless when he goes pointless, it's it's long periods of time and I don't think that would be a very attractive to Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings, but I would imagine that had to happen you had to sweeten it up. Would you put throw in a Jake the browse two and a first-round pick just to get mantha? I don't know if that's going to absolutely work, but I wouldn't give debrusk and a first round pick if you're giving us to you're you're getting a second round pick. So I guess it all really that situation. I mean not a bad choice to maybe go after but I I also think it depends on what Steve Jobs Wise thinking he like he needs me at like he's one of his only good pieces. Like are you building this team around this like trying to appease these players in Larkin and all of them and this is going to be a rebuilt team or then rebuilding for like seven years. Yeah. You should blink fans She's In Crowd but really depends on what he wants like off cuz he doesn't Buck around like he might say I mean dabrowska is great. But I you can you guarantee me he's going to show up he might want but I don't think that I'm I'm more likely I think from myself to want to give up a couple players and keep our draft picks or give up a very lower draft pick than to even fuck around with the table back. Like I just we haven't had it in so long like we needed the last time we really had our first round draft picks was the like I mean just like a plethora of pics was when we drafted the wage. 2015 draft we haven't had a lot of high-end pics sent them because we trade out first and second rounds like the candy sometimes in certain deals that don't ever seem to work out for us. So I thought I'd like to avoid that but that's not a bad suggestion. But at the same time, like I said Stevie y might be like no I need to retain these five players are supposed to be the basis of going forward. They got rid of as as an essay or whatever as long as they're in the same to you. Yeah last year and I didn't think they were going to do that either but you know, I don't know. We'll see what happens. I still think there's enough time before the trade deadline age. You know, I mean if you're going to try and go out and get a Palmieri or so, you know Manta or something that you have to have a negotiation now, I don't really see a lot of people reaching out to us for things that we have that they yeah, they're and that's part of the problem..

"Yeah yeah. I'm very your baby. All connersville pari understanding. Gundy thing didn't work out the yes signing blake griffin. Didn't work out. None of that worked out for detroit. Then they moved into a new arena and their detroit. Sports is in dire straits. I talk to my my boss. He's he's from detroit. And i asked him he was here. I talked to him like you guys are not doing so hot over there as like. Yeah it's been the trash for quite a while for all the teams wild. The red wings are your biggest hope. Yeah and even then. There's still the worst team in the league. So there are there are a long way away from rebuilding. Just you have a little more confidence. Because they have steve yzerman at the helm and he did that for tampa bay so and he's probably got a big like soon as that team is ready to go. He's going to have a big budget because the redwings owners of been good in spending. So it's just a matter of time for them and even the even the tigers the same thing you know 'cause same ownership so they'll they'll be ready to go but detroit the pistons and the lions. That's not much on rear plan. Yeah you have to have to help detroit. Somebody like a superstar or they can find a way to to finagle a a chauncey tae schon ben wallace who has a rip hamilton type of team again. But even then he's not gonna be doing that. It's just not the way. Nba played anymore. So what's concerning about any upcoming draft. I leave at this. Detroit is that You really don't know what the player talent is. I have not watched a single bit of college basketball whatsoever. I had kind of man. I love college basketball to watch this march madness back office. You don't care because of everything that's going on. Yeah that's next week. Next week is the was the selection. Whatever and then we'll get the plan round. So yeah that's gonna be interesting but Yeah i haven't seen a single college men's basketball gain. I only saw one women's basketball game and that was it. I have not paid attention whatsoever. Even though the seminoles are having a good season so it's just a matter of just my tastes and the backlog calls to me as well and the panthers doing well. So i'm watching them instead is making me happy. You know certainly has done better nets. So that's that's that's a nice miracle this season and yeah..

"They call his nickname. Is the captain you know. That was one of the biggest things with steve yzerman. Is you know the captain. You know what i mean he was. He was a tremendous captain and it was a it was a big deal now and it's been it was a big deal. Speculation is that it might have been eddie's idea to db to do this to bring doug young up and you said you here because you're so so yes here's the thing i mean. That was my read. The second quote is that adams whenever every time there's an an issue of significance. He has the three musketeers. Abby goodfellow larry orient herbie lewis alongside the whatever. Whoever's the captain all three of these men at all three ben captains that losing. And larry orient both captains in says any any decision of any significance is going to be brought before this brain. Trust the three musketeers before the decision is made air go. If here's you know whether it was jackson's idea nobody knows. This is the thing i need. People understand no. There's no article that talks about why they did it. I was going to address the they made they did not. That's what i'm saying. There was note. And that's what i'm saying. We have to so we have to use the evidence of the ensuing events glean. What the rationale for doing it. Because he's not gonna come out and say he's not gonna call and say doug young doesn't believe he's a star so we're going to make him a star by force them to be captain. Yeah it's not gonna come on say because that's kind of because now that actually loves even more pressure on doug young and kind of makes them look. I don't know how great a look that is sure. So he's not going to necessarily come out in say that they're going to say dog. We have total confidence you but there is a little bit of evidence that concert us on the path towards understanding. And this is the quote that want to get into so so. This actually comes out. This is february of nineteen thirty four prior to that thirty four thirty five season. It's like the it's actually. I think it's at the tail end actually of the thirty three thirty four season. So so this right here says so so this talking about doug young re says so so so it's a longer glean out the most important section here in this troy times dated february fourth nineteen thirty four talking about doug young he is however given to lapses and it is when in it is when he has lighter moments that has placed slips back into mediocrity say the same observers because at the beginning says into densely youngest playing great hockey. And he's you know he's talking about how good he is but then he says he is however given to lapses and it is when his lighter moments that is play slips back into mediocrity say the same observers so so right there it just means saying right there there. The newspapers are like these papers. Would like these guys are great. They're amazing whatever and then however he's got these moments where he's mediocre totally mediocre in now. This is where. I don't have a quote for the next step in the process that you know the reason i say this reluctance star but doug young you know just over the volume of reading about. I mean talking about years and years of reading about this okay. Years of reading about these players years read about atoms. It's tough to quantify to put all the little pieces together. But what i'm saying is that you know doug young from from different. You know you're reading about these different games. You read about these different things. And there's this. There's a certain like difference of doug young to defer to other players. It's an interviews like You know even when he's the captain He's still like defers. Like oh i didn't do anything..

And this gives us great feedback. But today what. I want to talk about is. You cannot reap what you sow in the same season are. You can't reap what you saw in the same season. I what do i mean by that. Well the thing is is that If you look at farmers right nego and harvest Time they actually go out. They are planting the seeds in the ground. Gonna produce you know fruit going to produce apple tree orange tree. Whatever right they don't put those seeds and water it and all these things to and then the next day it's automatically they're right it takes time okay. And so what has happened with. Us is generation being that we are in this whole. You know we want things immediately right one immediate gratification. Because everything that is sold to us is on the speed with fast results of now got amazon one day shipping now used to be just two day shipping. One day shipping. We always apps that are right available tools. We have social media right. We have all these things that are instant to us. Instant oatmeal right. All these things that are instant through us and so it has conditioned us to a point that we don't want to wait for anything right we don't want to reap right and then so exactly and we. We don't want to wait. We don't want that to be a thirty day process. They we want where we want to reap. What we so same day right now right. We don't want to say we now that we know we wanna right now and that is what is causing a lot of us. This is as a generation of not seeing out seeing the finish line. Because we're looking for something to be a quick sprint. Was really marathon all right. We got when it comes to business. We have to eliminate when it comes out everything not just business when it comes to relationships when it comes to our our fitness. Our health things like that. There's no immediate gratification. Big about this. If you were to eat a pound. Kate whole pow. Kate yourself today. You may feel a little. You know little bit woozy or something after. Maybe maybe not right. You don't put those piles on right when you do it. You'll say all shoe. I just gain two pounds just by eating this whole pound cake. No but later on you pay the consequence of that and so you look at your life. Right now is debt. We're gaza what ever you choose to go. Whatever route you choose to do whatever decision that you make. Sometimes you don't pay the consequence or you don't see the win immediately. Will you will see it over the course of thirty sixty ninety days later anytime i look at my life and i say you know what. I'm not getting the results that i wanted to begin. I'm not where. I wanted to be with my health financially. I'm not where. I want to be right business. I'm not where i want to be. I can take a look at the past thirty to sixty days and see the things that i have not been doing which has led up to this moment and that kasich was paying is not something. I didn't do yesterday as something i didn't do. Two months ago is something. I didn't do a month ago. And the compound effect happen which caused this consequence. That i'm going through right now. I've always been able to lula do that. And look at that and see that it's my fault and so some of us we need to also take responsibility that you know they're trying to rush the process and get to immediate gratification purchase.
