"Diving and and snorkeling spots. Go out to you. Know this part of Mexico and We've done a couple of times we've done scuba diving. Maybe we can talk a couple of excursions. Though we've taken it got a little interesting in a little scary actually but so so the first one that we took. I think it was a snorkeling trip. We did the shallow snorkeling tour in the deep. End Right what they did. I don't know if that's the case today by you. Get on this boat and the not the wetsuit. What is what is the life jacket was optional? Aw and if you don't want some people want to dive and I don't know did we even aware I so would leave so I think a lot. We don't think I chose to wear a life vest. What they do okay? We will see you over there so we we just go slim that way and what happened we. Well we we booked this this snorkel tour through the chunk brief area and to your point it was a shallow reef dive or snorkel tour a deeper reef snorkel tour and the shallow was really cool unlocked by octopus. And you get up close with the reef and with the fish and there's always amazing then it's okay cool have doing that. And then next part of the day were off doing a deep and diverse underneath with a sphere. Study were spearfishing so it's really deep. I mean drops you off. And then it takes off a a mile down the coast and yeah we're cruising in the reef is gorgeous and there was a huge group or underneath us. I scuba divers as just another couple. Remember that deep dive. I know but I'm saying there is a big nose dive. There's a big old fish that was underneath us. Oh I'm sorry I thought you were talking talking about people me in another couple so just the four of US dropped off in the middle of the ocean okay. The boats going to go that way about mile mile down and he just keep on swimming. And we're gonNA find you or the current. Oh kind of help us so it was amazing. Say but unbelievable dive up. Just four of us in the ocean and We're swimming towards her. Boat can look down into your point and it's massive fish underneath a scuba divers all over the place the reef EST healthiest can be absolutely gorge justice. Chunk Anna if you know if he's just so in your if you like snorkeling live reefs and fish or diving or whatnot you gotta check it out but you know if you think about these as might be a similar type of snorkeling trips that you can take in Hawaii and one. This was a lot different. So maybe my WanNa grab if you're not comfortable. The swimmer the would put your vest on her. Have a vest with you you can float around. We didn't choose vests were good swimmers. Were pretty comfortable so I was okay with it but if you just get dropped off that might be. It's a little tour is not like that. It's just the one that had This was a long time ago so I don't remember the name of the the the tour group. I don't remember what it was either. But going back to chunk of the park itself when we took your folks in the kids with us you and your dad and our oldest boy ended up doing an introductory scuba course if you will real which was it. Tell us about that. That was kind of fun to Inchon in in chunk so my husband just push you should go. You should diving. One of us has to watch a young one so he stayed back and he kind of probably watched US diving from up above some some point my dad at that time way he was fifty and he just got the diving even before he got his diving license. Since I don't think he'd been diving like certified diving inside that's right. Yeah so this is an experienced dive so he you basically have a real brief briefing. You do this you do that. You blow this way you put this in your mouth and breathe and Dan. I was certified at that time. My other son who went with us I think he's done experienced eyeball has he not. I don't think so. I think he just did late where he had a reggae his mouth mask but that was about it never really were never had a tank on them or anything. So you don't think about it. I have the two others to to watch ashore. Inexperienced you have to carry does a heavy duty gear and you would forget to inflate at your mess. Hov Best and that's the one thing my dad forgot to do with this heavy tank. I'm keeping an eye on my son at that time and in some if I'm if I'm remember quickly to get into the water to walk down steps right. So you're you're walking with your heavy gear on towards these steps and he just walked down the steps in your into the water right. Dad walked down steps. And what did he do and they he started thinking and then I'm like literally screaming because he just came up for a water water somehow use all his strings. He's sinking down. It's getting deeper in an. I'm trying to pull him up and screaming at the same time and Kim. Somebody not helping. And I don't think about invading your vest because I don't know what he's done at that point right getting into the water and then in the meantime I was paying attention to my son because because there was a cave in hand my son going on during towards it and going into the Cave while my dad is drowning basis. Which one am I going to save? Of course young one. Yeah so I'm sorry but oh my gosh so that I'm screaming somebody. Just I got attention in a heap. pull him out in. My Dad's is on and you had to hold onto your fins to inflate and thank God mine was inflated. Maybe I checked is make sure my sons was an. I would've figure my dad is listening and doing doing all those things. Oh my Gosh I was so mad at you making me go and these two uh-huh my goodness. It was amazing. It was pretty cool. I remember I remember but by this time the time I saw you guys you're with the group in and cruise around I was up above you guys and I think the water may have been like thirty feet thirty five feet of the most. It wasn't like super deep but he hunts. It's plenty deep. I was snorkeling above. You guys remember diving down and checking everything out. I Remember Your Dad. Just kinda wandering off by himself in the divemasters got a knife and hit in the back of his tank. Frank get everyone's attention goes garesh. He said he kept on you. So you're poor dad. It was eager. He looked super eager to get that but man but things are a little bit more easy. Going's say Mexico a couple of dollars. Yeah you I WANNA go snorkeling or scuba diving. Sheriff come on down so it's pretty easy going but Danzig was is that you don't need to have a ton of experience and you can check these things out for yourself off probably good to go with someone who is certified some challenges but it had the statue I forget. Yeah yes it's on the floor on the bottom and then is this. How do you call it like it's just the mounds of fish school of fish forming foaming? This like a tornado looking right formation. Yes and there's the yellow parch or whatever and just a big fish small fish. It's beautiful once I got over it. Oh Oh and then towards the end. My son's tank was almost empty. He needs to go from the beginning till the end it was. It's not as well but the ocean is gorgeous. or She's gorgeous. Water temperature is really warm. Clarity is amazing. There's tons and tons and tons. I don't know if I recommend the experience scuba dive but just do these certified dive year year probably going under a trial thing. It was just too scary for malice. It was for me. But if if Scuba snatcher thing and you'd rather just snorkel tons to see even snorkeling and like I said life I followed you guys out. I was above you. I was looking at stuff. There's tons of fish to see the shallow areas you can go cruising around in turtles that come through there occasionally as well really really really cool place yeah turtles and just the color of the corals and the health the reef and it's it's so worth earth is so Chonkin up absolutely H or k n Ab Yup and you can get from mill or you can also get excursions from the Yucatan peninsula as well. You can probably find it in any of your hotels take you on a bus down to apply to Carmen. Shoot you on the ferry. Boom boom boom boomer. Where you go? It's definitely worth it. If you like snorkeling you love Dolphin encounters or you want a Nice Lazy Day on a protected beach where you're guaranteed to see stuff absolutely absolutely worthwhile place so talking of diving and in color of the ocean and now I do want to talk about those or horse. Yeah can I take fluids and then bring water the whole Yucatan as I said before. It's like a rainforest and here. Is this massive city kind of cut out of the rainforest greenforce so to get to it. You gotta go through the rainforest. It's hot it's tropical. It's you know it can be a bit oppressive. The structures themselves really well preserved beautifully beautifully. Intact you can walk on some of them you can get up close and personal with some but L. Casteel. You cannot walk on it anymore. I'm it is roped off and roped off for good good reason. I guess people and tourists were taking taking advantage of it. But like I said get a tour guide in from any of the major resorts any of the resorts up and down the Yucatan Peninsula easily over there. And take you there or you can rent a car and drive their yourself. We actually did to be dry both times we drove. Oh I think we drove one time in the other time we took a tour with your folks and then the kids and the kids right right right okay. That was a tour. Okay yeah either way. It's easy really really the if not the most famous Oh my goodness popular and you don't go to Geneva smack yourself in the head because it's the right place to go to. It is an amazing amazing place. So talking of this kind the Mayan Ruins what will be the next one Mazzi. If you say this will for me the next ruin would be Koba. Oh really not. Too Long to loom is awesome but remember Koba. It is not as Well preserved as Chichinadze really high. I pyramid and you can walk all over it like auto breath. Oh man who. It is kind of off the beaten path away from kitchen going further into the center of the Yucatan Peninsula. But when you get to the top of the jungle sane. Yeah Oh my mom was amazing. Yeah I if you can do both kitchen needs and Koba check those two out again and really well. Preserved is a beautifully big city. Kobo was this massive pyramid in village areas around just jungles been taking it over so so it's Kinda interesting. That's roped off. I don't think so. It's been a while since we've been there but I don't know if you remember when we drove we drove up parked there and it's just like a little wooden fence and pay an interest. Fini walk through this jungle and boom. There's the wrong in time off the way we can go up the pyramid hit all the major ones exactly exactly so those are cool and then to lose one for me so to loom is. It's another Mayan ruin. It's actually facing the The the Caribbean coastline. The ocean of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula Zillah. And it's known for its beaches and it is pre- pretty well preserved. I will say and it's a very ancient Incheon city. It's very interesting there at that time. Local selling drugs and things in bags and blather stuff and all those you know. Yeah did you say that to loom was actually the port for Koba portfolio. Right there in the Yucatan there. Right at the C.. To your point is well could get you over to cozumel and Cozumel was an island. Just just off the Yucatan. There are two so really important area for the Mayan civilization and it was one of the last cities built an inhabited by by the Mayans between the thirteenth fifteenth centuries and then the Spaniards came in in the as I said the miser kind of crept back into the into into the jungles with the legend. Has it a lot of people felt thought that the minds just died off but realistically they kind of melted back into general population maintaining some some of that culture but as well holding onto the language in in things of that nature so really quite interesting until absolutely gorgeous right there on the the Caribbean coast. They're gorgeous a beach. Areas is quite quite lovely in the garage sales. Take him the ruins not a good shape. INSTAGRAM squirm spot. Yeah Yeah exactly. And how far is it from Cancun to loom is about an hour and forty minutes to give you an idea and it's in the state of have content aroo there there's cozumel proper which is northern Yucatan Container Ruas a status down south there And that's where to loom khanates Koba those major ruins are And just google to loom just the pictures just gorgeous absolutely. Yeah so that's another the place that we highly recommend and you'll spend maybe about an hour down there just bopping around some of the ruins looking at the beach to your point through some shops there you can by local rug or something like that in back in the bus and head back up the peninsula. That's right and so another place that I want to mention is apply their Carmen. Oh they have a good hospital to all this they do. We talked about that but anyway. That's about an hour from Cancun sang-keun and that's also. There are tons of restaurants tons of shops. It's also easy ferry very right to Cosmo yes it is so when you go there you can just easily hop on the ferry and in Take a short trip to 'cause Mel against spend spend the whole day there. It's just a fun town. A lots of restaurant options if.
