Now it's It's the three outcome and that pitching is so good that you eliminate some of those outcomes even more right, so just strikeouts and home runs now. People aren't really walking as much and so you get less baserunners. You get less movement, and when you have no movement in a sport like what's the point just standing around. You're staying around if field Like, Remember being a low leaguer, kid playing T ball and you're playing out in right field And you just standing there doing nothing looking at the dandelions like Like At certain point, you have to get action on the field and action on the field is entertaining and more entertainment would bring more eyeballs more people into the game. Yes, I think it goes back to like you said the three outcomes and teams not wanting to play small ball, but also like Right? It's not small ball it hits. They're not like the batting average now is lower than the strikeout percentage, which is insane. Yes, but also we really want to watch good pitchers pitch like today, right? "Um, I thought that indicated to me that they were getting serious about trying to rebuild their farm system. And When you trade a guy at his apex, and I think you Darvish probably was that his apex last year. Have trouble faulting that it's one of those news, though, guys that I just can't sit here and render a true strong opinion on right now, because everybody they got is a child. They got a bunch of kids and if one of them hits, then you look back on that deal. And you say, Yeah, that was that was good. That makes it I mean, the way I look at it is they signed Yu Darvish to a six year deal. They got out of it after year. Three. Is that right? Yes. Yeah, it figures. You're three. Yeah, if you if you tell me that, uh, I can with a starting pitcher, uh, signed him to a deal that Have to give him six years in order to get him to sign with me, but I couldn't get rid of him after those first three, So I get theoretically the three best years out of them. The three least likely that he's going to suffer injuries and I get four prospects out of it. It's a good outcome. It just tells me that they don't want to win this year and that they, you know, that's not the priority right now. That they are looking ah, as forward to the future as they are in the present. Let me rephrase that. It's not that they don't want to win this year. It's that winning isn't the absolute priority this year. It's interesting, Jeff. Great stuff. I think there's a Team That's probably going to change and look a lot different in next couple of years, and they we know them to be their team that can still compete even with no air Amato coming into the National League Central With that big move by the Cardinals. And their team that still has some questions to answer before we get to opening day and 50 days, So it's gonna be an interesting year. I don't think comes we're gonna be terrible. I think they'll be in the thick of things. Whether it's in the National League Central race or the wild card, But I don't necessarily think it will be the cub that we've seen over the last five years like it'll take I'm adjusting to get used to this new reality of Cubs baseball. So is this a team that Is going to kind of play their moves by ear, and if they come out of the gate, and it's not strong, and they're not competing, and they're kind of having a losing season, then they'll look to deal. Not thing that they might not entertain that with Brian as well, but it seems like hobby would be the one That you would build around, But, yeah, I think if we get to June 1st and the Cubs are in third or fourth place in the division, I think it would make it that much easier for jet hired to pull the Trigger on on some deals and prepare the team for the future. It's getting going The Lindores stuff to the Mets. Do you think the whole indoor thing might get things started to roll a bit more? I'm not sure if it's Lynn door as much as teams waiting on clarity in terms of what the season's gonna look like, and I think the Mets have clearly been And out liar, in part because they have a new owner in Steve Colon. Um, you know, the the Cubs did this to kind of jump start their farm system and he had a gentle lawyer says they're going to be active in free agency, not at the top of the free agent market. But Feeling. You know several holes throughout this roster, so I think just everything's been kind of pushed back here that you know where you said around this time in December. You have the winter meetings and things heating up. I think everything's just pushed back. Weeks, if not months of people. Wait, wait for answers and kind of wait for direction. Where? Whenever that would be, uh, because clearly they're not going All in two in this year, and I think a real telltale sign will be how quickly and how aggressively they reinvest the money that they're saving from training.
