"Okay. There's a roller coaster right there. Yeah good call lee. Why was he saying that. Why did bill were. also that part is what. I'm so confused weird. It's a weird one about young people not worrying no because he says she should. Yeah yeah she should wear mass. We should wear masks and then because it because it's old. But i'm convinced he's saying it bill worrell because we are we're she is a beautiful woman and we are just old men. That's what i actually think he's saying. And then bullard sorta covers zara. That's my that's my. I mean we can get bill rail on the podcast now that he's retired. Maybe he's got some time. He's into an advisory role to houston rockets. But i believe like many people in the world says you're not sick. You're not old. You've got no worries. Take off the mask. That's basically that's essentially what he's saying. But i mean good point by trait about the sound system. I mean bill. Royal sounds a little like me. In that instance where he yeah. What's going on here in the stadium. Piping in the booze that was a really good he was commenting on. Yeah they didn't like the foul call in houston audio. Production jumped rain. They're doing a good job. So he's been at the helm or he was at the helm of play by play for forty years so good one time i saw tribute video to him. Started in eighty doing the rockets game sceptre up in houston so yeah pretty seen on loves the game and hope he enjoys his retirement. Thanks to ahmed patel for sending that one in. But we couldn't end on that one the final say. What is the bulls broadcast team of adam amine and stacey king great deal but it really has nothing to. What's that new combination. Yeah yeah. Because he's taking neil fox job. Yeah adam i mean has this is first season did a great job with stacey king but really has nothing to do with the bulls at all focuses on blazer center yousef merkich all play adam amine. Jd will play. stacey king. nurkic.

"Years another story. I want you to know. Use of norwich has one of the great origin stories in the history of sports because the twenty six year old center for the portland. Trailblazers is from bosnia and herzegovina and got discovered there at the unassuming age of fourteen when a local sports agent picked up the newspaper and read an article about this seven foot tall four hundred pound bosnian police officer who reportedly beat up fourteen people in a single fight that giant police officer. It turned out. Had a son who himself was increasingly giant and that agent started scouting young yousef merkich which is how use of who had never played basketball before got whisked away to train in slovenia and then croatia and then denver ultimately in the nba as a member of the nuggets and now as a blazer in portland but never just homeland has never once been far from his mind especially over this last year. Bosnia and herzegovina has been ravaged by covid nineteen with over two hundred and five thousand cases that have taken nearly ten thousand lives several members of his own family among them last july. For instance while nurtures riding a bus in the nba bubble. He learned that his grandmother had died of a heart attack at age. Sixty seven after spending weeks in a coma after getting the virus and even though use of himself fully vaccinated this year in america. Only about five. Percent of bosnia and herzegovina which has been relying on donations of vaccine supply can say the same but yesterday all ramona shelburne reported that yousef newark ditch has been trying to change all that nurtured embarked on a mission to try and buy enough vaccine supply for his entire country setting out to acquire millions of doses for here in america researching the cost associated making a plan trying to basically take care of everything but then he discovered something exasperated because even though the united states has so much of the global vaccine supply already spoken for with many doses. Going unused right. Now thanks to be. Many americans who've expressed zero to negative interest in using them. Those doses cannot be legally sold not yet not with so much of america still unvaccinated voluntarily and not even with time. Ticking away involuntarily for so many of nurses people back home. All these countries are suffering nurkic said and the united states. Obviously number one in the world has the vaccines and people don't want to get vaccinated. I just feel like humanity has kind of failed all of which all those words make our mission here in america exasperatingly obvious because all we need to do is stop taking this vaccine for granted. Because all we're being asked to do is save ourselves. Pablo torre and this has been espn. Dick i'll talk to you tomorrow..

"Those two guys will combine to make seventy point two million next year and then each of them is under contract for next season two more after that and then lowered has a player option for the year after that. So if you want to add it up and we can get into an interesting kind of interesting question here. But overall the blazers have including the dead money to injure. Nicholson if we say that. Derek jones junior option. They have about one hundred and fifteen million on their books that em- that is relying on the idea that yousef merkich that they pick up his full guaranteed contract which i think they should twelve lena's totally reasonable for city as for four million guaranteed guaranteed. That would be not yeah neck. Just been agitating for an extension. Obviously sure but so then. So roughly. if you're at one fifteen with where the where. The cabinet attacks are going to be this coming season. That means the blazers are twenty one million below the tax line and that is twenty one million below the tax line with potentially eight players on their books. So even just filling out the roster. That's gonna take a lot of that. Twenty million and what. That means is norman powell assuming they retain him which you trade for a player who has a player option. Who's going to likely opt out. Full bird rights. You can do that. Retaining norm powell presumably puts the blazers into the tax. The other talk that he is going to get paid that he's going to get twenty million a year. I'm it's interesting. Because i don't see that offer coming from another team although there probably probably one of the things that we may be missing in this analysis is that the spurs and the knicks are going to end up spending their money on somebody. Yeah and we'll and also the history of players like you could even bring up something like rodney hood who was a blizzard and it surprised us. How much money he got that. There is an maybe there was just an understanding. When norman powell went to the trailblazers in the trade for junior they had an understanding of what kind of money he was going to be looking for and that maybe they're kind of there already is a line there and part of why the blazers were so enthusiastic about getting powell was because they knew they could retain him and in a way that when you think of it as tocado as like that. He's oh now. He's an unrestricted frisian. He can get whatever he wants. That's not always the way these things work. No perhaps not but i mean it seems impossible that he's gonna come back for anything less than like fifteen million agree starting salary. And so yeah as you said that basically is putting you in the tax even if you fill out the rest with minimum. So there's really now if they were allow powell leap. Now i guess the other thing we gotta say too is. We're assuming that. Derek jones junior is going to opt into his nine point. Seven million dollar player option for next year ad. I think we could very easily considering now. Maybe chauncey billups will say. Hey kinda like dirk jones. Yeah i want to give him more of a shot An and i think maybe something that could be considered. Obviously terry stotts lost confidence in him once they got polly basically wasn't playing at all so maybe they will try to rehab him and happen to be a part of their group or they will try to move on from dirt jones junior instead. Maybe they feel as though your little can step into that spot. But yeah as you mentioned. The assuming that jones ops in your pencil in at least fifteen million powell and filling out the roster. Yeah i mean that's getting you to five million of the tax may be even more than that and so more likely than not they are looking at the Five million dollar mid level for taxpayers. Actually yeah five point nine million. That's actually kind of fun. It's five point nine. Nine point five for the to the two middle levels. That's i'm remembering it. And it. And i mean this can be kind of a points talk about some of the other blazers free agents. They have early bird rights. Mellow they have enough berg rights to retain an scanner if they want to they also theoretically with that collins whether they make him a qualifying offer or not they will have sufficient bird rights to retain collins and theoretically if they did that on. Lower money deal now that he got injured again. Then you could theoretically do a bigger deal after that. If he proves that he's healthy and then they have non bird rights on. I believe on giles. And hollis jefferson so like there are ways that they can retain this group and have a reasonably deep team and a lot of those guys aren't going to be super expensive. But is that necessarily what you wanna do. Or as you and i would probably. I would definitely argue. There are some holes that the blazers had i having more athleticism which is why it was so crazy for junior having another option who could handle the ball. You know somebody who you know. It's probably going to be a minimum guy but somebody like home. That's how and so running it back for me with them. Would be pretty uninspiring. Well let's say they bring paul back. Then they got all their starters there. Yes you got simon's as your backup combo guard. Cj lb is under contract. Yeah i think they like him there. I don't i don't know that. I want to count on him in rotation role for next year there. They do not have their first round. Pick that is going to convey to the houston rockets number. Twenty three overall. And so now you basically need. It'd be nice to have one more bench guard as a fourth guard and then they have no backup big under contract right now that concert after breaking his ankle. You're not gonna count on him. Maybe maybe they'll bring him back on like a minimum or something like that just so we can continue to rehab in their building or perhaps maybe even That ship assailed cancer. Obviously neil o'shea loves him. We'll see whether chauncey billups. It is interesting to me. The biggest thing that absolutely killed them particularly in the denver series. Was that their bench..

"Finish at your at your ram all my mom. Damn to so many weapons. When they're on it feels like you know where. Where are they coming from malone had talked about you know. Hey i gotta find five guys that really want to be out there. The trick will be finding those five guys. Are we gonna see a change in the starting lineup. Tomorrow night I think maybe it could be a possibility. You know the problem right now. Is i think the first the first whatever what everybody says to me is how. Why wouldn't you start monte morris and Okay if you wanted to start monte morris right now he's two for sixteen shooting and So boy i mean that's tough. That's tough You know i. He's not giving anything right now. That composite isn't giving you right now and so out of change that is warranted at this point that changed that is I dunno i you know. I don't know. I guess if they could. I mean if will barton was gonna play was going to be cleared to play normal minutes. Maybe you could put him in the starting lineup of because the nuggets starters just not You know outside of joker have not really sick. The bill Here in the series and the first two games so far But he's not i. I wouldn't anticipate that he could. Do you know that he's going to be clear to play normal minutes. So you wanna use him in the you know the most impactful way possible So i don't know what you would do. I mean maybe maybe put tbilisi on the court. Give yourself a little extra rim protection. So now you can cheat out to the three a little bit more I think that might be thing that i would look for maybe happenings but if he plays that probably means one one of the two of us. Excuse me of jamaica. Green and paul millsap aren't seeing the court quite quite as much and so. I don't know if my below wants to do that. So i mean it's just you know i when i when i look back at these first two games i the the thing that stands out most is second house. You have to be better. They're falling apart in the third quarter and then it snowballs in the fourth quarter of the game's over And then part to how do you get shots to be made on a regular basis. Can you get austin rivers to take more than five shots in a game Can you get aaron. Gordon moore touches on the block words. Just kinda seems that. He owns them whoever's guarding him on on the block and in the paint can you. Can you coax More scoring from monte morris. And how do you get him back on track and maybe just being home. It's gonna help so i. It's i think there are a number of things number of questions to the answered But and maybe home can solve some of it by itself. Yeah i mean again. you're right. there's so many big questions surrounding surrounding this lineup. and what. they're going to try to do to slow this thing down on will barton played. Sixty minutes was on the minute restriction. I mean does that lift to me. We see more. It's the playoffs so it does have a different feeling season. Do you see anything changing there as far as soon as tomorrow as far as the minutes. Go hey boy. If we're if they're following a similar pattern to what they've done with players during the regular season. I would think so. I wouldn't think it would be more than twenty twenty one twenty two minutes. He played sixteen yesterday. Which says to me that the minute restriction was probably fifteen And so do you. And he looks. Great actually was really surprised. At how How how explosive she looked at how springy he looked in after being gone for so long so You know maybe. They're encouraged by that and if he has had no setbacks today maybe that's something that they can they can rise that minute raised that minute restriction. A little bit. I mean you know monte morris would find when he came back to and he was mean he played one game. They didn't play it all the next game. This is at the toward the end of the regular season and then played She's what twenty twenty five minutes and then the last two. So i mean they are real cautious with these Especially the soft tissue. These hamstring type injuries. And so i don't know that he'd be clear to do much more than that but he certainly did. Look good And after the game that the comment that really stood out to me was he said listen. I know the risks. You know so Sounds like to me. He wants to get back to his regular minutes. He understands what that might mean in terms of reinjuring himself but Again that The nuggets training staff will be cautious with that. And i don't know that he'd be cleared for much more than twenty twenty minutes twenty minutes in tomorrow game. One forty chris. We'll talk about the mvp nicole. Yokich and the andrea aiden. I mean he's a very talented young player. And i think man he's only going to get really good in the next couple of years but i wouldn't say he's he's not shutting down. Joker joker still putting up. You know he's still get into his twenty four points Eas easy bothering him a little bit and if so what does joker need to do does he need to make any kind of adjustment to his game tomorrow. Night african question because you're right. I mean at first glance line is fine twenty four. It's a bunch of lear rebounds. It's almost six assists as well and And it's nine of seventeen shooting. So i mean he's over fifty percents from the field as well so i mean it's at first glance. It looks pretty much fun and It's just not thirty plus points. And that's where i think you know it's you know there's a couple of forces at work. He didn't play in the fourth quarter at all but but You know i think yonder aden's holding his own i. I thought he would have stretches against get because you know the one type of player That has been able to hold their own against the coca season. Are these kind of big burly. Strong and john drake agent Case very athletic players and so remember yousef merkich when he wasn't busy selling out with having some good success in gardening nicole yokich and now the same is happening with deondraye eight and and so it it it really does for phoenix is you. Don't have to commit to flares to him every single possession. Because when you do that now he's picking apart the past and now you gotta worry about shooters everywhere else. And that's really where the nuggets offense get you. But they know they can can double them down once every three or four possessions and that's okay it all and deondraye eight and will hold his own the rest of the way so i just think it's just you know i don't know how much more nicola they can get. You can get i mean. He took seventeen shops. But you can trump that up to twenty twenty five but if you're doing that then who else is shooting and are you standing around around him. you know those those issues come back into play as well so you know i i i think ultimately the players are gonna have to make shots around the coach that will ease some of the pressure on him because it will keep phoenix defense. A little bit more honest and once it has to stay more honest now. Nicola can go to work in a real way. That's gonna get him thirty plus points in a game but if that if nobody's gonna make shots around him and brady you guys were not even standing anywhere near the nuggets shooters on some on some of those a attempts if they are not scared to do that all they wanna do is stand about four people around the yokich all day. Yeah he's gonna get some numbers but know that his impact is going to be greatly reduced adjustments that need to be made and we'll see if denver can do it. It's why i love the playoffs games. Wanted to look completely different games. Three and four. Hopefully the nuggets can do that. Chris survival mode tomorrow night to the nuggets survived. They get one tomorrow night on on a friday. Yeah i think that suiting will come through. And guys like torrey. Craig won't make shopping denver You know. I think those things will Will happen. And i think it'll be a four game. I think it'll be right on down to the wire. But i think they'll be able to pull pull that out. You know you're right you're right about i. Two seconds two games and we. There's no better example than that The colorado avalanche rain the colorado avalanche go in the first two seven one and then to one. And then you go to las vegas and all of a sudden the series flips. So i mean these things can happen even if it looks like you don't belong in the same on the same ice on the same court as the other team and so yeah. I think the nuggets will come back. I think they'll have a good plan. I think shots be made in a way that they were not yesterday on the. I think they'll pull one out and start to feel good about themselves now in game four..

"And where he lands. Yeah me too i It's it's really odd especially to given o.'neil his presser happens After terry sauce gets fired. I think there was definitely like i mean like you mentioned we. We kind of saw this coming. I think it was jason quip. You put out that article a couple months prior that had been like if they if this team loses in the first round terry sausage probably gone and it really felt like that had been laid throughout the year as as they as they struggle before they had that run towards the end of the year to get back into a higher seed In just talking about the defense. Though i one of the things that i've been trying wondering i had to fight back on a because i'm i'm definitely a more player century person But how much of this comes back on dame because it's a it's really difficult because dame does so much for the offense. I loved him as a person But the defense is legitimately like disaster Like i mean what people painted trae young as larry. I should say trae unpaid himself as that's that's we're dame's at now And i think that really showed through in the playoffs. Do i think what amplify the problems with damian. Lillard on defense is gonna lillard has made strides. I think where the real problem comes. And i'm not trying to excuse damian lillard of all of this because there are a lot of issues there but the problem is you have. Cj mccollum who is equally if not a worst defender than damian lillard. And when you're putting both those guys in the back court it's impossible the high of let alone one of them. So everything is magnified. That said in the postseason. I think lillard is really hard for him to balance what they're asking him to do on the offensive end and then come back down on defense and i think that does lead frustration. I mean i think we've seen it boil over with robert covington a little bit here and more specifically and more recently yousef merkich because use of negative the guy who stuck on the back end trying to cover up you know all these holes i mean. He's basically like lucy on the conveyor belt. Just jam concerts in his mouth. It's not it's not great. i. I don't know how much you can adjust scheme wise. I think the blazers had every intention to adjust their scheme this year. When they brought in. Jim boylan be for the start of the season and they tried to blow out this more aggressive defensive approach where you're coming over the top of screens and trying to at you know help. The smaller guards out that went up in flames. No if that's something they're going to try to return to or what. The vision is for the next coach Certainly it's going to be probably object one or subject to the discussion in the offseason interviews and this coaching selection process. Yeah yeah definitely. I think that's such a point and so it's it's interesting because especially in watching this team. I watched a lot more than down the stretch. I'd say i. I caught probably ten or fifteen games to start the year but i caught most of my games after the trade deadline. Because i was really fascinated happened. With norman powell. I've been pleasantly surprised with how that traders work. 'cause norman looked great and i think gary trent really struggled in toronto. But that again. Toronto is like just. That's tough ways to to go this year but The defense was good with the stars. Like the defense was legitimately fine with the stars even above average..

"What you need to know is brought to you by morongo played safe. Good times loud out. What do you have all right so a few weeks ago. I told you guys that vanessa. Bryant was not re upping her contract with nike. Well we got a very long message from vanessa on her iggy that stated that she worked really hard on a shoe that was for her daughter digi but she was really surprised because she doesn't have a pair of the shoe but someone was bragging about having the shoe she posted if someone can share how they have these shoes in their possession. That would be great. Because my daughter's an i don't have any of deejays. Mambas eat the shoes. How can nike make this right. If they can even make this right alabama go to you first. How do they make this right. I mean besides issuing a public apology right now. Maybe establishing something in the family's name But i mean if the feelings is just about how can someone else how these shoes before us. There's nothing can ever do to make that right now it's a genie's out of the bottle the can do now is try to do some sort of emotional reparations. With that they were never supposed to come into fruition because she never approved it it was something she designed and because they didn't read the contract i mean i know. Prototypes get made a prototype. You know but they. I feel like she should have that prototype. No no doubt no doubt but maybe he was like you know everything was shut down. They kept them all. I can storage and someone just decided you know like we. When i worked at the magazine. Espn the magazine. We have tons of stuff that we never actually made it to print that people would just grab of these closets that we have you know like props and things like that. And i would at the radio station we do the same thing right with the cutouts and stuff so maybe it was kind of like that. Someone saw him just like new. They weren't ever going to be using just like madison. Sweet if i could jump in real quick big sneaker head and i been paying attention to this and i know what's going on in somewhat of sense So basically long story short. She designed shoes to be like a memorial. Like laura said to g g and kobe and it was supposed to have her number and it was the inside was supposed to have butterflies and rainbows and stuff like it was a shoe dedicated to digi. And what happened was they basically took vanessa's design. And then koby fight it. Got rid of anything relating to g g. They put kobe instead of putting. Gd number on it. They did all this stuff to make it a kobe shoe until off like the little nuances. That were that made it a gee-gee show and then they produced it and they mass produced it because the person who got the shoe and shared the picture of it it was somebody who got it from a tier zero retailer which means nike definitely meant to sell these shoes planning on selling them very soon. Be sure there is no. I don't think that's why. I think that there is a resolution to this moon. I mean lower resolutions. Something you should not have do not damage man You know that's that is that is stuff that sets up for a lawsuit. I don't know any of the contractual sides of things but it just all sounds very dirty the way laura just described or the way lindsay just describe it all. Sounds very dirty super shady super. Yep that is what you need to know. Brought to you by morongo. Play it safe. Good times i eight seven seven seventeen. Espn if you want to have aboard. Eight seven seven seven seven. Three seven seven six. So let me ask you this question because dame lillard is out there on his instagram quote. Nipsy russell talking about preparation meeting opportunity. And when will that happen. And you know look i think when dame post something like that on his instagram. That gets everybody on high alert because dame has been very outspoken in the past about. I'm going to be one team guy. He's been critical of durant right. He's been critical of people in the past. And i think that. I've always said this because durant was critical of lebron at one point. If you recall correctly. I always say i try to live my life before i make a proclamation. About someone's decision right. I try to empathize. I try to put myself in their position. And say what would it feel like to be person x. Enduring this situation. And i try my best to do that. Because it's easy to just fire off takes right and not not know what it feels like to feel that frustrated whatever but all the stuff eventually comes to roost. You know what. I'm saying like where you are now. Damian lillard being the guy who has criticized people in the past like kevin durant was that guy previously and now you are tweeting. These things post these things on instagram. And let's face it. We both or all of us know that he knows when he posts that that there's going to be a reaction to this. Of course there is a civil war happening and the old guard losing it and this is a civil war. The old heads and people who still subscribe to the philosophy that the nba should happen the way that it did in the ninety s. Where you you stay with one team win or lose and prove that you're a man and that your man and that you leave this t to a championship and that is your legacy right. That's that's the big reason. Why michael jordan. Six zero in the finals has always held up is because he didn't have the pound sproul he'd have to move around blah blah blah. That's one philosophy. The new philosophy that curt flood went to the supreme court to fight for our abilities to have free agency. Why aren't we using it. Why are we subscribing to the same set of ideology that curt flood spent his life fighting in lost his career over so that we had this freedom. Why are we still subscribing to the mentality that he was fighting. Why aren't we became more empowered. We all saw scottie. Pippin sitting there on the documentary talking about how he had begged for his money winning chips and begging for money. Yep and now fast forward. The bron james start helped to found the or put the foundation down for his own agency and he's getting paid. Yep big about that. In the heyday of what are on. Hold onto scottie. Pippen's begging for money and the new current. Nba tristan thompsons getting his money. Because branca's boy right just signed with clutch right now speaking of damian lillard yousef merkich c. c. So there's a civil war that's happening and there's going to be a victor and i do not believe it's going to be the old guard damian. Lillard was huge as an old guard. Guy i maybe. After he dropped fifty six and saw his team still lost comfortably. He looked around like.

"First pitch so we'll start with pre game coverage at one thirty today so we'll send it out to the fellas and we'll see if the rockies i mean yesterday was much better. There's gotta be a. They're like bud black. Doesn't want to acknowledge it. There's a there's a coors field hangover man. I mean there absolutely is so Because they calmed down yesterday kind of but it was like they just. I don't know it. It is what it is i. I don't know they're on pace to win. Like fifty six games. I don't know if that means anything anybody. But that's the way i read this morning. I advanced text line nine seven four seven eight thirteen one the portland trail blazers denver nuggets. First round. Coming up saturday night kovacs. She stayed up late man. Eight thirty one boy going to late one. It's going to be worth it you know. I'll be there yousef merkich. Carmelo anthony will barton. Crossover guys and mike malone was talking about the last memory when they play the playoffs at least he said hey harrison win re tweeted this for the guys that were here. I think we all have the memory of them celebrating on our home court after the game. Seven win. i'm sure that still doesn't sit well with the guys that were on that team on then yousef nurkic suit. You know he's playing waving bye-bye enjoy your summer to the nuggets. I mean he. He doesn't like the nuggets organization. I think he's cool joker but he doesn't really like the way he was treated. I think deep down. I think he thought he could coexist with with the joker there. Maybe today they could. But i still have a hard time seeing it but he got to nuggets one nugget. Great perhaps the top three nugget of all time yousef was supposed to be nicola yokich essentially he was supposed to be the guy but Both those guys you know they want to beat the nuggets tech shots threads coming in our gets to the hoop and lays it in or they are really high on him. But he jumps throughout route of gordon and at it'll be rich with amber say by along good memories there i mean they had some big moment circular marlow seriously when yousef it started with denver. He's just this monster of jokers a big guy too but networks a monster like his dad's like came to a couple of games. He's a. he's a police a retired police officer i. He's gigan-. I don't even high sat in the stadium. Harry sat in those seats. So when when use of started for denver. You know you're thinking this guy could maybe he's going to be the big deal here that the nuggets are really going to get this team back on track and it was really cool to talk to mean listen to. He had a good attitude. But you wonder wh when is he gonna be ready when he's going to take that next step. Well he started to take those strides. I mean he was taken in the first round. He was a first round. Pick sixteenth the bowls. That was the bulls took him but it was the nuggets pick. It's one of those things right So he's taken in the first round and you're thinking this guy is going to be the next big thing for for for denver. Well joker i mean man. Nurkic was a first round pick jokers pick. He was in second round. The selection was announced during a taco bell. Commercial if you're watching espn or mba tv. Yeah the draft and you know how you have those. What are those little the bars below the screen. Now that you have on news news programs and sports programs the never stops the little bar at the bottom. So it's constant rolling by and then it was like the pic is in did whatever they nba's music and it was a taco bell commercial and said that never nuggets have selected nicole. Yokich so i mean already that nurse the guy. He's the one we're investing in Nicoli ohka chua's spe. He's tall he might be able to shoot a little bit. We'll see we'll see what we got him. I talked to ryan bow and one of the assistant coaches for the nuggets right and former denver nuggets. He he's like. Did you guys really expect this. Did you really think that joker obviously they didn't they would've taken before so you take shot there so here we go now. Nurse has taken over. He's going to start at center. he's going to be the big man he's doing great And then we throw in nicole yokich his first year to see what he's got two thousand and fifteen was that first year for him and he played he played in a lot of games. He averaged ten points and then they started to look at it and said aren't we got so very next season they tried to do. They tried to do the you know. Joker start at power forward use star center and to see if they can coexist didn't work didn't work and then shortly after that malone looks at the situation and says we're gonna bench him our some games nurk hardly played at all. It just didn't work didn't make any sense in then. Nurk looked disinterested in what was going on and ultimately wanted out. Wanted to go somewhere else. And i think the nuggets were ready for that. They peeled back yousef nurkic that cleared the stage. Hundred percent cleared the stage for nicole yokich. Who made the right decision. I mean denver's fared pretty well and again. I don't think that nurk is a big time deal like a big time trade or whatever. He wasn't a big time nugget. I think the potential was there but the nuggets fair pretty well on those kind of guys guys remember emmanuel moody very similar story. Nuggets drafted emmanuel. I seventh round the very next year. They drafted jamal. Murray murray was supposed to be a two guard but it just wasn't quite working and moody. I loved his attitude. I liked a lot of things about him but tyra forgotten nugget. He was good passer. Never really got shots down. You drive to the who who've never really got the outside shots down and again another prospect. The denver nuggets chose either jamal murray or manual moody while they chose right again. Coach averaged twenty six points. Twenty six point four points this season. He did average ten point. Eight rebounds per game three average. The double double. He almost averaged the assists eight point three assists per game in his career in just five six years now. He's averaged in his career. Eighteen and a half points per game six assists per game and ten rebounds per game. They're numbers use of norwich has averaged in his career. Eleven points per game. Nine rebounds per game three assists per game the type of player. There's there's i mean there's no comparison at all so that's one aspect of this. We got texture earlier from pete talking about vilify. Dan's asked who one triple tubes top tax tuesday. You did pillow fight. Dan you did you got to. You need to win one more. He got bring it next week. Pizzas matchup the guards one in three spots against portland and honestly look at expectations. Getting out of the first round guard plays rules in the playoffs. Yet i mean if you're said yesterday be careful with those expectations. I'm i'm like. I'm i expected to win this thing. But i'm not gonna absolutely be flabbergasted. Could work if if we come out of this thing and somehow portland pulls it off. It's just portland's a good team. They were catching fire at the right time to. They have the pieces. And i'm.

"He's willing to accept a really reserve role For this team this year harrison win joining us. Dnv are nuggets and looking around harrison. Poll question today. is the nuggets. Do enough to now become the favourite. Not even favor. What do you think about that. Question based on yesterday are the nuggets the favourite or yet to be determined. I wouldn't slot them in at the favourite quite yet because there's still going to be an adjustment period. That's gotta take place I wrote this today on the. Dnb are dot com but the offensive systems and really just the system. In general that gordon played in orlando compared to the one he's playing in denver is totally night and day orlando was such like a Elementary offensive system. And he's coming to denver with a playmaker like nicole. Yoka your point. Guard and jamal murray. He's never played with this type of albacore. There's gonna be an adjustment. So look if if everything clicks right away and you know. They've got like two months here to make sure everything clicks. Yeah maybe entering the playoffs. They could be a favorite. But i think we gotta see how everything kind of meshes that everybody comes together. I last one for you. Man going back to gary harris. Where where where is he in the grand scheme of things. When you look back at great nuggets i certainly not in the upper echelon the alex english that came in and tumble the mellow side of it. But is he like a top twenty. I mean where. where do you put gary harris. I mean he's had a really good career with denver But where does he sit in your mind. Yeah i mean it's tough to like put a number on him. But i mean he's just a guy who went through it all denver. He got here had a terrible rookie season under brian. Shaw and then michael malone came in day one and said you're my starting shooting guard and stuck with them ever since and gary really rewarded him for that trust so he has been absolutely integral and setting the culture I i always say like gary harris. He's such a veteran. He's been through like three. Mba lifetimes and he's only twenty five years old. He's he went through one year. Brian shaw went through a couple of bad nuggets. Teams then finally was on a couple of really really good nuggets teams But he's the guy. I think who any young rebuilding team would want around just because he's a professional ondeo basis and it's so tough to because who knows harrison. What would have happened if he could have stayed healthy but it seemed like to two years ago or so he gets an injury and it really really rocked him and i just don't feel he was ever able to get right back on track but you're right. He has weathered all of the storms. All the transitions. i mean. emmanuel moody was his point guard at one point and brian shut down. And then you make that transition to malone and you're waiting to see and you know you're wondering if it is it going to be yousef merkich the big time nugget there so harris has always kind of been the guy that's.
