Senate Democrats move immediately to "Plan B" on minimum wage

"Which is preparing to vote on President Biden's nearly $2 trillion covert relief package. The latest guidance shows were expecting a vote at 2 A.m. or so w T. O P. Capitol Hill correspondent Mitchell Miller joined our Sean and Hillary earlier to talk about the enormous bill that includes a $15 an hour minimum wage hike. But that's in trouble in the Senate tricky, But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to keep the increase to $15 an hour in the legislation, even though it can't be in the Senate bill. Because of our ruling by the Senate parliamentarian that's related to budget reconciliation, tried to say all that fast anyway. Pelosi is appeasing the most liberal wing of her caucus. By doing this, if, as expected, the House bill passes, the minimum wage element will not be included in the Senate measure. Democratic leaders in the senator now trying to cobble together an alternative. One of those things that's being talked about is that companies would essentially get taxed if they failed to work toward a higher minimum wage, But that's a big uphill climb. I'm and it's unclear if it would have enough support from all 50 Democrats. Hey, Mitch, what else is in this

FDA advisers recommend J&J vaccine for emergency authorization

"Amid this new warning from President Biden. There's been another significant step forward for the nation's covert effort. An FDA advisory committee endorsing Johnson and Johnson's covert shot and, according to multiple reports of CDC expects the FDA to grant emergency use authorization tomorrow. CNN Health editor Maggie Fox joining our own Sean Anderson and Hilary Howard earlier to talk about This endorsement was made said that it was a pretty easy decision for them. They said that the data clearly showed that this vaccine is not only effective in preventing severe Corona virus infections, but that it's also a very safe vaccine. So this committee, these advisers to the FDA voted unanimously to recommend that the FDA gives emergency use authorization to the vaccine. Well, the acting commissioner of the FDA, Dr Janet Woodcock, has issued a statement saying that she plans to do that very quickly. Assuming this all happens as it's supposed to what's the timetable here for getting doses made and then distributing them without this is going to be fast doses are already made. As you previously reported there, there's four million doses ready to go. What happens now is what will get an authorization from the FDA. And they say they'll do that so we can expect that probably tomorrow. So Andy slave it who's chief advisor to the White House on these matters, says he expects the FDA to do that tomorrow Saturday. Then it's up to the CDC to decide what people should actually get This authorized vaccine. So the CDC s advisers see Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices will be meeting on Sunday, and they'll vote whether Americans should get the vaccine. They may also have some advice about who should get this particular vaccine. CDC director will then say OK, go and the U. S. Is ready to roll with ease, The White House says immediately, which means probably Monday. Maggie quickly before we go. Can we get enough vaccine quickly enough to blunt the rising variants? That is the race? That's what everybody's worried about These variants. Some of them appear to be more contagious and really the best way to get out in front of that is to get as many people vaccinated as fast as possible. Johnson. Vaccines boost that a little bit, but they don't have a whole lot of vaccines ready to go until the end of

"Glazed windows, then you're ahead of the game, it's the weakest link that windows got to be good for as long as it can be and the passive house style windows are guaranteed a lot longer than your average everyday window. The insulation in your wall doesn't move. It's there forever the money that you spend on the exterior insulation and the air tightness of your house those two things together. Could equal the reduction in the cost of the mechanical system for Your House. If you do it properly, you're just changing where you're spending your money so that the long term costs of heating and cooling her house actually are reduced and so does this passive active distinction applied ventilation passive ventilation would be considered natural ventilation. We can't control everything in a building, but at the same time, especially in a tower like I stated before but if you're in a single family dwelling and You have some control over the opening and closing of the windows. During the year, you can create natural ventilation that makes sense. Does this make sense in the middle of the winter not necessarily so mechanical ventilation system helps you through the times of the year or the whole year depending on how you live to create that ventilation in the house. You know if I'm building a house customhouse for somebody and I'm trying to use natural ventilation as a portion of the whole design. There's two basic concepts of how it works. You need a change in height. So if there's an opening that sees I'm GONNA put quotations around sees another opening on a different floor. So a split level, a skylight and a front door that can create a ventilation that starts to happen, and then in a single room, one of the things that's easiest to do is to have openings or windows. On, two sides of one room so that there's a place for the air to come in and a place for the air to go out there's no control over which direction it is because we can't control the weather or the buildings were the trees around your dwelling. But if you have those two places where it can come in and come out, you can create more ventilation in building We're looking at ventilation in this episode because cove it of course, has made us a lot more conscious about indoor air flow and a lot of us can't return to our workplaces because of these sealed in office buildings. So can you give me a bit of a? Lesson or maybe an engineering lesson. How did we end up relying so much on artificial ventilation in these buildings so engineered comes into the same idea when we think about water and buildings, we know water's going to come in. We have weather we have to have ways of controlling it. There's no way we're going to control all of it. So we do bunch of things to create it so that we have some control over where these things go. And I think when you have buildings like hospitals and buildings where there's assembly occupancy so lots of people in one space. These mechanical systems have to function or the spaces are too hot too dry uncomfortable to be in for breeding purposes because you know you're smelling and. Breathing in the stale air from other places. You're listening to spark from your friends at CBC radio. Nor young today we're talking about the movement of air indoors and what we can do to make our buildings healthier right now, I'm speaking with Toronto.

"Are. Kind of going about our days lackadaisically which. Many of us doing these days except for you parents who are sending your kids back to school I'm sure you're days aren't so lackadaisical but oftentimes we get caught in the Rut or were overlooking our needs are definitely you parents and can get lost in the day to day life that we all have, which is why I want to up our game on. Sick recovery skills we can all benefit from going over these and paying closer attention to what may be getting lost in our day to day rituals or programs of recovery. Or calendars schedules all that kind of good stuff and remember recovery is for all of us. When I first started my journey using the twelve steps of a I would read them to other people including my family and folks are like well I. Think we all could kind of benefit from taking these assessments of ourselves becoming more aware of things in our lives and I couldn't agree more. Remember that you can apply recovery to anything in your life. If you're feeling low, you can recover from that. If you're feeling stressed, you can recover from that. Recovery is a return to a more normalized state. Of Health of mind of body whatever you need it to me. So try and listen with a close ear today. If you don't have a substance use problem think in terms of your anxiety or your depression or your. Compulsions to do things for other people whatever is causing you problems in your life. You may be able to apply some of these rules or principles to just change the language up a little bit because we are going to be specifically talking about addiction. Alright then rule number one, create a new life where it is easier not to use or create a life where it is easier not to behave the same way. No one recovers from anything by simply stopping something you recover by creating new things in your life new things which make it easier to live in the direction or without something that you'd been doing or using before if you don't create something new than all the factors that brought you to your addiction, for instance, will eventually catch up with you. They might even be right in your face all the time and who can do that who can. Perform and create in a new way who can learn new things when they're constantly being reminded or forced to do things in the old way, you don't have to change everything, but there are a few unhealthy behaviors or negative thinking patterns have been getting you in trouble and they will continue to get you in trouble. Until you find a different way, the more you try to hold onto your old way the less well, he will do in recovery. Here are some common things that most of us have to change in recovery avoiding high risk situations. This comes down to people, places and things people who used to. Use with or people who encouraged you to use our common triggers for any type of relapse places where you used or places where you went to get drugs or alcohol are also common triggers and then things that you used with such as paraphernalia, our power food triggers, and so often we don't think about this. If we're thinking about alcohol the glass you drink out of the friends you drink with you say I drink with all my friends well, maybe you best to figure out who your friends with and why you're friends with them. The key here is to avoid your heaviest drinking friends your favorite place. To drink whether it be a bar ear own living room and having alcohol accessible in these places. So of course, many of us can't move out of our own house, but we can change things up a bit. You can sit in a different place you can remove the alcohol from Your House. I know many of you often say, well, my spouse shrinks and I don't want to inhibit their behavior sometimes you have to at least in the beginning avoiding people who you used with and not driving by your dealers neighborhood including your liquor store neighborhood or heading down that aisle at the grocery store will help you. And then sometimes we have to remove the class warfare that we use from the kitchen for a while or permanently. Of course, you can't avoid as I said, all these high risk situations. But if you're aware of them, you won't get caught off guard and you will have a chance to prepare yourself which any good recovery has good relapse prevention. Try to really focus in an anticipate. The greater you are aware of all of these triggers that you have for us returning to use the better chance you have at succeeding in this thing called recovery, and for those of you who have some time in recovery, don't let this slide you might little friends start to seep back into your life. You might allow uncle Joe to drink more around you or go to those family vacations less prepared. And that's what tends to get.

I feel very much I feel more alone than I did before the nine twelve project and we felt pretty alone if you remember. But now with everything that's going on, and it's happening and it's so radicalized. I. Don't see anybody leading I. Don't see anybody standing up and. That's a little terrifying in looking at the options that we have in front of us. There are only a few options that will work at this point, and we're GONNA go those. I'm going to show you of some things that we I feel we must do and and along the way fill you with great hope. I, think there is great great hope when we remember who we are when we remember where we came from and what we accomplish when we put our minds to it, and we stand together, so that's happening on the second of July. It is going to be on. My Youtube. Page is going to be on my facebook page assuming that we're still on their, allow this to happen, but most importantly it's happening at blaze TV and I would love you to subscribe to be a part of the family here what we're doing it blaze TV and your subscription helps us pay for the research like we're doing for tomorrow night. Show tomorrow night at nine PM. My program is going to be exposing the finances of black lives matter. This is a no go zone for the media. Nobody is asking the question. Every time you ask the question, you're deemed a racist, which is a sign. We must be close to something well. That's what we thought about three weeks ago and we've done three weeks of research now and Oh. Yeah, we're close to something, you'll yeah. Yeah, there's a reason they call you racist. If you talk about their finances, so we just want to help black lives matter because we know they're trusted organization but. If if this kind of stuff really gets out in the population I, don't know if they'll be so trusted anymore and Gosh. I know the leadership of black lives matter just probably doesn't know of outwear all that money is coming from and where all that money is going. So as a service to them. You can.

"And it it ups the the anger or the frustration that they feel it so it comes out more strongly. You're probably getting angry and yelling because you take bad behavior as a sign that you're a bad mom and often. There are a lot of feelings that go into yelling when we respond to our kids that way so the most important thing is you have to work on your yelling and one of the best ways to do. This is to not take your three year olds behavior personally. He's a stubborn kid He sounds like a volatile kid. And this isn't necessarily because of something that you're doing secondly I really would try to get away from the spanking because when you have a child who hits and screams and his yelling spankings just an escalate things what I would encourage you to do. Is the minute he starts to yell and scream or get out of control over to him you grab him and you hug him tightly and you take him to his room and you sit with him holding him sort of in a bear hug and till he quiets down you know he responds to You being serious about getting him under control so you need to work on that so in other words you you grab him you hold him very tightly you take him to. As Roma you sit in his bed and you hold him until he stops every single time he starts hitting an acting terrible. Do this over and over incurred your husband to do it and I promise it will help. Get His anger and yelling and hitting under control. Next question is from Rosie. She says I have two teams fifteen year old boy and a thirteen year old girl. I'm having major issues with my son. He does not follow rules and he has not doing well in school. He's disrespectful to all of us at home. My husband doesn't like to discipline him at all and won't allow me to do so either. Instead he pretty much rewards his bad behavior he never takes away his phone or online gaming he lets them watch. Tv All day long until late at night. And he doesn't make him do schoolwork he allows him to be out with friends or my son will just go out. Even if we don't allow it. I left our home about two weeks ago because of disrespect and the lack of unity and respect between my husband and I. I'm considering a divorce. I believe I can help my son much better. If I'm not in a relationship how can I help my son to get better now before it's too late? Great Question Rosie. And I'm sorry you're in such a difficult situation. Your problem is not your son. Your problem is your husband. I'm confident that if your husband would start to lay down some rules be consistent and get consequences whenever your son. breaks Israel's across boundary. He would start behaving well really very quickly. So my question is what can you do? You can only change you. You can't change your husband and so what you need to do and it's GonNa take a long time to work because as long as your husband's acting the way he is he's going to sabotage any good discipline. You put in place so when your son is with you. The most important thing you can do is to stand firm have backbone of steel Make your son follow your rules when he's at Your House. But here's the problem if he doesn't like what's going on at your house he's GonNa run back to Dad's house so this is going to be a real problem for you. Unfortunately the horses out of the Barn. Your son is already showing disrespect his already acting badly. And I think that your best bet in changing his behavior is going to happen when he's older and other words when he's in his early twenties and he can think things through well and he can understand. How bad behavior today results in really bad things in the future. But I'm concerned that as long as your husband's doing this to him. Whatever you do isn't really gonNA take hold because your son is looking up to your husband as his role model not you. The only reason is doing it is because he likes what he can get away with I do think that you're GonNa get better response from your son if you're not with your husband when your implementing some type of discipline I don't advocate divorce. I think that it's perfectly fine if you stay separated because you need to try to re establish some rules with your son and Try to get him to respect you. But again you gotta be toughest nails doesn't mean you need to be mean but you need to have him come to your house. You need to lay down some very simple guidelines like You can't be out after ten o'clock night and if you're out after ten o'clock at night I take your phone. Lock it away and you start to do that. He is going to have major temper tantrums. If you can withstand the temper tantrums continue to give serious consequences to a couple of rules. You don't need change all of his behaviors at once. You can get somewhere with him now but you may have to wait till he's older to get him to respect you. Our next question comes from Foggia. She says I write to you because my four year old daughter is very fearful and I think anxious lately however. I'm wondering if it has to do with being quarantined for so long. She has started to yell if she is left by herself. On the top floor and the rest of us are downstairs. She says she is scared. Of Darkness and thunder to the biggest problem is that she has started to wake up in the middle of the night saying that. She's having nightmares the first few days. We let her sleep in our bed but after two weeks. We all feel sleep deprived. We have tried bringing a mattress and letting her sleep by my side but she insists she needs to be closer to me or at least make some eye contact. She has been sleeping with her brother. While we transition her toddler bed to a big girl bed so we always reassure her that she has never alone also concerned that she has developed a bad habit of coming to my room every night because when we walk her back she yells and cries and when we give in and bring her over. She immediately smiles and falls asleep quickly. I can see some anxious behaviors and I understand her fears. But how do I know if this has become manipulation? We'll finally I can tell you right off the bat that your daughter is genuinely afraid. She's not manipulating you. She has reason to be afraid because in her mind. She's very very far away from you and I can tell you that even older kids don't do well sleeping on a separate floor from their parents. As a matter of fact I've seen kids that move from a small home to a big home which the parents think they're gonNA love and kids hate it because you're so far away from their parents so I need to do is make sure she sleeping on the same floor that you are personally. I'd let her sleep with her brother for as long as she wants to if she doesn't want to do that. I'd let her sleep on a mattress in the corner of your bedroom. And until she gets over her fear. This is genuine. Fear it's not manipulation and when a child's fearful you WANNA quell those fears because she'll learn not to trust you if you don't you also don't want this to turn into a larger anxiety issue which will happen if she feels frightened. You don't meet her needs you. Don't calmer down can't trust you. Then she'll develop more anxiety sleep issues in someone who's for will resolve. There will be a day when she'll sleep in.

"Every day and I'm not saying money is more happiness, but I am saying you get in your life, then you. Can Impersonation one. I love. You. Say This you might be. The head of the household with your wife is the neck and neck turns the head. Anyway, it wants. You to do this. Do this and your wife does this. Not going that way. So yet, you know even I was demands, headed the white, but that doesn't mean he's the boss. Because the net the net controls, the direction of the head it doesn't mean the wife control I mean it's absolutely a partnership, and and and being the head of the House means you of the head. Servant was really what it means. You are responsible to be the example of Servant Hood in Your House. It doesn't mean you're the boss. So I think a lot of guys. Especially in relationships, a lot of relationships don't make it because someone is trying to be in charge in. Someone's trying to control the other person. I'm sure a lot of people listening right now. Relational problems you could stem back to someone wanting to get their way. But if you both said I, just want to serve you and I wanna make you have a matter of fact when you get married. Or even date somebody. If, you're thinking. I'm going to do it for because of what they're gonNA do for me. That relationship has a less chance of making it versus if you said I'm GonNa date them or marry them because of what I could do for them. And if you both served each other. The chances of gone bad are lot less so if someone was in a relationship now, that was struggling. What. Would you suggest they do because? I know that? You have worked with couples that I personally. You have home health. Save their marriage. What would what would you say and they were married for a long time still? I know he's talking I would.

There's no excuses like a case of water on instagram. A couple of weeks ago fired off with that and less on my house and heavy in blocks I was like oh my gosh I can use mat and then she needed real heavy. She left her husband. Oh yes I did. And he's like I'm going to call nine one one. I saw it on America's most wanted and this other guy who's definitely in a fucking totally different movie is like. Oh Yeah. Did you see the one that I was on? And I'm like what are you doing disturbing and he pulls out the phone wire. It's amazing amazing performance by this man. It is so scary. It is scary so they fucking kidnap him. They kidnap him and she comes home. And she's like flopping all over the house she finds the ring immediately. Look checks her fishbowl for rings every day and she's just like you know she's just Moody Teen Bubble Blah and again. Yeah the parents come back with gross threes. They rented videos just like in little. They're just hanging. They will not be deterred by this by their past life catching up with them. I guess that's what they learned it. Dude it's like the dumbest fucking move like there should be you know and maybe there is. I don't know I've had to be in witness protection That you know of. Oh but like you know. "Remember when I went to Your House. A few nights ago we snuggled close to your fireplace just sitting in silence and then a hit you with this new set of hard questions. Samuel. Would you actually moved down to California if I want to stay and I know we talked about having hypothetical children. But what makes you so sure that's going to happen in the first place. And what if you find someone? You're more compatible with or what if I do you listened? You let me cry. And responded with silence. Lots of silence and then you said Yeah. I consider moving but only after finishing school and with my career on track and of course. I don't know if kids or marriage is going to happen for sure but I know that being with you for the rest of my life is something that I want so I'm going to work toward that last but not least if you want to see someone else fine but don't expect me to come back to you because you'd be breaking up with me so whoever you'd leave me for better be awesome. Because I believe I'm the best there is for you. This conversation helps me understand that my questions were actually insecurities about myself about us. I don't mean to be doubtful about our future because everything tells me you're the one but I can't make promise yet. Maybe it's because I'm so sure that I also feel ready to go and you of all people don't deserve an empty.

"Very worried about this. He has the same routine every day. Rain or shine literally rain or shine. He drives five miles to a local park and exercises. And could he do that? And yes under the clear language of the of this as long as he keeps six feet away from everyone else at the park. And he said actually. There's nobody there That he can do that. So can you get out for recreational drive? My family does this and under the plain language of the order. No you really can't go for recreational drive a but but I don't think you're GONNA have local sheriff's offices in forcing you going. For a drive the presumption will be that you're going Somewhere to see someone and you can for example your local car wash can stay open as long as everyone stays away from each other so that business won't have to close down under the plain language so if you're taking your car out for a car wash or something like that you do it now. The other one is visitors to your house. You want to Bible study at Your House. The governor is made clear in the. Let me read you the key. Visitors listed shall be strictly enforced against nursing homes or other long term care facilities include inpatient hospice assisted living communities personal care homes intermediate care homes community. It means you're not strictly enforced against someone's household so let me read you the visitation Section of the order people required to shelter in place under any provision of this order shall not receive visitors..

"He started play soccer them and I thought he was crazy. I looked out the window. It was like what are you doing? Why are you even associated with them like you know what they did but you can tell your story? There's a reason why one day I was out for a jog and I went by him from their house and all of these teenage guys are sitting out front and when I saw them I immediately felt like I was telling me I needed to forgive him and I told him I said. I don't really feel like forgiving them and once again I just felt that still small voice inside saying you. You really need to forgive him and I said I got. If you'll help me I'll try my best and I continued on my run and when I got back home I felt him. Speak to me again. Said Steve if you're willing to try your best to forgive him while you go over and share with them about me and I didn't really know what else to do but I knew kids here loves soccer and so I grabbed a ball and I walked over their place and they saw and they came run out in the street and they said Hey. Can we play and I said yeah absolutely and so. We started a game in the middle of the road there. That day wasn't just something. I did one time with him but it became something I would do regularly and over time. They got to know me. They got to hear my story and even had a chance. Share them about Christ. You start building a relationship with the teenagers who stole from your who broke in and stole from Your House. I did yeah inwardly. I was hoping that maybe a relationship would keep them from robbing us again but but I also knew that God was asking me to forgive and to be able to do that. I had to get to know them. "The Code Y. So this week. I'm digging something that happened to my phone. My phone has been through a lot guys like I got this phone at four on the door right way. Instead of problems I think unrelated to the toilet because this version of the iphone is supposed to be waterproof but I don't know it continues to evade me with certain glitches and the latest glitch actually led to me having to wipe every single thing off my phone. You may wonder how has the deal with digging anything because wiping your phone does not sound like a positive thing. It ended up having a positive outcome. I'll explain the glitch first. Glitch was whenever I was using my keypad or my emojis. It would freeze and all the letters would be really big and it would freeze like that for a minute and it just was super frustrating. Because if I was trying to techs John about the thing I needed at the grocery store and it froze for a minute. He'd be texting me in that minute and being like do we need apples. Are You buy your phone? Answer me? Lots of question mark. This is very dire. Involves APPLES SIGN? I'm leaving I'm at the checkout and I'm sitting at home waiting for phone to wake up and so I ended up making an appointment at the apple store and the guy looked at it and he was like look. I've done all the tests. I can tell you. It's not a hardware issue. This is a software issue. And the best way to fix it is to just wipe your phone clean and not transfer everything over because this glitch if we wiped your phone clean but then basically uploaded your last version of your phone if you restore a backup then you would just restore the glitch. So he said he would put back like your messages and your photos and like some of your cloud stuff but he suggested you reinstall all of your apps individually as you need them right. He couldn't restore the entire thing because then the liquid comeback so he was Kinda like well piecemeal it will restore the things I can without the glitch attaching to it. Then you add your apps back and I was like okay and he handed me my phone and I was unprepared you guys. It had like hardly any APPS on it. You know just like the ones that come with a new phone it like weird backdrop of swirling colors. 'cause my photos were there but it didn't keep the selection of my screen savers and all that you know what else it didn't. It didn't have any passwords to things so I couldn't get into Google mail for a while. Had to like figure out how to get into g mail again. There was a few days where she was like. Oh my Gosh John batchelor to this right. It was like I can't get into. I can't get an instagram. It was like all this stuff and so is slowly started adding my aspect and about five days into what I realized the beauty. Which was that? I still have way way less apps than I used to have. And there's something about wiping it clean and then just adding them as you need them again. Guys this applies to so much right like buying things for the beach house as we needed it. Instead of running into target and duplicating every item we have in our richmond kitchen regardless of if we use it or not. It's as you need it. That's kind of the life hack because instead of scrolling pages and pages I would scroll back to to find something I only have a page and a half a page and a half of APPS for me I used to have four or five so I am not swiping looking for things and I think it would have been much harder if you told me. Delete the ones you don't use because I would say ooh that couponing out. I mean to use that I forget to but I'm going to use it or like. Oh that APP. I sometimes use that to like do something cool on a video but yet I haven't done anything on video on my phone in three years right. So the active deleting them all and then adding them as I need them is brilliant. Because my phone is way less packed. It's way easier to use and I really don't think I could have gotten to it in any other way then. There's wiping the slate clean and starting over. Because you're basically building from memory like things you remember that you use or things that you need like when a need comes up for an APP you can go download it. So it's not like your phone isn't as functional for you as it used to be. You've just gotten rid of all the clutter APPs the APPS that you weren't touching anymore you weren't using very frequently and you probably didn't need but they were still on your phone that couponing nap that like you intended to use but you never actually got around to using it. Which like you said is a metaphor for your life or Your House. In general like we've even talks about in decorating. If you're having trouble simple find like you could take everything out of the room and then put back what you need as you need it like. That's pretty drastic. But if you are trying to reset a space just like your foams reset that is something you can do. It's like the physical version of deleting all your APPs right yeah I always say that for your mantle. Don't do your whole room. That's overwhelming entire house you can but your mantle as an example of like you might have had three things up there you liked it then five and it's creep things keep getting added and added take every single thing off and then add them on one by one and play around with it and you might find your back to liking three or five and not eight. I don't know if my suggestion is to wipe your phone because truly the password thing is so annoying. Not Having. My screen saver is annoying about this suggestion. Go put all of your apps into one folder. Drag them into one little older and as you need them drag them back out and after a month go in that folder and delete every other APP. Because if you didn't use it in a month you probably don't need it and if you need you can just download it. They're not gone forever anyway. Yeah that's a good idea. John well what I am digging. This week is a very analog thing. Compared to share digital is another family game you know we like finding games that we as a family can play like after dinner or something or on a weekend and it is sometimes tough to find something that is enjoyable to all ages again. We have a five year old nine year old and then the two of US share is going to be thirty eight soon very hard to find games for her age group where all the thirty eight year old games at. This is thirty five. I'm also thirty eight so should not throw stones but we recently got the game as a gift from a friend. I think it's a game that's been around awhile but it's new to us and it perfectly fits this age group of our house. I can age groups. I should say our house and I linked to it in the show notes..

He's amazing to watch them and see them. Watch the episodes and we're like Oh. Yeah how is it? How's the editing and stuff that's not us at all or does it accurately portray who you guys perfection? Yes you always hear people complaining like it's scripted. Or they make you say stuff during voiceover is. That's not their. You know they tell you like say certain things but you guys think you're completely accurate way. You're portrayed I think it's depends on the show right you have to be if you're going on TV. You have to be true to yourself and be willing to put yourself out there and you can rally a different person right and I think that's what it is so I think that some people do say that they're reality shows scripted. Maybe they're hiding things. Maybe they don't agree to certain things so they have to fill mother right with us. Our show was exactly what it is. We have a crazy family a little bit too crazy. Yeah the thing that people think like things are staging that like naked Catholic. That's normal to us. We do that like every couple of weeks to like a monthly. We really do everything in the show. "This. WHO's managing the front of your house so for a local business? The front of the house can mean two different things but largely it refers to having some. I'm kind of physical office. Where your prospects and customers are coming to you in a daily basis so if you think about some of the most common examples sample's doctors offices dentists offices chiropractors nail salons massage therapist? I those are some of the common examples but obviously there are lots and lots of examples restaurants places that you're getting customers on a regular basis in the front of the House is typically one of two different things one. It's it's a single person that it is in charge of the front of the House so if we look at a doctor's Office for example it's typically referred to as a receptionist so let's just digest that front of the House experience for just a second. I'm going to give you two you completely different. Examples of experiences in how one of those is going to lead to much better outcomes for you so one example is and went and visited my local doctor's office and you walk in the place. Sounds like a mortgage. Just everyone everyone is quiet and it's dingy and they've got art work on the wall but it's I mean just old stuff and pictures. Here's of the doctor. It's just. It's a traditional doctors office. You Walk in the glass that can windows that the receptionist opening close. You've got the little clipboard to sign in you sign in you have a seat. They call you up and then they go through their routine as your insurance changed. Here's your deposit you owe or your co-pay go sit down. Someone will call you. That's the front of the House and I'm sure sounds very very common to you. It's very similar at dentist's office chiropractor offices it Cetera. Now not all. The offices are exactly that same but I've been to enough different medical offices to know that that is pretty common now when I look at that type of experience I would challenge you and say it. Is that experience helping thing that particular doctor's office or medical office or not the you could say. Well it's really not helping or hurting. But depending on that receptionist that person can easily make or break the experience and sadly doctors offices alike have of a pretty notorious bad rap for not having the friendliest perceptionist people that don't seem to love their job and it just that tends to often be the case so that one person could end up putting you over the edge to decide to go to another doctor's office office like I've just had enough. There's nothing different than the doctor does. The receptionist is constantly rude. And that could put you over the edge. That could also put you over the edge to go and talk on social media about your doctor's office and say how you're not thrilled with it. That experience can literally make or break bake your perception. It could make or break your appointment. It's GonNa make or break if you decide to refer that business and that's even before you've seen the actual doctor her. The doctor might be the best thing since sliced bread and being absolutely amazing doctor. However if you're having a poor front of the house experience it could potentially tarnish things now? I'm GONNA flip that on its heels and so I went and had a completely different experience so I went. Clinton visited more of a alternative medicine. Doctors Office called Halsey Health and wellness. And they're in Texas now. One of the big differences is that it's private pay versus insurance so that that's just a little bit of an f. y. i.. However the big difference is that they have choreographed the entire experience to make sure that from the second you walk in the door to the second that you walk out that door you have the the most amazing experience possible to let me tell you how my experience went there referring to the front front of the House before I even got to see the doctor I walk in and within five seconds there is someone that's already there? They have a packet. Their only job is to greet me ask how my trip was because I flew in from buffalo to go there to see if I need anything before they take me upstairs so they're literally there to greet you with a warm friendly smile. Have everything getting ready in the see before even if you walked as earning that you need from your car. Can I assist you with anything else. Yet they take you upstairs now. You're greeted needed by somebody else. which is still the front of the house experience? That person is going to help handle your paperwork and show you how your day's going to go. They bring you some water. They're offering you coffee and tea in. It's not just here's a little K- cup. All this stuff is choreographed out and planned their anticipating your needs but they're also making sure that they spend spend just as much time and attention on the front of the House experience than they do with everything else so they've got great Bottled I don water. That's not in the plastic containers. They had fresh coffee fresh T. They didn't have since so obviously it has a lot to do with health. They weren't just going to throw a bunch of sugar in there. They had the natural sweeteners and things like that. But they've they've choreographed the entire experience out. They have made sure that that front of the House. Experience -perience is absolutely phenomenal absolutely phenomenal and that set. The tone for was a great day all the way to the end and in it everything was completely choreographed flawlessly absolutely flawlessly. So when I want you to think about today is is one of the things at the front of the House that could be hurting. The experience of your prospects and customers hurting their propensity to refer business business hurting their propensity propensity to leave five star reviews. And what I like to do. Is I want you to secret shop or send the people that have never been to your business into the front of Your House and let them tell you with no holds back how that experience was and I promise you. It's not nearly going to be as good as you expected. My dentist's office is phenomenal. Phenomenal in terms of the service but their front of the House is still lacking still lacking. It's still a stupid sign in sheet that that they've been same type of thing that's been being used for twenty years. There's coffee and tea in the waiting room but it's keurigs stuff but who's going to have a cup of coffee before they get their teeth cleaned. It just not practical. So wh what are the things that could potentially improve that front of the house breath experience stupid little things like having my name on the TV not my full name. Welcome Michael Hope. You have a great day to day little things when I walk in that. Oh don't you don't have to worry about signing in We have you preregister because they already know me been going there for years years and years and years and years so why would have to sign in. Doesn't make sense. I'd love to know. Are they running behind wind or are they running on schedule. So I know if I'm GONNA have to sit there and wait for thirty minutes will then I might go back to my current. If you phone calls choreograph out out the front of the house experience. Make sure that that is a flawless experience. And I promise you your income will start to rise. You'll get happier customers more referrals better reviews more. "Like and seen that shit is done. I am out because facing those three years. Here's I would rather have those three things come true. Then stay where I am right now. And it's a really empowering moment and you want people to find that moment when they tell you they wanna quit their job for like eight years in a row and your eight years somewhere. That aided isn't that so much worse than what maybe could happen if you quit and try something else exactly exactly and what ends up happening in these workshops is will you were actually huge and having in that room I always need someone who's not shy interest first base and you know to start the conversation of like throw out a turn left. You've already done so someone will say I left a job or I got out of a marriage or I. I sold everything and went on a trip around the world for a year. And it's GonNa sparks something in someone else in the room you never know who's in the room and what they're thinking about and what they're struggling ogling with and again people want to help people so I think creating those kind of environments and those kind of situations where I I can't remember. There was another thing that happened in that room or somebody. Oh somebody wanted to run a marathon and trained to run a marathon and other states and because she said it out loud. I happen to have known a girl who does this. That sounds like her things. She wants to run a marathon in all fifty states and so I- connected them right so that they could have a little bit of a phone. Yeah like that's how you create those connections and so I think part of being able to say it out loud and acknowledge what you have faced also gives other people the courage to then take that same leap like well. If she's done it and she looks really happy. Maybe I can do it to to your point about losing a limb like we wouldn't necessarily be able to project that I would be you not just fine but potentially better right was coming through a trauma like that and to hear people and see people who've done it as we no is massively inspiring and heroic and you know yeah okay okay so for people listening. And they're like Oh. This is all great information but I have no idea where to start start. How do I put this into practice? Can you take us through like a quick thing where you're having them tangibly either. Write down or Mana faster or start this process of dealing with their intentions for the new year differently than maybe they have before. Yes I would say first things I write down. Okay okay so go grab your favorite pen and your favorite pet. A paper press pause. Come back when you're ready right down. The one thing that you WanNa create create in twenty twenty so by the end of twenty twenty and December twenty. Twenty when you're looking back what are you so grateful for that you brought in and whatever ever the thing is Kinda go one or two levels deeper of what was it that you wanted to feel so if I want to bring in more money. It's not that I need the money. It's that I wanNA feel feel more abundant or I wanNA have a bigger place and I want to have an art studio in it so that I feel free and my creativity is flowing. The creativity is flowing. Then I feel alive right so you're grateful because then you can feel alive so go into the feeling that you WANNA create right that down and then go back and think about a moment when you could have very easily stayed safely contracts. You were doing what you were supposed to be doing You were being you know following the rules but something in you with pulling you to get off track. You knew that there was more for you you wanted mid more. You knew you deserved more. I write down the three biggest fears that you were facing when making that choice and then right down the reality of those. Let's fears once you actually jumped so whatever it is that the reality of those fears became once you jump. Whatever the fear is that's holding you back from going in and really creating what you want to be under twenty twenty? Those fears have just as much power as the old ones did. So just hold that like feeling of safety and stability and security charity in your heart and then as often as you can lean into the feeling that you WANNA create at the end of twenty twenty lean into what it will feel like to be in your bigger apartment or in your better job in your loving relationship. What does it feel like to know that it's already happened? Get yourself on that vibration Asian as if it already exists. And then I think the key here is to surrender and it's been the hardest thing for me to do and I'm still still working on it but to truly surrendered and knowing to your point about we don't know how to predict happiness. I don't know how to predict timing but I know everything else in my life has always worked out. So I'M GONNA sort of surrender and know if my person were supposed to be in my life today. They would be here the fact that they're not I'm GONNA keep holding on to that feeling of being in a divine partnership with an amazing human being who supportive and stands by my side and we can love each other for exactly who we are and I know that when it's the perfect timing that person will show up and it will be amazing. And until then I'm just gonNA keep loving them from where I am. But that's the sort of surrender piece to it. And if you hate me for saying that I totally get it. But that's sort of the reality of where I am now. Do people tend to hate you and you say because I know you've said before that your mantra at at the end of every class stitches. You are exactly where you're meant to be mentally physically and spiritually. Sometimes people get mad at you for saying that. If they're not in a good spot they would say why. Why am I meant to be here? Yeah and I do too like I sort of get into the like but I do this work for a living whereas person and I think the thing that we have to realize as as as this might be a global thing but I think specifically as like Westerners we really love being in control or at least thinking we're in control and manifestation and all of this work that I do is we control we can control and then you have to let go because the reality reality is we are teeny tiny little specks of energy and we can only control so much and the rest you just have to trust that there is some other plan or pass for you out there and you know not to say like you gotta go and pray to any God or a specific or anything like that but just sort sort of knowing. It's going to happen when it's meant to happen. Whether it's the coincidence falling into place for those of you rolling your eyes I totally get it but if you look back on your life things fall into your lap at just the perfect timing just perfect way and however you explain. That is how I need you to explain on this thing coming in the future. Right it's GonNa come at just the right time and so much of that too is how you decide to approach life. If you're someone when something bad happens who thinks bad things always happen to me. Then you don't think about the fact that there are plenty of other people in the world that are going through terrible things and you never think good things always happen to me. Then you're going to focus on the bad and you're going to not believe that you can change it. There's a quote that I always loved the happiest people don't have the best of everything they just make the best of everything because he's back into gratitude which I talk about all the time here and things that actually work for me which is learning how to make my brain react differently differently when I'm stuck in traffic and I think instead Oh my God. I'm so annoyed by this. I think wow. This is actually a reasonable time for me to be stuck in this traffic. Because I'm not in a hurry while this would have been so much worse if this was on a day when I was in a hurry but actually you know what I'm really enjoying this podcast sis gives me more time to listen to it and my brain actually goes there now instead he used. I used to go. which is I want to run the car over in front of me and get out of traffic because I've trained it now to try to react differently when I get into situations by just choosing choosing over and over stepping outside of myself and looking at the thoughts? I'm having an saying or these thoughts productive. Are they helping you in any way or could you react differently to the situation. You're in now and now I don't have to choose that anymore. My brain just goes there. It's a miracle it's magic you literally like. I'M GONNA try to go for another athletic moment here. Like if you keep running the same track you're going to create a little groove in track and that's what you're doing with your brain you're creating little patterns and it's easier easier for your brain to stay in that pattern so if you're constantly going to the negative constantly looking for the dark it will happily show up. And that's why I always say it's like in classes. The most powerful thing we can do is find gratitude in every single moment. We're into your point of wow. I'm in a heated car. Dr And it's raining out and stuck in traffic but I'm not getting what and I'm not cold and I am radio and satellite radio and I'm you know like and to go into all the different things that are going right right for you and sometimes I'll say them out loud and I always say to people at the class pictures someone in your world that you're grateful for because it's such an easy way for us to connect to the actual feeling and to my point about finding the it's not about the thing that you want the store you want you're looking for a feeling that you feel like is missing from your life and your goal so someone will say I WanNa lose weight in twenty twenty something you want to lose weight you wanNA feel healthier right. You don't feel healthy right now and you probably WanNa feel healthier. If it's about advantage like that still is a feeling that you're seeking some kind of not enough that you're solving for and for me like when I think about a person I generally think about my puppy a twelve year old puppy and because when I think about her face my heart instantly softens right like when I think of her playing and running like a puppy I you feel happy and I feel light and pledged to and then I feel guilty. Sometimes when I think of people instead of fletch better. That's always fletch. That coming I think of our pets. Because it's that unconditional right. Like no matter what they're cute and no matter what they love us so it's easier but I ask people people to think about whatever it is that's going to put you in the feeling that you wanna be feeling later. Just keep thinking about like attracts like more you water it the more it will grow so so the more you can stay in that loop of my person's already here on some level. He's already here. So if I imagine what it's like like hang up this this podcast and he's texted me like hey babe. Hope it went great. Can't wait to hear about it tonight at dinner like my heart feels better. You know we just WanNa live and that good feeling as much as possible when you're also gonNA walk out of Your House. Presumably to go run errands or teach a class or do whatever and if you're in that space of like he's already here or I'm already skinnier and more comfortable in my body. I'm just working my way to getting there physically but mentally. I'm already there where I'm already moved onto like believing that the career I want is in front of me. I'm going to walk through this day with this joy of like holy cow. How I'M GONNA make it at the thing that I love and want to do? Then you're putting all that energy out to all the people around you and they're gonNA WANNA be around it and it's going to manifest itself completely opposite if you're walking the world like everything stocks I still don't have a man career a house or whatever But I think it's so hard to like you said to just surrender to the belief of it and not get caught up in the idea that it hasn't gotten there yet..

Tell that anecdote to to eleven year old you I mean it's really really stop. Isn't it a little bit honestly. I know I'm old. It's Tuesday bear with me. Isn't that just a little bit totally it totally now whenever you really stop and look at it and on top of it all for at least some large portion of that I had an ipad pro in my hand where I was able to look at a jetsons style computer in my lap manipulate with Ryan homes I don't know and it's all just so normal. It became so normal so very very quick. The t the tea was such a revolution for me in two thousand two thousand one and now now even now look where we are. It's so weird I think think about Tivo and how so many I think what was different about like you said before the little computer that we have in our pocket with us all the time and is that we went from not having that to having it and pretty much everyone having it in a very very very very short appeared time I would love to see percentage numbers from when the television was first released into the public and it was you could go and buy it by one to you. Consider your friend's house or watch it in a store right because it was like seven yeah I wanna see like when when we went from there are no televisions to everybody has a television and how that time period compares to there were no smartphones and now basically everybody has a smartphone super interesting don. I would love to see that because my hunch without knowing is that it was very very very very very fast compared to adoption of T._v.. Or maybe even radio refrigerators refrigerators would probably got a laugh. You gotta let Iraq Electric Power Our <hes> you know what if you tell me about something near.
