How Real Is the Threat of a Russian Invasion of Ukraine?

"We could call this the heritage day. We've got the new present comes in studio to talk to us and of course our loyal national security foreign policy expert he is, of course, doctor Jim colonel carafano preventing World War three one tweet at a time. JJ carrano is his handle. Jim, we got to talk about the Europeans, foreign relations, The White House, but first, the story that nobody's really talking about enough, Russia, Ukraine, are we on the brink of war? Well, Europeans are talking about it. I told you I talked to a number of and they're just gobsmacked about what's going on. So what's going on? Well, so Putin has masked masses of equipment on the Ukraine and in a huge army there. And then he drew some of them off, and now he's sending them back. So there is an army big enough to invade Ukraine. If Putin wanted to evade Ukraine tomorrow, he could do it. And he's sending messages to D.C., saying don't arm the Ukrainians. Right. Don't honor the Ukrainians. Don't have NATO troops. I mean, he's been very intimidating. And this is one of actually 6 or 7 major provocations that the Russians are doing simultaneously. The response to that was to blinken waved his finger at Putin. And if you remember, Putin was a KGB agent and they used to like take people's fingers and snap them off for fun. So that wasn't very effective. So now Biden said he is going to meet with Putin. And today Biden says, well, I have a plan to deter the Russians, and I'm going to put this on the table with Putin. I don't think anybody thinks that this is really going to be very effective. But the big question is is will Putin invade Ukraine. And you know, my argument is, no, that doesn't mean he won't. He could wake up tomorrow and decide he does. I mean, I don't speak for Putin, obviously. But the analogy I use is like you are playing poker with the worst poker player on the Planet Earth, right? Who's the bad poker player? Joe Biden. Right. And what do you do? I would just keep playing, right? You could do all Tony Soprano and rob the game, but why

Dr. Kevin Roberts Describes the Heritage Foundation's Top 3 Priorities

"He is doctor Kevin Roberts. He comes from the Texas public policy foundation with his Sterling record and he is now the big man at heritage, doctor Roberts. Welcome to America first. Seth, thanks for having me. It's a pleasure, my friend. All right, so you bring a very, very strong reputation for being a serious Texan on the issues of conservativism. We are huge fans of Ed fuller, full disclosure. My wife is a director at the heritage foundation. We are close friends with K cost James the outgoing president who is a rockstar been on the show several times. I just want to give you a platform in front of 3 million patriots. You mentioned three or four big priorities for you. I was a strategist in The White House. You can't do strategy unless you prioritize things. You can't fix everything at once. So tell Americans across the country, what heritage is new priorities are under your leadership. Number one, education. And by that, I mean, if we in the conservative movement don't take advantage of the absolute frustration that Americans, including some of whom are apolitical have with the indoctrination in our schools, we've missed the opportunity of a lifetime education number one. Number two, big tech. It is past time as you know from your experience for our institutions starting with the heritage foundation to recognize that big tech is the enemy of the state to name them as such and to develop policy reforms as a result. We have the definitive set of solutions coming out in the next days that will describe that. And thirdly, China. I like you understand the threat that the Soviet Union was to freedom to Americans to people around the world. I'm a son of the 1980s. We have failed as a country to recognize and to name China as the same kind of enemy that the today that the Soviet Union was then inherited is going to be leading

Former Rep. Dave Brat Agrees All Modern Democrats Are Radicals

"That. I'm sure you agree newt is one of the greatest political minds out there. You fought as a congressman. You want to seat you weren't supposed to win. But today's Democrat party, it's just radicals, isn't it Dave? Yeah. Yeah, and I think newt had the right solution. Our conference, right? People may not even know what that is. When all the Republicans get together once a week, we meet in conference. And our strategy back when I was there and I think it's been the strategy for a couple decades is you just let everyone run their own race. So you've got the entire national intelligence agencies, coupled up with big media. Now teamed up with big technology, all the donors are on the left. And a single congressman with a megaphone is supposed to compete against that one on infinity. And it doesn't work. And that's why we lose. We do not have a team voice. And so our speaker of the House needs to get a new contract that we all believe in that that hits over 51% that's newt's genius. And it's got to solve the problems of America. It's not just a win election. It's got to solve problems, getting rid of this, the 45 trillion in debt. Everybody knows what the problems are, right? The border and you're just chaos across the country right now. But we need to speak with one voice and we need a leader. Newt was a leader, and we need a leader who will speak with one voice and unite us. And even with that, it's an uphill fight against the press and all the forces I just mentioned, but that's what we got

Congress Poised to Change Tax Laws

"Charlie, you and I were emailing and the house and the senator about to change the tax laws of the United States. I've been telling people all week long as soon as that happens, they should take a number of years of their past returns, call you up and find out whether or not the right kind of client high income client. And that you've got to look at that. Am I right? They're about to change the tax laws. They're about to change a tax loss of the tax laws have wavered back and forth between various proposals, there was the wealth tax. There was the family plan and now there's build back in America. And we've been fortunate that we've had two reasonable democratic senators that have essentially allowed us to Dodge a major tax bill and I believe they've not been able to enact much of the legislation that would have affected many of our listeners, but nonetheless the Biden administration wants to substantially increase marginal rates to build back America plan has many changes in it and the reality is. I formed my CPA firm two decades ago to help clients recover dollars at the unnecessarily payment form of state and federal income taxes in most CPAs are simply historians and we do a very good job of helping clients mitigate that cost. And doing simply what other CPA don't.

Miranda Devine: The Media Is Still Avoiding the Real Hunter Biden Story

"This has been going on since the beginning of Joe Biden's career really I mean he's the center of the Delaware He won the election when he was 29 years old And from then on because Delaware is this unique state in America where so many corporations are headquartered there because of its tax laws but mainly the opacity of its corporations law He had really a lot of power in the corporate world and he was also very powerful positions on both the legislative affairs committee and the foreign affairs committee And he was faced by these corporations and these donors gave him lots of money and also other things such as grace and favor jobs for family members especially hunter And so Hunter Biden was given inflated salaries and from that money very early on straight out of college he was expected to pay bills for the rest of the family And so there were stories along the way and even The New York Times have stories I mean Byron York did some brilliant work which I thought in the book on Joe Biden sort of real estate purchases which were very dodgy back in the day MBNA which is a credit card company in Delaware board a house from him a lot higher than comparable houses nearby An executive of theirs And so there was there was quite a bit of reporting done not enough in my view But I think that influence peddling is a Washington disease

"I. Wonder how? Long. It takes for something to update because I think of the bridge near Your House for that the couple years that it was closed. Now. Do they have. What is the chain to like make GPS's not than be like, oh, by the way, this is down. So I think. It'll be I feel like Google could probably guess that shutdown or not really operational once seeing people go. McKee you turn and I'll get. Right, and I'll get to that later about how they use actual user data but. you know these they have they send drivers out cars to drive around and map and double check the data they already have, and then they can you know say like, Hey, this road is closed temporarily You know I know in cities that happens a lot where there's like construction industry and right? Yeah. They. Shut down entire streets for like two days. They're not the fastest though I'm sorry. Yeah, and so that is a little harder to get by just sending around drivers because you only have so many drivers. So that's where the actor users come into play. and Google and apple, both basically use the location data from people's phones to try to Try to estimate where people are going and build an even more thorough picture of. How people are? Trapped data comes from based on how many vehicles are in proximity to one another going a speed. Yep, that's traffic comes in, and so we're both driving down the road. Our phones are capturing data about you know, half house removing GPS are captured data back faster moving, and so that'll probably give google an estimate for you know what the traffic's like it region. I don't know if you saw this recently a couple months ago some German artists art project with art isn't quotations where he put ninety nine Um smartphones in a wagon. And slowly dragged the wagon down. and. Basically. According to Google maps. It was basically like ninety nine cars that were stuck there. Crawling down the street you know moving at walking pace day something. That's that's so clever. Yes. So he was able to basically create a huge like massive traffic jam there and because of that. started routing cars in different streets. So basically, he was the only person on that. Man Because Google do that Google. Apple maps does as well though hit you with hey, there's a there's traffic. Let me. Give you fasten route. I and we I'm sure you know it doesn't always work out now because it's trying to guess based on people's. Phone data suggesting you know there have been times where you would maps wild back road super wind e back road. Added just got stuck with act to try to make a left across traffic and I could get out. And my conspiracy theory is that it sent me there and try to ease traffic pressure be stuck there to knock you care..

"That is because I also have to look at where I'm streaming to. For example if I'm going to facebook live does facebook alive allow me to do seven twenty ep Ten Eighty also known as he st or four K.. So I think the answer their gyms while I think it's seven twenty p right. On right now, right And, Youtube and now yeah now, Youtube will let you go to ten eighty but then one of the issues that's been going on at the time that we're recording this is there's so many people getting on these platforms that they are throttling. What people are able to do you have to make sure that you've got your settings right and even though like ten eighty, four K. looks just extremely nice and beautiful is it really necessary to get your point across seven twenty still does a great job of giving a nice Chris Clean Video You know a lot of that can be improved as well with your lighting and just having quality cameras for sure. So I would say this the first thing is we need to make sure we meet that minimum threshold for inter internet speeds. Of three megabytes, megabits per second five megabits per second is ideal. Twenty five we don't want to do four K.. So we have that that's our threshold. Then we have to look at where we're going to be streaming from is going to be a hotel. Is it going to be at my house? The speeds are going to potentially be different a hotel for example, is most the time knocking to be faster than your house. They're gonNA because they have so many different people connecting to the Internet and they have different rules and things like that. That are going to block that. Now in addition to that, what's the quality I'm streaming it? So my camera can do for K. but if I don't want to, I, don't have the bandwidth. If I don't have twenty five megabits per second. I should consider if I do a test like Jim mentioned, I should consider reducing the quality of my camera and that's actually for example, if you're using stream yard that's actually done in the settings menu, you can go into your stream and you can actually adjust the settings to do I. Think it's four, eighty, p seven, twenty I. Don't think they even go up to ten eighty at the moment and the reason is because then the places you're streaming to do those types of stream qualities and it's not because again. You also have to look at where people are going to be doing from. If you're audiences primarily viewing from mobile. You don't need a four K. stream on mobile. You have to have a four K. stream or quality to to begin with. So ten ADP or seven twenty is more than ideal. Okay, so Jim. Where do I go to test these like if I want to figure out? Okay. Well, what's my upload speed and download speed? Where do I go? Yeah, there's a couple of different sites that you can go to to test your speed. I I want to say one is a speed test. Dot Net is a really. Handy one you can actually download the APP on your phone or you can even put it on your computer and I'll give you a pretty good idea of what your speed is like. It'll give you both to upload and download, and so once you have an idea of that you know and you can you might even want to test it. periodically. Throughout the day because you may find if you're not hardwired that you have different times that you seem to get better. Internet than times that you do not at any others that you can think of I would say okay. So speed dot net that's the one that I primarily use myself. The other thing though to keep in mind is this. So the way that they work, you take your, for example, your laptop you. Connect to the network you're going to work from. So for example, if I'm connected to Wifi I connected that Wi fi network and then I go to speedtest dot net I, click go and it's GonNa check my upload speeds it's GonNa check my downloads now the same thing going to happen on mobile and this is where it can be a little tricky. So if you go to speed dot net and on mobile I run that Here's what you're gonNA see sometimes sometimes on mobile, you will see a very high upload speed. And a good download speed, and again, we want to make sure we pay attention to the upload speed. However, mobile can be a little tricky. It will tell you you're getting a speed and then you go to run the stream and the quality's not there. And that's mainly because partly, it's the limitation that the device has on how much it can you know if you're getting a hundred megabits per second up what speed your mobile device can't keep up with a hundred megabits per second? So it can be a bit of A. Misleading number on mobile. So just keep that in mind. So once you have that I wanNA make sure I look at the upload speeds I don't focus on the download download is always going to be probably pretty high the upload speed is where your usually cat but you do want that three to five megabits per second Twenty five megabits per second is fantastic. You could do four K. if you want to at that point. Jim Anything else you want to add on. Internet speeds anybody every needs to know about using it for live streaming. Now I just think it's one of the fundamentals of your stream and you know always Err on the side of having more Internet that you can use than just barely trying to get by because that's going to ultimately affect the quality of your livestream. Definitely. So that's GonNa do it for episode twenty of the launch. Your. PODCAST. On this episode, we talked about how? Different things that you need to know to make sure you have the right Internet speed for live streaming. For example, as Jim mentioned, make sure you restart your computer or your device before you do any live streaming that clears out all the gunk, all the resources that have been used. Make sure that you know what quality you're going to be broadcasting in. For example, is it four, twenty, four, Eighty, seven, twenty is a ten, eighty, P Four K. you're probably not going to be doing four K. unless you're trying to do. Gaming, for example. In addition to that where you're going to be broadcasting from. You know where you're going to be in a hotel or you're going to be in your office at Your House. It isn't that? hardwired versus Wifi. Make sure you are using hardwired when you can. And make sure you also purchase a new hard wired cable new ethernet cable that's also important because they do have various speed limitations. So if you're using a newer cable. They can actually Moot. Transmit data faster than the older cables. So make sure using a new cable notice grab when you've had sitting here drawer for ten years. Now in addition to that. If you want to go and check all of your speed beforehand speed dot net. And look at your upload speeds, and if they're not acceptable between that three to five megabits per second. And obviously twenty five megabits per second four G. or sorry four G. for four K. Maybe on the phone with your Internet provider talk to them about what type of Internet you have cable DSL you. Have Fiber. And See if they can upgrade you because a lot of times you know you get what you pay for. So if you get the, you know the low quality internet speed. Chances are. You're going to have a really low upload speed. So. You may need to upgrade that. But that's going to do it. If you have any additional questions, please do watch your dot live forward slash EDP twenty. We'll see you on another episode. Thanks. "These are really terrific to work and to us as fillers, and then you can. You can place in some your your precious things. Lovely things like the the crystal is you can kind of Put those in there to to set those up so that they look really special and they're not all in mix, but that's a really good way to create some some filler for you know. Another thing might WanNa have is a wealth tree, and this is what we talked about just a minute ago that you can get your Chinese emporium or you can get them online. Amazon has lots of stuff like that. But just. Look online for wealthy Chinese wealth tree or something like that. I. Like having that sort of putting in the bowl and put a wealth tree down in the bottom, and you want it to be at the place where it'll look like it's it's wealth growing up from the bottom. I really love that. Now, if you wanted to use a tall glass vase, you could do that. I've seen. Seen that and it's just beautiful like a tall as that. You would put some light tall flowers in like Oh, gladiolas or something like that. I seen those types of vases that are just filled up with all kinds of great sparkly things, and then the the the tree looks like it's sprouting out of the top it just fabulous looking There are a lot of fun. So. That's certainly what you can do and then inside the Inside this. You would place your your points or diamonds and gems, and the ingots on top around that wealth tree that spouting up from the the glass beads, and the and the Gold Nugget rocks that you've got in there. It's really You're had the best time doing this I love doing these. They're always fun to do now one of the things. I recommend that you like to that you would want to do is to add like a Golden Buddha. Sometimes, you find those small mini Buddha's the happy Buddha's because he represents taking on your problems and difficulties and transforming him into happiness. He's sort of like the Santa Clause of China, and in fact, he was actually a real Buddha or a real person. Once upon a time, he was a monk and he traveled around China cared a sack. So you'll often see him sitting on top of the SAC, which can be sack a gold store like Santa. Claus. Right. He had a sack same thing with with the ho-tai Buddha, which is the the Buddha with the big belly because he represents abundance and prosperity. Prosperity and not an and not lacking for anything. So it's a really terrific symbol to have in your wealth bowl, and so he carries us this bag and you'll see you'll see little ones. You can find that are three inches, four inches, something like that, and makes a really Nice Nice addition to have the ho-tai Buddha there. The happy. Happy Buddha. Now, where do you place this This is The wealth poll is always a Gr-, well place when you put it in the sector with the six star, because that's the heavy star that we talked about earlier that has windfalls and beautiful things that come to you like people. Helpful People, Heaven people, it's also good for international travel for. Some recognition by powerful people, we all need that right. Helps us get ahead and helps us well, you know recognitions. One of the reasons why you're may be listening to this podcast is because. We're somebody told you about this podcast or you heard about it, and that's that's that heaven energy we want for you to. So this is where you always want to try to follow with your wealth bowl and place it, and this year, the wealth location or the windfall location is in the southeast. Now I, know there's been a lot of problems with money and jobs because of the pandemic, but actually one of the things that has happened in assets. Assets the southeast is the location also assets. This means accumulated money money such as investments, stocks, real estate and money that you save for retirement, that type of thing for income. So the six star is in the wealth sector of assets and income, and the stock market in which has done very well. Yes. It took some some some dives, but it has really come back. strongly. gold is also now eighteen hundred dollars an ounce as I'm I'm doing this. This podcast and it could be going up, I think the I, I'm thinking that we might see two thousand easily this year for for gold and So we WANNA place that that wealth bowl in the in the windfall, the six star location of the wealth sector this year, that's the southeast. Now, that's for twenty twenty. It's going to move again in twenty twenty one, it'll be in the center and the center is just a wonderful place to have. Have a a wealth bowl, and now if you have a bathroom in the center of Your House, you can always use the south or sees me the center of your of your living room, and the same thing is true. If you don't WanNa, if you, let's say you've got a garage in the southeast corner, Your House, will you don't want to a wealth ball out there in the garage with the the old lumber and the pain and that kind of stuff? You'RE GONNA. WanNa. Place it in the southeast corner of your living room instead because you're living room acts as like a miniature of your whole house. That's because you know we always have laundry rooms or bathrooms or garages or that kind of thing kitchens where Maybe we don't want to activate that or we can't activate it with something really pretty and. And Beautiful So you can do that in the southeast corner of your living room this year or the center of your living room next year Now, there's another thing that you can do I and I think it's actually really special is to add your Zodiac sign. If you could find like a little animal, like if you're a rabbit, you can take a. A rabbit and put put a rabbit in in your wealth bowl or whoever? Your, whatever your signs are, your family who live in the House with you can put. There's odiaun signs in there and you can even make a miniature wealth bolt, just four years old. He Exxon and put it in the Zodiac or the position of the living room where your Zodiac..

"Some make your water sizable enough to count, but not so big that it's out of proportion to where you're placing it very key, and you'll know that by your eyes so I can't give you really rule of thumb, but you. You'll know for instance. There's a in my mother's neighborhood. When I draw into drive into her neighborhood. There's a house. And, IT'S A. I would say an average average home in the United States and There have a enormous fountain. It's really a fountain that would be much more suitable for a grand five thousand six thousand square foot house, and it just dominates the front of this this home and it always looks sized and they. It seems like it doesn't work very well. Because sometimes it's on. Sometimes, it's not on. But it just dominates this home and it. Justice doesn't do anything for it other than to look odd an out of proportion, and if you have a fountain or a water feature like that or swimming pool, then that's going to actually draw some negativity toward you. We don't want that so very important that you keep that that size in that proportion now we also want to make sure that. That, you place your water well, and besides at the front of the House. What else can you do because some you know? Some people can't have water at the front of their house. It just the way it works out in terms of their landscaping, or there's the way it looks. Maybe it's a homeowner. Association Says No. You can't do this and you have to approval for whatever you do. I totally understand that the you know we can't always have a functionary perfect house, and much as my I might like. It's true for me, too. So what else can you do well? Let's let's talk about having water on. It's important that you place it well, so let's just talk about if you can have water. At the front of the House it would be good if you could have the water on the left hand side of the door. That is as you're standing in the door. Looking out toward the street. There's a water fountain to your left or some type of water, feature, or fall or something like that. have it to your left as you're standing in your door. Looking out to the street water features that are placed on the right of the front door. King attract predatory females. So if you have a for instance you're in you, have your marriage in. You have some concerns about some infidelity particularly for a husband. Then when you have water on the right, it can cause potential for wandering now if you're not worried about that whatsoever you can in in this would be a good placement for your for your fountain. In terms of the way look and and the way it would be size than you can place it. There I, don't I? Don't subscribe to that belief that if you have water at the front of Your House on the right side. That's you're standing in the door looking out. It's on your right I don't subscribe to the belief that you're absolutely going to have. Your marriage fall apart I in fact I've had water on the right side of my house many times, and that has not been a problem whatsoever in a punctuate friend of mine. She's done the same thing. It just depends on your relationship, but that's that's been a an old wives tale with funkaway for a long time. Now another thing you might WanNa. Think about is adding some kind of a water feature in your living room or your Home Office and also in the wealth corner the southeast, because this really benefits by having water there in the wealth corner is is symbolized by this small leaf for a leaf of a blade of grass. Is that small thing that we want to grow grow grow because that's what we WANNA do with our money, right? We start out small, and we want to grow grow grow, and having that water found. Found in the southeast corner of your home or your living room is a great way to help attract more assets to your life, and to gain more more money and to grow your investments. We want to see them grow, and so this is a really nice place to place it. The other place where you can place water is the southwest corner. This brings prosperity to the woman and to the family. It's a really powerful way to add wonderful energy your home, and to your relationship and to make a profitable Or relationship, and especially, if a woman if you'RE A. Single mom and you want to really add some extra some extra security to your income at a little more opportunity for growing your income. Really Nice way is to add some kind of water feature in the southwest corner, and this is good for all homes the east. Of course this is a good corner for growth for health for family relationships. It's a would sector and it is. So happy to have water there. It's like a big tree. That's how we symbolize. The East is a big tree, and what a trees love lots and lots of water, so it's a really nice place to put that, and if you WANNA put that put a water feature in the east corner of your home, your living room or in your garden. It's a really nice place, my four, and then lastly the the water sector is the north, and that is the sector of income that's because we want income to be continuous and flowing like a river right, and it doesn't dry up. It's not just a stagnant pond that will dry. Dry Up that kind of thing, we want to make sure that we have this nice smooth constant flowing income, and a way that you can stimulate dot is in putting a waterfall I, really like waterfalls in particular waterfalls that have you know that movement and three have three falls, or six falls really auspicious it adds extra beneficial energy to your water feature when you have either three or six falls and it it stimulates your career Your Business.

"Every day and I'm not saying money is more happiness, but I am saying you get in your life, then you. Can Impersonation one. I love. You. Say This you might be. The head of the household with your wife is the neck and neck turns the head. Anyway, it wants. You to do this. Do this and your wife does this. Not going that way. So yet, you know even I was demands, headed the white, but that doesn't mean he's the boss. Because the net the net controls, the direction of the head it doesn't mean the wife control I mean it's absolutely a partnership, and and and being the head of the House means you of the head. Servant was really what it means. You are responsible to be the example of Servant Hood in Your House. It doesn't mean you're the boss. So I think a lot of guys. Especially in relationships, a lot of relationships don't make it because someone is trying to be in charge in. Someone's trying to control the other person. I'm sure a lot of people listening right now. Relational problems you could stem back to someone wanting to get their way. But if you both said I, just want to serve you and I wanna make you have a matter of fact when you get married. Or even date somebody. If, you're thinking. I'm going to do it for because of what they're gonNA do for me. That relationship has a less chance of making it versus if you said I'm GonNa date them or marry them because of what I could do for them. And if you both served each other. The chances of gone bad are lot less so if someone was in a relationship now, that was struggling. What. Would you suggest they do because? I know that? You have worked with couples that I personally. You have home health. Save their marriage. What would what would you say and they were married for a long time still? I know he's talking I would.

In his hall it was it was it was fine meeting as Mike will say we always left with agreements. Okay now I will say that. That's true on some level kind of like what Andrew was talking about earlier. He can say we laughed under some agreement because we did agree on some things. Okay but we didn't agree on an overall arching understanding of of our issues that I was bringing to him about the church. Okay so I. I met with him on August seventeenth. I also met at a second meeting. I requested it and I have all these text messages in and I asked him if I could come over again. I have something I wrote this. I have something of private nature to discuss today. Could we meet at Your House so we did? I asked him about it again. We went through it again now. This is an important thing because after one of these meetings he asks me. Can you ride out? And can you explain when we began to have a are likeminded? "Remember you saying that you felt that it took four years to make gals dog in that. You have your first year and then you got yours two three and by the time that dogs for that's what he's stepping into his prime and I know enough to know that a dog doesn't wake up one day and say oh I'm four years old now. Everything's going to be perfect. I know that but but talk a little bit about that sorta timeframe and what you've seen for dogs as they as a sort of hit that point in their hunting career and then what lies ahead. Yeah community if the progression I mean one of the things that's unfortunate about a gross dog and one of the reasons and also that makes it so difficult is in such a short season and dog only get so much experience. If you go on quail in the south or you can go on different species for a whole winter. Three or four or five month. I mean that's a ton of experience. Now they're not grouse but they're still wild birds but you a dog. I mean they're only getting out. Let's say I don't know I don't think many guys hunt twenty days. I mean there are guys and somebody on even more than that. But I'll bet your average ghost hunter that hunts a lot maybe twelve or fifteen times and that's not that much. I mean it's a lot but it's still not that much and those dogs just have to get enough bird contacts and he'll get better and better and better and again the more they find not necessarily the sooner they come on because it's also a factor of maturity and a dog. And if you look at the dog age I mean you know that first year. They're they're young and in the second year is usually. That's of trouble year. 'cause they're now they're not just young but they're also think they know all bunch because they had that first year and then they come into the third year they start putting things together and then by that fourth year. That's when I like to stay and you don't have a lot of successes all up and down. You know through the time from the puppy on but by that fourth year. That's the time you start dog. Cast out there and he knows you know what the covered like the smell the grouse hanging so even though you turn them loose here in an old woods you smell that eighteen year old. Aspen cut hundred yards away and off goes that way you know so. Allie can handle the birds better but they really know where to find. And they're physically mature enough to just say okay. I'm cool. I know what I'm doing. I was expected to me and I'm happy doing it. And that's what comes. You know. You might get some sooner and you do get some later. That's Kinda the aged. If you put that as a as a check mark and say by four I want him here grant just let them sit in Your House. Tell Twenty. You've had to put him in the birds birds and birds burt. But that is still a pretty good age and If you look to the old grouse literature and stuff way back when I panic. Collectible trading books and Even then they say the same thing and I haven't changed. Excellent are two questions here before I let you go and as we talked about before we started recording we could we could probably go on and on about this one. You just mentioned books so any off the top of your head good book recommendations whether they're whether they're upland hunting or dog draining some favorite books. You're not really hard because You know if you have to spend ten guys how to train a dog. You're going to get ten different ways you know. I think what's important is you can find a way that that kind of resonates with you. Whoever person is it has a dog and kind of go with it you know. I mean the classical book I go back to the best book seen by Phoebe Whitford and it's called training. The bird dog that was in the early nineteen hundreds and that guy named it. I mean he's just nailed it. He talks about anticipation and training. Now they don't you know they teach commanded and have collars back then a lot of different things but dogs haven't changed that much and if anything it's a little easier for us now but It's still the best book I've ever had. I mean close by Jerome Robinson was written quite a while ago I haven't really read Dental Williams book but I think I think he's kind of right on people that have told me about it. Just kind of let them develop naturally and. I think that that's kind of the thing. I mean if you again if you wanNA wild bird dog and you buy a well bred dog. That's been used for that. Most important thing you can do is just take them and let the dog learn perfect in perfect. Segue into my kind of final question here. Let's see we got somebody listening. That is maybe they're thinking about their first bird dog or maybe they're just thinking about their next bird dog but they're not quite sure where to start. You know no matter no matter. The breed no matter the style pointer flusher. What stations do you have for people that are that are seeking out there? Next dog mean. I'd say they're looking at buying a puppy. I mean when you go to buy a puppy unless you know the breeder and you know the parents and you've seen the dogs you're you're not really buying a puppy or buying the Breeder. I'd say you want to go out and you WanNa meet that breeder and you want to really get understanding where they're coming from and what they do with their dogs and how they figure out which dogs they breed when you come looking at literature puppies achieving your family and you have a wife and kids or something. I mean probably going to get one so you'd better make sure that you did your homework. Whatever breed it is? I mean that's what I would say. If you WANNA grow dog. Your highest odds are going to be fun somebody whose parents of grouse dog which most important is the parents very important of the grandparents and not some name on a pedigree but the actual dog and what they did that. That's what you WANNA do. You really have to vet the breeders because there's a lot of people out there that breed dogs and some of them are really good and some of aren't that good if you WanNa if you WANNA go hunting dog you definitely want to get it from stocks have been used for that for several generations..

"Podcast I'm Pam Barnhill your host and I am so happy that you are joining me here today. We'll today's episode of the PODCAST is about one of those things. We don't like to talk about but it happens. What do we do when our kids or eight kid doesn't like morning time so at my house? This is one child in particular who complains a little bit about morning time. We think that happens a lot in different families where it's not necessarily every kid but it's one kid or one or two kids even among kids who previously had really liked morning time In the there comes a point where maybe they're not digging at quite as much as they used to. So what do you do in a case like this? Is there anything you can do it all and should you push through if someone is not liking morning time and they're complaining about it and generally sometimes making other people miserable well? I'm joined today by the community manager at Your Morning Basket Don Garrett. We each have three kids. They're all in those middle tween to teen years so we have faced some of this ourselves. I always look forward to it. It's so much fun to have you on so we can talk about the burning issues that the people in Our community are having and one of the things that we hear about sometimes. Is that people struggle with morning time because their kids are giving them pushback or their kids. Don't like morning time. So do you hear this. Oh I hear this at my house I say. Let's just get this clear. How many years have you been doing morning time? Let's see here. Margaret is fifteen and we started with calendar time when she was three Rees so twelve a longtime along time. Okay and so you get pushback. Sometimes about morning time. Sure they don't like certain parts. They don't like things that I pull in. It takes a long time because we do like an hour and a half for morning. Time anyhow can right. Oh yes we've been closer to two hours in the past. They could just be getting their stuff done. There are all of these reasons. Why okay so. Let's talk about it because I get some push back about morning time to mostly from one particular child who shall remain nameless and so for you is it in and I will say okay. So there's one particular child gives me push back and we've talked about this already. My favorite saying is suck it up. Buttercup tell this child second outsider. You're going to do it anyway. So yes and then we do it and it's not as bad on the other side like the the discontent doesn't stay once we push through so I have a couple of questions for you first of all. Is it more than one child at Your House or at one child and then do you find the discontent stays the grumpiness stays throughout the entire morning time or does it lift typically? It's typically one of two children at this. Point has decided. It's the best part of the day and gets grumpy when we skip it but the other two kind of go back and forth with different reasons. Why and but no. Nobody's ever upset. That it has been done okay though. Those kind of like exercise is that an apt comparison. It's like some days you're okay. I'm never happy to do it ever but often on the other side of doing it. I feel very happy that I've done it. Maybe I haven't gotten to that very happy that I've done it but I mean we do talk about the idea. That scully sisters talks about a lot. Exposure breeds taste and so as they get more exposed to poetry or classical music or great art then they began to enjoy those things more and there are things that they really like And things that they really don't like in morning time right right. Okay so I think we have a number of different situations going on here and this kind of leads do so first of all even my kids and Don's kids who have been doing morning time for many many years. I mean we've been doing morning time for a good eight years. Now go through and I find it goes through stages like I find more consistent. We are with doing morning time. The less I get pushed back yup like with anything else you know. And it's win. We've been a little inconsistent and they've been like just going through and checking off the list and everything and then all of a sudden one morning I say. Oh we're going to do morning time today. It's like what do you mean I can't get right to my list and get done so I can go do what I WANNA do. You know right so I think it ebbs and flows and it switches from kid to kid so there are definitely some things going on and I think it's also going to be different for people who you know. Our kids have been doing morning time since they were little right and so I think there's an advantage there for us. I think it's going to be different for people who have kids who are new to morning time or they're trying to start morning time new with some older kids so we're GonNa talk about all of those things today but I think the biggest thing we need to think about is when they say they don't like morning time when we have kids. Give us pushback about horny time. There's an underlying reason sure. Yeah we have to sometimes dig to find those reasons. 'cause they aren't GonNa tell us the actual one. Oh No oh God. They never do that. Yeah it is. You have these kids just act horribly and you find out like the next day that their sex so even when they're teenagers. Yeah so exactly okay. So let's talk about a few of these different Situations that we might be running into. And why don't we start with somebody who is new to morning time? Actually you know. What can we go? Let's go down to the bottom of this list. Maybe we want to start with this fact. It's okay hey to insist that your kids do morning time. Even if they say they don't like it. Don't you agree? Yes yes it's okay to insist that your kids do the things that are good for them. Yes yeah so. It's kind of like eating your vegetables right. You would never dream of telling your kids. Look you can eat. Pop tarts all day long. You don't and I say that because I just had a pop tart but it's it's okay to tell them you know you can't do that. You have to eat some vegetables. You have to eat some other things and that's really kind of what this is like right. It's okay for us to decide what's good for our kids and expect them to show up and do that but just like eating your vegetables when it's a vegetable that I just can't face limiting the requirement helps so you have to eat three bites of salad you have to eat you know one. Asparagus spirits. Pick something that a lot of kids don't like again. It's that idea that were exposing them to the idea. And and get used to and slowly draw in And eventually my kids like asparagus. Even my salad eater eat salad a reasonable amount of salad without contemplate my one who didn't like salads so it's okay to insist and require but it's also okay to say. This is a long term project where we're going to start really really small really really small with one thing and then slowly increase because it feels like you have no time but really you have a lot of time to grow morning time. Yeah Yeah Okay so before we get into starting small and building slow though I think the analogy with the vegetables is a good one like the more you have them. Try something the more likely it is that they're going to enjoy it and it's not going to be a short term thing. I think this is one of the places where we get hung up as we try for a couple of weeks and we're getting pushback and we probably give up right before it starts getting better and notice that. Say getting better and not being perfect now. We talked so much about relationship in morning time. You have so many different things that you have to deal with with that because people just have bad days if you have eight people in your family seven people six people who are doing morning time. That's a lot of opportunity for bad days there. So you know they're going to be days where you know this person's having a bad day and it just seems like you can't get ahead and you can't win but So it may take more than a couple of weeks to push through and have this start to turn around agreed. Yeah Yeah Okay. So so far. We've established it's okay to say to your family. Look.

I know it was like we should time like not doing very well with not you know each other you know. Do you know what no that's been horrible for me. Horrible not getting the C you yes I know right. I can't even handle that But last week I think we're both really sober. We were and so tonight. We decided just to speed the process up. We would each take four shots of something. What did you have fireball? I had fire well sin fire since fire. That's the knock off fireball. Yes and I had to go. Yeah we're we're doing good. We're doing a lot better. Be careful because one can of wine is two and a half glasses of of wine like it's a half of all bottle right. Yes but I don't get that I think it's one glass. I really do I think we are a little husky. I think we do. I think we pour heavy like this half bottle is yours. This half as mine in a glass are you. Do you have to be at work tomorrow? Exactly we have a barbecue That he got five years ago for his birthday from for my sister. I it has done extremely well. "Very worried about this. He has the same routine every day. Rain or shine literally rain or shine. He drives five miles to a local park and exercises. And could he do that? And yes under the clear language of the of this as long as he keeps six feet away from everyone else at the park. And he said actually. There's nobody there That he can do that. So can you get out for recreational drive? My family does this and under the plain language of the order. No you really can't go for recreational drive a but but I don't think you're GONNA have local sheriff's offices in forcing you going. For a drive the presumption will be that you're going Somewhere to see someone and you can for example your local car wash can stay open as long as everyone stays away from each other so that business won't have to close down under the plain language so if you're taking your car out for a car wash or something like that you do it now. The other one is visitors to your house. You want to Bible study at Your House. The governor is made clear in the. Let me read you the key. Relevant language here Because there is a whole section on having visitors to your house Let's see Visitors visiting Here we go. Visitors listed shall be strictly enforced against nursing homes or other long term care facilities include inpatient hospice assisted living communities personal care homes intermediate care homes community. Living arrangements and community integration was. Now what does that actually mean If you're strictly enforcing it against nursing homes and other places meaning no visitors allowed at all. It means you're not strictly enforced against someone's household so let me read you the visitation Section of the order people required to shelter in place under any provision of this order shall not receive visitors..

Why are you even associated with them like you know what they did but you can tell your story? There's a reason why one day I was out for a jog and I went by him from their house and all of these teenage guys are sitting out front and when I saw them I immediately felt like I was telling me I needed to forgive him and I told him I said. I don't really feel like forgiving them and once again I just felt that still small voice inside saying you. You really need to forgive him and I said I got. If you'll help me I'll try my best and I continued on my run and when I got back home I felt him. Speak to me again. Said Steve if you're willing to try your best to forgive him while you go over and share with them about me and I didn't really know what else to do but I knew kids here loves soccer and so I grabbed a ball and I walked over their place and they saw and they came run out in the street and they said Hey. Can we play and I said yeah absolutely and so. We started a game in the middle of the road there. That day wasn't just something. I did one time with him but it became something I would do regularly and over time. They got to know me. They got to hear my story and even had a chance. Share them about Christ. You start building a relationship with the teenagers who stole from your who broke in and stole from Your House. I did yeah inwardly. I was hoping that maybe a relationship would keep them from robbing us again but but I also knew that God was asking me to forgive and to be able to do that. I had to get to know them. I was in Uruguay. Steve took me to a Tuesday. Evening Midweek Worship Service..

"Morning show. Yeah nate is out today he said I got a couple of sniffles. I'm GONNA stay home. I think that's the smart thing to do if I had a couple of marquee. If I had a couple of sniffles I would say hey. I'm not coming in in. Of course number one is safety. I don't WanNa get anyone sick. If God forbid. Have something that you could get in. I mean way beyond corona virus. I mean just a cold flu whatever. This is not the time to get other people sick because everyone needs to be as healthy as possible right now but also. I don't want to scare anyone. That's another thing if you go to work. And even though everyone's healthy they never ever get one little iota of a piece of sickness from you right but just you walk in through sniffling and coughing. It scares people it makes people uneasy. So there's that factor. Yeah I can't take it outside of the corona virus when I hear people coughing and sniffling and sneezing around me. I'm like get away terrible. Won't catches it all the time. I'm sorry brody catches it from me all the time. As soon as I hear him coffers sniffle brought to get away get away. He's right behind you guys. Have you have scary behind you and you have brody behind you? You guys have people behind you all the time. That's the worst well. Luckily my guy scary. He's typically very healthy. Your guy brought he up all the time I know the thing is is even though he's closer to you. He's not far away from me. What froggy. What's up? Yesterday I was walking into a restaurant and get something quick to eat and right as I was approaching the door. The person in front of me sneeze. This giant sneeze grabbed the door handle and open the door and walked in thought. Not going to go home and eat turned around. Got Back in my car. When I'm not walking through the Sneeze Hayes no way you know it's it's it's so important to remember you. You have to pay attention to every little move you make up. You know what I'm saying everything you do if you sneezing your hand. Don't grab a door handle 'cause I I could see like eight people behind you in to get out the door of a restaurant use knees put your hand on the on the door open and it closes and they're all standing there looking at each other like I'm not an opening now. I'M NOT GONNA do have to stay here and wait until someone pushes it. Open that we could leave one way when somebody sneezes around you and doesn't sneeze into their elbow or cover their sneezed. You guys hold your breath because I do. I do what I do is i. Try to envision their exhaling or whatever they sneezed is you can see it so I try to stay out of that trail. Yup and look. I know a lot of people are thinking. Well maybe you guys are all over thinking it. Maybe you're all panicking. I don't think we're in a panic at all. I think this is the way we should be living our lives all the time. It's better to be safe food. And maybe maybe if anything if this thing just goes away eventually hopefully soon if anything we've all learned a new way to live our lives and that's being a little careful a little more careful with our germs in other people's Journal what's scary. I've noticed whatever. Go Out to one of these stores. I know I saw that. There's no soap on any of the shelves or the hyper allergenic. All that stuff is all gonna liquid bacterial you all the bacteria but it leads me to believe. Wait a second so that means we weren't washing our hands all this time because the shells were always full and now all of a sudden empty so does that mean who's definitely more attention to it and people are stockpiling is well. I can't tell you how many cans of beans and how much rice I have in my house. I love engine right now on Rice. They say you need to be on the seventy two hour plan. "This. WHO's managing the front of your house so for a local business? The front of the house can mean two different things but largely it refers to having some. I'm kind of physical office. Where your prospects and customers are coming to you in a daily basis so if you think about some of the most common examples sample's doctors offices dentists offices chiropractors nail salons massage therapist? I those are some of the common examples but obviously there are lots and lots of examples restaurants places that you're getting customers on a regular basis in the front of the House is typically one of two different things one. It's it's a single person that it is in charge of the front of the House so if we look at a doctor's Office for example it's typically referred to as a receptionist so let's just digest that front of the House experience for just a second. I'm going to give you two you completely different. Examples of experiences in how one of those is going to lead to much better outcomes for you so one example is and went and visited my local doctor's office and you walk in the place. Sounds like a mortgage. Just everyone everyone is quiet and it's dingy and they've got art work on the wall but it's I mean just old stuff and pictures. Here's of the doctor. It's just. It's a traditional doctors office. You Walk in the glass that can windows that the receptionist opening close. You've got the little clipboard to sign in you sign in you have a seat. They call you up and then they go through their routine as your insurance changed. Here's your deposit you owe or your co-pay go sit down. Someone will call you. That's the front of the House and I'm sure sounds very very common to you. It's very similar at dentist's office chiropractor offices it Cetera. Now not all. The offices are exactly that same but I've been to enough different medical offices to know that that is pretty common now when I look at that type of experience I would challenge you and say it. Is that experience helping thing that particular doctor's office or medical office or not the you could say. Well it's really not helping or hurting. But depending on that receptionist that person can easily make or break the experience and sadly doctors offices alike have of a pretty notorious bad rap for not having the friendliest perceptionist people that don't seem to love their job and it just that tends to often be the case so that one person could end up putting you over the edge to decide to go to another doctor's office office like I've just had enough. There's nothing different than the doctor does. The receptionist is constantly rude. And that could put you over the edge. That could also put you over the edge to go and talk on social media about your doctor's office and say how you're not thrilled with it. That experience can literally make or break bake your perception. It could make or break your appointment. It's GonNa make or break if you decide to refer that business and that's even before you've seen the actual doctor her. The doctor might be the best thing since sliced bread and being absolutely amazing doctor. However if you're having a poor front of the house experience it could potentially tarnish things now? I'm GONNA flip that on its heels and so I went and had a completely different experience so I went. Clinton visited more of a alternative medicine. Doctors Office called Halsey Health and wellness. And they're in Texas now. One of the big differences is that it's private pay versus insurance so that that's just a little bit of an f. y. i.. However the big difference is that they have choreographed the entire experience to make sure that from the second you walk in the door to the second that you walk out that door you have the the most amazing experience possible to let me tell you how my experience went there referring to the front front of the House before I even got to see the doctor I walk in and within five seconds there is someone that's already there? They have a packet. Their only job is to greet me ask how my trip was because I flew in from buffalo to go there to see if I need anything before they take me upstairs so they're literally there to greet you with a warm friendly smile. Have everything getting ready in the see before even if you walked as earning that you need from your car. Can I assist you with anything else. Yet they take you upstairs now. You're greeted needed by somebody else. which is still the front of the house experience? That person is going to help handle your paperwork and show you how your day's going to go. They bring you some water. They're offering you coffee and tea in. It's not just here's a little K- cup. All this stuff is choreographed out and planned their anticipating your needs but they're also making sure that they spend spend just as much time and attention on the front of the House experience than they do with everything else so they've got great Bottled I don water. That's not in the plastic containers. They had fresh coffee fresh T. They didn't have since so obviously it has a lot to do with health. They weren't just going to throw a bunch of sugar in there. They had the natural sweeteners and things like that. But they've they've choreographed the entire experience out. They have made sure that that front of the House. Experience -perience is absolutely phenomenal absolutely phenomenal and that set. The tone for was a great day all the way to the end and in it everything was completely choreographed flawlessly absolutely flawlessly. So when I want you to think about today is is one of the things at the front of the House that could be hurting. The experience of your prospects and customers hurting their propensity to refer business business hurting their propensity propensity to leave five star reviews. And what I like to do. Is I want you to secret shop or send the people that have never been to your business into the front of Your House and let them tell you with no holds back how that experience was and I promise you. It's not nearly going to be as good as you expected. My dentist's office is phenomenal. Phenomenal in terms of the service but their front of the House is still lacking still lacking. It's still a stupid sign in sheet that that they've been same type of thing that's been being used for twenty years. There's coffee and tea in the waiting room but it's keurigs stuff but who's going to have a cup of coffee before they get their teeth cleaned. It just not practical. So wh what are the things that could potentially improve that front of the house breath experience stupid little things like having my name on the TV not my full name. Welcome Michael Hope. Oh don't you don't have to worry about signing in We have you preregister because they already know me been going there for years years and years and years and years so why would have to sign in. Doesn't make sense. I'd love to know. Are they running behind wind or are they running on schedule. So I know if I'm GONNA have to sit there and wait for thirty minutes will then I might go back to my current. If you phone calls choreograph out out the front of the house experience. Make sure that that is a flawless experience. And I promise you your income will start to rise. You'll get happier customers more referrals better reviews more. "So I love what I do. I do always always when people tell me what they do. What their background is? And it's very very specific like when I talked to someone who's a doctor. What kind of doctor? I'm a surgeon. Cool Hey your nurse okay. What kind of nurse I work in a Knick you I you know Emergency like how did you fall into that. So my thought what is when it comes to drug addiction and I think about social work and the different kind of work that people can do. What made you go? Okay Drug Addiction. That's that's what I want to focus on I didn't WanNa work in addiction. I come from a family of addicts. An addiction was very frustrating for me personally and spiritually to see by family family. Go through it and I got placed at an internship that did dual diagnosis which is substance abuse and mental health. And probably after after about a month and a half I learned a little bit more about addiction and instead of I guess blaming my family and my family members for what had happened. I learned what had happened into them and kind of learn more about their experience. And I- reframed it in my own experience and Katie again. We read your bio coming from background having been diagnosed with. PTSD share a little bit about what led to that. And what's going to happen since well I told you you that at twenty seven I had a stroke so and it was it was. It wasn't like a little too major and two minor all in one night and and that's tough at twenty twenty-seven and try to get back in your life and you get all the help that you can get like physically and like memory wise and that has you can get all the help. No one really help me with what had happened to me. And and it took about two years before I said I need help and so and then and it just I was just thinking of this today. I remember just saying 'cause I 'cause I have family and I like you know I'm going to reach out to them and I reached out to my husband like I want help. I'm not sure how to help you ask. Oscar family is my dad and he said Oh I know therapist. He lives like two minutes from Your House. I'm like how. How are you keeping that for me? And and the word for once we said to me well. I didn't realize you'd gone crazy. I'm like okay fine. I'm as Nutty as a bag of squirrels seriously. Give number like right now. So uh-huh so you. You found this therapist. Yes I did. I found I found The therapist And I pretty much the first time I saw him. I cried ride the entire time. And he's like yeah you need help and yeah but I kept I kept going and and it was helpful to me. There are other things that were not helpful full which I think when people go to therapy or a psychologist or a psychiatrist it takes different people to fit you the right way grunge right because I because this guy he was convinced of just like well you need to like you know you. Don't find God and find us. Unlike next I know I need something. Yes but although he wasn't marketed that way but but he was a friend of my dad but then he was but then he was able to just like okay. You're not buying the God thing. Okay let's talk about this goal. That and there was something that he actually. He really helped me with that. He didn't actually mean to just the fact again having a major stroke and and all that I mean I basically I came very close to dying and it occurred to me. I was like I came so close to die. I I can get through anything. Oh my God he's like I sure. Great Okay all right. That does bring up a secondary question. Okay and Zane. This is your first time here so consider the questions that we sent you kind of a roadmap but we go oh all over the place. My understanding is Zane. You're from the Muslim community right true. Yeah Okay Yeah because Saba Asaba Maruf connected us Lovely lovely woman. I wanted her to be on tonight as well. She's a child psychiatrist to. I used to do a show where but so so Katie was just saint. Hey you know this guy was saying. Hey you need to use any God. She was like no And so then he bypassed him just took care of the the psychological spiritual one Coming from the community that you you come from the background that you come from. Do you utilize a spiritual side to to your therapy or do you keep it purely secular. It's hard to answer When I when I meet with people I'm very clear with myself that I'm not a I'm not a religious regis I'm not any mom. I'm not a cleric and You know that sort of like somebody going to a teacher of scripture and asking them for Medicine or something like that. We're all trained in different things and we lived in very compartmentalized society you know although that can be a challenge. I think one thing that can come from from that. We can all work together to help people out so I feel no need to preach at my clients now with that being said I'm also respect and honor that when people look look at me As a therapist might see a unicorn like shoot there's listen therapists around here That we can go see you know. Maybe they'll understand Our social location a little bit better. Sometimes that's a false assumption. Therapist need to be careful not to project a reality Even if they share the same faith background onto their clients to be completely different circumstances but I can understand being like listen. I don't have to explain myself to white person who may.
