"Oh wow. So they were very, they were at high altitude. The torpedo bomber aircraft that were carrying torpedoes. They had to be low. And what we know is that in first wave, there were 48 of those. And what that is depicting is something that did happen to a degree and that is that it's depicting aircraft among the 48 in the first wave. Torpedo bomber B 5 N two Kate, torpedo bombers that were carrying the type 91 aerial torpedo. That's what that's depicting. Those were the only aircraft that would have been seen at that extremely low altitude. And the only reason that they were at that extremely low altitude was because that was necessary for them to complete the mission and deliver the ordinance. You don't see fighters doing that. There are some examples in second wave of fighters. They get pretty low on strafing missions. I mean, for that matter, there are some examples in the first wave, like there are a group of fighters, Yoshi leads a group of 9 fighters in to attack,
AJ Benza: Fame is a Bitch
AJ Voices His Concerns Over Liberal Journalists Like Yashar Ali
"Let me just say up front. Yasha Ali is a good journalist. He's a good writer, and he's made himself a very important and influential guy, especially on Twitter. You know, he's broken stories, listen, he's the guy who broke the story last year about Fox News commentator Eric boiling, sending dick pics to a female colleague or colleagues at Fox News and Fox business network. And when he filed a $50 million defamation suit against him, Yoshi stood strong, didn't blink, and he said, you know what? I'm going to stand behind the accuracy of my story. I'm going to protect my sources and fuck you. And unfortunately, and this couldn't have made yasha feel great, but what are you going to do? Boiling sun died of a drug overdose, not too long after the story broke. Even with that awful news hanging over his head, y'all sure wouldn't buckle any protected his sources on a story he knew was right, given to him by sources he trusted implicitly. That's why I sometimes say journalism is a contact sport. You Asha was always also the first guy to get on Danny Masterson's ass for allegedly being a rapist. And as we all know, now that story ended up in the way that Netflix has gotten rid of Masterson. So that's the kind of journalism I love and live for. But what I fear is happening to yashar Ali and a lot of other guys is that they're starting to only attack one side of the fucking aisle. You know, Yoshi is unequivocally a liberal. He's a gay liberal and sorry that adjective has nothing to do with how I feel about the way he lives his fucking life. I don't care. I could give a shit. But it obviously has a lot to do with what stories he decides to cover and which ones he does it. And if he says otherwise, he's full of shit.

"And then you go into 14 and it's like, okay, well, and he kept saying like, I get it. Yoshi P understands. Like I know you want these things. The long of it is that I stated that the mistake that they made was that they knew these mods were out there and they didn't work to bring those features in. So now what they're doing is they're going to look at bringing in these people. He's the game producer and director. He's also the thing is the thing is they really do need to either fix their shit or allow mods or support them. Because there's some really do you have quick launcher? I don't have any money. So I was like, all right, the contents as well. Yeah, but like something like a few buffs someone you can't see the time left on that buff like stuff like that is just a no brainer, you have to have in the UI or just support the months. I don't like this thing where there's just like the stigma or something and it's causing so FF everybody loves to talk about the community and how great it is and stuff because it's very, very heavily enforced that you can't be toxic. Take that into social media and then but those people that are the best community in the world, they are so passive aggressive you have no idea. Like they would be like they try to, I mean, at least if you're trying to be toxic, please just be upfront about it. A lot of these people just they're very passive I guess when they report for like anything dude gotcha and mods are like, that's like a big scapegoat for them now to report people on. Yeah. And so it kind of came to a head and I was like the mistake was that they didn't start adopting these tools that people are needing. This exposed me to a wide range of like awesome mods..

"People on the street about it. Do you know if pigs are grown in installed do you know anything about the industry? It's not kosher. It's not culture. I'm curious if you guys are going. You don't have to eat it. We don't have to eat it. It does not take any zero. We taught not to touch tradition. Even secular don't eat. It's a joy state. And Yoshi, even those who did know about the local pork industry seem to have a pretty odd belief about how pigs are raised here. Right. Again and again, I heard that. You raised them on dogs. Like a platform. We don't let them grow on the earth, but like a bit on something. So they are not touching, and it's a slave. It's not on the ground. It's illegal in Israel. It's on a platform. That's what I don't know. Three or four stairs above the ground because it's not allowed to race bigs on the sacred land of State of Israel..

"Sanada defeated yoshi. Hashi again in a match that has no outcome not stakes in the upper echelons of the card of the law. Be i mean Sonata look yoshi. Hashi gets in control early on here In the match until sonata hits a drop kick to the leg then hits the paradise not hits but locks yoshi hashi in the paradise lock. Why doesn't sonata. I look just why doesn't send nada like take a guy beat them up a little bit in the ring toss about to the floor following out to the floor. Put him in the paradise. Lock on the floor. Get back into the ring and wait for and for the twenty count. That's what i do. Cause regardless of who he puts into the paradise lock. No one is able to escape it unless they get a drop kick on the ass. That's the only way that they ever get out of it. So look honestly. I'm sonata and a if i'm not honestly i'm sonata but honestly i am big revealed today folks warren hazel sanada. If i'm him that's exactly. that's my tactic. Every match and my matches like last five minutes and i just dumped onto the floor. Tie up get back into the ring and you know. Pour myself a glass of liquor. While was mardi. assani tries to count to twenty. Because he's done does his best. I mean i think you know. He's he. I think he has the numbers memorized on a sheet of paper. So you wait till mardi asami counts to twenty and there you go. That's what i i should do that. You'll see how she hits a blockbuster running set out power obama's well hits the tko into the skull end the role in and out of stuff He tries to go for he sets. You'll see how she up for tko. I'm trying to say but then goes into the skull end. They role in an auto stuff and into She actually does the swan dive onto his knees. Yoshi hashi wednesday wins a strong style duel between the both of them so not at some point pops up from dragon suplex but it's a super kick which was really well. I'm not short little bursts. That was really fun. He hits the rope assisted. Tko that was a little rough little. You don't wanna use the word sloppy around sonata too much because then people get people get.

"Summer of sixteen bit so all of our episodes have been sixteen bit related in also the summer games challenge. How many games can you complete in the summer and not necessarily sixteen bitches games. You wanna finish and you were saying. It's as great because it's encouraging people to go out there. Go through their backlog. Maybe they haven't finished yet or gains. They've always wanted to and just not chase the new game. That just came out and enjoy what you have. And i think everyone's embraced that i honestly even in my case i had a mixed bag on embracing because as you know do reviews for snl and hey poor players some time and what happened as a result is that i might go. I wanna play these games. Here's a list again. I'm gonna play this game like sharp. Take our you new gate. And i'm still trying to play the game eventually. There's some rollover birdie and there's no time but with that said i still had a plant. That plan fell apart. Okay but i still managed to come out better than i expected. So i guess the best way to describe how i ended up doing on this was i was disappointed in how i did but also happily surprised by how well i take so and i'm glad that folks were coming in onto because initially like it's like there was no one really talking about it was like me and like chris murray and then mike mike myers colleague way into it with the with the classic gaming which is really fun to see. He's knocked out midnight resistance. Which is a game. Seen anyone else no me that super bowl in an amazing soundtrack on that super cool super super cool and who else was in forgetting it in that thing man rage rage cage race. I love you you love. That rage gauge was into it game. Fan forty four gotten with me. Bree got into it. People were getting down. And i love to see like i know. I'm not the best at keeping up with all the chatter and stuff. But i can honestly say that what i would see like people in that group. I just beat this list again. I'm like oh my god. You be scraped. Did you think of it. What did you think of it and believe it or not. Unexpected love popped up from two different people. The game forger apparently mentioned it like yeah maybe ten ten episodes or so ago and i know at least one started playing it specifically because the mentioning on the show. I'm not sure if the other person did too. But i thought it was here. People like i started playing forger. This game is crack. I'm like i know like it's a quicker. Like i know as a clicker. Like i didn't even expect to be one but by the time i realized that it was too late i was hooked and it works but on oh i just i really get a kick out of it because i mean i was gonna say this to the end of the episode was worth stating now. We do a show about video game music and that's fantastic love. Vga am it's pry one of the biggest aspects of like my general life like as far as like entertainment and gush about over. But we can't forget. And i feel like in a lot of ways within this community. We do forget that video game. Music is composed for video games and the video game. Experience is a large part of what makes the video game track. What it actually is like. It's one thing to say if i were to come on here and go. Here's this track from this game like this sounds good plus another thing if i say this detract from this game now. Here's what it was like. His i played. It was the same for people who would listen to it if they've played a game. We're picking tracks room it resonates with them a lot more immediate specifically because of its interesting when we play music on this podcast. We are definitely if you're just listening to the music which i do ninety nine percent of the time for this show And so like no shade. Anybody out there resort just enjoying the music but it is especially during the on the sixteen bit era in either in the nineties and early two thousands because it was just composed ended in a different way. disassociating The the the media the game play element from the the music And you're right. The music was composed. It's like you can enjoy a soundtrack to movie on. its own. yes but it was written in the context of drama and action and comedy All these other elements visual elements that are going on the game. Music is the same way music. I chose is a little different today. Also i should clarify hold. That thought that. Even though i said what i said. I'm in the same boat as raw businesses that there's no disparity for folks. Listen to me. Oh sure sure yeah. I mean. I'm in the same boat because we laid on the table. We don't have enough time in the frigging world to play. A fraction of the game. Had a rolling out males alone in the past in the library of the history of games itself. That are that are amazing. I i'm just never going to get through or have that shared history that shared nostalgia of that history with everybody else and as a result. That shouldn't mean that that music has to languish back into with gay that we all have. Yeah but it's just a matter of saying you can do but if you can't just jay great yes so i do listen to a lot of just straight music for the show where i'm like okay. We're doing this topic. We're getting into this. And i feel a little bit behind you and so will meet two topics of the anime topics. I was like great. This is perfect. Because i must listen to soundtracks and it's not you're going to be like oh i remember this game. I played this game three or you look to your brain. So it's like we're finally on the same putting yes okay. So we're going to listen to music from games completed in the summer because originally it was going to be gazed that we completed the summer. Well mike challenge. Was i think so many and then it changed to just finishing persona five in the summer of twenty twenty one. It's given by already halfway through start it months ago. I've realized this isn't going to happen. So i need to finish percent of five before twenty twenty two and i am going to talk about. I'm starting this. Episodes is even even numbered episode. I'm gonna talk about the games. I did play a lot of these. I did finish but for some reason. I didn't count. Because what i fell in love with was the capcom arcade stadium on the ps four. So you're not gonna bunch of those games out. I mean if. I wasn't knocked them out completely. I was playing the heck out of them. And this is some classic. Arcade capcom music. So we're getting into some like super jazzy prague. He like fake synthesizer. Guitar is some really good music. So that's why. I'm getting into so i'm gonna talk about this stuff like that whole time building up to this. I've been like what is rob. Choose trespass originally. I was like he's going to pick tracks gonna he's gonna beat persona five personify but then you didn't finish what is house today. I've already done that. And i was like i was gonna play around with. Maybe i'll just play games. That i intended to play games that i've been wanting to but i feel like i've already done that in the past so dietrich games that i've actually played when when in my mind i should have been playing five. Feels like work. So i'm like no. It's not tetris again. Screw all that. I'm gonna play tetris and then ddr here all right. So i track is gonna come from the game powered gear strategic variant armor equipment. This is a japanese only arcade game. And what a name. I think stephanie is only had a spinoff fighting game using the same similar sprites and stuff. It's really cool giant mecca. Robots in it wasn't it wasn't no tech romantic because that wasn't on the Because the fighting game is included in thing. Okay i just never got into it. I was just having fun with the beat. Him up. sounds like this is. This is awesome so powered gear for the arcade composed by the capcom. Sound team alph. Leyla credited as anati tok upon. And there's like fifty people on this team so we don't know who compose what on the official soundtrack. We're going to listen to the track. Starry ocean.

"You're largely on. You're basically just east of odessa. North and south of odessa end. You have four major counties and you have eleven rigs running right now so you are. You guys are very active right now and have been you've been ramping up activity and increasing basically since the bottom of the trough in july of last year that is cracked so we have we actually call our core six in our website yours about six counties that we operate very actively in that. We're very focused on in terms of development and we do have a lot of rigs running. Were also much growing company. So you may see on arlington web page or linked inside that. We're always looking for people to join our talented team as far as the activity. So that's just giving you some inside onto with you. Want to join our team. Go or it we do have openings. That are available as far as the activity goes. We're definitely ramping up activity. We're definitely trying new things in terms of how we can optimize development and how we can really make the make the most out of what we have our well i saw. I did see that you had job posting on your website. I'm always looking for some perfect part. Time role for chief economist. I didn't see that pop up but when that does i'll be sure to apply you guys have an interesting posting. You had those completion engineer. So that's the job postings. I know the digital captured has been putting out information on companies have job postings so i definitely would recommend an iowa's recommend on private companies to end actually just meeting yoshi i would say it's worth a shot because you guys are you know you guys are private and you're growing company and you know i have talked about on the podcast before about this. You know the bifurcation in different differences in the business in terms of public and private operators and truthfully. I think that you have an immense amount of flexibility as a private company. I mean i. It's not that we're going to get into the weeds on anything proprietary and talking about your completion designs or anything but i think just in general as private companies given you know the regulatory burdens and given just the everything that's happened over the course relief. Twenty two twenty twenty and twenty twenty one as a private company. Just have a lot more flexibility in terms of how you one respond to prices and how you move around and also i think hugely a potential regulatory concerns for sec filings and everything. It's just not something. That's there for private company. And therefore you guys are able to focus as i'm saying you guys. In particular private companies general are able to focus more operations And i think we see that coming out in the data. When you see the splits you know in the re. The recount isn't yet dominated in the permian by privates. But it's getting there. And i would say when you do look at completions and wall starts it. It is coming. Those wall starts are looking pretty with private operators in public operators and to me that's saying a lot and that's momentum shift toward private operators which also is big in terms of you know shift in house service companies and stuff work with you and you guys seem to have your own service entities. So that's a whole of very cool thing and makes it makes it probably work well with your company but it just is a from a from a market dynamic. I think it's very fascinating. And i don't think that trend is going away anytime soon. I really appreciate all that. Yes we are growing vertically integrated and as you've mentioned we've been very fortunate to have a very nimble team and a very talented team that's worked extremely hard. Hit the results that we're seeing today that you probably see in data so i am. It's very. it's a very.

I know that folks are probably very interested in endeavour because endeavor is a private company but we have a lot of different things really touch base on this five guests. Endeavor is just sort of one of them so yoshi without further. Do thank you so much trish. I wanna make a slight adjustment. It's endeavor energy resources and energy services is another facet of our company. You buy i just wanna make sure that this is a corporate one. So i worked for a never energy resources. As tricia mentioned i work as he seeing reservoir in junior have been there about three years or might pass lives i worked for an organization called university lands so for those of you may not know university lands. It's about two point one million acres and one point four million that are leased out to about two hundred eighty operators and there's billions of dollars worth of revenues that goes to the ut and taxonomy systems so is a reservoir production engineer there. And i also worked for devon energy as a production engineer out in midland texas graduated from the university of texas in twenty fifteen with my bachelors in petroleum engineering. You're the reason why we're in my orange. And then i got my masters at texas ena university and twenty twenty in challenging as well. That's a little bit about myself. That's awesome no. That's great and i saw that. I saw that on your lincoln pro but To the audience at the so at the at the sba technical workshop this was on unconventional completions and I believe it was unconventional completions and really was on wellborn stimulation and and the spacing wells and it was a. We're gonna sort of i wanted to have. You have yoshi on the podcasts. So we could sort of recap us to a degree because there was a lot talked about any it. It is very technical In some stuff. I understood to a significant degree and other stuff is very very much in the weeds on and i'm not an engineer by training so i was probably the no only non engineer. I'm guessing in that in that room folks but it was a very good workshop and yoshi just sorta crushed it And she asked extremely good questions and was just on the market. Every speaker had excellent questions and then she and then she actually close it and was the was like the last speaker on the last day And did an excellent job. So i just wanted. I was extremely impressed and was very eager to have her on the podcast so and really fortunate that she agreed to actually join the podcasts. While i really appreciate it all the comments. There's been a lot of great content that was covered in the p workshop. That were all going to talk about today. So i'm looking forward to that almer station. Yeah so i think firstly. And i did say i think i had endeavor energy services on the brain because wanna slipping through the website. I realize that there is a service aside in my brain just just stuck on the yes so endeavor energy resources and just to give an over. I mean you guys have three hundred fifty thousand net acres in the permian basin..

I was like cannot relate undertake frantically making twenty eight pieces of our twenty three yes amazing. Well yoshi this has been absolutely fucking delightful. I am so excited that we got to speak with you talk about tear of the vine the moon i am not star. Fire setanta and the house of secrets. Which i didn't say but is so cute. Thank you it's so bouncy and bubbly and instill you know lots of layers of emotion and whatnot. I just really really loved it so had had to add that in here at the end. Yeah oh i guess. I guess that's the thing. If i could put out into the universe i would love to make a clarion comic. Especially i did an initial drawing with him. Where his outfit. He was wearing a skirt and i was like this is what i want. I want around wearing a skirt. And i want to draw this comic. So it's going to put that out into the universe that's going to put that out into the universe. Yeah that's what the world needs. I'd ordered the willow trade paperback pretty Sarah did you have other questions for yoshi. Yeah i guess. I just have one more question. Which is i mean. We just talked about all of the very cool things that you've done. Is there something that you haven't had a chance to do that. You would like to do in the future. I guess like More clothing lines want to work on that some more. I ran a kickstarter to make a embroidered bomber jacket. A cool as fuck bomber jacket. Thank you want to just do more of that. So those are one of those things that i really hope convention start again because around that kickstarter and i got the items like middle pandemic. So it's been really hard to just be like. Hey guys. I got these jackets. That are really cool. You can wear them in your house So i hope to have convention soon so that people can actually see them. Irl and then also would like to wear them. Ira l and i just wanna make some more jackets and some more like t shirts and some more like various clothing. Just like stuff like that love to keep doing that. That is so cool. I wish i had one of those bomber jackets. I'm half a lick it up. But i hadn't seen it but that's just a testament to how much really cool stuff you've done is is that i missed. I completely missed the bomber jacket. I know sometimes. Sometimes they'll have a portfolio day on twitter and they say in four images. Show stuff that you're working on. I'm like well okay. So i got this tarot dag. I got this comic book jackets. Think about next time. I'm reading that story. i'm gonna go right one. That's so good might not sold done. Yeah i can't remember which author i read that particular breakdown from because i know i read. I read a lot of books on like mythology like not just elections but also like people who are analyzing them anyway. Well good job. Whatever author that you change my life so you're very bored all the time. It seems because you're also over at revolt. You're over there in a cover artist in residence and you just released back. In april the interlocking witch blood covers for issue. Once through issues one through five and a they. Look hella cool but also what was that process like and do you like the. I'm guessing you do but a cover artist in residence and and you tell us what's coming down the pike for you have that was really cool because vaulted asked me to do a couple of like covers for them before for And yeah and then they asked me to do a cover for which blood so i did a cover for them and then they were like. Hey be really awesome. If you could be part of our leg cover artist residency program. Like eight of us. Don't quote me on that number but like we're all doing a whole bunch of variant covers for the various lines and it's really cool because they get to have a cover artist who does variants for every single issue of like various line. So i'm doing the ones for a witch blood ambu flame and third series that has yet to be announced. Yeah that's really awesome just because like i've done variant covers before four like image or variety. W but this is like the first time that i was really allowed to do a whole set..

I just love stories mrs so hopeful and so beautiful i mean like i think it's a great leg way to kind of bring that back to is also like the way you interpret each of these stories especially some of these like older ones there are just so many variations and variants on them. It's kind of which ones have been recorded which ones have been allowed to be passed on like. There are a lot of queer stories that just basically didn't make it past the church you know like even in japan there. Is these ideas that some of these stories had queen ever origins but then there was like during one of their revolutions. They kinda did a large persian. Ever mind we don't do the queer stuff none of that anymore and so again what has been allowed to be kind of passed on but also like what can use sort of read between the lines. It'd be like this. This seems mighty suspicious. I mean one of my favorites definitely is like anki doing gilgamesh which is the two of cups in my dad but That one it's like here's this guy who is two-thirds god and he's just fucking his like kingdom constantly like he's doing premadasa he's like. Oh yeah you can get married. But i fuck you i. And he's just like everyone was like. Oh my god. We're so exhausted because he has so much sexual energy and the gods are like cool. We're going to make anki do who will be has Gilgamesh is perfect match every single way and then they meet up and they wrestle for like three days and three nights and gilgamesh barely wins. And he's like wow. You're so awesome. We're going to be besties. And then he never sleeps with anyone else ever again. And then there was like passages later where like anthony wakes up in the middle of the night from a nightmare and gilgamesh. Like are you okay..

"I'll help her out on this quest anyway like i said it's just like i was like this is the coolest yes i mean like. I said it's just it was so impactful and i can't emphasize that enough Being like this is the coolest stuff. And like i think it also kind of like redefined for me. What comics could be like who they could be written for. you know. they're also like. I remember liking girl which was like it's all about her parents. Remarrying this other couple and like her falling in love with like their son happens to be also in high school. It's like very drama but like super low key. I'm like this is great. Just like you can just have stories where it's just these two people in school and they just got flowers around them all the time. This great i love this always curious for artists like. Can you see the influences on your art when you look at it like. Can you tell where has influenced you or not or or any other really for that matter. Yes say absolutely. I think these pages have been released but we're talking about the i'm not star. Fire that one. That was marie go. It does have a love interest story in it so it is about like the main character and kind of her relationship with this other girl and i was like this is great because every time the girls shows up in the book just throw show joe flowers behind her kinda. Give that vision of like. Here's our main character just like looking at this girl like us. She's so cute. Like i can't even Which i wait and cannot wait. Oh my gosh. I am not certified. It looks door will yes. I just wanted to put as much like gay panic as possible into it. yeah. I love that idea. I think that's one of those special things about comics is that you can sort of like slip through someone's perspective and you know some comics like whenever deadpool it's like this is often deadpool's pov guys like you can't trust any of this don't you. Don't trust that rule of you know but then you go. Oh black widow. Whoever and i think that that's so fun that we get to see through. And i cannot remember her name. What is the daughter's name it's mandy. But yes she loved the we slide into herve is and get to see like how she looks at this other girl that like my heart is so warm at that i mean like i said i really wanna draw mandy looking at clare and just having that kind of like oh god. She's so cute. No i mean. I don't i don't i cur is fine. I don't is cool. We're cool just kind of capture after that vibe and feelings especially because like you know..

Like as a ton comic and You know we have like the writer for we have like the initial script. So if you're interested yeah this'll be a great fit. I'm like yes. Please thank you so Yeah no i like. I love the. She's so cool is like she can really hold her own personality. And i will say that. I myself am a sucker for any character that has even with of a trickster type of in themselves i will also say the like upon greater reflection. I'm like because like tricksters just like innately bisexual or pan sexual. So wake just also so. There's so much there. Yeah so. I was really happy to be able to work tana. Yeah like she's just so cool and then one of the things that was nice to was. Dc came up and they said that these graphic novels are almost like alternate universes of these characters so for the young adult line and for their little grin. There with those ones like. Oh yeah you know they should hearken back to the characters and they should make people we've never heard of these characters before interested in them but also it doesn't have to have like any greater reflection upon the larger universe like none of this is particularly cannon which makes it so much better because there's like unlimited possibilities don't have to worry about like messing anything up because it's like its own kind of bubble universe where you're just getting people interested in the character and being like why should you love the tana like usually love her 'cause she's ostlund amazing so yeah i was gonna say to. The american tamaki has done a bunch of books like irately ask The being super super girl series. That was so so. Go ahead and then harley quinn breaking laws and then of course you all worked on..

"And there'd be like kind of lull convention psycho be like oh you want me to. I can do quick reading for you. And i have done readings for people where they are uncomfortable at how it is and i felt like i had to stop doing that. So sorry to be here on the convention floor and telling you that you have unresolved issues with your family. I'm just gonna never mind. Haven't i say pack this up. I was gonna ask Rachel pollick of the writer of the post grant morrison doom patrol on and she has written a bunch of books about terro- and has incorporated into her work and of course that volume of doom patrol has a bunch of tarot references in the conversation that we had with her she was talking about how she discovered tarot alongside all of these other kind of life. Revelations it was her coming out having connections with her queer nece and then being like. And also i'm into tara now that's like my saying so. I was curious whenever you did. Get into tarot. Did you have anything else where you were. It was corresponding to other events. In your life that made it extra meaningful for you or Was it just something that you just kind of picked up along the way I guess it's just something that like. Terrorism has always been kind of. In my periphery that. I've always kind of been interested in like i said for me. It was just just one day finally have in the epitome of being like. These are two things that i really love. Of course it makes sense to combine them that just it really worked. I mean also like. I said i've been interested in tara for lake leeson's like middle school like a really long time but i had a. I had a really hard time remembering any of the meetings to the cards. Just like i could not do. The rote memorization was another reason. I tried to dissect the symbolism of each of these cards. I thought that if i can understand the symbolism it would help me better with the cards but again a lot of the symbolism kind of that's like rote memorization. I'm not familiar with hebrew script and like all the ins and outs of meaning that and of course that helps you. Understanding the writer waite tarot. Anyway it's like. I said it's a lot of layers and it was stuff that was really hard for me but for me again. Being able to combine tarot cards meanings with fables in mythology was a lot easier for me. Because i can remember the story and kind of the ins and outs on the nuances of a story. You know and also. I think it's interesting. Because if a tarot card you know like has nuance. It should have some multifaceted meanings to it. You should be able to look at it in the context of one reading and it has one meaning and then when it's next to another credit has a different meaning in any given day should have kind of a different reflection. And so the way i think about it is the tara the divine you kind of think. About what part of the story is relevant to you at that given time again with the full combined that with the little mermaid. And so when you get the reading are you thinking about. Is this a little mermaid. Has she gotten her legs yet. Has she met the prince like issue turning into sea foam. Do not believe in that version of the story because again bettas also like even the author himself hans christian andersen key debated like the ending because there are a couple different endings to lower mermaid there and then of course there's the disney version and then of course. There are many many many modern day variance..

"And for me having something that is familiar to all portions of me. Even being multiracial was really important to me. And just something that like. I really connected with So yeah i guess like just like one day. I was kinda puttering around trying again to make a tarot deck nice only realized that the kind of themes and concepts that appear in tarot are the same beans and concept's that appear in mythology and folklore which obviously makes sense because you know the tarot deck is supposed to be about the human experience in seventy eight images and mythology is about human experience in. You know these kind of grander terms. Yeah and so. I started kind of matching up stories and a lot of them just clicked super easily. And doesn't it was. Like wow. I guess i should just keep doing this and Yes seventy eight cards later. I had it was great Yeah and so. And then kind of like a more mundane sense had these images. And i had these cards and then i got a protest by a publisher to make the teradata but then also make beneath the moon. Which is the collection of all seventy eight stories so as nice this way for people who aren't interested in tarot they can just get the book was we'll have like you know the stories in the are working. Get into that or is your into tarot you can get the tarot deck too and yeah and then the last thing for me again. That was really important is like is again. Like keep saying. I mixed raise and there isn't a lot of work out. There that celebrates people being mixed race. It's hard to experience being mixed race in a way that celebrates every component of you a lot of times in the world. I'm sort of like. I'm supposed to prioritize which side is more important like a which side people want to hear about more which is like a doesn't do justice to the the full experience in portion of me on and see. I just wanted to really make a tarot deck because also many cards have like equal weight and importance. It feels really nice to be able to hold like two different cards from two different cultures..

What The Cherry Blossom Bloom Can Tell Us About Climate Change
"Canopies of pink and white flowers are blanketing washington. Dc right now. After the city's cherry trees hit full bloom last week. Dc's first cherry trees were gift from japan and the city of kyoto. The cherry trees bloomed even earlier. In fact kyoto's peak. Bloom was the earliest on record. For twelve hundred years following pattern of earlier and earlier blooms since the eighteen hundreds when a cherry blossoms can reflect climate change. A pattern of early blooms can indicate warming springtime temperatures. But it's complicated the intellectual. Climate change is indisputable. I think however the decisive factor for the j. blossoms is the winter temperature now. Go obey is a journalist and author of the sacre obsession. She says cherry trees need a full month of cold temperatures in order to properly blossom when it gets warmer. If they don't get the chilly weather for a month then they blossom later because they can't make up trouble so while early blooms caused by warm springs are troubling delayed. Blooms may also be the result of warming winters and the south of japan has already seen delayed blooms in recent years in southern japan. The rinta isn't cold enough for long enough on so the muslims are coming out later as much as by a week as winter. Temperatures continue to rise obey says. The delays may grow to the point. Where trees don't blossom at all. The trees in dc's tidal basin. Are yoshino cherries. That variety also makes up about seventy percent of all the cherry trees in japan. Yoshi knows are easy to propagate they begin blossoming after only five years and they gained popularity in japan in the nineteen th century while other cherry species were forgotten and went extinct.

Could be worse you know. I totally agree I. I've definitely benefited of being like more alone with my thoughts figuring things out. What have you been? Occupying your time with. Besides like. We even talk about that. So I have been kind of doing nothing for a longest time in the beginning I really took it as a vacation and did nothing just WORKED MYSELF RESTED PLAY VIDEO GAMES Nice the last couple maybe last month I started getting into 'cause I used to have a youtube channel and content creation, but I never really understood the technical side of it. Oh I've kind of taken it upon myself to learn and I've started. Content creating again and how I'm doing that is through. Twitch I've been streaming on twitch for the past month now. Yeah I saw that I saw that on I think facebook where you're sharing your your upcoming schedule I I am dabbling in twitch myself but I'm still a total new. I will try to help you out with every little bit knowledge that I have but my it's not much. Out On me then that's probably a lot more I. Mean you learn this is what I learned from Tiktok right? Because I was very late to the game rob you just learn so much just by doing it, right? Yes. Absolutely. Getting on the platform. Okay. So what do you do on twitch because I hiked you up in the Intro, we get to know your background you've do stunts and you're an actor, and it's all these amazing things. But like bring us up to speed of like what what, what makes you you and what what kind of stuff are you putting out there? Well, I'm I'm still kind of figuring it out but. I love video games and I play video games all the time. So I figured I might as well stream it, but I didn't want to just stream any game I wanted to like find a way to make the stream enjoyable. Okay. Streaming Games is one thing. The other thing that I'm doing is that I'm I only did once so far but I'm doing kind of what you're doing is bringing you know my friends to come into the stream and kind of talk about themselves you know to have platform for them to. Show what they're doing what's What is it What projects they're doing, what they're excited about and what? Past projects they've done. So I did one last week with Chris Gye at Rj Alex. Is a good friend of mine old friend. And he? He's an acquaintance like we work together a lot. You know when you're doing stunts with each other, you're constantly like seeing each other but only from one side of it. So when I got to bring him on I learned a lot from him talking to the chat. So because you're going deeper into who he is in his background and stuff or like his yeah. Inner thoughts. Exactly. So it's a lot of calls on song in the drink while we can. That's so good. Are you just talking or you playing games and talking and Boba so were talking for the first hour in we hop into a game it just so happened that he was a voice of a game. So we played the game that he was the voice on and it just happened to be a horror game and I don't do well with Horror Games no, I would hate that. I didn't like it. But I'm sure the audience then 'cause you're like actually having a genuine reaction. Is freaking out. Well Okay 'cause gaming is crazy because they I mean because of technology everything is so real. Now it's not like it's not like cartoony stuff. Oh, this way I don't want to even go there because I, I would legit get. Probably from that like. I couldn't sleep well night. I mean, I, love the audiences everything but oh yeah, exactly. But. It's just been. It's been great because. As you know my wife is pregnant so Yeah congratulations. Thank you. Yeah. It's our first kid. We weren't expecting to for it to happen. So quickly, you know, but it was perfect timing usually amount of the country you know half the year whatever. But because of COVID. I've been able to be home for her throughout the pregnancy. Blessings blessings everywhere. There's always I. Mean. I. I like everybody else have been going through it. It's not like just it's there are blessings and and that's not the entirety of it but there's always something to be grateful for and I'm really happy that I mean I'm so like over you guys are the sweets which y you have like Yoshi can we know her story and we're here to talk about love and we will get up to speed with this because you guys are such a beautiful beautiful couple and I'm just so glad that in the middle of all of this madness, you guys have that to celebrate his as such a precious thing to be able to experience together.

Monocle 24: The Briefing
Japan's Prime Minister resigns for health reasons
"It is a week or so since Japan's longest-serving, Prime Minister Shinzo are announced that he would be standing down for health reasons that discreet interval having elapsed those who fancy succeeding him as leader of the Liberal Democratic Party and therefore Prime Minister of beginning to make themselves known among the first out of the traps is Yoshi suger currently chief cabinet secretary already seen as the favorite the former foreign, Minister Fumio Kishida and former. Defense. Minister Shapiro she but also like their chances, the decision is due on. September. Fourteenth joining me with more is molecules Tokyo bureau chief. Your New Wilson. Fiona is this the one horse race that some are already calling it? Yes, I'm afraid I think it is amazing. Things have happening over the last couple of days in Japan you're right there are three key people standing but really the LDP party, the party executives have swung into action and pretty much. So not the race for Soga to win it's going to be very difficult for him to lose the L. TPS. Famously, it's got these factions seven factions and it seems that saga although he only just a matter of hours go announced. His candidacy seems he's already secured. Five of the seven factions. Votes can be quite hard to beat him and yesterday that was an amazing meeting of the Executive Council of the Party and they decided not to bother with the votes from the rank and file, which really sent a clear signal because among the rank and file issue the former defense minister, he's the top choice. He's also the top choice with the public. He pulls much higher than Sukkur and clearly the party Did Not want him to win. So the in a way it's been rigged actually the vote and it's very good news for Soga and not for anyone else standing on that point though if Ishiba is the more popular candidate among the actual Japanese Public Roy is he not seen as more of a contender by the Party grandees? It's interesting. He's been relentless critic of Shinzo Bay and that's one him. No friends he he just does not have enough support within the party and it's a sort of a grudge I suppose you could say he stood against. A couple of times in two, thousand and twelve he stood against obey. He actually won the first round when it was, you know down to the rank and file he won. He lost in the second round when it came down to the the members of the politicians. So he's he's seen as trouble he's criticized throughout he you know I in a natural way he's got plenty to say about what's going on within his own party. He's he's being critical of our based diplomacy. He thinks it's to US centric he he feels that the stimulus packages that she has set the ABA. Policies that he's feels not sustainable in the long term and he's voiced very openly. So he's one no friends within the policy leaders and I think now it's unfortunately for him. It's coming home to roost. So if we are going to have to get used to the idea of your Shahida, suge as the next prime minister of Japan, do we understand yet what sort of prime minister he intends to be? Basically, who is he? Yeah, it's an interesting one I mean. People outside Japan wet name much about him although he's been obeys right hand man throughout since two thousand twelve he's he's the public face of the government. He's the top spokesperson. He's there every day at the press conferences batting off critism of Shinto. Ebbe. There are questions about unfortunate scandals, how how Abbas dealing with the pandemic. It's been super who's dealt with all that. So he is a very, very well known face here. He's. He's sometimes referred to his uncle ray were not not particularly affectionately, but he was the man who revealed the name of the new Japanese era when there's new. The new era begins and we are now in the era of war and he was the man who revealed that on television. So he's sort of got this nickname, but there's not a lot. He's revealed about himself personally in seventy one. Well, when when he came on today his press conference, he pretty much announced exactly what kind of prime minster he'll be, which is continuity Abba he said he'll be dealing with coronavirus. He'll continue with up a NOMEX and he'll continue Abbas diplomatic policy which is based on the US Japan. Alliance and I think that's where he differed from issue who was trying to do the exact opposite really saying. Issue has been saying we need more friends in south. East Asia not so US centric, he doesn't fancy what they call the golf diplomacy the great bromance between trump and pay, which is much spoken of. Not. Sure. How much trump considered it although he did he did tweets that he considered to be Japan's greatest prime minister which prompted much hilarity on twitter to see if anyone could ask trump who was his second greatest pick suspecting that he probably couldn't name and other Japanese prime minister so that that really he's continuity and for some people about important but it seems the public were they wanted a bit of change maybe not a complete revolution. They've maybe would have liked to fresh face, but it looks like it's going to be so good and it's a very short election campaign really starts in the seventh ends on the fourteenth with the Prime Minister being appointed on the sixteenth seventeenth in a special session just finally, and briefly owner is it politically viable for the Liberal Democratic Party just to install him as prime minister and let him crack on there won't be any talk of early general election or anything. There isn't at the moment, but there has to be a general election by next Autumn Anyway twenty, twenty one. This is so. It would be pretty remarkable if he were to come in and immediately call a general election. So I think not. But there are some very dissenting voices I notice the Asahi Shimbun, huge center-left newspaper second-biggest paper. In Japan, remember the circulations are enormous and described this whole process of how suit of being shoehorned into the role as bleak and pathetic. So it's not like There is across the board support for is going to have a bit of a battle with the public. He hasn't actually put a foot wrong so far he said very little. He only announced his candidacy tonight so. We'll see how it turns out but at the moment, it looks like it's going to be business as usual. If, you're on a Wilson in Tokyo Bureau. Nintendo Release Gaps and the Nintendo Gigaleak
"Hello and welcome to Nintendo voice chat I'd Jen's Nintendo podcast this week the week of July thirtieth. Today, we'll be talking about the huge release gasoline intendo bestselling games. The NINTENDO GIG leak ends a lot more I'm your host and this week I'm joined by Friday Tato. Guy Is here to join the show. Perfect. Let's he delivering today. something I might be able to show next week actually. Okay. Cool. Awesome. Okay to do that, build it. Now, I'm thinking of what it could be. A spoiler and I'm also joined today by pair. Snyder. And Zach Ryan. Hello I didn't see their. Her. How many chapters to get through your book while waiting for me together Brooke Myers retired who was supposedly. So yeah, that's true too I. Don't know how to read it. Did you get to the part where the skeleton is link yes. Very. Can, be time. Ns. Skeleton. Mr. Historic Also, have skeletons Brian I. Not. Christ. Disagree agree to disagree that's fine we can agree to disagree. But you can't agree on is that there's nothing coming out for the rest of the year from Nintendo at least as far as we now. Agree on that. Disagree. Last week we got a mini direct, but we still don't know anything that is coming from Nintendo specifically for the rest of this year pair went ahead and put together a really awesome lists. You might of seen it if you follow his twitter about. that. We haven't seen in wild that might be coming I. Say my I mean, this is super speculative. We really don't know but I thought it'd be interesting to go over this list of games to see how many years it's been since we've gotten a new installment of games. Probably. Doesn't say that we're the ones. It's been the longest since we've seen but maybe Now see that's what I was trying to get a I was trying to figure out. All right. Is there a certain cadence and I haven't done this in the past to look at whether there's a certain cadence when intendo renews these Games they there is right Nintendo in order to keep keep the franchises going they. They send life signs out but that doesn't necessarily mean a new installment in May, mean a character inclusion in smash or you know like putting NFC or track in Nintendo land stuff like that. So I don't I don't know how helpful it is to to actually predict what is going to come out and what will come out because like at first I was like. The Games that sell the most are the games that Nintendo puts on a schedule to be renewed at least every four years, and then you go while hold on his animal crossing sold forty million or something at the series, and we have to wait eight years eight years animals. New Leaf right right. But they did have a mobile released. So you know they kind of unhappy designer everyone loved happy. Home Design. Side. So happy home designer. Dave count. Twenty thirteen. They count in the way that they're both animal crossing products. That's definitely fall under the same umbrella. Look. Do. You want to talk about the ones that haven't been renewed in a long time or you know maybe our guest is like I. Think Everybody here has the list in front of them but like our guesses what we think will be revisited next. Yes. Yes, let let's really quickly recap in the last five years. We've gotten paper. Mario Animal. Crossing we've gotten to poke them on like we always get new pok months, Yoshi Lewis Mansion, fire emblem, and some of these like had big gaps. It had been kind of a year since we had another Louisi- mansion it had been. There all been short, really short gaps between these games like Mario and Zelda and Mario Party like they're not long gaps within the games that we haven't seen in the past ten years. They always have really long gaps. It seems. Yeah, I mean the nets Roy yeah. There's a lot of metro happening though you know there was there was a brief period there with with prime. Prime two prime three. Metro Fusion Metro Observer Mission. The Ball Three D. S. and. There's a lot of metro I feel like in a very short timeframe, and then now it's just been forever since we've seen a metro. A new one right we got Simmons returns overseas so. We're looking at kind of they are shortening the gap between with remakes and that's what happened with link's awakening obviously to right we got link's awakening to take the spot in between you know the mixed breath of the wild, the last one, and certainly that happened with metro to with Simas returns and the other game that shall not be named.
Looking Back at the Nissan GT-R
"Arthur to GTRI's reign as the king of Drew Bay had had ended with one of the most controversial finishes in Australian Touring Car Championship history. The following rule changes heavily favored home favourite manufacturers. There's Holden and Ford over the Japanese Nissan but instead of giving up completely the GT our team. Regrouped and refocused. Would you say that they were trying to get. That's how we're going to do it. Got The team was now led by Kozo Watanabe. And is that the any relation to watanabe wheels. No idea so sorry. I'M GONNA look it up later. And Frankly James there. It wasn't a better man for the job Remember that Japanese Grand Prix back in the sixties where I mean the whole reason. This car exist okay. Well a young a young Kozo was at the very first one and saw the old prince cars get defeated by the British and Italian race cars. It was almost by destiny that he lied the. Gt Our team. The team wanted to address two main performance criteria number one understeer. That's when you know you turn your wheel and get a straight. Yeah you don't turn as well so you think it's the opposite of drifting. Exactly and to stiffness. I really wish we had that soundboard money in regards to the second. You know there's like spring thing. Yeah on the wall like that would be as ever Canaan and through the magic of technology awesome in regards to the second part. Art The stiffness engineer and test driver hero Yoshi Kato welded brace bars underneath the car. While testing an art thirty three prototype at the nurburgring to stiffen the car up. He's like the shit sucks. It's time to get her done. Get the thirty. Three's wheelbase was four inches longer. An an inch wider than the previous JEN. The bodywork was much smoother to Looking down downright slippery in comparison to the thirty two's boxy appearance. And so I mean you look at them next to each other. It's definitely a bigger car I I'd say that the R thirty three like when I think of GT ours. Obviously I think are thirty two or thirty three thirty four which we'll talk about later? The are thirty. Three I think is a little bit of the black sheep of the family and it's like a true middle child. Yeah absolutely I like when you said when I think of the GTRI. I'd never think of the are thirty three although it's one of the cool cars in the fast and furious and it's also one of the fastest. Gtri will will get into that and they're legal to import to the United States this year too. That's it's awesome. I know It turns out that this longer wheelbase was a great addition. The are thirty three was more stable at high speed and the reworked aerodynamics reduced lift in the Front by nearly half which greatly increased the grip which helped that understeer and like. I've driven Jesse's car couple times. And you drove your buddies Audi Audi of and s four like you're like yeah all wheel drive great. It's great but then we have it easy like get it. It's because you you get the oversteer from the rear wheels but then you feel this poll from their front and so fun more drive all wheel cars. The more that I get to like it becomes apparent that that's like the best settlement. It's the best way to power the G. R. had a redesigned all wheel drive system. That could better split the torque between all four wheels which saw the understood problem as well. The rear wheel steering system was also upgraded with electric Servoz instead of hydraulic pollick which could be adjusted on the fly faster and more accurately than the hold hydraulic high. Caste system. A lot of people think that the thirty three is face. Lifted Arthur to but as as we've learned not the case not the case what an IB signs team used the art. Thirty G ARTHUR TO GT are formula but improved on it in every way all said and done the thirty three was twenty seconds faster than the R thirty two round the nurburgring which is insane at seven minutes and fifty nine seconds making it the first production car to officially break into the sevens.
