New York Giants Confirm Saquon Barkley Tore ACL, Out For The Season

"There are terrible injuries all over the NFL yesterday alone. Nick. Bosa. From the niners Saquon Barkley from the giants both suffered torn ACL statistics show that through two weeks nfl record twice as many significant injuries as last year. It's actually at least six players suffered a torn acl including just recently Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin Eleven, injuries to starters in the one o'clock games alone John Do you think these injuries have something to do with the fact that there were no preseason games. Well. For example, the Rams don't play any of their starters in preseason games I think is in the spirit of your question i. think it has something to do with no camp no real camp they kind of shotgun training camp and I don't know how you could make the opposite argument that it has nothing to do with it. I wouldn't tied to preseason games what I would do it to the fact that there was very little tackling. Yes in. The game started and the other thing is I know Kyle Shanahan the niners felt like the field wasn't ready like the field I think he played in the meadowlands and he's got play there again next week because he played the jets and now he's GonNa, play the giants. Players on both teams going down. So I don't necessarily think that the facilities were one hundred percent prepared either I think again, I think the spirit of your question is the fact that they fast tracked everything and started the season. Because of Covid is that having any do with the injuries I don't know how you could say it doesn't I think it has to yeah. I mean I I completely agree I mean between training camp and preseason games where guys at least get a sense for what they get a reminder of what getting hit is like. I think they're I think they would be better off. It is an extraordinary number of injuries and none worse than Christian McCaffrey who's gone for four to six weeks and his the stalwart of my fantasy team just loyal to John Ireland how about? Yeah. I cleaned your clock thinking Matt Ryan. But. How about how about Saquon out for the year? Yeah. Entirely out for the year Bosa gone for the with a tornado. And that means that the giants I. It might be a race between the giants and the jets who the worst team football is. The whole new. York City area has to just garbage football teams because the jets are a mess and now the giants have no running game. So it's going to have it's going to have after-effects. All these

Long time giant Hunter. Pence called it a career today, retiring after 14 seasons, A's play a double header today against the Seattle Mariners. Game one coming up in less than a half hour more in sports with Steve Baker, the 40 Niners remain slight favorites to be the New York Giants Sunday back on the artificial turf in MetLife Stadium, where the Niners beat the Jets last Sunday but lost the turf war. Had 14.5 sacks and 14 and 12 more in 17 before a shoulder injury cost him 14 games the last two seasons, apparently healthy now, and Shanahan loves him, calls him a hell of a player. He's a hell of a player who crushed pastoring play the run well, so hopefully get in. Get him in here soon and get him caught up and we're going to try to do it anyways. But they're just has definitely gone over some dangerous repent for hours. Answers started practicing with the Niners on Wednesday after passing the Koven 19 testing process. Breaking Down the New York Giants Initial Practice Squad

"Other thing going on with the giants roster is the shaping of their practice squad. We're not gonNA project who we think is going to be on the practice squad because as were recording it, we should receive some type of news by the end of the day Sunday, who is on the practice squad for some reason? You probably noticing this to the giants have been taking their time. To the fullest extreme to put in all this information, their fifty three man roster I think was announced. Ten or fifteen minutes after the required four o'clock deadline. Meanwhile, every other team had already gotten their stuff in before that chalk that up to Dave gettleman and Joe Judge trying to take their time in re be very detailed with it. They also this is official that we already talked about some of the claims but they have claimed offense tackle Jackson, Barton, wide receiver, Damian Rally, and then also safety Adrian Colbert they could either end up on the roster or be pushed to the practice squad. But the one thing that's worth noting and we're GONNA talk about the practice once official on another episode but it's worth noting that this season the practice squad is very. Very unique. It's bigger than it typically is and teams are going to be using it as a shuffling group that if someone gets sick, they can send them home quickly, sign them to come play right away they're gonNA travel. I would bet with most of if not all of these guys and have the bill availability to sign them immediately in the case of an emergency yet honestly to for me, that's kind of a step closer to what the practice squad should be anyway I I've never really liked the practice squad the way it has been where it's limited the guys who can be on it are very limited in the amount experience they can have and. They're really not protected at all. So any team can basically swipe a player off any other teams practice squad on very little notice. and. To me I I really do like these changes to the practice squad rules. The fact that it's bigger that the teams can keep more players around they don't have quite the same constraints on. Experience that we've seen in years past and the fact that they can promote guys from the practice squad to the active roster on basically ninety minutes notice. So I really like the flexibility that that gives teams and I'm sure we're going to be seeing teams take advantage of that this year probably in ways that the NFL isn't exactly planning on. And I wouldn't be surprised if there are certain aspects of this short-term practice squad for this season that are maybe tried to be translated into next year or come next CBS negotiation asked for by the players. So more players can stick around and be retained by their various teams it. It is a lot better like you said, Chris compared to way the way. That they've done it previously, it's better to have more guys if you can carry as many guys as they are allowed to this

"Nick Foles helped deliver you a Super Bowl. Take solace. Be happy. Enjoy the fact that you knocked off Tom Brady. I can tell you. I was thrilled about it. I think there were a lot of folks here in the United States of America. There were plenty of NFL fans who were thrilled. And what Nick Foles did. I certainly wass One of my favorite times of my life. Shot us to my cousin Trevor. We had a good old time watching that game. Now the Eagles they're taking on the Bangles. Things have been pretty damn ugly for them. Things have been ugly for Carson Wentz. And we know they plan the NFC East and in the words of Kevin Garnett Anything is possible. You know, the Dallas Cowboys at this point in time looked like a crap shoot every single year. The NFC East is like a crapshoot. I don't expect anything out of The Washington football team. I don't expect anything out of the New York Giants, the Eagles will still have a little bit of hope. If the Dallas Cowboys can't do what we expect them to do light it up. They got a little bit of a gift this past week against the Falcons. We'll talk about the bump Falcons in a minute. But Carson Wentz He's tied for the most interceptions so far this season. He has for guess who he's tied with. Some guy named Kirk Cousins will talk about curtain a second. Carson wants he ranked 29th and completion percentage. He's completing 58% of his passes. He's 32nd and yards per attempt six yards per attempt. What the hell is that? Him and Kirk cousins. They think they're kind of like best friends. Right now. They're in the toilet when it comes to quarterback rating..

"Some serious a serious whole at both spots for this giants roster without both of them. This is not like the cody core injury where we talked about the impact that has on special teams someone can always step up and possibly have a similar level style of play. This case here, Chris this is very, very significant for this giants roster. Again, that is why we are here to talk about this on a bit of an unexpected note. Yet definitely, a I would say, especially the executor mckinney injury but you know Ryan Conley who you mentioned along with David Mayo he has been sitting out quite a bit lately as well. So this is the giants potentially lost two starters here in one day of practice, and that's never a good side. So here's the information we have right now. mckinney fractured the fifth metatarsal on his left foot We don't know exactly what the injury is, but that is where Jones fractures usually happen and those are kind of scary injuries for a skill position player a guy who needs to be quick on his feet an agile. He will be having surgery this afternoon at the hospital for special surgery and the surveys being done by a foot specialist. We do not know the official timetable when he will be back but right now it's expected that he will miss two to three months or the other number I've seen is ten weeks, which is about the same so. There is the possibility for a late-season return from four mckinney, but it's also possible just depending on how heels whether or not he has any sub any set-backs. That he could be gone for the season right now we just don't know we'll know more after the surgery. Then there's David Mayo, he toured the meniscus in his left knee he will be having surgery tomorrow we do not yet have a timetable on him. So that's kind of where we are right now. Right we're still getting all the information we're trying to. You have all those details on what happened exactly when. I mean my we're still waiting for some of the information, just a little bit of it, but we're also not gonNA know how long these guys are going to be out for we don't know their full timetable sometimes, the recovery might sound shorter and I might end up taking them an extra month or few weeks conversely, they could say, Oh, it's GonNa, take three months. It could take less than that ten week. Window you possibly put out there Chris. Once he actually gets the surgery that is going to be a better understanding of where he is in progress from there we'll know if you'll be able to get back on the field this season so far mckinney I'd like to just address I. He was considered to be the giants starting free safety if not a rotational piece just used in the secondary because of his versatility. Now the way that I look at it Chris is it is pretty much going to be Julian love at free safety, opening up the door for some other guys to step in and play like driven. Ask Henry maybe even nate abner working some way into the rotation if they need him to play a little bit more free safety than strong safety but the safety group is very, very short changed at the moment. It is, and this is a blow to a to a giant secondary, which has already which was already thin. You know the giants lost the Andre Baker Sam beal opted out losing a guy like mckinney who they were counting on to play to where a lot of different hats to play a lot of different roles. Be. A very significant piece in this defensive secondary and really defensive scheme in general yet, that is a big blow in a blow. That's can be felt in a number of places you know we. Don't have any answers right now but we have to ask what will this do the defensive scheme if they were planning on running like a base nickle package and? Make full use of mckinney's. Bertha. To Mix match looks to send blitzes that sort of thing that's out of the window right now. Right. Now, Patrick Graham has to be kind of scrambling going through his contingency plans. Nagai's to step up and right now I think Julian love is the guy there's going to be a lot put on him right now. And then there's also the loss of David, Mayo Mention Nate Edna if he has to play more. Defense loss of male will impact him as well. Simply because Mayo is also an important special teams player. That's why the giants got him to begin with because of his special teams play. So that will impact that unit as well. Now, that could be opportunity for somebody like maybe Carter Coughlin or campground to step up. We'll just have to see. Yet I was GONNA get to David Mayo next in. That is also a bit of a tricky situation because right now on the depth chart on our lads, he is listed as the strong are sort of the starting strong inside linebacker for this giants team ahead of Ryan, Connell that then would essentially shift up connolly and I would argue that would open the window for one of these more versatile linebackers who can play a couple positions like Carter. Kaufman even though he's listed as Sam Becker, to make this roster also put someone like take crowder even though he's Listed as the at the. Inside linebacker spot to maybe get pushed over just to fill out the depth and then TJ Brunson also gets a little bit I would bet a boost in playing time in this upcoming scrimmage. Luckily, not compared to the the issues that safety the linebacker deal is luckily they have drafted a ton of guys and I don't think they're going to go out of their way to go bring in a linebacker right now but they're probably going to do something to bring in a safety with his export the expanded. Injury Reserve for this upcoming season because of all the issues with cove it, they're going to need to bring somebody in just for the meantime for this upcoming started the season for a few months but linebacker I'm not as worried because of how many linebackers they drafted, how many guys that could slide into that spot move around and be that that other inside linebacker next to Blake Martinez yet, and I think the other guy kind of out there that we've had our eye on for a while is Logan riot he isn't a safety so that won't help the giants safety depth, but he is a very good. Well, he's a very good slot corner and he has ability as an outside corner. So, if the giants are maybe looking could maybe looked to make a similar transition with darnay homes or grant Haley that they did with Julian love last year, they could look at Logan Ryan maybe to. The. The coverage part of their secondary the cornerback physician to make up for the loss to their safety position. So it's not going to be easy trying to fill in spots for these two guys there's going to be some roster movements. We could only presume there is going to be some interesting movements for this upcoming scrimmage will provide our reaction our thoughts on that scrimmage this upcoming Monday. Will also be able to provide some updates on on any of this stuff. If we have any news to report on that are related to these two major injuries, but so you can stay up to date with everything going on with mckinney and Mayo in any possible signings. Make sure you go to big blue view dot.

OBJ: 'The blond is back' and new attitude, too

"Newton Noto Beckham Jr had their own red table talk early on Tuesday. No Jada Pinkett Noble Smith. But that doesn't mean that both of these two were not going to say something that got people's attention. They both used the word humble but coining the context of tired of being humble. Cam Newton said that about replacing Tom Brady, the elephant in the room with the doing the Patriots and Noto Beckham Jr soak office hat and said the blonde is back and said he is tired of being humble. He is tired of playing that game. I don't know if we're going to Jada Pinkett joining them at any time soon, But Cam knew no Dahlbeck. Um do you have there red table talk, and it got plenty of attention, Especially way they use the word humble and the way they wanted to use it being tied of being that way to satisfy others. When it comes to playing football. I don't know if you can hear my eyes rolling in the back of my head right now, But when I saw that first I'm not going to be nice anymore. I saw that I thought was that broke version of LeBron's thing with a shop like that's what I saw, if if anybody wants to do Parody of this, with Victor Cruz leading the conversation, and you've got Odell Beckham looking smug, and it's weird jacket he's wearing Todd Gurley looking like he doesn't know what's going on one side of the table in Cannes, sitting with a cigar in these in these glasses of wine all over the table in the decanter, I mean, It was well done. I'll give him that Odo back him and his production company put this thing together. It was very well. I will say it was great to hear them. Talk about black lives matter Movement and what Corona virus That's very honest things to say about Corona virus and kind of the fear that a lot of people have of playing the season. The athletes at the center of this They are the product. They're the ones who make owners millions and billions of dollars every year yet I think that we missed the mark. Sometimes these were not necessarily considering all the health and safety protocols. Ah, when it comes to them, But so that's the stuff that I actually could get down with. But when the word humble was thrown around, I felt like you know, I needed Kendrick Lamar to come in and just kind of like, walk that back a little bit, because when you talk about the blonde is back and this that and the other thing with Odell Beckham have we not been hearing some version of the same thing for the last 3 to 4 years, Freddie Even before he went to Cleveland. I mean, it's every single season is new Year new Me New Year new Me But silence the haters. Got a You know, everybody wants to be labeled. We want to label something in society because we don't know what it is. And I'm tired of being labeled. Oh, my goodness. I'm tired of hearing this is every single year Put up or shut up, bro. I can't handle it anymore. By the corner. Cronin, Finn Fitzsimmons of Freddie Coleman on Friday and Fitzsimmons and ESPN radio. I said it's for the longest time and every time he does or says something like this without a Beckham Jr It further further confirms my suspicions. He still wants to be in New York. He doesn't want to be in Cleveland. Yeah, he'll say all the right things about the organization. But if he had his way, he still be a New York giant playing in the biggest city in the world when it comes to New York because his personality fits more in New York than it does in Cleveland. He doesn't realize that if he just goes out there because to me, he has way too much talent. So have that kind of mouth promising and making those false promises would come without backup Jr. I'm with you. I don't want to hear about humility I don't want to hear about the blind is back in. All of the nonsense stopped talking about it Be about it because you had that kind of ability and talent. But I still wonder I don't want any more. He confirms it every time Courtney Every time he opens his mouth. It tells me each and every time That he still wants to be in the biggest city in the world. Whether the New York Giants or in New York jet, Cleveland does not fit the personality to me in the mind of Odo Beckham Jr so and you're putting that out there. To me. It seems like he's laying the groundwork that if eyeball out in Cleveland, I want to go somewhere else where I believe my personality is going to fit that city and clear as a great sports city. Put it back on. Gina's realized that if he bawls out in Cleveland and leads into the playoffs and end of a deep run in the play offs, he could go anywhere representing him in a Cleveland Browns, but because he doesn't leave his personality Is suited for Cleveland. He keeps putting stuff out there time and time again to let everybody know I'm a celebrity, and I'm too much of a celebrity for the city that I'm playing it now because I did not want to be traded away from the city where I started my NFL career in the first place, and it's like we've seen the story play out. I said again and again, I mean, think about some of the distractions and think about what happened this offseason with him handing out cash Tol issue players of the national championship and You know, slapping the police officer on the Mac side in Superdome, and you know all of these things. It's like he was quiet for a little bit. And there were some trade rumors before that. I mean, like it or not, there was talks behind the scenes about him trying to get out of Cleveland. I have Pete. You know, sources that I've spoken with people close the situation. I know that it's been debunked allegedly at this point, but at one point that was actually in the works being talked about. It didn't just come out of thin air, so I mean I understand where he's at right now in wanting to wipe the sleep this late, clean because, you know, by his standards, you know he didn't you know, he still was 1000 yard receiving season last year, but he wasn't where he wanted to be. I think that he had different expectations for what his first year Cleveland could have looked like. But you know, the blonde is back. Does that mean that the celebrity and all of the distractions come with it to be as you'll remember? You know that last season in New York in 2018 there were a lot of distractions. There was an interview with Little Wayne where he was talking about his quarterback and essentially throwing him under the bus that created a lot of distractions in the locker room. So I mean, is that coming with it? If you're talking about the blonde is back, because, sadly, we know that this is one of the most talented wide receivers to ever play the game. But beyond that, you know, the blonde has kind of been the demise for him.

"If the giants want to beat the Eagles both times you go right on ahead and you do that that that would that would be a good thing. So you know before before you let me go, R., J., the one thing I do have to say is. I still can't believe. The giants let Tom Landry getaway to coach cowboys for all those years. I still can't believe that you re. Do you realize that the giants a? It may not register for you, but the giants had Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry. The same status is same staff. and. And let them both get away. Now I mean, it's It's wild when you think about you know where things like that started like you could look at a lot of teams like that. You could look at bill chicks, Brown's like maybe not the same way, but certainly in an interesting way at least when Nick Sabin, and and all those assistance that would go on to be general managers and office figures and whatnot tough, but you know we've. We've returned the favor. Edham Jason Garrett's back. You know all is restored. And that! You know. It's funny because you would ask me about. Sort of guys that were cowboys who are now giants that that fan base kind of had to get used to ride. That's my final question and and. And I think to be honest with you. The one that comes to mind is Jason Garrett. because. People when when the giants fired, Patch Shurmur You know Jason Garrett had through his people, or whatever, before the cowboys said even fired him had made it known that the giants would be on his list if If. If the cowboys, which we all knew the cowboys. We're GONNA let him go No, I mean but the. The common reaction was. Not Jason Garrett not to scare. Anybody but Jason, Garrett. Please got anybody but Jason Garrett for sure so so so so now that he's the offensive coordinator. People have had to come to terms with. Well. I guess he was okay as an offensive coordinator. I guess it's okay that they hired him. As long as he's not. The head coach I guess that's all right. So it's like you've gotta come to terms with that one. I had stuff so that was I. I asked her that question. When I sent this to you was in like you said it was a cowboys player that had become a giant that you had kind of you know well. We've always liked this guy type thing and. After I sent it I thought you know there really hasn't been that much crossover like that much cross pollination. View Chris canty everything walls. Minna few, but but nobody who I would have said you know. Emmett Smith didn't come to the right. Now set didn't come to. The giants I- Craig. Morton got traded to the giants, but but do do we really. Do we really need to go there? That's what I'm saying like. There's there's not of a huge name like that in your. Chris Candy was tough. especially you know, or for cowboys, fans watching it and you know when a ring and everything but so for me. The Way I am choosing to answer that is more just giants players that I I think the cowboys fans could not stand when they were giants, and then moved on elsewhere, and they just became general nfl fans of and there are two that come to. To Mind, one is very recent in Oda Beckham June. When he got traded, there were a lot of cowboys. Fans that you know had long recognized his talent that have said finally. I get to root for him. You know what I mean the other, the other one is Jeremy shockey. I loved Jeremy Shockey and then you know once you left the giants. It was like okay I can be all in now. You know and it was. It was a bit liberating in that sense. It's it's funny Jeremy shockey is a guy. Giants fans loved Jeremy shockey. Until, they did. On until his last year, or maybe two with the giants, because you know what happened to Schalke, tremendous talent electric personality. Guy Could do things at at tight end. That were incredible at the time. But. But what happened with Jeremy Shockey? Was that his personality? Got In the way of Eli Manning's development. Because because he would complain that the ball wasn't coming to him enough, and and he was vocal about play calls. Critical of of of Tom Coughlin and and all of those things in in. Unfortunately, he wore out his welcome and I think people were glad to see him. Go on a kind of unfortunate, because at one time, he wasn't incredibly popular player. Sometimes that happens I honestly on the subject of tight ends, I thought the cowboy you hated. The most is going to be Jason Widen just because. I still hate Jason Witten I. Don't know where he is I. Don't know what what's his forty time now about about eight point five, but you know, but but I will I will guarantee you that he could still catch. "To get him the ball, one way or the other? He was able to make those contested grabs pick up a big yardage plays because he had such good hands, and not only inability just to make catches, but to be able to make spectacular ones, unrealistic plays, diving grabs, and the fact that he did it weaken not weakening week out, but he did it more than once. Yeah it was. About three years, it seemed like you know. People would tune in just to see what kind of catch Odell would make every week. and. I think it is easy to concentrate on his athletic ability. His speed his agility explosiveness. But I think what really did allow him to shatter record books as a rookie as a sophomore. Was the fact that he came into the League as a Polish professional and he also had those athletic abilities. To really allow him to do pretty much whatever he wanted on the field. He was basically impossible to cover one on one. We saw him very early in his career. Just absolutely. Richard Sherman when he was at really the height of his ability with the Seattle seahawks. And to see a player that young. Come in with that level of ability and it. It's not like one. Randy Moss came into the NFL where he was just. Bigger longer faster than everyone else. Odell was. You know he had yet modest sized for a wide receiver. He's not a big guy. He's fast and explosive, but really not any more so than a lot of other receivers or defensive backs for that matter is just that he was able to combine everything he put it all together. Massive catch radius sticky hands. Explosive athleticism. Absolute precision route running and It just. All worked and there wasn't anything. Defenses could realistically do to stop him when he set his mind on getting open. Always open and then whenever he had the opportunity to was making crazy grabs. Because of his hands, and and just the overall technician quality ability that he had justifiably I think you've made sense why the giants made him the highest paid receiver at the time. However, he is now a Cleveland Brown, and no longer with the giants, but. That is going to be it for our show here today. Where we talked about video.

"Still on the board so Chris like I said. I don't think either of us were really expecting Andrew Thomas. It seems like all this work we did and we put in here. We were talking and saying it's going to be Isaiah Simmons. It's going to be worse. It's going to be wills maybe MCI Beck and I feel like we never dawned on us to talk about Andrew Thomas but apparently all this time Thomas was their number one guy and they liked worse. But Thomas just trumped everything out of all. They looked like they were trying to make a trade and they were they were going down to the final seconds there on the clock but ended up. Going with Andrew Thomson surprised us a little bit. Yeah from what we heard and what the smoke signals seem to be as the giants were trying to work a trade. Their preferred move was to trade back amass a little bit more draft capital. We kind of heard that they were working trying to work something out with the Carolina Panthers as well as the Jacksonville Jaguars. That was a little bit earlier. Rumor there was some truth to that but turns out. The trae didn't happen so the giants went with Andrew. Thomas and I think the reason we We kept drifting off of him is he is the safest of the top four tackles. He has the highest floor. He doesn't quite have the ceiling of the other is. But he's played both sides. He's played well at both sides. His feet are good enough. He's got really long arms yup over thirty six inch arms which is kind of ridiculous and you know we do know. Dave gettleman loves him. Some long armed is yet he has. He has a good ability in the run game. He can pass protect. Well does have some things to clean up particularly against particularly fast or particularly powerful pass rushers but he has a nice high floor. He doesn't have the ceiling of wharfs or becton but he's a much safer pick than those guys which considering where the giants are really shouldn't be that much of surprise they went with the Safe Guy. Interesting to look at Andrew Thomas and who is prospect? You talk about that arm. Lengthy six five three thirteen thirty six in eighth INCH ARMS. Ten and a fourth inch hands really. Just a big bodied guy is in terms of the prototypical traits. You want in an offensive. Tackle is the extreme of that in less. You're talking about MCI. Becton he has one of the the largest dimensions for an offensive tackle at the NFL. Combine is forty. Time was not really that jaw dropping but for a tackle doesn't really mean that much five to two twenty one bench reps pretty good for long arms like that. Thirty and a half inch vertical. A hundred and six inches on the broad jump seven point five eight three cone in the short shuttle. I thought was pretty good for six six. So very technically sound guy. Though you you talked about some of the stuff that he really brings to the table is just very technically sound and he can step in and start right away. I think that we're things Kinda get a little bit mixed up here. Is that if you have nate? Solder as you're likely and confirmed left tackle. Can we assume that Andrew Thomas will just easily make that transition to right? Because that's not always the case we look at least new with wills or worse. We were getting a right tackle with the giants. But but Andrew Thomas can you really make that prediction that he's GonNa just seamlessly slide on over to right tackle? Yeah he has played right tackle before he started as right tackle as a freshman and he did play well then but that was also a couple of years ago and yet the off season. This year is just weird. We don't have. The giants are starting their virtual off season. We don't know when and how the players will get to work with coaches what camp will look like. So do you move him over to right tackle or do you leave him at left? Tackle a position that is at least more immediately familiar. That might have a little bit shorter learning curve for him but then also ask nate solder to transition over to right tackle. So that question in of itself why I was kind of leaning towards wills or wirth's just because you could slot them in at right tackle right away. They don't have to learn or relearn any different techniques or basically. Do the mirror switch from left to right with their hands and feet. That's the giants are going to have to figure out. Fortunately Thomas is a he is experienced. He does have good technique coming out and really he's going to need it. 'cause wallet draft was going on. I went through and looked at the giants schedule coming up. And Thomas GonNa go through a trial by fire. The giants are going to face. A lot of good pass rushers. They're eight separate teams with double digit sack producers nine individual wt sack producers that are going to face and a total of three hundred and fifty four and a half sacks last year. We're GONNA find out right away if Andrew Thomas is the real deal and I think if you consider what we talked about this whole time during the off season the pick makes sense We were not predicting this we. He wasn't even a guy that we really thought was in the conversation. I talked about earlier in the show. But if you consider everything that we talked about early on during or actually not early on recently with the issues with Cova nineteen incur virus and the limitations that the NFL had to put down on themselves and not allowing the ability to host prospects and go to produce it makes sense why they went with Andrew. Thomas you talked about him. Being the safer pick he seems like the safer guy in the cleanest guy on tape. And you don't really have to worry about in potentially not translating as cleanly he doesn't have the highest ceiling out of the group but he can step in and start to easiest out of out of the other tackles that were drafted in the first round. So if you think about it in that sense that we talked about how. This year's draft is going to be a lot more based on film rather than the workouts and he wasn't the workout warrior like Tristan wharfs and MCI BECTON. But he did end up having the best tape. And that was what the evaluation came down to and Dave gettleman even said that. He said that they're relying a lot more on tape than they typically are so it ends up coming down to that. That's why Andrew Thomas ended up becoming the guy so round two is going to be coming around tomorrow for us to see what direction they'll be going in. Is that when they decide to go with defense in pick up? Some playmakers in some weapons. There's a lot of really talented guys still left on the board before we talk about them. We're getting a very short commercial break. Surprisingly there's a ton of players still left on the board for the giants to select at thirty six overall depending on if they trade back or up or if they stay in that spot or not. There's a lot of guys that we talked about his first round players that we were praying that fell to the giants now. Cesar release was one of those guys that we were hoping fell to the giants. He is no longer on the board. However there's a lot of really good options that you you've put out here for US Chris. Yeah you know when we did our consensus big board. We got some five five. I won't say criticisms at least questions about how many I or I slash second round fringe first round grades. We gave out Wind up with thirty five total but now you can see why. We gave out so many first round grades. This is just a remarkably deep draft particularly at the offensive tackle wide receiver positions. Really we are getting into the meat of the draft there. There is going to be so much valuable available in the second and third rounds if we say. The giants have addressed the offensive side of the ball. Now they're now they go to the defense got Gross maddow's out of Penn State Defensive End Zach bond linebacker slash edge out of Wisconsin Grant Dell a safety at Lsu Jeremy Chin safety out of southern Illinois also Doug still on the on. The Board Xavier mckinney still on the board Antoine Winfield still on the board. Atf AN ESA is still on the board. There are a bunch of really good defensive players just sitting there and at least one of them is going to be available when the giants pick assuming they don't move also giants could double dipping. Get another offensive Lineman cushenberry. The third is on the Board Matt. Hennessy is on the board them. Got Again the receivers. Levinsky Chenault is still there out of Colorado Got Denzel mims out of Baylor Michael Pittman out of USC if the giants WanNa add speed K. J. Hamblur out of Penn state and I haven't even gone over my head with the board open yet. That's just off the top of my head. Also t higgins. Is there at Clemson? The the number of really good receivers still available is pretty impressive. Now the question is can the giants afford to wait on those receivers for the third round the end of the third round? Could they move back and possibly get the high third round pick? They are missing that they used to trade for Leonard Williams by looking at our board. You can see even if they moved back a little bit. There are going to be good players available if they stay right where they are. You talked about all of these defensive players and that's really catches my eyes. Gross MOTTOS WOULD FILL. Anita's an edge. Rusher Zach Bond. Is the one that we're really going to be eyeing here for. A potential option for them coming around the bend here in the second second round. If he's still available at thirty six I think the giants would be a static to to select Zach Bonner guy that they probably graded as a first rounder and has positional versatility and could fit. Well with what the giants need. They need a guy that has that past experience but then could use him as an off ball outside linebacker in this new multiple four three scheme that they're going to be coming up with Patrick Graham. So there's plenty of options for them to go with to go defense in the second round and then do they clean themselves up with taking a center like Matt Hennessy. In the third order they go receiver. There're a lot of options for them to go here and honestly taking Andrew Thomas Fills. That need is the first time in a while that they've spent a high draft pick on an offensive. Lineman. And now we're in a position for the giants to still take a really really talented. Yeah this is a very deep draft class at a number of positions and they can still go out there and take someone that is going to come in and step in and likely start in contribute at.

"Just look for the podcast feed on on all apple devices than and whatnot. But I've got that going on and then My wife side of town and so it's just me and the Bayer boy puppy this this fine Saturday. So we're going to watch the a fight later on Saturday night pretty pumped about that But before then GonNa get some errands done and whatnot. You know First Saturday in a while. We need to do some errands. You know how it is but Help your Saturday's going. Great wanted to make sure you had some cowboys talk going on in your life Friday was a fairly. You know everything going on in the world of sports these days has to do with Major League Baseball and the Houston Astros and whatnot. So things have kinda quieted down across the NFL. Which is crazy considering the conference championships tomorrow but the cowboys had had to sort of a bit of news items happen on Friday afternoon slash evening the first one I I don't WanNa make it sound like it's not a big deal but I it? It's not as big of a deal. It's the second one Adam Henry officially as official as it can get without Mike McCarthy officially officially announcing that Adam Henry hired hired as the cowboys wide receivers coach cowboys obviously moved on from Sanjay Lal as we talked about Adam. Henry has familiarity with Odell Beckham junior to a great degree. WHO's in the news for a lot of reasons? We'll just leave it at that obviously worked with Odell with the New York. Giants has worked with Odell and Jarvis Landry both with the Cleveland browns rounds in back at Lsu and so Adam Henry has some familiarity working with some elite receivers in you know. Obviously he's got Michael Gallup and we'll see what happens with the Mario Cooper Randall. COBB and whatnot. What not but I think we all expect Amari to be back and hope Randall. COBB is back so ultimately good news. Good news get new coaches everything getting ready getting going. It's almost senior bowl time so I'll have some fun. Draft related things to get into his next week. Sort of rolls along. Remember by the way that not this coming coming Monday but the following Monday I forget what day that is. I'm going to look that up literally Wa recording because that's how I roll the twenty seventh From the twenty seven th which is Monday through the thirty first which is Friday. I'LL BE RADIO ROW in Miami with espy nation with Jeanette Thomas and Pete Sweeney depending on what happens with the Kansas City chiefs. Pete runs our Kansas City chiefs site at espionage aero had pride WE'LL BE ON RADIO ROW IF HE SOMEHOW MISSED IT. We've been talking about it. Just kind of you know going to be recording podcast with tons of guests Having Fun getting a bunch of interviews and whatnot so we'll post the ones that make sense here on the beat to beat podcast feed will post them all. Throughout all of our estimation podcast feeds. It's an all over the network just depending who the guest is but I. We're not exactly sure how I'll definitely find a hub at divorced worst case scenario it just so you're aware and I'll remind you again. Is the days get closer. I'll tweet out every interview. So hypothetically we interviewed. I don't know Victor Cruz right officer. That might not make a lot of sense to use a cowboys fan. But I'll tweet it out you know and if you WANNA listen you can check that out. smick follow me on twitter and instagram. I'll get all the links and everything there at our Geo show on both so that will be fun. But Victor Cruz played for the New York. Giants and I promise I did not set that up on purpose. It was completely accidental. The New York giants are unimportant topic right now. Because on Friday evening as I finished up the blitz on ESPN San Antonio it was reported by ESPN. I Jason Garrett is the new offensive coordinator for the New York giants. That's right Jason Garrett the former former Dallas cowboys head coach. It's now the offensive coordinator for their division rivals. The New York giants He is said to be Joe. Judge I your head coach. First Time head coach judges set to be his his new offensive coordinator in the Big Apple. And there's a lot to this. You know honestly this is fascinating fascinating fascinating for a number of reasons I think look. I think we should all hope that Jason Gert succeeds right and I know that you're going to say no I don't want to succeed these division division rival etc.. Jason gets a great guy and an awesome person and I hope you find success at everything he does in life. He certainly gave being the cowboys head coach. His all and ultimately things did not materialize. But those two games a year are going to be fascinating and you know this is just another link between the cowboys and giants obviously Two franchises franchises very much connected over. Its tenure in Dallas both as the offensive coordinator which he wants more and as head coach in I I mean this is just. It's crazy Joe. Judge Look he's a younger head. Coach is under forty years old. Jason Garrett's obviously had a lot of experience of being an NFL head coach. So it makes sense kind of you know we talked opt about you. Know how Charles Robinson reported that. He talked about himself when he was on the show. You know how had the cowboys gone in a direction where they had hired say Lincoln Riley instead of Mike McCarthy in might have made sense to pair him with a season to defensive coordinator. You know somebody who'd been there who done who'd soon. Who knows what being head coaches like and Jason Gareth kind of that for Joe? Judge judge granted judge not as young as a hypothetical like Lincoln Riley. Or whatever. This is fascinating I tell you what because the giants they have a lot of interesting offense of pieces. He says a lot of young pieces Daniel Jones. Who is maybe the most Jason Garrett quarterback there is SAQUON Barkley goes without saying sterling. Shepard Dairy Slayton of core four seven. Ingram I mean. There's a lot to like on that giants offense in Jason. I mean I don. I know that everyone's GonNa Laugh. But if Jason Garrett can make the the giants offense legitimate or a leader however far you want to go in this hypothetical blogging boys might burn down. I mean if if you know let let's let's say you know let's be random and say that Jason Gertz giants beat the cowboys like fifty one seven or something that will be that might end. I mean you know what I'm saying to and we when we I wrote about this for bt and one of our top common said you know be careful what you wish for because you just got it and everybody buddy is laughing and getting their jokes often saying you know all this is going to be awesome. Jason Great is going to be predictable is going to be stale etc.. The giants are going to suck. I mean just watch out now you know and for what it's worth. I was trying to think about this and as far as my memory is concerned I believe the last time Jason gearhead a hand in play calling was two thousand and thirteen maybe two thousand twelve and when you consider that we're in the year two thousand twenty that's pretty crazy. I mean in two thousand thirteen. It was kind of Bill Callahan. Running the show in that department and then the transition Scotland a hint sort of took over in two thousand fourteen. That's when everybody was in love with Lenihan and And then obviously when when that sort of fell apart a year ago The cowboys moved on to Kellen Moore. And so it's been a while. I mean you know so. Many people have talked about that. It had for so long. been a mystery as to what Jason Garrett did on Game Day you just never knew in so it will be interesting to watch him. Coordinate offense call plays presumably. That's what he's going to do with the G.. Men and I mean I'm sure you're familiar. But Jason Garrett has a history with the giants played for for them just like you did. The cowboys obviously has ties the Newark area. He was a member of the giants in the early two thousands and I mean so. He's kind of back home home in some ways I mean obviously the cowboys are true. Home but He's not unfamiliar with the giants. And you know if you have seen an EPA Jason You know that he has said the Dallas football cowboys you know multiple times. I mean that's that's the giants thing right there. The New York football giants. And so it's it's GonNa be very interesting to see how this unfolds at the very least we're in for quite the show quite the level of entertainment so WHO KNOWS BUT I? I do think it's worth mentioning Here on the PODCAST Joe Judge obviously is the New York giants head coach and end The New York giants released some comments from Joe Judge in the aftermath of naming. Jason Curtis is offensive coordinator so this is from their official website. The official missile teams website. I've known I'm reading this word for word. I tweeted this exact screen-grabbed at if you want to go check it out on my twitter I've known about Jason for a long time not only through the general public as well known as he is as head coach. The cowboys judge said there were guys I worked with that. I came across in my career at both Alabama and at the New England patriots. That worked with Jason through their time in Miami with him they consistently all reflect on how smart he is. How great a teacher? He is and how his perspective. The game was through a different Lens than most coaches and when when he sees it he's able to communicate it and paint that mental image to the players and he does a fantastic job of making in game adjustments. What anyway Continuing on we had some great conversations and we were able to bring him in here. Judge said it was a great it opportunity to get to know each other a little better than we had before it was a great opportunity to sit there and top ball and share philosophies and views on the game. It's a great system Tom. He brings with great teaching that will allow players to go out there and play aggressively now. Look I'm not trying to you. You know just pick Jason Garrett. I do think that he did some legitimate things during his time with the Dallas Cowboys and he certainly was a fantastic offensive coordinator when he first took on on that role. Now thirteen years ago but I mean in game adjustments playing aggressively. Those aren't really qualities. I would personally finally assigned to the cowboys over the last few years. So maybe Joe Judge got a different interpretation but either way this will be very fascinating Whatever you got going on this Saturday Saturday? Hope it's wonderful. Hope it's incredible hope. It's exactly what you've been dreaming of and I hope you have.

"We're hurting people whereas with old bucking so we got that they're coming up excited about. I'm really taste out of my mouth. A Win Win released shut a lot of people up feel good to the last one was great that was against the panthers. That's that's always special yeah. I feel like it's been a allows. Since we've had one of those. It was like three weeks ago. Now we start our horrible horrible schedule now where we're away but you know we don't ever get homefield advantage anyhow so the planet home doesn't mean anything you might as well play in. London probably got more fans over there. They go to the game. What could we do with a homefield advantage. You know naturally how much better they'd be a huge advantage when you've got fifty thousand people screaming. That's a huge advantage. Their offense offense can't communicate yeah it makes it more difficult for the other team and we haven't had that in a long time and it's got to be discouraging for the team yeah why play and if you don't have any support one thing. I do like about how the media's jumping on areas. I do think like you said that the team has bought in and they're going to rally behind behind him because they don't want the media talking shit about him so they are going to play hard for him. Fan said our lease and that he he had heard the players don't like jet Fan. Yeah heard that on the podcast to yeah and he was like I don't really care because I'm not trying to make friends with rain. which is a reporter? That's how you're supposed to be. I think Joe Bucks Fan. I do think that did to the two jobs are the hardest working guys in the media the local media by far those guys really work hard org but I think they've gotten tainted. They've gotten I think they just have a bad attitude will ever since they started the Joe Bucks Fan site. I think it was two thousand and nine. We've sucked and they put in a lot of work and they get more traffic and they make more money when we win looming. That's just how it works. You know when when you win you get more fans people excited when you lose people frustrated. They don't want to take a break and all that good stuff so they want the team to win logically but I think that they've gotten tainted over a decade of just covering this mess you know and being a part of it. I think they become very pessimistic and it's a it's a bias their writing. They need to continue to snap out of that. They're fan the insight. I know they disagree with that. I think they kind of their name or bucks. Fan Fan site run by journalists so they need to start. Oren more about trying to do what they can to help. The team not hurt the team. They always call Ray j the dentist depression. I don't either turn it around Rhode. If everybody thinks is negative guess what's going to happen. We're going to have crappy team in a change our mind sense about the team mindset yeah good the gorilla mindset going of all right so we're. GonNa podcast out Friday covering the rams preview. I'm real excited about that excited to see what molly is. GonNa come up with excited about the game itself. This is GonNa be the first elite team on our schedule. People would have said weeks ago. The Carolina Panthers were the first team but we we broke the I why now he broke the panthers. We might play the backup in London. Well we made the prediction at the beginning of the year. I said Cam Newton was gonNA last the season so I'll take that Ronald bears out at the end of the season now it's Mrs football season. This rain wrought over yeah yeah they they keep wealth they did beat Arizona's yeah but ter SONA which legal because some hard teams alright is going to wrap it up for us. "They don't care serve we win. They don't care if we lose matter of fact. They'd like the loss because it gives them some right about to get all these clicks so you know I don't listen to them. They don't know anything thing. I've watched the Games most of the time leave from Joe. Box Fan really pissed me off and he called the buccaneers organization a clown show of an organization. He's been saying that and then. What else did he say. Remember all offseason. He was like we need a pass. rusher pass rusher the pasteurize he was going to quit supporting the team. Quit podcast website and all that stuff if we didn't draft a pass rusher in the draft yeah so we might have the best pass rusher in the league AAC statistically right now we have the best pass rusher faster in the league that we didn't pay a fortune for and we didn't have to wait too high draft pick on and what is Leeza. He's as well they they address the pass rush but nothing else lick he has said this is the most glaring hole on our team for like three years. That's all he's been squawking and now that we address in he's an yeah. But what else did you do well. Let's talk about the media a little little bit more and how good they are at prognosticating. Joe Bucks Fan were huge Johnny Manziel. They pushed for him. They even made a website for him. They wanted the booking ears to draft Johnny Manziel. Thank God they are in charge of anything. Important Rick Stroud wrote an article that was picked up by the national media at the beginning of the year saying Gerald Gerald McCoy is staying with the buccaneers emphatically he said Jerem McCoy's not going anywhere. These guys are wrong are never held accountable. The the coach wants to make a split-second decision and it turns out to be not a very good decision and they went to land blast him running out of town talk about blaming hill yeah when they screw up. It's just the well yeah not anymore. We're here to make sure that they are held accountable to. I would like the fan base to start holding them accountable. We'll just like we hold players accountable. I mean if they start calling stuff out like the coaches. We should say no. No you know we lost that game. We lost that game because a guy missed a kick nick field goal by a foot. That's why we lost that game. No other reason on the planet if anything you could say the Fans uh-huh hurt that game more than areas did what it was it was it was all giants fans in that stadium. There were hardly any buccaneer. Fans got pictures that people were posted that were there at the game and they were like this is a home field for the giants. There were stories coming out about how giants fans were just so obnoxious in the parking lot because they were just hooting and hollering and all that the good stuff and it was actually a story about another book into Your Fan who got threaten to be stabbed by another buccaneer fan while they were watching a game all this stuff you know it's just like the fans are are not pulling their weight buccaneer fans and not pulling their weight and we don't need these we gotta get our crap in order before we can let these people who want oh Johnny Manziel and claim that Jerem McCoy is going to be here when he's gone and they think Jerry McCoy's the greatest thing that ever walked on planet Earth really they'll tell us stuff. Tell us how to think about at this team now. I'm sure there's plenty of stuff. I wanted to talk about that. I've got to remember after the podcast has done so we'll we'll throw that in Friday. I just get so worked up with the media. You know it's just so much garbage. We got the rams game coming up. We're going to have the preview is going to do the know your enemy on that one. That'll that'll be Friday and we'll have two days worth of injury report so it's amazing how injury-free our team and it's nobody's look at all the other teams in the League. They're falling apart tweet three what six new starting quarterback this week because injuries yeah. I mean our team is extremely healthy. Now we're dulling out all the injuries..

"Of course there was some mistakes. People people messed up. It's going to happen in every game. If we would have won this game all you'd be hearing about how great our team is. That's all you'd hear in how Arians Orient has worked in there playing well there. You know we'd be two in one so the only difference is afoot gays foot and the foot. He missed on the kick. That's the only difference and that difference right. They're supposed to make Bruce Arians a bad coach. Oh man you gotta be shitting me. We talked about this off season that this was going to happen. Here's what's happened. The media loved Gerald McCoy loved him. He was their go to guy he was. They're insider cider in the locker room. He gave them quotes anytime they needed it. They loved him. They'd love to and if you don't think too media is biased in their access says because they're all access media. We've talked about this. They are dependent. Their job is dependent on getting access to players and quotes and press conferences. You don't think that they're biased towards who's GonNa. Give them media access. Go back and look at what happened. Was She. GonNa you know she auto restricted the media access to those guys and they lamb blasted him. The media went after him for two years until they ran him out of town. They had the whole fan base foaming at the mouth to get rid of him. I've never scene. Fan Base hate a coach as much as they hated him. After only a year two years and people were just like oh he's horrible. He's a bully. He's mean he's a monster and all that that all came from the media all of it they they jumped on him about the Mersa. They said he was wrong about Josh. Freeman said he'd ruined Josh Freeman but then come find out later now that was issue. Graciano did everything he could to try to help. Josh and Josh Shit all over this organization. He burned bridges. Does he walked out. The media's went after she on it because CIANO wouldn't give them the access they wanted to the players. Xiang very strict on who could access his players. They hated him when he came in the thing got plenty of proof of that is Tampa. Bay media hated him all the national media all media hated him so if you don't think they're biased towards people that give give them access and stuff towards their accessibility than you're insane when when Bruce Arians got rid of jerem McCoy the local media had had a meltdown go back and look they were all whining.

"I pushed all three of them now playing in that contract everybody is playing hard on this team. This isn't the old buccaneers football team that we've seen the past ten years. Here's this is. This is twenty two guys out there trying to make plays. I mean you see 'em flying around the ball and they're generally in great position. Labonte David had some good news. good reads by she killed. Barrett was phenomenal he was he was lights out. It's a shame that the outcome of the game has kind of tinged what Shaq Barrett the kind of performance and he had not only Shaq Barrett Book Mike Evans. OJ Howard offense of line of running bags you could even though James Winston Winston in there I mean yeah those guys are getting no credit for an outstanding game and if it wasn't for that loss sh- Akbar would have got defensive player of week again and Mike Evans would offense employer the way just because of that won miss kick and gay cost me. I lost the famous football all this week because of gay that's under Israeli is about I lost. I lost by point two five points. You're so transparent because if because gave field go feel out one by what three or four points but because he missed got a point knocked off. I love point two five points but hey I don't I don't it's going to happen and it happens to the best of all they've everybody's done at all. Oh Kicker Zip have missed that game winning field goal I mean who was it the kicker for the Minnesota the Vikings didn't miss a kick all year long in Mississippi kick in the NFC championship game so I would much rather who missed the kick now and not miss the NFC championship king. It's Gonna I'm having okay. Can we just talk about Roe quick. BA's explanation for a while they took the delay of game and that he said he did it on purpose on the next. Stay well then. He does intentional well. I think we're going to get to this little bit when the media bashing rolls around but I think the media took took it literally when he said he did it on purpose intentionally. I don't think he meant they were like all. We're just going to go ahead and take a delay of game ain't penalty because we want to move back five yards. It was a split second decision. He said that the this is a weird thing that nowhere on film is that play I play. It's nowhere on film. It wasn't on the broadcast ask version. It wasn't on the coaches version. I know it's very strange conspiracy theory but now he said that the referee standing over the ball because the defense was making and switching to people out in the clock was running down and they realize they couldn't get the playoff in time so they just went ahead and took the delay of dame penalty taking time. Al They had the one time out and they should have used that of course is mistakes to we'll get to that second. That's going to be a long media-bashing media bashing section of podcast up but you know split-second decision ahead to make and they were like well. There's only five yard he make it from the army the difference between what the twenty nine yard and thirty four tomorrow seriously and so they were just like fine we'll just take the delay game five yard no big deal but the media took it as like he had planned that and so they uh of course turn them out oil. I feel like if the initial response at the press conference was he kinda got caught off guard by the question or and I kind of felt like maybe was covered trying not to throw somebody under the bus I got the brush and ten it could be the ravs see. They want to throw the rest under the bus because they've gotten enough racket yet because I wanted to see that I wanted to see if the refs were partially responsible for that delay of game well something they'll stay right over the ball while the clock's ticking pick tapping many a times and then you know they walk away and all of a sudden. It's delay a game which could see. They didn't have it in the broadcast version of broadcast. The commentators were talking and showing one stupid graphics and all of a sudden it was. There's a penalty so you couldn't see what happened in the coaches film. They didn't show play either. Just all of a sudden it was penalty and then next black yeah. I don't know what happened. Nobody knows what happened so unless they were game watching paying attention looking at the coach you know the the coverage in the secondary was good. We made some mistakes. Of course everybody makes mistakes but it wasn't like we were making mistakes left and right it. Wasn't you know Mike Smith Defense where guys were running around wide open and we had a few busted coverages but nothing to explain why we lost. I couldn't do it. If you had to point. I would say if you haven't done up to my heads say why. HOW DID WE LOSE THAT GAME. I'd say God did it. That's the only thing I can come up with the the fortune fell in their direction and I I can't pinpoint one was are there any similarities between this game and the San Francisco game no not really similarities would be tight. They tied in really did some damage to us. Kill beat up on us than England beat up on us. Yeah Greg All San in Greg Olson. Yes when what I said last night but this game I said are are linebacker. We're GONNA have to be on point as are most important most important public positions on the field. I can't remember if we ever had had to rely on the field. I don't think we did the usually just two which is normal and when I say linebackers I'm talking about about Dame Kevin Minter no not Shaquille Barrington. There's a the the place where he ran. Dana Jones ran the volume. That was a fourth down play. It was just extremely fluky. Howard L. worked out. You know it wasn't it was a band play design on our part. It was good play design on their part. It just happened to work out that way because sued just happened to get caught up in. Some mess couldn't get around to fill that gap. It wasn't suicide either. It was all four element Dhamma Cong Su Vida. They in the two blockers were all bunched together in like a little scrum ensued. Just didn't get out to where he was supposed to be but it wasn't his fault. It was his very very flukey and that that right there would stop them right there which we should have you know fourth day on. That was the the game if we would stop them. We could have just run the clock out in they ended up scorn and touched him but again right. There's there's nobody to blame. There's nobody to blame. You can't even say that. The giants did good. They're just all of a sudden Dana Jones. Look something because Oh crap. There's a there's open space for me to run so he took it random made the touchdown the other touchdown he got where he ran kind of one of those where nobody was really expecting it a whole lot but we could have stopped him. Whitehead took the inside. He took a Iran so he went inside but but he realized that Daniel Jones Runnin so he stopped him rain after Dana Jazz. Medina jobs is obviously pretty fast. 'cause we had two two cornerbacks chasing him. They couldn't get him so what I take away from all this because we've got a damn good football team. Damn good real good. Our offensive line has gone up against two probably the top ten defensive lines and done well. The did well against the giants so offense of land is not an issue. We're not GONNA have problems with our offense glass manufacture playing pretty mean you have a couple of clips of them mugging well. Gosh there's one word Janssen and Marquette the blender linebackers fifty three comes in on a stunt and Jensen in Marquette Siham comment. You could say on both just staring him down as he's comment and ages put a wall up on ground. It looked painful. Donald Smith is is playing up his contract to be asked me. I'm really impressed with how well he's been playing. He's playing to the whistle and he's not living and that's all we ask so something in here. I just feel like the players have bought in. That's you can towel yes. Yes I mean these. Guys are out there trying to make place they want ought to win. They want to win. They're not doing a job getting a paycheck trying to go to the pro bowl thorughout. They're trying to win. You could tell these guys and when they play they look devastated really beat up. You're like Dang it you all the time when you know the play happens. You'll see whoever was was at fault. There would just be like Oh and who was on one of the one of the touchdowns there was a busted play on the defense might have been two point conversion. Berge version. It was made coverage and thirty three calls. Davis got caught up got bumped off his man for Labonte. David saw it so he tried to get to the to call to Davis's receiver but the guy had a couple of steps on him and he was able to get the two points but there was one can't remember Lavar David and I want to say it was whitehead turned around and started bitching at whoever was that stop out I want to say it with mentor but they messed up in coverage and so they turned active play you see a turnaround both Dave mentored kind of giving him a mouthful earn earful so you know we've got a good team. This is a good team. This tape op set at the beginning of the year. We are going to compete with the New Orleans staint saints the New Orleans Saints the New Orleans Eights and I still believe it fully. I mean even even though Teddy Bridgewater is in there and like I said that the beginning of the year Teddy Bridgewater is is good enough to keep that saints team competitive and he shouted the Sunday it doesn't matter. I think we're going to be competitive with them. We're just going to get better. We brought in a quarterback to work out with the bucks. I saw in an apparently he's very similar taste. Some hill also what happened to Greg. Allman was pondering whether they were just gonna a US him in drills with the defense because he says similarity Jason Hill. Let's be smart. Give them some work was a hell of quarterback to Fitzgerald's exchanged. Gerald injured. I think that's right. That's right and then we put twelve or try now and we Lebron up Pat O'Connor the defensive Lineman linebacker outside linebacker. I liked him too. Yeah and you can see I. I pointed out in these videos. I think the most time that Daniel Jones had to throw was two point eight seconds. Wow Yeah nobody. You can't hold the ball on us. You cannot stay pocket three seconds. You can't do it to possible and we are getting to these guys in a second half. Sometimes wow yeah you if you you go back and watch the forty niners Game Carolina game in the giants game. None of those quarterback held that ball long three seconds man you can't it vida ensue are going to be at you at the quarterback while they're carrying their blocker into and a half seconds couple of instances that I point out tim how how often are they double team via in worst sale the lot yeah whole vase not doing as good as I expected for. MLS Not playing a bad by any means I and he's getting both of them are getting great. Push up minimum that pocket collapses so quick the front of it just moves straight back and I wanted really see Vailab be more fierce like he was tailing last year and I'm wondering if both Veda and Dhamma Cong Su are conserving their strength. Thanks for the later half of the season and not play a band at all right any team out there would take both of those guys in a heartbeat what you know that was the.

"This is Ralph Phillips September twenty four th two thousand nineteen. I ahead hurts man. I am so burned out on this matter been doing game film all day long and a following buccaneers news for for the past couple of days. We'll get to that little later. We got some media-bashing. We're getting ready to do getting ready to drop the hammer on these nitwits but do want to cover the game boom. Where do you WANNA do first game. Fill that out of the way and again third week in a row. What we saw was basically what was on the phone okay. Craziness Zina's never had this happen before. There were a few things I really wanted to see what the breakdown wasn't the secondary while they were able to get somewhat yardage on us in the second half half and I'm GONNA be straight up with you. I have no idea how they won. The game. Have No clue I sat there and tried to figure it out. I couldn't do it like how you game plan so it wasn't all like short little passes or a similar rallies. They weren't picking on anyone. No we were by far the better team. I mean we made him. Those guys. We out physical do outplayed them out coach them. It was all around we we were just better now. It came down to gay missed that kick. That is the reason why we lost the game point blank no getting around that. You can no matter who you dislike you. You can point to them and say oh. They made this mistake. That could have cost us the game bub-bubba when it comes down to it. It was mad gay missing kick. Everybody else did their job. All the way up to that point. Matt gave mistake other than that. Our team played fantastic absolutely fantastic. Our offensive line was top notch man man. I mean we were just beating the mess. Out of those guys datsuns been getting some grief yeah of course messed up once a couple of times. Maybe maybe a marquette messed up. Donald Smith messed up. A kappa messed up put it. They weren't disastrous. Mess ups every what you would expect you know oh all offense allowing are going to get beat every now and then and that's what these were these. Were just basically what you would expect. You can even see that happen with the Patriots. The Saints Cowboys I mean their offense allowing get beat every now and then to but when you combine together all these when you compare the getting beats and the beating people we beat though the offensive line beat their defensive line wasn't even it wasn't even a question. I think we gave well. I would say one. SEC was offensive. Line's fought any what he they had four. I can't remember what was it four. I think sal three or four because we fact Jones five times our office of line play very well the the run game. We were killing all allowance. Just I don't think are running back has got behind or antilock scrimmage. All game are wide. Receivers played. Well aw are tight ends played well. Everybody played well and we had some top notch performances out there Shaquille Barrett. I got the video. Don Video should be yeah by the time you hear this podcast. Go check it out on Youtube. Shaquille Barrett was one of the best defensive performances I've ever watched. I mean the sacks he got. They were nice but I mean he was. In that guy's face the whole game he got a couple of good run stops he was in he. He wasn't just beaten nate solar that left tackle. He beat everybody online him and he's done that for three games. You know what I thought about today is that he's on a one year contract and he's going to make a killing in if he goes the free agency. Zee on his his agent is talking with Bill. Now you could guarantee. You and we're talking seriously about hey. We need to resign this guy. Yeah yeah elite elite. He's Miller this whole time. Yeah the broncos on how to sack yet and here's here's Shaquille eight eight good Lord who would have thought that that we were going to come into this season. Everybody's worried about our offensive line. That was the week by. They played well every week. We seem to have swapped. We complain about it. I was talking about last time we wanted was Davis Winston needs to go week to it was whereas OJ Howard our and where's my evans and now we three. It's the kicker so we're not consistently bad in any area. Were added one area fix it. Another leak POPs up. I think that's always the case. It's always can happen You'd never going to have a team that just plays perfect in all parts of the game. You got to remember that. This is a brand new team. We got a lot of new players. We've got the new coaching staff. We got new systems both sides of the ball so for them to be playing this. Well is incredible to me. That Shaquille Barrett is just eases the dominant he's got. I can't even count how many movies God you know I usually these. These pass rushers will have a few moves that they're really good at. This guy does everything I mean. He's doing everything he's got. He must have a Rolodex indexed three feet deep on moves. He's doing moves. I've never seen before this one where he shoots his leg out. He does that little you saw it in the last video. You haven't seen anybody where I don't. I know he kicks his leg out to the right and takes us real long step. It's really funny like it but he gets around guys with never seen it before. I'M GONNA I'm sure somebody's done but I've never seen you should get Barrett yeah. He just played lights out of Ahah played. Good not as good as I would want of course but sue play good NASA plate good. Bo Allen play good. Nacho played well vaunted David played good. He had one mess up that cover it when he was in coverage. He'd do one where Ingram got touchdown. That was Labonte David's phone. I'm pretty sure I mean this. Defense is extremely hard to read. I mean it's not hard to read as far as the D. quarterbacks doing their main coverage stuff but the rest estimate you don't know what they're supposed to be doing it very very difficult to read but Levante David from what I can interpret. If you watch the video he messed up on that coverage on ingram he should drop back further in the zone coverage but then it wasn't all David's fault because Edwards came up miss the tackle yeah it was really Edwards really messed up there and then as ingram was running down the sideline hargreaves was over there and instead of tackling the engaged with the blocker so Mike Smith Defense Habits die hard minter played well. Everybody played well. There's nobody on the team that I could say day screwed adopt or they were the weekly or anything like that except gay you know he just missed the fuel. Golgotha winches boom boom there it. Is You know we did have that. One play where does Daniels Daniels ran it in for the touchdown. I think we're at the twelve yard line or somewhere in there you know and that was in that just seemed to be what happened with them. It wasn't that they beat us. Yes it was just things just happen bright for them because what was going on with Vega ensue did a stunt and Vale went to the left love. Su Su was going to the right and the guy that was blocking Vail or was originally block of ethic. It might have been the center or the right guard. I can't remember just happened to get ensues way and kind of boxy sixty men. He wasn't able to get around and nobody expected. Daniels's runs straight up the middle and that's exactly what happened. He just salt as ran straight up the middle. It was a a a fluke play. He wasn't expected all of a sudden. There was the Red Sea parted in front of him so he just ran up. The middle. Daniel Jones Josh Daniels whose Josh Daniels he's he wasn't he a coach Debra Caver mcdaniels Task Dan Josh mcdaniels. He's back with the Patriots now. Yeah Hargreaves does need to get a little bit a better on his special teams a point that out of the video pointed out last week video to and be a actually brought it up. He didn't mention Hargreaves but he said we gotTA stop. The gunners are getting underway. It's hargreaves. That's not stopping a governor so he did have one play where he took the governor. Pushing out of bounds the guy went like ten yards out of bounds announce and actually got lost in the his teammates on the sideline. You couldn't see whatever it hargreaves is like where to go and then he comes shooting out at the end. The heart has got to put a little bit more effort into his special teams. He's probably pissed that he'd have to play special teams. They actually took him out of the punt. Return turn team the last punt thanking the head butting in place which probably smart move come into God's not going to perform on special teams. They innocence him out there trying to teach eighteen by lesson here in high school and he's injury Pram. We don't want him getting hurt. That's another thing we are a healthy team. We were beating the crap the crap I mean Cam Newton still don't WanNA play. I'm surprised McCaffrey made it last week. I'm serious. We beat him so hard. Then Ciclon Barclay didn't even make it into a half yeah we were beaten up to Daniel Jones a couple times. I don't know how he got up around. There was one there was one where NASA hit him in the welcome to the NFL hit Zack who that was a tough one within there was one before that where massive and Shaq Jack Barrett came in hitting both at the same time and just crushed him like vice which is like crazy and I was like. I don't know how he's young. He hadn't taken enough of this. He's he's still working through his Russian or Jay. Howard did real well. James Winston didn't get the happy feet that much of a couple couple times. I thought he did more this week than he did in week. Two maybe a little bit more slept alert more in this one but he didn't see a couple of people downfield. Don't feel but not that bad only one of them. Could you say it was a really bad mistake. It was for a touchdown yet. OJ Howard Wide Open right in the end zone but then we ended up outscoring the next place so it wasn't really that bad and generally when he had guys wide open which it didn't happen in this game maybe three times he wouldn't the phone somebody else that making the pants so it wasn't that big of a deal but yeah it just seems like they were able to move down the field. Just pure happenstance it. You know it wasn't the plate designs beat us. It wasn't like we were leaving guys wide open. I mean we did a couple times and they capitalized on it but it just seemed like things just happen to work out for him you in tackling well. I think I counted won Miss Tackle in a game yeah. Maybe two we were tackling. Well and I want to say it was whitehead that Misa tackle. No it was a guidance on Ingram must be more. It did two three three three Max but I don't have any notes here. I didn't write any notes. I'm has gone off the top of my head mentor. Good hurdle over the running back on the blocking. Donald Smith played really well and he got beat but he had plays where he was thrown his main in the ground and he was hostile in the whole game and he opened up some holes. I mean there was one where he blocked three guys. Push them out of the way well. He pushed his guy in two other guys..

"Organizations, but the New York Giants have had that stability. But my goodness. Has it all gotten out of hand a moment? I'm going to play a little audio of John Mara of the New York Giants candidly talking to the media say more than what you expect usual owner to say. But when you're one in five you have an aging quarterback that has little left in the gas tank. You have a volatile receiver that you're paying ninety five million bucks to over the next five years that seemingly can't controls emotions. I think it's fairly obvious. Why John Mara would decide to be candidly, honest when talking to the media, but some may get upset with his comments some may say that he's trying to silence players. But I think there comes a point when you look at the organization you say to yourself somebody has to take charge here and try to right this ship. I mean, this is an organization that's floundering. The giants in the last twenty three games are four and nineteen four nineteen and they may have an all world running back for the next ten years. But they don't have a quarterback for the next five games. That's the problem with the New York Giants right now is what is the future? I don't have that answer. Because the New York Giants have not prepared for the future. The New York Giants have been blinded by faith and Eli manning to where this organization shot itself in the foot by not adequately prepared. Hiring for life after Eli manning. And this is where we're at where when the owners all get together to meet and the media's there, John Maher's usually guy people don't talk to why. Because John's never have problems there stability the cameras. They gravitate to Jerry Jones. Right. The cameras gravitate to Mark Davis. Very rarely do you see a mirror in front of a camera habit to talk about his crappy team? Take a listen to John Mara. Talking candidly about the New York Giants their problems and even opening up about his ninety five million dollar wide receiver. By we'll get you that we'll get you down here in a minute. But I'll tell you what it is utterly incredible. To me. That it has come down to the point where the New York Giants are staring at another law season and wurley six weeks into it. Right. We have sound. I think all right. Let's let's play John Mara earlier today talking to the media. Create the headline spies play on the field. A little more. Wow. How about that? A little more playing a little less talking. Now, shall I already? Right. The headlines for the pundits out there. Should I write the headlines for the soft? He's out there. How dare you? Try to silence a player in the day at age of players kneeling. How dare you? Try to silence a player by saying less talking. How can you take away the personality of Odell Beckham junior and tell him to stop talking? He has a right to talk. He has a right to say what he wants. You know, what I say shut up and do your job. Now, do I think it's Odell Beckham junior hits his fault that statistically, he's not doing great. That is yards per catch. Average is weak that he's got a grand total of one receiving touchdown. Yes. Thrown for one. But he's got one receiving touchdown to the first six games of the year. Now, it's not on him. I don't think it's a case where he's not open. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the New York Giants have an inability to protect their quarterback and Eli has the inability to escape the pocket. So when you have two seconds or even three seconds before your pocket is literally collapsing around you you lie. Manning doesn't have adequate time to allow Beckham junior to do what he does well, which is down the field, so lessons. Odell Beckham junior's become a slot receiver who needs camp out seven or eight yards. Catch the ball and hope to run with it. Because there's not enough time for Junie to get down the field beep, and I'm not even sure Eli manning could get the football to him at this point is career. What I call them yesterday noodle, arm manning. And I'm not talking about painting. I'm talking about you like I really did years Peyton calling him noodle arm here on the show. Now, it's he likes turn. Do we tell Archie this next time? We see him, Sean. Do we bring it up to Archie goes, you remember we had a little conversation? I didn't get to it with Archie. Because he didn't seem to be in the mood to talk about that. Please don't don't bring up please. Because we have such a good relationship with them right now. So I don't want to disappoint. Hey, aren't you? What are they going to be is armed these days? Okay. We'll leave it at that. I just find it incredible. And if you're John Mara. I wonder if you regret not trading Odell Beckham junior last off season. Let me put it to you. Simply the New York Giants should've traded Odell Beckham junior. They should have. I'm not denying. He's a great talent. I'm not denying Odell Beckham junior talent wise is one of the three best wide receivers in football. Although, you know, what I'm starting to think de'andre Hopkins might be in that conversation. Maybe Odell drops a little bit. I mean, they Tonio Browns. They're Julio Jones's there. I'm not going to sit here and tell you flat out Odell Beckham junior's better than Deandra Hopkins. I think there's a quite an interesting conversation bringing up both those guys. Now, you can't go wrong with any one of those four guys. I just mentioned, but the reality is what had the giants won. And we're we're in year number five of Odell Beckham junior. They've gone to the playoffs. Exactly. Once in these five years, and by the way, this year's ready over for the New York Giants, I'll tell you right now. And I'll bet you any last dollar. I have that the New York Giants, and I'm making the postseason this year. It's fairly obvious at one in five and it's not as if they're getting any better their offense year where there's more offense than any other year in football history. They're not scoring remotely close to what the league average is. I mean, they're averaging less than twenty points game. It's pathetic. So you break it down. And you look at it ODA Beckham junior as great as he is does not help the giants win games a wide receiver does not help team win games. Right. You need a quarterback to get the ball wide receiver you need it. Offense of line that gives a quarterback enough time to get that ball that wide receiver you need running back deck and establish a running game to give the quarterback time to get the ball that wide receiver you need a defense to get the takeaways in the stops to get the ball back to the offense to get the ball, then to the wide receiver notice a pattern here. The last man there is that wide receiver not bashing the wide receiver position. I'm just saying I'm not so sure owed Beckham junior is as important to the New York. Giants is ninety five million dollars tells us he is. How do I know because they don't win with him. They don't even without him. Obviously. Right. No question about it. We saw that last year when he was heard early in the season and missed a lot of time. There wanted five it's not any better now. And he's healthy. He's helping the bang his head against a fan. He's healthy to jog off the field before happened to get himself a little IV, right? Rather than being there for a hail Mary. The New York Giants should've traded Odell Beckham junior because he is a problem in that locker room when saquon Barkley he's the one that's got to come over to him on the sideline to common down. That's a problem when the fifth year that has to be calm down by the rookie and his six game. That's a problem. And if I can't rely on him, I ninety five million dollar man to actually be a leader out there. And to be worthy of c on his jersey to be a captain. That's a problem. Odell Beckham junior is more a problem than he is an acid on that team. And sometimes getting rid of talent actually makes you better. Let me give you examples. Sean, let's see a little smile on your face. When I bring this up. We talked about it yesterday on the show. Von Davis has an impressive resume to pro bowls in his career. This is your number ten for voluntary Davis. You can't sit here and tell me that the bills defense hasn't been perpetually better since the second half of the game. He retired at halftime at right? They have been they've been the number one defense in the NFL since the moment. Vantera Davis took off his shoulder pads at halftime in game number three right close to it. Yep. Yeah. Addition by subtraction. Getting Odell Beckham and his pessimistic attitude, and is me first attitude. And the inability to be a team player out of there would have benefited a New York Giants team that has to rebuild and yet younger. I don't want young players in my locker room emulating the actions and the emotions of Odell Beckham junior. And at some point you got to realize as talented as he is. He's a knucklehead and he's got to go. Carol Owens played on how many teams in his career lots. Why not because they got rid of him because he wasn't talented because they realized he was a cancer in the locker room. Randy moss. Played on more teams in his career. Then he should have why. Because teams got rid of him because either quit on 'em like the raiders or just became a cancer in the locker room like the Vikings. So don't tell me great players. Don't get traded or released they do in the prime of their careers. Team is dumb enough to want to give you a I in the third round pick for Odell Beckham junior to bring that headache into their locker room. By all means go ahead. The giants are better off without him. And here's why because the New York Giants going to be tracking their next franchise quarterback this next draft. Right. Be justin. Herbert of Oregon be Ryan filming of NC state. Dwayne Hoskins of Ohio State one of those guys. Do you want a sixth year Odell Beckham junior Chirpin in there? You're getting that and getting into football. Do you think it's healthy for a rookie quarterback to deal Beckham junior his antics, you think a rookie quarterback say no to all pro Odell Beckham junior is ninety five million dollars contract. Do you think he's going to be somebody that takes the quarterback under his wing the way, a leader does no way? No how not happening. So if you're the New York Giants right now one in five with a serious rebuild ahead of you. You trade Odell Beckham junior right now, you get yourself a first rounder and you try to get a third rounder as well. You're not getting two first round picks for back in junior. I'll tell you why. Because he doesn't make the same impact. A Khalil Mack. Makes Khalil Mack is shoney's were two first round picks. Odell Beckham junior hasn't shown it. It's that simple. The New York. Giants are absolute mess right now. The easiest solution is start over you draft a quarterback. You got the running back. You get rid of the wide receiver who's nothing, but trouble not Beckham junior. And I think John Merritt today express frustration. That's about as far as he's gonna come out and say shape up or we ship you out. That's the only way to look at it. When it comes to that computer because what an absolute nightmare. He has become with his antics on the sideline. Meaning me me me me. I that's what he's about not a healthy guy to have in your locker room. Really incredible. Honestly, it is utterly incredible. When you think about what has happened in New York? Incredible. What has happened in New York or the New York Giants because they are an absolute mess right now. All right. We gotta stick around with the NFL because there's so much going on right now in this league. It is utterly amazing. What's happening? But there are so many stories. What's up a lady, I'm bell? What's the latest with him? Is he coming back? We'll get to that next. Go deep bench sportsman NBC sports radio in the NBC sports radio mobile app. Brian locker sports radio..

"Okay so adam schefter came out in reported that the new york giants would like to first round picks for beckham adam schefter is accurate so this is true what the giants are saying is will move him but you they're sending a message this is how the this is how it works when you get guys like peter schrager and jay glazer and peter king and adam schefter and chris mortensen these are highly read reporters teams send messages through reporters what the giants are saying is we're willing to move him that's what the giants are telling you but they're also telling you come with a legitimate offer okay so when i i don't treat all reporters the same there's about six guys that cover the nfl then are just better connected okay schefters one of them okay this is a message from the new york giants to every gm in the league has every gm reads about seven fell guys six seven guys all the nfl guys read them and we got a couple of here at fox and people just read them and this is a message he's for sale but don't try to low balls i think the giants would take a first and third by the way that's two starters in the nfl especially for the new york giants do i think odell beckham is worse worth a first round pick yeah i don't think he's not worth the first pick but do i think he's worth pick.

"I would take josh allen you would i would take the big quarterback with the big arm that it's it's a quarterback to me you can go rosen allen mayfield you could but let me ask you a question what if you get offered three ones by buffalo you have to do it you do twenty to twelve in next year's one yeah well here's what here's the big red herring with me with the giants the signing a nate soldiers not congruent with everything else they've done they're trying to get younger they're trying to shave catholic well but but i know i disagree totally disagree totally i disagree because look at all of the left tackles who were playing into their mid third is doing it playing figuratively so in my opinion this is not nate solder in his last three nfl okay he's gonna play four or five years i think okay that's fair yeah and that would that would help explain it three ones is interesting yeah for the number that's the gettleman in my opinion how incredible would it be if the new york giants made the following trades if they train odell beckham junior for two ones and if they traded the second pick in the draft for three ones so would have the twelve e the browns of two thousand eight eighteen and nineteen they'd have the twelve they would have the twenty two they'd have the twentythree they would have next year two first round picks of the three first round picks their own the rams and the bills so in other words they would have three first rounders in each of the next two drafts that's sunny cool so you know what they could do they could take lamar jackson couldn't it out and if it doesn't work out take another one next year that's it i mean that's that's fun and that's why the drafts great because as much of that i read could you imagine let me tell you this this is give less need was the general man present new york giant can have do that.
