"We're not Here's a tweet by the intercept A left wing wreg. Notice that listen, this is hilarious. They're so upset that parents are objecting to critical racism theory. Here's their tweet parents, mostly white. "But after they have checked in, you know online when they've done attendance. That they have a way of going off line while the teacher is meandering on and just start playing roadblocks and fortnight within French, And Can you believe this? My sister, her son just graduated from New York City High School. Thank God She got the letter accidentally from the school, and they're not like if the hybrid learning when you're going into the classroom, you're not technically you're going to be with 10. Other kids. You're not going to be learning from that teacher. You're still doing the virtual Learning on your computer, and then you're just going to have an adult basically, baby sitting you and you're sitting in this room all day long, just staring at a screen. It's It's so sad underscore what Lydia is saying, because that's a radical departure from what we were told, even a month and a half ago. So what she's saying is even on the days where kids are getting remote learning. They're not even going to get live. No, But even when they're going into the butt, even when they're going into the classroom, you think OK, it's going to be like a regular class setting with the teacher. Live teacher. Yes, you're going to see a live teacher. Yes, you'll see other kids, but you'll still be working off of your laptop and doing those lessons. Well, here's the thing about all this. I mean, for the last 5 10 years since every kid started walking around with a smartphone. As an adult. You always look at these kids and say, Oh, my goodness. These kids are so smart today. Where did they learn this where they learn that now, given the fact that kids are no longer learning anything, Noah don't will ever be saying that again. No one will ever be in awe of how smart a child that's comes from a man who was famous for having been a purple pirate graduate of Tottenville High School. Who then went on to become a blue, violent fighting violent, also purple blue violet menu and having his parents end up getting ripped off for like hundreds of thousands of, you know, I got accepted into Nuo and they only gave me like this tiny partial scholarship, and I still would have probably still be paying off my leg. You graduated and why you did Yes. Our owner operated John catch Matty's dropped out of GNU. Look at him. He's a billionaire, and you're just a little higher than I am on the fiscal Sze of the high school drop out, you have the end. Why you certificate of graduation? And you'll be buried in a pine box and I'll be buried in the cardboard box in Potter's field in this race is a great point. I'm going to suggest to John that he go back to school. This way. You could finally make something of his life. That question, though, here I'm looking at charter schools because we really haven't talked about them a lot in comparison in New York City. I've seen the charter schools. They're not even pretending they're going to bring the kids back of the teachers back in the classroom. They're doing the virtual training the kids. They have to be in front of the computers at 8 30 in the morning in the uniform very much like the old Catholic school. Gotta wear the uniform. They don't get off that computer for a few breaks. You know, lunch and then maybe a few little breaks to 4 30 in the afternoon. These kids are gonna end up being superstars They already are. And yet they come from any of the same neighborhoods where you have young Children being forced to go to the nearby public schools who now lost now. I mean, First of all, they may not have the apparatus, the proper laptop. They may not know how to operate it. They may not have parents at home. Who are sufficient and its use. They're gonna fall further and further and further parents that can't even speak English. You know, like home with their child. So how is that going to work? It's it's such an unfortunate situation and It's Ah, we're going to take a look at it. But of course, the kids being hurt the most by the sort of the ones in the lower income areas. What about the kids with attention deficit disorder, which many of the kids have? Who cannot stay focused in the classroom. It's hard enough to rein them in. How do you keep them focused on looking at a computer screen that doesn't have games or pornography or something? LF you don't? I mean, that's exactly the problem. And I was talking with a teacher from New Jersey earlier today, and he was telling me in his school district. They're talking about bringing kids back. To school beginning at the end of October, But everybody, even in Jersey, and I would venture to say probably around the region is watching New York City schools to see how it works out for New York City, and if it goes well for New York City, and there aren't thes pandemic reports of kids getting Kind of covert 19. Then I think you'll see a domino effect all around the region. Well, you think what I've seen in Jersey is remember. At first the man who calls everyone a knucklehead. Yes, Governor, Murphy said. Oh, no, we're going to have in school for our Children. He threw that out the window. Then he left it up to everybody. Teachers. Naturally, the union's buffaloed everybody and said We're gonna die Die that really set your workers, please. We never want to go back to school. You and I understand if they would just be honest and say the school classrooms are so dysfunctional in some of the public school rooms. I can't get control of the kids in the classroom. I certainly am not going to be able to keep their attention when they're on the computer, But at least I'm safe and secure at home. I'm not being attacked in the classroom. But no, they'd rather say, you know, I'm going to get quota virus. I'm going to die. Isn't that part of the problem that they've so overexaggerated this And yet we had all these other essential work unions or the public officials, the unions and some of the teachers what we're going to talk with the president of the principal's Union today, and we will ask him if he's been part of the he's saying in each 10,000 additional teachers in New York City. Well, here's a statistic for you guys. So researchers at Brown University they released a new set of data. From the new National Cove in 19 School Response data dashboard, So, basically, that means they're tracking all the corona virus cases in the school's right. OK, so have we. This is across the country. Have we seen a huge spike? Do you think we've seen this huge spike in huge cases? Let me ask you, Curtis. What do you think? What do you think? The confirmed cases the rates for students, Wass now Lydia Sorana. You mentioned Brown University, a place that I had a partial scholarship, too. If I would have that, so I B league isn't finished. I don't believe that. Oh, you know why? Because I was into recycling, and that was very Vogue ish and nobody was into recycling. So they gave me a special consideration. I'll sell my weight around University in Providence. And I remember years later there I was on the stage with the following people on one side, Dr Timothy Leary and Abbie Hoffman promoting drug use on my side, Me and Peter Benzinger, who had been the failed drugs off for Jimmy Carter. And you know who was supporting Abbie Hoffman against me, who will said he's the Hebrew Road Warrior and kick my ass on the stage, and 4000 undergrads went crazy. Who was it? Who is Jimmy Carter's daughter at that time going to Brown University? Amy Carter? Yes, Wow supporting Abbie Hoffman against me. Meantime, Peter Benzinger said, Please don't embarrass me, Curtis. I mean, it's not really a fair match up a bunch of college kids, you know, one person trying to ban marijuana and two people are saying drop out and You know, whatever Drop in and drop out. DCP depends fingers. Two sons went to Brown. He said to me before that, Bae please don't embarrass me. I said I embarrassed myself. Why wouldn't I embarrass you upon the stage in front of 4000 raving lunatics who were lighting joints in the crowd, and we're dropping acid. Well, now, they I don't think they're smoking weed. NYC with New York City high school English teacher Dennis my house he he teaches at the City College academy of the arts high school in upper Manhattan and he is also now the executive director of the group students disrupting with which he is trying to spread the idea of having student newspaper and spread the ability to have a student newspaper to every New York City public school only twelve percent of all the city public schools have their own student run newspaper according to the stats that we got from him and also with us is one of the reporters on the paper that he started at city ikat City College academy of the arts high school the paper called the crawl and we have student reporter Jody L. then sent Dennis how are you going about it and what do you need if you're really gonna make this probably the first city in the world to have universal student newspapers yes the first step is that we are reaching out to schools that both houses that student newspapers or media programs and schools that are interested in having them but are a little bit hesitant about starting one hour don't really know where to begin and that would be we would bring them together and do community around tables and then those round tables with here from the school the how the program is already you know what made it successful was some challenges and then any of the schools that have not started in a newspaper program here from them about like what their fears are what are the things that are getting in the way and then just putting together from what we hear from all these different groups then be able to put together the pilot program which is then we would have a few different schools from each borough that we would have our kind of curriculum in place or the way that we would get the newspaper started in each one of those schools based on what we've learned from the different schools that we've spoken to Johnny how do you think now you've gotten involved with journalism now that you've gotten involved with journalism that you look at the world differently in anyway I mean before it is sort of the newspaper where you know the whole time something in fake news I was interested in journalism not as much as I am now you know like reading the articles and everything like that but I would say that after starting the course and you know still being in the chorus I'm definitely interested in journalism you know this whole idea of fake news everything like that I am more entry yeah Dennis the scent of the Jedi L. is on to something there that is related to your motivation for this in a world where it's harder than it used to be to separate out real news from fake news and where social media rather than news organizations dominate the spread of information that that's part of the context of what you're trying to do here yes absolutely because from the server when we started the newspaper a lot of students were from what I heard and what I saw were getting their news from social media and that's in my opinion very dangerous because you don't know where that's coming from but when we see when we publish the newspaper and its planned and we give it out to the student so many students want one of the newspapers I want to read the newspaper and they're discussing the newspaper with their friends so to me starting them off young and getting them to know you know how to read the news and how it's produced I think will lead them to them being a much more media literate generate generations and they've only Jersey around W..

"Walk in the halls without a bulletproof vest. I can't believe that I was on the rifle team in New York City high school. They had rifle teams in the basement. I tell it to a Mexican friend of mine. He can't believe it. He sort of picture me on with the rifle team with the Mossberg twenty two. In my book, savage life. And he said that was you with a gun in high school. Yeah. No one killed anyone. We didn't use drugs. He couldn't believe that there were five rifle teams and five New York City, high schools when I was a kid, look what they ought today. It's drugs. It's got to do with drugs, primarily, they're all on antidepressants, which make them of violent, you talk about vaccines should be focused instead on Prozac Prozac like compounds serotonin reuptake inhibitors of the most dangerous drugs ever invented, because when the drug wears off, meaning when it could no longer prevent the serotonin from being reuptake take it up. And you body screaming for more serotonin can't produce it. People go berserk. They kill themselves to kill others. It's dangerous as Oxycontin this classic drugs, as are you not going to believe it because you didn't read it New York Times one day, you'll read it and say, you know that talk show what was his name. He said that a long time ago. You know, the guy who said bought his language and culture. You know the guy calling liberalism is a mental disorder. You know that guy you know that guy. Okay. Let's take some callers here on the Savage Nation. Everyone's a winner. Chris at Argun line four. You're a winner. What's on your mind? Difficulty in their life, and he went on and on and on talking about how everything's easier they have more TV's more phones, mall, this stuff, and he missed the entire point, which is that what you mean as usual. You mean he missed missed the essence of the conversation as usual, isn't that what you mean? Correct. So what you're, you're a millennial and what is your position? That our society's been a road it's been generated and it's done so merely because people didn't want to speak out. They didn't want to call the racist or they didn't want to be called this that the other. They wanted their little gadgets and they wanted them. So they didn't mind buying product from China. Very Dacian of our society has voted because people are the generation has let it happen for consumer goods for tcm for the bowl of soup they sold that birthright. So what would your solution be as miss them? Eleni call you Mr. millennial. What's your solution? Not by anything from China. Well, it's not specifically China. How do you reconstruct the society? That's been completely destroyed. Right. That's right. Has been destroyed from within and you could point fingers at an awful lot of individuals Clinton permitted the export of many of our manufacturing plants. Do you know that the Chinese moved and tie manufacturing plants out of the mid west China when they were rebuilding, and it should have been stopped? There were so many things that I know that confirm sorry confirm, what you're saying, but how do we go back now that the bond door's been opened the question. I don't know that we can't. And that's so what you're a millennial guy, you're blaming the boomers for the destruction of America you mean Marley as well as ethically. Correct. Essentially morally more more than anything else. They sold their moral out for consumer goods spoil. That's very interesting. Now that, that Ave shit is key is keen, very keen. You're a millennial who resents the boomers for being generous in other words. Absolutely. You're saying.

And I'm going, by the way, it was a good thing because you came with a steamer trunk filled with your books, and after there was a talkback or something the next day about the play and whatever and the theater was filled and there must have been a line of two hundred people there waiting for you to sign their books, so you made out, okay? I'm glad you made the trip. But, you know there was there was a big banner in that roundabout that circular area. You have all. Yes. Limerick. Don't tell me anything you want me to forget Limerick welcomes the McCord family and that starts some controversy because there are people even today in Limerick that are embarrassed by being exposed for being such miserable. So and so's and because it was the situation predates, any social services. There was no but before family you are pouring too bad. You know, manager die. You that's your choice.
