"At Lincoln high school, her uncle gave her one piece of advice when you go to high school, you're going to demand to be a math major when you go see that concert. He was referring to the public schools tracking systems. You can take college prep classes or be placed on vocational track and Mexican American students generally put in the vocational courses to prepare them for things like factory or secretary work. You'll have grace for college. So Yoli demanded to be placed in math classes, and I could tell it was different. Because my my friends who didn't insist we're taking typing and a little bit of bookkeeping, and we're all in the home economics. I was I would never see them at university. My girlfriends. In the fall of nineteen sixty seven Bobby newly began their last year at Lincoln high. And that's when they slow danced on that December night. That night. We we we hung out to the rest of the evening and then week sex of that we started getting closer and closer. And Kenneth unsaid words, but it was kind of exclusively seen in talking to each other. He started talking more and more over the phone. They had classes together, and you only would call Bobby at seven in the morning to wake up for school, Bobby, you know, he was in my class. And I don't think there was a day in class where he didn't crack Joe, and they would March him up to the front of the room. And just Ben over grab your knees. And boom. Get paddle lobby is use run center. What you're hearing is a scene from the two thousand six HBO film. Walkout would I do? You know, the rules, which is based on the events in the east side schools nine hundred sixty eight bobby's character gets into trouble with the teacher. I just like only said he swatted in front of the class. With yoli's character watching as the wanna be tough. So you don't wanna complain too much. Thinking. Wow. You know, I could take this in a go ahead. Hit me if you're gonna break me or anything. But.

"The theme song. Welcome back. Rick Ramal, the inforce Yoli. And if you just joined us, we've been talking about Bernie Sanders and Tucker Carlson strange bedfellows. Indeed, both suggesting that we should tax big corporations who pay low wages to employees that have to utilize the safety net in order to supplement or make ends meet because their wages are so low. It's in a way to sort of circumvent the. Yes. The. The resistance to a higher minimum wage, I suppose, but that's the argument that that in fact, we should penalize these corporations. And I it seems wrong headed to me because it seems to look the ideas of a work based income it seems to me that the market auto control that lets you have to say, let's go to Nico in Clayton, New Jersey. Nicole you on talk radio twelve ten. Hi, how you doing good? So I guess I I wanna start with the fact that I do agree that like large corporations should have some sort of. I guess sense of responsibility for the general public. There's a social responsibility aspect to corporate America. I believe I agree with you. Yeah. General matter. Thing. I do not agree with as I don't think using a tax penalty. What did exactly be a solution? I do feel like they're speaking more on a politician side of things because yes, they're saving the government and expense. But I don't think the public. They're trying to speak for is actually going to see any results from that action. I think that's I think that is absolutely right. I think that it doesn't encourage then. Well, the theory would be that they would rather than pay the tax much like I guess in ObamaCare rather than pay the penalty, you would provide the insurance right or rather than pay the tax you would raise your wages. So that these people would then no longer be eligible for. Welfare. I think that's the argument. Right. But I think it does penalize it to me. It's too. It's just too much against the free market. And that's that's problematic. Yeah. And I can agree with that. I even have some relatives that worked for WalMart and some of them with the wages are making. They actually don't qualify now. As is. So there's you're now you're thinking of a demographic of people that doesn't even apply to them in that scenario. Right. And that's part of the issue. Appreciate the call. Nico. Jackie and pens Ville, you're on talk radio twelve ten. How you doing, sir? Okay. Well, taking the other end of it. They give the tax breaks. Maybe they can get a better types breath, yet they can prove that the up the wages because like you said, you can't strong arm and to do that. Sweeten the pot because I will tell you have no relatives of WalMart five. We'll tell you. What goes on? Gloucester cabbie? And there is a WalMart. You go in their father clock clock at night. Forecasters open, and here's Bobby thirty people on line twelve people reach line, and they're all filled. They can't say that they're not making it and I want to punish him. But they need. So you think so you you're gonna take that you would like to see a higher minimum wage are better wages, but then. But doesn't the market drive that what would here's here's Mark Martikan zigzag? Okay. Okay. I'm I'm a retired. Now, I got a job subsidy job. At a school. That's about twenty five minute ride for me. And wages about twelve dollars an hour. And I tell me when I work six hours not four because the gas at the coffee on in taxes is kind of like, what do I really wanna to do it now? Right. So I it's a it's a the problem of expenses. How many kids have a car at my daughter had one job? I was taken to four hours a day come on now. So either way I mean, the resolve because the net income is never going to either is worth minimum wage. Well, yeah. No, I hear you Jackson. And part of the issue is you've got a combination of low wages and higher costs. And that's a bad combination right now, of course, an increased rate of inflation increase interest rates in that can that can wreak havoc on somebody who's barely making it. So it's weird. Because it would it would seem to me that that Sanderson and Carlson actually have it backwards. Right. So. Companies like WalMart and Amazon McDonald's they're not being subsidized by taxpayers because some of their employees receive assistance from safety net programs actually employers of lower wage workers. I think actually reduces I said the safety net roles in the absence of these kinds of jobs. More people not fewer would be getting government assistance. At least that's how I see it. And so. It doesn't and by the way. Right. This is the logic here. I don't know that that's not true. That's where the logic here actually works. Because if if I don't know Amazon is employee on Medicaid and taxpayers are subsidising Amazon and at the same time. Someone like Bernie Sanders is saying, well, let's have a single payer national healthcare quote, Medicare for all should we then say that any national health care program is nothing more than a multi trillion dollar tax payer subsidy to business, and that's not true. Right. And so food stamps artist subsidy to business, that's what they're saying that they're they're a subsidy to business, and that's not true. I think the reality is that these jobs are designed to get people into the workforce, and hopefully then move up from there. And of course, that's going to be on them. If that's what they choose to do. But if you don't get them into the workforce. They don't need to come into the workforce at at the top job or the top wage rate. Let's just get them into the workforce. If we need to continue to subsidize that while they are making their way, eventually at least through work. They will then come off those. And I think that's the that's to me the result here. I don't think you wanna go taxing business more. I don't want to regulate business. More certainly want to encourage them. And you want people to go into the Johnson seems to me a backwards way of doing it. And I'm surprised that both Tucker Carlson as well. As Bernie Sanders. You know agree on this. But there seems to be a bigger issue. Here is something to pay attention to is the right now starting to take aim at large business. Which would be very fascinating approaching deed, considering that that would be usually the purview of the folks. Like Bernie Sanders on the left. Hey, listen, make sure by the way that you join rich Yolly when he gets back because he's going to be hosting a legal and political analyst for Fox News. Greg Jarrett to discuss Greg's book the Russia hoax, the elicit scheme to clear Hillary Clinton and framed Donald Trump, the speaker series event will take place.

"Yoli's on talk radio leave phd so what's remarkable to me is that the left continues yelling about nato today the president at nato it's a little bit annoying how they're all acting on this but you realize that when you have people like john brennan and others coming around going the president was disgraceful at nato for telling germany that they shouldn't buy so much of russia's energy you realize how far we've gone from any sort of sense of logic here which is why they're still looking at the way that they can get president trump out of office you know and they think the way they're going to do it now is by possibly using they're still banking on muller so when the question was asked of whether or not cavenaugh brett cavanaugh would in fact be a supreme court justice who would give trump pass they all jumped on that as their issue is your supreme court pick who might help trump with russia by tom moran in new jersey nj dot com judge brad kavanagh president trump's nominee for the supreme court had one thing going for him that none of the others on president trump shortlists could match he alone is on record in writing saying that he believes no president should be subject to criminal investigation while in office he wrote that an a two thousand nine article in the minnesota law review and trump's team of course read it and considered it before cavanaugh was chosen his two thousand nine writing did not go so far as to suggest that current law shields the president he was urging congress to pass such laws so it does not definitively indicate how he might rule on any of the big questions related to the russian investigation but it does offer clues about his state of mind and underscores the danger that he would defer to any effort trump makes you derail this investigation as the heat rises among the questions that could land before the court are these kennedy president before to testify as part of a criminal investigation can he be indicted if so kenny pardon himself can you pardon key witnesses to undercut the investigation kenny obstruct justice or is he within his rights as head of the executive branch shut down the investigation all of that is unsettled law now realized that this is their new theme now this is the new theme they're trumpeting out there all over the place cory booker the grandstand or himself says he believes this opinion may cavenaugh the shining pearl for trump among the final list of two dozen possible nominees quotas the one person the president could find on that list would be the most assured rule in his favor how exactly how how does that work realize as i explained you earlier today judge cabinet has the most liberal interpretation of the impeachment clause with his idea that dastardly acts can can in fact be impeachable offenses dastardly acts they're not meant to be desperately acts he's wrong i'm at durres she's right i'm matt levine's right on matt and kavanagh's wrong he's wrong i mean justices can be wrong obviously they've been wrong a lot to our nation's history and he's wrong point but he's right on the point that presidents cannot be criminally indicted but that's also the justice department's own ruling back in the nineteen ninety s during the bill clinton impeachment trial when the justice department render a decision as did with nixon too that presidents really cannot be indicted while in office they have to be impeached and removed i it's been a long standing precedent in this country it's not settled law per se because that's how the left always acts right you know what i'm saying with the left until the supreme court rules on something it's not settled do you realize that until the supreme court renders it's mighty judgement from on high it remains to be unsettled law that's not how it works in our republic by the way we don't wait for them to all pine before you decide if laws settled or not they don't have a third check on it's not how it works so many people have this wrong ever since marbury v madison which is one of the supreme court decided we have constitutional review over laws they gave themselves up our twice as chief justice john marshall was one of the worst things ever happened to the judiciary for that reason but i but i mentioned that because a lot of people believe wrongly that congress passes a law it goes to the president he signs it and then it goes to the supreme court.
