He's a winner of album of the year eight times. I think maybe it's more. And if i have to share all his awards we'll never get to the podcast melissa with her. Incredible focus on customer service organizational skills. And she's an outstanding presenter is another one was a leader in education. They complement each other. So well and their leaders in education and support for an industry that that all of us including all four of us on this podcast loved so dearly. Now i have to admit it's tough for me to do this introduction because i know them both so well and we've shared so much time together over the years and a lot of lass. So let's get to the podcast talk about the challenges of the pandemic working with your spouse growing together as a couple. And i'm willing to bet that even puppies they're gonna come up in the topic to saw jerry. Melissa this is going to be the cue for your lips to actually move here walker business. Thank you for having us. Thank you so much fun. Catching up to you and yeah. I already promised a couple of stories that i wouldn't tell so. This is what happens story disciplines. I love the puppy. Should definitely come into it. The puppies has kept us sane. This year that is for sure your to. Let's kick it off with our favorite first question just in case univer listeners. Don't know who you both are. Tell us how you got started doing what you're doing. Tell us about your background. Ladies first well. I started photography. I in nineteen ninety nine. So it's been a long time and just started as a as a side king while i had a day. Job and photographed weddings on the side and on the weekends and loved it and just started doing it more. And more and then i started continuing. My education was going to workshops and conventions and eventually went full time. And then i had a wedding and portrait studio in boston. That's where i got my start. And that's where i was born and raised and Did that for many years. And then about eleven years after that. After i got started and was all settled. I met this ustralian. Photographer met him. Because i went to a seminar and fell in love with his work and completely changed. My work went to his workshop and he completely changed my business and became our bomber career. My favorite is gillian And it was the first time i had met jerry and so we became friends for many years and i would see him at different conventions like wpi and that kind of thing and then years later we after that we reconnected Because in we had both gotten divorced by then and we're working on our own and We started talking. And then i just sold everything in boston. Moved to australia. Got married and we decided to start working together. And that's what we've been doing. Ever since we talked briefly when we first got together about running you know concurrent businesses. Because i had my business setup. He had his but that quickly went out the window. And i i really loved the business side of it even more than the creative side. And no one's more creative than jerry so we actually fit together like a glove when we got together and It's been ten glorious years. Ever since jerry always get my camera at the edge of fifty my first camera and i excuse me fill in love with the croft. I became obsessed shot every genre. Possibly imagine to work out which direction going I did what. I had to do to pass high school but anew onto photographer so i just had fun and played around and did what i did. After high school. I worked at a few camera shops. There was a four year cost that that wanted to do and after a year. I quit that photography coast because that would teach me what. I call the algebra photography and i prefer street-smart. I'm not. I'm not citius. Books might kind of guy. I just want to learn in the action of doing the work and so i did that. I quit and then i approached the studio that was very popular at the time walked in. I said i'm going to hold your bags. I don't want to get paid. Just let me let me see what you do. And i did that for about a year and a half with no pay And then i work for that company for about three and a half years. I started my business. Ninety seven At the back of charcoal chicken to go foods stool In the in the peak of the recession australia interest rates with twenty eight percent Family we lost family home. I'm going home and now the water got turned off guest. Ten off turned off the car. That was my brother's got repossessed. And here i am. Nineteen year old literally with nothing and but i built this business Literally from a first year doing twenty five weddings Than fifty weddings a year after one hundred weddings and then i convinced the landlord above the building to to actually build a second level above the building. Such may yet convinced him a year to build and then we built this. Probably one of australia's largest studios At my paper was doing a one hundred weddings personally I studio was doing three hundred weddings and countless portraits and built that business. My brother bought into it. Some not ninety-seven. I sold that business. Employees lebron another in two thousand and seven So on basically my twenty seven years shooting professionally teaching professionally For twenty years Moved to the us Met this incredible. Women are probably the most will probably the most beautiful woman i've ever met in my life. We got married about almost ten years ago and life has been critical of a

"Malcom gladwin is a stone cold genius who loves A grade sports argument. I went onto bill. Simmons podcast and I had this totally ludicrous thing that I want to talk about. Which was I was like? Could a basketball team made up of Nigerians? An all time basketball team made up of Nigerians be the greatest basketball time and then I ended it. I amended until as I said all right I have to corollaries one is. I'm going to add west Indians because almost Indians not all mostly I'm Jamaican. Where am I what am I people from? We're from originally like I'm Ibo right most Jamaicans cable so I add the Caribbean and then I said and just refund. That's also add the rest of Southern Africa and then I construct the students. Tony Ridiculous Caribbean so busy. I say out can Africa and the Caribbean put together an all time team. It's better than an african-american team a euro team at a white American team. It's the third one. Maybe not. The answer is yes. We don't have time to do this but I will convince you. I can't convince you to Africa and the Caribbean in basketball. All Time team and also your co you qualify by or Nigeria. Will I started? I start with all of ethnic did not all? I'm only adding. I added Southern Africa. 'cause I WANNA have Steve Nash and Joel Embiid on my team. Wade Steve Nash. Born in Johannesburg. He's Canadian. No my rule is that you. Are you qualify? Virtue of your parents. Place a birth. So get all of Steve. Nash Who Play Thompson. Really? He's Bamyan are are are taking. Tim. Nash I got a back court of Nash and Thomson. I got a frontcourt of Dunkin embiid. Jaanus Patrick Ewing forward a okay. Right right right right from the islands. This really is in the island. This team is insane when Patrick's coming off the bench. But how just doesn't matter but Kim Jaanus and but sure but but the other team has Lebron Kobe. Japan Michael I know. Just for starters and Steph curry just restarting Potanin Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell. Just just try go ahead. That's the African American teachers. Try Playing Lebron Jordan. Notice what we doing that thing ooh together. Thomas can't come in and Magic Johnson coming in. Can I read this out rushing your your appetite? Engineer Crushes Team Sport Play. You cannot Jordan Jordan and abroad and Kobe on the court at the same time out of your mind. You have all centers you have one forward you have you have guards and a bunch of centers. You got a problem with that because the modern game nobody in the known you already. Janis on Lebron an WHO's covering Jordan who's covering stats got covering step. I got clay and Andrea Diallo. Who in their day or two of the greatest lockdown defenders of the last twenty five years in the NBA? I got a clay and national or two of the pure as shooters and I have argued with the greatest defensive front court in the history of basketball. I Have Yoenis Hekim Akeem Patrick embiid. I mean I have wilt Bill Russell Shack. It's close by. Queen is not close if I had if I was restricted to white Americans. Then maybe may point so I do it as long ludicrous. It's ludicrous ludicrous. Alexander Waske: Tour Coach and Academy Owner

"High Alexander Functions. Tennis podcast thank you great to have you on board are I. Came across of the Alexander Voskan Tennis University as I saw on bags around some tournaments. I saw some coaches walking around two bags. I'd never heard of it before and I was always curious so I went off and did some research and this was last year so I've been falling ever since I've posted some your videos. I have you on our academy our top academy lists so it's great to finally speak to you. Thanks for that like just going to your resume. So you've worked with some cray players to pass speed caregiver meltzer Haas Bryan Curtis and even. Now you're working with some great players on especially let's say on the juniors who working with Yoenis four Tek who won grand slams last year such a great junior strokes are amazing anytime we posted on functional tennis. It's really amazing on. You're also working with a couple of the players on the Belgium Davis Cup team lower still lower Bella Mons on. Yeah few more. You're doing you're busy not me. We are a team here. So it's it's not me. We're working together with a couple of professionals here. So tennis coaches fitness coaches therapists. It's always a team effort here. Tell me cut me. Where's IT based in Germany? We Are Approximately fifteen to twenty minutes from Frankfurt Airport which is in my opinion great location as the International Airport. Gets you anywhere in the world and mostly direct flights? So you're in the center of Europe with Germany and Frankford is the center of or the middle of Germany so it's easy for us too excess anything here in Europe and even long fights I mean everything or usually everything has direct so we save a lot of time. By by this and also frankfort spend my hometown. So I've been I grew up here. I know the area Illinois everything here. So that's why we here. It's great to be in such a central. He'll be juniors playing tennis Europe term and Sir. Itf Tournaments Futures Challenges could hope to be. There's so much going on in Europe and also for the flights as you mentioned but tell me about Your Academy your facility. How many courts you have. What's your setup like? They're always thought of two thousand and ten. I started very very tiny. We had one player and one coach We built this from scratch. We are here working at the Federation. We have four. Indoor rebound ace courts we outdoor rebound escorts and then outdoors. We have also a five day. Courts we have a gym. We have ten rooms to sleep For people that come in for a weekly base now. We have other options for our long-term customers that can save an hour to you house. That is a bit outside of the sites and Ben. We have other apartments as well so everything is basically here on site visit therapy and everything that we need. The restaurant So yeah it's it's not the largest site we can't compare this to the large European academies like more talk no and Ross. We look for very high quality on our courts I think which even that so far I think the small academy the Smaller Academy sorry not too big more look more commercially cutting small and seem to have a better more family atmosphere on something you mentioned. Is You like to build character in the players? You work which can you tell me what you mean by building character with your players. You know if you're getting young people in here. Having a lot of influence has left rights errands media friends other players and so on at the end of the day. I believe that's building a good character and I'm gonNA come back to. That will make them successful people. Nobody can guarantee professional career of them making millions of euros in stuff like this but if they are hot working if they are focused if the discipline if they work hard on reaching their goals if they take a setback if they take a loss get back up on their on their feet and try it again and again and again and again. This kind of character will succeed in life so I think that our number one priority or our number one job is to create personalities that will succeed in life and then they will always be happy that they've been here No matter hulk with a end up in Tennessee great. And how do you do you give me an example? So we set clear rules It's also a lot about talking to the kids making them understand why we do certain things and for ten years. I've been busting my Thoughts to get an atmosphere here where everybody works hard and all the kids that we have now and I'm really happy about this really into getting better so you can always spend your whole day playing computer games. You can spend your whole day going out at night drinking Blah Blah Blah or you generate an atmosphere where everybody works hard and if there's one kid that does work hard the other kids don't want to practice with him because it's it's also for their benefits for their practice so I think that we Getting there that the intensity here is very high that there's a clear plan of how they play and that they really spend time with their game. They're strokes and a half to write a journal of what they've learned throughout the day. They have to visualize nights what they've done and the next steps that are there. We make individual plans for them. We make individual schedules and at the end of the day. You also need to have time for for the if you have fifty players to take care of at the same time. It's a zoo. So our coaches have four to six players that they take care of and I don't think that they can do more so that they have enough time to to talk to the plan to also know what kind of personality they are and what. They're struggling with what they're all right. Now tell me if somebody if I want to apply to come to your Kademi what you look for players that send you emails to say they. WanNa come train with you. What we don't do is we don't sign any contracts through the Internet. We don't do that. We have to meet the player. Find out if it's a fits. We want to see if we really like working with that player and at the other on the other hand the player has to tell. I mean usually. It's the parents that also behind this The player has to say this is where I WANNA be. This is the best place in the world. I don't want to go anywhere else and we can find a way but I I want to very very clear and strong commitment for this and this place is not perfect for everybody. I mean this other academies out there that are doing a fantastic job and Certain personalities will like this here and other personalities will prefer something else through your right if you try and fit everybody in. I think you're structures all over the place. I agree if you WanNa make you happy. You're going to generate a mess. They're going to have strict rules. I mean we are German so if you come one second late for practice your practice is over. It's it just doesn't happen you run for today. Yeah we also worked very early in the morning at seven thirty. We organized in structure. As Germs. Do Things and this is a strength. We are probably the worst dancers and other countries. Show us. How the Party will we? We're good at other things one of my best friends. Fabian is a chairman on definitely knows how to party. I didn't learn. Jeremy travelled a bit so definitely did a stint in the states. I think that's re- picked it up so you start early tomorrow to. What's a typical day so for your? Let's say for your teenagers. There's no real tip of the day because when you run a period as Asian you have weeks where you work really hard. And then you have weeks where you worked less and you regenerate more so we work up to ten sessions a week if the players practice full than they have a Monday and Tuesday where they have two sessions into fitness sessions on Wednesdays. They have Tennis session one session. Thursday Friday again to each Saturdays one tennis and Yoga. That's a tough week here but again we also have other weeks where we watched that the players are doing more mobility or region more stretching more. Physiotherapy it really depends on what's a but the week is planned for them. Take a lot of boxes there. The one thing I know. Is that the coaches care here. They really work hard. Some of them travel twenty to twenty five weeks a year with the players to tournaments. They really care. And that's what I really like Nobody here looks at the clock. All the time and says Lesson is op. I always say don't teach lessons. We coach players and different thing for me. So Time. Watching a bad characteristic. If two people are counting the time I know one player we feature quite a bit in the past two years is Yoenis four tech. He trains with you and he was world number one junior last year. One Grand Slams. How long has he been trained in? What you almost six years now. At that time we didn't really have a junior program and he was recommended to us and we had to look at him and I fell in love right away and I knew that this was probably the best hand eye coordination that I've ever seen in my life. So yeah just jump in there. Did you see the video with the wooden spoon? Yahoo hasn't I mean one of the most popular videos intenders. I would say so. You know what I'm GonNa send you a video just for you and you can post it on your side. Where he hits were the wooden stake now. Oh yes that is amazing. You can see on that. Looks like and then we have another junior now. Who's twelve and he was hitting really well with it and he did it with. Jonas and Jonas told me Alex I think the guy's better with a wooden stick me now because I haven't hit with it for a while so I think that was quite

Henry Segura found guilty of quadruple murder

"Let's begin with a case that really elite. I think the results of the case more controversial than any other trial since the relaunch of the network. Which is the case of Florida versus Henry? SA- Gurre era. Yes Henry Sequeira found guilty of wiping out an entire family and we were all on your show together and our mouths house collectively dropped absolutely stunned because you know the trial took more than a week. Lot of testimony lot of exhibits and the defense had their own theory about what happened and we were charged with the murder of brandy. Peter's girlfriend who is cheating on his wife with their child who they had together and her twin daughters the children the twins were six his little son Giovanni just three years old accused of quadruple murder but he said it was the drug cartel but the jury said otherwise. Take a listen state of Florida versus Tanneries Cigar. We the jury is follow says one of them concerning the murders brandy feeders. The jury finds the defendant is guilty of first degree murder as count two we the jury find as follows as account to indict the concern in the murder to my appears defendant is guilty of first degree murder as to count three we the jury find the defendant is guilty first grade murder as count for the jury and the defendant is guilty of first degree murder and this happened just three hours and forty five admits into deliberations. It was relatively short deliberation for the length of this trial and the complexity of it. So I along with everyone else was thinking okay probably a not guilty but it was the exact opposite it was guilty only six jurors not twelve right was Henry gerbers choice this was a retrial. At his first is trial it was eight to four for acquittal so the defense was feeling very confident. Going in they want this resolved he had served more than three thousand days in jail awaiting for a final verdict in the case and he got it and it was guilty. But what was so funny. Is that my first instinct. When there is a quick verdict is always always this is a conviction all the time because most of them are guilty? No no no that's not it. It's just formulaic laic. When there is a quick verdict it's a conviction that's it? This is just from my experience. I agree my experiences. Well Okay Okay but this time we all assumed the opposite because the defense put on such an extensive case because there was very rich in detail L. in their theory that the Mexican drug cartel did it but I think the prosecution and this also fits into our theory of how prosecutors generally are more successful during the retrials because they are able to fix their mistakes for instance. This Angel Avila Kenya's his DNA allegedly found at the crime scene. They brought in DNA specialist. Say No it wasn't his DNA so that was one thing they did. And then they you did an interview with Angel Villa Kenya's and he said no I was never there was just an actual drug trafficker okay. This was he was he was in school. Okay that's great. That's good I think you need to be accurate or listen over in Italy's our yeah. He's studying I don't know studying or machine now maybe like pharmacological studies. I really know what he's signing. But he is studying and he is in Italy Italy and better. He's in Italy than the United States number one. But number two he was an actual drug trafficker so his DNA allegedly being at. The scene was huge but again the prosecution was able to overcome that because they believe that was not his. DNA was a mixture and their specialists said. No that's not. His DNA jury believed it did not believe it was reasonable. That can Yoenis was there now. That was absolutely shocking to me right because there were so so many things. Get a couple of alleged confessions by other people involved with the case but none of it really panned out one hundred percent for the defense obviously as we see it was enough for reasonable. Doubt right right because they don't have to prove the case they have to present a reasonable alternative. Yeah so the prosecution theory question Mark Right which is what I thought perhaps could have happened. Yeah but it didn't and I believe the jury got it right but that's besides the point. Let's listen though to Henry Sager because this was a death penalty case so now. He's been convicted convicted quadruple murder and he decides to put on no defense when the issue is not guilty not guilty the issue is life life or death puts on. No Defense of the judge has to question him about it. You wish them to make argument opposition to that. And what is your thinking on Bacon socities deserved it. They feel guilty since sued. So you understand that taken. This action is gone increased likelihood as the the jury will come back recommended that penalty and ultimately order that they recommend it this. And that's what you want to have. So this is another shocking moment in this trial where it's life or death everything on the line. We have to talk about this. And he says don't make an argument for me don't present any evidence don't put on family members. Nothing says nothing to the completely uncomfortable with this decision. However ver the lead attorney Nate Prince? Yes nate prints. Nate print says that he obviously spoke to Sikora spoke to the ethics committee which all lawyers have to abide by their rules as do judges and they were okay. Hey with this idea of not presenting any type of case any type of defense and the reason behind it is that death when people aren't death. Row those appeals are looked at first that was there an amazingly the jury said life unanimously. We said like what do you think about what he did they did. I think it was an emotional reaction to the moment I think Henry Girl was you know. He spent three thousand days in in jail and his reaction to all of this and it means one of two things from my perspective but I think it was one hundred percent not strategic emotional reaction to the situation. The reaction is either one that he's completely defeated by the system. He believes he's innocent man and there's no way I'm going to get out of this so you might as well send me to death or I know what I did did and they got me. I committee quadruple murder. I deserve to be on death row. So it's one of the is the former not the latter. Well there's no way I'm not sure I'm not. I try to read the mind of a convicted quadruple murderer. Now but I'm thinking a lawyer right. I don't think that's just a I. Just don't think that was a good idea. Well it it turned out to be great and this is what I want to ask you. What does this tell us about criminal defense attorneys all right at the guilt phase? The defense puts on this incredible case. He is incredibly incredibly passionate. Witnesses is at times screaming and pleading with the jury and making all these arguments and laying out all this evidence and they find against him then in the penalty phase. He does nothing. He's tired he needs a NAB. Did you see how tired is bags under his eyes seems seems rest. He was stressed out absolutely seems like they had. The jury was making their decision. Regardless of what arguments were made by these all the time which was amazing to me in all phases sometimes jurors come up with reasons that we could not even surmise. So I I'm just. I am not happy. Happy with the strategic maneuvering but it worked out and I do believe in the end. Justice was served. Absolutely no we. We could spend a whole lot of time talking about what happens next but at the end of the day he's convicted. He has an uphill battle if he's going to win any appeal or try to get any sort of a new

"And you got a you got. Well, you have some results for the poll or is that still going to the polls still going on? And I had asked because it hasn't been made official yet who should start in goal for the jackets tonight again John Tortorella supposed to talk with the media here in about the next ten fifteen minutes. It's either Bob Corby are obviously it's Keith can Cade the three that could potentially be net tonight Bob towards the said he doesn't want going back to back. But right now fifty percent of respondents say Bob should be a net tonight versus the Boston Bruins. I doubt you'll see that if you want if I was gonna guess I'd say beyond his corporate sallow, but I think it should be Keith Cade. I'm not sure where you stand on that just because they got Kincaid at the deadline. What can they doing with them? You know, I think he's earned at least throughout his career, some honest playing time, and and what better time now than a game that you really really need. I know Bob played great last night. But if I don't. Expect him tonight than of the two Yoenis and Kincaid. Let's put in the guy that you know, has done it before just not with this team. The guy who can shut them out is the guy. I think should I would love to have that guy. Just not sure because if you get. It's a five nothing game. The third period. That's bad. Coming in tomorrow going. Okay. So they got the hurricanes on Friday, and I'll try and keep it as positive as possible. But if they get crushed tonight against the Bruins, then where the forks either coming out of the drawer, it's being like Nestle closer closer to the jackets carcass. You just you just use the word nestled. Stick it in just yet. But it's getting closer and closer to the more. They lose and again, this would be if they get they're not gonna get shut up tonight. I don't think respond. No third shot in four games. Look, really, really bad. But right now, they're second. They have the second wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference. So I guess just make the playoffs, but you'd like to climb up into the standings and try and get out of that first round match up with Tampa. But you have to do it a game at a time. So again fifty percent of respondents at six ten WTVN new say start bobbing nut. He is now what you're going to see what you could see is people coming out and saying I'm hearing reports or they've agreed to a deal, but again until four o'clock tomorrow, no deals can be signed nothing become can become official. But yeah, Levy on bell looking like the jets or the ravens next season. Which again if you're a Steelers fan now, even if you're a Browns fan. He was a nightmare for me as the buckeyes fan when he was at Michigan state. So I mean, I'm like, oh, he's going back to being a nightmare. This is a Columbus guy. You're like, wow. NBA Trade Deadline Roundup: All the action you need to know

"Now, it was a little bit quiet as well in the I would say the the two hour range before the NBA trade deadline. I was procrastinating finishing my column, of course, what else is new. And so I was looking at Twitter and refreshing and try to figure out whether or not any moves had been made. And it was eerie. It was really eerie at that point. But there was a flurry of activity right before the deadline. So in that final hour Nico mirror attached to the bucks. So they bolster their three point shooting Marcus, Saul who was very close to landing in Charlotte. Instead ends up with Toronto. If you missed my conversation with Greg Brady some morning show host on the fan five ninety. Well, we talked to him. Let me just let me just summarize my conversation with Craig Brady I asked him so with the change at head coach. And and of course, bringing in Kuwait Leonard in the off season Marta rose, and is gone now Yoenis Vallon Schuman's valid out Marcus all is in. How much has changed with the culture? This is very earnest question. Right. How much has changed with the culture of the raptors the season his response. Well, LeBron has gone. So a lot has changed. Okay. So maybe maybe the raptors are overcompensate, and maybe they're not. But I think if you look big picture Eastern Conference while we're talking about it. The fact that it's the Sixers who make the move for Tobias Harris. It's Mark assaulted the raptors at its Nico mirror attached to the bucks. These three moves are all for the here. And now they're for the present there about winning that conference. Now, I know the Celtics didn't make a move. Their lineup is got a lotta pieces that they're still trying to make sure they can get all on the same page, but no glaring weaknesses in the case of the Celtics. So you got those four teams, but the three that make the moves are about winning now. Whereas in the Western Conference monitor move here and there nothing super serious. Most of the teams as the dust settles on this trade deadline. Most of the teams. Are about positioning themselves for the future whether through shedding cap space, no shedding shedding cap commitments and making cap space. Aiming is what happens when you talk to fasten a Friday morning and get excited and also shedding, unwanted or bad contracts. So that's the idea for most of the teams in the NBA. And I mentioned this stat. I got it for Matt Moore NBA insider for the action network who joined us on our last show the possibility is there for forty percent of the NBA to be in free agency in a few months forty percent. And we're talking about massive names now. Kevin Durant could be part of that conversation, or he could not Klay Thompson could be part of that conversation or he could not. Jimmy, Butler, probably going to be part of that conversation. So there there's some ebbs and flows there as well. Where you don't exactly know, which guys will sign contracts to stay where they are in which guys will actually hit free agency. But generally, the big names wanna be wooed. They want wanna be booed. And so there's a lot of potential for the balance of power to shift in the off season at it. I think it's pretty obvious. When you look at the NBA in his trade deadline that most of the moves that were made were not about. Now, they're about down the road. A handful of these teams in the east because the east is I don't want to say, it's a wide open. But there are a few teams there that you feel like it wouldn't be a huge surprise if they ended up winning the conference and getting to the NBA finals. Everybody gets a trophy. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. You know, what that actually makes me think of the whole winning and losing the trade deadline. So you in the east or all? Where for the most part the rest of you want wall. So coming up, we're going to talk a little more about the night in the NBA. Because even though the Lakers did not get Anthony Davis. And I think you look back now, and you realize the pelicans were screwing with them. They weren't actually interested in making a deal with the Lakers. They just wanted to see how much they could get it. As it turns out, even with the extra picks and five bodies, they weren't going to make that deal. They didn't want to make that deal. What they wanted to see is how much the Lakers were willing to offer. And now how can we spin that forward into a potential offer for the Lakers in the off season? But also, how can we use that to get packages from say the Celtics or if he was serious about the buck side of the clippers. So we're talking about really just using that desire that desire to bring an Anthony Davis against them. The pelicans will play Davis the rest of the way. So at least we have that question answered. But what about the Lakers the damage has been done? I get that the moves were made. But the fact that LeBron and Magic Johnson LeBron's agent were willing to literally slice and dice the locker room and ship half of his teammates out. That's not something that you get over quickly. It's not. And so the deadline may be passed. But the drama remains. Although a buzzer beater, sometimes it can help make

"Players only type of night on TNT raptor. Seventy Sixers followed by heat blazers and we're happy to welcome someone who will be in studio tonight for that double header w NBA MVP all-star champion two time guests on the starters. Now can't as far. Guys. Sorry about the patch. Yeah. It's not contagious. I want you to know that school. Exactly, we got a lot of puns going look as we know on Thursday. We're going to get the LeBron and Yoenis drafting the all star teams. And this is something that you actually have some experience with your one of the rare professional athletes that can say that because you drafted for the all star teams part of the WNBA game you stepped up and took that role. Do you have any tips for anyone? They're drafting a team like this or what was your experience? Like, well, I the tip. I I took my teammate verse does, you know, it's it's you know, that's how it is heard. I I wouldn't want anybody else on my team. But then from there, I see more of like a free agency push. Okay. Keno like people have agendas, I had an agenda as well. So you know, you pick with who you really wanna play with and you go from there. So I can see like LeBron possibly maybe selecting Anthony Davis. What he gets to the reserves. Of course, he's going to do the starters versus he might select Anthony Davis and just refuse to select any want any of the starters. Maybe Irving could he be in play here. He can be. I mean, I think that there's going to be. I mean, LeBron is always calculated with what he's doing. Yes. He knows what he's doing. Did you enjoy the the idea of it? Although getting a chance to draft the like, I don't like the pressure, and although I really liked it. Because I think it's more like how do you grow up playing basketball, you go out on the ground and people draft teams if you win and you get to draft again, if not then you go sit down take your ball. And hope nobody wants that kind of brought that feel back to it. And so I love the way the NBA. Now, if it was broadcast on television, Lou that'd be a little tough though. But little more difficult. You don't wanna get picked last like, I think the person that gets picked lash get like a car or some type of they've done that before thinking the NHL. An NBA play a needs Zico messaged in that situation. Can you imagine going back to your city, and you gotta take and the all star game. Pose an all-star. I still would be too bothered by it. I think there should a lucky this year because we've got the legacy votes. Now, the guy's in there in Wade and Dirk Nowitzki they're going to be the final two guys. One of is going to be the final pick. I don't think they're going to care that much. If it starts, right? Right. Yeah. Yeah. Pick before them was really good point. That's true. One thing that WNBA game did though that we've talked about a little bit in the past that we'd like to see what the NBA is. They got rid of the conferences when it came to actually just voting for the players. I think there was only something like six Eastern Conference players and a lot more, of course, from the west. Did you like that idea? And do you think the NBA should adopt that in there too? And I think eventually the NBA should adopt like a super conference, I know because of miles and all that stuff, and honestly every owner has to vote for it. So there's different things in the way that will prevent that. But it's great because I think the best play the best in the championship and the best all-stars no matter where you're from..

"Honest. We've got about Yoenis. But yeah, I mean Denver's gonna probably will finish with the top two or three record in the NBA. And he's hosted triple double every night reality is that team has been hampered with injuries. And he's been the only consistency in that lineup. So there's no real way you add up this success with taking Jokic out. So he's he's in the conversation. But I mean James harden is I mean, he's more walking away with that bad. Boy fact moonwalk show me your moonwalk. Okay. Michael Jordan or wait Wackle Jordan wolves Michael Jackson, same difference. Both goats heavy with another. Rudy Gobert, we'll show up and cry at the all star game know, that's not funny. Ryan Hollins, this is so first of all when I heard people were really ripping on rooting by people. I mean, Draymond green and Andre etc. Now, I know both the you do, and I really appreciate what y'all doing how hard you play. But don't shame that man for crying. Because clearly, and every athlete. No, Ryan, you know, this, and you I can guarantee this has happened to you. We have all had those frustration tears now they happen sometimes in the game they happen. Sometimes when you're talking about things to media, usually we can mask them people think oh this wedding. Or are. They matters the heated, but sometimes you know, you get emotional you can feel that emanating from behind your face. I don't blame Rudy Gobert again for showing his emotions why are we going to shame a man for showing that he cares about his playing. Now, he also had a good clap back because I think he said he tweeted dream on. It was like, oh like you were crying. The last the finals right out shoot. Like, that's how you got like clapback. Well, I mean, I don't know if they did they plan the whole sound bit of his when he when he did cry because I think a lot of it has to be based on his conversation. What is mom? Yes. About. It wasn't about him or his game. Yeah. A hundred percent. Yeah. Right. Bobby because it was literally them like, oh, and he's like my mom calls me. And she was crying. And then, you know, as a man he was like choked up because his mom, my mom called me crying. I'm going to cry. Ryan. Crying that. He all all-star, mama. You gotta get your priorities. Right. Dang. It. Y'all live at good over there. I I mean, I I hope this is I hope it's not family business. But I hope it's family business because these five priorities are messed up right now. Look man, you cried about not being ause. I hope I hope it. I'm addressing this. I hope there's nothing bigger going on. But I mean hot dang it. Look they were garbage the Utah Jazz were hot garbage to start the euro. And if you upset that you didn't make the all star game after being hot garbage after disappointing after everybody picked you to be second or third in the west and watch out for Utah. Not all star. There should be no surprise there. And I like I said, I hope but I don't hope that there's a different meaning behind this. Well, and I I would have rather than Rudy Gobert mom cry than Anthony Davis dad spout off like he did on Friday night Bank, which was totally out of bounds. Because. I hope Mr. Davis understands what the business of the NBA is in that. There was there would have been thirty NBA teams that would've signed off on trading is Ahah Thomas. Irving. Oh, and that's not just how Boston treats people. So I understand what's going on right now where people are trying to poison the well, yes. On and have a an agenda, which I certainly he has an agenda right now. He wants to direct the way his son goes, and he wants to shut down any kind of rumor like, oh, this is better for him. Actually know the reality is though,.

"What does he like seventh or eighth ninth? He was ninth. Okay. Draft the eighth pick by the Detroit Pistons of Brandon Knight. Any seven pitch of the Sacramento Kings, biz MAC Biondo, still hanging around. Yeah. Hanging around and Kemba Walker give give give me the rest of that draft. Number one was Cairo Irving. Okay. That worked out pretty well by Cleveland, number two, Derrick Williams by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Well, NS Kanter by the Utah, Jazz number three Tristan Thompson by the Cleveland Cavaliers again, Yoenis Valentinus, but the Toronto Raptors player yon vessel lay. Of the Washington Wizards at number six beyond bow by the Sacramento Kings, Brandon Knight by the pistons, and then camber walls, it that something Mitch you read that list and everybody knew about kyri, even though he played like eleven games games in college eleven to be precise. And they were wrong about him but Campbell they up. Is so wonderful that this has happened to them. It's it's it's it's again, these are the stories that we love in sports. This is this is not, you know, obviously, he went in the first round in an it. What was? Listening to Mitch a pretty weak draft. So it isn't Tom Brady going to the patriots. But when he goes out there for the tip and Charlotte. There are an awful lot of people in New York City who will be cheering. You mentioned. We do have to spend a couple minutes on the heart and phenomenon is he having a phenomenon surfaced that will Chamberlain Bobby other than well scoring fifty for a season. I cannot remember anything comparable to this statistically and personally all of my years love in the NBA. No, we lived through the great Jordan era. We live through Kobe who put up some big. This is interesting. And of course, what's surfaced this week that makes us a fascinating discussion. Artistically? But we want in sports what we like about this game three of us like this game. And he he he is a trouble. He's he said troubling insertion into the dialogue in. I don't know what the number so huge he has not had an assisted basket for him in weeks, and you know, two hundred and some odd well well over two hundred baskets, he another way it's all the solo act. It's all step, you know, clear out for me, and it's works, and by the way, they're winning as a result. But it's just so into to what we think is the game of five, you know. I mean, he he he gives it up. He he's had what he had that fifty point fifteen assist game. But the idea that all his baskets come from him dribbling dribbling building building. And then either a going to the basket or be taken that step back three or and only rarely is there a sea. And of course, he gets fouled. And he go any makes them. But, but it's not when you got I know when I first became aware of this phenomenon it it. It bothered me. Now, am I know because it we've talked about it here and Mike Mike put it. Well, I think that he's the most unwatchable excellence that you can imagine he there's like teeth gnashing as you watch him play. And and I feel the same way and that we've all studied the same numbers. And yes, you can't deny winning is what it's all about. But winning it all is what it's really all about. And I just don't think that design gets you to the four winds in the NBA finals. I think it gets you all the way to the conference championships almost every year..

"League and Vince Carter and Yoenis recently swapping threads. I wanted to know what oldie and youngster would you like to see swap jerseys? Also, if you're in the league who would you want to swap jerseys with and you've got to try and avoid obvious players like superstar players like LeBron James. I think that's fair. I would probably rights are writer in here would probably swap jerseys with JV you own a cell in favor of actors players ever. And a dude who I feel it'd be super Chile. This Email from Josh in Chicago. So a big GV fan, and yeah, the two questions there who do you wanna see in the league right now, an oldie in a youngster swap jerseys? And who would you want to get a jersey from who wants to get started? We've been talking a lot about the Mavericks. So I would like to see Dirk and Luca out there before a game or after a game, I suppose just trading jerseys. I mean, it doesn't make sense they're on the same team. But I think we need the symbolic nature of the official passing of the torch the passing of the jersey. Now, we know they each have each other's framed jersey hanging in their house. I don't mind I don't mind it before he got injured. I would like to see JJ Berea, and Ben changed his what you just for the photo opportunities. It's with these gigantic peaky Wilson on with the two fingers on each side holding up the smaller Berea. That plays into why I would trade jerseys with Damian Lillard because the size would be. I mean, it's bigger than me. But not monstrously bigger than me. You always want zero jersey. That's cool. That's unique. He can go play some roulette wearing that and blazers always have a nice color way OS and he's pretty chill, dude. So it would be a chill situation as our key millers. "Teeth or after the season or more likely in two thousand twenty. That will be interesting. And that's the thing that's probably keeping guys from a platoon role. And because it's just hard to sell when contracts are so short that you're going to be playing fewer minutes per game. And not able to get those numbers are team's going to be able to place value on that and can play with the teams are gonna place value on that. Eighteen point eight minutes. A game is Yoenis balance the CEO, and he's producing pretty much the same numbers rebounding numbers that'll dumb, but per per game. He's scoring at the same rate that he was last year when he was playing twenty two minutes a game. I think JV has maximized what he can be in the two thousand eighteen nineteen NBA just just about. Yeah. I still think there's a little bit by Bill to shoot more threes. And the thing is though even this year he's been he's been better than he's ever been this year in the minutes that he plays like he punishes teams down low. Now, he he can shoot out to comfortably out to eighteen occasionally can shoot from three. Like, I think there's still room for him to get better in terms of just skill and shooting, but how much can you plan and when we get down to the end of the season, and we get down to what's going to cause the raptors problems where do you attack them once the playoffs start? I still think it's going to be the center position. It's going to be a buck. It's going to be valid unison those guys that could be a problem for this team when you get down to it. And that's. Why the minutes with PASCAL document center? I'm so excited. Ben, then they had a real big run with them against Indiana last week. I believe and that he started against Cleveland. But if you didn't watch that game. That's okay. We we've learned is hard to watch all the Tracy Jordan movie hard to watch Cleese Cleveland cavilers. It's really not. It's not attractive, but that lineup held the Pacers to eleven points in another in the fourth quarter another comeback win. And I'm not ready to say that it was all because the outcome was that center. But it was very switch happy, you know, when you have Ceac Amana nobody and quiet they're like, and Danny green long strong guy. Maybe we don't really have a problem with if if the other team doesn't have a really dominant center as much as you know, I love Savona. So he's he's not he's not Joel it back. He's not he's not going to crush you. The idea when they traded for kuwa- that was one of the most fascinating ideas about this team is you've got OG who strong, by the way OG is big. He. "Thousand percent out this year the the price could sink i just didn't care because i didn't want to deal with the headache i even was like he could basically be when he's been the last two years i don't want the headache d of richhill anywhere and if so how are you dealing with the headache this year sammy i do have them in one league in the greek fantasy invitational so he's just been taking up permanent residence on my deal but i'll say this i'm actually back in on ritual right now and the reason is is because whoever owns him is sick and tired of his nonsense they're true they're ready to just drop this guy and i think the big thing with hill is that on his rehab assignment they noticed honeycutt noticed on video that hills alignment toward home was faulty and so he he kind of suggested that he transfer the weight on his back foot from his total is he'll and that connecticut judgment really started doing wonders for hilly's strike in a bunch of people out on his rehab assignment cleaned up his motion he said that it helped him get it spin right back on his curve ball and if you look at what he's done since he got back from the deal from all that he has four walks against twenty six strikeouts he is doing great and so i think the skill is there for richhill you look into season stats he's over four fifty are a over one thirty seven whip and you're like dude this guy's not healthy or good i think retail is good and i think you could get him in trade for nothing if you have a spot you can stash them on the do i'm i think he's one of those guys that could provide you you know not a ton of innings but say seventy really quality innings in the second half and i think there's a lot of value in that nice sammy's buying rich hill i'm in okay okay okay listen here's a quality starter and those are difficult to find so i i can't rule it out and especially in some leagues where people are probably dealing with like eighty billion injuries and they don't know what to do they see a guy like that like richhill and he can be kind of an oasis in the desert of pitcher injury so i can i can get that i don't want it it's all just a price thing it's all right but but it's also you have to be smart and self assess if you're going to deal with the headache to right some folks are a little bit more hands off they don't want to deal with too much they like more of the senate and forget it guys and if that's you don't get rich hill because this is work and there is a payoff because he does have quality innings you almost every year but do you wanna put in the work and maybe you have this next guy and that's why you need a ritual you darvish no plans to throw yet this is turned into a nightmare season for him sammy you know obviously there were folks that were worried based on the world series starts i don't think that that was necessarily fair or i don't think that that's like good process good outcome ears if that's what they did i think that would be bad process good outcome people were fading darvish because of that but i do worry a about darvish at this point because it's been such a disastrous season and i'm just wondering like where are we at with darvish like what is the not just immediate future but where are you kind of rest a season into next year with darvish sammy super low on darvish and i completely agree with you that his couple world series starts were not anything to really get that scared about because we're talking about the balls being different seems being lower the balls being slicker and for a guy who really relies on his breaking stuff it's like okay i'm willing to give him a pass there but this year has just been a disaster you're talking about the injuries but you're also talking about a real downtick in his stuff i mean his his swing strike rate has gone down this is the third straight year it's gone down and this season is only getting twenty six percent of his pitching out of his own to get swung at charlotte doesn't even like him she's like that's my dog i have no idea what they're barking at sorry that's kinda dogs doom nate.

"I've i've a conflicting take i'm all for it and as somebody who is somebody who doesn't have kids i'm fully out of my element yeah they gotta learn it sometime let's go oh oh like i don't mind it for like my family 'cause i swear in front of my daughter it's a good dad i and i teach her like hey this is like these are these are the words like i don't like like spell them out for anything like that but i'm one of those people like i'm going to swear i know it's going to happen and i figure if i the less big deal i make out of it yeah the less often that she's going to say things like that and she knows what she can and cannot say and she couldn't take take i completely agree with that my parents you know growing up they all they both swore like sailors to be honest and it was the all do as i say not as i do because i said something like well you said it yeah i can say it and so we understood what was what but then you go to some of these kids houses where you say hell and there's like a record scratch and a dish drops in the kitchen like everything just stops cold on a dime like what what was just sending you give those words all of that power that's when it's going to become a problem no i'm with right and those kids are going to grow up and they're going to have no sex in their life and it's going to be terrible so you don't you're going to be super shelter but i'm okay with family lists and if we're going to do this family friendly thing there's no there's no need for it i guess is the thing because just made it suggests sound like they haven't done it before so why this this is a group that is like performed like i think i've gone like the last five or six years and i know they've performed for years before that and like have never sworn have never heard it and because this year look holy shit who of course now swearing podcast there there there are bad influence on you may say influence dude i gosh let's let's out the no i'm just kidding all right let's talk some baseball guys by the way how weird is it when the fourth is in the middle of the week it felt like a weekend yesterday and then i'm like i'm streaming and i'm like i actually have to go to bed guys can i do have to work tomorrow so like we can't stream like it's saturday night but it's so weird when you have to just die right back into it but we do have baseball we on plenty of baseball yesterday and we plan to talk about with we're going to start with some sad news y'all the best player in baseball apparently glacier torres all he does is hit home runs the second second on the deal with the hip strain and you know that's usually how these things come crashing down when when when young players are kind of riding sky high as they get cut down by an injury or natural regression but this one is going to be an injury and it's kind of a bummer he's having an amazing season two ninety four three fifty five fifty five with fifteen home runs i don't think he had fifteen home runs in his entire minor league career combined that's a little bit of an exaggeration but not much because he did have twenty four in fifteen hundred ninety one innings and something that we've been talking about recently is you have to add power when guys come up you see their power grade and it's a forty i make him a fifty coming into the majors i it's it's run environment like any other even though it is tougher because it's the majors power is amplified and so we've seen fifteen homers from sami we have a hip strain now from glimmer torres are you concerned about this as a long term thing and what is your rest of season outlook on torres assuming it's more of a two to three week thing and he's back so i think the thing with torres and you mentioned this is that players are coming up from the minors now in hitting for more power than they ever have you know think of francisco lindor a couple years ago or one soda and there's a million examples and for me i.

"And forty second nba coaching change since gregg popovich began as coach coaching san antonio this is a league that makes a lot of changes and there are very very few franchises that have found stability that's part of the game and i think dwayne casey did a great job this year throughout the regular season but the way he lost again to the cavs cost him his job in what universe does this starting five beat lebron any four guys kyle lowry fred benfleet demar derozan ojea nobody and yoenis balance shooters in what universe does that starting five beat lebron james and any other four guys in the nba in a universe where that team was taking the seven games by the pacers and they were one of the worst defensive teams in the league during the regular season and had to split their team and really start fresh midseason now i'm not saying you beat lebron james but i am saying you've got to make your best effort and i think obviously dwayne casey hasn't been able to get that done and you have to all star so i think if you're toronto and and you're looking at a team that was viewed by many jeff at the deepest team in the league throughout the regular season if you're toronto you get swept to kim by that lebron lebron this year let's be honest he's playing with kevin love tito jermaine and randy right and latoya might be on that team what he's not playing with this all star team that he had before so this i don't like the toronto raptors they were great regular season team start when the postseason started i said they'll be lucky to win their first round series i don't think it's that i don't personally believe look kyle lowry and and the murderers are really good players.

"But the problem with that is yana similitude tend to get into trouble when they do play bigger players that happened like emission earlier in the lakers game where you on a set files in overtime bilton fouled out and overtime so i think this roster is just not really as organized as needs to be they have obviously elite talent and yoenis middleton has had a really terrific year let's hosted good things for them again at the five one place that they're just trying everything at the five john hinson does some okay things but really struggles to defend big bodies they're trying zeller now the play with on the five they're playing with jabari parker at the five with middleton janas and that to train wreck when he's trying to defend the five they don't really you know depari is so gifted offensively but he's looks just like a position player on defense for me right now the one thing i'll say is so i think that going out season they've got some sorting out to russia wise but i know that they still have you know host for the play offs and hope that they can put together a run they are really really talented group so we talk about to settle the roster balance aside and you know what changes they should make and we talk about going to playoffs where they are one thing they do is they struggle to score in the fourth they look ragged they looked tired and that overtime win against the lakers scored fifteen points in the fourth quarter and that loss and la the clippers nameless scored sixteen in the fourth quarter of seeing where you're honest on what who can get a bucket in that game against the clippers where they scored sixteen in the fourth quarter yana scored eight points was four out of five the rest of the team was to to fourteen and that lakers game in the fourth quarter where there was fifteen jaanus four out of seven scored nine points the rest of team with three or twelve nobody on this could score in the fourth quarter and top the struggles in the fourth quarter this team that also struggles to stop the bleeding.
