"On the whole well run in spite of all that there also been a little bit of luck like things sort of break their way and i told matt i said he goes will martin. Tj mcfarland and wade blank leblanc and luis garcia but inside those office walls. There is their own system of looking at players and how they evaluate and saying well if we get this guy. And i think this is. What's happening right now at the club. And he throws strikes. We have a really good defense. So maybe some of these outs or base hits that we can turn into outs benefit us if we bring them into what we and we also see. Maybe we could change him. Things guy works with yati. Maybe working with mike. Matic's maybe gets with adam wainwright see something that is part of what mad holidays talking about in terms of it's a well run organization work. Pick up little things that may be on the outside. You're saying are you kidding. Me with jay happen. John lester but inside those walls they say maybe we catch lightning in a bottle with these guys because we see some things that might fit into our club. I do think that that's happened. The defense is going to work and that's one of the reasons that they're winning. It is amazing. If i'd said two months ago well if we could just get john lester. But i'll tell you what seeing what he's doing against left handed pitching for the dodgers seeing how they're using him plenty of rest capitalizing on immigrants left. He's he's just mashing left as hat found out tell you what d h. And a lot of national exams don't want it. It's coming a lot of cardinals. Fans don't want it if you put our rules there and say. I know it would help move tickets. I think those three guys look pretty good together on the front of a media guide. Now that wainwright has said he's for shirt coming back I i like the idea the more and more you look at what he's been able to do with the dodgers only question i have is a will to does he wanna keep playing and be. "You could talk about life you can talk about whatever and i think that other guys see that i mean. We were mostly at twitter show. Most instagram show gets a few hundred thousand views if you know during during the season and all that stuff per week and i think that if there are nfl stars or media members who. They've reach out to us. I wanna come on slow news day and because they see how we put them in a light where it's like okay we're just hanging out over zoom if if if we brought out a keg wouldn't be out of place right and so there is no drinking on tuesday but there could be right and that to me i think leads to other other people wanting to say yes to things. No one else does it. All access is like that. You know if you go. I think that a lot of times. You know my training camp tour this. I'm not saying this is the case. But i got josh allen. Rogers mahomes borough at the end boroughs. Coming off an injury. He's coming off of a couple of weeks practice. You know he was. He was joe. Cool your and a half ago and now things are not going well for him and they could have been easy for him to say. No but i think access leads to more access. And i think that someone like borough not that. I'm saying he's sitting around reading the ringer. But like if you get all these other guys. I think it just becomes a self filling prophecy and you start to other people like i did. Not the only person. I did not get on my entire journey towards mike zimmer because he was dealing with a lot of the kirk cousins fall out and was just swamped with requests. But i would say that the access begats access to more for you. One give any kind of word count restrictions because one of the things. You know with berry kind of a similar buried light up my notebook and the same way that some of these other guys did but this is a really awful guy who spent time with us and so we want to give that the full shift and we don't want to shortchange that kind of stuff. So i don't have a word count. It's more of fits the story. I think it'd be weird if i get a guy. If tomorrow i get daniel jones for five minutes and i write five thousand words on it. That's probably when it becomes a problem. But if i jones or sam darnold or whomever for an hour then you can get longer with it. So i think that we we just go. Operate within reason and decide what counts can be have an amazing editor conor ivan. Amazing copy desk. Everybody supports me. So i just wanna keep them in mind and just kind of keep it to what the story demands then the last one for me And i think this sort of question would have been maybe more prominent or perhaps even more interesting in a pre cova world but the covert world. Now you know for many of us in this In this profession. We're all working from home. We're all we're not going to a physical office. You know the person we might interact with every day may live three thousand two thousand miles away. You live in new york the brooklyn. Okay the ringers. Main offices is still in los angeles. Yes okay how does that. How has that worked for you. do you feel. Is there any part of you. That feels disconnected. Or like. i was saying because we're now in this new paradigm where nobody's really had an office data. Maybe your what you do now is just sort of what everybody's going to do for in the next twenty twenty-five thirty years or so and it's a geography doesn't really matter when you can slack somebody. Yeah i would say so. That question might be different in a year when everything is one hundred percent back normal. Hopefully fingers crossed. I haven't noticed anything you know. My wife and i lived in augustine florida during work from home for handful of reasons in the fall and so we haven't lived in la for almost a year and still talk to bill all the time. I still dr mollie aruban. Who's a manager all the time and i think maybe because we have a young staff were more interconnected on text or slack or facetime or whatever it is so it feels like we're all working together. Sunday night podcasts. With prince yati. She's also on the side of manhattan. And then ben zolak is michigan. Stephen rees both those guys just joined us is in washington dc. So i don't. I think that maybe when the ringer launched there was more of a demand for everybody to be in the same place but i kind of think as things have disappeared. You know spotify policy now publicly announces that we can work from anywhere. And i think it would have been fine if i lived in new york regardless because spotify has offices here in game. One has offices here. But i think that we're just in an era now especially with media. Where as long as i'm in a couple of times a year maybe with these people and stay connected. I think it's all fine. I mean the fact that. If i if i wasn't talking to my bosses regularly i would maybe have have more of a concern there but i i am not noticed anything i i feel like. We haven't skipped to beat if anything were more efficient than than we were and so no. I think that there's a new era of work. I think there's a new era of media. And i think it can solve richard some of the problems in media For younger kids. Maybe one of the things. I worry about all the time. Is you know when i was coming up. New york was the epicenter of media. Same as you and it became a self-fulfilling thing where the only people got into the media where the kids who are able to afford moving to new york without a really great job at age twenty two and so i actually think that this could end up being beneficial for media that you can be anywhere in the middle of the country you can be in a different country And actually there's probably less 'gate-keeping. I would say going forward. I agree with you. And as i look back on it. It it's like mind-blowing think that When i first started like at sports illustrated like we had like multiple floors on a building on west fiftieth street across from radio city music hall like to think about the dollar. Cost that those offices Were for you know at that. Time as would time inc..

Normally see it the other way around. How important was was it to try. I mean you guys push them around certainly in the running game. Were you surprised that that's just what we are you don't know. I don't think we were surprised. But i i. That's what we have to do to win. You know that's our strength on. We've got a veteran offensive. Line coming back to really physical running backs So we knew going into the game for us to have any success in the offense. We're gonna have to run on and then our play action pass Was really successful. Nfl i had and brent celik. We were in twelve personnel locked in the nfl. So i learned a lot about playing with multiple tight ends So we're just trying to play to our strengths. And now we've got a good group of those guys and we have to tough are no physical running back so it fits us right now and i wonder about that that would we see this like basketball. Everybody shoots the three. And i wonder if somebody's going to be contrarian and go. Hey you're gonna have to stop us inside. You know having a running team as opposed to everybody. You know defensive. Players are not as big as they once were their speed gonna cover. Everybody and i wondered about that with college. Football are you. Are you trying to exploit that. You see an opening here. Yeah you're spot on you know. A lot of people ourselves included have put more speed on the field on the defense side of the ball. But if you put more speed on the field you sacrifice some size So what is the match up that you're trying to exploit you know if they're small. You wanna go vague. And if they're big you wanna go small so the key is having the ability to do both you know and and whatever the situation dictates you can do it and i think that's what the good teams do you know. You look at alabama. Who's probably the top team in the country You know last year. They through the heck out of the ball with mack jones and all those receivers but they could run the heck out of the ball with maji harris also so they have if you have the ability to.

"It depends on when you're listening to this but good weekend We're looking forward to that how you doing doing well man. Happy friday to you and everybody out. There should be a good sports weekend to got cardinals in a huge series in milwaukee missouri. Football kicks off saturday in which is tomorrow in the in columbia. And it's good to have this this part of the season back even got some blues. The news shaky was colton braiko signing up so should be a good weekend for us absolutely. Let's start with the cardinals and milwaukee are you on the bandwagon. You off Where are you at that. And then it's a historic night. The three hundred start between ueno and And yati battery battery-mate so the sidebar to it is pretty cool too. Yeah it's amazing what these guys have done dan. And you know the their march through history together And i go back to. I've said it before. I'll say it again. The cardinals made a smart move by bringing molina back You know you look at what he means to this team. All the different ways that he helps the defense and just also has situational hitting even this season his hot start to the season. Offensively kind of cool but when you look at who gets the job done in clutch situations the numbers. Don't lie for for yadi and wainwright and this is what i'll continue to point to. He has been one of the best pitchers in baseball since the pandemic hit since the start of the twenty twenty season and it's not one of the best pitchers for his age. It's not one of the best pitchers among veterans. It's one of the best pitchers period I really would encourage folks who continued to say. Hey this guy's really good for for being forty. Well look at throw out the being forty part and look at his innings is his quality starts The record that his team has had in his starts and his era. Since twenty. Twenty and what you'll find is. He's one of the best pitchers in baseball period. Right now Regardless of age it's been really remarkable and it's cool to see these guys setting these records. And i think they're going to be back to to go big next season. I imagine that's weighing. Pretty heavy on adam wainwright their goal had a great story in today's post-dispatch but what that record would mean to those guys and ensure sounds like yati is encouraging wainwright to be back next year. And i think there's a good chance of it. I hope there is as for the team. Dan i kinda just rate for the cardinals to either get in or out Like they are they are one foot one foot on one foot in. It's it's confusing to try to make sense of this team other than that. They have this golden opportunity in front of them and the national league wild card race for that second spot as kind of bent back in their direction..

Pine Ridge Indian Health Service regains accreditation
"This is national native news I'm Antonio Gonzalez the Pine Ridge Indian Health Service Hospital in south, Dakota has regained accreditation and can now bill Medicare for services. Just When You Thought Virginia Politics Could Not Get Worse...
"Just when you thought it couldn't get any weirder. And shadier in the Commonwealth of Virginia it does. And it did. Now, the Lieutenant governor of Virginia is facing sex assault charges. Not not not being brought, but allegations of sexual assault having been perpetrated on a young woman who was was somebody who was sort of connected in with with democratic politics democrat party politics. And there's a lot of question now about the pathway forward here. Fresh off of what we've seen happen over in the Virginia governor's drama the governor itself. We saw the racist insensitive. Awful photograph of somebody in black bass and a Klan robe in this guys. In. This guy's medical school yearbook. Coming on the heels of his call to do partial birth abortions post, birth abortions. Additionally, we find out that the source for a lot of what we saw come out with regarding north picture was ready for this. And again said the encounter was consensual. Now. I don't know what the order of succession is in the state politics.
