"Way lost Paul Mooney this week and that was bad enough. And you know it is interesting because to In culture. We're similar in terms of being a legendary guests on talk shows. Paul Mooney was one of them. And of course, he was a unique commentator, and you saw him On Suppose show and other things through the years as well. Obviously his stand up, but both him and Charles Groden Both were legendary for their appearances on late night talk shows. I don't know that anybody Was quite the same to me. Is Charles grown was because I remember my parents even room talking to me. Yeah, This guy's insane Every time he would be on Letterman or Johnny Carson when I was growing up. And He actually retired from acting. Somewhere around like 95, I think You would come back and actually do some little stuff here and there. But he actually tried being a political commentator at one point His talk show host on CNBC. He wanted Emmy Award. He did a lot. But the reason I'm talking about Charles Road right now is because I want to Ask you. Toe add to your lists, and I bet you're streaming list of super long I figured out how long a streaming list can get. Now that I'm a father. Because all the things that we want to watch and want to do. It's on her schedule is not our schedule now. It just It just changes everything for you. But we we were able on Saturday just kind of have a lazy day at different times, and we were able to work through. Film that I'd seen before that I wanted my wife to see. And Charles Grodin was in it, along with Robert De Niro films called Midnight Run. It came out in 1988 Martin Brest directed if you don't have Martin Brest is Martin Brest also directed Scent of a woman. Meet Joe Black. You did the original Beverly Hills cop. He was part of even though he was actually just in a few moves, movies as well In terms of like an actor. He was in spies like us. He was in fast times, a Ridgemont high, So he's been around the scene for a while. But in 88 he directed and produced midnight run. Midnight run is one of the great buddy films of all time like you can think of You know, 48 hours or Tommy boy or whatever it is. I don't know what your favorite is. You can tweet me at J. Mart Radio. Let me know what your what your favorite buddy movie is. I asked that question on Twitter a few days ago. As a matter of fact. But midnight runs on that list. It's also just a fantastic movie now. Yes. You know, the F bomb is used pretty much like any other word in the English language. That thing. I mean, the language is strong and midnight run, but that's really the only thing Isn't already moved from the eighties, like you were going to get that in it. But the performances of a young Robert De Niro or a younger certainly Robert DeNiro. And Charles Grodin, who passed away this week. Our stellar and then you've got Dennis Farina at Joe Pantoliano. Yaphet kowtow and a wonderful role. There's a lot to like about it. It's funny. It's clever. It's fast moving. It's everything that you want. You can watch it with your bro's. You can watch it with your wife. Don't watch it with your kids. Probably if they're too young, just because of the language. But this is actually available right now on HBO, Max and sometimes, like, give you recommendations. This one gets my highest recommendation. Midnight Run is good is an action film, but it's just a tremendous comedy. Really great dialogue fast moving. There's not any wasted space here. But there's heart underneath it. It is a mix if I had to try and just tell you here's what it kind of is. I feel it's almost a mix between 48 hours and planes, trains and automobiles, both of which are stellar. As you well know, maybe even a little bit of Beverly Hills cop thrown in there as well. But it has a definitely feels like an eighties film has an awesome soundtrack that I immediately wanted to go, and I'm maybe I'm going to do it. I want to drive home and listen to it after the show this morning, but check it out Midnight run. It is on HBO Max right now and may be available in other places. That's that's where I know it's streaming. Charles Grodin passed away this week. Honor him. If you have never watched. If you have watched, it's probably time to go back and see it. It is an overlooked, often overlooked classic one of the great films of the eighties and one of my favorite movies of all time. We'll be right back here on Fox Sports Radio. Ron Burgundy here. Did you know one out of every 10 Americans is still not wearing a seat belt when they drive. It's true one of these people thinking maybe they're thinking they're too cool to get in a car crash. Maybe they're thinking I'm only going a couple of blocks, so no need act. Maybe they think only the driver needs a seat belt. I don't know the point being. Where you're gosh darn seatbelts, folks. It's the law and tune into season four of the Ron Burgundy podcast on June 3rd paid for by Nitsa. History is beautiful, brutal and often ridiculous. At least it is on the ridiculous history podcast host Ben Bolin and nor Brown have been discussing ridiculous history for years and have covered everything from Antarctic murders to Ju Baca's bodyguards and so much more fascist dictator Benito Mussolini was super into Wearable milk dive into some of the weirdest stories from across the span of.
