How has he done that somebody explained to me Name Messing with the lewd tonight is the plum street in the deepened. . Question isn't it? ? I mean what's going on? ? Well, , they said to two women who we had to know primarily a CEO Tim. . If you had to attribute that combat come back to one thing and one thing I think we're on a time limit. . What would it be and he said halt. . I think I mean obviously, , that is <hes> that that is a word that covers a broad spectrum of things all of them are. . Totally embodied by Andy Murray <hes> persistence to nasty doggedness stopping this. . But obselete hot is what got him through a very bizarre tennis match today I mean I'm sure in the annals of time we remember the witness of if the match that will suitable fade away and we'll remember the school line in the emotion whatever ends up coming in the aftermath, , but it was a It was a rookie right of a tennis match for for a long time. . <hes> someone on twitter said that there was once a racehorse who died and when they cut the race open they realized he had a heart that was bigger than any other race horse in history and that feels like the kind of thing that might happen with Andy. . Murray one day. . That's a morbid take on them on a very joyous occasion for Andy. . Murray. . But it is one of those things isn't it? ? Because we think of Mary is so relatable and yet. . On occasion like this, , we I genuinely have no idea how he does something like that. . It's it's thrilling to watch but I, , come explain it. . He operates on a different level of guts and defend defiance and resilient to what I'm capable of even imagining. . In the <hes> you say that was a bit move it but didn't the encore interview immediately off the match the first question was Andy. . We buried at the Australian Open last year and yet he He was just an alternate set of on the sports accidental turn of phrase unfortunately most well, , we'll maybe fortunately a lot of these faces obscured by a mask, , but I would quite like to have seen his full facial reaction to the declaration that he'd been buried the tennis community. . Hopefully hopefully, , we're looking at about fifty years down the road a sixty or something like that for. . To have this. . This forensic analysis. . David Lewis let's get out of this. . Yeah. . Let's do that. . Tell you what I think. . We have just a bit of history in order so that we know exactly where we are with the Sandy Murry story. . This is a man that was supposed to retire twenty months ago and. . He didn't he went and had a hip surgery he went and had a new metal, , hip. . He then made a comeback and the combat went really well, , and he won't doubles clean said he played mixed doubles with Serena Williams, , at Wimbledon and then he went on won the singles title in Antwerp and it was just amazing and then he looked like he was hitting the buffet Z. looked like he was in real trouble when he had the complications and what was it called it the impingement of the joint with which which was think caused by sort of spare type thing on the hip and is causing all sorts of trouble didn't play the Australian Open this year I personally thought he was probably finished really at that point for. . Twenty time. . And slow behold he comes back place last week in Cincinnati Stroke New York has those two great wins over Varun Ti and then. . Lost didn't look great against Manashe rich but comes into this match and a half to say I felt pretty sheep pretty. . Confident on his behalf I thought he would. . He would have struggle against a very good player world number forty, , eight Yoshito Nishioka from Japan. . He's twenty four years of age Manu beat Dan Evans. . The Australian Open, , this year, , and who just has one of those really solid sprightly games left handed can hurt you but can also stay in rallies and for an hour and a half. . He made Andy Murray. . Look terrible Andy Maryland made himself look terrible and At that point I said on the radio and I know I said it on the radio because the BBC sport website copied and pasted my words into their text portal and I, , got seventy four negative votes as a result of the words that I added which were Four six, , four, , six, , one, , three, , headlined. . He may not be able to do this anymore and I said this is one of the worst performances I've ever seen from Andy Murray to Grand Slam. . He's got a metal hip, , and he may not be able to do this anymore but looking at this having covered. . So many of his matches I've never seen anything quite like it before past is not feeling very well, , I, expected , to see a fight tooth and nail his opponent is good and I thought he could cause problems but I expected it to be hyper competitive and Murray would win but it's not even close. . And I stand by every single word that. .

"Nice to have now. Back with us on sports by ninety at a very good ten year career in pro tennis and he was the first African American male to reach a Wimbledon final since Arthur, ashe did it back in nineteen, seventy five, and of course, elected to the US Olympic. Team as well as being an outstanding tennis player there and he selected to the US Davis Cup team in one, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety, six, and ninety seven. Now of you grew up in a family that was really tennis oriented and being an African American family you started playing tennis with Your Dad when you were five years old tell me a little bit about your family and your love for tennis. I definitely love to tell you about that and it's great to be on with you. I gotTA Say Ninety Three First Appearance in in Davis. Cup. 'cause I was a pretty pretty special to me but I'll tell you growing up Michigan. My Dad was a tennis player, but just the damage. Tennessee he enjoyed the game grew to love love the game played. Played in local tournaments but nothing nothing beyond that kind of the way I used to play a little bit of golf just having fun with it and he He started me and my oldest sister at the same time my older sister who also played on the bachelor. I was five years old and she was just she was nine the time and it was kind of the three of us. We just started going on to the tennis court and and that was I thing where while a lot of my schoolmates or people I knew they were playing. Sports, certainly clan some football or basketball. Tennessee is what I did. I was really the only kid that I knew you know at my school who were actually played tennis but it was what I enjoyed. It was what what we did. You know I kinda say we we went to we went to school we went to church we ate we selectively play tennis. Those are the only thing we really did and I go to Levin. Played I tournament seven years old and was hooked for me I. There was nothing like being on the court seven, eight, nine, ten years old competing for a little two dollars trophy, and you know when they're leaving your crying when you're when you're winning the other kids crying time and you're just out competing and there was just something exciting thrilling exhilarating get the adrenaline going about competing against another kid and fortunately I was able to do it for a long long time and do. A living give me a perspective on this now because when I take a look at the time that you grew up playing tennis as you just talked about it, there was a love there was a passion for it, and now when I watched junior players there seems to be an intensity that it's you know I've got do this or I'm going to be a failure. That sort of think was the drive in the intensity a little bit different when you were growing up playing tennis. Maybe the spiritually bomb I'm GONNA. Say You know today? They're definitely some crazy tennis hockey golf football parents out there And those same parents existed back in the nineteen seventies and eighties crazy back. Then when I think crazy just a little over the top and maybe wanted living through their kids a little bit maybe wanting a little bit more than kid there was certainly a level of intensity back then when I played and I can remember some interesting family dynamics Monica. Wanted but interesting family dynamics or some of the kids I play again So it was definitely intense but I think now there's there's so much money in the game and there's so much that that plays a big part of it part of it when I do and it's very commercial and when kids see their favorite player and you know any. Outfit wearing whatever whatever company logo they're wearing my commercials and they see the tournament. Kid wants that and you know parents often times buying that dream and they say this is by kids ticket to fortunate fame and even get Forego College I. Think some some parents I think lose a significant amount of perspective and realize. You can't you can't just create a tennis player. You know you can certainly put put him on the right path and put opportunities in front of them. But at some point, they love the game and jaw has to take over their comment has to be there. You can't force it like if the kid is going to be a top level professional tennis player, it will happen. It's not gonNA happen by accident, but it will happen but it's not something you can fourth about oh I just throw a bunch of money into it and and make it happen becoming a professional tennis player who can make a living not just be out there on the tour barely scraping by but make a living out. There is very, very rare but I think you have a lot of junior's ten, twelve, fourteen, sixteen years old they in their parents will be out. Majority. But I was ten years old I had that June as well. I. Took me and my older sister to North Open, and I remember being in the top of Louis Armstrong Stadium and watching these pros and that was my dream and I specifically remember leaving the US oaken and going to practice and box in my head watching these pros and now on the twelve year old practicing and that's in my head because that was where I wanted to be Sunday and I was one of the fortunate ones to you know translated watching the US Open to one day playing at the US Open I was very fortunate in that regard. You know tennis is one of those sports that you don't hear about a lot of African American players on the tour I mean I think about James Blake and I've talked to him as well. Tell me a little bit about what it was like for you as an African American and since you didn't have. Any role models currently playing when you did you had Arthur ash you certainly get mentor you along the way but what was that like for you? Know I I, never looked at it at tennis growing up and saying, I, didn't have role models. Now, if I was only looking for a black low bottle, certainly, there was Arthur towards when I was first starting to play and I saw Arthur play a US Open back in the late seventy. Years later there was the Yannick Noah I could. I could you know look at but I I was a big fan of of the top Americans at the time mackinaw connors were at the top of the game. I was a huge fan of the on board. So you know to me I got like bored especially was was a role model also because he was very low key and didn't show a lot of emotion and didn't get upset on the court and I kinda thought that was cool I kinda liked back so. I've never been one to say a white tiered have to have a white robot or black kid has a black role model. But but certainly, if you can see someone who looks like you on the court I, think that a positive. But I'm ten or twelve years old I'm not really thinking it was never in my head to aren't there more black people out there and I'm I'm Chad just out there playing a sport and I WanNa win I don't. I. Don't really care who I'm playing. Yes. You noticed that there aren't other black players out there but you know I'm not. There isn't a whole lot of you know thinking about social justice and you know things that are going on in the community. That's just not where hug work I was out there trying to play and. Win. In, Nineteen ninety-six at very special week two weeks in Wimbledon. You're ranked number twenty and you became the first African American. Since Arthur Ashe to reach a grand slam singles final but you ended up losing to the Dutchman Richard Cry. Check When you look back on that one of the elements of that two weeks at Wimbledon. That's still is engraved in your mind today. gave the fact that I grew up..

"We've had a week off and. Has Gone to get his haircuts. Catherine's been hanging out with Magnus. That may or may not mean something to you, and we will be back with tennis podcasts over the coming weeks and months altogether chat in as we normally do, but today we have a very very special interview with the French Open champion of nineteen eighty-three, the world's number three as his highest ranking, but that really doesn't tell the story of Yannick who is unquestionably the coolest man I have ever met Davis Cup winning captain. Three Times Fed Cup winning captain as well and had a hugely successful music career. Once his tennis stays had come to an end I had the chance to meet him just over twenty years ago when he joined the champions tour. Tour retired players who just traveled to will played matches against one another him and John McEnroe and beyond bog, and all these greats of the game, and just got to know him a little bit at that time. He was always suggest to me. I haven't seen him for about ten years, but I managed to get in contact with him through a couple of other people when we were researching and trying to set up interviews full at tennis, relived series, particularly the French Open, so that we could tell that story, and you'll have heard an excerpt perhaps of this interview when we covered his run to that nineteen, eighty three French Open title, but the entire interview. It's just joy, and it will improve your mood, and if you do enjoy the into you tell your friends family, let your social media, and what's that group's now about it because it will just leave them happier than when they started listening to. It has Yannick Noah. I'd like to go right back to the beginning of your of your career, and even before your career and the reason for your career and. I believe a meeting with Arthur Ashe. Yep Absolutely. Our used to leave the group in Cameroon, Africa and We were I was playing detail club tennis was. Not, very, big in Cameroon in the whole country, back nine court, so to play tennis was very privilege radio privilege so. so we used to go to the club at night, but at that time my parents couldn't afford a racket in one day. When I heard that? Some Americans were coming to the club saw. Americans you know so. So Marty Riessen Charlie Pasarell, Tom, ochre, and Arthur Ashe where doing tour in Africa. And they happen to play one day my club. During the clinic they decide. They played with the kids. And I played with Sir and Liked what he saw. I was slim press. You know he was my heroes. At the end of the clinic gave me a racket is racket. Head competition that worth like. Probably Probably what my parents would making every month. and it was you know it was like a dream for me to meeting. Dr Racket Sonya poster. Saying To Yannick I hope I'll see one that. So that was very funny. But the next thing that happened is after this story went to the French Open and he talked to shut. It was the president of the Federation. I told him that he was a little kid was playing. Or was in French. Speaking. Country and And I I. The scholarship came to friends because of author I played in niece for few years. And? The first time I played in Wimbledon That was nine years after we met was in Wimbledon because as for wild card. That was accepted and we play doubles on center court. So that was a beautiful story, so yes, the so mean Africa. And he was a big part of my story. Because and after that you know. For some reason, he was always like you know. Not Too far helping me when I was younger growing up, and then you know played with him at Wimbledon, the first tournament. Back in the days. It was called Super Seris. I was playing Richmond Virginia where he was born. And that was the first tournament I one. Super Series and As I was you know going through the tournament semifinal quarterfinals? Semifinals Playing Roscoe Tanner and these gentlemen comes into locker room sold demand. It comes. It goes Yanic if you win. Arthur is coming tomorrow SEO really worrisome. Is Dad. "He said, it's politics, and and it is politics. And I think that's what frustrates the tennis fan and the likes of of Yannick Noah for whom the Davis Cup has nothing at all to do with politics. None of tennis has anything to do with politics. It's just about four hundred backhands and passion and emotion and enjoy and yet, you know, you actually behind the scenes that the decisions the that. We're unable to be involved in actually a lot of the time necessarily come down to a whole lot of boring politics. And that's where a sort of disconnect comes in. That's why you know, you have Yannick Noah talking about his sort of distaste for the the money in vote because for him those things are so alien to everything that he knows the Davis Cup to be. And I get that. I get it. But, you know, politics, pretty ghostly, but they're also, unfortunately, a necessary evil, only, you could also say that Catherine. And his team the not exactly struggling for few quit other. So he can kinda Ford to tighten that view. You could argue, but but I get the point. I I mean when I got an out I was right behind it to be honest and probably overly hastily. So because a lot of the response we got really took me aback from analysts knows about how many people which is devastated at what they would lose, and they will lose. Yes there thankfully that. There is at least kind of some home in a way earlier early in the year. But there's no question for particular all the British fans that we we have listening to us the there's a lot of upset there because that's their chance to watch tennis locally. And they just love it a love the Davis Cup. I do get all of all of that. Now, I still feel that on balance. This is this is the way to go. I just hope they get it right in the end. So it's going to be. Fascinating evolves. That wasn't the end of the press. I we'll say because there was quite amount of Yana talking in French, which you in Catherine understand, which I I so what went on. Yeah. Well, that was good question where he was asked. Basically, you know, the roller captain is kind of to get the to get the most at if you apply. Do you think you did that this weekend that he he wasn't well, Catherine? What would you say it wasn't? It wasn't very happy that question. He did it in his sort of soothing seething Yannick Noah tones, but he was pussy confrontational with the journalists that question combative, and he sort of straight back saying well have you been watching the matches? The my players have been playing in the past three months, and there was a bit of back and forth and. Journalist kinda set while. No, I've not seen them all. But yes, I've been watching and Janet now set what I've seen them all and I've analyzed the mole. And I honestly think that this weekend my players performed better than they have been for the past three months and kind of to their maximum by stone, therefore moments Geel, Simone's six one record against Merrill, Lynch, the which he tweeted without comment relentless this morning. Yes. Yeah. Well, that has been the biggest of elephant in the room, hasn't it? The fact that you know, this is now the second time that unit now is French team of loss to Croatia. His only is only two defeats in this. Third caps. Say paired form has both been against Croatia twenty sixteen and now the final, and you know, France have had the Maron Chile disruptor in Iran seven she'll Sema six one head to head record. And. Yet. He's not played. And now it went into a bit of detail about about why that is and basically as far as I understood it. Does seem all would would want to kind of work different later Yannick Noah Yannick, Noah kind of chooses his team kind of a last minute was she'll seem on would want to know quite a lot and advance..

"But you can tell that the whilst he knows the job isn't done. He's got to get another point his team. Have he knows my who and have good. But he fails doesn't he as though he's over the hump here. Yeah. No. He's sort of the hard work has been done. He I mean he wanted to nail on on day one. And he's got it. And he's got it. So emphatically sort of got the feeling like they've almost crushed France is spirit. Just the way they've. The way they've dominated today. And does make you wonder what they might do tomorrow. Because as he mentioned in that interview, they were also tune up in the semi semifinal in in Zada against the USA. And then and that was cherishing Chile. Putting them to nil out and then sets up as well. Yeah. And then they ended up in fifth rubber Pavic Dodig lost to Brian and Harrison, and then Chile Schloss to query, and then suddenly it was down security. So maybe he's going to try and go for the kill tomorrow. And maybe that means including Chile Chile said, he's ready to play doubles. No, maybe including Chile doesn't make that a stronger doubles team. But it's something that he can think about well. You mentioned that semifinal Dodig and Pavitt who lost seven six in the fifth set to Brian and Harrison that made it to one then Chile law. Lost in four cents to query. And that was kind of where all the problems seem to really start this run of losing matches when he was a head. And then it went down to a fifth rubber with charge beating tear photo from two sets to one down to win six three in the fifth. Having won the first six cents of the tire in Katherine you've seen so many of these Davis Cup ties. Now you've seen the one up close last year. Something can happen on doubles day content. It really can turn even even something that seems as one-sided this. If the French pair of my who never managed to conjure a win tomorrow. Just imagine what it would be like for Croatia to try to get over the line on Sunday. Yeah. Without question. Can you imagine say my who I best ceiling historic victory tomorrow? Can you imagine the atmosphere inside that stadium on Sunday as the French team stunned? They're all Menam. Nick Lima who presumably in even more floods as well as twenty thousand people around them sing sing along with limousine as I mean, it's going to be even more difficult probably times ten for those Croatian guys to make it just about the tennis on Sunday than it than it was today. So say it's not over. I am I think Croatia extremely heavy favorites from this position. And they've given me every reason particularly Borna charge. I think to to believe that they are so up to the task of if seeing this through of not letting the occasion get to them. But, but there is something about Yannick Noah, the something about the most is something about that that stadium in Lille. You know, this about the Davis Cup, isn't that? And as you say particularly doubles day, so stranger things have happened. But I do think creche. Just giving me goosebumps describe in that in the who the Marseille as seen how 'cause I can just imagine that picturing that Catherine stranger things have happened. Matt have they has this ever happened before in the Davis Cup final to love up to not win once in nineteen thirty nine when it was the challenge, round and Australia. USA challenge is when you didn't have to play anything to get there, isn't it? You just because you'd want it before you got straight into the final. Yeah. Do you think Yannick no is trying to dig out video is Jim nineteen thirty six..

"I mean, I just watched the first set of that today. I thought how is this guy not made a really deep run yet the French Open because it's all there. Yeah. I think he's been struggling to know what to do with his game to know whether. Struggling to reach a level of comfort with this game. I think he sort of tried to an weapons to it. Autism feel like he has to hit harder than than comes naturally to. But I think yeah, listen to to grandma look the look at the trans in tennis the lost ten years his his natural game. You know, if he can he can make the most of it is is enough. I think to to get him to fulfill his potential to get him to. Sunny grand, slam semifinals possibly finals, given the, you know, they're going to be a winning 's in men's tennis in in years to come and light that I think he's a thinker. Isn't he born a church, and sometimes that can work against bows? I think maybe he's possibly over things over the is, you know, you had a lot of success very early those victories over he beaten adults Weiss didn't any beat Murray. And and it will came. And that was at a time. And there wasn't his next gen you know, he was the first one to come through that everyone. Everyone suddenly panicked. Okay. Finally got a guy that can take over from federal del. Don't worry guys the panic saver. We we've got a guy, and yeah, it was it was before varies even emerged. So there was an awful lot heaped on his shoulders. And I think he's sort of taken all to come to terms with all of that with with how his game fits and how it works. He's been through a lot of coaches as an E Thomas Hansen miles MacLagan. Yeah. He's he's really he's spent a while figuring things out, and I'm so pleased that he's getting that because of a really good time for him. Yeah. I think he's an interesting champ. And also, you mentioned how composed he was that was that was particularly impressive because he he actually said he was feeling quite nervous partly because he he missed the twenty. Sixteen Davis Cup final throwing jury, and it's been playing on his mind for a few weeks because he's actually he's actually carrying a bit of an injury. He went off Cole explained that he's been having since Shanghai. So that was kind of weighing on his mind. But how serious says it's painful, but he, but it's not a problem. I mean to me that sounds like a contradiction. Really? But he he he's playing it down. He says he can play on it for five or six hours. No problem. Yeah. I mean, but it is there, and it has been on his mind. I think it's in the sort of Appalachia area. So yeah, he was nervous today. But he didn't really show it because he was he was exceptional for. Fortunately, he's got more stomach than Solihull Simon or I would never managed to get my win Maron Schiller's Catherine has finally won a match without a wobble. I was waiting for David. Even when he was points against and didn't he just thought we we go here we go. Yeah. And honestly guys love fifteen down. And I think right. It's coming. But luckily, he was so good today. Unfortunately, Sanga is sort of so able to to penetrate him on of the that. I don't think he he felt the jeopardy. The. It's the jeopardy that sends his mind into a spin sends him into the choking spiral is an and I think you have a near enough the cliff edge to start feeling that I think he felt so in control throughout the whole thing that he was never anywhere near the precipice. So yeah, I mean, that's probably doing him to you know, it was because he was so good that he he never got near the precipice. I mean, just completely dominating bullying aggressive go-round Goran Ivanisevic would have approved of what he saw today. I think he just imposed himself on that much. And didn't didn't give Songa the chance to get inspired. And I'm sure Shoko cryan had a had a part to play in that. That was a good strategy. You know, just no nonsense. Big boy, beefy tennis, don't give the crowd anything to get the teeth into well, joker crying. You mentioned him..

"So he looked on at undercooked today. Didn't they oh big time? Big time undercooked. Yeah. I mean. A couple. I mean, he had the the medical time out between sets two and three. I think it was which went to court for it. I think it was a hip injury. Which is which is a new one, you know, when he pulled out of the practice on cheeser. I'd heard reports that it was the back. Then reports came out yesterday that it was in the shoulder. But then it seemed to me that it was something more in the hip Demane he received treatment on today. So he's oversee, you know, not quite right. He looks like he needs a good preseason to me you need like he looks like he needs to have a good run at training without injury intervening. Yes. So incredibly undercoat is second serve was being eaten for breakfast. And he was just getting I mean Chile played superbly. He served a dream today. So you know, he wasn't really being given anything to get his teeth into. But that made it all the more important that that he was. Real force on his own seventy didn't it didn't feel like that. He didn't feel like a fool, you know, in any way, which is a real side thing to say he gets back though. But it certainly seems too soon. So look, I mean, he's a high risk IRA would captain isn't a Yannick Noah. But that means that when it doesn't pay off you do have questions to answer. Absolutely. And some would say that the best captains are the ones that just get the players playing V, no matter how difficult that might be. And some would say the best captains of the ones that don't let the the player power overrule them. And don't let you know do say to play. All right. Then if you're going to be like that, you know, I don't know the details if the feud with Seema morpheus and whoever else over the years, but but the ones that are strong enough to say, okay, I'm not going to pick. You, you know, Phuc whatever principal reason. So. I didn't necessarily have the answers to the question. But I think if the rest of the final as the way we probably expected to their certainly valid questions into answer born a charge merits. He has made rises this year that I think have gone a little notice we didn't have a podcast on him. When he when he got to one of the big finals a few weeks ago. We did go quite deep into into his emergence. But I just feel like today was another another step in tiredly because this guy I think too many Carol said on Twitter that he used to be so demonstrative. He was he was veins popping out of the neck and fist pumping. All the time. Whenever he would hit winners today. He was so composed wasn't. He he was taking shoddy to the woodshed to use Brad Gilbert, but he was. Doing it quietly calculating Lee. And and he was doing it called bloodly as well. Yeah. Absolutely. Any also serve really well that was that was very noticeable. In Germany, shoddy was actually asked about the improvements that churches made because shoddy I think let the head to head going into this match certainly be an before they had close matches. And he said that church is really improved his serve. He was serving seventy five percent today. And that's kind of been a hallmark of his season. When he had that run in Shanghai that you mentioned he was really serving well when he took out Federer, and yeah, I mean, we've talked a lot about sits pass action ovens. Vera, Evan, you know, probably we should be putting church in that sort of category as well. He's he's maybe not quite as eye catching as those three. But he's very effective. And if you look at the guys who've dominated tennis in the past ten years, maybe. They've all been the best defenders if you like the best movers and church is definitely in that category. And he can up so sting you with his back on the line as well. And he just cool shoddy very cold. A lot of just exposed is movement. Really very well today on clay as well, Catherine..

"Jeremy Shaw dis been a sort of slightly forgotten man that needs singles of Davis Cup in here is he's the French number one for the final. I didn't realize got five one record in Davis single. So so that's I guess one of the main reasons that he has been picked to is that your sense, man. Yeah. Indeed. And Janet now set impress that he's been fame press with the way, Jeremy shoddy has been to the playing aggressively. He sees the key to this tied to go out there and to sort of earn your point aggressively. And he sites showing me shoddy as you know, maybe the best attacker the moment in the French team perhaps written sort of hidden between the lines. There is is a suggestion. That Luca we may be a little bit too defensive naturally, which could be interesting point. Obviously pre was the one last year who sort of clinked the winning point. And he's very much been Yanic knows, man. He's been the one who's played the most matches on the narrow in this third stints that now has had as captain, but we did. Turn up today at the press conference is the only one wearing wearing a cap almost as though he was shielding his face, and perhaps that was an early indicator of of what was going to come. But yeah, I'm I'm with Catherine in that. If if he was going to drop either of them, I was kind of expecting it to be Songa. Because of those reports we'd had earlier in the week, but certainly unit now a seems to have a little feeling about Joe song others, I've been reading I've been reading keep and there's been a suggestion that may be sung can be this year's on reluctant for the Frank shoe came in one thousand nine hundred one in the final and at the time was ranked two hundred forty three in the world after year injuries. And yet he had this big match experience. And he pushed February center of the team who'd been the hero in the quarterfinals in the semi finals and Lecomte went onto beat Sampras. And then earn a point in the doubles along psyche four, Jay and. And front one on the Yanic. Now is capstan say so there's a failing that may be Sanga can be player again. But certainly there are some concerns about his form having only played a handful of matches really since since the start of the. Yeah. Very sorry. That's a very interesting point that one isn't it very, well, what the French have is bags of talent absolutely binds of talent. But you know, I don't know why this is proven to be the case with the the recent crop of French plays by the rule. Bit flaky, aren't they? That's the sort of running theme. You know, they're on many of them that you'd want playing via life, but I wouldn't mind having Joe Wolford Songa even off year of injury playing for my life. Whereas I wouldn't want leak we doing that song. You think would be better sort of rising to the occasion and actually thinking back to that ninety nine hundred. One finally mentioned of interviewed unit note about that in the past. I don't have HUD, more captivating interview than Yannick Noah talking about the day that he went to visit on relic owns and Lecomte was in bed, and he could not move because of back surgery. And he said, look, we need you. We need you in this team. If we're going to beat a team consisting of Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi in singles and an a world class double team as well. And and Laekan was just like a man possessed thereafter, and he made his his one goal, and I'd say that that is the highlight of unwritten accounts entire career, and that includes reaching the French Open final I think that that meant more to him proving himself when it looked like he was finished and beating Sampras in front of his own fans..

"Period was a great player and james worthy is a great player and then there's ten more things to say about him which guy would you rather be the abby but i think there are guys who would rather be the dominant clearly that i you know literally out and in its is a difficult thing there would really makes us more difficult and even different than the cobi shack being is the idea that we know or lease it seems the is leaving because then it it makes it that gives a little bit more credence to what tyree is either asking for once that it makes sense i will okay was only one more year anyway so that takes away as opposed was shack and koyukoy said they stuck together 456 more yannick noah as a factor so i think all the fact that he believes and it seems like everyone believes that laurent is only therefore another year than it does take away a little bit of that unites good point and i don't think he you're you're talking about some ground against mentioned enough and i think it's important visit lebrun is always y'all go another one on go another one that there's never been that look i'm a do a five six and look i understand why lebrun does it because i mean never mind the cleveland cavaliers in what they're worth based year two year on his presence the city of clearance entire economy is is is at least in part based on look braun related event somewhere like a hundred million yeah crazy so if every year pheko's look to condemn it i'm just making a number share if i may twenty million this year and i can make 25 i'm going to do it because i'm worth every probably worth more than that but at the same time what you're saying.
