Every game is make or break every second is terrifying. The bullpen could do anything, right? And based on this tortured season, there is a chance that absolutely anything could happen at any time. But I think it's safe to say in a safe judgment that even though the names in this bullpen aren't who you expected to be there when the season started when there was Dara no day and there was Justin Wilson and there was Zach Britain, right? You're dealing with completely different people. Jonathan Lewis, it hasn't emerged yet, et cetera, et cetera. And last year, you've got Britain and out of vino and Chapman in green. And it's different guys than it's ever been before. "Now he's probably going to be a two to three inning guy out of the bullpen. He has electric stuff. He looked very good last night, not drawing any conclusions based on that against one of the worst offenses in the league. But then again, the guys in pitch in 2019. So and he only had what, four or 5 starts that year. So very encouraging to see 30 pitches 19 of which were strikes to strikeouts after all he's been through. And you have to know that that's the killer for your mental state, man, not being able to get back on the field and having all the setbacks that he did. He thought we were celebrating a birthday hangover and ended up being Tommy John surgery. So it's really been an insane couple years for the man. And this is going to change your complexion of the Yankees bullpen. Maybe they maybe they have a start. Maybe they have Montgomery, dude, Montgomery, maybe battles for three innings in a playoff start or even down the stretch again in one of these important games against the Red Sox or the Blue Jays pitch count gets run up to 70 something and three innings, which we've seen this year. That's nothing that's nothing crazy. And then they say, hey, let's go to the bullpen. Michael king Luis severino Domingo Hermann, then maybe that can get the job done. You have a lot of different moving parts here that can that can piece together a group of pictures that get you through 9 innings. So I like what I'm seeing and unfortunately there's only ten games left. So we're not going to see a whole lot of it, but if they can get into the postseason, then we're talking about an entirely different equation that, hey, maybe Aaron Boone can't fuck it up because it's too good to be true at that point. Who knows? Who knows? Who can be confident, certainly not me, but again, these are these are three weapons we did not have a week ago. Things are better now than they were on Sunday. That's all you can ask for when the stretch run is the most important. I mean, whether you believe in this team or not objectively, these are the most important stretch on games. This team has played in a long, long time every day is kind of a whirlwind. You can try to unplug, but you won't be successful. And we've got a lot to look forward to. This weekend next week. And next weekend, when the rays have hopefully clenched and decide to take their foot off the gas pedal, just a little bit if even subconsciously. Here you go. Take first. Yeah. And then unbelievable. And then he goes to Lucas licki, who I liked what I liked everybody has liked but Luke is lucky has done this year. Lucas linky coming in in the fourth inning to get the team out of a bases loaded jam is preposterous. He is not the kind of picture that could do that. He doesn't need a guy with a somewhat overpowering fastball there to attack hitters. You need to attack hitters in that spot. You can't just be pitching around guys with the bases loaded. That's how you walk in a run. Anyway, first pitch wild pitch scores are on. Then Dickerson pops out great. You get the one out, but then who's up next? MVP candidate Marcus Simeon. You want Lucas lickey facing Marcus Simeon? That was your grand plan? Or were you just banking on him having Corey Dickerson ground into a double play? All unlikely scenarios. And then last night, and that could, you know, Brett Garner ends up hitting the three run Homer to tide in that, but it didn't have to get to that. Maybe they maybe they'd get one run there based on a better pitching change and then Garner hurts at home run and it's three to one and then it's kind of different from that point on with the way the js are attacking the opposing pitching. "And i don't want to add another strikeout machine to the roster but he does provide other because he's a good defensive outfielder barroga he runs the basis. Well and he's just been dog shit like he he's just been really bad and it's like if he's not this bad so that's the thing it's like. He's not this bad of a hitter so he will start to hit better and then he does when he provides a good outfield defense and he runs the basis. The side of clint frazier. I thought i mean clint frazier. How to good structure with the stats. Last year he hit a four on base percentage. That's what i'm saying. I don't know why the yankees just gave up on him for kind of not obviously gallos guy. I don't know well crew. Clip frazier is a weird situation. He's a man. We have documented. Clint frazier so he gets traded to the yankees at the sixteen deadline and it was pretty much like he's going to be there next leftfielder in two thousand eighteen and that didn't happen and then he had concussion hit concussion issues which kind of derail his entire season and then two thousand nineteen he just was bad and then injured and two thousand twenty the covert season he played. Well i guess at four hundred on base percentage and he's named the starting outfield starting leftfielder in spring training. And then the next day they resigned. Brett gardner and and i know record was not going to be the starting left fielder at the same time. He's the longest tenure yankee aaron. Boone loves him and he gets playing time always like whether he deserves it. Or not. And clint frazier just started. Dad got worse this year and he's had case he's he's mentally weak. I like him. i like. I like the potential of Frazier but i just feel like. He's a mentally weak player. That i feel like if you just put in kansas city or something. He'll hit two eighty and twenty home runs every year but in new york. He's like hit or miss. Because he's just ahead case and i tweeted this and i'll hand up. I ensure brett gardner. But i watched the thima every night. And they're no longer stealing bases they're no longer like having grinded out at bats. They just looked flat for the past ten days after they looked like unbeatable. Somebody get turned around and put into the bullpen as either a a swing guy or or heck a severino coming in later he may he may come in and be you know a a very integral piece that that is able to go to winnings you know in the the sixth and seventh or the fifth and the sixth and get through the heart of a lineup and then you put in the other guys in the back of the bullpen so it would surprise me if one of those guys that were were talking about right now as a starting pitcher was a was a piece in the bullpen. That's not going to change the case. And i'm getting more and more excited for clark schmidt in whatever capacity that we see him so if there's a he wasn't on the fan graph projects which i think is a mistake. Finger has been missing. "Hitting and tonight they didn't have enough to get by what was a how should we call it a choppy start by sunny greg and juan soto with two home runs of course one off of gray and one off of chason shreve in the seventh gave the nationals the the lead and that best bullpen in baseball that'd be the yankees bullpen it was the first one that was given up by the yankees pan in over twenty two innings twenty two and two thirds innings to be exact so and and as i said before gray wasn't bad it wasn't great either he certainly was not as good as he was the previous two starts and he had a very difficult i would he throw in that i think about thirty to thirty three pitches thirty four pitches he threw in that first inning and so the nationals win this one and they get a split of the two games in and there you go that's that's the yankees the red sox won last night and so it's it's really odd you look at the standings in the american league east and you got the yankees in second place but they've got a higher winning percentage than than the red sox which is as i say an oddity their winning percentage is better than the red sox yet the red sox if you look at the standings right now are up a game in the american league east and so the yankees split the two games with the nationals and onward and upward we go if you're the akis the anticipation remains high the optimism remains very high and house spoke how spoke hal steinbrenner spoke and well i mean there's really nothing that hal steinbrenner said that really could be termed surprising or revealing you know he talked about the yankees needing more pitching starting pitching is a concern all the time and i guess the reporters caught up to the yankees owner and you know the the owner saddam of meeting in manhattan yesterday and hal steinbrenner said you can't have enough pitching and of course we've got montgomery out for the season and got the rookie and the mingo herrmann and i think we've got a need there and we've got money we've got flood dino payroll flexibility and we save some money because we knew going into the.
