"As a kid, I was four years old and I wanted to be a race car driver. But it's such a far -fetched dream. Every kid wants to be a race car driver at some point. And then you dream about being the fastest guy on earth because you're a kid. And the simple fact that you actually can get in the race is already a blessing, an honor, because not many people get to do that. But then winning it is another level. And then after you've won, being able to race it again, it's you get to appreciate things a lot more. And it's becoming, for me, my favorite race of the year, favorite event. But also my favorite game. I love to talk about the race as a game. It's tactical. You have to be very strategic. It's a bit like a chess game. Well, now we've been asking everybody what actor would play them. Have you come to any conclusion when they do the Simon Pageno story? What do you think? OK, let's go. And then next up would probably be Graham Rayhall. Yeah. And then I'll fall in line somewhere right there. Right behind that. And we've been talking weight classes and adding the ballast, et cetera, et cetera. Where do you fall in that? I'm like, I don't know, like fourth from. Same on the height chart, basically, right? I'm like fourth from heaviest, something like that. Is that any kind of an advantage? No, that's disadvantage. They've done a really good job mitigating that situation because it used to be where it was just the driver, whatever he weighs, whatever size he is, you go in there and there's no weight ballast. Now everybody has to ballast up to the heaviest driver. The problem is you have your body's bigger. It's a higher center of gravity in the car. Yeah, that's right. Your weight mass is higher. Do they get to experiment where they put the weight, like on a sailboat and ballast? They have to put it in one designated area. Wow, that's amazing. Is there any way to cheat? No, they're pretty tight on it. You've heard stories of drivers when they go to weigh in, having lead underwear and stuff like that. It's funny, I've heard some stories of guys getting caught, all of a sudden a piece of a lead weight would fall out of their pocket and all this other stuff. So not something I want to get caught. When do they weigh you? Is it the beginning of the month, the beginning of the season? What's the cutoff? Every race, they weigh you after practice on Friday. So for the Indy 500, it was after the first practice day, which was Tuesday, after the GP. This is going to be a series of dumb questions. Sure. You don't have to give me the number, but who's the most famous person you have in your cell phone? I don't know. It depends on who you're asking, right? In the hockey world, Keith Yandle is a good buddy of mine, so everybody would know him. He'll be here for the race, actually. How about you? You've got a bunch of famous friends. Again, it depends who you ask. You ask kids my son's age, Millie Bobby Brown would be the biggest. I have no idea who that is. Yeah, no, ask your kids. All they want is Taylor Swift. Yeah, exactly. "12 seconds later, they ended up caught in another one, take the two one lead, and it was pretty much done after that. Going back to game three, islanders fans not happy about that tying goal. I mean, gee, you said it. It looked like you got the high stick on it, but given that they called it a goal on the ice, they didn't overturn it. I thought that, yeah, it did look maybe on the higher side, but just clearly not enough RA. Absolutely not, but I know I'm stroking off every episode of vasilevsky man. Like this guy, I think he's solidifying the cons might, at least on the Eastern Conference, but down the other end, I'm curious who trots goes with next game if he goes with Greece or olim off. I mean, he went unexpectedly last week. I always say Greece because I'm a big Danny zuko fan. It's great, but I'm curious to see who he goes. Egg especially grace. The first two goals in game four that varlamov let up. He almost had it. The breakaway on Coleman it goes underneath the stick and then I forget who and a lot. He almost got that block where he ended up getting over on that path and I think it just hit his block or side and went in. So he played great. Listen, I guess after they dragged him into that mud fight and it seemed like the Martin goudreau scrap had really motivated that team and just how ugly it got. I thought that islanders were going to stand a chance, but what a response by getting point back in the lineup after he missed a game as well as killorn and they just were right back to their high flying selves. And the point goal is good and a dominant as far as I was bad. He made kind of a tough play defensively on the point goal. No, he was chasing him and he was back checking him doing his best as he cared to kind of get back into the play. They showed the replay on NBC sports, but he ends up getting on the back side of him and he's kind of behind the net and point does a great job stopping in front and ends up getting the goal. So when you look at barzal and what he can do offensively, it's just one mistake. And at that time, it's two one. Points goal is kind of a back breaker. It's three one the game looks completely different. It's now in the third period. It's just all about staying between your man and the net. You could tell that one time he's trying to get there and ends up on the wrong side and it's a back breaker for that team. So I just think that the entire that line point Pilate and kucherov is something else. And the islanders, even with Nelson, really can't answer it. I know Bailey's been good, but they don't have the skill level that that line plays with. They're just all on fire. Couldn't agree more. Yep, they all had two points in game four as did yanny good too. There's just too much firepower for them. So, and of course, if Tampa wins the next one, the aisles will be looking fine out of the golf course isn't there going to be one to be good when they're out there. I feel like it's a foley prank. I feel like there's something going on here. Well, it's not really a prank 'cause we just won't be there. I think they're just more nervous. I really will be shocked if Keith actually just canceled on us the way he did and it's not a joke. I'll be really surprised as a friend of his true. He's going to song us so we don't show up and he can bring two countries and play with Kevin. So now we have to get over to Dallas and RA before you before you hop into this. I want to say this to Dallas fans. I made a mistake when I'd been watching some games. I hadn't seen Jamie Ben put up any points. I clearly hadn't been running or watching the scoreboards, okay? So I was wrong in saying that. Now, I'm leading the fucking train for the Jamie Ben con smite because ever since I did say that and wit corrected me and I admitted to getting bent over, no spit no loops, sandpaper finished, at least Anne's file two on one no back checkers. Listen, he ended up getting a primary assist the episode I said it and then back to back games he scored, including that one in game three in which we talked about it as soon as it happened. He gives that little flick of the fucking wrist, opens up Leonard when Leonard already had the angle. He already had that side of the net cover, but instincts brought his pads open and what does Jamie Ben do goes 5 hole to give their fucking team the two one lead? And stone ends up tying it up. That game was the night we did the electric chair. So we experienced maybe one of the worst hockey games I've ever seen through two periods. And I had the over under, which was set at 5. I actually got a push out of it, 'cause the third period and then OT was not so, I don't know if everyone's been online or Instagram and seeing RA with the warthog..

So why don't you put yandle as a 13 forward? Or the 12th, you know, or 12 forward or 7th D he doesn't need to play the power play, but you can't say it's all about the future and you have this 37 year old with four points. And I also heard it was the coach's decision, which I'm not in those conversations. I'm not in that room, right? So then I was like, what? That's bizarre. If it was the coach's decision and he was the one who was putting him in the lineup to break the record, why wouldn't he just keep him in? And I don't want to keep talking about this, but wait, do you think I was too critical and taken seeing both sides of it? No, no, there are two sides to it. Like I said on every single story and event in this league, there's always two sides. It's just, I'm kind of on the side of like, you have nothing going on there this year. There's zero reason to end that streak. There really is. And even if you want to end it at a thousand and give somebody the three final games. To me, I completely disagreed. But having seen Mike ruppell played a lot more games than me and Hal Gil played a lot more games than me, completely disagree. You know, there are definitely players who don't kind of sit with me, but I also know what was said inside that locker room. Hey, wasn't the D who stepped into minus four? But I hammered the hammer the leafs though that night. You just knew that flyers were going to get bad karma. You knew it said the locker room wasn't going to feel good about that game and the leafs went out and what they scored 6 or 7 goals. I mean, they've also lost the leafs. They're awesome. The leafs have me and Philly's two thirds of their game right now. Not gonna lie. I boys has been tons of score in the season, tons of points. That means a lot more milestones and Connor McDavid, Wednesday night in the four three shootout win over LA, he reached 100 points for the 5th time in his career. He's up to a 105 points in 69 games and he's got 12 more games to pass his career high of 108. He's probably going to blow that out of the water. He's the 19th player with 5 100 point seasons. He's only in the 7th season for comparison. Sid has 6 in 17 seasons, so not to make a McDavid versus Sid, but just to put it in perspective, only two guys in league history with a ten plus 100 point seasons of Mario and Wayne saw again McDavid just on this unreal trajectory. And just last night his teammate Leon draisaitl became the second player this year to hit 50 goals and he made it 6 to one versus Anaheim, just the second time he's hit 50. He needs one more for new career high and he's the third active player with multiple 50 goal seasons after ovi and stem. McDavid just keeps getting it done, Leon right alongside him. Well, and McDavid, he would have hit it in all 7 seasons if it wasn't for the shutdown because of COVID and then the injury as well. I think he was, I think it was a year where he ran into the goalpost, wasn't it? Yeah. That good point. So he would be 7 for 7. Guys, it's remarkable. And it's almost like we're the term I'm looking for. We're so used to it. I mean, we don't even really have them in the heart conversation this year, but he's going to end up running away with the scoring title again. Yeah, we're taking them for granted at this point, but it's very special. They got two special guys that are fun to watch. And I mean, as far as dry style is concerned, I mean, the guy kills penalties as well. So he's just an absolute fucking horse. And you talk about being scared of the Toronto Maple Leafs. I'm starting to get a little bit scared of the oilers. And people are like, oh, what are you scared about? They don't have any goaltending. I feel like they are starting to get that mojo. And their record under the new coach is incredible. They're just finding ways to win. They look like they're having a good time. I can tell you a lot right now, sorry, but no, no, go ahead. I've loved following your guys Calgary Edmonton bed all year long. I've wrote a couple blogs about it. I've made some boost because of it. And I've been on business side the whole time. Like the oilers, there's brutal, but I just was happening to look at the standings today. Edmonton would play the LA kings and Calgary might have to end up playing Las Vegas. Vegas. That is not a good matchup. If Edmund can even get home ice first the LA kings, they're moving on and then Calgary has got to deal with Vegas who nobody wants to deal with. I agree with you on paper that scares me. I have actually, since they've been on this run, watch more LA kings games, that even though they got some guys you've never heard of in the lineup, they are fast, they play extremely well defensively. They get timely saves, and they're a bugger to play against. They ended up beating Calgary in Calgary the other night in that shootout. And then where do they end up playing the night before that? And then they win a peg. They got 5 of 6 points Edmonton Calgary Winnipeg. And then they ended up coming back on Edmonton scoring those two quick goals. But but if I could a 100%. Edmonton looks knock on wood three times at your right hand. If Edmonton gets in. There could be no other matchup you'd rather want than LA. Give me that. Not for sure. That's what I'm saying. And the worst matchup would be vague. Like you don't want to see Vegas if they get all healthy. I sent out a tweet after that oilers win the other night. I sent her to tweet. I said, I'm starting to get a little bit nervous. I'm starting to get nervous, just like you were nervous the entire season about your left ear getting pierced. Kevin Garnett, I know you're not the biggest NBA guy, but this is a pretty significant thing, man. I mean, the Celtics would kind of dome it for a while. They won the next NBA title 2008. They almost won the next year. And it was pretty cool because him and Ray Allen, they've had some disagreements over the years and Ray Allen fart. He called them out during the retirement ceremony. Just a lunatic on the court, the shit talking and dropping more end bombs than anybody on it. Oh my God, he was just, he was vicious. I think people were afraid of him. What happened between him and rayon is is it because of when Allen left for the heat, all right? That was supposedly what happened, yeah. He was pissed that ray left for the heat and he thought they could have possibly one of the title and yeah, he's not wrong about that and he was upset about it for a while and there was always a bunch of controversy and friction with him, but the fact that Ray Allen for his number retirement and he called them out to bring him out on the court and then when Paul Pierce runs out and they did like the triple hog man like look, you know, I'm a bird chief Mikhail guy. I'm an 80s self guy, but to see that, I don't know how you hot would move, even as a Celtics fan and NBA fan to see like Paul Pierce and hug those two guys. It was awesome. It was like, okay, bye guns are by guns. They buried the hatchet. It was stupid that they probably argued about it anyways, but yeah, it was a great thing. And it felt like that this team should have won more titles here, but they brought a lot. They brought the champion status back to the Celtics, and I think they should be remembered for that and they're going to be. So. And also, I mean, they were up three two in that other series in lost both games in LA to lose that title. But that was one of the worst game 7s that I've ever seen in my life. "Their brother Mike was as good or infinitely better than they could have been. He was so good at hockey and he was much more like us. He just like loved to hang out. He didn't and don't get me wrong to play at that level. Like there's work in really hard. You're in the gym. You're in great shape, but going that extra mile and genuinely enjoying it is such a difference and especially when the game's gotten to where it is now. Like when we had Jeremy wrote it gone, he talked a lot about how like in the 80s and 90s, whoever got by kind of doing what we are approaches would be the best player in the world, but now when you get to that level where it's the fitness and the training and all of that and the nutrition, that whole approach makes guys just a little bit better to the point where over 82 games in the NHL or over four rounds of 72 holes like that's actually way better and it's the difference between a career or being top ten in the world and not really making it and you have to I think you have to love it or you have to teach yourself how to love it. That's super interesting, yeah. It is crazy because like these guys love it on this show. But like Diego like watching him play hockey like painted a beautiful picture like and I was lucky enough to play like yandle when we played each other in high school. He always found space. He always had space, just a magician with the park in terms of how he created. Watching Diego play was like the same way and I asked him one time I was like, yeah, you're like, why not? "Because for the most part, I would say in hockey, if not every other sport, usually there's one parent who's played the sport and sometimes the other parent isn't really familiar. Not often, I think, are there a husband and a wife who both played and are very familiar with hockey when their kids start playing. So my wife, you know, she does it. Nobody in her family played hockey, uncle's brother, no, she knew nothing. She didn't know anything about hockey and obviously I've gotten rider involved and he really enjoys it. So as he started doing learn to skate, probably like three months ago, he's loves it. And now he's got the hockey equipment every day. He's just rollerblading and wearing hockey gear. And as we were leaving Boston, just as he started with the, he went down to this Boston advantage kind of learned to play hockey. It's a step up from learn to skate. We just start just having the stick in your hands and see loved it. He did one. And I'm like, oh, no, we're going to Florida. He's not going to be able to skate for a while, right? Shit, so I talked to Keith yandle put me in touch with this woman coach Janine, she's great. I'm texting with her. She said, oh, you can come Saturday and I have this learn to play hockey thing. The kids are a little older, but it's fine. If he could skate and stuff, he can just come be a part of it and it's an hour on a Saturday, say, oh, great. So we get down here Thursday, and I have his gear with me and so Saturday I'm like, buddy, we're going to play hockey at noon. He's like so fired up. This kid is so pumped up to go put the gear on. So he drives like 25 minutes Pompano Beach and we get up there. Rink, like, yeah, not a great ring. I mean, there's not a lot of rinks around here, but we're getting dressed in the, just like the lobby of the rink. Now, as we're getting dressed, I see in the rink, there's a game going on. It was somebody I heard overheard somebody say it was like under 14, 14 hours, like the Florida fury was one of the teams. I don't know who they were playing. So I'm just like, oh, that's kind of like a decent amount of people there, right? You could tell it was a somewhat competitive game with older age kids. And so we're getting dressed. We're getting dressed. In the middle of getting him dressed, the game had ended and this kid comes off the ice and there's parents, there's parents of the opposing team standing together. I don't know if one of the parents said something to this kid or the kid for no reason, said this, but all of a sudden I hear suck my dick, the kid says to a group of parents, I'm like, what the hell is a dad? Who's talking to us like that? I was like, oh my God. Do I really want to get him involved in hockey right now? Like, oh my God. But mind you. It's no worries. So I get all this gear on. So I'm rubbing through the lost and found in a rink at Pompano Beach. I find him a Jersey that would be big on me. I had to tuck it into his pants and roll up the sleeves. I am such a loser. So as I'm putting the skates on last thing, I look, I'm like, there's what the hell there's no edges on his wheels, like no edge at all, like the skates are just a complete mess. Like, I'm talking not rubbing your hand on the blade, you know, and you get one Nick. I gotta get that fixed. You know, it was just straight up butter knife. Yeah, exactly awful. If you if you open the season you played one game in a normal season. Then you play Florida may be the next game, you'd have a different outlook. But when you play those two, that team twice, and you know, you really didn't Challenge them. I would have liked to have seen the Blackhawks in the position at some point to have the lead so they could really see what they could do. And maybe, you know, then you can play the fourth line a little bit more, and you can play cards a little bit closer to your chest. But Um, you know, that's not the case. I'm really interested to see how the matchup goes tonight between the Blackhawks in the Panthers. The Panthers, Um you know, you look at their roster, and it's sprinkled with a couple veteran type of players, but a lot of unknowns on their roster as well. And they don't have one of the highest paid goalies in the in the league available to him, so this is gonna be a different challenge. On. Let's assess.
