"All available corner speed and grip and it provides just as many places to get the back end out of shape as it does to lose the front so you have to temper your aggression which is probably why someone like. Cow crutch. slow doesn't consider this to be his favourite british track but it sure is a lot of fun to watch so that's where they're racing this weekend. Now let's talk about the riders particularly the favorites. The people i think have the best shot at competing for a podium and maybe taking the women this one and we're gonna start our favorites list this week with bobbio charro now. Fabio doesn't have a whole lot of moto. Gpa experience at silverstone and that's the theme that's going to carry through to a lot of the writers we talk about buddy goes triple for fabio because on motogp bike race. He's made it through a grand total of one corner that was back in two thousand nineteen and it was that wild crash that saw andrea. Also use fabulous. Bike is a sweet jump which was exciting to watch. but it didn't work out for either of them when it came to more results on. Fob you dig qualified fourth that weekend. And he was fastest an f. p. one f p two f. p. three and warm up the session. He wasn't fast. This was f. p. Four in that when he was second to marquez and that was as a rookie on a satellite petronas spike is a much better writer. Now he's on a much better bike to boot. You then toss in the fact that he's run well every single round the season even in the racist where the results don't make it. Look that way am. Fabio is one of the writers to beat this weekend. That being said it's racist slam dunk. It's essentially for him like learning a new track and however much he doesn't want to think about it the championship is going to start to linger in the back of his mind and that increases the chances that either takes too many risks or too few so even though he's capable of going out there and winning it a lot of factors at play that could prevent him on one side or the other now in exactly the opposite position. The fabio is marquez. Who has absolutely nothing to lose in this race and everything to gain by taking whatever risks are necessary to get on the podium and go after a win. Austria showed us once again. That mark is getting stronger and more capable of running near the front of races round by round and even though things went kinda sideways for him in the rain in the last race he's going to be bringing a lot of confidence into this one especially with another week to rest and recover even further and while this isn't marks best track you kind of have to take that idea in perspective because mark is one of only three riders on the grid to actually one emoji. Gp race at silverstone. He's got three podiums here and he was third in the last race that was run so even quote unquote not as best is still better than pretty much anyone else. So the farther removed. He is from his injury. The more promising he looks. And i can't imagine marquez won't find a way to factor into this race even if arrogant is his next real target because he is absolutely out of this world good when it comes to aragon next ryder up the favorites list joanne mirror. And i'm taking a little bit of a flyer here on. Show him being in the favorites category. But i think i can make the argument We'll start on the bad side. The bad news here is that mere has never raced at silverstone emoji. Gp he was injured in two thousand nineteen. The two thousand eighteen race was cancelled along. With of course the twenty twenty race so the last time that zhou amir raced in silverstone was two thousand seventeen and that was moto three. Not even motoo so. He's a complete unknown. When it comes to the premier class at this track but suzuki is not they have a win. In two of the last three mo- gp races run here with alex. Rinse two thousand. Nineteen and the maverick daniela's in two thousand seventeen and we saw in austria that their new ride height device gave them a big competitive and a big motivational boost particularly for mir. And that's something. He'll be able to utilize again this weekend. I think now wins of course won the last race here but with him. Struggling and mir running really well over the past. Couple of rounds. I'm going to go joanne as zouqi. I'm betting on to make a run at the podium. Come sunday on. Next up on the list. Is jack miller in this is another rider. Who doesn't have a whole lot of history here to build on although it does have a fair amount of wrecks at silverstone Jack's only premier class points finish was an eighth here. It was in the last race was run that was in two thousand nineteen. And he's coming into this one after two shockingly bad results in austria but there are multiple reasons to think that he could break out this weekend. Get back on track and get far better. Finish first and foremost is where jack has run. Well the season his best racists have been harassed lama and catalonia all of which are far closer infield to silverstone than a place like the rebel ring is where he was struggling. A miller spin able to make the dakota handle. And he's going to get the chance to do it again this weekend. And don't forget that a couple of races go couple of british cheese ago andrea co so. Prove that a coty can win at this track and that was a bike that didn't go round corners. Nearly as well as the current one does. So i look for a bounceback from jack in the podium contention and he's going to be super motivated to run well especially considering how austria went because didn't go like he ordered to. Kati wanted it to then. The final rider on my favorite's list this weekend brad bender. And i know you're thinking. Oh you just picked him because he won last weekend and yeah kind of them especially since he got there. More by cunning and rain prowess than by all out speed. But he's also the healthiest casey writer on a bike right now and the one that has the most momentum and the most confidence coming into this round kitty and hasn't really been able to test themselves consistently and silverstone because of all of the schedule interruptions. But they were getting better with paul spago and of course. They've made quite a leap in performance. Since that point so i would be surprised if at least one. Ktm rider if not more than one. Didn't jump up into contention at some point in this race and with bender having podium here motoo to emoto three think he's got a shot to complete that trifecta and collect silverstone podium in the premier class heart so those are the favorites so sorta writers that. I have the best shot of winning coming into this weekend. But they're not the only ones. I'll be keeping my eye out on the next list. The watchlist are guys who i think have a legitimate shot finishing in the top five and maybe making a push for the podium if they have a good day and we'll start out by talking about alex. Rinse the last time that moto. Gp ram at silverstone ruins one in one of the most stunning last corner passes in the motor gp era surprising marc marquez in a drag race to the flag and that should normally would make him one of the favorites coming into this weekend and i struggled with this one because he's kind of on my favorite's list in my mind but i couldn't officially put him there because he's just been stuck in between the season hasn't been qualifying well and then sometimes he does a good job overcoming that poor qualifying moving up and other times he just can't find his way through and the injury few weeks back didn't help matters at all either but with his success here silverstone does present the opportunity for alex rinse to break out of his slump get a season back on the right track so while i do expect better performance out of him. I'm not quite sure if it's going to be enough for the podium yet. I will say this though. Alex if you wanna put on another two thousand nineteen like show for us. I'm all in. Let's get it going. Pick your guy who went to chase down and give us an exciting finish Next up on the list is petco back. Naya back is kind of the opposite case as rinse. He doesn't have much of anything at all. In terms of results to lean on at silverstone just alone podium back in two thousand sixteen in moto three but this season he hasn't struggled at all. I think he's looked excellent. All things considered yeah. There was a little stumbling stereo. But he came back strong in the austrian. Gp looking fantastic in both the dry and the wet showing the best speed of any of the dakotas and now that he's moved himself up the second in the championship. I think petco is going to be ultra motivated to try to make up ground on. Fabio quarrel not an easy task and without those southeast asian rounds to lean on for their advantage..

"Obviously if he started winning races or getting on the podium could indirectly affect the rider championship but it could however make a real difference in what we were talking about earlier with valentina. Rossi the team race. Because if valentino give factory yamaha a slightly better chance of locking down that team championship. I think franken morbidelli. If he's feeling healthy we'll give them a much better chance of locking down that championship so in the end they might get some pushback from do on that because to cadiz not necessarily going to wanna willingly allow yamaha to get a much better quality rider on that second bike win on a technicality. They can either prevent it all together or force him to use the older equipment. I don't know what they would do that. But it all depends on. How much do. Kati wants to win that team championship. And it also doesn't say in the rule book if that has to be a unanimous decision or not and so if you know the answer to that definitely let me know on facebook or read it now. The other potential hang up here is that yamaha was rumored to be offering petronas to be suspect bikes for next year. Not necessarily a full factory and a b spec and in that case i would be pretty surprised if doby said yes to being handed a euro bike when we know he said no to aprilia for whatever. Their latest stuff was but yamaha could always simply change their mind on that offer. Patrolling the factory stuff for andre the video so should he want to race next year and then for this year he wouldn't necessarily have to take over the morbidelli bike for up to three races. He could be a wild card and get full factory equipment. At that point as well maybe impetus colors but he could be given any engine. They wanted him to have if he was just running. Say the last three races of the year as a wildcard as a warm up for next season and then up to that point. They do the thing where they're swapping outriders whether it be you know bender dixon or chevy vr. Hey or somebody else. Now the idea of bringing dre also two yamaha to ride on one of the sat rt bikes long-term. This would not be an impactful. Move for yamaha mean w is going to be thirty six years old next year. He's not gonna stick around for very much longer one way or the other short-term though it does solve a few major problems especially concerning s rt. It gives them a much needed injection of performance potential which they're sorely lacking this year in having a well known and popular writer on the bike is gonna make it much easier to bring in a sponsor. Maybe that's part of the deal when it comes to with you. I'm sure they would be much more excited to be working with the young rider and andrei dot. Co them may be a motoo rider. That hasn't done a whole lot. Emoto three writer. That probably shouldn't be making the jump straight to the premier class straight away so both of those things performance in sponsorship very critical right now with petronas bailing on the team as a sponsor leaving them probably pretty desperate for financial support. And let's face it. If you can't have allen tina rossi to bring in the bucks. Have an andre the video so not that bad of an alternative so because of the situation currently at us. Rt and a complete lack of viable alternatives on the outside bringing riders and talent. I think there is a real chance that this could happen. And like i said short-term not really a bad thing. I don't see the downside especially since it buys them another year where they can start playing in the two thousand twenty three scillies market where a lot more. Riders are going to be available and they'll probably be able to find some young talent to come up to the us. Rt team all right. So that's what's happening on the yamaha side of things. I know it's a lot to take in and a lot the process but just another week for the folks that yamaha. Now let's take a brief look at the other side of the equation which could end up being just as interesting. Maverick vangelis now. An official free agent could already be headed to approach. This was my thought about a second. After reading net yamaha announcement and intrigued. Goose asked the same thing on read. It is maverick headed to a right away. I think there's an even better chance of that. Then the andrea dot co soda. Yamaha thing there are already rumors that massimo revolt probably is ready to pounce on this very fortunate opportunity with plan skin maverick on an appropriate to test by the next week probably just scheduling motorcycles to be available was the big hurdle there and then after that point they're going to assess his comfort level out of that first test and come up with a plan with a very strong possibility that he'll run wild card braces between now and the end of the season and the thing is he could run every single race from aragon to the end of the season without having to be a jerk till lorenzo salvadore in the reason for that is because apparently still has concessions and that means they get six wild card appearances to use a year. Instead of three and with tentatively six races left in the season after silverstone. If in y'all as feels good enough after the test he could conceivably run the rest of the year and they wouldn't have to boot. Lorenzo salvadore out of the second bike to make that happen and as unusual of circumstances. This is weird of a situation. I mean we're talking about this. Before of rider in the middle of the season leaving the top manufacturer statistically of course to go to the bottom manufacturer. If really can make those wildcards happen. They absolutely should. It is a no brainer that they should put maverick on the bike. Like yesterday and not have a layoff between his time with omaha and his time with really. They need to have him on track. I mean we saw what happened inhaler. Enzo sat out a long time. And then try to get back on the grid and then andre david. Co so who may or may not but. He certainly is going to be rusty if he does come back this year. The last thing. That apparently or maverick for that matter want is for him to sit out. Half a season mean who knows what effect that might have on him heading into twenty twenty two plus. They get a huge advantage in terms of development and getting the bike. Ready for maverick. Next year in the word is that a probably are very close to having their new much more powerful and jim ready to roll out. The one that alex fargo said was so desperately needed to be able to match the capability of the chassis. So the timing is perfect. Get that bike in that engine. Inventory his hands right away when the pressure is off. There are no expectations here so he can fully get comfortable he can finish. That lasted doesn't matter. The important part is that he starts working on the package and getting it suited toward him so he can hit the ground running in two thousand twenty two so there will be no better plan than for them to get mab measured up for leathers and get him on the bike as quickly as they possibly can. In fact be stupid not to in fact. Andreas was convinced over on. Read it that this was all part of an evil master plan by says knowing that a had this new engine on the horizon had up the any little bit get yamaha to the point where they were okay to cut him loose so he could just make the switch and take advantage of it..

"Wouldn't blame yamaha. If they don't feel they can trust him to try to get good results especially not in the wake of the appropriate deal in that announcement. Because you know if maverick had gotten back on the almond finished dead last every race from here on out what difference would it. Really even make to maverick. I mean it's not going to affect whether he has a gig next season or not and you could make him look kind of bad not trying if it was provable that he wasn't trying but it probably doesn't care about that and that's all that really matters to him right now and on top of it. If he went out there and didn't try and finished very poorly he can just turn the whole thing around and blame it on yamaha blaming on the bike. He did that when he was happy with them so of course he would try to do that when he was unhappy with them and then they would feel compelled to defend themselves and then it just gets weird and uncomfortable the rest of the season and then on top of that yamaha gain the ability to start really testing parts for twenty twenty two on that second bike and yeah that luxury does come at the expense of the team championship or at least endangering their bid for the team championship. But that really would have hinged on maverick getting on the m one and getting consistent results consistently good results and that was kind of up in the air so it still may have been a bit of a gamble one way or the other even though as we talked about before of is that rides to his potential would've given yamaha a massively better shot at winning the team title and so in some ways. They're really writing that off but as we'll talk about here in a couple of minutes maybe they still have an answer to up their sleeve that they haven't played yet. I'm but still one way or the other. Even though maverick benefits on one side and yamaha certainly benefits on. There's this is still crazy to think about. I mean this is in a situation like joins zarko at ktm. There were no discernible results. It just wasn't working in both sides understood that and they decided the partways really more because ktm wanted to develop for the next year. It's not that they didn't want to be nice to zarko. I mean he would've stuck around and they would have him stick around till the end of the year had. They not had the new stuff that they wanted to develop for last season. But in this case this is a writer with a win and two podiums this season. He's six overall in points. And that's what the couple of terrible races and not only is he leaving a factory team that is leading the rider constructor and team championships right now but he may actually end up bracing for another factory team before the end of the year and again this is not like the johann zarco situation. Yes sarko wrote a honda at the end of that season. But it wasn't the same thing i mean. This is legitimately a guy who could have been an started out the year as a title contender dumping the best manufacturer. Statistically this season to go to the worst manufacturer this season. i mean. It's definitely not something that you or. I would have ever dreamed of at the beginning of the year. So that's the deal and we'll talk about the implications for maverick and what he might do next in a moment but first let's start with yamaha's plan going forward. Which at least for this weekend in silverstone consists of cal crutch. Slow moving to the factory bike and then a second british rider. Jake dixon coming up from the petronas moto to team to take over the motor. Gp bike for probably. What's just one race. But hey it's like the biggest race of his life he gets the race a motor. Gp bike made his debut at his home. Track in silverstone. Now cal was set to participate this weekend. Anyway of course on the franco morbidelli bike. Having him on maverick fan. Y'all is bike makes so much more sense for the reasons that we've already talked about moves from franken morbedelli's two thousand nineteen chassis to occur at one where he may or may not perform that much better but he'll have a real ability to test parts and provide feedback in data. That is far more useful to yamaha the rest of this season and of course heading into twenty twenty two and then the dixon thing i mean it doesn't necessarily mean he's gonna get that ride next season but it is a fantastic opportunity for the team to see whether he's got the potential to make that move for those who aren't terribly familiar. Jake dixon's moto statistics. Not really the thing that big time careers are built off of necessarily but you never know join arco who nobody wanted to take a gamble on until he finally won a couple of championships or a guy like yoenis vulgar who nobody paid attention to it all and then in his very brief motogp career. He showed some real promise. Maybe jake dickson has that same inherent ability. Once he gets on the bike. I dunno yamaha doesn't know but they're going to try and find out this weekend so i don't think it's that big of a deal that they're giving somebody who isn't a top rider emoto to a shop you know one race weekend just to kinda give them a test and this does give patrolling the opportunity then to try out multiple riders at least until the point that franken morbidelli comes back so i would expect that. We'll probably see dixon just this weekend. And then maybe darren bender at aragon. Which i think is very likely considering. The fact that dixon is apparently doing test next week on a yamaha superbike obviously not on a motor. Gp by he's not allowed to abide he'll ride basically thousand cc either street bike or maybe a wsb k. Prepared bike or somewhere in between and then from there though determine whether he's going to get a motor gp shop for a race. And i would fully expect to see them. Give him the opportunity in aragon if it goes beyond that and morbidelli can't come back. I'm not quite sure who they go to next. But they could either alternate dixon and bender. They might get caviar. Hey into the mix or they might have somebody else to come up in kind of. Take a shot at bike. If you've got that opportunity you've got the luxury of a bike to give for a couple of rounds until your guy comes back. Might as well make the most of it and as for cal on the factory bike. No plans have been announced past silverstone now one would assume that crutch slow continue the rest of the season but there are other possibilities here a big one that we're going to talk about in a moment but a minor one could we see valentino. Rossi returned to the factory team for anywhere from the rest of the.

"All right so here. We go the rundown just about everything. We're going to talk about on this episode of the program and boy do we have some moto. Gp news to discuss before we get all the yamaha stuff. We're going to start with the schedule announcement. Because unfortunately the malaysian gp has been cancelled. And it's going to be replaced with a very rossi approved extravaganza later on in the season. Then we will move the maverick who is officially finished at yamaha. And i'll tell you why that move makes complete sense for just about everybody involved. A cao crutcher is gonna move up to the factory team. And there's another brit coming to yamaha this weekend for the british gpl. I'll tell you who it is. And then could we see maverick. Penola as at apprecia- and andrea davinci oso at yamaha. Both this season. I don't know. I have strong feelings about one. The other one. I'm not quite sure what's going to happen. But we'll discuss both of them coming up here. And then the vr forty-six thing continues to be thoroughly confusing So we'll talk about their latest quasi sorta press conference along with some valentina rossi news. then we'll move onto. Your comments on yamaha maverick. Violas various writers at takada world superbike and a whole lot more will also discuss some picks and video. That were posted on reddit this past week and then it's time to go racing again. That's right silverstone is this weekend. We'll do the full preview of round twelve of the twenty twenty one world championship the british gp with of course at the very end my picks and they are going to be good. Just warning. you in advance All right so let's get started with the motor. Gp news we'll kick it off with the schedule announcement made by dorner. This week that the malaysian gp unfortunately has been cancelled. And that's a bummer. Especially if you're a malaysian motor. Gp fan or any kind of do writer rider. The interesting part here is that the film race. For the malaysian. Gp is a trip back to misano on october twenty fourth. Now there were two masan around last year so that move in and of itself is not unprecedented but it did prompt lucas. Impede ask if maybe we should call. This the rossi. Gp and valentino helmet designs from across the years. Now he was obviously joking about that. But i do not think that the late choice of another misano round is a mistake at all. There are other places they could have picked. I think they picked me sano for one reason and one reason alone. The doctors last race in italy so in many ways it will be the rossi. Gp what people to buy tickets to this is it and if it gives the doctor one more shot a two under podiums. Well all the better. And i can't imagine in either of those misano rounds if valentine rossi should be able to score that two hundred podium places gonna go absolutely bonkers. I think even the italian marquez fans are gonna run out on to the track. Congratulate valentino. It's going to be a very like seventies or eighties style celebration with everybody just running all over the place if that happens and i don't overwhelm but i kind of fingers crossed that it does because why not it would be a fitting into a career that featured lots of very crazy and unusual moments so i not ended that way to all right. So let's get the omaha. Like i said at the top of the show. I'm not necessarily surprised by this but it is still relatively unprecedented in announcement. Which i believe was bhai maverick. I don't even think it came directly from yamaha at first but one way or the other. Maverick vignon has released a statement last week. Simply saying that quote after thorough consideration both parties have agreed it would be best to end the relationship with immediate effect. Meaning that starting this weekend. Maverick vinyl is is not just suspended from his yamaha. he's no longer a yamaha rider or yamaha employees at all. Now what this does is two. Fold number one. It confirms that yamaha really had no plans to put maverick venezuela's back on the m one for the rest of the season after that whole styrian gp debacle. However it also means. That maverick is now immediately available to oh. I don't know maybe race for more on that in the second up. First let's talk about the yamaha slash maverick side of this whole thing. In all honesty this move makes sense and it solves a lot of problems especially on the yamaha side of the equation. We know what it's for. Maverick he didn't want to be there in the first place and so now he doesn't have to deal with that entire situation and if he wants to start early for yup well. He's going to be able to do that. So it's clear what problems the solves on maverick's side of things but from the perspective they don't have to continue to be the bad guy or at least look like they're being the bad guy. Making maverick sit in the corner and think about what he did while other writers take his place but conversely they also don't have to just blindly trust that they can put maverick on the bike again. And he's going to go out there and actually try instead of phoning it in the rest of the season or worse. Try to damage their equipment like he did in syria. And i totally wouldn't blame yamaha. If they don't feel they can trust him to try to get good results especially not in the wake of the appropriate deal in that announcement..

"That's officially crowning yamaha. The new undisputed heavyweight champion of motor. Gp drama yep sorry to kati you lost the title and you're going to have to step up your game big time. If you wanna take back the top spot. I mean come on guys. Do something signed valentine orazio. Or how about this make pedroia kosta. Then tell jack miller impeccable. Nah they're going to have to compete for factory spot next to him get wild. Get crazy declared team mortars solely for the benefit of a naboth steamy for no discernible reason. You can do this. I had faith in you. Yamaha is back at it again this week. Announcing the not entirely unexpected but still pretty unprecedent. Move of outright dropping. Maverick vanilla meaning not only will not be on factory and one the rest of the season but he's also free to join a pretty immediately if he wants and he just may want that. We'll talk about that coming up a little bit. And as if all of that is wild enough and yamaha needs to do something else just to put them over the top when it comes to drama. Well we may may just have a last minute. Wwe style run in by andrea zero cosell. Yeah we'll talk about all of the amaha drama today on the show along with what they're gonna do to replace maverick. "Stu in scotland said he was impressed with the way that like alona hung in there this past weekend and added that a motor. Gp team would do well to see that he sticks around and you know is kind of in the mindset that yamaha or anybody else can have eaker likable enough. They want him. You know we were talking just a little bit earlier about some of the options yamaha may be considering right now. But at this point s. t. Could do a lot worse than a guy like eaker lackawanna in the kid is only twenty one years old so there is room to grow. You know if you had asked me a few months ago. I would say oh well. There's much much better options for the yamaha satellite team. But you know taking a step back. I don't think lekukhona would be a bad choice at all. And like i said on last week show gustav. Fernandez is another guy that i would be willing to take a shot on. If i were azzam rally knowing what he's got in the house right now to go in the next season with a pair that involves augusta fernandez and eaker lackawanna. I'd be cautiously optimistic. That some positive things would happen there. I don't know maybe it's just me. I'm in the finally are z. Dreams posted another fun poll this week after all of the maha drama. What's next what crazy thing could possibly happen with the omaha. After this among the options cal going fulltime next year rossi postponing his retirement. Lynn jarvis going with maverick to aprilia. That ain't happening. By the way. I think candy roberts senior coming back fulltime. That would happen before. Lynn jarvis who go with maverick venezuela has to really I actually went in that poll with the one that the majority of people ended up. Picking the are forty-six replacing patroness as the amah satellite team. Not because. I think that it's actually going to happen. That it's the most feasible because we are forty six already signed a contract with to kati for whatever that's worth and yamaha's is but i picked that more because we're talking about yamaha and even if nobody actually picked up the phone and called valentino to ask him about it. I would be shocked if yamaha hasn't had some sort of serious internal discussion about whether they should try to convince. Vr forty six to bail on qadi income yamaha. Now even though. That's the one i picked. I wouldn't totally rule out. Rossi delaying his retirement. Although that would likely create some big problems with the vr forty-six prints Since valley's already said no to him. And by the way i think yamaha has just about wrestled the all time drama crown away from do khadi now and if there is still any doubt about who. The king of drama is in the motogp paddock I think yamaha. Kimberly lock themselves into the undisputed champ title with a petronas bailing on them this week and be especially depending on what they decide to do with maverick fan. Y'all is starting next weekend but takada the gauntlett has certainly been thrown down. And you're going to have to work extra hard. If you want to outdo what's your friends over at yom hive accomplished just in the past six months alone. It's absolutely positively insane. All right so let's wrap up the show with a couple of picks and video that were posted on reddit over the past couple of days and i may have missed a couple because i haven't looked today before i sat down to record. So if you posted a picture or something and i missed it i apologize. We'll start with tattooed raven who had a hell of a new bike day over the weekend the fortieth anniversary are twelve. Fifty gs adventure has arrived in all of its bumblebee colored. Goodness and almost would argue by the way that bmw takes all the fun out of it with that bike because seriously looking at that picture. How do you markle that bike. It's already got everything. It's got an engine guard. Hand guards yellow cylinder protectors fog lamps bags. I'm sure it's got heated. Grips and cruise control probably. Asa to is an awesome bike is absolutely loaded. Congrats it's gonna be fun. You're going to love it. you'll be able to put a ton of miles on it. And i'm pretty sure that bar twelve fifty. Gs is very approving of your decision as well and can tell you a budget stories already of adventuring around waga waga on his even if none of the rest of us have a town as cool as waga waga to live in right around Ranch ride whiskey was living up to the first part of his username. I mean seeing those picks. I feel the same way i do when fate three sixteen posts one of his projects. It just makes me want to get in the garage and tear down a bike and build it back up again in a really need to do that to both the triumph and the motor week bike But then as soon as i get that motivated. I realize it's one hundred and fifteen degrees out in takes a lot of time but like i said the speed triple and especially the do khadi could really benefit from taking it down to the frame building it back up again cleaning everything up in replacing the bad stuff is ago boisture. Did i say your username right. He was out at. I think the original sinclair station. That's an early one for sure. It was an all yamaha fair finding it as well with an six. I like the fact that they make them to go below the frame and kind of below the tank and the seat there. It's like i said subtle but it looks really really nice all right so that does it for the comments and pick some video. If i didn't get to yours chances. "Well or he doesn't have a very good feeling then. I fully expect maverick to shop himself. Very hard to suzuki and do cod over the off season with the former likely being much more interested than the ladder because of their background together because takada wants to slant towards younger riders. So it's gonna be a particularly odd situation or it could be because remember maverick. Penola signed his last contract with yamaha before the season even started. And so it's entirely possible that he could be signed to apprecia- have never ridden apprecia- anywhere yet not even in the test but he could theoretically be on the phone shopping himself around to another manufacturer starting in twenty twenty three. How weird would that be. I know right and neither side knows how this is gonna work out me maverick. Could have a deal in principle. With suzuki in twenty twenty three in the could go out there and start winning races and think man. This is the best thing ever them. What happens so it's only gonna get more interesting as we get done with the season into the off season if and only if there are some rumors that come out. That maverick is talking to other manufactures and so probably still has to make this move. Obviously they do but then when you toss back in the current situation between yamaha maverick than y'all as well things do become a little bit more complicated. It's not quite the slam dunk that it seems when you just look at potential in stats. We see that appropriate is taking on some riskier themselves by making this move. Not just maverick by going to a bike. That's never been on the podium before especially considering that it probably is probably ponying up a decent amount of money to make this happen mean yes. There's a decent chance that this might be a contract at a lower salary than what he was making it yamaha with performance bonuses on top of it but one way or the other i think we can all be fairly certain. He's going to be making more money than lorenzo salvadore. Or even. Allie spago or. Maybe the two of them put together from the moment he walks in the door. And because of that. If i were a prelude i'd be a little apprehensive. Yeah considering what they're seeing between venezuela's and yamaha right now but it wouldn't make me apprehensive enough not to sign him especially when the commitment is just for a year and a premium might have the ability to dump out of the contract to so this is going to be a very interesting experiment because will really get to find out. What's most important to maverick. Y'all is he said when he announced his split with yamaha that it wasn't about the performance of the bike. It was about the attention that the team was giving him the environment that he was racing and his dad said the same thing and the suggestion. There is the mavericks in yellows. Could go to a pro bono bike..

"Hello and welcome tom moto. My name is wilson. Thank you so much for listening to the only gp show on the internet. Who's host maybe racing for yamaha next weekend. Nobody else's weekend so why not. I mean i could probably get around the rebel ring in say two minutes. And that's just as fast as allies spago last weekend course. Salish was racing in downpour on expedition. Piggy details just when you thought the yamaha drama. Couldn't get any nuttier. It does as maverick. Minneola is officially announces. That he's headed to aprilia next season. And petronas say they're ditching. The sapang racing team so now yamaha satellite organization has no riders in no sponsor for twenty twenty two. So we'll talk about whether things could possibly get any worse for yamaha and what their options are now across the board. Plus we'll have your thoughts on brad. Benders ballsy win last weekend whether to aprilia is a good idea or not in a lot more. So let's get on with it. We got a lot to talk about before we get started doing by over to the website. "And somebody that i think would be a steel for yamaha. I mean if they were going to risk losing morbidelli by putting somebody other than him on that factory team. I think olivera will be one of the writers that would make it worth the risk because you get a young talented guy with a lot of potential. We know we can win races. We know you can get the most out of the bike. That'd be pretty captivating. If i were yamaha. I just don't think the ktm would let it happen but technically he is available so it's got to be out there on the radar. I'm right so those are the possibilities. I think the franklin morbidelli is probably gonna be moved up to the factory squad. And then i'm not quite sure what's going to happen at petronas if i had to rank the other possibilities when it comes to petronas realistically because i think the ktm plays a big role enroll fernandez. I'm not ranking them. In terms of talent necessarily potential upside but in the order. I think that they're most likely to move into that petronas. Right of the guys we talked about. I would say scott leo. Glue girl off them. Fernandez and other options. I think that's a realistic way looking at what might happen there. I'm all right so the last thing that i want to talk about some other rumors that were kicked around. You know with valentino rossi. Is he going to come back to the factory squad. I think we've put that to bed. He's not going to do that. But is this announcement by maverick fan. Y'all is opening up an extra slot at yamaha. They didn't know they were going to have. Does that. affect what valentine rossi dozen twenty twenty two because right now. The perception with his performance level is that he's blocking spot for an upcoming yamaha rider. And so that's why he should willingly step aside to allow some young talent to come in and help develop the program and move them forward. Now with maverick out of the way they could move frankie up and still have an open seat epa terminus in twenty twenty two. So does all of this effect valentino rossi's career decision whether he stays or goes next season now. The doctor says no. It doesn't have any effect. And you know what i believe him. I mean don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that valets decision is going to be based entirely on performance. Like he's suggesting. I think he'll consider things like sponsorship deals. What dorna wants is going to be very influential. I mean it's possible that you know as part of the deal for vr forty-six to come to moto gp. That valentino has to agree to race for x. number of years because let's face it him. Being in the sport is good for its popularity and also at yamaha wants based on what his contract says. So i think that all of those things plus how much fun he's having on. The bike are going to factor in. But of all the things that i think are going to play and his decision. I don't think the fact that there's an extra free bike yamaha is really gonna have much to do with. I mean the idea that he doesn't have to vacate that petronas ride. I think all those other things will come first in the decision making process before we get to that all right so that does it for this episode of the program. What do you think do you think is the best spot for maverick finales. Who do you think. More importantly because a lot of people have already expressed their opinion on maverick going to affiliates. So i guess really the more important question that i would love to know your opinion on. Who's gonna take that factory yamaha seat and if it's franken morbidelli who's going to go to petronas so you know what to do. Facebook read it. Lemme know what you think all right. So what's coming up on the next episode you. You're coming up. You're going to be the star because we're going to focus on some of your comments from the dutch t t and the premier class heading into the summer break because we talked only about the vanilla situation and all of the associated teams and riders. There was actually more stuff that happened last week. And more things you had opinions on so we're going to highlight some of those on next week's show plus we'll follow up with some more. Your thoughts on the maverick and the yamaha situation specifically who you think should take that seat. Of course we'll also talk about any of the latest moto gp news. That's coming up in a whole lot more now. I don't think you're going to have to wait until next week. I wanna do a comment show getting into or sometime during the weekend because we also have some great picks and video. I wanna discuss as well so stay tuned for that in fact. I don't want you to miss a single episode of the program. Since i'm trying to give you extras right now during the break. So if you haven't done it yet. I would subscribe to the show. You can do that on apple podcasts. Google podcasts speaker stitcher.

"Now there is always an exception to the rule. And to- proc could very well be that exception. If i were yamaha i would give it a try. I mean they could always make a deal where he comes to petronas for one year and if he doesn't like it then he can go straight back to world superbike. They'll save a seat forum. I mean because he's in house. There are many different ways they could structure the deal to make it work best for him and i think it's worth pursuing it selfishly. I want it to happen. Because i just think it's fun to say 'to proc road scott leo glue on a regular basis Another writer whose name was kicked around immediately after the rumors came out on. Saturday is another world superbike guy and one that was currently filling in for franken morbidelli last weekend and asset. That's the american garrett girl off and his name very likely will be on the list because after all he's been yamaha's goto over the past five or six months when it comes to a film writer he was gonna fill in for valentine rossy. Didn't need to in the end. But then he filled in for franken morbidelli. will that translate straight to a motor. Gp gig well. I'm not really sure. And i don't think that's going to happen with the factory team. I think possibly with petronas if frankie moves up mean obviously there's potential there or else yamaha wouldn't be giving him these opportunities. He's really been digging hard and trying to learn. In the limited time he's had on a motor. Gp bike and i think that door no would kick him resources to help make it happen to help facilitate in one way or another because it's very important to them to have a us rider on the grid. And so if there's somebody who has the talent level like eric girl loft does then. I think that they would help encourage and help move that long. I would love to see this. That's a bit of a home or comment on my part. But i will admit that there is a pretty long line of other candidates in front of garett girl off so i'm not gonna hold my breath at this point just going to be hopeful that it's somebody that yamaha seriously considers. There are some other writers though that may seem a little bit unconventional at first. Those riders guys like calcutt low current yamaha test rider. Or how about andrea david. Co so now over them read it. Diogo sewri posted a linked to an article mentioning v as a possibility for yamaha. And i'm gonna go ahead and lump cal. Crutch slow into this discussion as well and you know with a bevy of young talent out there. Some of which we've already mentioned. It would be very easy to dismiss both of those riders. But i wouldn't entirely mean as jug bridge replied to diogo. There are some reasons. The yamaha may choose to go the route of the old guy or bringing the old guy back because remember next year is silly season market is going to be way bigger than this one. A lot of riders coming off a two year contracts next year so a veteran like cal or dobie could fill the spot nicely for yamaha and a pinch and then they could turn it around and use it to their advantage and make that seat more about development. That's easy to do when you've got a guy like fabio on the other side of the garage going after wins and a championship Cal would put a british rider back on the grid just like garrett girl off that something that dorner would get behind because they want a british rider back on the greatest like they want a. Us rider on the grid and dovy would give them a very popular very marketable writer and they can have a bit of a reunion to close out his career. So yeah i by the rumors with dovy that at least there's some thought that's going on there because i honestly don't think either one of those guys are that far fetched but only only as a stopgap one year solution and even with a temporary move like that. Yeah you gain options in the next silly season cycle. But like miller's tasker was saying earlier you also vastly increase your chances that you drive away. Franken morbidelli because of it and you need to be prepared for that. You need to have a real game plan if you're going to do that now. Ultimately i think that racing armchair is right going with an older rider. Light cow like dovy doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Although i would add unless there is something specific that yamaha things they could gain from that one season whether it be in development sense. Or maybe you know. They think they can get joe amir or alex. Rinse or somebody like that. If they just wait one more season otherwise yeah move on get a young rider somebody in there to either push fabio and challenge him or it'd be ready to step up if there's a stumble on fabulous us part and on a bit of a side note since we're talking about andrea video so a little bit here tattoo driven asked if dole the ultimately made the right decision dragging his feet with appropriate therefore opening the door the maverick and maybe encouraging him to go explore some other options. I don't know. I don't know if he did himself a favour or not because probably it was clearly his best shot to return to the motor. Gp grid. They absolutely wanted him for next season before they knew that maverick was available. So i think that andrea reduces his chances significantly overall of getting back on the grid but if he had some conversations with yamaha that we are privy to. Well then maybe. He's being slide like a fox. Maybe he was being coy with apprecia- because he knew the maverick was about to quit and that probably will really want him and then maybe he would encourage appropriate against him so he can slide in behind. Maybe take the petronas seat or the factory. Yamaha seat for twenty twenty two. I know i'm stretched ended out there pretty far. But he got to explore every option in a weird situation like this. And then mr t. Brought up one more ryder. I had honestly not considered yet. What about me lavera. I know i mentioned him earlier. He's not yet signed off his current one year. Deal like brad bender already did. Could he be on the radar. And that's a genuinely intriguing idea..

"When it comes down to it we talked about this earlier and joins arco. Might be ahead of violas in line as well being the lead. Primack kreider the second thing. I'm not really sure that nato the team boston bureau forty six is going to be too interested in spending a ton of money to put maverick above the vr. Forty six academy riders. That are coming up. I mean rossi doesn't seem to interested in making an exception for himself in that respect. So why would he. Then do. It for maverick manolas and even with that saudi oil money coming in the salary and the personnel needed to cater to a rider of maverick stature. May not be something they're willing to do financially and i think that those reasons plus some others of course are one of the reasons why that rumor seems to be fading very very fast after it came on strong in the wake of the announcement. But let's talk about some other organizations to. Let's not take anybody off the board here. Let's look ktm because technically ktm have not resigned. Miguel of area for twenty twenty two and we definitely know that there is a tech three seat up for grabs as well when it comes to tech. Three mavs not gonna do that. Especially given the team's performance this season the factory team could be an option but there are a couple of things standing in the way there as well number one k. experience was johann. Zarco is gonna make them very very gun shy on another moody yamaha rider coming in with some pedigree that thinks they can do wonders with their machine and number two he would have to take the place of miguel olivera and right now. A lavar is one of the hottest drivers in the sport. And i do not see. Ktm giving up that potential for the unknown. That would be maverick coming into their organization. Uninitiated then. We've got honda would never even yell as ride alongside mark marquess. I seriously doubt it He didn't like playing second fiddle to the valentina rossi and mark very arguably has a much tighter grip on honda than the doctor did on yamaha in two thousand seventeen two thousand eighteen. Plus you look at how we're he'll lorenzo completely crashed and burned on that bike. I'm not sure that maverick would even be interested in taking that chance if it were presented to them. I think it would listen. I just don't think he would do it. I'm m while police boggles results. Definitely aren't there. I think their relationship is still plenty good enough that they aren't gonna have lorenzo repeat in the contract department where spago leaves after one season and that would be necessary to make room for somebody like mark And then when it comes to suzuki. I think they're perfectly happy. With show mir the guys at defending champion and alex rinse who yes has had tons of terrible terrible luck this year and some of itself made texting while riding his bicycle. But i still think that suzuki's very happy with both those riders and they're both going to be highly sought after next year because they're young. They've got plenty of upside left. So i think suzuki is going to be definitely satisfied to keep what they have seen. Both of their riders are currently under contract right now. So apprecia- is by far the most likely destination for maverick next season. But just as big of a question who's coming in the omaha and who's going to get that factory ride and that question is a little bit more open ended for me. So let's talk about some of the candidates and talk about some of the rumors the first one i want to get out of the way real fast. Valentina roc- coming back to the factory squad. I think the answer here is a resounding no not gonna happen i. He'll be forty three years old next year. The performance isn't there and even if yamaha went to the doctor and asked him. I don't think he would say yes at this point it's not gonna happen. You just cross them off the list altogether instead. Let's head to franken morbidelli. And what a terrible terrible time to have a major injury but still in my opinion. Frankie is the top candidate for this factory job. He came into his own last year. With three victories second overall in the championship and when it comes to demeanor that is what yamaha needs right. Now he is the exact opposite of in yala. Nothing seems to phase me always seems to have a positive outlook. Even when he saddled with an old bike and speaking of that his performance last year has finally convinced frankie that he deserves a factory level bike and yamaha were already willing to give him the top spec stuff next year. Epa terminus now. Franco's contract is with the satellite team. It's not with yamaha and it is a two year deal that he's in the middle of so there are some details to work out there but they're really minor ones. It's nothing they couldn't get around but with this seat open and that rider waiting in the wings. This is really a moment of reckoning for yamaha. What is their opinion of. Morbidelli is morbidelli to them going to be the next fabio quattro or the next johann zarco meaning. Are they going to move them up. Because they know they'll be able to keep them if they do or are they going to not move him up im- risk letting him walk. Because as miller's tassie girl says if morbidelli doesn't move up he's pretty much gone at the end of next season although there is one exception and we'll talk about that in a moment so following in the footsteps of coiro seems primed to make this move and by moving him up then a slot opens a patrols and that becomes a much better fit for a few of the other riders. That were about to talk about on this list. And the first of those guys raul fernandez who is supremely talented but also supremely committed to casey m a so much so that he's already said multiple times he's willing to remain emoto to just so he can stay on a rebel. Ktm bike next year. And he's got a healthy buyout clause in his contract as well that yamaha would have to pay off if they were able to entice him away. Looking at the future role fernandez would be an incredible get for yamaha. I mean i would do that. Move all day long. Even if he wanted the factory bike i would really truly consider putting him straight on the factory by. He's that good. But i think kate sam will fight against yamaha every step of the way they pursue this and i think that we're all would also probably be best for petronas seat not only because he's only run part of the year motoo so far But by doing it that way you get will and you get to keep franken morbidelli by moving him up so the best of both worlds and speaking of young talent that could be a potential candidate for petronas or maybe even the factory team although that might be a bit of a stretch topa scotla glue has got to be on yamaha's list. The twenty four year old has been tearing it up in world superbike. The season's just twenty points behind the monolith that is jonathan ray. He's got talent for days now right now. He says he likes his spot in world. Superbike and i can kind of understand why he says that because right now. He's looking like the heir-apparent to jonathan ray. And johnny hasn't done so bad for himself in superbikes making that his career once he found the right place and what scotla glue seems to found or be finding the right place but the other thing here is that multiple riders have gone from motor. Gp to world superbike with success. The very few have made a successful switch coming from superbikes to the premier class With cow crutch slow probably being the best..

"Mean that ingest. That's not joking around thing number one and number two. It's a legitimate avenue. I mean heck. It's worked like a charm for fabio quad sharara and other athletes as well and so. I don't think that there's anything bad about with that kind of pressure that guys like then. Y'all isn't everybody emoji. Gp must be feeling to have an outlet for that that doesn't involve spouting off to the media about your team or your boss or winning to go. Someplace else would probably help get his performance on track. More focused and more consistent and better overall but maverick is going someplace else. So where where is. Vin is headed in twenty twenty two. Well let's talk about some of the options and we're going to start with the big one apprecia- that's where the rumors started on saturday. That a deal had already been either agreed to or maybe even signed. And i would say by far. That is the most likely destination for maverick next season. They're the only one that had a factory seat officially opened for next year. They desperately need somebody to help them. Take the bike to the next level. And as of right now andrea the video seems to be dragging his feet a little bit. Not sure if that's because he truly is apprehensive with the organization or the developmental structure and nola. Maybe he's still not confidence with the performance of the bike or if he just simply likes having a lot of time on his own to go to starbucks right now but one way or the other apprecia- can give maverick the one thing that he wants the most attention and top status and in return. Then y'all is gives a out what they want the most right now. A top level rider that can go out there and potentially get on the podium and win races but if the performance issues and slow development of the yamaha were enough to drive him away with the fear is that apprecia- isn't going to be any better. They're likely going to be worse at least to start some. How is maverick gonna react. How long will his patients last with the development of the bike and if andrea ditsy also remains as the test rider. And he's got some strong opinions on the direction of the bike. That may be conflict with maverick. Is how is that all going to work for him. And since his top priority supposedly is being the clear number. One is having that level of attention that atop factory rider should get will that alone. Be enough to offset the inevitable. Step back in performance. Those are some really big questions. Given the circumstances under which he's leaving yamaha at least the potential is there. You know for maverick to truly forge some new ground and score previous. I win just like he did for suzuki and their latest iteration but the potential is also there for a lot of drama to and you guys agree. Peter fifty-eight kerry started a discussion over. Read it about whether maverick is even the right fit for provia and the majority of the replies highlighted the inconsistency of his yamaha results and they were wondering if given the place where appropriate is in their development right now. If maverick provides any big advantage for the manufacturer as opposed to somebody who typically is very consistent like dovy that maybe dough the is better for the long term development of the bike. As opposed to maverick and that is a good argument. But i also think it's an argument that apprecia- is not going to be too terribly concerned with honestly because yes maverick has proven to be inconsistent but on the good days the potential definitely is going to be there for him to go out and win a race and that's a pretty big box office. Draw when you're the only manufacturer on the grid without a victory. And i think that ultimately it's going to be a trade off that massimo revolt la is not only going to be willing to make but eager to make and of course it is a little bit easier to be cavalier in that respect when you do have somebody very consistent like alessio spago already in house and possibly andrea david so continuing on testing. I mean there are a few people like intrigued. Goose who are optimistic. About the idea of maverick. On the radio with doe. V remaining as the test rider sedova makes the bike better. Maverick goes out there and takes full advantage of it and again i can absolutely see why apprecia- would find that option very attractive. I mean despite the cautionary tale that was or hill. Lorenzo at honda and or hey lorenzo at do coty And speaking of do audi. Let's talk about them now because the new rumor floating around in the wake of the announcement was venezuela's might actually be headed to do coty on a second bike for vr forty-six. Or what would be. I guess the first bike for vr forty six now do khadi would certainly be the closest thing he could get performance wise to the yamaha that he was riding on for next season. And the are forty. Six is getting a full factory bike so presumably twenty twenty two that would come with upgrades and would come with some extra support behind the scenes as well and that could be very attractive to someone like maverick fan. Y'all is and i can imagine that the saudi prince. That's picking up the tab for valley's team would be interested in mave as well as you already wanted to make a big splash next year by putting rossi on the bike himself. If that can happen evergreen yell is probably pretty good substitute in that respect however there are a couple of issues that i can see here number one. Vr forty-six may carry some instant influence. But there's still a satellite team and do cod. You're still going. To put jack miller and petco bagai of him in the pecking order every time..

"A great writer like maverick can get them on the podium in short order but winning and getting more wins them. What he's used to getting on the yamaha that's going to take work and being a legit championship. Contender is gonna take a lot of work and it could take a fair amount of time to now if we look at it from the cadi perspective. The performance is going to be there right out of the box. That's faster bike than the probably right. Now they're making strides all the time but it is a satellite team that he would be racing for and in the end. Do kadi is always going to give preference to the factory. Riders as mapping eight can tell you any day of the week So one option is going to be behind on performance the other behind on prestige and preference the two main hanging points that he has right now with yamaha he feels that the performance is inconsistent. And that they're not treating him like a number one rider. Well he could go to appropriate. He could go to kathi. He's only gonna get one of those things probably is definitely going to treat him like the clear number one. You're going to be super happy to have him there but they can't give him a bike that's better than the omaha do- coty may be able to give him a bike. That's the equal of or sometimes better than the omaha. But if the jack miller and eat the nilo petrucci he ain't going to be number one and so that's why i go back to my initial statement lot of weather. This is the right. Move for maverick. And whether it's actually going to make him happier all depends on his expectations. If maverick's main goal is to be the number one is to have the team build the bike around him as opposed asking him to adjust to the bike and by the way his dad maverick fan. Y'all is his dad. Did an interview this week. And he said that is the only reason in his estimation. Why maverick is leaving yamaha. Not because he doesn't want to be on that bike but because he feels that the team isn't taking his opinion seriously and isn't molding the bike to his capabilities. And that's what he wants and if that is his main goal then for sure then y'all is could be happy at a pro and over on facebook. Andreas made a comment that he thinks that that feeling of being that number one rider in having the manufacturer mold the bike around. You just like honda with marc marquez. He thinks that's really what's behind. A lot of mavericks very public very vocal complaints with the bike. And that he's doing that not so much because he thinks there's some magic thing that yamaha's withholding from him that they're giving the fabio but more they aren't acting on his opinions and i can believe that a good part of his jabs at the engineers and the bike are a bit of projecting of his emotional state not being that number one in feeling insecure about that. But let's face it. Even if maverick's father is being genuine and saying that his priority is the feeling is the relationship with the team when it comes down to it. Performance is really always the top priority for everyone emoji p. for riders for teams for manufacturers. Because let's face it. If maverick didn't feel coddled by yamaha but he was winning six races a year and grabbing twelve or fourteen podiums. He wouldn't be looking around at other options. He wouldn't be having press conferences where he said. He made a huge mistake re-signing and he wouldn't be saying he felt disrespected by the team. Even if they were blatantly disrespecting him to his face if he was winning ten races a year he wouldn't care about that. Okay maybe my care about a little bit but not enough to leave if he was women championships man. I mean if he won the past three championships then he could have had a spat with lynn jarvis. And it's not gonna change anything. He's coming back next week. He's getting on the bike and he's going to go out there and try to win because he knows he can win so no matter what. His top priority is as far as outward. Appearances performance is going to be super high on the list to and a lack of it is going to increase his frustration level. And it doesn't matter where he goes any new team. It's going to be tough for him at first and not. Just if he's going to aprilia or if he's going to a satellite team he could be going straight to honda. Where marquez is dominated in one zillion championships and it could still be tough. I just ask who. He'll lorenzo asked police boggle about that and it might take a while before he gets to the level where he wants to be especially with an incomer or developing organization like apprecia-. And you know it's possible that if he doesn't have the patience for that and performance was really the big thing nagging him at yamaha. Well a couple of years are in short order down the line. That another relationship could tailspin as a result. Now i tend to think that the feeling of being wanted to being the number one rider. I tend to think that is his main concern right now. But how long before. Performance is gonna take center stage if he's not competing for championships if he's not competing for wins or maybe even not competing for podiums and with that in mind. I think that dj over them read it some that very very well mavericks whole emotional mental state going through this time. I am one sentence which cracked me up by the way he said quote whatever. The future holds for maverick. I'm sure it will be maverick in nature and it really feels that way doesn't it. I mean maverick is rapidly becoming the new. Hey lorenzo where. His own unique brand of controversy seems to follow him around wherever he goes. And you know i think. The dj was referring just as much to his approach to his team and racing. Which pretty much boils down to an excellent plan and execution in practice and qualifying and then when that works really well he then try to translate that directly to the race without really accounting for or adjusting to any of the variables. That might come up if i said what you were really thinking. They're dj and if that really is the case that wherever he goes. It's gonna be very maverick in nature. Then not a parent that that approach to racing is going to change simply because the color is on his leathers are different. And i think that's what. Dj's point pretty much was and tom was on the same page over on facebook. Thinking that mavericks best move isn't necessarily to another team but maybe to sports psychologist to maybe get out of his own way a little bit..

"Came the omaha thinking he was going to be the number one if not right away then very quickly and that didn't happen and i'm sure he kind of felt like that promise was taken away from him. And instead he had to live in the continuing. Shadow valentino rossi. But he wasn't the only one that was kind of in a state of confusion about this whole thing. I would maintain that yamaha was just as confused as well and they were sending mixed signals at various times giving mavericks opinions more weight and at other times rossi's and at one point a few years back they said. Hey we're going to develop each bike completely separately completely independently and we soon discovered that growing frustration off the track for venezuela's was affecting mavericks performance on the track. That intern created more doubt on yamaha side. And even more frustration on maverick side which he was all too eager to vocalized by offloading. The issues onto the bike and the engineering team and yamaha messed up again there as well because they really gave legs to that they bolstered that idea that the writers should blame it on the bike with that. Incredibly awkward apology thing in two thousand eighteen. Which just encouraged that level of dissatisfaction. Even rossi started to express it more after that and that just bread more inconsistent performance. Out of maverick and it was just a vicious cycle and that kind of kept spiraling on and off all the way until the season. Now we get to this season. Maverick has signed a two year. Deal to stay on with the omaha. Because valentine rossi was moving on. He was stepping aside in on top of that. The two thousand nineteen bike wasn't as bad as seventeen eighteen remember. Maverick signed his contract for this year before the twenty twenty season even started so he wasn't quite sure what kind of bike yamaha was going to hand him so despite those concerns overpass performance. I figure he was far more focused on the idea that the two thousand nineteen bike was moving them in the right direction and more importantly he was finally going to be the clear number. One fabio quattro was still young and he struggled at the end of twenty twenty himself so it was his team. It was mavericks team. But then we get to this year and fabio happened and he didn't just happen but the situation turned out way. Worse for maverick fan jalis. Because unlike rossi who may have been getting favoritism despite the fact that he wasn't performing all that well. Fabio has flipped the script entirely. He's gone out there and not only performed far. Better than valentino. Rossi did but he's also outpaced maverick. By a mile as well and vigna is results have continued to berry just like they always have so. Fabio is quickly grabbing control of the team. A lot of people myself included would say he already has grabbed control of the team and has proven that the bike. Ken be consistently quick. And in the meantime mavericks results are as inconsistent as they ever had so realization. Set in pretty sure. That maverick not wanting to break down his own confidence. Further then down on the idea that yamaha simply didn't care to fix his bike. They didn't care about him which is admittedly a tough argument when his teammate has been fast enough the podium every single race this year he's had weird stuff happened but he's been consistently fast enough to get on the podium had he made it to the end of all the races but in mavericks mind. It has to be the team because it can't be him. I mean from mavericks perspective. Think about it look. Ktm look at look at suzuki. They've all made such great progress since two thousand seventeen. They've saw so many problems and they've had so much more success than they had in the past that when you look at yamaha and comparison it has to be that yamahas simply isn't trying hard enough right. Well yeah on the surface. It can look that way but those comparisons can be very deceptive because yes and have made huge strides but they also had a lot of ground to make up over the past few seasons. Those guys have developed their bikes enough to the point where they've gained seconds on their pace from a few years ago but they started off seconds behind. So you look at that progress and you know you look at yamaha and it looks like they really haven't done anything. I mean casey. I'm has gained seconds. They're winning races now. Apprecia- has gone from you know seconds behind to a couple of tents behind. And what is the omaha done. They've continued to have up and down performance. But you have to remember that yamaha's searching for the final few tents to get them from podium contention to championship contention. They're not looking for seconds. And that's a lot harder to make up those couple of tents just ask apprecia- how much harder it is to get those last couple of tents as it was to get those seconds that they've gained over the last two years and now i'm certainly not saying that yamaha is blameless here that they've been trying extra hard and it's just you know we don't perceive it because they're trying to gain so little. The problems have been consistent. That's for certain. The only thing i'm saying is that their issues are a bit harder to solve than you know the things that ktm and aprilia and suzuki before that we're going to especially right now not being able to revise their engine because obviously that could be a huge help for them right now but they're painted into a corner. There's nothing they can do about it. I'm also want to say that wanting to offload the blame and the frustration onto the manufacturer onto the team. That isn't just a maverick vigna thing. And those of you who've been watching for a long time or even a short time probably don't need me to tell you that all moto. Gp riders have big egos. So they're not going to be too eager to point the finger at themselves because whether it's true or not it's just not a productive thing for them mentally to emit that they're the ones that aren't quite getting it so you take all of them put it together and by the way that is unfortunately the short version and the situation is in the good one normally. Both rider and team would swallow their words at this point. Wait things out to the end of the contract but the precedent that was set by guys like cal. Crutch. low and sam lows in the past and then reinforced more recently was johann zarco and lorenzo. The prevailing opinion is now become. Hey you don't like each other tear up the contract and move on but that of course then begs the question. Is this the right. Move for maverick vandalism and the answer here is well. Yes in no it. Just kinda depends. My opinion is in the end if it really wasn't working out between the two and they both agreed upon that then there are other writers out there for yamaha. There other bikes out there for venezuela's ultimately works out best for everyone. If they're working with the people in the equipment that they feel most comfortable with rather than suffering through one another if that is indeed what things have come to. But there's more to it than that because while yes everything works out better if everyone's getting along that's not the goal of modo. Gp especially for someone like maverick than y'all and the level of talent and potential he has. The goal is to win races is to win championships and is to have a successful career and the best way to do that is to be on the best. Bikes maverick is now going to be leaving one of the best bikes in the garage. Because say what you will about yamaha struggles over the past few years. Maverick certainly has. And he's not the only one..

"The website at mode week dot net. All right here. We go the rundown just about everything. We're going to talk about on this episode of the show. I said it was going to be all about maverick in the omaha thing. But there's actually one other thing you guys answered a couple of my questions about ass and weekend. I'll give you the answers incorrect. Something that said on the post show then. We will talk about the bombshell. Although it's not really a totally unexpected bombshell but still. Huge news maverick. Daniela's leaving yamaha at the end of twenty twenty one. We'll talk about health. Things got to this point. Whether maverick is making the right decision where he's going to go next and who's going to replace him with a cameo discussion of valentina rossi and how this might affect his plans for twenty twenty two and throughout the entire conversation. We're going to talk about some of your comments that you made on facebook and read about all of this yamaha drama but before we get to that. There were two things from sm weekend that you guys correct me on them. Really correct me. I just wasn't exactly sure what the answers were. And you sent me straight on the fabio celebration after his win in asan with his terrible terrible attempt to hit a golf ball with a driver although it hey did create some cool sparks and be in his defense. He wasn't full on leathers and helmet but it turns out. The entire thing was goof on a friend of his that he posted from the driving range earlier in the week repeatedly missing the ball and so he was doing the same thing. And i didn't know about that. Plus it was his fourth win. So you know for if you're playing golf and apparently that's fabio's new thing right about now So thanks to soggy. Wombat on reddit em robin over on facebook for that one. I was clearly not in a golf frame of mind when i did the post ratio on sunday and then when it comes to maverick then y'all as and the settings that he was using last week because going into the weekend he said he was going to use nothing. But fabio quattro rose settings. And that's it. It's always kind of wondering afterwards. Who's setting see finished. Second with his own or with fabio's on amd both nuno on facebook and alpha octane. On it set me straight on that one of mavericks. Two bikes one started the weekend. Set up with his own settings. The other one set up with fabio settings ended up choosing his own as his preferred bike. And that's the one he used to set the lap record in qualifying and also the one. He used the finish second in the race so that either makes the situation even more perplexing that he was actually using the same settings that he had on the bike when he finished dead last in germany the week before that or confirms how sensitive either maverick himself or the m one is to grip levels at the track because as an is a bit grippier quite a bit grippier than the saxon ring is at least with his setup in the way that he's writing it seems to be very sensitive to the grip levels but that does bring us to the main topic of discussion for today's show and the bombshell of twenty twenty one four shore. It is official maverick. Daniela's is done with the omaha at the end of the twenty twenty one season and that was really quick. Wasn't it just two days. After the rumors started circulating around the paddock and one day after looking like someone pissed in his cornflakes standing on the podium yamaha confirmed that at the request of maverick than y'all as they have cancelled the final season of his two year contract. Meaning that mave is officially a free agent for the twenty twenty two season and it also means that yamaha is officially looking for another factory rider for next year. Now obviously this leads to a ton of questions. And i'm sure i'll miss at least a few of them here so let me know what we still need to talk about after the show on facebook and read it. But let's start briefly at the beginning of mavericks relationship with yamaha. And i think that setting that back story will be helpful to those who may have only started watching mo- jp in the past couple of years and maybe don't know how everything started. We won't go back to suzuki. We'll just start with yamaha because we've talked the past couple of weeks about this whole debacle starting with saxon ring but it definitely goes back beyond that and i'm going to attempt here to look at things a little bit from both sides from maverick side and from yamaha side up at the short version of the story. And i'm going to try to keep it short. When maverick signed on to come over to yamaha in two thousand seventeen from suzuki a bike that he had won their first race since their return on and clearly looked like a promising championship contender of the future. The idea behind yamaha signing him was that he was going to be the next major superstar. The next great yamaha contender. And the one that would ultimately receive the torch of yamaha's future from valentino rossi. And things really started out that way he looked great in preseason testing and even better when the two thousand seventeen season got underway when he got on the bike and won his first two races on the m one and everyone. I'm sure including maverick. Daniela's thought that everything predicted would come. True yamaha finally had their contender there challenger for marc marquez. That was going to break. That dominance and bring yamaha back to the top but just as quickly as it started there were stumbles. The yamaha having intermittent issues with rear grip. with top speed. And that's something that both factory. Riders agreed upon the thing. here though. Is that valentino. Rossi seemed to handle those issues a bit. More consistently than maverick did and then when the doctor one in essen later on that season which turned out to be yamaha's final victory of two thousand seventeen. Well it kind of felt the rest of the year like the two riders were more or less equals than. You know maverick fan. Y'all is was here to storm to the championship. Take the crown and the number one. Slot away from valentino rossi and then when rossi got off to a slightly stronger. Start the maverick david in two thousand eighteen. It really reinforced the idea. That valentino was handling the issues better and as a result the needle of influence that we thought was going to start swinging firmly tour. Maverick than y'all as after his first few races had gone all the way. Back towards rossi. Now there are definitely arguments. About how everything i just said went down and how much yamaha was giving preference to rossi over venezuela's but i think that the point here is that when the knowle's came on board the whole idea was that he was going to be. The one that team was ultimately built around the valentina rossi was getting old he was getting ready to retire. He was going to pass the crown along. And the team was gonna be about maverick. But when the performance issue started right away and rossi seemed to be dealing with those issues. Better the maverick. It really threw everything into turmoil. And yes the sphere of influence did shift back firmly. Valentine rossi and i think for two reasons number one because maverick wasn't performing like marquez. Was at the time and number two yamaha was uncertain. There was this new rider and they weren't quite sure whether they were the problem whether the writer was the problem. And so you go back to what safe. And what's safe is valentina rossi. Because he's the guy who had been there he's the guy with the experience with all of the winds and the records and the championships so yamaha looked to him more for ideas not just on setup more importantly on how the battle through the struggles that they were having with the michelin tyre which was problematic from the instant they put it on that bike so the takeaway here is the mavericks in..

"Much for listening to the only moto g. gp show on the internet. That saw the maverick daniela's thing coming. Just not quite this soon. You know at throw it out. Gp showing. the internet is surprised at exactly how fast this happened. I mean yes. There were the rumors that started over the weekend and vanilla clearly dissatisfied even with his ass and podium is so it seemed like an announcement. But who knew that it was gonna come just one day after the dutch t t maverick will be officially done with yamaha at the end of the twenty twenty one season and on this episode of the show. "Is a do county so yup. There's aero there are winglets involved zhijie. Delina would be proud of you for that. Move by the way. Cool leathers too and i bet. The exhaust sounds great on that when we didn't get to see the exhaust but you mentioned what's on it on and if you want to post a video man go for i and speaking of modding it turns out that our good friend chip are fifty-one. The who has been with the show forever is doing more than just strapping on some cool new electronics to his rc. Fifty one and holy crap. Dude that bodywork looks freaking epic. The varying design looks like you channel truly and a really awesome tribute to nikki. Aiden i cannot wait to see that whole thing come together. I mean it's going to be incredible. You know the rc. Fifty one and i know i've said this before on the show as soon as chip showed up said it one of my favorite bikes ever in stock form so much. So that generally not a fan of aftermarket fairing custom ferrings on them because they got it so right for the time period on those bikes. But that doesn't apply here at all because not only do those ferrings look great and they look like they were painted amazing too but that design looks like it could have been a factory special that came straight out of honda. So it's gonna be over the top like can't wait to see i'm gonna finally dj was cruising around austin fact. He stopped to get a shot of his speed. Triple in front of rodeo austin and it was great because when you posted that photo you said kind of making up my own rumor that there's going to be a race in texas this year. Well i hope you're ready because it ain't or rumor anymore. Racing is coming back to the. Us it's going to be so much fun so excited for it. I hope you are too. The only bad side for me is that i just started this new job and you can't take vacation for like a certain amount of time. I have no clue how. I'm gonna get myself to texas to see this race but i'm going to try to figure it out All right so that does it for pics videos and comments. If i didn't get to yours it's not because i didn't like it It's just mostly in the interest of time and if you just posted in the past couple of hours before i recorded the show i may not have even seen it yet. So keep on posting. And i'll get to years on the next show all right so we just had a race last weekend. The extended summer break is coming up. But we've got one thing happening before that begins right another race round nine of the twenty twenty one world championship. Is this weekend. The dutch t at the legendary asan circuit and it is time to talk about the race. The contenders and who i think is going to win this sunday. But before we get the riders. Let's start by talking about the track. The legendary asan circuit federal is speed actually more accurately the cathedral of speed with one really slow section tossed in that really slow section. Sometimes is the point of contention with longtime fans and with riders for that matter. But i actually like the technical bits added to the first slash second sector. Not only does it. Provide a bit of a stadium section for fans to see a lot of the action and it is a european track after all. You have to have a stadium section but it also provides a bit of balance for the rest of the circuit which is far more focused on while speed. You know mid and high speed corners that are far more about edge grip and throttle control than the first section which is a test of handling and patience and drive out of the corner and in that respect it really does share some characteristics with sachsenring just longer and faster on the back end without the elevation changes but still that idea of a very slow technical section followed by more wide. Open rest of the lab. Now obviously the defining moment of asan is at the very end of each lap that famous chicane the last chance to pass before the start. Finish line and a place where we have seen some very wild finishes in the past. Most recently with valentino rossi and marc marquez are some other great sections of this historic track as well From the less hyped chicane at turns eight nine which typically sees good action throughout the race to the long double apex twelve thirteen section and then my favorite part turn fifteen through seventeen which yes. There's a corner in the middle of that. But it's essentially a dogleg straight that really challenges the bravest riders to hit that apex perfectly and hardly let off the throttle at all and it is a really good follow up. I think asking is to germany expanding on the idea. It's got the technical section. I it doesn't have the big straight instead. It relies on edge. Grip drive off the corner carrying a lot of momentum through the corner and avoiding wheelspin so a lot of different challenges that come into play and because there are some characteristics of their shared between saxon ring and essen. We could see a similar set of riders. Excel here as we did last weekend and so with that. Let's talk about some of the riders starting with the contenders the writers. I think have the best shot to finish top five in this race. Make a play for the podium and they might just be able to win the whole thing and we will start that list of contenders with fabrio. Coiro not a big surprise right. Fabrio wasn't able to keep up with marc marquez. Miguel olivera last weekend. That saxon ring but as an is a little bit more wide open with some of the bigger speed corners being kind of reminiscent of guitar both terms of lack of elevation change and carrying speed through the centre.

CEO, of Ev West. A company that builds and Converts Electric Cars down. In San, Diego area they have done some really cool streetcars. They've done some really cool race cars. They've raised pikes peak and pretty soon, they are going to Bonneville with their newest project. So here to talk about it on the zoom the CEO of e West Michael Bream. On small tar podcast. I've already done it. I've done it in the in the on awkwardness my own home. How are Ya antastic? You'd see. Yeah. What's I mean you know Since we last talked there's been quite a lot of development in the world of Evil Hot Rod. You can buy E v Crate Motors. Now I mean you know what a world right? I mean, it comes in a crate or why don't you tell me if you bought one of these things I mean GM brought that that electric crate And I took some kind of interest in it didn't you? Yeah, we did. We actually have easy west parts in there and cooled I. Think you know the reality is, is they try to make off in sound simple and Bolton but it's it's quite difficult and a lot of these guys are kind of in the space to get attention Yamaha motors recently of did something like that they're putting out a crate motor and we called Yamaha and they're like, no, it's not. It's really. Out there. Actually openly admitted like. Fishing there we just threatened the pond. This is such bullshit because you know often I, hear from people who want me to comment on the fact that. The new cafe standards are impossible to it's like, do you know how easy it is to say that we're going to go full ev by twenty thirty and then roll that Shit back in twenty twenty five when no one even remembers and your long. In Our news. Cycle. Say Anything and the news cycle is so short that by the time you walk it back later once it's clearly impossible just nobody gives a shit. The Craig's is GonNa Have Bluetooth work on blockchain. Put bitcoin right that yeah, it's it's interesting Matt I was just thinking about that the other day like if somebody could do like a best hits real and just go back through like GM announcements and I mean I feel like we've been told like three or four times from every automaker, they're having an electric truck or this out of the other thing and here it is twenty, twenty and Where are they right? Well, A-. Onto, something right isn't it we're really is a reinvite we're gonNA see Arena I mean that's a good point. You cannot buy not buy it and they don't have a fan I love Ribian. Let me tell you I love her the and I think got the best shot of anyone but they don't even have a factory built yet. Do you think they have a better shot of building a truck than than Tesla does? Want to die. Early And then into politics. Ev Crate Motors but it's important. To note the building an electric truck or a heavy duty vehicles, extremely difficult and extremely expensive, and so This isn't a model three or a key Niro or whatever they're trying market. They're trying to bring up a full size truck and compete with you know the Ford F, one, fifty, soul Arado, etc. that is You know no small task of the and again we're talking about essentially start up companies to this date haven't produced anything and I think Riviera's far far far ahead of everyone but you look at companies like Nikola and some of the other companies that are essentially trying to get her capital off of computer enters
