"What's behind a true real life fishing exploit. So, okay, and just to give you a hint, scammers will use in browser chat to initiate a remote desktop session on a victim's device, approve their own device as valid to access the user's account, then drain the cryptocurrency from their wallet or wallets. So, okay, here are the details behind this. When pia XM's threat research team first started tracking the group. They were only targeting coinbase coinbase, right? Like the premier exchange. Then over the past month, the group has increased their coverage as the bad guys have increased their coverage to add support. If you call it that for meta mask, crypto dot com and KuCoin as kuei in in addition to coinbase. So now for the spoofed domains are the typical, slightly misspelled, in this case, subdomains of Azure websites dot net. So that's the hub of where they are. And so it'll be like con base dot Azure websites dot com or .NET or something like that. The group employs working effective second factor relay interception when a user is spoofed into going to a lookalike site. Regardless of the credentials the user enters, whether they're legitimate or not, since the spoofing site can not determine that initially, the user will be moved to a two step verification page after clicking login, where, depending upon the platform in question, they'll get what they're expecting, which is either prompted for a second factor code or their phone number is prompted and use then to receive a two factor code. The criminal group will first attempt to relay the credentials they've been given and second factor codes to the legitimate login portal, which is associated with a platform they're spoofing. Once the user clicks verify, they will be presented with a message no matter what happens. Telling them an authorized activity has occurred on their account. Well, it turns out it's true, actually, but this is the bad guys trying to reel them in further. As with the original coinbase attack, this group, which this group started with, this will initiate a chat window to keep the user on the phishing page in the event, the two factor code should fail, which of course the bad guys don't know yet, because they'll get they'll get prompted for that after they attempt to log in. And the threat actor needs to start and should the threat actor need to start a remote desktop session with the victim to continue with this attack. Pia XM wrote that in their experience, regardless of whether the victim enters legitimate credentials or not, the group will chat with the victim to keep them in contact. Should they need to resend the code or proceed to the second phase of the attack. The criminal gangs willingness to do this significantly increases I'm sad to say, end user engagement.

"Bloomberg 99 one to Boston, Bloomberg one O 6 one, this in Francisco, Bloomberg 9 16 to the country, Syria's XM channel one 19, and around the globe, the Bloomberg business act in Bloomberg radio dot com. This is Bloomberg markets. All right, coming up in this half hour. We're going to check in with Matt stuck. He's senior portfolio manager at Northwestern Mutual get his thoughts on these markets. Then we're going to talk to Oscar cost party managing partner at McKinsey in North America. He joins the show to discuss his new book, the titanium economy. I'm also talking about just industrial America's supply chain, all that good stuff because we had some good caterpillar numbers today. But first, let's go to John Tucker and get a Bloomberg business job. Yeah, that was the good. Here's the bad meta platforms fall. Most active right now down 21%. That's actually an improvement. But stocks are to some degree shrugging off the big tech earnings misses and certainly don't count out the American consumer that could be a theme today. Mastercard seeing quarterly purchase volume, jumping 15%, and we're more than happy to pay more for our Big Macs, McDonald's shares handily beating the expectations, and rising prices, a GDP data that held some encouraging signs as well. Let's get more on that front from Bloomberg's Vinny Dale June ice. Rebounded following a pair of losses in advance in a 2.6% pace during a third quarter. Chalk it up to resilient consumer spending and business investment though inflation and interest rates leave the economy vulnerable, a recession perhaps. Housing is down the weakest performance since the onset of the pandemic. America's labor market is holding up though with weekly jobless claims near historic lows that eat doubt should ice Bloomberg radio. All right, thanks, Benny and S&P 500 right now, 27 points higher. That is up three quarters of a percent, the downshifts of duster leverage, up 546 points. That's up 1.7%. Caterpillar, one of the components there, the NASDAQ 100, it is down just 7 points right now. And we check the markets for you every 15 minutes during the trade. They run here on Bloomberg radio. I'm John Tucker, that is your Bloomberg business flash call. All right, John Tucker, good stuff we appreciate

"Syria's XM channel one 19 and around the globe the Bloomberg business app in Bloomberg radio dot com This is Bloomberg best I'm Ed Baxter And I'm Denise Pellegrini And education of course is key for so many people when it comes to social mobility And that's one of the things we had a chance to hear about from Ken Griffin the billionaire founder of the hedge fund Citadel A Griffin starts here though on Bloomberg wealth with David Rubenstein telling David how Citadel moved some operations to Florida at the start of the pandemic Let's listen in So the early days of COVID were as you and I both know very frightening We were going to see the first pandemic of our lifetime upfront in a very personal way Health of our team came first and foremost in every decision And on the back of that we actually leased the four seasons in Palm Beach Florida in March of 2019 sent hundreds of people there to ride out the first wave of the pandemic And that worked extraordinarily well We created a bubble where people were safe from what was unfolding around them and we could meet the needs of our clients Now many people are moving because of COVID and other reasons to Florida because there's no taxes or lower and so forth Have you ever thought of moving your entire organization of Florida permanently So we take great pride in running our global footprint which means that we will always be in the major cities of the world where talent aggregates Not having said that there's been an incredible pull of talent into Florida over the course of the pandemic And there's a real shift in mindset of youth about being in South Florida in terms of their careers So I think it's reasonable to assume that you'll see Citadel have a much larger footprint in Florida over the years You've been a big supporter of political candidates probably more Republican than democratic candidates who support your views and that's very common in the United States Do you feel you've gotten your money's worth by supporting these candidates Do they listen to you Or they already have the views that you had in your supporting them because they already have those views So I think most importantly I want to support people who stand for personal freedom who believe in limited government who want to protect the American Dream and who care deeply about education In fact one of the first significant fundraisers that was done for president Obama was done in the office of Citadel because president Obama came to me and said I will be the education president And there's nothing more important to me than the education of our youth That's like top of list to me is we provide for our children The opportunities that our parents and that we have had So having said that once people are in office they're going to by and large do what they're going to do And I'm pretty consumed with my day job So when you call somebody you're given a contribution to do they take the call right away Are they just say well I'm too busy You know I don't know if it has to do with contribution as much as it has to do with the thought that we are thoughtful partners So for example in the early days of the pandemic we had a family that was in Wuhan And the United States had arranged for one flight to go to Wuhan to bring Americans out of the city And I had the opportunity with secretary Pompeo to really get to the heart of the matter which is how many Americans are in Wuhan And we ended up working with the Secretary of State in funding 5 or 6 flights that went to Wuhan that brought hundreds of Americans home at the start of the pandemic With a Trump administration we were involved in some of the conceptualization of operation warp speed The importance of the United States supporting vaccine manufacturers and purchasing vaccines of unknown efficacy before they went through the FDA trials all about accelerating time to market And you saw that when the vaccines were finally approved by the FDA we were able to immunize tens of millions of Americans in the blink of an eye in retrospect And that has to go back to the origin of operation warp speed So having those contacts in Washington can be very important in certain points in time So one of my partners Glenn youngkin I was with our firm for many years He ran for governor of Virginia and was elected And I wonder whether you have ever thought about running for office yourself So I'm really excited that Glenn is governor of Virginia because he cares about issues that are really important to me For example education and public safety And I really hope that Glenn will be a leader who will lead from the middle who will take the state to a better place and will be a road map for success in America I really wish the new governor great success in his new role Personally I love my work I have three young children I'm not interested in pursuing a career in politics at this moment in time That was Ken Griffin founder of the hedge fund Citadel on Bloomberg wealth with David Rubenstein.

"I preface the show last time with referring to this song by 24 K golden, and if you don't know how to spell gold, then. I've been spelling it wrong all these years, apparently. And that features E and D or pretty good song. I like it. It's called mood. And like many tunes that, you know, there's always been this radio version that you like. And then you hear the explicit version, totally different, right? I mean, you love the song. You've been singing it to yourself. Maybe your kids are hip too. They're singing it with you in the car. You switch it to XM radio and suddenly the kids are bouncing to a different tune and you're panicking. You're like, oh my gosh, right? Well, I brought that up really just to preface this. This is gonna be about mood and not so deep in the mood as much as ethanol has flagged and disrupted the production and functionality of your neurotransmitters, especially dopamine and serotonin, but today we're going to focus on dopamine. So dopamine has been getting a lot of attention lately both in the recovery community and about the population at large with the chatter covering and concerning, mainly dopamine addiction. They're concerned about the kids because we get a lot of dopamine hits throughout the day. I mean, from our smartphone, we get all these checks every day, all these occasions. Man, I just have turned most of my notifications off because it's crazy. You know, social media Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, whatever you want. Other stimulants that we have throughout the day, you know, we're just getting bombarded every day with dopamine hits, and you have to admit those are without any chemical triggers. So there's no ethanol involved with all that dopamine, right? So we're already getting this large amount of dopamine into the receptors. So when you drink ethanol, so in addition to that, you're going to get this chemical that excites the dopamine receptors. I mean, so much so that they sort of explode, right? The firing rate into this neurotransmitter is just too much too soon. This is a good thing, right? More dopamine. Now I'm motivated. I'm lit up and I'm motivated. I can take on the world, but you got to admit that the things you're motivated to do and say while you're on ethanol are generally unproductive, generally. When you're buzzed, nothing ever good comes out of that. And life after the ethanol, say you're in recovery, the overstimulation, it's dull and boring, and the regular things that once gave you those dopamine hits. They really don't do it anymore. You're simply not motivated or driven toward anything in a longer ethanol has overloaded these dopamine receptors and basically you blew a fuse. You need to get reset. The breakers tripped and you need to get really unbroken. So I have three beautiful conquer spaniels. And I've really done a job on them. I've over treated them. Meaning, I love to give these gas treats. I mean, in fact, I think I get a dopamine release just upon the idea of giving them treats and going to the treat jar to open it up because when they hear it, they'll run to it. So I get this reward from seeing them so playful and happy, you know, just when I say treat, right? And they hear this and they jump on me, they run around in circles, and they'll do anything else I sit, stand lay. So I get my own release from that, but they're so excited.

"So this project public radio remix is a project that they had a little bit of money to sort of create a stream online of a lot of this content that was up on PRX dot org and maybe some other material like podcasts or various music and stuff. And so they had asked me to put that together as an online stream. And so it's just this 24 hour format list format of what you'd think of as the format of a music station, just song after song with a little bit of interruption with a DJ. But instead of songs, it's stories. It's public radio stories from the past and from sort of new voices and then some podcasts and then sort of random sounds and found tape that I find interesting and very stuff like that. So it's just 24 hour stream. And it grew from being an online thing to being offered on XM radio, so it's on XM one, two, three, and it's now offered to terrestrial public radio stations. So they'll play it either 24 hours a day on some of their extra channels or overnight. And it's just this, it's really kind of a free for all. It's a chaos that I think a beautiful chaos of stories. Yeah, it seems like you really are attracted to chaos and breaking format. Oh, totally. I think it's the way that people use radio. To me, it's like, I'm really into the intentionality of what you create. And so a podcast or radio show is one thing. A radio stream is something completely different. A stream is about stepping in and sampling and having it move on. And if you don't like it, just wait for the next thing or turn it off and jump in somewhere else. It doesn't have to start at the top of the hour. It doesn't have to be forced into this magazine style format of an all things considered or morning edition. I just don't think that's the way that streams are most effective. And so the whole idea of this is that you do not know what's coming next. And it's about surprise. And presenting radio stories in a different way. I think that in many ways you just described 99% invisible in terms of the variety of subjects that you talk about, you've talked about the hydrox key versus the Oreo. You've talked about escalators. You've talked about bathtubs. You've talked about changing lanes without vision. There's so much eclectic magic in your show. How do you come up with the ideas about what you want to cover? Oh, the ideas are so easy. Because they're everywhere. And if you're just sort of attuned to having some idea of like, oh, wonder why that is the way it is. You can usually find something. I feel like the world is full of the ideas. I mean, that's why when the show when it was presented to me as this idea of doing an architecture show and I wanted to make it more broadly at design show, I just felt like I could do it forever. And I'm a really project or the other part of being an independent producer the way I was was I would work on a show for a few weeks or a year. And I leave because that's what I did. I just started a new shows and I would take off. But when I saw this project, I thought, I could keep doing this because I could apply that lens to almost anything. And that is why I can keep doing it. The last question I want to ask you is actually a series of questions that you asked on a recent show. And part of the reason I want to ask you these questions is because I want to know the answer. And part of the reason is because I think that the writing is just beautiful. It's so beautiful. It's poetry. So I want to read some of your own writing to you and ask you also to answer these questions. And so on a recent show you asked, what would you redesign completely? Would everything simply evolve back to the way it is now? Would U.S. currency still be inexplicably uniform in color and size? Would we get rid of cars if we started over? My guess is even the poorly designed and inefficient objects would make a comeback. Because it just might be your dining room table, your crappy, wobbly, I swear, honey, I'll fix it soon. I promise it might be that dining room table that makes you happy. So Roman, I think that's just gorgeous. It's everything design is supposed to do, but I want to also ask you to answer, do you think everything would simply evolve back to the way it is now? No, it's great about asking those questions is I don't have to answer them. But I want you to answer them now on my show. Sorry. One of the secrets to this show is that I think it works because I don't have to come down to a definitive answer to those subjects. But I'll do my best. I think that if you rewound the tape and played it again, it wouldn't play out exactly the same. But I do believe that the impulse of what is good design for some people and good design for other people would come at loggerheads and they don't always conform. I did this piece about the cul de sac, the hallmark of suburbia. Yes. And the point of the piece to me was that yes, demonstrably, it is horrible design. It's bad for space. It is bad for connecting people and grids and it's inefficient and it costs municipalities money. But the people that want to live there are not looking for that. They're looking for a place where their kids can run out on the street and not get hit by a car. And they're not idiots for wanting the and so they will always be different impulses where somebody is just keen into a different aspect of the design of the world that is important to them a different time. So there's something about the way that when you read about massive change, for example, the brief smile book or something, you read it and you just go, man, we got these problems solved. We just have to give it to the right people, like there could be a monorail everywhere and there could be great public transportation and there could be systems in place. We have to recognize that a really nicely designed world yields a lot of your independence and you have to trust the designer to be there with you and to have your interests and to let go of some of the things that are important to you. Like your car, for example. And if the designers of the world are smart and they mean well, and I think they do, that can work out really well. But if designers in the world interact with the bureaucracies of the world and the greed of the world and the inefficiencies of the world, something that it's designed for one purpose breaks down in another scenario. So there will always be these things that run against each other. So in that sense, it would be very similar. Like if you rewind the tape and played it again, I think that the world will look very similar with its inefficiencies and bad design. But I don't think it would be exactly the.

Running more than their plan was going into. This season could be good on the field but obviously opens you up to more hits. Put you more harms way. So a lot of questions to be at least explored to now. Won't they answered is only week one right. You can't answer too many questions that we won but certainly a lot of injury in this rap. Yeah i just don't know how to read this. The ravens have been unbelievable on opening night. The last three years winning by thirty or more points in their opener. Howard Stern to Anti-Vaxxers: ‘You Had the Cure and You Wouldn’t Take It'

"Howard stern's about howard stern and that's about it and so if it if it suits him it's for him and obviously liberty isn't for him because here's what he had to say most recently this apparently was on if it was today or yesterday very very recently. The story was printed yesterday over at the hill dot com radio host howard stern blasted opponents of the cove in nineteen vaccine on tuesday stating that quote nut. Jobs are trampling on his quote freedom to live so his freedom is under attack by people like us somehow the fact that we don't want to put some sort of foreign substance into our veins is restricting howard stern's freedom he said to his listeners on his sirius. Xm program quote. When are we going to stop putting up with idiots in this country and just say it's mandatory to get vaccinated. That's so libertarian. of him. Right this is not an uncommon viewpoint by the way there have been. It's not just stern. It's other people in like newspaper editorial sections who've been calling for mandatory vaccination all the propaganda he says. I remember when i went to school. You had to get a measles vaccine. You had to get a mumps vaccine. He said and there are indeed requirements for kids to get vaccines to go to government school. That is true and that's part of what they're building all of this off like. Oh well we already had these vaccine requirements was just another one.

"XM Channel 80. Courtney Cronin. He's Myron Medcalf. We're talking NFL simulations for the 2021 season now. The number one overall pick, according according to this article, is going to the Carolina Panthers. And that would lead you to believe that everything fell apart with Sam Donald in the experiment that they tried to enact there in Charlotte by trading for him, giving him the fresh start that he is so badly needed. And a if they're getting the number one pick. That means that Donald probably out of the league or at least not starting for anybody next season. And just how badly this will have failed in the first couple of years of Matt rule That would lead me to wonder. Is this a coach that Has tried too hard to make the college stick work in the NFL. And is this somebody who would eventually end up when this team does get the number one pick, trying to hightail it out of there and go back to college somewhere? It wouldn't be surprising, right? His his predecessors did that same thing when they went to the next level and realized that it wasn't going to work out. It was a different culture. It was a different environment, so I think certainly there could always be that threat format rule, especially if a good college job opens up. I think this simulation also says that Christian McCaffrey coming back wasn't enough to help them overcome some of their flaws as well, because you still needed Sam Donald to step up, which is what he couldn't do in New York. Obviously the culture was a lot different under Adam Gaze. You thought the fresh start might be difference. And if that's not the case, then where does Sam Donna go from there? But I'm with you. This could be a turning point, both for Sam, Donald and Matt rule. If things work out the way the computers say they might And his computer says that Donald will beat his old team the New York Jets in week one and then go on to earn wins against the Saints, Texans and Eagles. They've been lost to the Cowboys did start out foreign one. Um, But those opponents clearly are not that difficult. And so that four and one record will eventually look back as a mirage. But again, a projection a simulation. There's 285 of them that these computers went through a really good article that we're going to discuss at other points throughout the next 4.5 hours here on ESPN Radio in the ESPN app, But coming up next Jeff Passan, our good friend here to talk about the major league baseball postseason picture. That's next here on ESPN Radio in the ESPN app. Yeah. Where's Jay Williams? Hope you're enjoying your Labor Day weekend when it's all over. Catch our new show, Keyshawn J. "Telephone all the stuff so then you will see what you have to pay and what you need to still. What is your room for flexibility. And there you can see based on your study where you can maybe reduce or change or make better choices so i think it all already starts there so it's quite a lot of work already if you've never done it before but it's essential. I think those are such great tips. I think about that question when it came in. I sorta laughed. And then i remembered how many times i've looked at my own statements and saw you know. How did i spend this much money. And you're right that those so small expenses you know working in a credit union. We see that so. Many people are spending thousands of dollars on fast food that they don't realize because it seems like such a small expense at the time. But if you're doing it every single day or not really being conscious of it adds up and the same thing goes with recurring expenses. I remember back in november. I decided to really take a look at those. Because i was finding that so many of those expenses. They may seem cheap five dollars a month ten dollars a month or yeah yeah and a lot of times they hook you with maybe an introductory rate and so my sirius. Xm radio that. I'm not even using. Because i'm not driving to work anymore. That's something that. I was spending a lot of money on that added up. It didn't seem like a lot but over the course of a year of you multiply by twelve th. That could be something that i'd really want or it could be savings or it could be an investment exactly so i think budgeting is a really good start. What are some other tips. You have for listeners to improve their financial wellness. Okay so these are maybe basic so if you listen to personal finance guys or you read you read blogs okay this will not be unfamiliar. What i feel is also important. And i don't see it a lot. It's learning to negotiate and learning to enjoy what you spend your money on so these are two things. Maybe they want to to share. Because i don't hear them a lot so learning to negotiate a. It's really good because you can look as much as you want sometimes on the websites for comparing prices but sometimes the skill to learn to negotiate to ask for this count to really negotiate your salary. These are really big winds. We things that will save you a lot of time and the sometimes You know sometimes. It's the matter of a phone call to change electricity bill provider. Sometimes an i. I've done it myself. You're in a shop and you want to buy a new jacket and then you just ask gently. Oh is it on sale or ernie sales coming up and sometimes they will tell you not always but well there's no sale on it but issue by today maybe you get ten percent off so that's still ten percent of of something you want to buy or you need anyway and yo- sometimes it's very simple. Sometimes we get knows you get more nos than yeses but it's to build that You know to build that skill to to a hit. The walls But grow out of your comfort zone and ask for discounts and ask for. Hey i'm buying the suit or buying three shirts in the store. Is there and something that you can give me a free belt..

"XM Channel 80. I'm Greg Scalzo, along with Emmett Golden. All guests appear via the Good Year Hotline and Emmett There's a few players out there that are already in the trade machine. For many NBA fans, Let's start with Damian Lillard. Who reportedly wants out of Portland. The Blazer star, I think is the one guy that, like every fan base at this point is convincing themselves. Oh, yeah, we could get Dan. Why don't we just trade ex player and a couple first here and we can bring Dame back? What is your favorite potential trade involving day? Oh, man. I mean, that's a That's a great question. Would they do this? Think about this? I'm just throwing this out there. Would you go Dane for Kawai? Don't know if Kawai wants to live in Philadelphia after working so hard to get to Los Angeles, But well, that would be in Portland. They You know what I'm saying? So I don't know if he is in the Portland either. You know of quads into Portland. Yeah. Yeah, Yeah. I mean, I guess if I'm if I'm the Clippers, I probably say no to that, to be honest with you all right? Um, I I think Hawaii has proven that he can be that number one guy that leads you to an NBA championship and dame will have not Probably had the team to be able to do that hasn't I would still lead Kawai over Dame Si. I think they're the same caliber of player. I understand. They have different types of games. But I mean, there are two of the best players in the NBA, and I mean, like, there's no arguing that at all. Um so again, you got to make salaries work and you want to get something in return, And I don't know how happy Kawai is, after seeing what the Clippers did without him, so maybe it changes scenery might help him. Well and cool. Why is an interesting one? Because I think as the Clippers were down to about early on in the first round of the NBA playoffs, many people were taking a look and say, Wow, quite can opt out after this year. Really? Nobody knows if Quad is happy or unhappy, right? Like we know as little about quiet is probably any major professional athlete in sports, right? Um, but I think there was a lot of rumors out there. Well, maybe can Pat Riley make a run at him and bring him the heat. At this point. Why? Knowing he wants to be in Southern California watching his team, you know, go to six games without him in the Western Conference finals. I can't imagine he is going to opt out of that deal to try to lead him somewhere else. So I feel like quiet. Stay in Pat. I think whether it's the most smoke where there seems to be the most believed that there is fire is Ben Simmons right with the 70 Sixers. Now, Emmet If you're the 70 Sixers, you probably have to acknowledge that like if you trade or if you trade Penn Symons, your trading him at his low, right? Like I don't know. I don't know if you can get Ben Simmons, get what you want for Ben Simmons after this postseason, Given what you probably could have gotten for him at the mid season, you add his lowest from a playing stand. Port point. Excuse me and at his highest from a money standpoint, you know, like he's got a lot of money left. I think it's around 140 some million left on their contract. So not only as he had, you know, his worst stretch of his career here in the playoffs. He's also do a whole lot of money. Now I like Ben Simmons is he definitely has talent. My biggest concern about him If I was a team contemplating on whether I would want to trade for him or not, is he Chuck Knobloch? Right. You remember Chuck Knobloch, remember chucking out like, Well, the really good second basement, right is really good. He got to New York couldn't throw the ball to first from second. You know, I'm second couldn't throw you can pay first. Yes, And I I worry about that with Ben Simmons because it's obvious he's been on the all defensive team the past couple years. He was rookie of the year like we know that he can play, but once it leaves you between the ears Then it's gone forever. So that's my biggest concern with Ben is, Will he be able to overcome what happened in the playoffs or really be Chuck Knobloch? He's in the Golden. I'm Greg scowls of this prime time on ESPN radio presents it. By progressive insurance and I get what you're saying right? Like I totally do. And I think it's why it benefits both Simmons and the Sixers to part ways. What about this? Let me throw one at you. All right. The Boston Celtics trade Jalen Brown for bent since Brown is an All Star caliber player, he's young him and Tatum. Have not been able to necessarily work well together to in terms of winning basketball games. The Celtics probably sell a guy It is high when it comes to Jalen Brown a lot of potential there and they bring in somebody at his low in Ben Simmons, but he doesn't have to be the guy that takes a shot at the end of the game. That's Jayson Tatum. Like, what do you think about that? Yeah, well, I already feel like he's still not a guy that has to take a shot at the end of the game. I think they give the ball to and beat or, you know, or something like that. So I could see it. Definitely if I'm if I'm Philly and I'm like, Yeah. You know what? That sounds good. Greg, Listen, it's just on the horn and let's make this happen. Uh, you know, I'm not Again if he goes there If he was to go to Boston and play his game, I think he would help them. It'll be interesting to see two after, you know them kind of having a coaching change in the front office change and all that. What really happens with Boston, But if they want to make, you know a splash for this, you know this new front office. That might be something That they could do, and I think it would think it would go over better in Philly than it would in Boston. The big prize of this upcoming off season, though, is Damian Lillard, like if he ends up, leaving Portland that is going to be the big prize. Brian Wynne Horsey, ESPN's NBA insider was on Greeny earlier this week, he says, You know what game is the one that has to decide exactly where he is on this? He has not gotten to the point where he said, I want to be traded, and so until he says that I don't think it's going to happen, And I think that's what you know Neil O. Shea is the GM of the Blazers is basically saying Trust me. I'm working as hard as I can here, and I'm going to try to do some stuff in this offseason and I just hired the coach, I think is going to do it. Trust me or not, And so that's where I think game is, and he's got a period of time here to decide which side of the line he's on. Emma called him what side of the line. Do you think he is going to fall on? I don't think he's going anywhere. You know, I think he's going to fall on the side of it because Correct me if I'm wrong. Has any kind of spoken out about guys chasing rings and joining Super Tony? Kevin Durant? So did Kevin. Yeah. I mean, it was Katie, though. You know, I don't know. I just credibility level of things that have been said, you know, no disrespect, KD, but I'll listen today because it seems as though Dame has been living there. You know, at least most of his career, so I'd be surprised if he forced his way out.

Former Producer and Program Director at WJOX, Pat Smith, Reminisces About the Show's Infancy

"Pat is The program director. W j. o. x. and of course he He's part of the global system trouble. I'm as i've assisted. Pd in co host. Because our good friend ryan heins program. I i'm always thinking. I had but i apologize but i'm always trying to to do things that i'm not supposed to be doing but it's really good to have you those days. I wanna i wanna go back. Because i ended up moving to a station where you. I think you were an intern But it wasn't too long after that that that you became a producer on the program. And i'm gonna let you kind of tell the story of how all of that ended up to where we are. Now oh wow Kind of a cliff. Notes version Basically like you said you're at another radio station. I think your contract had had come up and and you had Looked elsewhere and i happened to be at a news. Talk station which the sports talk. Show followed rush limbaugh's program and all the sudden you showed up Along with bob walked me at the radio station on that On that fateful I think it was a friday night after had done a show and then Just so happens. You guys came on the air on monday. I happened to be at the right place at the right time. And i was finishing up school at uab. And and you know you. And i developed a quick relationship and and decided from that point in time to kind of try to take the show to the next level and a few years later were able to get syndicated throughout the state of alabama and then mayor obviously sirius xm and then ultimately espn and where you are today at the sec network so just very blessed to be part of it from day one. I want to go back to that moment. Where we were on the affiliate in we are on the station in birmingham. And and you really started thinking You know bigger picture. I i was. I was at the time doing local television. I was still riding a newspaper on. So i i wasn't that the forward thinking but You thought to show could go beyond that area and what was so interesting about it. Is that once. it did There were a lot of people that that thought. Your idea was was insane. Now you're right You know it's so hard and difficult to tell people about this. Because i remember paul when the fax machine became you know a prevalent thing and offices and i never forget when we started getting stuff backs to us like before you came to the radio station because typically you would either be at the newspaper finishing up a column ridgetop by tv station. Then he committed the radio show and people around the south east would be faxing us newspaper articles because we didn't have internet internet was not invented yet. And so it was fascinating for us to be able to to get information from outside of the state of alabama and so that kind of up some different topics that we could do on the show and the one that started thinking. Well you know what you know. People outside of birmingham. We're on a five. Thousand watt am radio station and more people need to hear this program because we're inundated by voicemails and people you know would communicate with us anyway. They could until it's how much they love the show and more and more of the show and so at the time was able to go to to management and and pitch the idea of potentially getting on a few stations in the state of alabama. And that just kind of steamrolled and for many many years we kept adding stations and at one point we had. I believe in the mid thirties before we got on sirius. Xm so it was just a it was a great time in radio and we were very fortunate to have the people that believed in us. Just like you believed in the idea. So it will. And i'm gonna come back to some of the early stories but but i think for i want you to comment on this. I'll never forget. I was in pasadena We're actually newport together for the rose bowl national championship game between alabama and texas. And because i think a an illness in your family with I think your wife's mother or something you weren't able to make the trip and called me out there and you told me that You had gotten a call from somebody at sirius. Xm and i really. I thought you were kidding Because they wanted to run the show as a regular in an in an afternoon time slot in. And i want you to go back to that moment because there was a buzz around our Our crew at the time. And we you know. We have a fairly big crew now because of television and radio. I don't know if even matches the number of people that you had working with that particular moment in time. Because they were they were producers. They were Exa- they were assistant producer. They're dedicated phone. Screeners that That had their own contracts. But i did but i mean would you would. You agree That was the moment that things really started to change. No there's no question about that. And i'm glad that you wanted me to tell about this out of the story because i thought you were going to publicly remained me again for putting you outside the rose bowl at a outside party music. Play okay No no i was. I got i gotta call the blue Someone that are not you know. Never heard of before and they just said you know we'd love to show We want to talk to you about this show going. And i are you kidding me absolutely and then i remember calling you in pasadena and said you'll never believe this phone call and of course a lot of times like you would whether i'd call you and say hey. We got this coach on today or we got this happening today or whatever the case may be you know you a would you know i can picture you rolling your eyes going. Yeah whatever you know but then it finally sunk in it. You know. Once i told you exactly the full conversation and i think at that point in time you realized that we had we had a bigger entity on our hands than we thought. We did back then

"The with kevin mason. Here's a weird one. I was pondering the other night had to go run an errand so instead of just pulling up spotify or my sirius. Xm or the car radio. I decided to plug in my plex server my old items music library if you will which runs bluetooth can run through my car. I can listen to all of my music collection and an album popped up from the nineteen eighties by one of my favorite bands that i hadn't listened to in years. It wasn't a hit album. It wasn't a big album but the songs came on and i started singing along with them. I couldn't tell you the titles of the songs. But i knew every line every lyric every word so i ask why. We have the ability to sing lyrics to songs that we haven't listened to in forty years. It's amazing those little strange things that just stick in the back of your mind that you can hold onto and you don't understand why it's very strange to me that we can remember those weird to song lyrics or even stranger trivia but can't remember sometimes the important things in life. I know it's not serious and no. I didn't forget valentine's day. Just one of those things i ponder. Can you explain that to me.

An article on ESPN dot com noted that Doyle was placed on administrative leave by Iowa on June 6th after a large group of former players spoke out about mistreatment in the program. Most of the allegations came from black players and focused on Doyle. Chris did not want to be a distraction to what we are building in Jacksonville. We are responsible for all aspects of our program and, in retrospect, should have given greater consideration to how this appointment may have affected all involved. We wish him the best as he moves forward in his career. ESPN Jaguars reporter Mike Derocco tells us here on SportsCenter all night. How Doyle's resignation came about and what the implications could be Christmas resignation following more than a day of backlash and outrage over Jaguars coach Urban Meyer's decision to hire the former strength coach at the University of Iowa. The most scathing criticism came from the Fritz Pollard alliance, which called the higher unacceptable and compared Myers defensive the higher To the quote, good old boy network and quote whether it was a resignation or firing. "Serious XM Channel 80 Way thought we let Some of our sports people. Let you know how they felt about what they saw today. I know Courtney using a lot of stuff on Twitter as well. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, there's starting to see stuff just from, you know, NBA games like I mentioned with the Bucks and the Pistons before tip off. They tipped off the game, and they all took a knee and the sons and the Raptors linking arms at center court, and I mean you're seeing kind of there's a been seen like a Collection of tweets from NFL players around the you know, around the league right now, they've been aggregated kind of into one post and It's kind of echoing why the social justice movements that we saw this summer and I know you know, some people might say they're not related. And this is a you know this talking about the presidential You know an election. This is a fight over an election right now and what we saw this summer. Especially with NFL team, the team that I cover Minnesota Vikings. The murder of George Floyd was right in their backyard and that sparked their team Social Justice movement. They were the first ones to really get active with it. It was the first time that at least in my years Of covering the NFL first time since Colin Kaepernick When I covered the San Francisco 40 Niners in 2016, that we that I got to up close, See athletes put action their actions in tow words on they were the first team to do it. They were the center of the movement, and it spread around the NFL. And I think that Seeing athletes today, you know, use their voices. And I mean, we even saw it last night, too, after the ruling came down in the Jacob Blake case, I mean, that was talked about all over first Take this morning. It's been all over TV on sports talk radio. Like It's hard. I mean, that's kind of the thing in like when, when stuff like this happens. I know that we're looked at is the escape, but Sports. It's not, you know, sports, not an escape from reality. Sports is intertwined and intermixed with reality. This is reality. We're all living this. Yes, it's an escape in the sense of, maybe for you want, like 15 minutes just to watch a game? Sure, but These people. These athletes are humans, too, and they're dealing with this as you and I, and it's everybody else listening Right now We're all going through it. We're all trying to process it do the best we can. It's not easy to your point. It's our escape its but they're they're They're They're people. They have feelings. They Yeah, I mean, and we escaped watching them, but they also are feeling The same things and they can't escape because that's their job. I mean it. Zahovic different world s O. If anything does happen, but we'll keep you up to date Azaz. The story's advance in our nation's capital from extremely concerning day data. I never dreamed I would ever see in my lifetime. Jennifer Lopez admits she's contemplating not marrying Alex Rodriguez

"All right. let's start with jennifer lopez revealed. She and a rod might never get married. They already postponed their plans of twice. And on. andy cohen's deepen serious. Oh sees me deep shallow sirius. Xm show andy acid. She's going to ditch the wedding all together. Is there any part of you as i'm looking at kurt russell and goldie hawn do press right now for something has. Is there any part of you that dot has ever thought. Maybe we should do a golden kurt thing and just we've talked about that for sure. I mean our age. You know we've both been married before it's like. Do we get married do we. Not what does it mean for us and it just comes down to like personal. What do you want to do. There's definitely no rush though. So what. I'm gonna throw this to you guys. I've had my opinion for a very long time. Do you think they're going to get married or are they gonna pull a golden curtain. Oh i go with golden kurt. Why not i mean. Come with mary. what three times. They've both been married. Come on get the house. You got the kids. You got everything i mean you go in. It's the it's the next season i mean. You really need somebody to travel with Give you some soup and push the wheelchair know. That sounds pretty. And all and i wish she was that girl. But she's not that chill. She is kinda sorta like me in the sense that we need that moment for our own peace of mind. You know what i mean. I think she was like. Yeah we talked about it in the sense that like you know. Yeah you know he brought it up in my. You know we kinda talked about it but nobody should do why. It's taking them so long though. Just because i always i've always felt that they are not going to get married and i also kind of feel like for them like if it's not broken don't if it's not broken don't fix it. That's that's that's saying. You know what i'm saying so i just feel like for them. There's no real reason they are already married. They already have a family life. As kim said they have the kids to have the houses that tried to buy a sports team would. Why does she care to walk down. An aisle for the fourth or fifth time. I think that's why we haven't seen it. But because she likes the ceremony she likes the moment. I think a lot of couples who are together and engage. Who don't care about those kinds of things have just rushed to the courthouse. Look at you. You did a four person waiting in your backyard. Because you didn't care about the pomp and circumstance and the lavish wedding and three hundred people in italy and having that whole moment for those to their power couple but they also know that they kind of open air bans to have that moment. What can they just have a big party. Why do we have to get the paper and it did. If we break up now we gotta split up. The houses. Divorce is too much you know what my easier to walk away from a curtain. Go the moment but if we get married and we walked down that aisle. It's going to take you not only a longer time. It's going away heavy on your heart to fuck up and walk off that. No that is true. But i think it's easier once you've done everything for her. I was you may need to go with. They're not going. Do i say. I want students win. There you go. I agree she should jerseys on. She's ready she just put that scorecard out there. This is what we're doing. I

Here's a first look at Apple's $549 AirPods Max headphones

Here's a first look at Apple's $549 AirPods Max headphones

"I wanna talk to you about the airpods max. There was many rumors this fall that these were coming and being mid december. It looked like maybe we're not gonna get it before. Two thousand twenty one but no early on tuesday morning apple announced and released the airpods max. They went up for sale. I think it was like eight thirty in the morning and to everyone's shock and awe and let's just talk about now five hundred and fifty dollar price tag for the airpods. Max i would love to have your initial thoughts not only on the price tag but on the name. Because i kind of wish. They went with studio because the rumored codename airpods studio because they're over the your headphones with the cups. Noise cancelling airpods max. I don't know it sounds a little funny. What do you think william. I did as she laughed when i saw the name but only because apple keeps used to keep everything secret and now everything seems to come out but they hit us with a new name. We weren't expecting and that did the same with the apple a. m water. It is like there's a naming department that can keep a secret. I agree studios san sense better so these headphones they're very expensive. They're five hundred and fifty dollars despite that they're basically sold out until march if you try to buy a pair now it'll say twelve to fourteen weeks shipping time so even despite the price very popular you can actually go and watch him hd. And i just actually have these. They did initial videos unboxing and some initial thoughts. I'll put those links in show notes as well just kind of a quick specs. These are over the ear cups headphones controls on these. It is all physical controls. There's a large digital crown on one of the earcups that you'll use to adjust volume or you can press it down for siri. And then there's also another button to go from transparency to noise cancelling mode so they have a lot of the features of the airpods pro. They have spatial audio. They can do dolby. Atmos and seven point. One surround virtually in the headphones. So that's all very cool but a couple of the noticeable omissions will say no power brick in the box so with your five hundred and fifty dollar headphones. You do not get a powerbook to charge you. Do get a cable. You get a usb c a lightening cable so you can charge it with one of the twenty usb c charging that apple will sell you but it also does not come with the cable to physically connect these headphones to an audio source. If you would like that you have to pay an additional thirty five dollars for a lightning. Two three and a half millimeter cable to plug into an audio source and again the fact that they went with lightning on instead of usb bbc. I'm not sure i feel about that. But those are the omissions and again on that price tag at least put the cable in there. I don't know that's just me. What do you feel wind. Packwood's and i agree with you. That seems wrong. I know we got loose. Packers have old ones. So i don't know how much use they would be i. It never occurred to me to think about a physical connection with this their wireless headphones release anything else. But actually yeah. If i am a musician pro use a full who. This is a bargain but a worthwhile cost. I'm likely to want to better connection wireless bluetooth so yeah on quite taken aback. Especially if you cross into that audio file realm and one of things. I'm going to do with it I did order a pair though becoming tuesday. So i'll be able to talk about him on next week's episode personally but i'm actually a classical music fan. I don't think i've ever share this with amish on the podcast. But i'm a classical trumpet player. That's my wife degree. yes i love. Actually listening to classical music. Believe it or not and so. I'm very curious to see how these sound. On some of those mozart requiems and brahms symphonies at to see the audio quality is really up to snuff. But for five hundred fifty dollars should sound amazing. You know per se. Obviously this is in comparison and in competition with headphones. Like the sony w.h. Xm fors which usually cost like three hundred. Three hundred and fifty dollars was like attuned dollar premium for these and the bose noise cancelling headphones seven hundred are very popular. Those are around three hundred and forty dollars. So you're getting two hundred to two hundred and fifty dollar premium to pay for these airpods. Max so i really hope have to imagine that the sound quality is excellent. But you're also paying for apple's features like the h. One chips the ability to the noise. Cancelling connect your devices seamlessly switch just like other airpods and airpods pro another cool feature to the cups. The ear cushions that are on the headphones are actually connect magnetically. And so if you want to replace the earcups for whatever reason they come off very easily and attach very easily as well and hd shows that had his video looks pretty satisfying and you can also get replacement ear cushions again. Not cheap but seventy bucks on apple you can actually order them now in the apple store and on their website but you can get replacement cushions for seventy dollars again in the future if you need them and you can mix and match colors. There's actually a cool chart you know if you will have to get the space gray headphones and put some blue cushions on it. You can be fancy like that if you'd like but again you're paying a premium for all these. I don't know. I'm curious to try them. But these don't tempt you at all as i once used the bose actions that you mentioned don. I was very impressed on. I do like us. I'm more of a malla guide. The mets on no. It doesn't tempt me. Except there is one thing this one specification you've just kind of lewd to skipped a very good. That is crucial. What color did you buy on. I won't with space gray because the size of these. I mean they're large. They're over the ear headphones. And i like to be discreet when i'm around other people the rare times that happens and so white white was tempting. But i don't have so much you know every other airpod is white and i didn't like the green or the pinkish red color. Blue was the only other one that tempted me. But i don't know. I just went discreet. I want black now. You wouldn't touch. That's what it is so next day. Jiang at a party somewhere. Nobody's gonna notice because she didn't have blue headphones. That's what i would have gone full blitz. Obviously the blue did look very nice. i was tempted. Also attempt to engrave these. I've actually never engraved an apple product. I don't know why i just have never done. It and i was very close to engraving these. But i had a moment of. I don't know what to put on them. And i know shipping. Times are gonna slip. So i just four went the engraving and just sorta without. But i'm curious william. Have you ever engraved an apple product. No because of always thoughts. And i'm gonna pass it on somebody else or might resell it to somewhere right. So it's been like having a set to somebody on their name. Just you break up with something. It feels wrong in a weird way. It feels like it's studies the the pristine finish of the device as well especially if you wanna resell it. That definitely makes it more difficult but I know you have tons of tattoos. You have sleeves don't you. Have you have tattoos all over please. I'm not illustrated unless you know what you said about coming up with something to say. I know whatever. I had written on me. I would change my mind magic instantly and want to me. I did work with a young writer. Who said she was aiming to have some text for every significant part of her life tattooed on and i wished to long life and much fatness so that you have room okay. Well staying on the grieving for a second. I saw that in addition to letters you can actually engrave emojis on apple products. Now you can choose emojis if you'd like. So here's my question to you william. If you could engrave any emoji apple device what emoji do you think you would choose. Would it be the winking smiley face sticking out the tongue or would it be money flying away. What do you think is the money involved here with page to do this. I give you twenty bucks. Yeah i need more need more. I need a lot more needs to pay for the hedge funds and then i feel that's nice cost parlance I'm i'm a writer. I can't bear emojis next. Particularly i had a message from a singer songwriter. I profoundly admire but it was all in emojis. And i have no idea what she was saying. It was just. I think it's gonna start communicating with you william. I'm gonna do all emojis from now on well good by sending emerges did not sending me pat. That's where you're going wrong. You sending the wrong listen. Listen we'll see when that when the next ipad comes out the battery life on my ipad. I don't know what's going on but it is I don't know. It's a little rough. When i edit podcast. It's great at any at any other time. So that new model comes out. I don't know we'll see you keep playing this long game gas lighting me. I'll just send it off without even thinking about it.
