Is the U.S. Still a Beacon of Light in a Darkened World?

"To you the prayer for the United States and that by synagogue literally mine because I wanted the three people who founded it. Say each week and have said for decades because we were part of another synagogue, which let us go because I'm conservative. And we've thrived beyond our wildest imagination. We used to get 30 to 40 people. And then we have a 150 in the same on Zoom, and this is all word of mouth. And it's a very beautiful experience each week. And we said this prayer, which begins with America, God God blessing America. I'll catch you at the exact words here. Won't I? Yes, I will. Here are the eternal God we ask your continued blessings for our country the United States of America a Beacon of light liberty and justice in a darkened world. I said that for decades or herded for decades. More precise. And it's so touched me. Wow, I do. I live in a Beacon of light liberty and justice. But the left doesn't like light liberty or justice. And it has slowly like termites eroded America. Of its foundations. So I just can't say before God what I don't believe to be true.

Joe Biden's 'F' For Failure

"When I say the president deserves an F if there were an F minus, I think I'd give him that. I mean, hey, look, we haven't wound up in World War three just yet, so I guess we got that going for us. But hey, he's got two years left on the clock, so anything is possible. And when you consider what has happened just in the last few days and the whole Chinese spy balloon, there's still another balloon floating over our western hemisphere when you consider the magnitude of that situation and the reality that we didn't do anything for 8 days. It traveled 4000 miles across our country. You really got to question his judgment. China says it reserves the right to respond. In kind. Except we don't really have any of these balloons that we know of for that the Chinese know of over their airspace. So if you take that a step further if you look into what they're actually saying here in the global times, tried in its own peculiar way to make this clear that they reserve the right to shoot down a civilian aircraft. Wow. Talking about an escalation. It's as though China really wants to escalate. Because now they're getting all full of bravado and thrown around rhetoric that's entirely inappropriate. Tonight, he's going to try and tell us, yeah, yeah, all under control, but let me share with you what the Chinese defense ministry spokesperson actually said and I quote the U.S. attack on Chinese civilian unmanned airship by force is an obvious overreaction. He added China reserves the right to use necessary means to deal with similar situations. Now you want to talk about overreacting. Meanwhile, what kind of idiot is going to believe that this was just a weather civilian operation. And by the way, how do you have two of them? Because another one was just found. I told you about it, I was in Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, says the Chinese have apologized for it, but guess what it's still there?

COVID Was Only the First Present From China...

"Not content with having given us COVID. The Chinese decided to send us a second present. And in fact, this present is a balloon. It's almost of the Chinese said, listen, we sent you a present, and now we're sending you a little balloon on top of your present. So you can be really grateful for what great guys we are. We like creating global pandemics. And then we also top it off by sending you a mysterious balloon. Now, what is the point of this balloon? What are the Chinese even doing with it? There's actually a second balloon that is floating across Latin and South America. So there are at least two balloons. There have been some reports of a second balloon in America, but I've only been able to confirm one balloon. So one balloon, and then one balloon in South America. Now, are these balloons spy satellites? Are they a prelude as some people have suggested to a an EMP and electromagnetic pulse or some other form of Chinese attack? Are they or are they merely a provocation? Hey, listen. We're going to send you a balloon. It's kind of like the way that a bully takes somebody in a playground and starts pushing him up against the wall or playing with his face. It's just a taunt. It's a way of testing the resolve and waiting to see if you're going to push back at all. Because if you don't, the bully realizes, oh, wow, I'm dealing here with a complete weakling. I can kind of get my way with him when I choose to escalate whenever I feel like it.

Rep. Mike Johnson: Reforming the Department of Justice

"Mike what do you think If you got several and maybe you don't want to put an importance on it But what do you think a couple of really important ones that I think you got to hit like a home run early So people can buy and say wow because a lot of us know what's going on A lot of us are frustrated But we can't really do anything about it And you guys maybe can Well you're right They've had our hands tied for the last two years because of course we did not have the majority in the House or the Senate Well in the last election cycle we got the majority It was returned to the Republicans So we are starting right out of the blocks fulfilling our commitment to America And one of the biggest commitments is to bring accountability to get the answers verified that we all know we can all see this again with our own two eyes but we've got to collect the data collect the facts and lay it bare for the American people to see because of course the administration is frankly just not telling the truth about this They're trying to cover it up So we're going to pursue that truth wherever it leads I think it's going to lead to some real accountability some real reform and some of these agencies And if you ask me what my greatest concern is moon about all of it is just take the Department of Justice right I mean our system our constitutional republic depends upon the people's faith in our system of justice We have to believe that justice really is equal Everybody is equal in the law Justice is blind But that's not happening right now because the Department of Justice has in a very true sense Then weaponized for one of the political parties for the Democrat party They've used it against people they disagree with And that is a terrible threat in a system of government like ours The people are losing their faith in the system of justice itself And so we've got to get on top of this

"Back at his presidential days Here's what he wanted to do and I think this is what the design is Here we go We can not continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful just as strong just as well funded Yeah and when I hear that it sends shivers in my body it just does I'm going wow so we can and that's why I'm saying when they thought stop talking about get rid of the police and they start talking about cutting police back and cutting budgets And these idiots and craziness people Antifa group Black Lives Matter Anybody else involved in this Anybody on the left George Soros Bill Gates It's absolutely crazy to think that you can't have Miller You got to have police people but you need them to be local and state let them take care of the states If it was a priority they would hire them right number of people And number two the court system would lock these bad people up and people had a murder and killing and raping people They deserve To get what they get And that's why you ought to have the death penalty I'm talking about people we know That are just doing wrong that are never going to make society a great place to live But what Barack Obama and somebody's people want folks I can't believe anybody would think this is a good thing

New Questions Plague Biden Amid Chinese Spy Balloon Disaster

"Not only that balloon that we shot down out there on the coast, but there's another one. In our hemisphere apparently floating over Venezuela and Colombia, the Chinese who want you to believe that somehow this is just some civilian weather surveillance operation, the Chinese are so lacking in creativity that they can't even come up with a decent excuse when you got a couple of these balloons hanging out in the western hemisphere, and Obama's former director of national intelligence James clapper, the same guy that was out pedaling the now infamous, totally disproven dossier, James clapper was on CNN saying he believed China. I mean, moronic, listen. I'm kind of inclined to believe the Chinese that this thing is errant and wandered off course. Wow. Well, I'm just glad you're not director of national intelligence anymore, not that I can say the team Biden is doing any better. The fact that he said that speaks volumes about the lengths to which the Democrats will go to try to manipulate things to help them. He didn't want Joe Biden to look bad. Joe Biden didn't want to look bad. He tried to hide this thing from us. He thought he could until people started spotting it in the sky in Montana, so it shows you they will just lie and lie and lie, so as to protect their own political behinds. What the heck went down here. And why is it that it was able, the balloon that is, to last for 8 days, why did they wait until it was over the Atlantic Ocean to shoot it down? Did they worry, for example, that there could have been some kind of bio weapon inside? I mean, why wouldn't you have just shot it down? And

A Listener Writes in to Eric

"This letter and I wanted to read this because I thought this helps me clarify where I'm coming from. All right, so this person writes, we're going to withhold the name. Eric, part of me never believed I would see this day, the era of roe V wade is over. So obviously I got this a number of months ago, and we've been holding it. But part of me never believed I'd see the day the era of roe V wade is over. When my husband and I visited independence hall back in October of 2016, the tour guide mentioned Ben Franklin's if you can keep it statement. I elbowed my husband and said, that's the title of Eric metaxas latest book. And this woman is obviously correct because this book did come out in 2016. She continues the election was only a few weeks away and we both knew it was important if you can keep it. So for a few moments in the birthplace of our republic, we prayed. We prayed for the lord's will to be accomplished in the election as the 2016 election. We prayed for wisdom. My husband wasn't a citizen then, so I had the sole vote for our family. I agonized over the decision. I wasn't sure he, Trump, was the man for the job. But today, I am so thankful I voted for him. Now, this is because of roe V wade. This woman is writing. Today I'm so thankful I voted for him. I'm thankful for your op-ed in The Wall Street Journal about the election. Now, in October of 2016, I wrote an op-ed that was published in The Wall Street Journal saying should Christians vote for Trump. This woman continues. I agreed that the Supreme Court appointments and the possibility of overturning roe was worth the risk. I marvel at the courage of justices Thomas Alito Gorsuch Kavanaugh and Barrett. And although abortion is still legal where we live in Washington state, I am emboldened to believe that God wants to change hearts and lives and end abortion even here. With roe overturned a terrible wrong has been made right, thank you for standing for truth. Wow. So this really this got me choked up and I said, at some point, if we can squeeze it in, I want to read it because I remember, you know, I think a lot of people, Trump is of course a very divisive figure. But I think a big part of the reason he's advised that figure is because he doesn't take Bologna, right?

Well, I was going to my bill and tell them about the direct TV and their censorship and stuff like that. I'm kind of in a bind because I have a landline that they've been trying to get me to not have for years. 'Bitcoin NFTs' Put Blockchain Purists on the Defensive

"One of the pieces of news that's been going on this week is that there's some drama in crypto Twitter about Bitcoin NFTs. So I did not know that Bitcoin NFTs were a thing. Apparently they're not super, they're kind of a thing. So it comes down to this project called ordinals, which was launched by a Casey rod armor. And the TLDR is that there are these NFTs on Bitcoin that basically they are being so you have a satoshi, which is the smallest unit possible on Bitcoin that you can transfer. So you take this one satoshi, and this one satoshi, when you transfer it, it has some metadata that you shove into the witness that is like, okay, here's what the NFT is. Here's what it does. Here's the color, the size or whatever metadata you put with the NFT. And so all this stuff is not sort of depending on how you qualify the witness, which the witnesses can now be larger in Bitcoin thanks to taproot. They don't necessarily have to be persistent on chain, but a lot of people do persist these witnesses. So that's where this NFT metadata is going. And it is making people in Bitcoin land mad. They are mad that there are some people who are shoving this NFT data into Bitcoin witnesses because it's quote unquote clogging up the chain. So now these ordinals in absolute terms are not super popular in a ton of volume right now. I think going through these Bitcoin NFTs, but there's a lot of argument about it. They have a dancing baby one. These are beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Wow. What are you guys thoughts on the ordinals drama and Bitcoin people getting mad about NFTs? I just don't understand why any Bitcoin supporter would be mad that people are using the Bitcoin blockchain. I think one of the most layers thing is actually, so there's a meme about hitting the witness size limit, which is like a round four megs, and we actually just did it an hour ago before this recording. So Wednesday, February 1st, around 5 between 5 and 6 p.m., like in the last hour ish. Was the first block. And it costs one BTC. It was basically nothing for filling the whole block. So don't like big blocks, they're just kind of, they're just kind of mad people about everything. It's like the Luke junior, the Adam bock, et cetera, cabal.

COVID Stimulus Spending Increased Inflation

"The other thing about inflation that you need to know about that I don't think a lot of people are talking about is that the COVID stimulus spending Also played a sizable role in inflation Eric beam wrote this at reason dot com And what they found when the Federal Reserve report published last month audit the fed Tom Massey you're right about that In the U.S. they found that fiscal stimulus during the pandemic contributed to an increase in inflation of about 2.6 percentage points That is a significant increase even if it doesn't account for the full run up of inflation that took place during the past 18 months Price increases accelerated in late 2021 and throughout 2022 Ultimately peaking at an annualized rate of 9.1% in June The large increase in demand triggered by the fiscal stimulus policy together with the slow pace of adjustment in production likely contributed to the current imbalance in the goods market they said Most obvious form of fiscal stimulus in the United States was the three rounds of direct payments mail to most American households during the pandemic About $823 billion was distributed in that matter According to COVID money tracker which is run by the committee for responsible federal deficit You remember that they have the 1200 bucks per person check that that went out That was early on in March They had another round $600 checks Then they had $1400 checks as part of 2021 then Biden pushed through another round of $1400 checks and households earning as much as a $160,000 in joint income were eligible for yet another round of direct payments during the first half of 2021 And when they review all this stuff they find that all this free money all your checks you just got yeah that also contributed in a big big way to inflation Shocking I know when the government gives you free money you think wow there's definitely no strings attached to this right

"Hi, Dennis. You know, I love it, respect you. I've been listening for over 20 years, but I really had a problem with your low view of marriage in that last hour. Wow, that's not fair. I have a well, I have at least as high of you as anyone living. But I made a comment that I believed divorce is important because if you think that no matter how you treat your spouse, they will never leave you, you might not act as well. So I totally got that. And I hope you do have an hour on it someday, but I believe that at somewhat word rape. And the Christian church, the relationship is to be a reflection of Christ in his church who laid down his life for her secondarily. My vow is not first and foremost to my wife. It's before God. And I make that vow for better or for worse. My wife has been sick, had been sick while for the most part of 11 years. She underperformed, should I have fired her dentist? No, well, first of all, I salute you and secondly, I said no matter how they treat you. And the adverse treatment, so to speak of you, was not in any way done volitionally by your wife. So I don't think anybody forgive me. I just want to say, I don't think anybody hearing me say no matter how your spouse treats you, thinks that I'm referring to a spouse who was been incapacitated by illness.

Of this guy who's now known as Leah Thomas, walking around the University of Pennsylvania locker room naked, now he says he's a girl. But if he is clear to everybody there, ready and a girl. But she's the bad person. In this Thomas, when he was swimming as a guy was at best a mediocre swimmer. Wasn't setting any records wasn't really winning. I mean, he was hundreds and hundreds of places out of first place. Then all of a sudden, he says, oh, you know what? Actually a girl. Starts swimming as a girl now ordinarily, there would be somebody who said, wow, hang on a second there. You're not, you've checked the wrong box on this form. You're trying to join the wrong team. We have a men's swim team, and that's where you belong. Instead, they said, sure, come on in. And so he suits up in a girl's bathing suit. And all of a sudden is winning all sorts of competitions. Setting all sorts of records and breaking other records. But he's just not a, not a girl. He's not a woman.

"I saw a very short video that someone posted of the airport in Singapore. He has a little video, and he says, I'm just in awe of Singapore's airport. And you see this magnificent airport with a giant waterfall in the center of it. And it reminded me of airports I've seen over the years recent years like the airport in Seoul, South Korea, another spectacular airport. Which by the way has beautiful facilities, top notch restaurants, you can have salons all in the airport itself. And it occurred to me, wow. Americans probably don't know this, but foreign airports today are much better than American airports. You look at places like JFK, which looks like some rundown, second, almost third world airport. And the Bombay airport, which used to be a third world airport. You'd actually have to walk on dirt to get to the gate is now a spectacular polished floors beautiful airport. Now, I'm not really here to talk about airports. I'm raising a bigger question, which is America in terminal decline. Now, I remember that when Reagan gave speeches, he frequently would say, and it's typical optimistic fashion. Our best days are still ahead. Even when Reagan wrote his very touching letter about having Alzheimer's, it ends with I'm convinced that America's best days are ahead. But I think for Reagan, this was not a prediction so much as it was kind of a hope that America would hold on to the things that made America special and made America great. What? Okay, let's get started. Which of the following statements about sound is the true scientific wow? Is it a? The first sound ever recorded was the song, Mary had a little lamp. Or is it B? Sound travels faster through solids than it does through air. Or is it C only very high pitched sounds can be heard in outer space. When you think you have the answer, say it in a high pitched voice. We're gonna take a quick break to give you a chance to think and when we come back, we'll find out if your wow is the winning.

"Found that reindeers blew winter eyes are at least a thousand times more sensitive to light than in the summer when their eyes are golden. And that's useful because where these animals live, they're so little light in the winter. And with those extra sensitive blue eyeballs, they can see what's going on around them much easier. But bowsers, if you chose a or C don't lose sight of the big picture. If you chose a that camels lick their eyeballs to keep the sand away? Well, you might do a spit take when you hear the real answer. Camels have three eyelids for that. Two of those eyelids have eyelashes to help protect them from all that sand flying around. But the third is actually see through. When camels close this third lid, they can get protection from sand and still see. It also works to clean sand out of their eyeballs when they blink. Kind of like a windshield wiper. If eyes are the window to the soul, let the eyelid be the windshield wiper. And wowzers, if you went with C that owl eyes are twice the size of ostrich eyes, the truth behind that is a real hoot. Ostriches actually have the largest eyes of any land animal out there. At about 5 times the size of human eyes. Ostrich eyes are bigger than ostrich brains. Those are some big eyes. Skyros, why don't you tell our winning wowzers what they want? Mindy all of our contestants today will be taking home their very own invisible anti x-ray glasses? Yeah, you know how x-rays help you see the new something like human skin? Yes. Well these anti x-ray glasses don't. With these babies you can't see through anything. So the prize is just regular glasses. Well, yes, technically, but they're also invisible. Okay, well, that's about all the time we have left for today, but before we go, we've got a little scientific challenge for you. We call it operation blink and think. Wowzers, can you build or draw us an eye? It can be a human eye and animal eye, a fish eye, a made up eye. It can be from a totally made up creature if you want. Label the parts is best you can and feel free to throw in your own ideas too. Maybe there's a special part that lets this eye see a zillion miles away. Maybe it sees way more colors than we do. "This is because of something called thermal expansion. Heat causes the metal frame to expand, which in turn makes it a few centimeters or inches taller. And get this because of Thermo expansion, the Eiffel Tower also leaned away from the sun. As the sun heats one side of the tower more intensely, that side will grow a little bit more and push the tip of the tower slightly over. It can even lean about 18 centimeters or 7 inches towards the shade. And wowzers, if you chose be the air directly surrounding a bolt of lightning, is actually the opposite of freezing cold. That's right. A bolt of lightning can reach up to about 50,000°F or almost 28,000°C, heating up all of the air in its weight. It's about 5 times hotter than the surface of the sun. And if you chose C as it turns out, while Benjamin Franklin did invent things like bifocals, the glass harmonica and swim flippers he did not invent the ice pop. The ice pop was actually invented by a kid by accident. That's right. In 1905 and 11 year old named Frank epperson invented the ice pop by mistake. Left some sugary soda powder and water out on a chilly night, and when he came back, it was frozen solid. After licking it off the wooden stir, you realized it was actually pretty tasty and the rest is popsicle history. Wow, that's pretty sweet.
