Firefighter Olsen was raised in Staten Island, New York, and in 1999 he graduated from the FDNY fire academy. Through his tenure he served at three firehouses, eventually being assigned to engine tene Manhattan in June of 2001. On September 11th, 2001, firefighter Olsen was on duty in one of the first response to the World Trade Center attacks. He selflessly gave his life that day, doing what he loved. He is survived by his wife, Denise, and three children Vincent Tory rose and nella. You know, this dedication is very special as firefighter Wilson's widow, Denise, is a close friend of ours. It means so much to be able to dedicate this episode to Jeff, especially on the 20th anniversary of his death and the attacks that change our country forever. Yeah, I think I saw therefore, Swon. I don't know when. When air travel resume like Week or two later, when I started flying again, probably more closer to two weeks or three weeks. I saw there force wanted an airport somewhere and thought, Boy just the immense Significance of that plane as we're dealing with this terror attack, um from the 414. Heard about the first plane hitting It was an accident one second and I knew we were being attacked. And I called command post of the 4 42 sales ready for whatever was needed. Yeah, that that That attitude of how can I help need more of that need more people with that attitude? Um, let's see two thoughts of 9 11 from the 41 for the absolute silence of traffic, No honking no loud engines. And that French newspaper in Paris said on 9 12 today We are all America. Yeah. For the most part, we have to defend. Individuals. We defend countries, we have to defend rights. And freedoms. That's why they happen. We would we prefer they don't they didn't absolutely. Sign me up, but that's not the reality of world we live in. People want to kill us. Therefore there will be conflict. Um, 414. I worked in a taller building downtown Milwaukee on 9 11. We were also home shortly after the second plane hit was a somber day. What? What struck me to the core was the next time the air show was in town. I didn't know was a flyover trial run day when I saw a shadow and sound of a plane flying low around downtown Milwaukee. My heart and stomach just dropped. Yeah, I can imagine. I'll share another story. When we did get back to flying, and I was something the flu every week around the country. And I could sense that people were edgy on the plane. I don't remember the trip was this is a long time ago. But anybody that was Acting. The fool was quickly shut down by other passengers. You know, people like to be loud and abrasive. That wasn't gonna happen. The mood was not Open to that kind of a joviality at that time, and for a while flying on a domestic Airline was rather somber and probably rightly so.
