Twitch's Recent Sports Properties Show Longterm Plan for the Platform

"On Sports properties and recently we've seen big moves towards that goal. I'm a dream since the Esports minute from E Sports Network, which is of course the home for Esports now will always be the platforms origination. But clearly the platform has been evolving firstly. There is a massive rise in just chatting as a category and in a lot more casual games and politicians using the platform. So there's that Evolution but there's also the evolution towards traditional Sports and we've seen this as well during the time when Twitches found Newfound competition, there are major leagues and major creators that are moving off platform over the last two years while the mixer experiment Network YouTube live has snatched up the CDL and o w l will also grabbing some big streamers in the process, but I honestly don't think twitch really cares that much they still are the dominant force in the mark. And command the largest audiences plus they have these grander plans. This isn't really a super controversial take twitch has been experimenting with more traditional sports events on the platform for the last few years. Most notably Thursday football games Coast trained with creators from the last few weeks two pieces of news have shown Twitches interest in traditional Sports and how it's continuing one was FIBA and the other was the kickoff of the fan control football game. Let's start with viva viva is the international basketball association the Federation dial international basketball amateur is where the FIBA acronym came from and now it's just the international basketball association today. They signed a multi-year deal with twitch people as far away from the NBA when it comes to viewership or relevance, but it does around the qualifying tournament for basketball at the Olympics as well as the bass World Cup and the World Cup and Hoops is definitely not the same as the World Cup in soccer, but it's still an important Sports property as part of the deal with twitch feeble broadcast 600 hours of basketball games on Twitch every year wage. Also be lighting up deals with Co streamers and creating more interactivity during broadcasts that interactivity is what twitch could offer and is also makes the fan control Football League pretty unique. The FCF is a new property that is not a few weeks on Twitch to pretty good viewership. It's cool because fans call the plays live during the game literally they vote on them and then the team runs them fans also have control over branding and player decision as well. The FCF utilizes Twitches ability for interactivity to basically play Madden in real life. Even Johnny Manziel is in the league for now. These are basically see tears Sports properties, but they show a month for twitch going forward the next time the meteorites come up for one of the major sports leagues Twitches definitely going to be having discussions. They've already cut in by having some of the NFL

"It's going to be the skeptic the skepticism because of our history because we know how the league works we know how to play offs often work and and we've got a recent example as you say with Milwaukee and we'll see if people can figure out a way to do that. They're not doing to combat them with this incredible three-point shooting that they're the displaying on the on the nightly basis. Yep. No doubt. No doubt. All right. So lamelo ball roof. You just run with the ball you run with it cuz you you you were no I wasn't right. I wasn't right. I was right on certain things. Okay. Well, I'm not taking credit for this frame of reference. I mean, I would I had to go to tell me about a minute. I have I always use listen Bob. I've said it over and over like his court vision and passing ability are out of this World Cup. This world my biggest worry with him coming in was maturity. Lack of effort on the defensive end whether guys would want to play with him because I thought he'd be you know, careless with the ball Throwing It All Over the gym Jack and three page him right kind of what he did overseas when I saw him, you know, just just having fun having too much fun instead of treating it like a business treating it like, you know, hey, you game still? Yeah, but but I'll give them like they've done a good job. Whoever's mentoring them over there in Charlotte has done a hell of a job because he's not throwing the ball all over the gym. I think ultimately this is something where His shot has gotten better already. It's not just mechanics are great, but it goes in I mean shooting 35% from 3 and over the last like month. It's probably closer to 40% from 3 month. So and he just sees stuff and and guys like playing with him. You could tell Bob and I've actually texted with a few players on Charlotte. They enjoy playing with him, why month cuz he wants to pass the ball and he gets them easy shots easy lobs. He rather passed the ball than shoot it and so I I'm really happy that I'm wrong on a lot of things with lamelo ball because I just thought his father would put him in a position that he couldn't dig out quickly. It would take him like three five years and the right situation in the right people around him. And listen Maybe the Gordon hayward's and you know, Terry Rozier and Devonte Graham and Miles Bridges, like whoever I didn't think this group would be that that yep..

"It's a bit of a slow news day in these Sports as America celebrates The Unofficial holiday that is the day after the Super Bowl but there's no apparel collaboration that e sports fans are stoked about first a few thoughts on the big game besides Brady winning again which is absolutely absurd we saw him or big gaming personalities intertwined with the game this year off nadeshot appeared in a commercial for Rockstar and last year we saw ninja and fortnite World Cup winner Booga appearance Superbowl commercials as well in the stands ninja and dr. disrespect were featured with cardboard cutouts at home Here's game. The NFL is clearly aiming at a younger audience. They streamed previous playoff games on Nick and on Twitch in this game. They brought in Nickelodeon slime cannons for part of the broadcast, but they didn't do a tire simulcast on Nick like they did with the previous games the legal keep tapping into gaming influencers and channels with the goal in mind of capturing younger audiences think they're realizing that just a focus on Madden isn't should be enough of a gaming push the NFL could look towards e Sports organizations for how to connect with their target audience clearly Team Liquid has their fingers on the pulse. Anime is huge with Gen Z and Naruto has been popping over multiple generations and multiple series liquids new clothing line with the popular anime is going to sell absurdly quick the shop will open up on February 12th at 2 p.m. CT. And if you want some of the collection you'll likely need to be online at that moment exactly or close to it liquids ongoing partnership with Marvel has also been very successful, especially on the merchandising side. There's clearly a huge opportunity for home. organizations to pair with other popular media when looking to expand their merchandising operation while Brands like thieves and FaZe Clan have built up streetwear with just their logos collaborations are a large part of how they got their liquid is taking a little bit of a different path with their merch strategy but it's one that is also working well and I'm sure this collection is going to be a huge

My name Is Ada, her Groberg. She's in a region soccer player, one of the few superstars who protested the unequal treatment of women in the sport. What does she do? And what is the film follow? No ADA Pro tested, Um, but I removing herself from her national team Norway and did not play in the 2000 and 19 World Cup on. DCI does not participate with her team anymore. And this was kind of just an overview of aid, his life and her fight for Equal pay and gender equality in her sport and to get people in the world and in Norway in particular to pay attention to the fact that they have to invest in women. Last week and then sure, the last day of the festival features the world premiere of the Third Strike, a documentary about lawyer Manjula Cody and her team who helped people serving life sentences for nonviolent drug offenses. Epic Games Puts Down Another $20M in Fortnite Prize Pools

"Certainly been an interesting year for epic games the developer of faith and its continued pushing the game into new territories, especially when it comes to interactive media and branding but they're also taking on Apple in an ongoing lawsuit. Apparently that lawsuit has really threaten the company's bottom line too bad though as yesterday epic announced another twenty million dollars would be put down for fortnite tournaments back in 2018 for the 2019 and 2020 Sears epic kok to put down 100 million dollars in total prizes on fortnite Esports events, and they came through they gave out a hundred million dollars over the last two years. The biggest paychecks came out of the former World Cup, which South forty million dollars awarded between the qualifiers and the main event many other events put up a couple of million here a couple of million. They're you know casual things in any other sport these would like a game. Massive Flagship events for epic. They were just a continuation of a huge promise. One of those events was the fortnite Champions series better known as the fmcs is the closest continuous structures. Fortnite Esports has ever had that event last year had a solid 3 million dollar prize pool yesterday. They announced the fortnite Champions series was jumping to twenty million dollars for the 2021 season off epic blog posts. They made it clear where exactly the money's going. First of all it's being more heavily weighted on winners than in the past where qualifiers would paid out pretty nicely this you gotta make the finals if you want any do here's how the twenty million dollars breaks down. The first important split is between the F and C S and yet unnamed mid season and end-of-year events. The fmcs will have twelve million dollars for its thorns. Well eight million is being held for events based off winners and qualifiers in previous f n c s events, so they're like part of the ecosystem but they're not part of the four individual Seasons wage. Brings me to the next split that twelve mil is being split among the 4f NCS Seasons leaving 3 mil per season. The seasons will happen along with the actual Seasons with the first one month beginning in late January early February. I believe don't have the date in front of me and ending in mid-march and so on and so forth through spring summer fall you guys you guys are seasons work. The final split is across seven different regions. And this is where it gets a little bit more confusing. Those seven regions are Europe Brazil Oceania the wage East Asia and then n a but it's split into two regions. Each one is not weighted equally either Europe has one point three million dedicated specifically to it the highest of any prize pool sneeze to Regions combined finish at just under 1. Mil Sil is next with three hundred grand then Asia with a hundred and fifty Grand Middle East with 120 and Oceania with ninety. It's both a bath. Viewership as well as a catering to where the best players are that make up for that

"Everybody and welcome to the Ubuntu podcast is season 13 episode 14 It's the final episode of the year and of season thirteen it wasn't that unlucky after all. Hey, we'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us this year with our patreon subscriptions and with one off PayPal contributions now as usual as this is the last show of the year. We are going to be going on Hiatus off for a couple of months at the beginning of next year to give us and all of you are break. So Martin, would you like to explain what's going to happen with our patreon while we're off? Yes, so the first thing that's going off. And is there will be a payment taken on January 1st or whatever, you know, the first week of January is and that will be the money that we use to pay for the team member production costs, but then we will pause patreon taking money for a boon to podcast until we return or if indeed we return that and because you know, we haven't had our career yet and decided if we're going to do this again, but we will be pausing the patrian whilst we're off the air great. So yes, if you're subscribed and you'll continue to support us then continue to be subscribed. We won't take your money without giving you podcasts. And in the meantime, Alan what have you been up to recently? Well just in time for the exhaust episode. I have removed the audio noise that was plaguing my system and also doubled my speed on my desktop PC. Wow. Is this the same fix for Bose? It was it was one fix that did both things. It turns out I use ethernet over power adapters tp-link devices because my office is like the complete opposite end of the house from the internet connection and to get it here. I didn't run ethernet. I just use ethernet over power and I've been using it for years and there's been this background like crackle for a while and I couldn't pinpoint what it was and I thought it was cables crossing over or something like that. And also the internet in this room is 50% of what it should be. I get paid for like hundred hundred and ten Meg or something that I get home forty eight fifty something like that. And when the kids are out one day, I unplugged loads of things and Shuffle things around and it turned out it was the ethernet over power device which has a through socket was plugged into a four-way thing and I moved it. So it's plugged directly in the wall. Magically the audio problem goes away and my internet is now twice as fast off. That's all I did was. The only thing that changed was me moving the ethernet over power socket to be plugged directly in the wall. Suddenly. Everything's faster and better. Wow, great. Well, I'm glad you got that down time for one recording. Sorry Joe Martin what we even up to I have been playing Hotshot racing with my friends on that their Internet. It's a good game. This is a driving game. I imagine it is. I think I may have mentioned it earlier in the year, but it's having a bit of a Revival at the moment. It's a low poly retro arcade style game racer available on Steam and you can play it under proton. And now now I'm not working for you know, the Christmas break. I was looking to have some fun so long I've started hosting some Linux game nights and this is the game. We're playing at the moment doing an excellent romp around the tracks and can people watch you playing even if they don't want to play they can wage. I've started a second YouTube channel just for playing games on Linux and it's all streamed there and everyone who's playing along with me has a voice in the room and it's a group effort. And in fact, some of the others are streaming as well. So you can even own overlay multiple angles of the game being played at the same time brilliant. And with that let's get on with the show you as it's the last show of the year. We thought we would have a big fight respective on all of the good news that happened in 2020. So let's begin back in episode one or the 24th of March Martin. What good news did you find? I was delighted by Alain running. The urban too long will paper World Cup and Hardy heroine being voted as the all-time favorite a bun to desktop wallpaper who would possibly have seen that result coming off but what transpired is I did a bit of archaeology and we dug up the original artwork for that and we were able to reproduce a 4K version which was included in the focal fossa. LTS release later in the year nice brilliant and speaking of that LTS release. We had more good news in a purple. Yes, indeed April was of course the release of the the focal fossa LTS release and you know, I think for Alan as much as for me, you know, this is a landmark for us off. The LTS is a very important but you know personally this was my first time around being, you know engineering director for a bunch of desktops. So it were it was, you know, Grill milestone for me personally and professionally and this is now the distro that's going to be out there for the next five years, you know running on all manner of you know, laptops and workstations Allen. Yeah following on from that was a nice Community led a bunch of testing week that we talked about back in episode three, I think this year and the thing I loved about that was it was community-oriented. They didn't even have to ask permission. They didn't have to you know, get canonical approval to do this. It was just a bunch of community people who decided let's get together and get some testing of 2004 before it's released and they organized wage for all of the flavors and it really helps a lot more people were had more eyeballs on on 2004 than previous releases. So it was it was very welcome that people were doing it and he May Roam Shuttleworth did an interview with ZDNet where he spoke about canonical's finances possible initial public offering and going into some details about canonical's profitability, which is interesting because ZDNet did some looking into canonical's reports which they file which show is actually been a profitable company since 2018, which is really cool to see the way they talk about how it's not as profitable as redhat because you'd have to pay as much women too as you do Fred her but it's really cool to see it's actually, you know, financially self-sustaining now and there's a possible path to it going public but there's reasons for caution about especially given the the current situation in the world. It'll be interesting to see how that pans out in the coming years. Martin so later in may we announced the codename for our what was the urban to 2010 release and that code name was groovy gorilla and I'm very pleased that because I managed to convince Mark shuttleworth that that's the codename we should go with and and he he decided to go with it. So yeah, what's the what's the bucket list moment? There should also led to having gorilla based wallpapers and gorilla based t-shirts and stuff. But yet Grill is an iconic animal rather than some weird squirrel the animal that nobody have it scrolling teacher. Yes. Yes and jumping ahead to do now and yeah Lenovo made their entire workstation range of a.m. For brunch and obviously as a ThinkPad nerd this made me quite happy. And so this was a good news item for the middle of the year and I haven't actually bought one yet. I'm I'm still I thought These machines and thinking carefully about what my next laptop purchase will be. But the fact that you can buy Lenovo is now with Ubuntu pre-installed and available directly from their website page makes me very happy. So that was good to see that. Yeah, and it also marked that this year. We had more of an to certified certified devices than any previous year. So, you know

Patriots at Dolphins: Alain Poupart breaks down Miami's running game

"The Houston was really the only team I would say that actually through on the Patriots effectively this year and DeShaun Watson besides Russell Wilson all the way back in week two thousand. I am curious, you know, the Dolphins do they have a running game. Do you think that they can do that with because I don't see it, but I don't want to I don't want to be biased over here. Either way. I mean, there are 30 second in the league in rushing yards per attempt. They were missing their top three rushing leaders last Sunday against the Chiefs. What's a be perfectly blunt? None of them are impact players Matt breida came off the covid-19. Wednesday obviously he'll be back. When he hasn't made much of an impact after coming over from the 49ers in the in the trade Myles Gaskin is on the Cove in list and he's a nice story as a second-year seventh-round pick who laughs basically got a cup of coffee in terms of playing time this year and he basically became their feature back and he's got some ability. But in a in an Ideal World Cup gasket is your backup is now your future back in this is what the Dolphins are dealing with our offensive line. Also a good story much better than was last year. They're starting three rookies with Austin Jackson am handsome in kinloch. but when you start three rookies pretty much ninety-nine percent of the time you're going to go through some growing pains and their offensive line while again exponentially better than what last year is still not great. Let's say it's worked in like but they're not a whole lot of big old being open in the running game and you don't have running backs off will make a lot of things happen on their own. So there's a reason again there there are thirty-second in the NFL in rushing yards per attempt and complicating matters. This week is they have injury issue is that wide receiver position where they also have a lot of players but not a whole lot of impact players. So you mentioned might get sick you earlier I believe and now he's got a shoulder injury where we can't get any Clarity from Ryan Flores as to his status for this week. It's all we'll see is working on all that. But if you saw the injury really really hard to Envision him playing cards Devante Port Parker pulled a hamstring or had a hamstring injury against the Chiefs you came out in the first app did not return. He practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, so hopefully play it but then if he plays this carrying a hamstring injury. And then so who else do you have left after that now you're looking at your team Grant who is more of a return specialist and and then their shuttle pass receiver gadget Play type of player on offense. He's also got a hamstring injury that knocked him out of Chiefs game. And then the rest of the wide receiver Corps is rookie limbo Junior who played multiple positions at Kentucky. You have a Mack Hollins who want to sign as a special-teams standout, which he is. He's very going to special teams but more so than the receiver and then you have one of the guys being talked up being able to make a major contribution as Isaiah Ford who you may remember from his three weeks with the Patriots after the acquired immune to trade in his office. I knew he was he didn't play it down for the Patriots. I knew how long is not going to last year when he got up here and he said it is freezing. I need a winter coat, you know, what am I going to do? And I just said look, I'm sure he's a fine football player. I'm sure he could make an impact on the team that needs wide receiver help but this guy does not seem like he wants to be in New England right now. Well, no, but he plays at Virginia Tech. So I'm so he's not like dead. He's from Jacksonville plant in Virginia tag, so it's not like he's not he's never been the call before and the thing about Isaiah Ford and then it was often friends are thinking. Well, Isaiah Ford is going to come and rescue the the passing game and that like life. He's a really really really nice good. And he might be in the league for ten years because he's got a great attitude. He works hard doesn't see anything. He's not an impact player. And right now this is what they have their wide receiver Corps. If she doesn't play they have nobody who's going to really scare the Patriots defense and if you you throughout the city also doesn't play. I mean who makes things happen on this office on Sunday? So that that's a big

CAS Reduces Russia’s Doping Ban to Two Years

"It's official. Russia is banned from using its flag and anthem at the next two olympics. This all stems from a doping scandal. Last year the world anti doping agency learned that russia had been tampering with drug testing data. Russia was initially threatened with a four year ban meaning. They would have no formal presence at international competitions for four years but the court of arbitration for sport said yesterday that the ban will be two years instead and this doesn't just affect the olympics but other global competitions to like the fifa world cup the youth of games and other world championships now to be clear even though russia is banned. Russian athletes are still allowed. Some of them can still compete as long as they're not suspected of doping the says they'll just be competing as a neutral athlete or neutral team. Italian 1982 World Cup hero Paolo Rossi dies aged 64

"Italy continues to mourn. The passing of footballing legend paolo rossi nineteen hundred eighty. Two world. cup hero passed away this week. At the age of sixty four they see some of the headlines sports summing it up simply for always craig still with so shocked. But we'll get his thoughts and just you were telling me nineteen eighty two really your first world cup experience a fan at least ten or eleven year old just watching and seeing all these great players. I'd never seen because we didn't get the pictures by them was holiday any soccer on tv particularly from from other countries in europe. But the game i remember was was rossi scoring a hat trick in this game here against a fantastic brazil side in a knockout stages and the game was three two. It was a terrific game. The socrates zico in deir in junior. And of course great italians say and polaroid was just a belief from had a three year bonds for a much fixing scandal that was reduced to two years so ends will basil. Could pick them so. It can fly italian team. And i just remember him as this great portrait of goals. Of course the final daily the great when when he's running away given all out. That was the foster world cup. That i really remember. I remember watching that game in particular brazil vs italy because it was so many great players on the field and of course pro rossy got hot track to knock out that brazilian team Rossi won the golden boot the golden ball and the tournament. Yeah not a bad. Summer's work there Shock you always say that nineteen seventy eight was your first world cup but you obviously would have been paying attention in eighty two. What do you remember about rossi listeners. As coming from it's almost by default to you adopt brazil as the national team that you follow for the international competitions so from a brazil perspective heartbreak seventeenth specially with argentina. Gone on to win it. And then that eighty two team and how talented. It was still referred to as the best team to have not won the world cup or the expectation around brazil going into that tournament. Even all the pre-game expectations brazil against italy. How how one sided was going to be and then upsets paolo rossi on his hat trick. That craig mentioned for me also. It was kind of my my first exposure to that kind of strike on in the six yard box kind of striker as instinctive as clinical as he was on how the ball always seem to find players. Like like paolo rossi. That was an education for me as as a young fan despite the disappointment around brazil. An unexperienced that. I will never forget the very least a performance on an individual that i will never forget of course a hat trick in the match against brazil couple of goals in the semi final against poland. And then the opener in the final against west germany. There you see. Many career accomplishments paolo. Rossi passed away earlier this week. At the age of sixty four.

Complexity's COO on Race to World First

"We're talking about race to world first and complexity limit race. The world first is a competition between World of Warcraft guilds for bragging rights and massive achievement as we had bought a World of Warcraft Shadow. Let's raise the world's first complexity limited method are the two guilds likely to lead the race Sunday sports fans may not be aware of this particular competition is one of my blind spots in Esports as well. But luck with Kyle here to Rover what's fed is about why everyone should watch and how the broadcast production has evolved over the last few years. So Kyle I had to avoid while because it took me years to kick by Roots game addiction, but I do wow. Wow. A buffet that's a reduction by like five times so four people are familiar with Warcraft. What is the overview for race to world first? Yeah. I'm right in the same boat with you. I played well for many years and I got class and until our first race earlier this year. It got me hooked back in so it's it's a pretty exciting event. But on a high-level World of Warcraft rating takes 20 players in a concerted effort to defeat computer-generated scripted events or dungeons rates, whatever you want to call them and wage every 6 months or so blizzard the developer and publisher for World of Warcraft releases new dungeon and raid content. This concept has three levels normal heroic and the most difficult being Mythic and upon the release of Mythic content guilds from around the world assemble their best twenty players and some juice. Institutes analysts and coaches and try to become the first group in the world to defeat the the content and while mostly sports events are normally, you know a day or two thousand events can be quite long as this is extremely difficult content and often take a number of days. It's really interesting. There's so many unique things with it erased the World Cup that you don't see anywhere else a t sports events the length of competition just having twenty people working together in teamwork. The biggest other game teams are like six in a major use for it, right? There's no other sport that has anywhere above Ted people working together to try to accomplish a goal like this that I can have Battlefield. I want to say Battlefield 4 was nine players wage. "Gab. A sad day as paolo rossi passed away last night. Eight sixty four. You'll memories of him. Well i mean we. All i think most people around the world right world defined by the first world cup that we remember and for me. I woke up. And i remember was nineteen eighty-two which is pretty good if you happen to be italian 'cause we got pretty well But also obviously at the center that that that a hat trick against brazil epic game. Against what i think was greatest world cup team yet. Never win a world. Cup and in my lifetime was absolutely epic. I got to meet him afterwards. He was always a very laid back. Never took himself too seriously. I'm just very gentle guy you know. I don't wanna term lightweight in a negative sense but that's kind of how it felt. When was he expected to do so. Well in that world cup now known coming off two years where he didn't play and he was. He was embroiled in a betting scandal before that and it was a really really big deal that ends up. It's time to come back. It was a classic sort of redemption story for him. Never quite made the great at club level after that world cup they bring him back for the six cup But still he was. He was tremendous tremendous striker. Tremendous figure i think and also nineteen seventy eight. You might remember this too. He had a big world cup. They're scoring three goals freely as they can put the came to the tournament. Yeah fourth actually filter. sorry yes. They lost to brazil in the rank. Flat

Riot Games Reports League of Legends Worlds Viewership for 2020

"No secret that League of Legends world's is the most watch E sports event every year but the absolute massive gap between worlds and other events is all staggering to see this morning right games reported an average minute audience or AMA of twenty-three million as an increase of about 1.2 million / 2019. They also reported a peek concurrent viewership of forty six million viewers and over 1 billion total hours watch over the entire course of the tournament e Sports viewership can be confusing to track given the difference between a streaming platforms track viewers and how TV networks do so. So Riot and Activision Blizzard brought in Nielsen to provide the average minute audience or am a stack the stat is directly comparable to other he's dead. Events who use AMA and to traditional sports events and their TV ratings any sports Activision Blizzard's announced AMA for the OverWatch League finals was 2.9 Million globally. That's just a little bit over 10% of what world's received. It's no wonder o w l team owners are in conversations to get partial refunds from a Beyond those lofty team by ends, but worlds was also higher than most traditional sports events as well. The 2020 MLB World Series saw an average of about ten million viewers per game. So about half of League of Legends world. The NBA finals were even worse averaging about 7 and 1/2 hours per game. It should be said that the World Series was in line with previous historical averages while the 2020 NBA Finals was an anomaly only seeing about half of the viewership. We saw over the five finals before it off other events of League of Legends world's beat included the NHL finals, which was at two million viewers and gulps the Masters at about six million viewers. There are only a small handful of sporting events drawing more viewers than League of Legends at home. Point Wimbledon Tennis is about 28 million viewers the Superbowl sits around a hundred million viewers every year and then the Champions League finals which neared five hundred million viewers back in 2019. I believe a bunch of other soccer events are probably over that number as well, but I didn't go through all the regional leagues. This does not include events that happen every four years like the Olympics the soccer World Cup or the Cricket World Cup, which are all well overly of Legends as well. Still you can see why league is attracted so much attention and brought in so many Brands. It's in really lofty company with numbers like this. It's all first episode of the Esports minute. Epic Games Announces Plans for Fortnite Esports in 2021

"Minute from E Sports Network. The Esports minute is presented by technology game-changers. Check them out at TGC play link below epic released a blog post yesterday talking about their plans for the fortnite Esports ecosystem in 2021. We've come a long way since epic pledged would hundred million dollars towards fortnite Esports events back in 2018. The game has waned in popularity a bit but still commands a massive audience according to Epic 15 million unique players took part in the end of the season event earlier this week. The competitive side was also supposed to have some consistency in 2024 the first time but as everyone knows consistancy and twenty20 just don't belong in the same sentence. So first let's go for the bad news from this blog post epic is not currently planning any in-person events for 2021 including the fortnite World Cup. This is unfortunate, but it off. Safe choice to make if we get a massive roll out of a vaccine in early spring which seems like the most likely possibility at this point that could all change but for now online events just have to be the plan change it on the positive side the Ford I championship series or f n c s we moved to trios as the primary form of competition previously solos and Duo's when the main choice in fortnite Esports in my opinion Iraq is a crucial aspect when it comes to enjoying e sports events and trios adds another level of communication and strategy. The fmcs will be the Bayside competition for fortnite Esports. Basically the closest thing to a regular season with the fmcs will be the Baseline competition for fortnite Esports. Basically the closest thing to a regular season, but epic will also be putting together more weekly tournaments more random unique tournaments and more Creator Cubs 2021 and not all of those will be in trios. So fans of Duos and solos will still have some events to look forward to basically they're mostly missing

U.S. Female Soccer Team Settles Part Of Gender Discrimination Suit

"The us women's national soccer team getting a workplace upgrade a proposed settlement with the us soccer federation promises better travel and safer playing surfaces among other things for the reigning world cup champions this settlement resolves part of a discrimination lawsuit after the women sued the federation it does not settled their demand for equal pay. Npr's tom goldman reports last year. The us women's national soccer team confirmed its folk hero status for the fourth time. The united states of america tram champions of the wild and for the very first time. They've on european soil but a few months before that crowning moment the us women filed a discrimination lawsuit describing workplace conditions not fit for folk heroes. Travel hotels playing fields. that didn't measure up to their. us male counterparts who've had far less success on the pitch yesterday settlement which is expected to be approved writing the workplace wrongs for the women. They'll fly charter like the man. They'll have comparable hotel budgets. In almost all circumstances they'll play on grass a safer surface than the artificial turf where they sometimes competed from both sides. There was praised for the agreement former national team players. Cindy parlow cone is now the. Us soccer federation president is a good day. I hope everyone sees that. We are a new. Us soccer she meant a federation more open and collaborative than the one under the previous leadership that battled an even denigrated. Its most prized asset. The us women their spokeswoman molly levinson called the settlement an important step in a long fight the players have worked very hard to achieve equal workplace conditions levinson hedged when it came to parlow cones proclamation of a new reality for us soccer until we get to that moment when the us soccer federation recognizes that the women's play is valued equally to the man's play. We aren't at a great day yet. The equal pay issue has made the soccer folk heroes as relevant off the field despite popular support for the. Us women's quest a federal judge in may rejected the part of their discrimination lawsuit that called for pay equal to the us men but now with the workplace issues resolved. The women can appeal the decision. And will says levinson asap in a conference call. Yesterday with reporters parlow cone noted how the two sides reached the workplace settlement in a collaborative way with a lot of back and forth and listening. It is my hope that we continue down this path and are able to find a resolution on all aspects of this litigation. Any conversation about pay can get complicated the. Us women's and men's pay structures are different in ways that sometimes make comparisons difficult soccer's international governing body fifa pays women much less in world cup bonuses. Levinson worries a back and forth dialogue about all this will cloud what the women say is quite simple. Equal pay for equal play. Parlow cone says the federation is one hundred percent committed to that for a team. That's the best in the world seeking paychecks to match.

"Wondering what you want. It was some real great movements and the date or the game. We wanted the game. All right. Sounds like a good evening. There's so many jokes that I like wanna make about like leaking at the back, but like none of them applies over. Fair all. It's all right. We'll get to those work commend later. The final score doesn't know forty two forty two final score for the bad guys. Bad guys came out on top. There's a lot of talking points here that were no real bad guys. I think everyone was having fun out there. Everybody was everybody was I, I, I don't know if I was, but at the end of the day I was because the only guy that I've ever watched that consistently looks like he's never having funds one Kudrow through. That's actually replay. I think that actually I can relate to that. I think it when I'm playing soccer, obviously very a lot slower than him and a lot worse than him. But like I feel like I looked just as angry while playing soccer. I mean, he's clearly a higher class than everyone. He was playing with her against the like he, he everytime you touch me felt like he was like he took it personally that you were even coming near him like he, he did the same thing in the World Cup when Colombia had that final game when HAMAs was playing and their strategy was to clearly hack out there like, yeah, he was using nasty little players. Got a, he's got a bite to. Yeah, that goes for. Columbia, they got a bite to and they're nasty team. I mean, they're like quarter. How does not the only guy that HAMAs obviously is attic. He had a great game today. Go, Madrid doesn't by bad defenders. Normally we talk about Pepe I guess Ravitch is not great, but listen to the goals for Columbia. They scored for them. That's a lot you'd like to you'd like to give up less than four goals if you're if you're defense normally, but they were all pretty good goals. I mean, the one from HAMAs to get it started was like, I mean, you just tip your cap. I mean, you can't do Brooke should have got on them a little quicker. Should've pushed out on him, close the gap a little bit, no doubt. But that shot. I mean, come on, you put it in like. Like the top corner, you wanna say, can close out. You want to say, like if remind you of availa goal or something like something we have to be able to defend. But that was a different one. That was a little deeper, a little farther, a little more out of the blue, like Stephan didn't even think it was like, I thought he was crossing the ball for for real what he what he landed it up. I got a couple tweets from people being like that was across that was. I was not a gross that was known now, but like you know how later in the second half he stood went up to the back post. For the third goal, I think maybe the fourth goal, but it's this. I thought he was doing the same thing with right on the the kicker, whatever they thought he was doing the same thing. Guy thought he was just standing up just hit that backward, just you don't hit them better. So so I mean, this is a reminder. Columbia is full of guys who play in the best clubs in Italy, Germany, Spain, you know, let's let's pump the brakes on shitting on the US team for the game, France. Correct. Thank you. It's not. It was not a great performance. So let's go back to what I said the beginning. I was disappointed. It certainly wasn't a good performance. Let alone great. It wasn't terrible. It was not a terrible performance and I'm by no means in my disheartened. By this performance, this is a team that is early in the cycle. People like like, you forget, this isn't this team that is early on in a new cycle. They have not been playing together playing against the team in Columbia, that this was basically their World Cup team. And they could have gone further in the World Cup than they did if they would've had HAMAs who is clearly not one hundred percent for the entire tournament and didn't even play the so like,.

"But no, I, I, I, I want VR and the Champions League I do. I don't know. It's just like as the games of all Ving players get faster and stronger and stuff like that. There are situations where players are really going to get hurt. And the one thing I think VR does a good job of his identifying when tackles are career ending and just skate by. So I will say from health standpoint. I mean, these guys have these guys are fast. You see, I big to differ little bit 'cause they tend to rely on on slow motion footage, right? And slow motion footage just makes something look twenty times worse than it actually is or were able to identify twenty times clearer. How that that is true. I mean, you can see dot up but better, but you know, the takes the pace out of it does win at SAM's old player. You wish you had a couple of those back. So here's the thing both. Yeah, I think you guys actually know what always said. Everybody's listening. I think of all ready gone on and on and on. People don't even wanna hear, but the the problem with doing it for the tackles you're talking about my key is that. It's still going to be a controversy still going to argue every now. And again, there will be a, you know, a tackle or a handball that everybody agrees while that was just a totally biff call and you know, they made it, they they got, they got it right on the a are. So that does happen here and there on what you often so much more often though it's just, yeah, there's a, but there's huge. And so basically so much more often. It's just you're adding an extra layer of human fucker, and there's gonna be no less controversy. And so you're also stopping the game and doing all this and you're killing what I love about the beautiful game sort of that flow. The constancy of it, it's just, you know, I don't wanna lose that, but I also wanna throw. One other problem I have in here. So the I will say, at the World Cup, the VAR worked pretty well. I mean, I'm not even. I'm not a big lover of it, but you know, by and large, it stayed out of the way. It got, I would. I would disagree with some of the calls, but whatever it was it was okay. I thought it was going to be an absolute shit show. It did not turn out to be that bad, but here's the thing at the World Cup every single gate. They had like three or four of those dorks in like full referee really room somewhere like just eagle-eye TV screens, you know, at every game during every single game. So they were in uniform, which is a sterile, a really full kit kit rebel ramming we actually, I do remember that. I remember that. Yeah, so it was like, I mean, but they were. They were watching the games, all of them, like their four of them that are watching every single game. How are you going to do that? When there's fifteen to twenty Champions League games going on at the same time I had were even Premier League, there's five or six games. I just don't. There's a logistical feasability issue here that nobody seems to be talking about. And it's, it's just not gonna, be smooth as it wasn't a World Cup because they had these people, you know, dedicated to VR. So what were you saying. Was is does. Oh, so so another one of my beefs is with those touch and go decisions. There's more touching go decisions than you know, eight, a click decisions in in a football game and VR just, you know, makes those look slowing down and stuff like that. Makes it look bad or or. Yeah, it makes it makes it look worse pretty much. So that's that's why I'm not really a fan of a view is going to say that I'm now a fan because in my head I have like a second there were said, and I just wanna take credit for swallowing this sentence for that long. But you know, for an absolute fact, Mark Latin bergh's gonna be the first VAR official. He's in Saudi Arabia? Yeah, you know, for a fact he's going to be the first like replay booth official in the Jamie. It's like, I love Clinton. TV if it doesn't put his name is in every headline as the first VAR had official or some shit like that..

"But right before the end of the game, the guy gets absolutely hacked in the middle of midfield and he gets up and pushes, the guy gets a straight red card. So I really feel like within ten minutes span, we saw a player. Obviously, he showed his quality in the World Cup. And she last year, but we saw his potential publicly a ball door winner, I'd say in the next five years. Okay. And then ten minutes later, we see him losing his cool when I think there's something to be said for how messy and Rinaldo obviously the ball winter's over the last ten years conduct themselves when they get kicked, it's pretty rare that they pop up. They let their other either let their teammates kind of handle that situation or they let the referee do it. And and I don't know if those guys get enough credit for just letting that letting the emotion get over them. And I think because of his youth and because he was so fired up about whatever he got the, you know, got the better of him. I feel like if you're gonna be a ball, indoor winter, you gotta be able to control your emotion. And so he's not there yet, but I think he will be there. Soon reminder is nineteen years old. You know. Sure. Incredible. Okay. Now we're gonna go to. To Italy, and there's a couple of stories here. Dravida was still alive. He scored the goal for Parma. Did I didn't even know he was still playing may have one of the best hairlines you'll ever see. I know it's incredible. It's so that's like halfway up his head. I don't even know if he's still has that haircut, no, he did. He did. He just looks a little bit older and maybe put on a little bit of weight, but it's fine that all happens when you get a little bit older. Also come other stories coming out of Italy, both Milan clubs after embarrassingly, giving up to Leeds last week to drop some very valuable points. They totally redeem themselves from the dumber. Dumber. Quote inter went to bologna without captain Marlow Cardi who was hurt and they want three zero, which included the game winner by the ninja Raja Nainggolan who scored on his debut for the club because guys instead that's what he does. And then AC Milan hosted Roma which is gonna be a tough one, and they got a ninety. Fifth minute winner from their supersub Patrick trona to get a huge to win in front of their faithful supporters at the San Siro. That was that was a big one. And the Napoli was the other big story. I thought coming out of Italy. They lost their three zero. Yeah. By. Exactly indicative of the game. I will say that. Okay, that's fair. But what was interesting is that Napoli's been down in every every game. So in their first game of the season, they were down one zero to lots came back in one to one and the second game of the season. They were down two goals. AC Milan that came back one, three, two. And in this game they were down three zero Sampdoria and they couldn't score. Four goals does like that was it was done and Sampdoria won the cool part about this. A fun fact that I think everybody will enjoy first time Sampdoria's beat Napoli in eight years. How about that? Well, the other fun fact this the Fabio quickly Orell ago by the way which unbelievable on believable, unreal. Just if you got a weekend like an entire weekend of just sitting at home, wanting to spank your.

"Makes a difference and it keeps the dream alive for a lot of players that could make significant impact and somebody who was a late bloomer who didn't add to go didn't get drafted an emmy last played in these leagues and then got an emmy last and had to fight my way into the national team playing world cup those lower leagues in that they are so important so i if you even if you have an ms cup go support them as well i mean it it's an important part of it and you might not agree with the business structure you might not agree with how the games developing in this country but they're still needs to be an effort towards supporting the players in the process and so i really cruise you to do that and then as an american as we tend to do we all support like four different in different countries so i played for sporting kansas city for most of my career so there my number one mls team and then i support newcastle in england and then because i do the soup stuff to actually behooves me to choose other clubs so i love atlantico ridden spain they really actually speak to me as a person they represent my plane style as a hard worker that just fought for everything and that's letsie barcelona super talented real madrid by all their players even though they're super talented as well you know everybody's got their philosophies and styles and you just there's a club out there that speaks to you so i encourage you to support local get behind your local teams whether no matter what division they are in this country and then pick a team or two that are across get to know their their team a little bit and i think you're gonna have a blast because when you watch a game on twitter whatever there's always thousands of other people watching the same game and you get tapped into this community that is unlike anything else and you probably gonna taste of it during the world cup so i go highly encourage you to go find a team sport somebody and then there's also and i will do a little plug for for the the blogs that i do i'm focused mainly during the season on epl and champions league with i touch on lalita and boom slogan siri is well just because you know there's great soccer everywhere don't want to just limit it but we'll have a a a guide to picking pl club team i do it every year right before the season starts week week or two before as you said you know don't just pick a team for one reason or two reasons you know just give it let it let it grow organically within your you know there's no need to jump in and pick a team just i love i love you i love it you do that by the way i think it's really important so i encouraged people your app are still sam is that what it is on twitter and i imagine me conrad so if you wanna reach out to us tell us what team you support in any other sport and we'll find a club from around the world that is like minded to that you know if you support the packers we'll figure out a club of that that has a lot of history that's what a lot of championships in the past but hasn't done it recently maybe that's liverpool for you know what i mean so there's a lot of different ways that we can find a comparison for for the sports team that you currently support so just to reach out i think we would love to have that do that exercise guys make that happen absolutely so the next few weeks they'll be they'll be for talk that'd be mls and then the ep l and and bundesliga and everything champions league will in europe elite you know gets marshall fans out there should give them a shout out so know there's there's all sorts of it's a complicated ecosystem of soccer and you know it isn't it isn't it is it once you get tapped in once you realized okay they have a league okay like league anywhere else they played most of them play thirty eight games and the best team after thirty games the champion all right i think i can understand that even if you didn't graduate high school i think you can still understand that concept and then there's some outside tournaments that you qualified for from.

"Be there beecher really sick yeah i mean he can play other people laughing nono critical took of us level i got here you guys but the future right for some of these players i think mexican federation has done a lot of good things i mean they hit the round of sixteen for seven straight world cups and that's that's huge we would we would kill for that i think us soccer veteran to have that kind of consistency to get out of the group stages every single time where in the world cup obviously you get tired of that understand that as well but i don't know is it reason to fire him i don't think any coach should have a world cup cycle for more than four years so he should be out the door anyway in my opinion but i thought he did a lot of stuff i thought a lot of good stuff a lot of positive things in and made mexico maybe a little bit more tactical than they've ever been in the past and they think it's something to build off of now it's just a matter of whether they want to build off with him or with somebody else the question is is that somebody else now i know the guy that coach lahar is and argentinian named matisse almeida he got fired so i think he could be a good choice i would take it to the us to his name out there but it's i don't know who else is out there that could maybe match soya didn't in this reputation when you bring that up because that's the big question than new us men's national team coach who's going to be was going to be a lot of people were saying that it's going to be a surreal at least a few months ago and whether he boosted his credentials or hurt them with their world cup form i don't know but it'll be interesting to see how the mr side piece wife dynamic whether that has an impact on yeah i would be interested if the us would even look at them now because of that often transgression so there's certain contingent within the us soccer twitter world that would not be too happy about that right and understandably right so i don't know if it hurts her job but it almost jobs more i think that's kind of how i would see it so it'll be interesting but i do think would be a choice the us should look at i think is terrific coach and just kind of cheese but sometimes things run their course yeah if if arson says no then maybe he'll be a second no bangor out i'm already bangor out sounds good well the game itself is going to be the final on sunday is going to be a great game especially for soccer nerds but it should it should be a good game a high quality match regardless so definitely tune in i will be excited out of my brain and then we've got a few months of this weeks of sitting around you know thankfully molest titus over a little bit maybe some transfer new transfer news a lot of action also game just jumped up ten spots because cristiano renaldo is going to august second so check that out as well running in we got chickfila what else could you want what i don't know well so great game jimmy always a pleasure thanks very much for joining us and listening to care as you them token steve clean it <music> <music> maybe sweat dren

"Yeah guess anymore this dame but end hazard looked like he was playing really really well for the first thirty minutes of that game against france he was gonna give drennan ingestion of choose yeah so he could be a guy maybe killing baba who they voted with before he left for monica pse so you know money's gonna talk obviously she's holding the few those cards since they are in imbaba i think what else is interesting and what i thought was good business by madrid was that they sold him for higher price than the bottom and he's thirty three years old i mean he i think we'll go down as the highest paid player or the high transfer beaver person over thirty years old i don't think anybody else is gonna touch that unless vesey decides to move which i think he'll end up being a one guy but i don't know i think that's incredible incredible business by madrid yeah nobody's really talking about zenit ings done i mean he left read up the season ended he knew that he went out on top restrictions drove easy drop the mic didn't want to have a head bug moment as a coach apparently and got out of the good time and maybe rinaldo sense that things we're gonna be shifting his well into a new coach didn't wanna do it again and really wanted to pick where he ended up and then had a little bit more control and say over what was happening and he did to take continue on that the you know you've as being appropriate landing spot because their their team that has been on the cusp of winning champions league for a decade they've won they want syria i think seven times a row now so it's not like this is not about winning syria for you this is about right winning champions league they've been they've been second i think twice in the last four years kind of like ethnical madrid let go madrid who've been second as well twice five years so it's sort of funny that these two teams are like always bridesmaids never the bride but now you've as gone out and like got a highpowered job new job and maybe a degree i t maybe maybe some new lips new boobs really looking to move on up so they need that one difference maker and you know there are few bigger difference makers on planet earth than than rinaldo there's no question i mean it's easy to take shots at the guy at i do on occasion just like you do there's no question his work ethic i mean the guy is selfmade i think that's what difference who seems to be blessed with a salad a little bit that's the doesn't work hard they work hard in different ways that i think all those top professional i think what he does is his professionalism rubs off on other guys and he holds itself to a high standard so that gives him in his mind the right to everybody else to that same standard whether that's good or bad it seems to elevate the players players around him so when you look at players maybe need that kicking they ask we're talking about politics inventors who plays well in syria but still hasn't taken that big jump to superstar status especially against argentina national right you still still has to do a few more things to really submit himself as a starter for club and country and playing with rinaldo and getting to see his habits discipline to be able to execute at a high level and also daft is game go look back at renaldo highlights and ten years ago the guy was flying all over the place taking people on picking up the ball midfield running the people just like us but he had to adapt his game he slowed down his body slowdown and he's still still has affected and maybe even a better finish than he ever wasn't any point this career.

"Be team wins again yes it's one of those thirty second preview will expand upon that and just a little bit it's it's one of those soccer nerds wet dreams you know the midfield matchup exactly exactly we'll get to that so we'll we'll move onto croatia england which croatia ended up pulling out to the worn inex time for my had you jump in first for france and belgium's i'll give you the real quick view on my end for this up look it was it was a tale of two halves and not necessarily a first half a second half of i sixty minutes and a second sixty minutes where england looked like they were the dominant team for the first sixty minutes and they got the goal within a few minutes from trippy on a really nice free kick and everybody's like too early to early and in you know the narrative will be too early to early but really it wasn't because they they continued to dominate the game for the next at fifty fifty five minutes and they just didn't get that second goal there was that there was that moment where cain had two shots on goal super sich got to saves that we're actually really nice the first one obviously was nice save everybody saw the second one looked like it was just cain flowing up and missing an open net but really if you go back and look at the replay sewage got a last ditch foot on the ball and knocked it against the post so to rate saves and that looking in in hindsight being twenty twenty that was that was the turning point if any england gone up two goals you know who knows what happens but as it turns out croatia in the second sixty minutes which doesn't make any sense because they're coming off two straight one hundred twenty minute performances where they ended up winning and penalties and they were the fresher team in the second sixty minutes which doesn't make any sense but they came out and just bossed the midfield you know they took over motoric being amazing amazing game second after the game anyway and they were just the better team for the sixty minutes in england was on its heels they didn't have an answer for the midfield and you know southgate look like you didn't have any answers and put the guys on the bench i'm not sure where where he should have gone so you know croatia was the better team and they ended up pulled out the win yeah it's a funny game i think as he said earlier and you're right you have to finish off your opportunities if you're playing a team of any type of quality and you let them hang around as much as england did didn't finish off that second goal like eric the opportunities almost like he felt like he was off sides didn't give it that concentration that he needed to stay at the back of the net and obviously teach you in any sport follow through on any planes that you hear the whistle and it's it seemed like he just relaxed or dot a little loose with that as opposed to just making sure that the back of dad and as said for making two incredible saves but yeah you gotta you gotta swat it when you have you know when you have somebody's neck on your foot you gotta step down and i thought england has kept leading crucial periphery came second say twice right there croatia brief and they on the way into the game in once they got that goal from para sich it just gave him the spark of belief like hey there's only fifteen minutes left why don't we go out and try to win it you know and.

"A few weeks they're when they're running pass panama to nizhny england japan and then especially brazil you know he was like everybody's like oh well you know what maybe wrong brought bernard with martinez but hillbilly got coached against to say to other points one because thomas mooney was out he's the right back belgium's yes he's the only guy that really can carry the ball into space and do it well and consistently place for ps g he without due to yellow card accumulation and i thought that changed the complexion of it because he had been in that would have pushed france a little bit deeper potentially and made them have to shift a little bit more defensively whereas because belgians back three are good ball playing players i think started a dembele from spurs yep and chadli filleting those three guys though have their values and i think there's special players in their own right aren't the guys that are gonna get you in and out of tight spaces so again i think the shop to the good job there in coaching the second part of that is fellini was amazing against japan because because he came on as a super sub because he changed the complexion of the game he changed the urgency in the pace and they started to play more direct and i think that ultimately led to them scoring the three goal to they needed to come back and beat japan now when you start a flaming who you bring it off the bench brought up a chorale replace letting madrid replacing china now but he played a longtime letty and then you have these firms who killed it for napoli you know those two guys are very similar to the other attacking players on the field and if the spaces are crunch they're just going to run into each other and there's no that no element of surprise anymore and i thought seleny was kind of getting into the way the cockpit pretty quiet game but he didn't have too much face and also martinez put him out wide left against brazil so it allowed cocu run at players a little bit more as opposed to getting kicked up his ass the whole time of the centrebacks like he did in this one against france so i thought it was a couple couple choices that martinez had that he thought we're gonna work out but he wasn't prepared for the counter of france and yeah maybe it was a little bit negative but he just got out coach didn't have any solutions and then at the end of the downs era of so you know all the people that say anti football negative soccer whatever you just have to beat those seams.

"In a position to protect the back four and when you change a guy out in the middle of the field it's just gonna change the flow of the team and all of a sudden the spots the deli was protecting eighty minutes are now different because dire either can't cover that ground or is it just it just isn't moving the same way it's a different player i think that made a big difference now concurrently columbia was like we got ten minutes laughs we need to bomb four we need to start taking more risk and i think there was a bit of that going on at the same time so i don't know if this is all on dire or south gate or whatever but but this is just circumstantial but i don't think it's a coincidence that that that happened and and so i think that the staff has to be wary of that it's one thing to change your guys out wide you know our guy top but if you change guy the middle of midfield if you change centreback during the game it it's going to change the complexion of your team and gaps are gonna open up that weren't open before and that's going to hurt to give american fans an example of this so back in two thousand fourteen world cup we started kyle beckerman as defensive midfielder for all three group stage games and then in the round of sixteen against belgium we take out beckham it and put in jeff kaman now i think jeff cairns a fantastic player but beckham and is defense defense i he's all about protecting the back for moving the ball around getting out of speak quick cameras out the same type of player he likes to get a little bit forward he likes to be more box to box he's got different ideas about how to play the game and then we got exposed we just got absolutely slaughtered a back forgot expose give up more shots than any team in world cup history and i think a lot of that is attributed to taking out a player in the middle of midfield where the centrebacks were used to having a certain guy in front of them who protected the passing lanes in different ways and then you bring on cameron who i get i think is bad tastic player but just not gonna protect at the same way because he's thinking a little bit more attack i than than beckham it was and i just think that's an example of you bring take daily i'll e now no matter what even if he's more attacking than dire he was still doing defensive work a little bit different and i actually threw off the team a little bit so i just in general when you watch that type of stuff that's why i was worried about kassim eero sure furniture dino is coming in but he's a different player than casamayor so it's going to take a little bit to find that rhythm no matter how good these guys are just takes a little bit so who do you who you think's gonna come out of this i think england will take it i think they're going to do the business they'll figure it out they've been good on setpieces probably get a penalty in their favor again or something but but sweden is going to be tough man i i could see this going to penalties again and then from there it's a coin flip but but i think england somehow figure out a way to do it they just feel like a team of destiny so i'm not going to jump off their author bandwagon just yet it's soon as soon as you actually start thinking a chance that's the absolute kisa death they're going to happen that's true that's maybe i'm jinxing maybe i'm thinking yeah i mean it's weird how many times here kane has gotten tackled in the box this world cup people just can't keep their hands off him i mean he's a beautiful man i would love to rub up on them too but people do that in this world cup with the a r and refs like clearly looking forward it's just crazy it happened getting school yeah i do i think england wins this in regulation i think though i think they they may run into troubles at some point i think they're going to be better than sweden sweden is a.

"Next two so i kind of get that strategy even though i went pretty hot on the manager to start i since apologize and in the south softened my stance yeah i don't i don't understand that mentality yeah it's it's weird crozier's got a lot of stuff going on the scene like dejean love rin and lucan motoric their boasts in legal trouble the moment and they get the hold federations all screwed up i mean it just seems like a there's problems behind the scenes i'm wondering if maybe this suggests there might be more turmoil than than we know i guess this one of those things where you probably not going to find out for people so vr is next one we harry something that everybody's talking about again at least on twitter what are your thoughts are you are you pro or against the the use of the vr in world cup here no i think it's good i think it helps hold the referees accountable for their decisions that's one one side of things and then also you know especially the goal line technology and to verify maybe what the referee saw all that stuff that's really good i think where it gets gray is how far do we let the bar slippers absolutely yeah it's people wanted to called on quarter kicks for listen everybody gets tackled onset pieces there's always some grabbing whatever if you wanted it to be like that they'd be stopping the game every two minutes just look at the vr so then you'd have an nfl game on your hands and i don't think any soccer fans out really want that so it's i think it should be maybe designated for and i know they try to designate it as goal scoring opportunities or whatever it may be even that gets slippery because that's all subjective too everythi like goalscoring opportunities quote unquote and then like the move onto clear in obvious fouls or the only thing that actually they're going to look at it's just i am i'm against it for handball it's tough it's nuanced you can say fuck vr it sucks blah blah blah and i say that but i actually just mean that for subjective calls like handballs fouls whereas for things like off size i'm all for it going technology absolutely brilliant it's the handballs and fouls that i just can't get behind because even after they go to vr look at the france penalty so there's been three penalties at least three penalties given after var in the world cup there was france peru and sweden and i was okay with them but france was not okay with mind the france and that totally understandable and that's my point is that problem is that to people who you and me we don't really have anything we have no bias i didn't i actually had france ed money on france i was by in the other direction i thought it was not a penalty that's always going to be so what's funny is on france one particular australian guy does get a touch right and if if greece mon didn't touch the ball after that the no one hundred percent that shouldn't have been a penalty but on like he touches it into the path of greece london touches it and still maybe has a chance to make a play on the ball and then he clips his heel and i think that that's the second like hit of the brief on that i think well that's what i would call as a penalty yeah i go see i can totally see and understand that my my i agree with everything he said right there it was the fact that he hit it in agrees mon and grease months touch which really wasn't a touch inadvertent touch but here went so far ahead of him he wasn't going to get it there's so much subjective there that it's tough so i'm i've been very outspoken on twitter about what i think about the are and when it shouldn't shouldn't surprising you're not outspoken about anything know it which is weird because yeah well okay so we agree is shit for subject i think i think there are just needs to be a little bit more defined and again that's going to be very difficult and you're not gonna please everybody but i think there might be a middle ground of kind of getting what you say versus slippery slope was what i'm worried about too if up more more cans of worms exactly exactly changes.

"And ronnie of one last eleven straighter predict was not good in january someone not named them will win it's correct avi most allah in less he's definitely he's the only people that could be messy or because they're both still in it would be krizman possibly and neymar and sal okay so one of their teams wins the world cup they will be in the in the driver's receive what about talk to us quickly about argentina the rest of the team are they good enough to help messy and get to the world cup final no i'm not a big fan of the argentina their defense is not not that trump i mean they got otamendi and five zero and the center both of them are air prone these guys are both coming off very good season i have to give them credit i've been down on both of them for a while and they basically made me look like an idiot by playing really well this season but overall i think cheetah you can't change your spots i think it's only a matter of time midfielder good listen this is not a bad team i shouldn't like shit on them too much is really good team i just don't think they got enough to win it what is their ceiling making semi final i would say so they're they're what france wants to be that's they wanna be they want to be they wanna be argentina i mean they would absolutely take argentina okay so they're the clear favorites in this group nigeria is second here talked about nigeria should be the second in the odds okay but nigeria you have listed so we'll talk about nigeria then we'll get to croatia yeah so this plays into a theme that i've i've got going into this a theme a maybe a theory going into this tournament where i last term in some of these teams outside of the top ones neo in germany's the spain's argentina's the brazil's they started to make a little noise last time i think that this is the time when somebody makes a little bit more noise okay so i nigeria being one of the teams that i i like to be one of those teams that is a good value play if you will so i think i think that nigeria has a lot of talent i.

"So he'd al a wire on there you go as you got it might be somewhat close he so he had a goal individual goal he ran two thirds of the goal length of the field against belgium in i don't know when it was eighty eighty six maybe and it looked a lot like the goal of maradonna scored against england which everybody says is actually the best goal ever scored in the world cup yep so point of that being they they go forward and they also get scored on a lot right yes okay this is my over team for you betters all right let's wrap up group as so you have easy uruguay vance easy easy advanced for i'm going to assume based on win the injury was and what they've been saying about salad i don't actually trust they haven't been very specific soldier in basically said he'll be back in three weeks which coincidentally was like one day before they play so i don't actually trust he said he will he'll fight to play game one yeah exactly and so don't love that the love the the communicated you know the body language coming out of there but i'm gonna say they're so lax and soccer with reporting injuries because it is such a beginning sport over there football the reason publicity and hockey you can just he's got a lower body injury anything happen upper body because no gables hockey doesn't really matter football to be so specific because of gambling i figured out that the same soccer i don't think so no that's that's any like there's obviously a number one of the roster's locked a rosters ever locked rosters locked yet twenty men when we go maybe.
