Chuck Woolery says he never thought COVID-19 was a hoax

"Back on July, Twelfth Chuck woolery was trending, which always gets our attention. When we mentioned this name, Chris made the other day we gotTA. What is wordperfect style reaction? So just? In case you don't know. Chuck woolery was the host of the eighties nineties game show love connection. which was sort of scrolling through tinder in a doctor's waiting room? Am I getting? Am I? Get any ambience of that show right? Here's the opening theme of loving. Welcome to world connections. Where old fashioned romance meets, modern technologies taste. Where you hear all the intimate details of a first date. Our parents generation can hear a Beatles song and flash back to their childhood. You and I are Kirsty heard the love. Connection, team. At flashback to. Our Childhood Anyway Chuck woolery has refashioned himself as a rabid right winger on twitter. And this was the tweet to get everybody's attention. The most outrageous lies are the ones about covid nineteen. Everyone is lying the CDC media. Democrats are doctors, not all, but most like you built that in there that we are told to trust I. Think it's all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election? I'm sick of it. It was so conspiratorial David that he got a re tweet from president trump. And then four days later will re tweeted. My son tested positive for the virus and I feel for those suffering, especially for those who have lost loved ones. He then deactivated his Account News as he had tells CNN Chuck Son Fine and a symptomatic. I mean. Does it help the argument that there's no place for right wing voices in Hollywood? The this is the chuck woolery. Is Paragon of right wing voices I mean in Hollywood? I is it because I? It's easy for me to him and say you know. You know if I mean if you go from being Chuck Woolery, who in our minds is relatively famous to a guy who's like? Doing podcast doing Erie podcast with Rachel. Bruno or a Newt Gingrich I guess there was a was a reasonable and that's a. that's a high point. Then there's not much to really be said, but listen if you are in outspoken voice and Republican. Conservatism and libertarianism and everything else you know. I guess it's a good thing when you're bullshit gets wrong by reality and like a moments time, but it's really sad. That had to happen to sun for him to like what's ad that avenue is Sun Saturday had to happen to his under him to like stand that there is a reality that exists outside of his bowl hat

"The show now continues. The truck, watery situation. There were reports that he was quitting Twitter. And this goes back to Wednesday night, and I was just kind of monitoring to see if he was gonna tweet something else. And now I checked Chuck Woolery, Twitter feed at truck Woolery back in two and two. And it's well it's still there. There's there's no tweets got no tweets. It says cannot A tree tweets of this time on then. There was another message have topped up. But if you go at Chuck Woolery If I do a search, it doesn't come up. But it brings up other people's tweets mentioning at truck Woolery, and then you click on that, and it goes to truck wall or his Twitter feed. But again, there are no tweets that air there and then this message comes up. That the term limits headed again so I can read fortunes. The term you enter, did not bring up any results. Please try again later. So this it seemed the Chuck Woolery did deactivate his Twitter account. But the shell is still there. And of course, we spoke about this earlier in the week with President Trump Retweeting Chuck Woolery because Chuck had tweeted out. That's the most outrageous lies with one's about covert. 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC media Democrats are doctors. Not all but most. Now we're told to trust. I think it's all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I'm sick of it, and then it was the next day or the next couple of days. That Woolery then admitted that his son Tested positive for Corona virus for covert 19 And then you have truck Woolery that followed up with another tweet that said to further clarify an ad perspective. Covert 19 is real, and it is here. My son tested positive for the virus and I feel Four of those. This must have been a little misprint. But he says that he feels for those suffering, and especially for those that have lost loved ones. And now Chuck Woolery Sze Twitter account appears to be Deactivated. And allegedly a spokesperson for Chuck Woolery. Said that Chuck son is fine. He's asymptomatic. And that will ary believe he's 79 years old Chuck Woolery is 79. The report is from a spokesperson for Chuck Woolery that he just wants a break from Social media. You know what? Don't we all maybe wanna break from social media but were too afraid to walk away from it. I don't particularly like social media, folks. I really don't. I never have. I've understood the importance of social media interaction with trying to grow an audience build a profile. Build a platform. I get it. What do I like? Social media. I don't I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it Jumping up and down like Fred Gwynne is Herman Munster back in the day. Yeah, not a fan. But Chuck is all for now and every one of his tweets. Has been deleted. So it looks like he's the activator done something to his account. Although the shell still pops up in certain searches on Twitter, 808 01 89 99 number here on ship 808 01 89 90 90 is the quick mention here, and I have a Florida story. What this could be happening in any number of states around the country. So I want you to be extra alert, but also If there are legitimate contact tracers that are out there and they are They're not all scams and rackets. But it's a confusing time and listen with all the spam calls and all the telemarketers. All the crap all of the Hello. This is Apple Service. You know, you get all this this crap all this junk. Out there. And the latest now on, especially in Florida, is that the the Florida Department of Health The F DOE or as Homer Simpson would say the Florida F K Yeah Department of Health Deal H. The Department of Health is anyway. There are legitimate contact tracing calls that are being made that people think are scams now. There are scamsters out there as well. But the bulk of these contact tracing calls or really, you just listen. If somebody calls you And wants your social Security number and banking information. Obviously it don't give it to them. The contact Tracer is not gonna want that. What the issue is. There are people that are getting phone calls, and I'll tell you in Florida the number is 833917 28 80 833917 to 880 and some people are getting that number from a legitimate contact tracing organization working for the state of Florida. But for some people, it's coming up is a spam call. That 800 number the 833 And of course that's the 800 number. It's like 800. It's like 877888 866855833 is one of the newer off the 800 exchanges because we ran out of normal eight other numbers a while ago. So people are getting this 83397280 and on some cell phones, it's coming up his spam or possible, say, as spam spam to think and that just confused. But though that's legit. That is an actual number. It is a correct number. You just anyone that's going to look for your social security number or your banking information that's obviously going to be a racket. But if folks are asking for certain information About your testing and where you were tested. There's there's a lot of legitimate questions that are being asked. So people are saying that this number which is legit might be coming up as a spam call, and that clearly puts people off kilter off balance. And they think that maybe it is a scam. But for whatever reason, this number I mentioned It's a company called Maximus Management. And the Florida Department of Health. They did hire this company, Maximus. To assist with the contact tracing With those that have tested positive for covert 19..

"Will be coming back to the Mo Kelly show this Saturday at 6 p.m. So if you heard Roger Stone recently, sentence commuted, Roger Stone of you recently have been watching him been hearing about what's been going on, or you heard my conversation with him when he was just arrested last year. Just confirmed Roger Stone will be coming on the Mo Kelly Show and Kay if I am 6 40 Saturday at six PM so such a counters set your dials. All of that such a browsers. I have no idea what's gonna happen, just like last time, so be sure to tune in. And I'll remind you, we go along. But to be serious for a moment. I was talking in the last second with Chris and Carlo talking about covert 19 and the things that we're losing, and I think something else that we're losing. In a metaphorical sense. We're losing sight of What's most important, and although I may be personally sad, and I mean that seriously and sincerely sad About losing the Rose Parade sad about in a bridge Lakers basketball season or I may be sad that we won't get to see USC versus Alabama in college football. I may be sad about those things, but I'm never going to lose sight of what's most important. And it's the people. I'm talking about you. I'm talking about your family members. I'm talking about your friends. I'm talking about people in a general sense. That's the only thing I care about. I don't care about any of the supposed politics of it all. Chuck Woolery. Someone I think is kind of funny for all sorts of reasons. He's been very, um, vocal in his support of the president have no problem with that. He's been vocal ever since the president has been elected and sense and in recent days he's been very vocal about covert 19. They're two tweets that I want to read to you that he posted in the past couple of days. And I want to read one and respond and read the next in response. I want you to think about people first. This first tweet from Chuck Woolery. You might have heard about it. Said. The phone is quote. The most outrageous lies are the ones about Cove in 19. Everyone is lying to CDC media Democrats, our doctors Not all but most. That we are told to trust. I think it's all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back. Which is about the election. I'm sick of it. Okay, Let me first stop there. I can't speak for everyone, but I think it's a sad state of affairs for whatever reason, if we as Americans Have lost faith. In our government. When I say our government is not a person, it's the whole apparatus. Our government doesn't actually change from president to president. I would like to believe that the CDC knows more about a disease and pandemic and has our best interests as a nation at heart, more so than our politicians. CTC is going to remain politicians come and go. I would hope that we can look at this issue in terms of just Americans red, white and blue. A supposed to politics, red or blue? I would hope We haven't lost faith in our doctors. I would hope that we remember That one when a politician hopefully we've chosen to lead us that they're going to act in our best interest. We may not agree with him politically, but we don't have to, or we should necessarily Question their authenticity as Faras wanted to keep people alive. And me personally. Um When I wear a mask. I'm not thinking about the politics. I'm not walking into a store because I'm trying to help out. Democrats were trying to help out Gavin Newsom. I'm not a Democrat. So I'm not wearing it. For that reason I'm not a supporter of Gavin Newsom. So I'm not wearing my mask in support of him or any other political end. When I wear my mask, I'm thinking about my parents. Full stop. I'm thinking about my 80 year old father. And my mother who's a little bit younger. I'm not going to tell her age on the on air. That's why I'm thinking about And in my care for them. I'm also caring for you. I don't want to inadvertently because the masses about the other person is not about you. I don't want to inadvertently Put someone in the hospital. Or make someone cashes disease and die. And even if you don't end up in a hospital, you still could end up with lifelong complications. And here's the second tweet from Chuck Woolery to highlight this point. Remember his first we was talking about the most outrageous lies are the ones about Cove in 19. He's seeing it purely through a political lens. And then the next week the next day, said the following quote to further clarify an ad perspective covert 19 Israel and it is here. My son tested positive for the virus. And I feel for those suffering, and especially for those who have lost loved ones. I wish he would have started with the 2nd 1 and just just regarded the 1st 1 not tweeted the 1st 1 at all, Because when I look at Chuck Woolery, I don't care that he's a conservative. I don't care that he is a big supporter of the of the president. I only care that his son has Coben 19. That's it. That's the only thing I care about, because that is most important for me, and I wish more people saw it this way. I really do. I don't get any type of joy a gratitude that Chuck Woolery might have said something political one day and then the irony kicks him in his ass the next day, and I'm not trying to be funny. I get no joy from that. I get no joy that Wal Mart is going to be. We'll talk about it later. But Wal Mart in Alabama are mandating mask. I mean, I don't look at that through a political lens. I don't think as if the state of Alabama is trying to make the president look bad. I don't think Walmart is trying to make the president look bad. I think if you're looking through this through the lens of it being a health crisis and not a political crisis It's just the right thing to do. Because I care about your parents as I do my.

White House seeks to discredit Dr Fauci in leaked memo

"Has taken the unusual step of attacking a member of its own coronavirus task force by providing a document to several media outlets that contains a list of comments made by Dr Anthony Fauci in an effort to damage his reputation. The News of the document comes as to senior level white. House sources claimed the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has at times being referred to among aids to Donald Trump as doctor, doom and gloom. The document says in part that several white. House officials are concerned about the number of times Dr Found. She has been wrong on things. Things the document goes on to list examples of what the White House views as found. She contradicting himself. One example is a comment made by found she on TV in late February that at this moment there is no need to change anything about what you're doing on a day-to-day basis. However, that was not the full statement found. She made during the interview. Right now, the risk is still low, but this could change found. She also said at the time. On. Friday doctor found. He said that he hadn't seen or spoken to trump in person since the second of June meanwhile yesterday Donald. TRUMP RE tweeted a conspiracy theory from a former game show host chuck woolery, who suggested the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Media Democrats and our doctors are lying about Kovic nineteen in an effort to her trump in November's general election, the president's. President's tweets not only cost down on public safety measures, but are another example of the fracturing relationship between doctor found she and the White, house the pandemic has now killed more than half a million people in just six and a half months and the World Health Organization has said there will be no return to the old normal for the foreseeable future, especially, if preventative measures when neglected.

"K M O Ax. And welcome back to Camel ex after Rush Limbaugh's here, cocking Kelly, I'm sure that's a surprise to many of you out there. Mark Rudin's off today. John Hancock. Yeah, he'll be back tomorrow and enjoying a little much deserved time off. Well, have you been following the news? Michael over the weekend, or were you out enjoying yourself? Oh, no, I was following the news, Are you I'm sure you're speaking to the fact that the president of United States after Ah, really being the lead advocate against masks, talking about the virus being a hoax. Is now trying to blame Dr. Anthony Fauci. Ah, for the spread of the Corona virus, John and I'll tell you what, boy, There's just There's just no place. This man won't go. Well, eh? We've put together a little audio clip Michael look kind of share some of the back and forth. Ups and downs of over the relationship between Donald J. Trump and Anthony s. Found here it is. Well, I think we are in a good place. We're facing a serious problem. Now we're almost up to 40 million. In testing and 40 million people, which is unheard of. This is the thing that is a little bit concerned, you say. Well, we now have 37 million tests have been performed. The question is when you get on the phone and talk to the people in the community, there are still lapses there where the dots are not being connected. If you look at the chart of deaths, deaths so way down, it's a false narrative to take comfort in a lower rate of death. So there you have it. The two of them have not been. Shall we say on the same page for quite some time? And it was over the weekend, Michael that the White House released what was inception, essentially an opposition research file. Claiming that Dr Anthony Fauci has been wrong over and over again. Throughout this process, What you take Well, my take is it's disgusting. I mean, what if this guy doesn't have a political motive? John. He is a doctor who is trying to provide the best information was from what she was, is what he is hired to do. And to see the president of United States going after him as if he's a political figure. Is not only depressing, but it's It's just sickening and sad. What are we doing? Why are we just turning over every aspect of this government and including the stuff that's going to keep us healthy and safe to Donald Trump to go out terrorized people with? Well, here's the thing that puzzles me, and I'm going to look at this strictly from a political standpoint. So if you if you looked at the polls, and there'd been a plethora of poles over the last several weeks Ah, a vast majority of the American public trusts Anthony Fauci. When it comes to talking about the Corona virus, his last numbers I saw were somewhere around 67%. Of the public trusts Anthony Fauci in talking about the Corona virus. The president's numbers on that same question. Commented 27% in the surveys I've seen now look for the people, the millions of people out there who love Donald Trump. I think they're cheering to see him going after Anthony Fauci, and there's plenty of folks, you just look on Social media. There's plenty of folks ripping Anthony Fauci up one side and down the other and have been for quite some time. But just from a political calculus when when you go after the guy who's got 67% of the population thinking he's the guy that's a political mistake, because Donald Trump's base is not going to waver because of this, they're going to support it. They're going to plot it. But you don't win elections with your base on Lee. You've got to appeal to a broader cross section of the public. And I think this thing politically could very well backfire on the president, and I wish he hadn't done it. Right. And if there's you know how many people can we go down the list he's tracked. He's trashed the National Security Advisors. He's trashed the FBI. He's trashed Dr. Fauci. Anybody who has an opinion. Or who has the facts that don't necessarily line up with what Donald Trump thinks is in his best interest. Politically, he goes out and trash ism and I'm with you, John. They're 30% of Americans that Donald Trump literally could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue, and they will support him. There's 30% of Americans who are going to support job dot Biden. Or Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders. Whoever was there, but there are some folks in the mud it mushy middle who in the past did sign up and did go on to the Trump campaign who continue to watch these note norms get trashed off people that we all know and revere whether they be doctors, Security advisers, the FBI. I think this is a really poor strategy. And politically. I don't understand what the president's strategy is up to on most things, because it seems to me he's going after his base and things now look at what he's doing on Fox News. Quit watching Fox News. They're bad. They put out the information on pulling. Don't watch NASCAR. I mean these air the president's voters I don't really understand. What the larger political gain of what the president trying to get here. Well, the other thing that that I noted it was early this morning. I don't know if you got this. You got But that noted virologist. You may be aware Chuck Woolery. To who was the host? Of course, the love connection. Chuck Woolery, who was famous for saying We'll be back in two to Chuck Woolery tweeted last night that he thinks that the CDC is lying to us and that this whole Corona virus thing is a hoax. Lots of people believe that And the president this morning after less than 24 hours after releasing an oppo dump on Anthony Fauci Retweets, the noted Ah, medical scientist Chuck Woolery on saying that the CDC is lying to us now. That is not helpful. A CZ we you know, are in the middle of a pandemic in this country, and you may not think it's a bad is others think it is, But it's bad lot of people are dying out there. Lot of people are infected out there. I know, I know. Personally know a number of people who have had this thing. So I mean, it's a real thing. And I don't believe that the Centers for Disease Control is lying to the American people. And why would you retweet? That particular quote from the noted immunologist Chuck Woolery. Yeah, well, the the end of the day we could sit here and list off Ah, 1000 tweets. That you have to just wonder why the president would do it. Remember when he said there was a book good side. People on both sides of the Charlottesville debate, the horrible things, he said about his own people. I'm going to pick the very best people. Any president who's there. It's got serious issue should be playing Golf. Donald Trump played more golf in three years. Barack Obama played Nate. I mean, it's all petty nonsense. But John, what's crazy to me? Is there's 30% of Americans that it does not matter what this man says He is breaking down conservative norms of Donald Trump's not a conservative. I think that's why we're seeing a lot of these Conservatives come out against the establishment. Conservatives come out against them. But it's just amazing to me to watch and that you know some of our co workers who just go along. With the trump narrative, which violates all the principles that they had been advocating for for the past 3.5 years. There is, however, one truism when it comes to Donald Trump. And that is so many pundits like myself going back to 2015. When he got into the presidential race, Donald Trump would say or do something, and we would say That's invalid, he'd say or do something. We'll never recover from that and time and time and time and time again. He did, and he got elected president of the United States. So as we sit here today, some four months before Election Day Um, you know, you can look at the polls. Things don't look good for Donald Trump. But I like to pronounce that this is over. For him is premature. And this man for whatever reason. Has his plowed through more sludge. Ah, and survived on the other end of it that any politician I have ever seen, and maybe he can do it again. That's wishful thinking..

"I'm daisy hello also here I'm just marveling at the fact that Chuck Woolery three tweeted us though he also has dementia he clearly has dementia because he does not remember the giant fight that we have yeah what like three two three years when he was taking when he was like the lifting all of our staff yeah at for is on site yeah remember that shot and not giving us an ounce of credit you member that's all he doesn't remember that no it's like all these chicks seem cool we like I don't remember having a giant fight with them wow good lord wait lets the fact that if you thought the impeachment was done yeah you're wrong it's not god these he Adam Schiff and now are very very busy opening up a whole bunch more investigation because they have nothing better to do with their time that they had not stopped they cannot stop and they are already lining up new possible charges to and to pursue like impeachment version two point out okay so if they did if if okay they're trying to open up new stuff we're gonna talk about that it but not but here's the thing why didn't they start with us I'm that's a great question yeah I think it's a fantastic question I can not answer that why didn't they include us well because as you recall at the end of last calendar year they were in a big fat hurry yet impeachment done articles done by Christmas so they just sort of grab whatever they could together and the timely nailing **** nilly and then they like had a complete tantrum about the fact that the Senate was also working very quickly to get it out of their hair so it doesn't what's good for that goose is not good for the Gander I guess as they say we're we're talking again this morning on the checks on the right show using Gander okay I see what you're saying now I do I just these people are out of control yeah talk about abuse of power right it's unbelievable do your they're still looking at things like money laundering my god conspiracies mail no I'm not getting these are the things that they are still looking into they're still looking into whether or not trump obstructed justice in the molar pro because even though Muller is like we're done here and they see as a pro rating right I mean they see how well he's doing and they they see how people are like y'all soccer writer for doing that his approval rating is going up and did this yeah this is the thing did that mean are they not paying attention or do they live so hard in their bubble that they just they it's like they want to be blind I don't I think they just don't know how to learn from mistakes like they just keep doing things over and over and expecting a different result yeah what they say about that would be insanity that's right yeah and because there are there are many many Democrats who believe that at least if you know trump was exonerated by the Senate okay fine but they are hoping that maybe at least trump learned something yeah from the entire impeachment to buckle they hope that he at least learned a lesson learned something okay and so yesterday trump was asked did he in fact to learn a lesson in here is his response earlier than the usual got involved with the runners donations that it's just that the Republicans have said they hope you will learn a lesson from what lesson did you learn from it that the Democrats are crooked they've got a lot of good things going and they're vicious that they should know brought impeachment anything I might all numbers are ten.

Can we count on tech to protect the online 2020 Census?

"This census is going digital. It'll be available to complete online instead of just on paper and that's fitting in a world that is so much more connected than even ten years ago but our online lives mean. There are some risks to and disinformation is a really eh one. We're talking about mostly fake news. That's designed to influence people's thinking that's what led to intense criticism of social media platforms after the two thousand sixteen elections and the Census Bureau is warning that false information could affect the number of people who actually take part in the census and that has huge implications for everything from government funding funding to seats. In Congress says Liz woolery with the Center for Democracy and technology. It is very very important. Communities of Color and immigrants are are feeling deeply threatened by the trump administration. Those communities are also more likely to be the subject or targets. Rather of disinformation and then they also may be more likely to believe inaccurate information about the census of course the social media platforms have been implicated in the spread of misinformation particularly around things like elections. What are they doing around the census so all of the major platforms have all made some kind of announcement of facebook for example announced a new policy back in December twenty. Nineteen that their platform will ban posts from misrepresenting when the centers occurs. How it happens. Who can participate. That policy will apply to both content that users post as well as advertising. The big question for me is how do they enforce that policy at a scale of two billion users because things are always just as good as the the moderation system behind them on the exactly for me. This is not a a question of disinformation. It is question of content moderation You know as with hate speech or nudity or other types of content. Disinformation is is just another type of content that these platforms need to be able to identify and respond to. This is an election year. Could any of this be a kind of dry run to see the F.. These types of controls on misinformation could be applied to election campaigns. Absolutely the sentence is really going to give have many platforms and opportunity to see how how resilient their systems are how effective they are to kind of maybe on a smaller scale. See how their approaches to due to disinformation fair Similarly you know like the election This census has actually become fairly politicized following the trump the administration's attempt to add a question about citizenship. Plus you layer on top of that The certain history of the the the US Census Bureau that during World War Two when there was a question about citizenship on the census. The Census Bureau gave the Secret Service names names and addresses of Japanese Americans. Many of whom ended up in internment camps. So kind of layering on You know in an election year with a politicize. The census Certainly means that the stakes are much higher. Liz woolery there with the Center for Democracy and technology. The Census Bureau itself has created a trust and safety task ask force designed to monitor social media and it says respond accordingly now. Awesome related links. Reuters has a special report on the process of outsourcing digitization effort for the Census and what it says are reliability and security concerns concerns will link you to that going digital could make the two thousand twenty centers much more inclusive and efficient says wired but experts. Fear it's also opening coming itself up to new risks. It explains that the process of counting everyone in the. US hasn't really changed much in two hundred and thirty years. The spite a massive growth in population. And I'm the growth of tacking every other part of our lives. That's until now they're going to use satellite images to help math address instead of canvases having to do it on foot. They're going to use these APPS for data collection. The article explains the risks of all of that and what the Census Bureau says it's doing about those risks and the bureau is proud of the tech that it's used used over the years on its own website details the history of automation from PUNCH CARDS TO UNIVAC one. The first modern computer installed by a civilian government agency and even. CD-ROMS remember them. They seem just so modern and efficient. Just a few years ago now useful remind perhaps that tech never stand still.

"Today. No price. Now. No surprise, the prize goes to the prince and the prince rush, you're not a Princess. She's the lady was Megan Markle that fish. She's the Dutchess and their son. What's his name Archie? Yep. Yep. Archie archie? Name king Archie now. He'll never be king. He doesn't even have title seven zero before him, right? Yeah. Okay. They chose to which is kind of interesting. They chose to not give him a title. So. Yeah, he'd be accommodate. That's it right normal. Of course. So this is the DJ program where we invent new stories. Sound right? We invent new radio came. Well, we once in a while. And better story, I'll speak for myself. Anyway. Take liberties with certain bits of information, I work with all different kinds of projects in people here in this program and all my life, and I find it interesting to deal with everybody getting things done is a considerable challenge. Sometimes, but it's fun. I really find it. Good to have my brain wrapped around all the things that I'm doing and then sort of the end of the day. I step back and think and go go been accomplished today, especially this time of year when there's so much activity on the farm and the radio businesses buzzing kind of cool so now with clarity Jennifer horn starts out in this hour with an important bit of news. And also, we lighten things a little bit and some good entertainment news. How about yes, let's do that. All right. Well, Pat, say Jack is making news. He has made game show history. His wheel of fortune career is thirty five years and counting thirty five years. One hundred ninety eight days, and he was just awarded the Guinness world record for the longest career as a game show host of the same show that happened on Wednesday of this week. He said, thank you very much. He received the honour before he turned to his co host Vanna white and said, I couldn't have done it without you Vanna, white sixty two Pat stay Jack is seventy two. They look fantastic. They seventy two no way is. Oh my gosh. He looks amazing. Great. He said, it's a great honor. We'll try to do some more. All of the shows. Whatever he looks great. And he said we'll get another line to. He's a very nice, man. He started wheel of fortune in one thousand nine hundred he started the he made his debut on wheel of fortune in one thousand nine hundred one took over from Chuck Woolery. Who is the original host of the show now has the longest career as a game show host on the same show. So congratulations to Pat, save a weather man in Washington with Merv Griffin. Saw him radio guy. Right. Who's a radio guys? Well, he owns a radio station in his hometown of Annapolis still, and he had a couple of I think he's still has a couple of other stations here and there, but he started the radio, then he did the weather. He did he started out a lot like, frankly, Willard, Scott, the two of them were contemporaries, but same age and they follow each other working through working up through the ranks. And anyway, Merv Griffin saw him and he was not thrilled with Woolery. For whatever. The reason is host. Remember, the Merv Griffin was created jeopardy and wheel of fortune. They came as a package when they first got started in the seventies. It was Alex. Was not the first host of jeopardy. It was. And I always forget his name. And I worked with a guy came from Saint Louis. I can art Fleming. I always vote for I think about his name. So art Fleming started as the host of jeopardy and Woolery started is the host of wheel of fortune and Merv didn't really like either one of them after they'd been in the seat for awhile. And he was determined to find people that would relate to the audience better. Woolery is a was a professional game show host and he related to the player to the game. But he never really related to. He's very successful game show, but he didn't relate well to the audience. Not like say check say Jack became sort of an. Every man trebek's just had the looks you had the smarts. He had the appropriate. He was for back of all of the hosts that existed in that John had one of the best senses. I say had he's still at it. Even though he's suffering from cancer. And he's old. I think he's seventy eight one of the best senses of timing. And he knew how to you know, it was kind of like Ed McMahon with Johnny. He knew how to say something and look at Johnny for the right response. And that's that's it's something that you don't learn you either have it or you don't have it some people on the radio the same thing. It just is something that you have. And so the skill served both of them well to the point where Merv pretty much gave them a lifetime contract. And so say Jag. I'll betcha that say jackal keep doing this for another ten years and travek will tape it all in. Don't take short amount of time. As a year. They do a five day. He's got to be making good money too. Because it's been syndicated forever. Eighteen million a year plus while their other gig. You know? I mean, whatever stuff they do, but it's a fabulous life, and to think that I could have gone down that road, not necessarily the think I could have been that successful. But I get an offer to do a game show number of years ago. And I didn't take it because I didn't want to be off the farm in the summertime and most of these shows they tape in the spring and the summer to get him out when they're when the studios are. That's another thing that Merv Griffin verve Griffin. And dick log I'm telling you inside stories now, but it's maybe interesting to some folks Merv Griffin and dick Clark were masters of using studios when nobody else use them. So they could get him cheap. Like dick Clark would record. Remember when he and Ed did what does that? What was that show? People are not people are talking but people who come on. Don't leave me hanging here on this idea. What you're talking about? I can't help. This show dick Clark and Ed McMahon did together of people doing crazy stuff food. I can't remember them. Anyway, do the darnedest things. Home videos. No that's still on. No. There was another show that they did. And what dick would do is hire a studio he had that show is on for four years, and they only had one live show in front of an audience. They use that same audience for every single show different shots of the audience. They spent they put the cameras on the audience, and they just moved him around. And that was the only audience they ever had for the show Ed in dick would go into the studio at one two o'clock in the morning and tape a whole season of these got somebody carry will you Google me trying to go up, but I don't have a ton of information to go on. Just practical jokes. Okay. Yup. Yup. Yup. Thank you. And so they would have we spent all this time. And literally, no one cares about right? I don't know. That's true. I think some people that's that's age discrimination. I think it'd probably a lot of people that would remember that anyway. But now that you've put me down move onto something else. Now, arguing here no grievances here. And beside the fact, what will it matter in twenty years, that's sort of a test, by the way that I would like to offer for almost every controversy in our lives personally and publicly like, for example, what's going on with Trump and the Democrats now in twenty years, no one will have even cared about this. It's look back to the stuff twenty years ago. It was thirty years. Well, it was twenty years ago, we invaded Iraq. They really care about that. Now, they only reason George Bush. Yeah. Yeah. It comes up. That's how people decide if you're progressive or not is whether or not you fought the war. That's at least what Bernie and Joe Biden are saying and every once in a while it gets thrown up. Yeah. I guess that's true. All right food for thought. As is our case here on the JV program. It's fifteen after the.

Mitrou douse here. No sign of Sodano. Hey, hey, Mike, somebody we one of the one of the things we were kicking around earlier was this. Russell westbrook. Paul George Donald Jared Dudley. Yes. Woods. It's Russell Westbrook, Paul George. Knicks question thing. I I'm torn on this one and. George. I mean, we've all been even Mason, you know, back in the day would go in these post game press conferences, it's an entertainment league. Okay. They need to do the dance a little bit. But they are showing up. They are living up to their obligation to show up for media. He's got a personal grudge against that one. Do banal Paul George is doing it. How would you George you? I how would you handle it? If you were Adam silver, would you would you get involved with Westbrook and Paul George and what they're doing? Yeah. Because I think it's a slippery slope. I think it just takes one person to do that. I grew forty see kind of permeate a little bit though, Paul George at first talented Z is clearly has shown that he's more of a follower and less of a leader in these situations. Just kind of you look at the totality of his career. So I can see him taking on the personality of way now which thinks because he's really really good guy. And now, Mike here's the hard part. What do you do if you're Adam silver? I said to Mason earlier, you find him the first time, you tell them it doubles the second time, they do it. If they do it a third time you send them for a game. Is that too harsh? I mean, this is. Is a simple human decorum issue, absolutely trickle. If you go on a first date with somebody, and you don't like them, you don't just get up and leave. Could say to Mason, I know some people who would just. That's why God invented coffee dates. I just think especially when you're in this type of a role where people on the outside or judging the league based in part on these types of things, right? What are guys like? And that's what all of these fans. Wanna know? What did it George get this when you're traveling all these markets? What are these guys like when they see someone just being a jerk? And I don't care whatever the reason is just raise above that. And answer the question. So you know, that one beat runner writer, very he's columnist, right? Yeah. I have been there when he's been scrim seems professional ears professional to me. Well, yes, this is the same John. I remember when I talk about this one a lot when kind of the Spurs originally started to rest players and just not care what the rest of the league thought about it. We always went against that. Because it's you're not just the Spurs. You're part of the NBA, and it's an entertainment entertainment product. You can't you don't just do. What's best for you? And I'd say the same thing about the thunder. Remember, I guess it was grantland at the time. I think it was before the ring or maybe it was the ringer. They did the big piece on Oklahoma City. And oh, yeah. And basically how they were there insulated. They're insulated. They're shielding the only professional sports franchise in the state, Mike, you know, this. They all stand until they score a basket. It's almost like going to college game. And it's a great atmosphere for the players. But I think part of this all of this off court stuff. I have the same type of concerns about Westbrook's game on the show. Here's I could give you a different perspective. I know that dealing with them on a daily basis can be challenging, but Matt tumble. Son who runs their gray are is great when you're just the person flying in and..
