"Sudden the dog sense danger and he started running around in a back and barking and woodfin had aimed for bubba's left temporal area with the gun, but bob I had turned around in the driver's seat to focus on the dog and see what was going on with the dog and ended up getting shot in the shoulder and the arm instead of his temple. Isn't it amazing? I mean, canines are highly trained in you, but these canines become so I mean, they're so attached to their handler and to the deputy or the police officer who works out. For them to sense danger like that. That's the stuff that's always amazing to me about these really highly trained canines is what they're really capable of. Yeah, so that dog did save his life. And he was able to get her on the radio and say he was shot and, you know, give a description. This all happened on October 24th, right? This all happened in one night, the three killings, and then the shooting of the deputy. It was very late night. I don't know if it was exactly October 24th, 1984 when they shot bob when he shot bubba on just past midnight. But it was in that same time frame. The initial shootings were all pretty close in time together. Oh, yeah. It was like it was like a killing spree. And just to backtrack a little bit, this whole bizarre thing had started when woodfin and his wife's apartment in Hanover county in Ashland was hit with the search warrant woodfin was arrested for drugs porn weapons, the wily was attempting to get away from him and out of the marriage at the time. Anyway, after he was released on bail, which was further down the road, then his wife, I believe his wife cooperated with the police and said, look, protect me, help me, you know. Got to go off the grid. I'm terrified. I want out of this marriage. This is not who I thought I was marrying. And if you had met woodfin before any of the stuff.

"42. It's Alabama's Morning news. I'm JT and joining us now Mayor Randall Woodfin as today's election day in Birmingham. Good morning, Mayor Welcome back then. JT. What's up, sir? And good morning to your audience. I'm glad you're with us. Big day. Today is what? How many people are running for mayor here in Birmingham Last count was like 175 8 candidates ate like 50 11 like $5. I'm displaying. It's only eight total. Polls are open from seven AM to seven PM today. Just really want to encourage people to exercise their right to vote. All right, your biggest concerns if you're elected for a second term on the state of the state's situation in Birmingham in our surrounding communities. The same thing. The same thing. It is now we still we still have the focus on neighborhood of violence Nation, We still have to focus on decreasing gun violence. And investing in our infrastructure as well. Spider Delta variant spreading through not only Birmingham in the entire state of Alabama. You know, there are some people Nathaniel has reached out. He's calling in this morning. Wants to ask you a question. Your, uh, 889105105 is our number. Nathaniel. So good morning. You're on with the mayor. What's on your mind? I was wondering why I hadn't heard anything about, uh The sanctuary city that this current mirror in Birmingham has set up for these illegals. And then the city now makes it to where all employees have to pay in their insurance to allow for gender change, You know, sex operation sex change operations. Um And then you know, there's an ethics complaint on the state level and the federal complaint that's been filed against the mayor. Okay. Alright. Alright With a lot of questions, Jerry may 1st one. Let's talk about the sanctuary City situation. JT. The gentleman just call in his come on Africa paid by one of my opponents, so I'll answer all of his questions. A father, he He's filed some erroneous completely because I wouldn't pay him to work on my campaign. Um, he knows to Birmingham is not a sanctuary city related by employees. Um, He likes to instigate things, so I'll take you next caller that has an actual genuine question. Okay. Do we have any buddy lined up else? Other than that, John Vector for the mayor. Let us know if we get somebody calling in here, so your position with the border situation obviously is a complete nightmare. And more and more people seem to be getting into this country under Biden's administration, and these people are going to be spreading out. So if your legal is coming to our city, what's your position on that? Well, um, I think a couple of ways to answer that question, uh, anything related to the border. I think we know it's not a marriage. I think that's related to the federal government. And I think the federal government is doing everything it can snow different and in your president, President protect our state, our country's borders so I'll continue to listen to what they're offering in form of that protection. As it relates to cities. You know again, there's no rights. They're all that is controlled by the state. So if somebody is illegal in the city of Birmingham, you're you're not going to be like one of these cities like the West Coast Portland, San Francisco That's going to not cooperate with ice and cooperate with what's going on. As far as enforcing our federal laws on a local level. Well, our administration and plan enforces laws the same time. The city of Birmingham is a welcoming city. Um are BP is not going around checking anyone's immigration because that's not our job. Our job is to make sure there's growth in the city economic vitality in the city. All right, Let's talk about the crime in the city here. Obviously, it's a big concern. Not only here in Birmingham, but obviously around the country in some major cities. Uh, what are the efforts going on right now? As far as bringing that down the violence here we've seen every other day We see people in communities going. The violence has to stop. The violence has to stop. What's the chief? I have to say about ways to combat that along with yourself. I think the given. I think you have a national crisis right now. Urban cores across America related to gun violence. I think related to other crimes, Uh, victims of gun violence on the only victims of crime, their second survival rate. Assault burglary tests. And in all those categories city of Birmingham, Messina continued decline, with the exception of gun violence related to gun violence. You've taken over $5000 of guns off our streets over the last Three plus years, but I think it's gonna take a multipronged approach. We're not going to be able to arrest our way out of this. And you can't have an enforcement lands. Only think we have to consider Things around prevention measures, such as conflict resolution long term as well as ranchers, measures to make sure those who were but can rib rehabilitate back into our city limits. And don't do the same thing that got them in state or federal custody in the first place. Job training, etcetera. Right, Right. Alright. Well, Mayor, I appreciate your time this morning. I know you're busy and lots going on with the election in Birmingham today for the mayor and eight candidates. Mayor Randall Woodfin. Thank you for your time this morning. Appreciate you. Good luck. If you have a high tolerance for totally dysfunctional election systems, people would up with it because they seem to think. Oh, well, you know, that's just Election day. It's just like one Tuesday. Every couple of years that everything's a disaster. But no. Eventually it affect your ability to do other things, too. For example. Thanks. I might do that. I might do this at extended length later in the show about the similarities between the Cove ID administration. And the electoral process. But here we have south come south Com Which is part of America's military command, and is responsible for Gitmo in Cuba. For Guantanamo. You remember that used to be a big deal. Lefties were all excited about it, because It's where all the guys who were captured on the battlefield in the G had taken for rest and relaxation on DCAA lead. Shak Mahamed is still there, You know the guy who supposedly pulled off 9 11 was big guy behind the plot of that he's still there 20 years 20 years, and he's waiting for his case to come to trial. And then even if he gets condemned to death, it'll be another 10 years for that, so he will actually be He He will actually be lucky to live to see his day in court colleagues Shak Mahamed, but he will be living. You know why South com says that the cove it 19 vaccines bound for Gitmo this month to be handed out to the wartime detainees. So the perp it the perpetrator of 9 11. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, Yeah, Mr. Certainly. What's your problem? Yeah, Yeah, Absolutely. Mister mister. Sadly, he's identified the issue here. He's like a crackerjack like that is is thirdly. Yeah, exactly. So, in other words, if you wondering why your auntie Mabel can't get a vaccine while she should have pulled off 9 11 like Carly Shak Mahamed because he takes priority the Gitmo detainees take priority over your grandma. Over your aged aren't over. Whatever sick, ailing relative you have with whatever underlying conditions screw them Colleagues, Shak, Mahamed and the other get Bo and jihadists. I mean for a start. Most of them are suicide bombers, so they're eager to die. And maybe they don't want to get the cove it because they were planning on self detonating in Times Square, But they're getting the cove it and this is why, As I said, it's not just the reaction and particularly in New York State, which I want to talk about with the politicize ation of covert vaccines, But this is way beyond politicization. Where actually vaccinating our foreign enemies before our old people. You know, And I'm just saying, I'm just giving. This is a word of advice. If you're like an Isis guy and you're in wrecker, and you're worried because people have been spreading the cove it around, and you're thinking, actually. Now I think about it. The Islamic state's health care system doesn't seem to be that good. And I'm not saying I want to get blue Cross blue shield any of that, But maybe I just like to be captured taken to get Mo get myself shot with the old Cove. It juice and then I'll be able to come back. Take up arms on the battlefield. I'll be fighting fit again, but there but I don't even know if it's like I wouldn't mind betting actually, that Isis runs a better vaccine rollout system. Than these guys do, because that's what it comes down to. Khalid. Shaykh Mohammad is gonna be getting his covert vaccine before you, Auntie Mabel. I've There's a reason for this. They have open air. Jail cells because it's fabulous weather in Cuba, So they're basically the I've been there. I went there just before Ramadan and the guy lining up and doing all the introductions he introduced introduced me to the head. Naval guy, The head Air Force guy, The head army guy, the head marine guy. The head CIA guy on right at the end was the Ramadan pastry chef that they'd flown in to make all the nice pastries for these guys. And they took me to see The cells and the sales are open air they're about is the way nicer than any prison on the American mainland. You get your wafted by these Caribbean breezes, which in the event there is any covert in the air. What's it all around and out to sea? So you're not penned up enclosed, airless with cell mates. They all have their own cells. On colleagues, Shak Mahamed. Who has had a golden run since being picked up. Bye. Ah, the authorities and transferred to Gitmo is now getting as as confirmation of his privileged status in the hierarchy is now going to be getting the old Cove it vaccine before your auntie Mabel does. That is that is that is what it's come to. I always have a line at this point that sometimes the society becomes too stupid to survive. But I'm only when I read that where we're actually vaccinating the guy who pulled off 9 11. Then I don't think the sometimes the society becomes too stupid to survive line. I'm not sure even that quite does it anymore. Back in a moment. Good morning. I mean Gene or Belle Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin hospitalized with Cupid pneumonia.
