"Morning and he he just got back to and he said sorry. You said three and a half hours clearing well over a foot of snow in chicago land. So marcus still no opportunity to visit today and he said there was already ten inches total of about twenty four inches. Marcus said then. He said lake effect made it even worse stuff. You know if you're in if you're in a bad spot. I you know we were in rochester on the weekend to see the baby and get you know that that quarter you get. You might get a little bit of snow but then when the wind starts blowing off the lake you know. Suddenly you know would only be two to four inches. Suddenly turns into eighth of ten. It's it oh. I can. I could think back to i can think back to college Bhakta colgate and i remember more cold than snow. We were just south of. We're just south of hamilton is a twenty five minutes from syracuse. Twenty five minutes from utica and about twenty minutes north of binghamton. I am yeah. I remember terrible snow. I remember. I remember more cold than that snow. That was seventy eight to eighty two But we've got the tina better. Say this right now. Because she's gonna ask me. She's been outside getting rid of the ice. I don't i don't know how she's done. And i took a peek out the window before when we broke and somehow she was able to get the there was at least a half an inch of ice slush That's fallen and i'm looking out at the trees. The trees are all coated with ice south. And i guess snow's coming in behind it so or wherever you are you're you're handling it And in fact A chance to talk to. Papa morales popho. how are you faring. Good morning steve You know you got a probably good six inches of snow here. You're in louisville so we're or managing you know for the people that live in chicago rug. North six inches isn't a lot of for city like little Just most people just don't know what to do with it so we're just hanging tight and waiting for them to get to these roads around here. So that's the part of this that has got to be very tough for people that live in areas that really don't have equipment to deal with it rather it's whether it's plows whether it's You know saying the throwers and and so forth. And so you know that part of it. I remember i remember when i when i worked in charlotte. I can remember a storm that that dropped two inches of ice and snow and it was. It was a panic. I mean people people just couldn't they couldn't deal that they had to wait literally have to wait a day and a half melted. Because that's the worst part of what's going on like a hammer just talked about this morning that it's just not gonna get above freezing like typically would They're under normal circumstances so Best wishes to everybody dealing with papua six or eight minutes today but we're going to visit regularly and Talk about form to win and to give everybody the first introduction. It talk about your introduction.

"Me to give you a narrative that this is a way to do it days mark or something raft rides the one but still have to But you know these days old these sorts of show in the past performance of your handicap the replace the race contributor scott unless they want to take you know an hour and a half to two hours to go through the twenty six races. We have saturday sunday and monday. Racism take notes. I would go the charts. Watch the races i again. I i my suggestion chart you can use i. I'm not disputing one way or the other that you want. You're talking to me. That's what i. I wouldn't start with the chargers i've got three show up the stock. Go back and look. I get a lot of times. There will be two three horses out of the race race. You know so. I like watching races again anyway. And i've seen all the races a couple of times lease so i like this. You know refreshing myself anyway. Election replacement andy. Capp people can find what works best for left. So i'm going to send out the link for those that haven't found the track trends at At the three. You know the the aqueduct belmont and the saratoga On the on the menu on the website Handy beyond beyond what we saw in new york this week How about a little Thought speaking of tracks that that seemed to be aiding horses that were involved at least or or in contact with the with fields Some thoughts about The three year old races in new orleans particularly the risen star performance. I am so it's hard not to be oppressed but those performances. it sure seems like mandalay. Lewis taking big steps forward and you know all three. I rent rent well there but he was good. You know listen. I wasn't a big fan and others. I you starts and buddy was from attica over that last time. But i thought coming out outrace he would have been the one that you are those three I got sucked into the horse. Like every other idiot coming from renton. Alway doesn't want to go that far just made up with that good either but And but you know he even well in the in the lacob. He was wide the hallway and a little bit against the flow and to be a little bit more contested patient here so he was able to get a trip. Settle look good. I think it's been a you know the years are different in that you know. Sometimes there are weekends and some years seems like more than less where every time they will. We get a press. I don't rotten was better because the processor disappointing. Not that fast enough and oppressive the favorites. Don't show up. Whereas i this year you to look what it was california or for florida and new york and and and fairgrounds as well It seems like the horses have had really performed. Even cadavers rivers the only sort of crap. We've seen so far oaklawn because the weather but you know you go through the races and you will california whether it's a concert tour you know we'll see the distance or not and life is good fabric worse They've all delivered well. Those races and florida greatest honor and very well. You know risk taking probably has to improve but lightly ray sourcing he delivered and you know this race fairgrounds and they get sick consistent near where each week the perhaps even worse while you know more. So than risk taking the similar thing he'd have to improve as well but he's also a relatively lightly raced towards to stretch from six for one dollars sixteenth and ran reasonably. Well at least whether i can you know improve enough. That's you know that's what we'll find out in a couple of months. But i don't think it's been a year of disappointed rhapsody. I don't think we're any killers out there. We're seeing the nice of verses that are taking steps forward towards the derby so you know we'll see where they keep going premier. Unfortunately the the weather situation oakland is talk on some of the bigger names You know it's easier to hindsight but you know obviously was a mistake for robert de door not to go to the risen star with keep in mind because now he's pushed back two weeks and probably difficult situation at oakland. Sarah these things happen. you know. You know i mean. I guess it's it's still jackie's warrior and the breeders cup winner name escapes me that we're prisoners and he'd be by but you know now situation where one racist two weeks of jewish to the the rebel after that and you know whether can play havoc as we know at. Fortunately it's you know you take people links that new york. It turns out this year. Oakland which has been so successful. You're obese got very lucky with the weather. Yeah it's unfortunate situation for everybody. There i talked to hammer this morning. with the details and the of the changes on the of the scale. You know that everything laid out over you know over the twenty twenty six twenty seven to twenty eighth specifically. Oh yeah. I got it here whereas it had it on my desk when i said when are they It was at the beginning of the morning too. So where is it can't find it here. We go information here. We go all right actually..

"The there have been a lot of good winners of this race. Flower alley wanted hard spun one it of course animal yup and and then if you go back stephen got even perfect drift thought those star concerto serena's song prairie by you literally t- hansel summer right. Now you're going back to it dirt race. Don't forget yes. Yes yes the one of the recent years forces you know the the the new york bread that like hot brown and feel field pass blended citizen fast and accurate oscar-nominated. No turkey thought. It was just thinking about roy. I mean they can come back to gossip in in twenty days. But i'd be surprised if they make that decision We'll say he would have to really improve this last race to win the gop particularly well know i had saffy joseph earlier and Saffy is thinking about potentially bringing the swail winter that drain the clock To come up. And he's also Ticketed at scenes. The winter from mischievous alex From saturday Carter and i guess they're all on with while the carter and They're i guess they're going to consider of the golden shaheen but Boy with sure seem like the carter makes a lotta sense. Certainly carter always make sense right. That's that's our favorite. What's your favorite eddie. You know you mentioned one thing. We should really touch on from the last from the weekend. The last four days the situation Of how the tracks playing and We got a few days Coming so yeah up going forward surpri. It's unusual for to be as strong bias for three day period but Yeah i think it's a good good weekend for people to do a little homework and walk the races. You know right down that may have exaggerated performances by by being on the radio and you know by some horses that were badly compromised by being wide and Yeah yeah the the visor tricking when you're playing deal with them but much more beneficial in the moving forward than horses on trips great or betting against forces were were aided by the bias and Orces betting on horses that performances were pull out there. They work and one of the things that people are going to go through the the twelfth thirteenth fourteenth fifteenth. One thing that became a particularly on saturday horses winning by you. Know by truck lengths. Those are those are frequently signs of extreme bias. Yes if you look at the figures you know. Over the course of the week you'll see you'll see that reflected in a lot of performances sources. You know running. Ken buyer points or more faster. You would seem reasonable to expect them to run. You know when you see that. It's more help. The kids a compromise or bias. We had a day but he'd been like january first detract the days where it seemed like very very difficult to close and a gain the appearance that it was speed trapped. And i remember that night. I would be The viruses and it didn't seem like any of the winters thought particularly good figures and turns out. there was extreme extremely rare with. I think there was strong the west. We don't see very often. I like to trends every day. And i look at the wind. Not saying i say he's the northeast. You know some sort of northeast southeast. Whatever you know that casually unique you're never see attract westwood's bomani either and And so i was thinking boy. Mustache cited do with that just seems so unusual and you know i think a conclusion from the day like that is not the speed was the helped by back probably because of the weather conditions. No closures being hindered in one of the most successful closed doors. Red second team back of thirteen points faster twitter. That sounds were orbit. So that's you know. Further sort of indication. I think that's one of the good values to speak figures. You know you if you have strong buy you believe. There's a strong bias especially like a goal. Rail figures need to be dramatically. Better you think the rails really strong. You're seeing worse than nice. The rail i don't know they don't come back fast or maybe were more Hindered by making outside. You know so baby it's different kinds of traffic. I this is case with rail was just another. We're very you successful. First seconds even thirds that had spent a good deal of the rail now. Not that often be honest. That was revised it around for three days. But it's when it's a it's a difficult time for awhile. I'm sure would know that bunch of rain last night and this morning some snow possibly thursday right so i imagine we'll have a different racetrack probably evacuate not wanna approach any day with some absolute feelings. There's going to be anything supposed to actually in in helping. And i always like having these these conversations and i frequently refer back to You know the you know the video presentation that that you did for several years when it came to Trips and traps and explaining to people how to take advantage. It's tough enough to win. So when you can find a situation of an extreme. This is to your advantage to do some real work. And i'm gonna if you you print out the charts from these days and you watch the radio. But i'm saying i'm not saying used the charts as as a blueprint so that you can make the notes and you've got a physical record. Not just don't don't try to committed to memory you know there's so many tools at your disposal to make notes these days. You know in files whether it's time for him and you know there's there's so many ways for you to keep track of horses and so that when they run back you're alerted and you've got you know a reference tool And these are at your disposal. How did they. How can they decide. The who was who down the chart. You know who finished behind. Horses are the ones that are candidates to improve or under under fair conditions..

"Doors. Very good on the other hand a sire starts out you know a handful of starters it's random distribution of yours. I mean it hasn't been the worst walter nasty faucet but you know what happens when they suddenly get three horses break. Their maids export run. Suddenly the numbers look a lot different. It's like anything else is right. Then we look at that. And you see a trainers over eleven. Well when he wins for his next nine suddenly the twenty percent for twenty stars. You know it it does me one. Four nine does not all for eleven. That'd be very careful. Any statistic the includes a very small sample size. And especially you're talking about is chop says you know who knows there's plenty of good sires out. There says don't win the for second starts right. No doubt no doubt about it anyway. The way the right now a lot more promising for and if you took a snapshot run happy and include the short period of time. Now you say oh my god. He's the next thing right which you look at the whole picture. So and so. It's interesting to watch. And i think a lot of attention obviously is focused on him and rightfully so. He's you know they've they've asked for a lot of attention. Screw you get it but on the other hand. That doesn't mean that he can't be successful. Sire. it's funny you brought up. I pulled up to jeff ruby. The former spiral and speaking mattress mac the gallery furniture stakes gympie record absolutely but those those two years. I was thinking about new york hero. Step up for him you know. I guess they can wait for The wooded that otherwise shot you know. I mean i think it's up to them to decide if they worst. It's close enough to being competitive. You'll get one chance to try the three year old races and you know the big three road races so i can understand why they would want to try to be optimistic and move forward. I i wondered if a if an interesting alternative for like that annoys new york red but would be race like the The race turt- way. When is when is that That's gotta be coming up in in march I'll i'll call. It's the jet. The robot the jeff jeff ruby. It's got a lot of poice and association with churchill downs and and you know what i'd be breakage name on the synthetic he broke it at turf way so yeah it would have been on the pali so i don't know just thinking of a race that interesting obvious. "Horse as well And it connects back to the center of gravity. Right over the weather's so that's kind of like a piston that that helps bring a horse along when it's being driven from Behind in and when you have a horse in a good rain that collected balanced. They're not as likely to take misstep. You're not going to fast. They're not going to slow Their breathing well. they're relax. It's a happy horse. And that's what this game's about having a happy course well and again not not to get into a rabbit hole on on this topic but to again reiterate why this is important and what the benefits can be and and particularly when horses go from varnay to barnaby or down the road the barn c and d. That what you just talked about. With the balance this is into a conversation about soreness and horses that get off in you know in one of the limbs and are dealing with you know whatever whatever problem might have been triggered this is all a balancing act that starts starts in the mouth and then goes down to the hooves the angle of the hooves and the way horses hitting and essentially it all contributes to soundness and two horse going from being sore going and not operating optimally on the racetrack to feeling good and without aid of of any any other product Just now a horse is feeling better than he had under a different set of controls and a different set of of experience. And you really you can't. You can't stress this enough you know how integral all of this is you know. The total horse management essentially And you know. This is something that i i. Nobody placing a bet is thinking about per se but behind the scenes all of these working parts from from the dentist and the exercise writer and the trainer experimenting with the headgear. Ferrier making decisions about the angles of the hooves and the length of the hooves and all works together It exactly and if you have a horse that out refrain or going to you. Know when they without a frame they can be loading their hind in and throwing their weight behind them.

Good morning. steve how are you. I'm good and I appreciate you doing this. I hate to say that, but it's just I feel bad for the workers honestly, because people will stand outside, especially in Woodberry, and they will because they won't let them inside. And they'll be like 30. People out there waiting for their chicken only orders. Some of them are door dash people, so they're just like screwed. "32 year old Julian Woodberry was proud of her smile and kept a toothbrush in her purse. She lived in the South Side Chicago nursing home for people with mental disabilities. In mid April, staff took her to a nearby hospital to treat a urinary tract infection. Julian tested positive for covert 19. Julian was in the hospital for five days. Her aunt and Guardian Patricia would bury says she talked to Julian and the hospital daily. But on day six when Woodberry hadn't heard from Gillian, she became concerned. She says. She called the hospital and reached a nurse who said Julian was unavailable. The next time would bury heard from the hospital was in the wee hours of the next morning, bringing three o'clock and they say she took a turn for the words. And I live down the street from the hospital was down there in 15 minutes. When Patricia arrived at South Shore Hospital, Gillian had died of covert 19. The family is concerned with the lack of communication by the nursing home and hospital, neither of which agreed to an interview. Nicole Marshall is Julian's cousin and says her hospital care was inadequate. While it technically isn't an issue of race because the majority of families that I end up going there are black and in the minds of some, that means you're disposable. Gillian, who was black, lived in a zip code that had the highest number of Corbett deaths in the city between the months of March in May. Half of them were in for profit nursing homes. But there were other deaths as well. Philip Thomas, who was also black, was an essential worker who lived in the same zip code is Gillian. He took the bus to his job at WalMart. In March. He felt sick and stayed home, says his sister, Angela McMillan. Doctor told him to tell Florentine himself which I'm super upset about that, because my brother was a diabetic. Her brother went to South Shore Hospital. The same one Gillian went to and tested positive for covert 19. A few days later, his heart stopped and he died..

"It came through there both days and the where my client was that I was only about a quarter mile away from a a public area called Woodberry and so eighty eight made a lot of sense to me that the more like the old one hundred and it would be it's very heavily others during Gunn sees Hey there so it just made a lot of sense that they're you know if it's possible who said that area over there it would have brought up my way because after a cross the road there's a hillside it's like a pastor real clean and you'll go right along the fence and then wrap the top if we crossed the fence and that if there is a flat area where the stick in the in law and it was very level and really you walk and so who looked at those pictures and could believe it it day it had arms probably as big as my way a big pot belly huge lakes and I thought just the the backside of it you know didn't see it sets standards the but intent heralded about four inches long it was great and so in that day I went the I've been making pictures of misty cards and I called the department of the treasury sources talked of the game warden there and asked if they had any kind of reports and then he told me no and so I took instead of Victor a copy of it to the people of made the the camera and got a response from them that they said all you must just got too close to the camera and I'd argue that was the a bunch of a bunch of all because I used to stand right from the camera and and take a stick SD card out in deals after pictures squares well so I hung on the picture for a while name was that short of around it shocked in their area there and I always get the for the kids are a whole lot of the young men and I assume the Amish sect of places and I always had a picture near to show them and so some people around town well have you ever published it have you ever shared it publicly what operating if that's in the story where we're looking for this picture what happened was I kept one of my truck and I emailed my best friend one and and so I have on my computer well it got stolen out of a truck my computer got stolen and we're still looking for the the vehicle of my buddies for staff but if if you are if you do a search down in the shocking counting for a quite big foot there's a guy that's got it on I guess on film runner right the true his backyard but you were seen it but they they said there I thank you for calling we're gonna have to move on thanks for share the story would love to see the photo if you can ever find it and will look for the the way big but in Ohio thanks for sharing that with us appreciate it try to get one more call in here let's go to mark in Baltimore have our thank you my telephone call yeah some some provided to the gas storm also a veteran from Maryland and anyway so when I was about ten years older little chair one out there into the into the woods with some friends of mine and we urge you strange yeah yeah owls our courts is just like yeah I like that and the dogs we will with all star important at the same time they had like a sense that something was not right we didn't go any further towards the the sounds because we were very very scared so we ran back but my question would be as or anybody that's ever been like in a situation like that and then they went back and tried to get some hairs of a big order learning hairs that are known to exist the answer is yes but we'll let Shannon go into that yeah definitely and I've actually been on location in Kentucky where we found some interesting hairs but the problem is it has to be collected absolutely perfectly and then once you do send it in or if you you can even afford to you know a lot of times like in David ladies situation it'll come back and it might be something very interesting but it seems like a lot of times the big seeking a justice not one to really accept anything and I think a lot of people are jaded at this point but that's a really good question and also on the dogs dogs can be a fantastic indicator in big fat stories and a lot goes on with dogs prior to a big funny counter yeah I should point out that Jeff and Shannon in this book have stories that are a little little bit more exotic dog man encounters and dire wolf encounters Jeff are you comfortable with having those included with the Sasquatch stories I yeah you know it's there's there's definitely enough people having sightings are that they're not as prevalent as Sasquatch big foot sightings but there are definitely out there there are there are definitely people that think that a dog man fighting is typically just a misidentified Sasquatch but yeah we we you know I think there I think the Christian world can it can be broken up in a lot of other different bipedal animals that are out there so I definitely want understand it feels the same way about having those encounters in the book because the people want the one story that's told the one story you tell in the book about the guy who saw that what looks like in one of these Egyptian gods with the dog had that's a pretty good story Shannon very quickly because we're going to go we're gonna have to take a break right now.

Listen, I commute to work from woodberry. So. My gosh. To wanna talk about your helping Woodbury this morning. Well, no that was yesterday and people I I know I don't wanna tell people about the health giving Woodbury the tennis no courts, they're laughing at me because I called and asked them to put backboards at some of the tennis court. No. So the youth of America, we, okay? And that's not the backboard part. That's what year focusing on its that of all the things you had to do in a day that calling the city park board berry and having a chat with them. But what they should do with their tennis courts was I'm getting married high on your list and getting to I wanted to make sure it had been. So we can set benches, and I wouldn't mind hitting back board for everybody because kids can't learn I'm not talking about this more. Here's what they asked you. If you wanted to contribute for the bench. I think your name should be on the bench for helping the city of Woodbury already gonna put it. Stop. That people happy hump day. Means we're halfway there. Yeah. And it's doing it outside students own thing. Snow win its own thing. That's the way to here's from having people. That's what's happening today out there. But it's we're not supposed to get the two feed that we were originally going to get whatever crazy numbers. So it's all manageable. It's not a bomb cyclone. No. It's not why do we have to name everything? Well, we're having weather whiplash. That's my favorite new term, Paul Douglas fouled, something we're having weather whiplash kind of like that. Yeah. Good. Dave Dahl in. The Dave douse of great line on. I ran into him. Elevator. He is so handsome. He kinda doesn't aide doesn't like the portrait of Dorian gray. You wonder what kind of? Looking. Oh my gosh. He doesn't h the truth. No. And he's still the nicest guy. Yes. Wow. Well, nice guy is going to be on with Kelly Ripa tomorrow morning. Doing a weather reports Patterson. What is he gonna get his staff? Check. Be on staff. Oh, I don't know. It could be like the weekly guy. But it's I mean, how much funny weather can we have in Minnesota? Aren't we kind of to the end of the funny weather time? Yeah. Maybe what we thought. So, but it never ends. Until may if I remember I was camping once on Memorial Day weekend. And it snowed snowed in July once at Burnside to remember, we can never count on anything or anything's gonna happen. What what else do we know about anything? You're here today. Yes. You brought in five hundred thousand peeps. I did we're going to do a little taste test because there are seven flavors in my bag who even know they had a flare besides pieces decorations in the Easter basket. They were just a decoration. They stood up. They had a bright yellow color around the green grass, and it was just decorative decorative. I would never eat one of those things while we're gonna. I know. But I mean. Ice. I am so much money. I've had to use the funny lemur. What is a peop- Creamer? Will you know the? I wouldn't even taste like like a peep. What is the yellow peeps? Tastes like plane. Will there's twenty six calories in one peop-. Well, that's not a bad thing if you were in. Well, how much isn't a marshmallow marshmallow with having look at the rabbit that a meeting. Yeah. Or eating the heads off it the fifth most popular Easter treat. But I don't know what the top four. I'll tell you what they are balls. Balls jelly beans. Starbucks then you have the just the hard chocolate egg to small Hershey's chocolate egg. So that's three then I bet number four is. The maybe peanut butter Cup. That's a newer one. That was an emerging one that could be number one the receives peanut butter Cup. Yeah. People. Love those peanut butter eggs. I know all the Cadbury eg, oh, the candy just specific to east. Yeah. Do you do this still for your child? You hide, you know, many Easter eggs prosekey strikes round the yard. I did when we all were together. But now, she's twenty and lives alone. And towards the end, the plastic eggs were filled with money. Exactly. There was a golden goose. Yeah. I don't know what I'm gonna do this here. She is going to come. We're gonna have dinner on Saturday night. So maybe I'll have funny eggs with funny questions. Funny winning ten here. Oh us the top five. Zags? One. You're right. Yeah. Cream eggs to jelly beans. The big Robin's eggs with. Today can make stick on. Yeah. Chocolate foil eggs. Those are the ones that we talk about. Yeah. Solid chocolate. Eggs, those good dive up on east you ever. Eat the gold bunnies. Are so delicious. I love cheap to buy the really good stuff. I'd buy kids the re sees the mall to balls in the in the jellies. Yeah. I if I'm going to eat Easter candy. It's exceptional. If it's a dove Easter pile dark chocolate won the pieces off of it. I used to remember when I used to remember. But I remember remember. We don't say that right in someone took his task member. This easier sometimes, but I remember taking my kids like Easter. You know, they the giant bunnies. I just take a little piece of chocolate off the back. You know, the the bunny wouldn't have an arm. They were just so they never noticed that stuff. I don't think it's really liked the chocolate bunnies. I think the parents liked the chocolate bunny could hide your, you know, tuck it in the grass of different way. And you could hide the corner that eight or something? Do you? Remember, the eggs that like were filled with filling and had your name on them that you would get at Marshall field's. Yes. Or we'll out. Yeah. Egg. Yes. Yes. Oh my gosh. Yes. Do are two when we come back. Oh, someone was wearing the monkeys hat from. What do we call? That thing. Donnie, the organ grinder monkey oh and television last saying we're going to discuss that's a side point.
