"So i don't think goes wire tokyo or death. Luke thank god. We've seen enough of those trailers. I don't think either of those two games are going to be shown which leaves a pretty big room for like bethesda. So i think you're going to fall out seventy sixty. i'll see. i think you're going to see some mobile game stuff that no one cares about like fallout shelter. And then i think that they're going to end with star field which is supposed to be like an rpg exploration a lot more a lot less combat focused. From what i hear and a lot more kind of like no man's sky but very high death and alike not broken off the start. That's what is supposed to happen out. Tim i want you to get really excited about what he just said right there. Okay because on your new p. c. on your ultrawide that is a must play regardless if you enjoy rpg's or don't that's gonna look gorgeous on on computers areas not a chance in hell that game releases smoothly not a chance in hell. Yeah possesses track. Record's not great with smooth releases. But i think it is going to be a good game. I'm interested to see it. I don't know how much it's going to be my style but we'll see the other things wolfenstein. Three has been rumored to be showing up. That's a big drop. I think another big thing that they could do. is they talk about. Just the elder scrolls six location. Because from what i hear they're they're just They're still figuring out how they're gonna make cities and stuff and that's kind of a big part of the game So i don't think you're gonna like a date or anything but they could tell you where it's going to be which will keep everyone happy for a year I don't think anything else. Mid around elder elder scrolls six at this point like should be some information coming out. Assume but i would think their biggest thing is going to be the other thing that makes me think. Wolfenstein is going to be at this showcase wolfenstein. Three is that team got is the team. That's going to work on indiana jones and they just tease that. So they gotta finish wolfenstein three so they can get the team on indiana jones in the next like two or three years. So if it's not this year it's next year it's wolfenstein threes either coming this year and gonna be announced this year or it's going to be teased this year announce for next year. That's that's bethesda piece. I think xbox showcase and then i bet you a bunch of their games are all going to gain pass think square unix is also lined up for a decent showing with the final fantasy fourteen free. Mo guys out there should be like a fourteen expansion announced We should get sixteen hopefully announced. Then you get partout of final fantasy seven which you know for a lot of busiest. That's massive right..

"I just don't think that's going to happen. I think there's also gives them flexibility in the multiplayer space because it would make make sense that any multiplayer game met but as the makes you want that on every platform that you can possibly have on. But i think the leverage play here is single player experiences coming from fez feza you make that exclusive the xbox and you use that to push people to subscribe game pass. I think that's what we're saying. I also think in the short term you will still see games potentially wolfenstein three as an example. Still show up on playstation because there's probably foreign development. Why would what. What's the point you might as well just go ahead and put it out but along the long term play here is still. They're gonna take the majority of these major single player. Ip's exclusive star field. Absolutely i think elbow scroll six in even something like a fallout five is on the table to be exclusive to xbox. This even opens the debate indiana jones. We could have another spider-man situation here with indiana jones where that does wind up being exclusive to xbox. I'm not saying one hundred percent. This is going to happen clearly. I wasn't completely right with everything that i said but i still can attend you say point. Yeah go ahead for a full stop here. Obviously i'm being facetious doesn't clear up anything. I don't think say i was right about some things wrong about anything we don't know right. I mean you're straight games including some new titles in the future that'll be exclusive. Like what the hell does that mean. Microsoft microsoft love this. We the person i talked about this earlier in on like they're playing us like fiddles they. They know what they're doing. It's they the fact. The announcement was completed in and microsoft now. Owns all of these massive studios major franchises. That's enough news for one day. They'll get more they'll get more news out of the exclusivity announcement. Whatever that is down the road they'll get they'll have another big event will explain where they actually will bring clarity but anyone who thought that they were going to get clarity today because the deal closed microsoft's going to play this out for longer and again i think ultimately i was i ended up ended up being closer to actually happened which is a little a little from column b. I think paris is right in your existing titles that are in development. I think they will continue to support you. Know full out. Seventy six and things like that multi-platform titles but fall out five and things like that may not be who knows how deep development but going forward i believe they are going to bring these these games in house and if you wanna play you gotta get involved in the xbox ecosystem. Sometimes the interesting about that is that doesn't necessarily mean buying an xbox because microsoft strategy now selling you hardware to play. These games on is only is an ever decreasing of their overall strategy. What they're really is in the netflix business. Subscription business of selling game in the paris nine. Mike of by this on the excess in the future. You're going to see you're going to best. I'll walmart or target. Whatever you're going to see the tv's in the electronic section they're gonna have those stickers spotify comes with a netflix. Preloaded comes with disney plus. And you're gonna of green badge says comes with game posner and you're going to be at a stream those games right to your tv. They will probably alternately sell some kind of little stadium. Type dog little. Stick a stream like xbox mini. Call it. Whatever you wanna call plug Tv xbox just once your game pass money they just want you fifteen dollars a month and they wanna make it as easy as possible to get that. That's why the xbox series s exists low price option. That's just the beginning. That's just the end of the wedge of the ways that microsoft wanna make it easy for you to get in get into this so if it does end up being That you've got to play these games somewhere other than the playstation which any is going to be the case it doesn't necessarily mean having to buy a whole other council which some place again some playstation game. We're really like died. In the wool playstation freaks gonna have an xbox in their house but they might pay for the game pasta description to get the games and streaming or whatever in some of the way. This goes back to what i've been saying for so long like it's just the trojan horse move and again that's where i think when we get into brass tacks of this arguing with yesterday so still try to summarize it quickly but of this whole is it exclusive games exclusive really not going to be exclusive. Even if they're not exclusive the trailer that they play that ends with the xbox they start right now for fourteen ninety nine or whatever the ridiculous game pass ultimate deal for that week will be like you're going to see people have to have a real choice and we've told all the time from our audience right of like. Oh man you guys don't fully understand what sixty dollars seventy dollars now means us. Well this is again. Put your money. Where your mouth is you see this for fourteen ninety nine and then you see it with trophies for seventy dollars which one are you gonna go for and then of course the hope is that on xbox aside you do that trial month one time. I just want to play this but as the game. That's getting amazing scores. You do it you get with game. Pass you're playing it on your computer right you're streaming. It's your phone however you're doing it in the future and you go man. That was a lot of fun and there are so many great things here at work so well. Maybe i should look at getting an xbox and you go. Maybe i'll i have an old xbox one. Oh it's not as good. Maybe i'll try this xbox s well. It's only two hundred dollars more to go the acts like that's how they hook you get you in there. I agree it's all about finding ways to onboard you into that ecosystem. Game pies is a phenomenal. It's again we all we joke about it. We often sound like on tv. Infamous all these games one low price that guy but it really is that good. I think you know now that they've got these other. These other kinds of flagship quadruple eight titles to get people to give gain pass a look. Once they've got you in you do shit ton of amazing stuffy like i could arguably never need to buy another sixty dollar game. I'll just i'll just. I'll just have game pause and it's this all you can eat buffet of games and it's you know people are going to stick around paris. I know you were trying to get off the best. We can't see obviously because it was shot. So what were you about to say. But then also i waited. I want you to tell me if you think this march eleven thing is going to happen but for now where are you right now in the conversation. Actually i'll start with the mark levin thing. I think it does happen. Because i think this goes into the two points that i had game passes the key to everything here right and what i think. The march eleven thing is they're gonna now all these legacy but that's the title starting to come. The game pass kind of thing is what this acquisition does is all past present and future but the titles on game pass. they're going to push that subscription service down your throat and tried to continually add value to it. This is a part of that. Plan the second part of this. I wanted to say was to me. This allows data to just be bethesda. They don't have to worry about any of the financial bullshit that happens at the top microsoft worried about all that parting with xbox now allows them which i think is important better. Qa of their titles. They don't have to rush things out to say oh. Dishonored has to be out this holiday and go head to head with uncharted five right now. Let dishonored breathe on its own. Put it out in the spring. Do whatever take your time innovating and making these games all these valuable. Ip's that but there's the has i understand from a gamer standpoint. You want all games exclusive course we all are not be exclusive. I should say we want games to be on every platform but a part of this business right. So of course these games are going to be exclusive but i think overall as gamers but as the has some amazing. Ip's and i think if they just get to worry about the process of making games we all benefit from this ruling truly hope. Star-filled is one of the most amazing games ever made. It might only be on xbox and understand that's gonna upset some people but overall we need more new original. Ap's in this space..

"This is the all about access podcast. So let's see what we have lined up for you today High pk here in this episode. We go gaming. i'll be talking about. The new. xbox adaptive controller. Does it finally bring in an era of accessible gaming that some of us in the disabled community have been waiting for gaming has always been around it has always been among the top five reasons why anyone would consider buying a pc with the advent of gaming consoles like the xbox and playstation. The gaming industry has seen exponential growth over the past three decades. But the question is where does gaming stack up when it comes to accessibility. Well it is a tough question to answer. I've played games over the years. My favourite games have been games like doom and wolfenstein three d from the early ninety s. The key bindings were relatively simple for the most part. But if you couldn't shoot all the bad guy slash demons in a jiffy they would attack you and before you know it. You'd be lying dead in a pool of blood staring at your own corpse over the years. I've died countless such deaths. Every time i dyed my blood pressure would be at a high and then i would restart the game for more of the same blood violence and gore it never really satisfies does it and then came the gaming consoles. I was particularly fascinated by the xbox they had introduced a new kind of controller. The connect this was an accessory that enabled game play using gesture recognition. At that time. I wanted to explore the underlying technology and luckily enough. I got an opportunity to do just that. I wrote a white paper on the connect motion sensor and also worked on a project that aimed to utilize the connect sensor for arguably one of its first non gaming applications but the project couldn't see light of the day owing to other more sinister.

"It's real. And finally, there's a write up on a couple of video game books are released Super Metro, unauthorized game secrets. And the doomed battle. Unauthorized. I like how. So you know you can have an official guide like we're the official guide for whatever for for new game and like some people would lean into the fact like they would mark the fact that they were the unofficial like unapproved. They don't want you to know like. It's just a funny way to get around like not having a license to make a real game guide. Book in a bunch of these books and their black and white and terrible. had to see for Metro. Like this whole series is like super super cheap pulpy You know the bottom of the barrel strategy guide stuff but they absolutely played up the unauthorized stuff and they also did that you know very, very very very legal is right because there's not a single image of Metro on that cover The doom right up his suspicious. It says this game from it software based on its Wolfenstein Three D engine is described as an action oriented slugfest. Why does do need an introduction in nineteen ninety four? I don't get. It doesn't the this person is being written by Sami. Noah do. MS. And that is the. Nineteen ninety-four issue. Of Electronic Games. One. Our twenty questions suggestion. This week.

"And then like the doom, the every sort of the the doom that comes out every year or so is okay, right. But there's no there wasn't like there's been no hit there's been no fortnight in their portfolio. But I think they have so strong community behind those games. This is true. The Dome is there for intern juryly and say they can do this API so much they can even. I mean. So it's it's such a huge. So what a long-term. But but your point about movies, right? Someone brought up. One of the arguments I heard was Disney paid less for marvel I think or no less for Lucas Arts Lucasfilm's. Disney paid less for Lucasfilm's than than Microsoft paid for Zanex here and records they did. Totally Fair comment and maybe. Maybe that I didn't have the value of. True. May maybe they had had milked that one at that point to completion and there was nothing left in it. But no, you're still talking seven and a half billion dollars for a studio that hasn't produced a major hit. I get your point on community. It's a good one and on sort of fan base and and like love of the brands and the ability to to make other things out of it. The one point I brought up guys was Microsoft also has like a really great track record of of doing good with game publishers like minecraft will go down in history as potentially the best acquisition in Microsoft's entire existence right like. And so you I sorta have to believe that internally they have the people and the structure and kind of the resources necessary to do right by game publishers. If that if that resonate now argument wake at all or Microsoft puts out great games like let's be honest like a lot of the stuff they publish is just excellent. They seem to give their developers time to incubate, and you know you might argue that that might be a reason for Bethesda cell is maybe they were feeling the pressure to repeatedly and consistently monetize the IP. They had and it was forcing them to, for example, very quickly progress from fall out with fault three to fall out shelter to fall out forward to fall out seventy six right and as a result of that cadence to maintain revenues. Maybe it was harming piece I. mean the other point about this is like the last four years I don't think have been great for. Bethesda. They're not notable releases over that time period are basically they have these they kick it off with a bang would dishonor to in pray which were both twenty sixteen, twenty, seventeen releases I believe were Great Games Review Wise. I. Don't think commercially they were a big. You know they they weren't a big mover, but they proved that there was a lot of legitimacy there then they. Went into more niche titles like he within, and then they really moved into a tough period around two thousand eighteen where they add fallout seventy-six, which was not well received. They had raged to which was supposed to be a huge launch I. think Overall was ranked as a disappointment writing, and then they add the Wolfenstein sequel youngblood which despite being developed by Arcane. Studios was just. horrendously badly received and their most important recent release has been do maternal, which again I thought was an absolutely brilliant game but I don't think the world on fire. So I think the last four years haven't been so great. But I will say that you don't buy businesses for historic revenues and if you look at their rumored pipeline of what's coming, it's incredibly strong and this might be one of the big reasons for evaluation bumped because supposedly we have Wolfenstein three whenever that's coming out we have elder scrolls six, which is rumored to be deepened development..

"Kind of go through this second wife resurgence. You know look starcraft to write like that. That was huge than it wasn't than come back because it's fundamentally a very, very good game you know and I'm hoping the same thing happens with heroes. It still has a long way to go yet but I I'm still playing it. I'm still enjoying it more than offer Look I can't hide my passion I would love for eat for heroes to come back and it is. It's getting more interest from streamers and other parties. BET IT HAS A. Not. Also, it a long way to go, but it's a start. It's a start. So I'm I'm pumped one my last four game. So that helps a lot. I mean, we'll probably talk about this on the livestream, but you know with doc and trout and some of these big streamers coming back. I half expected one of them at least to say I'm back and the first day back there playing heroes. Know I thought seeing as how big fan the professor himself is of the game that one of them were at would say, no not. Valerie. No. Not Cloud duty warzone. No were playing were playing heroes now that I'm back in the in front of four, hundred, thousand viewers. That would have been a power move and I would have respected that. They actually honestly though very seriously, I had a prediction on the podcast very informal. I thought when some of these guys came back they would have come back I agree with you. They would come back playing a different game they're known for I thought they were GONNA go classic. I actually thought you were going to see shroud rebooted stream with like Wolfenstein three day or like doom original doom. move kind of like A. A seller Tori fanfare to returning but it it does seem to me like for many of these streams who are landing back on platforms some of our news today, they're playing it very safe, right? They're kind of like they're just doing what they're known for which. Is Great I mean I certainly love watching shroud i. like him the most when he's playing the hunt just shout out hunts great game if you played it but. You know it. It does seem like it's more streaming interrupted with the whole mixer thing like it's gone right back to business as usual..

"So much for having me Tim. This is Alexa Hanan. Bestselling author CO founder of initialized capital in early stage venture firm and And read it but today. I'm here to talk about books. I love and shout out to my Buddy Tim. Ferriss for this really great idea and for inviting to talk about it. I have two books that I want to talk about today. And one made a pretty big impact on my life at a pivotal moment. The other I just recently read and have been obsessed obsessed with first masters of Doom by David Kushner now. This book is about the Founding Story of ID SOFTWARE. And if you're like me grew up. Playing Video Games This company invented the Genre of the first person shooter with a game called Wolfenstein Three D and it was pretty special. I played a lot of video games as a kid and most of them were made by it. But this book came into my life really important time because I was. I was a student at the University of Virginia. I was actually on my way to becoming a lawyer. I had majored in history and business and like get history. Major was taking the L. Sat when I walked out I walked out of the L. Sat and I walked into a waffle house because I was hungry. That was it. I just really wanted to waffle and eating that waffle I realized if I CHOSE BREAKFAST OVER THE AL SADD. I probably should not be a lawyer so I went home and I started thinking about what I was going to do with my life since it obviously wasn't the law and this book masters of Doom had recently been recommended to me and I dug in and found myself hearing the story of John Cormac and John Romero the two founders of it and how they built this business eating pizza staying up late writing code and doing something genuinely loved and that somehow manage to be of the game empire really shaped an entire industry to this day. I mean if you're playing college duty your battlefield. You're playing a game. That is a sort of Relative a great great grandson or daughter of Wolfenstein. Three D which was really the first first person shooter and so here were some random dude's not unlike me and my co Founder. Who built something that changed the entire industry and that really crystallized for me? What some really passionate founders. Who could write some code? Could do to change things and this gave me the confidence to say. You know what they can do this. We can do this and I convinced my roommate to start a company with me. That company was called my mobile menu for short. It let people skip lines by ordering food from their phones but it was like two thousand four two thousand five so there were no smartphones and it was a terrible idea was ahead of time and thankfully we got a we got convinced to not pursue that idea by Y combinator and instead started another company called Red So so without a doubt read it would not exist if it weren't for masters of doom well and also waffle house so thank you off allows but I can think of no better place to read masters of doom than your local off. Lasse scenario it changed my life in so many ways and at the time felt so insignificant it was just the right book at the right time. And I've got a chance to actually thank the author For writing it because Really read it would not exist if not for masters of doom. So there you go. It's agreed highly recommended. And especially if you're a Gamer. Because these are the use of the forefathers of everything that that we really know and gaming today the other book I wanted to recommend is one that I actually read pretty recently for the first time or from being really honest with you. I listened to the Audio Book. I still don't really know how you're supposed to describe that if you do. You read an audio book or do you listen to an audio book. I mean it gets you really listen to. It just feels it feels less impressive. When you're like herbs listen to this great audiobook rather than read but anyway consumer books Harvey like the second is why we sleep the new science of sleep and dreams by Matthew Walker and this was something that I had recommended to me so many times and it was. It was funny because I was a new dad at the time. So my daughter. Olympia was born on September. First twenty seventeen and this book must have come out around then or some point that year because I was getting a recommended to me all the time while I was unable to sleep because I had a newborn and I thought this is some delightful. Trolling you know like a lot of things that kind of put it off. Put IT OFF. And then finally check this thing from committing. It's me and so prioritize it in the audible account gave it. Listen and have not been able to stop thinking about it because really thanks to technology we now can really start to understand. This really important process that all living creatures need but we. We've never really been able to understand. We've we've been able to do so much research on so many other things that we humans need to survive except for sleep but thanks to improvements in all kinds of technology brain scanning and whatnot and just years and years of research by a neuro scientists like Matthew Walker. We're now starting to understand. Just what sleep does and wide is so damn valuable and then also how we can better sort of orchestrated in our lives. And I've been who is very fortunate. Assorted Genetically Blessed. And thanks to my mom. I think I've never had any trouble sleeping ever. I can sleep. Knock on wood. You know anywhere right now in the middle of this podcast you said Alexis. I really needed to go go to sleep. I could. I could go and curl up in a nice share or ideally in a nice bed. But I- girl who is chair and be out and probably ten minutes and most nights I would get probably six six hours. Asleep was my goal if I got six thought all right great. Let's do it But I never really understood why any of that was important and in fact during my twenties especially founding read it I'd I'd sleep even less and I almost I think I relished it at the time because in some weird perverse laugh at that was showing that I was more serious than anyone else about my startup Which was dumb in hindsight and really thanks to this book. I've started to understand just how damaging that was and lack of sleep is and just how important it is. Especially if you're trying to do next level type work how important it is to get rest and recovery and it may seem obvious Too you definitely didn't to me but the recovery and rest is as or more important than the work one actually does any. You don't need to look much. Further than even professional athletes who have the most of actively hard and demanding sort of industries because there are winners and losers every day and it's all ranked and you have a fairly level playing field and so we make up the wins and losses in business and the the way we keep score but in sports it's very objective in very clear and so it should have been no surprise to me. That sleep mattered because every one of the greatest athletes talk about the time that they spend recovering as being as important or more so the time they spend at work and so it was a humbling thing be listening to this and in realizing just how dumb I had been for fifteen or so years of my life where I was really almost always sacrificing sleep in the name of whatever else it was I was trying to do. And I you know Aminu parent now and thankfully my daughter's sleeping quite regularly because you'll you'll learn from the buck. It's actually really important in child brain development I'm really trying to prioritize it now. I'm really going out of my way to get to nine hours of sleep every day Almost no matter what And I have found so many subtle improvements in my own life that have come from it and I hope the long term ones will add up to. I know you have to check back in within a few years but the research really is starting to help us understand. Just how important that time is and just how dangerous it is for us to be living our lives on not enough sleep Author talks about everything from drowsy driving to the health impacts like the actual internal damage or causing in the long term with consistent sleep deprivation. And so you know. These are two very different books they are. I think indirectly going to help you build billion dollar companies which is the. That's the business I'm in now is to help. Founders built companies that are even bigger and better than read it and I love that job and so as an investor initialized I get to give a occasional pearls of wisdom to founders and sometimes they come in the form of books and these are two books that I found myself recommending quite a bit over the years and so hopefully they'll be helpful for you to and either way whether you like them or you hate him let me know but those are.

"Including wolfenstein three d and doom since i received my copy of tempest two thousand i have sold all of a sudden cards and the money from said sales. We'll be going into a jag bag c._d.-rom system when it becomes available. I haven't had this weird cart. That was from the nintendo world championships that i sold now wishing to propagate the nintendo obscenity further than necessary very i destroyed my super deck with a sledgehammer and left it outside to rust in peace to close his letter. I wish to state for the record. I will never give nintendo another penny. Their project reality that is alleged to be in development is supposed to be cutting edge hardware. Who cares if you can't play the kind of games on the system is useless useless by atari quite simply. They are the best and editor. Why is number fifty four the only issue with the jag on the top of your front cover better. Put it back to let people know. No you guys support the jag case it was this the year that things turned out okay until eighteen eighteen ninety no. I think it's good to remember that insane. Fan boys are not new to video game. I think it definitely zelda. Mario like thing for sure started in genesis area but the but this is this is crazy. Shit censorship stuff was a big deal in the ninety s. You couldn't go to a church in dragon quest. I think they changed it a hospital or something like that. Even i think bionic commando there's a couple of other games ed censorship as well too just because of the ending of those games and yeah yeah. They took out the swastika. That's my point yeah they did. They did a lot of that stuff. I mean there's a there's an ad for blockbuster and it says the video games like high tops louis. What years this ninety four okay keep you on. I don't know when i remember blockbusters. My point video games are like high tops. The new ones are cool but after a while they start to stink right so rent your games for bach blockbusters there that feels really early for blockbuster. I don't know ninety four yeah because i feel like i remember high school. Just you know but i do remember them coming in and taking over other stores that were video-game stores. That's like the height of blockbuster. I think <hes> they just told us we own this lady. I saw i was a little room one up a good point because that came from davis from older. We're talking. We're talking inside baseball here <music> over in the review cruise section the game of the month is donkey kong ninety four. Oh cool got some. I don't remember hearing about it very much. What are the all time greats. You got a nine and three eighths. I would have given a four tenths but i don't think they they don't even seem entirely clear on what this game is as the highest score you're from editor of this issue says boy. This sure brings back memories. All the fun of the arcade is here plus a whole lot more donkey kong has more features including a save function auction cool new cinemas never before seen levels and color using the super game boy..

"Legit blows my mind just like with doing twenty sixteen and whatever the last Wolfenstein was also on switch like I'm playing this here with like a Cheshire cat grin face on like smile across my face like I'm playing this on my switch. It's it's absolutely incredible at this game suggests on this console and plays as well as it does it looks a little muddy looks a little Vassil leany but like my God if it's not an impressive game to be playing you know as I'm flying to Wyoming in an airplane playing the the game not the Gameboy version of mortal combat like that that's still that's the bumps it up several points on my review scale and I continue to be impressed by the it's priced. It's thirty and forty bucks for regular deluxe looks yeah. That's a great point and I I got the deluxe on sale like preorder sales thirty two for the deluxe for me. <hes> it is interesting. I I appreciate that it's price at that price point. I think if it were at fifty nine I still would have bought it because I love the franchise so so much but I I think it's an interesting approach to what they did like. They're treating it as a side story kind of like the expansion for God that they're not. They're all named horribly <hes> the other one that had a media expansion the sold alone <hes>. I believe <hes> machine games that if you play like everything it's actually longer than the last one but the main story by itself shouldn't take you as long so yeah I do think it's priced appropriately and it doesn't feel like a budget game in regard where it's not like Oh clearly. This is the not pretty version you know like the cut corners year I think they put a lot of work into the game and I think maybe making it that expansion price and calling it young blood and not like Wolfenstein three. Let them take some. I'm creative licenses and be a little more experimental them where they would do on a main line a sequel. I like it cool man cool. I have it for xbox one. I haven't played. I just installed it today so I haven't had a chance to actually plan navy yet but I'm a I'm looking forward to listen to me up I now these Games are idle. Yeah I did the first game or not the first game of most recent one. I finally came around and put on easy and enjoyed it yeah so maybe I will sometimes one anything else plays Christian doom three. We didn't talk about in the news but sorry the week but they Bethesda which seems odd like here's our new game what was done young blood also ahead it seemed that comes out or stealth wealth releasing what is quite Khan and it was to celebrate the twenty fifth anniversary of this and so you know doomed to and doom three on everything the same day youngblood came out yeah you understand it and then the memes of Bethesda account but there's been an update. They'RE GONNA try to make that option also you. Whatever whatever read about that story it's interesting fascinating all that being said I bought doom three and that is another game that as a <hes> per fortnight gaming I'm a I'm dead? I'm so old I'm dead way too old but it blows my mind to be playing doom three on my switch when I remember all of the trailers and the Zona gentle game the magazines talking about how this game was pushing graphics the flashlight tech in what is <hes> upgrade your P._c.. To play doom three yeah three is the only doom I never finished so I'm very close you replay that it's such a horror the game versus in action shooter yeah it really is cool cool diversion from the standard dum play that we think of now yeah yeah..

"But yeah, it was something like that. Yeah. If you just left it overnight and thought, oh, boy, it'll be ready when I get up in the morning. Nope. So anyway, I texted him before our eyes set a low to him. But then I forgot to ask. So I texted him while I've done here recording with you did your game. Fully download and he says, oh, no punctuation. Oh, yeah. And I'm never leaving. So maybe I don't have to get him. A new MAC book. Yeah. Really? At least not now. How fast is he gonna play through that? I don't know if it's good. It'll take them a while. He gets his value out of them. You know, he'd he, you know, he tends to. Well, it depends on the game too. Because I mean, he has blown through some games. I'm trying to remember what because he did one recently. He got some game recently. And it was like just a few days later is like, yeah, I'm done. Whoa. Jeez. Really Jonas had one. Like that. To forget what it was. But like destiny destiny is like. He he's sort of fallen out of fortnight. But for a while for night, you don't even pay for which is ridiculous. So whatever he's whatever he did spend on it to get costumes dance move over whatever the hell he bought. I mean, I it's actually is what you buy dance moves and customs. I have not seen that game in hankins. Not hang has. I there's I think there's a subculture that that hates that game. I Jonas is told me about his yes, he's into that group. Like, I got you like when I drive because we do a carpool for the kids back and forth from school. And so when I drive every once in a while somebody muttered that it's overrated. Yeah. Yeah. I Jonas is filled me in on that. But anyway, but destiny, which does cost money Jonas has gotten his money worth a thousand times over. I mean. Good god. This a lot of time. It's been a long time to. Seems fun. I mean, I played a little bit of the only thing I can compare it to it'd be bard's tale. Remember bard's tale. I remember the name. But I know that I love bard's tale. It was like a dungeons and dragons type game and it had like a sort of had like three d interface. But it was like one square at a time. You know, like think like castle wolfenstein three d but on an apple to we'd be in. Yeah. You'd move. It was like the DVD equivalent of moving one square on graph paper at a time. Right. But you'd go, you know, you'd see the walls of a dungeon. And you'd hit like up arrow to go ahead one. God it was a really good game. There was. Like, the most for whatever reason it's a weird number. But for whatever reason the most of a bad guy you'd ever encounter was ninety nine. It seems like a weird number 'cause you'd think it would be like two fifty six. Yeah. Or something. Yeah. You'd think it'd be like two hundred fifty five or two fifty six or something, but it was ninety nine it was delimited by the actual digit. And it was okay. So it was more. Like, a y two k problem. Right..

"Anyway, overlord. Yeah, I don't buy. I don't think. I think he, I don't think it over Lord would have to be amazing or he's really just screwed Cloverfield. That's it. Like it's really like, I feel like the saving grace Cloverfield is that paradox wasn't Netflix thing? Yes. We all tuned into it immediately that night when we found that it was a lot, we're all they call my God freaked out so excited but still safe because it was a Netflix thing. It wasn't a wide release thing, right? So right if this is Cloverfield which again, your hundred percent correct. J.j Abrams is is what makes us bread and butter. He's great at this marketing thing, like messing people's heads and getting, you know, even at the film just like a seven out of ten, all the hype able to produce around it and all the marketing mix of films always feel like or nine. So so if this is a ambulance thing that this things got to be like amazing and so far, the trailer, I was just kinda like, so I'm hoping it's not personally, but we'll see. Last thing, what most likely is what happened is they were finishing this movie up and they're were like, okay, this is easily the third best Cloverfield movie. Okay foot this we can't have this cut all the Cloverfield out of it. Just go back to the Lord. No more cloverleaf just over would probably happen. You're actually probably right. Paradox happened in the guys are like editor was like guys, just amazing. Third Cloverfield ever made. Yeah. Abort. Exactly. So that I bet you behind that wall that in probably you're right. It probably was at one point if it's not Cloverfield probably was a Cloverfield monster or some sort of Cloverfield something right? Yes. He's going to be a bunch of ambience that are going to be. It's going to be wolfenstein three the movie. Well, TJ. Thanks again for being here. Glad to finally get you back on again. We will get to that drastic world one of these day. Wait, can anything you want to plug free, get going. Now I have nothing going on right now. My life man. Okay. Well, we'll get you back on the show and then you could plug the show and then pluck..

"Four bullet points we wanna hit yeah coming off the weird anthem presentation and just going like fuck is that game right that was at least a good way to run down a game that people had a lot of questions about even if they didn't hit all the details not only i in general i thought they did a good job of having a lot of surprises that their thing even though all their big leat right i'm got an ounce yeah wolfenstein wolfenstein which again most people of course in most people going in we're like either or it'd be really cool if to do or another wolfenstein doom i think than wolfenstein i think if you look at it as a flip flop sort of thing you're like it's dooms time and then we'll get around to wolfenstein three which i think is right it's just they're also going to do this smaller like sounds like they're looking to frame that as something similar to the old blood or what the youngblood yeah do they come out and say or imply that i think the i've seen the location that that's good you're meant to think of this as as something similar what if this is not necessarily right okay i think a lot of us were like no it's too soon for we'll to do too late for deal see maybe for like wolfenstein but yeah they they hit us with both feel like i was pretty locked in on of course they're going to announce doom here from the radio yeah it was just always seemed like this would be the time to say it whatever they didn't say a lot about it but just what they did have their the traffic light you know certain shots were just enough i think for people to get excited the name still leaves me wondering i think it's really just a matter of like i had this conversation with the i went on a capcom event and there was when they were announcing our six i think six yeah had it would have had been six and talking to them through translator just over dinner talking to them about numbering in games and they're like six it's crazy that like and they were like yeah it's weird to be making a gain let's a six a seven final fantasy twenty just getting into that whole thing of just like at some point these numbers are meaningless especially in games like final fantasy where everything is be a different retelling of a story or not even retailing here's a different story different characters all this other stuff like resident evil is not too far from that at this point doom and sounds like halo are both actual continuations of their stories but at the same time i get the idea of saying okay we don't want to say if you didn't play halo one through five don't bother plan six i saw that exact thing and i can't remember what games relation to some game that has dropped numbers starting moving to subtitles and that was the exact thing was like we don't want people to think they can't get into the series because they're already five of them right something like that yeah i think that's that's a smart move and i think it's why games got into subtitles and stuff like that it's why call of duty has numbering on its subtitles but this isn't call of duty eleven or whatever the fuck it we've been yeah i think it's just it's a friendlier look to people that maybe don't have huge miliary with the franchise valid ahead of the curve by never going pass to xactly smart so smart for sure all right that's that's most of the press conferences donald take a quick break and we'll come back and run down the rests e three continues after this no.

"Trying to look that up to i couldn't get anything clear the fact that they didn't specifically say speak will during the conference i assigned to is what but the fact that they didn't say like this was wolfenstein three bryant makes me think that is probably going to be like like a add on to like a significant add on to women sign to in that same engine you'll like it'll be kind of like a a far clive blood blood dragon kind of thing yeah thing just like it was old blood it went new order old blood and the new colossus was wolfenstein two and this is called a young blood so that kind of implies than that it would be right if you do order to old blood and new colossus and young blood maybe it's that forty dollar thirty dollar kind of standalone thing but the code and the vr standalone vr game is called cyber pilot which sounds really cool i can't wait to find out more information about that both of those evidently playable at the booths while definitely get my face on with with both those vr games and then we got a deep dive taught howard came onstage looking impossibly cool in his leather jacket he doesn't age that s i love that guy man he's so fast and he did a deep dive into fall at seventy six which is in fact a survival game sort of a i mean it really does feel like fallout does destiny and i know that the destiny style of game is in vogue right now we're seeing lots of them i never would've wait destiny or in vogue you're throwing all these are.
