Philadelphia Eagles agree to trade QB Carson Wentz to Indianapolis Colts
"So carson wentz traded to the colts again. We knew the colts were looking for a vet. We knew that the eagles were looking to move carson wentz. Whether you know you think that's wednesdays fall and the eagles thinking he's just not good whether you think has jalen hurts and the fact that they feel like he's promising young rookie who who pushed the vet out or whether you feel like. They're going to draft another rookie early. You know it doesn't really matter what matters is that will and we'll discuss that. Like i said another episode but what does matter this episode is carson wentz and the colts less. What will happen i. The eagles traded wentz for a twenty twenty one third round pick and a conditional twenty twenty two second rounder. Which if he plays seventy five percent of the snaps and twenty twenty one or seventy percent and the clothes made the playoffs then it becomes a first round selection in two thousand twenty two. I mean that's really not a lot. Not a lot honestly is really not. I mean if he is the franchise quarterback that the colts expect him to be since they made this trade even if it turns into a first round pick a third round pick. It's really not a lot. It's a lot free. Starting franchise quarterback. I mean. We just seen what staffer forgot. We hear what the texts wofford shawn. Watson it's this is really a lot no matter how you look at it however so from an ego standpoint like i said i don't wanna talk too much about the eagles on this episode but for an eagle standpoint. I don't feel like they got a lot But maybe this was the most they can get. They wanted to get rid of his salary. They wanted to move on so they do understandable understand. That's what you wanna do. You wanna do what you wanna do. Go for but i'm not a fan of giving them up for that for that for that price tag out at least a guarantee i. I can't be doing this whole conditional. I need a guarantee i number one number two round pick makomo give us some second round picks for picks to i get a player involved in their something so yeah from the eagles now point if i'm an eagles fan i'm a little annoyed. I'm pissed off. It'd be honest. He traded a quarterback who some of you believe instill and you didn't get a whole back and we know how hard it is to find. Quarterbacks like real quarterbacks legit quarterbacks so not happy from the from the standpoint of that but for the colts that is a win if wentz is who they think he is. That's a win. That's straight up win as all there is to it. So great job by the colts just for the price tag that it took to get him whence so far in his career. It's been pretty up and down right. I mean he's dealt with injuries. He's dealt with a bad team up. You know at times. That wasn't the greatest they didn't have the best of performances overall you know but carson wentz. I mean if you if you if you look at his career. He's been in the league for five years. I guess last year though some injuries doesn't eighteen he injuries and seventeen. I believe he has some injuries. So he's he's only had two full years. I believe he played every game but Regardless i mean he's had a really good seasons and then he's asked like not so great like last year was pretty bad. You know minus effectively play twelve games. Names a did play. It was bad it was his worst season.

Tell me about working for for your dad and doing the early fishing long story short so when I when I left Graduate School I was given opportunity the company wasn't doing really well at the time, although the tested then mandated by the FDA to replace the rabbit, it was still a difficult competitive situation so again for us. It was tough. That's why they wanted me to come. I was one of the first ones to get you know three or four o'clock in the morning and go gathered the horseshoe crabs. From April fifteen to end of June. We bleed only when they coming up at high tides, and mainly they come up at high types after dark. Full Moon and a hot crabs. You're going to be there, okay. The southlands in thousands in early days we couldn't handle all the crabs that were coming up, so it'd be kind of surreal I can imagine a beach full of crabs. It is and we you know. We had very selective fishermen that we work with because again. They a lot of them just didn't see the value of them. It took us a long time to get the get the attention of the commercial industry. Get them to realize the value of the crab. Eventually we did I would actually drive to the docks during shrimping season If they caught him as byproducts I would just leave our car business card and say hey, call us if you catch any byproduct I'll come, pick them

UNC's Lost Season
"Jeff Bordello. I'm a little shook. North Carolina finished the regular season. They lose to do because that's fine we're used to that but they're the lowest seed in the ACC tournament North Carolina. So some how you would view this season for the tar heels. I mean they're arguably the most disappointing team in the country. Jeff Portillo is a college basketball insider for ESPN. And I know we have to take some other factors into account with injuries. And Karl Anthony and things like that but you know this was a preseason top ten team that like you said is going to be the bottom seed in the ACC tournament in the ACC is not goodness here. It's a it's a pretty down league you know. There are Miami. Nbc in Wake Forest Pittsburgh. None of those teams are very good and Carolina is at the bottom of all that and to me. That's shocking you know. This is one of the best of all time blueblood like I said a top ten preseason team and four months later five later. They're the worst team in the ACC. It's one of the bigger stories in college football this season and I think you could really make the case that there are the biggest disappointment in college hoops so let's go back to October. Preseason rankings come out North Carolina's in the top ten. They're sitting at number nine refresh everybody in what the real expectations were coming into this season for this team. I mean they a lot of guys from last year but they did bring in what people expected was an impact recruiting class was led by Karl Anthony Centerpiece of Roy Williams retooling effort. It's chole Anthony. Going the top freshman in the country making his debut tonight from of a raucous crowd here that the dome he was expected by pretty much everyone to be the most productive freshman in the country. That's how he wasn't high school that's where he was on the scene. He was a guy that was going to put up big points. He was gonNA put a big assist numbers. He's going to rebound and he was going to win games. That's just that's just what he was at the high school level and people expected him to to be that same player Carolina and it. Kinda set up perfectly for him because he was able to come in and this was a team that didn't have any real goto guys coming back. So they said hey collapsed. And you're getting the ball from day one and you're gonNA lead us and you know it kind of looked good. You know in the first game of the season. He was terrific. He had thirty four points. Eleven rebounds five assists debut for coal. Anthony lost a lot of stars to the NBA. After last season with the go one superstore Chambal. Whom the feeling was that? You know this team is going to be okay. Even despite the losses and along with him they brought into Grad transfer. Is that you know. We're probably two of the five or seven best. Grad transfer is in the country was Christian Keeling from Charleston southern just NPR's from William and Mary and and that added some experience at its veteran leadership and combined with a couple of other guys are Mondo Baker was a five star recruit garrison brooks was a two year starter download so i. I just think that people thought you combine the newcomers with the guys returning and even though there weren't any stars coming back from last year's team there was enough here to to compete for an ACC title and Roy Williams has done this before where his team is is written off a little bit in the preseason and under rank behind teams like Duke and he finds a way to win and that's just what he does and and I think people expected him to do it again with the guys coming in and coming back well so now you've got a team that has preseason expectations they get into. The season was the first time this season there was the first real sign of concern that the season might not go the way some had hoped. I think it was a couple of things I think one was even when they were winning the game. They won their first five games of the season. But even some of those the Notre Dame win the Alabama win. There were some signs of. Is this team going to be as good as we thought were Williams? I you get the sense. He hasn't loved all aspects of his teams. Play here today. You know he has. He has not name barely beat. Notre Dame eleven point margin was it. It wasn't addictive. How close the season opener was against Notre Dame so I think there was. Okay let's give it time. Let's let Cole Anthony. And the other freshman get acclimated and this team will figure it out but they lose by twenty five at home 'til Ohio state to start December. You know then they lose that. Virginia you know losing effort gene is not not a usually a big concern. This is not a vintage Virginia team and I think most people realize that at that time and then they lose to Wofford. They ended up finishing below five hundred in the southern conference. Terriers come to Chapel Hill and knock off a top twenty five North Carolina squad. And that's when the you know the eyebrow start raising what's going on with his team are they poised to be this massive disappointment and obviously once call. Anthony gets hurt. The wheels fall off from their breaking news. Call Anthony out four to six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus. Well at that point you know maybe things are a little bit concerning. But they're going to get two. Acc conference play. You said it the ACC not the best conference in the world so they get to the ACC schedule. How's that go form? You look at their schedule and you said okay they can. They can weather the storm three straight home games in. Acc play against Georgia Tech Pit Clemson and they had games against Pittsburgh Virginia Tech Miami even a bad UNC team or even a a mediocre UNC. Team could go six in Owen. Those games it was kind of the the bottom half of the league and they went one and five losing the first five games of that stretch. Seventy nine seventy seven double-overtime Virginia tech knocking off North Carolina. I think that was almost getting the end. When you look back the schedule what would be the one moment that sort of pushed everything over to the point in return honestly I think it was after Columbia comes back a long ways away. Eleven Games without call Anthony but he will play tonight. Yeah the five hundred. Unc team suddenly. Jay has a lot of juice and he'd be Miami. Nc State then call and he comes back for a home game in Boston College and you know. They weren't very good at the time but they tended ten three and six in the ACC and you know the the narrative was kind of okay. If Cole Anthony Comes back the committee will look at them and say you know with call. Anthony this is an NCAA tournament team. He's going to be on the roster in the NCAA tournament they're going to factor that in so I think people started wondering can. Unc string together. Some wins and make a late run and in his first game back. You lose at home to Boston. College straight three other time. He's spoiled return. I think that was the sign that it's not going to happen so that's not. Obviously the only epic moment we all continue to think about from the season tickets back to the first game between North Carolina and Duke. The Duke Game was a game that that could have turned things around at least changed the narrative about Carolina and to lose in that fashion. Another late blown lead. Losing to your biggest rival do comes back not to be Carolina to me. That was that was a really low mon it just because it it could have been really a season changing moment for Carolina and the way it happened it just it kind of sent them even further down into the season

"The year ago I said here and we lost to Wofford and I said you guys that we were really good but we want special aside Wofford was special and they proved tonight I sit here with a special team little bit of redemption from two thousand nineteen and that is the beauty of sports it always resets you always have another opportunity and and yes athletes move on in the case of college kids graduate but the teams we root for laundry right we re we refer programs generally we root for the school or the franchise as opposed to individual players and as disappointing as one year may be there's always another year hope springs eternal next year so congratulations to East Tennessee state on the Buccaneers radio network the voice of J. Sandoz the Steve Forbes they've got their automatic they he's fifty was feeling really sick to his stomach before the game but he felt he felt a whole lot better after they had one sure why not and now you can sit back and be assured that your school's name will will show up on selection Sunday I those teams that are on the bubble those teams that are busy reading how are we the last four in our part of the first four out in in what you know what it one of the experts say like Jerry Palmer who was on our show this time yesterday it definitely is a nerve wracking time for those teams that don't have automatic bids but if you do have the auto bid and you know you're in even better even better then because you can relax and wait until of course you're paired up with say Kansas or Kentucky or date the opening round four years sent to Dayton all felt that would be a way to really crush that bad to be a buzz kill there's the right term for it you're all excited you've waited all week you know your school's Dave is going to be on the TV screen and then you get set to Dayton oh dear the after hours here on CBS sports radio congratulations to the Buccaneers of the E. T. S. U. we have seen that the NFLPA extend the voting deadline so you're some more madness coming for the world of sports the deadline was originally Thursday at midnight eastern time for all the players who were planning to vote on the new CBA to actually send the road St however they do it I'm sure they do a variety of ways that deadline's been extended this is eight it's a vote that a lot of people could go either way the proposal from the NFL owners is four hundred fifty six pages what are the chances that even ten percent of NFL players are reading the entire thing maybe some offense of linemen they're always the smartest guys in the locker rooms but four hundred fifty six pages this is that what I thought of when I heard the the number four hundred fifty six I am currently attempting to buy a house the contracts the paperwork oh my goodness there's so much to read but I feel like because it's such a major investment a little bit scary I'm I'm thrilled and terrified all at the same time because it's just me whose name will be on the title I feel like I better read all of those pages including the fine print now I am working with an attorney so it's her job to also be aware in the case of NFL players there are agents and their representatives are expected to know and make sure they're informed and if you're an agent who is familiar with every little stipulation in this new CBA well then you should be fired you gave your job you know as you know as agents your attorneys as well it's your job to know but I wonder how many players are reading even half of the four hundred fifty six pages but the idea behind extending the voting deadline to Saturday at midnight eastern is so that more players can be familiar with what they're actually voting on as opposed to Askin other teammates are asking friends of theirs who play in the NFL Hey what are you doing what do you think how should I vote no I hope that the players are informed but I still have no sense of how this might go apparently there are enough NFL players asking if they could change their votes that the union had to do it they need to vote on whether or not players could change their votes so it sounds like there's a lot of waffling there's a lot of indecision and there are a lot of different factors at play but I keep coming back to this if nearly two thirds of the league is making minimum salary and and no it's not minimum wage is not the same thing but nearly two thirds of NFL players are playing for the league minimum meaning they're not playing for millions of dollars and the average NFL career doesn't even last four seasons whether because of injuries or just because the high turnovers someone else comes along is better than you or cheaper than you the average NFL career isn't even four years it stands to reason with so many players making minimum salaries and so many guys who know what they're only going to be in the league for a few years unless they catch lightning in a bottle but it's not the majority of guys who are like Tom Brady or drew Brees ord some of the punters and kickers to last forever no that's not the majority the rank and file of the NFL plays for their first contract the rookie contract or their free agent contracts on when they first get the league which is minimum salaries and a lot of cases and then they're done and they don't ever signed a second contract so that's the majority those guys are likely really in favor of getting paid more to play football it's all Hey me extra money money that tangible that I can see if you're gonna give me a raise and maybe an extra game to well then bring it on I'm all for it as we've heard from a couple different gas like Ross Tucker former NFL offensive linemen who was on and off different rosters I think six teams he was with six different teams he had a variety of injuries he lasted on and off for about god to give six seven years it wasn't more than a decade but a lot of the time he's been being injured trying to recover from injuries in a note a starting line ups he says the majority of players are just out to make as much money as they can of course they want to stick but they don't realize it's not forever it's for now so you do the best you can the time you've got you take it to the experience Hey build a bit of a nest egg that you can use for the next phase of your life that applies to the majority of NFL players you know all they need is fifty one percent to ratify the new labor deal most guys never have to worry about the franchise tag most guys are concerned about the the seventeenth game because it may only affect them for a couple of years most guys aren't super stressed out about the marijuana policy like the reserved various things that have come up but the part that appeals to the majority of players would be the extra money and if it's really that simple if that's how they're voting then the majority of players are concerned about principal and only making forty eight point five percent as it you know as players the revenue split would give all players forty eight a half percent of of the NFL's revenue so the owners are still making more but I mean we're not talking about dak Prescott and Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan's in Jimmy Garoppolo's for the most part no that may make plenty of money as the other guys that are desperate for the raises so we'll see I mean every time I convinced myself the thing is that a path that I waffle back and think I don't know there's certainly some powerful voices some loud voices who making it known that they don't think this labor deals equitable and fair to the players and the players should be holding out for more so if there's a movement some underlying movement where the players are going to band together there's no threat of a work stoppage this season they're still going to play this year and a work stoppage is not likely the NFL owners don't want to work stoppage I mean it would hurt the players more but the owners and the NFL don't want either deadlines motivate people this is not a hard deadline they're still your left on the NBA and the NBA so there's more than a year left on the NBA all the CVA so yeah I I keep changing my mind about how this is going to go but the deadline has been extended to Saturday so we won't know anything before our work week is done it wasn't a landslide maybe they don't they don't need to count every last vote you can follow me on Twitter a all radio finish this sentence to leave their phone number if it's our way of Chelsea knock Liverpool out of FA Cup
"Discussion. We've been having with discussions vivid stretch. Everyone just shouting at me over the last couple of days. Liverpool out the FA Cup big deal or not Look I think if you look at some of the teams. He played earlier in the competition. You could see that. This was not a priority for them. The fact of the route. Now I don't think moves the needle much. Think by the end of the season they'll be judged on whether or not they win the Premier League and we cautiously assume they will and and what they can do in the Champions League. Don't you think though alley that they should have? I don't think they should have a stronger song. Eleven out for this game given that they have already won the primarily. I do think there's an opportunity here for for Liverpool to if you're going to rest people you wrestle against born with and I understand the point that you were trying to make their so. I'm thinking if you have an opportunity to advance in a competition which you can win something. Then how about you put your best team in that competition you win the game you advance and then whatever it is that you need to do against permits you do now. What's do what's trying to get to that? Well you build momentum from the game against born well you could have done that with the first team by beating Chelsea and then you don't have to build anything going against me. I think there was a chance here for Liverpool to continue to advance in the competition. You Change your mind. I just can't give you a plausible answers to why he's chosen over overly game I. I'm not entirely sure it is. I think this is crystal clear is not particularly when an FA Cup and going all the way to the final. Thank not it's pretty clear gone. Gap could also be that when he has played best available. Eleven in the last couple of games before this game. They weren't very good and they lost a Wofford weren't good against West Ham and loss to Madrid. And so maybe he simply said what. Why don't you just take a mental break? And as far as resting people they did come off a two week stretch of Rasta winter. Break so I. I think he's probably looking at things. A little differently Chelsea then through to the quarter-finals the FA
Which Liverpool Will Show Up Against Chelsea?
"Chelsea Segment Liverpool tomorrow in the FA Cup Chelsea favorites actually To make it through to the quarter-finals proteins of wobbles of late. Which point of view is interesting? Because you'd imagine that they'll both go strong for this. Well I'm not sure I'm not sure. I actually think that someone digital in this area I think Chelsea my ever sneaky Johnson not because Liverpool were very weekend against wofford which to wear but one hole and two. And I'm only surmising here. You might be thinking about putting all these eggs and not jumping sleep boskin. But that's next week. You know that you know you try. And things like that we can mic on. You seem in. This man are vaccinated. I'm not talking about a player but I'm tired. I'm talking key. Players getting injured rights right. So it don't matter if the game is next week or ten days right not the full to lose money for. Minot already lost had this same delusion. Dale Van Dyke so I wonder whether or not he will make some not wholesale. Make quite a few changes for this game thinkin right. Bremer leaked pretty much the bike. Yes he's leak. You need to get you play a shop playing properly. I'm with Craig. I fully understand of you club. Mix Mix mix change it just because I just explained to me what will intend result against Wofford but even though Liverpool have been winning some of their performances have been great as you spoken about over the last couple of weeks or so of hood that you spoke about the last couple of weeks. So you understand if he wants to change things and maybe give some of keeps the rest at the same time Chelsea. I expect them to go strong. They have been all over the last few weeks really cover year on. Does he give give kept our roads and maybe figure things out with John so I I think this is a big game for Chelsea on you. See that brutally lineups probably result don. I totally agree with shocker. I cannot see Liverpool plains. Strong team looked at a team. They played against shoes being the last round and it was full of teenagers. Harvey Elliott played at Sixteen Chiro. Vela eighteen the oldest player was twenty one. So I can't imagine many of you have big hitters planning this because it's Craig said before you pick up an injury now and even though the chums league is approximately ten days away. You got no chance recovering so you don't play them now you don't play them against former Earth truly you need. I don't think sharpness I think played enough. Games is enough games in their legs to suggest that they are shot. I mean if anything I feel a little bit jaded. I thought you saw that in the performance against Wofford so I think you'll go pretty strong against Balmer. But even then he can rescue strong against former which is closest to the Atlanta game and getting doesn't matter at all I don't of the Premier League's the holy grail formulaic. It's funneling well. We we know the one the primly but young couple still want to get back on the horse of lost one game against Wofford and eastward in the press today saying good teams. Don't lose to the spin so that suggests to me that you know will will play people Adam Alana if he's in one or two others but it I guarantee you it'll be a very very young side against Chelsea then it'll be semi strong against Bournemouth and then he's full-strength side again southbound after the hostages. He can't take any chances. If if Monay for me no you know Van Dyke Allison if any of those pickup injuries in the next couple of games. I mean you'd have to say. The chances of them go through would be slim as the explanation. Divide combine any of them three three x pros plausible explanations of how the changes against Chelsea and make more changes against Baltimore in the League and then he hoped he put his strongest against us led to Madrid. Right that's not rocket science right just because you go there and play all his best players. Don't think Liverpool team right. We'll look at it and go while I think we'll look at it and it will be very much a hybrid. I'll be surprised if not rutland on prediction. I think Chelsea win because I said before the two sides the team in the manager that needs the result. Moawad it's frankly been on a desperate Ron. I come and tight on their game in the beginning against Balmer. They were lucky to get a draw. Fill scored a very company. Easy Chances. Zeljan would've got beaten the game so then not in great form so I would imagine frank logo really really strong and I think young young. Nothing the home side win for the reasons I mentioned. We'll have with changes which I think will come and Chelsea being at home and played some good stuff at home. I'm going to go for that reason. Jesse thanks very much

Oh, Wofford, Kentucky, your Maryland, LSU Wofford can tell you I think is re interesting and if Wofford's hitting the three ball Kentucky is in trouble, Florida, Michigan Murray state and Jaama rant against Florida state. That's always going to be must watch Gonzaga Baylor. A big ten battle mentioned seven big ten teams left. Michigan state Minnesota going head to head Villanova Purdue. And then I love this. When at night primetime late game, Auburn, Kansas. What's got you going Maryland LSU well that that's the one for me because I'm marijuana. I see them all year and you'll lose three or last four coming into the tournament. You struggle. You narrowly beat Belmont, you're down you come back. You win by to their leading score. You don't get anything out of his three eighteen they wanted advance. They got to be more efficiently. Offensive end. They know that I they're only a two two and a half point underdog to LSU. It's a six against the three. We'll see I think Marilyn can benefit from what happened, but they got to get better on the offensive side. You mentioned Wofford they come in one twenty one. In a row. Yeah. They're only Dr in this game Kentucky's a five five and a half point favorite. I just think Kentucky as too much going on even though you have PJ walking out again with the spring foot. I think Kentucky athletic. We'll see there. And you mentioned it all burnt, and Kansas, and we hope maybe to get Bruce Pearl in today. Well, try we're working on getting Bruce. They're out in Salt Lake City couple hours behind us right now. But we will see if he gets back to me. But Auburn they're gonna live and die by the three. And he knows it. They may take forty forty two forty four shots from outside the arc wouldn't surprise anybody Bryce Brown Jared Harper if they get hot they've got a chance Kansas struggles defending the three a little bit. So that would be Auburn potentially their best shot. They got blasted by the way in this round by Clemson a year ago. "Updating about ten minutes here but Wofford has a fourteen eleven lead over Kentucky ten eleven to go in the first half in the mid west region of the NC double a basketball tournament. I read you that Bob Kraft statement, what do you make of it is just a way to sort of give a stiff arm to the media people at the owners meetings. Or is it a statement that the man releases before a plea bargain comes out, I would say this now that I read initial my initial reaction was one thing. Now, it's yeah. He was just rolling out a. He was he's I don't wanna say even playing both sides of the street. They he's he's trying to total line of. Hey, I still maintain my innocence. And because of that I'm just going to apologize to everybody. Here. The other part of this too is. And producer, Tom, and I were talking about this and the off air show, by the way, ad producer underscore, Tom on Twitter at Billy. On Twitter for all you ladies who still yet to send Billy your your photos in bikinis and things like that maybe in the summer that will pick up, but anyway pressure, Tom, and our kind of talking about this. You know, these cops in Florida who got this, Tom. What did you call a sneak peek or Pete Dan's, it sneak peek warrant, okay, then who knows if there's audio if there wasn't a pre existing history of impropriety within that supposed- massage. Parlor did they illegally obtain the war? There's a traffic stop mixed in there as well. Where you normally don't ask for the identification of the other person in the car normally, it's just the driver. But they did it to verify that it was Robert Kraft. And there's that part of it. It seems like it seems like there are two things at work here. One is that. It looks like he probably did tell it looks like either pad someone in there that was very friendly or they all kind of knew the deal, and he knew what was going on in that massage parlor, and there is some guilt there. But there also is the protocol of law that made me wasn't followed as well. Both can be true, by the way, the well, we all know that he did it and people are going to judge him. Anyway, however, does he or could he end up getting away from these charges because the law wasn't followed. Because look if they go into court on March twenty eighth, and this group of lawyers go in there, and they slice and dice this district. Attorney in this sheriff's office down there in Florida, and they go in there and in the in the words of Seinfeld carve them up like a smoke sturgeon. Then is that really going to change your mind? The FOX populi have made up their mind on whether he did or didn't do this. And it's interesting because this is where your sports fandom potentially gets in the way of looking at Robert Kraft is a human being and saying if the law wasn't followed. Then he shouldn't be busted like if it was your friend wherever you are in this great country of ours. Let's say all of that evidence that is against Robert Kraft, right and the whole sneak peek warrant and the traffic stop and all that kind of all that minutia, right? If that was your friend wherever you live who got Boston down the road. Right. You and be like, okay. Dude. Look, I know you did it. But the cops also didn't go about obtaining all of their information in a legal upright, upstanding way. And would you not sit there and say? Yeah. You don't want. I don't want you. I don't want the cops. I don't want the people in my jurisdiction just out trying to find people who are doing things that are on board and doing it in a way where they haven't crossed their T's and dotted there is is. Well, basically, you're looking at it, you're saying, you know, you don't. You don't want the people in your town. Sort of running the police department that the way they may be doing it in Jupiter, Florida. Right. Like, if you've got more if you have a friend who's in that spot. I think you can look at it and say, hey, both things are true. However, it's really funny when you tie in the sports element of it. Then your thoughts of prot legal process. And the way information is obtained is out the window because it's your blood lost right audit. Bass patriots. I want him to go down. I I don't I don't care if those cops dot that video illegally. I one Robert Kraft to be taken down 'cause I hate the patriots. It's it's very fascinating to me. You we become more litigious over the years would become more in tune with the processes of law enforcement. But boy, if it's somebody on a team that you don't like, none of that stuff matters. Because you want that person to get busted. I promise you. We're going to get to these NFL rules coming up at the real gresh on Twitter. You can always hit me up there. Let's go to beaks in studio city who's next on the gresh show on CBS sports radio. What's big? Thanks, man. Been been a little bit. Do. Well, do what I saw. Beat Seattle moment last night where some guy didn't challenge. My point. He challenged me. And yeah is about midnight eastern time. And I went after a dude on Twitter last night at the real, gresh. Enjoy all the fun. There you go. I didn't I didn't. It was about you interact with everybody and lotta monetize. Don't do that. So it's good for your brand. Man. I I appreciate that. So on the journey here. Staying on on that topic. I'm not a big guy. You know, I went to Chico state northern California for basketball. It was you know, we're not we're on that level. My dad went to Vanderbilt, you know. So he's. You know, he he struggles watching his team which again every once in a while. So I don't really watch the jury, but this year, I am because like people I go okay winners do claim, and we all know why I'm saying that is because I on in my opinion. It's like when when the guy who is LeBron is towards the end of his career. It's bizarre. How after a new guy comes out of nowhere. And you know, it's gonna be on. So my my issue is it's green through the journey. But I don't understand the NBA owners in GM's in terms of the guy like that lately where you got. The Cavs losing abroad. And then I think maybe the blues had the worst records like if I was the owner of those teams, and we tell the coaches like. Thing where you just put dunes on the floor in. Tank. One hundred percent every game. What have you slap ashes doing? I mean is I on is gonna change your old culture in in team. And that's what I got man. I love you, brother. Thank you for the kind words. And look here's the short term of it is that Adam silver is watching right? He ET's sitting there waiting to see who is tanking it up to to be able to rain down upon them. And here's the other thing too. Like beaks the team. Thank you brother, the team that is taking the worst of the Knicks Kim Jae like what is what can Adam silver duty, James Dolan, James Dolan, doesn't do to himself. I mean that guy is thrown fans out for non for God's sakes. The you know, what that guy's a winner that guy who can't go to MSG and watch snakes basketball that guy is the winner in the end of it. You know, what's crazy? I do think there are teams that are out there beaks they really are trying to tank. But you know, every once in a while and Phoenix d- Andrea this can have a great game. And they're going to win some or what's happening. Now, I think is other teams are looking at. And they're saying we're playing the Knicks. Let's sit are three starters. Let's rest our guys knowing that the scores still going to be close enough that it's not gonna put us on that tanking radar. And truecar. You've got a star on your roster. So when you're ready to sell or trade in your car, she got truecar true cash not available in all areas. Okay. So three big ones. These are the three main rule proposals. That will be voted on by the competition committee next week need twenty four out of the thirty two votes for these pass. So there's an onside rule kick change, which is one shot from the thirty five yard line four and fifteen gotta get the midfield. If you convert that counts as you're on side kick, you keep possession a love who I like that too. Next one. There's there's two proposals involving replay basically one of the one of the. Ones making all plays review -able, which is something that we've been talking about for a long time. Bill Belichick talks about that rich has been pounding the table for that. And then finally the other big one that'll probably get a lot of the buzz. Most of the buzz Kansas City. Chiefs have proposed this one both teams get the ball in overtime. Wow..

"To this point. We've got Abilene Christian beating Kentucky. We have seen the whole over walford. And we have Georgia state over Houston. So I think that as much as I'd like to say that the hours and days, I've spent in front of the TV and talking to coaches and talking to you know, is that it's all worthwhile. When I fill out the bracket. I don't know that throwing darts at a wall isn't just a better option than what I've been doing. Thank you very much. Would you like to be with us right now as we select a couple more games? Yes. Okay. I tell me what you think real quick just give me like fifteen seconds or less on Ohio State versus Iowa State. So I always state they got three or four pros on that team. They could legit make the Sweet Sixteen or elite. I wanna be surprised they could legit lose to Ohio State. And I would it be spread. Okay. So if you wouldn't be surprised by anything. This is a a pressure free throw that I'm about to make Ohio states the eleven I was states the six so rat is Ohio State Brown will be Iowa State. Here we go. We got read. Again, we got nothing but upset so Ohio State is going to defeat. I was day. But you don't think that's crazy. I don't think it's crazy. So state hit Ohio State. Yeah. We've got nothing. We've take four games so far. It's all upsets, I don't know why I'm hitting hitting all here on the board. There you go out to Vegas. It all read their. Let's you know. So no, I don't I don't think that's insane. At all. I mean, Ohio State plays in the big ten. They laid great teams all year. They've been good teams Iowa State again. These are the facts that are going to be meaningless when my bracket blows up, but they lost five out of their last six games in the regular season. They got hot in the last week. I don't think it's insane. At all that Ohio State would pull that upset. Okay. Let's do one more Jimmy ten seconds on Kansas versus northeastern. Kansas. I'll say this hits read I won't be surprised really was Kansas was a biz mole on the road this year. So they had a couple injuries. A couple of suspensions. You know, one guy's not playing, you know, guardian took some money and got caught by the FBI. And so they went like one in seven away from home in their last eight games. So it waiting their last eight games away from home. So it would not surprise me. If on a neutral court, they got upset I'd hear it goes, Kansas versus northeastern. Okay, Kansas is going to survive Kansas is going to win round one. So we do have our first favorite of the first round. And will be Kansas defeating northeastern very exciting stuff. I'm I'm glad that you're you're right in the middle here, though that you're you're becoming one of us us us. Every man college basketball fans were just like, yeah. I'd this could go either way. I'm glad you're saying that right now. Well, I remember a few years ago. First of all my bracket is always the worst one. And everyone's like, what are your picks? And I'm like, you don't really want my picks. But I remember, you know, I was talking with our buddy Colin cowherd three years ago. And he said do you get mad when everybody else that doesn't watch like me has a better bracket than you? And I said, you know, Colin, I'm a lot like Bill Belichick. I just focus on myself. I don't worry about the outside noise. What it does drive me a little bananas that all these all these men hours. I put loving the sport. And it's all for nothing come March. I wanna ask you this. This is a conversation that was happening here at the office about an hour ago. Which is the best college basketball team in the state of California this year. Oh, man. I feel like I had this conversation. It's obviously not USC. It's not. I'm trying to think, you know, I think it might be UCLA by down. And there's only there's just a letter listeners. All there's only two teams from the entire state of California in this bracket at its UC Irvine, it probably should have been without a major upset. It would have only been one. It's UC Irvine in Saint Mary's that's wild that's wild. I think Saint Mary's would probably went on a neutral court, but I'll tell you what Irvine is one if the dark skew towards Irvine that would not surprise me at all like, I know you said a minute ago. Nobody knows these head coaches follow, blah, all I'm saying is as cow is abysmal in the Pac twelve Russell Turner. Who's the head coach at UC Irvine? They could be they could do themselves a favor to give him a call, by the way, he coached at Stanford. He was in assistant with the Golden State Warriors. He knows the bay area that guy can coaches, you know, what off I don't know that he'd be a great interview for your show. You just want more entertaining. College basketball. You should have your. Your buddies over Cal get him a call. Hey, while we're on it. What are we doing here with with Pac twelve sports? What's what's what's happening right now? So as anti Pac twelve is anybody as everybody because I think the bottom line is we had the worst combined year ever since they've been recording numbers in wins and losses for Zona and UCLA in the same season. We gotta season where one's been bad. We've had a season where another has been bad. But we've never had a season where they're collectively as bad. And so what I always say is, you know, we would be talking about how bad the ACC was if Duke in North Carolina had historically their worst seasons combined ever the big twelve. Did it feel a sexy this year because Kansas wasn't good? And I just think look Arizona. They have the number one or three class coming in. They're going to get right? But if errors Zona was just what they've been in UCLA was just what they've been all of a sudden, you add two more top twenty five teams in you. Then potentially have five bitch the NCAA tournament. Nobody feels bad now with that said, I can't really speak for football, which is a total mess, but basketball, I think it's cyclical I think they'll be fine. I see that you said getting back to the brackets the Tennessee and Michigan state where the two teams that got screwed. Why why do you think that? So two different reasons. I think in general nobody really has a big gripe. But Mark, you know, for people who don't follow this stuff three hundred sixty five days a year in the past the committee has kind of made this big stink about we do wanna keep teams close to home because you know, we don't want these student athletes to travel, whatever buffalo, blah. I know where you stand on all that. But they always have given preferential treatment to the higher seeded teams. It's a very simple concept you bust your butt. You're awesome all year, you shouldn't have to play in somebody's backyard in so Tennessee could potentially in round to have to play Cincinnati in Columbus, Ohio, which is only about an hour from Cincinnati. I just think that's totally unfair for a team. That's done. You know, they they've been awesome. And it could come down to their basically playing a true road game in the NCAA tournament, you know, after six months of hard work. I just think that's kinda nonsense and then when Michigan state. You know, it's the deal of the committee considered them one of the quote unquote, best number two seeds. So then why are they lined up with the best number one seed, and do it makes absolutely no sense to me. Yeah. That's interesting. All right. Gimme gimme the dark horse that could make some noise who's wearing Cinderella. This year. Well, I'll tell you. I know I know you have a primarily NBA audience Murray state with John Mirant got to be a lottery pick that kid is unbelievable. He average twenty four games scoring led the nation in this. I think he is every bit the real deal. And if you told me he put his team on his back. I'll Steph curry wins to three games basically by himself. It wouldn't surprise me kid is just out of this world. I think whether you follow college basketball, whether you're following the darts. That's a kid to watch out for because he's

"You think Wofford we'll take them Wofford's that hot right now. Wofford's? Really good offered is really good. So it'd be interesting now, I'm just like to give you some. You have probably a perfect bracket. So Louisville a five point favorite over Minnesota. They will play at twelve fifteen on Thursday into Moines Kentucky at twenty two and a half point favorite over Abilene Christian. That is a game down in Jacksonville, a Marquette four and a half point favorite over Murray. State. That's a game. The the racers will play in Hartford on on Thursday. And then the the other team from Kentucky northern Kentucky, a fourteen point underdog to Texas Tech who is one of the sleeper picks by a lot of different people across the experts across the country. Indiana's the top seed in the NFC the hoosiers will play in the tomorrow night beginning in Bloomington at seven o'clock against Saint Francis of Pennsylvania, the other number one seeds in the UNC, Greensboro TCU and Alabama Duke is on top of the AP poll the final AP poll of the season followed by Virginia and North Carolina giving the ACC one two and three in the final poll. That's the first time that that has happened in college basketball it happened one time back in the seventies. College football, the blue devils twenty nine and five or the number one seed for the tournament Kentucky number seven in the final poll there. I guess a dare I guess that the football top three were out of the SEC back in the cell. It was not. No, it was not it was I think. The big. I'll look that one up. That's a good trivia question. Yeah. I will look I will look that up Murray states. John Miranda first team all American by the United States basketball Writers Association of America. Joining Moran on the first team RJ Barrett. Talion Williamson from Duke, Tennessee's grant Williams and Gonzaga's really hush Shimura PJ Washington named third team the women selection show tonight at seven o'clock Terry on ESPN, Louisville likely number two seed could be a number one seed they're going to host next weekend. No matter what Kentucky's expected to be a five or six in Indiana was on what the the women's committee is calling the debatable eight they released it last night. Four of those eight will make the field for won't. And lastly, some sad news from horse racing pioneer the Nile the Sira for two thousand fifteen triple crown winner. American Farrell died. Suddenly today at Winstar farm that thirteen year old son of empire maker bread mayor this morning, and then started acting uncomfortable. Once he was back in his stall. He was in route to the clinic when he passed away that sports NewsRadio eight forty you're not going to save. So I am too. I will then. Instead, that's the way. That's the way to go out. I was gonna say it. He was working breathing shit. They took him back to his stoli's. I'll have one more cigarette and good night everybody. He's gone. All right. Thanks don't. Appreciate them. New york. Now citizens Union Bank. Bloomberg money news. Hello, Donna Wilson. Well, hello. We're talking about horses. Doing what nature tells them to do? It's not funny. I know one last kick and good night. Everybody. Oh god. All right now. I gotta get serious. Let me just focus. Okay. US stocks are pushing higher led by a rally in energy, and financials, the Dow is up thirty one points S and P five hundred.

"Tournament for the first time since two thousand fifteen the Wofford terriers are a force to be reckoned with right now as they reeled off twenty straight games. And we're delighted to be joined now by Wofford basketball. Coach Mike young coach, congratulations on the southern conference championship. We had one of my favorite sayings in sports on the way in when Seth Greenberg says this team is built to win because yet to meet a team that was built to lose. But that's a separate suffered the distinction, but congratulations on getting back to the big dance. Thank you very much. We are around recited down here Carolina's absolutely coaching for you. I mean, it's the fifth time now that you lead Wofford to the NC double A tournament. So what's different? And unique about this year's team. What's made it a special Ron, I'm sure each one of those times is unique in its own right here is I think what's different about this one. Several really good teams. Compare sales people, but we're six hundred sixty frontline and. Very good rebounding team and. Match better with everybody that we play you can. Eurospace perimeter. With a lotta guys if you shoot the ball. Big guy in the post that can catch. It components school. A lot of people that makes you really really tricky to to say. And that's what I have here. Twenty three. This league unblemished twenty one. Eighteen regular season games. Three here in the tournament. Is is pretty special certainly as an you should know. One of your famous Wofford grads, Wendi nix. Who does a great job for us on the NFL front is waving the Wofford terriers flag as much as she can. She is carrying that banner for your coach right now. But you mentioned a twenty twenty one zero in the conference twenty straight wins second only to Gonzaga that has to be one of the more remarkable things going forward as a coach to keep a team rested ready and hungry when they expect to win every single night. That is yet to. Here. A really register with me when Mike I mean, you know, I mean, it just takes one night one night where you're not you're not on top of your game. You don't shoot. Well. Somebody's sick. Severi rolled ankle yesterday in practice. There's so many things that go into winning. It's this level. To to rattle off that many in a row. This was the best year that I can recall the Southern Cal for spring, and I've been a part of it for a long time back with Davidson college Allston number of traditionally really, really Saul. Great schools than really good basketball programs to do it. You know, just for more for really up amazing accomplished with talking to offer men's basketball coach Mike young on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Jolan already currently has them as a seven seat right now their fifth NC double A tournament. Overall, the first since two thousand fifteen coach every you're going into the tournament. I always get cited about the stars that we see from some of the as you put it non power five schools. Maybe we don't see quite as much. You've got a guy in Fletcher McGhee who's been absolutely dynamite was the southern conference tournament MVP has been great for you guys for so long maybe for people that are going to be just getting to know Fletcher. Now, what makes this guy so special for your team? I've had a bunch of workers. I've never been around a guy that shoots like like he does. Great coach at Michigan calls them runaway shooters. Lou. Screen for him. And he can be sprinting away from the basket hundred miles an hour. And he can catch the ball and Turner year thing go and get it. Get it down got bigger Staller. Very good. I ask sleet. Here's been incredible player for us. And I will look forward to coaching here and been coaching the team in his Fletcher's. First term it, you know, while during your time at Wofford Wofford basketball, coach Mike young joining us on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Again ran through the conference twenty game winning streak heading into the NCAA tournament as we said this is your fifth trip to the tournament enforce. So you've been there before. But what would it mean for this team to finally registered that first NC double A tournament win? Should it happen? World, you know, more. We are for. It's hard. It's heck linen. That things are gonna play on the sixty eighth grade teams sixty it really good teams. You know, we've played Wisconsin and Bill Ryan and Jennifer debt BYU Michigan. We were fifteen she played the two seat with the team that advanced to the final game four. And then I look was Arkansas in two thousand fifteen when we were twelve we think we'll have a very good seed, which certainly improves your. Your chances of winning. But you know, we're going to play somebody really really good. It'll be a difficult game for us to win. But. I've got a heck of a team, and I will. Begin to tell you how excited I am to to to get there. And. Chance to. Well, listen, I I can think of twenty teams that have played you in a row and say, yeah, they would probably agree with you that you have a pretty good team again twenty one conference play a twenty game winning streak heading into the NCAA tournament. Wendi nix is blowing up my phone right now. That's getting so much offered LA. But we can't we can't get enough at that is just great coach. We appreciate you being with us. Congratulations. Maybe this is the year. We get that first NC double A tournament win. Thanks for having me on. I wish you well. Thank you so much. Thanks, very cool. I love this time of year. Well, we have corner mosier and loyal last year. We sort of adopted them on the show. It's always fun to see these guys get into the tournament. And then make these surprising. I thought Fletcher McGee a guy who had been player for them for so long mentioned getting his first tournament appearance. And we know this is part of what we always talk about college basketball has this incredible stage that can elevate these stories that can elevate the sister genes that can elevate some of these schools that we don't see all the time on TV all the time with as much exposure as the power five teams again and Mike young being there from Wofford is brought to us by Wendy's proud sponsor of the twenty thousand nineteen John r wooden player of the year. So I would imagine if Wofford does get a seven seed and gets that first NCWA tournament win Wofford in the Mike Mike young in the Wofford players will be very excited, and it'll be on television. And you'd probably be able to read their lips they'd be very excited about the things that were coming out of their mouths, but be careful when you go down that lip-reading fame because. Sometimes what you think you heard or saw isn't exactly what you heard or saw. And we'll have someone explain that. In a very interesting way. Mike, we'll get to that in a minute. We'll get some straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless picture. This your favorite team is playing. You're streaming the game. There's ten seconds left your team shoots and. Oh, God your data runs out. Don't let that happen. Whatever you do do not.

"Hundred six three six eight six eight six we are efforting the head basketball coach at Wofford Mike young he has been on the program before. In fact, back in two thousand fifteen and then in December two thousand seventeen for good reason or reset that momentarily. At Jack, Arkansas tweets, Manziel may be banned from the CFL. But he is always welcome here. Sincerely, proactive war. Dermatology. Say what I've not missed out at all. I have not missed that at all any of that. But I knew that it would be reset as soon as asteroid broke yesterday. Right. So again want to get into what that means. We don't know exactly why he got broken off. We know that the CFL said not only are the Alawites not keep him. But none of the other teams in league and sign him because he violated terms of his agreement. We don't know exactly what the agreement was. We know what he said when he signed there. It was pretty extensive. But we don't know exactly what was in the language, but an exactly what was in the contract, which is no that he violated it and didn't make it a year. They're now he's free to come back to the US and play ball here. If somebody will take him and somebody might. Meantime, as we are efforting, Mike young telephone number is toll free one eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. Let's go the phones we go to the bay Mike in the bay. It's good to have you, Mike. How are you? Rummy? Pam my started with the Lakers and your open and that travesty of a game. Did you see Staples? Last night place was bumping harder than the cat house. I raise been living in. Tell my fellow delusional Laker fan. Riding with a team that's utter garbage. But starting with that bag himself. Lebron Jimmy LeBron knows bonds when he sees them, right? Like Jacko said, here's the bronze starting with the mirror. Remember when all those blue checks were wigging out about somebody spray painting over LeBron's mural because this is Titletown Jimmy the Lakers are about rings when when LeBron and you you mentioned in the same breath as the other legend Jimmy LeBron becoming another glorified wanker who lumbers around hoisting contested threes from Mars and then shadowboxing back on the this is worse than Kobe's victory lap season. The only thing worse. More spotty than feature legacy is that dome on top of head. Speaking of spotty and wanker Jim memo to all the Bob Kraft Puritans out. They're freaking out about some blue hair getting up to a little time. Twenty nineteen guys. We bigger problems to address I'm with Iraq. Keep it moving. Jimmy, look at me a three went out for life giving shout outs. The Boston smacking on the lakes. I guess I have come to terms are after all with living outside of LA appear in this earthquake ridden more hills and Geospace of town or resetting the size eleven call from eleven eleven eleven I'm out that's Mike in the bay. There is nothing about that. Nothing right about that. Call and yet I didn't want it to end. Mike in the bay. All right. So when I said that I was looking for somebody to step up and make a name for themselves. When I said that I'm the idol maker when I said, I can help you be famous. That's not what I meant. All right. Somebody else though, you see what I'm offering a head coach the head coach is locked in. And then we can't find that head coach. That means there's an opportunity for you to step in. And that guy tried. It didn't work, but he tried. Again, back LeBron set when LeBron got here. Lebron said I've got nothing to prove. Yes. And no, yes. And no, I mean, it's legacy is pretty much intact. But it doesn't mean that he can show up for four years, and do whatever the hell he wants not make the postseason or make the postseason not advance. And then not have that stick to him. A free spin for four years. And that's obviously not the case. Again, if this guy is not get to the postseason in literally nobody who matters wants to come run with him that will stick to him. No matter what he thinks. He can't wreck his legacy, but he can ding his legacy not getting into the postseason. This is not a good. Look not getting into the postseason in the next two years is a really damaging look. All right, meantime, we're joined right now by the head basketball coach at Wofford seventeen years as head coach these southern conference coach of the year three times in the last decade, the Naismith men's coach of the year nominee there. The second longest winning streak in the nation. Number twenty four in the AP for the first time in school history there at Chatanooga tonight, we're joined by Mike young, Mike. It is good to have you back on the program. How are you? Great. Thanks. Thanks for having me on Mike me reset this you and I spoke in two thousand fifteen and we spoke in December two thousand seventeen right after fifth ranked North Carolina in the deem dome. I knew that was a huge win. But right now you and I are talking about the program being ranked in the top twenty five for the first time in school history. So let me ask you the question. I asked you after that win over North Carolina. How 'bout them terriers? How about interiors, Jim? I I've told people for a long time now not gonna try to sugar coated walk things back set for a long time. I've got a really good team. Really good guys. And we've had some good fortune. But I've got a number of guys can choose. I've got a post player in there that I can throw the ball to expect something good to happen. We're having a wonderful time. We'll get another big one in here tonight. Man. That's great. I love hearing that Mike young my guests. Am I told my CBS calling Matt norlander that you were watching film with players on Monday. When suddenly everybody's phone started going off. And then the word came in the fact ranked number twenty four nationally what was that moment? Like for the team. It was great. That was awesome. That's heavy stuff. When you consider the people just ahead of us behind us. For Wofford college to have that kind of recognition. It's been it's been great for me. It's been great for the past four. Prove it's been great for our college community in the sport were community. And it's warranted. They haven't given us anything we've earned it how you rattle off, you know, fifteen sixteen straight. However, many it's been consider. We haven't lost in two months. Twenty four four four losses are pretty good programs. Most Carolina Kansas Oklahoma, Mississippi State, a lot to be proud of. This is exactly what I was going to rattle off next. Mike young my guess, Mike when you look at it, you are twenty four and four, and as you mentioned the four losses are against and let me reiterate North Carolina, Oklahoma, Kansas Mississippi State, you also ministered a twenty point beat down a South Carolina. Now you and I have talked in the past about your willingness to schedule up what have you taken away from those games against powerhouses this year? I just. Complete games that we haven't played the caliber people, you know in our league. This league is really good. Jim. That's the best southern conference top to bottom that I've been a part of. And I've been a part of a lot of them just the attention to detail and finishing games. It does it people. Don't care we lost. All right. It's about winning. And losing. It's not not not close isn't good enough. We letter were tied under ten in each of those four losses. Wheels came off and fog Allen Fieldhouse that happens to a lot of people. But you know, we were right there in each of those. And I think, you know, gave us here we entered league play that got to play forty and. You know, we've locked onto some things offensively. Our defense is very underrated this bunch of guards, and we're rebound into high level. So, you know, a lot of positives. Mike young my guest, and you're sixteen and own conference in that includes a season sweep of Furman who had previously been ranked in the top twenty five, and as you point out, Mike the conference is as good as you've seen top to bottom. Now, you have not lost since December nineteenth you already clinched the conference regular season title. So what is your message to your guys to make sure they're locked in the rest of the way, and they don't let the hype get to them. I I watch them. I very careful about it. Was the enormity of the situation. Getting too much for them knows the answer. There's a healthy amount of humility they understand. And we talk about it. You get on your high horse and start feeling good about yourself. Going to be a bad come across your kneecaps. And that doesn't feel very good. Got great internal leadership free seniors that all play a lot of minutes. In a really good players, and they take care of things in that locker room. When when I'm not around they understand. But tonight is the biggest game on our schedule. And you know. They're having a great time having a blast and who continue to play well to continue to play unselfishly and with toughness. You know, I I've got I I have very few concerns about that. I'm having a great time. Talking Walker basketball, Mike young and the head coach is joining us one of those guys Mike you talked about I'm assuming Fletcher McGee, and he's been a monster few again this season second in NCAA history and three pointers he's passing guys like Steph curry in JJ Redick can you take me back when you were first recruiting him. What do you remember about that time? And did you know, then how good he could be? No, not be less than honest with you. If I told you I did. I'm not that good of an evaluator. But knew he was going to be good. We call a break jam this can happen. Some he played on a radio you team. Ben Simmons Antonio lately with issues now in the NBA berry Brown, I think is his name. You'll mad at Kansas state. Who's terrific. We covet guys that can really shoot it. If you can't shoot we're not going to recruit you. And I thought this kid was one of those guys just shot the leather off of it. What I didn't understand his high school coach great coach. Chris vary told me that nobody you've ever had. We'll work like he does. And that's that's the that's the truth. He went to a YMCA this morning at eight AM. They game. He didn't feel quite comfortable with his shot last night and got got shots. So for thirty minutes before we went over to shoot around. He's a remarkable guy. And he's been incredible amount of fun to coach. And watching developing him become the player that that he's become Mike listening to you right now. It's clear to me. Once again, you're never going to be satisfied. You're not gonna be satisfied. I know you wanna win every single game with you feel like you've already done enough to clinch and out large bid. Jeremiah head. Asked that question in in in understanding, you do I we've never been here. All right. So I don't know what it feels like no we're in. This is the Atlantic coast conference where teams are going to get in the only reference I have. You're going to Asheville and knowing you got to win three games and represents the southern conference tournament. So I don't have those feelings. So we've got to win one more. We're in. We gotta do that. You know tonight aren't that feed? That's all we've got. Okay. Let's play well tonight. Let's go to Sanford on on Saturday. So that's how we're playing it. I have no idea. I don't wanna leave it in anyone else's hands. This is about our team win win and play. Well, and that's you know, that's our feeling that's him. Mike, you've got your destiny and your own hands. The last thing you want to do is have somebody else. Take a bat to your kneecaps. We don't want that Wofford Chatanooga tonight, seven PM eastern day are in the AP poll for the first time in school history. Mike what a great conversation. Great to have you on good luck tonight. And I hope you, and I are having a conversation again not that far down the road. If you know what I mean, I'd love to Jim. I always enjoy your work me. Really? Appreciate you. Mike great to have you back. Good luck tonight. And I really do hope we talk again soon, Mikey young. That was a blast Wofford. He's in this. He's in his seventeenth season as head coach there. But he's been there thirty years going back to when they were a D to program, and he's got them in the top twenty five right now and another big. Win tonight. They're at Chatanooga seven PM eastern when we return we talked to a senior guard for the Houston Cougars, Corey Davis junior. So we go back back, then I open.
"wofford" Discussed on Behind the Bets
"Like, I'm going to bet on them. Let's say I'm going to back eight Matt Matt says buying washing Wofford VCU, Texas Tech the rest of the way, I'm gonna back Texas Tech this week, and I'm gonna back Tennessee against Kentucky. Meaning I'm going to bet on them. They are a bit on game. So they're going to show support with your dollar. There you go and fade. Is the opposite. So it's funny that you mentioned that because I believe in the D S S space the daily fantasy sports fading means like passing but in the betting space for the most part fading means betting against so actively against not just passing. So there's a voiding there's passing stay away. Those are terms that you would think you know, that but fading is like so like he said he's going to fade Nevada down the stretch, meaning bet against them by doing that, you bet on whoever they're playing, okay. So I'm going to fade, Nevada and the next three games. Meaning I'm going to bet on their opponent that the next three game. So he's going to fade Nevada in this case, he's going to bet on Utah state. And so, but it's more plausible because he liked that was more the philosophy was more bet on Utah state. So it wasn't like a fade innovator fading Nevada's a general comment down like I don't want any part of them. And I'm gonna look to bet against them in many spots. So I am fading Georgia. Excuse me, Virginia tonight. So it's not like, I love Georgia Tech. This is more of a bet against Virginia. So I'm fading Virginia right now in what's essentially a flat spot coming off a couple of big wins against rival Virginia. And then Louisville coming back with a ten point deficit at halftime. Okay. I also got one more question for absolutely continue this open space here. No, judging just pure confessions of a non gambler in one match up. You also sit you're going to split a unit right tunnel. That means either meaning first-half game. He said, okay. So what happens is a lot of gamblers. It's all based on like unit size. I am not like that. Usually like, the math model guys are because they're very math driven and they wanna be disciplined. But. You know, Matt is not a math model guy. But he's definitely disciplined. So let's say if your regular bed is fifty bucks, or let's say, it's a hundred bucks. You would do fifty on the first half fifty on the game. So there are point spreads for everything in the NBA. You can bet first-quarter first half, you know, second half game line, whatever most people we typically on this podcast and everywhere else talk about the game line, but occasionally based on your line of thinking, which is also called the handicapped, you you're now SIS can factor in the first half like New Mexico. Just a she's me. Nevada just a very slow starting steam. So he's going to split up his bets tonight with Illinois Purdue Purdue also a slow starting team. He's gonna put half his bet what he normally bets on a game. He's gonna put half of it on the first half and half of it on the game line entering the bet. So you can always second half to different. But what he's going to split it up. And sometimes that's a smart way of going about things if you think your analysis is more. Pronounced in a first-half bet. So like last Saturday Saturday and Sunday in the NBA, the Spurs lost at the Knicks. They were embarrassed the Lakers lost at New Orleans embarrassed. The warriors lost at home to the rockets. And then the Sixers were completely embarrassed at home, although to a good team in the blazers will Monday, I said, I would bet all four first quarter teams in sort of like bounceback spots conventionally, oh, it's better in the game line. Well, if you're if you're now just for the game line is that you think they're gonna start strong. Why not do the whole bit about start the start? Right. It's all about like coming back and focusing and starting strong than make the bet more focused on the str- start which would be in the NBA I quarterback, and they went to and to those. I those four I quarterbacks, but sometimes you can bet first team to score ten points..

"And it looks like underdogs have done better here in the last couple of years, then what they did before. So, you know, the the underdog statistics that I gave you before or not really strong. But recently they've done pretty well. And I think that makes sense based on I, you know, as we look at the landscape of 'em is right now. All right. So let's get into some game breakdown sear, and we'll go ahead and start actually on Thursday nights. I know we will look ahead to some weekend games here. But will also take a look at the Thursday night card game down in the so Conwy recently talked about the so con in one of our conference breakdowns. I think that was maybe it was either last Friday or last Monday, one of the two about Wofford and east. Tennessee State is the game that you have your eye on for Thursday night. I was hoping you were gonna ask me you weren't gonna ask me when we talked about that. I really I really don't know. It's all kind of going together but Wofford in east Tennessee State Wofford is undefeated in the conference so far this year. They're the best team in the league. But I don't know that they're that much better than east Tennessee, I'm carrying this line will be we'll Wofford favorite here on the road. I'm not sure they will be. I see Ken palm has them projected to win. That's when by point. I think if I had to take his side here like an state, you couldn't see states that good team as far as defensively, they think create some turnover there good on the glass or a member of talking about that. When we spoke about them in this conference walford very reliant on the point. I mean, they're very good at it. They should forty point eight percent in the conference shooting. Forty three point one percent from three point range, so very very good shooting team. But I mean, this is a team. Team and east Tennessee State. That's very good defensively. Very well coached, you know, I think that this could be a spot where Wofford gets tripped up. You know, it wouldn't surprise me at all. I mean clearly Wofford's in offense of juggernaut. But you know, they're up against a really good defense here. It's important to point out that these two teams split the series last year and each team warm on the road. So those teams have proven they can win on the road, you know, Wofford's better than they were last year there quite a bit better than they were last few mainly because their defense improved a lot some last season. He's Tennessee day to team that is also somewhat better this year than they were year ago primarily because you know, they're rebounding really really well and they're a little bit better on offense. And they were last season. I as I said before I really think east Tennessee coaches underrated done a very good job every year replacing quite a bit to me. This is one of those spots where Wofford. Word comes in here undefeated in the league, they're gonna lose at some point in this league. I'd be really surprised if they don't this looks like a spot that that could be there. When you look when these teams last played they played on December first longtime ago, very very early start to conference play. Then. In fact, these seems got back into the non-conference portion of the season right after that Wofford won that game seventy nine to sixty two. They did win that game at home and also frees Tennessee State that game gave up one point one six seven points per possession their worst defensive effort of the season. So maybe they do button it up here a little bit in this particular spot. But as you mentioned for Wofford, and this is something you can look at with UNC Greensboro here in this conference as well. I don't think Wofford's really been tested on the road. I mean, they did blow out Greensboro for Greensboro only loss, but Greensboro, I think by all accounts is kind of a smoke and mirrors team in this conference right now. You know? I mean, I've Greensburg record and league better than what they are. I don't think there are bad team. But but yeah, I mean, this is going to be the toughest or Wofford profit road game yet. And you know, you couldn't say doesn't exactly come into this game in any kind of bad spot..
