"I i will. I will die on that hill. What he's able to do a sport that's non you can't dominate it. And he did it for so long. So i'm kind of freaking out. And so i kind of just sit down casually trying not to pretend like i'm freaking out and tigers. Hey trae i'm a a hey tiger what's up you know. And just sorta sit down for a few minutes. And then he has to leave and then stewart leave so then. I'm like freaking out that you know. Hey i sat down and had lunch with tiger and he knew who i was so i run the elevator bank and i have my old cellphone begin to call my dad. I'm calling my dad and the elevator doors open and you know i'm buried in my phone so i start walking into the elevator before people are walking out of the elevator and i slam into this giant human being and it looks me wingo. Watch where you're going. Sorry michael ads on me about about a ten minute stead. We went from tiger knowing william to michael jordan. Zing watch where you're going. And then when i finally got to tell my really called my dad and we had a good time with that one. That is very cool. You and your life. Because i feel like there might be a makers market night. There's probably a beautiful golf course in the morning. And this is during your. Espn days your post espn days. I feel like there's a decent chance of finding golf is. That's i'm looking at the fairway right there. Even as we speak teatime at two o'clock this afternoon my friend so yeah. I love golf. Golf is the ultimate challenge to me because boring. Golf is the best gov. But you never really feel that. Well when you're playing. Well you know what i mean. You're always waiting. I don't like what you're handicapped you would. I mean i honestly would probably shoot ninety five ninety eight okay. See i'm the worst. I'm like a nine. Because i think i'm really good but i'm really not so every time you're out there. You're just waiting for the wheels to fall off. But that's that's the allure of the sport to me. Like i can play three holes in a row the birdie three holes three or four holes and i still in break eighty you just for that collapsed all the time and it's such a mental challenge. And that's why what happened with phil. Yesterday was just absolutely ridiculous. Winning the pg. I don't know when this is airing..

"Sort of interesting. How you sometimes think you know somebody really well and get along but you think back and you know you'd never worked together. Don't really know each other that well for me. Trey wingo go is one of those guys. I knew of him. He was in saint. Louis i was working in other markets but it was my hometown so i kept tabs on what was happening around here. Trey was at. Kay's decay channel five in saint louis from nineteen ninety one to nineteen ninety seven and i moved back home in the of ninety seven and we would talk and visit a bit out in the field as reporters. Maybe at rams park. Maybe a cardinal game and I just felt like we knew each other pretty well. I'd sima can't over the years covering different rams players going into the pro football hall of fame and We always seem to get along well but we really didn't know each other for a very long stretch here in saint louis but wanted to talk to him because he had a great run at espn. And what did talk about the early days for those who don't remember. Espn news was sorta like aaa. They would hire these anchors and if you did well at. Espn will then they bump you over to espn. And i'm sure it had to be a little bit cutthroat in for trae he got those reps over the espn. All of a sudden. He became sort of their nfl guy. And if alive. Nfl the draft hosting the coverage from the pro football hall of fame. every summer. we talk a little bit about the career at espn first time. He ran into chris. Berman which had to be sort of surreal as all the kids that we were grown up watching. Espn and for trae. It happened in the bathroom in bristol. Connecticut former high school classmate of Steve young or at least same high school. there. I think a year apart New that believe it or not. We do a little research on the kilcoyne conversation. So trey wingo formerly south of espn and that's That's part of the topic as well. What happened at the end. He was doing radio wing. Go look replacing. The mike and mike show that have been on for like two decades and maybe trae was a little too honest not wanting to do morning radio. He talks about that. What goes into doing that job on a national level Fun espn stories also. What's next sort of a deep teas. That he's got a lot of things potentially coming down the road And his time in saint louis was not a glorious sports time. Certainly the blues and brad hall. Were the story. The cardinals were down at that stretch although the russa came. You're right at the end of trays. Time in saint louis but baseball cardinals weren't very good. Football cardinals laughed. Trae covered some of those expansion meetings when they didn't get thee stallion's and was here for the beginning of the football rams and you know as we discussed. They weren't very good. He's has saint louis mansion. Thank him for leaving. Because once he left things picked up for natalie the rams but the baseball cardinals. And i guess eventually with the blues winning a stanley cup so trey wingo is our guest kilcoyne conversation..

"That musically here underscoring is from my son musical producers sam brad neon below. His new hip used by brian. Neal wanna let you know. This is going to be a special podcast. Trey wingo voice. Espn for so long until basically a month ago when he's moved on started on podcast but trays a person that was so good to everyone at espn most popular people there. It was good to get him on to talk about his life at. Espn is like before his pin. What's going on in the nfl. This year is projections about the super bowl and playing with covid and where he's gone since. Espn in new podcast than the people talking to so without further. Do on the business of sports podcast this week. The one and only trey wingo one of the podcast could to talk to. You always been a friend to me into so many ideas pianist. Great to have you on. Well you clearly didn't meet enough people at espn. But but thank you for that. I i always enjoyed hanging out with you. I thought you brought a really unique perspective to what we were trying to do in the shows that that wasn't there filled by a coach for by player. And i think some so many times when we talk football specifically the nfl you know it always is about the game. It's never about the game but the game or the business dictates the game. And and that's what i really appreciated about the times that you and i did shows together. It was interesting there because of the guys would come to me now and then and producers and would say is we really should be talking about. You know we'll end. I think it's just what you said. I'm like now front offices. Don't really talk about that. You know when sometimes they will. They're probably talking about this but they're really not in the things. I think the media mix a bigger deal than people in the game and hopefully i brought that perspective. But what was really nee- about working with you. Because sometimes i'd be on outside lines or it'd be another show you'd be doing. Nfl live and people don't know yet these the spn to sort of be in this pod. But i think you more than most people there were kind of. I don't know if you had this extrasensory. But you'd be sort of chime in on this pod over here with this group and we won't say yeah but you can have that and you're should been in a lot of different conversations no matter what you're working on. That sounds like i'm just a really neat bastard. I just felt the need to inject my my stupid opinions into with shouting distance. I don't know if that's a pro or con..

"Nine Anyway is kinda funny franken now but you know two thousand six the official launch. I thank you so it was just invertebrate. Yes but in the early years people were doing a lot of stuff on twitter and a lot of people were breaking storks women. We pay you to break the stories on our lessons. We had this giant meeting twitter and at the time. I remember thinking in my head this is. This isn't right. I eating with outlive all on your people in the basis. Unless we own your sports takes we own your sports so if you want to go on twitter you can talk about whatever you want religion sex. Whatever you want to talk about sports. And i'm saying to myself lurs agile bad. That sells tweeted after that meeting. I like sports. I think this is still okay and it turns out the opposite is what ended up happening. What should i. Don't talk about those things to talk about starts so it took like to your point. They there was a shift. They had the curse crampton and get back on below. Everyone did for lots of years. Always i always find it. Funny that people look at. Espn like whoa. Look what they vegas. We were the biggest hershman in the room. You know. I mean the company and the number of the outreach. In the number of employees as opposed to any other sports album we to work you know just by sheer size. I mean the number of people unemployed is a small town. So you know you're going to have all the slow situation papa. Small town happened at. Espn people go. How can that happen. It's it's it's a mac version you know it's it's a ratio as what it is more than anything else and i think sometimes people forget that. Yeah people i'll have. Espn is certainly pr. People say hey you know you know you guys. Don't cover a if fox if if one personality does something or an embassy Sports personality does something. You don't cover it as hard as these realities. Yeah that's true. You know what like. Switzerland isn't covered as hard as the united states when it comes to global impact. And there's a reason though maybe it should be. Maybe we should all be switzerland. No but you're right. I mean then wasn't that hasn't gone unnoticed by all of us. Who at the time of like feels like okay making a big deal out of this. But they're not making a big deal out of that. I'm not gonna name any. I'm not gonna point examples but you can certainly find them if you choose of course all right. Let's finish up with this trey and i appreciate. I've enjoyed this conversation. I appreciate your honesty You know you. You're you're launching the series of Audio video podcasts. Which i have no doubt will be Will be creatively fawn and an interesting. But you know. I think certainly if you are interested in staying in television some capacity that should be out therefore you so like. Where does your interest lie in doing doing like a traditional some kind of traditional television. Let's say nfl related thing. Like i'm gonna have to name any specific employers but you know whether it's traditional linear network. Where this. I'm like a digital brands out there. There's obviously never ending interest. Nfl content and your a very prominent person who has talked about the nfl for a couple of decades. So where do you stand on this stuff. Listen yeah i look i love. I'm not and by the way it's going to get this plug in here. I think it's really easy to criticize. Nfl other trying to manage as go situation. And i would say to them okay. Fine. where did this grew up. How many how they did it wrong. And let me know because i i along the podcast for us. But he's much longer at the end of the day. The only trying to make is at the end of the day. You're trying to play a game in which physical contact is required on every play in a pandemic. So more than that. If you're if you're not going to bubble a forget about like the larger philosophy. Should they play. They're playing and then you go on the larger question. Is you know it. Was there an environment. They could have played in a bubble. And i don't know i don't know the answer i i just don't think logistically realistically that would have been the case. Starting basically for twenty two weeks. If you're talking about right i understand that. Yep it's not the nba nhl correct the and and the nhl didn't with fewer teams down the stretch for just a few games so they could in in the in bosnia. I think i'm an easy to take shots out of. Will this a welcoming. We've gone to week twelve. We saw that game cancelled. We're on the precipice with this ravens steelers game. We still haven't had a game cancel. I think is pretty by the way for most of you. Most most of you listening to this show that will be resolved either way they will have either played or you'll be enjoying. Try it. I when this game will eventually be grim grin so i guess to answer your question Those were having all kinds of discussions and very fortunate and a lot of people are should discussion. So you know something coming. I just can't say yet underwear. And i thankfully have the ability to pick and choose so you know and i i didn't you know i don't i didn't by seventeen lamborghinis also mart. You only need twelve honestly so that happened when it happens in. We'll we'll have announced about that then. By the way there should be no lamborghinis in the winter of connecticut. I mean basically just exactly to tire issue all right. Listen let's give no doubt you will see trey wingo somewhere in the future that i would. I would bet pretty highly on that one. All right as i said at the top trey. Wingo is the host of the half forgotten history. Podcast that debuts this week head to i tunes or stitcher or google play sign up for that subscribe for that is trae indicated at the top of this. You're going to have some very very well known people who are Telling these stories. And i think on a personal note for trae. I just think it's gonna be fun for him to get creative into sort of his own producer and a lot of talent does not get that kind of opportunity. so that's going to be actually super super matter fund. Listen trae. I know you have not given one of these long interviews yet about this so i really appreciate you coming on. You know. it's not anything. "Richard yes As part of the tributes that i saw on social media to you. Bob lee cited that you to hosted sportscenter on september eleventh. I forgot net. I'm not sure i've ever asked you about this. Trae but can you take me back to that show and And what it was like to be on the set on that day when information. I'm sure in real time is still coming at you. Don't know what we certainly know. Now man that and your that's twenty one thousand nine years ago you much younger guy. That must've been men that must have been surreal but but also very important day in your in your professional career. Yeah listen every year on nine eleven pop. Is that each other. And it's just one of the things that we do because it was just the craziest day well rare. Most about this day is as i was leaving to going to work morning. Twin towers already been struck in a point out the driveway on went off driving to work on my helmet driving workday. What am i going to possibly say that matters in any way shape or form so we were in there and we're all just trying to figure out what to do and i was being distinct opinion. We should just see our time. Abc news just take over the channel way. More important things than fricken sports tonight. That was one of the darkest days in american history. And i was pretty adamant about and then we had a bunch of meetings and bob was pretty adamant the away which was look. This is a day in us history and we are a sports company. We need to chronicle how supports reacted to the bombings of nine. Eleven for history. He was absolutely right. And i i was. It took a long time. But they came around his way of thanking. We're supposed to just do a thirty minutes. Show that they stayed on the air for two and a half hours to actually will often is the rest of that week. The only ones center the entire week was monday. Through friday was is there. Monday was tuesday. Yeah keep talking. I'll find that out either. Monday or tuesday and we did shows that entire week. Just the two of us tuesday. Yup yup and i don't wanna say it was great but it was it was it was on You know and and not to be with him and do that again to this day every day nine eleven we make sure we catch up guy you know the work that he is peon wiped also reach out to every day. He had a lot of his buddies at work to cantor fitzgerald lost seven of his friends. So i made sure i read to him every nine eleven as well but that was look. If you're asking me you know moments at espn right way up there for a really weird.

"Host of the half forgotten. History podcast half forgotten history. Podcast check that out on. I tunes stitcher or google play and trey and i have. What i thought was a terrific conversation about him. Starting new podcast series. Why he's no longer at. Espn from his perspective. How it happened the Sort of his thought about taking the radio job with mike golic and what that ultimately meant for his future Working at espn for as long as he did hosting sportscenter on nine eleven. What what he thinks. Espn will be heading forward The impact of social media. Spn and what trays thinking about necks Probably the i think it's not probably think it's the first. He's really gone in depth about Y espn opted not to resign him. So really interesting in depth conversation with trey wingo. Enjoy it coming up on the sports media. Podcast right as i said at the top. Trey wingo really does not need introduction for this audience. If you're listening to a sports media podcast you probably know trey wingo is he he joined. Espn nineteen ninety-seven and An anchored pretty much any kind of sport that they had on including sportscenter well known as the host of the nfl draft. He is now The host of the half forgotten history. Podcast which he will tell us about and I've certainly talked to many times over the years and pleased to be joined by trey. Wingo trey thanks for joining us on the sports media. Podcast richard home. Are you man. I'm good All right so trey we will get to. We'll get espn and a little bit. Let's i you know as as you know if you start new podcast you have to promote and you also are smart to go on other people's podcasts. Because naturally that is an audience that listens to audio. What is the half. Forgotten history podcast. And how often will you do it. And how did it come about the richard. I appreciate you asking us questions. Half forgotten history drops. Its first episode on wednesday which would be december second. The premise of the show is a is basically sort of came to me after all these years because i got a chance to raise people in nfl history for a long time and just chopping it up with them and mostly most interesting conversations to me. Came away from the camera away from the microphone. We were just either in the green room or after dinner somewhere maybe with a cocktail in our hands. Chopping it up about the stuff that i know and they know about some of the greatest moments in football history but nobody else knows so the whole premise. Let's bring everybody behind the curtain and we're really excited about at state farm. Mcdonald's and maker's mark have stepped up this season. We're really excited about it. And it's basically just conversations with hall of famers his players Great small the dumbest moments and the most incredible moments that you think you know. You just don't know to quote the great you more. That's gonna be a lot of fun. The first episode is wednesday with all of famer. Kurt warner and we discussed everything including was at one time. Greatest lie over twelve which turned out to be needed. In greatest truth coverage hold in history for first of all congrats on some big-time sponsors. So ready ahead of the curve. They're one of the things when i listened to the The teaser which is up. Now go to i tunes basically you could start. Subscribing to trade podcast. You want to catch it richard. Let's be clear wherever you enter. Podcasts trust me. This is this is this is. This is an ad encourage zone. So feel free to hype up whatever you would like so. I heard like one of the house. How you phrased it on your podcast on your podcast. Teaser was trey wingo presents. Which which sort of which to me. Sort of intuitively would make me ask the question. Do you like our. Is it your goal to have a production company. Is this the first in a series of podcast. What does even if that is not a real company at the moment. what does that represent. That is just letting everybody know. This is only phase. We're going to be doing a lot of these things and this is the first one out of the gate because it made sense. We're launching in football season but trey wingo presents for lack of better terms the overall arm of where you'll get all the stuff that comes out of out if you if you were visually listening to this would be my lovely par basement. We're going to be doing a lot of these podcasts. So this is just this is just phase one. There's a lot more to come. That i can't really say now but maybe i can't say a few weeks but right now this is just phase one of what we're going to do it really excited about the Before we espn. I want to ask you this because obviously is not something i've experienced want. You are setting up like a podcast studio like an in your house or in your basement like what has to happen. Whatever whatever the people who come in they come in and they do what exactly you know. We have. A couple of lights in here are really nice microphone. Just make it a little more funny like down here. We're trying to do it. And they just looked at the bar and said that looks like a set. Somebody built for this show and i said well i guess i'm just extending my life. You know our doing this so yeah. The whole premise of the thing was sit around chopping up with friends. And you know just have those conversations that you would have out of our if you could go to a bar in this day and age. So it's going to be an outlet like that and and they just put a couple of nights in your microphone and it just worked out. I mean the way we hoping. It looks like it was made to be a sec. So okay let's go. This'll be will this be in video form as well i can get on. Youtube is in addition audience. Absolutely get it on a on when youtube channel facebook. It'll be on twitter instagram. So well i mean one of the things you worked at. Espn for a long time. And this is just interesting in that you now are going to own your own content. You know one of the obviously you know one of the one of the great things about espn of course is like they have the mega microphone. They have the incredible distribution. They pay you very well but they own. They own everything you do. They own everything you say they everything you put out so this is unique right. I mean now you not only do you have to be a content provider but in a sense. You're also a little bit of an entrepreneur right. Yeah it's fun. I mean. I had always been i mean whether it was an espn and before that six years an nbc affiliate in st louis for two years and independent station allentown pennsylvania but two years abc affiliate in binghamton new york. So i had only been. Hey we will hire you and you will do this for us. But in the day and age that we live in More and more people because the ability you have to get out and distribute what you think you want people to see our or what you what you think people would want to see is so much easier to do it another way and it does give you a lot more freedom so this is really really fun for me after doing it the old way.
'Big Ten United': Football players share list of demands for upcoming season
"The big news yesterday in the college football world revolves around the Big 10 where over 1000 athletes signed a unity proposal. Essentially Unity Group submitted a proposal to the Big 10 Conference Ryan and they have a list of demands. And this This is very different, at least for now. From the Pac 12 Pac 12. We all know made a list of demands included money and social justice and covert 19 testing. This is all from the big Then, at least for now, about how covert 19 going to be handled, and I think what we heard is we came in was the word trust. A lot of the demands in this to me speak to a lack of trust between the players and the conference to know what's happening and how it's happened. Will you think about it like this? You have players said to report what today Friday. It's coming, and they don't even know What the terms are to keep them safe. And that's the problem. This letter points out so many different things. We need to understand the testing procedures. We need to have the procedures that make us feel safe. We need to make sure that we're not going to be put in a position to get sick. But it also mentions the lack of leadership that's been demonstrated by the A and asked the to come in and try to figure this thing out along with the conference is not just on the conferences for them well, and that's such a smart point. Because one of the reasons those people scratch your head and said wire conference is getting rid of out of conference opponents. And why are they coming? Sort of back in house? Couple of reasons. One it gives them flexibility was scheduling. Sure it's a little easier to do that. But the second part of it is there was a lot of concern that not every conference was going to align and how testing should be handled where the testing would come from. So it was labeled as a health decision, But I find it interesting that one of the things proposed Is 1/3 party that would implement covert testing an enforced all covert healthy 19 health and safety restrictions. So they want all restrictions and testing handled by somebody that has no skin in the game, which to me, speaks to the players not trusting the schools to actually do the right thing with the

Just being really yesterday was a sad day because we got the first domino as two days ago, the Ivy League announced that they were postponing all fall sports well yesterday, the Big 10 came in and sort of shocked many people buy. Serious heart condition. Sickle cell disease type two diabetes. And then there's this one Mike, which is the first place I went when I saw this list. Ah, B m I r a body mass index. Of 30 or higher and let me be clear, according to the BM. If you have a body mass index of 30 hire your clinic are technically obese. Now. A lot of people would have some disputes with that, and I can understand why. But if you're talking about a B m E of 30 you have just described literally. Every single offensive lineman currently signed to a roster probably even go lesson that toe linebacker and or tight and I'll get to the heights and weights in a minute and understand when they had say all these things. It's not only the players, but remember, the NFL is not going to be in a bubble, so players are going to be going to practice. Flying two trips and then coming home to family. So again, you're going to be involved in, you know, are you single that may have have Ah say on if you're going to play You're married. You have young kids, You know that You're coming home to every day from practice or from runaway trip. So And what if some one of those kids you know if they have a weakened immune system, Do you want to take that chance? So this is not just the player himself, but also the family as well. But as Faras, the bm is now there are tons of charts author. I just kind of picked a chart that basically be, am I, you know Everybody understand. You know the height and your body weight your body Mass. So it gives you how how tall you are and the wait for your B and I, And there's a lot of discrepancy about there is soul. Listen, As I said, I picked up a chart. I'm sure people will tweeted ecological lingo, different charts. If you can't great because I'd like to see some different ones because some of them you look at our like, Wait a minute like the one I'm looking at right now. Says last I checked a six foot tall is 72 inches, Correct? Yes. Yeah, Okay. Just wanted to make sure that your question is good If you're six foot tall and you weigh £221 You are right at 30 bmo. You're right at the obese, which is ridiculous. If you're and then just keep going up because you start look at tight ends. Linebackers. Obviously, offensive lineman. They're usually that you know, anywhere from six to toe got 68 Let's go to like 65 Okay, six foot five. Or 64 76 inches, 64 If you weigh £246. That's beyond my 30. According to this chart, you are considered a
Jazz's Gobert says sense of smell 'still not 100%'
"Lost this sense of taste and a sense of smell, and three months later, Rudy Gobert says, My sense of taste has returned. But my sense of smell still hasn't all the way And he says, I feel weird sometimes, but I don't know if it's because of the Corona virus still lingering or whether or not I just haven't worked out enough. And Donovan Mitchell, his teammate who tested positive that same day or the day after never had a symptom, right that that's the weird part about this is you Can't say if you get this virus X Y and Z will happen to you because we've seen this run across the spectrum from people having. No issues with it and significant issues with it, depending on who you are and how it affections and I know we're saying basically the same thing over and over again. It's we just have to wait and see. Wait and see MLS, which is going to play down in Disney, a CZ. Well, they've had under a 3% positive. Test rate, which is a great percentage for them again while they're going down there. Remember the WN BA is going to be in breakdown at the academy in Florida. So this is it. You know, we talked about the long runway for sports, especially football. Where we're about. There is July is going to bring the start of a CZ. We already saw the first team sports. Starting is the women's soccer league, which is playing in Utah. Their tournament and now we're starting to ramp up amidst. Many positive tests in sports and a lot outside of sports in the in these particular states as well, So I know we may sound like a broken record, but it's just waiting and waiting. And I really think we say fingers crossed and hope that's going really is going to be a lot of it. I mean, your work. You're starting your starting your seasons under a cloud, right? And it is a hell of a dangerous call that could be hanging over all our heads. So what's
NFLPA's Smith: Workouts go against player safety
"Figure out what is the right way for players to get ready to play in the NFL. Without undue risk, and the undue risk this offseason is exposure to the thing that for a long time shutdown all sports in this country, the Corona virus in the cove in 19 pandemic, So we've seen quarterbacks quarterback specifically right. I'm sure it's happening everywhere. Let's have more places and yet, but we've seen two very visible situations. Tom Brady, trying to get with his new team, the Patriots, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and get them going. Russell Wilson also working out with teams in Seattle, sort of in a very public way, trying to get the chemistry and get it going because we haven't had a TA is in many camps in all this off season, and we're a month away from starting training camps will divorce Smith, the head of the Players Association, the NFLPA, the executive director, said. Look, guys, don't do this. The the NFLPA doctor has come out, said Don't work out with each other. And tomorrow. Smith tried to reinforce that over the weekend by saying, Look, guys, what you're doing is in Congress with the message we're trying to send, which is stay healthy. Stay safe so we can get to training camp. And start the regular season. And then you have Tom Brady holding these very public workouts, and Russell Wilson, I'm sure more free for doing it. But those are the eyes and those of the people that we see well, and quite honestly, I see both sides of it. I I see what the more Smith again when you're ahead of the union. It's the majority that you're you're trying to protect You correct one of the reasons that the last Ciba past because it benefitted more of the majority. On this one. And that's what that's what the head of the union has to look out for. And remember the last debate. When players wanted a different type of OT, a system they wanted less two a days padded practices in two days, it was all about player safety. And now you're going into a season where there's going to be a whole lot of player safety and covert testing and such and dear saying, guys, if you want me to talk to the league and about player safety in the league is just going to look at me and say How much your players really care about safety. Look at all the quarterbacks out there with 89 other teammates, disregarding not helping the what you're supposed to be doing when covert around so I understand more society that and I understand the player's side of quite honestly, I understand player if I were still a player now I was in a position to D line where you're not getting together with everybody and having workouts. But if I was a quarterback or a receiver or in this case is at the centre goes there, too. And my quarterback was like, especially if it's a new quarterback, even if it's not. Hey, let's get together. Work like hell. Yeah, let's go. I mean, right in this, I would be doing the exact same thing. So a lot of them are Jeff

Mayfield "absolutely" will kneel during national anthem
"Ends up so the PGA tour is back the NBA we believe is heading back Major League Baseball will be shut down the players throats to get back right and then we have the NFL again having the longest runway to get this thing going but while we're waiting for training camp to start at the end of next month and waiting so for some players to sign contracts we're seeing how so many players specifically so many white players are are joining their brothers in arms in terms of their teammates and fighting for the causes that they believe in and two stars over the weekend had some very interesting responses some of their followers on Twitter both J. J. watt in Houston and Baker Mayfield in Cleveland both of them at one point said you know to a fan you know that the fans and to them that I know that Baker Mayfield will be one of those guys kneeling or J. J. watt will be kneeling during the national anthem and they both said yeah you better believe we are we're going to show support for people who understand and feel like they have been wronged in all of this and they want to bring attention to this and both J. J. watt and Baker Mayfield shut down those Twitter followers that no no no that's not what this is about and we respect what they're going to do yeah and so to be clear and all this in differentiating them Baker's basically said he's absolutely going to Neil yes JJ said you don't speak for me and if you think that kneeling is about disrespecting the flag yes you have been listening so J. J. watt didn't commit to kneeling which it is is something that could sound like a headline but still J. J. watt speaking out about this all would have been one of my more unlikely bets going into this just because J. J. watt is never been a guy that's really straight about half one way or another he's been a guy that's gone out there to play football certainly been very charitable we know others a lot of the things that have been a part of his past and some of the relief efforts he's helped with in Houston but straining out in this way and offering an opinion on this wasn't something I expected from the three time defensive player of the soul again actually what they said was for Baker Mayfield that someone you know posting about in answering a post from a fan on his Instagram about Saturday that pleaded for him not to kneel Mayfield responded pull your head out I absolutely am and in response to a person treating tweeting at JJ watt pretty sure JJ what would not be taking a knee during the national anthem J. J. said if you still think it's about disrespecting the flag or military you clearly haven't been listening that's it

"You Win The win the day. Ted Actually took the time to find me. Email me just to give us his take for the most wasting as Bill Walton and then suggested Bill Walton mic. Drop dot that well. That's very clever. Very cleverly done. I'll give you a lot of credit for that instead of going off on our takes. I want you guys to get more chance for your take to come in here. So let's do. A little of this would superstar players been the most wasted by Team Jeff in Connecticut Europe. I what do you got? What's your take on deliver the mail without you man? I love your show But surprise nobody said Andrew Luck Brought a man you know peyton manning At the end of his career it ended badly brought him in never really gave him anything. And then Just kinda petered out. He got injured. Quit never got to see the twilight of his career. You know what I think. That's a great take Jeff and again next for delivering the mail man. We really appreciate what you guys are doing out there and look Andrew. Luck is absolutely high on this list for me because we're going to have a conversation at some point in a few years. About what the legacy of Andrew Luck is supposed to be. We all know we got rich. We all know he was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. But you also have to sort of compartmentalize all of the other stuff. That comes with the Tony in South Carolina. Who Do you think the most wasted superstar by team not even a fan of this team but within the last years the whole met pitching soft man. Oh that's a good look there. There's the mets fans their work around. Espn radio and I feel bad for him every single time. We talk about the mets general. There's always this hope. Hope gets dash speaking of baseball. By the way getting a lot of tweets at this point for Ken Griffey Junior. But as Chad points out. Joey votto Ken Griffey Junior. Maybe Larkin the reds waste. Everybody Jackson's how about the ones who wasted the team blaming Jason Garrett so little bit there Michael Though with an interesting take Matthew Stafford Detroit turn what could have been an all time great career into what this is. Matthew Stafford is somebody who just like Andrew Luck some legacy things to define who is e. Because I believe Matthew Stafford's better quarterback than it gets credit from before being we. We look at him as wasted at some point. Should at least be pointed out. Though when you've also got Calvin Johnson I'm Barry Sanders on that franchise wasted. How do you even? How do you even affect it? So cannon Pennsylvania who do you think? The most wasted superstars been for his team. Jason Love your show. I say The me I'm old school and I'm GonNa go back to the NBA to me. Was the weight great Pistol MARRIAGE I believe. He was showtime before the Lakers Were credited with showtime and I. He was wasted by two teams the team that drafted him the Atlanta Hawks and then team The second team New Orleans jazz just too bad that he wasn't surrounded With the great players or great teams that he could've showcased his talents in the final so I believe his talent was wasted You know in a team setting is that's that's a really good taken. I appreciate it and you know it's interesting to me how many NBA guys are coming up on this list in general feels like there's just it's easier maybe than in other sports to waste. Nba Talent. I don't know why Scott in Virginia. What's your take on the superstar? That's most wasted by his team. Say Jimmy Ground and I'd say multiple teams being Seattle and Green Bay I don't think New Orleans place bidding. Excuse superstar there is almost comparible. Gronk when I think about it and then he just visit away on his other teams and I believe the bears will probably waste oil. Well the bears. The bears got a lot to figure out and Jimmy. Graham hard for me to see Jimmy Grams Moon wasted though I feel like even though he maybe has a higher ceiling in some spots. I don't feel like he's ever been or he's been for the majority of his career. Just invisible WANNA think waste. Maybe that's what I'm thinking. Maybe I'm too hard on that. Look Tonight's going to be the NFL schedule release. And I WANNA give everybody this. This reminder going into the League has no great conspiracy theory against your team. The League is trying to pinch your team into be awful the NFL wants every team to finish somewhere between seven and nine and nine and seven and that includes your team even though you don't feel like it most days it's not a benefit when only have thirty two teams for one of those teams to be terrible the NFL doesn't thrive that way. Remember that when you watch the schedule and also remember that fourteen of the sixteen teams were already negotiated years ago so there is no great theory against her team. Coming up next. How would a possible drop in? The CAP affects certain quarterbacks. We'll Cain we'll dive into it. Thanks for hanging out with this Jason Fitz..

"To happen very because because when he got Garoppolo shipped out of town and then bailed or then the he got shipped out at that point. He's left with an empty cupboard for. Quarterbacks is not a big sexy name at least he's not perceived that way Belgian appears to believe in them but that puts Bella chick that reduces the pressure because people recognize the fact that Garoppolos gone and now Brady's got radi meantime went to a place with stacked teams compared to Bellichik the the pressures on Brady compared to drew brees. Who had some bites at the apple recently who just got Emmanuel Sanders? What was the problem of the team? Needed a legit number two receiver. Now they have it who has continuity with his coach. Look if you win nine or ten games for the Saints Win The division. That's still a good season for the bucks. If the Saints. Get overtaken by the bucks then shows up. That's a bad. Look for the saints. We understand we understand. Your point is not as convoluted as it is ninety eight percent of the time but I take your take on. Espn RADIO ESPN APP. Siriusxm channel eighty and ESPN news. I'm Jason Fitz. So you know any of this conversation about the box. What their schedule looks like is happening today. Because we get the schedule released tonight. Tonight will be the nights that happened. Thursday eight PM EASTERN. And of course you can check it out on. Espn the guy. That's going to be running the ship. The guy that's going to be there taking care of everybody did a great job in the draft to Trey. Wingo joins us now on the show. Trae I appreciate you giving us some time. You've got a long day my friend so I appreciate a little bit of time as we look forward to the schedule. So here's my question. Call me cynical on this one issue at the NFL. Because we know who's GONNA play. Who so tonight. Given the fact that we've known every opponent for every team for months what makes tonight exciting for you. You know we do this show every year. It's just going to have more attention because there's not any play games or baseball kings or anything like that. I think there's two ways to look at. I think players WANNA see. Where's my by? And what Primetime Games do we have fans or looking for revenge games and who they might be wanting to see outside of their division and where that game sets up in the schedule and how many Primetime Games they have. So it's really much. It's really just a conversation about having what you think. Team seasons are going to look like that. I mean from from pure empirical data standpoint. It's just Daytona calendar. But it's always something to talk about. And it always seems to generate a lot of interest we talked to Diana Rossini last hour and she said that The latest looks like the. Nfl isn't doing anything different with their scheduling. They're going to go forth with no plans of putting particular games at the beginning of the year. That would allow them flexibility. So they have to postpone. Is that a right and the right approach from the NFL in your mind. Well you know we'll find out. I hope I've heard from other people that there will be some safeties Bet into the start of the season like you know the all the games that really decide tiebreakers are division games at conference games so it wouldn't shock me at all the first couple of weeks you'll see a lot more. Afc NFC Games because those are the out wires in terms of how you break down tiebreaker. For who gets the post season and then it comes to like those common opponents which are way down the list so I would. I would be surprised quite frankly if we didn't see more. Afc NFC Games in the first couple of weeks. It was used. We're talking to Trey Wingo Golic and Wingo you can also watch him tonight on the NFL schedule released show on ESPN. So there's no international series this year trae. So what effect does that have for teams like the Jags? Is They put everything together? Well I right there. I mean the London Ville Shag. You are not going to be over this year The Jaguars are interesting. I mean I love what they did in the draft a couple of picks and all that kind of stuff so Yeah I'll give the team a little more of a chance to to show 'cause they're doing that big stadium Reynaud right now. People forget about that putting in a bunch of or they were up until everything came to a halt. And I'm sure it's zooming out Florida's back open but they put a bunch of You know restaurants and a little kind of like what they have in Foxborough and other places and make it a little village outside the stadium So hopefully it'll get them a little chance to keep going to that and see we'll progress on that. As the season progresses provide everybody goes. I mean the other thing we need to say about this. This is the ideal plan and you know and I think the NFL's presenting get away. This is what they hope will happen. But they're going to be contingency plans. There's no way the NFL isn't going to have a contingency plan. Should things not go the way they want them to go this summer? Which would allow training camp to begin the way they wanted to begin well into that entry. We've got a couple of teams three teams playing in a total of two stadiums. La In Vegas and obviously construction delays. You're going to be concerns as everybody goes through so usually you would open the season with these big moments for these new stadiums. How do you think the NFL will handle that tonight? Be surprised if you a bunch of those games on the road early for those guys as well I mean you know California was really shut down and you know we didn't get a chance to go to Vegas for the draft and see the progress On on the League stadium out there. And we've heard that the raiders were looking places like maybe playing in Utah and other places. Just as a contingency plan in place tasted wasn't reading so it wouldn't shock me if if the ranch chargers and raiders had a lot of a lot in early in their schedule on the road and the other thing I just WanNa say he's like let's not go down the road of well. This team was this record last year. And that's why this team was gonNA have the easiest season for the hardest toughest schedule this year because last year's results me nothing. Tom Brady was a member of the New England Patriots last year. And now of course he's a member of the Tampa Bay. I think we lost trae there. I can't hear trade at this point so trey making a great point about conspiracy theories would that means moving forward and look this. That's one thing we're GONNA get tonight or a million conspiracy theories on I take your take on ESPN radio. I'm Jason Fitz. I was Trey Wingo. You can check them out tonight. Obviously as the coverage will continue on all things. Nfl schedule released..

"I'm Jason Fitz Jay. Williams joined I take today to talk a little bit about some of the controversy. That's coming out of the last dance. Not from Michael Jordan Scottie. Pippen or any of the players that we actually saw in the documentary but from somebody that wasn't interviewed to be a part of it. Craig Hodges who has not minced words about what he thinks is a by documentary and it's telling Jay Williams reacted to Craig. Hodges Michael Jordan is telling historian from his Pov Michael Jordans Pov is similar to the Kobe Bryant. Pov Right like at times. They are so fixated on what they have to achieve. It might go as eluded to this during the documentary where he says look. We're winning at all costs here. We have to do to win. It seems like Craig Hodges and yes even agree with you to a degree. He might be be grunted but it seems like perceptively. He was a lot more aware about some of the things that were going on outside of basketball. Because of his circumstances right he wasn't he wasn't Michael Jordan. So I WANNA make that you know Craig. Hodges he is telling his truth now. One of things. I could see a little bit throughout. This documentary is that this is Michael. Jordan's truth I don't know this is all the way Scottie Pippen's truth I don't know if this is all the way. Steve Kerr's truth or other teammates that he was able to have so. I do like the fact that Craig how about this? Because it gives people insight into okay. That's Michael Jordan story that he's telling right now during a pandemic which has the world literally on hold watching this but these are Michael Jordan's facts in his mind. This is not maybe the facts overall of exactly what happened due to everybody involved in this story. I do like the fact that shaping extent I take your take on ESPN news. I'm Jason Fitz. Of course this is told from some slant on Michael Jordan because guess what if it was a Craig Hodges documentary? Nobody would watch right. It's Michael Jordan footage. Just Michael Jordan brought the team and it's Michael Jordan. That had all of this all along. And it's Michael Jordan creative control of it from the GEICO. So let's accept that and move on because that was the very first thing that we knew about this documentary coming in the other. Part of it is Scottie. Pippen has his own microphones. Scottie Pippen works with us. I mean ultimately got it has a problem with the way he's being portrayed what prevents him from taking a microphone and telling the world about it. What we don't need is Craig Hodges standing up for Scotty Pippin or any of the other players like they don't have the voice in the microphone of their own. Craig Hodges just comes across as disgruntled. Because he was left out more. I take.

"A junior Trey Wingo here with you as we get ready for Super Bowl week in full display we are headed down there today it was opening night last night and it is a it is amazing it's just a continued sort of homage if you will to to the presence that Kobe Bryant was that on support you just heard south palisade there which was very cool he's covered a bunch of the now that the loudest noise so for this role was a moment of silence for Kobe Bryant and so many of these guys who were on their alternate stage taking time I'm sure they will ask the question but I think they want to talk about it anyway just about what Kobe meant to them well I mean look at some of the young stars the patent homes of the war we have a lot of young stars in the NFL so these these are guys that that before getting to this level watch Colby you know they were in their prime years of high school through college of watching Colbert you're you're you're of that you're of that age as well yeah Richard Sherman is my age yeah yeah like Richard Sherman what do you do with your life believe me question a lot but like we grew up with cut like certainly like lebron James has been the bulk of my lifetime but Colby was the one that when we were kids you were watching maybe the most difficult ship the best difficult shot maker of all time and so that's still sticks those Lakers dynasties the early two thousands stick in your memory and so for all of these guys who are now these high level competitors of Rolex that was your formative years yeah and here's Richard by the way he had some great things we played some bit last hour with him about you know he also had his Achilles torn and he walked off the field just like just like a Kobe did but here's our Richard also talking about what he's taking into the game Sunday against the choose from Kobe really said.

F. C. game first and then we are the Niners closing the Packers in the second game and these these matchups will decide who's playing in the Super Bowl Miami were all super excited about it and there's one quarterback who's going full Rodney Dangerfield on us and that's a Jimmy Garoppolo everyone always talks about the Niners yeah yes always Jimmy this is screwed up I should win the game well one of your favorite players Mike McGlinchey former dormer right tackle for the San Francisco forty Niners is basically coming out in defense of his quarterbacks and he'll get no respect talk.

"Trey Wingo we with you as the end of the regular season last night was an absolute doozy the sound you heard on the intro courtesy of seven ten ESPN Seattle and KNBR as Seattle and San Francisco waged game two fifty six of the regular season and it came down to the last micrometer as micron or why not okay what whatever smaller than a millimeter of Brazil a meter whatever you want to call it but a lot of the San Francisco forty Niners to be the number one seed in the NFC the playoff picture set and we could not be happier about it no we could not to know we could not what a Monday it is here almost our whole crew here a Jason fits in here on my son is out calling the Franklin American mortgage music city bowl thank you very much hash bill well two years around the Franklin American my own music seven G. sugar will was on Paul was also we got the new we got that we got the the vernacular for the a new boat the bowl game that's not that's not how the verbal we are it's actually knows a verbal which there's only the tire boulder error during rating was also yeah that's exactly right so a lot lot of bowl games out there but yeah I'd have to finish game two fifty six last night going all the way to the wire look like for the forty Niners we're gonna run away with this when they were the better team they were the better team last night but give credit to Seattle a fifteen play drive with a over a little over two and a half a little under two and a half minutes to go to get the ball down to the one yard line and then they end up on like the five and a half yard like six yard line and on a plate were you have to give it's amazing what things come down to is a block a tackle you work repetition repetition repetition and it comes down to a guy catching a ball and another guy making a play Drake Greenlaw writer for the forty Niners right he makes a perfect tackle something he has done in practice since he was a kid now playing in little league football and he got the chance last night to make that on the grandest stage in the last game of the season to have his team win the division and be at the by all the way through on one perfect tackling the goal line can we also knows light as much as everybody wants to constantly bark about replay it was nice everybody take a second take a look at it get it right I mean I think these are the moments we look at and say Hey the system worked exactly the way there suppose systems was working for you to come not all the way down to the last play on the last game and there was so much on the line was seating I mean I I'm I'm not at all that's and that's a perfect ending for the NFL regular season well especially if you're the forty Niners you're like thank god after what happened two weeks ago with the Atlanta Falcons game remember they thought they had that game won right then Julio Jones caught the ball in review show that he did get over the goal line in the situation last night in case you didn't step to see it a Jacob Hollister that right and caught the ball and three green law was right there put it down and it just look never look like how's your role that right arm over and they got it right so two weeks ago they put their number one seed on the line in peril by allowing Julio Jones by the smallest of margins to score two weeks later final game of the regular season the exact opposite thing is reversed and now San Francisco is home for the entire post and again there's a there's a lot of plays in the game but these are the last one so you tend obviously look at those more but there's a lot of places that that have have a you know meaning in the game but leading up into that play about the fact that they were on the one yard line the fact that that that Seattle at a fourth and ten at the eleven yard line they got not a first down they got a first down at the what they would have been forced to gold the one yard line they have no more time out to get up in the spike the ball and after they spike the ball there's confusion on whether Marshawn Lynch should be in the game or not yeah and the lady oppose only so instead of second down on the one yard line where you could maybe get marshon jumping over the top like you did earlier in the game they get moved back to to the six yard line couple incomplete passes and the play we've been talking about Hollister degree well with the tackle and there you go the forty Niners when I mean it felt like it was being set up for that that Disney storybook ending you get the ball the one yard line yeah just brought marshon back when you do that that's exactly what we were headed for the mites your point and and then all of a sudden they it is low this organization to come out of that situation and by the way speaking of confusion Nick post admitted he was really confused after the game talking to our Josina Anderson about did we win or did we lose I mean I thought.

"Trey wingo here with you boys before we go anywhere else. Four we move on to what's ahead. How nervous was the goal of gals load Saturday night as the fighting hours were clinging to life. Wow. Wow. That was you know after watching. Ohio state. Just absolutely dismantle Michigan. I thought okay. You know, there's there's chaos we got we'll keep everything. Now Notre Dame win by twenty seven tonight and just kind of glide right on into the playoffs. USC ten nothing over Notre Dame. I'm like, okay. I'm going back to your senior. When you were Jake on the team in two thousand twelve when you had to play SE your number one of the country had to win the game to go to the BCS championship game. It's not like you blew him out in that game. But you were always kind of in control of it. You kick too many field goals instead of touchdowns, but you were always ahead in that game. And you're always kind of in control. This was all nerve wracking US comes out that short passing game Notre Dame didn't adjust to the second half of that. And they asked some athletes on that team. Even though they don't have a very good record this year. Yeah. And Notre Dame with without a doubt was flat. I got a little nervous in that one. Never any doubt. Yeah. Okay. Never any doubt. I have the Twitter receipts to show otherwise. House. But no, you know, what it was. It was one of those games where they came out a little bit flat. USC played like we always here. This team has nothing to lose. And he should go out there and play like that that truly was southern count in the beginning. They had a very specific game plan. They tried to execute their defense through the entire kitchen sink and give them credit. They were able to absorb that. Find a way to win wasn't in books. Best night by any stretch. But he's still made some unworldly otherworldy plays tablet them in that game. And now we're twelve and we're going to the playoffs and conference chumps get to sweat out for another week another game. We don't have to I love it. Jeff tweeted seven hours ago, you'll get your butts handed you in the playoffs. Can't wait to shut your IRAs fans up. Joe Jeff because you know, we are playoffs. I don't know. What team you follow the.
