"Sorry it didn't feel like going. But in September of that year, the two best all black baseball teams decided to play a rematch of their own championship series from the year before. Saul white manager of the Philadelphia giants and also the first black baseball historian wrote about this postseason clash between his Phillies and the Cuban X giants from New York in his groundbreaking book, history of colored baseball published in 1907. Quote, the Phillies owing to dissension in the team in 1903 were far from satisfied with their defeat of that year and claimed that with the proper harmony in their ranks, they could turn the trick on their much hated rivals. This championship series consisted of three games, which were played in Atlantic City, both players and spectators were worked to the highest pitch of excitement, never in the annals of black baseball did two 9s fight for supremacy as these teams fought. Everything known to baseball was done by both 9s to win, but the Phillies by the nervous kind of ball playing and the best kind of pitching by foster won two out of three and the proud title of colored champions of the world. And that foster reference there as Jacob writes that was Andrew rube foster, a star 25 year old pitcher who signed with the Philadelphia giants after winning four games against them in the 1903 postseason while pitching for the Cuban exchange. He is far more famous today for his off field accomplishments as the founder of the Negro national league in 1920. Very cool. Yeah, I think we should bring back 9s also. I think we should bring back referring to teams by the same name. Just saying the chicagos or the Philadelphia or whatever. But also, I think we should bring back 9s. I like the 9s. I like the 9s too. I'm not as strong on the city name as the Seattle's. I'm not into that as much as you are, and it's fine that you are. It's not for me. But I do think that we need an infusion of verbiage to refer to squads to clubs to, you know, so and so's, 'cause sometimes you're editing a thing and you're like, oh gosh, we've said this word so many times. And it's not anyone's fault. It's just the English language only has so many words, so let's redeploy some oldies, but goodies. Yes, please. All right, that will do it for today. And for this week. Okay, a couple of quick follow-ups from last time first in the past blast from episode 1903. There was a story that featured a town I kept calling willmar, Minnesota. Well, I've been reliably informed that it is pronounced Wilmer, Minnesota, apologies to our Wilmer listeners, my bad, obviously, who else is bad would it be? Eh, maybe Wilmer bears part of the blame for spelling it with an a instead of an E secondly, listener and Patreon supporter cold coffee, or at least that's what they go by in the Discord group, raised an interesting question related to the stat blast from that episode, which as you'll recall, was about Shohei Ohtani in the fact that it seems that he has hit worse and maybe just does hit worse on days when he's pitching. We theorized about why that might be? Is it mental fatigue? Is it physical fatigue? Is it both? Well, cold coffee wondered what the implications of that are for pitcher hitting in general. Could it be that pitchers were so bad at hitting all along partly because they were two way players on the days when they hit and pitched, not by training, but that's the job that they were asked to do. Could it be that they were just distracted as Otani is? And as he perhaps suffers some offensive penalty on the days when he pitches, so did pictures themselves all along. And maybe we just never knew because they were not hitting on days when they didn't pitch. So we couldn't see that they would actually be better on those days. It's an interesting idea. That obviously wasn't why pitchers were bad at hitting. There were many, many reasons why they were bad at hitting, and even if you took away some offensive penalty for doing double duty, they would still have been awful and probably unplayable as hitters. I mean, obviously they weren't selected for their hitting ability, and they didn't spend much time training for hitting many of them didn't have much prior experience hitting. This is really why they were bad, but maybe there was some two way penalty baked in there all along. I could buy that that wouldn't apply to other pitchers, maybe because they were so ill equipped to hit much more so than Otani. It was even more stressful for them to do it, even more distracting, or maybe because they probably didn't prepare to hit on that day as much as Otani did. They were not subjected to the same string. Could go either way. You made me think cold coffee. Anyway, maybe we'll never know for sure, but that's okay because we'd have to bring back picture hitting to find out. I can't say that at any point this season I have lamented the fact

"If we did some many versions key chapters the people if you it just happened to be doing war. She didn't have to take the whole book into the studio or into your school or whatever it was you could just throw one of them in your backpack. It was very practical reason. We did it was. It was a practical thing so that you could. You could have the the you need just at that moment and in the end we did four of them. We saved or our publisher. And so there's you know there's direct dialogue and animal. Action is one on one on rounds. Johnson skips and then this flexibility in ways. There's four of them and they're nice very. We spent a lot of time designing the size. You know to get it. Just right kind of like i guess. He's like a little bit of an ipad sizes as ferry hall willmar square and smaller very to hold us. And one of the things we've noticed is i mean since they been out they just came out over here last week but people on animated finding them interest. They're they're kind of accessible. It makes information accessible in a different way. So i i know people who dances and stump men and they seem to be interested in you know so. It seems to have a fairly wide appeal. But obviously they're meant to be for students and animators as an additional tool really. What i like about him to that their Because i know the original animators survival kit so well. I've been through it so many times. That i see little new pieces here too so there are some extra new content. Are those he says. That were edited from the main book Early ron or were. They added later out of that. Well if you've got the original book which was published twenty years ago in fact the have come out sort of twenty th anniversary celebration. We add to that what was called the expanded edition. So you may be referring to the pitch of come from the expanded edition okay And then dick wrote the introductions to each of these four minis Before he became too ill he actually had you can see the handwritten in their fresh and original and he was very excited about them he was. He thought they'd be a really useful tool and the whole idea of the original book when we know when he decided to write and he took him four years to put it. It wasn't it was a big job. Original book was it was a work to he. Didn't want it sitting on someone's coffee table for occasional flake. he wanted. He wanted the book he would have loved when he was young. Yes he made it and in violate what he wanted when he was young. Is what tony. And i wanted when when we were young and yeah we're very thankful for it. It came out. We were a little bit older when the original animator survival kit came out. What year was that by the way one. Okay yeah we were already Master's no i'm kidding. No it truly useful but man will love it when we were kids. Let me tell you something. Dicky's to refer to resign book. I really like you.

"Markets every week. And you get there early because you want the best cakes travel with rick steves talking english villages with mark seymour and the rain all over europe. It's the villages that a lot of people are. Thinking are the charming quaint aspect of that culture. But it's it's a challenge for villages to stay viable these days because young people want to go to the big city where there's a chance for more lively opportunities and better work better paying work and so on on the other hand people can these days Telecommute and they're suppose they could almost anywhere and do their work online. I know in europe. Some countries are actually subsidizing. The continued viability of these villages. Doesn't france have a program. Sos or something where they will help anybody who wants to run the little general store. They'll actually make it cheaper for them to do that. Yes in fact tax free. But you don't have to be licensed bakery in france for instance individ- village. You don't have that allow that. The french have decided to offer in order to give people who want to stay in the villages. A little extra help. Yes yes that's right just like the pub is instrumental in english village life. The bakery is in france religion. It's just a natural inclination for young people to want to go to the big city where the action is and to get good job. Once the impact of this dynamic on the english countryside lately one of the things. That's happened more recently particularly in the courts worlds because it's quite a rich area. The court swells because it's close to london or closer to london. People move out of london to go and live in the cots worlds and people want to bring their families up in the country so more and more people are now moving into the villages with young kids just to get away from the city. And you're right. They can work from home. They don't have to be in the alerts every day or there are bullet trains and express ways that take you to the big city so you can actually commute four days a week or whatever into the big city and still have a country. Lifestyle is creative. A problem in the south west of england further west than the caught swells but real connections now of enable people who are selling their very expensive very valuable properties in cities such as london and they're able to buy two or three years elsewhere in england that's amazing they moved down to the west country and they buy a cottage forces. The house prices up considerably dramatically. Which means that those farming lads and lawsuits who are on minimum. Wage counts afford to stay in the same community. They're being forced out so that's a new struggle. That village life is dealing with britain. It is a new struggle. One of the big problems again. In villages is the age of the population order and older people. People are retiring into the villages so the age of the population is much higher than maybe in the towns. One thing the government has done. More recently is subsidized public transport putting buses on into villages to get people from the villages into towns to do their shopping to visit the doctor get the hospitals the libraries and the necessary because a lot of these residents probably aren't comfortable driving anymore. That's right this is traveled accepts. We're talking english villages with mark seymour in lorraine deneen our phone. Number's eight seven seven. Three seven four to five and roberts calling from franklin in tennessee robert. Thanks for the call. Hello rick nice to hear your voice yeah. Do you have a comment or question for mark or about english village life. We do actually. We're going to be traveling in england for about two weeks with some friends renting a car. Just exploring where knows goes would love tips about anywhere in the cut swabs. We have a place rented in stow on the wall. I think if. I'm somewhere outside of in the country but would love chips on anything things robert and you've got you covered in stow. That's my favorite homebase but lorraine lives in a little village nearby there and llerena if you had some friends thing and stole with a car and wanted to follow their nose Where would you send them. Okay stolen the world's a great base because it's fairly central to some great small towns. Chipping camden is a town. You really have to visit robert which is not far from stowe. Chipping camden has got the longest medieval street. In britain maybe europe. I'm not sure. But that's full of ancient buildings and scott fantastic church. You might not have heard about the wool churches in the cots world. Even tiny villages have magnificent churches. Most of which are open at all times and these are paid for by wall money by big wool merchants. So a little humbled town will have this incredible wolf cathedral out of why oversized and it goes back to that rich Sheep heritage Fourteenth fourteenth century england in particular was a very very wealthy place and it was all based on sheep basically. It was all based on wool. So the merchants built these fantastic churches every little village. You go to in the caught swells. Just pull up outside the church. It's probably going to be open. Somebody's responsible for opening up the church everyday and you'll see a list of pastors. That goes back. Five hundred years nonstop. It's true it's so go. To chipping camden go to broadway. Broadway's another fantastic little caught swelled town not far from stay to morton in marsh. It's just down the road from stall in the world. Another beautiful little caught world town full of yellow coats. Wellstone buildings some of them thatched. You know one thing. I would also offer. Robert is to make a point to take a hike. It's so easy when you have a car to stay on the roads. But every time i just commit two or three hours to walk you can take action. You can take a taxi from stowe to wherever somebody tells you to go and then get the local map and then get off the roads and walk for a couple hours back to stow that way. You get to see amazing. A country farm life from the back door visit to many puzzle. My wife might make me do that anyways. So that might be a two for one there. You got pugs every time you take a walk. Mark if a little bit further west from the colts wills you find yourself on the The the wiltshire and salisbury. There are suggestions on north wales. I know you like conway a lot. Guinea comments about that area mark. Do you have a to that. When i go up there frequently touring and personally. I have friends up there But if you like walking which it sounds like you do come. We is On the edge of northern snowdonia national parks mountainous area not high mountain. but it's very easy to navigate. You can walk very easily. Willmar trails all over snowdonia beautiful place to go and visit beautiful place adjacent to the sea so you have accommodation see plenty of characteristic pubs for robert. Yeah there you go been good. Life is good. I have robert. Thanks for the call. Take care thank you in genesis coming from sagamore hills in ohio. Janice thanks for your call. Thank you rick. I'm sure calling to complain. Because i just got back from europe and i drove for a week in the k. And it was a terrible experience side only known. I never would have done it. I would have taken a bus towards those small towns roundabout bath salads. Burry the cops will. I just gave up on the cuts balls. It was sheets for ten narrow. It was very difficult. I just wanted to escape to. This guy highlands which i did. But i wanted to go to york and durham and i sit note. I don't want to deal with roundabouts. At that point was my last day and i wish somebody had said i. I guess i never heard anyone say not to try it. And i've driven all over the world. So i thought i could do it and i hit. I hit a kerb at fifty miles. An hour and blue tire was a tiny car. I got a tiny car on purpose. But were they're so narrow and they have no burns they just have curves right. You know when you get out there that the roads are narrow and the hedges are high. I don't know the south west. Yes in devonshire. Didn't.

"And So when Wince with down for the colts people's talking about trading him to the colts. But now you know doesn't he's gonna be out very long and easson their backup quarterback things weren't talented the rudolf so You know probably a six round pick would be all you'd get out of him And but i think that Haskins has more potential to be that long term answer after being And especially the way he's looking and getting into the the steelers culture and their environment And just being around being being around tomlin and the rooney family how they do phase it It seems like he's maturing And that's tells never been a question with him. It's been his maturity level and his work ethic. And you know somebody's contagious. And i think being around a locker room full them kinda gaza hard workers. He seems to be taking these his career more seriously there And just frayed. That rudolph is going to be gone or going to actually be a problem. He's gonna be in his way and while the has the guy the need to focus on so if you get a six around four you'd have to consider well here but let's go back to two thousand nineteen. I brought this up a few times and this does not mean that the steelers would make a deal for right away but you can always see something like. You're the first week of the season if we go back to nineteen and what happens at the time you you remember our it goes down and then all of a sudden you. You're with an unknown rookie in gardner Menchu the third and they need some help in jacksonville and they gave up a fifth round. Pick in the fifth round. Pick that they gave up was for joshua dogs now. The steelers were smart that year because they they did like what they had in die. There is a lot of people disappointed the that he was over over duct. But i think what they were trying to do. Was engineer trade for dobbs before week one and overcut cut down weekend in. I don't think it worked out. But so i can really see right now. I could really see joshua dobbs being the odd man out right now this year because he is the safest to go ahead and cut and let go but let him know that. Hey were you know. They're not going to keep the caliber of backups. They're not gonna keep a guy like haskins or rudolph as their number three. I just don't see them doing it. When you have a guy capable of being a number three like joshua dobbs so they can play a little game there. It is a game of chicken of nfl trade chicken and waiver wire chicken. But i could see them doing that by trying to deal. Mason rudolph if indeed. They end up liking the future that they might have with dwayne haskins and keeping him as the number two and being fine with having with having him there as a number three and and that being but do not be surprised on cut down day. If mason rudolph is immediately named the number two. But they're still trying to deal so that's a game you've got to play to you. Don't want to say name him as a three when you're trying to move him to another kids right now you're going you're not gonna hear anything negative about any of these guys because you've got to make it look like you've got gold here. Somebody meant in its andrew. Willmar mentioned i'm going to bring this up on the screen. Peter schrager said their nfl teams. Who see mason as a future started. The steelers can get something in a trade. He thinks they can get a fourth. If you can get a fifth out of josh dobbs but that was a desperate from jacksonville at the time came you get. Can you get a fourth out of mason rudolph. It's really interesting and You know somebody mentioned Who are hey mentioned is like wow. We're talking about draft season draft in the season. I haven't started. Actually we're not. We're just talking about what they're going to do with the players and the depth that they have 'cause you don't keep all of these guys on the roster so i can actually see them go ahead and move one of them. I would think that mason rudolph would be probably a prime candidate to be moved if they could find a buyer. And we've been talking about. How great kevin. Colbert is to be a great general manager. You've got to be an awesome salesman to if you can be a great salesman. There's another thing i mean. You can sell anything if you let people know how much you need. You need him. Hey you can't live without not having a mason rudolph on your roster because what if what if something happens to. What if something happens to. Patrick mahomes yet. I mean what if something happens to dak prescott you would need mason rudolph there what you're going to live life from garrett gobert i mean that's that's the conversations that i envision them happy and i'm a sales guy so let's become the things that i think about but that's really good there i. I'm thinking of another guy too and i gotta think that that presley and i keep on saying this i keep calling him presi the harbin and i because it just seemed i keep on messing up the var but presley harvard in the third. I do not see a scenario where he is. Let go from this roster. i mean. There's too much hype on them. There's no keep them on the practice squad. But if jordan berry keeps kicking the way that he is that's the seventh round draft. Pick for a team that would need a punter. Would you agree tony. I don't know. I mean i think trying to trade punter and the nfl's trying to trade a kicker and in fantasy football you can always pick up a kicker that's and get comparable numbers you know even if it's even if the guy that you know they want to trade is better you can probably get close to the numbers you need somebody who can pick up the free agent so i don't know if they do get something for him and maybe a seventh round pick. But that's a size i because there's such a supply and demand thing with kickers and punters. There's always somebody out that you know. If if the steelers release bury the that wants him one. Probably just hurry up snatching up anyway. Well not so fast. My friend and i'm gonna ask shannon white to weigh in on this stu. The steelers have traded australian punters in the past. If you remember brad wing going for a seventh round. Pick to the new york football giants in favor of jordan berry. If i'm not mistaken so you know. Brad wang is i mean somebody found that they wanted brad wing enough and the giants were takers. A they gave Round pick and here's the other reason for not so fast my friend If the practice squad looks the same that it does last year they can probably play a little game there with it as well because remember cordless weightman was on the practice squad all of last year and sometimes i don't know if they did it with weightman but the practice squads gonna look the same and i believe you're going to be able to protect for each week so if the first week or two something happens to a punter and the first week or two you you have berry protected. Maybe something like that. Then maybe maybe you're making a deal there. So i i actually think that they can.

"Years sharon willmar host of all gods women taking you on a journey through the bible one woman at a time for seven days. Miriam injured the public. Humiliation of being a leper unclean and unable to come into contact with the rest of the population but numbers. Twelve fifteen tells us that the people did not journey. Till miriam was brought in again. Despite mariam's failures the people loved her enough to tear the seven days until she could join them. At this point they had no idea how long they would spend in the wilderness. But they were willing to wait a week so that miriam could join them. Though she'd failed miserably she was still loved. Miriam was one of only five women in the old testament to be called a prophetess and she was the first. It was an honor bestowed by god but with that position came a greater level of accountability. Because the other women looked to. Miriam for wisdom and guidance. It was especially important that she be an acceptable role model. When she got cocky. God had to put her in her place. It's easy for us. To become sanctimonious we can mistake it. For being saintly or sanctified but god is not fooled he knows our hearts he knows where we're striving to serve him and when we're merely trying to act superior god will not tolerate pride among his leaders when we start to think we know best when we tried to gain power from those who have authority over us when we engage others in our pettiness. God will get our attention. Suren will encouraging women with stories.

I thought it would suck when he was on vacation. But instead. Oh my oh my. My hate. Trough was filled to the brim. When stephanie rule msnbc host former favorite of the boys at the trading desk deutsche bank came on to discuss mandatory vaccines. Now these are the liberal intellectual deletes and. It's very important that we listened to what they have to say. And what they're thinking is because of believable. I'm sorry believable. What's unbelievable it. Did these liberal one time liberal intellectual elites promoting fascist policy whole wait for it. The newest trend in corporate america is vaccine mandates. Willmar disney facebook. Google requiring some or all of their employees to be vaccinated to come to work walmart disney or two of the country's largest private employers. Here's a list of companies that are recurring some or all of their employees to be vaccinated to come to work. Netflix saxwood avenue blackrock rock goldman sachs delta and united airlines for new employees. Only by the way Morgan stanley the washington post which was a surprise to me. Lift uber twitter. What what do you think. it's not just employees restaurants. At broadway shows are starting to require ticket. Holders indoor tanners to show proof of vaccination will. This work produce a backlash stephanie. Who cares it produces a backlash. They damn well should right. In france every day we could turn on the tv and say well look at the protesters. What are their a thousand protesters. Ten thousand protestors. The first week emmanuel macron put the mandate in place. Almost four million people in france got vaccinated. It works and i guess. I'm angry because for all the noise. Corporate america gives us about wanting to do the right thing and being leaders for social justice in writing letters for voting rights. Here's something they absolutely can do to protect our country to protect their employees to also pay back the government who just bailed out businesses big and small to millions of dollars and now do your part businesses have that giant carrot. That you're always going to have anti vaxxers over here right there but in the middle are all of these people especially young ish people who are like. I'm not. I don't really need it. But if you say that person great will you can't go to work can't go to a bar can't go to the gym. It can't go to your favorite sporting event. they're going to run out and get vaccinated. And i like it super selfish and shortsighted that businesses. Remember when we first got the vaccines we kept hearing people who are fully vaccinated. We will go to this store without a mask on. When was the last time anyone asked you your vaccination status when you walked in a store. When i'm in a store and i see people with masks on they don't seem to be people who aren't vaccinated more likely there people who are being extra cautious extra will be the next big wave of people getting vaccinated and i think when it got when the vaccines go from improve almost over. It's almost over. No you got it back it up a little bit. Okay this is sounding like i care. Swisher seems like she's the audience in a in a black church she's doing that's right preach this woman with her rant Cares going here. That's right oh yeah yeah. Yeah the background. Making all these these blurbs. It's it's pathetic but so back at me so you can hear a little of that. Okay i could up a little bit here now. "A complete i just go completely off the. Are you watching the olympics at all. i'm trying to. I'm trying to watch as much as i can. But it's it's hard because you know. I have basic cable. So it's hard to really. It's it's on all these nbc. What sister stations. I guess and so. It's hard for me to keep up. But i'm trying to watch i. I'm trying to watch much volleyball. I can't do you like regular volleyball or do you like beach volleyball. I like them both. I'm a big fan of beach volleyball. That you also. I'm a fan of the my. Mrs vat and i are watching a lot of lot of swimming. Nl swimming's kind of tailing off. I mean but wow amazing. Just amazing. And i've been a little fight. You've noticed a slack channel. I've been in a fight with mattie several because maddie's talking about all the australian guy the osceola women and he was dissing my girl katie la- decky who probably lives about her hometown's about forty five fifty minutes for me and maryland girl. i love katy la becky. She's absolutely amazing. What she did in the eight hundred in the fifteen hundreds awesome. But so i might have to fire pepperell just because of the osce swimmers. Takeover fantastic podcasters pepperell. But if he if he keeps on if he keeps on discipline decky in bragging about katie mckeowan and go hit miss ariane titmus. I mean i i gotta i gotta make a call here so If you want to save i tell you. What if you wanna save mattie pepperell. Let's go ahead and see if we could get twenty five bucks in the twenty five bucks in the super chat to save pepper. Al job. let's see what we gotta do. So there we go. Speaking of. But anyways i wanna talk about swimming so the commentators in swimming had dan hicks rowdy gaines. Have you caught any of these guys shannon white. I really haven't been watching olympics. You haven't been. I've i've tried to pay attention to You know a lot of the twitter verse. As far as what's going on at gay evan as stuff in a suffered through the pirates but you know tried to stick with am and wants to try to rebuild this situation this organization and and But you know. I haven't really heard the any olympics. That's i've olympics. Have been awesome for me. I've really enjoyed it. Rowdy gaines is the is the color commentator. And he. I would love to see him for the steelers. I think he would be amazing. I don't know if he knows much about football. But he's an olympic gold medal champion from nineteen eighty-four. He's fantastic in fact. This guy is so he so exciting. We've got to stay save mattie before it was five bucks has to executive saved mattie and donald nolan. This is i'm loving this. Don't even think about it. Bad matt ep. Stays i love this coming to the aid of one of my guys but i have to come down on him so you for going after the decky like that so but anyway so he's only twenty bucks away keeping his job so good job live chat. Thank you but rowdy. Gaines is so exciting when these guys are coming from behind. I was thinking about this. Not that i'm ever gonna have one. But i always thought if i ever had my own sex tape i would want in the past. I would jack fleming or myron cope it. I think that'd be great them commenting on on it now. I want now since they both passed away. I wouldn't want rowdy. Gaines tacoma sex tape. That is that is how exciting gets he gets you so i mean i could be bad at it. I swing more. I pay attention to this guy. I was supposed to do this this bit yesterday. I t even teased of yesterday on tales from two. Am and i forgot about it at the end so i just wanted to bring it. Bring it here but andrew willmar says and this is great. Caleb drexel's absolutely awesome with his five gold medals. Caleb dress will said he could hear rowdy saying welcome to the club from the pool. So that's i want i. That is definitely why. I want rowdy gaines to be the next steelers keller commentator. I think he's great. Hey anything dirty. All always said was sex tape. That's it you don't have if you picture. That's up to you at cleaning wholesome. That's on you. Yeah so anyways walmart says now you only have to pay twenty yourself. Mattie usa jk. We love the down. Does yeah i. I love the down on his hair. But yeah i mean peripheral. Tell you what you go. After the olympic swimmers i mean. I know you're ozzy proud but davison didn't do that did he. Work davidson didn't bust up on the american swimmer's and now he probably saying. Please don't pay my own show. Now you know what davidson's probably over and he's probably over in japan right now trying to meet meet all showing an accent. Where a. he's he's probably over there meeting the ladies happening. I guarantee you a. I know donald nolan. You're you're never completed. I've i've i love that you're supported my guy in the end. Preval's my guy. But we've got to raise the money to keep them now after going after my olympic swimmers so So anyways guys we've been talking about the guys who have not been counted on in the past for the steelers. The never been counting on so with that being said shannon. Who is your choice for the guy that we should be counting on now that we weren't in the past my first choice. Yeah i would have to probably go with Is less names coward And he's I think they've got him left guard. Rashad yeah and he's been filling in for dotson who hasn't been able to get out there yet. He's he's been out and pads and stuff but he ran a little bit with the second team. I think but he's was shorts. Inner just going through drills but Coward is a guy that is a really powerful run blocker struggles a little bit with the pass protection Because he's even then rips for the bears tackle. But i think he's an eighty hill he needs to be on the interior guard but I just with the situation we have. I think he will be an important addition. This season at some point. Tony i i like the whole rishaad. coward here because they brought this guy in. They brought joe hagan as well but they bring these guys in. Nobody's counting on them as nothing but backups. So would you see a guy like that is being beneficial to this team that we could probably count on Left field that's right. Yeah 'cause i wasn't even thinking about him. Shannon brings up a good point. I mean with these with the unit collectively kind of struggling to get on the field at the same time at camp and you know you never know who you might have to count on damn wars another one. I mean that's one that you hear that. He's he's playing with the first. Getting a lot of looks at left tackle. Szucs hasn't been been practicing all that much so far. So there's somebody that's important during the year they might have to count on. They count on kevin dotson last year at guard when when they had those rash injury. So damn wars. Another one you might have to. He might have been somebody. You weren't really counting it but you might have to count on him once a year. It gets rolling out. I was about to say brought up kendrick green. You're bringing up dan more. I was about to say. Let's not bring up the rookies but you're right. Though because the draft picks we weren't counting on kevin dotson last year for anything in fact we said that if kevin johnson comes in. It's going to be a disaster because someone's hurt or someone's not playing well at all with only is in front of them. So that's why. Dan dan moore is a really good pick here because we weren't counting on him before camp. We're not counting on a guy like traynor would either now. We're counting on presley harvard. We're counting on najji harrison. We're counting up pat frankenmuth and kendrick green. We're not counting on a buddy johnson. We're counting on them to learn..

"About how much more oxygen he was receiving. I just googled a book on breathing just to see what the title is and it brought up lists and lists of books on breathing like this. There's multiple books breathing. What do we all have in common breathing right. Did joel sherman. Right one of them. Because i feel like he's got a new book every few reviews everything you've never wanted to learn about the process of breathing so much. Bs in so few pages. Don't waste your money. Oh that's nice. And i'm sure there's other good ones if it's if it's number seven on the new york times charlton's abound another over promising potentially dangerous pseudoscience book that uses limited to no data to substantiate acclaimed author full of himself with zero empathy. For sick people. It is science. Isn't all right. Very good. Jerry you wanna tell us what happened at sports quickly. Yeah i'm fascinated by this though so it seems like the mouth breathing really occurs when you're sleeping more than when you're awake and conscious of it okay. That might be one of the bigger issues more so than like right now. We're not sitting here when not that. We're breathing through. Our nose is when you breathe at night. Your mouth is wide open. That's album so then. How are we gonna when you're asleep. I don't know what i'm doing while shove a sock in it. Shove a sock in my mouth. I don't think that's a great idea. Is your suggestions. I think he'd do need to read this book on its own. Yeah right but a sock and also you can breathe through your nose know so the yankees lost the yankees and mets lost bad games. Yesterday i was going through a couple of the audio files if you will on the one play overlooked so the yankees are up. Seven two on the ninth yesterday in. Houston they get it to seven five. The astros they had first and third one out and this happened as heard on. Yes with ryan. Ruko thought off too short torres jackson. It will they call it a catch. Hey up play by torres to try to pull it off really interesting. Because had they let that go he would have stepped on. Second throwing the first ballgame over but they didn't let the he tried that again. Same thing and so they don't let it go. And then i'll tuesday comes up next to one one field deep three run homer for hosanna two and that ryan ruko on yes again with eight seven absolutely stunned the yankees and deny them the sweep and they head into the all star break on a down note after. What was a solid weekend. Here is aaron. Boone tries to remind his club. Yes today stings but we really have been pretty good of late and we need to make we understand. And there's a lot of good things happening It doesn't take staying away from today. But ultimately they'll be fine. We've pat inaugura those obviously here in the first half and you know we've gotten off the mat each and every time we gotta do it again although have a chance to have a couple of days here before they open up a series with the red sox chad green gave up a home run. It was him into mingo. Herman in the ninth inning. I didn't realize until watching it back to the The herrmann two hits. He gave up to start. The first one was a leader just off the bat which really stuck otherwise. would i want out Nobody on but that was not the case. Here was green had issues with his command that i missed in certain locations. The prices fight myself a little bit and so the yankees forty-six and forty-three into the break. Eight games behind first-place boston who did lose yesterday to the phillies. Five four ronald tereza. They three run homer for philadelphia and that game as for the mets. Here's how the go base. It sounded in pittsburgh. Pirates beat the mets after trilling. Five nothing early. On in pitch. Paul base it failed goes leading willmar defoe slops it into left hausky scores the pirates lead six to five and boos rained down here at city field and that is pirates radio understandable around. Yeah time time right. I love them katy k right. He slaps down the left field line and they wind up beating them at six. Five is they took care of them in the bottom half mid score five in the first home runs from and conforto and then boy. The batts goes silent from that point forward. Here's luis rojas. What happened to your guys can keep our offense going We can get some The low out of the game there and we we gotta keep moving forward. Here's that wendy. As he will move forward he suffered the the blown save even though he got out of a jam in the eighth. Couldn't get it done in the ninth thesis. After the break all good today was tough last ball we stayed. We stay aware that on. We'll try to you know right now. Go home rest. Don't think about the last no and said they can enjoy the festivities which will include one of their teammates tonight. Homerun derby pete lonzo chorus field. Elevation no worries for me. I know a lot of a lot of guys get affected by the high altitude But for me. Like i love it i love it out in colorado and i usually spend some time out west In the offseason. So i know what the altitudes gonna be like. Along with him you'll have otani gallo. Peres olsen trae manzini good story at a baltimore. Of course trevor. Story the local guy in one soto that is tonight which starts the all star festivities. The game will be tomorrow Also of with the draft. The mets wound up taking kumar rocker. Pitcher out of vanderbilt. The teammate of jack lighter who went second to the rangers yankees get a shortstop eastern illinois named trae sweeney. Nba finals and the bucks. Beat the suns one twenty one hundred. They get to within two games to one janas and forty one points. Thirteen rebounds added. Get whatever i was feeling. I knew what that game. This is what. I'm gonna come to that in face. He was battling soreness. Different points in the game. Devon booker didn't expect this to be easy as they're now in a series teams are going to give in and they're gonna keep playing through you know so we have to bring the same effort you know that. We had the first two game and game. Four two days off not till wednesday night in milwaukee jrue holiday at twenty one point nine. This last night and chris middleton added eighteen. Also yawn as part of his forty-one points. He shot seventeen free throws on the night. Yes exactly. I think phoenix i think is a team. He shot sixteen or seventeen themselves. So that's that pretty much is just you know so physically dominating in the pain. It's not even funny. There's nobody that could stop them this this whole thing about the knicks. There's nobody in the next. That could stop durant. There's nobody in the next that can stop janas. There's nobody in the knicks that can stock. Stop joel embiid. And they're all in their confidence. And then plus if you wanna go up to boston to guys. The next can't stop on the knicks note. Yeah everybody got damian lillard. What's going to happen with him in portland. He's refusing to answer questions about his future as part of this whole team. Usa thing because they had asked him and he's not going there and novak djokovic one wimbledon and also noticed the wimbledon grounds. A lot of people got in without tickets as they basically just barreled their way through security yesterday so is soccer and the tennis going on same time and by the way security there was but they couldn't control it was many people that committee bum rush them. I was just alerted by jet guy. Seven three nine nine on twitter. That this guy. Erode breathe has got a series of books. He also wrote eat walk. Poop look stand and sleep so you can get any one of those at your local. The whole set the whole set spike actually popped in here said that Joe rogan had that guy that guy on for like two and a half hours really and he said he was. although he didn't make the purchase he did think about it that the guy was saying a lot of good things. That's type of joe rogan's alley. Tried kate you guys all you guys. Mock me still. Yeah all you guys do. Is one hundred percent now making you that concept of writing a book breathing through your nose just trying to tell you three hundred nine pages you take it a personally. We're talking about it. I mean it should be one page. Breathe more three or nose. They.

"Effectively abortion reproductive so-called reproductive health and gender theory is deeply embedded in all. This is recommended okay. This is not an outline fury that is pushed by the left. It is recommended by people. Writing for the american federation of teachers in two thousand nineteen. There's an article brought out by the official journal of the american federation of teachers which the second largest teacher's union in the united states after the nea is an article by joel. Herman willmar and caitlin ryan talking. It's called reading and teaching the rainbow and the affirmative case. That makes is that you should use elementary school classrooms as indoctrination centers for lgbtq plus agenda items. They say people are sometimes shocked by the notion that teachers should address lesbian gay bisexual. Transgender and queer topics elementary schools. Maybe they think children. Those ages are too young. Those conversations are better at home or at the whole topic is This is not we believe at all instead. We simply want them to talk about the diversity of families and relationships and communities in ways that include. Lg de l. g. t. q. Plus people athar public schools are for everyone except if you're religious or you hold traditional values or believe in natural law then they're not for you but everyone else. They're definitely four if children themselves don't have lgbtq parents perhaps they've appear with two moms daycare or relative comes out as gay or maybe they've heard a story about transgender rights on the news so now it is the job of schools if a kid. Here's something on the news or could hear something on the news. We need to teach kids about that immediately in all possible context. I don't think that this is what the left actually believes. By the way the the best part of this article is how you should teach small children about gender again. They're talking kindergarteners year. I have boy who's five. I would never allow my kid within thirty feet of people like this. You'd have to be out of your damn. I and these are people who are writing long pieces for the american federation of teachers. American educator spring two thousand nineteen quote if we help students see their earn strict rules. About what girls and boys can do. How girls and boys should be. Then we hope to blur those divisions between categories. And hear him saying yes that that's a bad thing you don't want to blur the divisions between boys and girls because this creates gender confusion that is unmerited an unwarranted. But they think that it's a good thing to blur the lines a this blurring can help. Students learn to respect people who live these. Those categories differently when people disrupt any of the matrix categories through their gender identity through their gender expression or with whom and how they might fall in love. They are queering disrupting and expanding the heterosexual matrix to make more kinds of lives and loves visible teaching in this way a method that we call questioning categories. Means helping your students investigate how both people in the real world and characters in books disrupt the heterosexual matrix and what effect we believe. Such questioning helps students become more aware of and more sensitive to the multiple ways of doing gender or being in relationships door. It has nothing to have sex as nothing to with sexual confusion or gender confusion. It's just good for your kids. It's just good. And if you notice that they are teaching bullcrap gender theory that was brought about by a bunch of morons in the nineteen sixties pretending being intelligent commentators. If you point out that there is no scientific basis for what they're talking about right here and that it has nothing to do with the overall health of school children what it has to do instead is promoting a broader social agenda on the back of a small very small group of people who have some problems that cannot be solved by shaping the entire society around those problems. If you do that then then the society if you notice then they become very very angry it all of this is now more and more embedded in our in the in the life of our nation. You're apathetic people in the middle so far they sort of okay doesn't bother me. What's the big deal. It is a big deal. The nea adopted a measure in two thousand nineteen saying that the nea would create model legislative language. That state affiliates can use to lobby for a k. through twelve cross content curriculum that has lgbtq plus inclusive is. Why when you see people people. I respect who say that state legislation should not be involved in banning. Crt or banning gender theory from k. through twelve classrooms. The left inc shy about this. They are attempting to cram this down on your kids because after all. Everything's an emergency if everything's an emergency then totalitarian power implemented at the expense of your children is totally justified. That indeed is the goal already. We'll be back here later today with an additional hour contents. The meantime go check out the michael mold show today. He discusses the crimes bikes in san francisco and chicago in your more details about that over on michaels show. That's available right now. I'm ben shapiro. This is.

"Well it so in backing up When i lived in rome land We we were losing our house and so john it offered he goes well. You know john was actually coming over. And doing some work on this car at my place and i actually had a sixty eight charger also and i was like i wanted to do work on the chart on the sixty eight and i had a different guy doing a lot of the work on this car in it. He just wasn't the same caliber as john. You know and So push come to shove. We're losing our place you know we were moving here in willmar and i was bringing some stuff over in john offered he goes well. We could bring the charger to my place in an outlay. That's sort of one car you don't have to worry about we could work on it while it's over displaced so it's kinda like storage and get work on so yeah. That's why brought that car in. That's how rolling but anyway my mom seventy two charger. I gave it to john. Also this car just been you know slow progress. I've got my mom's car back. So i started stealing a lot of the parts. I bought this car throwing them on my mom's car to try to get her car. Move along a lot faster. you know. She's getting up there in age. I wanna get the car back to her Enjoy it before. It's too late so far. That's that's where that's at but then you know now got my dad's car trying to get going for the the duck tape drags in october. So that's kind of trump and everything you know. Everything's pretty much on pause. Like i really didn't need to be buying a seventy corn at wagon. But you know it was such a good deal acid up so oh you need to. You need to let me ask johnny. What is what cars on the outermost circle where where are we at here. What's what's the outlier. That may be waiting in the wings for a sucker like me While the on the absolute outer circle would be that sixty eight coronet four door with somebody was asking about four doors and by the way. Yeah that that car. I don't have any. I think it'll be a cool car. would i'd like to do is build like a ratty cop car out of it. You know..

"No no. I don't know the his posting there on the commerce was the first i heard of it. So it'll be interesting but i'm guessing it's like one of those aluminum fender to you. Know early bodies sixty three sixty four. Maybe that's max wedge amax wedge or a funny story about compton really quick. When i was driving trucks over the road i had a load go into compton and i was like oh shit. I never been to compton. So i didn't know what to expect and i'm like my hands are starting to get sweaty because i'm like i'm in this truck with a million dollar load. Who knows i could get jacked. You and i get off the freeway. And i'm looking to one side and it's like it's like i don't know. Is chris tucker movie friday. It's like friday over on this side over here. And then i look to the other side and it's like industrial area the gps left. And i was like thank god go left. That was a fun day. traffic. I don't know how you guys deal with california. Dude i sat. i we- i went for. It took me six hours to go from los angeles. To fontana i about put a bullet in my head johnny. I don't know how. How close are you to la. It's probably what about two hours or so to drive. Okay i mean. I'm far enough away from it but i hate i hate driving through. Traffic is just insane. But even where i live used to be rural out twenty years ago but shit. Everybody's leaving the big cities and coming out here so now it's packed so we have. I wouldn't say it's as bad as l. a. "It's no no-frills day. I need several rows in a row. When are you how are you. I know you have some things going on. Yeah we're i. I decided to take half day off tomorrow and take off. Friday just did and time and then we'll have the weekend off to yeah in the start back on monday. That'll be good. Yeah that'd be good good for you be normal again. Yeah normal forever then it is. I know i've been watching clips. In fact i think when we when i post this episode in the show notes. I'm gonna put a clip Because you have this perfect little list of all of the people who requested different characters. So i think i'm gonna make just a list of links to like little clips of the best of You read through the list. I'm gonna cut that thing out. Because i didn't know how to play that name so safely hand right. So camille gave us maximum pasco jolted hey which are very exciting for a love. Hey chilly had Lucio cookie. Crikey juice under merv. Laura gave a sebastian and scuttle from Ashley said the cockroach. From that. When i'm really excited about to i have Let's see katie gave a sebastian and flounder from Low mermaid calypso had mako and flit from openness and pascal amax another vote for yeah maximus from wrigley on hollyhead says zoo of wine king. I have things to say. But when we get to ozzy. Tim had to moan impreza from flying I have diamond but sierra Gave us thumper and flower from bambi and Amy head sebastian. And shocking gus gus as From willmar made in cinderella respectively least fever being flotsam and jets from. Yeah we are that we got hit. Those two this little freak. So she she. We start with maximum pascal. There the i also got two votes. So i mean i feel like they're number one here. Yes yes i. Here's what i love about maximus. He is the difference between him and flynn Is the difference between fancy pants and regular britches. that's that was my thought when i was watching clips of them. I just love him because league. Max doesn't even have to talk all. He's very he's adept at physical comedy that israel. That's very expressive force of his expressions. He i like. I i Identify with him. He's just like frustrated by the whole thing he's like why is everybody dumb. And why can't we just solve this problem. He's the smartest wine the room. Yeah and he does not get the credit he is do except here. I adore maximus half. Scowl i so tangled as one of those disney movies. That came out. When i was like i would've been in college and i didn't watch it until i had kids so i had a little lapse. There you know. I didn't watch a lot of disney. And then. When i had kids i started watching again in kinda caught up and entangled as my favorite because of pascal. First of all. I love the name. I love the reference And i love the character. I love the little. Reptile chameleon was different. That was a new thing for me in another one. Who didn't have to talk every. Yeah i've had so over the years. We've always had cats like when i was kid we we had barn cats. And now we've always. There's always a stray cat at my house. And right now there are three of them. I don't know why that they flocked my home. Probably because i can't help it feed them When they find their way inside. But i've had cats that are like pascal like they look at me and they know they know the internal struggle that i'm having in just like like they just I've had side cats. I have pascal reminds me of them. I love him. I need one. Like if you're gonna have a disney psychic like if you were your disney princess. Now what's your psychic. Oh gosh or dog or dog i have. Why a horse or dog wanna horse to right away or speaker friend to have you not ever ridden a horse. No well we need to house. Have i read now. I've never actually never red horse. I think now i didn't. I'm trying to think i would. I had like this ultimately that. I did but i don't i don't think of ever in gosh you. You need to come to my house. I think that's why. I'm so restless around people because the better part of my alike lower childhood and early teen years were spent alone in the woods on a horse. And i think that's why i can't tolerate being Social and all now. I think it ruined me. It's like animals are unconditional to they They don't make any preconceptions of you when they see you. It's just like oh hey person oh you're gonna you're gonna give me food can't love you if a so easy. It's so easy there's no like bullshit that you gotta wade through and you know. There are very clear and concrete batteries and expectations. You know especially with horses in writing You know in order to be safe. You have to treat your horse certain way you have to develop a rapport with your animal. And it's just such a cool. I bet i never see. I can develop a rapport with clydesdale but not with a human being now. So it's there's a deficit now. Because of that i should.

"Looking for thinks he's got it. Touchdown! Touchdown. Buffalo. There's Stefan digs at 35 Yard. Hook up with Josh Allen Touchdown bills. You're listening to the J. R sport. Brief calling Now, with 855 to 1 to four, CBS. You heard that courtesy of Bill's radio Josh Allen, such now? Get used to it. You might get another one this weekend against the Baltimore Ravens. I think you will definitely hear that for a few more years. Especially the way that Josh Allen has just continued to improve year after year. Someone who's just pretty much an athletic freak of nature has now moved on, and so being One of the better pastors in the league 70% accuracy. That's like the Golden Standard. That's the Goldmark 70%. It's somebody who came about the fifties. This is someone who folks looked at and said all well, he has a cannon. But what else does he do? And I think when you take a look at the quarterbacks that were selected in the 2018 draft over the weekend, whether it's Mayfield or Jackson around just because of Alan style. I think he has. He has more longevity there. No athleticism wanes. We'll see how much Lamar Jackson how much longer he can do this. He is a freaky is a marvel. What is this going to last him? 10 plus years. What we're seeing from Josh Allen is something damn it. If he wants to. If he's healthy, all things considered. Nothing stopping him from moving on into a 40 year old range. Michael Phil Rivers. Not everybody is going to hit that 43 like Tom Brady. And Baker Mayfield. There's still more to see. Sit the phone lines 855 to 1 to four. CBS. You think about the quarterbacks that were selected in the 2018 draft that showed up over the weekend, whether it's Mayfield, Jackson or Alan Who has longevity here. Go ahead and eat the lines. Let's talk to Joe. He's calling up from Colorado. Joe, you are CBS Sports radio. What do you think? What's up? J R. Thank you for having me on, man. I love your show. I appreciate you. So I like what you said about Josh Alan, and that's my pick, too. The main reason is like you said he. He's literally being smarter with the running that he is doing in the coaching staff is adjust in the running to be an intelligent Like the draw that they ran in the game on that touchdown drive to put him up 14 10. He literally just they picked the perfect time to run that play with him. It didn't put him at any type of risk to really get hurt, and his arm strength is just Overall developed into something that you know a lot of us. Maybe not even the scene a year or two ago, but the way his arm strength is the way of delivering that ball to step on digs and the rest of the Y receiving corps. It's unbelievable. S so I go with Josh Allen development and I hate to say it because I am a Patriot fan, but overall, I can't deny the guy's talent and the development is he's gained over these last three years. He's just gotten better and better. Correct And thank you, Joe. I'm sorry, Joe. Go ahead, finished quickly. I just wanted to make one comment. I what my question is to you about the Steelers. Do you think that but the pre has proven how valuable he is? Because what will Joe we'll talk about the Steelers and in a little while? I mean, obviously a guy who kicks the quarterbacks ass when he has to sit up in and rehab. It takes things away. But we'll talk about that Joe and thank you so much for calling up from Colorado. There's a larger conversation toe have around Steelers. Let's talk to Sam. He's calling up from Atlanta Sam, you are CBS Sports Radio. When you think about the three quarterbacks that I mentioned, whether it's Baker, Mayfield or Alan or Lamar, who do you think we'll have a little bit more longevity to their career? It was thanks for having me on Um, I honestly I think Lamar's the best out of all of them. I mean, he's the best at what he does. Yeah, He's not the best quarterback. Like he has a huge talent that a lot of quarterbacks can do. And yet just sounds not terrible out there on Lamar Jackson. I'm saying he could be like top 10 Top five running back. That's how good he is at running. Sure, I mean, But don't you think that there's ah, a little bit of Ah Ah, stop or you don't necessarily know how much you're going to get out of him from the quarterback position. I mean, he's pretty athletic doesn't seem like you stone down in time soon. Well, define define any time soon. If I have to line up if I have to line up a Lamar Jackson versus a Josh Allen, who do you think we'll have a longer career? Um, probably just Alan. Okay. Well, I like you saying you're looking for the quick knockout. I got you appreciate you for calling up from Atlanta. Yeah, There's no doubt Lamar Jackson is just physically gifted. It's like he's a walking home run every time he touches the football and guess what? When he's on offense. He's touching the football every single time unless it's some type of trick play. But you think about career wise. I think you're you are safer Bet to look at Josh Gary School, enough from Jacksonville. Gary going ahead. Thanks, J. R. You're enjoying the show a couple of things that time they You're absolutely right. Because Steve Allen once said, and nothing against Guatemala. Jackson by You do a good running quarterbacks in the league, but you don't survive being an old running quarterback in the league and to me, Uh, Lamar Jackson just hasn't showed so much. A man finds a complete pastor is not consistent enough. Completing the passion and it seemed like actually threw that it Intersection, especially the officer, coordinated wreck. Woman lost a little bit of confidence in Willmar Jackson and throwing the football. They He just loves the ball too much for my liking and Remember what happened to Robert Griffin when he took that hit Tuesday. He was never the same as a quarterback, but he was a running quarterback. You ever think your eyes a big office and and nothing against Just showing watching, But I don't want the Dolphins to make that trade because I think what employees is building a huge great nucleus there. I want to validation that and he's going there that had a good young players and selected three agents. I want to divide surround er. Do with robotics, myths and playmakers. Okay, you know other guys, and I think that would be the way to go. Listen, Listen, Gary. I think that that rings true for a lot of teams and it's it's not just the Dolphins, obviously to Shawn Watson is one of the top quarterbacks in the game and I look at it dependent on way around. Keep your assets and draft I feel the same way for the New York Jets, and they got a whole lot of capital. They got bigger problems than the Dolphins. When we come back. I'm going to continue to take your phone calls here on these quarterbacks. And yes, we will have a conversation about these Pittsburgh Steelers. Their future and Ben Rafel is Burger. Don't you Move? It's the J. R sport Brief show here on CBS Sports Radio. It's a newsflash. Here's Erica Herskowitz. See me? Yes for sports flag..

Coronavirus infection rates continue to rise in the U.S.

"I would like to start by introducing you to nikki. tomlinson nikki. Tomlinson is an icu. Nurse at great plains health which is in north platte nebraska. At one point in time we had a physician here that everybody knew really well known him for a long time. Then a family doctor for a long time. That was my lowest point I still get teary thinking about it That i've been a nursing for twenty years and that was actually my breaking point. I when he didn't make it i had to. I already had some time off scheduled in that couldn't come at a better time I couldn't get through the next day of work without breaking down for an hour Our every hour was that was probably my darkest time at work. My darkest time over and my last twenty years of nursing so that was a. I was hard and then seeing some other family and friends come in That have fought this. That have beat this. That are scared along the way and other patients. That just aren't making it. I've never seen anything like cova. There's i we don't we just don't know enough about it. We learn new things every day and it seems like things change every day and i it. Just that's the one thing. That's constant about covid fluctuate senate changes and we just learn new things all the time. And that's what makes it scary. I've been a nurse for twenty years. And i've never experienced out like this. It's we're working. Extra shifts were working. We do great as a team but the the stress the emotional stress the physical stress that it is putting on us being there for the patients. Which is what we got into nursing. Four we're the only ones that can be there for some of these patients that most emotional stress losing them. is just. I've never experienced anything like it before. So the emotional and the physical stress. It's exhausting absolutely exhausting. I don't know how we are getting through it. We are but. I don't know how what i'm thankful for right now. During all this time is my health. My fellow coworkers health and my family know my family understanding how many how i have to work the long hours and not always be home during all of this And adapting to a can't touch mommy when you get home or to run and take a shower and And their health. I just hope it continues. But she's thankful for is her own health and the fact that her family doesn't have this. The family hasn't gotten it and she hopes that continues. That's what she's thankful for. Last night. i talked here about my own experience being home in quarantine. I tested negative. But i've been taking care of my partner. Susan while she sick i just wanna say to. Everybody reached out and was so nice. Response it was overwhelming. Actually was really kind. It was had to pick a word. I would say it was boolean to me and susan. So thank you everybody. But you know susan i will be are going to be okay. We are coming out of this. She is coming out of that. She is going to recover the people who i'm really worried about. I'm thinking about even as we're going through our own experiences beyond everybody who's sick and suffering right now. Susan has been these past couple of weeks beyond the eighty thousand plus americans who are in the hospital right now with kovic. The most we've ever had mean beyond the people who are suffering directly themselves trying to fight for their lives with this thing that people are really worried about the healthcare workers who are all over the country right now. We're staring down both barrels of this without the kind of support that they had in the spring when this all started with this now just tidal wave of cases and hospitalizations and deaths all coming down on them directly and personally in a way that does not feel sustainable in terms of them being able to keep doing it and terms of keeping them back stop keeping them supplied keeping them at work keeping the american health system open and able to function so frankly not to be too blunt about it but so save abol people can be saved. That's what i'm worried about. Is our health workers right now in the strain on them this many months into it with things. This bad right now i mean. Here's the front page. Today of the atlanta journal constitution. And you see the mix there right. I mean politically. Of course the big news out of georgia is that georgia. This is this morning's papers. They finish their recount. Yesterday showed once again. That biden clearly won the stage that set the stage. Today for georgia formerly certify its results and of course that's significant news. We'll talk more about that later tonight but but look at. What else is sharing the front page with that. Huge political news right see. Stay home for the holiday. Georgia state health official. Ads rethink traditional thanksgiving below that. There's the biggest front page headline in atlanta. Today it makes me shake with anger. That's a quote from a doctor who works in a covert war in atlanta talking about people blowing off the risk as the number skyrocket and as the hospitals get overwhelmed. You see their healthcare workers on the front lines feel. They are fighting a losing battle as public floats safety rules. That's georgia today. It's the same song up in minnesota. Today this is the west central tribune in willmar minnesota front page headline today. A plea for help. Hospitals are perilously close to running out of workers. It's one thing to run out of beds beds can be found in moved and bought but enough healthcare staff to take care of patients who are in those beds. That is what we are running out of in rural minnesota and all over the country. Here's the first column in that same paper today. Case rates skyrocket in the region again. That's west central minnesota. Here's the front page of the news star in monroe louisiana blunt headline hospitals overwhelmed. Here's the front page in grand junction colorado. Today the daily sentinel county says. Icu beds are full. Here's the front. Page in muncie indiana. Today the star. Press in muncie. Indiana hospitals cove in nineteen rates. Sores in indiana go to wyoming. The casper star tribune today casper wyoming deaths rise by record number. Something has got to turn this around kentucky. Here's the lexington kentucky paper. The herald leader kentucky sets staggeringly high new record for coronavirus cases. Go to new mexico the albuquerque journal today cova cases explode up in washington state bellingham herald. State virus rate's the worst since the beginning of pandemic all over the country right and as as overwhelming as this crisis is may now tonight. We've just learned that. The president's eldest son and namesake. Donald trump junior has it as well he has tested. Positive is reportedly isolating hope that he doesn't get symptoms so far apparently doesn't god blessed and maybe the president's eldest son who has such a high profile in the republican party now and in conservative media. Now maybe that will have an impact on thinking about this thing at the white house and in the conservative media on the right maybe even if the president himself getting it didn't seem to light a fire under them. I don't know but as overwhelming as this crisis is we are avoidably at this moment in history where we have two huge totally unprecedented crises. Heading simultaneously the minneapolis star tribune. Today i was actually a pretty good snapshot of what the heck we as americans are supposed to do with the twin disasters. We've got all at once and look at the front page at the minneapolis star tribune today a raging forest fire virus sweeps minnesota state to get ambulances from fema for surge importantly those are staffed ambulances so ambulance with their crews from fema going into minnesota to help them deal with patients and the need to move patients in hospitals. That are overwhelmed

Ravens to sit Lamar, other starters vs. Steelers?

"A stupid here we go from yesterday thirty nine just to sell checks in with pressure coming Jack to party down to see so you go Willmar doing it again of course now the big question gentleman yes the debate roles sure the ravens who have procured and secured hold build advance for the entire AFC playoffs and did good and obviously they won their division they play the Steelers next week do they play Lamar and mark Ingram or not in fact you play your starters not because if they don't then you have an open week and he doesn't play for three weeks essentially before the playoffs resume you played sparingly what you do is you blame sparingly you do like the pre season you get like the first five ten snaps and maybe intermittently as need be in them I'd say Lamar don't run well I mean easy you just plain sparingly apartment there's literally nothing to play for this last week for the radish wonder if it's hard to knock off right for for the Steelers weight was rose I think still isn't running still I thought they were still in the running with with Tennessee for the final wild card spot is that why don't they get that by the fact though if Tennessee loses to Houston yep yeah my heart so so they are playing for something I mean right now it's looking like it's gonna be the ravens in the saints in the Super Bowl and wrestling catastrophic happened the other cabbie out to this the question comes in Lamar is right now the leading vote getter probably to win the MVP should he take a day off that may not be that he still can't have repeated it all right one what a acted with malice he still get me of knowledge because I didn't the year that Peyton manning wanted didn't he what he in that same situation and didn't he basically fell in week seventeen and nobody batted an eye at it right now you're looking at right now you're super bowls going to be the ravens in the saints unless something crazy goes off the rails and so one of those are you know you're not impressed by the forty Niners beating the saints down in the the doll now now it's forty nine were right in the same tune I watch I watch the saints in Titans yesterday in that same theme is the real deal I mean you got you got drew Brees breaking records all over the place what's his name the cat they just broke the receiving record he broke up Harriman's record you know is this the saints are clicking on all cylinders right now right you know what would be a really it would take a lot of a bizarre circumstances to get to this okay it's so you say it is saints ravens and then something happens to drew Brees in minutes teddy versus Lamar would be funny well that it but honestly I hate to say this about that ex that he did a phenomenal job formed in the regular season right right now seems lose breeze I mean teddies good is great well no visible quality great get them where they need to be I don't know I wish because I like to have a soft spot in my heart for teddy because it's flea think the same problem is their defense of Friday and they don't have the they don't have the where with all to be a couple teams on on the way to the Superbowl but that's just me I just say I do too and I've got a soft spot for teddy because I mean honestly let's let's admit it's it's easy to be a big fan of Lamar Jackson's and your whole nations ride his right but you know teddy really blazed a trail in teddy didn't get nearly the credit he deserves in this town for what he did for love it's well that's the I mean written for Lamar bringing out your ravens Jersey that's the sexy thing to do that's the trendy in thing slowing fruit for the sports media right but you know teddy story is phenomenal he gets nowhere because everybody had all the Vikings jerseys and then the minute teddy got hurt those all went away in a few people had a Saint's Jersey Tate and I'll tell you didn't want the love he he don't need his studies we as attendees content with yes but he's awesome I got a soft spot for ten in the same absolutely I mean you know what the boat the best part about all this is is it finally we could stop talking about the patriots well maybe I mean they're still there to eleven wins this year yeah no but that jailbreak conversation that doesn't involve the patron I thought no way they were going to be buffalo yesterday and you know what will happen is in in if the ravens go on this and they start creating a dynasty I guarantee you in about ten years will be having the same conversation about the ravens good that because that's what we do I mean we just hate teams that are good I I've seen it every decade no but I can live with the ravens
