"The ball when he got hot. There wasn't very many people get hotter. Just put it that way. great hitter. I don't know about his teammates skills. But it's just a five game series. Senator like care everywhere he went. They won cleveland boston. They won. He transformed the dodgers into a winning team after the records finally left. I love manny. Even though he's taking estrogen or whatever ails taking when he got busted for what we for. Everyone's doing yup all right I am going to pick rickey. Henderson is my leftfielder. He's gonna be batting leadoff. He's gonna steal like forty bases. We're still out of base some team. Not my catcher is maybe not pelos but many of the jet and regifters are gonna steal the basis organisms. Isn't going to bat for power. You hit a leadoff homerun or you might just bunt and then steal his way all the way around the basis lover i think the i think the only one any refers to itself the third person. So you gotta love aghanistan. I think he's hidden off of maybe twelve year. Old daniel monday and this lineup. I mean this rotation. I have where he anderson off. Anybody center field should be pretty straightforward. He's also in little big league going with ken. griffey junior. Of course evan. From basically to yeah that's centerfield. There's no to be. There's some other guys in there not really hitting vise jim. Edmonds comes to mind is a good center. Fielder field in is He actually hit for decent power with the angels there for a little bit. This love. ken griffey junior. I mean he should be the logo. The hat backwards kind of made it fun. When it wasn't during the strike time. I dislike griffey. How can you bring your virginia. All right. i'm just going to pick another person from movie. Willie mays hayes. He's gonna play centerfield for me. It's like maize runs like hayes both versions both both wesley snipes. Ano- more both of them. Yeah he can hit for power but they don't want him to..

"Greenie with you on ESPN radio musical choice of Bruce Springsteen is not a coincidence. Today is his 71st birthday. Bruce Springsteen is 71. It's hard to believe 71 years old today. Bruce Springsteen Happy Birthday Greedy with You will take the show out today with your calls, eight, say ESPN because I got to thinking with the passing of Gale Sayers, which you talked about a great length today in the legendary movie. Ryan song, which again if you make it through that moved without crying. I wonder if something is wrong with you. And today is also the 20th anniversary of the release of Remember the Titans. It got me thinking, What's the greatest sports movie ever made? Let's have some fun talking about it. Mike, you're on ESPN Radio Mike What's the best sports movie ever? Greatest sports movie ever. Any any given Sunday. It might not be the best from a sports their point. But it has everything you're looking for. Star power, great storylines, drama and show you two really What really could happen to a coach in a play at the end of the season if they're not getting the job done? I like it. I like it might not anywhere near my favorite. But I know a lot of people did love it any given Sunday sort of a controversial pick. I think amongst football people, most of the football people. I know the football players I know did not like it because they did not think the football was very realistic at all. Let's see who is next year. I II write these things down and I can't read them myself. Frisco Frisco, You're next with Greenie. What's the best sports movie ever? Frisco Hey, Greeny, Flemington, New Jersey first. So here, thanks for taking the call. Greatest forthe movie and down, along with the most underrated quarterback in the history of football. Leo Farnsworth. Heaven can wait. Warren Beatty ordered great movie star power along with being a Steelers fan loved eclipse of the Steelers Ram. Match corporal playing that whatever it was, you know, I love it. I love that when you have to tell me I love that movie That's with Charles Grodin and they were going aways. By Julie Christie. It's an old movie as a moving from my childhood. That is a great movie, and it is a ton of sports in it. I don't know that I think of it as a sports movie, but you're right. He is a quarterback, and the whole movie is about him trying to get back to playing quarterback. So I'll take it. It's actually a fantastic movie having Khun Wait. I think that was nominated for an Oscar for best picture from not mistaken, Blaine. You're next up greatest movies sports movie ever saw. Blaine go. A green gum. I love Major League baseball season due to heart disclaimer. Being a pirate fan Major league always gave me hope that pirates do something when the tribe got divide. Wild thing was like the prototype closer on the lines out in the outfield, too high, too high banging drums and Wesley Snipes snag and bag. You know Willie Mays Hayes, who wouldn't want to play for Lou Brown? You know if you take that call in the garage, says there's no way that you're from the Yankees. It's a great great And you left out even my favorite parts of that movie, which are Bob Ugur. Bob Ugur in that movie is that maybe it's just because I'm a sportsman answer. But Bob Ugur in that movie, I think is priceless. Ly funny. That's also a good movie. Major league is a movie that is not just funny, but is a genuinely good movie..

"The field and watch the movie or just sit in the stands. Everything will be socially distant. Of course, though, the names here Field of dreams. The sand lot will be Friday, September 11. I love the sandlot. So that's the first one September 25th Angels in the outfield. And then Friday, October 9th a league of their own All cried at the end of that one. I love that you send me a taxi One day. This is a couple of years ago a random Saturday I'm sitting around you Just send me a text out of the blue when they start crying, those old broads break my heart. At the end of the movie where they're all old and walking around and some of them died, and they're looking in the memories and the hot the female Hall of Fame and it was just it too sad that was, you know. That one kid like, Where is your mom? Because it was whoever the kid's name that used to run up and down the aisle the bottle Well, Stillwell or something like that. He just had this sad look on his face and shook his head. A zit to say No, My mom has died. And it was the fat guy from Pee Wee's big adventure. Francis Francis. Here's the grownup did but the fact that you refer to him as those old broads in your text. I took away the emotional, sentimental tie and I guess you got to play Major League. The the flicks at Victory Feel right is that full on family friendly appeal in the sections off of the owner and Willie Mays. Hayes doesn't make it to second base that he flips the guy home saying that I gotta be playing Bull Durham att correct flicks of Victory Field for baseball Night That's not goingto happen, but Tommy Lee Jones and Cobb they're not going to play hob. That's not happening either. But out there If you want to buy tickets, you gotta buy him in advance. 100 pods, which are the things on the field are available. 75 bucks apiece. For just 10 bucks..

"Online in real time. Remember the rocket mortgage can J. Earlier You said that you were a big baseball guy. So I imagine that you love the movie majorly correct. Of course. So I want to pose this question to you guys 855 to 124227 Fully understanding that Major league is a movie, so you have to do some things you have to Been the truth a little bit. You have to do some things that maybe don't make a lot of sense in a really life kind of way. What's the most unrealistic thing in the movie Major league because I'm sitting down one day and I'm like, You know what? I haven't seen Major league in a long time. I've been watching a lot of baseball. Let me get back into the baseball mood, so I started watching Major league And this question popped in my head. So, Jay, I want to hear your answer, but this is my answer. The most unrealistic part about the movie Major league is the manager. Think about where Lou Brown Wass Lou Brown was working at a Firestone I don't know if he was the manager. I don't know if he was the owner of the Firestone. But when the Cleveland Indians call my man, Lou Brown he was working at Jiffy Lube. Hey, was working in Meineke. Whenever they call my guy. And remember, he didn't even immediately take the job. He's like, I don't know. I gotta I gotta para whitewalls coming. And then he said, I'll have to call him back. He had to think about if you wanted to be. The Cleveland Indians manager. I'm trying to think of a more unrealistic part of the movie. Now Major League is an absolute classic. There's some great characters, whether it's Willie Willie Mays Hayes are Rick Wild thing, Vaughn. Or Pedro Cerrano. I mean, there was some great all time characters. It's maybe the best sports movie of all time, this side of rocky But I want to know from you guys. What's the most own realistic thing In the movie Major league? You could call up 855 to 1 suit for 2 to 7. Our tweet Me Cdot Harrison or CBS Sports Radio. So J. You're a baseball guy. You love the movie Major league because nobody who loves baseball doesn't love the movie Major League. What's the most unrealistic thing in the movie? From a baseball standpoint? I'm not sure that while things hold onto his closer job for that long I mean the inconsistency. You know the stuff there, but the you know it is almost a liability out there for any team that he's going to be on. So I don't think that I'm a manager. I have the patience to stick with a guy that long. We also aren't even talking about the fact that he was an unknown guy from prison. Exactly that he's an unknown guy from prison. Then he's like, Hey, where'd you play ball That last year, the fall League double a California penal. What? That you could go from prison to the major leagues. If you're an established guy like you are, Vic and you're the man before you go out. People will want to see if you still got it. That's not what Rick Wild thing Vaughn Wass with a 29 year old convict that is enters the major league and then becomes Eric Gagne. Like very unrealistic. I'll tell you another thing in the movie J. It's very unrealistic. You do not have the ability for a walk on tryout for Major League baseball team. You don't I know you work in media? Maybe you know somebody, but next time they met to the Yankees. Are convening for spring training. Just try to randomly show up and see what happens. Just randomly show up and then tell them I'm playing on putting a hitting display. Tell them that And then Let's see if they let you stay there long enough for you to fall asleep. So if you remember in the movie Major league Willie Mays Hayes goes to sleep. They then go and they checked the box. They then realize his name's not on the box. Okay, all right. They then move my man from the dorm. And take the bed outside. I don't know how you guys were sleepers. I'm not sleeping through somebody picking my bed up, setting it outside and still sleeping through the night. I mean, I hear birds outside shirt, but I instantly wake up and think so. I tried to break into the house. So Willie Mays Hayes is in this scenario. He then wakes up in the middle of nowhere and says, How about I'm cut and then no stretching. No warm ups. No shoes still in his pajamas, my man. Beats two other guys in a race who have been doing all of those things and then gets to stay around on the team and then makes the team even though we can't hit That doesn't happen. Is a lot of things in the movie major leagues. That's very unbelievable. Now, J. I will say this I don't know if this happens all the time. I'm not a major league baseball player. But I do think There have been situations. Where someone on the team talked to another team mates whether its current girlfriend, ex girlfriend, current wife, ex wife and had absolutely no clue. Maybe you haven't been around long enough. I believe that had happened. But here's my question to you, Jay. How does this happen at the end of the season like you were telling me that the Indians never had any team function in which Dorn brought his wife? So she was around the team. It's not like Rick Vaughn with some September call up. He was a critical member of the team..

G. P. and that was that it doesn't even at this point have to be about sports but we can break down the movie Philadelphia it's all about just breaking down decision making such as you know we could get to the point where maybe we do two other shipping movies a week one movies sports the other is just something random you know in history or something like that if we break down the decision making in the movie one of these years Philadelphia yeah right when uplifting tale during this time that I can do that well I just I need Shawn's very deep thoughts on such heavy topics every hole away from sport when you go away from sports yeah right yeah we need more as breaking down Tom Hanks battling HIV like it was Willie Mays Hayes in a play at the plate now yeah I didn't know that either way I just watched about fourteen times yep it has about the ninety three Phillies morass right now it is definitely not only to definitely not it was not like this not about the seventy six flyers Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson we presented additional topic this any colors that are from yes I'll tell water blowing out his ACL at the vet sorry thanks for walking me to that if you want to check out our major league at the movies majorly to.

"At the movies major league too I want to do champion Shyam based on the casting of this film champs how about finding Dennis Haysbert early in his career to play slugger Pedro Serrano he's part would go on to play president David Palmer in twenty four among other very memorable awesome role now also an insurance salesman on a million commercials but he's bird was truly find for the directors what casting by Major League it also Bob you Kerr is such a star he he really makes the film Hey you don't John candy I love John candy with him as a play by play guy rookie of the year pales in comparison to you because you created actual broadcaster with unbelievable sense of humor playing the father and Mr Belvedere I mean the Eucharist Harry Doyle is sold phenomenal that major league just nailed the casting with those two guys I did major league too it continues to shine those are the champs today Zacks D. A.'s trips your child is trying to swap it out for more apps for Willie Mays Hayes look I know that at that point in time you had this starts taking off of the original Willie Mays Hayes okay and trying to get him back on the shoot clearly wasn't working and so yeah I had to make good with what you had it so you'd go with Omar apps there but obviously you can't just swap out a totally different actors expect us not to be distracted by that and to me that was the problem here because Willie Mays Hayes is not Omar at fort anybody okay it's just not it's always going to be the original and without that without Wesley snipes it just makes you disoriented so they should have made all of our apps like Billy Mays Hayes like his brother okay if we get a Willie Mays Hayes went on to a different team or Willie Mays Hayes retired from baseball that offseason and that his brother Billy Mays Hayes was Omar at I could have gotten down with that war but rewatching Major League too it is so distracting Alvares is supposed to be the original Wesley snipes which she is not that is the jump from.

"How if you were in my shoes. Jared does it media professional would you evaluate someone who's largely responsible helping to put together a sports talk radio show, if they'd never seen the film and looked at you with deer in the headlights when you brought up a major league reference or as long as he followed up by saying, I promise you Bill I'll have this done by tonight. I'll go and watch it, then that's that's fine. I can't wait to hear the of the oral report that's due. Give tomorrow night on on major league, Stewart Kovacs don't do the review you've seen the film, you're claiming I've seen it. Yes. Sorry for everyone. Who's unfamiliar with stews? Abilities as it relates to breaking down films. When I started on the show, Stu had never seen a movie, I only ever seen a movie. This is a true story. We remember level lot in a while. He did it we made into a five best movies of all time. This is a true story. Ryan, I'm not making this up. Right. And they can't see you thumbs up. They can't say you have to say on the microphone. No bill. You're not making this up. Okay. I can see the folks can. And he had I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry on on five greatest of all time. So we made him watch. We made a much billions. And this was his riveting review of billions the tone. I would say. It's between acts and. It's it's very it's I'm trying to give anything away. See it's very tense. I would say the start season it starts off very tense. They're kind of concerned about something not to give it away though. Of course. I don't I it's hard if I don't give self. Hey. Yeah. Those spoilers. It's very tense. They're concerned about something you say, well, they've redone television over on Jovem Stewart also never seen Tom Cruise movie never seen. It Denzel movie. We actually had many of you vote on what Denzel film. He should watch. Was it? Remember the titans that we that you still don't. Yeah. It was. And unfortunately, this was stews review. I thought Denzel as coach Boone was very good. Boy, if it's going to be a long segment, and I think Denzel coach Boone does a great job. I enjoyed it. I thought it was good. Definitely commands. The screen. He's a he's a great presence. He he's very powerful actor know. Describe it really searching for that word, really powerful. He's great. He's a great actor. I mean, Ryan, you don't we don't think he ever watched the movie, right? No chance no chance. I mean. There's nothing coach boom, Denzel is an actor. And he acted as as coach, boom. But he's really he's really Denzel and arts are you ready music for this or just straight straight. Give straight review. I don't need the extra noise in my might throw me off for my great. I'm gonna do a little intro for you. Okay. Okay. Without further ado, it's time for the Stuart Kovacs review of the film major league. All right Bill. So I really think that Charlie Sheen commit getting. Yeah. I watched it. I thought it was really funny. There are a lot of reference. There are a lot of references. I never got before. Like just a bit outside like MacAulay. Yeah. I've heard that before. And I just thought it I thought it was good. It reminded me of ninety space ball know, the owner the new owner of the Indians after her husband passes away. He's trying to move the team really a land of misfit players. And some of the characters are great. I mean while thing Ricky was amazing. I loved Willie Mays Hayes. Right Bill, y'all view. You don't like the way this is going. But I thought it was good. It's just a bunch of guys come together day starts. He's really bad. And then they wind up coming all the way back in the Yankees and that one game playoff and get into the playoffs. He thought it was a really good night. He's moving nineties, basically eight ages now you said nineties, you're right. I did it brought me back to the nineties when I it was kind of in that same area. I know eighty nine right? So it was like the eighties baseball. Let's see looked it up and Wikipedia. I I I did look it up before. I watched it. Yeah. I didn't know seventies or nineties. I wouldn't have known can you can you can you name three other characters? Yes. Taylor. Yeah. Jake taylor. Pedro the the voodoo guy he was he was in sitting and Dorn. Roger, I'm not good. I'm really bad at names really with movies too. So that's also. Yes, did you really watch the film? I did. Yes. I turned on my Amazon prime video. It was there is free. It was great watch. It is like an hour and a half hour, forty minutes. So it's great. What are your views review? Was I watched it. It's about baseball with. What is what is your? I mean, it's like how brought you back to the nineties. It's a bunch of misfits in the nineties. It was eighty nine is late eighties. Probably back to the late eighties before I was born what we'll say just like there was a baseball movie bunch of you know, guys, they got off the street and they wind up making the playoffs. Yes, they did trust. You have anything you want to add have you seen major league? Ryan. I have. Yes. Okay. Thank you. It sounds like Stu went to spark notes and just read a brief summary. Busy come together, really. Say you wanted to recite lines from I really I mean, some version of really enjoyed the film and how it speaks to the underdogs ability to come in when they're utterly doubted and rally a city that both doesn't believe in them in the beginning. But no one believes in that city and together create an environment of belief excitement with the villain internal as the owner symbolizing everyone who ever doubted them, they're not just beating back baseball. They're beating back life that didn't ever think they were gonna make it like that. Yeah. That might be a little better than my view view review. You know? Yeah. You're a little better than me. We got up in the month. We got over the months. My thing is I don't really care. I just don't think you actually watched it. I still don't know. Well, there's no way you watched. Remember, the titans province you. I did. There's no chance. Do you think you watch major league trace you gotta give them that one? I don't think. So I mean, his view sounded bland and as general as the other billions review in the room at the titans. So I think all I watch billiards Bill. You really liked Taylor who Jake Taylor like trying to to get back with the girlfriend that left him for the other guy. And then at the end, she wound up, you know, breaking off that engagement, and that's not a movie and that was toward union. Was it not not happen to my making it up the best lines in the film? We can't hand radio. But I love reforms her back to the fiance's house in the I can't say. Stay away from her bleat, my belief. I mean, it's just. All right. Great review Kovacs for the three of you still listening. A love your mom. A love you dad. I love you. Lori eight five five two one two four CBS is the phone number. Yikes. Watch this. Anyway from the Joe. Trubisky mitchell. Bisky earlier the bears quarterback. We're gonna play that conversation on right of the new with me Bill Ryder, the trace, you know, Ebert over there Stewart Kovacs after this CBS sports radio update with Gregg Caserta? Sports play and built my theory. Is that still watch the movie, but wasn't quite paying attention on his phone talking to people doing that sort of thing. So well, we'll sure about the Boston. In the meantime, for game four of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

I don't know much about this is that true. Well nascar. Lot of. In nascar. Jeff Gordon wants in the nineteen ninety seven. Winston which is nascar's all-star Alzheimer's. And it just sounded so cool when it was the Winston oughta. Anyway, there's a guy named Rick stump? And Rix was this revolutionary engineer and nascar's rulebook back in the day had all these gray areas in it where by the letter of the law. Something was illegal. But you could finagle it where it was basically a pamphlet. Like, it was not the rule. Book was not a thick book today. It's like lamb. The matrix and its labor. Big eyeball dots on the car. Anyway, wreck stunt decides that he is going to build a race car that it takes advantage of every single gray area in the NASCAR rulebook, and it was called the T Rex it was a Jurassic Park headed giant giant T-rex own the hood. And that thing was it was the baddest race card. It was it was as ones deals where even if you didn't know anything about racing. You would watch the race. And it looked like a sly. Look that car was gonna slot going around a racetrack. And air Bayelsa barely hanging on like, that's the car. I would be I would pick that one out of the crowd. If I was going to my first race. Yes. And it looked cool. It looked real. It was read with that big old t Rex head on the hood. And would they do with it when it was over with? They took that thing NASCAR. Probably put first of all they took it back to the lab and studied every boat wage it. Pop rivet up, and then they probably took it to the crusher. Yeah. They said they said that. That's that's awesome. Congratulations don't ever bring that car back to the track arrogant, and they tried. They tried to bring it back the next week for the coq six hundred and got busted. And so they said, Nope, haul it out of here. We're going to rip it apart. Like when old Lou Brown? Remember when Willie Mays Hayes that the basket catch what Lou Brown said, I will obviously can't repeat that here on the family program..

"That's terrifying. There are a number of measles cases that have been reported in Washington and the governor's declaring a state of emergency. Alex stone is covering the story for us joins us for all the latest, Alex. What's up, Shannon, Willie Mays Hayes? How you doing? Welcome back. You may run like Hayes, but you hit like. All right. Alex is going to be invited to the company softball game. Okay. But yes on the measles. This is now a an active outbreak. There are thirty five confirmed cases eleven suspect cases right now. Do they think are probably measles? But the one common denominator here is they are mostly children, and they are unvaccinated. The news comes down to the parents who have not vaccinated their children and now at schools at medical offices at the Portland airport. This is happening. Just over the the state line in Washington and Clark county. Did this is where mainly children are getting sick. Is this one of those areas where we're talking about people who do not like vaccines? They don't trust the vaccines. And this is maybe why it's a cropping up there. Yeah. Quite possibly, and there is a large group in Clark county today are against vaccinating. And I mean, you just read the numbers on here. The CDC today saying that one person with measles will infect twelve eighteen people on average who are unvaccinated ninety percent of unvaccinated people who are exposed airborne droplets will get sick. And these droplets can be in the air for two hours after somebody leaves a room. So you're at a mall, you're at an airport. Somebody who's got measles sneezes, and then two hours later you walk through, but you're not vaccinated. And then all of a sudden you get it in the ninety percent infection rate for those run. Vaccinated. So this is a big problem. They've got right now. The state of emergency has been declared the military department in Washington stepping up as well. They're talking about quarantining if they need to quarantine the numbers just keep going up day by day, and it was relatively slow. But now it's gone up a few every day, and we're up to thirty five with the other eleven likely, and they don't know how high it's going to go take us back forty years and tell us what measles does. Well, first of all, the US thought a pretty much a radical this and doctors say that measles as the most contagious human disease that we know about just because of how easy it is to spread but begins with a mild fever cough. It's a runny nose. It's red is followed by Arash. But then some people get seizures confusion, they get paralysis. And in the mortality rate is somewhere between ten and twenty percent. And it's children the worst. Typically, they get it at a much easier base that Abby infection rate and quicker, but it can affect adults as well. All but one of those who are sick right now are under the age of eighteen there's one in the early twenties. But kids are definitely the the most susceptible to it. When the governor wrote made remarks on the declaration on the state of emergency declaration. He was talking about the potential for this to spread to other counties. Now, I know obviously, he can't declare it for a region, you know, the western states. But is there a chance that this spreads outside of Vancouver? The Vancouver Portland area into Idaho, Canada, even Oregon, etc. Absolutely, especially Oregon because we are. We're talking about the the area right around Portland. DC's suburban Portland. So it's happening right now technically in Washington, but just over the Columbia River, so the the Portland area and then moving on from Portland, Oregon would probably be. Most likely there would be next. But all you need is one kid to get on an airplane and fly to Chicago. Then you're gonna have a problem there to New Orleans or to LA to San Francisco. So I yeah, I mean it could spread and that is a major concern right now, it is Washington state. But the most likely next victim is going to be Oregon if it continues to spread and there's no sign it's gonna stop anytime soon, the the actual disease. What is it going to do to these people? Well depends on how sick they get. And how early they get treatment. Because early on it does seem like you're you maybe have a cold. The you've got the fever. Maybe the flu the Dacosta the runny nose red eyes. But then it's that rash and the rash develops. And that's the telltale sign, but up some of these some of them have now gotten better because this goes back to January first some are recovering one has been hospitalized. Which is surprising that number hasn't been higher based on how. Sick folks can get especially children, but you can buy and that's the biggest concern here that ten to twenty percent mortality rate that these are unpack stated children that don't have immune system that can fight it. And there is that chance that they can the vaccine by the way and everybody has their their debate on the vaccine, but the vaccine according to the CDC ninety nine percent affective that if you've gotten the two shots that the most of us got when we were kids that ninety nine percent chance that that you or your kids are going to be perfectly fine. But it's the unvaccinated that this is spreading amongst right now. Alex stone. Thank you. Appreciate it. You got it. Thanks while bang and Shannon. How many major league drops that? I show you the Joe, boo. Guys lot is brilliant by the end of the day Wednesday. That Rome was gone. Yeah. I bet. "Let's do four interesting things before we get to the actual categories four things that I thought were cool or interesting while I was watching these and feel free, of course to jump in. I just mentioned the thing about how we watched Nino killed us to cops in the shootout right after we find out. Scotty is a cop they come busting. And everybody's firing guns was crazy about this about this big gun fight. Shootout is he doesn't kill the cops with gun. He slits one guy's throat with a knife. And then he stabs another guy in the stomach like you hear all the time. The saying about don't bring a knife to a gunfight like did. And he was fine. It worked out. It was like he went full Rambo in that where he was like hiding. He had some disguises memory. Yes. Dead for a second cop. And it turns out he's not dead. Yeah. Any jacks up one of the cops. When he comes to check on them. Interesting thing. Number two, Barry, Michael Cooper, one of the new Jack cities co writers he said he wrote the role of Nino Brown specifically for Wesley Snipes after he saw him. In Michael Jackson's bad video ride, which is fantastic. I watched the video again to see this part and Wesley is is great in it. It's so funny to watch him opposite of Michael Jackson, and there's video because Wesley Snipes for real brilliant actor because people forget that because he's done so much action stuff or he's done blade or whatever. But watching him be an actor in that music videos, like OC like everybody else is just waiting for Michael Jackson start dancing, and he's filming a movie right now. I remember when interview with Barry Michael Cooper said he thought that they'd gotten a real hoodlum. Yeah. Yeah. You know to be in this video opposite, Michael Jackson, man. You know, obviously, they hadn't seen major league Willie Mays Hayes. You know, the fantastic. Thank you. I'm a Cleveland Indians fan. I had the shot that out. But the point is, you know, he's evil in that in that video was even believable, despite the fact that people start dancing, very shortly thereafter. Yeah. I think your point about we forget about was Lee Snipes is one thousand percent, right. Like, we're however many years on from this movie now, and we're a long way removed from Wesley Snipes being a massive movie star but in the late eighties and early nineties. He was huge. Yeah. Interesting thing. Number three, Martin Lawrence was originally supposed to play poopie. I didn't know that what he apparently nailed the audition, and he was going to do it. They offered in the role. But right before they started filming Robin Harris passed away, and they were really close, and he like took that super hard until he pass on the movie, and that's how Chris rock ended up in that spot. Chris rock, apparently he said he did a bad job in the dish in. He didn't think he was gonna get it. But then as soon as he got there, the cameras are rolling. And it was like this guy's magic. He killed it. Yeah. And Martin actually has this. He has a scene in the TV show Martin where they recreate the boardroom scene from new Jackson when they that catch the Middle East on YouTube fantastic. He where he comes in with a chain. He's got an stuffed Rottweiler. He does the Sicher your as down before. He does all of it is wonderful, and that was like his hat tip last interesting thing, and I don't know if this is on purpose or accident, but cash money Brotherston, he knows gang. The initials are seeing be that's berry, Michael Cooper's initials, but backwards, right? And I read in the thing like he mentioned he mentions the initial thing. He doesn't say was something he thought about ahead of time. Or did it just sort of happen by accident? I thought that was cool. If I didn't move I would have so much shit pointed back toward me. I love that too. And it goes back to what we talked about. You know, making smart moves not only did he set up that elaborate business operation where people were coming in with their blockbuster cars and whatnot. He had branding. They had jackets. Identify. Law enforcement wise, bad idea. Right, but merch we loved her good. I mean, it's real static of the nineties..

"And hopefully, you will be with us for a long long time. Hopefully, everybody's Year's Eve celebration was great, by the way. This is the second time this every time we got a new TV as a quick aside. And I promise this will be quick. Yeah. When we when we rented the the the Mayweather McGregor fight. We just got a new TV, right? Is they went to the center, and we have people over to the center of the ring I hit the wrong button. Could we missed the first thirty seconds of the fight, right? Last New Year's Eve jenner's sitting on our couch. She got a little champagne sipping a little Johnny blue kids are asleep fires cracking balls about the drop. Jen. On her part of her behind. She was moving over shut the TV off at eleven fifty nine and thirty seven seconds. I was going like this. We get this thing on. I got an on shut literally just before route crazy. Let's get these calls. Yes. And you, and I will I know we'll get into the Tomlin stuff, which I believe we fundamentally disagree upon in terms of comparability for the head coach. I just know the guy. That's the only reason I I'm biased tell. I know. Great transparency. Right. Let's see. What's happened? And let's get and the question is if you have an opening it wide receiver knowing all, you know, about Brown. Would you want them to get Patrick in Arizona? He's up. I he key and Tierney what a Pat. Hey, what's up, man? Happy new year. The pressure that's opening for wide receiver here Brown. Mhm? Now too much drama. Much. Will he will? Sports. Show for that. They should give a Pat hold on a sec. Here's the thing. And I wouldn't want him either. But I want to challenge you on one of the things you said, you said he needs to know his role and do his job. He does do his job. Yes. He had fifteen touchdowns the second most targets in receptions of the NFL with fourteen hundred yards. He does his job. Yeah. So claiming. Brag about the greatest need to. Necessarily office all this stuff. Crying that does a plumber the role. Yeah. But you know, what here's the problem? Patrick. I appreciate your call. It's it's it's almost like athletes. These days are trying to be brands and they're trying to represent something this lifestyle. Whatever it is common showed up in a helicopter. What was it? Last Bentley Willie Mays Hayes coming into training walls. Trade was a Rolls Royce. Whatever it was it was okay. Great would amaze. You may run lie. You may you may run. Like, hey, why can't I get that? You may run. Like, hey, you might run like Hayes, but you hit like bleep great. Great line from that movie as you may run like me, you may run like Mays, but you hit like bleak made him do the pushups every time. You pop went up in the cage, but that is problematic. And I know it's just a little snapshot of his personality chopper Rolls, Royce. But anybody else doing that? No, exactly. It's look at me. Yup. Tim is in South Carolina, and Tim is on Tiki and Tierney, what's up, Tim? Hey, what's up fellas? Happy new year. Happy new year to Jimmy for twenty nine to be fantastic. What's up, man? What do you got? Yeah. Ball blessings as well. For y'all in twenty nineteen as well. Nice. I gotta I gotta check you guys. Okay. I know Ben has. A professional in my opinion. Because he does a great teammate. He's been a great teammate by deflecting. This. Antonio wouldn't have touch touches. Daddy has if it wasn't for Ben throwing them the ball. Yeah. But it's spends job. He's got. Yeah. He's got it from the ball. Yeah. But he's got a he can pick somebody else. And that was the problem to begin with is that Antonio Brown Assad where he had don't get me wrong. I like the guy I like him he's gopher football. But just like Odell Beckham. I'm not a giants fan. I'm originally from New Jersey. But go ahead. Get me wrong giants fan. But I'm just gonna say this Odell Beckham was I believe the only person in the NFL that could catch the ball with one hand Brown. Does it somebody else? Does it everybody? Does it? So you're replaceable don't become complacent. Like, you're just it's not a marriage where you have to stay in it. Yeah. Tim. But here's an issue. I don't think that he's being complacent. In fact, I think he he wants the ball. He wants to be all I agree. He wants to be an all pro he wants to do all of that stuff. It's all of the other nonsense. It's unnecessary. I I'm trying to figure out I asked this question. He doesn't have an answer. I'm asking you all why is he acting this way? What what beef could be? So I don't know a fronted to you that you have to get into a fight with teammate your quarterback. And then not show up at practice. I it doesn't make sense to me. No. And unless there's something really personal it's undercut. You know, something really meaningful to him. It was out of bounds. If it's not that which I think it is. I just think football related. It makes knows look this still happens the active trust me, I've got plenty of fights with people and no one ever heard about it. Would be boys. We do our job. It's our job. I don't I don't get. This just doesn't make sense to me. I can't certainly speak to what it's like to to have those those moments in a in a professional locker. But even the rest of society that wasn't good enough to play pro sports like all of us, except you pretty much and then the other athletes equate this to your childhood, you get into your best friend next. You know, three hours later your in a basement watch the game shoot hoops dinner going to get ice cream. Go to the park ride your bike play thrown snowballs nearly upset for an hour. Yes. That's why I use the word and the term there's a there's a psychological baggage. There's something not saying these crazy police done trying to stay in my lane on. I don't I don't have multiple degrees. I have journalism degrees. But I don't I don't know how somebody that's that successful in terms of tangible results on the field that is properly compensated that has. An incredible brand is that unhappy and that unstable I can only point to something within that. Ain't right. And that's why I brought up in Rothlisberger is Big Ben marginalizing him in some way. Even if it's subtly as making them feel like he's not the man that he that. He did he actually is. So you point the bid because this is who the argument was with least reportedly by jail. See our our insider here at CBS. But if it's Big Ben with Big Ben doing and even if he is doing something, it's not showing up. He he's throwing him the ball, which is matters at the end of the hundred yards and fifteen touchdowns on the season. I mean, that's a enormous sees it and by the way, juju Smith Schuster also had a big season. No, it's not like any cheaper. And he's twenty two and he's a hell of a teammate. Yeah. He sees quote after the fumble. I mean, he took great accountability and Bobby Brown, and he was crying. I mean, he was he was destroy straw about. And you like to see young players take that you'd like to see every player take it that seriously. But it's a great foreshadow of what should be great Steeler career for. It means some it does that. But I think what's conflicting. Well, I wanna play this Ben cut for you before we get to the update would act, but what is really tough to decipher with Antonio Brown. Like somebody else that has been maligned grant that in a very different way Carmelo. Anthony. Where I stand on Carmelo all that stuff. Right. Carmelo one of my Knox was are you really in the weight room like look LeBron's body. Look at D Wade's body. Chris Bosh body guys you came into the interleague would right there. Just look at their bodies. Right. And you look at Carmelo little doughy really not defined. Maybe the genetics are different to be fair. But he never looked fully at his physical apex. That's not the case. But Brown like Brown is incredibly diligent. I think to the point where he's a maniacal trainer. Which is a Hebrew love. So so strange because it's not laziness, it's just something else. That is really tough to explain. Yeah. As much as we try selfishness. But the bottom line is he's got to go. Yeah. Steal. You gotta step in ownership. Get lost your I'll trade you for seventy cents on the dollar get out each and every man in the football locker room really in world. But just we're talking sports is responsible for his own. You know, what he hasn't been periods. We'll we'll get the Tomlin a little bit. This is why I absolve Mike Tomlin little because what can he do? We'll get to that. What can he do? I've got answers. I don't know if you're going to accept them. But I've got answers for you. Hey, real quick play the Big Ben cut because he was asked about the origin of their beef. And what happened here's Big Ben people are making a big deal about a Walker on Wednesday that there was a blow off a fight between between he and I I don't know anything about that. If if there was a blow up or something I should affected it. You know, it's a big deal was made about that. And I don't know. Sure. That would that comes from path courses weekly spot sister station, K D, K A 93.7 out there in Pittsburgh. Big Ben being a good teammate. There is about being a good teammate. Yeah. He's he's trying to protect people for sure and more and minimize this explosion. Which of course, in today's landscape is never going to be minimized because that's all talk about now who days later, he didn't show up. I mean minimize it. All you want big. No. Over that one. I hear you. That's like putting up a piece of tape. Like when you sell it a home monster hole in the wall. Put a piece of traits by translucent tape, transparent to translucent, whatever it is. That's what I was looking at pulls the paint to true. But I tell you Ben Timmy's. He's he's half a phony. I'm sorry. Ben is I mean, I'm definitely not an Antonio Brown fan, not even close to being one. But I'm not a real big big Big Ben fan, either respect the way he gets up and takes hits and throw his body out there over the years, but his leadership lease a little bit to be desired acts got the update will come back. We've got inbounds out of bounds. And you will have you. And I will have that Tomlin conversation at at four eastern top of the hour. We'll have the conversation about how the draft changes mister Hoskins you need to go to the NFL which means the giants at number six and the Jaguars at number seven. And maybe the Broncos at number ten need to try to make a trade because the entire trade the draft complexion changes that guy's a top five pick. He could go one of the rights rate happens. We'll get to that as well. Acts update right now. He's rich..

"I don't know. I don't know if that's racist. Or if that's just good advice in my might be both. I don't know. Next question. They just finishing into the excess episode DaMarcus from Illinois, Chicago, and my question for you is did you know that in the movie one of the x Ray technician is actually a real life suspected serial killer ball dates and he played one of the x Ray tax. He he was convicted of murdering some credit Addison Vero, and then the cops also believe that he was responsible for murdering six other men, and you don't ain't and dismembering them and their bodies washed up in plastic bags along the Hudson river the name of the murders that they gave him. I will not say very derogatory message. Here's the other. They were gaming in the seventies. Had you heard of that. And that make him real villain in the movie. I actually yeah. I had heard of that. I read some stuff about exactly that. While I was researching for the podcast. I didn't bring it up though, because it all seemed a little too dark like we have a section at the beginning of every episode could for interesting things, and I was like should I mention the actual murders in that. I didn't I didn't wanna do like I just wanna have some fun and make some jokes with my friends and talk about movies and movie characters that we liked like I'm not trying to get into real world. Sad stuff that every time that I now NSS Twitter who the next episodes featured villain is going to be. I always get a few people who like you would you should do. You should do some life villains. Like, John Wayne Gracie. And I'm like what like no that's not what I should do. I said I should super not do that. I'm trying to talk about Regina, George, and you're trying to talk about actual dead children. That's that's not the same. It's just not the same CARA. We we need to cleanse ear here before we move on.
