"Okay in place of Monday reading while we're quarantined. We're going to bring back our intern. Maybe someday our colleague William Football our son our son. We're going to do some deep dives with billy football on Mondays and place Monday reading so this should be fun. We're GONNA get our learn on. We told billy whatever you want to whatever you want to dive into. We'll dive into his. Well Billy what are we starting with this week or you mentioned the other day if we put everyone into hibernation state for two weeks that we'd be able to stop the spread of Corona in end the pandemic so you referenced an article that also the same take by Donald Gene. Woo Woo I. I just went on the record. He stole my take so he actually wrote that. After I said it I just wanted on the record that he actually stole all of our take from after football season every year. We just want to hibernate until March madness So the the his quote was if it were possible to wave a magic wand and make all Americans freeze in place for fourteen days while sitting six feet apart epidemologists say. The whole epidemic would sputter tools. Anyway so I looked into this our a first things first. There is no known cases of natural human hibernation. They've been working on this for space travel for years because they want to put astronauts hibernation so they can like not use any resources and just like they sleep fall asleep in wake up in another planet like a year interstellar. Yeah Okay what about Terri? Schiavo she What we'll dive into that later. But what about when you blackout? If you just get really really drunk for a long time. How long have you blacked up? I don't know because I was blacked out. So basically a hibernation states you have to slow your metabolism to a fourth of the rate in your heartbeat. Just beats a couple times per minute. So there's a lot of cases of mammals in colder climates hibernating over the winter so hibernation is only in a state of Kohl's that they started hibernating so animals zoos hybrid. Oh so bears in zoos. Don't hibernate wars and Zoos. Don't high rate they have plenty of food in water in warmth. They don't hibernate. Be exhausting though like as a bear. That's gotta be in your natural clock that you get to spend like three months out of the year just napping. Well what billy saying is it's the other way around that it's not the hibernate out of necessity. Not Out of like what they are. Yeah I agree but it's also like I shit out of necessity but sometimes it feels good to go take a big shit. Rice put bears. Why not hibernating? Because they're just eating in warm the whole time okay. You RECYCLE THEIR HOOP IN P. While they hybrid. What do you mean? Recycle DON'T POOP IN. They turn it into more carbon carbohydrates approaching while that highly. So does that mean that. Their stomach just operates more efficient level or do they actually Christian. Your body just wants the shit they it goes the digestive track but then somehow it goes back around the circle snake eating its own tail. That's incredible and pissed too. I just assumed they just pissed their pants all winter. They don't because like the scientists don't caves in find no nothing. Please try your pants. So but the thing is only female bears with cubs hibernate. Bears aren't actually the best hibernate. There's everyone thinks they're the best but there's actually other animals there's other forms of inactivity knock confined to cold weather months. This called Ace station which is done by a lot of reptiles and frogs and some lemurs in Madagascar. So if we were to do it it'd be in the warm weather months Technically aced Weights who's the best hibernate? I think Actually have to go actually not I kind of got sidetracked on bare facts. Because I heard the poop was like let's see these guys that's why we're good bareback. Bare skin is really black. Underneath the white for I knew then. Yup All the well-known could facts. Grizzly bears are fast as a racehorse color regular bearskin. I think it's I'm not sure also black. I think that'd be cool when it can't if instead of horse races you had bear raises put so my question for you. Billy is it would be very cool. How long can they can? They run as fast as a resource on. Imagine they can run as fast as a racehorse for a hundred meters though they can reach speeds up to forty two miles per hour in strint spears level. So long can they. Can they go for Tyler? Show guy looked at. They're probably sprinters Yeah well here's another fact. Black fight back round. Lay Down White. Say Good night so look say it again. That's fantastic back. Brown lay down white good night so so bear your fuck. You're absolutely fat of Blackfriars Bitch. You black where you actually want to fight back will make a lot of noise. Get Big and be like. Let's go buddy black bears whenever you see like a direct chapin videos. That says dogs Brian. It's like a little Pekinese that chases way a barren somebody's backyard. It's always a black bear and Brown. You're so grisly berry just GonNa lay down and pretend you're dead within polar bears. They're also scavengers so they'll eat dead things too so you're screwed got it that makes sense so yeah so that's actually really good so if you see us probably just WANNA run honesty. Just I have no idea where house there are South could you? Could you get dressed in all white and blended with the snow on the scene caller? I'm not too sure maybe. Just dig in the snow. Okay Borough Hibernate. Dig Right in the snow. Okay we'll get a bottle of Coca Cola and then they'll smile and wink at you. Another attack polar bears have never met Penguin in the wild. Oh different is a different Where Hake go ahead happen? Hank happen whenever you want. No yes I see you see you. North Hake Albert get in. There was no four himself. Which was which hangings aren't south correct? Yeah they love the Sun so that kind of ruins like a lot of I feel like children's books and and cartoons like polar bears and penguins just kicking it together. Yeah I remember. There was a far side cartoon. Did you ever read that one Where there is a polar bear on an iceberg wearing a beak like with a string around it and he was eating all the penguins one by one and I remember like two people wrote letters to the cartoonist was. Actually this can't happen. And then he puerto fell was one of them. It was absolutely dermer. Vote Yeah Yeah So. Male bears are called bores while females or called sows which is like pig terminology. So I thought that was interesting. That is interesting. This is another. This is kind of been circling the Internet. But one hundred seventy five pound black bear once eight. Eight pounds of cocaine died. We two hundred and seventy five pound black bear. That's a small better. Yeah eight eight hotter crazy. I didn't know they made the craziest part of that story. Is One hundred seven five pound bear not the eight hundred pounds of cocaine and my mom was like. He had like a hundred grams of cocaine. Eightieth Graham that killed him or screw question to eat eight pounds so there is turns out there was like a lot more like. There's some drug runners dropping stuff into the woods and then the The Da Lewitt's trying to find a drop drugs in a dead bear with eight hundred pounds of Kolkata's so what we know is that a bear can handle one hundred. Seventy five pound bear can handle at least eighty seven point five pounds of cocaine. Yeah Black Bears. Party will when if a bears Moose. What about the one wrestling? Great get the flake going Would about I fucking love cocaine. We're kind of bears that rally this bear. Well hanker you learned underwear aches nude. We just saw his balls just put his balls on.

"I show one ninety three W. white BC about traveling with firearms and Clinton Williams football players New York interested it's it's again unclear whether he was complying with TSA regulations or not but it points out the problem with states not recognizing other states license and why not because for instance we had this brook field case over work fell versus Hodges the Supreme Court case and the subject of the case was same sex marriage and I don't care how you feel about same sex marriage is not relevant to this discussion what is relevant to this discussion is the court looked at it and under the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment they said hold on if there is a right to marry and they had to conjure up a right to marry in the constitution there's nothing in the constitution remotely about that but there's nothing in the constitution about a lot of things that spring court somehow commander fracture a constitutionally protected right over whether that's abortion or same sex marriage or any number of other issues but they did that with respect to marriage saying that the constitution requires states to allow folks to merry including folks of the same gender and then in the same decision said and necessarily because it would create an undue hardship under the under the protections of the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment every state not only has to allow these marriages but has to recognize the marriage certificates issued in every other state and the language the core U. S. to go through and said well if these are allowed now in every state and by the way every state issues a license to carry hand and now D. C. N. Illinois had to be sued but eventually federal court ordered them to issue licenses to their own citizens so now all fifty states and the district of Columbia issue licenses to carry them back to the marriage cases well if every state now must allow these marriages inferno follow the protection clause of the constitution therefore every state has to recognize every other state's it's okay how does not apply to a license to Kerry and the logic they went through about an undue hardship they're saying gosh you're totally legal within the state you just cross the state line why would we not want to recognize your marriage license why not put me in prison because I cross the state line with my legally licensed gun in the state in which I live one hundred not applying exactly the same one I think it absolutely does and I would love to litigate that issue I would love to be a lawyer the takes that case up to the Supreme Court and use that marriage case again don't send me tweets and Facebook posts talking about same sex marriage are not on my radar screen I don't care I do care about second amendment rights in the logic of that decision applies perfectly to a license to Kerry and I like the idea of litigating that issue and having that declared unconstitutional that is states that don't recognize every other license from every other state I live actually like that outcome a little better even the national reciprocity what's national reciprocity or national reciprocity is a bill actually passed the house three years ago when Republicans controlled the house of representatives there was a national reciprocity bill that would have required every state to recognize the license to carry or concealed carry permit whatever the nomenclature is a particular state it would have required every state to recognize every other state's license to care now that would be nice and I'm still angry at Mitch McConnell for not having called that bill for a vote in the Senate after it passed the house in two thousand sixteen why he didn't because Republicans in the Senate tend to be got lost in my personal opinion and tend to be afraid of accomplishing anything it's easier to keep your seat if you just simply don't do anything because nobody's going to criticize you because you didn't accomplish anything that may be a bit harsh but if you love a lot of the people in Washington DC and I think that's what happened there but why do I like the idea of having a state's refusal to recognize every other state's license declared unconstitutional under the Fourteenth Amendment away like that better than national reciprocity I'm also a bit of a states rights guy and I'm trying not to be a complete hypocrite on this issue because by the way the constitutional jurisdiction for passing that passing national reciprocity would be the same B. S. the Congress uses to regulate almost every damn thing under the sun everything on the planet which is the commerce clause will have some indirect effect on commerce therefore were authorized to do this under the Commerce Clause I have criticized both Congress and the Supreme Court for allowing that to happen the founders should be one holding interest actually spinning inner right now with the federal government regulating every damn thing under the sun under the auspices of the commerce clause in the spring court allowed him to do it I think it's a travesty this the the the the founders never intended the federal government to regulate it all the areas it regulates do you know that there is no federal police power in the constitution not done exist not there there are more federal law enforcement officers run around the country right now with badges and guns and uniforms then there are United States marines the vitamins what are you talking to FBI or ATF or border patrol the border patrol that's in the constitution is the federal government's job to protect the borders that's squarely in the constitution but there's no generally stated federal police power you have to get around all that primarily the Commerce Clause as well as being able to regulate in those areas necessary to accomplish the goals enumerated in other parts of the constitution the so called necessary and proper clause but we've allowed this to happen in a way that the founders never intended a million years so if I'm critical of Congress for regulating every damn thing under this ridiculous justification of the Commerce Clause and I absolutely have a good consistent and that are not hypocrite if I turn around and say yeah but I'm with the federal government to force every state to recognize every other state's license and the constitutional jurisdiction for that is the Commerce Clause yes that makes me a hypocrite yes it does I can rationalize it to some degree because I can say hold on I think it's unconstitutional for states not to recognize every other state's license and so here all we're doing essentially having the federal government tell every state to do it ought to be doing anyway as the drafters of the Fourteenth Amendment intended man that's clearly rationalization it's a rationalization because we're doing an end run around the actual constitutional argument a constitutional argument ought to be made in court in spring core United States ought to order every state to recognize every other state's license just like they did in the overt felt case regarding marriage licenses that's where I'd prefer that to be resolved as much as I would like to be able to carry a handgun in every state I have to admit a bit of hypocrisy if I'm pushing the federal government to regulate in an area that is guns but I think it should have but it out of decades ago but with that were the three quarter hour we're taking a break we got a couple people on hold will go to the phone lines and I'm really excited at the top of the hour we're gonna have state senator Victoria Spartz right here in the studio she is running in a crowded race for Susan Brooks C. the fifth congressional district and she after having been a very effective state senator now wants to go to Congress go to DC join the swap so we'll talk to her about what her plans are what her views on the second amendment I know what her views on the second of March and then in order to a large degree because she I've talked about and she's been a strong supporter of the second amendment in the Indiana Senate worked gonna talk to her about the race about what she wants to come accomplishment she goes to Congress if she's elected but there are think fourteen other people that have the same plants so we'll talk to her about that as well but right now we're taking a break this is Carol from the gun guy show one ninety three of you I guess.

"Tennessee land by twenty five with just a reform in this to go in the first half. It was forty four to nineteen Iwa came storming all the way back the tie it and tied it on two or three occasions down the stretch regulation, forcing overtime, but here in the overtime. Tennessee scored the first seven points of the extra session, the balls lead. It seventy eight seventy one to twenty six to go in overtime, Todd McCaffrey back on the corporate inbounds, the join Bohannon and a foul against Tennessee. That's on Alexander using the lower body little Powell it'll be free throws coming for Luca Garza. Kyle alexander. Picking up the personal foul. That's his fourth. Garza almo- ally Luca Garza today's three out of four the Hawkeyes or twenty two out of twenty eight come alive the first one. Good. Garza has that style where he just gets the ball from the official looks at the basket and shoots. No dribbles. I was six of eleven from the foul line in the first half Bill in the second half her seventeen for seventeen. But what did we know about this team, which we haven't talked about they get a twenty five percent of their points from the free throw line? Second one good Arza with fourteen Iowa's first points of overtime. Hawkeyes are still down five twenty three to go seventy eight seventy three. Little front dribble of Jordan bone. Slow dribble for bone angles for the right side uses the basketball to l'amante Turner Turner to Kyle Alexander's bound around the horn back to Jordan bone within the shoe in the left corner to grant Williams Williams football the four spitting against books players up. It's the baseline jumper from a while. William starting to take command here in overtime. He has seventeen in Tennessee backup. Seventy the Dallas good defense by cook. With better offense, by Williams Bohannon driving baseline around Williams store. Bohannon with a bucket again. I will within five Tennessee taking its time as the clock lose one thirty five to go pressure backward. Balls able to break into the front port. Jordan picks it up out Williams. Back behind Jordan bowl over the head. Coach Rick Barnes, wedding, some raw Gallo minute. Twenty to go in overtime fifteen on the shot clock through Tennessee bone on the right wing it up top now to grant Williams left hand dribble for Williams the spot of three hundred eighteen footer. Rebound Jordan Bohannon. Pariagua talk is down through possessions bear since it in the cook. Posting. His hands. What a play by grant waves knocked the ball out of my hands of cooked. I've cooked takes straight up. There's nothing Williams can do. But he brings it down in front of Williams. Williams reaches out pokes it away Tennessee able to regain possession. They hold the ball. Forty three seconds to go in overtime ten on the shot clock. Balls up. My pod Turner started back right down the pay knocked out of his hands bear recovers drywall archives. Gotta hurry down a half a minute ago trailing by five upside with it Bohannon off the guards a backup Bohannon lot of time taken off Donald twenty-five to go bounce pass on the corner. Here's cook drive makes put off turns around missed it off the glass rebound underneath and a foul called underneath on Tennessee. So the foul. We'll send cook to the line fouls on grant Williams. And made the huge defensive play by swatting the ball hands. Title cook cook on the line to shoot two three out of four on the line for one short. If he misses Tennessee get the three down number two if he makes it can you not turn the ball over and maintain possession. The number three. If you do the first to Iowa has to foul can you make your free throws. Second free throw coming Tyler cook. I miss since halftime that one is no bits Afridi Tennessee at a player in the lane. So a second try to a second free throw. It was known who stepped into the lane. Bone started leaning because he's trying to help grant Williams with Garza's alone. And he had a foot in now and the NBA you can pull your foot back out. As long as you pull your foot back out of the lane regain your position in the NBA before he lets the ball go then. That's okay. I think grant wave with is put into it. Drought. Bullet backout bone was bowling who's put out what it'll be a second opportunity on the second free for the right now the the bench for Iowa is telling its players to foul. So if he misses they're looking to look the foul mmediately they throw the ball in and don't get a deflection or steel. They'll look the foul immediately. The second. Try also no good on the second free throw in Iowa mmediately foul. Twenty seconds to go title cook on the free will live had been three or four. But he missed those two crucial. Mrs with twenty seconds remaining in the ballgame. Bayer picks up the foul his third two free throws now Kyle Alexander who was three for three for the foul line today. Sixty four percent. Tennessee sixteen out of nineteen teams done a really fine job to the line, especially since halftime Alexander's personal rattles out. How many time for both teams? Have we seen balls just rattle? It looks like they're going to drop in and then Bob popout. Hey you played the game. Or is that the old hard rim. Soft rim thing. Well, it's happened for both teams. So it's not like right one rim on one side seems to be softer than the other or harder than the other. Second Alexander that one is good. Stool to possession game. But I doubt six eighteen seconds to go McCaffrey driving all bone Miwa in need of three owners. But it'll be Bohannon drives Annalena scores it still two possession game. However in just eleven seconds to go in the game as Fran mccaffery uses one of his two remaining timeouts. Now, it's eighty one seventy seven with eleven point two to go. Same thing still exist for Tennessee. You talk about a four point game two possessions. You have to focus on two things one who's ever taking the ball out of bounds. You have to be counting in your head thousand one thousand two it has it's going to a thousand four you still have the ball on your hand. Call timeout Tennessee has two timeouts. Now. You get the ball inbounds. Where's the last place? You want to put it in the coffin corner were they can double. And then if you do get into bound you have to protect the basketball and forced him to value and its shots because both teams are the double bonus, and you have to make it.

Remember, the titans big big hit for men in particular, any any guy Glover played high school football probably seen that movie with Denzel Washington about the the real life story, the TC Williams high school football team in Alexandria, Virginia. In the nineteen seventies. When they desegregated the schools and put the black kids in the white kids together and replace the white coat with the black coach and made the white coach and assistant coach and ended up winning the state championship and proving to be an example on racial harmony, while the real life, captain of the TC Williams football team that is based on Julius Campbell died at the age of sixty five just another reminder that we're all getting a little bit older and speaking of dying you see the James Ingram. Died at the age of sixty six no word on what did him in. He did some gray duets love him and Linda Ronstadt together. I mean, they were really really good somewhere out there. Great song YoM OB there. Baby. Come to me all big hits for James Ingram, gone way. Too. Young. At sixty six brain cancer is with John Lewis. Yeah. When you don't when there's no cause given that usually something maybe that they've been dealing with for a long long time. Finally, just kind of wants to keep it private. Meantime, the Israelis announcing through the Jerusalem Post yesterday that they may have a cure for cancer all cancers, they're developing, and they think it might be the thing. Wow. Yeah. "Here on CBS sports radio. Let's set out to Kansas City right now and James Palmer's NFL network reporter he's been with the chiefs all week, and he's kind enough to give us a few minutes. James? Thanks for joining us in just give me a little bit of a feel out there in Kansas City, and what it's been like to be around this team. And also the community as they finally get to host AFC title game at Arrowhead. Yeah. It's been pretty cool. They you know, this is old hat for the patriots. And and for the chiefs, you can tell the town is ready for this. I mean, you see from scaffolding on buildings that are getting worked on just chiefs flag flying, you know, the statues everywhere around my hotel, every statue has a different chiefs players jersey on it. Whether it's Eric berry here, Chris Jones or deport or Patrick Mahomes. You know, you can tell the vibe of the city of twenty people thought, maybe the cold might play a part in how loud, these fans are Arrowhead. I've got a million games here. It is a great environment. I did the divisional round where the conditions were less than ideal with the snow and how heavy that's no was it. Didn't quite those fans at all. I didn't see an empty. See? I think it's going to be a really good time. A really really really awesome atmosphere. I don't think the weather's gonna slow these people down at all James. Let's get to some of the breakdown of the game. When we take a look at this Kansas City defense. They're different on the road compared to being at home. Fortunately for Kansas City. They're at home this week, but they have a very tough task going up against these three patriot running backs. And then also Tom Brady how did they try to slow down this run game? And also get some pressure on number twelve. Yeah. That was the interesting thing with Frank Reich last week. And now, you know, we're sitting up in the press box going to running the Baltimore, you know, we thought the colts will come out, and you saw the way they ran the ball again Texans. And he thought they were gonna come to run the ball. But it kind of really didn't we've seen a different chiefs defense these last couple of weeks, and obviously it's going to be different with Eric berry plant. I mean, that's a free time. All. Wpro if he's himself, I think he neutralizes gronkowski who remembers a little banged up. So I think if Eric berry moves the way he usually can when he felt the that that's huge for the chiefs. Getting Tom Brady is really the factor. You know, all those guys up front this week asked about, you know, this offense of line, and none of them really talking about the old line of of the patriots. They're saying it's because the Brady gets rid of the football so quick and a direct result of that talking to deport who off the edge is one of the fastest pass rushers by by time in the NFL. I told him, you know, you've got the fastest sack in the postseason this year last week at two point five four seconds. And he goes through with radio, I'm going to have to be below two seconds. They know how quickly they have to get to him to affect them. But at the same time, I do think Chris Jones in the middle is going to be the guy that's gonna be the one that impacts of because we know Brady loves to step up. We know that Chris Jones can move that after fifteen and a half sacks from that spot. It's nuts and the other aspect of it is. Justin Houston didn't play in that week six game. Now, Justin Houston deported, Chris Jones upfront and remember both times they fact Brady they knocked the ball loose. So they're pretty good at creating turnovers and offense when they get to the quarterback as well. They need one of those big plays told me one game changing pipeline from one of those guys. Like, you saw them the colts and with those quick passes, especially in a big spot. One of the first players that come to mind out of this patriots team is James Wyden. He's been so reliable for them in so many of these postseason runs. Just how did they try to slow him down coming up later today? Yeah. That's the difficult part for this defense because you don't know if you have the linebackers that can save you can play with him coming out of the backfield. And he has been a focal point for that in practice this week because they know obviously, the idea would be Brady's gonna beat you middle of the field. Right. And how can you muddle the middle of the field because I don't think the chiefs believe that one of those guys on the outside are going to go out and beat them if they do more. Power to the chiefs. I mean, more power to the patriots for having a guy like Chris HOGAN, be the one to beat you. So I think you're going to see them try to crowd the middle of the field to kind of help out in that sense. I know you touched on rob gronkowski. And then also the importance of Eric berry. But how did the chiefs view rob gronkowski going into this match up? And then with their tight end and Travis Kelsey, I know it's tough to try to stop them. But the patriots has done a nice job over the years. So how did they tried to get him going? Yeah. You know? I I do think the focus is going to be on gronkowski. And James white. I think that's where the chiefs defensive focus is going to be an yeah. Eric berry has had a lot of success against crop in the past. If you remember that game where he tore his achilles. I think what we won last year. And he had a really good game against Ron before. He suffered the injury on the other side with Kelsey. They have had some success successes healthy. I think what the chiefs are gonna find out is Bella checks. So good at taking away. What you do best? All right. So what is he going to end up doing? I might find that out early. They're gonna be tired. Kill where they're gonna put their number two corner on hill with safety health and have more on Sammy Watkins, or are they gonna have Gilmore go around with tyreek hill, they've prep till the be prepared for the extra attention all week. And maybe that could free some things up for Travis Kelsey. But what I think happens is now that you have a healthy Sammy Watkins after Mahomes three viable option seeking Goto that are all top tier players and Andy Reid it said it this week. I don't know why anybody would want to go and line up one on one against Sammy Watkins in that might be the case that he's in. If there's attention to Kelsey entire till like the chiefs are planning for and then you might see Patrick Mahomes. Sammy's way quite a bit. But I think what he's gonna do. And this is why Mahomes is so good. He's really not going to focus on anybody. He's going to sit and find the open man and kind of approach this game with everybody finally healthy like a little bit of a point guard. And if you look at the two matches between the pats and the chiefs over the last two years really Kareem hunt is killed the patriots. And then also tyreek hill know Kareem. And this one as we obviously know how does that factor into this game because of how big he's been for that team in the past. It's been unbelievable. I mean, two career games. He's got over two hundred and fifteen scrimmage yards, averaging four total touchdowns. I mean, he has been a difference maker. But one of the things I've heard around this building has always been looking at how they've always lost back. Dating back. Jamaal Charles, and they always find a way to continue to run the football successfully. And I think that, but you know, when I talked to people that falls on the offensive line. I think this is a group that doesn't get nearly enough credit for the way they play an A Andy screen game. There's a big reason why it's effective and be because there's been a variety of back that come in. And they all become successful. You look at what they've done with Damian Williams since he's arrived here. It's been I mean, he's got three out of the last four games. He's got over one hundred and twenty scrimmage yards zero type of the game in its first fifty five career games. So I think obviously losing Kareem hunt is a big deal the way. He is a dynamic player for this Ave. Catching the football. The parts are gonna miss out of him, Damian Williams. Footballs. Well as Kareem hunted in specifically in those games against the patriots. But we have seen them lose backs. And always find a way to continue to have an affective rushing game. I talked to guys they don't obviously focus on the run because of what Mahomes does but they have in effective running game since they lost their averaging more yards for Kerry and more yards per game. Talking to James Palmer right now on CBS sports radio from the NFL network. We know it Kansas City so much of the talk. This year has been about the emergence of Patrick Mahomes with his fifty touchdowns. And then is this finally the year that Andy Reid can get a ring with the domination of Mahomes in that Andy Reid story line. How they've been this week being able to be around them covering them. Yeah. Well, you know, Andy was the same south. You know, this Accu coming out he's going injuries right off the top of each one of those press conferences and just trying to keep things as normal as possible for everyone. And I think with Mahomes, that's what has surprised the most. Right. I was here a bunch last year when he's the backup behind Alex Smith and Alison. Is playing great. If he's not gonna the field and he's playing basketball in the locker room with steam mates. And he's having a good time. And he's everybody's best friend password of this year. MVP the league pretty much in fifty touchdown passes. Like, you said if it's the same exact guy and everybody keeps saying that no stages too big. He these games keep going you keep wondering if that is going to be the case or one of these times Radi in the AFC championship game is going to be too big for me. And I I kind of side with I don't think anything is. And I think it's the way he was raised in a major league clubhouse. But this is just going to the stadium is any any normal day for him. And you know, I think what he's been able to do during the week Chander west the right back told me this this week, which is kind of interesting. He goes, it's been a pleasure to watch Andy. And Pat foot up game plan together throughout the week and just getting a chance to watch that because of the relationship the to have developed. He said, I'm really happy a kid like, my home has an offensive mind. Like Andy Reid this early in his career, but everybody's gonna go back to. Andy's past and I think a lot of players in that locker room. If you ask him to be honest. They want to win this win this game and win the Super Bowl for for Kansas City, and then mainly for Andy Reid. And James, I know we sometimes get caught up in Brady and ballot. Check in their road record in the postseason. Andy Reid and his record in the NFC championship games. Now going to be an AFC championship game. But let's be realistic. You can have all those numbers and everything, but you really throw them out the window. When this ball gets kicked off coming up later today at six forty. I don't think it does. I really don't the one thing that we always talk about do thin. And this doesn't involve the patriots. I do think Arabic gives them a slight advantage. I think because of that helping their pass rush in a manner that right? He's going to have to go down the line all offensive lineman by offensive lineman change plays at the line of scrimmage tackles or not gonna here. I mean, this place is incredible tackled aren't gonna hear him when he's trying to make a call underneath David Andrew. So he's going to have to make some movement. And that's gonna take some time. I do think that part plays a factor. But again, I think you're right. Yeah. You throw out all of that stuff. When when the game starts, and it's gonna be you know, it's gotta be ten the patriots score enough. And I really think that's going to be the story today. James Palmer from the NFL network joins us right now. Let's shift gears to the NFC title game that one between the Rams and the saints. Saints banged up going into this one. They won't have rankings because of the achilles injury last week..

"How many new football leagues? Do we need? I just saw like an announcement by Ricky Williams the other day that Ricky Williams. Is helping to start a new football league. I can't keep track of all the secondary football leagues. That are starting. Anthony, do you know anything about this, Ricky Williams? Football league that starting. No. I'm just concerned about the XFL Vince McMahon. Oh, gosh. We got another one. I forgot about that. Yeah. The lines of American football. Yes. The XFL. They made the announcement. They announced the eight cities participating in. Okay week the, and then there's going to be XFL, and that's different right? The exit. So they were they announced their cities. It's okay. So they announced. Yes. What are the cities for the XFL? When you get a list of me later, if you don't have it in front of you. I know our man Aaron Murray is going to be the quarterback of the Atlanta legends. Which I know sounds like a strip club. But it is going to be a I'm sure errands getting back in there under center, and I'm hoping he's going to be in good enough shape. Once it's done with a good offensive line in front of that. He's going to be able to come on the show and talk house football with us. Besides New York. John Wichai knew XFL. They will also be Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles. Saint Louis Seattle Tampa Bay in Washington DC. Okay. Now, the Ricky Williams lake that's launching you gotta figure the teams are going to be playing on grass, right? Wouldn't you think you're doing at the end of the year? They'll probably have a couple of bowls. To know side, Terrell Owens is also part of the start up that league cheese. What is this league called? I was almost bankrupt. I wanna start up my own leg. Jio and and Ricky Williams in a room with I guess, the Dalai Lama. Discussing sitting there doing yoga and hyperbaric chambers. You know what we can come up with our own league? My gosh. I think we need to launch our own. If if our boss, if the if the great Mark chernoff listening, we need to launch the CBS sports radio footballer. What is that the launch? We gotta get on this thing. SPN's gonna jump at this. You know, the Sirius XM is going to launch a leg if we're not careful. We need to we need to get on this thing right now launch our own football league. Everywhere we have a CBS affiliate. We find x football players to be on the teams. Tell I think it could work. I think it could work and guess what? I won't you don't even have to toss me anymore money. Ricky Williams is leading a football league. I can't wait to see that one. I can't wait. I like our chances. We already have boomer and Tiki seriously. And and if he asked here, and he he's an athlete. He'll tell you. He played some ball. We'll talk a lot of big guys here. So we would have a very good offensive line marash. We got we got peach war-torn and the update acres. Gresham the weekend rash on the weekends. We got should I go. But seriously. Gresh, ANZAC yelled the pulling guards Darwin at linebacker. Thank you very much. Because I remember last time when I was coming up for because we do it like every three years take the girls up to Manhattan for the week, which I absolutely adore love New York City and the month of February Anthony's like it's beautiful. It's been like fifty five degrees. Fifty eight sixty. And then we got up there. And it was frigid. I made it was downright bone cold frigid. I don't want that anymore. All right. I wanna get to Mike in Modesto before. I get onto my talking points here. Mike, you're on the jonky Kate show. How are you? Mike great show. John. Let me say this no doubt to was the best player in college football. But the voters absolutely got it. Right. And that's what we sent a wide margin Nick Sabin cost this young man the Heisman. I tip my cap t because I come in with my show notes, and I'll write down like four or five points to sort of back up. What I wanna talk about. And that's an angle that backs up the point that I have. And I never even I never even looked at it that way. And I appreciate you. I like it when intelligent people listen to the show and actually come with good points or better than I do. So congratulations. Thank you, Mike. I greatly. Appreciate that. I never looked at it that way. That Sabin cost him the Heisman. But I will tell you this. The big dogs going to eat. An Alabama is going to be loaded for bear. And they are going to try to do everything they can to run up the score create some sort of a adjust lopsided number. It's going to be ugly. Sorry about that. And yes, we will check back in and I will be on the air the day after they play I'll be on the air two days and three days after they play because I'll be working the thirtieth thirty first and I hear on the network. So I'll be here. But I'm gonna tell you right now. Alabama's showing up in a bad mood. And the last thing you do is throw the rabid dog red meat. And if you had any doubt that the best coach arguably in college football history is going to have his team laser focused. We just got tossed out the window. If you had any doubt toss it out the window. Because Nick Sabin. Just got all the motivation all the bulletin board material that he needs. There is something going on right now in the NFL that hasn't gone on in almost two decades. Anthony. Do you know what it is that hasn't gone on in almost two decades that is happening this year in the NFL right now. It's a very vague question. So I'm keeping it very wide open. You have do you have any guess where I'm going with us? How about through twelve weeks? Where everybody's played twelve games. And now Jacksonville's played a thirteenth. We've got the worst four records of last year's final four that we've witnessed in the last couple of decades. Last year's final four. The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. They could say that for a little while longer six and six. The NFC runner-up Minnesota Vikings six five and one. The New England Patriots. Shocker nine three. Oh, wait. The patriots are good again. That's a shock. And the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now four and nine. Twenty five twenty three and one. Last year's final four. This is what a man named Pete Rozelle. And if you're young, and you don't know who Pete Rozelle is we're talking about one of the greatest names and one of the greatest architects of the NFL. This was always his desire. He wanted to see everybody in the NFL around eight. He wanted to see the NFL always being a league of great parody. And boy his vision has come to fruition. It's parody complete parody last year's final four twenty five twenty three and one. Already have Steve on social media getting on me a bit saying that I'm underestimating the Rams he says if you think the saints offense can travel why don't you think the Rams both teams can run the football. Both teams have a dynamic offense. Both teams have great quarterback play. Here's what I would suggest Steve. The Rams have had great quarterback play this year. Drew Brees is having his out and out of your mind greatest year arguably than an NFL quarterback is ever had year. And if you tell me head to head I have one quarterback big game. I think thirty two general managers are taking drew Brees. No disrespect to Jared Goff. Who's done a great job? I don't think that's disrespect to him. Also, here's the difference. If the Rams offense has to travel it travels into one of the most difficult home field advantages in the NFL. If the saints offense has to travel they travel into one of the most lukewarm home field advantages in the National Football League. Need a case in point next Sunday night. The Rams play the eagles. If the eagles lose tonight. I mean seriously then that could end up being a really bad choice for the Sunday night game. But the Rams offense with the eagles going in there reportedly now the eagles eagles and through secondary media. I mean through secondary ticket brokers. And from travel agencies in the area, they're bringing out like twenty two thousand people. What stadium has it like, and that's the people who have gone through organizations that are able to be tracked like twenty two thousand fans invading arena. How many how many how many stadiums? Could you do that too in the NFL? Where you could get that many seats in. I think the saints having to go to LA is far less scary. As a home field advantage. Then the Rams having to go to the Superdome, which honestly could be a hell hole for opposing teams absolute murder. How many new football leagues? Yes. The alliance of American football. Yes. The XFL they made the announcement. They announced the eight cities participating in the week. And then there's going to be XFL, and that's different right? The exit. So they were they announced their cities. It's okay. So they announced this what are the cities for the XFL. When you get a list of me later, if you don't have it in front of you. I know our man Aaron Murray is going to be the quarterback of the Atlanta legends, which I know sounds like a strip club. But it is going to be a I'm sure errands getting back in there under center, and I'm hoping he's going to be in good enough shape. Once it's done with a good offensive line in front of that. He's still going to be able to come on the show and talk college football with us. Besides New York John wish I knew. XFL? They will also be Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles. Saint Louis Seattle Tampa Bay in Washington DC. Okay. Now, the Ricky Williams lake that's launching. You gotta figure the teams are going to be playing on grass, right? Would you wouldn't you think you're doing at the end of the year? They'll probably have a couple of bowls. To know side. Thrones is also part of the startup that league. Oh, jeez. What is this league called? I was almost bankrupt. I want to start up my own leg. Jio and and Ricky Williams in a room with I guess, the Dalai Lama. Discussing you know, sitting there doing yoga and hyperbaric chambers. You know what we can come up with our own league? My gosh. I think we need to launch our own. If if our boss, if the if the great Mark chernoff listening, we need the launch the CBS sports radio football league, we launch it. We got to get on this thing. ESPN's gonna jump at this. Sirius XM is gonna launch league. If we're not careful. We need to we need to get on this thing right now launch our own football league. Everywhere we have a CBS affiliate. We find x football players to be on the teams. I think it could work. I think it could work and guess what? I won't you don't even have to toss me anymore money. Ricky Williams is leading a football league. I can't wait to see that one. I can't wait. I like our chances. We already have boomer and Tiki seriously. And and if you ask tyranny, he's an athlete. He'll tell you. He played some ball. We'll talk a lot of big guys here. So we would have a very good offensive line marash. We got we got peach war-torn the update acres. Gresham the weekend rash on the weekends. We guide that'd be God. Should I go seriously? We have gresh ANZAC yelled at pulling guards Darwin at linebacker. Oh my gosh. This thing works. This thing works. I'm telling you gotta think about it. Come on, boss. Get audit coming up. I'm so tired of these lazy boring talking points from this program. I can't stand it. It's the jonky show CBS sports radio. This is the John cage. Oh, my number two. Does not look like a number two. I don't know what to call it. Is there? A number three..

"Bobby carpenter, Tim Montemayor and myself. Rachel Lindsay all here on football frenzy. And now Sunday night football the game. We've been talking about is underway. The patriots have an early lead seven to three with five minutes left in the first quarter. But we've been previewing Baker Mayfield. And what he had to say about his new head coach and the Cleveland Browns and the Browns lost today to the Kansas City Chiefs thirty seven to twenty one, but the big news this week has been the coaching changes specifically new head coach Gregg Williams after the game. Greg Williams discussed his approach as the new head coach for the Cleveland Browns, try to be business like it all the time. Times that you know, whatever my role is with the team where rhyme position with the team throughout all these years. The big thing was to be aggressive and up to play aggressively. And our guys responded in that way, we got to play better and some situations but replayed aggressive. I don't like this can can I I'm just gonna come out of the bus get right to its needs to stop talking about anything, but football stop talking about your team, and you and your style, and you're like the press conference after he got the job was a farce and the only place that works is in Jimmy has lem world where we're the Browns are just a joke, and the fact that Hugh Jackson goes on this rant and talks about how it's not my fault in rates. It's your fault and Bobby. It's your fault in its Ryan Clark's fault my fault, but not Hugh Jackson's fault. Where else does this work only in Cleveland, and I love Greg Williams. Football coach. I love his attitude. I love his moxie. I don't like him as a guy who has to open his mouth and talk in front of a microphone because it's deadly. It's entertaining. It has hurt us. It's entertaining player. The one thing I do know this, and you're Ryan who was just this last segment. Clark talked about him briefly a number of guys who played with Greg points throughout the career all the guys that play for them, really like him. Whereby they swear by him. I mean, it say they'd kill for them. And maybe even take some cash to do it. Whatever it takes. So. Yes. When is it ended well for Greg Williams? Well, it's because his personality doesn't lend itself to longevity. That's the problem. He is he is hot he runs. He turns the gas all the web in eventually, man. You start burning yourself too many times where it's not fun anymore. Factor. And that's I think that's part of it. Because you can only talk about this. And do all these things I think Greg's a pretty good defensive coordinator takes things. Really good. Actually, I think it takes a special head coach to manage that personality. I would like to see if the Browns could retain them. I don't wanna ever push something like that on a incoming coach where hey, this is your guy keep them. But if they could I think they've done so many good things. I just. They made that whole decision to get rid of Haley and Greg Williams or Haley and Hugh Jackson, then promote Greg Williams. I don't know. If going with Greg Williams was the right answer Todd Helius, he's fairly abrasive as well. Another another guy. Greg williams. We we actually talked about it. You are here. Ten last week. We'll we talked about it. When we when we heard the rumors that they were going to get rid of their head coach and their offense coordinator, we said, no way, not both of them one or the other. This is never going to happen. I we talked about the players a pain of Greg Williams. Let's hear what Baker Mayfield had to say about the new coaching changes or the same offense. But I think we just try to do what we're best at. Yeah. We offensively. I think there was a lot more good in this game with had in the past. I think there's a lot to build on. But there's obviously so much more room for improvement. And you know, when you're playing a team like that. You gotta stay in the game. You gotta give yourself chances. You gotta you gotta do the little things. Right. You got to chip away. Take time off the clock just because of offense they have. So there was a lot of good on offense. But we've got to keep getting better. Baker mayfield. Listen, I think the firing of Hugh Jackson offensive guy and Todd Haley offensive guy. I'm not sold that the two got fired because they hated each other. Or there was arguments or I think Baker Mayfield is probably not performing at the level that they had hoped that he would perform at and I think he's done pretty well for a rookie. But they could be better like to me Nick Chubb is a problem now because look how well he's performing where where is he did, you know, if you if you look at the the the offense that they brought in whether it's Antonio Calloway or Jarvis Landry. I love and Giokoo there. They were not able to use those guys juice Landry is a hell of a receiver. He's he it feels to me like he's kind of wasted in that system. And I just think that's why they made the change. They didn't see development in the offense or Baker. This is football frenzy on. ESPN radio and ESPN app. Did you hear what Hugh Jackson had to say about not using the same offense? That are putting Baker Mayfield in the same offense that he played in an Oklahoma. And that was maybe why he hasn't been asked successful as they would hope. I mean, you can't just play college offense, you can make corporate corporate college elements, and you've seen a lot of guys do that Bill Belichick being one McVeigh Andy Reid like these guys they figured out percents was the famous guys you can only get the players at the college game sends you it's not like you have another option. Hey, get these guys weren't pro style stuff. Everybody's running the spreading college. Just try to incorporate some of their some of their elements of what these guys are good at the problem is is you can't use it all not one hundred percent of his transferable sued sound like you can just drop Baker into that system. However, I think there are elements that you can throw in there and for rookie quarterback. Maybe Tim that they think that there's a higher ceiling in there might be. Yeah. But I would have to say based upon the quarterbacks drafted in Cleveland over the years. He's far and away. Seeded expectations of what the relative to those guys. And I would say that the number one overall pick. I've watched him and said, hey, yeah, he's made some mistakes. But also seen a lot of this guy. That makes me think that he could be a ten year start or go to some pro bowls and be a guy that you build your franchise around. I think that's a huge positive for this team. They just have to find a way to transcribe translate that into some wins. And if you look around the league at these young quarterbacks Sam darnold again today. I just I'm not interested in him. As my starting quarterback. He throws to many interceptions. In doesn't have an idea of what the defense is trying to do look at Mitchell Trubisky. This is you know. Mitch. Last you, my friend, you are he so inconsistent. And he's so good and the bears have this awesome day today. They put up all these points. And I guarantee you in Chicago. They're all Mitchell Trubisky another great week. He really didn't have much to do with this the defense. Absolutely crushed the buffalo today. Mitch Trubisky is just okay. I see what Bobby sees. I see special. I see when Baker Mayfield takes over the starting job the fans come to the stadium. Everybody's excited jerseys are being sold. Lebron who it's Baker Mayfield. That's what it felt like, and I think that's why you had to fire Hugh Jackson. And I think whether it was Todd Haley or not I think they did the right thing. I just wish it wasn't Greg Williams. Think Baker Mayfield thinks they did the right thing. You know, he said when we just listened to that that clip that they've done. What did he say good? They've done tried to do what they do. Well, do more of that. But he said they did better today, and I'm paraphrasing than they have in the past. Is that a little shady is? He a green changes. I think that might say maybe we're trying to do too much. Get a little too cute. Little too smart parrot back. Let's figure out what we do. Well, you mentioned Landry Chubb get some of these guys in joke like they've made plays. Let's try to focus in on what we're doing. Well, what we're comfortable with do more of that to do quite as many things and be so exotic Baker Mayfield. This isn't totally indicative of everything quarterback rating was ninety five today. That's pretty good for a rookie quarterback Bobby the problem is they're not trying to diagnose the defense. They're trying to figure out who they are. So it's like what can we do not college for ten minutes? It's a point of discovery in time in your life. Maybe this Browns teams college together and figure out what they are were. They wanna be what they're good at and then maybe embark on this opportunity again next year. And that's the problem with the Browns and the teams that are mediocre you're still trying to figure you out instead of looking at the defense and to answer your question about what does Baker. Who cares? We're we drafted. You we paid you. You should do what we tell you to do the problem is he doesn't respect it. And when the the quarterback doesn't respect it. I think that's a bigger problem than does. He agree with it. I think it's interesting that you say they're trying to figure themselves out yet. They fire their head coaching office of coordinator talk about making things way more difficult for you. And then you go in and play the chiefs this week. Yeah. I totally when you when you make wholesale changes. Like that is not because you're a good organization in week eight. You're not a good organization. Unfortunately, they just don't know what they're doing could be absolutely rudderless ship. And that's the problem as you make those changes because you're not really sure of what you wanna do. Absolutely. Will coming up next. What's the biggest takeaway from today's games? We haven't really gotten into that. We'll talk about that more coming up on football frenzy on ESPN radio in the app legend, John has a.

"Five eleven lusted sell. Halftime Notre Dame leads navy twenty said nothing. Volvo nicer Ryan Harrison the boot Jack Nolan on the field. And look it on the field right now. The Notre Dame offense utterly up on the sideline. The book we talked about how good he was against Pittsburgh, at least, efficiency wise. No, he threw the two interceptions for the first time as a starter. Ian was over eighty percent in that game. And that's where he finds himself tonight. He's fourteen out of sixteen for one forty five. He leads all of college football in completion percentage. Seventy five percent on the season. Now, it's only been four games this fifth. Call you quarterback. That's incredible. I mean Aaron Rodgers had about a sixty four percent completion rate, which is why the Packers took him in the first round when they had Brett farve. You've got a guy. He's got seventy five percent completion that needs to go. The offense to get the ball. The receivers Notre Dame moving from our right to the left. I down in ten from their own seventeen books sets up play action lofts want deep down the sideline has a wide. Open Jaffar Armstrong for a big gain. He ran out of the far sideline after a corner. Route got in twenty five yards. There was no one near number eight coach Kelly trying to go for hopefully to get the ball back. As navy has the ball after half. You don't want your offense to sit too long, outscoring data compliments. Ian is now fifteen out of seventeen to what you were saying Ryan his yards per completion is over ten yards. So it's not like, he's dinking Dunkin. He's also pushing the ball down the field. First down in ten from the forty two yard line. Book hands off to the forty yard line and sack is Dexter Williams. You went to the left side and tried to cut it back and gained only one to bring up. Second down nine clock is ticking for twenty eight four twenty seven until hats on is the Irish looking over to the sideline. Now, they're using emceeing this yet this season, right? They had metal coal about five yards behind the offense at numbers on it. Ian book looking over to that pole each and every play second down eleven from the forty-one kids inside to Jaffar Armstrong cuts it up to the forty eight yard line has tackled right there. Pardon me. That's Dexter Williams Williams tackled after a gain of Santa Dexter possibly had a first down right there. But he call a slow taking the hand off from the book who still had his eyes downfield. You always want to ensure the hand off before the big game. So excellent focus and execution right there by Dr William third down and four from their own forty eight Williams and Armstrong in the game clock is Scott. Thirty second time out three forty left in the second quarter. The Irish leading eighty twenty said nothing. While the Irish offense on the sideline navy defense sideline. White in front of us. Literally moving from our right to left here in the second quarter other scores of interest today next week the Irish will be at northwestern big win for the Wildcats tonight. I'll believable knock it off. Wisconsin rank number twenty thirty one to seventeen they were in control the entire time. Check him out on Twitter to their strength. Coach was going nuts. You know, Paula strength coaches love act like they're in it. Jumping jacks running man. Got a strength coaches willing them to win. And one of the teams ranks in front of Notre Dame. The number one seem Alabama off today. But number two, Clemson taken care of Florida state will be in south bend and a couple of weeks fifty nine to ten. Irish offense back on the field. Now third down and four from their own forty eight Armstrong and Williams both tailbacks in bookkeeping himself rolling out to his right? Wants to pass directing traffic now puts his head down across the fifty yard line. Foreign into the field run out of bounds. Why did the first down? Mark will see what can be given at an Falkman defensive end makes the tackle. He's going to be about four or five inches. Short of the first down there. Look to his right had defender, Anthony Villalobos in pursuit kind of looked at him was like this guy's not gonna get me. Stretched it out to the right? Cross. The hash crossed the number decided to go for the first time. And they're going to take a closer look at it lead. They're going to bring sticks out in measures the balls on the far side of the field. Just before the forty eight yard line of navy. So they moved those near chains about two feet up. And we'll take a closer look here. Three thirty four left's until halftime Notre Dame enjoying a twenty nothing lead over navy. Down there. Examining going say, he's an answer to short. I'll say it's less than an inch four for the length of an afro, I work for you. You've had some creative ways to describe the short distances. I've got plenty more radio ten years. The NFL will give you some. Quite a few games left. Does in your back pocket so four and less than an inch? At Notre Dame is facing from there. Boot into navy territory now, so it's a midshipman forty eight yard line tight formation as expected he will walk up. He's going to take it from under center. Has a tight end as his fullback. That's Brock, right. Number eighty nine in his tailback is Dexter Williams in the classic. I formation one receiver to his lapsed tied in motion to his luck. We'll keep to themselves quarterback. Sneak not a big game. That looks like he has just enough when you only need an inch. You don't need a big gain. And that's going to be I now Notre Dame offensive line for Notre Dame. Right. They're doing a little surge. Remember that delicious melon drink that had like three hundred grand caffeine. They just surged that line, right? They're getting the first down. Go behind the big fellas air banks, and Sam must've chains. Move after a gain of somewhere between one and two yards spring first down in San from the forty seven navy, Dexter Williams. The tail back to the left of book shotgun to wideouts to his lap to to his right play action sets up wafts over complete a foster thirty and twenty-five dark a wipe down the far frigging at twenty four. So impressive book bookie handed goes hand the ball off the Dexter Williams. Brought the ball up. Never brought it back down fired it right away to call combat looked like a young Charleston out there on the right hash. Exactly. How that plays supposed to look he sneaks behind the linebackers and before it gets the safety. It put it on first down in ten from the twenty three book rose out to his left sets up throws back to his right? A wide open texture Williams or question fifteen down inside the ten yard line play. Book role to his left. Stop whipped is entire body and threw it right to Dexter Williams. Who was wide open in the flat. What a play call brings out. I down and goal from the seven yard line. Reminiscent of the road or the right throwback to the left that match scored on. In the game against Stanford book from the shotgun. Rolls out to his right Kim to call commanders cut down to the six yard line. Play action right away quick role and the short pass to commence tackle by safety Jacobs. Springer. Pick up one yard clock is ticking. One forty nine and counting until halftime Notre Dame trying to add to that twenty to nothing lead against navy. The book is looking to sideline is in. No hurry right now. He's eighteen out of twenty for two hundred twelve yards. Ninety percent two guys. United played a lot of football. That's impressive free wideouts to the laptop book. He's in the shotgun. Dexter Williams lined up to his right fake in motion. Play action throws to the end zone. Over the last minute. He had bows. Boykin back of the end zone. Just a little bit behind him. Sure, why not to down absolute fast. I could barely see the ball leave his hands through just a little behind miles boykin there if he let them a little more that's a touchdown books. Only eighteen out of twenty one. Now, Ryan what's wrong with them out of dogs? Not focused brings up third down and goal now from the five yard line. I can't believe that number tight formation. Suweidi outs near to the latte suit of the Wright. Texture Williams to his left from the shotgun. Calls for the ball throws to his left for speak has it. But fighting and down at the one yard line. He caught the ball before. At the near numbers here as he win between the numbers and the sideline was brought down at the one yard line of four Notre Dame now with fourth and goal from the one. Penalty marker in the end zone. Okay. I'm watching the replay. I thought he might have got in. Chris fink? They're dragging the midshipmen defender from the five yard line all the way to the one. Defense number fourteen half of this. So you go from four goal from the wants a first and goal from a little bit inside the one. One third thirteen left until hats on Notre Dame would be excellent opportunity to add to that twenty to nothing lead. That's the second penalty for navy in this game. That's uncharacteristic of a navy team. Usually, they don't give you any kind of break right there. That's what happens when you have a powerful offense guys start playing out of their technique to try and stop. You Notre Dame moving from our right to the left. The linemen are on the ball on the far hash in book looked to the sideline for a long time. Now he jogs up talking to his offense lineman. He has chased Klay pulled was right and Dexter Williams. The tailback. Whistles blew the referees are talking now at the ten yard line on the far side of the field. Three of them. Huddled up a huddle is now four referees. Zebras can you put on the ten yard line? They actually moved the ball. It was a penalty against navy on the one yard by the move the ball back. Talking about fixing that navy now to referees guard of the sideline to talk to Brian Kelly. The ball rang I was sitting on the three yard line for speak was on the one yard line. And then there was a navy penalty. What am I missing here lines? So the ball be closer to the goal at depends. Where that holding Paul was if it's in the field check in with Jack holding call was in the end zone was away from where the ball was. That's why was enforced the way it was. It was not on. Anything in the end zone. Automatically goes from the two yard line. I down and goal from the two yard line. Meeting on the sideline is now done between. The officials have Brian Kelly. Again, Notre Dame on the far hash moving the right to the latching pass was behind the line of scrimmage, therefore, I out after the enforcement. It is third down. Third down and goal from the two yard line. That's what took for drugs. On the far hash looks like he's gonna lineup under center as Dexter Williams behind him. Three wideouts moved to the rights. Hand off to the right side. Dexter Williams across the five yard line into the end zone. Just inside the pylon. His touchdown makes it twenty six to nothing Irish. Notre Dame was in a heavy formation to the left. They took two tight ends and a wide out. Move them to the right hand off to Dexter Williams who kicked it outside and found wide open spaces. Sprinted just at that pylon and went in by himself for his third score. There an extra point away for making it twenty seven to nothing with one. Oh, four left until he's like in that. Right front end zone. I'll tell you what. It's right. It's right. One touchdown the first quarter two in the second Jonathan door kicking for Justin. You kick is up in good you'd has its weeks point so jor kicking the extra points. One four locked in the second quarter. Notre Dame's lead over navy is now twenty seven to nothing. What I love about that touchdown run is that coach Kelly didn't change the play despite the penalty changing where the ball was. And what down it was. He said, I don't care. What is we're scorned display? He had those three tight ends move from left to right confusing. The defense the Dexter Williams powerfully exploding through the line of scrimmage and watching Hudson Sullivan as Hudson sullen thought he had the linebacker great angle. But not when Dexter Williams football, Dexter Williams. Was a little bit off by his standards after what he showed us amazing. Ron's against Virginia Tech and Stanford was only thirteen carries for a little over thirty yards against Pittsburgh with so far to ninety nine carries. Seventy three yards and three touchdowns. Also seen shofar Armstrong. Good to have him back after missing more than a month. He has six carries for thirteen yards. Also has a big gain on a reception on a corner. Route to start that drive. So just as Brian Kelly wanted to he's not featuring Jaffar Armstrong, but he's certainly using him in his first game back since that Vanderbilt game on September twenty second. Keep score two. You might see some other young players the CBO Fleming stir and others on the field tonight. One zero four left in the second quarter. The Irish lead seems to be growing all the time twenty seven nothing against navy wall is in the air and Springer this lets it roll out of the back of the endzone. They'll begin on their own twenty five yard line. Notre Dame defense. Once again, the one negative from the day, drew tranquil laughed about halfway through the first quarter. With an injured ankle went to the locker room and came back. It's not his knee, which was the initial worry for a guy with some history with knee injury. So injured ankle has drew tranquil out number forty drew wide. A sophomore has been it has a sack. In his replacement of drew Frankel. Number forty out there next to number four right now. Go ahead. Ryan I like that. You're tranquil came back onto the field to let his guys know. Hey, it's not over. I'm not, you know, I'm feeling. Okay. So he came back out with the Buddha..

"I get half off is that is that over promising i got hit under delivering i hear you that's a lot they wouldn't make money they wouldn't be advertising on shows like this if they were giving up fifty percents off thinking theory cbs sports radio got football to forty is coming up in the sec i want to throw something at you which i know you will appreciate and i know that you don't know about baseball i know if i don't take it easy there buddy tapa get real tap him all right so during the break echinacea geeked out a little bit okay it's very rare that i get a chance to to really go fullthrottle nerd interesting when i went to go get my call did bring you now so we continue the conversation about home runs and the derby and then extended it to hank aaron and how you act like me x couple years old there's i guess me like ac didn't realize how great an all around player hank aaron was until we were probably thirteen fourteen years old because you just heard his name is a home run hair or be is three thousand heads he stole some bases out of thirty thirty seasons so he's just got you know digging deep into the annals of baseball and then i brought up ted williams and that we started talking about ted williams how we miss time for world war two was a pilot all right now ted will and i know there's a lot of people who know this but i also know there's a lot of people who don't just let this register for a second ted williams comes up his first year he's fourth in the mvp voting right has a great year hundred forty five or b is as a twenty year old yeah on twenty twenty years old forty five yes and twenty right led the league in total bases led the league in or be is he hit three twenty seven twenty his next three years right okay all star all star allstar leads the league in runs two to three times leads the league in home runs two other three times batting average open he hits four zero six that's the year he hit 406 how many how many times how many home runs was he hitting in those thirty seven and thirty so it's not an insignificant number no no no no he was at that fenway same ballpark it is down pesky pole and bumps you're banged a few over the monster out there left field thirty eight high and then that's through nineteen forty two so he's twenty three years of age and he's already led the league in three six nine twelve fifteen eighteen twenty one twenty seven offense of categories then he goes to world war two okay all right and he's a pilot and he misses the nineteen forty three nineteen forty four nineteen forty five season they are former at how old was he was just going to get to that your former athlete and a great at a great play former great player imagine missing i know football's a little different a lot different than baseball age twenty four age twenty five and h twenty has a career imagine that i don't have a career he's at war i don't come back with a career you don't you don't he comes back he hits it's three thirty three forty two he's a little rusty that's it yeah just think about that in the context of and i don't mean about anything politically at like the with with the flag or the thinking about how some athletes complain about a hamstring poll don't plow through injury or complain about or or let excuse be made for them they weren't successful or great or if they had potential and didn't live up to it correct more so more accurately three years world war two and he still considered the greatest greatest hitter and nobody argues that maybe get some tony gwynn's which i understand over at your computer a lot of bald right you need is that bold means lead the league ted williams football to forty s let's go.
