Mladen is in for Michael Riedel this morning and are big three stories well as Joe mentioned in the news, the head of the CDC. His name is Dr Robert Redfield, he testified is going to be late, second or third quarter of 2021 before covert vaccine is available to the general public. And he said, face mass arm or guaranteed to protect him from Covina and a vaccine. The president said Redfield misunderstood the questions was confused and is wrong on both counts. So we put up a little Twitter poll at our Twitter handle at Land. Michael W. R. And we asked our listeners who they believed Donald Trump or Robert Redfield. I think it's nudging more and more towards the president here, I thought would be 90 10 amongst our listeners. Right now. It's a 73% to 27. In favor of the president. No, You know, it's early that bulls only been up for 15 minutes. We'll have to wait and see. Well, I'm the gratifying part for me is how many people are listening. How many people have voted Thiss early hour in the day. Also in the Big three, it's open mayoral warfare. Rudy goes after the Blasio called him an idiot that you stole that quote from Michael Riedel. Well. Rudy also went after the school's chancellor, and Ah, and the blouse. You're fired back that Rudy is unhinged. So I mean, you know, maybe it's a kernel of truth on both sides of that controversy. Well, no deal. Analyze a little bit late around. And rounding out the Big three in a big about face. The big 10, which includes Rutgers is going to play football starting next month. Now wasn't the president's urging because he got involved in a controversy and we're going to check in with Christine Brennan. Later on this morning at about 8 50 cents, terrific columnist for USA Today, and she contributes a lot of TV shows as well, and we'll get her opinion on that lot of sports is going on The NFL ratings of tanked US Open golf Tournament begins today. So, But, I mean, is it that simple that you just want to go to school and you got suspended? Is that the whole story? Absolutely it is that simple. Maverick Yura. Your parents named you correctly, and I will tell you that I was telling my kids about your story last night and they were like you're a hero because they desperately want to be back in class. What are your what? The fellow students telling you about the fact that you were showing up to class every day to try to get back into a real classroom, which I don't blame you, by the way. Well, it's a It's a popular opinion amongst a lot of students. They feel that the learning is inadequate. They feel that they can't learn effectively. A student are you are you Are you one of those? Are you a straight A student were what kind of grades do you get? I would consider myself a good soon. Yes. Dodge your question. A maverick. You're looking to deal. Good morning, gentlemen. I mean, there's a couple of things that were going on Mavericks family. I've been the family attorney for a number of years. So when the issue arose, a number of colleagues and myself, you know, congratulated them. Young kids standing up for what he believes in and you know where he thinks things should go. He's not the only one in the community thinks that the first issues that came up were obviously addressing addressing The disciplinary issues that the school has to go through. Andi is in a lot of those cases. There's some flaws. They don't really follow the rules once it goes beyond those five days, suspensions. So they have an administrative process that they have to dio and at this point We're going through that administrative process that has to be completely before he can go toe Aah! Court or a judge and say, Listen, they are right. They are running over my right. My civil rights and the rights guaranteed to me under you know, New York State Constitution, another educational laws that say I get to go to school and I get to have my agent. I'm entitled to that. So Chris on DH Chris Ross's Mavericks attorney, Chris He's been suspended for the year. Do you have recourse? Well, there is and you know what? They're calling it a suspension. "So school has started in most of our area. And if we look out, Tio where you're from Jet set Juliet and Brian Manga Luch, Uh, 200,000 students were resuming classes yesterday or at some point during the week. And it was one young man is senior at William Floyd High School who decided he wanted to be in a brick and mortar school. Facility. He wanted to be in the classroom. So he decided that he would go to the first day of classes at William Floyd High School, even though he was not on the roster to be in schools and save chosen a hybrid method that some schools have chosen you for the safety of the kids in the school. That's the whole point. Well, some of the time you're in the school the other time you're at home. Ah, and you should be getting your online training so he showed up on Tuesday. Theater. Indents teachers said By the way, Ah, maverick, interesting first pretty applicable said. You know, you're not scheduled to be here today. You know you're free to go home. You're not scheduled to be here until Thursday or Friday. And Maverick said No, No, I'm staying here. So the attendants teacher didn't know what to do other than to send him to the principal's office, which he went. Principal said. You know, we're going to send you home. Hey, chose not to go home now, he said. They said go home and he didn't go home. Hey, did not follow their orders. He remained the rest of the day and he finished his learning in class. At the end of the day, the school administration made the decision to suspend him for five days. Both his parents, both his mother and father, though, were very supportive of his desire. Yeah, I mean, these would be in the classroom who obviously have made it clear to their son how they feel. I mean, I respect the kid for having the gumption to go in on and stand up for what he thinks is right. But the fact is that the reason that we're doing this is because students were trying to keep students healthy, and that the fact is the school is is supposed to comply with the state mandated Social distancing measures. And so if every student just said screw it, we'd have a problem. And so I mean, while I respect the kid This is not this is I don't think this is the way to do this. I think this is this is something that needs need to be dealt with in the courts, Frankly, well, their parents who have decided not to send their kids anyway, even if they have a hybrid situation going on. We've seen that in the New York City system. We've seen that out in Long Island. We've seen that in Jersey. They will given that option. But they haven't been given the option that this maverick took. Which wass. Hey, I'm just going to school. And I don't see the science. The dictates that he's going to be a problem. I don't see a lot of young people are going to suddenly say Oh, I don't want to stay home. If given the opportunity. A lot of kids will stay home. There are others who are aggressive. Who kind of wanted to want to go to school, right? But suspend him for five days, you know, even suspend the kids for bringing in a 90 school, saying a five day suspension Now is he isn't just a threat. Or is it just a Yeah, This is happening. Well, let's find out from our many listeners whose side are you on Maverick and his parents, who are insisting that he should be able to get his education in a classroom at William Ploy High school. Which I think I think Look I agree with I don't think virtual learning is good for the kids. But by the same token, we're in the middle of a pandemic right? And the school administration has chosen the hybrid approach there. Some schools in which you cannot go to school at all. Because it's all home learning on the computer. There are others a lot of Catholic schools who have their doors open for Ah, schooling in the school. In fact, that's what actually caused an increase. In parochial school tuition and attendance is at a lot of the Catholic schools have said. Hey, look, you can send your kids here for five days were doing social distance, saying they're gonna have to wear masks. They're gonna have to do all the things That are required during a pandemic. But we're not going to keep them at home. And then there are charter schools who were doing all their teaching. Ah, virtually so the kids is staying at home and in fact The most interesting one is the success Academy in which you have a curriculum. You started 8 30 in the morning. You have to wear your uniform even when you're home. And you're not offline until 4 30 in the afternoon in which you get into mitten breaks and obviously in an hour for lunch. Do you have to wear your uniform? If you do just absurd where edge like my kids, all three who go to public schools when school resumes and that keeps getting pushed back in the city of New York. But most of the day, so I'll be at home. They have to be on the computer, but they're only getting maximum. Maybe three hours training. Where is when you're in school? You get a full day of school, So I have to say, though.
