How to Be a Travel Agent With Sarah Wilson
"What is the process of actually becoming a travel agent. What does that look like. I think the first thing you have to do is really love travel and really love research thing that a lot of people don't think about when it comes to being a travel agent is all the research that actually does go into it. It's not as simple as picking a destination and a hotel and boom. You're done you have to actually really look into the occasions. Really listen to what your clients you're asking or and it can take days to figure out the perfect itinerary before he wants to present it to them and even longer before they say yes. It's definitely a job that you want to really think about before starting in if you don't like research it's certainly not for you however i d like research. I like learning about the world learning about different cultures areas. So all that was fascinating to me. Once you decide that that's the you wanna do. There are different host agencies out there which is a great place to start a host agency. You become an agent under that. Like a sub agent thomas where you get us their travel credentials and trips that way. It's not until a little bit later. That most people kind of branch off on their own increased their own agency with their own travel credentials a process. It's definitely a process that you wanna take slowly

Ronald J. Pestritto on the Origins of American Progressivism
"I have on the line ronald history. To- professor of politics at hillsdale college. I'm glad to bring to your attention and important new book. America transformed the rise. Legacy of american progressivism. Do you want to understand. What the origins of america's left are this is a book to do. So professor post-rio welcome to the dennis prager show. Hi donna factor. Having long yes. Indeed people don't know and it's understandable. They think to the extent that they think they think that it started in the sixties that's incorrect. Is that right. Well that's right. The sixties are flexing of what team before earlier weights of the bruins on. But you know one of the reasons. I i wrote. The book is because people down in trying to become so troubled many of them by what they see and don't and don't know that there's a much longer history this that's right. When would you say it began. So i try to talk to the latter part of the nineteen hundreds and really dennis to the really big changes that happened in in american higher education that time and that's the progressive movement a lot of the ideas that we get in really changing country twentieth and twenty first century. Really were the result of of very different political principles that were important into the country in the second part of the nineteen hundreds after civil war and that starting to universities and then influence later on the part of the twentieth century to the major political movement of progressivism and near the the more famous national figures. That people may have heard of like dido roosevelt. Woodrow wilson

"If the gentleman says your home for skeptical giants baseball then last night, he said, your home for Hain Yeah. Yeah, I was listening on the radio driving home last night. From an All Star game in Woodland and heard John Miller's call. Paulie was watching on the TV cops watching on T V and E bag early writing about it. Let's talk Giants Dodgers Andrew Our weekly Wednesday hit. How are you, My friend? Doing okay. As you were good man bag. Guys continue to you know this conversation we do the show on Tuesday. And it's a whole different deal. We do a show on Wednesday. It's a It's a different a different story last night, so the easy narrative Andy is ah ha. That's why they need a closer first and foremost at the trade deadline. Too easy of a narrative or is that the right way to go? You know, it's I think it's it's a certainly a valid hotel in a position to take up your fan and betrayed deadline is is right around the corner and and you. You know, this is a team that's prioritized depths and we've seen them win with depth, and I think there's no doubt They put together a bullpen that's become pretty good overall and giving them a lot of value and gotten better. As the season has gone on. They tried different names. And you know Dominic Leone is pretty good. And, um Harlan Garcia, they wrote him out with his struggles early and he's been terrific. And China. Rogers on Balance has been great. Last night was the first time he gave up a home run in the loss all season. You know, treatment years was 1 96 last night on back to that case, But if you go out and you improve by getting a difference, making reliever who can shorten the game for you? Whether it's a Craig Kimbrel or rice. So Iglesias guys that are going to cost a lot, But guys that could definitely handle the ninth inning and shorten the game that improves your depth everywhere. That means you can use Tyler Rogers at any point in the game and be a little more surgically precise. Whatever you are, you think you have a pocket for him to take down means treatment. He doesn't have to. Necessarily mean on him to pitch three days in the world, which they haven't done all year. And you know that the Lord situations where they're going to be tempted to down the stretch. I do think that of all the ways this team can improve. One of the one of the clearest ways they can improve is to get deeper. As a bullpen, and that's my building from the back in getting the game shortening guy, but you know, that's not an incremental improvement. That's not a big are you pick up? It's not a minor deal. That's a big name and somebody that every team in baseball is gonna want and it's going to be expensive and you know what their appetite will be to how much they would give up to get. One of those type relievers because there's only a few of them out there. That's going to be real interesting as we go through these next few days here, and that would be the first real hefty move of the Farhaan error, right? I mean, I know Mark Molander was a big name. The team wasn't going anywhere. Right? So that seems like a no brainer. Um, you know, will Smith was a pretty big name too, I guess or was, uh yeah, So or I'm sorry. Will Smith wasn't traded Sam Dyson, right, right. Yeah, I'm confusing All my trades in the far on our, but in point is that he hasn't done the blockbuster trade like to go get Craig Kimbrel, Right or her to go Get to use your word, Murph. Nothing splashy, right? Nothing splash so we'd see we'd we'd finally see what he values and what he doesn't in that farm system. Yeah, And you know, it's all context to. I mean, this is we're talking about a different error than it was 10 or 15 years ago. When you know you just get in and you've got to testify series and everyone starts fresh. I mean, how much can you really go to the wall for what could be a one game playoffs, especially the inner West. When you've got two teams that you know we're not going to go away and it's going to be a battle to the end to try to hang on to this division. But you also have to pay respect to the fact that the Giants have left the decision since 1/30 and and, you know, Right now it's a one game lead recently. Could have been a three game lead. The 19 was obviously very painful yesterday. Uh and you know, the other thing is is if you improve yourself on the back end, then you know, maybe John Grebe is another roster and he gets back to you know, two of those runs last night earlier in the game, so Um, yeah, it's they definitely. I think it's incumbent upon them to improve this roster. I think this front office recognizes that pay respect to the buy in that these veterans have given to this coaching staff work this coaching staff has put in This organization is where it is and and it's the front office stop to to improve the roster, and I do think that they're going to be committed to doing that, even if it's with, you know, maybe training a prospect or two for a rental player, but You know what's the degree? How much will they really go for it? And that's that's going to be interesting because you know this is from office that wants to win as much as the players them and and I do think they're going to be motivated to be pretty aggressive. That's the that's the big question is, you know what are you like? Are they as far as I say, Do you want to win the World Series this year? Like, you know, it sounds crazy, right? But They got a chance. You know, Willie do. Yeah, but But do you do you do you wheel and deal like you're trying to win the World Series? Right. So this is the That's the That's the question facing these guys in the next 10 days. Yeah. I mean, you know they're not going to trade Marco Luciano. They're not going to to, you know, mortgage their future or or make, uh, you know, a wheeler for Beltran type of trade. I don't think that's going to happen. But I do think that there are some, you know, farm system pieces that they could move. Four rental players. And you have to remember too, that this is an organization that spent like 12 million bucks. Uh, to get Will Wilson in a salary, dump trade and take Zack Cozart is money. From the Angels, just like a year and a half ago. So there were that there is a good reminder that will Wilson is probably not somebody anyone would put in the Giants top five prospects. Maybe the back into the top 10, and to them he was worth 12 million bucks to acquire him. So these prospects are worth a lot of these teams. And they do not want to part with him easily. So as much as you can say, Yeah, you know, just treat Jerry borrow to trade this guy or that guy for a rental player. That's you know, that's not the way that this front offices is valuing prospects. So it's definitely gonna be quite a lot of back and forth and I'd imagine there'll be a lot of, uh, you know very interesting discussions going on in the front office, not just as they evaluate targets and and weigh the relative merits of deals, but But just think about it philosophically..

"Was fundamentally altered by the United States Supreme Court under pressure from Franklin Roosevelt. Does that mean? We have to put up with it for the rest of our time? Anything. Joe Biden is getting away with what he's getting away with. He stands on the shoulder. On the shoulders. Obama, who stands on the shoulders. Of LBJ. Who stands on the shoulders of F. D. Finding Inspiration in Will Smith's Paunch
"Just happened to stumble across a post that will smith put up and he posted a picture of him. The first one that i saw was a picture of him. And he's kind of these tight black shorts and he's got this kind zipper sweatshirt unzipped and He's does he doesn't look like the will smith that we've seen in. I am legend or the other movies. Right and goes. I'm i'm going to be real with y'all in the worst shape of my life. So then i stumble across another post from wool smith. Where again he's standing there. And he's kind of pushing his belly out this time and again. Not the will smith we're used to seeing right. And he said this is. The body carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days of grazing through the pantry. I love this body. But i wanna feel in all caps better. No more midnight muffins this. I'm i'm a. I'm a get in the best shape of my life. Teaming up with youtube to get my health and wellness back on track copa work so i saw that and i thought that that was pretty cool because you know there's gotta be a lot of egos involved when you're will smith right posting these pictures of you not in the best shape of your life. I think it was. It was really inspiring and it made me think. Wow that's kind of like me. You know minus the movie star career. The the perfect family life and all of that actually tell what kind of shape you is in the or is he just like in a baggy sweatshirt going you know. How Buying Trends Have Changed Since the Pandemic With Alice Stolz
"Have changed a lot in property in the last twelve months. A main wave seen it from the perspective. I'm sure you've seen it from the consumer perspective with people searching behaviors changing and things like that what trends e it to mind at the moment what people are searching for it. It's as simple as that. And i think it's such a fascinating insight into people's what they're dreaming of us vice and we know that when it comes to property it's often onslaught during that people on the backbone thinking when are retired lot sleep eurotrash all that but i think what koi was created more urgency around that and we did say paypal suddenly looking things. That weren't that interested in in a you. Pray everything from hypothesis to guidance to dick to spice to spare rooms be further out and tends to commute so we definitely saw that wash through so quickly and one of mice me also was the bribery of people who they were sort of uncertainty but so many people were like stuff at this is my chance to take a leap and around with you. Personally wilson that right if it was just amazing to me how many these did think. I'm just going to break away from having to pay really needed. Neither see having pain in my office. And god what we saw. A lot of rounding on is term commutable acreage which he decide theory. A larger sized parcels of land could still community she. If i needed to today's awake with something but the people did that really really quickly. It didn't take that long for that to wash through. And do you think based on what you guys are. Seeing evert demand that that that's likely to change anytime soon or a week. Kinda gonna go through to the end of the year on the same sort of level of activity that we're seeing right now. I think as employers urging back to the office in some instances we ask saying a bit more people hang on. Maybe a will hold fire on that instance. I think a lot of did get washed out into the regions quickly. Is he really quizzes. Up and leave. i neu- the for some people. I really realizing the value of having that office nearby. That will i so. I think we're gonna say sheeting demographics table who do really value wanting to bain there. I don't know how you feel when. I really miss being in the office and i think on kind of lockheed and i can have the best of both worlds and have a house in the suburbs going to my work and collaborate with colleagues and i think people are appreciating that more than ever at the
Cubs Throw Combined No-Hitter Against the Dodgers
"Get to the knows. We had a no hitter last night. The seven th of twenty twenty one that already ties a modern record for most no hitters in a season and let's get to the highlights first of all in the eighth inning the cubs turn a double play and wilson. Dr one of the deep left field. This is back toward the wall. It's got a chance and it has gone to run home. Run willson contreras. Cubs laid three to nothing from the cubs radio network. And then finally the ninth inning the cubs leading the dodgers. Four zero craig. Kimbrel is on to face. Aj pollock for the final out toward first results on the back. There's one second there's a plane that is also from the cubs radio network. After the game craig kimball talks about closing it out great. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna lie. I had no idea Until last al and everybody can run out into the game and We going through my job. I mean everybody did a great job today. Coming exact kabbalah went out there and we needed this game today. It's no better way to do this.
"will wilson" Discussed on KNBR The Sports Leader
"Do we think about what's going on this year with with Marco? I think, as you said, it's not time to stand the alarms by any means. Jake a. Cooper of Baseball America instead of really good piece kind of outline this kind of how slow kind of sloppy right now the minor leagues have been. It's nothing against the prospect. It's More than anything, another reminder of just how important in game development is, You know, I mean, the Giants did everything that can last year to have Luciano ready and up in his development, whether it be Summer can be alternate side all these things, But the reality is he and all these other guys did lose a full season of in game development, so it's really tough. You know, we're reminded that he is only 19 years old. He doesn't look like it. I would not be the same as the Giants opening day and again, this kind of not look like a 19 year old. But You gotta slow down sometimes because his only hit one or the single the middle, but it was appear muscled up up the middle, and he struck out twice to one was a tough call. One was Just being kind of alone. Bye bye High fastball, so he has to make the adjustments. But he's just so so young, and he doesn't turn 20 until September, So he's gonna be knighted for a while is years away. Years away. A guy who really we should be on the radar for this year, especially when Mark Sanchez from KNBR Don't Nass to Logan Web about a shoulder last night and asked him if he had, you know, prior shoulder injury, And he said, just comfort, he said, Yeah. You don't want to get into it initially, so well See, That's why I came out of the game a little prematurely last night, and he's gonna maybe getting them I ride today. Hopefully he won't need it. But it all leads to Tyler Beatty. Who was a first round draft pick back in 2014 number. 14 overall didn't pitch last year after having Tommy John surgery when they had the shutdown. He decided that the T J. But he is back and pitching. Give us an update, he said. Three minor league rehab appearances a Triple A Sacramento and I I think of one point in the coming months. They may need him. So how's he doing down there? His last time out in one of the best one By far, I think it was three innings, four strikeouts, No runs, maybe one hit, but he's looks really good, you know, And then it goes back to where you know you're gonna have to have pitching that We knew this coming into the year, especially after a shortened season like last year, that weird 60 games Stephen, I think one of the biggest question marks was How are pictures going to recover from last year? How they're gonna be able to go in day in and day out every every every fifth day for starters and be able to give you 56 innings, seven innings. And how long will that last So You know, more more credit than ever to four anxiety to Scott Harris for going out and getting the death like an Alex would life even guys that that are other guys. I don't triple A like stock has burned and shown you Yamaguchi because those are guys that could play big factors. Later down the season, but BT he looks great right now. I know he's been eyeing a junior turn, you know, ahead of head of his. We have appearances. So they're you know, they're starting up his Pitch town, and he's only been out three innings. But sooner than later he might play a very vital role for the Giants. Dog Johnson, NBC Sports Bay Area with us here on the sports later, don't How's Elliot Ramos doing? I know he's cooled off a little bit. But what do you seeing from him right now and one of the chances he still finds his way to Oracle Park before the end of this summer. I wouldn't be surprised if he does find his way to Oregon part like you said. He's cooled off. But no, he had a slow start on opening day, then got really, really hot, You know, just kind of continuing what he did in spring training where he did at the alternate site. I think for some people with a little bit of a surprise. That he started a double and a triple A but again just like you guys were staying with Luciano. A September birthday only a 19 year old. This is the same thing with with Ramos where he thinks a September birthday 21 years old. You know, another guy where we gonna take maybe two steps back and say, Wow, this guy really is that young people a little bit of time, but The way that he matured the last year, the last two years at the plate, not just power wise of being with a layoff pictures in the dirt being on the take a walk here and there. That's what's gonna get him to San Francisco. Ah, lot sooner than you know, somebody expect for how young is I wouldn't be surprised by any means to be does make his debut this year. He's able to get every day arrest in center field and double instead of Triple A, But he's someone that you know they want to be a little cautious at the beginning, and Dan started wrestling promoting guys. He's of course, one of those names we're gonna look for as far as how aggressive the promoting is gonna be. And I could definitely see heavier Ramos in San Francisco. This season's Yeah. Have your job away. And then at some point, maybe movement the Triple Eight so sacramental this year we were talking about Marco Luciano. You know, I used to be the Cali. They don't even call it a colleague anymore, And it's low way which is weird to me. Hi. Eight. For the Giants is Yuji. So will Wilson is actually the level higher than Luciano is and he's playing a lot of shortstop. You came on TV with us last night. On the post game to tell his story. He's a guy that the Giants essentially bought a former first round pick of the Angels. They just headed to exact co starts money on on, He's tearing it up right now. Oh, yeah. I mean, I kind of wrote about this. I think yesterday about you know, you look at the Giants roster right now. Of course, it's full of very, very smart. Farhan Zaidi signing, but his smartest move might be that You know that Essentially by Will Wilson, as like as you said, So until the 19. They basically had 100 Bishop and Will Wilson When you think about it as two first round draft picks, he's hit safely in all 10 games for the Eugene Emerald Sea. Sitting over 400. He has three home runs. Yes, six doubles, and I think that thing with Wilson if you go back, and I can keep spewing off all the numbers But I talked with Kyle hang during spring training, the Giants form director. What really stood out to me from our conversation was how highly he spoke of Will Wilson and to see the words that, he said as far as Look, you're not gonna watch him one day and fall in love with him. She's a kind of prospect where you need to sit there for the full Syriza for 23..

"You've had Crawford. He's dealing with a rib cage. I guess tightness or something like that is what they reported. He did pinch hit yesterday, which is a positive sign and Brandon Belt pinch hit a couple of days ago. Also, after being scratched from another ballgame, so belt dealing with the leg Crawford dealing with the rib cage Longoria dealing with leg Donovan Solano goes on the aisle. On, so I don't know. I don't know this next man up is they did go on acquiring infielder from the Yankees last week. Could be a backup shortstop Mauricio Dubon started in short last night, and I would really like to get more out of Marie. She had a bond. Then he is just south table. You know, I know there's been as Dave would call them banjo hitters. They're fit banjo hitters through the history of baseball. But in today's game, you've got to have some sort of excellent output. Be defensively being at the plate. If you're not gonna hit you better have the best glove on the field. If you're not gonna feel you better have one of Better bats that they can take out of the lineup. And so far for Dubonnet has not been the case at least this season. So could be Will Wilson. At some point, I'd love to see that kid up here, the former first rounder that they acquired from the Angels couple of seasons ago. And I want to say that there was a report last week that he's been one of the most impressive players. My Kruger was saying that tumor feedback has been one of the more impressive players out of the alternate sites. All these guys are getting worked at the alternate side of seeing a couple of highlights. Johnny Das cow, the voice of the Sacramento River Cats. I should give him a follow on Twitter is constantly tweeting out videos and updates and news and things that are going on with the alternate site Giants. I think they're calling him like the A s Giants and the Jets. Giants A Esther the donor with the A's, too. It's just It's not your Triple eight. It was not a minor league team is your alternate site team. So if you wanna satellite just a minute here on on Darren rough, who's been spectacular over the last couple of games, the big home run two days ago in Philadelphia, but they're also a huge double yesterday that actually left his bat at a higher exit velocity, the hardest hit ball of the season over 109 miles an hour off the bat. From Darren Rough last night, his home run in Philly left of that at 108..

"These sports leader on the pitch swung on a ground ball to third, right to Longoria over the second Solano covering There. You could exhale. Now The ball game is over. Oh, Times baseball on the air 5 45 taking on the Reds, they can hit the Giants, winners of four in a row. Time for our weekly conversation with Andrew Bag early here in the Tolbert Kruger in Brooke's show bags is always thank you for the time, sir. How are you? Hey, don't get about you. We are doing fine. Let's talk about the Giants pitching, shall we? It's good all the way around. Starters doing the job you mentioned. And in the athletic, they gotta combine Jari of 23 to the staff overall started in relievers. They've got to combine the array of 270. So that's At the top. And in all of baseball, you getting quality starts out of everybody. Gabe Kapler's letting certain guys run, You know, a little bit more out there for he's like he likes what he's seeing. It's very early to start to make some concrete statements. But considering the questions we had about the starters, especially about the Giants pitching overall, this is an extraordinarily nice surprise and absolute surprise this early Yeah. Yeah, Good start could start. Obviously, it's like you said. It's early and you know they did happen to get the Padres without definite attached Junior really a part of most of that series, and I certainly hope he's back before too long, But they were. They were obviously not a full strength, and I don't think anyone's gonna predict the Mariners Iraqis to be among the better offensive season. This year, Colorado could never hit in San Francisco. It seems like so come the Reds and they're everything. Almost nine runs a game. Most of the major, so so this will be really interesting test to see what this party It looks like a movie this series. Bags. What do you think of the two names that we can I came came across this weekend, the Giants recalled Lamont Wade. He was with them. The spring didn't get a lot of at bats. Probably not enough at bats actually make the club But he's now up on D look good on Sunday and then the giant, you know, far on said he was gonna get a backup shortstop, and he got Cairo. Estrada from the Yankees and I don't know what ton about him. What do you think of those two guys? Yeah, I think a strong is a guy who is going to give him a little bit of depth. They really only had Will Wilson at the alternate site, and he's a guy who you know they thought would play enable this year. So, um, you know, the backup shortstop is, by the way, also kind of the main starting center fielder. Morrissey had a phone, so they knew that he needed to get another depth piece there and they did. And that's pretty much what the extent of that move was s. Oh, I don't think he's someone that they plan to be in the major leagues anytime soon. If it if he is probably somebody got hurt, but you definitely have to Of those death pieces and and wait. Yeah, boy, that really nice first game. He gets a double US single or walk, And by the way, you're starting in center field kid never even stepped foot in the ballpark before, so he was able to get some coaching from from from from Antoine Richardson from Melissa Anakin from From Ah, lot of his teammates who who have seen a lot of balls do weird things in the wind here and what great he did not look like It was his first time ever seeing what the ball look like off the bat? At the shores of McCovey cones. So very, very nice intro game for him. And now tonight that you've got the weight Miley, the only left you'll see in the series and so they're given Taking that opportunity. They give monkeys Krimsky a day now I'm sure he'll start against the 21 hander still face after this. Wanna hear thoughts on Friday bags? That was, I mean, you feel like you're watching a perfect game or no hitter and you're just watching somebody trying to get a complete game. This is this is what it's turned into. Now. It's like, Oh, my God is able to get around the TV. Someone sitting in a complete game. Where were you? It was so fun because of what happened, right? I mean, no, Quit us probably come out only pinch hits. That's incredible. And then bam! You get to the eighth And then I always had the ninth starts and owns triples. You like always coming out. It's not coming out. And then Hanson, the sac fly to man and then Gabe comes walking out to the man you like. I maybe just wanted Maggie to get big and clean the bases, often that McGee come in. And then he walks off the mound, and he's a lot. There's like a man, This is cool is like he's actually gonna let him finish this game now ultimately story single. And at that point, you know it was the prudent thing to do. To get him out of there and let McGee finish it up. But that was I mean, that was just a lot of fun. There was a lot of like, always coming. No, he's not. Oh, he is. Oh, my God. Oh, wow. I mean, I decided a ball watching watching that game because it hasn't happened and everything that went into That I'm so happy didn't blow up because I know people would've said today. That's what Just like. Just let this thing work out, please, just for me. I don't ask for much has give me this. So maybe get another complete game down the line somewhere like 2023. What do you think of Friday? I decided with super cool to watch. Yeah. Second best pitching performance by a major leaguer this weekend. I think we'll take Mr Mr Muscle Growth in San Diego, right? Yeah. I mean, every 50 years, you get a no hitter scene and then every other year, Jenna no hits you that that's gonna double sparking I'm fine with that. So, Yeah, good for them. Good for them ways ways that 3.3 94 to Mr must grow. Um, but but, yeah, you know, e think that that was exactly what you do when you manage that situation. That's exactly what Bruce boats you would have done. You go out there and check on him. Uh, you know, Brandon Belt said Come on cable, even man. You know, I guess he turned the buster and busters like, Don't ask me ask him. He's the guy with the ball. And so Johnny wanted it. And But you knew if he was going to allow another base runner than that was gonna be it so incredible story like you said, got the single and that was absolutely the right move at that 0.118 pitches. That's the most giants or in a couple years, And it's that didn't used to be Rex like territory. It obviously is pretty high. Now I Not. I think it's the most pitchers of major leaguers from this year and this may surprise you, and it's only nine games and you have one outing like that is going to throw off the average, obviously, but Giants are averaging 95 pitches per game out of their starting pitchers, and that's the highest in the majors. So it goes to show that if you have a rotation that that's still you know, within their stuff, and the throwing well. This is a pitching staff that Gabe Kapler will manage, conventionally if the advantage is there, and and so far this rotation has has been telling him. Look, you know we're the best option. Until we fatigue and we make it pretty deep in the game before that happens, So yeah, that Z. I think that this coaching staff has responded in the right way to do what they've been seeing for out of this rotation. Andrew Bagger Lee's joining us he does at this time every week here on the toll bridge, Kruger and Brooks show. How much does Buster Posey have to do with what we're seeing.

"Killing us Giants baseball scrimmaging in Scottsdale today and then leaving for Seattle, calling a rap on this covert Cactus league, but not without a scare when Mike is trying to get hit on the hand by a bill Oakland Schattman Einar. Thankfully, the Giants announced the X rays were negative. He will be day to day before Thursday's season opener. But let's listen to one last Scottsdale package. Buster drives one deep into center field. Laureano going back, still going back and its sails over his head. Bounces up against the war at the 411 FT marker cluster heading for second and he's in there standing ahead of the throw in with a double. Here's the two to you, Stransky. Wow, he got hit. He tried to get out of the way. A pitch came up and in and it hit him. I think on the hand, Sally pulls one on the ground. It is a fair ball just inside the bag. At third down the left field line kicks up against the side wall. Rolls toward the corner. Longoria in to score floor is right behind him. He'll score belt over to third. He stops there into second with a double Curt Casali, and it's four. Nothing giant. The right hander throws there's a liner deep into left field. Way back. They're still going and goodbye. It's a home run for Will Wilson. Here's the pitch now. Swing and a high fly ball to center Duggar easing over to his left and this should put it into it. He reaches up grabs it and the ball game is over. So the Giants win this final. Sentences match up of the Bay Bridge. Syriza in the desert. 72. Yeah, great to hear him and cannot wait for Thursday night. We get going. I wish it was a day game. Darn it, but anyway, number two sports story warriors. A great news started before the game when Steph Curry Said he was gonna play even with a bruised tailbone. And guess what? It worked out pretty well with Steph back as Bob Myers told us many times yesterday. You know,.

"Prospects and the best person to do that, with his NBC Sports Bay Area's Katie Woo. She doesn't excellent job. Covering all things around the bay Area in the sports world. But Katie she is our prospect expert. How are you today? Hey, Carrie. How are you doing? Well doing well. It's been an exciting week down here in Scottsdale. And you know, the second week of spring training. Katie is kind of when the prospects begin to fade a little bit. Sometimes they get overmatched by the competition. But that hasn't happened with Elliot Ramos has it. No, no, not at all. And he certainly has been quite the fun storyline to watch so far this spring. Ramos with two home runs against the Reds last Sunday and then just a moon shot on Tuesday against the Brewers and Mary Veil. Has he opened your eyes at all? Has he changed your perspective on what his timeline might be to get to the major leagues and help this giant club with what he's done this spring, Katie That's a great question, Carrie and you know, I think when we think back to 2020 and the loss of the minor league season and all of the kind of questions that were circulating around, you know every minor leaguer but especially the top prospects. We focused a lot on how this is going to hinder their development, or you know what was going to happen, and how are they were going to maybe be delayed from their expected time of arrival. We don't talk enough about how in certain cases that time of the alternate site and then fall instructs actually can expedite their careers, And that's certainly the case for Rama's here. I mean, this guy is coming out here again. You imagine it's too Homer day against the rest had absolute Moonshine on Mary Veil against the Brewers. It's his first big league campus 21 years old. There's all sure he's only played 25 games and double a But when you look at him now, this is absolutely someone who is clearly taking advantage of his time working with, you know the Giants, Major League staff and working with Kyle Haynes, the director of player development there at the alternate site last year. And has signed with it, and it would not be surprising if we see Rama's kind of come up before the September call update that is normally projected with these prospects. If he keeps playing like this, and you know, I know the minor league season is a little bit. Where a little bit. I'm sure what that will look like right now. But I think just going off of what he looked like this spring. This is someone that the Giants could really count on. Depending on how their outfield looks like, come the all Star break or the second half of the season. Really? No question. And there's some, sir, there's some uncertainties and center field. What that will look like. And Roberts, aside from the home runs has just had some really solid swings this week. Katie two singles on Friday and then he's also stolen a few bases. It's not just the power that Giants fan should be excited about. He really seems like and you can correct me if I'm wrong, But he really seems like an all around player. Who can help the Giants in a variety of ways, not just in the middle of this lineup. Absolutely, And I know we talked about this before. But it's been so long since the Giants have really had a home grown out field that has really just been exciting from the get and Ramos is, is certainly getting more exciting. By the day you mentioned his power. He has this elite combination of both that speed and strength and you can barrel the ball in all directions, And that's that's kind of what Get some notice What what gets input on people's radar. His speed, however, and I know he's getting a little bit. He's aging. It kind of development more into his, his full body and what he was like, you know, Grown man. Strength is what we call it. Speed is that it's staying with him, and I think that's noticeable to right Now. He profiles exactly what the Giants are looking for. And that, you know, he can play multiple positions. And, yes, there is some questions coming into center field. You and there is some questions regarding the fourth outfield spot, you know. With Duggar. Jalen Davis Way, junior. If none of those pan out it would make sense to kind of look forward to the future and say, Hey, this is a guy. Yes, yes, Power and yes, that's exciting. But he can really kind of do it all. And we should give him a shot because you know, there's no kind of sense and just Sheldon your top prospects if they can contribute to the ball club this season, and that's certainly what I think the question the Giants have right now in the spring is, you know Will he be able to contribute this season and it's looking like he will. Talking Giants prospects with Katie Woo of NBC Sports Bay Area. She does a great job covering everything for NBC sports. Katie, another position player. I want to get too. He had a big moment this week against the Angels in Tempe. It's Will Wilson, first round pick of the Angels in 2019 and Gabe Kapler. Given interesting comparison for, Wilson said he kind of reminds him at least from a batter's perspective of Donovan Solano with just the way he's able to get the barrel on the ball. What can you tell fans about Wilson as a hitter? And then what does he do in the field that Giants fans to be excited about? That's a great comparison. That's actually not one that I've heard before. But that certainly makes sense that will Wilson again. I know the Giants. As we know. Last year they were considering taking him in the 2019 draft. Before I left. You tol a Connor bishop, and as things work out, they got him anyway at the trade deadline. Like Wilson, because you know he's again. He's a young guy. He's had very limited minor league experience. But he has a lot of potential for kind of an under the radar power you have. You know, he has solid power, but it's not something that you kind of really expect from a middle infielder. He has a very kind of aggressive approach, and I'm kind of interested to see how the Giants play off that and kind of developed him. Maura's a hitter. I like him again because of the versatility that the giant seemed to love. He can play both sides of the bag. It's second base or shortstop that fits in well with what the Giants like What Lady likes what Harris likes They like those guys back, they can slot in multiple positions. I have that versatility. They can play the fate that play the national play The split. Wilson fits that prototype. He definitely needs a little bit more development. But I think this is someone that is quietly rising up the radar in the Giants organization, just based on the kind of athlete that the giant tent Oh, portray and tend to choose when they thought in their lineup each day. I sent Marty Larry a text earlier this week and I said, Well, Wilson, he can hit Marty not is sold just yet, but plenty of time for him to develop a picture that I want to get to Katie. The top 30 prospect. Rankings for MLB dot com came out this week to top 40. Giants Prospect rankings for Fangraphs came out this week as well. And you did not see Sam long his name listed, but the Sacramento native Sacramento State product has turned heads in spring camp. Rough outing on Friday, but Sam Long looks like he could be an upper echelon pitching prospect for the Giants. If all goes well, what can you tell us about him? I was very surprised not to be cannot see Sam long there..

"And, of course, last year, the knot holes were closed, and the ball seemed to move a little bit more, he'll he'll. He'll talk about a little of that in the interview, but Different type of park with the knot holes closed in right field Ball took off a little bit more more home runs. But that was good for the Giants. They played very well at home last year, ate away came BR. If you want to give me a phone call, and we could talk about these Giants. Tomorrow, the Diamondbacks go to Scottsdale Stadium Logan Web back on the mound for the Giants. We got to see him pitch against the Los Angeles Dodgers on a televised game this past week. On Tuesday and threw the ball very well had a nice change of something new that he's adding to his repertoire of pitches and pitched the nice one inning struck out, Seeger. Change up. It struck out once almost like I will see him extended to winnings tomorrow against the D backs is Arizona comes to Scottsdale error for the Ah game against the Giants tomorrow. Giants won today. Wonder second game there 23 with two ties. Ah, couple things happen in this game. And, you know, we talk about spring training. The Giants loaded the bases up in the 30 against Josh. So shits. That's right. Oh, such the old giant And of course, he maxed out at 26 pitches, so they closed the inning down and sure enough, giants left three men on and couldn't do anything about it. They had scored a run in a 26 pitches left three on with only two outs. These are things that you just got to manufacture through the game. And then it happened really in the seventh inning when Sam Wolfe got in trouble, But instead of disclosing the inning town, Gabe Kapler what to Sam long and got out of it and a stressful inning with bases loaded and two outs and these are things that I think need to be looked at as we progress March 14th. Is the date when all the games will go into nine innings today was eight innings yesterday was nine innings. They're going to start amping that up. Of course, all the different rules will start taking place with the reliever hasn't faced three hitters and, most likely you won't go into extra innings and of course, the runner on second still prevails. In an extra inning game. And the only thing that's going to be changed during the season in the National League is the D H. There's no D H International League this year and, of course extended playoffs That's still up in the air that still has not been decided quite yet. But right now areas no extended playoffs. Like I said, eight away can be argued on phone lines. Let's talk some Giants baseball today was just a great game. From the first pitch. The last pitch. The Giants really mash the ball 14 hits today. Lamont Way junior playing first base today, something different that he did. He's usually a corner outfielders plates, Um, center field, but he made a couple nice place today, one for nine coming into the game today, and he hit his first home running mash the ball out to right field. Ball down and in and he didn't miss it, and he'll laser out to right field for hers, his first home run. Kirk to Sally finally get in the game. He went over to Joey Barton talked about him. You went two for three. Just a nice game. Wilmer Flores again. They're trying to pitch him inside. He took it down the left field line for a double. He went one for two. Alcantara came in. Got a nice double to right field. He went one for two. Darren Rough at a nice easy day today went one for three with an infield hit. And then you start looking at some of the guys that we like Jason Vossler. He's the one that I really keeping an eye on eight for 16 so far after today, Marie CEO Du Bon. He had a nice game today, one for two at a base it on a walk, stolen bag. And then he Leo Ray most. What can you say about him, too? For 42 home runs today. Stephen Duggar got to place him. I'll fill it A He had a home run. He went one for three. And then you know, we gotta talk about 100 Bishop under Bishop came in for Darren Rough. Get a nice double down the right field line got his first hit for spring training as well as an R B. I will. Wilson got to place him shortstop today and Luciano got his first hit. 1st 10 spring training he came in after Will Wilson got his first hit for spring and the Giants ended up getting 14 hits on the day. Nine runs. 14 hits just a good day. Like I said they only had four home runs in the first six games, McCarthy, rough floors and Solano Today they end up getting five home runs Ray most to Duggar one. Wait Junior one. And Joey Barton. So good around baseball. Good baseball today. Yesterday they played a pretty good game ended up losing that game to Kansas City. But again, you know these air all spring training games. This is our second weekend cover room. They only started last Sunday. So when you're you're talking a week already. And you're starting to see some guy's name starting to come out from the trenches. You know, Sam, Long's that guy, and then you start looking at Ah, guy named Zach a little who Frank came from the Minnesota Twins. And you start looking at bull pit arms. And, of course, yesterday, the giant sign Jose Alvarez, a left hander who pitched for Philadelphia in Miami, and he got a big league contract, so he's gonna be on that opening roster, and he'll be in giant uniformed this week. So a lot of things move and shaken a lot of new names that we need to look at, and we'll be here every weekend talking about it. We'll be talking, you know to some other players is the as the season progresses. Today. Austin Slater got a great interview with him talking baseball and talking about his injuries. Of course, he's got a slight hamstring. He hasn't played yet. He'll be in the season this week, he'll start getting some reps. In spring training, and also last year he had a little problem with his right elbow. He had some, uh, some rehab on that He feels a lot better with that now as well. We start working him into the Outfield positions. His speed is such a dynamic plus and he loves leading off. And of course, we saw that last year in the leadoff position for him, so Good stuff from Austin Slater will be here in added four o'clock We're gonna take a quick break here ate away can be our Let's get to the phone lines and and get this show rolling. I want to hear giant fans. Are you excited about this young talent? Because I am a Helio Ramos is open my eyes with his bath. Today's play some great defense. And you know what these other players there's a ton of them and a lot of these young arms so we'll get back to that Ate away can be argued on the phones. Give me a call We are on can be our right now. One of 45 FM 6 80 m the sports later it will be right back. On the mound to the mike. "The count to him right handed hitter against the lefty Peralta. I've slowed chop toward short, coming over from third and booting the ball is Will Wilson So with and which puts some pressure on a third baseman on a play like that, because he's fast. And you might have taken his eye off the ball toe. See just how much time he was gonna have to make the play, and then he was not able to pick the ball up. Everything they tell us about. Will Wilson. Is Aziz about a steady defensively? If you're going to get So here's Andrew Benn in 10, D. Left handed hitter against the lefty in the slider is high. The ball one. One ball. No strike Giant six. Royals, too, were in the sixth inning here. In Scottsdale, now big swing and a foul tip. It is off the edge of the glove of Trump and then rolls through his legs back behind the Empire. One ball one strike. We don't ever have seen a lot of been attended, but he's got a beautiful swing. Get speed, and he hits with power. Besides that, Excellent outfielder. Kicking a sort of first diving back to the bag is Wit or John Throw to first back safely. Right. You are herb. Now the pitch Oh, I drive down the left field line slicing toward the corner, and that's gonna fall in there and roll all the way to the wall near the bullpen. Vossler gives Chase racing around to third with heading home. He'll score all the way from first base on.

"Well, a pleasure to bring in Carrie Crowley, who covers the Giants for the San Jose Mercury News. And, of course, is their regular on so many shows now on KNBR. And, of course, the regular with us as well. On Saturday and Sunday, Carrie. Why yet, Marty, I'm doing so well always love talking baseball with you and Bill and That song. It reminds me of the middle of summer, even though it's still just march. It feels like we're we're approaching baseball season and the Mosaic is getting underway. We're ready to go here in Scottsdale. I could see a parent's dancing to that music. I could see that right? That's quite an image. Marty. Hey, Bill and I have been talking about a million things here, but Let's go back to last night, and I'd like to get your impression of new unions because he did some amazing stuff. Last night, Tropeano was another one. Wilson, another one and curving Castro that perfectly named guy, So give me something a little bit on those guys. I'll start with new unions, and last night he came in in Peoria was immediately up against the heart of the Padres order was up against for NATO Taht East Jr and Manny Machado, and they kind of thrown to the Wolves wanted to see what the rule five draft pick. Do Marty and what they did was, you know, they called a lot of fastballs early, the Padres beat up on it. Todd T singled in right field, Machado double to left field. And then all of a sudden new Nya started throwing this wipe out slider that Curt Casali, the Giants catcher said was really ridiculous Pitch and so from that point forward, he dominated, he struck out. Tommy Pham struck out. Wil Myers was really impressive. But the guy who really caught my eye pitch in the eighth inning last night, and that was Caribbean Castro. Venezuela native who was a starter at Salem, Keizer in 2019, that short season rookie ball. And then he came out just firing darts in the late innings 97 wipe out curveball. They've really got something with these two guys and Bill. I know you've been so focused on the relief pitchers and how the Giants are putting things together. I think you got consider these guys opening day roster candidates. Oh, no doubt about it, Carrie and as we progress through the month of March, I think Marty and I hit a little bit. How high good velocity. Are these guys going to be able to bring it A swell is they're breaking Ball, But you got some young arms. They're just opening eyes. Um, on the dugout, but first of all, Carrie, I want to congratulate you could receive an honor earlier this week from the A. P s the writers association and I want to congratulate you on that honor and tell me a little bit more about it. Well, thank you so much Bill. It surprised me. When I was honored. It was a PSE Associated Press sports Editors. They honor beat writers across the country across all sports, and I was very fortunate to be Recognized for my Giants coverage and 2020. And as both of you know, 2020 a really challenging season for access. We weren't able to do our normal interviews. You weren't able to do things in person. So I was very grateful to all the people who answered my phone calls last year, because that's what it took to get those stories written. So I'm very appreciative of being honored. And so many of my sports writing heroes were recognized as well. So thank you, Bill for bringing that up. I really do appreciate it. But congratulations and Susan Slusser and and Killian from the Chronicle got awards as well. Of course. Susan covers the Giants this year for the Chronicle. Yeah. Yeah, that too. My favorite writers, incredible talents and you know, so to see them on the same list that I was. They were on the big the big paper circulation. The Mercury News is mid sized paper so not quite the same level of honor that they got, but still really fun. Really fun. Very good. Hey, one other one I want to touch on was Wilson because they don't really have a backup shortstop. I think Do bonds got to stay in one spot? I've said this 50 times already. On Blue Asciano obviously is learning but will Wilson, North Carolina state. They got him from the Angels. He was an Angels first round pick. They really bought him from the Angels. We really didn't see him last year. He was hidden in Sacramento. What do you see it with this kid? Ever since he came to summer camp last summer, Marty, an Oracle park. I've just been amazing his ability to pull the baseball and drive the baseball, you know, he's a shorter guy, not quite a Dustin Pedroia frame, but he's not far from it, playing 2nd and 3rd base for the Giants, and they think that he can also play some shortstop there, of course, going to continue to move him around the infield, but last night ripped a single into left field off Drew Pomeranz, who's very deceptive, Tough to pick up. For young hitters, and then he sent a pitch to the left center field wall that jerks and pro far actually robbed him of extra bases on and he just puts consistent, good barrels on the baseball. And so the Giants were You know, he's not a top 100. Prospects to the Giants were criticized a little bit for spending so much when they did in the 2019 winter meetings to get Will Wilson, but it's very easy to see when you watch him swing the bat. He likes that what they like in him and Marty. You know, when he swings the bat, I want to pick up my phone and text you will wilson dot dot dot he can hit. That's a bingo card. You know, that way. Did it Last night with Darren Rough. We did it right. I saw Darren Rough. Take two swings and Peoria opened up my phone and said Marty, Darren Rough the head. Hey, Carrie. I want to I want to come back to the pitching side and somebody that I was very excited to see you came to spring training was Reyes Maranto. But all of a sudden now I think he might be a little doghouse right now. They didn't really like. How is conditioning came into camp, and he's not throwing a ball of Sharper's. We were hoping at this time. Tell us your thoughts about race, Murata Bill. I was right there with you. I was really looking forward to see Reyes Meron to throw the ball this spring. He's someone who missed the entire 2020 season due to that shoulder surgery After the gruesome injury, he separated Oracle Park back in 2019. So ah, lot of buzz around a guy who's had three major league seasons with sub three E R A's, but we haven't seen him yet and gave, Kappler said yesterday when he was asked about race Meron to And Scott Kazmir in the same breath..

"My from Scottsdale Stadium. Just wind up. Here's the pitch. Hay struck it out. This is talking baseball with Marty Laurie, Bill Lasky and carry Crowley on these sports leader. Hello. Everybody Welcome the Cactus League Baseball. Today. The Giants are in Scottsdale, and they take on the Kansas City Royals. It will be the spring debut of Johnny Cueto. So that's something that we're absolutely looking forward to. Giants record now one win two losses and two ties so far in the first week of the season, the pitcher's air well ahead of the hitters and we're going to talk to Bill Lasky. About that today and carry Crowley. We've got a real good show for you. A lot of good baseball information from Arizona. Last night, the Padres paste of the Giants 9 to 3 and the Giants had a couple of bright spots last night. One is Darren rough, We're gonna talk about him. There is a spot on this team for him. Believe me, curving Castro. Gabe Kapler was very, very positive about Castro, the young relief pitcher who's throwing 97. We'll talk to bill about this, too. It is only the first week of March and everybody is throwing 97. The hitters really are being overwhelmed. Will Wilson for the Giants last night had a good game. Nick Tropeano had a good game for the relief staff last night and the Giants ended up losing to the Padres 931 name. I want to bring up for the Padres. We've heard so much about Blake Snell. We've heard about you, Darvish. Denilson limit and you know the host of relievers The Padre Padres have Joe must grow feast. Anelka hone They got him from the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is an outstanding outstanding young pitcher. So that is someone watching. He pitched last night, a couple of innings against the San Francisco Giants and really look very good. Fans are coming back to the ballpark. We're going to talk about that a lot today. Hopefully, giant stay in the right ear and move up to the next year. And that opening day we're gonna have fans in the ballpark..

"This week on Lee, so absolutely, check it out. But joining us now I've got a list of about 30 questions. I know Carrie does, too. And that is Scott Harris, the general manager of the San Francisco Giants. Scott, How are you? Hey, Carrie, Marty. Thanks for having me on great talking with you guys. Now we love having you on and I'm going to give you an easy one first, and you got into baseball at a young age. Why baseball? And how did How did that happen to get you in Well, the easy answer to why baseball is I was just a huge fan growing up by love going to the stick to watch the Giants play I loved consuming as much baseball is possible on TV and Was always just very intrigued by the game within the game. When you're when you're watching Thies guys play at such a high level. I love the cat and mouse game between the pitcher and the hitter, and I love the end game strategy. At the manager was was always my beloved as he was, you know, giving signs out toe the runners and, um Making sure that he was always a step ahead of the opposing manager. So just really fell in love with it at at a young age, and I'm very fortunate to be able to work in it full time now. Scott. If Marty's the softball guy, I'm the spin rate guy. Here comes the big time questions. I want to start with the your biggest offseason acquisition. And that's Tommy. Let Stella kind of went against the grain of the industry trend of giving AH longer term contract to someone in his thirties. What made you guys comfortable giving three years to Tommy Lost l A and and the guy who predictably be in your infield for the next few seasons. Yeah. Um, you know, First of all, I just talked to Tommy on the field on He showed up in excellent shape, and it was great to reconnect with him as a zoo. Many of you know, I spent many years with him in Chicago, and I was just always very impressed by his aptitude and contact skills. He brings a very sophisticated, competitive approach to every at bat. He knows himself as well as any hitter I've ever been around on. He has some sneaky pop. And I'm just really looking forward to watching him not only perform on DCA Pete for every pitch in the box, but also to teach our young hitters how to become an incredibly tough out at the major league level. You know, I think he has mastered that over the years on bees always been open minded to continue to adapt to the way the game is going. And so you know, we just had really high confidence in the approach and the human and it was pretty easy decision Tol to give him multiyear deal and bring them to San Francisco. And you know, first on his players trying to figure out where to live. That's what we're talking about today out on the field, and fortunately in the very air you got a ton of great options, so he's really excited toe jump in and be a joyful time. Scott Harris, the general manager of the Giants, joins us got Let me follow up on that one before I ask you my next question. That is, where do you see him hitting in the lineup? Well, that's an easy question, because I can just deflect Theo Cap you know, cap is one of my favorite traits about cap is when we're talking about acquiring a hitter, especially in the off season. We often text each other about the qualities that we value in each hitter. And before we even get through our evaluation of the hitter cap has already sent us a line up. And exactly where he would hit home against right hand pitching a left handed pitching, and so he sent a bunch of lineups with Tommy and I think, fortunately with Tommy skills, said he could hit anywhere in the lineup. I think he fits pretty well up towards the top of the lineup because, you know, I think he's gonna be on base of time this year. I'll leave the specific answer that question to cap when you guys have gone. No, I agree with you on that. Well, I wrote down 29 nonroster pictures and all of a sudden I'm looking on trade rumors and shoot Susan Slusser. The Chronicle has got you signing Shun Yamaguchi 33 year old right hander there was with Toronto last year that they released is that is that the latest one Unfortunately, I can't talk about any any player that we've signed who hasn't completed his physical yet? So I'm going to decline to answer that, unfortunately, apologize that that's all right. We'll read about it on the Internet, but it put you up to allegedly 30. So why so many nonroster pictures? I mean, your minor leagues has some pictures. You've got some veterans in the stars. What are you going to do with 29 nonroster pictures? Yeah, I will tell you that. We have spent countless hours thinking about how to approach the 2021 season. I think we find ourselves in uncharted, uncharted territory right now, because we've never really had a season. In which you know so many pictures are coming off years in which they pitch fewer innings and they're accustomed to so I don't think we fully understand the impact of the reduced innings totals of the 2020 season on the 2021 season yet So one priority for us this winter was to build as much depth and upside in our pitching staff as possible to bring as many guys that we like as possible to camp because we know that we're going to need all of them. We're going to need as many guys as possible. If if you know, one of our pitchers gets nicked up or Or if there's a decline in the quality their stuff. We want to make sure that we're in a position to give that picture you an extra day between starts or or a blow when he needs it to make sure that they can endure the full grind of 162 game season. Got another thing that you guys have never dealt with. And Major League Baseball's never dealt with this the cancelation of a full minor league season and so you were able to get some of your top prospects work at the alternate site in an instructional league in Arizona last year, but a number of the really young, exciting, entertaining and promising prospects in your system or in major league camp this spring, and I'm curious. What kind of a look do you expect to give some of the upper miners guys like Elliot Ramos and Sean Jelly during these Cactus League games? First and foremost, the cancelation of the mileage season. Last year was really tough blow to a bunch of our young players who embody the future of this organization, you know. We We really value the reps that they get in the minor league level to affect their development, moving forward, and it's a shame that they weren't able to complete that development in 2020, so one of the things that we've been trying to do is give him a much opportunity is possible to make up for those wraps. Whether it's at The alternate side in 2020 or instructs in 2020 or now here in Big Lake camp, So it's really important for us to bring them here for for the development reps but also to Him around. Guys like Buster, get him around guys like Craun and belt and Cueto and some of the veterans here that we know can can teach them, you know, valuable lessons that will help them assimilate to the big leagues quickly. We're going to definitely get them into in game action, allow them to compete against big leaguers from other organizations. But we also value the opportunity to work with our big league coaches. We know that once opening day hits are Billy Coaches will be singularly focused on our major league team and won't have the opportunity to work with some of our young players. So getting a guy like Will Wilson. In camp and giving him the ability to work with the hitting group is really important. Ramos and Jelly as you mentioned, we know that they can. They can learn a lot from our are majorly coaches and from cap and so trying to get them attached to our Major league players and coaches. Hips is a huge priority for us this spring. Got last year. You didn't have any real games. Of course you have the alternate site and the minor league season is Carrie said was was canceled. So what do you look for in a picture? Because when I look on, you know, on this signings for you guys, It's always his walk rate Is this a strikeout rate is this Spin rate. Is this because you signed a ton of guys who really didn't play last year or coming back from injuries. So what are the criteria that you look for? Yeah. I mean, I think you hit on one of them. Um, strike throwing is a huge priority for us. When we evaluate pictures. We want to make sure that they can command the baseball where they intend to command it. Uh, and also that they could miss bats in the zone. I think that is. Those are two qualities that many of the pictures that we brought into camp this year have also, I will say that one, um Uh, theme in this organization that really energizes me is that we are focusing on on major league development and adjustments win a player enters this organization. You know when you when you look at a player and you value him the easiest way to project his future performances just flip over the baseball card. Look at what he did last year and the year before and project some No variant of that performance moving forward, But I think when you evaluate a player and you evaluate a possible adjustment that he can make moving forward.

"Afternoon and welcome or welcome back to Westwood one's coverage of Super Bowl 55, the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The long road that led us here with many unique twists and turns is a story unto itself. Now, in about 3.5 hours, the game which promises history, the chief's looking to become the ninth team with back to back titles. The Bucks hoping to put 1/7 Super Bowl ring on Tom Brady's hand. I'm Scott Graham. Happy to be back with your four Super Bowl Sunday, and my co host is a man who won two Super Bowls back to back, including an M V P honor for Super Bowl 32. He's an NFL network in Westwood, one analyst, the Hall of Famer, and he's been with us each week on this program all season long. Well, Davis. Welcome aboard. Scott. Man, It is eyes exciting and getting ready for this big game. A man I'll tell you what. When you look at how this one is going to play out, everybody is focusing on the quarterback's rightfully so. But when you start looking at a couple of the individual matchups in this game, there is a lot that ends up coming into play. And one of the things that everybody's been focusing on all week is the fact that the chief's dinged up on the offensive line going with backups there against a really strong past Russian. It Defense for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That seems at least right now to be one that's playing at its peak. Is that the key matchup in your mind? Well, that is one of them. I mean, we look at the Bucks defense and we've seen what they looked like the last couple of weeks and listen. Todd Bowles, Their defensive coordinator, has really got them dialed in. They've gotten after, and Rogers drew Brees and, you know, I think this defense is going to be, you know, formidable when it comes to getting after Patrick Mahomes, but You know, he's such a great quarterback. He's such a guy that can get out of situations that you don't think he could get out off s. Oh, that's gonna be a challenge for this team as well. When you look at it, and from your perspective, especially, I mean a running back a hall of Fame running back and very rarely these days is anybody say, Well, the running game is going to be a really big part of this. It seems like that's becoming an antiquated idea. Can the running game for the chief's help in some way, take away some of the aggressiveness of the Tampa Bay defense? Yeah, I believe so, Scott, because you know all the focus of this game really is gonna be on the chief's weapons, right? You know, you got obviously Tyree Kill Travis Kelsey. Then you have the other guys out there to me, Cole Harmon. And then you have Clyde. That was the lair who last year was an El s. You had a phenomenal national championship game, and I think a game like this is going to bode well for him, because if you're tired of those, you can't double team everybody. Somebody's got to have one on ones. And if you're the bucks, you've got to put more people in coverage. So that's gonna leave a light box for Clyde Edwards. He layer not only running but the short passing game, and I think that Eric the enemy, and Anne Rie will find a way to make this young man have an impact in a game like this. On the other side. Everybody, of course, is focusing on Tom Brady. I mean, he got them here, and he is once again right in the middle of the possibility of winning a super books. 10th visited pressure absurd, absurd. When you look at this team, they've got a whole bunch of weapons as well. Is there one that you focus on the offensive side of the ball for Tampa Bay? That you think might have a bigger impact in this game than another? I do. I think it's actually Leonard for net and not necessarily in the running game. But little has been Really good and their passing game, And I think that kind of matchup between Leonard for Net and the linebacker Damian Will Wilson and Anthony Hitchens from the chief's, because when you start doing that thing where they played in week, 12 Barnett had a decent game, but Ronald Jones caught the ball in the flat and was able to have a long touchdown score from that ball that was thrown into the flat. So no one is talking about that. But I think that again, Hitchens and Wilson is gonna have to have a really good game and not again. It's not with him running with the football. He's been a threat as a receiver, which is something that his game is never had. So I think, you know, Of course. Tom Brady likes to get his backs involved in games like this member James White. He had a phenomenal Super Bowl. So I think later for now is gonna be a guy that's gonna have to have a huge impact. Last thing for this segment does the first meeting have any impact on what we're about to see in a few hours here or is that just research? Yeah, I think you could take some things. Most coaches look at the game and they kind of take The things that sort of worked, you know, everything goes. She kind of just you pick things of a game and say Okay, well, we have success against his team before. You know, we'll try to do it again this time, but maybe we're gonna disguise it a little differently, but run the same kind of plays. So, yeah, I think you there's things that each team can take from that meeting. But, you know, I think it's about who can make those adjustments and going into this game. I think ultimately it's going to be the team that comes out on top. Driver, Mercedes Benz van and find out how far an extra mile really goes from customization and service to financial assistance. Mercedes Benz vans are ready for anything that's t D..

Mike, his trips He playing incredible ball. Longoria settling in right middle of the order presence. Just, you know, scatter in a Slater in a dick, you know, just kind of coming up with Big Knox here and there. And then Here comes Joey Barton. And you know whether we want to talk about how long it took to call him up or what I mean copes. As you said to a text earlier today. It's pretty obvious that it was for service time, right? Super too. I think we all know that now. Yeah, Yeah. Which might you know you might wantto still may be worthy to criticize them for that, but it's working out. He seems to be mentally ready. Toby, where he's at. I mean, I'm only saying that after four games, right? And then we gotta look at the pitching. Okay. He signs Kevin Gausman were like I'm making. I'm gonna make an expensive lunch pets. That Bumgarner's gonna have it better. You think husband. I'm already now. I'm saving for that lunch right now. You know, I mean, right, right. I'm socking away. 20 bucks a week for that lunch on DSO. That's signing looks just absolutely brilliant. Right? Gausman Hey, keeps Cueto, Cueto's and Bionic new arm. He looks amazing, right? You throw in Logan Web Now That's a draft pick in that Bobby Evans era. Okay, And he's this kid's coming along. And then you throw in with Tyler Freaking Anderson. He didn't the Rockies wave him copes, Didn't they wave? I thought the judge was grabbed him because he was He had been injured a bunch and I think he only pitch like one or two full seasons up to this year for and got him off the scrapheap yet I mean, he went into the dumpster and pulled out a gun guy throws a complete game on Saturday night was awesome. So I mean, yeah, it's been a mixed bag, but right now Right now. It's time to get on that crazy train, buddy. It and you know, you still think. Wow, The best is yet to come. Because here comes Ramos. Here comes Luciano. Here comes Will Wilson with his look here comes you know, I don't know. Hopefully 100 Bishop one day, but I haven't heard much about him after the covert test, you know? And then the kid they drafted out of Dale a salad. Kyle Harrison kid, you know, sounds like he's pretty promising, you know, And you know the future starting to take shape. You can kind of see it coming into focus here right in front of us. So Yeah, right. O Lord, everybody on board.

But I would say just if you want to riff because that's what we do on a Friday you brought you brought You brought 13 coaches right to Scottsdale and Summer Kit. 13 coaches. What I saw last night was A team that that was not well coached us and plus now is taking up on some of the capital nuances. Dude, like when Kapler walks to the mound first off like, Dude, I can sense or at least I was last night. I get it like you, said, Murph. Tough night. Bad law. So it just was a bad giant tonight, but like capital walking in the mountains, I can like detect some anger that he starts rubbing the ball opening reflected his gun 20 when he rubs the ball duties. No. Tonight, I was seriously a stymied. I think I think you got it. I think that's it because he's appointed as coach wanted. There's gingers. And then there's blazing. Jim. I think, although I used was the fire Emojis, there's gingers. Tonight at Oracle Park. Neither will be played in front of fans because that's the way it's going this year. Major League baseball the Giants, of course, their final tuneup before they get things rolling for real Johnny Cueto against Clayton Kershaw Thursday night at Dodger Stadium to kick off a 60 games scheduled that we've played in 66 games. Now, tonight we get Tyler Rogers starting for the Giants, Will he? How long will we go? He's a relief pitcher. Eyes. This Gabe Kapler starting with the opener. Will Rogers getting extended start? We'll find out now. Last night we saw Gabe used nine different pitchers in nine innings. Theeighties will counter with Mike fires. The veteran Who was so good for Oakland and yet faded a little bit a ce faras, his durability down the stretch on Ly going past the sixth inning, one time in his final eight starts. The Giants By the way, went 99 into in the Arizona portion of spring training that was shut down March 13th due to the Cove in 19 pandemic that saw the cancellation of the final 13. But the Giants taxi squad It's a 30 man roster to start the year, which will eventually be cut down to 26. There's 60 men on the Giants full roster, so the final 30 guys will be sent to Sacramento for workouts and scrimmages. Giants 60 man roster does include this year nine of their top 13 prospects on the roster this year.
