"I i don't even know if i'd seen any of that increment i remember i remember. Had james marsden and kristen wig or it was like a new new crop of also funny. Yeah yeah yeah. I have never seen her bantu and i need to. I need to see it really. Do i just so many people told me it was such a letdown. That i didn't want it to ruin it for me. I just have such high regard for anchorman. That i was like man. I don't want the second one to do anything to the original. So i say snarf. Talk news team assemble. We should have that as a segment every week. We should say snarf talk news. Tomb awesome movie. So that's it. That's our top ten I guess let us know what you think if yeah for wrong for idiots or if you have one that is different like close to the top like how i have stranger than fiction chris. I knew wasn't gonna have that anywhere close to the top because he's just not as well versed in most movies as i am. That's chom and some you guys might have something like that as well that we don't know about and we want to hear it so they might have melinda and melinda. I saw that on these lists. And i don't know what that was i've never heard of it. Never remember it coming out. But i don't remember anything about it or whatever i don't know any. It was really interesting when we were doing. The adam sandler list we talked about doing this one. I and i thought i'll let save will ferrell because that's going to be a better more interesting list to do. Yes and and adam sandler is a more interesting list to do by far. Yeah isn't that weird yeah. I do think it's weird. Because when you think of an will ferrell you think of the biggest movie star but then you realize like really compared to adam sandler. He's not he's real aren't even close. Yeah they really are. And i compare them to them in the beginning of the show just similar like similarly wise like in the way the movies came about like you had adam sandler like just shoveling out all these movies in the nineties and coming into two thousand and then all of a sudden will ferrell did the same thing and they're all the same mindset of like goofy type comedy movie right so it was similar in that aspect. They both came from saturday night. Live and started and we'll fairly rated r. comedies. And adam sandler did. Pg thirteen comedies. Yes big but i never thought adam sandler's movies a lot of them had a little more plot driven and they definitely had more emotional resonance to them a lot of times then. A lot of wolfe's movies. I think he's taken big stretches with his career over the years. Oh yeah so. That's when you brought up jim carey. I thought. Oh that's interesting because he'd be even better to do than both of them. Yeah he would longer career a very very career. He's been way more stuff. I would imagine the reason. I thought we had done. Because of the top. Ten like nineties comedies. And i had. I had an ace venture or something on there and both of them are one of them. Something like that But he would be jim. Carrey's movies would be a very good one to do because there's so many that are good and i'm going to have a lot of comedies. Jim carey ton on. I mean i'm going to have a few but.

"Towards it and i don't know i viewed the movie a little differently than i normally would have. I don't even know how you do that. I don't understand. i don't feel like i come at it with a nostalgic view at all. I just really enjoy the movie. Like most picks that i have are a nostalgic pick like a lot of the older movies because of me being in high school and whatnot. This one is different to me. I don't know. I've just shitting good. It's a good movie movie to me and it was so different. I think it just struck me so much as being a will ferrell movie like it just blew me away that this could be a will ferrell movie and it was just. I really liked. Dustin hoffman to yeah does some hoffman's great and the fact that he's hearing this narrator in his head and he knows how he's going to die and then he doesn't spoilers. I don't know. I just thought it was really great. Yup but number one. it's so good is so portable. it's the epitome of will ferrell. If anybody tries to say otherwise come on an amazing ensemble cast anchorman. Two is good. You know what. I hate to say this. I've never seen it really. I have never went watched it. I've always heard bad things about it. And i didn't want it to make the franchise bad now. It's like the same thing though. Well that's what i've heard. It's the exact same thing and it wasn't good as the original. It's still good though but amazing catholic. Vince vaughn paul rudd. You got steve corral. Paul rudd and steve carell besides will ferrell in the movie champ to champ actual name he's in the goldbergs. What's his name. Unbeknownst to most people snarf talk translates to a wales vagina. Yeah talk about quarter movies. This might be the most quotable movie of all time. Right it is. I would screen from a mountain. Super troopers is up there as being very quotable but this is really very quotable. I mean how many people in your life has have. You heard say sixty percent of the time it works every time yeah. Everybody says that everybody quotes something from brick like a brick stabbed a guy. Hey you might want to go like a glass case of emotion. Choice all that one. I've said so many times whenever it's warm outside. I haven't many leather bound base and my apartment smells hogging. Yeah yeah there's just so many and then he plays the jazz flute. You can't love this movie. I you can't. It's it's so good this movie. Come out thousand four two thousand and four okay so this is also a nostalgic pick for me just because i left the summer of two thousand and four months of basic training and when i came back to school it was my senior year of high school and i remember going to auto.

"And it's that kind of ridiculous stuff that i think's hilarious just said pop. He also said iron. Lois which is from blades of glory. But the best part is when mark wahlberg ends up going home with will ferrell's character in meeting his wife and he's got this absolutely stunning wife like you know way out of his league so you immediately notice. He's way out of early or she's way out of his league and like how did he pull this life down. But then the way he speaks to her is out of this world. He talks down to her but he also says like gator. Don't play that this. Should he says at home is hilarious and i. That's why i have it as my number seven because it's really really funny. It's a good cop movie too and it's fun and comedy. i believe. Yeah samuel jackson and the rock. You don't get rated comedies. We used to. And i forgot that it was rated r. I thought that this was more of like a pg pg thirteen type movie showed it to your kids. While i started watching it with the kids in the room. I was like boys. This grady was definitely. I was like this is hilarious movie. We need to start watching it. And i turned it on and i didn't make it. Maybe ten minutes in the movie and i was like oh we stop this one because it gets pretty raunchy pretty quick. You know it's weird ought completely off topic but that happened to me the other day with transformers. So we we casually in the transformers at universal. We're like let's watch the movie and it's pg thirteen and we'd yeah. I never read you thirteen for any thing. There is a couple scenes that were extremely uncomfortable and really transformers to watch with your kid. I don't remember well first of all like everything with megan fox. Chronic Disengagement - Changing the World for the Better
"About education So no judge is is is is a breath of fresh air really for everyone who is vaguely or deeply concerned With young children and young people whether the five ten fifteen twenty five who've become do fractured away from the education. Second situa- that it's developed into a thing that chronic so we look in children have become long-term disengagement the education system not just the sector but the system that is an incredibly rich system for children so much growing takes place in an education is also this movement of fresh air for everyone but it's a movement of like minded professionals who believe in the power of conductivity and that we should be professionally approximately set of professionally distance from those guys. So for example. I was not long ago on a very permanent city. In the midland's An assault with his family in the middle of this particular neighborhood I can see a tree. I didn't say grass. I walked into the house. Does were that mocks of people punching it assault and the smell was wasn't so welcoming to my particular perspective what a soul was complete broken So that's what we call professional proximity we sit with it with smell it with. We live with it. We create that empathy -education where we can. We can try as much as we can. As much as we were able to. Rio moved. incon- eight without particular thing and from that particular grassroots point. Using whatever it is that we do the technicalities which everybody's jonah anyway. Things like sessions blondes. But he stopped particular emphasis on. We've got to embrace it as as our own. it's all very well being saudi. Now kind of nice clean education offices or whatever it is but it's for notification is is. It's all about bhavan the people out there. Where amasses creating that connective conductivity with young people and their families and then the professional proximity to the den gives gives us an indication that what it is that will take for repair every so often often what he takes us a really kind hearts open mind aunt And a comfortable shoulder. Really official in plano so Yes breath of fresh air which also a movement of like minded professionals from the these as from from from this sometimes over this coach for all the way through to the south coast catch to brighton to cluster to you know so and everywhere else in between is fascinating and it is taking shape. It's it's it's running it's rainy. It's running wild all we need to do is to run with it. control it. So i'd said how long has not been in existence diego. Give us a sense of this cut. So i started no jr education out of particular frustration with the way that we will look in after the most vulnerable. So let me rephrase it. I i starts notification about five years ago and i was a single practitioner. Those make and i saw that. I had a bit of a knack to engaging with those couldn't necessarily engage with anybody else. I didn't know what it was about my practice. That was effective. Now do with help of others. We've unpack no just my just but what it is about the informed my practice it previous experiences and so when offered our networks this boy and middlesbrough five years ago. It's called him. Bob for now. And bob was was was described. Is we re all tall environment. So when you when you met with our kind of description you expect that kind of behavior you don't you had to put myself in any shoes and thinking. actually what's the story. The story daddy's boy who observed high levels of violence at home from from day one. It was the only child three. Who's taken out of was taken into care it'd been three different guy placements Exposed to all kinds of caribbean sexual events. Aunt child that needs to be to us to have to fight his sister for a biscuit which was a form of entertainment for darden and as friends towards the two of them fight. Anyway i saw. That isn't so the boy whose federal and nobody can engage with us. That's not the boy that i'm thinking about. I'm thinking about the boards that is broken and craving has not known love yet of potentially is not had fun of free play or whatever it is autonomy not process or actually states is boy gets is one. It's a really low on the main on states but when you pass around like you do as a child and of course for the sake of safety sometimes within limit within the limits of human capacity in patients of course people can't send me something but for that boy it was it was hard life was life wasn't worth living

"And I get the a P alert that Alex Trebek had passed away. Hey, lost his fight against cancer. And what a life though I watched the 2020 special lesson, Did you? How was it? Yes. Oh, so good. Michael Strahan interviewed him recently. And he was already getting up on his roof and like snow, blowing the leaves off and stuff. I mean, he was still very active. He hosted his last jeopardy game just less than two weeks ago. Oh, my goodness. Yes, it is working, but I didn't realize this about him. And maybe this was common knowledge. Just how charitable he waas how much he gave back and how he decided to write a book because he wanted that advance money to give to the charity Is he already supported and new Cherries? That kind of came into his consciousness and he was just A very generous man and to hear the stories about that was pretty cool. All right. Here's a little bit of that interview Lex from last night's 2020. Alex talking about charity and laughter. What do you want? Your legacy to be? A nice man helped people through hiss charity work. Was kind to everybody encounter, you know, Enjoy life. Make somebody laugh. I believe laughter is one of the greatest cures. That we can possibly have. It's right up there with prayer. Believe me, it is. I think it really is. You know, they're he's a even a 36 years. He's 36 years. What's crazy? I mean, even though he's Canadian, you know Alex. Alex is one of those pop culture icons. You know, he really is. He's one of those he's He's in the fabric of Americana. I mean, your other than maybe prices right and well, I think there's a trifecta there. When you look at game shows You in jeopardy is is just classic American culture and and the success of that show, I think can be summed up by the format. And host. I think jeopardy is Alex Trebek and Alex Trebek is jeopardy and it's going to be very interesting to see what the next chapter of that show was like. Um Because you know the old saying and and Shobha everybody's replaceable but showing the line but my goodness that's going to be those are big shoes to fill. I would not write down. I would not want to be The producers of that show. It's crazy. Um, speaking of the show, Lex, I know you saw this on 2020. Here's the story of him getting the job on jeopardy. This is you know. Ah Ah, This is interesting. What brought Alex Trebek to America that phone call? Alex got a call from Alan Thicke, another Canadian from Northern Ontario, well known from growing pains. Of course, he was developing a game show for NBC called Wizard of Odds. Wizard of Odds. And when it came time for him to think of a host, he merely thought of Alex Trebek. I had accumulated 16 weeks of leave at the CBC and I took a leave of absence. Ah, holiday with pay and went in audition for a show Alex audition for the job and got it. And in 1973, he moved to California to host Wizard of Odds Now here's Wiley. I first met Alex in 1973. You just knew right away. He was smart. This is a former executive producer of Jeopardy in control. He has an amazing capacity. Take it all in. I started with Wizard of Odds I did that three year they can't riding high replaced it on a Monday with so called high rollers with Alec. It was cancelled and replaced by a show called Battle stars. They kept lately for Layla, but they can't keep the host. That's funny. Yeah. And then eventually they decided to bring back jeopardy and, ah And and Alex got the job on DH then, like I said, became just a sliver of pop culture and you know that you've made in pop culture when you're spoofed on SNL. And you know, they reference that last night on the special mean he was everywhere. Here's a here's a little bit of Alex's influence on pop culture enjoyed stepping out from behind the podium. There were women here in Jeopardy. You're feeling very sleepy. Oh, I'm sorry, Peter. We were looking for King Louis. The 11th. This automotive tool is used to tighten bolts. And let's just go from soup to nuts. He has been in one of the greatest shows of all time. The Simpsons and he has made an appearance in one of the worst shows of all time. Baywatch. Did you see Who you just rescue Hey, Alex, Meet Alex. Alex Trebek from jeopardy! I don't believe this. And of course, there are the unforgettable Saturday Night Live parodies of Celebrity Jeopardy in which will Ferrell channels a deadpan Trebek Aziz mercilessly taunted by Darrell Hammond As Sean Connery. We meet again, you longer headed, tickle brained pump you Enough people often ask me. How did you feel about Sean Connery on? Have you ever met him in person? I said no, I haven't. But if I ever meet him, I'm going to get one of these. It's time for final jeopardy. And so this Wass never be afraid of poking fun at yourself self deprecating humor. Is worth its weight in gold. Alex Trebek.
Top 5 High-Concept Horror, Bad Hair, The Wolf Of Snow Hollow
"Welcome to film spotting Josh we grew up in the eighties we were blessed with a lot of things including the Golden Age of the high-concept movie but I know there are some people listening who are wondering what this phrase really means. We will certainly defined in more detail as we get into our top five here in a little bit but our producer, Sam has a good thought. If the premise of your movie is right there in the title. That's pretty much dead giveaway that it's a high concept movie snakes on a plane there. You know maybe the platonic ideal of high-concept movie, right? That's it right there. If all you gotta do is tell someone the title and they understand everything the movie is about it's probably using a high concept. Yes. Snakes on a plane maybe at times scary in its own way, not exactly a horror movie a longtime listener on twitter Charles Canzoneri was following a similar line of thinking he said invasion of the body snatchers night of the living dead. The. Those titles kind of say it all too. Don't they Josh Yeah. We'll. We'll kind of get into exactly the way you and I at least defined this, but you could make an argument for those for sure we will get to our picks here in a moment but first we did want to spend a couple of minutes on the movie that inspired the list Justin. Simians new bad hair. So yeah the bad hair of the title here is A. Bloodthirsty, we've that the star, the movie L. Lorraine's Anna She unwittingly submits to as part of plot her attempts really to get ahead at this black entertainment network sort of an MTV style network she works at this is set in nineteen, eighty nine we should say so she's been there awhile she's been overworked underpaid largely ignored and and sees a new look as perhaps a way forward. Now, Simeon directed two thousand fourteen dear white people and he created the TV spinoff to he takes the college set racial identity satire of that earlier film and amps it up here Yes. There are some really gnarly murders to this definitely counts as a horror film. He layers in some observations about assimilation and authenticity in that era late eighties, early nineties. Let's clip. Anna. Does your hair. No. We. Aren't you tired of it. All the stairs you get walk into the army lobby everyone wondering why you're here. If you went to any other floor in the tower for job interview. You wouldn't get past reception. And you know that. Sisters get fired lesson every day. have. Music people have certain expectations and my girls need to flow freely. Wonder. You want to be one of my girls. Yes. that. Is L. Lorraine's Anna with Vanessa Williams as her CEO. Zora Josh you did like Dear White People Justin Simians debut film as you mentioned in fact, nominated for a golden brick here on film spotting back in two thousand fourteen. What did you think of that? Hair I kinda loved it actually Really Yeah it's it's pretty insane and you know not a perfect film by any means in some in some ways an experiment in genre for Simeone, you can tell feeling his way and having some fun with the horror comedy elements here, but you know what? I really wished. Adam. Is that I. I mean obviously nowadays, we wish we can see anything with a full theater, but this thing really would have benefited from a very loud a very lively audience preferably like maybe around midnight something like that I think then you could get into the vibe of the film a bit more easily than say just you know watching it on Hulu at home but I still had fun with it. I think what Simeon does in terms of some of the extreme camera angles and the slow zooms there. That are a little insidious There's a great scene where Anna is at the salon getting. About to get the we've and she's kind of walking through this hallway of hair samples that is probably going to haunt my dreams. I think not only the way it's filmed but remember that old seinfeld bid about like when you find hair and things something about like if it's on our heads everyone, you know it's completely normal everyone loves it. But the minute it's removed from your head everyone freaks out that seeing like totally captured that for me So yeah, I think this works as horror I think the main performance here's pretty strong by lorraine and I think there's a lot of fun comic performances going. On along the edges here from people like Jay Ferrell Lean Awaith James Vanderbeek of all people who really doing a Don Johnson Miami Vice era performance I think the setting the eighty nine setting added a lot for me. Just kind of remembering that I don't know if it's like Yo MTV raps I'm sure there's a different countdown show around then the capture, the vibe of that really. Well, I think here even give us a music video and original music video with Kelly Rowland playing this. Pop Star. Hip, hop star who's kind of a mixture I don't know tell me what you think I was getting like. Janet. Jackson slash. Paula Abdul feel from that music video. So that was fun. There's a lot of fun stuff here. Yeah.

"Stuff like that. But. No I I just I had a I just remember may talked about. This stadium was going to be next the calcium. Soccer only. I remember thinking. This is GONNA work out. It's it's one of the best executed start to finish launches of a team. That I've seen because they even figured out how to make it seem like the team had a tradition in the beginning with the fans and the Eagle is at Eagle or Falcon. Falcon. Yes all that all those little twists, and it seems like they've been around for thirty years. It'd be well. It was created two years ago, but doesn't feel that way. They had A. Tom And the team, the team president and everything from your every move they didn't is since on to Yeah cultivating that fan base. Also to. John Thornton, the the GM at never been a GM before to easing, yeah, great moves with players and I'm kind of like. I think everyone would have been happy if. They just would have. been five hundred or rent. On top of everything that amazing atmosphere they turn out to be really good. It's a cool thing. The size of the stadium was really smart to. When when bomber makes the clippers arena. I think there's there's real wisdom in a smaller arena where it's more compact feels more special to be there. I think you should just do like two thousand seats. That's it is really tight. Keopardize says yeah, exactly, Pepperdine. Yeah, every scene is five thousand a game. All right well, good luck with the movie was good. Seeing you all right bill you, too. Thanks to Kenny the Jet Smith thanks to Wolf feral. Thanks to Ziprecruiter again. New Movies Coming To Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu And HBO This Weekend
"If you have Amazon prime video there's a movie called mice bite which was just hitting theaters when covert nineteen hit this is an action comedy Dave Batista who's you know guardians of the galaxy you know that big giant former wrestler guy he's a CIA agent row he finds himself teamed up with the precocious nine year old so in other words should be making kindergarten cop now I have to tell you about this to think that this is actually this is a rite of passage for action star Jackie Chan had a movie like this the rock had a movie like this John Cena is had a movie like this at some point you gotta so you're lovable side and be charged with guarding little kids and then you learn about the soft side yourself this one is particularly horrible and one of the things we hate about this movie Rakan my spot is set primarily in Chicago they shot it in Toronto eight that and the worst moments in this movie is there's a chase that begins in wicker park okay the bad guy gets behind the wheel of a car with her party he's trying to get away from Dave Batista CIA agent now the C. I. A. tech person is in David she says here telling them where you know traveling this guy and the agents as one minute after this car leaves wicker park the agent says looks like he's heading to the Naperville area because Naperville has a giant airfield so wrong later five minutes later we're in phony Naperville where I kid you not there's a big you know action sequence where the plane on the runway is now dangling over what appears to be the Grand Canyon who knew that in Naperville there was an airport overlooking a giant canyon clearly green screen so I mean it's just been really poorly done it's too violent for the little kids and it's too stupid for the adults and a lot of parents thing all this might be fun have a fun action movie stay away from my spy that's too bad you're you're totally right about that right of passage because Arnold Schwarzenegger had to do that too right I mean it was like a garden shop yeah I mean everybody has to make sure that the kids have something to go watch in that in those movies were actually pretty good for kids you're saying this one's not this was terrible okay now I've got I've got the funniest movie of the summer Fauria probably so far it has the worst title of all time it's called Eurovision Song Contest the story of fire saga well the Eurovision Song Contest is an actual deal in Europe and has been since the rent if these in fact Salim young was discovered on that aba was first on the Eurovision Song Contest this is a parity with will Ferrell the king of the parity right and Rachel McAdams they play a couple of Icelandic singer songwriters he's Lars Eriksen she's cigarette original daughter and their Icelandic and they're dreaming of representing their home whether they do kind of like Viking game of thrones stamp rock songs so this is filled with all these big production numbers because then we meet the contestants from Greece and the grand the Russian the Russian contest is actually played by our friend Dan Stevens was Matthew Crawley on Downton abbey he plays a Russian oligarch who's also a ballad singer it's really really stupid and it's really really funny it's mostly excuse these big giant set pieces where they do these huge production numbers remember will Ferrell did a movie called blades of glory your hair well he does for you know that did for ice dancing with the stars for song competition so even though we don't know the Eurovision Song Contest here in the states we know about all the competition shows that this is basically get one singer from each country you know what it's all European countries they have a couple of other than the states they're not we're not eligible for the Eurovision Song Contest was there an SNL bit with will Ferrell that was similarly themed I I just don't know that there could have been it's it's clearly the kind of stuff that he just excels at when you see him in the big Viking outfit and looks like the blue eye shadow it's singing about Viking you know might biking protector this is the song from this will enrich McAdams by the was wonderful as well she can also be very funny the video and the song they do is so terrible that it's great because it looks just like when you see those kind of you know that's a big deal that kind of like that Viking will rock nonsense yeah there's my aunts were everybody everybody pretends like the rolling the slave ship which is really just unfortunate or the big Viking ship as it will be we kind of you know horrible music but really right prepared well it there's that old joke about Led Zeppelin thank you know I have the have the crap was about Vikings right and if the agency had no idea what they were saying about this the music was so great musicianship as of right but if you look back you're like what the hell of the talk was only in the middle of the song yeah they had they did they had references to the lord of the rings when it was just a yeah they were so ready this is really true okay and anything else this weekend it's yeah I want to tell people is a completely does shift in tone row but the there's a best selling book a called I'll be gone in the dark written by the late Michelle McNamara who was UP board result park went to California become a true crime writer Mary Patton Oswalt the famous comedian and actor and she wrote about one of the best true crime book sense in cold blood called I'll be gone in the dark about the search for the Golden State killer probably the least known to most prolific serial killer rapist of the last fifty years this is not a six part series about Michelle's book and also about the Golden State killer it starts on HBO on Sunday night if people if you're into that true crime genre you know talk about making a murderer people aren't so many of these other ones this is the podcast to get started this is brilliantly done and it's really a profile of Michelle McNamara and her marriage to Pat now as well because it's young obviously she had a lot of recording should podcasters video for a lot and she died while writing the book she died in her sleep partially because the stress of the book and and prescription drugs and under heart condition and they continued patent and some researchers continued and finished the book without her and then we get to know the story of this incredible monster who I will let people know was just arrested a couple of years ago and charged with all these crimes because guess what they got his DNA matched about fourteen of the crime scenes that that kept the updates from I'll be gone in the
Unicorns of the Sea Reveal Sound Activities
"In real life, Nar walls don't speak English. Like the one bidding farewell to will Ferrell's character in the movie. Elf instead they sound more like this. That's an audio clip recorded by scientists last summer under the icy waters of northwest, Greenland. We want to describe what animals are doing. We I better understand what sounds are telling us. If Guinea Podolsky. A geophysicist at Hokkaido University in Japan, but Alcee and his colleagues study the soundscape of glacial fjords. They're noisy places where icebergs crash into the ocean and air bubbles visit of melting ice. These yards are also home to Charles. The animals are sometimes called unicorns of the seat because of their single long spiral Tusk and they're shy, which makes them hard to study so Polski teamed up with local at hunters who snuck up on narrow walls in kayaks and captured audio. That's the sound of a Narwhal looking for food, using echo-location like a dolphin or a bat. and. That's an all closing in on its prey, which had vacuums up into its toothless mouth, so start sounding like to my ear like a chain source something wick. Since? It's so many little clique SOM- that Kennedy even. Them and this is recognized as a foraging related sound used those by other animals, for example, other dolphins or bats. They do the same trick, because when they approach the target, their prey which is phenomenal, so Arctic Greenland Halibut. The want to update their. Knowledge about the position of the target more frequently because the target is moving, and they need to suck it in and. That's why the interval is getting shorter and we even using some simple simple assumptions. A equation can know how far the animal is from the target. The whistles you heard earlier are thought to be social calls individuals communicating with other nar walls. The researchers reported these observations in the Journal of Geophysical Research. Oceans, bursts, deal sounds which we don't know what they mean. And there are several wicketless, but also says that listening to Nar walls is a first step toward understanding this mysterious wail, and how it will cope climate, change, shipping, and other human activities alter its Arctic home. They're all this things taking place right now. In the region which will affect somehow this animals, but we have no clue even about the state or the previous state of this animal. So if we want to learn what's going to happen, we better start now and I hope this is where sound monitoring can help us to learn more about this still mysterious creatures.

The Most Rewatchable Films Off All Time!
"I asked all of you to pick five of your most reliable movies even as I'm here now. I'm thinking of other movies that I would have put on my list to Adam do you want to kick us off with one of yours absolutely? My number five is more of a movie. Batman begins and for me. That's because it has a four x structure James Unconventional. It basically created the modern superhero movie. It was the one that I think we all wanted and they finally figured out how to make it. And there's really no downtime. There's a little bit once once. The Second Act ends Bruce's coming back from being a Ninja. There's a little bit of time but even then it just keeps going well. I think that's part of it too. It feels like the movies constantly restarting like. It doesn't lose the momentum that you got from the last thing. But if almost feels like buster scruggs like it's like and now a news story in this world you love except that it it still builds on the stakes of the previous one. So yeah you have the beginning and you have what you have him going going here. It's Ninja Studies. But then flashback of him as a kid. Yeah and then but then it goes then it goes all right now. He's back in Gothenburg. There's more to this than just him being Ninja. It's him in Gotha somewhere between forty five minutes. An hour between forty five minutes in an hour until he becomes Batman Which is the that is. The best way of doing every other version has been high and Michael Keaton. I'll be Batman today. I hope you enjoy the film kids and then it just there. It's interesting that you liked that because I feel like mostly my gripe with a lot of Origin movies is. Oh you're it's the wait to get to that point and you're like just have them be it already. I think is Batman begins it so well and it had not been done before other than you got taste of like in the animated series and. I think it was like fracturing. This is on the tip of everyone's talking about if you if you just did a few things man and then they'd knocked it out of the park and it was. It's so damn good. I think that that's like probably the one Batman movie other than the dark night but dark knight even a watch. Jerry the Was He the joker parts. But like Batman begins. I love from beginning to end. See I know. I've definitely seen dark knight more than I've Seen Batman begins. I saw dark knight three times in the theater rich but I understand the news. Twelve years ago cheaper. I understand the difference that you're expanding because they think dark knight is one coherent story. That is just snowballing. Whereas Batman begins is like like you know these restarts again and again and it's way easier to be like I'm just GonNa Throw Him Batman begins and watch it. Yeah and infielder and tear to your point at least taking awhile. I think probably because audiences were ready for this. It's more satisfying when you get to Batman instead of just getting right away like you learned to appreciate it like you go. Oh this journey because remember. There's a guy who worked at the time he's like why has Bam Entry Ninjas stupid as a 'cause he trains jerk compelling to watch as well a lot Lindsey one of the movies on your list. I actually knew this was one. Eight year your. He's talked about buying definitely easy to put a Christmas movie on like a Rewatch ables list of because you have the opportunity every year to have those feelings and this is my number one holiday. Christmas rewatch -able movie. I watch it every year. I made you guys all watch it and put it. I bought it on Amazon Prime. Tell me lousy with the movie watcher itself. Oh thank you you never said the movement. Sorry I have eyeballs. Oh a lot of lead up and then you're GONNA build fit. I thought it was building to James. Caan you're a big fan of and the actor who played the kid overall favorite movies. Now I love it so much. Because it's it's that feel-good movie I mean it's a holiday movie so that's like Bilton but it's just really funny Yeah Yeah it's a great holiday comedy. I I remember walking away from this movie and being like I like the two thirds of it and it's charming guy. That's and that's why we're lucky that we have a will. Ferrell holiday movie. That isn't Daddy's home. Two good that we have this they were GONNA call that. Daddy's homer Yeah L. Flake. I think you hit the nail on the head with Chris Movies They. They need to be engineered for that. Yeah because that's the sign of a good lasting. Chris movie like home alone. I've seen more times than I can say to. The it's Christmas story marathon. I was GONNA say as long as it's better than a Christmas story and kids have to grow up watching that anymore. Oh God yeah. So here's the I think the interesting thing about a Christmas movie is that it should be about more than just. Christmas is like hard about Christmas. But it's about way more than just Christmas. Yeah like family. You kinda reunited so it's it's a from a different time when you could. You could mock little people. Yeah well That man went on to be tearing Lancaster. And what have you done with your life me not a lot not a lot. James. You hit the nail on the head with twenty years. I've seen this movie a billion fucking times gladiator. Yeah Wow yeah well. It's because there are lots of obviously we could see the movie. Certain people were putting in and stuff like that but I was like. I was like well action movies. Sometimes there's an action movie that you can watch and of course there's dumb ones like you can put any dumb silly action. Movie that's digestible on there. But gladiators like an epic and I couldn't imagine watching an epic scale movie historical epic type movie like this over and over again but gladiator. I have like I remember. I was in a Latin class in high school and the teacher didn't care at all about teaching and would be like We're GONNA watch gladiator. Nice it's like we're gonNA teach you about gladiator classes and long enough to watch all gladiator. Come back the next time says. When do we stop and then you go? I think it was what he was fighting the goals. Which is like the first fifteen minutes of the movie go? Okay you'd start there wouldn't finish and then you'd you'd end up watching gladiator again and again. I watch gladiator in two different classes in high school. That's pretty good But yeah it's just like I just think it's so digestible when you think about some of the other movies in this genre it's like exodus gods and kings and like like these big scale historical drama pieces and stuff just didn't none of them. None of them are is fun is gladiator is in my opinion. It's a dense movie. It's also covers a lot of ground here. there's not a lot of misunderstandings two and half hours pilates two and a half hours but like kind of like we're saying about some of those other movies it like has several start. It's like okay. Well there's the beginning part of the movie Where he's he's soldier but then there's the part where he's training and then there's the part where he's leaving rebellion and like it so there's all these like restarts and stuff. Yeah I honest I still think this is one of walking penises best performances and I feel like it's a role that you would never see him again. Oh Yeah Russell. Crowe no keep Russell Crowe. I'll never liked this ever again. Heartthrob Sexy Action Lead Caesar Cut. I've never seen this movie. It's real good yeah. He didn't joy in a lot is like I'm going to say that a lot about some of the films early. It's okay I mean if you ever wondered we're doomed got his mask from. You should watch glad I will watch a lot of these movies. I'm sure but yeah no. I Love Gladiator. It's pretty it's weird because it was one of one best picture and like people in hindsight were like really gladiator. And I'm like yeah because it's just because it's like a popcorn action movie doesn't mean it doesn't deserve the acclaim. It

We'll farrel talking. Yeah about having three boys at home and say describing his house he says it's like a small correctional facility. Here's Will Ferrell and Jennifer Aniston talking about his family as your son's birthday access. Today today axles ten years old. The three Boys Boys Axel Magnus Magnus all very common names. Yeah the way much bigger axle. Turn to in the Middle Guy. Matias turned thirteen in December boy. Magnus is about two thirty six sixteen boys house arena boys one so I mean as a parent of other boys. That's a lot of. It's a lot of chaos. All parenting rules go completely out the window. You go from like all the things you read about conflict resolution. "On the way home, he would drive back when we'd start the deck stays work who've in did you ever have moments while you're shooting where you're just I can't do someone's going to hold it in front of me. They were a couple of the very first day of filming. Yeah, we had to start on a huge monologue. Oh boy. So we had cue cards, ready. Okay. And I kinda used them but then also started happening. Yeah, it was crazy. But halfway through I was like, why did I what did I want to do this as is so hard? Sure. Yes. Yeah. And it's the same with the George Bush show every night. I would be hanging in the rat litter. Hanging because the top of the show is that if you remember after the inauguration, the new incoming president comes in. They have the exit meeting, and then the outgoing first family is lifted in the marine helicopter. Right. So I thought, oh, it'd be really funny. Let's mimic. The helicopter is literally has taken him from the White House in his dropping him into the theater. So I was on a. Rappelling compelling in so I, but so they take me up like two minutes before curtain, and I'd be sitting up there literally hanging on. I don't want to. I don't want to do this. I. Why did I agree to do this? How am I going to remember this eighty minute show? It's just me and then, by the end, I'd be like this is the greatest thing I've ever done. Yeah can't wait for tomorrow night. And then you back. Damn, dammit. Will what's your problem? What? Why? Yeah. And that was three months of that. Yeah. Oh in eight shows a week. Yup. Oh my goodness. Also to within the body of the show didn't do myself, any favors. Because Bush was known as giving everyone nicknames in his cabinet. And so, I'd go through we'd bring the house lights up. It would say everyone knows like to give nicknames and what what we're gonna do is raise your hand. Give me your name, and your profession. I'll give you a nickname. And I would just a scattershot. Uh-huh. And I was like, really, you got to save the land. I'd be like, oh, almost to the show, the hardest part. Yeah, yeah, but I say I'm drawn to holding my hand over the flame. Yes. In some way, do you think maybe it's like to keep yourself awake like they kind of get it like aliens yourself to stay like mental mentally agility? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I always feel like there's all these forks in the road where I could start coasting seen. I seen like a path for me to start coasting better. Do this thing. I don't want to. Right. Right, right. Yeah. That mixed with why are you doing it? If you're not going to do that. Right. Well, I was just going to say my favorite things you've done, and I have a lot of favorite movies ears. But my favorite things are like I was at a fucking Lakers game. One time. Look over. If you've not been to the Lakers game. There's like six or eight guys in red vest. I'm not sure what they do. But they're at the corner of the court the guys. Yeah. But they're not. I mean red jackets. Yeah. What does he that even mean I'm not sure what they're doing? But right. I'm like looking over my mother fucker looks so much like welfare. I mean, he must get that a lot and you just yours. Here's the ending there. There's no real bit beyond to my knowledge, beyond just your there in a jacket. And I'm like, no. That is will fare on Honey this fuck now. That's the thing that you're saying you don't watch something get angry. I've seen some stuff like that where on my God. Damn it. Why haven't I thought to ask them if I can wear the jacket and just stand there stoically for an hour and a half? How did that one come about? That was that outfit was a gift. Oh. Of course, of course, in Chris Hinchey. We had a stretch of time where we give each other really weird birthday gifts. They gave me a full regulation Staples Center. How they got it. I have no idea. But head to toe the pants the tie the red jacket. Oh my goodness. And I opened it up. I didn't laugh as. Oh my God. What do you not like it? I'm like, no, I love it so much. The problem is going to actually have to wear. Yeah. Will be a complete failure. So it took me like that whole season. Okay. And how do I do this because I don't want if I wear it in. They might go where did you get that from? Right. Right. If I didn't know how they would handle it. So I so I snuck in the jacket. Oh, I wore had this whole plan, and you just had normal seats we happen to have courtside seats. Okay, and Chris, and she came with me, and he's like, okay, so I like so here if I get tackled to the ground, what do we do? He's like, I'll just be there with, if I get s hoarded out, we had all this contingency. And so, I was like, I got butterflies I feel like I'm gonna throw up and. So I have everything ready to go. Just have to put the clip on tie and the jacket. And we're like okay next next break next time out we're going for it. So I just threw it on. And just got up. And just stood the way those guys stand. Yes. With my back to the court looking at the crowd. Yes. And then they're just became this ripple of, like, all of us starting to realize that will like, who is that guy your same? Yes, I started to try to get out on the court. Sure, gophers to the guy's credit, who was closest to me. He was like I just can't have you. Oh, he's, he's trying not to laugh. There have been told don't laugh at stuff. Right. And he's, you know, permission for. No. Oh, God bless you of that makes me so happy. And so he just said, just like you just please don't stay on the court. I'm a great. So I just stood on the baseline. Yeah. Just super serious. Yeah. And then I'm looking around and I can see they must have been talking to each other because I can see the red coat guys kind of ring the court. Yes. And their own nail of the ear and looking around putting their finger to their ear like where is he people are probably consulting, like a protocol book in the office. Yeah. Like, what are what's our muzo did? I sit back down and then get a tap on the shoulder. And I noticed that shack was there, too. I was like, oh, he's sitting down way over in the corner. I get a tap on the shoulder. And it was in this guy comes up. He's like, hey, I'm Bob LA. I'm buddies with shack. He thinks it's hilarious. He he's getting ready to leave. Oh, do you want to throw him out of the game? Oh, and I go. Yes, that's great. Yes. So the next commercial break, this thing, just starts writing. I stand up and but I kinda shift over and and I keep looking over at shack and keep motion, like, hey, knock it. And he plays along beautifully. Oh, he's an actor. Yeah. He starts to throw his hands up. Like, what am I doing? And we do this whole little play where I'm like, that's it come with me. And I ask him out, and he's so large so large, too large. And he's cracking up. Oh. And then the head of security comes parties owners like the guys loved it. You made their week day thought of it as an Oman. They were like, yes. You've noticed the man. Yeah. They really appreciate what you did tonight me acting like a jackass. I don't wanna get too lofty with this. It's an artist elation. Yeah. It really is. It's a performance RPM. So in my time with Jimmy Miller, I called him up, and I said, I really want to be in a reenactment the worst the show, the better too. No lines. Of course, I want to have to act out like scream and do all that. And like Ron knew all the things you'd see in a police show reenactment in the immediately goes all this is just like will he wanted to be a corpse on his show were you, you were a corpse on a CSI type of show? No, I didn't I didn't get to do that. But I did. There was a CBS show. Where we set it up, like I was going to become an and we had to tell CBS they couldn't promoted at all. I did a fake name Phil Weston and the credits. Oh, and they but these set up the show what was the name of the anyway? And we set up a whole storyline where I'm like it looks like I'm going to be a new character on the show in the last scene. I'm shot in the head. Oh, okay. So you did some acting in sodas. Murdered. Yeah. Okay. I thought you just play which would have been up. I thought you were going to bring up the fact that what I really wanted to do is, you know, the DR mower those on those commercials. Yeah. Late night super tall weeds and they're Super Bowl. We chipper. Yeah. And it's just usually a guy I was like I wanna be the guy pushing the DR mower. Yes. And we got to the five yard line, but the owner of the company was like, look, I can't guarantee that this won't leak and we just wanted to show. Oh, up on late night TV where you, did you make it into a late night commercial, though. I feel like I saw you some bizarre. Oh, that would be so great. You know it only works if you stumble across that we got to do the lifetime movie, though. Yes. This is where. Yeah. So those are the kind of things that I have going on. God deal either. Why didn't I think of that or now that's done? Right. But you've done some really great things. But I've had some regrets, you have some Gretz of moments I didn't capitalize on. Oh, one time being at the Golden Globes sitting pretty close to the front and the first category up was best song and prince one but he was late. And it was Justin Timberlake was presenting. And I was like, gosh, you just walk up and accept. Pull the trigger. I couldn't. Yes. Well, can I tell you the one I plan this year didn't come to fruition? Did you see star was born? I did okay? You know, when she wins, he comes up since stage in pieces pants while my wife was nominated for a Golden Globe this year, and if she one was going to go June. And then pee my pants get like a thing, and then P might be right. And we were like this is so for me, my own insecurities, I'm like, it's so dicey because people will really collect all this fucking guys gotta steal her moment. Like he's got to do so that was my right ear. Right. But ran up by a bunch of people, and it was pretty collectively. Like that would be great. That'd be worth it. Yeah. And she genuinely didn't wanna make a speech. So she's like this would be like hell the pressure off me. Yes, this do this. So she didn't win this never done. But that was one that I was like, really hoping that I could do that. But I am really curious about your time management theory on your life because clearly you're doing things that earn money. Yup. And those have a certain priority. Right. Right. And then you're doing things that you seem to be a player that loves playing the game against you're, you're making one hundred million dollar contract, but you seem to love playing the game. And there's evidence of it like the Rose Bowl parade thing like how did that come about a we were all watching it at a friend's as we, we have this tradition? We sleep on New Year's Eve and we wake up and we ought to Rose Bowl and here's people. Are dying in look what's happening. God, damn this guy's got the good ideas. Like how did how did that even come about that came about from a text from a dear friend? We, we share a lot of the same comedy since he was just like you and Molly Shannon need host the rose parade in character. I was like, dude. That is a brilliant idea. Yes. And so it took us a while to get it to get, you know, we pitched it to the rose parade. Lad, one guy really liked it. And then had to convince of the panel. And why imagine the conversation and a lot of these situations like is he making fun of us? Raleigh, we just pitched it that we, we were making fun of broadcasters, if anything we were going to celebrate the, the majesty of the rose parade, and that how much we love it no matter the fact that no one will hire us keep coming back and just we love it so much and would make fun of ourselves and our lives and our and yeah. Because of I guess, probably the, the success of it, then it was like let's do the Royal wedding yet. Yeah. We're, we're still thinking of thing you can do sure it gives you guys like at the Kentucky Derby, the we talked about that, you did the okay. I was hoping our current president was going to do this military parade. All that That would have would been. have been were like we were going to host that, I'll see if we can do that. And then we were gonna do like a telephone where we talked about how, how philanthropic our president is, and let's see how much money is he given. Let's check the clock. Let's check the telephone meter at which money he's given to these and it still to stay on. Zero there. But that was fantastic. That first time we did on M O or half the people were like these are the worst broadcasts I've ever seen. Right. Some people with allies. These are comedians. What are you talking about? Yes. Why does he keep talking about his fear of horses? One of the comments was this may be the last time I grandmother ever watches the parade old boy, you guys have ruined old boy, like switch champ. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Stay tuned. For more armchair, exploit if there we We are. are supported by rang. Now everyone knows ring's mission is to make neighborhoods.

"Like a single mom working bunch of job? I didn't have time, right? And I think you guys either took it upon yourselves. Or maybe I intimated that you'll kind of create your own path. They'll be consequences if you don't or. Whatever but yeah, I was just always motivated to turn myself in you. Well, but you, you must've liked the approval of the teachers in their hats, in the and all that them. Right. That could be a big motivator, yet, especially if again, I had the best mom on the planet, but she also was not around town. I mean, she she was so busy trying to take care of three of us, right? That, like I was pretty starving for some adult approval. Yeah. So it could be that it could also be like, I'm assuming you didn't grow up in a play. Chal estate with the divorce single mom, remember the show, silver spoons. Oh, yeah. Oh, you had a train train through living room. Oh, wow. We. Well, now I really don't know why you did anything you should've just stayed in that house that an, an Alf came up recently. Okay. I was watching a repeat of Alf the other day, it was one of those were. Just inexplicably landed on L. Sure. Sure. Like I got to see this through here. Yes and health involve the FBI and the thought that someone in the cast was a secret agent. So they were monitoring. And then at some point, Al is on a two way radio with a voice actor impersonating Ronald Reagan, and ALPHA's giving him a sentimental speech where they literally bring in strings. Oh, wow. About how, so it must have been at the height old or how, you know, let's put our differences aside and low he leaves an alien from another planet. Right. That's really reach across the aisle with or, you know, we're all humans, we're gonna share this plan, and it was like, well, healthy pooling. We should just stop and smell the roses. This is incredible. Meanwhile, a man is doing the voice and working that puppet. Yes. That's also the next time you stumble across it. I hope it's before the title sequence, because they shoot off the set in the title sequence. And it stayed there titles, sequence for seven years, there, unin address in the phone, just and you see lights and. No. The left no one's gonna notice. Right. In our we don't have to reshoot. It can't be done. Speaking of people inside of suits. I was just at the LA kings hockey game. And they have a mascot called Bailey, who's a lion. Okay. King of the jungle, right? A hang doesn't make sense. B. O. L. A T's. He's the king of the. Yeah. Doesn't make sense. No. But he's a lion. And I was there doing because Ron burgundy helped commentate during the kings game. Okay. Dresses, ron. And of course, in the five minute, walk it takes to get from the bowels of the stadium up into the broadcast booth. They have a camera on you the whole hall. So for media everything that and I've got Bailey behind me just because. Just up my that just look hard chart just like full Bailey. Yeah. They're so demonstrative. Yeah. Because they ever speak, right? All they got their hands bump. What's up with the hands onto hi-fi Huns a high five? Double. Hi fi. And then I'd made a disparaging comment to bail like Bailey back off my friend big like. Let me read. And so he's following me around, and then we stop and take a photo. And finally, there's this little meek voice from inside a Bailey's head. You're the best. Oh, Bailey spoke. Oh,.

Jeff's like those stuff. I'm like what does he do stuff? So I don't know. I think Jordan has something on Jeff. I think Jeff once was in his tesla in backed up over an old lady and Jordan sought and Jeff just keep this quiet, and you don't have to do anything. So. Yeah, I know Jordan is not my favorite person. I do think he's one of my favorite comedy partners as a person. No. He really can be very irritating. Yeah. Yes. Good wine recommendations and good restaurant recommendation. But he'll talk about it for an hour and ten minutes has this manner. You ask him about what do you think? What kind of wind should I get? Well, traditionally the Malbak, of course, you know, in this region because of the earth and you action then he goes into this stuff. Re- says you can actually feel the sunlight in the elevator. "What is this? Now. What are we doing? We're gonna listen to some questions that fantastic for you. We're going to actually hear the fans. Yes. You think they're going to be mean? Yeah. Why? When people don't have to ask you something personally, they could be mean about it. But I think also people seem to like you just like being able to hear the internet yet. You know what? I mean. These people have no fear of hurting my feelings. This is just scary. Yes, is frightening. But go ahead. Let's do it person. You are. On. How do you get your hair to stand up like that? I just don't know please tell me your secrets. As a good question. I do get that question. All the time. I fall if began naturally, I just noticed that my hair kind of sits up a little bit and it had a spring to it. And this is like when I was a teenager. Big fan of rockabilly music in the comb their hair up and all that. And so I I liked combing my hair up into a big wave. 'cause I realized I could do that. And it it created kind of a look now I was watching TV one day, and this is a long time ago. There was his actress name, Victoria, principal. Remember her? You're making a confused. Look. She was on the show Dallas. Okay. I'm really dating. I'm really dating myself. Now, I thought you were. Yeah. Till you saw old I've eighteen, but it was his actress name, Victoria, principal when she did a commercial, and she gave her hair tip, which she dried her hair upside down men. So I thought I'm going to try that actually a teenage boy taking advice from an actress who is speaking to women, and I realized I could make my hair stand up even more to the point where it got ridiculous. And then it just became this weird habit. Where I sometimes I would just try to build it up into this big French pastry that seven top of my head was actually in Ireland once and this guy was like standing. By the side of the road. And I walked by any went to God, what do you feed that thing winning to my hair? Now, I don't know how to stop. Now, I've become like big bird. Or Mickey Mouse, I'm supposed to look a specific way. I made myself a cartoon turn myself into an emoji. And people wanna see me be that. And there are times when my hair is flat and people are all upset like I'm a fraud. And I'm like, okay, I'll go fix it. And then I comb it back up again, everyone's happy, and I get a free latte..

I didn't make any money. You know, they I think the key is that second city, I think they serve drinks, and they serve food, and you can buy t shirts in the lobby. You can actually the groundlings never cracked that. Oh, but I did that. And I remembered hearing about you later on remembered hearing about you at the groundlings as funny guy my sister, right? Jane was at the and she said there's this. She would rave about you. And. I said from the thanks Jane. Yeah. I said from the sound of it doesn't have it is what I said at the time. I was very defensive. Yeah. Additive without even knowing me. All I heard was someone else's funny. And I said doesn't sound funny to me she hadn't even give an example of how you might be funny to know. I shut it. I think that says a lot about you. I don't see that. All right. I just very I root against. Yeah. Other people in comedy. What does that say about me? I know so awful human being. Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. When others succeed in comedy. I'm enraged, right? Is that not good you need to let that go. I want you to do worse than you do. Oh, so I can feel better. Right me. Right. What's wrong with that? You're not gonna give you one on this podcast. That's for sure. By the way, my crusade after doing this is to tell no one else to do it. You gonna tell you inspired that God I'm getting right on the old social media is that what it's called. It's called the soc. Is on Twitter for four days. Shut it down. Did you enjoy it? I really got way too sweaty nervous too much pressure. Yeah. I don't read anything know about. No, no, no, no, no novels, but only about me. No, do I read any press. You'll always find the one the one thing that makes you go. Really? Yeah. Yeah. You know, though saddled with. You know, a horrible lack of humor O'Brien's manage to overcome it, whatever. And then it goes on to say time, bad reviews or fun is when something has done really, well, you can tell critical masses. You know, we some of the most amazing reviews we ever got were on stepbrothers. Yeah. So we are already feeling like, oh, this is this is hitting all the right spots. And we've we've made something good and the best one was Roger Ebert. And the review was like, whatever you do do not see this movie Aloun, do not tell your friends about it. So you came out to try stand up. We'll Farrell, and then we cut to you the mustache. Yeah. Heckling yourself, and then the heckling gets between the two of you. And you say, hey, I'm just trying to do something here. And then you as yourself at total dick, and you kept kept wiping, the mustache with your finger and gesturing to it and being total prick. And then you charged yourself and everyone in the audience was like, well, how's this going to happen? Because the guy in the audience is a pretense of how were you to innovate? And then we cut to you insisted on a body double and was a little person, you know, Michael Jack up Michael Jackson jacket, right? Who tackles you suddenly the reate SMI up you up doesn't match you. Anyway. Anyway, she perform thank God for your late night show because that was like that was like comedy heaven where I knew there are other talk shows that, you know, very lovely to do. However, they had their set rules as to what they were comfortable doing. And you guys were always like, let's do it. Let's try. Yeah. There was there was one where you we had the drum of we asked. I wanted to show off my drumming against a. Nine year old kid. Nine or eleven eleven. Yeah. But a really good drummer. And I can't play he blows me away. And I chase him off the set. Yeah. I mean that was I was once doing Charlie rose, and he was asking about doing late night TV and all the talk shows, and I literally started going down like just unabashedly going. Oh, this one's always doing Letterman. It's it's such thing. But but hands down Conan is Charlie was careful. He didn't want me to play favorites. Anyway. You normally wear. And I go I go, I don't know how to explain this to you. But no this is like a long running joke. He's like good because it's not a good look for you. And it could see him with those is was giving me like brotherly advice, and I go. Oh, no. I I I know it's not. But I'm once again that became a thing where. I gotta keep wearing it. And. The great Adam McKay. Plates dub, right and Adam McKay wrote it down. So you guys came to us because both of you and said can we do it on your show? We were like, you know, it was someone saying do you want to Godley? Yes. Yes. We want to Godley you guys came and scrub it's hard to describe, but he's like mister clean of noxious mister clean. He's an obnoxious mister clean out of control. And it was a sketch where we're going to have a website where you can look up all the old stuff in high resolution, and this is what it was a running ad throughout your show. It was a running ad Yucai. You kept interrupting, and I would move on you and say I'm scrubbed up, and you were I think you're bald. And you muscular, muscular, mister clean. Yup. Outfit. And then I would say, okay. Well, that's great scrubbing of. And I would move on. And then you'd be in the corner, and you'd be playing craps. Yeah. You gotta talking to. And I think ADEMA, hey, gotta talk which was you know. No, no. No. No. No. No. No. No, no. But we were just complete like, well, oh, they don't wanna use a here. Let's just let's call Conan and his guys. "So you switch to the five and seven ten seven ten and again, I kept saying stay with me see with. But what I loved as a longtime admire viewers. I get asked us a lot of people say who makes you laugh the hardest and I consistently say will Ferrell because he doesn't care. He goes down these deep deep wells. He does not care if you're coming with him or not and you follow him out of fascination, and I don't know where that comes from you have you have dead shark is. And you I think it's that thing you know, in it happened on my audition for Sarah Night Live. You know, they do a different every year, you know. But that year that I did it everyone had to do it in age. And it was there's no audience, and they're just a camera and someone holding a boom mic. Yeah. And just the glow of Lorne Michaels cigarette as he smokes it. No. But doesn't in the dark. You're literally alone. Yes. And. It's so intimidating and so awful that I was like, oh, it can't get any worse than this. So I'll just cry to relish the moment. So that same. But I remembered a guy who worked on our show also hung out star that live and who's talking about you. Okay. And he said, there's this guy will Ferrell, and he's really funny, but he does these things, and I don't know if he's kidding or not or if he's crazy. And I said, what do you mean? And he said he did tell me if this is true. This is what I heard at the time. Right. And I'm pretty sure it's not lore. He told me that. Now, this guy will this kid will the last sketch that he was in on Saturday Night Live. He had to be dressed in a certain costume, the Jerry readout. Yes. Like like full-on country music. Outfit. And he wore it to the after party, which always has and then continued to wear it for weeks while noting for weeks for the whole entire second half of the season. Yes. Yes. Yes. And I had a friend of mine. Then people started to tell me I kept thinking he's going to drop it. So then weeks later, some would say I was at the natural history museum, and I saw will Ferrell walking down the street in his country. Western colleges described the outfit to. Yeah. Wrangler jeans. Yeah. Like nineteen seventies Nike track shoes, western shirt with a down vest. Trucker scout Jeters cat, and I was playing Jerry Reed. Yep. From the smoking in in in in a in a sketch. The for some reason your member how the shooting days when it SNL we had a pre-tape, but part of it in the first part of the day, and we weren't shooting the second part till the next I decided I'm just gonna have my juried costume all day during rehearsal. And whatever. But then I decided to wear it to the after party, then I wear it to the pitch meeting the following Monday. And then it was this writer, Tom, Janice. Who's like a run of three shows like please where for the next show too. So I sort of wearing show week number two then show week number three. And I thought okay. This was funny enough, and it was Tom, please. Where it for the rest of the year. It'll be so inspirational, and I'm like be right, Tom. I have to do this. I don't know why this is what separates. Oh, why this? Yeah. So I'm like, there's no reason not to and it became this beautiful comedy litmus test. And it would get funnier..

So good in what you do that for which do that for what number podcast is this for you? By the way, I think this is maybe the first. Might be this throw balloon. This is the first time. And you as Ron started to talk about for any other comedian. It would be an aside. You just mentioned we're here at the Greek. It's nice were nestled in the hills here in Hollywood Rowson soon wolves you started to talk about wolves being in the hills. And I watched as you talked about wolves coming out of the hill coyotes Jody's for maybe fifteen minutes, and you wouldn't let it go. Any was whole laris. You went at least fourteen minutes longer than any other human would ever go on about coyotes. Yeah. There is there's something about doing Ron burgundy because he's an expert on everything. In his own mind in it's great. If the audience is laughing they were laughing, very hard. Yeah. But it's even better when they're not because just love to punish them. And just they can't go anywhere and Ron just has a captive audience. What's nice because it's not you in that moment. You will is somewhere else. Ron is on state is also just screaming names of communities at them. Yes. Because if you've been to the Greek theater for those listeners at home, it's up in the Los feeless area Griffith park area. And so I kept referencing the communities out in San Diego driven. I rented a car drive to the Greek theater. But I kept saying I had a list of like fifteen communities, which are foreign to the L A audience. Just like anyone from Rancho PANA -squitoes here. Like a smattering of. I wanna hear you in cantata.
