Joe Biden Shuts Down Oil Production in Alaska
"Go now to Joe Biden's White House speech? I wish you would. We're going to the president is in complete control of the border. There is no open border and he's not worried at all. He gave a speech at The White House yesterday, cut number 7. I declared the entire U.S. article off limits to new oil and gas development period. We ran the process and protect more than 13 millionaire, 13 million acres of significant natural historic value in the Alaskan national petroleum reserve. And I protected the boundary waters of canoe area, wilderness, surrounding wetlands in Minnesota. Look, that's the most serialized we are we have energy inflation. We have energy inflation and the president is bragging on shutting down oil production in Alaska. And we want electric cars for which we need rare earth minerals not from China or dug up by ten year old boys in the Congo. And that actually is in the boundary waters. Tidal basin. It's in the watershed of the boundary waters. It's not inside the park. And he won't let Minnesota twin mining or twin mines, I believe it's called. They won't let them dig. So

"Ado, I want to welcome Riley gaines who is just been blowing up lately. Riley, welcome to the show. Well, thank you so much for having me on. Well, we're just honored, you know, we've had a front row seat both here on the Charlie Kirk show and at turning point USA to watching you really sort of rise out of obscurity. You were class of 22 UK swim. You competed against Leah Thomas, the man masquerading as a woman and really cheating a lot of other competitors such as yourself at the national championships swim meets and you took a stand. You were brave. You were one of these lone voices calling out in the wilderness. I know you're a Christian, so you understand that imagery, you really were very isolated and alone. I want to start there, Riley, what is it about you, maybe your upbringing, your family, that made you stand out when so many other competitors, women that you were friends with that you were competing against, they shared privately with you that they didn't agree with what was happening, but they stayed silent. Why did you not? I think what it is for me, I get called brave all the time. I get called courageous all the time. But I don't feel brave. I don't feel courageous. I think what I think of as brave is our military is our law enforcement, people who are actively putting themselves on the front lines. And so when people call me this, it didn't feel right. Taking a stance in the truth shouldn't be bright. And that's when it kind of hit me. We're just scared of different things. The people who are calling me brave, they're scared of being labeled as transphobic or homophobic or I get called racist even, even though this has nothing to do with race. They're scared of those labels. They're scared of the cancel culture that we live in. And while that is scary, what's scarier to me is not taking a stance in the truth is lying. And that's what they're asking us because it could do.

"I'm talking to Randall Terry, whom you must discover for yourself at Randall Terry dot com or on the rumble channel for this program, the Eric metaxas show. You can watch the two hours I did with him talking about the story of his life, which is extraordinary folks. I want to recommend it to you. If you get my newsletter, go to Eric metaxas dot com. When we sent out the newsletter, you will get this video. You've got to know who I'm talking to. This is not just some guy who made time boys the movie as important as that is, as wonderful as that is. So time boys the movie has to do, you said earlier, Randall, with. Trying to save a life medically. That theme is in time boys and time boys two, which I'm very excited about. I'm very thankful for. I want to encourage because I appreciate you teasing me about being a dad, but when I when I look at king David in the Bible and I see this boy out in the wilderness, watching sheep. He could have become bitter. He could have become lazy, but what he did was he used his time to learn to fire a slingshot and got so good that he could do it on the run and then he also learned to play an instrument because the Bible calls him the psalmist of Israel. So when our boys were little and I'm having, this is an exhortation to moms and dads and grandmas and grandpas. When our boys were young, we said to them, look, you're going to eat, you're going to grow, but you're going to learn math, and you're going to learn English. And you're going to learn at least two instruments. All of them were required to play the piano, and all of them could pick another instrument. And so the reason I'm saying this is because we're desperate in America for people who have a gift with the arts. But a lot of it has to do with discipline. And I don't want to practice too bad. You have to practice. And so you can just see king David out there with the sheep, but he's also using his time wisely to learn to throw that sling to learn to sing to write poetry to play the instrument. He was so good that when he played for Saul, the demons left Saul.

1 Samuel 17: 19-36 David and Goliath
"But I probably will tomorrow. Just to let you know, just heads up on that one. Probably say it again tomorrow. But today is day one one zero. I don't know why I'm saying it like that. Day 110. Oh my gosh, you guys, this is the stop for a second. 810. Well done. Phenomenal work. I just, what a gift. Here we are, reading from first Samuel chapter 17, praying, psalm 12. First Samuel chapter 17, David and Goliath. Now, the Philistines gathered their armies for battle, and they were gathered at so called, which belonged to Judah, and encamped between soko and azaka, and FS Damien. And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered, and encamped in the valley of elah, and drew up in line of battle against the Philistines. And the Philistines stood on the mountain on the one side and Israel stood on the mountain on the other side with a valley between them. And there came out from the camp of the Philistines, a champion named Goliath of gath, whose height was 6 cubits and a span. He had a helmet of bronze on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was 5000 shekels of bronze, and he had grieves of bronze upon his legs, and a javelin of bronze, slung between his shoulders, and the shaft of his spear was like a weaver's beam, and his spears head weighed 600 shekels of iron and his shield bearer went before him. He stood, and shouted to the ranks of Israel. Why have you come out to drop for a battle? Am I not a philistine and are you not servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves and let him come down to me. If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants. But if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us. And the philistine said, I defy the ranks of Israel this day. Give me a man that we may fight together. When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistines, they were dismayed and greatly afraid. Now David was the son of an epithet of Bethlehem and Judah, named Jesse, who at 8 sons. In the days of Saul, the man was already old and advanced in years, the three eldest sons of Jesse had followed Saul to the battle, and the names of his three sons who went to the battle were eliab the firstborn, the next to him, abhinav, and the third shamah. David was the youngest. The three eldest followed Saul, but David went back and forth between Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem. For 40 days the philistine came forward and took his stand morning and evening. And Jesse said to David his son, take for your brothers and ifa of this parched grain and these ten loaves and carry them quickly to the camp to your brothers, also take these ten cheeses to the commander of their thousand. See how your brothers fare and bring some token from them. Now Saul and they and all the men of Israel were in the valley of Ella, fighting with the Philistines. And David rose early in the morning and left the sheep with a keeper and took the provisions and went as Jesse had commanded him, and he came to the encampment as the host was going forth to the battle line, shouting the war cry. And Israel and the Philistines drew up for battle army against army and David left the things in charge of the keeper of the baggage and ran to the ranks and went and greeted his brothers. As he talked with them, behold, the champion, the philistine of gath, Goliath by name, came up out of the ranks of the Philistines and spoke the same words as before, and David heard him. All the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were much afraid. In the men of Israel said, have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel and the man who kills him, the king will enrich with great riches and will give him his daughter and make his father's house free in Israel. And David said to the men who stood by him, what shall be done for the man who kills this philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel. For who is this uncircumcised philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God? And the people answered him in the same way, social it be done to the man who kills him. Now eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke to the men, and elie abs anger was kindled against David, and he said, why have you come down? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness, I know your presumption, and the evil of your heart. For you have come down to see the battle. And David said, what have I done now? Was it not but a word? And he turned away from him toward another, and spoke in the same way, and the people again answered him as before. When the words which David spoke were heard, they repeated them before Saul, and he sent for him. And David said to Saul, let no man's heart fail because of him. Your servant will go and fight with this philistine. And Saul said to David, you are not able to go against this philistine to fight with him. For you are but a youth, and he has been a man of war from his youth. But David said to Saul. Your servant used to keep sheep for his father, and when there came a lion or a bear and took a lamb from the flock, I went after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth. And if it arose against me, I caught him by his beard and struck him and killed him. Your servant has killed both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised philistine shall be like one of them, seeing that he has defied the armies of the living God. And David said, the lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this philistine. And Saul said to David, go. And the lord be with you. Then saw clothed David with his armor. He put a helmet of bronze on his head and clothed him with a coat of mail, and David belted on his sword over his armor, and he tried in vain to go, for he was not used to them. Then David said to Saul, I can not go with these, for I'm not used to them. And David

You know, others that are on the ground local politician, you know, from Macau and to you mayor Arizona or I could say you know from Laredo, Texas to uma Arizona. We are seeing people speak up and speak out. And many of the tejanos and who live here in Texas that have been here for generations are saying we need to put a stop to this. We can see that because their fence lines are being torn down. Our ranches, there is destruction on the property. There is concern about the safety and the well-being of families, many times you'll have groups of men coming across the border and trying to enter people's homes. Coming into the home for the purpose of stealing or maybe finding water, we have also seen the highest numbers of deaths along the border tide where we have migrants that are losing their lives and imagine what it's going to be like when the weather shifts again after the spring and the summer months kit and along the Rio Grande valley in the Rio Grande valley sector, the temperatures will be soaring. Dehydration loss of people get lost in that vast wilderness. This is a tough area to cross, especially if you're up at big bend national park. We've seen people lost to the point where they die. They have no way to reach anyone or any so there is nothing about this. There is nothing about this open border policy under the Biden administration that is remotely redeemable

If you do things with good intent and it's unfavorable to other people then that's different. But if you out here knowing that you are attacking a man because of political expediency, God gonna get you and I pray to God do that. Same thing like that. Man and Biden wasn't guilty and Republicans are just going after and going after them for nefarious means. Then, man, you know, I wouldn't be okay with that. And I don't like Biden. Biden is dead. He's literally dead walking around. They probably give him a little Adderall every day. So he can keep running. But that dude ain't functioning. You know, I'm gonna give you an example. And this person who's a medical professional made the statement to say, this dude is not well. What person, what medical professional would give him the click green light? You can observe his behaviors. It's shuffle. When Biden is walking, he's shuffling. That's a sign of some deterioration.

Detransitioning and Finding God With Oli London
"Want to make sure you had an opportunity to tell one part of your story that you mentioned that I was saving for later in our conversation. You said you found God. Why was that transformational in your process regarding your struggle with your gender identity? So it was something that I really needed and I got to a point, you know, for most of these people have mental health struggles that are changing their gender that are non binary, you know, many of them and firstly doctors should have a duty of care, you know, they should be looking at these factors. We're seeing many kids that have autism, many kids that have depression or suicidal tendencies. They are being diagnosed with gender dysphoria and being medically transitioned. So, you know, I suffered with depression, I suffered with body dysmorphia for most of my life. I've managed to overcome that now, but really going to church helped me overcome that because I was so lost, I was like a lost sheep alone in the wilderness, which is what many of these kids are the transitioning. They're welcomed into this cult, this trans girl, and then suddenly they're outcasts. So I was very confused I was very lost and just going to church gave me solace. It gave me meaning in life. And I've been missing that meaning my whole life. You know, I've been struggling with identity, but it was almost in reflection and narcissistic pursuits. I just wanted to look a certain way. I wanted to change every single detail about me, and I realized, you know, God made me and God makes all of us way done. So exactly. So why on earth should I or anybody be trying to change that? Instead, it should focus on what's inside and also focus on kindness as I've learned from many of the stories with Jesus, you know, when he went to cleanse the leper

Red Dawn: A Look Back at the Actors in This Cold War Masterpiece
"Let's start with the stars. Let's talk about the acting, the fact that these were kids, it was the first movie for Charlie Sheen, Swayze is the leader's jet. Told us, as an actor, talk to us, the performances. Yeah, I mean, these guys were young. They were all young in the behind the scenes documentary. They were all talking about how they didn't know what they were doing. You know, Swayze was the only one with any real experience. And so he kind of quasi trained the other actors. And milius said to Swayze call him off and said, you're my general, you're my lieutenant. So I'm not going to talk to these kids. You're in charge. You are in the wilderness in the mesa. And you have to be the father figure. And what was crazy was that I think Patrick Smith says he had got frostbite. And they all talked about that. They were all just dying. Right. I mean, legitimately like freezing to death and but they were so passionate about making movies and being actors and stuff they were willing to suffer through that and it seemed to me like they'd never ever again after that experience such a difficult shoot. This is the first thing I wrote down when I watched because I love them. I actually like the making. I'm such a geek. I love the making of more than I like the movies sometimes. And they interviewed every character sir Thomas Howell Thomson gray, Swayze. Every single one of these kids said it was horrific, literally frostbite, and they say it was the greatest experience I've had working in a movie. How crazy is that? Running around. I loved every second of it. Learning how to shoot machine guns. Took them to actually shoot real machine guns, see Thomas Hal turns out. He's a country kid who knew how to ride. He taught them all how to be cowboys. It's just funny because he doesn't look like. No, but if you see at the end, the horse handling, the way Swayze is controlling that horse, the way Leah, these people look by the end of the movie. Pros, like, rough riders.

"Has it been like since the early 90s since 84 to today? Are you like, you feel like Churchill, a voice in the wilderness in this city? I've been thinking a lot about that because I've gotten a lot older and I wonder if I'm able to make a difference. I mean, I've come here when I came here in the debt was $1.5 trillion. Now it's 31.5 trillion. And folks, you can't just blame this on the Democrats. It goes up in a Republican's Democrats because politicians love to spend money. That's all there is to it. And the Republicans are more fiscally conservative, but not much. And so I'm a big believer we need institutional restraints on government to make sure that we don't go bankrupt.

Your Daily Prayer
A Prayer for Newness
"Our regrets tempt us to spend too much time dwelling on the past and all the mistakes it holds. It becomes a wilderness filled with thorns and danger. People serve as reminders, places take us back in time and in an instant. We feel our thoughts spiral out of control, but God. He promises to make a way through the wilderness, and not only does he guide us through it, he also somehow makes it a place of beauty. If we can let him lead us from regret to a place of remembering not, we discover so much. We discover the power of forgiveness, we receive forgiveness and extend it. We learn about joy and suffering and how we can hold them in the same hand. We give him full access to every part of our heart, the good, the bad and the ugly, and submit to his administrations. He refines us, yes, this sometimes involves walking through the wilderness we thought we left far behind. But this time, we walk with eyes wide open to the newness he creates. With his help, we can see where bitter places grew the fruit of forgiveness and surrender. We forgive ourselves for our mistakes, and we forgive others for their trespasses against us. We see how surrender bloomed into a beautiful trust that the lord is good and what he does is good. And when we look back, we remember God's faithfulness to make a way in the wilderness and to provide what we need for spiritual sustenance in the desert. If your regrets proved to be overwhelming, release them to the lord, allow him to meet you right where you are, just as Jesus met Peter on the beach after Jesus rose from the dead. Go to him the way Peter ran to him, fall at his feet and receive from him, in him all things are made new. Let's pray. Holy God. I feel stuck in the wilderness of regret. I'm lost as I remember things I would rather forget. But in you is newness of life, you promise to do a new thing. I'm ready for it, lord. I stand with eyes wide open to what you're about to do. I'm looking for a new time of forgiveness, blessing, restoration, and your presence. So I'm going to praise you right now in this moment because I believe that you've made me new. In Jesus name, amen.

"Story, Joseph back home? Yeah. Well, thanks, Eric. And I'm a Washington state native. That's really where I have come from. Graduated from the University of Washington went to law school there at Seattle university, which is a Jesuit school, but it's just a secular, as the University of Washington ever was during my time there. And when you grow up in that environment in Washington state, which I think most people understand is a pretty secular, left leaning place. It's kind of a wilderness for those of us who are biblical conservatives. And I ended up running a social conservative nonprofit advocacy group there in Washington state for ten years. And so I was part of a lot of the current debates around marriage and gender. And so I really, you know, U dub, the University of Washington really kind of initiated me into how a world that I wasn't raised in thinks, but then I really got to spend a lot of time in I work in the legislature there that around the legislature for a long time. And it really is kind of these culture war issues as we describe them and I still get to talk to them. I talk about them a lot as worldview issues. So I do think they are deadly serious in the sense that I think ideas matter a lot, which is why we talk about them and why worldview matters in the way we think. But the game that has been created is an attempt. It's a satirical game to be sure, but it has a very serious point to help people understand kind of the insanity of this world where truth doesn't matter the most important thing about you is things that are superficial that can change. What can change? What can't change about you? We tried to illustrate kind of what the rules of wokeness are. But it really is this kind of evolution that I've been through of kind of learning. How does this world think? And how do we understand it? Not just to make fun of it, but so that we can, that we can respond to lies with truth.

Jim Hanson: Talk Radio Saved the Conservative Voice
"Jim, we have so much a two discuss, but you are an expert in not just a kinetic warfare, meaning physical warfare being led on target steel on target. But also information warfare. You've written about this in your past books. Can you just give us a kind of one on one on what it is conservative media? So the only thing we own is talk radio. I mean, if you're a bag of hate, you can't do talk radio. The leftists try it again and again and again. They always crash. I mean, three hours of screaming and ranting doesn't really work. We thanks to rush and everybody else and my colleagues are sailing. We own talk radio. But it's not enough. So as we see conservatives, whether it's a daily wire, whether it's Salem or others, venture into these other platforms that where there's this left wing domination, what is it they're missing and what should we be concentrating on to leverage our skills? Yeah, no, you're absolutely right. Talk radio saved us. We had nothing. Talk radio was the voice in the wilderness coming on your car while you're driving around. And it kept all of us sane. Now, that is not going to be where the next generations get their information. They get it online. They scroll a feed and we have to be in whatever feed and all of the feeds that are being fed into their little minds. And you might just recommend a bumper sticker. Absolutely. We need to be in the feed. Hey. I can do IO. Right on. I just sell it at the gorgeous store. But that's where it is. That's where they decide, you know, in before. When you spun the radio dial, oh, I hate that song. What's the next station? Now I want to hear that song. It's the same thing that when they're scrolling to a feed, that's what they're doing. They're looking for something to catch their interest. So how do we, as conservatives, package our message for all of the many platforms in a way that gets the attention of the people who use that platform.

President Trump's Popularity on the Rise Across Polls
"Trump's lead over Biden over desantis over everybody widens, you know why? Because people are like, well, they were going after him again for the wrong reasons. Everybody's got classified documents. Biden, you know. Trump Pence is Obama going to be next. What about Hillary? What kind of classified documents does Hillary Clinton have? Well, we know what she does with stuff that she shouldn't have. She gets out the hammers and the bleach bit and she knows how to destroy it. I guess Mike Pence wasn't really good at bleach bit. Even Trump said, Pence hasn't done anything wrong in his life. Leave the guy alone. This weekend, president Trump is going to be in South Carolina right him off at your own peril. Because guess what? Guess what? He's coming back. There's just no way. Have you seen these polls? Emerson and Harvard and USA Today, he beats everybody. Now, in the middle of where we are with Trump supposedly in the wilderness, he shouldn't be beating the county commissioner in picking South Carolina. He should be just underwater. Why do you suppose Trump wins in all of these polls? The media won't touch this with a ten foot pole. They don't want to go anywhere near Trump's popularity with the American people.

A Meditation on Luke 7:24-30 for Thursday of the 3rd Week of Advent
"For the next few moments, surrender all the cares and concerns of the stay to the lord. Say slowly, from your heart, Jesus. I trust in you. You. Take over. Become aware that he is with you. Looking upon you with love. Wanting to be heard, deep within your heart. From the holy gospel of Luke, chapter 7 versus 24 to 30. When John's messengers had gone, Jesus began to talk to the people about John. What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A Reed swaying in the breeze? No. Then what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes. Oh no. Those who go in for fine clothes and live luxuriously are to be found at court. Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you. And much more than a prophet he is the one of whom scripture says, see, I am going to send my messenger before you. He will prepare the way before you. I tell you, of all the children born of women, there is no one greater than John, yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he is. All the people who heard him and the tax collectors too acknowledged God's plan by accepting baptism from John. But by refusing baptism from him, the pharisees and the lawyers had thwarted what God had in mind for them. What word made this passage come alive for you? What did you sense the lord saying to you?

Live Behind The Veil
Relationship Based On Thanksgiving - burst 1
"Welcome to live behind the veil and atmosphere where men and women of God speak his word to this age and bring his kingdom to this earth. Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see what God is doing in this hour? Let us join our host and the family's conversation as the Holy Spirit is unfolding. The word behind the veil. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving. Let your request be made known unto God. Hi, everyone. I'm Ron your host, and today we're talking about being thankful in all things in our lives. Being thankful is not always easy, but it is a learned response. Being thankful, places God, in control over our lives and shows him that we trust him. Grace after meal, that is where the promise of when your crops will grow for the next season. Is if you give thanks after meal. I think that is an example of what Thanksgiving is supposed to be. It says give thanks and all things. And so it's the little itty bitty, I stud my toe, thank you, lord. Yeah. That's probably a tough one right there. Into the major, someone says you've just been diagnosed with cancer, you're going to die in three days, you know. Thank you, lord. Thank you. No, it's because we have no control over much of anything. We think we're like the cat's meow on this planet, and my goodness. We are so subjected to so many things. That we have no control over this. But in giving him thanks. Yes, it gives him control over those things. Right. That we do not. You know, Alan too, it also, to me, becoming real to me is it's telling the lord that he is the lord, and that you recognize him as the lord. And that you are thanking him because you're saying your plan, whether I understand it or not, or even like it or not. I am praising you, I'm worshiping you. You bet. And your perception about life's going to change. I like what you were saying about grace after meal now and because if you look at it, look at where we're at today in Christianity you might say, we talk about blessing the food before weed. We thank God for the hands of prepared it and we bless it to be nutritious. And that gives us a certain perspective that the food we're looking at on the table. But grace after real gives you a whole new perspective. Because now you're a partaker of that meal, and because of that, our Thanksgiving is far more effective. You can thank God for something you don't have in anticipation of appropriating it and receiving it. But even greater should be your Thanksgiving be, when you receive it. Thanksgiving, as we mature in our ability to be thankful, it gives us an attitude that's different. And that's based on grace after meal, because actually what we're doing is we're growing in our attitude towards God, he's created a people who love him, want a worship him, want to be thankful, and in return, he gives back to you a relationship, built upon Thanksgiving. You can't really have thankfulness for everything unless you really have learned to trust the lord, and it's a thing of openness. And an assurance that God is impotent, and he is looking over you as a father, and he loves you. And if you can trust that, more than anything else that comes to your mind, whether you're going through something bad or something good comes to a real thankfulness and appraise, and that's what God is looking for. I think you hit something really important, sandy, because not only, you know, what we've been kind of mentioning is being thankful for all the bad things and all the things that happened, but the children of Israel kind of forgot about giving thanks about all the good things God did for them. When they were in the wilderness, my God, they were complaining about everything, and they forgot to give them thanks for what he had done, and what he was doing. We need to give thanks in all things. The good, the bad, the ugly, everything, everything. Yeah. You know what? If you start living in that realm, I think it's taking you out of the human, reasoning realm, and it's also taking you out of being dominated by your emotions and your feelings. I don't think we realize how much we're dominated as human beings by our emotions. Or our circumstances or our reason. Those three things really dominate our life or can dominate our life. I think it's a principle. And I think there's an initiative that we have, as believers, first off we have to trust, we have to believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seeking. We have to trust him, well, there's a lot of things that trust him on right now if he asks me. Because there's a lot going on out there that I wouldn't agree with on one level. I wouldn't agree with it. I don't like it. I don't agree with it. But I have to trust the lord. I don't have to. I determined to trust you. Yes. Yes. It's a thing of faith and trust. It's a huge change. In the way of life, but I think that it keeps your spirit right, your attitude, right? If you're just loving him as a loving father, and trusting him, and thanking him, and it's an expression, you have to express something right, and all day long, things go on with your life, relationships, circumstances, whatever goes on, and you have that choice, 24/7, how are you going to express what's in your circumstances? Right. Okay, just like Ed and Deb. Air conditioner went down. They could be moaning and complaining, be upset, why is this happening to us or you know why now? We just got back from being the Texas and now here we are. We come home and we find our air conditioner and it's hotter than heck in the house and we can't sleep and so you could have that attitude. It's a choice. Or you can go yeah, it's all those things, but I choose to voice my thankfulness. I choose to voice my trust in the lord and out of this, you know, whatever comes out of it comes out of it because he's in my life. And he is, he is so much in our lives. Right. And he is in control. And I know that. And I trust in that, and I believe in that. And I remind myself, I have to remind myself, sometimes, when I feel overwhelmed by certain things, that the lord is allowing things for a purpose, and I may not see or know why I may not know how he's going to do it. I don't know anything, but I do know that he is faithful. And he is true, and his word is through. And I believe in his word, and I trust in his word, I trust in who he is, and isn't integrity is more important than anything else. For each one of us, he has the best, even though it doesn't feel like it, sometimes. Start thanking him for the things that you have. And just worship it for who he is. Being thankful and having a Thanksgiving in our hearts is a form of worship. There are many, many aspects to worship. I mean, if you look at what Ron was saying, what's going on in the world right now, you know, you could call it a worldwide brownout, the world is facing the four horsemen of revelation. People are afraid, plagues are breaking out, men's hard or failing them for fear, right? Right. But it's the way it's supposed to be, but what are we doing? Right? We're looking up because we know our redemption is drawing nigh, and we're worshiping the lord, the thing of thankfulness is truly an expression I looked it up one of the things of Thanksgiving is gratitude. The word Thanksgiving gratitude there so many words that describe it, but it's how you act, and somehow when you take that extra step. There's something extra comes with it. There's a sincerity and honesty and importation, take a person by the hand, look them in the eye. Say, you know, I really thank you for that. I feel I felt your heart as you expressed what you were saying. It becomes an exchange of relationships. And see, that's what we want with the father in our Thanksgiving in our praise in our worship. We want that exchange. With the father, we're not worshiping a far off. Where worshiping at the foot of his throne, as you learn and come into a relationship with the father, you learn what he wants, you learn what he expects. And that's what we are learning is what God is expecting from us. He's given us so much. In my life, and I think in many people's lives, you don't feel thankful through your day. Right. It's not a feeling. That's true. You know what I'm saying? Your emotions are not and your feelings, and even your reason doesn't line up to what God wants, from your heart, and that's why I think you have to start with a set of heart, a set of will. I'm going to be thankful today, no matter how I feel, no matter what transpires through the day, you have to start at least I do. Yeah, oh, I do too. You got to set your will. That doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be easy. By any means, but it is a set. I think of your heart first. I think as you keep doing it, it becomes easier. So it's a matter of deciding that, of course, I trust the lord, and of course I love him, and I know that he's wanting the best for me. So as you keep practicing it, it becomes easier and easier. Being anxious for nothing. But in everything by prayer and supplication, with Thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Are giving of thanks to him in control of our lives. We really can not be thankful unless we've learned to trust him, our thankfulness in all things is our expression of worship and through this our father is directing our lives. Live Behind The Veil
A highlight from An Example Of Loving Our Neighbor
"And atmosphere where men and women of God speak his word to this age and bring his kingdom to this earth. Do you have ears to hear and eyes to see what God is doing in this hour? Let us join our host and the family's conversation as the Holy Spirit is unfolding. The word behind the veil. Hello podcasters, this is Ron you're host and tonight, we have a new family podcast member sandy Johnson. Hey, sandy. Hey, sandy. Hey, I just want to. I want to say that sandy and I have known each other for decades. Many decades. And I'm telling you, she is an incredible woman of God and she really has something to share. I'm anticipating the participation of her and the continued participation with Laurie and if Jim decides to come on then with him also, you know, the family is growing and I'm very excited about it. Well, family. Sounds like we're ready to go. Let's dive into the flow of the Holy Spirit. If a brother or sister, without clothing, and in need of daily food, and if one of you says to them, go in peace, be warmed and be filled. And yet you do not give them what is necessary. For their body, what use is, it's like saying bless you, be gone, you know, we love you. Take a hike. There is an expression God solo the whole world Christ when he moved around. He was moved with compassion for somebody. When we see a need, we should address it. Don't just, boy, I hope someone comes and gives you a $5 bill so you can go to McDonald's and have a lunch. No. Find what the real need is and let's find a way to support that need. What you did to the list of these, my brother, you did it to me, when did we visit you in jail? When did we give you clothes? When you did it to the least of these, that's faith, is seeing a need and addressing it. Now, we've heard the term, infinite God loves you. Okay, you know what? It's God through me loves you and hears his expression of how he loves you. I carry him with me wherever I go, and so I want people to be introduced to who the father is, because I care enough to dress a situation that someone is in need that you can help. If you can't help, ask the lord, show you. Is there a means? Is there some other place? Take it with a grocery store and buy them 20 bucks of groceries or something. It's that giving. It's the making things alive for someone else our heart can reach out to so many just because we take compassion on someone and address a need that they have. What makes that work, Alan is judge not lest you be judged. Right. Because who are we to come up to a situation? And judge it and then act accordingly. Our responsibility is to come and give of ourselves. Yeah. Without pre determining what is needed. Because the Holy Spirit will lead us. The Holy Spirit will fill our mouths our hearts. We humble ourselves, and that lets God come through. Yes. You know, how do we know the things that are happening in people's lives, this can be God dealing with them? We don't want to mess with that. We don't want to say, oh, you need to do this and you need to repent here and repent there. We just want them to open their heart to the Holy Spirit, open their heart to the father, and let God minister to them. I think we have to be led of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Then we will do the things that God has for us to do. If we start off our day, asking for the Holy Spirit to lead us to direct us, then we're going to be led of the spirit to those that the lord has prepared. You know, it's interesting you say that because I kind of take what Smith wigglesworth brought out once. Yeah. And he said, if I'm out in town, and I see a need, I'm headed over that way and God better meet me there because I'm going in his name. Because he was a man of the Holy Spirit, right? He didn't care if he was led to go talk to that person or not. He went to that person. But if I start out my day, leaving to be led of the Holy Spirit, then I'm believing that whatever I come across, that's going to be led at the Holy Spirit. Yeah, I agree with you. I see a knee, and I'm going to manage to turn that belief of the Holy Spirit and the lord to be there because I'm there. Yeah, I had a couple of experiences I wanted to share many years ago. I went with my daughter to go see my dad and step mom. They were elderly and the place was a mess. I mean, there was like knee deep trash and a little bathroom and the kitchen and everything and so my daughter and I started cleaning and got the place back in shape and when we were leaving my dad looked at me and said, you know, you guys didn't just come here. He says you brought something with you. And I had a similar experience when I retired I had to do an exit interview with the director of engineering and she was talking to me and stuff. She says, you know, you brought something here. Not something with you. And I think that people who are sensitive are going to see the lord. Yes. Yes. And who you are. It's not that you're, you know, was I perfect there? No, you know, but it just comes through. People know, it's not just you, you're bringing the lord with you. Yeah. Right. Exactly. I do feel like there are times when the Holy Spirit does specifically lead a person. Right. I've been finding that more and more. And you can confirm to yourself that it was the Holy Spirit when you see the results. When the lord leads you to talk to a person in a restaurant or just Sunday morning during the meet and greet that we had the Holy Spirit led me to this person who had been to the service several times, but I had never talked to her before. And I went over there, and by the time we were done, she was bawling on my shoulders. That wasn't me, that was the Holy Spirit, and I think, as we keep opening our hearts to the Holy Spirit. But it's because I knew the low Holy Spirit was leading me. And so exactly. Yeah, definitely you go there and you expect the Holy Spirit to be there, but there are those times when the Holy Spirit is specifically leading you, and what the human wants to do is to ignore it because you don't want to interfere with that person. But it is the Holy Spirit. I think you're talking a lot about awareness. Yeah. You can be in a crowd and like Christ, right when the woman touched his garment. Right. Who touched me? Because he was aware of what was going on around him. And what you're talking about isn't awareness. Holy Spirit. You want to administer somebody? Where? Who? Yeah. Which one of these people? Keep your radar open, and you know, you can be in a midst of a crowd talking, then you just know, I need to go over here. Right. I have left the middle of a conversation with someone to go meet somebody. And, boy, like you say, the results. Man, people open up. And there are people that I really don't want to listen to. But at the same time, who are they going to talk to? There are people who have issues because no body wants to hear their story, and sometimes you have to sit on a park bench and just let them talk. It will free somebody. And that's everything, and like you said, but I just want to go back to that awareness. It's being aware of where you're being led. And it's like almost like what I'm saying with what Smith did is sometimes you create it's your initiative. Father, I know the word, and I'm going to execute your word in this situation. Better meet me there because it's your word. Yeah. Can the lord minister that person? Of course he can. Well, are they open? Let's find out. It's one of the things that makes walking with God so exciting. Exactly. Because one minute you're kind of just floating along or whatever and the Holy Spirit will lead you to a person. Will lead you to a place, and then there is those times where you just knew what to do. Exactly. Because there is unawareness, and I would say there's something working in you. Things that are established. You don't stop and think to breathe. And I think the more we walk with God, the more his nature is imparted to us, that we do things that are automatic. It's fun to walk with God because we come to the place where we're willing to do what it takes. You know, take it back again to what sandy was talking about. And I love it because honestly, and we've talked about this before when Jesus received the spirit, he was compelled. Yes. He wasn't led by the spirit he was compelled by the spirit. He was driven into the wilderness. You minister, and you let God do it. You plant the seed and let God give the increase. You know, this conversation is creating such an excitement in me. Good. And I wanted everyone to know that everyone, no matter how old you are in the lord, has something to give. Yes, Matt, if you can approach this in your life where, you know, say you're going to a Sunday service, you ask the lord, well, what can I do? Who do you want me to meet and bless show me, you know? You can go with a servant's heart to give everywhere you go. I think that'll create something. You'll grow and develop. What's one of the key gifts of the spirit kindness? If you simply show kindness, you're expressing the lord to that person. When do we visit you in jail? When do we give you clothing when you did it to the least of these? That's faith, just saying we love someone and wishing them well isn't what we're called to do. There must be an action of faith to express our love and concern for our neighbor. Live Behind The Veil
A highlight from A Hunger Cry!
I'm on your host, and on this podcast, the family opens their hearts to the cry of the Holy Spirit. Where is the God of Elijah? Where is the God of miracles? Where is Jehovah? The right now God. Join us in our cry to our father for a greater appropriation of his presence in this earth. We draw the Holy Spirit tonight, and we ask him to show us to speak through us, we don't understand. But our heart is yearning to function and do what it is you're wanting us to do. So show us, show us, reveal to us, we're not going to be satisfied any more with just a taste, and I draw on the Holy Spirit to show us that the guide us, and to speak through us and let us really see what are you doing, tell us what you're doing, show us. Well, we open our hearts. Our hearts are yearning to want to do and be what the lord wants us to do and be in this earth. In the name of the lord Jesus Christ. We agree with that. Christ called it a mystery. The mystery of Christ in you. The hope of glory. That's what the voice spirit was to do. Reveal, reveal. The mysteries of Christ. So we asked your Holy Spirit, reveal the mysteries of Christ to us. Show us leaders direct us. Right. There is a need here. We need the Holy Spirit. We need the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I just cry out for it, lord. I cry out for it. You know, I want the Holy Spirit. The outpouring, the descending of the Holy Spirit. You know, we can read till we're blue in the face. We can quote scripture we can do all this stuff, but where is that reality of right now of it functioning? Where's the functionality of it? But in our mind, we think we have an answer. But you know, I don't believe that's the truth because we can not do it in our mind. We have to have the Holy Spirit show us and teach us, and guide us. I want that reality that simple scripture that says, these things will follow those who believe, it's not saying those who are miracle workers, or those who are this or that, it's those who believe the sick will be healed, will raise the dead, where is the lack of connection that we should have to see the reality of these things taking place. We lose the desire to know and to have it. God, in part to us a hunger for the Holy Spirit. Lord, I wanted, you know, I believe health on my own belief. Right. Right. I don't even want to have all the right answers about it. I don't care about the right answers. Care about the outpouring of Holy Spirit. It'll be evident yes. Very it's time for reaching in. You know, I want to be able to say, we better run because that is a promise the size of a man's hand, and we better run because it's going to be a day of the fact that I know that was Elijah talking about The Rain. You know, I don't care about that. I want the reality of what is a spirit leading right now. What is he trying to kick us in the pants for? Christ was not led. He was a driven. Driven. He didn't wake up and go or father lead me today. What do you speak? He was driven by the Holy Spirit. He was little driven. It was no question. I've experienced tastes of that. Did I have to do something? I have to do it. And I get up and I go do it. Because I feel compelled to do it. Driven to do it. But it's few and far between. Lifestyle. That should be the way we're moving all the time. One of the things that we can do appropriate the answer, and then let that appropriation have an expression, you speaking about him being driven. Where did he get that? He got it from his father. And it was like you just said Alan, it was from spirit. To spirit. This when the spirit fell on him at Jordan. Right, that's when he was first driven to go into the wilderness. Where is the fruits from the spirit? That's what I'm asking. That's what I'm looking for. I want to know, I want to walk in those. It doesn't matter how many hours a day I wait on the lord, how many hours a day I pray, how many hours a day I be in the word, it still needs to work. For me, it's not good enough. That it works in the spirit, where I can't see it. I live here on this Terra firma. In this part of my body, God made too. He made all three realms, my soul, my body, and my spirit. I am beside myself because we talked about this for 40 years. It's kind of like God's going, well, how long will you put up with this? How long are you going to put up with not seeing my word manifested? In the earth. Just imagine for a second. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit happens, and it doesn't stop happening. Right. Exactly. But we're believing for that baptism of the Holy Spirit where he comes and he is so much more real than the air we breathe. And that he is leading us compelling us driving us to say or to do whatever, and out of that compulsion, things start to take place. But I don't want it just to be a talk on what somehow we can touch him. Where he hears our heart cry, he hears it, and takes notice, I need an overflow of the Holy Spirit. I would, from elisha, where is the God of Elijah? That's that is our cry. Where is the God that's making things happen? You know, where's the God of Elijah, where brought down fire after he doused those altars with so much water. Where's that God? Or is the God who, who parted the Red Sea, who caused all the ten gods of Egypt to die. That's the God I want to see. That's the God I want to hear from. I don't want to be satisfied with just a puny little portion. If I am asking for an avalanche, I don't want to get satisfied for a thimble. We accept two little from God. God is very good about that. He'll give you a thimble full and see if you'll leave him alone. But it's only the beginning. I want to know his ways so much. I think it's his drive. He wants this in us, and were finally giving it an expression. Together, instead of just one or two, my focus is him, and crying out to him going, I need more of you. I need the Holy Spirit because how the heck am I going to be a channel to bring forth your kingdom which I understand is the bottom line? That's what you put me here for. To bring forth your kingdom in the earth, I can't do that with what little I have. I just can't, I can't follow the pattern of Christ. I can't. Christ couldn't follow it. He had to have the fullness of the Holy Spirit. I'm no better than him. Just like the disciples, there were bundling idiots. They're just like us. Until they had the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Of their something happened to those guys. Dramatic. Because they changed. You know, and excuse me if this is offensive, but it's not about me. We're not going to get ripped off. Right. You know, we're not going to be just like the guys in hebrews. They had faith, but they never got to promise. Exactly. They didn't get the promise, guys. You read hebrews. You read about Jesus, you know, we sing a song. That he would get his reward. I don't want to see another generation have to come and go. I want to see that fulfillment happen. I want Christ to get his reward. I want to see the fulfillment of everything he spoken on this earth to take place. I want to see those fulfillments. It's not about us. Never has been, aren't we his reward? We are. Experiencing the impartation of God's word through his family is life. "The realization in the self awareness on myself is huge. TJ, I can see that you have things that you want to say. And I want to hear your perspective of the flip side. I was just saying that it sounds like she went to wilderness therapy. I don't know how you express that in such coherent terms because it's a hard thing to express. Yeah, the therapy really is woven into all parts of it because just even living out there in backpacking, I'm sure that I'm not really sure what the history of the people that started with the first wilderness therapy, but I'm sure that they understood that even living out in the wilderness. It brings with it a therapy in a way. You know it being a sense just I've never gone to wilderness therapy. And I haven't done an official backpacking trip yet plan to. I've done hiking, though. And one thing that I know about hiking and longer hikes is there are times it sucks. There are times it is physically uncomfortable, mentally, you are not having fun anymore. But there's something to be said. You do it, and then you realize, okay, I can survive hard things. And I can see how simply that part of the wilderness is valuable. And then you add in all those other layers, of course, of actual, you know, emotional support and skills learning in group experiences. Yeah, yeah, it wilderness therapy is like that time is a hundred. Yeah, it's because you're out there in the wilderness, hiking in either the snow or the hot summer. It is honestly miserable a lot like a good amount of the time. It's hard. It's not an easy. It's not an easy experience, but it is not a luxury, glamping experience, is it?.

"His shed blood. I'm not living with doubts. I'm not living with fear because fear is to expect punishment. I don't expect punishment. From jesus. I have repented of every known sin. I have surrendered to him. I am walking out in this desert under that cloud under that cloud of god's covering the and he is feeding me the man of heaven and i'm on my way to the promise land. I'm on my way to canaan land. Now we're going to walk together in the coming days. She was a story of the children of israel in the desert. This is a blueprint a how we must also walk and pointing out. What they did that resulted in their dying in the wilderness. Even though they walked under the cloud of god's protection they utterly rejected his discipline. They would not believe in him. They were angry that they had to walk in the wilderness. They wanted the world and finally god said. I'm not going to let you have the world. I'm going to just cause you to die in this wilderness in your children will go into the promise. Land all my brother my sister. I don't wanna die in the wilderness. Under the hand of god's judgment i don't wanna walk in the wilderness questioning and doubting and not believing the word of god. I don't wanna go exploring. And seeing if i can find the quayle on my own. I don't wanna go see if i can find a short cut to qena land. The amici are out there and they kill the stragglers. I wanna walk boldly in the name of jesus. Christ i wanna live righteously by the power of his blood. I want no known rebellion or sin in my heart. I'm not going to lust after money or cars or houses or clothing. I'm going to walk clean in the blood of jesus by the power of his blood now please. Salvation requires two things one. It requires an atoning lamb. And jesus is my atoning. Lamb read revelation the fifth chapter and secondly it requires the lion of the tribe of judah who was all almighty and all powerful it is the lion and the lamb of jesus christ that is provided this glorious place for us to walk through in victory in the wilderness even though it looks like we may die in the wilderness. If i die in the wilderness. Because jesus has not yet come i will be taken swiftly into the presence of my lord i will not be cast into prison to wait for the final judgment and i challenge you right now in the name of jesus christ will you surrender your life and walk through the world as though it were a wilderness. Will you turn aside from its entertainment. Will you turn aside from you. Think the world has to offer you stop sucking on the teat of the world the devil and will you eat the broken bread of jesus christ broken body. Will you drink his blood. Will you utterly totally completely surrender right now to jesus christ or will you walk like the children of israel in unbe leaf in disobedience and rebellion against the most high. God will you give up playing christian. Will you get on your face and confess your since before almighty god and will you stay there until he tells you he has forgiven you and he has washed you. Will you allow lamb of god. The wash away your sins. Will you allow the line of the tribe of judah to take you in victory to walk with him. In purity of heart the lord does not desire to condemn you were there is no condemnation for those who are in christ. Jesus will you decide now. Almighty god the decision is right there before every person listening and they must either run away from this broadcast and turn it off and not come again or they must decide to lay down their weapons of war and surrender everything to you. Jesus and trust you to carry them through this wilderness journey to feed you to protect you to clothes you lord would you. Would you cause them to trust you to do these things. Will you turn aside from all that is of the world the flesh and the devil and will you testify to a brother to assist a friend someone. Would you go testify them. That you have decided today that you will follow jesus and you will walk through this wilderness with your head held high and you appraise the name of jesus christ and you will serve him and him alone. You will be his servant. Lord move now in the hearts of your children to make this decision and cause them to seal it with confession of sin repents and bows of loyalty to you. jesus christ i pray in your name amen. Welcome if you made that covenant. Welcome to the desert to the wilderness will walk together to king land. I wanna thank those of you. Who have been giving and covering the cost of doing this radio broadcast. I cannot thank you enough. I'm humbled by your gifts. I don't take one gift for granted. "Our hearts. And i'd be real on some of you satisfy the longing of your hearts with violent movies with illicit sex with pornography. Some of you satisfied the longing of your heart with watching professional sports by going after the money. Your heart is filled with anger and bitterness. You're very very busy searching after everything the world can give you you suck on the teat of the world and yet you claim your chris. That's not what a christian does we're going to face in the near future. Some very violent and difficult times in america. God is going to bring judgment upon this nation the judgments we've seen so far have been very mild. Compared to the judgements that are coming. How are you going to whether those judgments. How are you going to weather. The wicked government doing lockdowns demanding masks and demanding jabs with illicit substance. That is very dangerous for your life. How are you going to face the mark of the beast. it's coming. How are you going to handle when they say you can't buy or sell if you don't have this mark. Do you have a relationship with jesus. Christ we're you. Trust him where you eat his broken body and you drink his spilled blood and you walk in victory over the world the flesh and the devil and your powerful in your testimony and in your spirit. I received a call from a precious believer who listens every day as we spoke about the lord. She said to me talking with you. Pastor about the lord of sitting down to a wonderful meal i feast on the things of god. She just went through a very long fast and she. The glory of god revealed her she sought the glory of god she recognizes she's walking through a barren land and there is nothing in this world that satisfies the cry of or heart. She belongs to jesus and her testimony is so bold wherever she goes she goes to the grocery store and there she witnesses and talks about jesus her workplace people now are coming to her and asking for prayer and asking for advice because she's become so powerful the spirit in her testimony inner witness she is connected to the heavenly vine. She's not sucking off the teat of the world. She is feasting on the broken body and spill blood of jesus and he's providing for her of meal in the desert. Now less you think that my hardest sorrowful as i walked through this wilderness since hardest filled with joy. Yes i face very real problems. I face financial needs. I face health issues. I face problems with our with our setup that allows me to come and broadcast on the radio and also live on the streaming internet have family members who curse me who think i'm a fool for following jesus the way high to some have not spoken to me for very long time. I've lost friends and family. But in all of this i rejoice it hurts and then i laughed with joy as jesus comes and pours in the oil in the behind binds up my wounds i wanna be in the world. A wounded healer. Yes wounded by the devils eros. When i don't hold up strongly enough my shield of faith wounded. Yes by the the harshness of the world but in the midst of all of that my heart rejoices. I have the joy of the lord. I wake up in the morning with a song on my lips and words of praise for jesus i go to bed at night. I fall asleep quickly because i'm praising jesus and worshipping him as i drift off into my sleep through the day i'm reading. The scripture ministering to people. I'm praying i'm fasting. I'm waiting on the lord. He's made some phenomenal promises to me. And i'm standing by faith. At every one of those promises will be fulfilled in the name of jesus and by.

"Been utterly deceived. I received a call yesterday after the broadcast from one deer believer. Who said to me pastor. I've been listening for awhile. And i have to tell you. I've been utterly deceived. I've been lied to by preachers. They've not taught me the truth and this tier believer is now waking up waking up to the fact that jesus is everything for her waking up to the fact that she can't continue to walk in her sin and indifference and enjoy the flesh but now she must turn to jesus with oliver hart praised god for this precious woman. A man called me this morning one of our listeners. You said pastor. i'm angry. I said why are you angry. He said because. I'm not getting what i want. I'm not getting the things i want in my life. I'm not being successful. Like i need to be in my business. I'm not having the relationships in the friendships. That i want. I want to live a normal american life and my normal american life is not taking place instead on having troubles constantly. I'm constantly faced with difficulties. Why why does god treat me this way. It was all. I could do to hold my peace. I didn't do a very good job. I listened as he moaned and groaned and complained against god and finally i said to him. You've listened to me and you've watched my testimony. You've listened to my testimony. You've seen how i live. I do not live for what i can get out of. Jesus christ you've seen me go through deep trauma by wife my precious wife. Jan died in my arms of cancer. You watched me. You knew me. Then you've watched as as i've had difficulty after difficulty. Have you ever heard one word of grumbling from my mouth. No you have not and never will. Because i don't serve jesus for what i can get out of him. I served jesus because he is worthy to be served. I served jesus because he has loved me. And he's lifted me up out of the darkness and he's made me a citizen of the kingdom above. I don't serve. Jesus so i won't have troubles in this life. I served jesus because in every trouble. He comforts my heart and carries me through to victory. These light and momentary problems. That i have in my life are nothing compared to what jesus christ suffered on the cross. It's a pleasure for me to go through hardships in this life and in this world because i know that they will bring a great reward on the other side when he didn't like my answer he said. Well i just don't want anybody to control me. And the way you preach pastor you talk about the holy spirit having to control every action you take. I don't want the holy spirit to control me. I want to be in charge of my own life. I said then. Please don't let me stop you. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Go serve the devil and go to hell because that's where you're going. I said some more things that we're very straight very honest. And i said i have to get ready for radio today. I'm going to bear testimony. I'm going to encourage people to walk with boldness through this wilderness journey and not pay any attention to what this world has to offer. I said i have to go and hung up just before coming on the air minutes before came on he called me to uca's call said pasture. I've repented i have surrendered. You're right. I was worshipping. Jesus only for what i could get and that is selfish. I don't wanna live like that. I am going to follow. Jesus i rejoiced with him and i prayed with him. I pray the victory sticks. They walked for three days in that wilderness and they could not find any water and they ran out serving. Jesus christ does not rescue us from the painful trials of this world. When you become a follower of jesus christ you are volunteering to journey through a desert land with snakes and scorpions and you may face death in that land. All my blessed lord walked this path before us. We cannot walk expecting jesus to only bless us. If that were true our heart would not be tested remember. I said there are two purposes for us to go through the wilderness journey. The first purpose is to expose the selfishness and the flesh of.

"Perverse evil thing in america. I tell you very honestly until you very straight. America is the world it is the wilderness and in the coming weeks. We're going to see everything turned upside down. We're going to see a total total change through september october and into november. We're going to see terrifying. Things happen in america biden administration will be swept away. God is angry with america. We see the judgments of god already released upon this nation. Fires storms floods volcanoes hurricanes tornadoes earthquakes. And now the hand of god has been withdrawn from our military force. I am grieved for but it is no longer loyal to jesus. Christ america has thumbed. Its nose it is the world. It is the wilderness. Don't look to america to satisfy the desires of your heart. Look to jesus. Into jesus alone he is our only hope. Now listen to more pink. The wilderness is the place of travellers journeying from country to another none but a madman would think of making his home there. Precisely such is this world and i would say precisely such is america. It is a place to which man journeys from time to eternity and faith. It is which makes the difference between the way in which men regard this world. The unbeliever for the most part is content to remain here in this wickedness. He settles down as though he were here to stay forever. Their inward thought is that their houses show continue forever and their dwelling places to all generations. They call their land after their name. Every effort is made to promote his earthly sojourn and when at last death claims him he is is loaf to leave it far different. Is it with the believer. The real believer. His home is not here. He looks for a city which have foundations whose builder and maker is god. Hebrews eleven ten consequently he is a stranger. And a pilgrim here. Hebrews eleven thirteen. Cannon was the country which god gave to abraham and his seed and the wilderness was simply a strange land through which they passed on their way to their inheritance and they went three days into the wilderness and they found no water. This is verse twenty two. This is the first lesson which are wilderness. life is designed to teach us. There is nothing down here which can any wise minister to that life which we have received from christ the pleasures of sin. The attractions of the world. No longer satisfy our hearts. The things which formally charmed now repel us the companionship. We used to find so pleasing. This companionship has become distasteful to us. The things which delight the ungodly only cause us to grown in our hearts the christian who is in communion with his lord finds absolutely nothing around him which can refresh his thirsty soul for him. The shallow systems of this world have run dry. His cry will be that on that of the psalmist. Oh god thou my god early. Will i seek the my soul thirst for the flesh. Longest for the in a dry and thirsty. Land were no water. Is some sixty three purse. One here is the believers resource. God alone can satisfy the longing of your heart just as i. He did the gracious word of the savior. If any man. I let him come unto me and drink so must the believer continued to go to jesus. Who alone has the water of life. That's gleaning an exodus. By arthur w pink. I love this brother is spoken truly. I want to be very clear with you today. I don't mean to offend. But i do mean to be very very straight. We've come to a time when we cannot speak soft and comforting words one to another. It's time for us to speak the truth boldly to one another and call one another to turn aside from the wilderness and to come into the ark of safety to come into jesus christ and have the power of god the wing of god covering us and protecting us from the world the flesh and the devil. If you somehow are still imagining that you can walk boldly in this world feasting on the things of darkness..

"The wilderness journey. And i'm going to again turn to this. Wonderful godly man. Who's now passed onto his reward. Arthur pink in his book gleaning in exodus. I wanna sure with you. His description of what the wilderness is all about. He says it in such an exemplary way. I could not say it. Nearly as well as arthur. Pink has said it now. As i said before i disagree with his calvinistic leanings but i- fellowship with him because he believes in holiness and he believes that if you walk in sin it's because you've never been saved i can fellowship that way john. Wesley was able to fellowship able to fellowship with with kelvin. Who believed in holiness. The issue is whether we believe in sinning christians or whether we are washed in the blood. Let me share with you. This is very exciting stuff. And then we're going to address very plainly the issue of walking in the wilderness. I am very conscious. That i am walking and have been now for many years in an utter wilderness. You're right. It is only when christians faith leasehold of his oneness with christ in his death and resurrection recognizing that he is a new creature in him that he becomes conscious of quote the wilderness unquote just in proportion as we apprehend our new standing before god and our position and our portion in his son. So will this world become to us a dreary and desolate wilderness to the natural man. The world offers much. That is attractive and alluring. but to the spiritual man all in is only vanity and vexation of spirit. To the eye of sense. There is much in the world that is pleasant and pleasing but the aia faith sees nothing but death written across the whole scene change and decay is all around it has much which ministers to the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life but nothing whatever for the new nature so far is the spiritual life is concerned the world is simply a wilderness barren and desolate. He's right the world has nothing to offer you not in its culture not in its music not an it's entertainment and if you're feasting on these things and you think you're walking with jesus but you have no concept of the desperate wilderness. You are in the new have missed it. I come heartbroken today for america. I come heartbroken for many americans who are caught in afghanistan. Some forty thousand or fifty thousand americans are caught in afghanistan and the the biden administration is not giving first priority to these americans rather. He's pushing them to the end of the line and they're bringing in thousands of of young men aged for war but who were cowardly and would not fight the taliban and they're bringing them as refuge refugees into america. The taliban has now begun going door to door. They are raping women. They are killing. Those who cooperated with americans. They are torturing they had brought an utterly violent brutal and wicked dictatorship to the people of aghanistan. I don't think we should have ever gone there in the first place. But we spent two point two trillion american dollars in that debacle. A friend of mine. Who is were years. A contract worker in afghanistan doing audits of the pentagon tells me of the countless numbers of dollars. Utterly wasted breaks my heart when i see america utterly failing. We've been at war for years not declared by congress but but declared by wicked men in the presidency wicked administrations who lied to the american people. This decay this violence. This untold mis use of our military. We have the best military in the world. I respect our men and women in uniform. I began my ministry is a as a naval chaplain. I love the military but this wicked joint chiefs of staff. They brought in every evil thing to the military trying to weaken and destroy it. Why did our military lose the war in afghanistan simply because evil policies were in place that restricted their ability to defend themselves many times. Our men and women were fighting with their hands tied behind their backs. They were not free even in the vietnam war. And i live through that ugly war. Our men and women of valor were shamed and.

"The israelites went through that red sea on dry ground was a wall of water on the right and on their left that day. The lord saved israel from the hands of the egyptians and israel saw the egyptians lying dead on the shore and when the israelites saw the great power the lord displayed against the egyptians the people feared the lord and put their trust in him and in moses his servant. Yes possible paulin. Corinthians says that they died that day and they were resurrected that day tells us that this was baptism they were now going to enter into the wilderness. But i they're going to sing a song of praise and worship before almighty god. I want to read that to you. This is one of the first songs ever recorded the loan recorded in the scripture. And what's so shocking about this song. That i'm going to share with you is that it's very plain. It's very elegant. It's very simple. It doesn't speak of of myths and dragons and uncertainties. No it's very certain it's cleanly written it comes straight from the heart of god through moses. I will sing to the lord for his highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea. The lord is my strengthened. My song he has become my salvation. He is my god. And i will praise him. My father's god. And i will exalt him. The lord is a warrior the lord is his name favorites cherry attend his army. He's hurled into the sea. The best of favors officers are drowned in the red sea. The deep waters have covered them. They sink to the depths. Like a stone your right hand. Lord was majestic and power. Your right hand. Lord shattered the enemy in the greatness of your majesty youth through down those who oppressed you. You unleashed your burning anger. It consumed them like stubble. But the blast your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood firm like a wall the deep waters congealed the heart of the sea. The enemy boasted. I will pursue. I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils. I will gorge myself on them. I will draw. My sword in my hand will destroy them. But you blew with your breath and the c covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. Who among the gods is like you. Lord who is like you majestic and holiness awesome and glory working wonders. You stretched out your right hand and the earth swallowed them. In unfailing love you lead the people who have that you have redeemed in your strength. You will guide them to your holy dwelling the nations will hear and tremble the anguish will grip the people phyllis to the chiefs of eden will be terrified. The leaders of moa will be seized with trembling. The people of qena will melt away tear and dread will fall upon them by the power of your arm. They will be still as stone until your people pass by lord until the people you brought pass by you will bring them in and you will plant them on the mountains of your inheritance the place. Oh lord you made for your dwelling the sanctuary award your hands established the lord will reign forever and ever mariam led the people in this chorus. Sing to the lord for. He has highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea. And moses led israel from the red sea and they went into the wilderness wilderness of sure and for three days. They traveled in the desert. Without finding water. the wilderness has a purpose. it has twofold purpose. I the wilderness is men after we are baptized into jesus. Christ after we have been resurrected in the newness of life we go to the wilderness. Always you cannot get to the promised. Land you cannot get to heaven without going through the wilderness now. The wilderness has two purposes. I it reveals to our hearts. Who are it uncovers all the wickedness the shallowness the meanness were uncovered by the holy spirit. The second thing that happens is the holy spirit by the power of jesus demonstrates for us his glorious love and mercy he removes every bondage he breaks all sin from our hearts. He sanctifies us holy completely. No if you have no awareness of what. I'm speaking of when i when i tell you of the wilderness. If you do not have an awareness of being in the wilderness today it is because you are still in the world now there are those who my sternly disagree with. Who believe that you when you're baptized into jesus. Christ are then free to go out and live your life pretty much as you choose. You can marry whomever you choose. You can walk as you choose as long as you're not committing over sin that of course they believe we all sit in. They have not rightly understood. The gospel of john chapter fifteen where. It's very clear that we must be connected to the vine that we have no life outside of the vine and that we must remain in jesus and that we are his servants. We are not free agents. We are not free to go and marry whomever we choose. Were not free to go out and live our life as we choose to live it. We are in jesus christ and we are in step with the holy spirit. But i wanna give you more understanding of what i'm speaking of. When i say.

And we get to know more about the programs. And the do's and don'ts a going on a barrel pick and speaking of barrel picks we have a lot going on. Don who writes me on fred. Minic dot com okay. I'd be lying to you. If i didn't say i wanted to be the above the char question. I'll ride george here you go. You're you're here on above the jar. What is your dental routine before competition tasting. Wow i've been asked a lot of things george. I don't think anyone's ever asked me about my dental routine First of all this is actually a great question early on in my career. I was around a lot of a master somali as and a lot of people who were in like wine tasting competitions and they would always tell me to not brush your teeth before a major tasting To don't eat any onions or things like that. And i remember weighing my my dental Prowess over my palate. And i would go through times of not. You know brushing my teeth and i would taste and i was like i felt like mike tastings were actually off when i didn't brush my teeth. And here's why there's a film you know there's like a gunk. There's a a grossness to your mouth when you don't brush your teeth daily or floss or use mouthwash now so you have a layer of like crap on there. I can't give you like the scientific terminology here. I can just give you that like when i don't brush my teeth. I got me some dragon brad. So i'm trying to prevent Dragon breath tasting scenario so Yeah i do brush my teeth. I use mouthwash i've lost. I mean i don't wanna be tasty and have last night stake hanging up in there. And the on the top half the decaying out and creating flavors on my palate and i just don't want that so what i have found over years of experimentation. Is that if. I don't take care of my proper enough. I don't take care of my teeth if i don't go through that process Then it will have a huge impact on my tasting for the negative. So i have no issues of whatsoever with brushing my teeth going through my daily stuff. What i've learned is when you try to change something then you screw your palate up and that's just my take Every taster is different. And you know when. I am doing competitions or be people who won't brush their teeth. Am i talking to them in close proximity absolutely not. But that's gonna do it for this week's above the char. Hey if you want to know about any my grooming techniques before tasting be like george. Hit me up fred. Mimic dot com. That's fred mimic dot com. And maybe you will be read on the next episode of bourbon pursuit. But that's do it out there. Everybody be safe out. There cheers back to burma pursuit. The official podcast of urban kenyan here today talking about one of the most favoured subjects that we get to talk about on this show and that is private barrel selections. We've got our own private barrel selection program we've done almost over a hundred of them now and it never gets old. That's the point is not. It's i mean it's the tours geld but not the barrel. There's nothing wrong with tasting more and more whiskey and so we're going to be joined here by two guys today that are gonna kinda give us an insight into more of the the nuances that you see behind the scenes of a barrel selection program. We've talked about barrel selection ryan you talked about being unicorns all time. Yeah i mean everybody used to get geeked out over a limited editions which is fine. But you know the true unicorns me are single barrel selections. It's y- you're getting your own. Pick your own peril and it's something you know. The perfect thing about bourbon is like with a single girl selection. It's never going to be replicated. You're never going to have the same. Would you're never going to have the same climate that you know that barrel experience for the forwarded however long it's been and so it's a truly unique barrel for for you or your grouper. Whoever is foreign. It's always special. On like i said they never get old. They're so much fun. And we talked about the experience a lot but we never talk about the actual people behind it and what they have to go to show up all right. Where's the whisky guys. But you know there's there's a lot of stuff that happens behind the scenes of actually going through taste testing and make sure these barrels fit the program and ling coordinated all these you know. I thought her cat if i was good at excel spreadsheets. Guys are probably masters at it. So there's all kinds of stuff they gotta deal with crap like that so let's go ahead and introduce our guest for today so today on the show. We have macaulay mitten. He calls himself the barrel guru over wilderness trail distillery and we have john way del he is the single barrel program curator over. Peerless guys welcome to the show. Thanks for having us. Yes thank you. So thanks for bringing whiskey. Yeah absolutely got it. We always unless we have single barrels with us ear ends a good. Peerless distilling We got an absence finish here. So it's getting crazy here now. Let's go ahead and we'll rammer station. Might get weird absently. Guitar have seen cake to. Yes dash that in. Yeah we need to look into that. "Will not be anxious in the year of drought nor will cease for yielding. Fruit it will still be about. Doing what is called to nomadic how things look like around it as long as his. Hold before you understand. The scripture says he who began a good work in you will carry on the completion. He will not forget the problems of the few. He knows the planes and purposes. He has few cecil. Prosper you not to harm you. Plans to give you a future in the wilderness will also awaken us to god's colony anointing. So this is where it really starts scapegoat. Okay because we get all those things right because not only are high attitude right so as we got older we are going to do is we are going to find the guy who used the wilderness to awake at this hauling in his appointees arrives matthew chapter four gives a scrape pitcher this. You don't have. We don't have you know when jesus was living by the holy spirit few baptize. And what happened. And i remember ever noticed that there was the holy spirit of it just used to walk on so court. The holy spirit led him into the wilderness. Fly to be tempted now. Does that go against some of the americanized gospel. We've heard or want. The holy spirit leads the son of god into the wilderness so that he can be tempted why so that he could be tested so he'd be true and when he passed the taps. Now here's the great thing about god's kingdom you never fail because if you feel the test you get to retake over and over and over again until you have right. Jesus when he passed the test says the angels came to minnesota. And then what happen is it came over this that when we see him. Starting to call his disciples. His ministry began the wilderness however had to come first but the wilderness released pointing to a whole new level. Jesus life now. Jesus favor with god and man up until this point yes he does scripture tells us up but there's something of an extra anointing to pour it out after he made it through the tested wellness how we handle tests in the weather's it will largely depend on how quickly not leather will perhaps. How quickly will be passed. I don't know about you. I don't want to wander in the wilderness for forty years so okay usually tend to do now. Let's not go there right but let us learn through us and then allow him to out the ads. We trust in him as stay true to him. And then lastly without calling to nineteen tied with being in the wilderness waking witness on his behalf mark chapter one versus one. Through seven to go screw pitch. This made her. This guy seems john the baptist. Be glad to your lunch. Today is his lunch right. Wild chapter one verse. Oppose the beginning of the gospel. Of jesus christ as god as it's written in the prophets behold i send my messenger before your face who will prepare your way before. That was big thing. This field old country to frontage on the voice of one crying where of the wilderness prepare the way of law makers passed straight john out -tising where in the wilderness in preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of since then other live judea and those from jerusalem went out to him and we're all baptized by him to the jordan river confessing their sins. Now john lewis clo- cable here with a leather belt. Honey if he preached saying they're close one answer me was mighty night sandal straps now whether willing to stoop down loose. I indeed baptize you. With water he will have ties you with holster in the midst of the wilderness. Terrace to be a living testimony. For god's grace. And god's hoard it gives us the right to speak into people's lives because of weeping in the wilderness where they offended the wilderness. Weary of saying my god has not forsaken me. he will now for saving you. People find themselves seeing the real guy because how many know. It's easy to play to play church on sunday morning. When everything's nice and everybody's trying to think in the same way the psalms or earlier into worship humming no but the hard times come true christian how we live our faith in those difficult moments just the world see our jesus if so they will be drawn to him whether he will reject him but they'll have to do one or the other there will be around. Where do you live with. Live out your testimony in the wilderness. Notice he was in the wilderness. He didn't leave the wilderness. The people came to people come to you when they see your living a true christian lock baby not understand what it is. I may be like what's with you or they may be a little bit more kosher out it'd be more like you know you be a piece all the time when everything's falling apart around you how well let me tell you how open and then they get a share of jesus little civilised but wilderness will give us the power and will give us the credibility to be able to speak that way into people's lives got a new day of wilderness awakenings hollow will let wake us up over and that saying that we are necessarily asleep but there's new level of revival pick months of reduce church and not just life on me. I'm seeing him doing this in the number of different churches that got some relationships with Across state lines even. There's there's a stirring in the body of christ that's taking place. There's a lot of little fire stars. bring up. i can't wait to see what happens when all those fires began to meet up with one another. Because there's gonna be a major blaze of glory is.

"In the missile that testify to the world. The fifth thing is in the wilderness will awaken us to the encouragement in the love of god. Speaking of the remnant of israel jeremiah. Chapter three one versus one report says at the same types of lord. I will be the god of all the families of israel and they shall be my people making say that because we are not necessarily israelite spot because jesus christ we now have access to the promise right to that they have so we can even say our selves yarns people and what a great plastic that says people who survived the sword. Ouch right the people who survived the sword found grace ill the wilderness israel. When i went to give him rest gobble meet us in the wilderness to give us a piece of us. We think about that piece this morning. The lord is appeared of ole to me saying yes i have loved you with an everlasting. Maybe saved those that have experienced sore. I know what you've gone through and no one you will you're dealing with. I know things don't feel fun. Things are feeling all that great right now but understand this mind. Love for use never changed my love for you as always steadfastly will always continue therefore with loving kindness. I've drawn you again. I will build you and you shall. Dv built over june of issue. What a title. Here's where you are now understand. Why are they there. Why are they fighting themselves in this williams because they disobey down because they saw after other gods they forgot the god of their fathers and so god had to bring them into a place of hardship in the midst of that heart. Saying my love for. You hasn't changed but not only there. I've drawn you again. I will build you. I will restore right but did catch the title. He uses old virgin of israel. He is speaking in this moment to people that have been disobedient have really committed spiritual adultery. And he's saying. I know what i know where you are. Yes you undergo this corruption but understand what breathe through the other end. We build you. I'm not remembering that stuff. You will be a virgin once again. And so this is the great news that we have a witness even if our own sin brings a signal voters in own mistakes british fan. God's love is so great and can wipe it. All he can restore factors never never encouraged and the also to hope in the promises of god in jeremiah. Chapter seventeen versus five eight regarding judah sit and punishment versus lord curses who trust in man in the flash is straight strength. There's a great warning. Don't trust and ourselves right. Don't try to make things happen on our own court. According to our own wisdom according to our own knowledge right. Because i trust in men in makes fleischer straight whose heart departs from the war so my own wisdom is actually a form of departing from the lord for he shall be what nike shrub in the desert and she'll nazi when he could come so show habit for part places in the wilderness in salt lake which is not inhabited barbie. Glad god doesn't just then he goes to say blessed is the me. Okay now. what kind of me. As crucial blessed is the man who trusts in ward in his whole is in the lord for each shall be like a tree paid by the waters with spreads out its roots by the river and we'll match fear when he comes but it's lethal degree and will not be anxious in the year of drought. You hear that.

"Number one desire no matter where we go no matter what we do we want to simply meet with and that is in everything that we do. That may be in the shower for crying out loud metric. Maybe there's nothing else. They can distract me there you know. He's kind of got my attention. How you jewett. Here's the lord. The god hebrews. They add some hard times come. They had some difficulties that had already come upon them. Either in egypt right. They've been living in captivity. They've been used slaves but yet even in the midst of that being a foreign land and now being brought into the wilderness in both places they could truly. Sega were gods maps. That should be our number. One drive is a church. We want to hear from the lord but it's much more than just hearing for war we want to be. Because there's sometimes it god's ministry to you has absolutely nothing to do with what he has to say. It's what he wants to do. I remember a time. I think it'd be assured the story over there so bear with me one. The grace encounters ever had with god was lengthened house on prairie tree. I told we were living down. Wall whole time told him. I just need to go away to be with for now for a few days. So went over to manchester new hampshire the motel room. Best western something like that. Lock myself in the room for a couple of days. And i brought my bible ed raw worship tapes eyebrow reading material. Because i had all edge. I knew exactly what i was to do. In the midst of wishing you start off every day at least as much worship and may have some time. I'm just reading the by half time when learning some things from some other great men and women of god and god spoke through those things he really he met with being those things but the greatest encounter i had was the second to the last day and that evening i was sitting on the bed. It's like okay. Which of these things do i do. I need to put some kind to learn here very lovingly rebuked to me. You know what i mean. It's very broad shouldered. Spank she with the other one. he's like well. You just put that thing down referring to provoke housing. Okay but i just want to be okay so i so i posed it up and great spiritual him. We've gone for about ten minutes. And i fell asleep even have been there. You know you wanna hear god in the piece that passes all understanding by falsely accusing me touch impression on me because this does that happen to me when i wake up. I don't kill is another sleeper. Mike braiding functioning thinking about anything. I just kinda come to. But when i came out of that now there was such a strong sense of god's presence in that room and the only way i can express lane as far as i was feeling inside it felt like when you're a kid and when when when you're dan mom sitting next to you and that sense of comfort security that's exactly right in my head and the way to really explain it. But here's here's my point. I met with contact. I don't know what he was doing. I don't need to know what he was doing. But something that rejuvenated me. More than that mulling whole rest of the weekend combined. Why because he met. And i do we have time. I just need not with any agenda. Any ideas just to come to the third thing that The wilderness will do was awaken us to live for him in your medicine in the second part verse. Eighteen lord god of the hebrews has met with us. Now let's go three days journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the lord so we may give ourselves so we can truly serve him when you're in the wilderness. It's a place where god blunts to craft us to learn what it means to live for him to be in that place where he becomes are sold as he becomes our sole motivation in everything that we do not believe. Stay that we are. That's what he's lying with us. As a church teaches what really means not just for leadership buffer each and every person that's part of this congregation to learn what it really means to live for the fourth thing that it doesn't awakens us to comfort integration is. Am chapter fifty. One says this. For the lord. God will comfort zion. He will comfort all her waste places. Who can sing wilderness. He will make her wilderness like eden in her desert like the garden. Laurie joy and gladness will be found. It don't you think that's another state because you've got the has been totally parched and nothing can grow their. You're ever have a guarded. Look like that. During the drought the ground. So dry is craft. And there's like nothing that's going to grow. And then all of a sudden something begins to break through the joy that came in that moment. That's what happened. Before we find ourselves wilderness bring us to a wilderness to leave us there. He brings us to the wilderness to get us into the problems. His desire is to be in that place with local ninety. But sometimes we. I gotta get here so then he can come. You can bring his comfort. He can show us everything that he wants to be. We will never ever know all the guy can be for us and let me find ourselves with a bad places. How do we know that of love unless we find ourselves in the face with in hate. How can we understand what it means for him to be kind of compromise we have. I experienced some sort of this. There's no way we can get a handle on all these obscure unless we first blocking something that seemed contrary the wilderness experiences. Where are not be comfortable. We might have liked what we have. But you know what guys being something better but in the meantime there might be some discomfort along the way but we will left when we let him in. There will be let him begin to speak to the desert places. It made it like the guard. Contrast let him bring comfort to.

"People can do little and of course how they pickle on that kind of stuff. There's nothing wrong with our indiana bourbons. Other reminded listener said That he is just about football. Throw noha river which is geographically kentucky. Yes yes sir. So you're you're you're really really close to love it. Just let us have this one win please. So where did you guys come up with a name wilderness trail and that logo is just. It's magnificent what what created the came about with that. I'm just gonna still after bailey patriots. So let's just put probably put my education and finally. Yeah so when it runs. Yeah yeah so And and little trailers and stuff that we can brian about as history because it's actually true history and as part of where we are and who we are So the trail is a road as a pathway. Trace the trail that led from Eastern kentucky through the couple of gas into the bluegrass So just to kind of remind anybody in a slip through history class. There was a barrier to cover across the appalachian. They are now of course. They're not the rocky mountains and you can walk across. You can get across them. There's no place you get a wagon across the The the the main ridge there and currently gap was as spot Basically it was the best spot from Pennsylvania down to georgia to come across so so it was a natural gateway into the west 'cause kentucky was the first west western front of the first wild west and willingness trail was a small game path of the coming gap through the The ford of the cumberland river. There what we call today through the wilderness of eastern kentucky which is still pretty dang. Wow man is still pretty much a a wilderness. Figurative metaphorically Over there it into the deferral bluegrass and and that trail came to damp damage has a name. It's called the city of. I because it was that i did a civilisation. When you got into that rich fertile land it's where the first I feel courthouse west of the appalachian path. It was the first college west. The appalachian translating university that and now started ample It was the first lottery west of the appalachians. The first serial killer so the whole lotta i of air for sure. Sure because we still have square. It's awesome little Half acre land. this got more history than probably any spotting kentucky But it's still got replica of one of the jails where they kept the hart brothers and tells her story in there about that the psychopaths while folk. But we're at And we're still we're on the wilderness trail. How thirty four. That that that splits our property to still reach out to the nice honest out from the other How thirty four. Luckily known as lebanon road is the wilderness trail i. it was the road from From danville Dad would leave to bardstown tool. I would go up through Kind of southerly route. They're up to mobile so so so many Historic we just kind of went to pay homage to that with ministre..

"So there were ready to move when property owners ready to sell. We don't have to wait for money. We have it and We also need money for transaction expenses like. I said we need to do to deals. Every time you buy it from the landowner we hold it and get ready and clean it up. And then they sell it to the forest matt takes money for example it took thirty thousand dollars a year actually more than that to hold timber insurance on the property along castle league and the reason for that the appraisal dependent on the timber value that was the highest and best use. Oh fit bernard we would be in a lot of trouble and you know it. Sometimes we have foundations. That gives us large grants and allow us very generously to donate land of the federal government. Add immediately wilderness. A section of the wilderness act allows us to do that lamb touch but that's rare that an organization would be willing and able to put money into something. Allow us to sink. The money in so to speak lasts at times for rotating the money in and out of projects. You know we buy property. We'd resell it. We rotate the money back into the wilderness opportunity fund so if people donate to our to our cause they're money is getting used over and over again to protect lands and we have some private lenders and That have supported up to five acquisitions over a several year period With the same money. So it's really a satisfying result. Space thing to work with our partners in. Yeah you know everything. Everything costs money as you say. But we think this is a higher level of return for the investment. That was very cool. The idea that My donation can actually be cycled through and through. Because i can tell you that most organizations that you donate to it goes then they you know. Hey we need some more because it's another year either way to kind of balance people's money goes into actual land acquisition in awe and then helps us with our transaction has to a really tangible thing. Besides removing a cabinet or a trash is a title issue like outstanding third party rights that could be exercised in the future while we wanna get ownership of those and so sometimes we need to. Do you know like a court action that takes time research funds to pay an attorney and then pay the court recording fees to be able to regain those mineral rights or negotiate with the private company and get them back either donated or buying them. So you know. It's all these kinds of things that create a knee. Are there opportunities for people to come and help with ground through thing or restoration efforts or anything on the property that you're working with. Yeah we're actually. We have at community hike day after the mount shasta area on the little castle lake before code that was august two thousand and nineteen and were planning on doing something at combat canyon. Las cruces while mccann. We have had volunteered trails. Days or property cleanup days where we've partnered with organizations so if there are organizations that are interested in doing that with us. It'd be great to know we also had go fund me site up on the Aschenbach canyon properties so but going to our website is by far the best way to find out how to support us and that's just wilderness. Land trust dot org. What are you hopeful for..

"Are either inside next to or directly benefit wilderness and that can include designated wilderness. You know the wilderness act of nineteen sixty. Four allows congress to designate wilderness areas that are the highest level of protection in the us for ecology and that basically means that there can't be any motorized access to those areas. That man can be a visitor at shall not remain. I love that language from the act So recreation is allowed but not motorized recreation and hunting is allowed but not motorized access for hunting. So there's lots of different uses evil are actively enjoying in wilderness including obviously thinks like backpacking but also came and just seen it all it is and wildlife viewing we worked throughout the nation to try and make sure that these wilderness areas stay ecologically secure and safe from non-consistent private uses and we try to complete some of them some of these wilderness areas are riddled with private lands. Because long ago you know we thought mining and other agricultural activities homestead Was most important thing to do on. Wild lands in since then We've reevaluated some of that but those private lands that were granted out needs. He needs for purposes. Such as those are still private and so they have the right as they should as private property owners to be able to access their properties and when we started about thirty years ago there were about four hundred thousand acres of private land inside federally designated wilderness in the us not just through our work but also through our work in the work of our partners other conservation groups at that amount is now down to about one hundred and eighty thousand acres. That's still over three thousand. Private landowners are making individual private management decisions about wilderness. So we try to work with people in do deals that worked for them from a business standpoint. We tried to move quickly which the federal government really can't do very well. They have a long process for acquisition of land. We are private nonprofit and bring her on sunday from individuals donors lenders foundations and others that want to help protect wilderness and we put that those resources to bear to be able to do fair market value deals with willing landowners and help them protect their land..
