You're kidding me. You go. Sit down. Get out of here. Team. Do you already said Code Red Code red time? By the way, we want to make 12 I don't care to make Giants fan sick. The max months he get out. Get it out of the ocean Bobblehead night is tonight. How is it? And to Muncie, his own image. Neyts right there with Dale Murphy, Ron say, you know the greatest giant killers last night, they gold man. Yeah, they said Goldsman. It was Goldman, Erin Otto and Renato. But Monty's got 10 home runs against the Giants just since the start of last year. He's got six of his 16 home runs this year are against the Giants. I mean, this guys like this guys like Willie Mack when he when when he's going to get the Giants. It's amazing. And, yes, someone in the Giants organization wrong him in any way, shape or form seriously. Do we have anything that we could go back? His former clubs understands. And then and then This guy also just puts the perfect swing 96 Mile an hour fastball last night, and it's supposed to be up and in and it's just had so much run to it that it ran across the plate and he hits it out. I mean, the guy's got the guy's got six home runs in in 24 at bats. Against the Giants this year. I mean, that's That's ridiculous. At what point do you start being careful with him? I mean, not that you're not, but not necessarily pitch around him. But at what point do you look at the numbers and you just look at him and go? Would be best if we just don't fool with this. Hit him away, man. I've seen enough of Muncie in We know he yanks that pitch. The tough thing about him is he makes you pitch to him like he he would actually actually swung in, like two or three balls out of the zone Last night. At least I was like, Whoa. That doesn't happen often. I didn't happen against a giant seemingly it probably does, but he makes you pitch to. It's just so damn patients like God Dang it swing at that pitch. I'd also like to nominate Wil Myers as a giant killer. Absolutely, especially at Oracle. I mean, he's like the King Barkley. He's in that second tier. Yeah, I've seen at the Gotham Club. Probably at Oracle is it's Goldschmidt. Coronado in Muncie. Current players will Smith is Jenny. Uh, Will Smith Will Smith on the break will mind He didn't block of those two balls that would have helped the Giants won, I would have got through Wil Myers. He's Chester Nash below those three guys. But Muncie was was Goldschmidt. A I mean, he was a giant dominates the more of a Let's come killer. Yeah, Yeah, he was. He would repeatedly just stab Tim Lincecum. I was like, dude, What do you do in your rookie? You just crushing this guy. It was amazing. That's back When Lynn Skin was still pretty Linthicum and he they didn't care Whatever. Yank this thing. I'm not gonna take a step and just whack. God, he would just Yeah, they were allowed to. They were guys freaking Ted Williams a were bad. Oh, they were just like folds. Just like you heard that over to Alameda. Yeah, shot. I thought the other day because John had a home run call ways and that's going all the way to Fremont or someone, Uh, We're going to test that theory when the Cardinals actually come to because they didn't come last year, but when they come to town this year, uh, because they have both of them on the same team. Oh, God. Oh, God. We'll see how that goes, You know, Let's hope they don't trade for Wil.

Say be our next guest was the founding editor of Dead Spin. He's written for number of very Esteemed outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post Medium NBC News, New York magazine as well and he has a brand new book out, called How Lucky Which is Little bit about sports, but a lot about a lot of other things we want to talk to about All of that. Joining us this morning on the show is will leach will? Good morning. How you doing? I'm very well. Thank you for having me. Sorry. I'm delighted to be on And I'm very happy to hear that. You enjoy the gift that our national department made for you for this very, very moment. Beautiful and beautiful. So it's interesting because looking at dead spin, you know things seem toe altar in the sports media landscape. There's kind of a before dead spin and after dead spin, and I was wondering what the inspiration was. Was there a story a report? Reporter, a media member that before you created a website you said, Look, this is it. We can't have this anymore. I'm going to do something about it, You know? Yeah. I had worked as a more traditional sports reporter when I was younger, and I and I had gone into a press box A couple times I looked around. And saw, you know, Frankly, I assumed that when I was covering sports would be like, Wow, We're covering sports. How exciting. I love my job. How lucky I am to get to do this. And then you got Yeah. You've been in the press box. You go up there and everyone's just like, Why is the food so cold? This is terrible. I want nothing to do with this wire. These athletes don't mean to be so I thought, Well, I don't know I'm gonna do with my career. But I'm not gonna work in sports. Those guys look miserable and it struck me how like there was a real disconnect. Between the people that not just in media, but people that worked in sports and the people who consume the sports. You know the fans who actually pay for everything, so it felt to me that there was a real gap between the way that sports were talked about in the way that people actually enjoyed sports, So whether it was It was over. You know her over heroic suddenness of of of, you know, saying the athletes were incredible and wonderful and gods and heroes or that they were terrible and bombs and all that stuff, And I just I felt like fancied a much more lighter touch. When it came to sports and kind of were not, but not showing. Relax, don't you wouldn't call fans relax, but certainly putting it better in perspective. So That was always the idea. And, you know, frankly, you know, I didn't. It's funny to think that that's been there for a long time, because it's like really scary, Dangerous side. I certainly never considered it that way. I think that What's that just kind of become so kind of calcified and like a certain kind of structure. I think anything new was going to feel like this major upheaval. So it's interesting that the cynicism of a press box with what inspired you todos spin. But then Dad's been had a very cynical tone about sports quite a bit, and there were no sacred cows and You know, there were no kid gloves as well. So was that the original idea or did it kind of evolve into that? I would say that, like certainly one of the things that we realized pretty early on was you know more people knew who Chris Berman was in the shortstop for the Tampa Bay Rays. And so therefore fans would want that stuff covered the same way. That they covered the regular team. I think that was surprising to a lot of people in preferable uncomfortable, so I think that I do not think I certainly hope I certainly didn't it never intended for anything to be like, aggressively mean or to go after anyone but also, you know, the sports media was covered in a way that theatrics for covered and I think that That was definitely knew. If anything, I feel like that was the most do thing about it is the sports was covered in this holistic thing rather than okay, We only covered this stuff, but this stuff we don't We don't cover this. Like I think that I think I don't think I was just testing, but I do think there was a lot of sites. That decided some good, some bad, But like the idea that there was there was some sort of thing that like, okay, this is off limits. We don't talk about this was frankly, not the way that people were discussing the stuff and frankly, now I look at stuff that I wrote about it. That's been back then that people were couldn't believe we were talking about and I It's like run through ESPN dot com and TMZ. Everything by the time I'm walking up in the morning, so Certainly the culture's changed quite a bit..

"Maybe it's just their hitters are off to a slow start like the other hitters around the league, but Right. It's a problem particularly rich in the Padres. I think that's clear that they're going to be able to do that because they can't pitch in because they are. They're playing complimentary defense to their good pitching, particularly starting pitching, But you just mentioned the Padres, a team that can hit Would say, second to last in slugging percentage. Second last is that which is hard to believe that he's come on man Lumber. Everyone is doing my drunk Joe Nemeth on Monday night Football impression, struggling With a with a bat in your hand you mention the Padres had to hurt you know which Padre ain't hurt. Wil Myers. Oh, you best believe guys like that giant killer Wil Myers is in the Padres lineup tonight. The Padres probably probably even take a plane here. They just gotta Wil Myers back as he just flew, you know, on his own to San Francisco, because that dude always wants to come to Oracle and throw a baby Ruth in the punch bowl. If you catch what I'm saying, if all you did was watch the Giants in the Padres at in San Francisco, you would think that yesterday we honor to the greatest player of all time, And tonight we get to see the greatest player Who's still playing and then Wil Myers. He's like, seriously. I mean, the guy doesn't just hit clouds. He hits him like he makes the park look tiny. He's hitting two irons like to rose up from the glove and he's just trotting around and it's like me and he makes it look. Like it's nothing. You know you have some you sometimes you like, have this giant hit her hit a home run, and we could half it's like No. Here comes. Will Myers need Parks too? And they're both monster for 30 shots. I mean, the guy. The guy looks great in San Francisco against the Giants, just coming in. Not wearing batting gloves. No tape on his back. He just Captain caveman, and they're coming in and just ply just well, Meyers smashed like did we do something to Wil Myers? So that we traded elective on our team. We traded him with somebody in San Francisco say something about Wil Myers is Mama and he's never here because what it's easy builder man. Oh, my goodness. Do we have to find a way for San Diego to do something dumb like Colorado Dear? Would trade Nolan Aaron Otto And I guess for Arizona, they had to ship Goldschmidt, too. ST Louis, because maybe they go. We're going to re sign him. But do we have to treat Wil Myers that way? Because if the Giants get out of this weekend, and Wil Myers didn't just stab him in the ribs repeatedly, that's a win. God. Seriously, When will my When the day they moved him out of the division Will, you know? Have a party seriously between him and the gold? Schmidt? I mean, as it was a little kid, Ron say was that guy Rod re just owned the Giants in the late in the mid to late seventies. And then after that was Dale Murphy. Dale Murphy owned the Giants, and he would hit the ball out to right center and into the McCovey into the family pavilion, the bleachers and right at Candlestick. And he was just get a sense that a young Lawrence Kruger was sitting with his family in the family pavilion, while Dale Murphy just peppers you with baseball's seriously family legally, right was we don't let people not forgetting You know anything about this way and people would say it's cool. The Giants had a family pavilion. It's not cool that they needed to have an area designated for people to call it Family Pavilion because it was pretty rough in the left field bleachers. You know, it's one way of looking at it Between fly. The flask fights the language that I mean left field You came of age. If you sat in the left field bleachers, the right field Family pavilion not as much. But, yeah, Dale Murphy, giant owned the Giants Ron say owned the Giants. Um, gotta can't they can't think of exactly Obviously, Goldschmidt and Wil Myers have had total own Ege Mark Portugal before he was a giant. Totally dominated the Giants. Um Russell Scott Hairston. That's a pretty good call you He definitely took the Giants deep a couple times. But definitely Dale Murphy. Oh, my goodness. Delmer remember a good deal. Murphy was in the earlier years. Him and Andre Dawson and Dale Murphy just made the park look small, and he just just routinely tortured the Giants. I love it when our Childhood sports trauma. I love it when they come up in our now somewhat adult conversations kiss you just never forget him. Yeah. If I see Lenny Dykstra walking down the street, I'm pushing him into traffic. But I guess you might get him back right now. You're as Mr It was what he did. And the 1986? Yeah, that was which was one, maybe one of the greatest series of our lifetime. To be honest. Well, that was some people. Not for a young Rod Brooks in 1986, and because of that, and and Lenny Dykstra's involvement in it if I see him in the streets It's on site and in my admitting that I am going to assault, possibly murder, uh, Lenny Dykstra with my own bare hands and admitting that in, uh in public Yes, Yes, I'm admitting that that's how strongly I feel about the vengeance. I will one day. Have Young Rod Brooks was feeling good, though, when Hatcher hit one off the foul pole. Woz. Larry. That was a great moment on the word Woz. That's great. I'll say this stuff. If you're gonna get beat to me, it's a little bit more. It's a little bit better when you get beat by, like the Alzheimer's and to me. No lessons, not 86 months were pretty freaking awesome. No, no, no, don't No, no, it doesn't. You don't think it makes it any easier. I know, but this sounds like it's easy for me now. Does this sound like that? I've gotten over it. Does this sound like that? I've been able to oppress the process it through my now adult brain. Does it sound like it's easy? Larry doesn't Very high pitched at this point, so I would say no. Thanks, Larry and my now blaming you and projecting all of my anger upon you. Yes, because that's how I do things. That's the type of person. That's how that's how much those Astros scars hurt that Z. What Lenny Dykstra did to me. If somebody says I want you to point to the dull and show me where Lenny Dykstra hurt you. "Cubs team needs at home runs to win. That's how they get most of their runs in the regular season on the other side for the Marlins, they have to win in a different way. They get on base against Yu Darvish, and they need to run. They need to steal the bags that you get in scoring position. So for the Cubs, it's the homers. The Marlins is little ball barns were second in the league in stolen bases. They stole two in the opener. They had a couple of home runs, though it a five run seventh, winning that game. 5 to 1. Miami will look to go to 70 in playoff series in franchise history. The Cubs are just hoping to stay alive. We'll have first pitch shortly, but now let's head back to the studios and Jim Basketball. Right, Kevin Thanks so much. Cubs and more lands were postponed yesterday, but there was plenty of postseason play on Thursday, news notes and scores. This is the leadoff Game three Cardinals and Padres today after San Diego rallied from six to down last night, powered by the long ball one swing and a high fly ball center field at Steve backing a bitter at the wall. I'll tell you it's been a wild Yeah, markets and analysts sort of seem unsure how to react to you know what is obviously jarring news that Donald Trump has code 19. So the question that markets are trying to answer today is whether the news that he's contracted covert 19 is the October surprise. That's going to change the outlook for the election. Oh, and, of course, the stock markets and easiest answers. Who knows? Markets being impersonal are going to focus on whether this affects the election outcome or public health policy. And, of course, the presidential debates next ones, they may not happen. Those were those were Sena's significant, so right now, just let Donna just teased before before I came on Dow Jones down 417 points that seems like a lot of points. It's only 1.5%. If you think of it in terms of percentages, and it doesn't pull us back much further. From from where we were just a week ago. So 27 to 68 on the Dow right now, SNP also down 1.5% that represents 51 points at 33 16. NASDAQ still trading well above 3 22,030. But the NASDAQ's taking the brunt of it. NASDAQ Down 2.2% Premarket Trading Down 247 points Even gold is down this morning. So this is that fear in greed and volatility that we talked about over the last couple of weeks, so and you're right, Ted. It's It is global with respect to that, because you know, America Is the financial leader, economic leader and we are also the global currency, the U. S dollars. So anyway, we'll keep it. We'll keep it close. I know this morning, but right now that's what it looks like. Markets open up about 37 minutes. It's gonna be a rough ride a couple of other stories this morning How the Donald Trump and Joe Biden tax policies could affect your paycheck and then also exactly how much of car prices gone up. During covert, Believe it or not, car prices are enjoying a rally. So I'll tell you that everything else seemed l coming up in 6 20. All right, Thank you very much, Sully. And now let's talk about those Padres extra. 13 60, Fox Sports Day, Diego's Jetson Richard's. Whoa! There's a fan here. Yeah, maybe Dan. We're in the brown it guys. It's a The way I look at it last night, I feel like the city of San Diego may have exercised some sports demons. The Padres believed that they got their first ever win at Petco Park, which was built in 2000 for the first ever play off victory and Petco Park, So they were down one game to none in three games. Siri's, which means 1st 22. And they get a win yesterday. Now they trailed for nothing on point. They also trailed 6 to 2. How about this? The ST Louis Cardinals all time in the playoffs when having a four run lead were 68 1? Go there now. 68 to when the Padres came back to win grand to teach Junior I I would call it a life changing night for him who had to home runs. Listen to the company that he joined in a couple different ways. By the way. He's a second youngest player in Major League baseball playoff history to have five or be eyes in the game. So our youngest all time And then there's this one because he had two home runs and Wil Myers had two home runs two T's and Myers or the second pair of teammates and postseason history. Toe each have two home runs in the same game. Do you know the company? They joined by the way by doing that? They go by the names ofthe Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Oh, well, 1932 they get in the World Series had not been done. Since 1932. So the Padres they stay alive as as amazing as last night was a spectacular is last I was they still face elimination in the wild card round. Exactly will need to beat the Cardinals today, and if they do They travel to Arlington, which is odd because they're not playing attacks his team to play the Los Angeles Dodgers, who eliminated the Brewers yesterday, which by the way, we'll have 28% capacity in the crowds to watch those games, But there will be a crack there. There will be a crowd of salts. By the way, if you want to see a crowd, Boyd a. Johnson 13 60 on Twitter, the crowd in the Lexus lot last night. People. We're not staying in their cars as they had three major television screens to watch the game from the Lexus lot. The gas lamp was going wild last night. "The Brewers and there is no score going to the bottom of the fourth, but there is lots of score in San Diego. Because Wil Myers has hit his second home run of the game, two run shot in the bottom of the eighth, and the Padres now lead the Cardinals, 11 to AIDS. I think that's five home runs. That's five home runs since they were down 6 to 2. I know that five home runs for the Padres tonight as they try to stave off elimination. Corey Seager leads off the bottom of the fourth for the Dodgers. It takes up it away Ball one. Franchise postseason record for the Padres hitting five homers. Byers has to has to Machado has won. You know, one of the Dodgers with just one hit through three off Woodrow as Seger looks at a strike over the outside corner one and one boy with the Padres Get rolling. Jim Bacon roll about as well as anybody. They certainly can't. They are fun to watch a lot of energy on that team. You're no score bottom for the 11 inside with the slider ball too interesting. In the first round eight first round, Siri's and there was only one with the two teams who were in the same division and therefore played each other that this year that was the raise in the Blue Jays. The other seven didn't have that. Out of you sneak a peek ahead to what could be in the division. Siri's round. There's the two wanted to swinging a foul back to into. Well, we know the Yankees were playing the Rays. They're in the same division they played this year. We know the A's were playing the Astros. They're in the same division they're playing this year. And the National League has all sorts of possibilities as well. Of course, it could be. The Dodgers and the Padres. But you know it. It could be the Cardinals of the Brewers, too. Both of those pairings come from the same division one for the East one for the central pitch, fouled back Still two or two and let me jump in, too, because a lot of people were talking about Oh, the central division of both leagues, had six playoff teams. That was the strongest two divisions or I could take the other argument. They were the weakest. They played each other. They didn't have to play the tough teams in the east of the West and oh, by the way, if San Diego holds on and beat ST Louis, all six of the central teams will have been eliminated. In the first round. Here's the 22 and a changeup popped up in the left center field and drifting back just shy of the track. Now on the track yell, it will make the catch. And Seeger is retired one down. The Cubs are still going with the Marlins, right. Marlins won games it on there for the Cubs.

"I think you could make a case for that. Mark. Um and I think that they're going to treat these games almost like they're all Star games. We saw that a little bit tonight. Guys will come out of game. Out of games earlier. You know you all of a sudden you've reached in the fifth inning, and there's a pinch runner on first base or your pinch hitting for someone after a second or third at bad, So I think Manny Machado's or Fernando Todd Jr will play 18 innings the next two days. Neither, you know, one of those guys could get a day off. For the Padres. Of course, you only have so many players available on your bench. But, um, it's almost gonna have AH, little bit of a spring training field would be my guests for the Padres. Now the Padres What's interesting about the project to your point, They have not been playing their best baseball, um, their Olympic Olympic to some extent towards the finish line. But then again these games air completely meaningless right now, but they've brought us up this number four seed. Um, so it will be interesting to see how they You know how they want to play this out for the next two days. I think knowing what happened tonight. Did Ellison lament all that matters? I think if the Potters had the opportunity to forfeit two games, they would do it. They don't have that opportunity. They need to play 18 innings and to your point all that matters is health. And they have to navigate that, you know, Will they win one of these two games? I have absolutely no idea, but I'd be surprised if you know, I'd be very surprised if the Padre has found a way to win each of the next two days. And essentially, you know what the Giants needed both right? I mean, what's the magic? Yeah, it depends. If the Giants even win one, it forces either the Brewers of the Phillies tto win both of their games. And then it goes to tie breakers, which probably would go against the Giants. But if they win one, they're probably in. Obviously if they went to their their their definitely, And so that's that's where their situation sets have you. Have you called the league office to check on what you just said? Are you sure they're probably not allowed to fourth in the next two games? You know, it's It's funny, because even before our show today, ah and just texting with people at the station and like, you know, people say a man to put the postures aren't playing good baseball. I literally said before Lameck at her. I said the only thing that matters Is coming out of it healthy. That's all that you could literally go into the postseason on a six game losing streak, which was kind of what they were staring at. They had lost two games. The Angels They lost Game one tonight. They're trailing in the final inning by two runs here tonight, Then you're talking about a weekend in San Francisco, where shoot if you've lost four straight No. Conceivably you could lose on Saturday and Sunday as well. But the truth be told, that's not what's most impactful. Everything starts over on Wednesday for the National League teams as it is, that's all that really matters so You know, not a lot is on the line and literally. I said that now or later, you've got Will Myers leaving the game, by the way, with with quad tightness that he left tonight and then also lament that the bigger concern because it's an arm and it's a pitcher and it's in aid. His elbow or his bicep and J Stigler did say bicep, not elbow, even though the initial reports were elbow, so they're hoping they dodged a bullet. But, um, you know, nothing fully known probably yet. Real quick because I want to let both you and I go to bed at some point, But, you know, you said lament is the bigger concern than Wil Myers. That's for Padres fans, not for Giants fans because they weren't going to see lament again. Either way. But will Myers has been a total thorn in the side of the Giants, especially at Oracle Park over the years? So with what you heard tonight? What are the chances Will Myers is playing this weekend? I'd be surprised now. I don't know if the tightness is related to cramping, or if it's something that he's been experiencing before tonight at Oracle, and he played 10 innings tonight. I mean, he played Game one. Then they sat for 30 minutes, and then he played three innings of game too. Just knowing how valuable Wil Myers has been knowing what's going on again in that clubhouse with injuries. It again knowing that you've gotta have you know you only have to say only have 28 guys on the roster. But you know you have 45 outfielders, so you gotta play three of them. I'd be personally surprised if he played this weekend. With that being said, maybe plays one of the two games and regardless of whether he plays one of the two games or not, he's not going to play a full nine innings. And I surprised if a lot of these guys play played a full nine innings, So it's a weekend that that's there for the taking for the Giants. There is absolutely no question about that. But as we've seen play out over the years and Major league baseball that That doesn't really garantia anything other than opportunity? Well, and I don't know if you've seen Johnny Cueto pitch lately, but the Padres do have a chance because Johnny is pitching tomorrow. It has not been pretty up as of late. Careful that that's that's fair it. It's always the outside that if the Giants get in, I said, there's a lot to like to mean Nobody wants to see them. I mean, they find their way into every game. They also have lost some heartbreaking games as well. But I mean If your Los Angeles and you're playing best of three against your rival, the Giants. Are you kidding me? I mean on the Giants would have zero to lose and the whole city of L. A. I keep saying to John all I want out of life. I think it's all this city wants, play the Dodgers and win Game one doesn't even matter if they win the Siri's You win Game One on l A would be a stress ball for 48 hours, and it would just be a whole lot of fun on. I wouldn't be shocked. Not just someone I picked him. It's a best of three series. I believe either 1 ft or 2 ft in the ail or NL will lose if one of the things didn't happen, All right, But hey, thanks for jumping on real quick. Go to bed. It's always great to hear your voice will do it again. Great catching up. Thanks. All right..

"And this smoke is really condensed and thick. That's something else that these outdoor stadiums were going to have to look through the next couple weeks. Yeah, I mean, this is this is a crisis. It's not going any Away any time soon. A friend of mine throw from here in Northern California through organ up to Seattle a couple days ago, and it was quite an adventure. And, of course, nobody can forget the orange Wednesday. That was the strangest thing I've ever I've ever seen in terms of the light available in daytime when it's two o'clock, and it still looks like the sun hasn't come up. I mean, that was beyond weird. Somehow the giant's got the game in the air wasn't that bad? And then that goes away and the air is terrible. You know, they're talking about the 40 Niners not being able to play so You know, absolutely that that's going to be a factor. And, uh, she's what isn't on fire right now. What isn't a factor right now. I mean, every time you turn around You say? Can I get any crazier tomorrow? Yes, and does so That's what we're dealing with a couple of baseball notes. And so it's good to get your your feelings about Myrtle Clemente. Ah, 21 was worn by the Pirates on Wednesday. Some of players. I don't know why everyone didn't wear 21. I don't. I don't get that. Why not just make everyone have where? 21 on Wednesday night if you wanted to, But it was a big deal for baseball and an honored Clementi and I could see this growing into like a Jackie Robinson Day. Well, yeah. I mean, you know what Jackie Robinson meant to the African American American community over Roberto Clemente was that kind of a figure for not just in Puerto Ricans. But you know, Latinos everywhere and ah, one of the all time greats without question, one of the most entertaining players of all time. A man of tremendous dignity. Um, and it just absolutely revered. I thought it was terrific Land. Yadier Molina for the Cardinals was wearing number 21 hit one out. I mean, he was probably in tears by the time he got the second and, uh, yeah. So I mean, the more the more tributes for Roberto Clemente, the better because I'm old enough to have seen it many times. I watched him play in the World Series. Played 14 world serious games and it safely in all of them. You guys, That's uh, that's a vertical, many with a couple of great throws under some great base running along the way, 14 for 14 and Then hit safely. You know, verse one of the things that just came out on baseball this week. A cz they're not gonna have the fall leaks. And of course, a lot of the minor leaguers didn't play at all They're talking about Maybe an instructional weak But instructional league is going to be tough because then you're confining everybody in one spot again. How hard is this going to be for the minor leagues to move on? Not just this fall, but for next year? Yeah, you know, I really feel I feel for somebody, really everybody, but the guy like Patrick Daley, the giant strapped to this guy out of college and you know to really sounds like a heck of a player and he's a catcher. And now Joey, Bart is, you know he's in the big leagues, probably to stay now. And then the Patrick Bailey needs to make people that people know that he's somebody the Giants could trade Or they may be. They try to make a first baseman out of him, and he gets no options to play anywhere except these alternative sites. Where half the time they can't even find enough guys to get a real game in and they're certainly not facing a team that wants to get him out in desperation. Um And with no if there's no minor leagues falling, you know that in this winter and spring next spring and summer, Yes, Some of these guys are just gonna vanish. They're going to say you feel you know how long can I hang around and make no money? I'm going to go so, you know, sell. Ah, liquor. Can't you know? Work it Original Joe's in Westlake having a dining birds starting on Wednesday out there in west. I don't know. I think it's a real budding tragedy. You guys. No way. We can only hope that somehow the viruses is widely flattened. And as soon as they get people in the stands in the minor leagues, so they can, you know just not quite honestly, just survive by getting ticket sales and get a little revival that can actually still exist. You know if that were to happen that be great If you have to wonder, though, if it's if that's going to be the case. Well, you know, it's funny, but I was thinking about the giant so you know they've made a good season and they made a great season out of something that looked like it was going to be an awful awful disaster and from a business standpoint. I think it brings people back to the park. Now the hope people can come to the park and people could come to the park. I think they've made a complete 1 80 on their sort of Heather viewed in the Bay Area. Well, no doubt. Absolutely. I think they were quite worried about. Yeah, they were. They were dead and and and and also thinking that Okay. Ah, fans can come back in the park. But do you really want to come out and see this team? Yeah. But the combination of you know it is the best park in the big leagues are certainly one of the front of the top five. And you know we've got we've got bark and to Bonn and Dickerson and yes, and and a good, really entertaining team. They've They've made a lot of people happy during the pandemic. You know, I had a time when people really need it, but having the Giants on every night Has been tremendous. There's a big void tonight with no game and that's that's really going to matter. You know, burst watching his Padre team and you know, then he watched the Dodger team. I'm telling you what? I think the Padres could overcome the Dodgers. I think they have enough Momenta MME working for him Right now. They play him three more games. Dodgers have a tough schedule coming up to what do you think about these? Two teams moving forward could not agree more. I'm looking for the Padres in the world Serious. I've been so impressed with what they're doing, and everyone the Dodgers don't need any explaining, Although they know they've They've had no dust in May and Bueller have both been hurt. Uh, not seriously doesn't look like but if they get nicked up in the rotation, they get more vulnerable. But the Padres I mean, my God, How can you not watch T's and Machado or, you know Wil Myers follow through, you know, and they're just they're so fun to watch. They made some very significant deals. Um and they're pitching looks pretty good, but they just have that they have that thing. You know, they'd have that thing where teams teams get hot, and it's great because they haven't been great for a while. And their hopes are high. And sometimes you can write that enough along way. Um, I think there's just a CZ watchable as the Dodgers probably more so, and I agree that if I had to picket the team I'd go with or just to go against the chalk For one thing. What I pick San Diego to get to the serious Why not? You know it takes a big picture. You know if it's a Verlander Gibson effect, you know that And look they I don't know of Paddock.

Airman Marcas did an excellent job facing the minimum in the first inning, including a strike out. In the second, gave up a leadoff single but came back again to take care of San Diego Man First two outs 12 pitch coming to the rookie Cronin Worth Did he go too far? He did That's strike three on the curveball airman with a pair of punch outs in each of the first two winnings. But then things went sour for the Rockies in the third inning in that third inning, eh? Face it a groundball basic by Austin Ola up the middle and then a little Q shot on a 32 pitch by Jurickson pro. Far put two men on with nobody out. They We're able to get the leadoff man Grisham on a strikeout. But then Fernando Totti said to drive towards left center field, Sam Hilliard raced over to try and Cut it off, made a dive it got by him. It ended up being a triple two runs scored. And with that triple A sacrifice fly was added, and it was three to nothing. And as it turned out, that would be more than enough for the Padres. They get two more runs in the fourth inning, including a home run from Wil Myers, while the Rockies were having little success against the starter, Garrett Richards. And then the eventual Ah gamewinner Adrian Mora, home for the Rockies on a night in which the offense never could find any footing. At least the defense continued to make big plays led by Who else? Nolan are Renato. I'll bounce this one up the third base line. Nolan grabs it jump throw to first and got him. My oh, my bounding ball down the third base side, Nolan grabbed it went into file ground, made the jump throw and got him. For Nolan. That was just another typical play from him. He did have one of the Rockies seven hits to extend his hitting streak, but the Rockies went Hold for six with runners in scoring position and hit into a couple of costly double plays. "It goes, though, has done it again. Fernando Toddies junior, a Grand Slam. All right. So you might also recall the Rangers got all butt hurt about that. All but hurt. After their pitcher made three straight bad pitches and then chase those three balls with an even worse pitch. Apparently, they assumed that because they were terrible at their job The guy that they were going up against, would just play along and stop doing his job so they wouldn't look even worse than they did. That he would just sit there and do nothing when he saw that gigantic floating meatball come right over the middle of the plate. I'm going to tell you something. Just because you can't do your job. Doesn't mean that Patty's shouldn't do his job again. Just because you can't do your job doesn't mean he should do hiss. His job was to murder that meatball, and that's exactly what he did. And he's got nothing to apologize for. And saying that he violated baseball is Almighty Red Ass code is still the dumbest thing average dumber today than it was then and with the dumbest thing ever then I made that clear yesterday. I'm making it clear again right now. Never mind that it would would have been fine. I mean, if you were swinging, too, all right? Or what if it was a 30 count and San Diego is only up by four runs again. Where do we draw the line here? When is it all right? And when are they supposed to stop trying so we don't disrespect the butt hurted? I mean, somehow, though, the lie the Stars aligned and there was a 30 pitch and it was a seven run lead. And he missed a sign. And I guess he was supposed to stop trying, so they didn't get their feelings or their ego hurt anymore. I guess that's written in some book somewhere, and that's essentially what the Rangers were saying, right? That's what they were saying after the game when they talked about the code, and they talked about all that garbage and that we don't do that sort of thing. We don't do what sort of thing our job. Don't do what sort of thing try. Don't do what sort of thing we just give away at bats. When you're down seven runs. That's what they were saying, And that's exactly what they were saying when they had a reliever, throw a pitch and Manny Machado San Diego's next batter after that Grand slam from Tha T's So MLB jumps in Ian Jimbo was suspended three games.
