Curry scores playoff career-high 50 as Warriors down Kings
"In the decisive game 7, the warriors made it look easy as they blow out the king's one 20 to 100 to advance to the second round in the Western Conference playoffs. Stephen Curry scored a playoff career high 50 points making 7 threes with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. For a reason because we started to see where the holes were and I could be ultra aggressive and get looks and it worked. Andrew Wiggins added 17 points and Klay Thompson with 16. It was the third game 7 in kings franchise history. In the loss, de Monte sabonis had 22 points and deer and fox with 16. Ryan leong, Sacramento

"Little things turn a series. They will be playing desperate, they'll be playing at home. It won't surprise me in the least if the Celtics win game 6. Do I think they can then turn around and win a game 7 in San Francisco, can yes, would I expect that they would? No. And we're always prisoners at the moment. You see the warriors win two games in a row, Celtics have lost consecutive games in the playoffs for the first time in this postseason. And everything feels like, well, that's it. It's a wrap. The warriors are going to shut it down on Thursday night in Boston. You and I know better. We've seen too much of this league to believe that it's that simple. It won't be. And, you know, there's pressure on the team to close out, too. And all those guys, Wiggins and Peyton and all these guys who are here for the first time, they might get a little tight in the moment. Yeah. And the Celtics might play loose feeling like there's nothing to lose because it's just winter or be done. And. Is it still a series in that regard? Yes, like anything can happen. This has been in anything can happen series. From the beginning, Celtics win game one. Warriors lose their home court advantage. Warriors blow out game two. Warriors, you know, go down to one warriors, you know, win a game four with Steph having one of the performances of the ages. You can't see anything coming. That's the beauty of it. That's why I hate making predictions. You know, I have no idea what's gonna happen Thursday night. I do think up three two with two chances to close, including the final one at home. I expect a warrior's title. That's what I expect at this point, but nothing's gonna surprise me. These turnovers are just unbelievable. You knew in the first quarter, this was not gonna go the Celtics way. Like just the way they were throwing the ball around like four turnovers in like 8 minutes and then you see like Marcus smart like lobbing passes into the paint to try to catch jaylen Brown with three defenders around him. It's like these are high school passes. So this is the kind of thing if the self can just clean that up. I still think that the better team. I do, I still believe Boston's a better team, it's just they can't get out of their own way. They can't get out of their own way. All right, this is why we have to define what better team means though. Like, you and I think both said this during game one when we were talking watching this unfold and we've said it, we've written it. I've written it for sure. The Celtics are bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic younger, right? Like they are probably all those things. But that doesn't necessarily translate to better because better has to do with things like decision making and precision passes and protecting the ball. Now, the warriors also have turnover issues, most nights last night, I think, was one of their best turnover games they've had all season. In terms of keeping it low. So this is not to say that they are by any means perfect in this regard. But when we talk about better team, like, okay, do the Celtics have some advantages, the warriors do not sure, but the way the words are playing, they have been the better team. And perceptions change based on a couple of shots here..

"Finish this off as you prepare to jet over to the side of the country. I still think this is a serious Howard. I really do. I'm that convinced that the Celtics, if they can just find a way to stop beating themselves, to stop turning the ball over so foolishly as they often have and if they could just leave the referees alone. Like the referees, I don't know how you feel about this. They have not had a good postseason. I don't think, in general. I think NBA referees, this off season, and I'm addressing this to Monte mccutcheon. I'd say this to Monty if I saw him and if we do see him in Boston, you got to start to identify when flops are happening. Like you got it. This is not just directed at this series, but all throughout this postseason, I have seen flop after flop after flop, get cold, like referees whistle the reaction too often and I just think referees have to call what they're sure they see. And if they're not sure they saw it, don't call it, like don't call a defensive fire. And off its file, how about no call? Whatsoever on that play. I think there's too much flopping going around. All that said, the Celtics have to leave the refs alone. They have become obsessed with not getting calls. Marcus smart, allowed that to infect his game in the fourth quarter of game 5. Jayson Tatum has been demonstrative towards the referees, all postseason long, and that's affected his game. Grant Williams has not been a factor in these finals in part because he's constantly chirping at the referees. You've got to leave the referees alone and put bad plays out of your mind. Move on to the next one. If the Celtics do that, I think they can win game 6. And if the selfish win game 6, I'd pick the wood game 7 as well. So to me, this is the series on Thursday night. Celtics win, I think the win game 7, Golden State wins obviously, we're all going home for the rest of the year. Do you, how much of a chance do you give Boston not only do win game 6, but to still win this series? It's been a really bizarre series in so many ways and it's been completely unpredictable. I think from game to game, even if you thought coming out of game four, oh, the warriors have momentum as if there's any such thing as momentum in this particular series. Otherwise, I have momentum, and so you're not surprised they're going to win game 5 at home. Yeah, but not when Steph is going from scoring like 43 points to suddenly going zero for 9 from three. If you had said, Steph is going, if you had said coming out of game four, they're going to San Francisco. They have home court, but I can see the future. And by the way, Steph is going to miss 9 all 9 of his threes. He's going to score 16 points. You would have said, yep, Celtics win. And they didn't because of their turnovers because of all those warriors supporting cast guys that I was referring to earlier. This series has been thoroughly unpredictable, and they've both won on each other's court. And..

Now, how did you know that? I watch a lot of basketball and sling TV. I love the confidence. Let's see how you do with this next question. "Sure. You get drafted number one over on this league. You were expected to be a franchise savior, a franchise leader. But you get drafted based somewhat speculatively. It's on some physical tools and some performance to date, but you're young when you come in, not everyone's built to be a leader. Not everyone's built to carry the responsibility of an entire franchise, even if you've got all the athletic tools. And okay, wagons wasn't that guy. I hate the term bust. I used it in today's story just kind of because that's the framing that's been placed on him and it just shows the contrast. Anthony Bennett is a button. To our earlier points, was putting up numbers. He just wasn't. Yes, number one. Numbers. Yeah, he wasn't winning. And yes, they weren't off the chart numbers. And the efficiency, the scoring numbers were there the raw numbers were there the efficiency wasn't there. The fact is you always knew, basketball people knew, there's a really good player there. Is he going to carry your team? No, can he be a number one or even a number two on your team on a championship caliber team? No. But it doesn't mean he's not a really, really good player. And what the warriors, I think, smartly did was not looked at him through the prism of number one pick who couldn't live up to the hype or max contract player who couldn't live up to the dollar figure. They looked at him as a guy who was long athletic, can defend multiple positions, came into the league actually with everybody talking about how he was going to be a great wing defender. And then that kind of fell away during his Minnesota years. And obviously he can score in a number of ways. And so yeah, look, everybody looks better next to Steph and clay, right? And draymond. But it's more than that. It is that if we talk about culture, I know it's an overused term in today's NBA. The warriors have a culture, as Steve Kerr would tell you it's Steph is the culture, right? This selfless superstar who is welcoming to everybody who was welcoming to Kevin Durant and other guy another MVP who was going to steal or take borrow a lot of his spotlight and opportunities. That Steph sets a tone and clay said it's a tone, draymond sets a tone, Iguodala sets a tone and they're in these guys ears all the time. So is this is there a better version of Andrew Wiggins in San Francisco than Minnesota based purely on teammates? Not just the talent of those teammates again, not just because you're playing with great players who take the pressure off you. But because you've got guys who can tell you, this is the way, man. This is how we do it here. This is how we win. This is how we train. This is how we recover. These are the hours we put in, this is our pre game routine. All of it, and that's why, you know, I don't know where this team will be at three or four years as the vets, you know, move into their mid to late 30s, but if there's a reason to believe that the warriors can transition.

"Wiggins and his revival with this team. I wrote a little bit about it in the immediate aftermath over an SI dot com. But Wiggins to me is a great example of why fit matters. He was drafted number one overall in 2014 and was kind of immediately miscast in a franchise save your role. Like that's just not him. There were times he looked at like it. Remember when he was growing up in Canada, one of his nicknames was like maple Jordan. He was like he was a superstar in the making goes to Kansas, looks the part there as well. But you get to the pros, you can see pretty quickly that he's not a number one guy. And when you are pick number one, you have expectations you have to live up to. Now, Andrew Wiggins was never Anthony Bennett, like he was averaging good numbers in Minnesota over the years. He just wasn't the impact player that the Timberwolves expected when they acquired him in that first trade with for Kevin Love. So like Wiggins was fine, but then he goes to Golden State and it's like round peg round hole. Hand in glove. He was exactly what Golden State needed from like the very moment that he got there. Steve Kerr himself said during the Dallas series that Andrew Wiggins is as responsible for the revival of this warriors dynasty as anyone because if you remember when they got him back at the trade deadline in 2020, that was after Kevin Durant was gone. I think Andre odo was gone, but it was old, or whatever it was, they didn't have wing depth. They didn't have perimeter defense. And Andrew Wiggins comes in and provides that right away. He also shoots the three. Shot 38% from three in his first full season. Shot 39% from three. This past year. He didn't have to be or doesn't have to be the 20 point per game score, he may have been expected to be in Minnesota with Golden State. It's just like defend, rebound a little bit, make some shots near the rim and make three point shots when they're available to you. And that's exactly what he seems to be really good at. So, and also there's a continuity issue here as well. I mean, Wiggins gets drafted. He plays 6 plus years in Minnesota. He has four head coaches and a whole bunch of new teammates throughout those years. He comes to Golden State, it's Steve Kerr, and as the coach, it's bob Myers is the top executive. It's Steph clay draymond, the core of this team intact. These are all reasons they Andrew Wiggins is now thriving at this point of his career. Golden State has a guy that is not only great for them right now, but what's he like 27? Like he could be great for them for three, four, 5 more years. In this particular role with the warriors. No question. And you know, I say this all the time, context is everything, and I apply that in various different scenarios, but in this case, context is everything. The context of the team you're with matters so much in this league. Did Andrew Wiggins have athletically physically just basketball wise, the abilities to be a number one overall pick and have everything that comes with that and be up for all that..

"Print money so they can afford step on a max contract. Clay on a near max contract. Draymond green on a huge contract, and Andrew Wiggins on a max contract. So they got the contribution to cheap guys. But this team would be dead in the water without Andrew Wiggins. Lost in the Steph Curry explosion in game four was 18 and 16 for Andrew Wiggins. I mean, he was great in game four as well. A race that rebounding gap that existed for the warriors in game three almost single handedly. So like their ability to take on that kind of salary has put them in a position to win this series because I'm not sure I'm not sure any other team Howard would have done the kind of deal the warriors did involving Durant to take on a max guy and D'angelo Russell became a max guy in Andrew Wiggins and that's enabled them to have the kind of depth that's put them in this position. Yes, but let me just push back for a second because the framing makes it seem as though the warriors are buying their way to a title or something. And I saw that because they're not homegrown. They're homegrown. They're absolutely homegrown. And this is not, you know, minus the Durant thing from 2016, which was a, you know, bizarre, you know, salary cap spike, all that stuff that went with it. Yeah, they drafted stuff. They drafted clay the drafted draymond. They're the ones who revived or gave Gary Payton the second, the chance to actually have a career when he was, you know, this close to hanging it up after bouncing around the league for years. And they're the ones who figured out how to unlock Andrew Wiggins and yeah, it helps to have him next to better players, but and they drafted kevon Looney and they made the investments in these guys. And yes, there's a financial investment too. And Brian winters isn't wrong, I love windy. He's not wrong to note the fact that the warriors made a massive financial commitment in terms of payroll and luxury taxes, not just this season, but for years running up to this..

"We've watched this warriors team now for 5 games. I think you're similar to me. Like you just always enjoyed the curry experience and just the play and all that. I think if the warriors win and I didn't really get there tonight I was like, man, that doesn't seem like a finals team to me. We're like Wiggins is their second best player. That doesn't make a lot of sense. But he has gotten better during the series, which you can't say about anybody in the south. But the big thing for me is their offense is just consistently at least solid. And sometimes good and then sometimes really good. They got to they got to a hundred points again. They're always, they never have droughts. I guess this is my point. That third quarter drought they had was pretty unusual for them. It's really hard to hold them down and then when they can come back with this barrage of threes like they had in the second quarter when all of a sudden it was like three, three, three, I think they had four threes in a row. But I think the fact that they have been able to play clay and pool and curry together or clay tab pool out there where we're not tortured, torching him, has been their biggest advantage. It seems like they always have two scores out there, right? And I mean, the thing is, I know he had his first bad game of the series, but Steph creates it's very hard to not get a good look when you're on the court with Steph Curry. He just demands like, you know, the movement he creates with the defense, just with his ball handling, the switches he's creating. And so, you know, obviously an open look for clay is a great shot. Wiggins, he was over 6 from three tonight, but he's proved very capable around they're all good shots. And so they tend to get really good shots. I mean, look, we love Steph Curry. We love how he's everybody loves Steph Curry. We love how he's changed the game. You know, from that pistons Nick slugfest of the turn of the century to this just wide open, you know, you've got a guard guys at 35 feet now. You know, it's insane. And so, you know, if you have to get beaten by anybody, Steve Kerr and Steph Curry are not, they're not real villains, you know? I mean, it's like you really you don't want to lose to draymond, but that's super annoying. Yeah, curry crates, even if he doesn't have the box fort, it is one of those. You kind of have to actually watch the game. You can't just look at the stats. He creates so many four on threes. There's so many open looks. There's so much running on the defensive side. I would love to see somebody try to break that in the stats when people play the warriors through the perimeter guys just run more because it just feels like they're at maximum exertion. It would be so frustrating to just see this guy every couple of days for two weeks. He is crazily fit. He can run, he can run baseline screens. He can just he can just run, run, run. And if you take a breath, the ball's in the basket. Of his 14 field goals in game four, 12 of them were contested. Come on. Yeah, so you think they hit with that pool draft pick? The Wiggins trade was great. They were able to salvage a declining draymond, at least in this game. I thought he was fairly effective and he had a couple drives down the lane stuff like that. The loony thing. Who's gotten less minutes as serious goes on. The big adjustment they seem to make is they're okay going smaller. They don't feel like our size can hurt them in the same way because they're getting our bigs in space. I mean, that's been part of what's been such a bummer about Tatum's inability to finish around the rim. It's like, they don't have any rim protectors. It doesn't make sense. Dunk on them. What is going on? Is it interesting to look at these two teams and like I mentioned Middleton earlier and I mean, that buck series goes 7 and I don't think we win it if Middleton can play. And then a Gritty Jimmy Butler, the ball is in the air with 11 seconds left. We're not winning that game if that three pointer goes in. And then on their side of the bracket, you know, I mean John Moran gets hurt and then they Dodge the suns. So you could argue that neither of these teams really finals. But of the two teams that are in the finals, the team that had a 123 games of finals experience seems to be the one that's going to prevail. And they're very well coached. Kurt has little, I've been so impressed by it. I've sent biased. I'd like her I've been friends with them for a long time, but you know, it's not like he's been he's been hitting home runs as a coach, right? He has if you go really watch the last 7 minutes of game 7, 2016. There's rough moments. He's got Azealia on an island against LeBron for two straight threes and so I'm not saying he's like the greatest coach of all time, but I think he's been amazing in these playoffs and it's like little stuff, right? He'll call the timeout after somebody makes the first free throw. And then he calls it, just like these little touches or he'll call a timeout, they're up 8 or they're up ten in the Celtics make a three and he'll just immediately call the timeout to stop it. So we don't even feel like we have momentum. You know, you mentioned the avalanche, he's courtside for so many avalanches that his team does to other teams that he's acutely aware of like, oh, this might be the start of one for them. And it's always better to call the timeout a little early than a little late and he always does. As soon as you get excited, you're like, oh, I think we're starting to make a run. He's like, oh, he knows. So he's called timeout. And.

"Yeah or nay on them. I'd be more towards the yay part of it. Like I like Wendell Carter, I don't think he's going to be as impactful as ayton. And if you're Orlando and you go, okay, we have this pick, we've got ayton, we've got Franz, who is one of the better rookies this year. He got suggs jabari Franz and ayton, and that's your four. That's pretty good. I think myself back into it. Yeah, I think it moves up. And I'm going to talk about this this week on the draft. Never underestimate the person who's making the decision of what their stature is in that spot. Like who has like Pat Riley could do whatever he wants. You know what I mean? And depending on what happens like if Tim Conley takes the Detroit job, Tim Conley can do whatever he wants because excuse me. Minnesota. Right. Tim Conley could come to Minnesota and kind of do whatever he wants. He should have been able to do whatever he wants. But it's just a lot more money. Waiting for him in Minnesota if that happens. But he looked at the Michael Porter MRI last week. He's like, yeah, I'm going to return that Minnesota call. The money is so different. The combine rumors that we're hearing about Conley and what this contract could mean with Minnesota. It's not, it's not the same job, basically. These are rumors, but when you're at the combine for a few days and you keep hearing the same number over and over again, you go, oh, this is, I'm telling you, Bill, it's such a huge number. Makes sense for them. They want credibility. So dore would be flip Carter, maybe throw a coal Anthony in it for 8 and if you're Phoenix, you'd rather have Carter at 14 million and be onboard as the backup or whatever and patchwork centers over paying 8 and 30 if you're cheap. Door B for Orlando would just be to sign James Harden. And just come back, James time. We'll take them off your hand, Philly. We got the Catherine. All right, here's a trade I like more. And a team I like more for Aiden is OKC. Okay, so he's picking second. OKC has picked two 1230 and 34. OKC has a ton of cap space. They could just take 8 and Phoenix could just take the picks back and not even take any contracts. They could do a Sarge favor switch as part of the trade. They could include a future first. They could just dump some picks and just say, yeah, we'll take 8 and here's some picks. And you can use those picks to do whatever. And take either palo or jabari who's ever left, put them next to and if I'm okay and I have Shea and I have door and I have giddy and I have the chance to have Paolo or jabari with ayton or maybe even Chet Nate and I'm doing it. And I don't care about the picks. I have too many picks anyway. What am I gonna do with them? What are they gonna do with two 1230 and 34 this year? And then all the other picks to happen. So take a swing. What would be the deal again coming back to Phoenix though? I would do, I would offer them 1230 and 34. And I would offer the, I would do the favor Sarge swap. And I would throw in a future pick. And I'd be like, we're just removing this guy from your cap. You can start over. You can patch the center position together. And we'll give them the 30 million. Obviously, I would not too would not be in play for me. Well, so two's not in play, which you shouldn't be in play. It's not going to be in play pressing. Presti falls to the category. He can do whatever he wants. 12 is a good pick, though. 12 is a good pick, but I need a player. Like, I know everybody hates the sun's guts right now. But there's still a good chance that this can be a really good team next year. And I know that's not what people want to hear, but that's not the way it works. And if you're actually moving on from ayton, you'd look around and say, well, we still invested for Paul and Paul. We've got two more years. We've got the non guaranteed moving forward. We've invested in bridges. We've invested in Booker. We need to add something to this. It's not just some toss in asset to do 8 in the favor of getting his money somewhere else. And that's kind of, I think, the dare here is I think that the suns looked at who has cap space and said, well, it's 8 and really want to sign an offer sheet with one of these teams. And I think he might now because he's upset enough about it. And I'm sure he's going to right. And in today's landscape, it's not about where you sign. It's about how soon you can ask out of where you've signed, because that whole thing has been moved up here. So the suns may have thought, well, maybe he's not going to do it. I think he will. But the history for restricted free agents doing offers 17 have had offers and only 7 have gone unmatched. And then you've got the complications where if it's cap space team, it's one thing, if it's not a cap space team, he's a base your compensation thing, so it's not a new $30 million trade piece. It's a $15 million trade police plus the 25%. So that makes it a little bit weirder. So I need a little bit more juice than, you know, I kept thinking about different trades for 8 and going, you know, could you talk to Charlotte and some version of this, but it makes it a little more complicated on the sign of trade. Can you find a way to land at a place in the draft where you think you get a piece back that is NBA playoff rotation ready that you like.

"That everything's still going to work out. It's unlike any other city except for probably Los Angeles, you know, any other city that goes, well, they'll figure this out and they'll pull it out and when they were when they got it to one and Jalen hit that three. I go, they're going to win this game. I go, hell, if they stop handing the ball off every other possession, they can win this game. It would have been a horrific loss for Miami. All time. All the time. But also like an all time win now, which makes you question things because to win that without butler because everybody makes for anyone that's good makes a run. I can argue all sorts of angles on this one. I could say there's no way boss is going to do that again. Look at Tatum's history and game 5 when they lost to the bucks. He was two for 11. He ended up with a ton of points because two 11 from three took 29 shots. He was inefficient. Didn't feel like a great game comes back plays one of the greatest games he's ever going to play with 46 in game 6. Does Tatum do like we saw in the beginning that Milwaukee series like, wait, Wesley Matthews is going to own you and game one. You're 16 and game one. And then guess what? Tatum responded. So we keep updating who Tatum is legacy wise, probably far too often. But the other part of this series that's worth pointing out, which could also be interesting and slightly irrelevant. Boston's only lost two of the 12 quarters and they're down two one, and there's a chance they're going to lose this year. Even though I think lost is better and there's no rob. It doesn't feel like this, oh my, it's not Dallas getting past Phoenix if Miami beats Boston. You know what it felt like you appreciate this. Remember that 2002 to 2004 stretch where the Celtics played in some of the most brutal games that have ever happened. What was that one game? I was like 67, 66 was the final. Where it was just, it.

"In an amusement park. With a ticket for a ride there. You know, another guy who was a little like what we're talking about. Rasheed was a good example of Detroit. Buying pretty low on a guy with some real pedigree. But the Celtics getting Robert parish in 1981 is basically, you know, they trade back from one to three in the McHale trade. The words why Joe Barry Carroll and rbac just gets them to throw in Paris. She has to throw in the 13th pick and Paris at that point. You know, had the wrap of really talented, doesn't really give a shit. And he's in this weird gold state situation. I mean, Golden State was a mess in general. Comes to Boston and it becomes this really valuable guy, he's the best version of one of these trades, because that's a good example where we're talking about the top. Sometimes you're just in the wrong situation. I don't think that's the only reason. Wiggins was so frustrating in Minnesota, but I think it was a reason. And I'm really impressed by him. And in the next series, if it ends up being the Celtics, they're going to need them because the Tatum. And if it ends up being Miami, they're going to need them because butler. And they're going to need because clay can't guard those guys anymore like that. And you really want to draymond like roaming around like he does and doing all that stuff. So that part of it, man, that they have somebody because remember we were trying to match it all out and you're like, well, how much draymond are they going to use the Luca? Because you thought maybe they're just going to feel like they have to do it because you're always going to be looking for staff, fool doesn't play defense, no Gary Payton, clay, who has, I mean, look, athletically tonight. That's probably as good as we've seen him. You know, he's given us little glimpses at the end of the regular season, but it's not something we're defensively. You feel like you can hold up for a long amount of time, even though when he did get that switch with Luca late, he held up really well, stayed in front of him. But the Wiggins minutes where Lucas still scoring a million points, but that Wiggins allows you anything, you know, starting your offense a little bit later that it's not, I mean, nobody's a match for Luca at this point. That's probably as important in this series to get to the three O lead as anything offensively that Wiggins has done. Really impressive win by them. This is the spot it just has usually the makings of the road team is down ten early and just can never get it going. Especially then, by the way, their personality is that of like, hey, we got these guys, like they blew game to they.

"Fantastic, man. But there's also been some playoff things with him where you're like, why are you taking that shot on this team? There's been some late game shots the last couple of years. You're like, what? Wait, like you thought you were the guy to take that. So the playing game last year, he did that. Exactly. You know, they're sneaky tall guys. Like chuck close to him, sneaky tall guy. It's like 6 three. Really wow. Tony corn. Yeah, Tony, there's certain guys you mean, I'm apparently a sneaky tall guy to some people. Some people think I'm like 5 8, 6 one and a half. No, I think people want you to be 5 8. Same day with me. People want me to be like 5, 7 so bad. And they're like, oh, they want the talking head sky to be tiny. Wiggins is kind of, this is weird to say about a basketball player, but he's like a sneaky tall big guy. That you kind of don't think he's guarding Luca and he's the same size as Luca and physically. Can really hold up to him. And I just don't think of him in my head as like this 6 8 fiscal guy. 'cause that's in your head, you think he's more out of that 6 foot 6 for typical shooting guard guy, but he's not. He's actually like a bigger dude than that. You know, it's a good point because when I think of him at his size, I don't feel like he's that much bigger than bridges when I watch him on the court, but he is. And despite the bridge's defensive, I'm not going to look at that series and now think Mikel bridges sucks on defense because he doesn't, because he playing the perimeter, I mean, the rim contest stuff that bridges did. But it's clear that Wiggins is more of impediment, more of an impediment than bridges was. Like bridges just was not he couldn't hold up. He was physically. Yeah, he can physically keep his ground when Lucas doing that LeBron thing. Give himself a chance, you know? Like bridges felt like he was.

"Frustrating thing about him, but at the same time, I do feel like until he got to go and state, I would say his career was kind of a bad beat. It was the wrong type of guy to go to the wrong type of situation that he went to. And he was putting up stats. That's the thing. You go through every year, he was pretty much 17 to 22 points a year. And he was pretty durable. So I think from the warriors making a bet that they could probably pull the best possible pieces out of them. It's pretty smart bet. We've seen teams do that before with the high pedigree lottery guys. Especially when you go to Golden State, just life's going to be that much easier. I remember talking to a team source about it. And it's just a really simple basketball observation. This guy, with all the movement, with all of the freedom that you'll have because of all the attention that's going to be on Steph and then at the time it was thought to be prime clay. And then draymond's playmaking. This is incredibly you're going to be at worst, I guess, with the most pressure on you, you'd be the fourth most important player on the team. And there's been moments where he might not even be the 5th most important player on this team, depending on what pool's done or certain moments, like what Looney did in game two. So I kind of always, a lot of people disagree with me on this, but I actually feel stronger and stronger about this as I get older because it applies to sports as much as people. When somebody has a certain personality and then we ask, like, why would this guy do this? They're like, well, that's who he is. The key does these things because this is who he is. And these are decisions that he makes. So whenever we talk about athletes and you'll be like, oh, I wonder why this is like, yeah, some people just kind of have that personality. Like one of my least favorite comps that I'll ever hear is when people say, well, why can't you just build an offense for Ben Simmons, like you did Giannis? You're like, have you watched either of those players play? Do you understand anything about their personalities? Do you understand the gap between the way they see competition? I don't care about the size and the skills and these things and the limitations both have from the outside. Giannis is a completely different person, his DNA, his mental makeup is completely different. Benson is never going to be that. So don't ask for it. Smith. Who?.

"For them in a playoff series. They're about to make the finals. It looks like. And they get the pick for a guy Russell that you and I don't really like that much. Well, we know the part that you're going to hear later that was taped before the game that once I made a very strong anti Wiggins Hall of Fame argument, which I still think is somewhat strong. He was going to go off tonight. So that's just done. I was like, he's going to have 40. You inspired a and he had a poster dunk too. He dunked that Luca. The rare, they reversed the call. I couldn't believe it. I figured they would just go with his off arm and Lucas sold it a little bit. But I was just happy for just if you believe in anything in life, that should be two points. Yeah, that's like a spirit of the spirit of the game. Are you surprised? Well, let's talk about Wiggins first. There's that there's that what if with him in 2014 were Cleveland as the first pick, but all of a sudden LeBron's coming back to Cleveland. And I remember there's a piece of my grantland archives about this about me wondering if it made sense to actually keep Wiggins and for LeBron to use the next couple of years to kind of they had a young roster that Kyrie tried to train Wiggins basically to be his pippin. To be his athletic sidekick, defender doesn't need to have the ball like Laurent does and stuff like that, but they traded him obviously to Minnesota in his career in a different direction. He always put up stats. But when I saw a game like tonight, it makes me think like, let's say they just keep them for a year to see if they like them. Or let's say Kevin Love isn't sitting there. They just don't have a trade and they're like, let's take Wiggins and we'll just keep them. Do you think his career is different? I hear this a lot, you know, people talk about quarterbacks a lot like, oh, you know, bad coaching staff, they changed the coordinator. Usually the children coordinators so much. It's because you're not playing well. I'm not as big of a believer on that, that there's some alternative choose your own adventure life path as a basketball player for auntie Wiggins. I think the problems for him coming out of Kansas. You know, whenever we look at any draft prospect, you go, hey, if it works out, it's going to be because it's a lead athleticism. He'll develop more as a shooter. I remember thinking at some point with him to even talking to teams to go at the very worst, you're going to get this elite defensive player because of his length size and athleticism. And for a very large check of his career, he's been an incredibly disappointing defensive player. So I don't know that his personality would have changed all of a sudden. I just don't. I mean, I'm sure other people would argue it, but I mean, I think what's so frustrating about him is that he should be a really consistently great basketball player. I'm not talking about one of the all time greats. But somebody that you depend upon as opposed to being surprised when he plays like this tonight, but I think that's his career. Yeah, and there's been a lot of guys like that over the years. And I think she was like, do you think it'd be different for him if you started in Cleveland and it was just. I do think sometimes, especially with basketball, that if you end up in a really good situation and you end up with the right person next to you? It can shift. I think you're destiny can shift a little bit. I also believe that if you have the skill set and the personality that he had and you just go to the Minnesota wasteland and basically you're one highlight was your Jimmy Butler was there and all he did was MF and your teammates for the entire year he was there and talk about what you guys didn't have. And then he leaves. He blows his way out of there. And there was a stigma to him at the same time. You and I have talked about how frustrating he's been. I don't know how many times in this pod. He's the prototypical example of I was at the game and I forgot you were out there. You know, when we talked about the all star team for that, it's like, wow, you were out there for the whole third quarter. I didn't even notice. Think about, oh, go ahead, go ahead. No, I think that's the.

"This is the crossover. An NBA show hosted by Sports Illustrated's Chris mannix and Howard back. It's a whole new level for you and me, Chris. This relationship. Like and subscribe for the best weekly NBA content. These two are capable of. What does that mean? Could be the best duo ever. Don't see how you can beat that. Here they are. Chris mannix, and Howard back. All right, welcome back crossover. NBA podcast Chris mannix and Howard Beck and Howard has your outrage subsided over the addition of Andrew Wiggins to the all star team. You know I have so much outrage that I nearly threw my back out shoveling snow yesterday just to channel that outrage. So you make jokes though, but like people are crazy. Like the outrage over Andrew Wiggins being named a starter. Now, I get it. Like you can be outraged over the warriors being smarter than everybody else playing the system, getting that KPop star involved to goose the votes for Andrew Wiggins, but if you're pissed at that, also be pissed at the players who gave Andrew Wiggins a whole bunch of votes to get him into that starting spot. It wasn't just the fans that were voting for Andrew Wiggins. Well, I'll say this. I have a strict policy against having any outrage at all over things like all star snubs. It's a silly overwrought ridiculous annual discussion. But you know, it gets us through podcasts and radio shows. So we do it. And fans got a rage on Twitter because that's what fans are on Twitter to do. Look, was he the most deserving third front court member in the Western Conference? No. Draymond green his own teammate was probably a better choice, though draymond may not have been able to make it anyway because of injury. We'll see. Rudy Gobert, certainly, I think has a right to feel a little snubbed. Again, I'm not outraged on his behalf. I don't care, but was he a better candidate? Yes. Did you and I both vote for him on our official media ballots? Yes. Did the media overall have Gobert as the third guy? Yeah, but the players didn't the fans didn't. And so what do you think of that, by the way? What do you make of the players not having Gobert as high well they should? Let's go back to that for a second. Okay. The NBA changed the system a few years ago because they worried after there was the massive Zaza pachulia influx of votes from Georgia, not Georgia the state, but Georgia the country on the other side of the world. And the league was worried that this whole thing was now subject to some messing around with. So they wanted to balance this out, make sure that the fan vote was not all encompassing. And so they created this new system with media getting 25% and players getting 25% fans getting 50. So the tie still goes to the fan vote, the fans still have the majority of the influence. But in theory, this new system was to backstop it so that you couldn't have something outrageous happen. Andrew Wiggins is not outrageous. Andrew Wiggins is a, in most years, we'd call him like a bubble candidate, right? We'd say he's a fringe candidate, which means you're still a candidate. I don't begrudge him getting all star. I don't think starter makes sense. And the NBA's system clearly did not. I don't think it worked, frankly. But you ask him about the players. I mean, where did the players have Gobert? I think fourth behind. He wasn't, I don't think in the top three. I think he was fourth behind draymond if I recall correctly. So, you know, that even that is not like if that's not an indication that the players don't respect Rudy Gobert, it's just that they had more respect for what the warriors had done and given that the warriors are having this revival season, it makes perfectly good sense that players around the league, respecting what draymond does that, look, he's not a guy who's a statistical all star, but he's the hub of their offense. The backbone of their defense, and the warriors are a contender again. So that's the only one responsible for that. Just to clarify, I was wrong on that. The players, 58 votes for draymond green, 52 for Rudy Gobert and 46 for Andrew Wiggins, but it was those 46 that helped Wiggins get into that starting lineup. When you factor that into what he got with the fan vote, 'cause the media voting, he didn't get it, barely anything at all. He got Gobert got 65 votes from the media votes. Green got 20, and Wiggins just got four. So it was the players that pushed Andrew Wiggins over the top. So get as mad as you want about, you know, it's not fair that KPop stars can create all stars, but it's not just that. It's also the players pushing Andrew Wiggins to get this far. Sure, but I do think because this is the other thing, right? If the media and the players split on who the second guard is or the third front court player is, it leaves it vulnerable to the fan vote as being dominant in the overall calculation. And so and, you know, that's kind of what happened here. So I don't know. I wonder if the league I've not asked anybody this question because I didn't really care that much, but I might ask anyway now that I'm curious about another we're talking about. I wonder if the legal consider any other tweaks to the process? Not because weakens is so outrageous. I don't want this to be insulted Andrew Wiggins, but just because I'm not sure if this is the way the system or the outcome, the system was designed to create. There's no solution. You can make it a 100% fans and you will get like some foreign born player that doesn't deserve to be in the starting lineup into the starting lineup. Or you will have influential pop stars from all corners of the world having an oversized impact on these votes. You give it to the media. I gotta be okay with that. I mean, I spent a lot of time thinking about who the starting lab should be, which I think you should do, right? Like you should commit time and energy to votes like this, or you can give it to the coaches, you want to give it to the players. I don't know. Either way, no matter what happened, there's always going to be some flaw in the system that people are going to get upset about. Two last thoughts on this. One is the All-Star Game unlike all NBA. Look, it's based on only a half season. It's not the same level of honor. And there is this philosophy or this thought out there that, you know, may or may not really be the case that, well, this is the fans game. The older games of fans gave to the fans get in the past a 100% of the vote now 50% of the vote because it's for the fans. So if we want to call it a quote unquote popularity contest, it's okay because it results in getting players in an event that's made for TV that doesn't matter anyway. And that is for the fans. Of course, it is also part of a guy's overall NBA resume. We use number of all star games a number of all NBA a number of everything else to judge where a guy fit into his era where he fits in historically. Where he is in the overall top 25, the top 100, the top 500, whatever. This stuff all matters. And so there is that. I do think if the NBA and again, this is a big if I don't know what they're thinking on this. If the NBA sees this result as another warning sign that maybe this system can still be hijacked, you could ratchet down the fan vote to 25% or maybe it's 33 and a third and we go 33 33 33. There are other ways they could do it to reduce how much weight the fan vote gets. Well, yeah, but even if you did that, like Wiggins would still have a shot at getting in because he did get 46 votes from players, so I don't know, but I think he'd be close. It's the way we all ended up ranking. It's the media rankings, not the number of votes. It's who got first second third with the media first, second, third, with the players. So I don't think it's a number of votes that matters..

"Update today, he did come on and say, I didn't say never will. He said that I just decided to not do right now. So we'll see where it goes. And then Jonathan Isaac said that unvaccinated vaccinated players are being vilified and bullied. That was the way that he sees that. And I know we have talked about him injury wise as well as Mark L faults, but that was something that he put out there that he feels like players who are not vaccinated are being targeted in the way to get it. 90%, 90 plus percent of the NBA is vaccinated. So we're not talking about the majority here that is dealing with this situation, but the fact that it's some high profile names, I think that's turning this into an even bigger story. Well, the reality is, if it was Joe camp player, no one cares. Because it's your own the roster for the next few weeks and then you're out of here. So I don't really care if you're vaccinated or not. For the general public. I mean, that's just the reality of the situation. But also, Joe camp player, guy fighting for a roster spot. I can tell you have had multiple conversation with players with agents and teams, where it was, yeah, it's absolutely a factor. And do we, Gary, are you going to be available to play? Think about if you're a guy trying to fight your way onto the nets or the warriors roster? The last thing you probably can get away with the same, but I'm not gonna be able to play half. Oh, yeah. You're gonna move on and go get a different player just 'cause it's, you know, and you could say fair unfair scream up and down. Well, playing in the NBA is a privilege. It's not a right. It's not something everybody gets to because otherwise suit me up. I'll be out there. It's not how this works..

Warriors Reject Sixers’ Steep Asking Price for Ben Simmons
"Sixers are asking the Warriors per keep pumping, who covers the sixties for The Philadelphia Inquirer for Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, the seventh pick in tonight's draft, the 14th pick in tonight's draft. And to future first round picks. So four first round picks. Wiggins and Wiseman. Basically That's six first round picks if you think about it. 7 14 to future. Wiggins was an early first round pick, and James Wiseman was just the second pick in the draft. So if you want to say, because Wiggins played in the league for a little bit hit, and he's kind of been underwhelming. Wise, but at least they're still has that potential. Even after his first season, it's basically Wiggins And five first round picks for Ben Simmons. If I'm the Golden State warriors. I'm glad they said no. And I don't think that price is going to be met for Ben Simmons.

Curry's 30-point run ends
"Out there that says rules are made to be broken. Well, records are made to be broken as well. Streaks are made to be surpassed or made to come to an end, and it just so happened. That Steph Curry ran into a formidable defender in Russell Westbrook as the Warriors air wrapping up their road trip on Wednesday in Washington. Steph Curry has to take on for the most part. The battle of the hounding the aggressiveness. Russell Westbrook and you know Russ is tenacious. I mean, The man's relentless He likes to prove a point. He likes a personal challenge. This was a game in which the Warriors were up big early. And then we're up by 11 in the fourth quarter. What got sloppy. And then the shooting went cold in the fourth and so very quickly, the Wizards were able to narrow the gap. They were definitely missed opportunities for the Warriors. But the Wizards were able to take care of. There's real rocking the cradle back and forth. I'll cut stores, right head down right block to the basket Bank and score bacon score because he runs by Russell Westbrook. Hello five as it was to fly high 1 14 1 10 with 55 seconds left. Bradley. Beal had 29 points in this matchup against Curry. Top two scorers in the N B A to start tonight, Curry had just passed. Bradley Beal Washington rallies from 11 down in that final quarter. But even in that last minute after the lay up with Dave John that you hear with Dave Johnson on the Wizard's radio network, even after that, Warriors got a big feel and Andrew Wiggins blew a wide open layup that would have tied the game in the final. I think it was the final 10 seconds I was listening to the game on the war years radio network.

2021 Lottery NBA Mock Draft
"Tony. And i are going to do our first lottery. Mock draft of the year today. We're going to go back and forth. Selecting picks to put a draft order together. Midseason is really difficult. Especially if you've looked at the standings anytime lately and seen how bunch together so many of these teams are so i went to espn's basketball power index That list teams projected records to the season through a number of statistical factors. I think it's it's probably a better look. At where teams are going to be at the end of the season then necessarily their records right now and then based off of that we put together a draft order that obviously is going to change and obviously will be affected by the nba draft lottery where the top top three teams each have a fourteen percent chance of getting the top pick and so on as you know how the draft lottery works and so doing a mock draft. This time of season tough until really until the draft lotteries over. We don't really know the order but but we have some guesses now based off of where teams what teams have played. And what's going on right now and we're going to do our best to give you a are mock draft For the twenty twenty one season. First one we're just gonna cover the lottery and we're going to let tony how the first pick in the draft and based off of that. Espn bpi has the minnesota timberwolves projected to have the worst record in the league. Which is actually pretty good news for minnesota timberwolves fans because the timber wolves have to trade pick to the golden state warriors if this is pick four thirty and so the only way minnesota keeps this pick is if they fall into top three right now. If the season were tomorrow they'd have about a forty point. Seven percent chance of keeping this year's draft pick a falling the top three in the draft. So this is no guarantee from minnesota that they'll have the number one pick they all said the number one pick last year. Tony you're on the board. Who do you select if you're the timber. Wolves with the number one. Pick in the twenty twenty one nba draft. I select the I will not need three minutes to make the selection I'm selecting k. Cunningham six hundred seventy one hundred twenty point guard out of oklahoma state and so when you When you make your draft selections you do to you draft for two things you draft For value and you draft for need and this is both in pick antibi- you pick for for for the minnesota timberwolves number one. K cunningham is the best player draft You know. I think the gap is actually close Because you know. I think jonathan coachman gain in jalen green. You know both of those guys you look at them and they have some real special tools But that being said you know k. Cunningham is is still am. I is the most shore Most short superstar player in his draft. In and i think that's a compliment to how good distract is going to be especially in the top five But you know cunningham can score at all three levels. No he's sick. He's all seven all twenty. He's he's a natural point guard You know if you're minnesota you're trying to trace the ngelo russell Like as soon as possible In you know you put k. cunningham in the backcourt with anthony edwards who i think both of us can safely say it's better than we thought he would And i think that. That's obviously a backward for the future for the minnesota timberwolves in a really nice triumvirate with karl anthony towns so Definitely you know we all rights won't always talk about. We need some some of these number. One picks the go out east but you get the number one pick in another kind of generational prospect that comes to the western conference. I'm totaling till the agreement with you. Tony i think look. I don't think. I think there's five guys that can make a claim to the number one pick in this draft and so it's not like cunningham is a lock here but because of that i would put all of these players in the same tier and then when you look at what minnesota actually needs on their basketball team. Right now i think cunningham is just the right fit for this team as well and i i see him as a really nice compliment to karl anthony towns and to ant man right now and i think that this is this will be a huge boon for minnesota. If they get this pick and you know look everybody in minnesota has got gotta be crossing their fingers at this point Like you said if they fall out of the top three golden state gets this pick. And i think golden state already one that andrew wiggins dangelo russell trade as it is but if they end up getting you know the fourth or fifth pick in the draft does as as well. It's going to be an absolute massacre on that trade.

Mine is ready to be the small ball five or Pascual can Like with his matchup, but if they're all struggling You're looking at Wiggins, Uh, you know, it's like where they go if they have a rebound their problem, and they have a Fallon problem, So if they can't at least compete in the paint, like Boston could give him a proper But they're looking at two or three or you're looking at having a sweet one of the serious Real quick before he let you go. I didn't think he shoot for u percent from three and I didn't think he'd be an all NBA defense calibers I've got so I got ahead of the game. I didn't wanna Joe covering the streets with me. I don't wanna have to hear about it. Besides, you owe the debt. You just gotta go to the loan shark and be like, Look, I got your money on Friday, so I went through. That's a good move. Be proactive about it. Right. Let's stocking your guy got apologize. That's a good piece. That's good, right? It's perfect. Hey, thanks, man will talk too soon. All right. Have a good with Yeah. Uh, look at the Sunday piece that he did. He's got a lot of good stuff in there. Yeah, you had to go back to the Joe, wake up and apologize for that Take on the original take on the trade, so That was just the first half. I was fully on board with that trade. But, Joan, I got into it right before we went on the air at opening night of Chase the year before, because I didn't like the ANC. D'Angelo Russell trade. You have it? He assured me he will be able to flip D'Angelo Russell. I'm like good luck. Who's going to check the Angela? Well, we were they They knew Minnesota would take him They knew. They knew. Gerson Rastas were taken there. But for a while there when Wiggins got off to the great start, I didn't think you'd be. You'd be able to make that trade, but that's come on. Why would you You didn't like trading D'Angelo Russell for Andrew Wiggins. I mean, she's would've driven D'Angelo Russell there. You were not a fan right from the get go. I wasn't a fan to getting of initially because you're gonna be stuck with him. You're gonna be stuck with him. He's gonna take that guy. But Minnesota, Glen Taylor and Gerson Rosas. The Golden State Warriors Path to Regain Glory
"Hello hello pablo. I am so excited to talk to you today. Because you have been digging into the golden state warriors and you've talked to their players. Their coaches their executives. But i want to know what other people are curious about. They hear that you're writing a future on the warriors. What did they want to know can still work can steph curry dragged his team by the scruff of its neck into the playoff field. Can they approximate without klay thompson. Kevin durant gone even a glimmer of what they were during their dynasty. And that's what people wanna know. And at the center of all of this kevin this week in particular is steph curry and we can't begin this conversation without talking about what he did specifically on sunday night. How would you describe what you saw. It was a volcano curry leads. In one hand or just off balance grows it up. It's good he's got fifty. Career screen takes a deep free. It's god fifty nine points. Curry takes another three. It's up job. He's got sixty two just unspeakable three point attempts that no person with a good conscience ever a nation of basketball coaches is freaking out. Because they're going to have fourteen year olds in practice pulling up from thirty seven feet. There was the sense coming out of their very met to into road trip. That steps showing few signs he might. It's gonna happen. It may happen. Don't you think it's going to happen. He's starting to move differently. We're starting to find him. The ball and places he likes it and as draymond green said to somebody on the staff. All it takes is one in. We saw that one sunday night against portland and essentially recreated the steph. We knew for those five years over the dynasty. Let's be clear about what the prelude to that career high sixty two was because he was shooting. What like twenty percent from three in those first two games so when people are begging hoping for that volcano to start shaking again. Why do you think it actually ended up exploding as it did. I mean one is just the laws of inevitability second is in your staff. They all emphasize this. And it sounds a little bit like spin. If you're if you're sort of cynical which is look. He's playing with guys that he's never played with before. But when you really start digging into it and you remember what it was like to watch the weird they don't run scripted sets all that much mall. Those great beautiful plays that you see that. Look like basketball ballet. They use intuition. They use a million reps playing together to sort of know where everybody's going to be almost telepathically on the floor. And so you've seen that a million times steph. Runs comes off a pick and roll. He gives the ball up. He relocates to the corner other people kind of follow him there. Somebody comes off the other side and then steph kind of relocates again and you find him and it's so second nature if you watched it for five straight years you come to take it for granted but if the other guys on. The floor aren't versed in the dark arts of golden state warriors movement. It's harder and it was something that i think other teammates. The new guys andrew wiggins kelly oubre rookie. James wideman guys. Who haven't played as long with him. It takes a little while to get in the rhythm. There was like a moment. I think in the milwaukee their second loss of the season where you saw step come off one of those speaking roles and he was going to kind of go fast too slow to the right corner and there was somebody there right and it wasn't the fault of a teammate. It's just they're not equipped with the intuition and just the nuances of golden state warriors basketball. Which essentially is how do we find steph. The right shot at the right moment at the right time precisely where he wants it. It's funny

Warriors' plan aims to allow 50% fan capacity
"Year. We should have something to cheer about. But now, of course No fans or will there be? Or in the ESPN. Ramona Shelburne. Warriors have a plan a very expensive plan. Get 50% capacity at Chase Center this year. If you might be saying deter, how the hell are they going to do that? And I asked the same question. And I'm still pretty skeptical that they can pull this off because as of yesterday or maybe even the day before that, I believe they just rolled back. Lot of openings that we were doing here in the city of San Francisco. Situation is not getting better. Getting worse. We're not going to get into the nitty gritty of that. Because that is something I'm not fully qualified to do, Nor probably are you unless you are. George Rutherford, Dr Jordan Rutherford Police feel free to call in Anyway, KNBR. Warriors want to get 50% capacity. At Chez Center. And here's How Joe Lake up who, by the way Bio tech billionaire public health. Degree from U C. L A nose a little bit about. This has a little bit of expertise in this area. I wouldn't say he's epidemiologists or anything like that. I wouldn't put him in charge of the Coronavirus task force. Or anything like that, but certainly more qualified than myself. To figure out how to get 50% capacity. At Chase Center. Now bear with me hear it does get a little In the weeds. But when we're talking about this, we need to be specific about what the hell's going on. This information is important, even if it is a little dense. I'll do my best here but bear with me. The plan is Lakers going to spend $30 million Which you might say That's chump change. That's an Andrew Wiggins. The test every fan employees and player Media to be determined. I would imagine that he's not going to spend the money on us Can't really blame him. Of course, you will have masks and you will have distancing. But the plan is they're going to use a rapid PCR test. So the PCR test that's the deep one right where they get real up in the nose. Those were supposed to be about 99% accurate Now, Joe Lake Up, says he's gotta read. He's got a He's got a guy. He's got a plug. You can get him rapid PCR tests. That means 20 minutes or so you could get an answer, as opposed to what we saw with Major League baseball, where it's 24 hours later, which worked out great at the end of the World Series. I mean bang up job. Think about the amount of times that baseball had a problem this year because of the delay. We're going from 24 hours to 20 minutes. And you might go. We already have rapid testing like that, Peter, we do. There. Auntie Gin tests. Now this is this is the difference. The PCR is the 99% 1. So that's finding any kind of the virus. In your nose. Going up in there finding some of the virus. And then through technology being able to figure out, you know. If you have it or not, If you can't find it after the amplifying, amplifying, amplifying, amplify you don't have it. You got a little bit it. The anti Jin tests are different. They're looking for something that is bound. To the virus. Basically, you have to be shedding the virus in order for the anti Jin test to succeed. Now, those tests are very fast. Take like 10 15 minutes, right? You could get a result. If you're shedding the virus, you probably are showing some symptoms. And so it's estimated. But there is a 30 to 50% miss rate. With these rapid auntie gin tests. Which at a certain point you're like, Why are we bothering with him? Why are we spending all this money? The PCR is the way to go to believe to be 99% accurate. If we could have a situation where the PCR test He's going as fast as the anti gene tests. I don't know about you. But 99% is a lot better than 50% or even 70% on its best day. The Joe Lake up once rapid PCR tests for every fan player and employees. On day of game. Now. I don't know what it's not like You could put everybody in a room in test. Um, just sit around. Mean Chase Center has a great filtration from everything I heard. I heard that well before you know, we really cared about filtration because that was something I cared about him. Big fan, big fan of ventilation. I think they can change out. The air and Chase Center four times an hour like change out the entirety of the air, which seems like a pretty good thing to do. You could also have nothing but outside air coming in. Really let it flow. And I say that would be a good plan. But these rapid PCR tests are the difference. And then George Rutherford. The After mentioned George Rutherford public health expert saying This is as close to a perfect plan as I've seen

How Doris Burke Became An Accidental Pioneer
"We'll. So Dana I can you tell us a little bit about your own relationship with Doris Burke Yeah? I'm Lucky Kavita I. Mean I worked at ESPN for eight years. So Doris was one of the people that I interacted with frequently. I mean we had so much in common with our love for college basketball and we would just chat at games or she shoot me a text. Love that story that you did today you are. You're just you know you did a great job you knocked it out of the park or I would text her. So we've gone back for years and She's just always been the same. That's the coolest thing I can say about Dr is I don't care if she's super popular people are making t-shirts. Drake and all this, and she's still the same that she was when I first met her how would you describe her on air personality and her style in the booth I think what people like about Dr She's She's she's very intelligent and on point about all of her observations, he's got US billy. Donovan says excellent lower body strength and he doesn't reach over. Don't give the official even a window cut the angle. She is not loud. She's not there's no stick to her tough shot contest. Yes. Yes she says something and she really hones in her. She really calls somebody out everyone's Kinda like both. To Me is where Andrew Wiggins has stood in the corners on several possessions. Like steals reporter to. And if you talk to people in the game, they actually say that they they are very respectful of her opinion and they know if she has a problem with something, then there's a problem. We'll Dana you recently wrote a profile on doors for the athletic I. can you tell us a little bit about her background and her early days? She's like a lot of us or at least like me you know kids that grew up just interested in sports. Super. Star Sable. Start Tonight number eleven she moved from Long Island to the Jersey shore to a small town happened to be a park across the street and a basketball hoop and it was like divine intervention right? She hadn't really played a lot of basketball growing up in Long Island. But when she moved, she was young enough that she just that's where she went and there was never a sense of Oh Doris girls don't play sports. It was just whatever you're busy go outside and play sable from outside. and. So she just became a really good ballplayer where really good basketball players are often developed, which is on the playgrounds took all comers boys girls didn't care. The BUZZER GUARD SABLE Head. And grew into a good enough. Basketball players to get a scholarship to providence. We forget that that was a really big deal for young women. Athletes are just weren't a lot of them. That wasn't normal and she recognize it immediately as what it was. It was a ticket for her to get to college and pay for college and established herself in a career. She wasn't there was no WNBA obviously, she knew that this was the path for her future in her life and she just kinda followed it along. Well, she definitely likes to make fun of herself when talking about in her plane, I had it all going on bad hair bad teeth bad clothes, and the only thing I care about whether my jump shot would ever Mack my triple driveability. She does she downplays herself. She doesn't think she wasn't. You know whatever she wasn't the greatest player. You know she was more of a thoughtful player than a an athletic player that sort of thing. Yeah. I mean she's very self deprecating even about her broadcasting career, which is just hilarious. But again, that's what makes Dr. Stars is that she doesn't take herself too seriously. How did she get her start in broadcasting accidentally which I think I can relate that myself but in her circumstance she was coach she went back to providence to be a coach but then she got married and she got to look around. You know this was back when there weren't a lot of. MOMS that were coaches, you know a lot of coaches, maybe one or the other they couldn't do both and she really thought I want to start a family. So she stepped away from coaching and by Dumb luck at the same time Providence decided you know what? We could put a couple of women's basketball games on the radio and we need somebody to do the radio for us and Ella Dar's. You're sitting there. Why don't you do this and she did and she jokes pie five people are listening you probably honestly not wrong. Let's be honest providence women's basketball and some regional network probably not like drawing huge numbers but she loved it and it was easy and it was comfortable and that just sort of Begat one opportunity after another and an big break came because one of the men's basketball. Analyst for the Big East Games couldn't make it into a providence men's game and they were desperate and that she tells us hilarious story was at the emergency room with her son. He had fallen off the weight bunch cut his head open blood everywhere. She's GONNA to bloody shirt and they told her to come down and do play by play and she said, well, I can't play by play but I'll do the color and boom she's on TV and there she. Is I mean no intent to climb some corporate ladder it just sort of opportunity presented itself and she took it.

NBA mock draft: Anthony Edwards or LaMelo Ball as top pick?
"Minnesota Timberwolves had these third worst record this season but won the lottery last night and we'll select first overall in the upcoming NDA draft. lamelo ball has been consistently ranked in the top three prospects. This year's draft and is now projected to go number one overall in this warnings latest mock draft. So Shannon showed the wolf take. That's the question. SKIP. They moved heaven and earth to get the annual Russell. They have Kat Karl Anthony towns they have Andrew. Wiggins. Mellow. Foot. Compatible with very creative thing is that shot is on off the dogs like his brother Lonzo. Beating, people out the dribbling what's the unknowns they've only seen him for twelve games. Now, he's relatively nineteen years of age I. Think Turns Nineteen Couple Days Tomorrow Okay, yeah? But if you look at it all the top picks, you look Anthony Edwards, he's a guard top top in the when he was player of the year this year I think he's I think he's a three and then James Wiseman. semple. Put One. Nineteen and ten before he was A. Re declared ineligible Yup. Could Lamelo in the Angelo play together? Bass. The question skill that really that's what it comes down to. It's not about Oh, man, he was good. He can do that Kenny play together because you gave up and you have this guy he on Amax Contract Dry d? Rosana mags contract Anthony towns. contract. So Somebody willing to move is somebody will wars the Melo over that? No more big deal with me. So buddy I I would I would move. But if I if I gotta stay there probably I probably would take. I'm taking him I. Don't know what it is about me and these bonkers.

Top Voice AI Stories in the First Half of 2020
"I. I asked each of the panelists today what they thought was the top story in the first half of twenty twenty invoice in everyone seemed to agree that covid nineteen was to be Let's start with you John There are many stories about voice in Corona. what stood out to you what's your experience Ben and how that's impacted the voice industry. Generally whether it be Europe or US or globally whatever your perspective is on that. That's interesting questions. At the beginning I think we covered it. In like end of February or like mid. March. I was a little concerned the odds because various like building for assistance like Alexa Google Assistant. is still very often seen as to some like innovation. And so what I thought is that companies now that they're not sure where market is going in these uncertain times that they budgets for this and that's this all of these developments, wiggins slowdown but it feels like at least when we're like when I'm talking to other industry professionals, it feels like that. There is love optimism One might related might be related to. People being at home more using Alexa more I. think Catholic early say more about this. The other is that more and more people now see the value of vices not being just like saving time for example, but then also being germ-free technology that you're like there was this one them all by. Pico. Voice thing queered they have like the voice enabled elevator of, for example, all of these different applications these. Are. Pretty exciting I mean we're still in the early days regarding this, but I definitely emcee that more and more companies are thinking about voice experiences the go beyond building. Games Alexa. For example, on that go beyond marketing Alexa skills, and think about k. what's what could the health benefits of filling filling voice and Tad's Free Interactions Look like A great point eight is thinking about that when. When you look at voice, you mentioned this idea is works experiment for a lot of businesses and it might have been coming out of their innovation budget and you see some sort of really big disruption that's hitting revenues profits, and therefore discretionary spending. We would see we would normally expect these type of special projects beside line but in fact, what we're seeing is a lot of there being accelerated. This. Very interesting to see an I thought some of that is definitely kind of a self fulfilling prophecy of the industry that you're like, Oh yeah. Alexa has been slowing down a bit at least it felt like this in the scale store Kayla look into other ways that we can build exciting experiences but it also feels like that more and more companies that haven't been in the industry in the voice in the treaty are also looking for like how to deploy was experiences now. Whether it be touch free or it just be for a really convenient way to interact. Catherine Yon just mentioned you. You're sort of background and focus on the consumer. It will bring you in here a when you think about the voice view the voice brew lands and Cova Nineteen. How do you come out on that? Yes. So there are a couple of things I. Love. I love to talk about I. You know there have been lots of reports that have indicated that there's been an uptick in voice assistant usage and that's great for the industry but I think what's even more interesting is that the data showing that people are trying more things more things they haven't done before with their voice assistance and I am definitely seeing this. You know through the Lens of voice brew the engagement with forcetruth emails has been up significantly through You know since the start of the pandemic and March and also the volume of subscriber emails that I get has exploded in recent months. So people are at home they're trying things they're running into issues and they want help solving them or they're just excited that something new work. Then they wanna tell me and they get in touch. So it's you know it's kind of anecdotal but you know I'm I'm definitely seeing more people trying more new things with their voice assistance and I think that's that's really exciting. That's really interesting to me that that you know it it doesn't surprise me that. Because people are all they're using their devices more, they're looking for more ways to do it. They've discovered voice brewed so that it's just another signal that your subscriber base has gone up Frankly because of you know it coincides with all these other things that are happening simultaneously. Yeah no that that's been great and it's also just with the existing Subscriber Base I. can see that you know people again people are at home. You know they're reading their reading their emails. They're just they're they're engaging more and I, think. Part, what's you know from my perspective also really great about this. Is that I am hopeful that this will persist beyond Kobe. So once you kind of open the can of worms of trying a lots of new things with Alexa or with Google assistant that people will now be open to continuing to do these things but trying more new things So. You know all good

How To Get On a Retinol Routine You Won't Want To Quit
"Dr Noisier. Welcome back to our show. So here's the thing you guys at p. and G. Through all the research that you're always doing uncovered a little secret that most women are trying retinal and then quitting it before they actually see results so tell us about that. What is happening? And what kind of statistics are you seeing on this topic? Yes yes yes just to start off with. I think retinol as you mentioned. It's one of those ingredients that pretty much. Everyone has heard of right. There are some other ones in skincare. Where it's like you know you feel more expert. Retinal did a survey with about six thousand women in America and over eighty percents said yes I know of. I'm aware I've heard on edge via it's huge and then over forty percents. Half of the people have the women who had hard of it had actually tried it at some point again. So that's that's Numbers you wouldn't see for many other in wiggins but now comes the interesting part half of these women use their retinal products for less than amongst less than a month in that month. Eight out of ten did not use it every day and now comes the loss number. If you go back to everyone who who tried it at some point be to of ten? Women kept using the retinal product after several months. Shoe out of ten. Which meant Wayne's eight out of ten stopped using so to recap. What were the main reasons that people were quitting their retinol routines? It's really two main reasons that jumped out the first one is irritation redskin burning sensation. We've all right. I've definitely gone overboard and some prescription stuff definitely even has a name retinoids reaction so yes. It's very common. So that's the number one reason another reason is and it's almost the opposite is women that are irrational product. And they don't get anything they don't irritation but they also don't results and they will have spent quite a bit of money on that product and so they just give up because like I don't even know what that yeah I the thing is I you know. I know that retinol is the most serious ingredient on the web. I know it's the number one ingredient recommended by dermatologists. So how much retinal is actually out there? So so leading up to allay bringing out. Its Final Twenty. Four collection we. We did do a big search in the three years. Previous to our introduction many other retinal products globally have long and it was over three hours. Just those three years and that was a good year ago so arena. It's even more on top of all the products that already existed so it is crazy thousands and thousands of new products and coming out of. Wow that's incredible. No wonder women are confused. Indeed Dr Noise or I'm going to be honest with you when I attended the Ole presentational for all twenty four I was really shook by a slide that you guys put up there. I mean. I've been abused journalist for over fifteen years now and when I saw that side I just immediately. I had to go up and take a picture I was like. I don't even know if this is allowed. And it was basically a comparison of all the leading retinol products was drugstore. Luxury derm brands all those cute instagram brands. So can you sort of explain if you can what that was all about? Absolutely I know exactly which Chart Gimme actually wanted showed as showed how much wretched no we found in these formulations. How much was in that? That was able in some cases. What's on the pack? We found in there and quite a few cases we found a lot less than what it said on the label because it had degraded by the time right. That was one data point. How much is actually in there? At the point of you know using it often Archer said and then the second data points. Yes how much of that gets actually into your skin versus sitting on the surface and if my memory serves you had ten brands all lined up. I believe there was one that lived up to its claim that was very expensive and then there was like a second one that halfway lived up to its claiming the rest. Were just kind of like no right yes there. Were quite a few disappointments in their. The interesting point. Was that none of these about actually delivered more active retinal into the skin than the Holy Reginald Twenty Four K. considerably shocked. My pearls were being clutch every other beauty editor in the room. Let me tell you. Did you feel trip and by all of these like stealth mode after noisier? Like how did you get your hands on these? We did because we wanted to be realistic right so if you are do are you go to store. You know you buy your home you use. That's exactly what we did secret shopper. Now and I feel like that just really gets to the core of what this is all about and what this episode really is all about so a lot of the reason that women quit their retinal and their routines is because they're buying these things and they think it's going to be a holy grail. But they're really buying almost like a false promise products that are not being able to perform and meet the promise of. What's on the label so now a lot of people are looking at percentages. Because you think oh if it's got two percent retinol that must be better but is there like I just feel like that's faulty logic to so. How do you decipher what's good and not good? And that's part of the problem. Too Right it. Is You know what they are. Probably some ingredients were having the percentage on their lot more sense for example some of the essence right in do want to know what is the acid levels. Is it something? Us Daily weekly whatnot right. There's a very lineal relationship between how much is in there and our activity aggressiveness for Reginaldo. It's a little bit different. A small amount of rational goes a very

Yeah of course you know tossing a fringe as well when Keep putting these right because it does simply bow down to that just because I'm not financially benefiting from a situation doesn't mean he's not my friend anymore. I've always the French. It was completely fake. And of course I wanted to win an annuity to do good number because fame to be able to do what he done. That tops fifty percent in the I knew it was gonna be. What are they now? He's going to be as dominant as that news going to dominate and get good win. We'll come on to that because I know you toss fury fantasy. We'll come into the fight. Second offer the show for those of you watching and listening. We don't often hear about the side of the train is experienced. When there's a split with the fights over they retire or whether you part ways Tyson. Speaking stay co about the void that was left when Belgium hung them up last year. And how that's been a big adjustment period for him over the last twelve months for you. Obviously we've talked for years and years and years but journey was so intense and so hands on and so committed from both of your sides that when that comes through in our magin takes a bit of adjusting for us. Well Yeah of course. She knows it was a twenty four seven job literally twenty four seven three hundred sixty five days a year so it took up a Omar. Tom The last couple of years and I was walking again. We believe in being contacted about the judge situation as well and it was. Actually that wasn't nice to part ways we talked and it was nice to have a little bit of towns myself over the Christmas period as well because for the last three years. Christmas is both days all of that of always been away so it was Nice Avenue bad time to myself as well call you know yourself. You're in a similar situation to Josh where he left the train. But you're the peak of your career. So uconn yeah. We see prospects changing coaches nearly stages of their careers trying to work out. What's best for them? But at this stage of your career when you're changing trainers there's very low margin for error because you're essentially going into big fight off the big fight. There's no easy ones from from this point and the stakes. Obviously a high they she if you particularly and I know you had the same when you left and found. Jamie more you have to fit that has to be has to be someone that you work well with and you agree with their methods and their approach to Faden and the approach they take to fight and training camps and everything else and even just as well so I had a few trainers in mind when I when I joined Jimmy Mira when I left the mcguigan. Sorry Jimmy was the first one that I want on. It just felt a real quick and someone. I didn't do the Josh John Was. He went to show morale's I really. I felt like a fitted in well not jim elect. Jimmy was saying and that was enough for me maybe another two or three guys and manned and everything's a lot of contacting a member of the thing that just just well Jimmy. You obviously need that time to Joe did you. Fought for the Horatio Garcia. I'll say the thing short camp and the approach gender did for a faith and I had six weeks and it wasn't like wasn't forced and the woman felt like the right decision for me to make but it was fast approaching my return defect and again. I knew I needed a coach as well so it was kind of half blood that he was the first guy. Because maybe if I'd have went with someone else with a short space of time I made a one of them because I was getting close. The approaching afraid of in my head. Peter has one solace was one because he was given. Hey and autumn booth was in my head as well as a potential trainer but gave me was the first one to. I'm glad that by the time he then had to build towards the thought. You need that nine months together to Joe was a pairing the two big Of You guys will have the same thing when you come to. Maybe that fight with Ramirez. If he's later this year were next year so in it in a sense. Who's this happened? On some of that you've been mandated for these fights. The ones that you want to have as your first one together. Because you don't really ben one walk into a fight with Joseph Ramirez after you know working with someone for for fourteen sixteen weeks yet your son degree but I feel like she's a similar character to us. Latino Arkansas of quickly understand what type of person he is emotionally how he's mentally and you can see in the build up to previous fought speak fuzzy's had how approaches those flights in that mine and stylistically. I understanding on the standard shrimps on the season. He's the level of far to where you can make adjustments. And of course you can improve them. I do believe even without those adjustments. He's good enough to beat Ramirez in my opinion. Okay but I mean the criticism that you had when you first came on the scene was always baseness your age and your relative inexperience coach and obviously ninety nine percent of thousands. Of course after that I say while to fight for you was the way the Ben led the corner that night and the call. Mri showed on the the highest lakes possible. Was that one of the things that made you think he could guide meter in these big before. It was so a clips trained Tyson. An over the belly. Joe's will stay there. Were walking on the combinations of movement head movement and the speed and the feet were really similar that we can boxing can train. You know. So he's going to move up. Can I WANNA go with an officer? The Way Komo boat and then you hear his vase in the corner breaks the FE and just this knowledge of this book is broken these on the twenty seven. Yeah SMARTS WAY I. How actually apologized when he billy Joel was an was fighting. Someone in eastern. And you're in the corner and it was the first real appearance from you. Remember thinking it was a bad reform from billy Joel but remember thinking urgency in the corner but enhance sake. We nine Billie Joe wasn't fed and there was no word because every fucking if you'd have been too on top on the corner of Blue Gosden. Yeah you may have lost a fake. I have apologize for for what would be joe quite a few years before that and new obviously spend that training camp with him along with Jimmy Tibbs couple of weeks before five ways we Jimmy and I knew what was in the tank and I knew that we had to efficient in getting around management was very in Poland. Now what might be Joe take some out take and I know what doesn't so I knew when to push him on because the bill judge J fogg told him you'll stay around he was gonNA thank you ever to win the next round. We couldn't afford to do that. She was just about around. I think people always associate age of experience but I was lucky enough to spend time around people Jimmy Tubes and very knowledgeable guys which I gained a hell of a lot from a non round management. They something picks up from Jimmy tibbs unquote. That's the best about will the faces a new face on the managing high profile fights is that had it been Jimmy Tibbs in the corner. People would've assumed they obviously there's something going on with because it's you the first people reach for is does this guy know is doing and they look at your age and then say that's the about faces of training. I would like to think the performances in the corner over the last couple of years of giving people realize the what you're about the same as forty one performance and people jump on until fully. Understand that it's the same for everybody and anybody in high high profile situation. There's going to be downstairs. This'll your options for this year. And so this apponaug on some who's been mandated by the whole hangs told me there's there's no much online a couple of eight and it's only a few Ranjha so it does vary toll but it looks like he punched his heart but very wailed in so it raw keith. My on the ball. Nothing I don't think I can handle and I'm sure we'll get him and it's GonNa be if Shedu lineup is going to potentially a week or two before Pasta and Ramirez do you think about what's Outgo. Yeah it'd be for going and build for Boeing and I am to life and then pick up tips and hopefully put myself a fight after the end result and get myself a fight for their unification of the belts. It's good to be there as well as trying to make and just to be present. Boca players and people started talking about the more that Josh and say. I don't even know manufacturer with Sixteen Sixteen years. He's been completely undisputed author. Maybe a teen fakes. Yeah on real. It will take a little bit affirm- playing out. Because they're oversee mandate she's on both sides. Wbz will be cool next the winner of Possum Ramirez the WBO. I think we'll be called. Tau Closest amount in your Camp Castro. Do feel like he's been mandatory since time began and he's been waiting very patiently for quite recently sunny front war and said in an interview that John Wooden necessarily step aside. Fay So would mean that. Potentially you'd have to face. He would have faced winner. Puzzle Ramirez Wbai Mandatory. Which could be Whitson? If you Kinda plan this out and you're listening to oversee. Ideally I'd WanNa go forth Ramirez fake and obviously Kado take a step back and make the shot for all the marbles but please you know Jack Jack. Idaho's wait that long thing for today's short has been mandatory for a good while. No so is Joe. Short so happens I then so be it. They don't have to Ma other mandatory against a written or someone you know so I'm about what we goes day. I'm confident in every single.

Biggest losers from 2020 NBA trade deadline
"Go through the losers of the trade deadline but not really get into the transactions. And who did poorly knows going to go a little bigger picture check car trade deadline's grades. PODCAST trade deadline grades podcast for all the losers etc okay. Bigger picture second runner up from the trade deadline. Losers people people living in the eastern time zone why well the warriors they always planned that late game this season on the west coast but this year here. No one has had to watch him. We get to go to sleep. It's great now. They make the move for Wiggins plus curry and Thompson coming back and US on the east coast after. Stay up and watch them next season. I know you international folks are saying way manage a crap about you gotta be up till eleven twelve one. We gotta be up at five in the morning okay. You're right but this is my the situation. This is my life. It's GONNA stick next year. I haven't a watch getting wigan with every single night if he's in that time slot and I imagine they're going to get national. TV after national TV game right with curry and Klay back. That's going to be weird actually to see wiggins in sort of national TV Games. Because you don't see it a lot with the wolves over his that I hadn't really thought about that and people still hate him. I don't know if that's going to be good or bad for it will be a spewing. I'm sure next season as I think it was. Michael said Scrub those wiggins takes scrub them out of your tweets. Because maybe it'll turn it around. We'll see first runner up very tall boys and young men because the center position in the NBA. Just doesn't in pay like it used to. I won't say it's extinct because saw tall players will still be desired in the NBA. So tall boys can still make it there. But only the cream of the crop are going to get paid like high paid wings or guards for the foreseeable future. Like Yokich or a or Anthony Davis for towns the rest. They'll have jobs it just. It is desirable as it was a few years ago. So young tall. He's can go back to modeling or being cameraman and scrums important position. But do you WanNa play in the NBA anymore. Just not as great as desirable desirable. I would say if the tall buys don't want to play basketball. I suggest stick to tiddlywinks and playstation. But I'm going to give the worst of the week to the Pistons Ha. I wasn't GonNa get transactional but they couldn't get a first round pick for Andre Drummond one second round pick in two you guys who can't even play significant minutes for the cavs as what they got back we got into it on the spot but if the market was that dry why deal. I'm now dealer months ago when he was absolutely balling there's literally conversations about him being the best center in the NBA. Along with those guys. I mentioned Yokich Coca Chamba. I know it sounds crazy. But he was when he was doing. Twenty Twenty S. He was in that conversation anyways he was at the table he wasn't we wasn't one of the big but why not Dealing with it or wait till June. They got nothing. They literally got nothing. I don't see why you rush it when you when you look at it now in hindsight insight because you because you didn't want two more months of bad chemistry in the locker room well it's already bad. I mean bad culture why not have two more months and potentially get a first round pick. That's all we're asking for. I think that's nuts. It's really that's when you look at it. It is well. We couldn't believe it the bag. The beans came back for Andre Drummond. It's shocking yeah you would think a guy that is a two time all star again. That is an elite rebounder who is seventeen and and what type of guy who's pretty consistent. He plays a lot You can't even get a first round pick in today's NBA. That's tough. Yeah but they picked their direction they did the piss definitely picked a direction and said we are we are rebuilding. There is no. We don't even want to be worried about whether or not he picks up that adoption and then under contract for one more year which. I don't think he's going to do anyway still but they didn't want that concerns but then train them in June or somebody else is also going to give via a bag of beans summer. means it is crazy because we've been watching basketball for a long time and when you say those numbers like he's literally averaging eighteen sixty got it is good but anyway some big old numbers and I mean. There's a reason Andre Drummond was the first name really on the trade block. It was him and Kevin Love and know what he's given up a first round. Pick gauge it right. Like they're just like they're like. Hey Man Andre Drummond people might want it for a first round. Pick in everybody in the league was like actually no So there's got to be a tough one for him so now they're playing together. Those guys you mentioned you're on the trade boil hall my goodness yeah. Yeah what literally. What is their lineup? GonNa be. They gotta buy out Tristan Thompson. Or what they're gonNA play. Kevin love at the three clients. Don't get bought out apparent. They never give up money. That's for sure they are the opposite of the rockets. Now we've got the giant cavs at least the giant cavs. That's right I I like it because we always got those seven o'clock starts. The cavs are generally involved in one of those games. The Piston used to be and still be. But you know what I mean. They'll be watching and I'll be tuning in for the first six minutes of those Casper's there's man who loves a rebound highlight every cavs game. I can't wait I he'll be going crazy all by yourself. Isn't it it all these islands would be like. What the in the cavs game? You're like. Yeah there was like sixteen rebounds in the first quarter. You know who'll be watching John Shoe Schumer. I respect that all right so those are the worst of the

Warriors trade D'Angelo Russell to Wolves for Andrew Wiggins
"And twenty the warriors finish off the trade deadline yesterday with a trade of de Angelo Russell to the Minnesota Timberwolves in return the warriors get former number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins as well as a pair of draft picks a fourth rounder and a second rounder from twenty twenty one top three protected for that first rounder from Minnesota courtesy going to rule

Warriors deal Russell to Wolves, get back Wiggins
"For people that missed it. The warriors and Timber Wolves agreed on trade us in the Ngelo Russell Jacob Evans in Amari spelman to Minnesota for Andrew Wiggins a a top three protected twenty twenty one first round pick and a twenty twenty two second round pick. I like to steal from Minnesota. I think Karl Anthony towns and de Ngelo. They're obviously good friends. And that's big because towns it's been very frustrated recently but again let's get back to what the warriors got back in return. I'm not a big Fan. I'm not a fan of that that contract but I guess when you're the warriors they're already a situation where a lot of their guys are locked up so I understand that for them. It doesn't matter as much for another team they just Trying to add a guy that can help them on both ends of the floor and the contract isn't as big of a deal for them. But I just think with twenty-three-year-old all-star which is what Russell was he. He was an all star last year. I just don't think that's enough to get back in return. I do like that. They got the draft pick again. Talk Re protected. Twenty twenty. One should be a much better draft twenty twenty based on what the experts are all saying so in top. You're protected. I mean this Minnesota team made it could finish between four and ten could end up being lottery picked so I do think that is very valuable. That's my favorite part of the acquisition here for the warriors I just feel like with wiggins. He's been so disappointing. Maybe maybe they feel like they can help him reach us well potential. We know they've done a very good job of developing guys. They have great leader as a strong culture which may really help someone like wiggins. This could be totally wrong around here. I will admit that maybe wiggins goes there and this is exactly what he needed to reach us and become a better player in guys like Steph and clay and dream on push push him. I just feel like how did they wait until the offseason because they couldn't afford to be patient here. There really wasn't a sense of urgency. I would like to see if there were different offers or different teams that kind of came to the table. I just don't think this is the kind of package that you pounce on when you have a great trade ship and again twenty-three-year-old all-star and no roe pressure to make a move now so but I it is newsday what you're saying. Though had Russell and curry not work together you think that Russell's trade value could have diminished. So I see what you're saying. I'm just not a big Fan. I think that's my problem here. Yeah and I think for Minnesota standpoint It's a very interesting gamble. Because of course they want him as a free agent right and it's always nice to be able to sign a young player like that. If you get the right opportunity comes along but they miss out. It's so let's remember that to make this deal happen. They basically had to ship out Jeff Teague for basically nothing it trade Covington to get some assets assets kinda like sweet things up and they have to wind up trading wiggins out. It's actually make this deal happen with golden state so I don't WANNA say Minnesota gutted their assets but they actually you. You know invest in quite a bit to get Russell. Now the upside to doing that is you're gonNA have a very exciting offensive oriented team where you've got your best players are both all three point shooters with Karl Anthony towns and Diangelo Russel and they should fit together. Great in pick and roll it could pop situations right so for a fan base. That's been through a lot here. Typical era the Jimmy Butler you know You know being upset a few years ago in the long losing streak this year. I think there are some genuine hope and optimism with that pairing between those two guys. But I think my concern is that they really have stripped out a lot of their other proven talent around them and I think that both those guys are just minus defenders and that part it makes me nervous right. Because you know if you're trying to picture these guys is like this inside outside duo right well you want at least one of them to be a plus defender. And I don't think that's it's ever GonNa Happen for either one of those guys and so now it creates some roster challenges where you have to go out and target some other perimeter defenders guys who can help cover up for Russell in towns so that you can at at least be you know average on the defensive end. If you WANNA be a winning team so I guess long story short I think they invested an awful lot of assets. Just make this Russell thing happened and I'm not totally extolled. That he's the right guy to pair with towns but big picture. They did the most important thing which is keep Karl Anthony towns happy. He's their franchise guy he's been disgruntled. You you know for for months now because of all this losing and so I think they do get a short term went out of that.
