"Now We're gonna get kicked out of here and Dodgers go up with this from the 15th inning Dodgers go up in this sort of turns her. It comes out of the dugout and points at my buddy, and he wasn't like, Get rid of that guy. He's like, Yeah, I got that. We're getting out of here. You know, he starts talking like That's how we do it like that. And then, of course, the Giants came back with four on the mat Williams hit to left and and win the game in the bottom of the 16th and my buddy gave this guy gave the sort of just such a You know it was clean, but it was just such a ridiculous diatribe between a fan and Lasorda and instead of being mad or anything, the sort of news part of the show he came out. He took off his cap, he bowed. He smiled. He waved. He blew kisses. It was you know, he was He knew his role in the game, and he was a great manager. A great ambassador for the game. Well, it just it was his I think part of the reason people didn't like him where they eat. He irritated him His unabashed love for the Dodgers. I mean, just threw it in your Dodger blue from the big Dodger in the sky to Dodger Blue to die Do this to you Wish you were us And you wish you were me. And you just You're not mad at me. You're mad at you for not being may I mean all sort of things. Was just the best. It was the absolute best because it gave you a reason. What give you reason. I mean, it's not like you need a reason to dislike the Dodgers. I mean, they're they're big market team, and it's easy to dislike the Dodgers and the Yankees and teams like that. But boy when they were good You had a mander the late you know it, and he was not afraid of that whatsoever it So it was just It was just his unabashed love for for the Dodgers and wearing that uniform and being in the Dodgers organization and disliking the Giants, and it was it was so much fun, and we just We just don't have that. Anymore. I mean, we That's the one thing. We talk about the new wave of managers, and it's not going back, and it hasn't been this way for quite some time. Man, you go back and look at and Tommy Lasorda and Sparky Anderson and Whitey Herzog and Billy Martin and Earl Weaver and Loop in L. A. I mean, it was just a different game in a different breed of managers that had personality and major pay attention to what they were doing. Now. I mean, they're all kind of the same. It seems like it's it's not a huge deal. No one cares, and a lot of it is probably you don't get a chance to go out there and argue anyway. But even if you did All these guys are cookie cutter. Uh, what was the question known manager in the game right now, Like like, everybody knew when the sort of got run you'd hear the sword from like 150, different people just in your area. Those sword I was sort of Nobody knows I'll get out of here. Hinch. No, Nobody's doing that these days. Who is the best? I mean, without looking? Who is the best? No manager right now. Francona would see E would seem or Joe Maddon means, you know, thinking, Madden Maybe you should cash after that world serious blunder. Here's Yeah. Zero for the wrong reasons. Here's something that would be interesting. Do you think I don't know if I could do it if somebody said I'm gonna put all the names of the team's down in front of you Put the manager next to him. I'm not sure I can call the managers now know all of them in public. I think I think I would. I think I think there might be a few. I mean, more than a few things. I'd be embarrassed. Like, Oh, my. Do you think you would get more than half I could get it. It's true somatic Who's Who's the manager of the Pirates? Yeah, That's what I thought. No cherry picking here at Panama on Lino, the manager of the Marlins, because it's you know, it's it's obvious is Mattingly and he's been doing this strangely enough for a long time. Considering how good of a manager he seems to not be, but he's still got a job, so Kudos to him. We'll get the ones that would like in the playoffs last year, but others. Yeah, Who's there? Who's the manager of the Rangers? I have no clue. Janice wasn't sure. This year it could have been. I know he wasn't some point recently. He was last year channels good, whose manager of the Royals? In the still Ned Yost. Yeah, 20 years on. Hey, man, It's just like when we do the draft and you start to get into third Street left tackles, you know for for, you know, Conference USA teams, You could be making the names up and I'm just like, Yeah, man, whatever I roll with you, because I know it's funny the way the front office wants it. Exactly. The front office is like, Yeah, we've done our job. No one knows the manager's anymore. Perfect. Way to go guys High five. Let's go have a beer. So you're right. Start looking around. I'm thinking Iraqis and over Rockies but black Okay? Dave Roberts, who We all know, Robert. Yeah. Jannik Dangler, My favorite manager. Name energy of the Padres. All right, I got those four cause well, I pay attention to all of those teams for the diamonds and understandable picking picture him..

The thirtieth of November Ese Auburn Alabama and a big one the SEC championship will be a big one. I don't anticipate LSU losing before the Chevy chip they could lose Georgia Georgia's actually in the best position for losing going to the worst teams to one of the worst or teams of all of the teams the one loss teams of loss to unless teams names of lost. Yeah Yeah I got all right UTAH. Probably the least impressive with one loss teams Baylor obviously the least impressive restive of the unbeatens Baylor Minnesota. How easy or difficult would it be to sell tickets for that one? I don't know the baseball news. We had rookies of the year on Monday. Congratulations to Houston's Alvarez to the mets Pete beat Alonzo. It was an overwhelming favorite in the national league with Alonzo Hidden Fifty three bombs philosopher. Antibody little a rookie then Alvarez. I was just kind of the the best of what was there in the American league shalt and while Delhi Win Manager of the year honors and they said the ball Delhi is the fourth manager to win it and the only other three twins managers that I could name Tom. Kelly Ron Gardenhire and Paul molitor there. The the other three twins managers to win the award so really not a pulse out of Minnesota Baseball for fire to one thousand nine hundred. Eighty one at least as far as manager of the year war goes to Taylor's cartilage managers. That have won it before show would be the two that I can think of. I know Mike metheny. That's that's not really fair for me to say but Tony Larussa was the cardinals manager for a very long time. And I'm sure that there were some guys between Whitey Herzog and but why are you. Here's the other way. Here's Agan Tony. Larussa the other cardinal enters to win a prior to show. This stayed up with us here on overnight America by the way you narrow saw.

"I. Zones. Laura Brannigan Laurie which. The theme song for the Saint Louis blues. Stanley Cup championship drive. Words never thought I'd say into a microphone words, Jon Hamm never whatever crosses mind but he's joining us right now. Jason show. Oh, your job, or never don't believe. Fun fact. Yes. Gloria came out in nineteen eighty two. The same year. The cardinals won the World Series that being world's are. Colliding rich did Laura Brannigan and Whitey Herzog ever have like a y'all to like summit, John? You think they have clear Darrell porter was there, there was this whole situation? Willie. Mickey moderators. You know what man, it's amazing? How things work out in the world. What are you feeling right now? Let's go what's coursing through your veins, Jon Hamm? Well, I was I was unfortunately I mean look, I, I you know, life intervenes in all of these wonderful sporting times have as well. But I so I had to I had to be I was literally onset that was shooting. And thank God I was shooting in Canada, where every Canadian person in the world was like maybe take a minute. I'm gonna need one. And so I was shooting commercial up here for for a company called skip the dishes and, and free plug. And as and I, I watched it, and I was just like my mouth is on the floor. I just couldn't get over it. And you know, I obviously held up hope and I knew that these guys throughout the throughout the entire finals, not just the finals threat. The playoffs have been so resilient and coming back after losses were just nuts. So I, I had hope. And then I, you know, when I watched the first twenty minutes, I thought, oh, we're done. There's no way I thought, John, I thought the same thing to the blues looked slower. They looked like they were nothing was crisp at all. And the Bruins were just dominating. But men Bennington was he got you through that first period and bidding ten was like out of men in black. I mean also free plug. He was like he had to extra arms. He had like legs that had like go go gadget extensions and he kept us in the game, which he's done for the last, you know, six months of the year, and he just was on another level. And you know what happened was, I think I'm not gonna speak for the Boston crowd. But I think the same thing happened to Boston that happened to us in, in games three and six the emotion got a little over. You know on over the top of those guys and like you do they kinda I think they kind of gas out. And when, when we scored that first goal in the second goal in the first period. I think that that was just like a, you know, just a. You know, just blew it just blew him up. And they, they had nothing left and it was a long series. It's a long play offs. And I just couldn't get over the fact that they came, they came. And they and they, they closed out in the way they could. Yeah. Man. I mean like again that first period one shot on goal twenty seven seconds in and then about fifteen minutes later another shot on goal. And then the third one lights, the lamp with eight seconds to go in the period. Another lit lamp. And I just was sitting there on like hockey, is what a fickle beast.

I've pre she ate the airtime. I'm trying to get this little business up the ground. I had a few hotcakes. Okay. Maybe that's on take. I got the dodgers winning the World Series. And I got Walker Beaulieu winning National League Cy Young award. Okay. Also, Dan, I got a question for you. Did you try that you're Icke? Mario did in Morio is Mario doing okay today. Still alive? Okay. All right. Yeah. But thank you, paulie for sending in your beef, jerky Pauly's beef jerky, and I made more you eat it. And then we thought of. Nothing happened. And we might have some. Rusty in California joins us. Hi, rusty. The morning guys. I'm doing good. What do you have for? You know, I would love to see a game. Major league baseball game play this year. Sanctioned game. Maybe a lesser good. That two strikes you're out and three balls and walk. I think I think it'd be a a neat thing to see. I think the poorest heads would explode or might be fun to see I would like to see that in spring training. Thank you rusty. But I I would like to just I would like to see how it feels. I would like to know what the players think if you you get up there. You know, swing the bat. I'm gonna throw it. I gotta throw strikes. I want you to swing the bat. We need a little bit more action. Plus in today's baseball. You don't have a sacrifice bunt. You don't move the ball. You know, move the runner over by hitting it to the other side of the infield. At least you got movement years ago. Now, it's I'm gonna throw it hard. And you're gonna swing really hard. And it just feels like there's even less movement than there used to be. Now, you do have some pretty high highs with all the home runs, and you've got guys where you get to see the radar gun that they're throwing ninety nine. Not that ninety nine looks different than ninety four folks. Unless you're standing at the plate, it doesn't look different. So you we get caught up in. Let's show the radar gun. And then we all my God. He's throwing ninety nine. But it doesn't look any different than ninety four the home runs. They made these ballparks Homer friendly, you know, very few. I I did it interview with George Brett that was on undeniable audience last night, he talked about Kansas City Royals had the biggest ballpark in baseball. But they use that to their advantage. They add speed. They ran all the time. They took the extra-base and they had a good pitching staff. They weren't offensive minded show the Saint Louis cardinals when Whitey Herzog manage them. They were based on speed and good pitching. And they had a bigger ballpark there. You don't have that anymore. I mean, it's rare we go back to you know, Cleveland Indians. I think at center field that was four hundred fifty four feet from. Home plate. Four fifty four. I mean, you got I mean that you'd get laughed at now if you said, hey, we're member didn't say the Mets brought in their fences. Like, we don't have anybody can hit it out. We're going to bring our fences in by ten feet. Yep. They should let the Mets bring them in when they're batting bring them back out and the other team batting and see if that helps things out just have movable fences. Yeah. Just goes out. How about you just have the fence? That's moving the entire time during the game. I'll watch that. Okay. Basis are moving a little bit. I'll tell you. What was really interesting? Remember when the Astros put that little bump in center..

"That's how I remember thirty four there. All right. People are gonna say oh. I didn't see Rollie fingers pips. I only remember that from my dad's baseball cards that he gave me when I was very very young. My dad were all the seventies tops all the seventies tops cards. And I remember Raleigh the as in later on with Padres. Could you tell me could you name? This is a good one. Could you name? At least four retired numbered guys with the Saint Louis cardinals. Stan musial. At nine right Ozzie Smith Ozzie Smith. I'm going way back in my brain. That's one of the greatest names in baseball history. Come on. I wonder I wonder I wonder what Yati Yati is going to be like when he retires and that and that ceremony because he's one of the best one of the best catches I've ever seen in my life. I wonder what his legacy is going to be when he leaves the game because he so impactful as what's his legacy going to be. Yeah. I mean, he's brilliant more stolen bases in the he might be. Is this heartache, but he might be the last one hundred fifty plus game catcher. Interesting. I mean, you you talk about having the the bat you're like the backup quarterback. Never does anything. Right. Yeah. Always as the had the visor and a clipboard, whatever it does matter. That's the backup catcher for the cardinals. Unless he gets squared up in the in the NATs in one of them has to have surgically remove last year. Then you're playing I'm just saying like Yati plays every game. If you're the backup catcher, you have the easiest job the best ability for the cardinal's inability analytics to there's no way you're going to have like your best player. Just beer catcher. Right, right. Going to be a platoon situation phrase dead on with that that's not even take it's going to happen. Okay. So you have number one east miss damn usuals number six number two. Red. Showing diced, okay? Number nine number six already number nine slaughter. Yeah. I remember that works in Ken Boyer. Number seventeen. Does he d d? Teams number twenty. Lou brock. Lou brock. Twenty four Whitey Herzog forty two not just Jackie Robinson. But Bruce suitor. Forty five. And then you have eighty five for former owner gussie Busch. Anyway, that's good. Three four veiled. There is available and that's huge. And if you don't know about Bryce Harper, it's part of the infatuation with Mickey Mantle three plus four is seven. That's how you get thirty four. Can also see him do forty-three too. Right. It's it's about mantle. That's why he wears it actually started out chapter. Maybe so. Three has anyone brought that up to me? I could see eighty four to eighty four. Eighty four. That's that's twelve. It helps out with the the imaging for the b and h b stay woke. You're you're. I'm blow. Randy's. I love about that. I was so into the swag stuff stuff. We all get you're trying to find a number for. Let's see that before honest to God never thought about making a logo for myself. I would just like I would sit there and make logos. For everyone on the team. You never made a nineteen logo because nineteen nineteen for life. But that's like different. I'm talking about you. But for me. Yeah. You know, you never even tried to doodle it out or skill. The only thing I have for logo on that is the tattoo. I have on my back from my brother. It's nineteen with DJ on it. Okay. So a off the one and a it off the nine is a J. Okay. Sick. Uh-huh. Be my logo my brothers. Yeah. But even KF, I honestly I'm telling you right now would never have never once thought about the best logo. You drew? Man. Has your logo been used? No, nobody uses it. No. The ones that they get our wake. I feel like a marketer doesn't like marketer coming up to you. Like, hey, it's about time each logo or do. They actually pursue that themselves. Always thought about that. Route she came up to.

"If your insurance costs, leg and arm, call James Carlton state farm, and you wind up covering some pretty good baseball teams. Well, I mean the widey ball era come on. I mean, you know for four foil for a for a lifelong cardinal fan. I didn't think it could get any better than going to Busch stadium and reporting on the cardinals. And then you know, now, I get here in seventy nine and the cardinals. Very good. I mean, they've been in a drought since what's next. Ask let you. And I covered Whitey Herzog first conference out at grants form news conference when he was hired. And of course, no at the time. Nobody knew what that was going to mean. And then why moved into the front office. And I mean, there was a short period of time within why did he was just like it was deal after deal after deal after deal, and he remade the team and he traits Garry Templeton brings hoc- Smith and. You know? I mean, it's a cliche, but the rest is history. I mean that the eighties. I mean, what an incredible decade. That's why they want an exciting brands as LOL I always say, I would watch the first base pit because that's where it was a pit of dirt on the turf if Coleman McGee Ozzie even Tommy her, you know, they would steal vases. And I absolutely loved that style of baseball. Plus, and maybe I'm wrong you had to cover them. I know that covering the cardinals new to thousands wasn't the easiest task. Although there were some using character. It seemed like it was a fun group of guys. What was it like to cover those guys? Well. It depended on the guy. Usually workers. Mark. If it was silent George Henry that was a really short interview. Which means with another way of saying that he would politely declined. Does. He wasn't doing interviews. But I told why years later said he I said, why do you made me a better reporter because I saw him dress reporters up and down. If they ask a question. He thought was stupid and inappropriate. And I said I didn't want to be that guy. But Eighty-three the year after the cardinals win the World Series, right wide. He's a God. And so I went to my news director j rand office. We should do a profile of Whitey hers on he's the most popular guy in town. Right. And so my idea was to convince him to put a wireless microphone on during a game. No one nineteen Eighty-three local sports wasn't putting wireless migrants on major League Managers. I mean now it's commonplace on network broadcasts. Everybody's Mike up. Then that was a pretty radical idea. So it's a Jay who was doing the cardinal broadcast on Cassie coun- Cassidy K, you know, he convinced Whitey to do. And so we get there and we're in wide use office before the game. And we're hooking him up with the wireless, and he's going. I don't know why you guys are putting a microphone I never say thing during the game anyway, and I'm looking at him, and I'm like, man, I hope he's Bs and otherwise, this ain't gonna be much story..

"Jersey Joe on the radio with us on AM nights. Seventy the answer. Yeah. About the Yankee game yesterday, and it tough to watch the X lose that station was a station. Look at me. Yeah. Radio everything the stadium was pumped, man. Everybody was pumped up. They were positive looked like they they almost pulled it out Albert at the end. Better team. I mean think about one hundred games you still don't win the division. And you have to you have to get in on the wildcard and listened. The Red Sox are simply a better team. It must be nice though, as a Yankees fan to have a group of owners that is willing to spend money, cultivate, talent make the trades necessary to get to the next level while Franken I root for a team that Myers mediocrity at best has an ownership that all they care about is making money and don't care about winning championships. They get caught in a Ponzi scheme with Bernie Madoff. They're still paying Bobby Baena. He retired twenty years ago. I mean, you know, this is the trials and tribulations of being a Mets fan. It would be nice to have at least one or two of those things that the Yankees have. But look kudos to the Yankees. The mission statement every year is to win a championship. They don't wanna championship they consider their series of their season of failure. And if they had Girardi I. Still baffles me. Well, you know, what it is? It's a lot of teams now are no longer managing based on what they see on the field and gut instincts. It's all these sabermetrics Sion's who are looking at numbers and all kinds of nonsense attack. Russ talks about all the time. The exit velocity of a ball. Who cares? He hit it out. Cares. I mean, this is the ridiculousness. There's no you don't see an old school manager anymore. A dusty Baker Whitey Herzog. You don't see God. You know, what my instinct is doing something gotta go by the book. That's the problem that we're seeing. So did you see the picture of me? And Bucky dent the. Yes. The first pick. When he came out and it was Boston. Yeah. We all remember Bucky dead, you know, Bucky blatant. Then I it was it was great to see what a nice guy did Mickey rivers. Mickey Mickey when I tell you this, and I'm telling you a seven forty two Joe on the radio Mickey rivers and correct me if I'm wrong twenty seven children twenty seven wow, twenty seven. So he said, the only guys got more kids than I do, you know, the quick, and let me tell you something. But he remembers the birthdays he's him dad. Great daddy's always running somewhere. I gotta go down down Elena we going. Well, those birthday. Yeah. Yeah. And he does holiday party. Yeah. I met his son Mickey rivers Jimmy higher. And I asked him how many siblings he had? He says more than I can even count. I have. No, I actually had no idea. He said he had no idea. I mean, he is. He will always be forever known as Bucky dent that one hit against Boston tremendous. I mean, the guy had a DC treated me from brothers. That's the guy that put the dagger in our heart. Don't forget. But he was the World Series MVP wasn't. He wasn't. He was the series MVP. Okay. Got it got it. I got like that. Hey, it's Piscopo in the morning. It is seven forty three on AM nights. Seventy the answer with the knuckleheads just a bunch of knuckleheads in the radio studio. Thank goodness for Debbie. Do hayme Jedidiah Bela is a longtime television personality and a great gal talented has a great new book called do. Not disturb ghosted myself phone to take back by life. Hey jedidiah. Welcome to the show. How you doing this morning? How you doing? I'm doing great crazy book launch week. So, you know. So you're you're all over the place. Right. I am. I am with your DNA today. We're doing some fun stuff and Sirius XM. Yeah. Thanks for. I. Round of applause. Hey, guys. This is that we appreciate that. Thank you. In book signing tomorrow night on the upper east side at Barnes and noble. I hear. Yep. Look dining Thursday night. Yep. Tomorrow night. I forget what they were in October eleventh whatever day that is I get that Barnes and noble on the upper east side on eighty six and it's going to be a Q and A and a discussion of people have questions for me. They can come on down politics. Whatever you wanna talk about. We'll talk about it there. Do not disturb is the name of the book tells about the book dire. So I had an addiction to technology. And I was watching what was happening in the social media world. How people were kind of losing their minds on Twitter on Facebook. How they were not bringing not being the best people that they could be and how they were constantly plugged in. I was so stressed out. All the time. I wasn't sleeping right? I was one of those people that would get up in the middle of the night and on your bathroom break with check the phone one hundred times, and I realized that it was cutting into my relationships. It was I watched what it was doing to dating life out there where young people were more. They looked like they were. On dates with their phones instead of dates with the people that they were out in force to be spending time with so I decided I wanted to look into a why we were at directed to these these devices what was happening, and what were the consequences for our health. Try wellbeing. And what I found is that a lot of these apps and a lot of youth devices are programmed to get you addicted. They studied behavioral science behavioral psychology. Yeah. And they figure out. Okay. How many times do I need to put XYZ into a game to create this this compulsion? Luke, this reaction in people and almost everybody responds the same way. So once they had this recipe, they could program everything in a way that would that would turn us all into puppets. Now, anybody who knows me knows. I'm the personal responsibility. Girl. I'm know you own your own wife. So my decision was you know, what I'm going to write a book that what people know, even though this stuff is designed to make you crazy. You don't have to go crazy. There's some stuff you can do to kind of look at what it's doing. You know, if you're worried about your kids at holidays family gathering buried in their phone if you're worried about yourself and like hey my workday. Never ends. My boss can can Email me till morning. Yeah. You know, I've got this phone. I feel compelled to look out or your kids are, you know, losing their minds or they're losing important skill stats like when we were younger you had to have those conversations and you're outta lesson. Face to face, you had to learn how to navigate those things. Not anymore. No. What did he do? How do you get over this obsessive compulsive disorder? Would. I know obsessive compulsive tech disorder. I loved that from nothing. You have to take steps in the beginning small steps, you can't do it all at once. Like, for example. I took my phone out of the bedroom. And I charge it in the living room and a docking station that made a huge difference. Because now when I answer that bedroom, you know, and I'm gonna read a little bit before sleep or read a book or I'm gonna watch a little TV. I'm unplugged the not answering emails and not answering tech. If I get up in the middle of the night nowhere in sight studies show that even if you're not on the phone, even if you're not using it, and it's not lit up. If you have that phone by you, you're anxious because you're compelled now to psychologically wanna look at it. So your your restless, even if you don't realize it so little turning off the notifications on the phone. So that you decide when you want to go to Twitter you want to go on social media. It's not constantly buzzing in your pocket and having a dinner consultation with a friend. The phone away guilty as charged. Oh my God. I am so obsessed with in the nighttime thing is that you do you wake up well rested. Well, before I try to go back to see let me see what's up, and you right that it lures you back in. So you should I keep I keep the phone away from like the bed and put it in another room when I'm trying to see the phone in another room. And when you're out at the beginning when you're out with people, and you're having that Jenner put the phone on airplane mode for a couple of hours and see the kind of guy, you know, we're in the habit of we talked the phone, but every time it buzzes. We have to look, oh, what was that? Do. I need to answer that let me run to the restroom and just catch up real quick. And then returned to the dinner table that keeps you know. Peace of mind, no rats. Needs to rat. Coming teacher, if you remember I seen. I saw that one of my inspirations. I saw these kids in classrooms that not only did we have to compensate these songs, but you saw how anxiety ridden when you would take the phone away. They would it would be like they had lost a dog. They had walked the best friend. They it very bad. What it's doing emotionally to a lot of these kids. So people have kids, and they're worried about that or grandkids or whatever you into themselves. You gotta read this book. And I give a ton of suggestions of what I do. And I also sell on a kind of really funny stories about ex-boyfriends and crazy stuff that I that got me to the point of like, wow, these phones Dr not just phones anymore before we let you go. The ex-boyfriend completely separate life on his mobile follow. Yeah. What was that? He had a whole separate and my whole life. I mean, this guy was having all night parties he was. Girl. Doing drugs. He was selling Molly. I had never Joe when I tell you. I have never looked at anybody's phone anybody. I dated April friend of ours had said, hey, did you ever look at? And I was like why would I do that? Let me tell you that with my moment where I was like these phone people are no longer aware of their behavior when they tax their detached from it, and they're living these whole separate lives. Sometimes. So it's burning out aspects of people. That's not to say, I blame the phone. I always blame the person not. Yeah. You know, what is it encouraging? What what is happening to us in the spaces that we're forgetting who we are. And just kind of going off the rails so much to talk to you about an we got to let you know that will you please come back today. This is so telling. And there's a reason why there's problems with children and violence and other things, and I think it stems from exactly what you're talking about. The thanks so much for joining us have listened good luck on the on the programs today, but please come back soon. Because this is this is a great book. Do not disturb well Jedidiah, thanks for taking the time. This morning. Thank you so much. Okay. Talk soon. Then toxin Jedidiah Bela. This is a two time EMMY nominated TV host author of this great new book, you've got to read this book. Do not disturb ghosted my cell phone to take my life back Debbie right on the money. I am obsessive my phone. I know. I I am everything Jedidiah just talked about. I am so guilty of everything. We all right. I don't look at the exit phones. "Before he has to say, okay you know what Sam you you're not, the, guy we're gonna go to the rookie Rosen It isn't the Bradford has struggled physically because you know. He is a veteran. Quarterback and actually when I was out there last, week I told him I go. Here's here's a shocking note for you. You are the oldest, quarterback in the NFC, west which he has never been the oldest. Quarterback in any division he's been in that that's that, tells you how long Bradford's been around but his limitations are not physical he's still throws a very nice. Spiral he hits his spots he but the knee they're not sure it's all the way back there are. Times that they have to slow him down pull him. Out of, the first team offense because there's. A little. Bit of struggling within me going. On and remember he tore his ACL for the second time in that left knee a year ago during preseason so it's, not, necessarily a physical? Thing that, he's lying I mean a mechanical thing he's he's missing it's More physical with the knee. And whether the knee is able to be there, right now and you know until they get into a game. And he gets hit. Nobody really knows pay Dr not be doing my, job here I I know people. Listening are like with all its going. On the baseball world, you got to draw, what's happening with baseball too so I want. To shift here for football squad with Cardoza talk a, little bit of baseball year interesting things going on out west reports breaking that Mike socia- will step down. At season in kind of an odd story can you set some light on how this develops the word. Stands now well I mean you know let's not forget. Socialist in, manager of the, angels since two. Thousand That is a long long time to. Be the manager, of one club it's, the third, longest tenure ever in the history of baseball so that tells you how rare that is, to be you know that, long the same voice you know I think socials reached a point where first, of all it's the last year of his contract he, signed that massive ten year deal ten years ago and which. Was, unheard of for a manager they never get ten year deals and it's it's, you know it it comes to a conclusion at. The end of the season and I think social is one of those guys that he recognizes the. Same voice can get stale. After a while and his probably already has reached that point I remember talking to Tony LaRussa. Whitey Herzog about these things and they said usually after about seven eight? Years, the players, just start, tuning you out because it's the exact same message all the time Time so the fact that he's, been able, to last, ninety years is, really a, testament to to Mike Socia and you know not shocking, at all that that he would step. Away and read the reports and I wouldn't be shocked if he does not manage again but then. Again I know that he really, digs team in, the dugout so. That's gonna be if he's out of the dugout for a, few months he very well could get that edge again let's stick in the AL Wes Pedro the Houston Astros they decided to acquire Roberto Osuna and you.

"Met there was talk about hey maybe we do something to alter ships i think that is treating the symptom think that actually would eliminate any chance of baseball writing its own ship you know in incentivizing the small guy who was at high ball or maybe if you draft a god who hits four hundred at lower le right because that's everyone says they want tony gwynn but what we really promote and pay is joey gallo that needs to change and then we can get singles hitters and a george brett type back in the game and and you know you don't they l to they has power he definitely has power for a little guy but he's also gave does all the other things correctly and he's a guy that hit he hits the gaps but you know he's a guy that if he hit singles he's still leader on the team and it jose altuve eight was playing in nineteen seventy three he'd he'd be hitting three eighty yeah you'd be shooting for but he has sold out for power so he can still hit forever and get hits but these guys would adjust like a great player like fell to bay in the mid seventies correct tb challenging for batting titles with bill matlock and guys like that oh my god matlock back in the day dave parker even think of a guy big day parker hitting you probably hitting the high sixty sixties at times with like he may have liked led the league once with like a three thirty eight or something like that but that's that's a good point he's the guy now that would be just hitting for power him up the incentive system was different and he tried to hit for average he was doing all right you heard it here brian kenny wanting small ball back just like we do we grew up with whitey herzog the white rat you know slapping down on the astroturf and see with have maybe we need to bring back astroturf for christ's sake right astroturf dead in the ball dead in the batch there's ways of doing it it might hurt for a little bit but i think eventually we're going to have to make those decisions.

"Independent the year before mets won ninety eight games but the calls on the beat them out that's the world series loss to the royals but you know whatever they go in early to play the cardinals early in eighty six maybe a week into it maybe a week and a half two weeks into it and anthony at howard johnson in the first game i believe it was off mark with tell i wanna i wanna say that's who was one hundred percent hits a big home run that turns out to win the game and i think that kind of precipitator why you reside with the back parking stuff and all that stuff that he would check the bat and they went on and swept that series and that really set the tone for the mets to go on and just run away with the with the division in one thousand nine hundred six now i am not suggesting by any way straight stretch anyway here any means any means at all that is going to happen to the mess this year it's only six games into it but yesterday that reminded me a lot of that game yeah i remember reading that whitey herzog eventually said the mets of the team to beat i dunno if dave martinez is going to do that right this this game i know what's the nationals home opener and all that but this is important and much into the mets than it is the national question but by the way you mentioned dave martinez let's come on you don't have a lefty pitch at the bruce in that spot i mean let's be serious about that too he never left the warm dolled up all the guys pitching have a lefty basesloaded who is becoming obvious that brandon kinzler just did not have it wasn't exactly got a few lefties in his bullpen he at any romero he's got mad grace and he's got doolittle he's not gonna use doolittle because it's just closer but you're right about that right now all of the new managers have faced a little bit of criticism some more than others as gabe kappler.

"Yeah you know so i'm saying well even if you do get traded you know at least you know you make them pay for but in this instance it was a little different because when whitey came out he didn't know whitey herzog came out he had no idea that i had a no trade clause because it was unheard of for three or four year player to have no trade but anyway he got back to saint louis and he realized that that that was kind of a stumbling block because for me certainly playing in san diego and now come in the site lewis and it was the winter on so on yeah i'm going from sunshine eighty degrees yeah so you know in the back of my mind i'm thinking that well you know if i do go i at least i'm going to place where i'm wanted right true in everybody wants to be in a place where they're wanted and for all of us you know there's always questions we even question ourselves as to whether or not we as good as we think we are all do it all the time in comedy all the time you know so we're no difference as players you know how how how good i'ma and been getting the opportunity to come over here and play for an organization that was rich in tradition but cardinals were and being a player that was highly sought after once the once this deal was consummated let me back up here a little bit once this deal was consummated in the way that the deal was consummated is that once he found out that i have no trade clause in my contract he said.
