"Podcast. I just kinda like to have my clients But so yes so megan. I think just in. It's kinda nice in the fact that she knows what she wants and what she's comfortable with and she's doing exactly what she wants to be doing. Despite the fact that miss the united tried to like get a road show of megan going around the industry media to her. He's gentle calming presence. Oh he was awesome gem after another. You know yes. She's like someone invited me to their book club to go over the book and now i'm a member of it our group so we'll see if we actually are able to get megan she. I mean when you have a number eighty five but people are literally. She said calling her like a home which is kind of creepy deep. Don't do that to megan. She's seems very lovely But i be you calling her to whatever. Megan never idea. Oh my god. I'm like you need at ted ex. You need then. Shoes just amazing But so missing. We're talking about well. We need to just have an excuse to make sure that we're actually doing this So we will probably within our mom and community on facebook. we're trying to not break any copyright laws or i owed disrespect The actual content but still talk around the topics that are in the book and has a meaningful discussion around that as she said first of all the point was made is kind of an interesting story. Where even though it's her book it was four this whatever. The publisher is i. Don't even rock ridge press it. Looks like they kind of reached out to her and said we wanna do this book. Can we use your knowledge to do it. So their books she does not. We're not pimping her out. A sale of this book does not necessarily go. She's been paid for the work. She's going to do on this book tomorrow so she's not out there trying to hawk the book but i can tell you for the amount of information that you get out of it. It's like under ten dollars. Get on amazon trying to sell stuff on amazon. Go try to find it on your local bookstore too. But i mean it's i can't. You can't even freaked it's gorgeous. It's like full color. You can't even rent it for ten bucks so think it'll be worth it if people wanna go out and get a copy of the book before december We are planning on doing some of the exercises and talking through some of the exercises. And so it'll probably just be a couple episodes there in december that missy and i record shorter than our usual our where we just kind of talk.

"She kind of operated as a coach. Time it's ruining she would come in the people come in the office. I don't know. I don't know where they are and billions right now. I can't remember like where she even works. But both of those shows are coming back. And i'm super super excited but i think all watch them after november because november is bananas. Everybody needs a coach in succession because they are all a mess. Gosh there such a mess. Not the normal show. I would like i talked about it here on the podcast before that i have a little bit of an aversion to power those billions in succession all about power and money and i cannot get enough so alter alter-ego like i love it. I love how dysfunctional they are. How broken all the people are and And i loved that. They're employing some coaching principles on their television show. I think iraq up there. You're right that's all you address. Okay so i am looking and listening to the book. Little b. o. By chris cleave. Have you listened. I is this. Why i'm reading this because you know i don't. I don't know so. I feel like brought it but it also is my book club. Book club is next week. Will i think they just canceled it. Because they're just they're november rain. They're like nope. I just realized it's november. Nothing can happen until january But i was trying to catch up. So i'm actually listening to it and also i read it when i'm in bed and i listened to it when i'm driving around. Which makes it really hard forward. Yeah i i need there to be a feature on the audible or whatever that says. This corresponds to such and such page in the book. Because i spent a good portion of my day flipping through trying to figure out exactly where i'm at. I need to just just can stain with one until chapters done is what i need to do that are do but no..

"What's your situation. What are you looking for There are in coaching. Sometimes pants we talk about kind of a primary focus of like in the course of extra time. Three six nine something like that. Where do you wanna be. Well i wanna. I wanna feel not stuck in his career. I want to make a decision about standing my marriage and i want you to not feel so overwhelmed stressed. All right like that's kind of a primary focus and then on any given session. We have focused for that day right. So so what's going on related to bad. The today is gonna help. Peel that onion. Where are we going towards unit working on overwhelm right. Overwhelm is your thing. Who can't what's going on around that this week. What can we do to move the ball down the field just a little bit in the session. So yeah so. It's really a pretty organic process. It's some coaches work packages where you buy three months. Six months one on whatever packages front. Some coaches are more session session You just want to get to neural the coach really look at. What is your social media. Look quite what is their writing with like you. Have you heard them on. Podcast like do you buy with us. Yeah their way of being world right because it's it's pretty intimate like ye need to have that chemistry in that energy together Yeah i'm guessing. There's a lot of guts a gut feel if just listen to yourself be like. Does this feel right right. We'll meet somebody out in the world. You're like we're going to be friends. Like i was just telling cindy before we started when suzanne and i met we've rooms at a conference and it looks like we're gonna be alright right like we're gonna make it we're going to be. We can run together. This is good. You have a gut feel. And i think it's the same with it's the same with you. You go to a doctor. And you're like i like their bedside manner you know if you vibe with that coach then listen to yourself or if you're not listen to yourself yeah there's also styles of which are looking for so there are folks who rates with themselves out there kind of accountability coach canada. I'm here to help you make change in. Kick your butt. We're going to. I'm gonna hold you accountable and not going to think. If somebody really was looking for that type of coaching it would be a terrible thing for me is. I'm a lot more interested in like who are you like. How do you move. I stayed in which your state of your relationship to yourself right in this quiet moments. Are you piece like we like that kind of stuff. And so if somebody wants kick my ass on to take on the world coach like there are a lot of coaches. Who would love to do that. I'm not going to be aggressive with that person right so really like checkout what. Somebody says about themselves on their website and believe that right. Yeah what you want out of the process. Yeah is there like a cha. I'm sure you could just google like a checklist of questions to ask coach or to ask yourself about your interaction with that coach to see if they're going to be a good fit. People should probably use that when going out on dates as well just interacting with other. Humans commute sexy right out dates that. And you're married. that's great. I don't i don't know of a formal checklists. But what missy what you just said i think that's that's the best advice i would give. Is you know which also would apply date..

"This isn't something that we've been talking about. I haven't had any for you to be like what are you talking about. It was so weird. Because my daughter zoe and i had been talking about it for months leading up to that and i finally got to the point. Where like. I'm stalling enough. So he's going to think i'm crazy. Why haven't we signed up to do this. And it was seriously the point of like. I'm going to put myself in the position. I'm going to act as if i am a standard paddleboard or what would be the first thing that i do. I would probably have to park macarthur. who was just. It was literally the active. Like where would one park if when was going to go stand up paddle boarding okay. Okay park so. I can do that and so i do think people are. Hopefully there are others like me. And i'm not the only one who feels this way. Yeah so let's pretend instead of stand up paddle boarding. It is going to see a coach. So what are those things you know. What is the equivalent of finding the parking space to go to be with coach like so. I'm assuming someone starts by going to your website and reaching out what would be the proper thing for someone to say who feels like there already just asking the coach wrong like they need to give you a ten page. You know breakdown and what their problem is or do they just need to be. Hi my name's suzanne a what is your availability like i can i. Can i give you. I have two thoughts about the backup. Just a second about this. Like who needs a coach and like the stigma issue and in the first one is kind of from an athletic point of view. Like we're all familiar with the idea that the best basketball players in the world have a coach. Yes soccer players on ted lasso had to lasso. The gymnasts have coach. Should you know we're all used to the idea that in athletics. There's a coach. I you know. I've been a runner since i don't know middle school..

"A lot of folks who are going to therapy diagnosis Therapy world is known as a adjustment disorder. Another it's throwaway diagnosis. But it's kind of the one on somebody in derby an adjustment disorder just kind of looks like regular people dealing with regular people problems right. You're adjusting to your ear jesting to divorce. You're adjusting to a new job. And herman our time and so someone who's kind of vacuum who is not struggling with mental health issues. Somebody who's dealing with regular life problems. They still stop frustrated. They feel like they're not sure what their next step should be. I do. I stay in a relationship. Do i leave things. Feel kinda not depressed. But maybe things still kinda gray now. And i'm looking. I remember a time when my life felt more colorful than this with more on. That would be stuff. It'd be good for coach are kind of think about. It is like ben diagrams. Right like you've got to circles you've got you know the therapy circuit circle. The truth is a lot of folks could do well in eager right. Yeah does that help. Is that what do people do them at the same time a lot or is it one of those things like you should probably go. Do your therapy in. Then enter coaching or can they work together. That's a great question before i did this program. I wasn't really familiar with that but actually seen in my program. I've seen a lot of people do that successfully together so somebody humidity has some dramatic stuff from their childhood. They wanna be dealing with or a mood disorder. Install humidity on some medication. Whatever but they're actively working with their mrs flying well and they're interested in coaching kind of explore more specific at career decision in or whatever mean. Coaching can can really be about anything but yeah they absolutely were candidate. The and there's some best practices with you know therapist and the coach possibly having communication consent required to have that being so. Yeah that actually isn't as uncommon thinking. There are people who i coach who also have a therapist and the state focus on a different set of things. And then what you. We know personally. When i went through some coaching in unlocked some stuff that i did not realize was there and required some meaning. You get their help you kind of go. Yeah some of the questions. She was asking their take helping me get unstuck at a certain point in my life and really it was around. My physical health had suffered because my mental health had kind of been for a while. And she was. She's an athlete and she was helping me. Get back and find some of that and but in the process of asking questions about my limiting beliefs like what was it was stopping me. I kind of went back into. I need to go deeper on some of these things. I my limiting beliefs. Don't just extend to my ability to do squats or run a mile like there's more there and so. I already had a relationship with a therapist. But i scheduled an appointment to go back and see her and dive into some other staff because of some of the things that came up in our coaching session. And my the woman who was coaching me said i am not a therapist. Home not qualified to offer you therapy. That's not what we're here for. Good for her good yes she did a good job and we had because we had a friend relationship as well just like i'd love to dive in this with you like i really would love to talk about the new novel. We're doing here if you have a therapist. That's go there. it's going to bear. Yeah that would be better suited for their man. That's that's syrians and not surprising at all. Like how beautiful. These things were showing up. You know showed up in your body the help and then you start killing back. The layers look..

"And once you alignment things get easier and we live in a culture that isn't like slap new routine on it. Try this and go to the john. Warren like i mean who do you know. That isn't breaking under the way to the schedules right now. Like every ain't nobody. Yeah exactly so now you are culture of. I'm sorry we always do that. That's just saying we are a culture of excess and add on. The idea of taking away is sort of scary. I think people when you start talking about. What can you let go. We interviewed someone. this week. Episodes see upcoming but without giving spoilers one of the things she talked to us about was the jennifer. This stuff you don't have to do hard women especially like we'll there's nothing after then the false. That's a falsehood but getting people to that point to see it as tumb well and that's something we talked to got in the was the stories we talk shows right like in really just having having a coach near you to say such through. The tree can't let that go like let's let's. Let's kick that around in a really supportive. Empathetic like container but to say let's check that out. Let's keep that around a little bit. Kick the tires and not really true. What else. let's imagine. let's do it. Let's do some imagining what happened. And yeah that's that's usually our egos. You know trying to hold on so important. That i'm i'm giving you my community and i'm this kind of mom. I'm this kind of worker. This current whatever and and the fear is go who we're going to be s woo. That should be our tagline. Wendy that's our tagline. Good man you see way. When i come back from coffee with cindy it's like i got some stuff. This thing through me. Some questions up on the answers now. Okay now this is. This is kind of separate from coaching. But we kind of eluded to we were talking about ted lasso and the difference between the coach and someone who is a psychologist or therapy or whatever and so if this is out of your wheelhouse or just not anything that you feel comfortable talking about. Just let me know but i am curious for people who are trying to decide. Do i need a coach or do i need to go to therapy. Like is there. You know kinda some boxes. They should check off to decide one versus the other absolute checklists. I know you know this is absolutely as part of training. Any good program should be hoping the trainees understand where those lines are are so yeah that's super important in my take on. It is that you know coaching in therapy during the same wheelhouse right like it's all about talking with. It looks a lot the same right like it's two people having intimate conversation right at the end of the day. There's a lot of things in common. There are some bright line differences but that we can talk about things like You know mental illness right. Somebody has an active diagnosis. If somebody is actively struggling with depression anxiety eating disorders things that would qualify in the dsm as actual diagnoses. That are actively. Hurting impacting. your quality of life. You should probably hang out the therapist right like. That's so you dealing with mental illness. And what else. Things like trauma right. My coaches coaches should probably stay away from trauma and when you look at the ethical standards of the ics did it is pretty clear about. We start talking about really going deep with trauma issues. That's that's where coach should be hanging out I think when you think about kuching you can think about it in some ways. It's kind of a pure professional to therapy right. So you care. Professional teachers you have paraprofessional medical staff. Not everyone he goes to. Therapy is struggling with real active diagnosis..

"There's some difficult stuff. And i've always been really comfortable that it had a really high tolerance for like somebody can tell me big stories and big stuff and i can be there with them and then also i've had people say like how did you hear all the stuff in walkaway. Go on with your life at. that's i i can. I can do both and so. Yeah so i've been running this medical practice for about eight years and has been huge. That was a huge habit out of a couple year break with my boys were born estate home for almost three years so definitely related to a lot of which about i cast of like you. Step out on one career. And then now. His wiping butts white christen professional professional wiper One needs something white. So so i've been doing that. Certainly a game. Incredible skills from happened even in that role. When i was working in the office i don't i don't do that directly anymore but when i did you know i remember working with staff and it's like a lot less about the performance in staff member who was going through a big life transition in her. Somebody was sorting out a relationship problem. So what my office. Kinda look like was a little coochie room. That's where i work So in there's been a threat of it forever and not kind of started looking for my my next move this this made sense. It's so exciting so now. Okay so where. Where does one start when one is trying to decide if they want to be a coach but then if they say yes for sure i do wanna be a coat. I'm assuming that there's all kinds of different certification programs based on what area you want to focus bot i. I'm assuming that i have zero idea. I mean i know what you were focusing on. But i don't know the wide variety. Yeah you did it Honestly and i say this with with all respect but some people refer to. The coaching industry is the kind of unregulated wild west It is in some ways. It is a largely regulated industry. I'm a coach. Could be a coach raw coaches like. There's there's no legal container to okay. You'll be able to call yourself It doesn't exist and there's pros and cons to that right like so you know anyone can be coach and so the barrier to entry can be a little bit low to somebody who really asked passion for this wants to do it. They can get in and it also means that. The quality can vary widely with im- operating someone house and experience and we're gonna certifications. They've gone through. How to Recognize Symptoms of Suicidal Behavior

"Emily kwong here joined re chatterjee. Npr's mental health correspondent. So i want to start this conversation in a place of awareness. How can you even tell if a loved one. Be feeling suicidal. Well lassine says watch for certain warning signs. Most obvious is probably just talking about death and talking about suicide bitching it either casually or even if it's jokingly or specifically talking about it for themselves and then there are the less of your science like sudden changes in behavior there will be changes in their mood usually towards greater agitation or greater sadness increased anger and irritability changes in substance use so Radically increasing the amount of substance use or beginning to use substances. If they hadn't done that before there's some changes in sleep or eating now. During the pandemic law people may be experiencing these changes in behavior sleep patterns mood. It doesn't mean that they're all thinking about dying but having mental health issues does increase people's risk of suicide but it can take a wild before someone goes from being depressed feeling so hopeless that they don't want to live anymore and this gives friends and loved ones opportunities for prevention right. The way to think about this is to identify and help people with these mental health problems before they get to a point of crisis exactly You know. I spoke with psychologists or sula whiteside. She studies suicide prevention of the university of washington and also started. This website called now matters now which feature stories of survivors of suicide attempts. And she says it's important to pay attention if someone is withdrawing from friends and family and their regular activities

Nuggets Rally Again To Stun Los Angeles Clippers, Force Game 7

"I thought you guys said, the Nuggets Clippers series was over I. Know I did. I said the nuggets we're packing to get on the bubble. What happened Yeah I. Tony this elephant series I mean they seem to be in the clippers heads now and the question is, can they lived there for one more game? A game seven tomorrow night to go to the Western Conference final win expects from the clippers. I mean when you when you were the clippers and you have Leonard and you have Paul George, who were not, they were great. They were barely good yesterday and you've got Yo could shoot shots off one foot with these. I mean it's UNBELIEVA I eat PICCI's throwing off one foot and his all Neta. Cup. Several Times I differs in this I don't know expect expected the game tomorrow night I have no idea who's going to win game seven. I'm going to pick the clippers because I think that they are the better team but as much as I like Doc rivers and as much as you love dot. Smith Guy, he has the only coach in NBA. Whiteside, lose a series where he was already worry one. This could be three You often say that Denver's very young team and you can't expect much of them but they've been together longer than the clippers the clippers this is all on Kuwa- and your boy playoff Pete because they were brought here one games like like this. So you still you're still look I think the clippers can win but Tony at this point I think mistakes that I keep waiting for Denver to make the kill them, they make them and a mistake still don't kill him. To grant one, three, one, eight, they were down three Utah wanted yeah

Virgin Galactic reports high interest in its space flights

"Shares of Virgin Galactic falling on earnings now. Virgin Galactic is the Space Tourism Company founded by Richard Branson by space tourism. Right now. We're we're talking more space. Planes that fly tourists to sub orbital space and back and that hasn't happened yet but that's phase one and we should add virgin galactic losing loads of money but the stock has nearly tripled this year. It's been all right hasn't it? Yeah the first the first in-orbit flight they have is probably their their share price. Nice okay so when we think. What do we think about? What do we think about the business? Yeah I'm getting such a good chuckle saying stock fall on quote. Earning right like what are they reporting? There's not much to say here. The visit has hasn't proven itself out and honestly nothing that Virgin Galactic said in. This call really should move the needle for anybody who is buying urging lactic stock at this point. Because what you're doing is you're buying a belief of the future space travel. It could be five years in the future could be fifteen. We don't really know virgin. Galactic said they had eight thousand people who have expressed registrations of interest and potential commercial spaceflight. What they're doing is literally the only statistic and those and they're starting to accept. I can thousand dollar deposits for people who are it's fully refundable but for people who are looking to potentially take that space light. It's almost tesla strategy except for that. Task Casa quarter of a million dollars. Okay well speaking of a quarter of a million dollars. Let me add that since two thousand and four Virgin Galactic said that more than six hundred people have reserved flights ranging from anywhere from two hundred thousand to two hundred fifty thousand. I guess it's two hundred thousand. That's coach I guess no snack and I can't use points right no snacks. You don't WanNA price to awesome this ratio. I think that Virgin Galactic is pretty cheap. But that's literally that's that's the only metric I can think of that matters. You know at this stage in their in their growth. I mean if you you either believe in the future of space travel or you don't and eight thousand people who've signed up and you know that's that's interesting to me But otherwise I don't yeah I don't know what they would report that they don't have revenues. They don't have you know they don't they certainly don't have profits. All they have is interesting. It's the definition of speculation at this point and got some. They've got some pretty stiff competition. Right you've got Ilan Moscow over SPACEX and you've got Bas Jeff bezos blue origin. Now both of those are private. So is the name of the game here that you really want to be private or. Is there an advantage to being public? Well clearly. The advantage being public is getting your name out there. In front of a lot of people. Being the first publicly traded commercial spaceflight company has a lot of weight to go with it but the downside is is. It doesn't give you as much time to figure things out now the CEO George whiteside did say that they're focused. This year was going to be on safety revenue in his testimony. Not having flights exactly but the thing is is is blue origin or space x could potentially have a disastrous launch. And it would be bad. It would be a setback but the they continue as companies Virgin Galactic. They mess up once they will be destroyed for that the difference between them. I mean if you got Branson's backing but he doesn't have the pockets the mosque as he doesn't have the pockets that the You know that Amazon has you know so I I think that they probably are their public. For a reason. I mean companies go public so they can tap the public markets for additional equity. Which all of these will need. But they've got a. They've got a different funding strategy than the other two okay. I'm going to count you as both cautious very pessimistic cautious and I I have totally misled. Everybody listening than because I love this company. I'm so sorry I am I. I'm twenty five years old. I did a poll on the rule. Breaker investing podcast a few weeks ago and I asked them in my lifetime to somebody make. Who's making a good living? You know say more six figures but not ridiculous. Not a quarter million dollars Somebody making six figures. Will they be able to in my lifetime reasonably by vacation on into space right in every single person said yes in that room and you know what I? I'm not sure I know what to think about the stock price right now but as a company when I think about the future. I can't help but picture that it might be foolish okay. So that's a fair distinction. I mean we all get excited about the potential here but that's different than saying that you should invest in the stock right now. I think that it's speculation. I said it before if you're buying shares of Virgin Galactic. You're not doing it because you you're doing it. Based off. Some fundamentals of the company are doing it off of a belief. You're almost not buying a company. Yeah you're you're buying faith. You're you're exactly. That sounds very like you know very trippy. But it's it's true and by the way I just I actually gave credit to Amazon for. Jeff bezos is an investment in In blue origin. So I'm sorry about that. This is not a new subsidiary for For for Amazon but yet that's exactly right. I mean you know the fact that those two are also in the game in some ways gives a little more credibility to virgin galactic as a

"The litany of injuries that have plagued the Philadelphia Eagles. Who was reported yesterday? That Alshon Jeffery is done for the season after suffering a foot injury injury on Monday philly sitting at six and seven tied atop the NFC East with Dallas. Nick Can Carson wentz overcome injury after injury after injury to lead the eagles to the playoffs. Well I think the eagles are going to go to the playoffs. And I guess if you WANNA say they get led by their quarterback than the answer's yes I this is is going to be a win by default. This is whomever wins this division. I know you believe the cowboys but I don't think either one of US think one of these teams all of a sudden there's is gonNA surge to the finish flip a switch and become the team that they could have been at the beginning of the year and the the problem for Philly is it would be easy and it is probably not disease somewhat fair to blame some of the issues on offense at to wide receiver. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Do like what the college kids do? And I'm telling you have the wrong countdown. So like you know how in college games they there's a shot clock. "But Winslow as an asset Winslow is to find something here, nationally, people do not look at the at this Rosser the same way that people locally nationally, these are hard sells windows a nice player. And I think at that contract, it's a reasonable contract considering how he played one Gorringe truck was out. He still an unproven commodity in the eyes of many nationally, people laughing face. When we tout Justice winds up people, laughing face when we tout Josh Richardson. Now, people laughing face when we say, we can get rid of these contracts, because we've proven that we can now this year may be different, which is the lamented, the fan there's always next year because now. R&b contracts have value because they're expiring. I don't know what the hell they do with us on that be named. I don't know how they free money to Billy's point, make suck. Let's talk about Yama Goto because he was g again yesterday. We will let you Yama gloat all you want. Just gimme a second to your point, which is the heat suck. And they're terrible. Here's thought that winning the championship next year. Do they have the worst? I doubt the worst, but. I know the dolphins do while we're really. Doing big things down here and but Billy says they're going well hunting next year because they've got to clear up all the pets gonna get all the meetings, but meal real victories with who really sucks all of them all of them the real victory for the heat will be moving Whiteside without giving up that first round pick. Right. That's what we're trying to do. Yeah, I think it's pretty clear. We could move him if we package that pick. I bet you. That's what Riley is really trying to do. I, I don't know. That's the that's the Victor. Yeah. But that's a thing that pick and moving a hell of, like that's a hell of a sweetener thirteen overall. Is this isn't a lower round peg now at thirteen? It's a little shaky as to whether or not, you'll get a superstar, but it's an attractive piece, and you'd really hate to use it as a sweetener, you'd really like to use that to get a superstar. Not to just unloaded contract. I heard them driving in and they were just ripping Chris Paul Romberg was, and it, I'm I'm thinking it could end up in a spot where he ends up here. It just don't you? Like, I don't know how it work, it doesn't really make sense because of all the money you spend on. But it just seems like something that might happen. It does hall still has that, you know, that name power and Riley loves a big name, those kind of feel that way. But now considering how the Davis move, I think a lot of people are just like sort of your marking the Lakers as at landing spot. I the Lakers, it's going to be really interesting to see how they build out that Rosser was second round picks because they can't trade picks and back to back years. They have about right now. Twenty four million dollars to spend that's not good enough for amac's player, and they don't really have players on their roster that they can trade. If Chris Ball wants to get traded that bad and his contract is contract that can't be moved. Is it is it crazy to think that he might he would never renegotiate that, like if he wants to move that, that? So he doesn't wanna move that bad enough to take less money. Maybe he can. I don't know the details of his contract. But sometimes there are escalators, if you got traded, like Anthony. Davis has a four million dollar trade escalator, and he has the ability to waive that, but why would he if he's getting good advice. He would do that. Only to help the team win. But that's not really what clutch sports has been about lately, taking any sort of discounts. And the reports are that it wasn't. I don't know why teams would count on that, that would seem to be Rich Paul in a really unenviable position to try to, like, hey, for my other client, take four million dollars less. And that's what Saint Gundy said, which does not do he does what's always best for his clients. So why would he just say goodbye to four million dollars, especially when he's moving to a state like California? The rocket saying that was yesterday was a big day for this league..

She really believes that space and mindfulness have the power to expand our minds and help us grow as a species, which sounds a little grandiose. But I think you're gonna find her arguments really compelling. I mentioned that she's got a really interesting CV just a few other points on this. This is just a partial list of things she's done. She's researched plant life into Canadian Arctic with NASA, she dove to the bottom of the ocean with the director of Titanic James Cameron for the I max film aliens of the deep. She's floated weightless hundreds of times as a flight director for the zero gravity corporation. She studied tariff on. So so I always start with the same question, which is had had you get into meditation. Well, I'm really lucky I went to of really I now realize was a very progressive Catholic school in northern California. And I remember in high school, you know, sister Lillian, which is tickets to the chapel he moves the chairs out of the way lay down on the carpet, and she would do guided meditations for us and start that was normal. It's just what you do to connect with God or the cosmos. So she would infuse it with some religious content. I don't think so necessarily it was more like a a body check in like let your arms relax, your filling sand like that kind of thing. And we, you know, we did retreats, and you know, you go to the Christian brothers retreat center, and we'd spent three days like connecting and talking with each other about our fears, and you know, what's in the way of our relationships, and it was just a really sacred extrordinary connected authentic space, and it was till I got to college. I was like, oh everybody else doesn't do that. Oh, okay. Where did you go to school Stanford stayed in northern California? But this difference. I mean, I guess my parents met and married. It's never admit school. Open. The seals shared a cadaver true story. I know it's really romantic they there, but my images of Stanford..

Good hustle checking after different guys rotations defensively. Numbers. Gotta find somebody to make some shots mentioned a cold yoga's now two of seven he's missed all this parameter shots. That's where you want to get him in the paint fouls on Whiteside. Top of the key to the Chola Yokich and go on owning hands off behind him to Murray. He's in the pain in the corner. Montaigne Morris missed he's I missed the game. Was that Missy six or seven waiters gets the outlet pass up the left wing by Jamal Murray. Very China for some baseline waiters right hand. Throws it over on the right side of Johnson. Now inside the arc the Whiteside back down logo Winslow the foul on the leaked Beasley on the steel. Second team foul and a quarter against Denver. So that'll be Miami. They're going to give him free throws here. That would be generous. Now that you referees are talking it over. And they will give him free throws. Replay what great hands are busy. That's that's one of those anticipation ears. Assuming the guy's gonna make more contact. And when you do that, I think in this league will get a job with the guys. Justice woods. Oh, I read does up at in hacked to twenty two points against Golden State last night. That's the most twenty six against Memphis in early January. Previews been struggling previous three games total of twenty two points while shooting twenty six percent from the floor and thirteen percent from downtown second free. Throw by Winslow is good. Miami's back in the lead by one years. Denver can't find the offense to start the second quarter. It's an eleven to two run here by Miami to begin the periods yoga Chas at the elbow. It's a post up on own activities up his dribble. Throws the opposite corner Jamal berry right back to Yokich yoga shoots over only. Banked it up at in a rare bucket for Denver in the second quarter to thirteen before that side goes in for the nuggets here in the second quarter shooting waiters has it at the mid Ford circle out there by Jamal Murray. Crossover moved to the right hand gets the paint hands it off download downloaded Winslow leans in. Layup is up in defense for Denver watch the rest of the season watch the rest of the game starts with the ball. Penetration. Yoga chance it off over to Monte Moore's left side, not a leak, Beasley Beasley gets a slip pick from Yokich. Does it to Yokich on the pick and pop you'll try at three. Forty four forty two Denver back in the league jokers really been struggling with that three pointer at a really tough road trip from the perimeter. The big court circles Justice Winslow gets to pick from owning. He throws it on the right side and mcgruder goes to the left hand. He's in the paint. He gets cut off by Monte moors throws out of it. Open. Dion waiters five on the shot clock. Five minutes develop waiters one on one. With Beasley the three point line gets the free throw line way up as an airball at the horn. And then Whiteside hits the colour Yokich in the face on the rebound and Shoko go straight down to the ground laying on his back. He's her hit him in the eye. Take a look at the replay here. Scotty. Oh, it's all Nick. He's got a cut over his left eye. The officials see it. They may call for blood. They may give him some time. They may see if he gets up still down on the ground underneath the Miami Heat bass. And now Jamal Murray helps them up here and the referee. Tony Brown comes over to real pitches. Wanna talk to they may look at this. Now the review may look at this for a flagrant. I think it was in the action of the game. Danske the head athletic trainers. Checking him out. I'm for I for sure don't think owning anything malicious. Now again, we can hear the referees up here. Kenny wants to see if there's enough there for to warrant a flagrant foul. But actually, it's the elbow by all enacted goes up. Pops him in the eyeball. All right. So he's got his decision made here. Let's see what he makes you got the information needed. It's incidentals what they're going to say. So I raised I do too. Don't feel good. No, no. It's still hurts the same as if it were flagrant fouls. You don't hurt at all? Right. Dental the that gives you three butterflies in the eyelid. What was the one? They had. When was Tori, Craig that got kicked in the head on dunk by brewer and the ruling on that was an unsportsmanlike flagrant nother starting to classify flagrant fouls. Probably the unsportsmanlike was the hanging on the rim. Bad thing is a good thing. Nicole is okay. Bad thing is just made two straight shots, including a three now visit angry or does it affect his shot? Inbound goes to Jamal Murray. We're back to action here in the second quarter. Top of the key. Mason Plumlee Hassan Whiteside. I love cited Nicole yoga. Yokich throws out of it over to Jamal Murray. Murray's been quiet. It's a pick for Plumlee gets down the lane little teardrop missed everything comes down to only thousand six feet out when eight. Only in the front court over to Dion waiters waiters guarded by Mason Plumlee at the three point line. There was only offensive foul on Olmec. There's Murray hit the deck. Right now because he's the one that got. Joker that right there. It almost looked like just a fee got tangled up step back stepped on the foot again incident and a beneficial golfer dimmer now, you gotta take advantage of when you get goals like that Jamal has it across the timeline out there by Richardson throws it often Ecole Yokich Yokich gets a pick. From Beasley goes baseline. Got pushed the whistle missed it by Mason Plumlee. M along wants to know why there wasn't a foul there. He almost got pushed out about got it on the ram. Mrs by Nicolo got to tip dunk by plumber. Four minutes left to go in the first half. Winslow has it picks up the dribble throws back behind him over to Richardson Richardson guarded, by Beasley gets a bit from Whiteside slips it again number shows hard on it down low. Layup is up and in nice pass by by Richardson that found Winslow opened down low apart yelling at Jamal saying I got inside he took the big. But then see the other body simple high. Barton has it on a hand off over the Beasley gets pulled out of his hands and out of bounds last touch by Richardson, and he comes up a little bit lame on that right ankle. He is limp at Har that right sided. Yeah. He is Denver basketball on the side here. Sixteen seconds on the shot clock. Still for Denver. And here we go. Wilbert looks in over to Mason Plumlee, top of the key to call Yokich Yokich by owning things left side over to Jamal Murray. Very fake the pass leans Bank shot off the window. No good. And the rebound comes down to only. Good blackout by Winslow on plumbing, Jamal Murray's over three waiters has it on the right side. Those over to Winslow Winslow skip past Richardson's kicks out waiters for three that was nothing but net. And now the nuggets trail again, forty seven to forty six tough second quarter here for Denver. And here comes to MoMA relieves it behind him to Nicola Yokich yoga. Chaz it across the timeline. It's a pick from Jamal Murray. Throws left side is to plug it out of bounds last touch by part. And there's a turnover for Denver Denver six of nineteen shooting. The basketball this court, and.

For Cal in the Big Game, its always maybe next year

"You're listening to the spoken edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. For Cal in the big game. It's always maybe next year. There are times when a habit never grows old Stanford's football program nose. The feeling no matter how often the cardinal beat cow, and that's nine street wins after Saturday's twenty three thirteen victory. There's an exhilarating freshness to carrying the axe around the field, and it's all the sweeter. If it happens in strawberry canyon. There wasn't much to say about the game. Not with the bears. Simply refusing to accept the golden opportunities coming their way, there were no trombone players on the field. No mud-soaked miracles or fond farewells Trump beloved coach, none of the vivid developments that have characterized the big games history. And it's not such a crushing development for the bears. Seven five who will feel better about things when they're bowl game to be determined. Sunday comes around later this month. Still nothing discuss Cal sporting community. Like the site of Stanford winning this game with the student section big. Sunlight people. Were in. No rush to leave not even after Paulson debates. Forty three yard interception return setup. Stanford's final score in the weaning minutes. This had been terrific day for attendance to the point where the announced figure of fifty seven thousand eight hundred fifty eight actually seemed a few thousand short making a pleasant. Contrast to the desolate Levi stadium Friday nights Pac twelve championship game, oddly, the only disappointing attendances you was on Stanford's end of the six sections set aside for the red-clad visitors in the stadium southeast corner. Some were notable for their vacancy, but the voices were loud and proud backed by the ever ninety Stanford band, and those people got a mighty reward at game's end heading their way trotting joyously across the field. We're seniors Jake Bailey. JJ Sega Whiteside and Ryan Beecher toting the weighty impressive acts as so many Stanford players have done before in a rivalry carrying this much tradition. You'd like to think they trade the thing off on occasion. But. This trophy has become strictly farm property. It's always maybe next year for cow. Always a sense of envy and regret. Nobody expected the bears passing game to even approach Stanford's high-powered attack led by quarterback cage Acosta. Hello and our Sega Whiteside who entered the game with fourteen touchdown catches. And yet the chances were there and roundly blown in the second quarter with Stanford leading ten three quarterback. Chase Garber had Jordan Dunkin open in the end zone on a third and five pass from the seven yard line. But overshot him Dunkin barely getting a fingertip on the ball the bear settled for another. Greg Thomas field goal wide receiver. Jeremiah Hawkins had a couple of nice catches on the day. But he'll mostly be remembered dropping a perfect pass along the right sideline in the third quarter costing the bears about a twenty yard play and killing Dr. Then there was a deebo spectacular end zone. Interception early in the fourth quarter. Notable by the fact that the intended receiver MO ways was nowhere near the ball. All when garbs finally connected on a touchdown. Throw an eleven yard Dunkin. There were just ten seconds left in the game. He's a younger player, and he's got to continue to improve coach Justin Wilcox that have gardeners. I thought he took a step forward. One hundred ninety seven yards passing to Custos two hundred thirty seven even though there were some opportunities. He would love to have back. You're going to have a tough time beating Stanford if you're not scoring touchdowns in describing the mood of his post game locker room Wilcox said everybody's kicked in the gut. And as the regular season ends that could apply in large part to the entire pack twelve aside from the lamentable TV contract and ever do be officiating. The championship game is an ongoing disaster Levi stadium with a contract running through next season and an option for twenty twenty beyond that it's likely to find a more lively neutral site home in Las Vegas. But if anyone's thinking clearly that game should be returned to the home fields of top seeded teams as it was in two thousand thirteen. In Stanford overcame, a hostile setting to win at Arizona state. Then again, it's tough for anyone to think clearly when packed off Commissioner Larry Scott seem so consistently misguided even the Washington and Utah fans were booing Scott during Friday nights postgame ceremony. But why so many reasons I'd start with the fact that college football, and especially the Pac twelve needs an eighteen playoff. While Scott preposterously insists that four is absolutely the right number as for the lingering mood after Saturday's big game. It was a time for Stanford's Victoria's chance and Cal second thoughts. There's nothing you can tell our guys right now that will make them feel better said Wilcox. There was deep appreciation. However for a home crowd that finally resembled a big time collegiate atmosphere gazing into the jam-packed eastern stands. I just stood there at enjoyed the moment said senior Maliki McMorris the rumble. In stumble in fullback who provided a few choice moments during the game, you see videos all the time of how the police used to be rock. In that left a smile on my face, Bruce Jenkins, San Francisco Chronicle columnist Email be Jenkins at SF chronicle dot com. Twitter at Bruce underscore Jenkins. One.
