She says it criminalizes homelessness and the city doesn't have locations where the campers can go. Former US Attorney Jay Town Talks About Bill Barr

"Sit and talk to Bill Barr was like, across between talking to your dad, an attorney, and the school principal. It was like, you wasn't sure what you were going to get from it, but it was. You just nailed it. Well, if it was 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., there was sort of a different flavor of the bill you were getting, right? And look, all three are very different. Jeff Sessions had a sort of soft southern style to him, Matt Whitaker is a good friend of mine. I was actually with him last week, and he was, you know, he was in a room he was acting for a few months. And did his level best, but general Barr, Bill was, you know, look, he came in at a very awkward time to come in as the attorney general. You have these investigations into the president of the United States, the Mueller investigation being the most prominent. And then, you know, you fast forward, I think maybe less than a year, and then COVID hits, and then you have that summer of unrest. You have the Derek Chauvin, George Floyd, incident, which caused more unrest around the country. And then you have a lot of election issues that were very complicated and he left before January 6th, but that was also a part of Jeff Rosen when he was the acting attorney general after Bill. You know, we used to sort of quip that sleepy little Department of Justice. You know, nothing ever going on. It was, and I'll say this, Doug, it's important that when you're out in the field as a United States attorney and you're running an office of a 150 people, you got 60 assistant U.S. attorneys as the U.S. attorney you're in charge of all the prosecutor investigative agencies so the FBI DEA ATF, Secret Service Marshals. And HSI and when you have the chaos in Washington D.C., which might as well be half a block down the road when you have that type of chaos. It does impact all of the 93 U.S. attorneys in the 94 U.S. attorney's offices.

I asked for an interview with city manager Adolfo Balon, told but was he was not available. I also asked if the city's providing any space for people to go. That person, Emily Inlow Hood, in an email said not at this time. She also said that the City Council Wants wants to continue discussions. So now city staff is preparing information about short and long term options for them to consider. The community doesn't want them here. The city doesn't want them here. "Very powerful learning to say no, now there's an article on our website with advice and support about changing relationship patterns and links to all of the stories we'll be telling out there too. Now, when it comes, what comes to your mind when you think of arm wrestling? Burly men, taking each other on to see who's the strongest in a testosterone charged atmosphere. Well, now there's a woman at the heart of this sport in the UK kath Whitaker is the UK's only female arm wrestling referee and is preparing to make her debut at the national championships in Birmingham tomorrow and joins me now calf. How did you get involved in arm wrestling? Hi, Anita. Oh, God. About 5 years ago, came across it online, watching some stuff over in America wasn't aware there was a community over here. My partners strength that sleep. So he was looking for something to get into as well. Yeah, we discovered the armrest and community in the UK. So what do you have what does the actual job entail being a referee? I'm keeping the athletes safe. Making sure that neither participant is gaining too much of an advantage, or you may call it cheating, but you know. Yeah, and how do you do that? Because I've obviously arm wrestled my brother a lot when I was a kid and always cheated. So how do you make sure that what you're looking out for? What is the sort of detail that you're looking for? The guys are set up initially. So when they come into a match, they come to the table and there's a way that you set them up to make sure that they are wrestling safe. So their shoulders are straight square. And they're not gaining an advantage in the way that they grip up. Because a lot of the armrests are seasoned on wrestlers and they've got a lot of experience. So yeah, it's keeping it fair, basically. They get a good so much. Now, I've described it as testosterone field. Is that the case? The room's pretty charged, yeah. The athletes train really, really hard really intensely before the competition. So there's a lot of energy in the room. And there's a lot on the line for the people competing. But testosterone field in the match, yes, but no, it's a really friendly inclusive environment. And what's it like as a woman stepping into that environment, the only woman referee in the UK? To my table, I'm in charge. High fiving year through Zoom. It's the big prize money. In the UK, no, I mean, there's a guy who do it for a kind of accolade and theatrical to the sense of achievement. You know, it's a lot of hard work and a lot of training. But now there's not much money in the UK. In the U.S., maybe a little bit more uncertainty some of the European countries not in the UK. And what's the situation like in the U.S. and Europe with regards to women in the sport? In Europe, as far as referees, there's an awful lot of female referees and in the USA, not so in the UK. We do have a few female armrests in the UK. Aggie goes on this one and Lucy horn who's, I think she's 15. She's basically come into the sport and she's amazing. She's really, really good. So we have got some up and coming people, but we are looking for more. And then through the pitch, how are you going to come? How are we going to are you going to convince other women to get involved in arm wrestling? It's an amazing sport. It's fascinating to watch. I mean, you can come in as a novice, work your way up. It's such an inclusive environment that the guys and the women involved. And I said, just strength that you need. No. Technique. It's technique definitely technique and fundamentals, which the guys involved will teach you. And the priority is to keep people safe. I think the worry is, if you watch people are wrestling in a pair of generally, they're not on resting properly, and that's when they'll hurt themselves and break around. And make sure they don't grab the table to cheat, which you'll get. And then what are the skills you need to be a good referee? You know, apart from the fact that you've obviously got the control of the room just with your attitudes. I think attention to detail, knowledge of the rules, obviously is important. I'll put that be. I think that's probably yeah. It's attention to detail and focus because I mean some of the matches will be. Does it help that you are 6 foot tall cath? In that environment? I'm a little under 6 foot tall. As I've got older, I think I shrunk a bit, but for a female I'm quite small. But if you go into Europe and look at some of the fewer referees over there, they're very, you know, they're ladies, but they control that table. It's their environment. And when you're doing your first match, is it tomorrow? Well, I've been referring for the last two years. Obviously, with the pandemic that had to stop for a bit. It's tomorrow in Birmingham. We're hoping to have a hundred competitors. So yeah, looking forward to it. Good luck with it. Thank you so much for joining us to talk to us about that on woman so there you go. If you haven't considered already possibly a career in arm wrestling for some of you out there, lots of you have been getting in touch with various tweets on what we've been discussing today. I've had message here we were talking about a zima figs testimony and Andrew emailed in to say racism isn't just in sport. We live in rural England, have just removed our 12 year old daughter from school due to racial abuse. Chance and bullying that she's continuously received over the past 18 months to school just put it down to banter and have no interest in taking it seriously. I'm hoping that the crickets are speaking out will really make a positive change in how racism is seen by people and dealt with, and we've also received quite possibly my favorite ever tweet from someone saying you can tell it's Friday because woman's hours just had a 7 minute discussion on psychedelic, Arabic jazz, yes we did, and we may well tomorrow join me for weekend woman's hour. "County cricket club is without a shadow of a doubt his words widespread in domestic cricket. He also believes that sharing his experiences of racism will be a moment of change and cricket and beyond. But just last night, azim came under criticism for anti semitic message he sent in 2011 to former Leicester player at each of apologized for the remarks saying in a statement to the times I am ashamed of this exchange. I was 19 at the time, and I hope and believe I am a different person today. Or with me to discuss all of this is nachos MP for Bradford west and Tully McConnell founder and director of opening boundaries of sports charity using sport as a catalyst for gender equality. But before we speak, I caught up with Scottish cricketer, Brianna's strategy on a tour in New Zealand and began by getting her reaction to zoom's testimony. It's obviously been very sad to me quite blunt about it, I guess. Really sad to see the kind of long term effects that it's had on him might very understandably. But also not I'm not that surprised. Why not? I don't think it's a surprise to anyone. Brian or black community that racism is alive and well in the UK and therefore in sporting communities and all sorts of communities. He said that quicker is institutionally racist does that include the women's game as well? I don't see why the women would fall out with that structure. So what's your own experience? I would say that for the most part, I've been quite lucky. I mean, I have nevertheless though experience racism. I know that my teammates who are people of color have also experienced racism and cricket. A lot of it comes under the guise of a thought. You know, at some point, I think there has to be a reckoning. And I hope that this is it where people start to question that and realize that actually not everything can just be passed off as banter. And I guess ultimately ignorance not realizing that you're what you're saying is inappropriate, especially when. I think, actually, if you pay attention, it's quite obvious that a lot of the things that get said are inappropriate. And if you look at how people react and in my own experience, I've called things, I've told people, don't call me that. And then they continue to do so. So I'm just not sure that that banter can excuse all of these things. I think there might be some people listening. Honestly, who will be really shocked to hear that there is racist sponsor in women's cricket as well. I mean, the people seem to be shocked to hear what's been going on at Yorkshire. You're saying that most of the people of color will understand it and accept it. But there will be those who won't. Well, I'm not sure they'll accept it, but I think they'll know that it exists. I think that's a bit different. It's very difficult to challenge things when you might be like, for example, the only Brown person in the team are the only person in the team who isn't white. And then even if you do, it doesn't necessarily get taken very seriously, but the power dynamics of what's involved there, especially actually for probably potentially is different from when it's like a professional setup, because I think the power dynamics might even be stronger and more extreme. And then often equivalent to women's game, obviously, that's also professionalizing now. Do you know what there's something that he said, which I found most people would find incredibly sad, and I want to know what your thoughts about this statement is I'm paraphrasing because I can't remember his exact words, but it's along the lines of that he loves the game, but the game doesn't love me. Yeah, I mean that is incredibly sad. I don't know. I think it's relatable, not necessarily for me specifically in the game, but that's a relatable sentence. I mean, there is so much racism. I'm like, I think if you want to pay attention, I just don't think you can avoid it in terms of in the UK and in the world. And there are times, especially probably over the past year and a half where when you pay attention and you read it, it is incredibly sad as a British woman. You read it, and you say there are people here who genuinely don't think that I'm welcome and that's incredibly sad because I would always say I was British like, I am. I couldn't say I'm from anywhere else. That was pronounced strategy who plays cricket for Scotland, talking to me from her tour in New Zealand while joining me now to discuss this further and Nassau. MP for Bradford west and halimah, who's the founder and director of opening boundaries, a sports charity using sport as a catalyst for gender equality. There's so much to get into her, particularly, from what pre owners have said as well. Now as I'm going to come to you first, what are your feelings this week after listening to azim's testimony? Good morning. So I was in the black community in the room, listening to most of our testimony when a zebra gave it, and it was heartbreaking. I felt it was a real tragedy for cricket for others as a country to for him personally. I commend his bravery and speaking out and the idea of a 15 year old boy literally be the salted and have wine poured down his broad and I think that needs further investigation. And what is really heartbreaking is that, you know, we see when we have diversity when we have, you know, and I say the strategically when we get it right, we have the Morales and the other routine to this world absolutely bringing the World Cup home for us and been the best and this the Queen and country. And yet this incident has really really has been tragic, not just a group as a country too. Haleem, I'm going to bring you in because you work, you've worked in cricket, your whole life, you've been involved in women's cricket for more than 20 years as a player as a coach as a volunteer in admin to what's your reaction? So what you're seeing being played out on all, so let's talk about what prien has just said. You know, she said she's experienced it and believes it exists in women in the women's game too. Yeah, thank you, good morning. There's a couple of things here in the widest sense of what's actually happened here. You've had somebody that's brave enough to come out and call out racism. That is a wider issue in sport and in cricket in particular around institutional racism and I think organizations and our need to get ahold of this. And it will learn from this need to make sure that doesn't happen again. Just off the backing in the last week from azim's statement and then the ECB putting out an independent inquiry survey, hitting the Stefano child. And himself, you know, apologizing for remarks that he made years ago. This is not a person issue. This is a cultural issue within four why are people allowed to get away with this type of talk? Why is it past this unfair at times? And I think this is where the governing body and the counties need to take a hold of this and look at education. Another education was to say let's put a training call on for one hour two hours and we're doing. You've done your training, book kicks, actually, this is how do we create a culture where education received through the days and the lives of all these pictures and administrators who are part of the organization, including the time that they're there. Your second point that you made on the cricketer just remind me again, well, that second it was. Priyanath, she plays when the women's sport and she was saying that you know there's racist banter with them within the women's game. Yeah, I think the challenge that you have with the women's came and this is where people really want to understand intersectionality a bit more is that it's hard enough being a woman trying to get into the women's game. The women's game has evolved over time. It's a lot better than what it was ten years ago. However, the challenge is that you then face. Not just being a woman kind of hit into the sport, but then actually being a woman of minority kind of come into this for understanding the different culture that is. You know, I've played cricket, only at a local level, but it's a tradition and nobody's ever wanted an eyelid that lets you Google for it will go down the full House and have an open ball that you go and have a drink afterwards. I've never done alcohol. And I've shared, you know, I will say that I've sat there and I've had a drink with my with my teammates collected as an understanding from both sides at times. I may not want to do that. And I may just want to go home and that's fine as well. And it could not accepting that we all have our ways of wanting to engage with the game in a safe way, and we should all respect that. Hassam's message been undermined by the texts that have surfaced showing him making anti semitic remarks. Well, if he depends on what the measure in the United States, because I think the issue for the ECB really you know should the inquiry still happen, as he has made a heartfelt apology in a sincere apology with the board of deputies, have accepted that it was sincere and he's truly ashamed of what he has said. And I think that shouldn't take away at all from what the issue is at Yorkshire county cricket, what we've just heard from Lima and the cricut, we should not, that should not undermine it in any way shape or form. Is there enough support and solidarity for what he said from within the game? I'm thinking, I feel that there is certainly lord Cambridge Patel for comments that he's made, and he's come out and his apology was his apology on behalf of the Yorkshire county cricket was unprecedented. His not gagging him to come before the slack committee. That in itself was unprecedented. And these are signs of leadership. And it will take leadership to have the brave conversation that we need to have to get cricket to where it needs to get to. But as lord Kamala Patel is an Asian man, for an Asian man at the top of the game to come out and say that is slightly different, isn't it? I think look, whether he's Asian or whatever he's white, the fact is that he has said it. And it's now up to us as a community as members of a members in political leadership, whatever we are to support him. And yes, very commentary that why did it take an Asian man to come out? But that's why we need diversity at the top so that we can be part of a conversation which includes those rather than excludes. So it's very important that we have lord Cambridge Patel, but it's also very important not to expect him to fix this because it responsibility. I say this often just like you don't have to be black to get raised in a woman to be get feminism. You don't have to be black to get rid of them. And the problem for racism is all our responsibility regardless of what race we belong to, you know, we ultimately it's all our responsibilities. And I also think, I will say, look, as you may think, if Pakistani of Muslim heritage, he has said, you know, the idea of alcohol put down his that was islamophobic. Firstly, and foremost it was an absolute assault. And it was, you know, steeped in islamophobic islamophobia and racism, which is rooted in racism. And I think I'd like to see the prime minister and the government finally do something about recognizing islamophobia and recognizing the definition, which they haven't done for two and a half years now. Halima, how is this going to impact getting younger players into the game? Because this we're talking about Yorkshire. You look at the demographics of Yorkshire and how many young Asians play quicker and just how many get into the sport. So you can see in so many different levels. What's your own experience? I think it's going to be difficult, but if I am probably just going to point on NASA's point there that's slightly disagree with the combination coming out and apologizing on behalf of Yorkshire. For what's happened to a Z, I think this is where racism will never be defeated if the wrong people apologizing. So just on that point, but everything else now that you agree with what you're saying. And yes, salima. It's going to have is it's a lot of trust as many people that now don't trust the game. Unfortunately, doctors, those people at govern and run the game, he administrators of the game. It's not just about the people themselves seeing and reading and hearing something like this and having their opinion on what's the point of me even trying as an 8 year old. I'm going to get through the system, look what I did with the team. But actually, it's going to be about parents helpful feel safe sending their kids to trials and in their kids to call an ID session, or even just coaching. They will be thinking, I actually, how will my child be feeling when he goes there? What will this be doing? What experiences will maybe having? I'm sure this is a conversation that will be going on for a while. Yeah, Haley McConnell now sure. Thank you very much for joining me this morning. I'd love to hear your thoughts. 8 four 8 four four crickets, a team someone's message didn't say crickets to team an individual game where teams can be sitting and standing around for many hours. Mental health is impacted young cricketers need to be educated about the difference between racism and bansa, can't be tolerated. And on the subject of calling it out, we want to hear from you this time about sexual harassment. Earlier in the week, the MP Caroline notes talked about the importance of calling out inappropriate behavior, but what about you? Has calling it out, got results, or was it you who paid the price? We want to hear it from your experiences. So get in touch, you can email us who are going to our website and you can tweet us. Is that BBC woman's hour? Now, it's Friday. "To catch what you need and this process of research answering these questions is cap you cast a more narrow net and really tune into the people that need the message that you're going to serve it does no good for you to go far and wide get lots of likes and stuff like that on your concept but nobody converts we want this to convert so it's gotta be super specific and a part of being super specific is identify who this is for beforehand so axing those two questions helps us to identify the problem it helps us to identify who were serving specifically who they are and then once we've done that we're going to say okay now what's the purpose of this video now again if you've been around for any length of time you know i feel there are four reasons why people are online consuming content you know that they're either here to be educated that you're the here to consumed some type of information they wanna be inspired by somebody else's success by what somebody else is doing or they wanna be entertainment. There's just just here to have time but any of those four reasons you need to understand what this senior piece of content is going to do. So this podcast that i am recording right now for you is going to educate you wanna a process. It's not just information is not just you know there's a content planning strategy that you need to have in place. You should have a content planning strategy. No this is a yes. You should have content planning strategy. But here's some steps to help you get to that strategy okay. So we need to understand what the purpose of the content is going to be. Are you entertaining. Educating our you inspiring or are you just giving information identify the purpose because it's also going to help you to set up that outline for your content based off of what its purpose is so we know who were talking to. We know what problem solving for them..

"Which is the research brainstorming phase of where we go through and this part is done in conjunction so i like to do a little bit of research before i pass it off to a teaching elian. What's done the research necessary to understand if this is something. That's worth talking about So and so forth. Then i pass it off to someone else to get the the meat and potatoes for it and then they bring it back to me ready for me to record our develop or published five. I'm going to decide to do it. So my first one is research and development. And what i'm trying to accomplish in my research and development phase is. I am trying to figure out subject matter. Is it worth talking about. I might have an idea of something that i want to address. But in this phase. I'm trying to figure out the reality of that idea are a lot of people looking for it If so where are they looking for the answer. Sauna so forth once i've determined The substance like is this worth doing then also want to identify how to make money. Because i am no longer in the business of creating creating anything that i create needs to lead to some type of revenue somewhere. It needs to be monetize somehow whether that's my services whether that's do my affiliate marketing whether that's through my brand collaborations. Somehow some way this work leads to end up with checks going to the akao. So i'm looking for one piece of content. Sue send money to my bag. Daily weekly monthly however long it takes Create and nothing else this gonna just be for exposure at is a waste of time. We stopped that years ago. So in order to do that before i create long before get in front of this microphone long before i get in front of this camera i am going to identify. Isn't worth it. And how am i making money off of it and there are some questions that i'm going to use to help him get there. So let's talk about what those questions are. If you hadn't been taking notes this is your time to get out japan and you paper and start to write down these questions and if you want. There's a little pedia on the website that you can go and buy in download things like seven bucks. That has these questions already prepared for you. It's in workshop. Work workbook form are you have to do is go. Get it and fill it out. You can use it every time you get ready to create a piece of content all right so question number one is with this content whether it be a video that i wanna do whether it be a podcast that i want to raise Record question number one is what problem solving. So when i sat down and said i wanna talk about my content planning strategy. I want to help people understand how to plan content. That doesn't take him a whole lot of time. Not had a map out you. Instagram profiling. What it looks like behind create high value content that is evergreen and that will serve you for months and years to come. I wanna teach so what problem solving. I m solving the problem of someone not understanding where to start in order to create content that pays in order to create content. That doesn't take a whole lot of time in order to create content once in a week that serves them for weeks to come okay. That's the problem that are solving question. Number two is who will the video serve. Now you might say well. You already identified that when you identified the problem that you're going to solve and i'm going to argue with you that we have not because here's the deal using myself. As an example there are several types of business owners. That have this problem. You've got commerce type business owners that have this problem create content..

"Hey guys welcome to another episode of her three sixty. I'm really excited to be talking to you today. Because today. going to start a conversation around our content planning strategy in what steps we take And what phases. We go through when we're planning on our content to help us create like these big pillar type pieces of content that we can then repurpose many different ways for other social channels to help us create a lot of content. That's cohesive it tells a story but not spend a whole lot of time doing it so he recently we've been we've been focusing really on larger items right to content mall form video podcast audio and using these pieces of content as connell like our cornerstone content for the week and then taking this content in breaking it down in a way that helps us to create several other pieces of content for us to spread out through our other social channels. So that we don't have to spend a lot of time creating a lot so basically the way this works and i talk a little bit about this in the social media take down a quite a few of you all went over to check that out but basically how it works is. This is the idea of spinning thirty two minutes to an hour creating and then taking that content in turning it into four five six seven eight nine ten pieces of content. Helping you to have stories to tell all week doing it once so that you can spend this hour creating in going on about you live Doing the things that you get paid to do and doing the things that you want to do. Whatever floats your belts today. We're going to start the conversation around how i'm able to do this. I will tell you that they're seven steps that i take there's really five key phases that we go through so today is going to be faced. Which is all about research All about figuring out what to create in then in later episodes will go into like the tactical..

"Please go subscribe some personal youtube channel. I will leave link in the show notes for you. We are documenting our new construction process and once we get moved into our dream home where they're gonna document how we design it If you're incident kinda thing feel free to subscribe. Hit the bill notification so you never miss a video and then share it with the friend. Shameless plug. I'm at but you know we need about four hundred and fifty more subscribers or to be monetize -able the advertising. We are very strategic about what we're doing over there. It's very specific. I am answering specific questions. I want to get as many home buyers as possible in one spot because the next step is to go to brands to furnish the hall to get us to actually give us product and pay for us to create content on that channel in alabama. House has the furniture that i want. The brands are paying. everybody's happy. the people are in love like it's all going to work so that's the plan right. But in the meantime between time we still have. Instagram is still very much a part of my instagram strategy. Because it is very much a part of my personal brand right so youtube is like an extension of my personal brand. It's very specific to one piece of top content but my instagram encompasses my whole life. So it's the life with the family. It's the life with the business. It's the home building process. It's you know holidays are coming up so you'll see a lot of holiday gift guides in festive stuff. Because that's just what we do. As bloggers is that time brands come on wazoo paying us to create for them because it's sapping tying a christmas is always great Instagram's the air So tuesdays i know. My tuesday's will probably be pretty busy for the next few months because estimate that i've set aside to create content. I know how. I'm going to monetize with this podcast like i said I guess we can go ahead and talk about it. Now we've got a brand new Course platform called the vaults and the vault is going to house video tutorials to help you execute everything that we're talking about here so the vote is not open yet so we have a waiting list for it. We plan on releasing it. The first week of october for early registration. That will last for the entire of october and then after october the price will increase. We may have some black. Friday deals stuff but they'll never be the price. Never be as low as it will be in october. The whole idea behind the is to take what we're talking about here on the podcast and create a place where you can go and watch videos to see how to execute this a lot of what you'll hear me talk about will include technology here on a podcast. It's all about the strategy but the vote will actually give you the practical steps to help you get it done this like a step by step using the tools that i use here in my business. I keep it pretty simple to help you..

"But while i'm working on youtube. I still have instagram. To fall back on where i get paid. Add three or four deals a week just on instagram. so they'll be deal the audio podcast for the business is going to give me an opportunity to still get out. Still create some visibility. It doesn't require me to get dressed up more than what's for the week. I can just drama headphones. Put my microphone in front of me. Talk about the things that i love And this podcast will be monetize through like courses and things of that nature k. As far as time is concerned now as relates to what before we get to time as relates to what. I'm going to be responsible for and what my team is responsible for. My team is responsible for the research development for these videos in for these podcasts. I'm responsible for showing up at either recording a podcast recording the video. And then after that time we send it off to editing editor will put all the pieces together delivered back to my team. They'll use the social media takedown process to develop the rest of the supporting content and scheduled out so literally i have to do is show up. I'm a planning for two hours a week. For prerecorded video. That's more than enough. That gives me enough. Time to get setup duma make up give close all sit in front of the camera because my else normally around twenty minutes in front of cameras have a couple of bloopers because they always happen. And then pass that off to the editor for the podcast. Likewise these podcasts. Probably about thirty or forty five minutes. The great thing about these is that i don't have to record during the day like to record my new videos During the day if they are like talking head videos but the wlac. That's something that i'm going to do anyway. I just take my camera on the go with me. And i captured that crap while i'm out and about okay and it's not crap is good stuff but i'm just saying you know captured that in the moment while i'm out and about that doesn't take me any time and literally if i'm going to do a talking head video that takes about thirty minutes to actually do the video in addition to make up and all that other stuff and this podcast i literally can be sitting in my bed with my microphone in my head fall and i could talk to you because you don't know what time of day it is because it doesn't matter you can't see me i love it. I love it here because these two pieces of content will allow me to have four or five pieces of supporting content to go out. That's doubling the amount of content. I could produce on top of the influence marketing campaigns. That may come up. You know dedicated day to go out and get those pictures and stuff like that. It's amazing. I love it here right so now i've identified what i'm gonna do what i'm willing to do how much time it's going to actually take me.

From a business perspective we have to. We have to play the air. We have to be present because it is generating revenue generating source for the business. But what am i willing to do on the platform. That is easy to me that i can commit to that sting number one. If i don't determine what. I'm good at and what i'm willing to do. Everything else will kind of go out the window because be going without any type of indication on what is actually possible. So i look at what. I'm good at look at what i'm willing to do and then from there Based off of that. I look at. What will require my time in order to accomplish this. And what can i offload to someone else. I never tried to do this alone. I never tried to be a one man show. Because i don't know about you. But i am often the roadblock to things getting done i am often the place.

I've always been able to relate with other moms and business Moms and business are really a heart pool of mind because i understand the struggles and the turmoils that we sometimes go through as mother's trying to balance Being a good mom and being ambitious and Being a home giver. Whatever we like to call it. I understand those deals. So it's always been a mission of mind to make sure moms feel confident in their abilities to earn big money. Notches you know. Earn enough to get by. But let's get to this money because why can't we right. Why can't we be excellent. Moms an excellent income generators at the same time. So that's the whole premise of this show. So i'm content has always been able to attract that type of person so i called the hit a freaked out and i was like well bump the marketing agency. 'cause that takes a lot of work. I've got consistent. Clients will pay me enough. You know to keep things where they are. Blessed another revenue strain. "The direct messages that i get so that we can really form a community. I'm working on the community piece of this To determine whether or not actually wanna facebook group. I can be honest with you. There is a group there for the show. but i'm not the best host. So i'm not a good facebook grouper so while i know that those groups and communities do really really well also know that you have to have good community management in place so that may come as a face to face three of the show. Once the courses are in place in the show is supported by the income from the courses. I'll be able to hire like a community manager to help me be a better community manager. Because i'll be honest i'm just not good at participating in those type of environments but i know how resourceful they can be so right now. The best place to connecting go deeper in conversation and really get a feel for who. I am who i family is. What we stand for stuff like that is on instagram. And it's going to in our stories because that's the place where i really get honest and transparent in this way you get to see the real me. My instagram feed is my highlight reel is the best parts of our lives. And i documented in that way so that i can go back and look and see how god's blessing us through those moments Because sometimes and this is what. I was telling some folks over on youtube. Sometimes you just need a pick you up you need a reminder of what's going on good in your life so that when you're struggling and you're having moments those moments don't overwhelm you and you can have a place where you can go back a little kim. See what's good about where you are. That's how my instagram profile serves me. That's how my youtube channel serves the so in our stories that we have conversations that are that are real that are candidate that are laid back That are not the highlight reel. It's not mean made up in dressed up stuff like that. It's just us. And that's why i really want to connect with you. So that's it for this episode. I don't wanna keep it too long. That's what you can expect. So just a recap. Check the show notes. Connect on instagram. Expect two or three episodes a week Expect to get your business life.

Where Does Derek Brunson Go From Here?

"Let's talk about dark brunson because he looked great. He dominates he submits darren till in the third round. He's now won five in a row. He's tear it up. And in the contextual sense. He has absolutely done enough to earn a title. Shot in fact. I will strongly argue. He is more deserving title. Shot than marvin vittori was when he got the title shot. Robert whitaker is next. Brunson could easily wait for a title shot. He could be a backup. He could be replacement fighter for that fight or he could go ahead and just take another fight. So where does derek brunson go from. Another dominant win. I'll be shocked if he's not at least slotted in as a reserve for the Sonya you would occur rematch when whenever that happens and it's not. It hasn't been book yet. We're all thinking early. Twenty twenty two. I'm sure brunson will be ready by then. I'm sure he's staying in shape. He's aware of the possibility. I know we said on another show recently. That fighters shouldn't take reserve opportunities. But i mean. I think they should if they're only if they're guaranteed show money and win money. It brunson gets that guarantee. I know that's not gonna happen. That's not how the ucf works. I think they might get their show money usually because they show up and they weigh in. So that's the minimum. You should also get your win money. I want that to be a policy in the usa going forward. And that's the case. Brunson one hundred percent. Be ready for that spot. He's he's definitely earned that for me. If he can wait. I wanna see him weight. This ideal situation that sonya and whitaker shah you're february the late and then And then we you know maybe brunson can get in there. I guess it would be may probably may or april which seems like a long time but if you can wait that long. That's how i would do it. I he deserves tell shot he should notify anyone else. Yeah i mean. I think he's absolutely unequivocally in the driver's seat for the next in line. Spot behind whittaker it's oughta sonya whitaker brunson then cannon air in my eyes and if i'm derek brunson like you said there's nothing more you need to do your next fight should be for the belt and you hope that robert whitaker doesn't beat israel ottesen it because then there's going to be a trilogy fight yada yada. Yada canadair needs brunson to solidify title. Shot brunson does not need cannon air to solidify his in my eyes for the sake of check the tapes and all that the ufc will probably make the fight between brunson and cannon air possibly put it on the same card is out of sonya whitaker. So that's why pick.

"Of that nature voting organizations Anything that stands up for something in order to influence change. That's a community in that. Would be in alignment with what we would consider like a goal. Another example of that might be a community that is based around education or inquiry. Right meaning this group is designed to support each other by feeding each other experiences through what they've learned. So sometimes you'll see this informs that are for example user groups of technology. Those are great examples of like educational our inquiry based communities Where you bring a group of people together that their product purchasers so they've already purchased from you in their common goal or common bond is that they've purchased this piece of software. Now they're trying to learn how to use it Another example of a common bond based around a goal would be like creation and innovation those groups that come together and do like beta groups and testing groups where I've done it before for my courses where i'm building out. A new course and get students together that have maybe purchased this entry level course from me. But they're going to get together and i'm going to ask them questions. Those of you that are authors that have written books you know you've got focus groups. Those groups are Or communities are based around and that goal is to create something okay another type of group. That's based around a goal would be like a purpose group or support group right these groups you see a lot with people and sometimes there's a hybrid of this but you'll see these groups a lot of good example of this like mommy blogger right. That's a support type community right. We're always together. We're always exchanging ideas. But it's not just good enough to be a mommy blogger sometimes those groups king though you know. Mom's of teams mocha moms of san antonio on and so forth. Now i just gave an example of a group that is based off of a goal and based off of a place in. We'll talk about that In just a second but those groups are oh. There's another one. I'm a part of this community on facebook in a facebook group that are black women that love outdoor spaces right. We share demographics where market segment of black women and our common goal is our common bond is our interest in backyard spaces. Okay now. that's not a good example of a goal or purpose for support. Well it's kind of a hybrid because in that group. We share ideas about how to accomplish. Certain looks in our backyard. But i don't wanna jump too far ahead of myself but you get the point right for common goals you either want to solicit change or create some type of action he want to educate you want to innovate create something or you want to support one. Another a group sets a good example of like a support group. Common experiences is another type of common bond now in these types of communities. You're gonna see a lot of situational or circumstances That people share that they in most cases they can't control so this is gonna sound really morbid but like your cancer organizations and stuff like that. Those communities are like based bonds where people come together because they have some type of life experience that is outside of control of their control. And that's the primary bond. So let me say this because a lot of these examples that i'm giving you you'll see in this kind of one of my points in my things to know at the end you'll see that. There is a hybrid of objectives that the community accomplishes because there may be their primary bond might be based off of a goal but their secondary bond might be based off of an experience or an interest sauna so forth..

"In some more loyal followers subscribers They're gonna turn into brand advocates and promoters kind of organically when the community is there a lot of times when we talk about engagement. We talk about it in a way that thinks of us talking to our audience but a community is a segment of people that former relationship as a result of having similar interest goals experiences or interest that come about as a result of your business organization brand okay. This segment of people talk to each other. They don't just talk to you. It's not just about you talking to them. But this is turning at segment of people into a community of people that have conversations with each other that support one another That educate one another so and so forth so this changes the lands of how we look at how we create content. And how we What's the word. i'm looking for. Engage our audience online because our goal then goals from just getting them to talk to us but getting them to talk to each other. And that's where the magic happens. Online is very easy to get your audience to talk to you right but it is something special when the people that are connected to you online began to talk to each other and began to support each other based around this common goal interest sauna so forth so our goal to drive engagement is not suggest people to talk to us but is to get people in community where they feel comfortable and confident to have the ability to go into these deep conversations without you having to be a part of it now in order to do that. There's a few things that you need to do. And today we're gonna talk about three of those things and then once we're done talking about those three things. I'm going to give you some homework to get. You started okay. This is a series of conversations that we're gonna half around becoming more community driven bursts about engagement in terms of if someone's liking your content. If someone is talking to you we wanna get conversations. Going around similar interests similar go similar experience circumstance on his so forth. And we're going to facilitate that through our social channels occur so in order for this to be successful we have to i as to organization identify. What mark is segment where this market segment is in relation to our brand and let me explain okay..

Many older Americans not getting potentially life saving vaccines

"Many older Americans are not getting potentially lifesaving vaccines. 46% of adults ages 50 to 79. Give themselves a great sea or lower if they were to be tested on their knowledge of vaccines, 74% admit they really need more information. "Okay by not hire somebody. But it s. He watched me find this joy in it As things have progressed and especially as by god's grace the income has destino blowing away that we are so appreciative. He's like okay all rights. He takes my pictures more seriously He's you know. He's my main photographer. Although i work with other people he is my cfo. We have meetings. We can plan like he's even to the point he can help me with ideas like okay. What about this for this real or this for this image and so it's a time though i mean it's been years but i just thank god that we've gone to this place but really it takes. I think it took him seeing me be barest serious about it and not let up not let go and know that this is a part of us in our our relationship also respecting his boundaries. Absolute last one of the biggest things. That's a whole nother conversation. I think that we should have because our husbands are there with us. I think sometimes it's assumed that they wanna be a enjoy it the same way we enjoy it. If i'm like okay. I want to go jump off the cliff. Because i think it's going to help me do this. He's like all right. Let's plan it out. You know he's gonna be at the bottom taking pictures but there are some things he's willing to do and there are some things that he's not willing to do and i'm over here like all but if we do this. I'm not there yet. So i think that's important that we point that out because everybody that's got the spouse you want your spouse to be their sometimes his supporters just giving you the space to take the pictures maybe not. He's in them but he's just like okay baby. If that's what you wanna do go ahead. i'll be here. I'll watch the kids and you do what you gotta do. But i don't wanna be necessarily apart of it. So let's talk about time because he mitch and take pictures every weekend and it has thought because you were taking pictures every week. How much time would you say. And this doesn't have to be like a exact number. This is just if i'm thinking about doing this. What should i have in place before. I started to put this into my routine. Like what kind of time should be creating space four-mile life so make sure that i'm able to handle what i think i'm ready to get into you know. The question is very hard because if anybody asks me any stage line okay. Can you create time for this. I may have just said. I have no time like there's literally no more hours in my day is really about for me. Multitasking claiming ahead be attend intentional. So i plan ahead in a way where i will take at least three. Let's say at least three outfits in one go. I set aside at least an hour. Maybe two especially. If i have the kids involved and make sure i make the most out of the environment batch shooting. I'm going to at least have to post double images with one outfit. Because he needs something early remained. Mike okay. I need something for the sponsor posts by needs something non sponsored also. And so..

"I i was just creating in creating and as you had mentioned for we when i say we because it really influencer marketing or sincerely only is really we me and my husband at this time when i initially got into. He's the one that pushed into. He was like he saw that. I was getting down again. He was like hey remember when you were blogging before you go back. And so he knew that had brought light to me so honestly influence a marketing is great. If you are ready to be intentional and know that there's going to be ups and downs and you're doing a not based off of the motion because the point that has started becoming a job. I couldn't find the same escape unless i decided to be myself completely. That's why it's always volved with me. But i've also always been transparent because with it. I realized that people want the stories. They they wanted to know your story in who you are and if you're not comfortable sharing that there's there's only so far you can go in in the space unless you go intentional with okay. I'm not doing lifestyle undoing. Just business all there. You can do that but you got go all the way it You know in and out saying maybe you've got a plan ahead. You've got to have a system ready where you can create the content consistently and put it out there. Which for us. We know that that's a lot worse here and use our families like our families. You save me him and we'd the blog your husband like a lot of times if it requires a different level of support from home. I speak from experience when i was just doing business. Stuff didn't involve him. It was just me. It was easy. But when i started having the conversations with him to say hey these ladies are asking me for more than just how to create a sales funnel their acts. They're wondering like how. I'm able to work how our communication works and he's like well. No if i wanna share that like it was a process to get him to even come to the place where he was like okay. I'm open with having our family open like this. Was your husband always like board with what you were doing or did it take some progressing for him to say okay. This is what we're doing. This is a weak thing in just a she thing so i will say Beginning he was kind of pushing me there but then when he saw. Because when i take something i run with it. And he knows that so he was kind of taken aback where it was like. Okay now i'm wanting you to take all these pictures every week or You know. I need to get this or that. I need to plan an outfit anytime time and space to do this. Especially in our transitions of moving and whatnot He was really resistant. adverse he he couldn't stand it. I'll say to be honest after why he com not taking pictures every weekend. Okay i'm gonna shoot in and then you know we'll just do a whole bunch of shots then it was like okay..

Companies debate whether to make COVID-19 vaccine mandatory

"Of of the the cover cover 19 19 vaccines vaccines become become available. available. Some Some people people are are choosing choosing not not to to get get it it and and it it raises. raises. The The question question is is were were here here for for medical medical reporter reporter Liz Liz Bonus Bonus employment employment attorneys attorneys now now say say it is one of the top questions they are getting. Asked if I don't choose to get the vaccine, can my employer make it mandatory to return to work? Well, it's very complicated at the short answer is that yes, employers may require employees to get vaccinated with the covert 19 vaccine for health care workers, perhaps nursing home workers or others. Those who don't get the covert 19 vaccine may be a real threat or danger to those around us. That's the basis employment attorney Faith Whitaker says. Your workplace can use to require the covert 19 bucks, but there needs to be some exceptions for medical or religion. That said, however, most people step up. This might never be mandatory. However, an early survey so far, many states report what Ohio has found. What we found is, for example, the nursing homes were seeing a on Lee about 40% of the people who work in nursing homes or taking the vaccine. But just because the vaccine can be mandatory right now, Business advisors even for medical personnel say that doesn't mean it should You see, the FDA has only given emergency use authorization for the Fizer and Madonna vaccines. So these leaders admit when there's clear evidence and months of data collection to demonstrate that this is a safe vaccine. In future periods of time and maybe even the future years it may become mandatory. It depends In the meantime, those advising employers say education and perhaps a few other steps might be a better way to get more people to get the covert 19 vaccine. For employers. They need to have thorough assistance from counsel and advice from counsel to understand their wrists and then also see whether or not it makes sense operationally to require that and maybe if they don't require He could provide incentives for encouraging it Now this is likely going to be an ongoing legal debate. The hope, of course, is that enough of us will step up to get it that air comfortable, so we get herd immunity. Means about 70% of us would have to be vaccinated, Which doesn't mean we still have a ways to go.

To the next. Thankfully, nobody hurt, but it's still unknown how the fire started.

That is entirely different. And it's cooled arms on on this spoiler for you or the listeners are highly recommend anyway and it's called idol ball because of course idyllwild. We start off with david. Whitaker's review of what we're about to do podcast as he says it's a really good idea. Like i like counterfactual history. What if lee harvey oswald missed etc. What if it hasn't rained in henman's semifinal with even vich so my daughter's very much understood the premise. If today's podcast and one of those three we're going to do yes. Thank you very much. David whitaker slash. Dad's fuel suggestions A little teaser of what's come where we are thinking of sort of moment tree seemingly incident significant at the time occurrences in tennis which may or may not have entirely altered the course of tennis history. david would you like to kick us off with the first sliding doors tense moment. Yeah would i'd like to imagine a world in which rafael on the dow was not left handed never decided to to play left hand. All just ended up playing left handed. And it's one of the. It's actually one of the things that i wanted to come back to for for quite a while probably a year and a half ever since we did our rounded out story. Podcast when we were we went deep into his his past and tried to just chronicled his career from it from a very young age and during that process we had been like many other outlets taken in by a the the myth it turns out that his uncle tony had decided that he should play handed in order to be more successful in in order to discomfit his opponents more and we talked about that on that podcast and turns out. That isn't what happened. And we at the time i mean. I think that that podcast got some some great feedback. People enjoyed it. But a number of nadal diehard said cop believe you're still going with this view that refunded. The uncalled decided. He should apply left-handed. I one day. Because that's not the case. So i've also one day i'd like to really look into that and find out what the situation was and when we came up with sliding doors tennis and i chose. This is one of my my selections Matt's produced the referee on the dow autobiography which contains the following passage. I've seen reports in the news media saying that. Tony forced me to play left handed and that he did this because it would make me harder to play against well. It's not true. It's the story of the newspapers have made up. The truth is that. I began playing when i was very small and because i wasn't strong enough to hit the ball over the net. I'd hold the racket with both hands on the four hundred as well as the back end then. One day my uncle said there are no professional players who play two hens. Strictly speaking true. Monica seles did right. Fabrice santoro did right But anyway there are no place press professional players who played two hens. And we're not going to be the first ones so you've got to change so i did. What came naturally to me was to play left-handed why i can't tell because i ride with my ryan tend when i play basketball gulf or doubts. That was the way sounds order. I play right handed to but in football i play with my left and my left foot is much stronger than my rights. People say this gives me an advantage on the double handed backhand and that may be right having more feeling more control and both hands than the majority of players has to work in my favorite especially on cross court shots where a little extra strength helps but this was definitely not something that tony in. A moment of genius thought up. It's dumb to imagine that he might have been out to force me to play in a way. That did not come naturally to me so pretty emphatic rejection of that. That story that we've all kind of taken as just conceived wisdom from over the years a couple things that he's often talked about by commentators is looking like he's got to four hands conventional forehands in in the way he's able to strike the bowl in terms of the the sheer muscular. Rt of his game the way he's able to put you on the back foot from both sides equally strongly and say and he's alluding to that in that analysis of whites useful for him to play. Left

Berlin patient: First person cured of HIV, Timothy Ray Brown, dies

"Cured of HIV passed away this week, and we're learning that his influence on local research here lives on comas. Denise Whitaker has that story. Timothy Ray Brown was a Seattle native but living in Germany when he was cured of HIV through a bone marrow transplant. I interviewed him in 2013 after he moved back to Seattle from Germany, where he received that transplant and became known as the Berlin Patient. Brown passed away this week at age 54 still free of HIV, but his cancer had returned. His case continues to inspire researchers of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the first pioneers of bone marrow transplants back in the 19 sixties. And that research continues. Today. Dr. Hans Peter Quim tells me that what started with Brown in Berlin more than 20 years ago, continues to influence the research into many other diseases. Today, we knew by then, already that we could, in fact, modify a patient's own cells to making resistant to HIV, that really no launch this of HIV effort at that time, and my lab Ridgeway and microbe has really worked on are now using the patient's own cells. To make the patient's own cells resistant to HIV team just received a new grand from the National Institutes of Health to continue his research of the hutch. He's essentially kind of gene editing kind of taking jeans apart and modifying them, putting them back into patients. Researchers at the Hutch have expressed their sadness at Brown's death, but say his story really continues to give them and others suffering from HIV. Sickle cell disease and other blood diseases. But there is hope for more to be cured. Come on news time.

That way. They can access different areas of the bridge. This's going to give Cruz The access they need to reach those cracks. They're going to inject a poxy into each of the cracks. Also, they're adding some steel cables for stabilization work platforms will be under the bridge for at least the next three months, when the next step of the replacement puzzle should come clearer into view. Expose me to to maybe some things I haven't heard but it's the best way to do it I mean. This is what you're going to listen to. On these speakers I can play a demo music of the stuff you hear at the audience shows. Day After, day, but what are you going to actually? Sit Down and listen to. That is the best thing and when when when you say records like. Yes, that's. That's always that's always the most fun for me so I'm glad you did that. Stereo stores are always GonNa have their own repertoire of demo music and I'm I'm no different. I have stuff that makes speakers sound good. Why why would you do otherwise? But you know what it boils down to is. You want to have stuff that you're going to listen to on a regular basis. Sound good. I like doing both I you know, let someone wow you when you come into a start. Let them play a demo or two of. There's because they know what's going to sound good on their speakers. Then play your own stuff to see how you know real world sound is going to be on the speakers that you're interested in. I remember you called me up after at first time you came in here and said you WANNA. Come down and listen to some speakers, which is my favorite part of the job showing off my toys here? A lot of times I'll start at those two hundred dollars, speakers and I'll let the client decide. Hey, do you want to try something else? Okay, l., let's listen to that and and I probably said the same thing to you. It's one of my standard lines. Do you like what you're hearing? Okay? If the answer's yes stop. Because if you're happy with that, you're going to be happy because you can go nuts with this I mean you can go far beyond my my high end room. You can go insane with some without the hi Fi audio stuff, and that's part of the fun. That's part of the sickness, but if you stop a five hundred dollars set of speakers and that sounds great to you. Stop. That's that's in your budget. You're going to be happy with if you haven't heard. It what better sounds like you're not gonNA. You're not gonNA wonder, and you're not gonNA. Drive yourself nuts when you get them home. And that's that's the key thing is I. Want people to be happy when people enjoy their stereo systems like I do, and that's why you know I. Asked you the questions that I asked and tried to keep us within a within a certain range and let you decide. How far up you WANNA go. Term that's always what's worked for me and works at great from people.
