Seattle to see colder temperatures, possible weekend snow: Here's what to expect this week
"Well, we trade that warm sun for cool clouds today. High temperatures low to mid forties just a few degrees below normal for this afternoon. Tracking light showers across western Washington on Thursday and maybe Thursday night, seeing a rain snow mix for the foothill locations, But no snow accumulation is expected, but just a sign of some colder air that's to come later on this week, with highs, potentially the thirties for a few spots Friday and Saturday despite the
Cold front brings chance of lowland snow early next week to Seattle
"Dark skies overhead. But if you look up, it's nice and story for most of us if you don't have some fog in the way by now, temperatures currently in the thirties for most of western Washington, so we've dropped back quickly because of the lack of cloud cover a nice, steady barometer. Look at that high humidity that was signed that there's a lot of moisture looking around out there, and at times it's gonna Start to grow into a little bit of fog for US satellite radar picture shows the clear skies that most of the region is enjoying tonight. And actually when it's story like this, especially on a winter's night, and especially when we've had days on end of rainfall, it's still sitting in the soil there. It coaxes it back out in the form of some fog. So that's gonna be an issue for some of us early tomorrow morning Temps right now, primarily thirties, although Bremerton pretty stubbornly hanging onto that 40 and Port Angeles at 41. Noticed a coma is the cold pocket there. It recorded the only 31 degrees and you can see that's exactly where we have some of that fog growing in Pierce County, so the two can combine forces there, join up to give you the freezing fog in the black eyes. You see fog here overnight. I just count on the fact that it's probably also slippery. So the big weather maker right now high pressure building in over the West Coast. Of course, it's caused all kinds of trouble across California with those gusty winds and the High fire danger in the bay Area and back into L. A. Given that it's January. It's a bit unusual, but that's how it's shaking out. We also have these warmer easterly winds for one more day tomorrow and then as we head into the afternoon to see the increasing clouds over Vancouver Island, Little bit of rain there on the west side of the island to ultimately that sensor for the rest of us as we head into the middle of the week. So with that overnight tonight, we drop into the thirties, especially concerned about Pierce County because of the fog in the freezing fog. It won't last long will burn through it pretty quickly. We've got a terrific Tuesday for you. It looks a lot like today. It will be a little bit breezy in the foothills and noticed that warmth The easterly winds tend to warm up even clone is across so you'll be closer to 50, whereas the rest of us will make it just into the mid forties. Breezy easterly winds coming through the strait in the morning as well to the tune of about 15 to 25 MPH. Will also come down slope from the Olympics and that tends to warm up on the way down. So forks he end up in a gorgeous 51 eastern Washington not benefiting from the East delays, in fact, so still that the false starts to become an issue again for some pockets, including the Yakima Valley at 43 up over the Cascades. It was fantastic of the ski slopes this afternoon. Why not do it again tomorrow? Loads of sunshine temps back in the thirties and all of our resorts by Wednesday that remember on the future cast Tuesday. We started Cloud NEP over Vancouver Island that rolls into western Washington Wednesday into Thursday breaks just a little spring collection. Compared to what we had earlier in the month. This is a really weak disturbance. But then we start really losing our warm Sunday and Monday. That's the best chance for some spotty lowland snow. It looks like we get cold just while we lose our moisture but at least an inch or two possible in some of the foothills by early next week.
Court rules blocks Seattle's efforts to create supervised heroin injection sites
"Injection site for heroin users in Seattle suffers a setback because of an appeals court ruling in Philly King County Public Health greenlighted supervised injection sites three years ago, but an effort to find a fixed location like the ones of British Columbia failed. An effort to create mobile sites. Stalled plan now is not Tonto. Build standalone facilities instead, go with the drug users already go for help, like the Aurora Commons and let injections happen there under the supervision of a nurse. But Wednesday, the third Circuit Court of Appeals denied a Philadelphia nonprofits push to open up a fixed site. Thereby Seattle's plans are up in the air again. This is another wrinkle that we're gonna have to deal with the Justice Department, agreeing with the court's ruling injection sites violate the Federal Controlled Substances Act. That prohibits any person from knowingly and intentionally maintaining a place for the purpose of illegal drug use. The acting attorney general, saying injection sites are not the solution. But the court didn't go that far, saying Congress needs to change the federal drug laws for the sights to be legal. Seattle's city attorney responding as city struggled to respond to overdoses wrought by the opioid epidemic. The ruling is a disappointing one. But soon we'll have a Democratic president and a Democratic Congress, which could breathe new life into legalizing these sites. It violates federal law that was U. More rain, mountain snow and river flooding on the way for Western Washington
"Storm system impact in western Washington, and this is another one. That reminds us the importance of understanding microclimates and precision. Understanding the various terrain around western Washington. Not everyone is going to be experiencing the same kind of weather tomorrow. I'm here to break down all of the factors for you. Tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday morning, we're gearing up for the possibility for more moderate to heavy mountain snow. In addition, there's going to be some strong winds that could possibly produce him damages or perhaps even some power outages. But in general, those powerful winds, with the exception rather than the rule mostly focused Up toward the northwest interior, the San Juans and the northern coastline elsewhere across the greater Seattle area. It will simply be remembered as a typical winter day Cloudy sky, some scattered rain and breezy conditions. We're not expecting any new flooding issues associated with this next storm can't rule out perhaps a localized urban flooding event, But once more in general, we're not giving up for widespread flooding. Young, the existing flooding. It's happening along just a couple of rivers. Still, though, we will have to monitor the threat, ongoing risk for mudflows, landslides and avalanches. So stick with us as we bring you the latest on all of that So are active weather today is finally starting to stabilize as tonight's weather maker pushes off toward the East and now all eyes out on our next weather maker for tomorrow that's continuing to develop off in the Pacific. This is going to be responsible for a lowland rain mountain snow and localized winds. We still have those flood warnings on going for the show. Hey, list River above Grand Mound and it Porter and these warnings are expected to stay in effect through mid week. We also have this flood warning for this good comics river. Moderate flooding is happening. It's also in the forecast along the shore Hairless River. Minor flooding is happening, and it's expected to continue, at least for the next day and possibly beyond. Future cast calling for drier skies into early tomorrow morning, with the exception to the cows to the Olympic Peninsula, where we're gearing up for that next round of heavy rain, it's out along the Olympics Southwest interior. They will truly get hammered by heavy rain. Meanwhile, here into mid day, most of us are staying dry. So this is going tol ramp up as we go into about three o'clock mountain snow will start to form. We'll be dealing with more of that rain filling in for the I five corridor out along the coast to you Look for the bright colors on the map here in a six o'clock, that's where we could be looking at some excessive rainfall wanted two inches of rain in the forecast there. That's not helping the risk for landslides at all into midnight tomorrow, maintaining the risk for some mountain snow, a bit of lowland rain and finally into Wednesday morning. We try things out Wednesday Thursday going for dry skies. So my friends were managing just one more day of some scattered rain around here. It could be breezy, making tips feel cooler, so dress accordingly. We had a Puget Sound convergence own rolling across the area, including right over lake union, the heavy downpours, gusty northerly winds. I look at a couple of the reports that were recorded around the time of the crane collapse. Middle of the lake Agust of about Twenty-three twenty five miles per hour. But then down wind at the center for wooden boats up a little bit Navision right on the rooftop. They're a guest of thirty five miles per hour. And that's typical unimpeded the wind able to pick up speed that's called the fetches. It's able to move across the open waters of the lake the part that's going to be tricky for investigators. What happened to that wind once it hits those higher buildings there at Mercer street at the end of the lake did we have some wind tunneling through those higher buildings up and elevation to suffused stories up. The readings could have been very different that part yet to be determined. But what we do know wins of the time gusting twenty to thirty five miles per hour. Well forecast here, including by komo's the night before we talked about this being an issue on Saturday. I created a dinosaur course, and it was really a lot of fun because I wasn't a specialist in dinosaurs. But didn't we matter because if it wasn't so much a course about all the details of dinosaurs? It was a course about how we know what we know about dinosaurs. And and how do you reconstruct them what is the evidence? What is it? What are the possibilities for what it shows, you know, and and how are understanding of change? So one of the things I'd do in. That course would show him an old movie not an old old documentary about dinosaurs. And how they would talk about everything. How would they describe the dinosaurs live and talk about it, very matter of fact, we like they did this. They did that you know, it cetera. A quick question. I I couldn't help. But notice that you pronounce it tore. But it's spelled spill the north guide. Does that mean that both you and he share an interest in muscles? Yeah..

I think overall concession consensus was that we if you're gonna make a drop you should make it rather substantial. So that you draw attention to the property, but there's other considerations right before agreeing to reduce the price. I think that that would be the easiest thing you can do. But like do realtors actually look at how many hits, you know, the properties had on the MLS. Do they do you guys have like a checklist that you go through what kind of direct mail campaign was lost? Or how many open houses were had at the property that type of thing or what do you guys typically do before price? Well, I think you have to do a lot before you consider pace.
