Desantis is seen as the strongest Republican challenger to former president Trump. But some desantis allies are starting to question whether he's ready as his poll numbers of lag, the governor has traveled far outside Florida in recent weeks to raise his profile. And there is also the narrative going on right now that Trump is the man again that it is almost his destiny to be the nominee again. This may be another reason that desantis is ready to formally throw that hat in the ring. Meantime, desantis is facing a lawsuit from Disney. It's the latest wrinkle in a long-standing feud. Disney alleges that Florida governor Ron DeSantis has overseen a, quote, targeted campaign of government retaliation that's threatening the entertainment and media giant's operations. It's a very smart move by Disney's lawyers. Political analyst Larry sabato says most people don't follow Florida politics, but just about everybody is familiar with desantis feud with Disney. And desantis is problem is most people are siding with Disney, even in the Republican Party. Desantis is currently traveling in Asia on a four country trade mission. Mac piper, CBS News. The nation's highly charged debate over transgender rights has exploded into view in Montana, house lawmakers have voted to ban democratic representatives Zoe zephyr from the floor after an impassioned debate. The state's first openly transgender lawmaker zephyr ignited a firestorm last week when she said her colleagues would have blood on their hands if they banned gender affirming medical care, saying her remarks were inappropriate, Republican leaders barred zephyr from House debates until she apologizes. No representative is above our House rules. While zephyr raised her microphone in the air, protesters packed the house gallery Monday, followed by police in riot gear. Before the vote, zephyr said she stands by her words. Michael George, CBS News, New York, a lost similar to the one opposed by zephyr in Montana, who is set to take effect in Missouri this week. But that one has been blocked by a state judge. The rule would restrict access to gender affirming healthcare for transgender kids and adults in Missouri, transgender people and healthcare providers sued to stop it from taking effective scheduled tomorrow. They argue the state's Republican AG acted beyond his authority in attempting to regulate gender affirming healthcare under the state's consumer protection laws. The rule is now on hold until at least Monday. Fox News says it will hand over documents to another voting machine company that's suing the network for defamation. Smartmatic is seeking $2.7 billion. Dominion voting systems reached an $800 million settlement with Fox after it sued the network for $1.6 billion. Smartmatic suit is similar to dominions, the company also says fox is financially responsible for false allegations that smartmatic helped rig the 2020 election. The company will be receiving a trove of documents, including deposition transcripts from Fox founder Rupert Murdoch and his son, no date has been set for the case it may not go to court for a couple of years.
