Florida Governor Wants to End Special Privileges for Disney

"Me. Florida's governor Ron DeSantis. Addressed on Thursday, the suggestion of repealing a 55 year old state law that allows Disney to effectively govern itself on the grounds of Walt Disney World following the company's public opposition to a controversial parental rights law in Florida. What I would say as a matter of first principle is I don't support special privileges and law just because a company is powerful and they've been able to wield a lot of power. I love this guy. I love this guy. Fight back. This is the way you fight back. Desantis said this during a press conference in West Palm Beach, Florida today. Disney has been engaged in a war of words with Republicans in Florida leading up to Monday signing of the controversial bill, which prohibits classroom instruction on quote sexual orientation. And that's what it is, guys,

Boston - Florida Decision Likely Clears Robert Kraft Of Solicitation

"Well, charges are likely to be dropped in the prostitution solicitation case against Patriots owner Robert Kraft. As prosecutors in Florida decide against another appeal disease, Jim McKay says Kraft also wants video evidence in the case destroyed forever. It was last month when the state appeals court sided with the lower court's decision to have video evidence in this case thrown out under the guise of the way cameras were installed during the investigation of the Orchards of Asia SpA in West Palm Beach, Florida. Robert Kraft legal team, saying the way that was handled tied to a search warrant violated Fourth Amendment rights. A judge last year agreed with that argument in the state's case has been an uphill battle ever since, and appeals courts craft was initially charged with solicitation in February of last year after more than 20 men were arrested for allegedly receiving sex acts for payment in that spot. S. agents virus hit us what I would like to know is how many of those people really died from the virus or something else like old age well it's impossible to know Hank because each individual hospital files a death certificate the statistics from the centers for disease control in Atlanta say about eighty percent of the fatalities are folks over the age of sixty five and of everybody who contracts because of it less than three percent die in the USA Lucy all Asian west Palm Beach Florida do you or your staff bill ever investigate conspiracy theory is concerning people like FAO chief gates Soros at cetera there are many and some of them are disturbing Lucille I never spend time on conspiracy stuff I am a hundred percent fact based now if you present a fact to me or is she you say it's a fact I'll check it but it better be there and stone I wrote the book killing Kennedy about the assassination of JFK and there are no more conspiratorial theories that in that incident nineteen sixty three but we used a fact based approach and I think that's the best book ever written on JFK's death Jim Knox Jacksonville North Carolina bill U. S. said many times if we don't reopen or if the kids don't get back to school president trump might lose because people will vote based on their emotions and they'll be angry and over trump supporters do not and will not blame the president for the pandemic or the economy I estimate about thirty three percent of Americans will not vote for trump for any reason Jim your stats are a bit low there but I will tell you that the mood of the nation will mean who wins and loses in November if the economy is on the upswing if the pandemic is tamped down Donald Trump is a good chance and the bookies the people take money betting on the election have him out in front of Joe Biden but all of the polls have the former vice president beating Donald Trump and the president's approval rating on the pandemic is going down that could turn around quickly pulls right now I don't mean very much but if things don't turn around Donald trump's got a hard time in November okay this comes from June in Louisville Kentucky well I totally agree about voting by mail it should not happen if people can stand in line at stores they can stand a laudable I agree a hundred percent June too much potential for corruption I'm bill Riley and I approve.

"They all were they. Beethoven was too. It's why conspiracy theories exist because then you start thinking about it from that angle. Of course you're going to be like wait. Of course that's what is happening. Yes rich people are doing all this bullshit classical music as part of that bullshit. If you told me that the first company that decided to print sheet music was run by a member of you luminosity I would say will. Yeah a fucking course it was it makes total said this bullshit was funded by an written for the ruling class which is why nobody else likes it. And everyone stopped paying attention to it within one hundred years of pianos becoming affordable to anyone who didn't have a rich friend to give them one. You know the Chuck Berry Song Roll over Beethoven. Of course. He wrote that about having to wait for his sister to get done practicing her. Beethoven almost definitely for release Little Chuck Berry's sitting there hundred. Yes sure. Wish she'd knock it off because someday the beach boys are going to need to rip me off and I need to write some songs. That are good enough for that to happen to this awhile. Think about in two thousand and one in West Palm Beach Florida. There was this Mega Shady street corner with all kinds of drug deals. Going down on it and everything the COP shutdown this bar in that area so they had access to the property. They installed speakers on the roof of this closed down bar and played classical music including Beethoven. Guess what happened? No more drug deals no more anything on that street corner because no one wanted to hang out there. 'cause nobody likes classical music. Everyone associated classical music with getting narped on. We don't know why there's Beethoven playing out of those speakers but just don't go over there anymore we should Live shows the way that we will end the live show is by blasting Beethoven. Because you know everyone just the place out. Yeah and then we'll do a meet-and-greet afterwards like Oh shit. Everyone laughed man. I guess we gotta go by. There'll be one weird guy who S it. Do you think it's fair to say every band we've covered on this show probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Beethoven yes I think that's completely fair. Some will leave learned in this show. Yes everything is this guy's fault I I would be shocked. I mean this has got to be true. I would say almost for all of them if not all of them. Some member of the band at one point took piano lessons learned how to play Beethoven. Every single band had at least one member that went through this process and therefore Beethoven was even if subtly an influence on the creation of the music. Beethoven is either a direct influence on every band that we've ever done or anybody that doesn't apply to was trying to be in opposition to Beethoven one of the other. It's one of the other. You're either following footsteps or fighting against why Beethoven did so I guess by that metric this dude matters but I think if Beethoven is your favorite band your favorite you are welcome for another classic episode of Your Favorite Band Sucks today..

"How are you going to ask a question? It's a simple question. You may not know the answer right now. You might have to check might have to reference it but I'm GonNa ask it anyway already. Do you know what day it is today. I mean what day of the Week. It is because a lot of folks. Your schedule's been flipped upside down. You're working at home. These days can't quite figure out what data's that's a bad thing actually. It's the daily boost from motivation to move dot com since about two thousand but we start in two thousand and five the show starred in two thousand six simple mission get up in the morning. See with world brings you could. We don't always expected to bring a pandemic but it does sometimes and it gets in her way like it's in the way okay. Well how do we deal with it? You know if you get done with the freak out and some people are still freaking out. Some people have really bad lives right now. It's it's really tough for a lot of others are barely even touched by an kind of an odd thing. So we're finding a new place to figure it out but it happens and we just work through a day by day. But why tell you what I've heard from? People that are in their homes these days and some are saying. I can't wait to get back to the office others going. This is kind of cool. I kind of like being at home at the time years ago. I made the switch I. I decided I didn't want to work in an office anymore and I actually didn't work in too many of them because I worked in Radio Section. Walk in and go through the office and go to the studio and you morning shows and I was doing the last morning show every day in West Palm Beach. Florida and As driving about sixty miles a day to get that while one way to get there so one hundred twenty miles a day. Four o'clock in the morning him on the highway cruising sixty minutes down. The radio station was getting kind of tired of it. The drive and so I started doing some math one day and the Matthew says if I drive two hours a day five days a week fifty weeks out of the year. That's about five hundred hours of driving. And then I divided it by forty a forty hour workweek right and came up with twelve point. Five forty hour workweeks driving like a third of the year and about a week later. I couldn't get out of my mind. I quit my job. So that's not GonNa do more and I took a Home Office as I'm saving all the time and putting it in into life and I've had a lot of clients through the same thing so maybe right now. You're thinking the same if you do that math right now. Some of you are going to sit at the dinner table tonight going. You know what I heard today. Do you know how many hours it's coming right. Haze Scott Smith good to have you. Thanks for stopping by. We're going to talk about neutralising. Negative thoughts today awesome show. Because I'm feeling the need to purge them from here's all show you a simple method to To get them out here get out of your head. Couple of days ago. I started getting emails. And there's a consistent theme in those e mails it was God. Have you noticed that the economy is kind of like stopped as pandemic is stopped? And we just don't know what's going to be happening and I love your show. I want this podcast and I want my Daily Mail. Daily Click text message and I want the Fisher Passion coaching. But I'm kind of looking nineteen ninety-five gotta be smart here a CJ do so. Let me help so for the first time since two thousand six. I cut the price from nineteen ninety-five down to nine five fifty percent discount during this pandemic. That's going on right now. It's available to you. Nothing's changed just price. If you're interested. Go TO MOTIVATION WHO'VE DOT COM GET? Signed up right now okay. So are you having nightmares? Lot folks are having nightmares really bad dreams right now and I'm having some weird dreams. I wouldn't call them nightmares but weird dreams. Negative thoughts though popping up throughout the day. A lot of people are doing the right now and why not there is a lot going on. There's a lot to worry about depending on where you are in this particular Process we have going right now with a pandemic. It could be very negative for you. It's kind of hard to be positive. Isn't it yet force that so I was thinking about it? I was actually working with a couple clydes helping them. Kind of neutralize. Those thoughts and a part of my job won't kill. Let's bring it here and the more I began to think about the MOIS. Okay where do I begin to pick up this? Take that I use to neutralize those negative thoughts and when I I really began to be aware of it was when I was studying for my pilot's certificate learned a little airplanes got instant radio thing and as I was going through the process. I thought it was all about flying airplanes whether things like that but I was really surprised by the emphasis put on the health of a pilot state of mind now in the beginning I never had thought about it. But then again when you think about it. If you've ever watched movies you want the pilot to be feeling pretty good. Right if he's completely negative getting in the cockpit. That's not probably a good thing to do. Negative thoughts are hazardous to flying so they teach pilots to kind of recognize in that in themselves. And actually teach you to recognize it and crew members as well has it as thoughts. Negative thoughts man bad for life to. You might be feeling that right now so next time you're feeling negative. That thought nudging its way into your day. Here's what you do number one recognize it a lot of times. These things are flying in and out of your head. It were busy. Were caught up in the news and everything else is going on. Just survival really right and we're not taking the time to recognize what's happening. We might see it as a bad mood or just being grouchy. Just being depressed or something so I want you to stop and just if you can catch it in your brain catch it before it begins to bother you too much just recognize. It's their that is the first step toward neutralizing a hazarded negative. Thought it just recognizing and so simple sometimes when you just do that. Just by recognizing it's a thought. Sometimes it goes way. You don't have to do anything else. But what if you do while number two is got to label it? Got To call it. Something get identify why the Lousy thought is coming into your mind and Slab label on it. I do this all the time. I label everything when anything comes into my world and I just got to put. I got a call at something and if I don't know what to call it or what box it put it in. Or how file? I can't do anything with it bounces around my brain. It's like an open loop that goes on and on and on and on so label it when you know what to call it. You'll know what to do next so when you label it. Well I'M A. I'm just worried about finances. That's fine just label. I'm worried about money. That's cool. Just label it because now you can take a break. You know what it is. You've stopped that spin next. You prescribe the antidote and you make the underlying cause go away. Wash away the negative now. How do you do that? Well say it is money so you're worried about that. Do what I did doing an inventory. You go and you see exactly where you are and you start to make a bit of a plan I promise you when you recognize that label it and then begin to deal with it even the smallest amount the worry while will still be there will not be this unfettered in your face driving you crazy making his not sleep. Khanna worry it'll be more controlled. You'll feel more like you. That's all you need to do. And it all stops starts just by stopping it and recognizing what's going on. It can be incredibly easy to get caught up in negative negative. Not if you will find yourself frankly in a state of overwhelm. It's everywhere right. Now GonNa put the brakes on it. Take a few minutes. All of those steps recognize it sloppily. Bilotta and then prescribe prescribe the solution described. Don't just fiddle around with it. Literally sit down and say hey. I'm the doctor me. This is what I'm GonNa do rectify this problem. Even if you can't get all the way they're just the fact that you put it up on the table you can see where it is John to Stan would initiate where it's coming from and now you have at least somewhat of a path to head down to get get it taken care of. You will sleep so much better. I promise you by the way. Did you know that alcohol sales are up? Fifty five percent and marijuana sales are off the charts right now. I bet you didn't even have to tell you that. And you just know it right when you walk into a store and they've been armed guards standing around the beer you know. There's an issue going on so breath agee breath. I'M GONNA come back tomorrow. I can't I have no idea what I'm talking about because I'm talking to my coat my members I'm talking to my clients. I'm I'm seeing what's necessary. And then we craft the story for the next day but it'd be good one because man. My phone is ringing like crazy. Appreciate also check in industry yellow. I'm doing and you have great day. I'll see tomorrow.

Why You Should Take the Coronavirus Seriously and Prepare

"Kovic. Nineteen outbreak of flu around the world is an increasing economic threat to you and possibly an increasing physical threat. It does bear the risk of potentially causing sickness for you and your family which can be devastating and that sickness could also be life ending which could be devastating. I'm less concerned about the specific sickness. Then I am about the potential economic effects of this sickness. Yes the sickness could be significant. But there's a good chance that in the societies that you and I live in which are more advanced medically. The itself is not going to be the biggest risk. It is a risk but it's not going to be the biggest risk whereas the big risk is potentially economic. And we're going to. I'm going to do my best to unpack that for you so at this point in time I have moved my own personal defcon threat level up substantially and specifically. I expect that there's a very good chance that This Cova nineteen will be a triggering event for what we call a significant recession And or potentially longer term. Maybe we'll get you reach the economic academic term for depression or something like that but a significant financial crisis and unfortunately based upon the way that this is emerging if it does reach that it could have very long range effects. So I'm going to do my best towards the back half of this show to give you some things to prepare but the simplest thing that I would do is just say Think about how you need to think about some of the medical stuff but think also then about how you would prepare for a significant recession. And here I will commend to you in probably re release the episode that I recorded back in September of two thousand nineteen episode ironically. Enough six hundred sixty six how to prepare for the coming recession had a listener that emailed me couple days ago. You know that there is a show season six six six at the top of your of your itunes chart on how to prepare for the coming recession. I had not known it and I went and fixed the problem but episode six hundred and sixty-six called how to prepare for the coming recession of September. Twenty nineteen has a fairly comprehensive discussion of what to do financially speaking if you are concerned about a recession and I am increasingly concerned about a recession. So that's my thesis statement. My thesis statement is there are significant storm clouds economically on the horizon It'll take a little time to see those storms actually. Do Bring come to your local area. There are significant Physical concerns on the horizon of sickness etc. And there are few things that you can do but you should have your alert level very high and you should be preparing for these events at this point in time. That's the thesis now. Let's back up and I'll talk you through my thinking in my reasoning. I find this topic very hard. Because we're dealing with a lot of things that are unknown and who were dealing with things that are potentially very significant or potentially less significant and so. I need to give you some background ideas that you can then filter through your own rational brain to figure out the right thing for you To do there will be some physical preparation that you can do some economic preparation. But you're going to have to filter that through and so to do that effectively. I need to give you some background thinking in my brain. The things that are that are That I'm considering when I'm making the suggestions that I'm making. Let's begin with the physical threat. I have long considered a global flu pandemic to be the most likely and the most devastating threat in terms of big large scale. Emergency disaster scenarios. I've been interested in emergency disaster preparedness since I was being brought before I was even a teenager. Some of the first books I ever remember buying when I was twelve years old. I remember I took a trip to England with my parents and I came across the SAS survival. Manuals and some bookstores. In England. And I use. My money came home with three. Sas survival manuals. And I. I loved those things and I would go out in my backyard and practice making a shelter an emergency shelter with a pocket knife and string of branches and things just practice all the woods survival techniques and then I got involved in emergency preparedness. At an early age doing emergency communications with Some organizations and hurricane preparedness and I was One hurricane came through. Florida was the Emergency Operation Center in down in downtown West Palm Beach Florida through the hurricane sleeping in the barracks and watching everything and That went on during the the emergency operations systems there in the hurricanes and so I've been interested in the subject for a long time and as a financial planner by trade and training. I've always seen the clear and obvious corollaries from technical financial planning to emergency

"So tell me a little bit about your music career because everybody who talks about your band. Hey, monday. Yeah. That was before the voice, right? Yes. Okay. So you already had like a fan base before going on. Yeah. And then you won the voice. And then that's obviously like you on the path that you're on now. But tell me like about your band and going onto the voice. Oh my gosh. It was so weird. Because I I was in this band for like four years ago. It wasn't even that long. But we had this crazy trajectory of being on tour with fall out boy. And and we just went on a world tour, and and that was when they were you know, they they're doing actually still the same. But they were doing arenas and stuff. So I'm like this kid that's never been on tour playing arenas. So and then our fan base just grew and grew really fast. It was almost too fast. Because I felt like a lot of the fans didn't really like grow with us. We were just it was very quick. So when I sort of wanted to change directions with music, and hey, Monday, the fans kind of lost interest and label at the time lost interest. And I was like, you know, what I'm going to leave the band and pursue a solo career and see what happens. Yeah. So that's when I moved to LA, I was I'm from West Palm Beach Florida's like drove to L A with my mom and my little Nissan versa. It was like re- we got there and felt like we'd been hit by a truck because we didn't stop. Yeah. We just went. Wow. Thirty six hours driving. Wow. It Lord L A. It was awful. And then and then yeah, it was and I remember, you know, just getting there and thinking it was going to be one thing. And it was completely different. Like, nobody gave a shit. Yeah. I didn't really have anybody's attention. So I was making a little EP that I just like three together with some friends, and I got an offer to go audition for the voice, and I was like, I it was really serendipitous. But I I got offered to come and audition the the season before and I didn't do it. Because I was like I don't want to you know, take that route. I don't want to be in a singing competition show. And then thought it was taking the easy way for some reason. And then I did it. I went and did it, and it was like the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Really? Yeah. It'll come. It's just a pressure of TV. Yeah. Yeah. I mean with hey, Monday, we performed on like two nights late night shows that we're live and that was really nerve wracking. But I'm like this is like I mean, I uprooted, you know, my my whole life, basically. The and lived in a hotel and didn't know anybody, and I'm singing on live television competing, which was weird for me. I'm not a competitive person. Really? And so it was I was like breaking out all the time. I was like getting sick every morning because I was just nervous stressed as weird things to the body it die. Yeah. I like, I was really thin. I look back and I'm like, whoa. That's too skinny. Yeah. And I just it was like really really messed with me. But you know, I wouldn't change it for the world. Right. It probably shaped well did shape you into who you are in probably gave you a little more confidence in the world that you're in now. Oh my God. Yeah. I definitely I was like, oh, I think that they like me. They sure did. And now the world does. That's I think it does. I think it probably gives you the confidence. And I think that kind of transitions into like aren't you going on a tour the CMT next women of country tour? Yes. Which is so powerful. Yeah. That's sounds so bad ass who else is joining you..
