Face masks don't restrict oxygen or contribute to carbon dioxide buildup: study

"New study debunks one claim, and researchers hope it'll put your mind at ease about wearing a mask. Scientists did a study of the impact of masks on lung function and found that wearing surgical masks and face coverings. Does not restrict the amount of oxygen you breathe in, Nor does it cause a dangerous buildup of carbon dioxide. Experts say they should help ease fears that master somehow physically harmful when, in fact, they're one of the most effective ways to curb the spread of the Corona virus. Researchers say they decided to do a study after seeing residents at a community meeting in West Palm Beach, insisting that masks were quote literally killing people. They found that the opposite is more the truth. Even if you have a lung condition like COPD. In fact, experts say people with reduced lung capacity are at a much higher risk of contracting an infection and developing deadly complications.

Florida: The swingiest swing state in the U.S. election

"I want to talk a bit about how we got here and why at least since the the famous near Tie of two thousand does just seem to be Florida or at least partially about Florida. Michael ask, you first win and why did floor to become the key battleground? Republican hasn't won the White House without Florida forever. So that's part of the reason that it's become. So you know everybody desperately wants it and it just seems to be the self-balancing State where it's about twenty percent immigrants. But you know the last the last fifty, million votes that have been cast for presidential candidates in. Florida. Republicans. Democrats, are separated by about twenty thousand and we've had just about every election. Every statewide election seems to come down to one percent and just seems like every time another white person. Republican moves down here from the Midwest another democratic leaning Immigrants May move into central Florida from the Global South and so it's a really seems to be self-balancing. Beyond those demographics that Monolithic is it a case of elderly white pensioners voting for Republicans, and more recent arrivals from elsewhere trading Democrat or is there some kind of overlap between spillage among those groups? As you can probably imagine it's a little bit more complex in that I think that there's didn't kind of increasing awareness for both Democrats and Republicans that some of the key demographics here you know the American immigrants but you know you have the first generation, the second generation you have the newer arrivals you have the. You have the Cubans you have the Puerto Ricans have the Haitians. There's such a mix of people and cultures and experiences, and when you add to that kind of the New Yorkers that are coming to Florida to retire, and you have all these different politics and ideologies of mixed together I think you really get. Such a representation of both the Conservatives and the liberals in both the US. But also in Latin America and I think that when you look at South Florida, you see a lot of those kind of play. You see you know from Columbia, you see the Conservatives from Columbia and you see the progressives from Columbia. So you have such a makes of. Of just these ideologies that really comes to shine like Michael said in the way that people vote. Michael is the a geographic split within Florida as well because it's the general tendency in the United States and elsewhere that cities tend to be more liberal more vaguely left-wing rural parts of a given state or given country tend to be more conservative. Is that clear cut in that respect in Florida? Well, again I think. Could certainly right that it's always a little more complicated but that's generally true I think you know you saw in two thousand sixteen that Hillary Clinton did even better than expected in a lot of the urban areas She Barack Obama won Florida and Hillary Clinton. Did even better in some of the particularly in south Florida in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach and some of the more urbanized area. But Donald Trump there was an absolute revolution of essentially white people in the exurbs coming out and voting for trump in the rural and sort of farther away from the cities you don't want to over stereotype. But it certainly true that the Republican coalition has you know the heart of it is older white people who are very reliable voters and the Democratic Coalition relies on younger urban lots of immigrants, lots of minorities who in the past have not been turned out has not been as High Bianca. Those factors taken into consideration that I guess the Republican Party's and democratic parties in Florida will have an amount obviously in common with the National Party and parties elsewhere is there still a distinctive political culture within Florida like basically what I'm asking are Florida Republicans different from other Republicans, into Florida Democrats different from other States Democrats. I think when it gets down to it when you're thinking of. Our Florida Latinos for example, are they always kind of leaning Democrat or you know Florida South Florida Latinos are they always leaning Republican as people kind of think a lot of the time because of the cuban-american population I think that a lot of that is is changing. So at whether whether or not, you're going to see more cuban-americans still voting. Republican. In the way that they usually do a lot of that is kind of breaking and and being undone because of the younger generation, you know really having more of an experience in the. US and seeing the way that their families grew up in thinking about healthcare and climate change as more of priorities to them. So you know I would say that the main difference if there was one is here you can see a lot of distinctive kind of you see mixed political ideologies in families. So I've met even candidates who are you know Democrats were running now for public office in Florida and their families are different completely different ideology from them. So I think that that's what's interesting right and what makes Florida you know such. Unique and fascinating state is that it's changing all the time and it's changing not just because of the of the new kind of waves of immigrants that are coming in but also the new generations that are really having a different kind of awareness than the one their parents did. We'll talk more in the second half of the program about how Florida may have changed in the last four years and what it might be like in this election. But Michael just before we do that I don't like to tempt fate too much by talking about what happened in two thousand when basically an entire parallel history of the twentieth century got chalked off by a margin of a few hundred votes in Florida but. Still. Talk about that election much in Florida and Walton immense sliding doors moment that was not just for the United States. But as it turned out for the entire world, you know I think that's a great way. Great way of putting it because it certainly was I mean you know you wouldn't have an Iraq war if it wasn't for five hundred, thirty, seven votes the other way. And I think it's just a great example of. Of. You know the way these these elections and Florida are always one on the margins. Sort of every community matters again at the margins these things make a huge difference. I think. You know Republicans have been much better organized since two thousand and you saw in two thousand with that Brooks brothers riot But but everyone knows it's going to be close and and that really is a place where every vote counts.

Boston - Florida Decision Likely Clears Robert Kraft Of Solicitation

"Well, charges are likely to be dropped in the prostitution solicitation case against Patriots owner Robert Kraft. As prosecutors in Florida decide against another appeal disease, Jim McKay says Kraft also wants video evidence in the case destroyed forever. It was last month when the state appeals court sided with the lower court's decision to have video evidence in this case thrown out under the guise of the way cameras were installed during the investigation of the Orchards of Asia SpA in West Palm Beach, Florida. Robert Kraft legal team, saying the way that was handled tied to a search warrant violated Fourth Amendment rights. A judge last year agreed with that argument in the state's case has been an uphill battle ever since, and appeals courts craft was initially charged with solicitation in February of last year after more than 20 men were arrested for allegedly receiving sex acts for payment in that spot. "Said yesterday they will not appeal the court ruling throwing out video recordings allegedly showing New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft paying for massage parlors, sex acts, making it likely that misdemeanor charges against him and other customers will be dropped. Prosecutors decided that if they challenge last month's Florida fourth District Court of Appeals decision to the state Supreme Court and lost, it could have quote broader negative implications on future law enforcement investigations. That's according to the Florida attorney general's office, So this looks like it ends the whole mess with Robert Kraft and of West Palm Beach Road,

As a young teacher in high school or junior high school or elementary school says, okay I'm done with this. I'M GONNA. Go to chiropractic school. How did you find that path? Miami-Dade County among Florida locations closing COVID-19 test sites because of tropical weather

"Bad news out of Florida for a third straight day. Florida has broken its own record for the number of corona virus deaths in a single day. Let's go to CNN's randy case joining us from West Palm Beach Randy. You're one of the testing sites that are not actually being closed down due due to an incoming storm that may hit Florida right now and the next day or so what's the latest? Right there watching this tropical storm Wolf that is brewing out there. So Florida has decided to close all state run testing sites throughout the state. I'm at one of them here in Palm Beach County in the county they are actually closing all eight state run testing sites. The one where we are at has served about thirty thousand people It's open five days a week they also do antibodies testing here, but earlier in the day. We were here and they were dismantling it. They were taking apart the tents and the polls and some of the cones that's because those would not be able to withstand those tropical storm force winds. But this is one of the hardest hit counties in the state. So certainly, some concern about closing these sites even further south of here in Miami Dade, they're closing thirteen sites in Miami Dade. County, that's the hardest county they still. Have A positivity rate there of about eighteen percent. So some concern still there and in Broward county another hard hit county here they are closing twelve site. So in all in these three hardest hit southern counties in southern Florida, they are closing thirty three state run testing

Sit at home. Get drunk and blame her prayers. We don't have to go milk fucking toews. That's the white people hobby yes and also I don't. I don't like what they try to explain to you. Like what are the different degrees of like well. It starts off good and then you go to this weird dark place and then you have sex with an animal and then it gets better and then you start vomit but everyone around you gotta be a good environment. That's the beauty of booze. It's fucking environment. I'm talking side. We are safe right new rigid rich poor man exotic drugs from nature. Yes Manhattan insistent opioids. I'm a pro I won't do it before the show I got. I got an audience but we we I got high on mushrooms and and I remember so so the thing about life is life is insane and we tune it all out the going through the airport taking your shoes. CBS off taking your belt up seeing them like getting women out of wheelchairs pushing them through or patting down freeway as insane. Everything's insane insane but we have insane rituals that we do the numb to tuned it all out but but when you get high on had much rooms you're a newborn and you turn on the TV and I saw a commercial for Lee press on nails and the check was putting the red stick on NASA on your fingers and I was like the women in our species put weird simulated. Bloody claws is at the end of their fingers. That's attractive to the male of this species. You see the world and then I saw the next commercial that came on was a monster truck rally. It was like it was monster truck bigfoot in town at bigfoot. It's just mashing smaller cars cars and everyone in the audience is like yeah. Kill that car fuck that Shebek kidding bigfoot and then I fuck kind of society have we crafted women stick laws and then we pay money to watch a big truck smash smaller cars road. Yes that's right well. A A burglar broke into a North Carolina residence last week and stole a twelve inch vibrator according to a police report long now five zoned for that was twice as much yes it is the burglary suspect who remains at large. He's still got to catch them. Enter the home and departed with the twelve inch electric vibrator wand couple of pieces of jewelry and it was all combined about four hundred fifty bucks or first off. I thought the whole I think when you stole vibrators was like ripping off a drug dealer like they didn't call the cops like did she bring up nine. One one we got emergency here. They have ways of dealing with the profile but she's a thirty eight year old woman in his sixteen hundred square foot apartment so she probably so she reported jewelry and the stolen stolen and if apprehended the vibrator thief could face larceny and breaking breaking and entering charges to be fair to the thief. Maybe he wasn't stealing the five brighter. Maybe he was using it as a device to transport the bracelets into the watch the jewelry and loading it out. You know what I mean. That's spoken like somebody who's stolen a vibrator before. Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah. I don't don't go bigger than see sal. That's my like the bear at six this stick down the hall. That's right yeah. That's right Yeah Art Parker Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah bears monkeys doing something opposable thumbs you that termites termites maybe that we are going to hate this up on yeah so he took the vibrator up. He took the jewelry but he left all the cats the tax three those cats take me with the ABRO. I it's all I know. They say a cat burglar but they don't mean it literally. This is mostly vibrators jewelry for me. There's no resale per se for a cat but I appreciate it very yeah good question so the police. Lafarge Wisconsin are trying to curb destructive homecoming activities from the homecoming festivities where the kids by telling kids they they need to get permission written permission before TCP someone's house. I had this happen. That's what made me think of you. Ital- aw what a weird world fucking daughter called me like three weeks ago and she's like dad can we teepee my friend's house and I'm like no and she's like okay and then I thought there's a part of that lie but let's really do the man you know what I mean 'cause. You're GONNA ever get that call and six years when she's seventeen. Hey Dad I'm thinking about blowing my boyfriend. Is that on the table. We've got put a stick on I mean I don't like this trend of asking before you do all the shit. I don't want you to do drunk and sit in my office with the door closed and you'd go. I'll gets a call from the cops or the angry right. That's that's the call answer. She'll ask for forgiveness not permission yes. This is what the police posted did online to a little word of advice for the town. They said if children are going to toilet paper someone's property they should. I received consent from the property owner and clean up the mess but they're done yeah. Trespassing and vandalizing without consent of the owner will be prosecuted. I didn't know all right so there's this this thing this thing right. There's two things first off any juvenile delinquents out there that are thinking about t- peeing somebody's house come come out the La.. Don't teepee my house. We should teepee the homeless because I feel like they could use it now. This guy's like mid squat plot. Go thanks Bro Monitoring Heaven three can look so we should teepee be the homeless people in. La Number one number two. I do live in one of those communities where they do that. Shit like the kids play jokes and and have this thing on Halloween called like booing or something but they do this thing where they come to your house. They run out and they just go. Bang Bang Bang on the door and then they jump back in the car and they take off and I had no idea how this ceremony work opposite in my house. I'm alone nine o'clock at night is a Bang Bang. Bang on the door and I go running to the door. Are there is no people and there's no I can't. There's no windows. There's no anything so I'm staying by the door going. Who is it like no one's answering. Your Shotgun got nothing. I don't hear anything like run around on my daughter's room and I'm trying to look through the window but this like an inset so you can't tell if someone don't Wanna come back running around and I'm like they. They took off a fucking half hour ago this. This is a game it might get my daughter's like we gotta go boo the giant on the lead the fucking Johnson's alone like I don't have to hang on the way what's clever funny are interesting. About why is the doors Ding Dong ditch. I guess unless there's nothing new clever I know I know it's a Halloween thing okay so we can we can look forward to that speaking of Halloween. We talked about this. Maybe last year and it's a big trend now in La so I'm wondering if it's a trend here if you have a Pumpkin on your doorstep. Let's painted like Turkey laws that means that it's a nut free home for your nut free child. That's how far we've and now they don't play board of. Ood Speaker of the homeless squad outside. Maybe they should pop the lid off that Turquoise US Jack O' lantern and fill it with that heavy nuts repressions tootsie roll. It's put it to use yeah I don't. I don't like that ah I I don't like Halloween because Halloween is one of those holidays where you don't have to decorate the outside of your house Christmas. It's a little more put some Shit Halloween. Let's you know who kind of the winner families like. I'm walking up and down my street were month out and I see some houses that are done up. Wow and I'm like that Dude's Mary Cracker Jack. That chick is fucking. She's you've probably probably on that soul cycle rally. She's Peleton. You know she's Peleton and gets off puts a scarecrow in front back on the Peleton. Probably that chick got this omelette waiting when the husband walks out. She's been looking at the newspaper and said I know you thought prop one thirty. One was a good idea but have you read the small print no hot chick because nobody has especially thirty one year old. Heidi who are these fucking people but yes this chick work and they're busy doing up the front of that house and I go those family that family winter is not going to surprise. Does that Chris Christie's parents parents. I know it I know it. They're the House that people come and take pictures of and Halloween like Oh gosh he's a winner. She's a legacy. She comes from a winning generation. She's she was fine till she met you too. Good good play. I know that one of these probably bank thing put together. Halloween shape thing popcorn balls enough like that the homemade goods stuff yeah my my wife's like whoa hold on just grub hub setup. Halloween motifs in what we throw them like an extra forty. They put some fucking nine out front or something. They're bringing Taco Bell over anyway. Why don't they discuss the up the front Olga See GRUB hub. Does Halloween motifs. Somebody carry me back to my bedroom. I WANNA watch locked up abroad only. GonNa ask serious crop up to us. Oh Saddle up. Where's the crap. I can't believe the first time I saw my fuck and kids and my wife. I don't know but my wife's brother the kids I somebody brought Taco Bell to my house one bag one bag. It's like I'm standing a stadium my front during the nineteen year old chick just walking at me holding Taco Bell back and I'm like okay. You're going to have lunch in my house. We'd are what are you doing. DOC GEICO Bell. She's walking at me shouldn't have clint ward. She's not trying to sign me up. Thinks is walk away and I'm like yes and she's like here's your small bag of Tacos and I'm like why did you bring them to my house. Because there's a thing for lacy people where you can have you you'd for Lazy. People used to be the drive through window now. That is your general. Aren't you can get to your car. You gotta get in there. You're going to find the key FOB aww push button shift gears once maybe twice a reverse and then drive as a whole to do yeah well well speaking of which one third of American say they've ended a relationship because they cannot live with a messy person a shooting this one poll study Eddie and analysts found tiding up or lack of tightening up can be a major rift in relationships over sixty five percent of people say they fought with their partner about cleaning meaning. "T L, West Palm Beach, Pembroke Ford fears. From ABC news. Michelle franzen. The Russia probe ramping up now that the president has submitted answers to written questions from Robert Muller's Russia investigation. Many expect Muller to deliver his final report anytime Harvard law professor, Alan Dershowitz, whose authored a book against impeaching the president telling ABC's this week. I think the report is going to be devastating to the president. But Dershowitz says only politically a federal judge has rejected last-ditch efforts by former Trump aide George popadopoulos to avoid prison. He scheduled to surrender to a Wisconsin federal prison tomorrow at the border of the mayor of Tijuana calling the influx of migrants from Central America hoping to seek asylum in the US a crisis. It comes as the president is pushing for migrants to stay there until their requests are processed. Mexico's incoming government says not so fast, ABC's, Tara, Palmeri has more. The issue is that already these border towns are feeling the pressure of crowds of people the mayor of Tijuana, call that humanitarian crisis. He's asking the UN for food. "W F T L, West Palm Beach. I'm Ron Hersi with your four o'clock news break, President Trump says his administration is pushing hard for lower prescription drug prices. We're taking aim at the global freeloading that forces American consumers to subsidize lower prices in foreign countries through higher prices in our country, speaking at the department of health and human services today. Trump noted global pricing is out of whack arguing Americans pay more while people in other countries pay less the department of homeland security ordering an additional five hundred troops to the US southern border. As a massive migrant caravan makes his way through Mexico where we've learned that the president is serious about sending federal troops additional troops to the southern border. The department of homeland security has asked for approximately eight hundred troops. They've asked for additional helps by federal law. They're barred from making arrests. These troops would be in a supportive role, providing logistical assistance. This is an indication that all of the White House's rhetoric about sending troops to the border is for real there. Formalizing this process, and we can expect an official announcement later today about the total number of troops. And just what role they will play. In DC news, says federal officials believe most of these suspicious packages said the high profile targets were mailed from Florida. Here's legal correspondent, Pete Williams. A strong possibility is that these packages were being mailed from Florida based on their ability to try to track the packages backwards. So you've got a forward-looking investigation of trying to exploit the how the bombs were made a backward-looking one trying to trace back how they got there. Now, we're told that the devices were all made of PVC plastic one inch diameter plastic pipe with end caps inside was some kind of explosive powder and apparently little glass shards to act. Shrapnel. This is an investigative lead to try to figure out where it came from because many times it may have a bar code on it, and that will help them find out perhaps where it was even sold. Eight fifty W F T L news time is for all three. Here's traffic.
