Mike Gallagher Podcast
A highlight from IRS Whistleblower Testimony Exposes Biden Family Corruption
"The Mike Gallagher Show. They're teasing you with, oh, if he's befuddled and confused and muttering and stumbling, that somehow that is charming and that's actually evidence of his effectiveness. Most people watching this don't think that Joe Biden could be running a McDonald's, much less being the president of the United States. And I think more and more Democrats are realizing it. In the ReliefFactor .com studios, here's Mike. Governor Ron DeSantis has changed his campaign tactics. Now he's given interviews to a lot of people, including Jake Tapper over at CNN, and he always does a great job. I mean, he should do more interviews. And obviously the campaign strategy now is to try to get more and more people acquainted with him. Of course, everybody knows President Trump, and the other night at the Turning Point event down in Florida, President Trump said that DeSantis is neglecting his home state of Florida while out on the campaign trail as insurance companies are fleeing Florida. Trump said at the Turning Point Action Conference in West Palm Beach, we are totally dominating DeSantis right here in the state of Florida. So we want him to get home and take care of insurance because you have the highest insurance in the nation. Now this is going to be a campaign talking point for Trump. He's going to go after DeSantis over what Trump claims is an insurance crisis, a homeowner's insurance crisis in the state of Florida. Is it correct or not? Is it true? Well, I thought we'd bring in a veteran newsman, the great Roger P. Shulman, who has done news in this market for many, many decades, had the opportunity to have lunch with Roger a week or so ago with our old buddy Steve Hall, who's another legendary newsman and radio personality in Tampa since retired. Hey, Roger, let's catch up on a couple of things. It's great to see you and great to have you back on the show. I was reading an article over at PolitiFact that says that Trump is actually correct that Florida has the highest homeowners insurance rates in the United States. And as a Floridian, you and I are both Florida guys now, I can confirm the homeowner's insurance issue in Florida is a real mess. It's even worse than that, Mike, because we lost our insurance at my home, farmers just left the state for the most part, and they're just going down belly up by the dozen. And what the problem is, let's say you lose your home insurance, you have to get another company. Well, another company is going to require a four point inspection. That inspection will include the roof. And if your roof is more than 10 or 15 years old, the new company won't accept it. So you may have to spend twenty thousand dollars on a roof just to get your home inspected properly to get the insurance. So a lot of people are actually leaving Florida. Suddenly they were paying a reasonable mortgage, reasonable insurance. Now they're paying massive home repairs and massive new insurance payments. So, yes, this is a crisis and people are actually leaving the state. And I can, you know, from my perspective, I can confirm it's happened to me as well. My insurance agent a couple of weeks ago told me that my homeowner's insurance is going to more than double. So, and this is happening to homeowners all over the state. Now, the question becomes, and it is a mess, I think you're right, crisis is the right word to use. I get emails and text messages and calls from Floridians all the time saying, I don't know what I'm going to do, seniors who are on a fixed income. This is a real, real crisis for many, many people in Florida. The question then becomes, is it a reasonable talking point or is Trump justified, do you think, in blaming Governor DeSantis? Is this a Governor DeSantis -Florida legislature problem? What could they be doing? What could the Florida legislature be doing, in fact, to fix it? Jaw -boning these insurance companies, making possible guarantees that if it goes over a step in, there's a lot of things they could be doing. It's not totally under their control. We have these hurricanes that come in here and cause a few billion dollars worth of damage. The insurance companies say, we can't handle it. We can't do anything about the hurricanes, but we can do something to make it more safe for some of these insurance companies to stick around. Something can be done, but it's not totally under the state's control. Well, it's going to be a legitimate talking point in the campaign, and Governor DeSantis is going to have to defend Trump's criticisms and attacks. But I think you can confirm and I can confirm this problem is real, and it's not an easy fix to be sure. There's another issue I wanted to talk to you about. I have, again, on a personal note, a personal story to share. I've got a property where I'm having yard work done. I want to have a little irrigation system installed, and I want to have yard work done, landscaping created, right? This has dragged on for months and months and months. First of all, there was the process to get a water meter and irrigation meter and all that, but that isn't really the issue. But there's this issue. I called my landscaper guy yesterday and said, what's taking so long? He goes, the holdup is the irrigation company. I said, well, what's the holdup? He said, Mike, Florida's immigration laws have created a collapse in that industry in Florida where the workers, he kept calling them the immigrants, the immigrant labor is fleeing the state because of Florida's intense scrutiny of companies and illegal immigration. I said, so they're leaving? He goes, Mike, the company that I work with to do the irrigation has an 80, they have had an 80 % exodus. They've lost 80 % of their workforce because they are, in his words, immigrants who have fled the state, likely headed for Texas. Roger, does this have to do with DeSantis' crackdown on illegal immigrants and the E -Verify system? The E -Verify system is part of it. Any business that hires more than 25 people have to E -Verify all of them, whether you're Americans or an illegal alien or whatever. That eliminates a lot of them. A lot of the driver's licenses from other states are not being honored here if they're held by illegal aliens. This is a big problem. 2 .7 million immigrants work in Florida, 26 % of our workforce as of a couple of years ago, and hospitals have to verify. Now, I was just talking to some strawberry growers. We have a great strawberry crop and plant city. They're having a massive problem with their harvesting and tomato growers. It's affecting agriculture, tourism, and the hospitality industry. A lot of the people who clean the rooms and do the work in the kitchens, many of them are illegal immigrants or immigrants who don't speak much English and they're scared by this situation because they're getting conflicting information. So, a lot of them have decided, the heck with Florida, we're going to Texas. Wow, fascinating. And again, when he told me that yesterday, I couldn't believe it. I wanted to bring it up. Roger P. Schulman, great newsman, extraordinary. And we had lunch over there with Steve Hall in Plant City. Where do we go to, Fred's? Fred's Market. If you're ever in Plant City, Florida, Fred's Market, one of the best places to eat in the world. Home cooking. It is the real America over there. Buffet style. Jason Aldean could have shot his country music video right outside of Fred's Barbecue. I loved it. I loved it. I loved it. Great seeing you, Roger. It was good. And the company was fantastic as well. Thanks, Roger. Roger P. Schulman, newsman here on AM -860, The Answer in Tampa Bay, and again, been in this market for many, many years. So this brings me to an interesting dilemma, honestly, because I'm very impatient. I want this yard work finished. And I asked the guy yesterday, I said, well, first of all, I'm not really excited about the fact that you work with an irrigation company that has 80 percent illegal immigrant workforce. And he said, Mike, that's everywhere. He goes, there's not a whole lot of companies that are in this field that don't use immigrant labor, as he kept putting it. And of course, he really means illegal immigrant labor. And it gets back to that question, progressives love to ask this, who's going to cut our lawns? Who's going to mow our yards? Who's going to clean our laundry? Who's going to clean our houses? And so I guess the question I'd ask for you, I'd pose to you is, if it's between getting the work done or not, would you use illegal immigrant labor? I mean, there's two interesting issues. And listen, Trump's going to have to contend with the illegal immigrant, and you know where he is on that. I mean, he's hardcore. This is a Florida problem. And you know, some would say as Florida goes, so goes the rest of the country. But I want to ask you about both of those issues. First of all, flat out, there's no way around this, the homeowners insurance issue in Florida is a crisis. It is a catastrophe. And there are Floridians who are leaving the state. They can't afford it. In some cases, the homeowners insurance premiums are higher than their mortgage. And DeSantis is going to have to address that. No way around that. And I really suspect that a lot of this is out of his control. I mean, let's face it, you do have hurricanes in Florida, but we're not the only state with bad weather. This has got to be addressed. And number two, again, me being an impatient guy, I'm like, come on, let's get going. Let me get the irrigation system installed. Well, when you lose 80 % of your workforce because they fled the state to go to Texas, where I guess that the state is Texas is friendlier to illegals than Florida is. What do you do? What would you do if confronted with that? Would you because I would say that on principle, you should reject using illegal immigrants to work in your home or on your in your yard. But it's one thing to say it. It's another thing to practice it. What do you think? 800 -655 -MIKE. I'd like to get your reaction to this pair of issues that Floridians are facing. And it might be an issue around the country as well. Do you have the same experience in your state? Let me hear from you. In the ReliefFactor .com studios, 800 -655 -MIKE, 800 -655 -6453. "Hey everybody, today on the Charlie Kirk Show, I give you my take on the viral conversation Tucker Carlson had with Andrew Tate. Paul Manafort also joins the program. And we talk with Raheem Kassam about Ron DeSantis and the state of the 2024 race. Support our program charliekirk .com slash support. Email us as always freedom at charliekirk .com. Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus. I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk's running the White House folks. I want to thank Charlie. He's an incredible guy. His spirit, his love of this country. He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created Turning Point USA. We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. That's why we are here. Brought to you by the loan experts I trust Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage at Andrew and Todd dot com. The center of the conservative movement will be Saturday, Sunday in West Palm Beach, Florida. President Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, Dan Bongino, Steve Bannon, Josh Hawley, J .D. Vance, Vivek Ramaswamy, Governor Asa Hutchinson, Mayor Suarez, and many others. But noticeably absent, we received a decline from Governor DeSantis. And here to make sense of it, Raheem Kassam, Raheem, who is not part of Turning Point, so maybe he can offer kind of an outsider's really kind of clear perspective here. Raheem, what am I missing? Why is why did Governor DeSantis decline our invitation to speak to six thousand grassroots super activists? Well, Charlie, thank you for having me. I'm sorry to have to talk about this issue because I know it's probably a particularly insulting one as far as you're concerned. I almost feel like I should be interviewing you about this. And and, you know, it's one of these things where you got to look like below the surface of this. I know a lot of people were speculating immediately that perhaps Ron DeSantis was worried about getting booed or jeered up on the stage. And my attitude towards that was, well, no, not really. I mean, it's a very welcoming audience. I've been to several of your events that people are never rude or churlish, especially to speakers that have been around on that circuit for years and years, as Governor DeSantis has been. And so I started to sort of think about, you know, what are the other pressures on the Florida governor at the moment that might be causing him to have to kind of park, to put it in a mild sense, snub is probably more more accurate and more representative of the insult that him and his campaign are doling out here towards those those grassroots activists. And what I came down to is this, DeSantis seems to be able to hop on a plane and get to a different part of the country almost every day to fundraise. There's no shortage of it. Yesterday, he was in Wisconsin doing a fundraiser with the Council on Foreign Relations, neoconservative AEI donor who used to give to Rahm Emanuel. And he has time for that. And he has time to go and see his donors in the Hamptons this coming week who are demanding that he explain why his campaign isn't got the momentum that, you know, they all promised it would have, especially if you give me two hundred million dollars, which people have done. And so I think this is probably coming down. Like actually coming down to what the campaign would refer to in newspeak as like scheduling clashes. Right. But what it really means is crisis talk. It's crisis and crunch talks with the donors. It's crisis and crunch talks about Iowa. It's crisis and crunch talks about why he's not making a move in the polls. And unfortunately, I think your event is getting the thin end of the wedge there. Yeah. And again, I don't want to play the victim. We have an amazing lineup here. But Rahim, it's I'm trying to understand the calculus of the DeSantis campaign. It's perplexing to me because you have voters that you have to win over. And by the way, we did a ton of events with Governor DeSantis last fall. Our audience is very fair. I see it completely differently. He if he wants to be the nominee, get in the arena and try to assert dominance. You know, buy a booth, do an influencer reception, try to win over the audience, open up questions. You know, Rahim, it's not just our students that are there. We have hundreds of pastors of mega churches that will be there. We have 500 donors. We have 10 billionaires that will be there. So it's not like there's no donors if that's a big priority. Every major media outlet will be there. 300 influencers will be there. But Rahim, I'm just trying to understand the calculus. And yes, we do consider it a little bit of a snub. And President Trump, to his credit, you know, attending is really something. Does it show you that that there's some sort of a plan that DeSantis has that we have not yet been read into, which is to kind of win the Chamber of Commerce primary first before actually speaking to donors? Because what I can say, Rahim, is what we are receiving from attendees and grassroots, hundreds of messages. People feel insulted that he is not attending this weekend. Yeah, I'm not surprised. I mean, the interesting part of it is that so many people may have been coming along in part to hear from Governor DeSantis. Right. Knowing that you would have and he's been at turning point events before, knowing that you have other presidential candidates up there probably thought like, hey, yeah, this is going to be a good time for me. You know, I've read so much about what's going on in the media or seen him on Fox all the time talking about this, that and the other. But I'd really like to get up close and personal and see, you know, maybe see if he's as awkward as people say he is. Maybe see if, you know, you can disprove some of those things by by meeting with a person, rubbing shoulders, shaking hands, all of the things that go on at political conferences. And to turn your back on that, like you said, this isn't just a student summit. There are there are thousands upon thousands of other leading people in the movement who will be attending your event. And it seems like that, OK. So Reuters today puts out a story that says Iowa is do or die for DeSantis. And this story appeared to be briefed by the DeSantis campaign. At least that's how it read. Right. People who know this world know what those stories tend to look like. And a source close to the campaign said this. Well, yeah, you just talked to the campaign and somebody didn't want to go on the record. So they are themselves now saying we are going to replicate the Ted Cruz strategy of 2016. Now, remember, Ted Cruz won Iowa, but also remember, Ted Cruz did not become the president of the United States. Ted Cruz lost the nomination. Ted Cruz was not the one up there on the debate stage against Hillary Clinton. And thank goodness for that, quite frankly, as much as Ted Cruz is good on some issues, he would have been no way near a candidate as strong as Donald Trump on that stage against Hillary Clinton. And so you look at who he's got behind him, DeSantis, right. Jeff Rowe, Axiom Strategies, that whole Cruz campaign team from back in 2015, 2016, and you go, oh, I see, you're just trying to do a redox. And the reason that they're spending more time fundraising rather than actually campaigning, which would involve turning up at your event, is because the consultant class want their big bucks paid out. What is this? No, finish your thought, please. Well, look, here's the other part of this that I've been saying for months now is that they're not running a populist campaign. They're not populists. The MAGA skin suit is about as much as they have offered to the Republican Party base in recent months. And sometimes it's not even that. They're putting together a new oligarchic establishment Republican donor class. And by the way, they're barely hyped. You can see when he goes to the Dominion Law Lawyers Office to fundraise, you can see when he uses Rahm Emanuel's old backers. You can see time and time and time again, Council on Foreign Relations, all of these guys. That's the team he's putting together. And that's not a populist way of campaigning. And maybe he's telling us something. Maybe he's letting us look. I'm not that much into you. So there's this story. I don't know how accurate it is, Raheem, that there's a kind of a crisis meeting in the Hamptons. Can you fill us in on that? I mean, I saw that you kind of broke that story, added some commentary to it. Yeah, that's right. Look, we were we were following up on a lot of the reporting that was done by Charlie Gasparino on the same issue earlier this week. And I think this story has gone around a little bit around the rumor mills, around the gossip mills. And it just came to a point where somebody was ready to report that out. And that's what that's what Gasparino did. So we pick up on the basis of that using my sourcing, the people I've spoken to. You'd be surprised at how many people down in Florida actually, you know, still still want to I say this as if you're on different sides, but reach out across the aisle of this Republican presidential primary and talk about what's going on and what needs to be fixed and the problems that are manifesting themselves down in Tallahassee at this current point in time. And so, yeah, it looks like at some point over the next few days, DeSantis and perhaps some key members of his team, his inner circle are going to be in Southampton, in the Hamptons in New York, and having to explain to some quite quite peeved donors like, hey, where is our money actually going? Because you have moved in the polls, you've moved downwards in the polls. So what's going on? You know, are we are we going to be supporting you in the future? Tell us what the plan is. And of course, the brief plan back to that is, you know, we're playing the long game. Well, let's get into the let's get into the I want to I want to get into the detail about that. And also just, you know, Trump standing in the party, I got in a little bit of a heated conversation with DeSantis donor the other day, and that's fine, like, he has a right to do that. And he's like, oh, Trump's going to lose the nomination. I don't know one person that's voting for Trump. So, yeah, you live in Aspen, okay, like just you live in Aspen, okay, you live in Aspen.

Yes, Paul Reed, many of your viewers, listeners will be familiar with the trilogy. The Winston Churchill biography by William Manchester called the last Lion. Well, Paul Reed, who is a West Palm Beach, posed reporter. He wrote that third volume defender of the realm. Paul is not a conservative as you and I think of it, but by the standards of today, Paul looks like a guy on the right. But isn't this the beauty of it? The shifting and the sifting that's happening. I mean, here's a guy, he's obviously somewhat pro Churchill. Absolutely. No, you'd love his book. I mean, the last Lion series, the trilogy is wonderful. And Paul's a bestselling author that book received rave reviews. And so what happened is last week, a tweet appeared with an Iranian man parading his wife's head through town he could beheaded her. Let's be clear, folks, in case you're having issues listening, maybe there's noise in the background. I just want to be clear. What my friend Larry just said. Last week there was a tweet. Where an Iranian man. He put this on Twitter, correct? Absolutely. Holding the head of his 17 year old wife, whom he had just murdered, that was posted on Twitter. Isn't Twitter wonderful that they're allowing freedom of expression because listen, there are some people who think that beheading your young wives is a good thing. And Twitter doesn't take a position on that, so they let him post

She put the old battle action and assisted living facility and some of you are going around just buy her a smaller house or a nice condo and live near it. No, no, no. You don't even know why. Let me tell you something. Mariah and bought this house for her mother in north Salem. I think in 1994, for like $400,000. So it made a decent profit. Four bedroom three brands from blah blah blah. Actually, it's sold earlier this month for 757 $157,000 more than $250,000 in the initial asking price. So, when word got out, people wanted this house. But in the past year, Mariah has moved, her mother relocated her mother to West Palm Beach to live in an upscale senior living home, and at the whole time the house sat idle for a year before listed for sale in June. So she's moving to a nice 5 star assisted living residents, nurses are gonna wait on her hand and foot, but it's still a million miles from everyone, and there's a reason why. Carry Mariah Carey is always called her relationship with her mother a very complicated relationship. And when I say complicated, I mean hateful,

Liberals like Biden Can Only Play Boogeyman Politics
"Our policies are a disaster on the sucks scale, you know, like a 98 and 100 on the scale of how bad a policy that sucked So what they do is they get you to try, you know, to vote or try to get you to vote for them by saying the other guy sucks worse. That's it. That's the whole liberal agenda. They rarely run on their agenda in swing districts. You know Nancy Pelosi's district, they can run on whatever they want. But in swing districts you almost never hear liberals say things like higher taxes are wonderful. Government controlled health care is fantastic. We're going to confiscate all your guns. It only works in San Francisco. They don't do it because sane Americans and swing districts don't give a crap about any of that stuff. I think it's all crazy. So their whole agenda is well, The other guy sucks a lot worse. So I call the boogeyman politics, But liberals are phone ease. And it's all AstroTurf in all made up here is a perfect example of boogeyman politics. Right here. Here's a clip from O and one American News It's about. Let's see 35 2nd song.
