"12:47 A.m. shots were fired during the looting of the Sheraton Hotel on West Illinois. I'm sorry, West Ohio Street and the state police. Moved over to secure Jack's doughnuts at the relief of the owner that the report says yes, the relief of the owner. So basically the owner of Jack's Donuts was like, Hey, can you do something here? They're smashing all my windows and they're looting everything again. Further report The internal report from the I m P D. The rioting ended at 4:52 A.m.. That's when things finally got peaceful Children as young as 14 years old, were being arrested downtown and or burglary and destruction of profit and heard that that's awful. 14 14 years old down here, breaking windows, taking parts of looting and rioting. A grand total of 156 adults arrested 15 were armed with firearms while committing a criminal offence. Now this is interesting. Because I remember when we had f o P President Rick Snyder on with us. This is shortly after both nights of the riots. He made it perfectly clear that there were officers available that wanted to come downtown toe work that were willing to help stop all this nonsense And for whatever reason They were told to stand down. There were officers who were begging and pleading to come in and help with this. Um, and for whatever reason they were not allowed. Teo do that. We had hundreds of officers working on duty in the city that could have responded in an emergency scenario and helped secure our downtown area. That's what our business owners deserved, and no one could blame him for expecting that and let alone the residents who were caught. All of the folks who live downtown to basically had to do a mass evacuation. Reclaiming take a step back here a little bit because you said that there were eye MPD officers who are willing to come downtown and assist on that riot weekend and they were told their services were not needed. Chief Taylor I believe, speaking to Fox, 59 denied that categorically we'll keep Taylor is a good man, and he's a man of integrity. I wasn't very carefully to what he said. And I noticed that he said No officers contacted him. Well, no kiddie patrol officer just doesn't pick up the phone and call the chief of police say, Put me in the game Coach. Um the ultimate question is, where else was that occurring through various chains of command and that this was just night one. Do we have any anticipation of the timelines of of the next couple of nights? Because I believe only that Friday timeline by the I m P D. That report has been released. Right? I don't have night number two, yes, or any of the following evening curfew was involved or anything like that. But just an interesting timeline. Look at what the officers were going through how quickly that escalated downtown. And Ah again, Mayor Hawks at Boss Hawk said he will always go down in history as the mayor that allowed Indianapolis to be destroyed..

"Google who is the coach of the Carolina Panthers Role is head coach of the Carolina. Panthers Damn writing is Google Jason Talk Soon. Hello Welcome to the inaugural twenty twenty. Keep sounding podcast coming right off. The News of the panthers finally hiring a new head coach. After how many years of Ron Rivera here we are. It's twenty twenty. It's a new year. It's a new US John. How are you doing this evening? I'm fabulous Brian rates. How're you I would say that I rule right now I was one I was thinking if there is a lady ed in there but yeah 'cause I rule Brad how are you? I'm great good good so I guess to really. There's no the real way to enter this without talking about the new head coach. We just found out about. Obviously Ron Rivera was fired. At the end of the season we are talking. Talked about that in our last podcast and we took a little hiatus. Because I think we all kind of leaders are sanity for the holidays and it wasn't like it was any different with will greer in there with instead of Kyle Allen like the panthers still suck they still there. Rush Defense still sucked. Coaching still sucked at mad. At Ron wasn't awesome here settled pick. Anybody would have listened to podcasts over the last like four weeks of the season just because it was the exact same thing every week and it was meaningless and it was extra meaningless because every knowing L. A.. Coaching Staff is going to be gone. So it's not like there's like. Oh let's see what kind of like young guys are to build off of because the main ones like yeah. I mean the only thing that we could have talked about positive would have been Christian. McCaffrey J. Mortgage and yeah. Yeah that's pretty much all we've talked about. Yeah Yeah and I know that there have been times in our in our times as the podcast where we've been a little repetitive. Headed of talking about things but it literally would have been no different from week to week because the panthers run defense suck. They couldn't do anything other than get the ball to Christian. McCaffrey their quarterbacks ex-workers and so it is to the colts because we gave up to punt return touchdowns. Yeah that was a new one. We could've bitched about that for a while but I apologize because if you did want to listen to US pitch about the panthers I I do apologize but it got to a point. Wait where we message each other and be like. Hey we want to do podcasts. And just wouldn't work out schedule wise and even that. I don't think any of US really willing to push our schedules for seeing our loved ones friends and family talk about. How much Kyle Allen Sucks each week? So we'll talk about. How much will greer sucks to different? That's true but it's it's a new year. It's a new US and the panthers went into the off season. They interviewed a ton of candidates. It was actually kind of Nice to see them be a little little reserved with how they went about things. They interviewed Mike. McCarthy several times interviewed Eric Enemy. Several Times I don't know how many times times they interviewed rule. I missed one once yet. One just life changing interview with Flo throw funny. You say that went to his house. Like that's servers Jerry Jones. Yeah Yeah I'm not GonNa make a sexual Tom So I will say that I remember. I saw reading somewhere that David tepper decided halfway through the interview that he was going to hire role yes. He told the local media that today that he in the middle of the interview it went from a job interview interview to a planning session. On how to recruit coaches and medical staff and training staff than analysts and and etcetera era and it became it was no longer a job interview. It was as he called a planning session and that he knew halfway through that that's who he wanted on it that he went from being a candidate to the candidate within however many hours they were. They're not GONNA make sex. Joke connects you. Okay I can understand why though because here in like the little snippets that popped up on twitter since this news broke. Merrill sounds exactly. Is that like what David tepper would create if you could go on a lab and create his ideal head coach. Yes he's got the he's all about toughness and he's got that old school like gritty mentality. But he's all about analytics as much as I hate that. We're all about using like height weight. Speed be athletic measurements to find prospects that might be under the radar. He's about sports science and development. And all this stuff that like it's like NBA coaches talk about a kind of use that analogy earlier today in the comments section but NFL thing. And I think one thing that encouraged me about the using measurements and stuff. It's not it's not necessarily that. They're going to say well this. This guy ran a four point three five forty and instead of four point three eight forty. We're GONNA draft him. He did one. He mentioned one thing that there was a guy when he was at Baylor that they all the other schools that were trying to recruit him wanted him to play offense Ab- line and they looked at his measurements and his his speed. And all that and they were like you know this guy would be perfect as a defensive Lineman so they recruited him and put put him on defense and he was one of their better players. So it's Kinda like at deal where you know. The combine has a guy that's slated as a a cornerback. But Matt Rule looks at him. He looks at his measurements. And says you know this guy would be much better as a safety so less draft him as a safety You know it's not necessarily just looking at like what has measurements Asia or it's looking at that. Plus what would he be better suited at playing even if it's not what he has played in the past or is supposed to play. I don't think bring that correctly but I going to say it's Kinda add onto that is like there's a difference between what like draft twitter and people do where they're like. This forty yard dash is unacceptable or acceptable or example. Yeah Yeah Yeah had one bedroom where there is. There is value in looking at athleticism as total attribute all of the drills in their totality. You just bad athlete that that's a problem. You have everything else. You can mess Roussin Golden as the easy example and and and that's where the this stuff comes in where if you have a certain measurements that profile better for different positions or whatever or to be used a certain certain way the seahawks are doing with decay metcalf yes. Three cone drill was terrible. Well then don't put him in a position to have to use that. Just take on the outside of the former on the nine routes and let him dominate corners. I mean and that's what he does you know. Throw the FE two from the twenty yard line. Fine I mean it's you don't have to excel at every drill to be draftable draft twitter. I guess to outline what Brad Johner getting into here for any of the people here who listen who aren't super keen on the draft or what goes into it essentially what it sounds like Carolina has gone after finally is someone who it takes the NFL athletes that are in in college and looks at what they could translate to in the NFL rather than what they can be right now. which is something that is an old school mindset of drafting because most of the time nowadays athletes who come out of college not nearly as ready as they would have been for the NFL back in the day not just because the NFL's more athletic not because it's not just because the NFL is more offensive driven now because there's just a lot more shit people can do these nowadays holidays so and I'm GonNa go ahead and tell you now when you're if you're listening to this when when you're in the draft process don't even think about falling in love with prospects unless there? Brian Burns you know especially after about the second or third round. We're going to draft some crazy. We asked people that you never would have thought. And at first you're going to be like But it's it's not GonNa be ah like Edmund. Could Bela like somebody you've never heard of but we're going to draft like a really fast linebacker from you know North West Illinois Illinois tech or something and you're gonNA at first you're gonNA be like who in the hell is that guy but just let it play out give it a chance and let it. Let's see what the results are before we get mad. I think a lot of the stuff he says it's tied into basketball again. Sorry don't follow basketball but the Hornets new New head coach is in the second year. James Borrego I see a lot of parallels in the things. They say not terms of like instilling a culture and and then using a certain and methodology to to grow players and like melda system around the talents of their players. And if anybody does if he has no position the Hornets majorly over achieving this year with much young players that are rapidly getting better. They can't inc right. There's there's there's good and bad in that but I I think that's kind of what. The optimistic outlook on on rule is is that guys are gonNA come in here and there's GonNa be a system and they're all going to buy because he seems to be really good getting the kids to buy an hopefully that translates to older adults and those plug into the system will be used in a way that bets vis their ability as opposed goes to having a rigid system in place and trying to plug in players there whether it fits their talent or not. Yeah the good news is is. You're not gonNA see Eric Reed covering wide receivers like Micheal Thomas deep down the field anymore. Because you know he can't really do that The Good News is that Colin Jones. We'll probably get a shot at running back after do that. You know up because I mean I'm sure he saw the fake punt. I'm sure he saw how he fought for that yards on the job. I mean come on the athletes. Exactly he wants speed. And what does Colin Jones have. He has speed that's always got but he's got aspect but you know there. There is a fear that his his tactics and his methods will not work with grown men who have millions of dollars and that it. It only works with impressionable college kids but there is also the.

"Sponsoring this episode of amateur traveler, and I didn't mean to start us in the middle. Why don't we jump back to Chicago in start doing the places that you want to suggest we stop in order east to west Illinois? I think a lot is underrated. I think some of your most fun places along route sixty six Illinois. It's not going to be the most glamorous senior. It's the mid west. I'm from the midwest. It's not a knock, we're just a little flat out here in the midst of these cornfields their stuff in Chicago, you know, places like Lou Mitchell's where you wanna grab breakfast stuff like that. But really once you get out of Chicago town of Joliet. You can stop by the prison there. That's the prison from blues brothers. They break out of there in the process of turning that into some sort of museum experience. But then as you get a little bit further down the road. He start to come to some of my favorite places to whiten Adele, or both just little towns have vintage filling stations that have been restored to how they would've looked back in the early days of route sixty six now when you pull into people run outside to change check your oil and fill you up. They do not guarantee if you needed it. Somebody would okay. These are the kind of places where it's just amazing that we'll talk about this Moore's we get into this. But there's the people are just as important as the play. Which is what makes us unique a unique road trip before we go too far. I realized we left out something for people who don't know the story, and we do have people who are listening internationally who wouldn't necessarily. If you've seen cars you've picked up on this already that one of the big changes between route sixty six and the interstates that largely replaced it in terms of holding all the traffic was that the interstates. They wanted to get you there quickly. And so they stopped going through the little towns and bypassing them as you said, maybe just a couple of miles away. But with the route sixty six you ended up at the stoplight at main street, which is a different experience a slower experience it now the all the business went from main street to whatever filling station happened to be at the exit of the interstate. And so a lot of these towns did start to lose that business and and somewhat decay in places. So it's nice to hear places like Dwight you're saying restoring some of that. Vintage architecture and experience go in just talk about it. Now, even though it's it's way out near Zona. We really it. You're gonna do what I'm doing. If we're doing the backstory, I've got to tell you about the man we call the angel of the route. So it's a barber named angel out in this little town called Soliven Arizona he'd been Barbara their whole life. His brother ran the little drive in their in town. This whole family was there after the interstate pass them by after I forty went by him there. The town was so poor that couldn't turn it street lights on. And he literally watched from the window of his route sixty six barbershop. He just he watched everything die and he was forced with a decision. Do I approve my entire family from the place that we've called home? Do I do something about it? And he did something about it. He formed the very first route sixty six association any told everybody said people will come back if we make this a tourist destination, and he was right? So he showed everybody else how to do it. And we really we call him the angel the route he's in his nineties. Now, his barbershop is more of a gift shop now. He's credited largely with being a big reason that route sixty six is again, thriving. He was one of the main consultants on the movie cars. So for me. That's the back story of how it came to be thing. Again, MS they knew that people would want to just as the movie says instead of driving to make great time. They drove to have a great time. So it really was that in real life. So. Yeah. Back in Illinois, one of my favorite towns town, called Pontiac, Illinois, small city, actually, so Pontiac has a few different unique things. I they have the Illinois route sixty six museum in hall of fame..

"I'm sure have different versions. But even from a screening standpoint that they could be you'd have one tool that is so good in both yet. There is fortuitous. Yeah, they're good tools. And then so after if there's an abnormality in the P H I R four K score. Then I moved to an MRI. And then there's been good day. Can you just because I mean, we talk we geek out on this stuff because I'm super nerdy about what type of MRI to do for what thing, but for a patient listening to this Ted who's going to go to their doctor, and whose doctor is hopefully cooperative enough. What do you recommend because not all Emmys doing the trick here? Yeah. I mean on paper what you want a multi parametric prostate MRI, the most important phase the most important parameter in the multi parametric MRI is actually the diffusion weighted imaging which is the most operators dependent. So it really requires a skilled technician and escape. Killed interpreter. Radiologist to look at those DWI images, that's the most important one. So we do get patients contrast. But people showing you can get a lot of value out of just non contrast DWI based the one we use. No contrast, but it's their DWI's exceptional. I've sent you the images I think if they're Schaefer approved I'm happy. They're very good. Yeah. T one t two DWI an multiplayer MR is if you're listening to that. And if you and if your doctor refuses that I think those are the kinds of things that make me think you need another doctor because at this point and look your insurance might not cover. You may have to foot the Bill for that. And that's that's horrible. Well, wouldn't cover that? That was true. But there's recently reported a large multinational prospective clinical trial, looking at the utility of Mariah used for screening for prostate cancer. And the study was half the men got an MRI of their suspicious lesion. They got that lesion biopsy. And they increase detection of high grade cancer reduce it over. Detection of low grade prostate cancer. So it was a quote, unquote, positive study. We haven't had problems in the mid west Illinois getting 'em is approved. But that randomized trial based out of reported out of the UK that really has changed a lot about what companies are approving for Moore is for screening so rate to here. So so if somebody has an MRI if there's an Adra malady on the MRI, I'll recommend a biopsy. Now, there's a lot of data that says you shouldn't just sample the suspicious lesion that you should do the suspicious lesion plus doing a Sexton. Bob Sierra, kind of what I tell patients is right left top middle bottom that adds value. Not just in the detection of cancer. But if someone is gonna move to surgery, for example, and I don't do a biopsy in ninety year old guy. Even if they have an abnormal Marai, do it. If I think that person's gonna live a long long enough to benefit from treatment in those scenarios. I do those systematic by because I want to know exactly where the extent of the cancer and one of the problems of them arise it it doesn't. Actually, see the true boundaries are true. Borders of the tumors within the prostate, very well. So they're often especially the DWI because it's not really an anatomic. Yes. The way a t one way to images traffic. So if you take if you take the lesion on T to for example, it often under sizes the tumor by between five and ten millimeters. So pretty significant for prostate, which is generally pretty small. So so I do those to get a better roadmap..
