NBA Trade Deadline Instant Reactions
"Got chris ryan who Is on the back end of one of the biggest pump. Fakes of the season Kyle lowry is stained. Put in toronto for the time being and that means that he is not going to the hometown. Sixers guys will share a hometown. How do you feel right now. That cao lowry is staying. Put and all that stuff that we heard that the sixers were going to go after him. The lakers were going. After miami was in the mix there was so many teams in the mix for kyle lowry. What do you feel that. He is not going to your hometown. We also got kyle lowry crying on camera last night waving goodbye to toronto aka tampa so this is a very strange story. They orchestrated this whole thing to make you feel like this was an inevitability. I was never really that confident that we were going to get lower that the sixers were gonna get larry for as much as i would love to see him. Return nova graduate high school basketball legend. That the sixers windows being a compressed a little bit by the media not to blame the media for anything which we are a part of. But i do think that the media ruins podcast right now after everything that we have gone through right now are you are you. All i'm saying is that like it doesn't all have to happen today. And i think what the the move that they did make by acquiring george hill for basically for tony bradley and like some some. Some add-ons is like exactly the move that they needed to make if they weren't going to get lower they got some outside shooting. Got somebody who could probably close games with the steph. Curry ben simmons tobias harris. Joel embiid lineup. Assuming everybody's healthy here's the thing. Logan everybody in sixers is feeling really good about the sixers right now. There's a job here. Beaten up the west coast without embiid. So i i'm not. I'm not that upset about it.
Iceland is open for business
"Is for business for us residents but only as far as iceland. You can't can't use it as a as a transit point still. I think it's Steven i think you were the one that the tag the story i think it's Interesting premature but a little surprising. Yeah i think i was. I was talking with the guys about this in someone who said this is already. It's already open like their areas. Yeah yeah of bloggers that we know andy from any travel blog is already. They're taking pictures of the volcanic eruption. Yeah which i mean. It's fascinating because they've they've said it wasn't gonna happen till the twenty six. I believe of this this month. so i guess they're just like you know whatever I to me. It raises some interesting questions about one. What's it take to get in. I think posted. He just used his quarantine card which doesn't match up with like saint. Hard of sight says vaccine card Which doesn't match up with what the government website says. the website is basically the who yellowcard From dr That doesn't sound like that's the case And i wonder how quickly it can become inundated. It's really hard to get there right now from the united states. Yes no one's flying nonstop from the us An icelandair isn't starting up flights from most of their west coast or central us destinations until the summer. So everything's the europe. So i don't know how andy got there but I i would be fascinated. I'm gonna be now to yeah. I wonder how we get there. I mean but don't forget. The wizz air flight landed as that volcanoes. Erupting so know. There's definitely options. What's the other thing too. Now there's a volcano and it's causing headaches for flights departing in writing and it looked. I mean you know. I heard that there was an option. And i saw some of the pictures i wouldn't say it's like massive. Mount edna style. Just shepherd seems pretty sizable. I do wonder if we're going to have some of the issues that we had too many years ago with. Obviously that's a fairly big chunk of the airspace to get from the us europe. I guess guess so few flights right now. Maybe it's not as big an issue to reroute folks. I was. I was secretly hoping we're gonna try to pronounce that old volcano on the show. No no no no no no remember. This is a scripted show. Oh wait yeah. I mean i think you know right now. It seems like it's a pretty tame volcano and so i know there's been some ash cloud kind of re routes around that southern parts of iceland. Because it's really close to reykjavik is where the volcano and so i know there's been some rewrites but i haven't seen anything major stopping traffic going to europe. So which is which is good.
Kurt Becker's Stroll Through Racing History: Grindstone
"Only made six career starts but one of them resulted in a victory in the kentucky derby and burst onto the racing. Cd twenty five years ago this month with a win in the louisiana derby. His name was grindstone. A foal from the first crop of nineteen ninety kentucky derby winner dreidel rhinestones was owned and bred by lexington kentucky. Native william tian in the name of his overbrook farm center d wayne lukas grindstone raced twice as juvenile before undergoing surgery for a bone chip in a knee. But after a seven month layoff. Rhinestone was dispatched the two to one second choice behind local favorites arbs magic and it was arbs. Maverick stood and rhinestones way in the final furlong. Tony bentley had. The call takes me puts up. Magic hangs on the inside but it will be grindstone with the lead and sar magic. Grindstone when bill. Louisiana derby by war with terry daily with these victory that day grindstone was now part of discussions for the upcoming kentucky derby but he was lightly raced and no winner of the louisiana derby had won the kentucky. Derby splash gold. In nineteen twenty four grindstone stone would have one more prep race before heading to churchill downs. It would be the arkansas derby on april thirteen. It would be step up to a great two and a stretch out to a mile. An eight rhinestone would enter the starting gate as the eight to five favorite at once again. He would have to deal with the magic in the stretch. Terry wallace brings them home. Describe magic magic comes back. Takes at the magic of turn upset. Rhinestone was only eaten the neck that day but he would be heading to the kentucky derby with a lot of questions surrounding for one thing. Rhinestone had only made five career starts. No horse had won the kentucky. Derby on five starts or less since brokers tip in nineteen thirty-three for another. He wasn't even necessarily the best in these trainers d wayne. Lukas would be sending record. Five horses to the derby and lucas himself was reluctant to rank one above another. As for the rest of the lineup there was unbridled som- who would be the post time favorite. There was avenir from the west coast being trapped by a young trainer. By the name of bob baffert. There were skip away. Who had just set a stakes record in the bluegrass at keeneland. On the first saturday in may nineteen ninety-six. Rhinestone would have to overcome history. He would have to overcome highly talented and more experienced bows and he would have to make a furious. Run in the final furlong. But jockey jerry. Bailey had him in high gear. Dave johnson of abc sports with the goal of cracked late cabinet on the side of town. And here's optima to guide wasn't cabin on the inside was it baby. Mcquaid noted in the top urban grindstone and hit the wire together and it took five minutes for the placing judges to confirm the result of that photo. Finish but the winner of the one hundred twenty second run for the roses was grindstone. As one sports writer. Put it the kentucky. Lucas announced that grindstone had been retired from racing. Following the discovery of another bone chip in the colts need may grindstone the first horse and seventy years to be retired immediately following win in the kentucky derby but he also has become the first horse in seventy two years to win both the louisiana derby and the kentucky derby he had won the first million dollar kentucky derby in history he had given lucas consecutive win and a triple crown race and he had made. Wt young kentucky derby winning owner and brief. I was never proud to stand next to mr young said lucas. Adding this is absolutely the happiest. I've ever been in my life. As a stallion grindstone would become the sire of belmont winter bird stone and the grand sire of classic winners mine that bird and summer bird following his stallion career in kentucky he would relocate to oregon and twenty ten where he would sire more stakes winners in the pacific northwest but the legacy of brian stone began twenty five years ago. The U.S. Has A History Of Linking Disease With Race And Ethnicity
"Okay. So today we're talking about the suspicion and harassment of asians and asian americans as the krona virus spreads and this kind of fear actually has a long history in the united states right gene a very long history and actually what we learned from. Eric lee is that the seeds of this discourse of china and asia being unsanitary and crowded those seeds were planted long before chinese immigration to the us the teeming hordes of millions living in health and then as americans who travel to china and then came back to the united states. They spread those ideas. Unfortunate the own brand for the us low so right in the mid eighteen hundreds you have the first waves of chinese immigrants coming over to find fortune in the california gold rush and they also become a source of cheap labor working as farmhands building railroads etc and eventually this becomes a source of tension. Exactly so when the domestic economy takes a downturn different immigrant groups start competing for these previously undesirable jobs and you start seeing harassment even massacres of chinese workers but erica says that the idea of chinese immigrants being dirty and disease. That's still with us. We know from the very beginning As americans in general are starting to debate the so-called problem of chinese immigration. They are explicitly tying china chinese people chinese spaces with disease and contagion. Historians have shown that the rhetoric is about chinatown as plague spots as pools of laboratories of infection. Erica says that way back. In the late nineteenth century we really started to see specific policies that reflect this thinking around chinese as a threat to public. Oh okay give me an example of that. So erica told us about quarantine that happened in one thousand nine hundred in san francisco when the discovery bluebonnets plague in chinatown Bannock plague that's a potential deadly bacterial. Disease the black death right. People believe rats. Broad across the pacific steamship was unlikely. Source of the disease. Erica says san francisco officials at the time. Saw the chinese immigrants as vermin infested. So all of chinatown was placed under quarantine. And there were these periodic. Campaigns to quote disinfect chinatown flooding basements in that district with acid washing the walls with lie tearing down old buildings that rhetoric by the way erica says has been applied to a lot of immigrant groups throughout history but there is a particular way in which it has been racialized with chinese chinese as dog eaters as eaters of weird and strange animals including rats and mice and that they if they are eating and consuming rats that are known to spread disease than chinese people as a race are also carriers of disease so what happened then was. San francisco's quarantine. So the plague became racialized blamed on a group of people. The city ordered an immediate quarantine of chinatown with orders to remove all whites from the affected area so so white. Residents of san francisco were ordered to leave chinatown but chinese people could not. It's such an intense thing to know and accept this history and realize it's been with us for a really long time. It's been with us. And we haven't really grappled with all of this of course is happening against the backdrop of the chinese exclusion act which was passed in eighteen. Eighty two and it prevented chinese laborers from entering the united states. Which this time of heightened anti-chinese rhetoric and sentiment that law would actually mark the first time the u. has banned the immigration of an entire ethnic group. So when you and your co hosts shreen. Marcel marashi spoke to eric harley. Eric told you a very personal story about her grandfather. And what happened to him when he immigrated to the us and it's really relevant to what we're talking about today so erica's grandfather came to the us through angel island right angel island. It's the ellis island of the west coast. It was in san francisco bay and there was this whole special system of scrutiny for chinese immigrants in particular so erica's grandfather like so. Many chinese immigrants angel island was pulled aside and inspected separately from other asian immigrants because people believe that chinese immigrants were carriers of disease. What a way to come into a country and she said that her grandfather never told her that story directly but she was interested in it and because she's historian she actually took the records of her grandparents interogations and specifically. She found her grandfather's medical exam from angel. It was it was nothing like anything. I've read before. Immigration officials ordered my grandfather to be subjected to the most invasive medical exam that i've seen in hundreds of these records so they had the medical doctor at angel island examined him for for diseases but also to measure every aspect of his body. His teeth his his genitals his. You know it's a his height to determine what age he was to determine weather his claim of being seventeen when he was immigrating was actually true and they included just all of these detailed notes in a record and it was. It was quite shocking to read. That's really just I mean i hear the story. And i think it's important at a time like this to hear stories like this so We've been talking specifically about chinese immigration but as you mentioned earlier this history of public health and hygiene efforts and how it gets mixed up with race and ethnicity. It's also happened to other immigrant. Groups right i mean. This is something that erica talks about a lot in her book which is of course about xenophobia in the united states but it wasn't just chinese immigrants who were being targeted in this way. I mean if you look at what was happening around the same time on the southern border mexican immigrants. The us were being treated very similarly. This is one of the ways in which to phobia works. It's it uses an already existing playbook certain immigrants are are threats there there threats because they bring crime also because they take away jobs but also because they they are starting genetically carriers of disease. And surprise american policymakers setup immigration procedures for mexicans. That looked a lot like what was happening to the chinese. On the west coast and when mexican immigrants arrived across the border they were routinely subjected to invasive humiliating and harmful disinfecting baths using pesticides to route out laos but also to cleanse mexican people's their clothing and their baggage before entering the united states. I mean just the fact that mexicans were seen as carrying disease in the same way that chinese were and that this pattern is repeated. Is really interesting. This is much harsher. Then what happened at ellis island where european immigrants certainly faced scrutiny. But the the medical exams were known as six second physicals and chinese people in particular. Still carry around that stigma. And we're seeing that procession playoff when it comes to corona virus. Absolutely i you know. We're exile eighty and fear out there right now about getting sick. That is getting tangled up in this legacy and you know. I'm picturing who are listening to this and they're thinking yes. This history is real. I know this sounds really bad. But i'm just worried about eating at a chinese restaurant gene and emily just buried and i i just. I'm worried about sitting next to someone who is asian. what do i do. That's not how disease works. We actually put this question to erica and she said With each headline with each new case with each new bizarre choice of photo for a new story lines the flames of anxiety right now in the us but racist scapegoating and outright discrimination does not have to accompany the things. It is an unfortunate echo of the past. But it doesn't have to be
San Diego Enters the Red Tier
"Welcome to southern california real estate report. This is bob mcguire. Daniel wise come into from san diego. California reopening sandiego reopened a red tier san diego. Right pretty exciting. So so what does this mean really for us so it. There's there's some right there's some honest it doesn't mean anything but i'm not gonna sit inside and san diego weather right now and other at a restaurant but you know what it does mean that the world i was opening up restaurants precise operate at twenty five percent capacity inside museums could operate inside a twenty five percent capacity. Haven't been very perk is open so all in all the fun things seaworld you know. I don't know what to say about seaworld. But so they offer operate again inside. I think they've been able to operate outside museums but now they can go back to operating inside right in time for our summer. Tourism season right and saint patrick's day right so which this is going to post just the day after saint patrick's day but it was a big deal so going into the red tier for that particular day. It was big deal. So i go to this really like super great little deli down in down by san diego state. Right and it's it's a real popular one. I don't know if you've ever been to it. it's It's it's like a little jewish deli called What is it called. I cannot remember the name right now. i can't believe. I'll have to look it up. I'll post at d. d. and it's awesome. It's like really authentic really great and it was packed. Last night. I went last night to pick up dinner and i do weight and extra forty five minutes to get my dinner and it was to go do irish jews in common like well. I think it's just because it's a deli. They just do super good corned. Beef was one of those things. So it's a really but it's a really popular. So i think that the delhi site that the jewish shelley more like east coast so they're really really good. It's just i mean. does that sound bad. I don't. I don't know i so. So it's a really like it's it's it's like an authentic east coast deli. That's yeah i don't know what's funny as delays even growing up with a jewish family. I don't go to delhi. So i really don't know like a bad east coast deli from sally so it's i think it's a lot different. It's a lot. There are a lot better and so they have much better light quality of meats. And everything like that. So it's just the one in del mar really popular same thing. East coast are west coast elliott. That's like an east coast one and that is also a very well known really good jewish delis so that the east coast jewish. He's known as being really good. Yeah and so so. That's why it's not like it's not like It's not like a religious thing or anything but it's it's always funny that i hear so milton's and are the two big ones here and i'm sure milton's was super pac too but So it's really good and and it was packed. It was packed packed. Like i've never seen it. That packed and crazy and spent there. Because i was there to get dinner together because i wanted corn beef. Because i'm an irish guy and it was the whole outside was completely packed and there was like a line like out the door around the building practically to get in and that was to order it and you had to wait an hour to order it. So it's so. I mean clearly like the red tier like people were getting out. Yeah i feel like people having getting out if you like. The more and more people are that are getting vaccinated especially has kind of elderly generation. It's getting vaccinated. You're gonna see a resurgence and that's a really good point. Because last night it was a lot of older people. Like a lot of people that you wouldn't think would be going out. We're definitely out who fully vaccinated talking to. They're like oh it feels so good to be vaccinated and you know. Yeah we're we're we're ready to get out again and people were talking like in line that this was the first time they've been out in a long time so i think it's good the combination of the vaccine's rolling out at the same time that obviously that's having an effect on the numbers here they're saying that our numbers are really good So the the numbers are. I think we've now gone to six cases per hundred thousand. I don't remember exactly what we're we're so it is saying in here and this by the way was out of the. Ut okay so union tribune and they are saying nine of the other county so it looks like nine. Other counties moved into red to in those were monterey riverside sacramento santa barbara center to hema to lori and ventura And then that just leaves eleven of the california's fifty eight counties in the most restrictive purple tier still the the cases. They're saying have gone to six point. Eight per one hundred thousand residence so they took last week's case rate which was eight point. Eight where at six point eight. And i think they took like a combined total and that got us just over the mark to go to read. So that's good so we keep having our case count drop to which is which is good and i think a lot of that has to do with vaccines right. We're just not spreading fast and it's starting to slow down so hopefully this'll be. The weird thing is in europe. They're kinda getting so talked to one of our clients say who lives in france and She was saying that you know like where she is. She's around knees and it's become more restrictive there so they become more lockdown.
NCAA Tournament East Preview
"Welcome to coincide with greenberg dockage in the south bracket where the number one seed is. Bela number two seaters iowa states. Let's get right into it. John gallagher wild and i like john gallagher. Head coach at hartford neighborhood. Man the neighborhood who here west hartford the neighborhood as the ultimate philly guy. John gallagher is the ultimate dilly guy. I've already got the text from. I've spoken is tipped off banquet a year ago. The dude is certifiably insane in a good way. What he no one is going to enjoy the ncaa tournament more than it. So as soon as they won they immediately went to indianapolis and starts to quarantine and have experienced john. Enjoy it. we're gonna say nice things about you. You're a good guy. And ballard dance so nokes no trepidation about baylor's performance against oklahoma state. Oklahoma states really good people are losing their mind. What at at baylor games. They're playing in the big twelve. They're not planning west coast conference. You're playing in the big twelve. You're planning against other teams that have good players. You're gonna lose games all right. The next game is interesting. Opening round games wisconsin. Why i think he's just not right against north carolina who depending on the day is not right. I mean real simple carolina. You can take care of the ball. Are you gonna make your shot if you take care of the ball and at least get shots up. Then you have an advantage. Except that as we know wisconsin wisconsin's analytics over. Like if you just look at their analytics you would think they'd win every game. They don't give up second shots that will turn it over. They get pretty good shots but they don't play winning basketball. I know that sounds weird. But there's something not right. I think carolina find a way to win that game except the carolina. Jecklin hide reminds of this game. Would you like i like carolina. And this and i look whatever's happened to nate rivers whether it's kobe whether it's whatever it just hasn't been good. I expected more out of him. They don't run their stop nearly as well as they didn't pass they rely too much on one. And frankly they're not a one on one team. And you know what would those big garrison brooks bay. Come and all and bacon's and everybody else you can get into wisconsin. Guards make them drivers into traffic. I think this is a pretty good match up for north carolina. I just think they're better. And i think they're going to win the basketball game and i think they're going to win it fairly big. So if you wanna bet on a game this probably going to have tyke spread. That's gonna move it out a little bit. I think this is the game i think. North carolina wins by double digits. All right to winter is the sexy upset. eco nova plant without conquests. Be justin moore play the other day but wasn't good. They started the set a little bit. You know this is. This is a winter key. May play really fast. I've got a low post lower burns at play him about fifty minutes game. he's really productive. Obviously they got a very good camera. Badran the big six seven kind of point guard because they run the show through a tuck this about. They're extremely aggressive. Pat kelsey really likeable dude. Winter months play fast was gonna try to get into half court who you like. Well i i agree with everything you said. I think winter got a hell of a team. But if this was any other organization other than j j rights organization i would say the winthrop's gonna win the basketball game but you still have robinson hurl. You still have samuels. And if healthy justin moore. You've got three guys. You've got the best three guys on the court. And that always bodes. Well now the point guard situation okay. It is what it is. We all know that point guards at villanova stuff are important. It is the sexy. Pick the five twelve upset all that kind of stuff. But i'm not betting against jay wright and his organisation they just seem to overcome things that need to be overcome when they need to be overcome. I great i agree all right. So now this is an interesting north texas by gurus helmi north texas guards. The crap you absolutely flat can guard you an elite defensive team. They put great pressure notable they then eyeball reversal on play. Two man game with javon Handle it let the point guard and that they are really really good solid defensive team. They turn people over there really aggressive. But you've seen teams like that. Purdue doesn't beat themselves. You pretty has probably i i do. I think this is going to be right down to the wire south because what. I've talked to people today actually. Starting last night couple guys. I was surprised. North texas beat western kentucky. Not because i knew anything about no taxes. But because i saw western kentucky for three games and and they're really good athletic on the wing. Strong tough. I think what you said about the all of the defense bits. Dramatically bad against purdue get up into. They're not the quickest. Get shot team jay nineties really the only one that can i think this is going to be. I'm going to bet against purdue because i think produce offensive analytics put them in the top ten. But nobody's really pressured purdue nobody's really got into them and under wings. Don't take this game for granted. North texas is going to cover whatever the point spread is pretty wins. It the end. Are you got another big time. Texas tech utah state and utah state. Pounds that thing in pain name is cadence a big physical that play a four round. One run actually pretty good motion and so pretty good actions to me. The kid just being an interesting precedent. Don't shoot it as well as they happen to pass but they really defend the top five rebounding They're a very good offensive antiques. Keta against texas tech doesn't have a legitimate big tonight. "I'm Jeremy Hobson here. Now there are just seven weeks left until election day and voting already underway in many battleground states president trump is campaigning. In. Arizona. Today, on a trip to the West that is also giving him his first view of the devastating wildfires in California. He held a packed indoor rally in Nevada last night in defiance of the state's social distancing rules. Meanwhile, Joe, Biden's getting a boost from a former rival former New York mayor and billionaire Michael. Bloomberg pledged pump one, hundred million dollars into Florida to help Biden there. Let's bring it NPR national political correspondent Mara Liasson Hi Mara. I- Jeremy. Well let's start with that rally yesterday Nevada's governor slammed president trump for holding that indoor rally called shameful dangerous, and irresponsible. The trump campaign insists they took proper precautions. Here's what campaign senior adviser Jason Miller said on ABC's this week we take safety very seriously George that's why people are given masks when they come in if they don't already have them, we temperature checks, we have plenty of hand sanitizer we courage people very strongly to wear the masks and this is something that president trump takes very seriously, and we're good to see a lot of folks they're taking our direction here. It appears many people at the rally did not wear the masks that were provided. Why is the president taking this risk by having an indoor rally when all the experts say that's a bad idea. You know how you feel about the pandemic is now the front line of the culture war. Do you think it was once a hoax? Then it was real now it's. Kind of trump's view or do you think that you should be socially distancing and following the administration's own guidelines about large gatherings the president decided to take this risk one message for the Sunday shows they take it very seriously one message for his rally where the only people wearing masks were the people right behind him on the stage now either that was to protect trump or it was to Or? To avoid hitting a fine by local officials or maybe it was just for the cameras but hardly anyone outside of the people right around trump wearing a mask. On the Biden side of things Michael Bloomberg announced. He's committing one hundred million dollars of his own money into the race in Florida what will that money do and it could be crucial in determining who wins Florida. Absolutely, it could be a game changer Michael Bloomberg famously promised to spend whatever it takes to defeat trump no matter who was the nominee he hasn't done that yet but one hundred, million dollars in Florida means a lot. It frees up Biden's money to be spent elsewhere like in other battleground states I think it's going to be helping Biden reach non Cuban Hispanics where he has lagged Hillary Clinton from two, thousand, sixteen, and Florida is a state that trump has to win if he's going to get to two hundred, seventy electoral votes biden has a couple other routes without Florida get to two seventy. But there's no doubt that the Bloomberg money could be a game changer in Florida because it's going to force trump to spend more money there than he otherwise planned to do. Well and speaking of money and the trump campaign they appear to be cutting back on some TV spending. In some crucial states, we've heard about the fact that they're losing their financial advantage. To Biden how much trouble are they in when it comes to money and resources? I don't think they're in as much trouble as some people are saying, there's no doubt that Biden has closed the gap but Donald Trump still has plenty of money to do what he needs to do. The problem is that Biden has been trying to expand the map and make trump play defense in places like Florida or other states he won in two thousand sixteen like Arizona or North Carolina or Georgia, and it's interesting a lot of Democrats after Bloomberg dumped one, hundred million dollars into Florida waiting to see if he'll dump fifty thirty million dollars into North Carolina or Arizona or other states, and that would put a lot of financial pressure on trump. By. The end of this week five states will have started early voting but the president is doubling down on his baseless claims that mail in ballots are rife with fraud. Do we have any sense yet of how many people are going to be voting by? Mail on each side Republicans and Democrats. Well. We know that Democrats in huge numbers tell pollsters, they're gonNA vote by mail. In some cases it's eighty to twenty republicans much less maybe fifty fifty Republicans listen to Donald. TRUMP DONALD TRUMP says mail in voting is bad and fraudulent. So Republicans who used to have an advantage in mail in voting are now deciding not to vote by mail and the president could be hurting himself. In other words this could backfire in a state like Florida you know if Republicans decide not to vote by mail. And a lot of seniors maybe they'll just stay home because they don't want to go to the polls during a pandemic. Now, the interesting thing about the trump campaign messaging is they're trying to say, don't vote by mail. In Florida because Florida is an interesting states among the battleground states is the only one that actually counts and reports its mail in ballots on election night. And many Democrats think trump is planning to if he's ahead on election night with the ballots counted just that day to declare victory and say any other ballots that coming later fraudulent. Those impure national political correspondent Mara Liasson. At, least thirty five people have died in the fast moving wildfires across California Oregon and Washington State, and the governors of all three states have been explicit about their belief in the link between climate change and the severity of this wildfire season as temperatures get hotter and conditions drier but president trump who is expected to visit Northern California. Today blamed the massive wildfires on.

"Is the situation for you right now in Seattle when it comes to air quality Saturday night I woke up in the middle of the night, the smell of smoke. So there's the Air Quality Index A. Q. I I think zero to five, hundred today Ben Around two hundred once you get into the hundreds zone, that's when it gets to be hazardous. A lot of parts of Oregon and Washington and California have been literally off the charts past five hundred up to seven hundred and eight hundred, and we don't even have data on what that does to the human body and so that's really scary. I wanted to ask you about something that you said recently on the podcast you said that climate change is like diabetes for the world and I know you I said that three years ago I wonder if you reflect back on the past three years what you think about that statement now, I should say that I was not the one to coin that statement climate scientists have said it. Over the years and I adopted it in that column that I wrote three years ago, and I would say that unfortunately, this is all very predictable. It's no less devastating and scary but it's predictable. This is what climate scientists are saying is going to become more extreme because climate change is becoming more intense factor in what is a really messy mix of factors that are driving these wildfires to. Be Worse, other factors coming into the wildfire equation include fire management over the decades and centuries over the last century fire management has been to suppress any wildfire instead of letting measured, burning happen, and that measured burning was actually good because it it let off some steam so to speak, and then another factor is having people move in really forced areas where they're more prone to be in. The passive, a wildfire and I think the last point on this, which I think is important because we're going to be hearing more and more as president trump. Joe Biden both talking about this that humans are often the actual creator of the fire. Once humans do it. That's when climate change has an impact, the drier temperatures. That's what's making these so much worse than they would have been otherwise. Any harder covers energy in climate axios. Thanks amy stay safe. Thank you so much. "No, it would be funny though. Don't guess the actress that said this just guess what she was talking about. An older actress. But Oscar Orwell Oscar what's the big news about that this week? About the diversity like there's. A rule that they got to have at least I don't know. I'll give you half a point for that. This story that quote comes from Kirstie Alley the actress she was tweeting about being upset at the new diversity requirements for movies hoping to be considered for best picture at the Academy Awards. The academy issue new rules take effect in two thousand, twenty four that basically make inclusion requirements both in front of and behind the screen for any film that wants to be up for best picture she didn't like it but a lot of folks said Kirstie, alley aren't gonNA. Get an Oscar anyway. Yeah I get why she doesn't like it. Explain. I just don't I just think that as a person who was a creator I don't want anyone telling me how to create things right Tell me who I have to create things with and I won't even tell me how I need to do that. That's part of being a greater. What if I wanted to tell a very specifically white ash story. But at the same foot right I get that there's this whole level of like if you don't force people, they won't do it and we we've consistently been waiting and as as black people showing our talent right and not getting the respect but I always feel like we fix these problems the wrong way. where? Do we go about fixing these problems by now these rules in you you want to be considered for Oscar. You have to have this level of including. It's Leverkusen here, and it's like, yeah, that's a real jackass way to go about it when it was just qualified black people and people need to stop being. Yeah I will say in defense of the new academy rules. So the rules are set up such where a white director could still make a white movie with an all white cast as long as there's some diversity behind the camera, and that makes sense because there's qualified black people to do that. There's qualify as people do that. There's qualify Latino people to do that. So that makes us in the spirit of Kirstie Alley. What all white movie would you WANNA. Make Black. The segments..

It's it's a little like I get a little bit of a taste of Lee Harvey Oswald Slash Jack Ruby kind of vibe with that conspiracy theory. Which is the kill the killer and you owe and you cut it off. I don't have my own personal belief as to who possibly killed to walk but there are tons of theories out there. There are tons of books out there. There are people who've said they killed to park. There are people that have their own theories. And I do implore you to go check those out. Some of them are really interesting. I just I can't place my own We are not passing any sort of legal ramification on this. Just this is. This is stuff that we've researched down again. There's a lot of open ended things here so nothing is yeah. I'm not even going to speculate on. Who actually believe killed him. The next one is that snoop dogg could have saved to pox life The Hollywood actor and comedian phase on love believed snoop. Dogg had connections within the Chris Gang to stop any potential threats onto pox. Life in an instagram live session. He added pox tension with suit with snoop set off a chain of events that ultimately led to his death. I literally don't know anything about that. One I knew nothing about that story not alone. I'm sure. Yeah it's I mean. I don't know but that that whole Chris game has a link back to another one conspiracy theories so that comes up a lot. But I don't know it's one of those things where you just have no opinion on this. I I can't speak on this guy. The next one is that rumors that too posh occurs alive have surfaced once again after claims that he was actually behind bars. Conspiracy Theorists are convinced. That the rapper. Who was shot and killed in a drive by shooting in one thousand nine hundred six actually survived the execution and went into hiding now. Bizarre new evidence and that is in quotation marks has emerged to suggest that to pock also known as to pock and Machiavelli. And that's an I should say that's to Pock T. U. P. A. C. Also known as the number two. Pac and Machiavelli isn't a Los Angeles prison. The rapper has previously served time in prison on sex abuse charges. And so there are records of this but apparently a newly found booking from two thousand seventeen and two thousand nineteen appear to quote unquote match to pox identity according to the youtuber. Ex-con CODY LACEY. When searching using to pock secure and his date of birth to entries. Come up for two different people. WanNa there are rumors. Swirling that to pock is leaving behind bars and the booking records are from April fourteenth. Two thousand seventeen and the second is April. Twenty six two thousand nineteen which is weird. Because that's how the sublime songs stars April twenty-sixth Nineteen ninety-two Anyway. Sorry about that. That was me doing a weird connection with numbers anyway with Details matching to pock including his height and weight. Because no other person on the planet could possibly be the same height and the same weight as to pock weird as so weird guys to pock is alive. I'm telling you to his alive. This is to pock not everyone was convinced at Lacey's discovery pointing at how easy it is for someone to give a fake name when being booked for arrests so those are the ten most popular to park theories and again. I condensed those to their basic just smallest details answers. There's a lot of others not only that but like every conspiracy theory literally has a book's worth of evidence and I said that with the bunny ears to back it up so me just reducing it to literally like a couple sentences is taking it down to the base level. So like if you're interested in any of those there are books in books and books and books and books and news articles and youtube pages and literally so much information about those and that was just boil down to his basic minimum information so in the end. Here's the thing both biggie and to pox. Death are super frustrating. One with biggie. The investigation was so botched from every single level. That there was the. There's no way that this is going to be solved ever and with to park the thing. That's so frustrating. Is the lack of any witnesses or any footage anything in one of the most filmed places in the world. And then you have deathbed. Confessions you have you have people who were claiming that they were there. You have people that that say like. I know who killed his so frustrating because even thirty years later we are no closer to finding out who truly killed either one of these young men than we were on the nights they were killed. It's crazy is so frustrating. But I hope that you are entertained by the East Coast West Coast rivalry and I wanted to finish off because of course. I like to finish on a thoughtful note. I thought I would leave you with three quotes from to block. The first one is reality is wrong. Dreams are for real. I love that one. I'm not going to say I'm going to change the world but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world and I love that like I'm going to create something that might set the next person off to create something that will change the world. Desa really cool quote for me and here is my favorite quote by him. Maybe one of my favorite quotes by anybody. My mom always used to tell me. If you can't find something to live for you better find something to die for and that concludes our episode onto pock. Hope you guys really like that. I really like seriously please go read all the information. That's on the show notes. Check the books out. Check out the the bio-pics for both of the artists. There's just so much information and do check out the last podcasts. On the left I mean. They're they took a massive deep dive into the the entire east coast. West Coast thing focusing on biggie and sugar and to park and breaking everything down and then I think they actually do come to a conclusion. Apu they think killed both of them and so I highly suggest them. They're they're gems and L. D. is going to roll out our social here in a minute If you have thoughts theories comments again jump in join the conversation. Yeah please do. "I am your host L. D. and unfortunately TJ is not here with us this week She is very sick. But I am fortunate to be in quarantine with someone who had some free time and could sit down with me so you guys welcome my husband. William a good try. Not the same. I will sorry. Got Plenty of time to practice since we're home. Yeah this has been a scary time for everybody and If you don't care to listen to US Banter about this I guess skip ahead like three minutes but we got the news. I believe it was yesterday that Kenny Rogers passed away at age. Eighty one and so of course we will be doing an episode on him. But I grew up listening to Kenny. Rogers and that was incredibly sad. We have covert nineteen. That's kind of ravaging our world right now so in the grand scheme of things. I gotta be honest. This podcast seemed like the least of the important things that we should be doing. But you know it's it's my way of giving you guys a distraction and distracting myself at the same time because we can get overwhelmed. I think it is needed because again people are in their homes. They're not sure I know California's completely locked down and other states are following us. Entire countries in Europe are now closing their borders. And it's really easy to feel just like you're alone and you know we want to remind everybody out there that you're not you're not This is a great time to connect with the people in your immediate circle. You know your your family and those who live with may be you know your roommate but it's also a time to connect with family. You know. Call Your family in another state you know. Set up a skype call do something that can connect you guys and I think you said that this may not seem important. I would disagree. I think something like this is very important at a time like this. Well I know that we as podcasters are putting our voices out there and hopefully giving you guys some entertainment and something to look forward to so you know that's our small contribution but I am trying to do something with my little community that I've got so if you want to help with a small montage that I'm doing and putting together a video montage already have about seven or eight tapes. In so if you guys want to participate record yourself horizontally for about thirty seconds dancing to Meghan trainor better when I'm dancing and you can email me that linger video or whatever to Carolina. Blue productions at gmail.com. That's Carolina like the state blue light color and productions as in many Carolina. Blue productions at gmail.com and I will be posting that not only on my our instagram and our twitter but also our facebook page. So I'll give it all socials at the end like I usually do but for now. Let's take a little distraction so we're going to be picking up where we left off on our East Coast. West Coast rivalry with to pock. Her and I used a lot of different resources for this. I've kind of been living with two pox since about August of last year and other episodes came up and then we did the month of Mercury and You know a lot of stuff happened and then we got into Christmas and then New Year's and then all of a sudden it's February and now it's March so here we are and there is so much material on those you know. I think I would encourage you to look at your own research it on yourself. You have so many books and movies and articles Galore. There's there's a lot here. There are films. There's bio pics. There's youtube channels. There's other podcasts. I mean there's a there's so much because I remember when you showed me the copy I looked over and you had a lot of material there and that's not a knock on you that only scratches the surface of what's there. There's so much because there's only so much we can do in an hour and a half you know there's there's and then I of course me because I love a good conspiracy theory. I did add the ten most recognizable to puck conspiracy theories at the end of it. That's not even all of them. An over central boiled it down to like two or three sentences. He's just so you get the vague idea of what the conspiracy is. But I mean it. Is there so much it's incredible? It really is because you not only have to deal with the rivalry the mysterious death of both of them both big and to pock but there is a great podcast that I'm I know I've mentioned in the past but it's called the last podcast on the left and it's been kissel Henry Zabriskie Marcus Parks and they're insanely popular. I'd be shocked if you guys didn't who they were and they did. I think a two to four part series on the death of beginning to pox. Yeah we only took the individuals. But they've done. They did a deep dive. So if you find yourself super interested in this information after this you can go. Listen to their podcasts. Because they do a brilliant job Podcast isn't for everybody. I will say that. So let's just jump in and I'm to put the. I'm going to put all of the references that I used into the show notes. If you want to dig a little bit deeper into that so and there's also a great book just called to Pock and what we have to. We have like eight onto pa. I thought that in particular like like you said there's so much material there I mean this is this is going to hopefully give you a little overview and some grist for the mill as they say but again there is so much out there on this and there's so much left unanswered it's staggering a. Yeah it's it's crazy so let's jump in and we'll tell you guys both me and will are sick right now but I'M GONNA try to edit this as little as possible so if you get an extra Or I repeat something I apologize. We woke up long enough to record this. So yeah we're doing okay that we're doing we're doing okay. We're doing we'll do this. We will get through it getting through this. So let's start at the very beginning To puck a Marcia Kure was born. Shane Parrish Crooks June sixteenth nineteen seventy-one to Black Panther activist parents in East Harlem New York City and he was named after Jose. Gabriel to Puck Amaru the second which was an eighteenth century political leader in Peru who was executed after leading a rebellion against Spanish rule. So that's like a really cool name. Canada's difference was that interesting historical reference to. Yeah I that I love when people research names that they're giving their children that's an entire science to itself. It's really interesting. What's the animosity of your name? I've never looked it up serious. I I need to so that was one thing I will do. I think it's associated with William the conqueror. Also I do know that sort of the origin of it but I don't know what the actual name breaks down to means so I will have to look it up homework for me. Mine was a combination of my parents. Mental names so it means nothing but my last name is German for honest or the truth the truth so his parents actually separated before he was born and his mother. A Fini Shapur whose real name was Alice. Faye Williams was imprisoned while she was pregnant with him. So you're pregnant in jail in April nineteen sixty eight. A Fini was arrested with her then husband and I'm going to try to pronounce this name and I apologize if I butcher it. I looked up several pronunciations for for names in this. But there's no through line that people can agree on so la- Muga it's L. U. M. U. M. B. A. Shukor at their apartment in Harlem on the charges of conspiring with other Black Panther members to carry out bombings in New York with bail. Set at one hundred thousand dollars for each of the twenty one suspects the Black Panthers decided to raise money. I for Joseph and secure so those could work on raising bail money for the others Shaker. Head been effective in raising bail funds for other jailed Black Panthers. So that's that was the that was the reasoning for that. The pretrial started in February nineteen seventy and the actual trial on September eighth. Nineteen seventy charges brought against her and the other members of the Black Panthers or attempted murder conspiracy to commit murder conspiracy to bomb buildings and conspiracy so conspiracy conspiracy and then some more conspiracy. What's added all the charges which he was imprisoned when he was born? So yeah during the course of the trial. The judge dismissed twelve out of thirty charges. She actually chose to represent herself in court pregnant while on trial and facing a three hundred year prison sentence and she had no law degree she interviewed witnesses and argued in court she and the other Panthers Twenty One were acquitted in. May Nineteen seventy-one after an eight-month trial altogether. She spent two years in jail before being acquitted to pock got acquainted with his biological father. Bill Garlan so that was his bio dad. Only after he became an adult interesting. So this is all happening before. He's even born yet. He did not know until he was known to his whose father was right. Yeah well that's what I gathered from my research. If I'm missing something. Please tell me no seriously you guys email me I am. I crave any kind of human interaction. Right now The following year in Nineteen seventy-two Lesean was renamed to pock which means shining serpent in Inca. So that's cool. His first acting stint was in one thousand nine hundred three and this is why I was kind of drawn to to pock not to get all east coast west coast but To pock was really a student of the arts. Oh yes absolutely. So he was actor. He was a poet. He was a rapper. He was he did a ton of stuff and so I felt A. I felt a kinship to back when I was doing this so it is really the soul of an artist. Yeah at the age of twelve he performed in a raisin in the Sun with the hundred and Twenty Seventh Street Ensemble. Athenian to Puck actually moved to Baltimore Maryland where he entered the prestigious Baltimore School for the arts as a teenager while the school he began to write raps and poetry. That's what I was talking before. And he performed in Shakespeare plays and took a role in the nutcracker which he could actually dance. He could do it all you could dance. He could sing he. I'm using.

"A daytime thing totally. Well I went down a rabbit hole of your music videos last night. So you have so many dope videos and so many cool looks thing. Which one would you say is like one of your favorite like look so or music video songs my most most recent music video anchors? Is that with the pink wag. No is you both like a pink on your story. Last night I saw long term in care and it was like new video tonight or something. Oh that was that. Was the video me wrapping. Yes I did watch that. Yeah Yeah I'm trying to. It's funny I'm like you guys want me to drop this but don't even have a hook yet versus were so Firoz like you always want to give them a little sneak peak but yeah my probably are we my most recent video anchors. That's just like a song I'm like really proud of. I mean as far as looks in a video though layoff style. Looks my Song Carl on like paint paint homage to like Karl Lagerfeld. Yes I loved. It was like the craziest looks I've ever had in the video so yeah that's definitely one of my favorites. Yeah Yeah I love it all getting some infidels like ooh yeah. You've a lot of vaguely. Looks definitely so what are you working on right now The main thing I'm working on is my clothing line. Oh say yeah. It's called a Luo cartel. Oh my God I laughed. It was actually inspired by Red Man. So and my one music video Sharon stoned him and Michael Rapaport played detectives. And there's a part where there was total freestyle Improv. And they're acting like detectives an Aku she with WHO she working for and red man's like I know who she with she with Ella. Well cartel they were all onset dying we were to hold it in while they're filming but everybody was dying laughing and so it just really fit me and I was like trying. I think the clothing line name when I was working on my line with my partner. Whatever knows the name being like Dude L. O. cartel kind has just like my thing? It's like known for laughing right and I think it's a a cool name because it's like it's cute Ambassad the same time you know. And it's like the the brand is about it's like it's all about positively. It's not just like laugh out loud. Live out loud. Love out loud. And we're like we're all about promoting positive but also like being a bad ass at the same time because I think kids these days like they think it's cool to be like negative and like talk shit and be like haters attention like no like it's cool to positive happy like young. You know what I mean. That's that's a cool thing so that's like really what I'm trying to promote the brand and its Unisex clothing tilts for girls and guys like street wear. The T shirts hoodies. Hats beanies love stuff like that cousy. Also no way which Yeah like my fan base loves cousy. My Dad loves cousy. My Dad loves you so I'm definitely going to get one of those. Yeah I got you. Yeah that's literally only like one of my dad's favorite shows so it's been a big fan of yours for a decade Nice shot in hospital. I mean I have been how how long all of us has been on now too because I feel like I've been guys longtime also so our show. We shot our pilot in two thousand eleven but we weren't on air until two thousand thirteen so we've been doing arena for eight years on air for six. Oh my God yeah you guys are basically because I remember I started watching your show right when ridiculousness started hearted. I remember this because right when that show started. I actually didn't have a couch at the time and my friend was like you're on TV and don't have a couch. What's wrong with the IT? Sounds like Tommy. I was like I was Eilly Lubaton those like I need shoes purses and like nobody sees my house the TV Out What I'm wearing. You know who cares about couch. My friend was like dude. You ridiculous he needs to get out and I was like watching Vanbrugh's they gotta love that that's been an ongoing joke this summer with Tomonori on as they have this gorgeous like two point one million dollar house with no furniture. You're just a mansion. Really why they just they were they. Were just like you know we. We have mattress. We sleep on the couch and then they have like a little table but it's like they have a five bedroom gorgeous house. It's coming together but it's funny because everyone bought houses all says this year unlike either bartend furnished car car by what which is a young man. He's the youngest one on the show. Exactly so it's like you can't compare yourself to other people who are like years ahead a little longer than you. I wasn't compare myself. Oh yeah but most people either bottom. Foreigners are furnished him in the first week and domino and it was like six months later. And we're like oh ooh. I feel like Tom. Tom Takes time with everything joint. Tax cost eight x eight days later like now. I'm in Australia. I needed that last week when I was. Yeah but their house is beautiful. It was just. It's like but how do you not have furniture when you're on on a television show. I WASN'T A. It's not a very already to everyone. Not Yeah but I feel them though. 'cause I just got a house to the same thing like I've been taking my time like like I finally own this house I wanted to be. I don't WanNa Tell uh-huh even though they got me on the what. Is it the Hollywood hip hop tours. You guys just hilarious burned in my house and I think you'll hear that I hear I hear people on the little bus. We Love Chanel. Got The Hollywood hip hop tours and I even even did a snap about this. I'm like does this hilarious will shut up to the Hollywood hip hop tours. And like I feel like I can barely get recognition in the hip hop game but clearly they recognize me because they've gone on their rock and hip hop toilet. I love actually mental. Think about that for a second. Like what ray that's crazy I don't know so Before you finish that thought I wanted to ask you. I don't know if you guys have heard of Rockin but it's something my girlfriend Jamie was telling..

Hop song was still a wild west fire fire before way before old town road just putting it out there screen-grabbed confident van dan what you're about to do other dp you're director. Yes dust coming up so as an independent artists like how how do you produce a music video like this honestly so. It's so funny like i started to think like maybe i was meant to be more of like a director producer because when i write songs i'm already thinking about the music video. I literally like oh and then this should have. Everybody's always like dude like it doesn't have one of the songs now have a music video not every on me but i think so visually storyteller exactly yeah so all of the all my music videos came from my mind like there's not one that didn't that somebody else came up with like every single video like even even if it's not me getting the credit for directing like i'm being like this is what i wanna do. This is my vision and and the director really helps me. Bring it to life pretty much. Yeah must be nice you <hes> do you think do you think wrapping is inherent talent or can you learned over the years like this jake paul. I have a chance to become very. I think it will. I think that if you you have rhythm and if you know how to be on beat then you can learn how to route for. Isn't there something in like water the way your water. Because you know, that you're not spending the type of quality time with them that you should be the one you love is thinking about leaving you are leaving because they feel neglected. You bet for them to give you one more chance if they give it to you. They won't regret it you've meant to having issues. But also meant that you stood know how to make them feel special. You can make them feel like the west coast, sunny warm with cool ways and strong. So. Interesting take. Symbolism with talking about the west coast. Here's the lyrics that song. And this is actually one of my favorite tracks album. One more day will spend together let your eyes look upon me for the better. Oh, I know I'm worse for weather. "I mean, obviously LMU is beautiful campus and we've we did the sleeping giant things last year in that, you know, that's a great, you know, could be a great program, obviously has a history, so keep an eye on them as well. But I don't know. I mean, this is all just, you know, west coast fodder. We obviously probably have talked more about west coast basketball than anyone on the west coast in the past eight, Tim, do don't need to do it ever again. I'm gonna say my party thoughts are New Mexico them, yeah, New Mexico. I, I'm worried I'm worried about New Mexico in San Diego State. I'm gonna say that because New Mexico, are you aware that Carlton brag is is at New Mexico. Now, how old is it out and brag there? Is he like right, like win. When we stop. Carl Carlton brag aka the original Brian Bowen. Is. Is that New Mexico, but so is Jay Quan Lyle who is the original Carlton brag? And I'm just worried I worried about New Mexico in that regard of just you got two guys down there that are, I don't know. You can have one, it's it's the, isn't this like a universal theory across like every sport, you can have one crazy guy. You have to have one appoint. Yeah, you can have one Rodman, but that's yet it. Yeah, you can have one Dennis Rodman one runner test, Jay, Jay Quan Lyle and Carlton brag and same locker room. I'm a little worried about what what's happening with New Mexico who has a pretty good program that we've probably should've mentioned a little more on this box. Also San Diego State Tate. I ask you, this, are you? Do you have any ideas coaching? Saint Augustine right now? I, I said, I would guess a former St. Fisher assistant right gotta be a backdrop from the past. Is that correct? Yeah, you are correct. Thank you. I don't know there. I got your Brian duchess's his name duchy they go, isn't it? Yeah, they go Brian Dutcher, but I think that will streets the point of life. I don't know. I, he's not necessarily back which I'm not. I'm not calm down San Diego State fan. I'm not saying he sucks. I'm just, we're saying we missed. I would've really liked to see San Diego State. I don't know, bring her someone really, really good. Oh, like Rick, Pitino idol. No, that'd be cool. I don't know what I'm saying Tate. I just I just I'm worried about Saito say, 'cause they, they had a thing going for second. Then Steve Fisher could necessarily win and they say tournament and the now they just have potential. I never like it when I'd never ever like it when the guy who's like the best coach at a program leaves and then they hire within, I never liked that move unless it's Tim, thank it. Yeah, unless Tim too, Tim Jenga vich. Oh, Tim, j yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we that's the only time Brown's the best coach history. Yes, a hundred percent. Yes. It's I mean in basketball? Yes, absolutely. No doubt about it. All right, let's get the dirty laundry cloudy of stories or what I got some stories. Kyle just woke up, classic west coast badge, like, what are you guys are gonna talk about basketball. This is wild. I went to a big east school and took a geography class with some of the some of the basketball team. One of my friends was the manager on the team, so I knew some of the guys made the mistake of agreeing to be in their group for product about Japan. I asked the starting small forward who a top one hundred crew couple years before to put together one slide on the physical geography. I e mountains oceans, just basically where it is in the world so that he would have some contribution the night before the project was, do. We're supposed to present our slide to the front of the class. I get the once live from him. I look at the slide and even with my low expectations, I'll never forget what he said. Japan, sit in the ocean. NIA say, we didn't use a slide redid it. Then had him read the words off during that. I mean, I mean, show me the like, I'll show me the lie that one Japan is in the ocean. It sit in the ocean tight. Yeah, that's a good project. I don't understand the problem with that one. Yeah, I've a I I wanted to fed was like. We will. We do the dirty laundry last time. Last season..
"west coast" Discussed on One Shining Podcast with Titus and Tate
"Back where. Like they're landing recruits that they shouldn't be landing and they play like a really fun style of basketball, and they got the flashy shit going on, and they're basically like Miami football is now where people think Miami's people get tricked into thinking Miami's like good again because they were the turnover chain and they tried to get swag going and all that kind of stuff. But like they're not actually like if you can get back to that level that would do wonders for for the the west coast. But in general, dude, like if you actually look at at the the non like this year, certainly. But just overall, I mean. Gonzaga's probably the best program in in out west. It's like Zagre, Arizona right now and get zag is definitely better going into the season with. We've arrived at a point where like the the mid majors out west seemed to be better than the major conferences, but that that kind of comes back to what I'm talking about shouldering the brunt of like I have to carry the torch for west coast basketball. Do you think that Mark view and Gonzaga's ever thought that? I don't think so. I, you know, if there's care, they don't care. They're just running a program and that's why I think it's kind of a curse again. I mean, as gift in occurs to be, you know, Arizona UCLA. I mean, it's cool to be top dogs and everything on the west coast, but everyone's looking at you every single year and people they tap out out here. You know what I mean as soon as Arizona loses to Colorado on the road. You know, people are like, well, there goes, there goes that season. We gotta figure out what to do with Shawn Miller. I don't know if we should keep him and you know what I mean? And I feel like it's cyclical which I guess me back to the Bank Bank question I wanna ask you which. Has. If those are the two premier programs, do they have premier coaches that can actually get them to that level? Because I, I don't know, I don't know about offered..
