"Dud Well that's your opinion And no no no because the reason I'm reading I say this is because the show that follows you I will mention his name But to show the follow you is a taped show and there is no one ever from Chicago calls in on that station The only place the college enter that closely to get to it is someone in Africa where she is a woman closing in All right so let me ask you northern Indian Yeah let me ask you something I'm going to make you They're going to cut you off I'm going to make you crazy I'm going to make you king for a day here You have no budget for overnights all right You just don't And the reason you have no budget for overnights is you're trying to spend on other day parts including me who's very expensive All right So now you have no budget You know what's out there What would you put on the air Well I don't know You have to stop and think about it Yeah well let us know when you come up with something Well wait a minute Would you want to hear George nori No I don't know For sure Yeah I think I'd quit if they did that Because then I would then I would realize they don't care about this radio station All right so if you're not talking that you want to put red eye radio on Well as long as I don't know I wouldn't want red art Well so we've just run out We've just won out of live overnight shows All right so now if you find another one let me know what it is Live and reliable not something like some guy who's doing it from his bedroom and may not be doing it next week But as far as live and reliable you got two choices bad and awful Right So it was a great show but just some people I know You mentioned and also they didn't mention like I know they mentioned the wallet Phillips show They had a guy on their Larry Schrader It was really the first roving reporter And if they had more time when he said he went to offer together named bob Collins wife house before they broadcast they did say that If they had more time there would have been more on it And I would have appreciated that too But of course you know me I'm a nerd I would have liked to see two hours on the first ten years but come on There was more stuff they could have put on Right right And 7 of us would have watched it But you know that's what I don't know Why didn't they do it on the radio in an hour when they knew people would probably be listening to it Well I think it was probably much better on television actually I think you got to see faces I think that was great Well you know you got to see Facebook what I'm seeing is I called the station myself and people were saying how they weren't going to receive I know you've got to get an online if you want to go watch it Just about anyone can do that My theory is like I told the station I said you can simulcast 4 o'clock to 6 o'clock in the morning to WG and TV news Why didn't you simulcast That show on Thursday night from 7 to 8 Can't answer what other words they could have done away at John landecker for an hour And everybody could have caught it Well all over the nation The reason I say I can't answer that is because to answer it appropriately I'd have to know how that played on audio only because very often things that are made for video don't work audio only So I'll tell you I have no terrible It was a great show for me I got all the sense out of it It'd be just like listen to radio I'm visually handicapped I watched it on TV Right I don't need audio just to listen to somebody to listen to on the radio for years and years or you knew their own radio Well maybe they'll do it I have no idea I know it's easily available I don't think anybody who says I can't get it online I don't buy that You know somebody No I don't either You can get it but I'm just saying I didn't simulcast it in the same time I'm sure I'm sure there were reasons And I have no idea Just my comments Yeah No that's more than welcome but in terms of time frame I don't cotton to that discussion because again if you're given 46 minutes you're going to be cutting out a lot of stuff Oh yeah I know that Because of only an hour I know that's all right I knew it was 45 minutes because they were also in front of the spot commercials And well they should have somebody has to pay for this Oh yeah they do somebody to get paid for it Well anyway I wish it was longer too And you know I never asked about that but my gut is that probably was budget Well it had to be a budget Right Garcia's stations have got troubles now Well I'll tell you this one this one financially doesn't But you still budget for anything you do if you're smart in business and whatever the budget was probably wasn't allowing for more I wish it was too Who knows Maybe someone will do something again I have no idea Right Okay All right thanks All right Appreciate it Okay You're a good deal So 888-876-5593 But yeah I absolutely understand you know not having your favorite thing whatever it is in there But again if you have to do this in 46 minutes you're going to be cutting a lot of stuff All right so we'll talk to Brandon and west Chicago We'll talk to James and Mount Vernon We got another bumper snuffer coming up because we have oh about 40 more minutes of Monday night trivia if it's Friday night don't call just listen So in 1950 one out of two Americans were this in 2001 out of 5 Americans were What Yes, we have many excavators and backhoes. And then the gets your attachments. Help clear the ground to get all the material underground. I C s o husband has been for you guys. Then his construction dropped off for some of that municipal work and they're going to do it anyway. Have you been Yeah, we've been pretty blessed. Um, first choice equipment we started in 2012. And I kind of like to think of our company of the is a new company with old roots and the construction industry since we started has always been strong. Um There's always road projects, which thing causes utilities have to be moved, Um, really a big driver of AA. Lot of our projects to has been the fiber industry, you know, going from three G two for Jean, out five g. That's been a big usage of a lot of our products. How many people do you employ? We have 49 people, uh, within our organization. Um, Like I said, we're kind of a newer companies starting in 2012. Our sister company ditch which Midwest We've been in business for 50 years, and we're approached by the Cambodia construction company to bring on their product line. And because of just not really fitting in our ditch, which style house That's when we started the first choice. Side of the company, and so we've been putting stuff in the dirt for 50 years. That's where the older piece comes in on dumb guys in West Chicago. Yeah. Yeah, We just moved out to a Chicago. We're in Carol Stream for 48 years, and we just built a new building out in the western suburbs, though I imagine those since everybody is working at homes. It seems I don't know you guys were probably out in the field. As the way you do business changed in your industry. That's a good question. So yeah, we're again. We're fortunate that weaken socially distance and be out on a job site where guys are still working, and you know, we're not having to be asked restrictive. But nobody wants you in their office because the covert side of things so technology has really become an important piece of our the way we communicate with our customers. Um, we put in system since the cove. It, um just kind of service side, and it's really the tack team emailing peace where a customer could bring his machine in. We shoot them a quote over attacks. We shoot them a court over email. We can shoot pictures. We can shoot videos, given the estimates that peace has really changed for us. Because before you know that was done over a phone call or having the individual come in. And doing that face to face. But now, with the different requirements and different restrictions we really had to invoke from new pieces of technology. You want the sales side? You? Well, not really being a huge Internet president. We've we've had to get more on the Internet side with our pieces of equipment of what's for sale. Well, what's the website for you guys? It's first church equipment dot com. Yeah, I saw that. So one s t.

"Middle of March due to the pandemic. Typically more than a 1,000,000 visitors stop by for the incredible view each year. Big difference now. Let's go to a little weather. We've been watching it all night. Tom Skilling, tell us more about that. You know, Lords, it's amazing to watch this stuff blossom these thunderstorms in the warm thing, humidity and then fade away Justus fast once the sun goes down, so it is in summertime around the Midwest in the country Look at the extent of the warmth 96 at Rapid City and North Platte Today 92 at Bismarck, we were 93. Have to go up into Canada to find some comfortable weather here, 93 metal here. The spread, though across the area went from 96 hillside and Harwood Height 81 at Lincoln Park and Soldier Field. Normal High is 84. So we were above normal. Do you know every one of the next 16 days will finish well above normal 19 to 20 mile per hour wind gust er. There were 40 mile per hour gusts and some of the stronger storms and we had a little over half are possible sunshine. You know, we've had eight now. 90 degree days today we've had won by this time last year four or normal. And tomorrow night at 12 midnight. We closed the books on June 2020. It will have averaged. We think 73.9 which will make it the eighth or ninth warmest June of the past 149 years, so summer 2020 is off to a warm start. Low nineties at O'Hare and Midway 80 of the lakefront today and there these impressive rains at Lombard West Chicago, Mondo Line and clan, Ellen. Other rain totals around the area were impressive as well. There's Hammond Monday lines say, Charles at Deerfield. So kind of a nice mild day around here and look at the wind gust at low. Augustus, 61 miles per hour, 43 miles per hour at Rockford today, and Hammond, a Glenview well represented there, too. But tonight with McGee, Tropical aRer and a 91% relative humidity of 71 do pointed 74. Windsor, southeast of eight. The temperature's uniformly warm one thing with all that moisture in the air. These aren't going to move much. The temperature you see now will be pretty much the one with which will start the day. Tomorrow is dew point. CITIC Gulf Coast levels. It's muggy out there and there's the radar. Remember when we had those big orange and red blobs all over watch how they fade away during the course of the last several hours. So what? You've got laughter a couple little Aaron showers and they, too, will be fading from the scene as the evening goes on. We have big rains in northern Wisconsin. I mean, really big yesterday and then Here's a doctor plot of the rain. Is it laid out in the area and you can see when we say 45%. 50% of the aerial gettin on storms. That's what we're talking about. If you get under one of those, there's a day luge. You see some of the totals that came down across the area two inches around Marengo, and there were Dr measurements that put the amounts of three inches up in Boone County. We had reports of Oh gosh. There was the flooding and so forth up in that area, well, hot, humid week nineties or forecast each day away from the lake and about 1/2 to 2/3 of the sky. Covered with clouds with dew points hovering pretty close to 70 or in the low seventy's many of the next five days, 20% chance of a shower and spots tonight. Drops to 10% tomorrow morning, but it's up to 35% by Tuesday and 30% in the afternoon on Wednesday, and there you see the predicted temperatures all above normal. Low pressure out to the west of us that keeps the wind southerly. But that little high that drops in from the upper Midwest will turn winds off the leg on the winds will then guy down that gives pollutants a chance to build up in the lake breezes to blow in the afternoon hours. So going to stay human all this week. Nothing to blow that tropical air away and the nineties are in the forecast each day, right on through next week and the falling weekend. So tonight The showers, ending becoming partly cloudy, warm and muggy. Low 73 during the day tomorrow looks like it will be a partly sunny, hot, humid day scattered 30% coverage. Thunderstorms popping up again in the afternoon high 91 low eighties Lakeshore Tomorrow night partly cloudy low down to 73 another muggy night and the same thing on Wednesday. Sun and mixed clouds and those cotton cumulus will build up and 10 or 20% area may get a thunderstorm in the afternoon high 91 low or mid eighties on the shoreline. And it just is hot through the Fourth of July weekend. Fourth of July. This year is Saturday 92 will be the forecast higher than 94 on Sunday and Monday and right through there. We get these high amenities. You know, I think it seems to me odd they have July 4th on Saturday. But I'm sure it's not.

"In west Chicago do we have the name right maybe it's. what's on horses. it was a great job mark you do your job through I'm. not just good he's. what about the game coming up if you had any thoughts on it I do I hope that I'm talking all those season ticket holders all brands that go to the game on Sunday not just through the offense or match you know I was there on opening day and I totally understand why the bulls were coming after all the hype of the off season and it was really frustrating seeing how the team played the offense especially. we're at a point one which is the only answer we have for the season and I don't see any point at all during the offense or nature they have a bad start or if you have some bad place when you win because dharma striking out so many people. I don't want to hear it. I was trying to spin it never tell anybody how to be a fan I'm not a brewers why don't I mean I don't think it's listen you paid me you just like you paid did you pay and you feel like you're Boeing is that the only way you could express frustration in the game right it's not it's not I would choose to do but I'm not going to tell you how to do it I Jackie is in lake view Jackson how to marching Greco. Hey mark all right Jack good how are you man. I just want to call and kind of comments on the way it went last night's game and how it's like we should be doing a season going forward in my opinion I think this whole conversation that's going on between well all these analysts talking about how he made a portable decision any debt but that doesn't really matter now I think that he really has nothing to do. that we met she was quarterback has more to do it like right he's the GM we also as we saw last night yep request on about. right when I get out very often we all be against that a pretty bad defense but I don't know I think it's all who he was drafted yeah I had of is really a non talking points. with us now because we know we have a head coach and members of the United and making. it is a Jack look though it is human reaction to be sitting there on a Sunday and your college and see in the red zone channel as Watson and and my homes are going crazy and you're saying you don't see yourself Walt was pace thinking he traded up he knew he had his guy but it was the wrong guy he picked the runt of the litter. yes I I agree with that but I also subscribe to the the big cat that if we drafted my homes that a giant act mean out with him and he also. it's not gonna happen is. but I've you guys and do you know what I do I just like every now and every now and again like you're saying so the I'll watch the game and I in in in it'll cross your mind but at this point I I mean I know I know is that alone it is more I don't I meet you phrase it as you're stuck with them SO develop them and don't keep going back to that I think that was Jack's point of course. there's nothing I could do about it now so you're built to win now treating if he could be collated even if he is not great they could still win a Superbowl if you've called yes if he's good Nagy gets all the credit if he's bad it's all on Mitch. I I you know a cause me already that Mitch is already characterized as a guy who's serious about what he's doing what he's trying to do and he's working really hard in the study really hard the results are coming at a very slow trickle so. I think if he does get to level we think you should be I think that that is going to get more credit I mean I think I think this is going to be as it's going to be like every game from the offense of perspective is going to be a separate season in sixteen seasons in one with how we view because it's going to be different like I guarantee you I can't guarantee but I'll try to guarantee you that the game plans which try to. okay I'll guarantee you that the game plan this weekend is gonna look more like the game plan against the Broncos than it did exactly the right idea because you're playing a better defense yeah you know what I'm saying yes so I mean if they come out and they air it out against the the Vikings I don't think that's I don't it may be he surprises but I don't think that's the most prudent approach against that defense there is time in a place and last night was a time in a place that kind of air it out against the lesser defense if you do that against the Vikings they may give you. some trouble like the the the Green Bay Packers I'm I'm more of a Dave Montgomery show and it and you like all those little moments he's not very fast he's not very big but he's good he is a loose if you can't tackle this guy he gives you that little juke move their three guys on him he busts out you want to see more of that I want to see more I don't want to wait till like five minutes left in the fifth set. arching Greco brought to is always by Chicago cut steakhouse a son David farm today this is not good some bears we were talkin some clubs he's very disappointed that it without is a box ready to go here we go giving me a tutorial. which was going to Prague that would be cool would you want to go to Prague boxes. we can send you supposed to be a cool city yeah surprise one don't already have a plan for your vacation but Chicago cut steakhouse was set out in the river I saw some anymore to those two guys David Fleming Matt Moore will roll out the red carpet to you they're going to serve you the best steak you've ever had Austin appetizers if you're like marking you don't eat steak you'll have great Dover sole or some other seafood great sides appetizers awesome desserts you got to try this chocolate peanut butter pie always a colonel well is it good and all the lines that they have over six hundred lines check him out was down the river make your reservations today at Chicago cut steakhouse Hey I have another message for you mark you want to get off of that island and stay there yeah and I'm not looking at you and saying you need to I. want to feel better look better eat better and not sacrifice taste you never want to do that because I don't listen and so I'm going to get in touch with factor seven okay because I was just going to introduce you mark to our good friends at factor seventy five because they deliver healthy dietitian approved meals directly to your home or office okay no I'm not trying to look at you and say you need I'm just saying if you want to take that a priority to try anything they are going to deliver these mails they're delicious they don't skimp on flavor each recipe crafted by swimming or I can even make it to the door state they're going to ensure mouthwatering taste in every.
The Hatchery Chicago Cooking Up Food and Jobs on the West Side
"We begin this morning front and center with our CEO spotlight here on the opening bell, Chicago's newest business incubator is cooking up some innovation in the food and beverage industry. The hatcheries Natalie Shmulik is in our spotlight this morning, Natalie. Good morning. Welcome to the opening bell. Good morning. Thank you for having me. I've been excited to have our conversation today because the idea of hatchery is one that I think Chicago has been asking for we've how we have all kinds of incubators, but not one focused on food and restaurants. Yeah, we're very excited about what we're doing. We know that Chicago is a staple for food and beverage whether it be amazing restaurants throughout the city amazing resources agriculture the foundation for somebody. Big CPG companies, and we're excited to share alongside great incubators accelerators like good food business accelerator, and so many others here in Chicago that are doing great work for the food and beverage industry as the CEO you are overseeing all of this. What have been the challenges and some of the things that you've had to get over to get to this point. I think some of the biggest challenges have just been ensuring that what we're doing is in fact meeting in need, and that was very important to us from the beginning. We wanted to be able to learn learn alongside the entrepreneurs that we serve. And so we have this great concept, which was really the brainchild of ICM see industrial counts of near west Chicago, which is one of the oldest and largest business incubators in the country right here in Chicago in Fulton market district and axiom, the nonprofit microlender, and they knew there was a need just based off of what I was seeing in their manufacturing space. They were. Seeing an influx of food and beverage entrepreneurs that just couldn't find food grade production space, and that was a big challenge here. We know there's so many brilliant minds. So we needed to give them space to be able to have an outlet to develop their concepts and launch their products. So I think just ensuring that the building we were building was in fact, what was needed. So really understanding the design understanding all the elements of the architecture. The Bill doubt, I do not have a background in building. So I think for me that was a huge challenge. But a great learning opportunity. I've learnt so much about far more about 'electricity and measurements than I ever wanted to. But I think it was really important because these are all elements that go into making an efficient space for food and beverage producer walkers through the space, if you will for virtually give our listeners a tour of what it looks like, and we'll kinds of resources are there. So we have a sixty seven thousand square foot facility it. Houses fifty five private food grade production spaces and a large shared kitchen. So most food and beverage entrepreneurs get their start in a shared kitchen and allows you to rent by the hour. So you don't have as much overhead early on. It gets you in a kitchen you can test your concept, and you can legally produce and sell your product. In addition, we have private kitchen spaces, those are really valuable those are the areas that we found there was just a huge gap in the industry is giving somebody a space that they have access to twenty four seven where they could grow their business. In addition. We also have a culinary training center run by chef Rick Bayless, big well-known shetler, Chicago. He's done so much for the city and for the food industry as a whole he was very passionate about this project because for him. He saw there were challenges in the food service world where there's a big turnover right now with employment finding talent finding finding skilled labors and chefs that can come into the kitchen and stick around and and help build the business, and he also.
