El Salvador Proposes Digital Securities Bill
"We're going to talk about El Salvador. Now, amidst everything that's been going on in the last two weeks. I found myself thinking probably about every other day, what's going on in El Salvador. And so I'm happy that today we get to talk about it. So El Salvador's national assembly is considering a draft bill to regulate digital securities, which is an indication that the country will move forward with its plans to issue Bitcoin backed bonds. You'll remember in March, the country put a pause on these Bitcoin back bonds to Bill was presented by the minister of economy, Maria Louisa hayam, breve, and seeks to establish a national digital assets commission to oversee the regulation of digital asset issuers and service providers Wendy, I'm going to kick this one off to you first. What do you think about El Salvador moving ahead with these bonds? I think that it is absolutely amazing. And I don't want to get into the way that he governs his country. But I really do want to focus on how El Salvador is using Bitcoin as a tool to essentially gain their power back. This is why Bitcoin was created. It was created for the people by the people. And yes, even though president buki is this, I guess that he calls himself the CEO of El Salvador or whatever it is is a joke. I think it is important to note that we're seeing a country that got a lot of slack globally, essentially take their power back and tell people until a lot of these organizations, these big global organizations, we don't need you. We don't need your help. We don't want your help. We are fine on our own. And essentially, they're taking their power back and they're creating their own monetary policy and they're creating their own laws and regulations for all of this stuff. So I think it's absolutely amazing. And it just goes to show that we're starting to see a shift in the way a lot of different countries portray themselves and how they're using Bitcoin to essentially help their people in a positive aspect. So again, 100% here for it. I root for the underdogs as always.
Electronic Voting Machines Are the Threat to Democracy
"Let's hear the audio clip from Tucker Carlson, audio clip number one. And what happened today in Maricopa County where some huge percentage of voting machines, electronic voting machines, according to the Arizona republic, 30%. They claim these are dominion voting machines. But it almost doesn't matter. Electronic voting machines didn't allow people to vote, apparently. And that, whatever you think of it, the cause of it, it shakes people's faith in the system. That is an actual threat to democracy. And it points up the core problem, which is we're not really very serious about democracy if we're using electronic voting machines, or if we're not requiring photo ID to vote, we could have secure elections. We don't because the small number of people don't want them, but until we do, you're going to have these moments where everybody in the country fears volatility because one side doesn't believe the result is yeah, and that's so true. Let me take you back to a column of back from 2019 from sun sentinel. It starts out like this. Governor Ron DeSantis suspended Palm Beach county's elections chief Friday and installed a Republican lawyer to oversee voting during the next presidential contest and one of the state's most democratic counties. A woman by the name of Susan butcher, she was a Democrat. She failed to properly conduct at the time three recounts in the 2018 midterm election. So desantis instead, suspended her and named the West Palm Beach attorney Wendy link after suspending her, her permanent replacement.
Binance Said to Waver on FTX Deal
"It is amazing how quickly things can change in this space. And that is what we're going to spend a good chunk of today talking about. Now, to get you caught up, all sorts of stuff went down yesterday in which sandbach and freed of FTX said that they had come to an agreement with CZ a binance for binance to acquire FTX dot com, pending, do diligence on the part of binance. Now, according to a source today, binance is leaning against getting this deal done. They took a look under the hood and it's not looking good according to a source talking to coin desks the analysis. This is a highly fluid situation, something that has captured the markets and mainstream attention as FTX and binance inch toward a possible takeover. There's so much to go into on this one. Really crazy stuff has been going on in the trading world in the past 48 to 72 hours. But here we are now on the cusp of possible deal, but then again, maybe not. I'm going to throw this to Wendy for her initial thoughts on this whole binance FTX thing, which is just gone crazy and so quick. What's up? So there is definitely a lot to talk about here. There's a lot to break down. I want to come in with this from a business perspective. Business perspective means the LOI, the intent to purchase FTX or to acquire, to save them, is just an intent. It doesn't mean that it's actually going to happen. A lot of people are complaining, especially on Twitter saying that binance kind of started this whole thing by fighting FTT, et cetera. But realistically, that might not be the actual case. CZ did put a memo out a statement out indicating what kind of happened. We don't know the exact story because we're not in internally. One thing I will say from a business perspective, it might not make sense after they do their due diligence process to actually acquire FTX. Another thing that's very important to note is FTX U.S. and FTX official or FTX international are completely two different companies. Right now, FTX U.S. is safe to use. However, people should still consider getting their cryptocurrency off of the exchange. I did that yesterday
Elon Musk's Twitter Deal Brings Dogecoin Back From the Dead
"Twitter has some interesting ongoing. So as we know, it was acquired by Elon Musk and it seems that big changes are coming. So the company plans to let go of 25% of its workforce in a first round of layoffs according to a source and reported by The Washington Post, further the social media company is planning to charge $20 a month for verification, that's according to the verge. If employees building it don't meet the deadlines, they too will reportedly be fired and in separate but related crypto news Dogecoin, the crypto, which Elon has been so vocal over has increased 150% since Tuesday becoming the 6th largest crypto in the world. So a lot going on here with Elon's takeover of Twitter. Wendy, I'm going to pass this one up to you to get started. What do you make of all of these layoffs? So first and foremost, corporate America is completely flawed in a lot of different aspects. I worked a corporate job while I worked for a corporation for a long time and it was an absolute mess. You have all these people that are higher ups that are telling all the lower down people what they need to do, but the higher up people have no idea how customer service works or they have no idea how the actual people below them do their jobs. And I've been reading a lot of different things about Twitter structure and from what I've gathered is sounds like there is a lot of people in management and less people that are actually able to do coding or to do the dev work and make sure the platform is working properly. So I think that it's good to restructure. Again, Twitter is a business. And I repeat this again. Twitter is a business. Elon Musk is a very smart businessman. Hence why he was able to purchase Twitter for approximately $44 billion. He is going to do whatever it takes to make the platform generate revenue. As far as the whole free speech goes as far as him being for the underdogs, again, you guys, he's a businessman. I think that there will be better changes made to the platform. I personally don't mind to pay that $20 fee to remain verified in hopes that it will actually help with the bots some way, shape, or form. I don't know how that's going to work out. I'm excited about it. But again, Elon is not necessarily a friend, guys. He's a businessman, and we are simply a guest on his platform. As far as Dogecoin goes, I'm excited about it. We did pretty well on that trade. And I'm just excited.
"wendy" Discussed on Present Moment: Mindfulness Practice and Science
"And for those who are listening, Wendy and I have known each other for a few years, both were teaching at a particular group that we have both been associated with. And really connected very well in some ways because of some similar experiences and backgrounds we have, but Wendy, I did an initial biome, so people have heard just that little bit, but I'm wondering if you could, well, really tell your story about your background with mindfulness and how you got to where you are now.
Rep. Chip Roy: Elect Republicans
"We've got to get people in office first It's just practical Pretending that politicians are masters of the universe He man and they have these superhuman abilities is insane We need a large enough majority that we can give this swing state or some breathing room while letting conservatives guide the agenda like you Yeah let me agree with a slight amendment which is to say absolutely we should throw out in full force to get every Republican elected running against a Democrat Because if you're a Democrat running today on the democratic ticket you are accepting the terms of this administration and accepting the terms of anti Pelosi to be at war with the American people You are not aligned with our values You are not aligned with the constitution You are not in any way for limited government free enterprise Our faith in the lord almighty and allowing the American people to prosper So elect Republicans And yes I want as big a majority as we can have My slight amendment is I don't accept the premise that these squishes who run in so called purple districts I don't accept that the right way to do that is to cave When I was running two years ago against Wendy Davis in Austin Texas I had an R plus four district It was a tighter district I ran hardcore as a conservative Unabashedly unapologetically And we won by 7 points we outperformed president Trump We had lots of people enthusiastically supporting us even some liberals that were like you know I don't always agree with you but I appreciate that you stand up for what you believe in You got to lead damn it Get up and stand up for something and stand up for America and people will follow
Wendy the Waitress Can't Make Ends Meet Under Biden's Inflation
"Back to Wendy the waitress. So let's say Wendy the waitress, so let's say she tops out. It's 60,000 a year with her tips. You know, not necessarily bad money, but you got to keep in mind, she's got to make up for all the money she lost because these little wannabe dictators were telling her that her job was an essential during the lockdown, so she comes back, let's say she pays the average rent, you know, maybe she's paying about 1300, $1400 a month, but she's a single mom. She's a single mom. She's trying to make ends meet. She's got her little boy. Let's say his name is Timmy. I'm just throwing that out there. You see how I think on the fly there, Sean? But let's say, let's say she's got her little son, Timmy. She's got to make ends meet. She needs a car to get back and forth to work. Unfortunately, she didn't save up enough money. She didn't have money to buy a cash car. She should have bought a cash car, but she decided to buy a used car. She didn't go with a new car, 'cause the new car, the average price of that is $34,635 or $575 a month, so she tried to be a little conservative. She went with a used car so she's paying 430 a month because that's the average. Now she has her grocery Bill. Her grocery bill for seeing her son probably used to top out at about three $400 a month now. She's paying a whopping $800 a month if not more under the Biden administration.
Charlie and Dr. James Lindsay on the Dangers of the COVID Mind Virus
"Are not taking seriously this takeover of every major institution of our children of education, of finance, of sports, of language, and then 2020 happens. So doctor Lindsay was doing all this research and then Floyd a palooza in the summer of 2020 unfolds. They only known cure for COVID. Right, exactly. Where if you're burning down a Wendy's, it's better than wearing a mask. And so really a large parts of the conservative movement I use that term loosely were completely taken by surprise where all of a sudden everything was about race. It was about structural inequity, oppressor versus oppressed, and we are still living through the damage that was implemented from the summer of 2020. And I'm not even talking about the burn buildings. That is true. I'm talking about how they saw their moment to change curriculum, implement textbooks, take over HR departments, be able to change hiring practices, affirmative action quotas. They saw a 90 day window when everyone was locked down and cooped up, took over the entire PR narrative to really introduce in my opinion. This is provocative and the media will find this to be newsworthy. I think that mind virus has done and will do more damage than the Chinese coronavirus. Oh, absolutely. Let's not even a question. And as a matter of fact, he calls it a mind virus. Let's exonerate him a moment and make the media have a slightly harder job than just getting the ignore what I'm about to say. This is totally based and this is one of the things I read in the literature writing those fake papers is there is a paper that was published right here. Arizona state university, two professors. Brienne files and Michael Carter, if you want their names, we like to name names. They wrote this paper in 2016 called women's studies as a virus, and in the paper they explained that these ideologies like women's studies and it could extend a gender erase or whatever you want it to be. Are meant to operate. They said the ideal metaphor for what they do is a virus. They say an ideal metaphor for us would be viruses like HIV, Ebola, SARS, some viruses cause cancer. Well, cancer represents true transformative change. So that's good too. Conservatism, they say represents like the immune system. And normally you need the immune system to preserve the body. But in this case, the virus will be good for the body. So we have to suppress the immune system. This is really how they describe themselves. And
Are Republicans Trying to Help Cause a Blue Wave?
"Dark Brandon strikes again. Yes. All right, I think he is also going to send an arrangement of penis flowers to Lindsey Graham for his national abortion baby, which blows everything Republican. Also, I think he should send some flowers to Rick Scott, who has basically said Republicans want to blow up social security and Medicare. Yes. The guy in charge of elected Republicans in the Senate, Rick Scott of Florida, proposed a plan. I wish I had enough copies to hand, but go online and look at it. I really mean this is serious because they're going to make it hard for you to believe. Proposed a plan requiring Congress to vote on the future of social reauthorization. And I want to remind you, you paid for your social security. Every single paycheck from the time you're a kid, you paid for it. So every 5 years, concrete gets to vote, change, cut, reducer, a limited entirety of social security. Also, we mentioned Ron Johnson, liberal helper. Here we go. Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin. As my mother would say, God love him. He thinks 5 years is too long to wait. He wants to put the vote social security Medicare on the chopping block. Every single year. Let me remind you all again, you paid for social security. You paid for Medicare. It's taken out of every single one of your paychecks. These guys never give up. Well, guess what? We're not going to give up either. Okay. All right. Mark Brandon. Doc Brandon. Carlos, what's going on? Is there a think tank over there on how they can help Democrats with a blue suit? A national ban on abortion. Right. There used to be a little devil now. It's just like, no more. Take away the social security to it. Do it now. Wow. That's like a good idea. Yeah. Right. I feel like they're being the biggest liberal helpers ever. And it's magical. And they're just fighting amongst themselves, right? Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham and Roger Stone hates Wendy Graham and it's fantastic. Big mega rats fight fight fight. Equally awful, yes. Okay, we were talking about, oh, Trump just posted a meme with the queue was like right on his lapel. So QAnon's all going crazy, 'cause now they've gotten the official stamp of approval from captain crazy. Could I have my conspiracy music please? Oh, but Stephanie both parties are the same. I just wanted to say that. Oh, I'm sorry. What now? Both parties are the same. Are they exactly the same? Yeah, nothing to see here. Both according to this. Yeah, thank you. Okay, what is it that the queen is laying in state now? Her funeral is Monday. Yes, she's a Westminster. She is still dead. That remains. She's not a Trump's golf course. I got confused with the name. No, no. Westminster. She's really emotional. She will not be buried in any of Trump's golf courses. As far as we know. This has got some documents to hide. Right. Maybe he's stuffed him in her crown last time. So I don't know. Okay. I don't QAnon. I don't, okay. PolitiFact has dismissed a conspiracy theory that the royal family are part of a line of reptiles. From the constellation Draco, and that they have reptilian blood. That's the one dog junior just killed in that tweet or photo. I saw him sitting on top of one. I thought that was Kimberly Guilfoyle. Okay. No. Yeah, that is a mouth. That's Kimberly Guilfoyle black. That's what she's coming out for the general sex or orals? That's her way of saying the best is yet to come. I guess. Does anyone down junior is more man than I give him credit for? Because if he could take that oncoming and okay. So Don Junior would be the best that is yet to come. Yeah. I just think I'm gonna burn. You said that out loud. Okay, I'm sorry. I need to debunk the latest QAnon Queen Elizabeth. Okay, PolitiFact has had to debunk Queen Elizabeth did not die before September 8th and her death was part of a dark conspiracy involving pedophilia or child trafficking something. Prince was not sacrificed in 2016 when he died on the queen's 90th birthday that year and that he had been put to death as a birthday gift. Like prince, as in. Yes, for instance. As in. Let's go crazy. Right. Yes, was not like Prince Andrew. Look to death as a birthday gift to Queen Elizabeth on her 90th birthday. Why? Why? I want him killed. He's not, he's just named princess. He's not in the royal prince. He's not real. He's not in the line of secession. You've killed the wrong prince. This is the only purple rain. That's not who I meant. I meant OJ, perhaps I've said too much. But his name is prince. And he is fine. Yeah, I don't. Okay. Queen Elizabeth also did not die from the COVID vaccine. Nope. And she was not shot and killed in Detroit. Wait, what? That was Detroit? I'm going to. I won't be needing security. She was going to Paisley park to see prince. That's when Minneapolis. That's in Minneapolis. It's not Detroit. He's on her way. My ticket to Detroit. Now I'm in the wrong area. I have connection. You have to do a layover. Prince is grave, who was killed at for my birthday. Now I've been Detroit. Who booked me to Motown? She missed her connection. Oh, I've been shot. I'm going to see if they have a pedophilia pizza parlor Detroit. I don't help me help mummy. What, why? Do people I don't know. We've always conspiracy theorists, but this is the problem. The former president of the United States just basically put his stamp of approval on this whole crazy cult. Well, yeah, he's just digging the scoop deeper into the tide pool to see what else will creatures lie beneath. Like, well, I can't get enough of the crazy crazy. See, I gotta get a crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy. He's just digging for anybody that can be upright and punch a hole or push a button on a voting machine. Okay. Let's go back to earth one for a moment where President Biden talking about getting real stuff done. With this law, the American people want and special interest loss. Folks, we're going to lower prescription drug costs. Lower health insurance costs. Lower energy costs for millions of families. I want to take the most aggressive action ever ever, ever to confront the climate crisis and increase our energies security. Ever in the whole world. And that's not hyperbole. That's a fact. We're going to build a future, the future. Here in the United States of America, with American workers with American companies with American made products. And after years of some of the biggest corporations in the United States paying zero in federal income tax, they'll now have to begin to literally pay their fair share today offers proof that the sole America's vibrant, the future America's bright and the promise of America is real. Thank you, dark Ryan. Okay. Yes. Okay. The oath keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, the guy with only one good eye. What could I?

Dr. Ashley Lucas: Debunking Myths in '5 Steps to Reset the Scale' Book
"Of the big myths about weight loss is the first thing I learned is this idea that you got to starve yourself with a dramatic caloric reduction and PhD weight loss sort of explodes that myth. Talk about that because that's covered extensively in the book 5 steps to reset the scale that's out this week. Let's talk a little bit about that because most of us think you really got in order to lose weight. You got to starve yourself. Yeah, we're told that we need to eat less and move more, but we know that the body is so much more complicated than that. Our body is not controlled by calorie sensors. And if you really dive into the research and you look at what happens when we severely restrict calories, it's actually shuts down the metabolism. There is increased depression and anxiety and we find that it's just not sustainable and we relapse, regain all the weight that we've dropped. So severely restricting calories being hungry, white, knuckling it if you're dropping weight, just isn't the answer. Maybe you'll drop a bit of weight or a lot of weight, but it's likely to come back. And so we really focus on creating sustainable change and you got to enjoy what you're eating. And I would say that's true for you, Mike, right? I know that was one thing you were really nervous about. It was. He thought that you were going to have to eat like a rabbit and not be able to go to Wendy's, but we've been able to keep that in.
Wendy Williams No Longer Knows What She's Doing
"Did you all see the TMZ live segment with Wendy Williams? Did you see it? Oh my God. It really is so sad and so indicative that Wendy Williams clearly no longer has any idea what she's doing or how she'll face her future. It was really very sad. It was a sad piece and I could tell from looking at Harvey Levin and his sidekick Charles that this segment went into crazy land right from the beginning. And if you look at their faces, they know. It's just awful. So during this segment, Wendy gave an update on plans for her new podcast. I told you that a couple of days ago. But not before she reached down under her chair. And by the way, she's sitting in her purple chair that she used to do her showing a show on. And people said that purple channel was thrown in the street, apparently not because she's sitting in it unless she got a second one. So she's in the chair. Talking to Harvey and Charles, and she picks up her severely swollen left foot and chose it to the camera. And then she went on to say that she is suffering from lymphedema, which is caused by a blockage in the lymphatic system, but Wendy said, you know, that's not going to stop her from getting back out there and making a splashy comeback. But this interview was so bad and so cringey that guys, it's the final nail in her coffin. And it puts an exclamation point on the end of the sentence. What I predicted just how sick she was and how she's never going to be on TV again. If this wasn't a video of a woman on drugs, I don't know what else to tell you. It was that
"wendy" Discussed on Elvis Duran Presents: Celebrity Buzz
"Remember, before being a TV star for a decade, Wendy was a brilliant radio personality and I think for hours when he would do monologues and that's why that 20 minute monologue at the top of her show. That was no problem for Wendy. She could do it because she'd been trained for years to do it on radio. I like the idea of when do you do in a podcast? I love podcasts. I was slow to jump into the podcast world. It was your Garrett. It was you, Garrett, that dragged me in. I didn't really understand them. Now not only love doing this show. I love listening to other people's podcasts. Well yeah, and rightfully so, you know, just like anything new as we just spoke about earlier too, it's weird, you know? Some people get it right away. Others, it might take a minute. Others might not like, they hear the word podcast and they go, oh, phooey. But you know, you realize that it's a part of culture where we're literally in people's heads right now. Listening to us. Hello, we're in your air. We're in your ear. We're stuck in there for 20 minutes. I really enjoy them. I used to love radio. I still love the radio, but the radio you have to tune into at certain times, with podcasts. It's like a streaming service. It's like on demand, I can listen to my Friends, people who I think are my Friends. I'm not really friends with all these people. But in my head, like when did you say is that all the time? In my head, I'm Friends with these people. With the queen of England. Yes. I love listening to podcasts. I think this is a great idea Wendy. The other thing too and let's be honest, podcasts you can do in your pajamas, so Wendy, if you're sick of all that hair and makeup and all that cheesy stuff. I think she loves it. Do you think you know what's weird to rob about the Wendy show ending just like how they're just getting rid of everything. You know what I mean? Like, it's almost like they hired a dumpster and just said, okay, see you later, time to clear things, sherry's coming in, no problem. Nothing to see here. So difficult because Wendy is still here. It's not like she's dead. That buy show felt like an obituary. It was so weird and it was actually Vanessa Williams, who was a guest who stopped sherry and said, she's not dead. She still here, we still love you when to it had to be weirdo, like imagine imagine listening to this podcast rob shooter and then like, you're still alive, you're doing well, you're healthy, but yet we're doing a goodbye podcast..

How Geotracking by 'True the Vote' Might Have Solved Two Murders
"I talked last week about geo tracking, which is one of the key themes and technologies. That is discussed and deployed in the movie 2000 mules. And in the movie, we talk about the power of geo tracking, the first of all, how it is commonly used in law enforcement. It's used by intelligence, agencies, we all have some experience with it because you travel somewhere, you land, you get a notification from the weather channel about the weather, not where you live, but where you just arrived. And obviously that's because they're tracking your phone. That's how they know where you are. And I mean, the only other option would be someone's following you, which is obviously not the case. Now, to validate geo tracking, truth of vote, the election intelligence organization that we've worked in close partnership with. They are the research foundation for this movie. They had a very, well, kind of a brilliant idea. And that was, and they were having this idea in part because they had presented their findings to the GBI, the GBI is the Georgia bureau of investigation. It's kind of the Georgia version of the FBI. And the GBI was a little bit, they seemed a little bit at sea like, you know, what do we do with this? I mean, not they don't know about the technology, but it is obviously being applied in a new way. And so truth of what thought, well, you know what? Any law enforcement agency uses this kind of technology to solve crimes. What about if we pick a couple of high profile crimes that could have occurred in Atlanta at the very period that we were looking at this geo tracking data? In other words, sometimes between sometime in the weeks and months leading up to the election. That's the body of data we have. What if there were some high profile murders that occurred in the area that we have covered that we have data for? Can we help to solve those murders? I mean, this is an audacious idea because think about it. You have private group doing this. Now we have one case. The case of a young black girl, her name is Sakura Turner, and she was shot in the backing out of a parking lot of a Wendy's. This was during a kind of BLM race riot. And we show in the movie, Greg Phillips is talking about this and he talks about how when you look at the location of the van, the little girl was shot in a van and when you look at the direction and trajectory of the bullet and obviously you look at the time, there are only a handful of cell phone devices that could have, well, that are likely to be the shooter. And remember, the true the vote has those cell phone IDs. Now they don't have the names of those guys, but law enforcement can get the names of those guys like that. How do they do it? Well, they go get a warrant. And then they go to the provider, the cell phone provider and go, who are these guys? And they get their names, and there you go. Those are your 5 suspects. So true to vote then turns this information into the GBI. And guess what? Shortly thereafter, do arrests
What Axios' 'Fewest Jobless Claims in 54 Years' Report Left Out
"Since January of 1967, the Labor Department has published the number of Americans who filed a new claim for unemployment insurance benefits during the preceding week. Last week's total that was released Thursday, according to Neil Irwin over at axios. Last week's total was one of the lowest weeks in the history of record keeping. Now, this is an amazing number. The claims numbers are just the latest side of an exceptionally tight U.S. labor market. Companies are not firing people if they can help it and workers who do lose their jobs are finding new ones rapidly. According to axios, well, where are all the people then that need to be hired at all these companies that can't fill jobs? Have you tried to call the airlines? Have you made a phone call to, I don't know, American Express? You waited in line at the drive-through at Wendy's? Good luck with that. You know what they all say? They can't find anybody. They can't hire anybody. There's nobody for the jobs.
The Deeper We Dive Into the 2020 Election, the More Stunned We Are
"The deeper we dive into the 2020 election, I think it really stuns most voters. I think most voters think that our elections worse, I think they did think our elections were secure. But a lot of this hinges on this garbage of this mass mail in voting. In most states now, it is, I shouldn't say most states, but some of those populist states like California or Colorado, Colorado is a great example of how a beautiful state has become a far left wing dystopia. They go from voting in person at a local polling place to everybody getting a ballot. And once everyone gets a ballot, you lose custody, you lose control. And it empowers criminals to break the law and this is something I never understand about people that don't want to talk about voter fraud. So we believe that people are willing to burn Wendy's because they just feel like it loot stores, murder, rape, all these sorts of different things. And yet when it comes to elections, people behave perfectly fine when the entire country and the society is at risk. Now some of the critiques and we don't get this very often I have to say. I don't think this is common. So you got to move on. I want to move on. Trust me. But there were crimes committed and these people have not been held accountable in just now because of the amount of data the petabytes of data that have been combed through. Just now are we getting a complete picture of actually what happened in the 2020 election? And the question is, are you a being that cares about justice? If you don't care about justice, well then you're in the wrong country. If you don't care about fixing problems, you're also in the wrong country. We need to identify what the problems are and fix them. It's very simple.
The Tragic Plight of Black Millionaires
"That we have to address. There's a problem where I think we need a committee, probably a parade, a march, maybe even a riot. I think this problem is such a big deal. We met have to go burn down Wendy's. In fact, it's such a big problem. It might mandate the theft of televisions. It's such a big problem that soon I can start to see people change their profile picture on social media to no longer stand with Ukraine, but instead I stand with black millionaire donors. What? According to The Associated Press, they have a new story. America is so racist. We are so terrible that self made black millionaires, their victims of racism. Emily Haines from the chronicle of philanthropy for Associated Press writes an article here about millionaires of color. And the article is this, quote, how racism still affects millionaires, donors of color. Suppose you're out there that are not millionaires that are working your tail off just to be able to pay the bills, The Associated Press wants you to know, you're oppressing the millionaires. Okay? The millionaires that made it in America? They're oppressed. I could just see it right now. What do we stand for? Freedom against two. The middle class. Why? 'cause they're oppressing the millionaires. What? The Associated Press continues by saying that, quote, the finding of the study demonstrates ways that racism has affected the lives of millionaires of color. From the way they raise their families to the people and the causes they support. So it opens up with this ridiculous anecdote. Again, this is The Associated Press. This is not some sort of brown magazine. Brown university magazine article. This is The Associated Press. The story

"Do you consider yourself good at complaining when it's warranted. Yes the the long standing joke with my family. Is that if if something goes wrong. Like with a service or a business or whatever. The joke is going to write a letter. Because i have a long standing habit of letting people know when i'm unhappy with something and it's always warranted. It's not just because like you know. I was seated at a table or something stupid like that. You know it's always wanted anyway. Tell me your story. So i have two examples. Well okay so we had this laundry flood recently and The first company that we hired to remediate ghosted as midway through the process and it took me longer than it probably should have to go higher up. I couldn't get a response. And i finally went to the supervisor of the person i had been working with them. I felt very guilty about that and cut to the second company that we hired. They were great like ninety nine percent of the time except like at one point they patched a wall and they did like touch up paint in the wrong color. Thank god no. This is one of those things. I was like okay i. They should have asked me right before hitting the wall and then when they realized it was the wrong color then they should have said something. Because it's very obviously not the correct color but this is one of those things where it's like. I'm just gonna fix this myself. Most of us. I'm so tired of having people my house right. But also prior to that i had been the all our communication had been great and i had been thinking like. Oh i'm going to leave them. Good yelp review when this is over a non like can i in good faith being like. They were great but their attention to detail sucks. I don't need them. A negative yelp review. I don't know i'm tempted to leave. No yelp review at all. If i can't leave a positive one no. I think it's fair to highlight all the great stuff that they did and then just say. My only feedback is this. You know what. I mean like it fared. You're not like trashing them known mistake with painkillers. No big deal just say hey look at the wrong paint like can you let us know what the right one is so we can fix this. Okay i have a question. What did they did. They go through your garage looking for the paint. Did they try to paint match it. What did they do know. They had the paint for the inside of the laundry room but the laundry room is a different color than the hallway and they rate to patch some paint in the hallway. And they're close in color but they're not the same because we did like a shade darker in the laundry obviously different when it's on the wall so i think they just assumed these two rooms are both gray. We're just gonna use the same. Hey and then when it went on the wall. I know they knew. It was a problem because wendy. You'll remember. I was texting something's happening. They got real quiet. And they're whispering upstairs and i was really concerned that they had somehow like ruined the brand new carpet that they had put him and they didn't say anything to me and when i went upstairs day i immediately saw. Oh i can see exactly what they did and had just decided. We're going to fix ourselves. 'cause yeah no i definitely definitely think it's fair to because look think about it. From our shoes we go to yelp for everything. Right i do..

I think people don't like me either. I've a wonderful group of retired teacher friends. "Of anxiety to improve our focus productivity communication skills and so much more. Let's find out how. Wendy welcome back to live happy. Now thank you so much. It's great to be back. This is such an important topic because we talk about anxiety all the time. But not like you're talking about it so i cannot wait to have this conversation. You know. anxiety is something that we just automatically think of as being bad so to start as i wanted to find out what made you begin to study it from a completely different perspective so the original inspiration to study it was really just the observation of all the students that i had and all of the incredibly high levels of anxiety that i saw them go through multiple times during the semester particularly at at finals up. But it wasn't just a students it was my faculty colleagues. It was my friends. It was myself and this was before our kovin adventure. And so i just started thinking about what what is it. Why are we having this of epidemic of anxiety. What's causing it. Is there another way to look at it and from the book i think the i core concept is the realization that evolution airily anxiety and the underlying stress response is protective for us. It's there to help us. Protect protect us from outside forces. Negative things fearful things dangerous things and that so far away from how we think about anxiety right now. It is something that we want to get rid of. We won't have anything to do with it. We're we're ashamed of it. We don't want you know we don't want to engage with it. And i thought well wait a second if it's protective. Can we get back to some of those benefits that that protection can confer and that was the kind of original origin of why i got interested in anxiety. And it's so fascinating because even the subtitle calls it are most misunderstood emotion which captures your attention immediately because we all think we understand anxiety. Pretty well let me..

We'd had a really late lunch and my kids and husband were having celery with peanut butter dinner up right there. Why did you have celery on hand. That'd be as my husband went to the grocery store and he enjoys celery with peanut butter. He bought celery. Okay okay. i don't ever celery. I can't stand. I've only ever bought salary yet for thanksgiving as time of year. I by now. There's a lot of information there is help you do not have to do this all on your own. The most expensive highest return help is like a meal. Kit delivery service like wendy and i used home chef in the past but you also need to have a plan for them like. I've definitely had weeks where they've come crap. I don't have a night where i could sit and make these. If you're gonna get those make sure look at your calendar and thought do i have two nights to actually make a full meal do we have. Sometimes there's kids activities or meals out or events where you're not really home makes you have time. So you're not throwing away the expensive meal kit or trying to free stuff and save it for later and repurpose. That's a nightmare. Because of that home chef or even other meal planning kits is like. There's a lot of prep work that goes into it. There's a lot of shopping and saw kane and stuff like that. And when i have time that's not a problem but like i said some nights are busy and i don't have time for that and they go to waste. I've actually pause my subscription for the summer. Because just because i knew that like i wasn't going to put that much effort into it. I me and may revisit. I really wish. I could do it like one night a week but i don't think that's an option. "Painting. No no did i tell you. Did i tell you even thinking about. It makes my hands her. There's no way there's no way so for those who are unfamiliar. First of all diamond. Painting is a terrible name for what this actually is essentially. It's paint by numbers but you use tiny little plastic beads. Would you say that's accurate. Little are tiny you they come in kits. I think you could free it never going to do that. I like the kim. And it's basically comes with a sheet of fabric with the design printed on it and adhesive coating on it and on the sheet of fabric are tiny little circles. Sometimes they come in squares with the one. I use this tiny little circles that are color coded and then you have corresponding teeny tiny little plastic beads. That you use a small tool. Looks like a pen or a pencil to move the beads from a little tray to the painting. And you just repeat repeat repeat repeat you dip the tool a little bit of wax makes the tip of the two a little sticky and then you just tap back and forth and it sticks to the surface of the sabbath i i do. They look stressful. They did not enjoyable and then our friend. Michelle was posting one. She was working on instagram. And so i started asking her questions and so she started showing me video. She was sending me damning video of her a process and i thought that it kind of looked relaxing watching her do it. I was like oh. I do that so i ordered a kit and i do it for me. Ten twenty minutes at a time. I don't because they're so small. The my eyes start to like what i do. Find it in the moment kind of relaxing. I like to do it kind of after dinner while everyone's link kind of buzzing around the kitchen doing their own thing finishing homework cleaning up and i'm just kind of like existing in that space. Just life is happening around me. But i find it very relaxing. I keep it at my desk will. Sometimes we'll sit down and do it for a minute or two while the tv's on in the background. But i enjoy it. I think i'll get another one just to have a project to do. Watch a movie both my kids like. Oh what's that can. I try it. my son was done after two miters like one of those so i might get one pressed together. They're just kind of mindless and for me. It's nice because when i watch. Tv i have a tendency to want another screen in my hand in this forces me not to do that. Okay those things just give me too much anxiety like even hearing you talk about it right now like all wound up about it but my daughter has one. They were very big on tiktok during the summer So we went to michael's and bought one. She hasn't even completed the one that we bought during the summertime But it's not it's a lot of work. It's not like something that you can finish in a day. I don't think cray like it would take days and days of doing it. Mine small but myers yet huge chapel. Our start to finish. Oh hellum mine. Because mine's small towns like five seven. Sized hers is like of the sydney opera house. It's huge anyway. She ended up finding like some sort of tool on amazon. I've had in my journal for a long. Not even a longtime a year maybe It is the poor. Lewis primer petty by elf cosmetics omega. It's like eight dollars. You can get at target tell you can get it from the cosmetics website it is basically a Primer that you put on your face before you put your makeup on. I have both versions like a matt version and luminous version. I use both of them. It just does something special for my face. I'm not wearing a ton of makeup. These days like a ton of like foundation or anything. So when i want to kind of smooth things out i have a lot of pores on my nose and chin and this stuff is magic. It's infused with squall. Lean for hydration. I don't know what squalene is do you. It's an oil. That's okay and it doesn't have silicone or alcohol in it. I love it for eight bucks. It's like blowing my mind right now. I use that daily. And i use the original version do you. You don't have. You don't like the luminous i don't have it i might like it. Sometimes luminous stuff makes my face look gray o like it doesn't react well because my skin so pink. Sometimes if they like have like a little bit of a silver undertone anyway Not all luminous formulas are particularly flattering. But see i think. I look gray. In general i put the luminous on it brings a little life to my face i love it love it love it love it so mine is a craft item are you. Are you picking up. When i'm putting down here. I know that sounds like a weird transition but we appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us and as one last comment heidi says i have also used seabreeze and or clear poor astringent for years and my thirteen year. Old daughter uses it as well guys. This is multiple votes for seabreeze astringent. We may have to do a test. I that is so funny okay. This is like three podcast now that we've talked about seabreeze cheerful. If you subscribe to our youtube channel many of you may know for years and years. Wendy and i created videos together and we created one two three videos week. There are hundreds of videos on youtube channel and in a conversation with them other podcasters. Many people mentioned that they sort of. They put their podcast on youtube. It's a different audience over there a lot of times. It's just an audio with the you know you're not getting video. Podcast content but youtube is huge search. Engine plus we already had a bit of a built in audience over there so we jumped on that train. We're going to be honest. If i still think the easiest way to listen to the podcast is in a podcast app. Right like meet the people where they are and what was really fun. Is i kind of thought. We're gonna put it up there and it's just going to sit there. Because youtube is for visual content and then like an hour later we get an email from stacey who says i used to watch your videos all the time and miss not any for a long time. Your first five. I have a moment of like how dare you and then online. That's that's not our customers. Interact with our and try and move on. Four screen tried against. I think wendy. If it's someone that we know can share it's oh and one other pro for youtube is youtube is a very easy way to caption our podcast. Because youtube has captioning ability built right into what makes our podcast more accessible for someone who might need to read it as opposed to listening to it so that was another great selling point that was mentioned in the conversation that we had and so we will continue to upload podcasts. You can get them in a variety of places. And i'm gonna drop a link in our show notes at magny dot com because like megan said. There's there's like over three hundred videos. Oh least right hundred. There's some funny stuff there. So i would love it if you guys if you've never seen one of our video click on through. See what we offered over there. And i have a quick follow up from something. We mentioned in last week's episode. Okay we talk about dallas cowboys cheerleaders. And boy i know. This is going to be very brief. But as i was editing that episode i did Googling and fell down the rabbit holes of a few different message boards and turns out our girls. Brennan and hannah were very vocal about their discomfort with the protocols that were in place for covert and they felt that they were for show and that they were not actually protecting anyone and they. They both felt that. Perhaps being outspoken about that was part of what led to them being. Let go interesting. I wonder if they have anything in their contracts that they're not supposed to like you know speak poorly of the organization and perhaps i don't fault them for speaking up. I think that's great that they thought that that was important to do. Also i cut this out but We discussed vets who had been dismissed in the past. Because we didn't really have enough information. So i cut it out because it was a lot of speculation but i did want to say one of the vets who was dismissed was named. Who was maybe the very best dancer. The dc has ever seen truly mind blown. If you google deasy holly. You'll see her and she was let go for fraternization with did you ever see. Okay if was really all. It's a really old movie but it's about Being a laker girl and it had teenage mothers in it from family ties and she was trying out to be a lakers girl. I do not remember that. It's like a lifetime. I wouldn't have to look it up but hold on. Let me look it up right now. Anyway a big storyline in there was like you cannot have like any sort of like personal relationship with the with the players of the team and i can't remember but i remember her like her trying to make the team paula. Abdul may have been in it. She was lakers girl. Hold on how young mothers it's called laker girls from nineteen ninety movie follows three spiring candidates for the la lakers cheerleader squad. Anyway one fails to make the cut so to make the team on does not own streaming anywhere. According to just watch. I might have to watch it and buy the dvd for nineteen eighty eight on amazon steep. Its prime now you can have day anyway. How did we get this topic. Are we talking about dc very much. That's a wrap on dc until next season which probably will start this summer. So you've got a little bit of a break. i. I really do love that show though. I don't know why maybe it is. Yeah i think. Maybe in another life. I wanted to be. I mean i did. Pop warner cheerleading as a child by. Maybe i love to be a cheerleader. No dance ability whatsoever. But i would have loved it right. I was envious of high school cheerleaders. Because you wanted to be one. What were you instead that's cool. I wasn't good. You still made the team. yes well. I also received the coach's award my sophomore and junior year award for no it don't for coming to have your practice. This girl who shows up every day terrible but damage. She's their wait. Did you play your senior year long enough to get the p credits that i needed. I played soccer. And i ran track so i wouldn't have to take p you ran track. I can't even imagine yet. They're completely entertaining. I always learn something when. I listen and i typically and up laughing out loud and episode. Thank you ladies So nice thank you dory. That is nice. One hundred percent of our goal with podcast is for it to feel like. You're chatting with friends so totally. We also talked about how we love your emails when he actually loves any eleven email if they want to send one yeah We can be reached at megan and windy at. Go dot com. It's not hard to remember. We want to hear thoughts about the show things. You want to hear us talk about criticism. Whatever we're all ears. I could see you curling in on yourself as you say the word criticism i know we nice but you can always find that e mailing to nurture notes to forget although it is pretty easy. It's on our website and we got an email last week From heidi after our episode about friendship and we got feedback from a couple people about that and we wanted to thank everyone again who left us comments on instagram and on facebook that we shared on the show A couple of them came after we had recorded and so i show them in our instagram stories. And we appreciate that But one of the things that heidi says is definitely relate to the friendship portion of the podcast today and had a hard time during the pandemic with friendships. Not the best at initiating stuff. I think struggling with so many other things has made it hard to connect with people. And she says i found that after moving out of state for a few years i lost a lot of friends and when i return to california i felt lost. I had a hard time connecting with people. I even felt like i lost my confidence of being a good friend. I can really relate to that. And i think feeling like you might not be a good friend makes it hard to be a good friend because you're not sure how the steps you take in friendships are going to be received I'm kind of real sad to read that email has heidi is a high school friend of mine and It breaks my heart a little bit thinking that like she feels lonely and disconnected from people. So heidi if you're listening you can always reach out to me and i'll read out back to you. I'm so sad. Well i think this is really relatable. She says i'm often jealous. When i see people on facebook of a bunch of girlfriends and they get together and often have lunch drinks etc I don't feel like. I have that kind of bond with women and you know. That's so one thing windy and i talked about early on is i always had like. I was really sad that it wasn't invited to join anyone's bubble and i read an article in la times. Will lincoln in the show. Notes about this woman had tried to create a pandemic pod for her kid tried to create a bubble and she ran into roadblocks at every. Turn you know families that she thought might share. Her level of cautiousness has weren't necessarily ready or you know one family would say well we love to but we also see grandparent's and we see my sister who's a healthcare worker and we you know so then she just kept running into all. These roadblocks in terms of finding this bubble. And i can really relate to that because we have you know didn't really connect with anybody who had our same level of cautiousness. Who was really willing to think. You really have to be willing to make a commitment if you're going to do that sort of thing. Sure but that's ed seems like lots of people out in the world down a way to make it work and i've definitely been very envious of people who are like getting together with friends and traveling with friends. And even if i wouldn't do it i still feel envious of them of course shink. Here's what i want. I have a couple of things to say one. I don't think what you're seeing on. Media is are people who are actually in bubbles. I think they're just living their life. They went the way they want to live their life. You know like hashtag masks off for the photo right just calling it. Their bubble and totally totally The other thing is this is why i hate social media like it hurts my heart to see that kind of stuff like i don't typically suffer from fomo but this past year i have just been seen people like i know. I can't have it both ways. I want to do these things. But i also want to stay healthy and i think there is a moral aspect to that as well so I'm conflicted but i think overall i'm just like i please don't post that shit on the internet like i don't wanna see it like yes. I know it's fantastic. And it feels great to post pictures that you are on vacation or you went somewhere and i am guilty of it too but there are people who are choosing not to do that and i think it just makes people feel worse when they see it. You know in our instagram feed. We post pictures of the two of us. That are all old every picture you see where we are next to each other is pre pandemic and i always put a disclosure. I kind of get a little tired of writing it. Because i think people get tired of seeing it but i also think i wanna make it very clear that we're walking the walk You know we have billions of photos and we're using them to paint a picture but also it's not happening right now like we're not just saying like you know where asset because we're gonna be in the same house together because that's not happening right..

"Her staff felt very threatened being close to him because you know the physical proximity and the court basically had to physically put barriers in between them to ensure the prosecutor and her staff and their safety. The toxicology report was kind of i would say a wash. It showed that. Wendy had some narcotics. Her did show that she had percocet but not so much that it would have rendered her incapacitated her which fits with what you'll the said. They said she was out of it but not completely the defense. Obviously a scotto on his team is using this to say no. She just took a little bit. We didn't put this in her drink then. The medical examiner took the stand and said he believed wendy was hit by two assailants which was somewhat of a shock. But not really. Do you know what it was based on. Yeah there was some of the blows to her one look like come from a right handed person another from a left handed person but that could be it could be but you might also then say well. Maybe you'll lonzo participated even more than she actually said she. Was there actually helping him and physically harming wendy or hurting her maybe. She participated more than she said she did. There was no dna from a scotto found on wendy. No weapon found. We know that but what in his dna had been on her anyway if they were together the hotel. Yeah right so that's right now. That's that's washington and you just didn't have the dna evidence. After a bizarre seven-week trial prosecutor gail levin would give her closing explaining that she would love to charge yolanda. But she didn't because of her deal. And i want you to remember that because i want to discuss this deal a bit more. That's what the prosecutor said. She got up and said you. Llandough surreal is disgusting person. She's guilty. I want to charge her too. But i can't unbound by this deal. I made with her and without her we would have never gotten him and he was the mastermind. This is his con his murder. Scotto had his court appointed counsel provide the closing. He hadn't done a good job maybe up. This was his last ditch effort. He said the case was circumstance. He got up there and say look. This is a circumstantial case and really there was never enough evidence to convict to scotto. He pointed to the obvious killer. Who made a deal on the stand and saved her. Hide implicated a scotto. But what would the jury think. There was a verdict in less than three hours. What do you think amy too short. Yeah and what do you think that means guilty. Guilty of first degree premeditated murder as scotto had no reaction. The family cried out an obvious relief and possibly joy that wendy would have some justice..

"Yulon takes the stand. Yolanda would finally tell the court family and spectators. What she said really happened to wendy. And that's what everyone was waiting for so this was on her direct examination i. She said that she was heartbroken. By michelle's decision to leave her just setting the stage but then she said that michelle was just going to marry wendy for the money and then wendy would die and they would get back together. Good yolanda said that she helped michelle plan and carry out his crime. Now i just want to say that you'll want had said before when she struck the deal that she helped afterwards on on the stand she is telling a different story. She is now explaining that she helped in the planning and at various stages. She premeditated this murder with him so she's no longer immune issue. That's a question that we're gonna. That's the thing that i want to ask you later in what you think because initially when she negotiated the deal it was that she had done things afterwards to help them cover up she knew and whatnot. Now what we're hearing at trial. Wait till you hear this. She said that she helped. Michelle try to simulate drowning in her own tub of herself basically had michelle drowned her to see what it would look like. Would it leave physical marks at and this was her idea and she said that after she came up from the water because she You know almost got close to drowning. She told michelle. No you can't do that because it's gonna leave marks if you hold her down. She suggested that he drugged wendy. Do not go out and then drowned her using a towel to hold her down instead of hands so that it wouldn't leave those marks. We were just talking about. And she's saying on the sand all this on the stand and she's crying and talking about how she's remorseful or she might be remorseful or she might be a complete antisocial. Yeah i mean on the stand. She's crying but you don't know if she's crying for it's fake. Uganda helped him grinded up. They got percocet and they grind up basically the percocet that she did it. Like with a mortar and pestle l. Sorry no she didn't get the drugs but she he got them and she helped grind them up so she's again at every step she's planning she's helping a sotos slip. The drugs in wendy's drank that night in the hotel the hotel. They went to near their home but he couldn't drown her. And i don't know if it's like he couldn't go through with it or did he. Just couldn't she was still. Wendy wasn't completely out so he put a clearly out of it wendy in the car and took her to.

"Police said that you know he was cooperative but they were suspects because this is a story that just doesn't add up now that wendy's been identified. They know she's been murdered. They've spoken to michelle. They have to start to put together the pieces here and the police find out pretty quickly that michelle and wendy. Were part of the swingers lifestyle in miami beach. Yeah is that way they were at the hotel. No and it seems that this is it seems that they may were on the fringes not flee merced more like this was michelle's desire and maybe an i don't think it was wendy's but maybe she participated in some things you know. It's unfair to because she's not around to say what and it's really more of his word the problem or the the good thing. I you whichever way you look at it as this emerges as a possible motivation for the crime that some type of sexual swinging situation went awry. Did i'm sorry. Did they find this out from a shell or from other investigative. They found that from michelle talked about it. He talked openly and freely about it and he describes himself as club goers and we also partook in. This isn't a swingers. So they found or he's just trying to set up a i was gonna say so you can either say why would he tell them that. Well perhaps he's trying to provide them with like you had mentioned on alternative. Yeah okay so the police are looking at. This is this is there. Is there some involvement with someone. They met at a swing swing clubs. Maybe someone became obsessed with wendy also. She was this young beautiful vicious woman. Maybe someone's following them so they look at this as an angle. And i think they take this serious we also have someone else emerge as key suspect in the investigation and that was yolanda scenario. She was the ex girlfriend of michelle goto and she was very much still in love with him. Can i ask was wendy sexually assaulted at all. No signs of sexual assault at..
