Scientists worry virus variant may push up COVID cases in US

"Some scientists are worried that the latest virus variant may push up covert nineteen cases in the U. S. Dr Eric Topol who's the head of the Scripps research translational institute says it's inevitable we will see a BA to wave here adding the uptick should start in the next few weeks one reason pandemic restrictions have been lifted across the country and many people are taking off their masks and returning to restaurants and theaters right now the CDC shows overall covert nineteen cases have been trending down but they share caused by the highly contagious B. Michael Anton: Analyzing the Left's Reaction to 'Don't Say Gay' Bill

"In But I saw last week one of these things you talk about all the time is how the left wants to pretend these things don't happen They have this thing That's not happening but it's great that it is CRT That's not being taught And then we find it and be like and if you oppose it you're a racist I thought it wasn't being taught So and I saw it again last week there's a bill in Florida they're calling it the don't say gay Bill Of course it does nothing of the sort It basically just prevents young kids from being indoctrinated about sex at an early age and it's funny they're like hey listen that's not being taught in schools but if you oppose it you're definitely a bigot I got about a minute and a half left your thoughts on that Very typical tactic They push things the left gets into positions of power again This is a failure of conservative part because we tend not to run for these low level offices We tend not to show up at school board meetings Some of that's changing now In general we do we don't It leaves the left of free hand And then they surreptitiously try to sneak things in that they know will be very unpopular with parents or with the public at large When they get caught then they have to deny that it's happening Because if you admit it you're just turning up the heat on yourself But they both deny and admitted at the same time They say it's not happening but it's good that children are learn different perspectives and learn tolerance in this Well which is it Both are intended to downplay the significance and to mollify public anger but to do so dishonestly To me it is a heartening sign that these things do keep getting found out called out I mean Chris rufo has done just heroes work fighting against critical race theory It's not a battle that's won It could take a long long time to win But it shows what happens when you shine a light on this stuff and you can motivate people to get involved and show up at meetings and things like that You can make progress at pushing back against this

Hugh Hewitt Hates to Lose to Mike Gallagher

"Because when he hates to lose to me, let me give you a share with you a dirty little secret. He always does. He always does. He loses to me in every category. I mean, every category, every one of these I mean, audience size revenue, donor campaigns, he always. He's usually second. But he's second. He's never first. Once in a while, he gets a victory and then he gloats about it for months because it's so big. It's such a big deal to him to beat me. Let me share with you what he said. Again, I didn't start this, and I'm not always comfortable. I see Tracy shaking her head. We're a little nervous here about this because I don't want to hurt Hughes feelings. I do want to hurt his producers feelings 'cause he's a jerk. But Hugh Hughes a nice guy. Generalissimo. He's a lost cause. But Hugh, I like you. Don't always agree with him, but I like it. He doesn't like it when I pick on him. But then he always starts it. For example, here's what he said on his show this morning with the angel tree campaign. All of you can participate in angel trade. And dozens and dozens of you stepped up this week. Now Gallagher, God love him. Gallagher gets to operate when the phone center is open. And so he's just lapped me in the first week. First two days his lap me. I've raised tens of thousands and he's raised double that by asking his audit. Now, my audience is bigger and they like me more than Mike, but Mike has got that phone call center running, and I'm done, dark. People have to use the Internet with me. So please go to Hugo at dot com. Don't let Gallagher get too far ahead of me. I'll close in the end. I'll find some big donors to close in

"You know although the book requests I made a proposal to our friends at fox that I do a Saturday book show I think that would be interesting You know the very latest show on Sunday or Saturday because there's a lot of great authors with a lot of great books and I can't use life liberty and live in as a matter of policy turns out Which is only once a week one or two guests a week For books because if I have a number of friends and colleagues and it just makes it impossible it's very sad because these are people I want to help and these are fantastic books And so on radio because it's 5 days a week not once a week Three hours a day not one hour a week In the audience is actually larger on this program than on Fox for any of the Fox shows for that matter We try to do our very best in supporting excellent authors and people and excellent books On the radio program So I just wanted to point that out

Americans Find Ways to Remember Fallen Soldiers in Afghanistan

"I wanna talk about yet to great comms. This week one on atom lacks all. We can talk about adams campaign off. And you're right he fuses the party. It's a national race. Nevada is everything. It's the fifty first vote but earlier in the week probably five days ago. Americans have not forgotten that thirteen soldier. What you mean. Of course your headline writer got wrong. It's eleven marines. One navy cormon. One soldier killed in the afghantistan suicide bombing last night. John draws five for fighting concert talked about them. Repeatedly played blood on. My hands also played a couple of songs. All for one really. Americans have not forgotten any of those who've died or been wounded in this war but the national news media has. Yeah absolutely you know what's really is. Founding is immediately when this happened. You started seeing these these These these table settings ray at ad bars as hubs a restaurants where where there would be a a table set for this thirteen Men and women who lost their lives in afghanistan. And then you would see the thirteen years and then you would see in like white tablecloth restaurants thirteen glasses of wine and then went even further and it hasn't stopped. I see it around where i live where people have thirteen chairs in their yard just With with their team flags Setting decided it and And and and people are showing it in all kinds of different ways and it hasn't gone away and i think what the national media is missing and what this administration is missing is. This moment has left an imprint. On the american psyche people have have really Sort of paused and thought about afghanistan and thought about how we left and have not let go of that. And i think the important distinction is is. It's not because they didn't want people to leave what they wanted. Awards show still go on. It's not about that at all. It's about how we left. They argument isn't the disappointment and sadness and and the Sort of imprint. In their brain is about how we left.

Chiefs vs. Chargers: Kansas City Defense Looking Weak Ahead of Sunday's Game

"All right folks will this next game that we've got Is going to be against our division rivals. The kansas talk Yeah so let's take a look at a couple of games for them. Their first game of the season was against the cleveland browns. That's who they played in the playoffs last year Let's see patrick. Mahomes put up over three hundred and thirty yards three touchdowns in that game Tyreek hill almost got two hundred yards. Goodness gracious On that game with a touchdown. And travis kelsey seventy six yards with two touchdowns so clearly we know who favor targets are guys from that game tyreek hill and travis kelsey They were pretty comparable as far as their stats go. Cleveland was able to put up a four hundred fifty seven yards. That's a big difference I think the big thing here is the rushing yards in this game in the next game. They they've put up very few rushing yards and they put up seventy two their week. One game against the browns. They put up sixty two week. Two against the ravens. So i'll and then the ravens put up to fifty and the browns put up one hundred fifty three so just looking at this and how close these games are this. Kansas city chiefs team is defense. Isn't what he was no. You can clearly see that. And i'm looking at these stance here. It looks like against baltimore. Game tyreek hill only got fourteen yards leagues. What happened here. So they've they've shut them down. While i think that's you know we put this in here to just show the fact that if we can lockdown kelsey and hill and just moderately. Stop the run. I think we're going to have a good chance and we just need to score touchdowns like you're gonna have to score thirty to beat these

Why the Browns Should Feel Good After Losing to Chiefs

"Joe thanks for joining us. If you're a browns fan. How do you feel today. I think you feel great. And they should feel great because going into the season everybody wanted to tell them but how great they were and you always worry about your toll in that first game. I know they didn't win but they beat kansas city in that game. If you watch it from start to finish and it's just a matter for them now just learning how to finish down the stretch. This is a team that turned the entire organization and franchise around when kevin's too fancy. Got there the mentality has completely changed. The culture has changed now. Just learning how to win down the stretch but having the chiefs who two years ago they won the super bowl last year there in the super bowl a lot of people thought that they probably could have won that super bowl and going into their place in week one and really playing him. I don't think that that is anybody's something that anybody should be ashamed of if you're a browns fan

"Some downfield throws that he was able to get like. That's a completely different. Look than what you receive to shawn watson these last few years that's the point of making compla- okay brooks convenient joins us houston chronicle. What was the biggest weakness. Take away from the game yesterday. Well you know they've the thing you you saw like all right so i'm doing a film breakdown here. I watched all last night. I've been putting it together. That's gonna come out in a few hours here. The thing that really is kind of a question here is are the texans going to be able to run the ball in short yard situation and they were not doing that. Very effectively Whenever you saw them platoon three y three tight ends at once marking room. The only one getting ball at that time and most of the time whenever it was third one or or in the goal line situations they were getting stuff on all of them. I mean he had. I believe it was four carries for you. Know or five carries for four yards in those situations got stopped on a third-down couldn't punch it in the goal line. Sometimes that that's going to be one of the biggest issues here because this is the jaguars. Defense such struggle lately and they had to restructure the entire front and they had to manufacture those yards short yardage situations to be able to get the minimal yards that they were able to there. If you're if you're going to found the offense on a ground game to open up everything else whenever you get in those situations. They're going to your guys not able to do it. That's going to be a problem And you know tyrod. Taylor did get away with a couple of throws mean. It's very first throw was authority out outside. That almost got ticked off like they were instances that they played clean football. But are they going to be able to overcome those things whenever they're not picking up first down whenever there are..

"The guy was the first guy ryan lamar jackson his second year. He went on to win the mvp. Give me jalen hurts. Mvp at avon stop it. And let's go. We're in this nice very nice. You're embarrassing yourself. I am jalen. Hurts to lamar jackson as a physical specimen. No lamar jackson is a freak. And i think he's probably a better runner. But i think the eagles offense is probably a better system in a better place. Then then the ravens offense was the second year he took it over and they schemed up a perfect game. perfect season. perfect offense. And i think he's gonna come in and do that. Eagles are thirty. Five and twenty four against the spread is road underdogs since two thousand and five. The eagles do well when there's no expectations. I dusted off that stat about them in seasons where they have less than eight wins on the wind total. They exceed expectations eight and three when they have a win. Total of less than eight. They're going to exceed people's expectations. And i'm just out on the falcons. As a whole i again. I do think how pets really could get theirs. But i think ultimately the line play will be the deciding factor so confident in them. He's wearing the jersey of a retired man for the right. Right call him. A man is spitting in the face of reggie white. He is a legend. Reggie white the minister of defense. I guess i'm channeling the spirit of the minister of defense because we're going on a sack parade. The leader in nfl sacks. Let's go although you know your boy got a cheap one. And that's why. I had the season long these long record so things that were positive. Eagles not worried at all about the secondary against this falcons team i. I mean if you're listening to the show right did say. I am a little worried about ridley pits. I think they get theirs. But i think they're able to hold them enough and our our linebacker play a lot better than it was nate carried on the team. That is a massive upgrade. Alex singleton is a canadian. Beast this game being a low scoring game that's completely settled in the trenches. And so i just don't see how the eagles keep pace if this out atlanta offense scoring. i've i obviously not fading all the teams in the division. I took the football team. I just think in this spot I was looking to already take the falcons at three and a half once seeing the preseason and seeing the shakiness of the defense for the eagles it gives me a little bit more confidence that a team like the falcons specifically should be able to exploit what they have and so obviously. I'm gonna lay to three. Here's sean. this is a crazy number. Eagles plus three and a half. You can find a three and a half. If you do your work here we go or maybe just you know by a half point win bed okay. Ten am seattle. Heads the indy. I feel like this game has been played before week one indy. The colts lost three at home. Plus one thirty on the money line. Seattle minus one fifty fifty is the total. Sean carson. wentz he's made he's migrated west. He's now a quarterback for the colts you brought his curse with them russ has hired a new general manager for his for his kitchen and he will be hopefully cooking to start the season. I don't know i. Obviously we're i think we're both kind of team russ here team limited and so I guess maybe wanna throw some real objective reasons. Why why you take the seahawks. I hate carson wentz cower to ask that of philadelphia we don't want you carson wentz. And he's busy tweeting about ducks you know who's actually going to be hunting ducks on sunday. The seattle defense and the ducks are gonna come from carson wentz and his wobbly noodle arm because he he's he's coming off a broken foot he's coming up on the cove list. He has no report or chemistry with any of these receivers for the colts. They're going to be able to load the box against jonathan taylor. That's really again coming back to the offensive line issues acquitted nelson who we are a huge fan of on the program. Very good offensive. Lineman were drafting as high as they did. He didn't he didn't wednesday. He's dealing with a back injury he also coming off that foot injury. The same foot injury that that that carson wentz hat things are contagious. There could be missing. Xavier rhodes one of their best cornerbacks. He's day to day. The calf injury and really the big hole is at left tackle. Anthony costanzo retired eric fisher. Who's coming off an achilles injury. That happened late in the season happened in the playoffs. And now he's coming off an achilles injury he then he just got put on the covert list. He's one day off the code lists and the achilles injury it seems like they're rushing him back to play week one and maybe he plays but if he does. I can't imagine he's going to be that effective and then give me. Jamal adams otherside he he. Jamal adams really found his stride late in the season. Sack quarterbacks breeding turnovers. I'm very excited. What shane waldron brings the seattle offense in the culture of cursed week. One twenty thirteen was the last time they won an opener here. I think i guess maybe you talk yourself into the home dog with the colts have plus three. But you can you know. Get that two and a half either way. I'm super high on seattle and again. russell wilson. The same reason why. I'd take seattle wind total over every year. Russell wilson wins games. Twenty twelve eighty five and sixty nine and six against spread twenty one fifteen and twelve in non conference games against the spread. The guide takes care of business. What's not like about seattle all right. Let's add a couple of things one Which one of these teams you profiles more as a team. That's going to excel on turf. Seattle people that hate on jamal adams and the contract and all that cool look at the way that he was deployed in this defense once. They figured out what his strength was. He had how many sax last year sean as many as really good defensive lineman. Yeah no and. I think he was close to setting the record. I believe. Yeah for defensive backs a nine and a half so especially in a game where you're gonna have offensive line deficiency. You have seattle team that has in the past found ways to get pressure. And you have a quarterback who when he is pressured is willing to make bad bad decisions and turn the ball over. You have an opportunistic defense. When they've been at their best so perhaps carol in the boys can have them do that but most importantly i'm just bullish on the idea that if they really russ was pissed off just as pissed off is some of these other quarterbacks that were making news and everything school now and part of what's cool about it is rough seas what the game plan is going to be in that game. Plan on board invoke him cooking. They're going to give a little gas. Let them cook at least early castle until the defense gets tired and they turn it over and pete carroll get scared of new thinks full disclosure. Seattle is a bit of a public row favorite..

"Game with defenses. I just don't understand how this is a three point spread. These are not even teams on a neutral site. This is one dame that is a cohesive unit that has had winning success on the field versus another team that is coached by cliff. Hitchens kingsbury and they weren't even that good last year shawn's about to tell you know and they really kind of fell off a cliff. Once cuyler got banged up. I mean their wins are are inflated by that you know. Hail mary play de'andre hopkins but really here. Their cardinal secondary is really bad. They lost darkwa denard. He's on the are then. Malcolm butler decides to randomly retired to the point that we were like wait what he retired. The cardinals are starting cornerback. Byron murphy who hasn't played since twenty eighteen. I was all over them. My fest lineup. And i'm all over them here for the game. They play well at home. They have derrick. Henry julio jones and aj brown or gonna eat with ryan tannehill at the helm. I think this could game script. Wise be a little bit of a shootout. But i just don't think arizona. Ken compete. you're taking a non conference. you're fading and non conference road game here for arizona. They're going on the east coast tennessee of the two teams. I'd rather take bug depre-. I know he's coming off an injury but the cards brought in. Jj watt which. The name sounds great. Put the guys kind of i bowed hall of famer but his better days are behind him. I thought to be able to provide a massive has here and the titans seven in sixteen against the spread non conference home games. Tanna hill is a solid quarterback. He's battle-tested collar. Murray is actually going to stick to his guns and not run that i love this game even more even if he runs a little bit to get them back into the game. I think tennessee. I just don't see how they don't put up thirty five on this arizona team and if they do that how do they not cover monastery. They comes down to like i guess. People are maybe galaxy. Branding branding the exit of arthur smith. Maybe they're high on cuyler because he got him a lot of fantasy points. I honestly like if we were guessing. What the numbers were going to be. I think i'm even on record saying this earlier. In the off season when i told you to get two and a half. I thought this. I felt like a trick. At least three and exactly. I think we said it was a trap. At least three and a half. I mean again on a neutral field. I don't think these are even teams. Tennessee is a team. i get it. They don't have a good defense but their offense can carry them the whatever. Let's move on. This was one of those teams. This is one of those games. Whereas i was doing the prep. This number is maybe three point short and it seems like one of those games where it's so obvious but the fact that it trap the fact that it's up to three. Do you have the the money splits ryan. Because i feel like for us. It's really obvious. But i think enough. The public is going to be on arizona that it won't end up in trap as we think it's like fifty five forty five. I mean it's a little bit in the mix all right. That's all we need to know which tells you that the move you know. What is the move then. May maybe they were just expecting. One thing and people are are wising. I don't know. I i think people were you have. Fantasy is huge. Now i think fantasy has the ability to influence betting more than ever. You have a lot of new people joining the betting the betting window from fantasy. And i think you know. Fantasy hype is real fantasy hype israel and so's the hype with big wireless carriers. They sell you owe a. It's going to be easy. Don't worry about it. And then there's always some fine print where you end up getting ripped off when i heard mobile is having mobile plans for only fifteen bucks a month. I thought there's got to be the catch but there is no catch in fact their secret sauce right. that's right. Their secret sauce is that they don't have retail stores. How do you eliminate overhead costs ryan by getting rid of those retail stores. They don't have to turn the lights on. They'd have to hire a bunch of people. Walking around the assigned spinner costs in this economy. Men mobile doesn't have that they know it's a waste of money. They pass the savings onto. You mean mobile offers premium wireless for just fifteen bucks a month text and talk high speed data all unlimited.

"One of the best. Ats records in the league. A couple things note sean. We have a revenge angle. Here bills defeated the steelers. Twenty six to fifteen Other than that. I know you're going to bring up the fan narrative with the buffalo team the only kind of outstanding question. And maybe something happened the last couple of hours but t. j. watt tj. What is he did his first practice so that to me signals. He's gonna play by all accounts. Tj why is gonna play of t. J. watt doesn't play. That obviously is huge for their chances. That being said this is crazy. That's gotten up two points. I love the bills. I have the bills winning the super bowl. I think they're really good team. I think having the home crowd will be huge for them. However pittsburgh is a good team. Petrov's burger looks healthy. He's slimmed down. I think they're going to be able to move the ball now. Harris is going to get a massive workload. We've talked to our bills. Insider the donna bills mafia here. He's worried about fryer. Move having a decent game. They're going to be able to move the ball and they're going to be able to get enough pass rush against the bills to make this interesting and it is a revenge spot for the steelers a team. That just doesn't get embarrassed a bunch and they're just the solid team overall in the tomlin rothlisberger era. They win games more importantly they cover spreads especially as a dog. This is crazy pittsburgh as an underdog since twenty eighteen. Seventeen results kramer. Guess how many times. They've covered all of them know. That is horrible. Guess fourteen and three though to be all about close come on at me shamefully with that. I was a good thing. You can do better than that. You're going to have some hot take. All of them would have the steelers offensive line. Maybe still has some issues. But they're going to be in this game and a seven point spread with ross rothlisburger with those dynamic pass catchers with the anti johnson maple tron who just love saying his nickname. They're going to be in this game. I don't see buffalo covering seven. That's where things get walking. Also i don't. I know we don't like to talk about it. But the buffalo offense took a massive step forward last year We don't we didn't speak about it a lot. But you know could josh allen. Come out and do josh allen things against an elite defense that average three and a quarter sacks per year last last year absolutely now. Do tj watts going to need to be on the field to be part of that made me rushing the passer running back you can just come out of a hole down define maybe he plays a couple of years now. I mean he looked in shape. He's strikes me as one of those guys is not sitting around getting super fat. Yeah i just think that the josh allen outlier season outlier jumped from your two to three last year. Maybe it shows up early in the season but tear point. Seven points is way too many. I think every year we have these moments where we forget how good. Nfl teams can be watched. Preseason where we saw nothing from defenses did see big. Ben look pretty these well. He didn't have the off season elbow issues this this year so he got over that that. It's a real addiction interdiction. But i think more it's just i think we're going to see some teams roll out really good defenses. That people seem to forget. What a good defense can do and to me specifically against the past like this could be josh allen. Multiple turnover game Money line is potentially in play here as much as i'm fearful of the bills winning five hundred at home and see maybe the bills getting sleepy week one and led a lose a game to a very good steelers team. I i think that's certainly in the realm of possibility. But especially with seven points and entire touchdown with the steelers seems way too many and i can only imagine and i haven't mentioned that the split the money but i can only imagine money must be coming in on the bills to push this. That's crazy because i was looking at this number at six and a half the entire week. I think it opened even at six. It's slowly creeping up happily. Take these free points i well. So far we're lockstep danger. That can be a good thing all right next up. We have the sam darnold. Revenge spot carolina minus four and a half hosting the jets minus two forty on the money. Line jets plus one. Ninety forty four is the total This this jets team was trash last year. Two and fourteen but they were six ten against this bridge on carolina's five and eleven nine seven against the spurs teams that both over performed to the spread last year compared to their actual record. It does seem like an. Maybe i'm just influenced by the fantasy community but it does seem like the jets is one of these teams like the jaguars we forgot. They wanna combine three games last year. Where we're just like. Oh yeah got these players. They're fun they're just going to have offenses not so fast. I mean i think it's scary. Probably the latest. Many points with sam darnold. Yes and maybe that. Watch imagine watching sam darnold last year and thinking. Oh that's a guy. I wanna lay five and a half points so scared to do it and you said it's four and a half. It was as high as five and a half. I'm surprised to see the line moving that way but at four and a half. I'm still and this is. Maybe i'm getting a little too cute early in the season. Have done that before for. You are the good-looking side of the table. But maybe i'm getting a little too cute but to me on and it's weird because i liked carolina overall as a team but i am worried about their offensive line. There right guard. He's on the cove list. He's going to be out. Cam irving is not a amazing left tackle. And i think what i like about. The jets is robert sala. I'm robert saw. I think he can again. One of the other reasons why i think maybe the slightly below market on the forty niners robert sala can scheme up some a pass here on sam darnold now i know same donald robbie anderson possible revenge game here but you look possible. Yeah and you look at the line play. I actually have the jets offensive line. Has the better offense of line mci becton a couple of hiccups in the preseason ba last year you looked like a pretty legit left tackle..

NFL Picks and Predictions Ahead of Week 1

"About the nfl week. One right around the corner where you been doing. Our nfl picks podcast tomorrow. But is there any sort of early liability that you're already having to move numbers a little bit just based off of where the actions coming in. I've seen a number of small road favorites even non conference road favorites which typically red flag. But i'm having trouble talking myself into some of these dogs as a as a senior trader. Is there something you're keeping your eye on there like an eighty twenty split already that you're you're seeing so you don't like the lions and i do to live not not to win outright but san francisco strikes me as that team the forty niners that is going to ruin everyone's survivor contest. Everyone's three-team teaser. They're just it's too easy. I've been gambling for too long and al and you know as as the guy works behind the book bets like those. It's too easy dangerous showing you. I mean you're talking to guys who are considering the texans one mixture of lawrence and three point road. Favorite team was more than fifteen last year in survivor pool. You have to go those routes if you pick the same stuff everybody else that's gonna pick you're never gonna win. Need those good teams at the end of a chance. Someone all so i don't this respect. Respect the texans. But you know i think basically when you go into week one you know what sides are going to need right. We're going to need the lions to beat parleys. We're going to need bears games interesting. I think that we'll we'll see some decent sharp action that's been driven up. They still have the shawn watson we know. Travelers is gonna be good but peyton manning threw how many picks in his rookie season a little rough. So i don't think that's a slam dunk. Our road road favorite. But yeah i mean you know who are gonna need the near the bears against the rams.

"week one" Discussed on How to Study the Bible

"World. You may be on here right now in thinking am i. Prone to do and guess what guys. Yeah we're all proud to do that. We are all prone to do that because we are all living in this world. That has a very very very strong current that is leading us toward this problem and the problem is that the truth has been exchanged for ally and in that exchange. There's been a worship exchange rather than actually worshiping the one thing that is worth worshiping. The creator the one who created the world the one who created you the one who created me. We've exchanged that truth for ally and we still have a need to worship and so because we have a need to worship. We're gonna put that worship somewhere and worship has gone to created things rather than the creator so we hear that this is what it is saying to us. Okay okay second question. What's the back story. And i've given you a lot of backstory already about paul and who he is. But here's the context of romans before we get to these verses before we get to verse sixteen. We've got paul doing ordinary. Things like ordinary pastor. Things paul is addressing problems of poverty. He's addressing this idea that he's he's gathered up an offering so that he can be generous on behalf of other churches. He's talking about community and how we take care of each other. And and travels that he wants to make and delays that he's had in his travel and in the midst of all of this ordinary stuff he breaks out with this detailed doctrinal statement on what really matters and the reason. I want you guys to know that is because a lot of times. I think that people we separate religion we separate what we understand what we believe from everyday life. It's like well. This stuff doesn't really matter to my work today. The stuff doesn't really matter to this email. I have to answer. This stuff doesn't really matter about the bills that need to get paid or the the confusion i have around my teenager or whatever. Your everyday concerns are but the reality is. Paul is entering in with some everyday concerns being pastor in a church dealing with everyday stuff and in the midst of that he says. Hey i'm not ashamed of the gospel because it's the power of god so our understanding of what is coming as we apply our minds and we uncover some truth in romans is this. She matters for our everyday life. We don't want a separate doctrine and believe from our everyday reality. What if we chose to see that this great news. This good news of the gospel is one hundred percent relevant to our everyday life. Now you may not know how it's relevant to your life right now. But i just want to put that out there to you as a vision for what we're doing over these next sixteen weeks is were asking that question. Is this relevant to my everyday life. How is my understanding of the gospel relevant to my everyday life. Okay third question. What does it mean. What does it mean. What are the principles that we find here. And i've i've pulled some some easy principles for our starting point today in chapter one and that first easy principle is that paul seems to be saying this understanding of what the gospel is is the power of god like that's the basic understanding of versus sixteen and seventeen this understanding of the power of the gospel like the gospel is the power of god and it is for jews and gentiles meaning. It is not for one group of people it is for all people and that can be our theory that we're working on and i think what we're gonna find is that's going to be an umbrella theory that lays over the top of this entire book k. And then the next thing we learned is what we just talked about. What does it mean. Well inverse twenty-five what does it mean. It means man. There's a problem which it sounds to me from verse. Twenty five like paul setting us up to understand. Hey there's a principle at play here and that principle at play is that there's a real problem in this world and this real problem in the world is not about the people out there. It's about jews and gentiles alike. It's about all the people it's about the world and we're about to discover in these coming chapters with that really excite so finally. What does it mean for me. Well my friends. That's what we're going to discover over the next several weeks. I want to ask you this question. What is the power of the gospel in your life. If someone turned to you and asked you why do you follow. Jesus anyway if someone turn to you and asked you. How are you different than me if someone turned to you and ask you. What is grace. Really what people mean when they say the gospel. What does it mean to you. That is what's ahead. And i cannot wait here but we're going to learn together as we walk with god through the book of romans. Thanks for being with me today. Everyone talking xy. "week one" Discussed on How to Study the Bible

"If we've been in the church for a really long time. We've never really apprehended how to do that for ourselves. We may be used devotions. We like our pastors sunday messages. But were not in the word ourself and so the spirit and the hope of this. Podcast is to give you those tools to be in god's word to be in god's word for yourself not with a devotion but really with your study notes with your journal really discovering asking questions of the tax to understanding what it for you what it means for your life and so what you're gonna find here on this podcast is. We're going to ask those same for questions every single episode so the four questions are what is it. Say we're gonna look at a passage of scripture and make sure. I need to ask questions to understand. What is this actually saying. I should be able to restate it in my own words. Like if i'm if i'm tracking with what's happening in the bible or any any piece of literature but for our purposes the bible. If i'm reading a story if i'm reading a song if i'm reading a letter i need to know like can i restate what i just read. Oftentimes it's not our normal language Many of us like were so affected by this instant gratification culture that we live in We're used to reading like bite size pieces of information that when we go to something that can be a little bit obscure or obtuse like the bible. We just are like we gloss over and we're like i don't even know what i read. You know somebody point me to the basic encouragement right and we kinda get stuck in our Devotional life in our daily life with god. We just we just avoid big pieces of scripture because we don't know what to do with them so what we're trying to do is i ask the question. What does it say. How do we get curious about the bible without like losing. Our minds are losing faith. We just how do we ask questions about what it saying and live in the tension that there is some mystery there is some questions that's part of the process and that is okay. So we're going to do that together. We're gonna ask. what does it say. Our second question is always. What's the back story. What's going on in this passage. What do we need to know about the people who are reading it or the person who wrote it or why we might want to know about the history and the culture around the passage a lot of times. We need to understand more Sometimes we need to understand more about what's going on in other places in the bible as we'll see in the book of romans. Many times paul is going to be referencing stories and scripture that we may not be familiar with. So it's gonna be really hard to get the point if we don't know what he's talking about. And obviously when paul wrote romans. He was writing to a specific audience in a specific moment in time in history with specific concerns and we want to understand that back story before we go to the next question and that next question is what does it mean. What are the principles that we find in a passage that we read. What's the the real kind of treasure of truth. That is present in a passage. Sometimes it is really easy to discern. Sometimes it takes more work. I like to think of those principles as are working theories as we grow in our understanding of who god is. Were actually able to develop those theories. From god's word about what. God is teaching us about himself. What god is teaching us about ourselves. What got us teaching us about the world and we want to know those things because we have to live in this world together right and we've got a journey through this world through the highs and through the lows and if we can understand wow like what does god want me to know about himself. What does god want me to know about me as a human being. What has god want me to know about the world. Those are the kind of questions at actually really can transform our life and so that final question. I one was. What does it say. second one was. What's the back story. Third one what does it mean and the fourth one. What does it mean for me. How is the spirit of god working in my life right now in whatever. My concerns are whatever. My emotions are today wherever i am living in this crazy world that we are inhabiting what has got half for me. And oftentimes what god has for. Us is leading us to worship leading us to confession leading us to encouragement leading us to action. And so we're always gonna make sure we're asking that final question okay. This is relevant where we're entering into a passage believing it is relevant for our lives. God has brought you here to this moment to this minute that we are in together for a purpose. He is not going to waste your time. He wants you to know him. He wants to reveal himself to you. And when you show up faithfully to your place of worship to opening your bible to this podcast to our facebook group when you do those things in your just showing up to say man. I'm here to experience guide. I don't know how it's going to happen. I don't know what that means exactly. But i'm here to experience god. God is faithful to reveal himself to us so we enter in. When we enter into a passage we enter in believing that god wants to reveal something to each and every one of us today it may not be the same thing but god is revealing himself to us today. He has decided in his glory. And in this majesty that he wants to reveal himself to human beings and his primary method for doing so is his word is the bible so when we opened the bible we you're saying yes to god's primary method of communication we are saying yes we are showing up to hear from god in our everyday life. Okay so that's what we're going to be doing if you're new and if you're old here if you've been around for a while hey show yourself. If you've been around for a while. I wanna know i wanna say hi. Come join the facebook group. You can leave me a review on the podcasts. Whatever we'd love to know your name a love reading reviews and hearing how this has been helpful to you. So i know i've mentioned a couple of things about these other kind of structures around this so you can just listen to this podcast you can just enter into romans with us. Maybe you're picking it up for the first time or halfway through the series or whatever But you can also engage more deeply put together a couple of free resources. To just help you engage more deeply in the book of romans because it is a very deep book. So we've got a weekly email that gives you a reading plan. Some questions to consider some art that connects to the work that we're doing and we have a facebook group where you can let our community now what you're learning from god and believe me that kind of accountability like if you just decided man. I'm going to share a word of encouragement like i'm gonna share what. I'm learning from romans one this week. I'm going to put it in the facebook group. You will be amazed at how much attention you pay you like. You will pay attention to what you're learning because you are going to want to share word and believe me the spirit of god is going to give you an opportunity to share that work with someone else. That's what's incredible. When we show up expecting that god has called us to be ambassadors in this world and that he wants to use us as his vessels as his voice in the world. When we show up like that. We're like oh gosh. I better pay attention. There's something for me to learn here. There's something for me to share and the facebook group is a place where you can do that. You can practice with a warm audience. Who wants to hear from you. Who'll encourage you as you are growing in your own faith so if you want to get involved in any of that stuff just go to nicole. Unis dot com slash romans. It's in the show notes that will get you signed up for the facebook group to get you the reading plan all that stuff totally free. We're not gonna send you other stuff. "Of romans together. We're using something that we call the alive method which is really just a simple bible. Study method based on my book called help. My bible is alive and in that book. I just teach the basic tools of how you can use a study bible. That's in particular. Kind of bible. A study bible and a journal to really experience god to walk with god through his word. God promises in his word that he will give us comfort encouragement direction that our lives can be built upon his word and for so many of us. Even if we've been in the church for a really long time. We've never really apprehended how to do that for ourselves. We may be used devotions. We like our pastors sunday messages. But were not in the word ourself and so the spirit and the hope of this. Checks <Speech_Music_Male> bounced from left <Speech_Male> to right. <Speech_Male> They went from <Speech_Male> ten coaches to two <Speech_Male> and a teen mom because <Speech_Male> they weren't getting paid <Speech_Male> nobody went <Speech_Male> to school. <SpeakerChange> They were stealing <Speech_Male> food just to <Silence> eat. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> And by the way <Speech_Male> that i mentioned <SpeakerChange> <Silence> bishop sycamore. <Speech_Male> <Silence> There's no building. <Silence> <Silence> <Silence> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> Yeah <Speech_Male> building <Silence> now housing. <Silence> <Silence> <Silence> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> there you go <Speech_Male> in case. You weren't <Silence> angry enough for the day <Speech_Male> you have <Speech_Male> people that are still trying <Silence> to scam out. They're <Speech_Male> fantastic. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> And i think that's a <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> way to close <Speech_Male> out <SpeakerChange> episode <Speech_Male> to eighteen <Silence> basically. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Yeah bishops <Speech_Male> big scam. <Speech_Male> They're <Speech_Male> robbing berenson <Speech_Male> promising. <Speech_Male> Kids potential <Speech_Male> to play d. One <Speech_Male> ball and <Speech_Male> should be <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> stayed away from <Silence> an all cost <Speech_Male> so <Speech_Male> be careful <Speech_Male> out there do <Speech_Male> research do your <Speech_Male> homework and <Speech_Male> make sure that the <Speech_Male> place you wanna <Speech_Male> play for is <Silence> legit <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> and if <Speech_Male> you school. <Speech_Male> You're looking at has <Speech_Male> a block. <Speech_Male> Spa they page <Speech_Male> and nothing <Speech_Male> else about it and <Speech_Male> you look at the <Speech_Male> apparent <Speech_Male> college. <Speech_Music_Male> That's running it and <Silence> that's <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> worse. <Speech_Music_Male> <Silence> Don't do <Silence> it <Speech_Male> don't <Speech_Male> do it. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> So that <Speech_Male> will conclude <Speech_Male> episode to <Speech_Male> eighteen here <Speech_Male> on the cincinnati <Speech_Music_Male> dayton. Sports podcast <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> next week <Speech_Male> will hopefully <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> but <Speech_Music_Male> we'll we'll <Silence> save <Speech_Male> well <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> talk about week. Three <Speech_Male> football <Speech_Male> cincinnati bengals <Speech_Male> and hopefully touch <Speech_Male> up on baseball <Speech_Male> reds <Speech_Male> are still with <Speech_Male> the second wildcard <Speech_Male> spot but <Speech_Male> last night lost. The saint <Speech_Male> louis puts the cardinals <Speech_Male> even closer <Speech_Male> dayton. <Speech_Male> Dragons are starting to <Silence> fall a little bit <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> they didn't have <Speech_Male> the command <Speech_Male> as <Speech_Music_Male> they did. So <Speech_Music_Male> that's <Speech_Music_Male> depressing <Speech_Music_Male> and <Speech_Music_Male> that <Speech_Music_Male> is <Speech_Male> pretty much <Speech_Music_Male> in the baseball <Speech_Male> side. I guess <Speech_Male> all the florence. <Speech_Male> Y'all's i <Speech_Male> will say that. <Speech_Male> They <Speech_Male> are was <Speech_Male> game and a half out <Speech_Male> of first place <Speech_Male> in the frontier league and <Speech_Male> only one team gets in <Speech_Male> playoffs. I agree that's That's heartless if i ever heard of anything and oh by the way going back to play friday night and sunday night. It's not the first time this happened. Johnson even downplayed the number players in the game from the columbus dispatch saying that was about fifteen players who have played in both games when it was in fact more than that shocked. I know so. This is from jokin. Z. e. x. p. on twitter the bishops. Sycamore coach. roy. Johnson just said on twitter chat that twelve to fifteen has guys played in both friday in sunday's game against img and playing center in two games over three days. Roy johnson had this assay well. I justified that decision as he is eighteen years old. We assume that. Hey are you good to play. We having a good thing. Wait let me read that justified. That decision as in he's eighteen years old we asked him Like hey are you good to play. Are we having a good thing. We asked him. That's not me stuttering What it says we we asked him and the number two will be number two where we ask them is like. Hey when you coming in to make this play we're going against this competition for us. That game Yeah excuse me a minute while readjust my brain. I have no idea what that said. So i imagine paragon marketing scheduled the event for espn raw. She ghazi the president of paragon marketing. Said they would have canceled. They know about bishops sycamore playing in multiple games that weekend although apparently there was already video evidence showing this is the case. this is ben coup b. k. O on twitter put aside. That's a very bad team from shady. School the light to get on tv. You absolutely cannot play two games in three days in sang. Also he spoke to the president said he would have canceled the game if he knew team played on friday. We reviewed fridays film. Seemed like players. Play both games update coming soon so elise paragon did the right thing. After that saying they'll never work with. Bishop sycamore game so pretty much. In a few years this is probably by pop up as another company and coach has different name and everything. So yeah.

"To ucla and lsu. But you got clemson georgia in charlotte. clemson lane three and a half seven on the money. Line georgia. The dogs walk plus one forty on the money. Line sitting at fifty one and a half colby is. I don't know it part of me thinks you take you. Take georgia here. Because you're getting more than three points but part of me likes betting on a guy named big cinco lock going on here with my handicap. And what are you got. I kind of agree when we had phil steele on the show. He said like anything more than a field goal on the other team. Gimme georgia plus the three and a half. I still think. I mean this is a toss up game. There's a high chance whoever wins is going to be my three points that i can get three and a half. Give me Give me give me the bulldogs and three and a half points It is going to be interesting though because like j. J. daniels yes. He played great but In against kinda shitty opponent so. This is going to be as i true. Ambig- cinco got some looks. You know when When lawrence was dealing with the cova there or he was on the list and his. Name's big cinco. I n you daboh. Who just wins games. And and i think this almost to me. It could go both ways for georgia. This is their season like if they don't win this game one. Do they have another opportunity to look at their schedule under the sec championship. Yeah so this is like their season. Which i think is almost too much pressure for a guy like j. t. daniels and clemson's coming in here kinda with not a lot of pressure and because even if they lose this game they can run the table and be in a position in the college football playoff so i think the fact that the pressure is all on georgia as a small dog. I'm going clemson minus three and a half.

"Happens. Western michigan has never beaten michigan. Let's try and who's my one note. And the mac when they normally play michigan. Especially the whether it's central michigan with western michigan with its eastern michigan. They get their ass kicked by michigan. So michigan is gonna give me the wolverines minus the points in the big house. All right so. I will say michigan's own five in their last five against the spread and western michigan four and one against the spread. Last five games played in week one or the other. This is one of the games. I flagged thirty percent of the tickets on central michigan. But seventy percent central michigan or western michigan. What did i say. Western michigan western michigan and seventy percent of the money is on west so less tickets more money which means charlottesville sharp activity going on in. We look you know. I'm not to back harbour under any circumstance. Fuck you for making dad the bedding commandments. Kerm okay i'm going to update number seven fade harbaugh. Yeah every time. Now we're heading to college park maryland. Twelve thirty west coast kickoff west. Virginia the mountaineers laying two and a half minus one seventy on the money line as they head to square off against the turps in maryland. Fifty six and a half is the total. You can give me brinkley. Euro fifty six. And a half. And i wouldn't take that was one of the nuggets. Loxley maryland is off the list. And i mean this is basically a pick him. You're telling me we get west. Virginia's is insane. But i mean it was at a at three. It's like i. I guess i thought about for a second to was Little brother is. He's fun to watch. And i think he's he's He's better than his big brother. At least that the the nfl but really it's about maryland's defense. They have some real holes. They allowed two hundred and thirty rushing yards per game. Combined that with letty brown for the mountaineers he could have a massive day and he's looking He's someone i'm looking to play in. The prize picks Dfm segment so. I think they're able to control the ball control. The clock and again fade loxley. What else do you need to hear. i'm. I'm all over west virginia minus two. And a half colby you with a hundred percent man. Look i know the only good thing. That happened from maryland scottie. Montgomery is gone. He's indianapolis colts. So maybe they gonna fade. The colts Maybe they win the national championship this year. Now that the montgomery has gone. But no i'm going to continue to fade loxley here. I want to know the three quarters of the people who are betting on maryland in this game. They're they're getting more of the act. I mean maryland had a couple. What were they like two and four last year but they had a couple know wins where they were like twelve or thirteen point dog hint state game in the minnesota but minnesota had like forty players out again. It was a weird season. But maybe that's why people are gonna sit this could be the all-time value play just fading maryland. every week. yeah and what was the Do you have the guys record the loxley. Samer his his the maryland coaches Record is insane how bad it is. It is a right. Sorry okay. I got it so nine new mexico one and eleven took over rocky long a bowl. How does he keep getting work. Better sola eleven. Two thousand eleven. Oh and for that was that was enough so to twenty six overall is the head coach of the new mexico. Lobos in the mountain west. He that resurfaces maryland where he I think he takes over. I guess season goes one in five to close it out. He then goes away. He then resurfaces to go three and nine in two thousand nineteen two and three last year and guess what brought him back. Yeah and and look at the way they they lose these games Penn state beat them fifty nine to nothing in two thousand nineteen proven forty. Two fourteen minnesota fifty to ten michigan. Thirty eight seven. Ohio state seventy three fourteen nebraska fifty solo record of eight and forty. Three that's encino. how he got the head. Coaching job at maryland. "Night's preseason action in the nfl it was an absolute blowout a trouncing. The patriots had a quarterback controversy. But everybody looks good against the eagles. Campbell good mack jones. Look good jalen. Rose what you think about cams performance. I i think if you really you didn't lead a game saying fly. Eagles fly by nothing you saw in that game. I'm happy for cam newton. We talked about the patriots improving their roster this off season we wondered how he will look as a passer. I talked about them primarily being a rush t. They look like a balanced team now again. It's the preseason never overreacted at as alliance fan. I learned first hand. Because i saw rt go undefeated in the preseason go winless that same season. So i'm not going to overreact per se but i was happy for camp. Did he left last night's game with the ability to talk trash to the team. That was getting on him about being. Check down guy practice. I mean can't exactly go deep in this game but he didn't have to and cam looks good but you know who else look. Good matt jones like they seem to. They always say like two quarterbacks. You don't have one. I think the thing is just have two quarterbacks like they might just have to good quarterbacks one rookie they're going to develop and then one season better who's going to be that week one starter this to me after watching last night again. I don't wanna take too much. Wavering preseason game but after watching last night this is cam newton's job until it's not and i think cam newton is successful in. This team wins that he will continue to be the starting quarterback for this team however because the other way i can see mack jones playing this

"Six ford aerostar minivan. That was two tone gray and we would all hop into the minivan and we would begin out on this twenty one hundred mile journey. So if you haven't done it so day one start in phoenix. And if you if you're lucky you get all the way el paso texas and then day to the worst because day to you wake up in el paso texas you drive twelve fourteen hours and then when you go to bed that night you're still in texas and it's it's very discouraging and as an adult i look back at these journeys and to me. I see it now as an experiment in anticipation. There is anticipation in journey and as painful as that might seem to be in a car for that long with a lot of small people back. My thirty seven year old heart has no problem at all reconnecting with my seven year old heart to remember exactly what that felt like after four days of being in the car to see grandma's house in the distance and to get out of that car and go run into the house and find that wonderful beautiful woman and give her a hug. After i had seen my grandma a year. I love that feeling. I can feel it right now as i'm talking to you because there is anticipation. In the journey in ancient israel. There were three times each year that they had a holiday to celebrate and to travel towards jerusalem and those three festivals are the ones that we just named in the exodus chapter twenty three. That is the festival of unleavened bread. It's the festival of the harvest. And then it's the festival of the final harvest and we're going to move into a new series. Today called the psalms of ascent and we're to specifically look at the playlist for this journey. That people would come from miles and miles away. It could be hundreds of miles that you were traveling by foot or by donkey with a cart. And all of your stuff as you would travel to one of these celebrations and the bible gives us a very specific playlist for their journey. There are fifteen. Psalms in the book of psalms from some one twenty two psalm. One thirty four that are listed as the psalms of sent and they were designed and set apart to be the soundtrack for your journey. They were songs for you to sing while you were traveling to jerusalem so each week. We're going to look at one of these festivals and there were also going to read one of the songs together as we go through this country week series of the some sense and we're gonna start today with the festival of unleavened bread so the festival unleavened bread occurs every spring in the same week that we celebrate easter. And that's not a coincidence. Because both easter and the festival unleavened bread are anchored by the same date and that date would be passover so if we think as christians that we associate passover as good friday when jesus had his last meal with his disciples before he was crucified. We're we connect to passover when jewish people celebrate passover. They're thinking all the way back to the first passover in egypt. If you're not familiar with the story. I'll tell you real quick when the israelites captive in egypt god sent ten plagues against the land. Each of order for them to be freed and that tenth plague was where the death angel would come in and would kill the first born child of every family in egypt now. He gave a path out. He sent a half of redemption to his people and this was the instructions they were given. They were told they would take a spotless. Lamb or sheep and sacrifices animal unto the lord as a protection over their house and they would then take the blood of that lamb or sheep and put it over the threshold of their house..

"Sorry did I put more effort into my food and the dolphins put into their game against the Ravens greetings everyone welcome to the blowhole blowhole on finsider radio today. It is myself James Radio with my co host Rob Thomas Primary. You still robbed him as prime after that. I I am I okay that was by far the worst I mean. Even sixty sixty two seven the jags game marinas last last stand. This was just as bad all right so I mean this was. It was less important. I guess if you need to know the rob dimissed mantra. Don't overreact week Iraq yeah. I know all of that. I know all of that but this was like like you know sitting through the game was got off. It was like a college football game. It was like Miami University of Miami versus like Savannah State or something like that. The eighties it was like playing madden against the teenager was just there was nothing like it was like they had different set of rules. I stay. They're allowed to do whatever they want and you're not allowed to do. Oh anything so pluses. We are really good at tanking like. I don't think anybody's ever been this good at tanking. I'm still I'm still pretending being like tanking. Do you think maybe they can trade somebody like before Sunday's and then like and then maybe bring in a bunch of new guys like on on Saturday well. That's I mean this. Can we do that again this week. I'm asking this was pre season one. This was like preseason week. One team has not even like Fitzpatrick was introducing himself to linemen like in the huddle like Ohio Ryan meet you. Let's go play a football game. The sad the left side the offensive line was pretty good though Davis and dealer and then Kilgore actually at bay all created out okay. It was the right side. That was terrible. I was Dora and then was it web that started at right tackle. It wasn't even the guy that it wasn't even Davenport. The guy that got for Tonsil Davenport did play. I think he might have rotated in but I think I think web started. I don't know it it was by the time I started watching the game. It was and I got there quick like I had I had to drop the kids off and I gotta say the Bar and it was already over he was they were just about to score the third touchdown. It was yeah it was twenty one so as I sat down if we're looking for our net was literally only like ten minutes report looking for silver linings. This offensive line is way worse than last year's terrible offensive line and yet they still like fit still managed just like move around and find people downfield not just terrible screens that were like yeah and I. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Fitzpatrick is a better quarterback than than Tanna better pocket presence also offensively the game. I mean I know you only score ten and we were never in it and that was but I didn't didn't hate the way the offense looked for for a week one like we are no running game like I mean but the game was they didn't have sustained in Baltimore like I'm I'm. I'm not saying that was good by any stretch is I'm just saying I thought this would be the I thought the offense would be as bad as the defense was in and the defense was I thought the defense is going to get where we were both on record as saying we thought the defense was actually. GonNa play pretty. Well Yeah and really we wrong. Yeah I mean I guess I'm prime is under miss or underestimated how bad the their frontlines is going to be because they changed. They changed is that completely to four before going into this game the will as I have to acknowledge as Iraq the lion they had in the in the preseason was completely different than the line. They went the outside of Charles Harris who looked any nobody can on defense but I did see him flash a few times here. I didn't see this. This is what I'll have to say because as as the optimist went on I went on record last week saying. I don't think we're we'RE NOT GONNA. We're not losing on purpose where you know where you're trading away veterans making you worse now to get better but looking at how they played all of a sudden. I'm like would nate is NATO like cutting need orchard and and and and tank kerosene kerosene. I mean that wasn't really a big salary. Guys weren't making a lot of money and it's not got anything back like you would think those that felt like a cut just to get worse that felt those felt like tank moves now. After watching I own under yeah I didn't under- because those whoever however was in there like was useless like they had they got absolutely no pressure and I'm not saying those two guys are game changers but but like I know so so that they were consistently getting penetration and pressure in preseason I notice the preseason but still I mean and it's quite possible in practice actress and all the things they didn't rate as well as the guy that he kept and maybe maybe it was a pure football movement but I understand the people the tank people seeing Matt and saying that I get it that that looks like that. There was no reason to cut them. There was no there was it was not getting a hall a picks like tonsil which is defendable in rebuilt situation as bad as it makes you this year. It wasn't a cutting for salary. It wasn't a dumping allows so for salary or or if someone and gave us something for Jones to get rid of the salary the no there was nothing gained from losing those stills make no difference in this game like deck like they don't they have they would've made no difference in that game. Well you know what I'm going to say. Tunsil made a very big difference in helping us get a better pick from the Texans. No no no I understand like a guy been there for like four days. He actually played well but gate but then gave up some some critical sacks and then a huge ten when they needed when they didn't well one anyway so the scheme we were talking about this right before. Are we started. This scheme was to stack the box to stop the running game correct. It was it was the scheme that the chargers successfully in the playoffs playoffs correct and we were unable to stop the run and unable to pass and again no changes were made even even when yeah so we were killed by the rookie wide receiver who Burns Fitzpatrick. It seemed like whoever it seemed like Patrick was Minkah. Fitzpatrick was the one getting burned repeatedly. I saw a row and Jomo Wiltz. I mean everybody got it got except for I didn't even but they didn't have to throw yeah yeah. I think I think one target Baker Akhavan made a few splash plays obviously nowhere near enough and then the Harris I i. I don't think they sacked Lamar Jackson. Oh I do not think so but I saw him at least get some pressure. I think they saw him. I don't even I don't even think they could they could say for sure. It was 'em because they were so far away from from where he was. Oh man and woman and Yeah so if it's Patrick was historically bad in this game I targeted six times gave up six receptions three three of them for touchdowns well over one hundred yards receiving against him specifically and the tight end again. This team still doesn't not not know how to cover tight. Ends doesn't not know what does not know. How did I say doesn't not no. I don't know what you said. Whatever team still does not know how to cover tight ends that were just it doesn't matter that the coordinator of the scheme the personnel we're just we can't ever recover tight ends we cannot. I don't know what that I don't know what that is. I've never seen I watch a lot of football. I watch a lot of other games. I I've never seen anything like it and it's been going on. It's been about ten years now well you'd need certain certain. Unidas especially in today's NFL when you have these kind of giant but wide receiver tight end tight end but like this team is every single week every single Sunday. The tight end has a huge game against us so I don't know those whatever I just. I couldn't have been more disgusted with this team like it was it was funny to the point where I mean literally laughing with this. There was a few dolphins fans in front of me at the bar. Just shake our heads the entire time by the way I found a way to almost it's it's not a pure guarantee but almost guarantee we will get a win this year here yeah yes well. I think a jets are buffalo are beatable. I think we I think we could we could lead if we don't split with both we gotta split with one fund that owned for after the break up with the with the then we gotta stretch of three of those next thanks for our winnable games and who knows you know okay so Sunday this Sunday. No I'm not ready well. Let's does from here and a half point underdogs as of this. Here's my secret. I don't like survivor and I got roped into a survivor pool dolphin. I'm just going with the Dolphin opponent. It's an IT's easy. It's the right thing to do but I'm not good at survivor so eventually I'll be wrong and we'll get our win. The problem is is when they play a team again. I won't be able to use that team right and that's that's might be that might be a when I get knocked out so they're eighteen and a half one hundred dollars at home. So if this game was in New England they'd be twenty four and a half point underdogs. I know well I yes. We are doing it for three further. New England so if this was in Foxborough we would be let that sink in twenty. Is that the that might be the largest line I've ever heard. Nfl I don't I don't know if it would be only because I know in Miami. I understand but I think it's sort of like an it's almost like it's like exponential when you get up there. I don't think I mean eighteen already one of the I'd might be the highest line I've ever seen and I'm it went up because it was it was seventeen and I think to start so like it's people are taking. I it's I mean they're going to get murdered on some. I think this thing opened at at like fifteen and a half or sixteen. This thing's going to be bet to nineteen yeah. There's going to get murdered like I mean. It's going to be awful this this actually looking at the site that we use it as actually nineteen already as right right now so I'm at the point where I know that everybody had like. They're all signed off on this this rebuilding the at what point like as bad as how bad is it going to have to get for them to start like like. Do you think floors job is safe this year yes no matter what like in sixteen and they lose by thirty points every single time yes that was the whole point of his deal was like we are going to win. In the first two years yeah they gave him extra years on his deal in a normal coaches deal and there's there's word that this is not this is this is from Ross like don't win in the first two years like or the first year that well. I don't think there's time for this segment but if this team is bad enough that unless there's there's a dude they really love and it's a good quarterback class next year. There's no guarantee they even go quarterback now. They need pieces. They need they could float up on the line in this and wait a sort of similar to the browns waiting on when everyone thought they needed to take a quarterback and they ended up taking some that with the nutbag late but they passed on a lot of good guys and people like what are you doing like there. Were loading up. We're not ready to put a quarterback out here in terrible team so this. This is what I don't get like this is I guess and I WanNa talk more about this. Sunday game like preview that but what about this whole situation is like why waste the pick on Rosen like why trade trade the pick for Rosen if like it's clear that well like I was putting him in any kind of position to succeed. You're not like your what did you do that for. Well it one to see see you're not you can't see anything with this like this is not a have a chance they know but they can evaluate whether the guy is good who listeners you cannot physically see my eyes and how hard they are murdered it. That's how loud my eyes rolled on. You know there's no. There's no point ain't in practice. That's if if he's a I think they are plant. They are trying to lose every game. I just don't like what did why even bring Rosen in in here like he's not even like now. You wasted depict together even though it was even though we thought it was a great deal but like there's no reason for him to be here here. He's not like there's this team's not going to succeed. Here's you're not putting him in an succeed. They're not planning because as I just mentioned. They're not looking. Take Guy next year. This is an tank for two or help me. Herbs shares rose in next year. Rosen plays with a little better team and gets a chance to prove himself and and again if we end up top five pick Romans out Trevor Lawrence in two years if if if if we get a top five pick then Rosen's out if we if he gets us to eight or whatever then Rosen maybe stay later picks go to build the team around him but it's impossible to say this because we only have the lens of a week one shellacking that can't be overblown correct. We have to see and again even even we're. GonNa see another one on Sunday well. There's a chance they're not GONNA lose fifty nine ten on Sunday. I think the the we always beat that you know we're five and one against them. Miami going to destroy us that means..
